[00:00:00] Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm still making mouth sounds here because I'm fucking trying to slam down this protein bar. Go ahead. I got little Caesars for when I'm done as a reward. Nice. Nice. I've got a Rockstar Pure Zero because they were two for two dollars. Or no, it was buy two get two free. So I loaded up on those motherfuckers. Oh my god. That's a great deal. I have a bottle of bourbon. Yay. What does it say? I have an eagle. Hell yeah.

[00:00:29] That is Eagle Rare from Buffalo Trace. If you ever see this in the wild and you remotely like bourbon, just do yourself a favor. Treat yourself. I have a cup of sour cream. Shit, I better put this back. I got nothing on that. We're all fucked. That's what I mean. Jerry's, the whole other brand. You dipping your protein bar in that? Sour cream bar? Sour cream. There's a little bit of cheese in there too, just for good measure.

[00:00:58] Jill Sandwich. Hello, superstars. My name is Aaron. I can glow in the dark. And my name is Jerry and I dip my protein bars in sour cream. And you're listening to Super Pod Saga.

[00:01:21] Welcome back, everybody. Once again, this is indeed Super Pod Saga, the one and only, the greatest podcast that has zero flaws.

[00:01:30] Bet your sweet tits it doesn't.

[00:01:32] Yeah, exactly.

[00:01:33] Yeah, so this is the podcast where Jerry and I, we pick different guests. We pick a different topic. Well, the guests pick the topic, I guess.

[00:01:40] And then we talk about video games and video game accessories each and every week. Jerry, what are we talking about this week?

[00:01:48] We're talking about Resident Evil.

[00:01:50] Residential Evil.

[00:01:52] Residential Evil. And just the first one. And it's going to be a three hour long podcast about every moment of Resident Evil. No, I'm just kidding.

[00:01:59] It's like a retrospective Resident Evil.

[00:02:02] Yeah, yeah, exactly.

[00:02:03] All of them. Even the bad ones.

[00:02:05] There are no bad ones.

[00:02:07] We're not doing spin-offs, though.

[00:02:09] Listeners, we're just doing Main Series 1 0 through 8.

[00:02:13] Yeah, 0 through 8. That's it.

[00:02:15] Yeah, there's bad ones there.

[00:02:17] Okay.

[00:02:18] Well, yeah, before we get to that, let's introduce some guests.

[00:02:22] First up, we have a returning face.

[00:02:24] Nomad. Hello, man.

[00:02:26] What is happening, you guys?

[00:02:28] I'm so happy to be back with you all.

[00:02:31] This is my third. Number three. I deserve a prize in some capacity, I think.

[00:02:35] I'll send you another bottle of bourbon. Is that cool?

[00:02:38] Ooh. Thanks, buddy. You're the best.

[00:02:40] I'll pop my top off after the show's over or something.

[00:02:43] Appreciate that, too. Or I'll take a protein bar dipped in sour cream.

[00:02:46] I'll dip myself in sour cream for you, Nomad. You know what I'm saying?

[00:02:52] Oh, yeah. What was the last one we had you on for? Was it the hated games that we like?

[00:02:56] That was the one. Episode 84, hated games that we actually like.

[00:03:01] Yeah, that was a really fun one.

[00:03:03] Boy, for anybody who hasn't heard those episodes or heard your show before, go ahead and plug your show.

[00:03:08] Talk about yourself, your favorite games.

[00:03:10] And how about you can talk about your favorite cocktail or alcoholic beverage.

[00:03:16] All right.

[00:03:17] So my big shtick is I have a podcast called The Retro Wildlands.

[00:03:22] And The Retro Wildlands. Ooh, nice.

[00:03:24] Anyways, I...

[00:03:26] We're also called The Retro Wildlands. What's happening here?

[00:03:29] Yeah.

[00:03:29] I gotta trademark this shit.

[00:03:32] I... This is not good.

[00:03:33] But on my particular show, specifically, I'm an almost 40-year-old gamer now.

[00:03:39] And I am going back and playing old retro games that I missed out on when I was a kid.

[00:03:44] But I put a little bit of a spin on it.

[00:03:46] I take you, the listener.

[00:03:47] Yes, you, right now listening.

[00:03:49] Through the game itself, using music, sound effects, that kind of thing.

[00:03:53] And I want to try to recreate the experience of the game.

[00:03:57] So if you've ever played the game before, you'll, you know, get a little bit of that nostalgic tingly going on as you hear me play through the game as I talk about it.

[00:04:05] Or if you've never played the game before and you're just kind of mildly curious about it, want to know what the hell it's all about, you can listen to the show and get a line on one of your favorite games that way.

[00:04:14] So, um, got a decent amount of episodes out there.

[00:04:18] I kind of throw them out willy-nilly.

[00:04:19] I'm a busy guy, parent of a couple rambunctious teenagers, and I work a full-time job that whole thing.

[00:04:25] So, I know, right?

[00:04:26] They're got needs and stuff.

[00:04:28] Gotta constantly water them and feed them and stuff.

[00:04:29] Make your own quesadillas, goddammit.

[00:04:32] Right?

[00:04:34] But that's my show.

[00:04:35] I'm on all the major pod platforms, or at least the ones that I was able to slip my show on.

[00:04:39] So, I'm really easy to find.

[00:04:41] As far as my favorite games go, spoiler alert, I love the Resident Evil series.

[00:04:45] So, I'm going to have a fun time with you all today.

[00:04:48] It's going to be awesome.

[00:04:49] I also love Final Fantasy, Silent Hill, the Metal Gear series is one of my favorites too.

[00:04:55] I play a lot of different games, so I could probably go on for forever.

[00:04:59] And as far as my favorite cocktail slash drink, I'm kind of a bourbon guy.

[00:05:04] I'm certainly not a connoisseur.

[00:05:06] I know what I like.

[00:05:09] I like rocks in it.

[00:05:09] Sometimes I don't.

[00:05:10] Like rocks you find on the ground?

[00:05:12] Or like ice?

[00:05:14] You don't know about me, Joe Rogan?

[00:05:18] Usually the ones in the driveway.

[00:05:19] The ones in the driveway do just fine.

[00:05:22] So, I'm not a complicated guy.

[00:05:23] So, it's just whatever gets me by.

[00:05:25] They don't go on a landslide for nothing.

[00:05:28] Or I guess that doesn't matter.

[00:05:29] But, yeah.

[00:05:30] Awesome.

[00:05:31] I definitely recommend the Nomad show, Retro Wildlands.

[00:05:34] I've listened to like six episodes.

[00:05:35] What is it?

[00:05:36] Gunstar Heroes.

[00:05:37] Resident Evil Code Veronica.

[00:05:40] Super Metroid.

[00:05:41] Gunstar Heroes is such a good game.

[00:05:42] Treasure doesn't miss.

[00:05:44] They don't miss.

[00:05:45] It's an awesome show, man.

[00:05:46] It's like having your big brother kind of walk you through the first hour or so of a game.

[00:05:52] And then, boom.

[00:05:54] There, off you go.

[00:05:55] It's awesome.

[00:05:56] Pretty much.

[00:05:57] And we've got a new face joining us from over in one of Jerry's shows.

[00:06:03] Portrait mode.

[00:06:04] Super Ghost Radio.

[00:06:06] Hello, Beth.

[00:06:07] Hello, hello.

[00:06:08] Hello.

[00:06:08] Tell us all about yourself.

[00:06:10] Your favorite games.

[00:06:11] Plug your show.

[00:06:13] And, yeah.

[00:06:13] Tell us about your favorite alcoholic beverage if you have one.

[00:06:15] If you're not a drinker.

[00:06:16] Just tell us about your favorite drink.

[00:06:18] Just so many questions.

[00:06:20] Feel free to skip as many as you want.

[00:06:23] Okay.

[00:06:24] Okay.

[00:06:24] I will.

[00:06:25] I'll skip most of them.

[00:06:26] No.

[00:06:27] Jerry can plug our stuff.

[00:06:30] I'm Beth.

[00:06:32] I am, I don't know, newly 30.

[00:06:37] And I play video games.

[00:06:40] Woo!

[00:06:41] The ghosts!

[00:06:43] I wish I had one.

[00:06:44] I was like...

[00:06:47] Me and Jerry and our friend Greg, we do a podcast together.

[00:06:53] Super Ghost.

[00:06:54] And I also really enjoy Resident Evil.

[00:06:58] Which is why I believe Jerry asked me to come hang out.

[00:07:02] But my favorite game series is Kingdom Hearts.

[00:07:07] And I love the Tales series and the Trails series.

[00:07:11] Both not to be confused with each other.

[00:07:17] Favorite drink.

[00:07:18] I'm not much of a drinker.

[00:07:20] But when I do, I like a Cosmo because I am a basic bitch.

[00:07:24] That's fine.

[00:07:26] And that's all.

[00:07:28] I don't...

[00:07:29] I'm not good at introducing myself.

[00:07:32] I'm not either.

[00:07:33] I usually just come in all loud and just make a joke.

[00:07:36] And then boom.

[00:07:37] Party starts.

[00:07:38] When you were like, here are questions.

[00:07:39] I was like, uh...

[00:07:42] Do I know anything?

[00:07:45] Beth is just normally used to me shouting profanities.

[00:07:48] Yeah.

[00:07:49] Making awkward situations even more awkward.

[00:07:52] Absolutely.

[00:07:53] Absolutely.

[00:07:53] And then she kind of just fills in the blanks.

[00:07:55] It's like Mad Libs.

[00:07:57] It's kind of crazy.

[00:07:58] It's kind of crazy.

[00:07:59] But I guess like a blanket disclaimer that I always do when talking about Resident Evil.

[00:08:06] I'm a scaredy cat.

[00:08:08] I can't play the Resident Evil games.

[00:08:11] I watch them.

[00:08:12] I watch speedruns.

[00:08:13] I read about the lore.

[00:08:14] I love the story.

[00:08:16] Which completely unironically love the story.

[00:08:21] And I've only ever been able to play 5 and 6 because you could have a friend.

[00:08:25] But I've...

[00:08:26] Ooh, okay.

[00:08:26] I've watched all of them a bunch.

[00:08:28] Played through 5 and 6 plenty.

[00:08:31] So...

[00:08:32] But yeah, I am scared of everything.

[00:08:35] Nice.

[00:08:36] That's still fine.

[00:08:37] At least you do enjoy the series though.

[00:08:39] Absolutely.

[00:08:40] My old co-host Tommy, he refuses to play any scary games because he's also a big coward.

[00:08:46] Those are his words, not mine.

[00:08:47] Oh.

[00:08:48] That's good.

[00:08:49] At least you try.

[00:08:50] At least you try.

[00:08:51] You're trying to overcome your fears.

[00:08:52] Absolutely.

[00:08:53] I love watching other people play scary games.

[00:08:57] It's kind of my favorite.

[00:08:58] I think your crowning achievement of watching scary games though is watching me play Murder

[00:09:01] House with your all-time biggest fear, the Easter Bunny.

[00:09:06] And this fucking game is just basically a murderous man in an Easter Bunny suit.

[00:09:13] Oh, man.

[00:09:13] And I didn't know.

[00:09:14] It was scary for me.

[00:09:16] When it happened, I cried.

[00:09:17] I had to get Jerry to pause.

[00:09:21] I thought she was going to give me some pro tips.

[00:09:23] She was like, pause, pause, pause, pause, pause, pause.

[00:09:25] And I was like, yeah, what's up?

[00:09:26] She's like, I don't know if I can do this one.

[00:09:29] Yeah.

[00:09:29] I was like, I'm actually terrified of the Easter Bunny.

[00:09:33] Understandable.

[00:09:34] But then five minutes later, I was like, yeah, key looks like the key that was on the closet

[00:09:38] for the keyhole in the closet door.

[00:09:41] But don't look.

[00:09:43] Like, okay.

[00:09:44] You've watched me play probably more horror stuff than normal games.

[00:09:49] Yeah.

[00:09:50] Because you watched me play that Poppy Playtime when I screamed really loud and then Karen

[00:09:53] came in and like yelled at me.

[00:09:56] You were there for that.

[00:09:57] And we did Phasmophobia.

[00:09:59] I used to watch like, I loved watching like Outlast and Ninja.

[00:10:03] You watched me play that fucking Mortuary Assistant.

[00:10:05] And that's just cleared my fucking soul for my body.

[00:10:08] Dude.

[00:10:08] I just can't play them.

[00:10:10] God damn.

[00:10:10] I want to play that game so bad because I've seen it played now.

[00:10:14] I'm the type, man, that I want to put myself in those situations.

[00:10:18] Like, I've said this a bunch of times before, but people go skydiving and that's how they

[00:10:22] get their adrenaline rush.

[00:10:23] Me and I want to play a scary video game.

[00:10:25] Like, I want to play Resident Evil 7 in VR because I heard that's just going to make

[00:10:29] you shit your pants all over the place.

[00:10:31] Jerry did.

[00:10:32] Yeah.

[00:10:32] Did you?

[00:10:33] What did you think, man?

[00:10:35] I mean, we'll get into this a little later, but I think that might be my favorite Resident

[00:10:40] Evil experience of all time.

[00:10:42] Nice.

[00:10:44] Yeah, that's a rush you can't get anywhere else.

[00:10:46] It's also the first time you experience a seizure.

[00:10:50] I had to like physically push myself, like physically and mentally push myself to get through

[00:10:56] that game.

[00:10:56] Like there were points where I would like be looking down a hole.

[00:11:00] Like I'd be like leaning, looking down a hallway and then I just like take the thing off and

[00:11:05] be like, I don't know if I can do this.

[00:11:07] Like, I just, I don't think this is possible.

[00:11:09] You've got like one of those blind person canes and you're like shaking it around the room to

[00:11:14] make sure there's nobody in there with you.

[00:11:15] Like, hello, spooky monsters.

[00:11:19] Oh God.

[00:11:20] That's not going to help me.

[00:11:21] If I ever play that game, my house is old.

[00:11:24] I've got like natural hardwood floors.

[00:11:25] So every step I take is like, you're going to scare yourself.

[00:11:29] Like you're good.

[00:11:30] Oh yeah.

[00:11:31] And I can't fucking wait.

[00:11:33] I've told this story, I think on, on super ghost, but there was also a situation where

[00:11:38] when I was playing this game, cause I mean, when, when you're in VR, like for anybody

[00:11:41] that doesn't know if you haven't tried VR, like played anything extensively in VR, like

[00:11:47] I had the headset on and I had the noise canceling headphones on.

[00:11:51] So I'm like, I'm fucking not on this planet anymore.

[00:11:53] Like I'm, I am not aware of any of my surroundings, like time of day, people around me, nothing.

[00:11:59] And I'm just like immersing myself in this game.

[00:12:02] And I guess Karen was trying to like call me like upstairs to be like, Hey foods, foods

[00:12:09] here, come up and eat.

[00:12:11] And she came down while I was at like a very, very tense moment.

[00:12:16] And it was probably one of those situations where I was like trying to force myself to

[00:12:19] play the game.

[00:12:20] And I'm just kind of sitting there and she came down and she like pushed me on the chest

[00:12:24] and then like yelled like, Hey, and I thought we were going to get divorced that day.

[00:12:29] Like I, I, I basically like blacked out and said shit that I'm like not aware of.

[00:12:35] Cause I like, I felt my soul leave my body.

[00:12:37] And it was one of the worst scares I've ever received in my life.

[00:12:42] Nice.

[00:12:43] Well, if that's not a fantastic intro to what we're going to talk about today, I don't know

[00:12:46] what's going to be.

[00:12:46] Damn.

[00:12:47] God damn.

[00:12:48] Yeah.

[00:12:49] Well, uh, yeah, just, just for the, uh, just for the fuck of it, Jerry, what's your favorite

[00:12:53] alcoholic?

[00:12:54] Like do you drink cocktails?

[00:12:57] Shit.

[00:12:57] Do you drink cocktails or are you just like a, like a wine guy?

[00:13:01] Aaron, I drink.

[00:13:02] Okay.

[00:13:03] I know you do.

[00:13:04] I've seen you drink on many occasions.

[00:13:06] I drink lots.

[00:13:09] And, um, I, uh, my, I guess my, my main slice is probably scotch.

[00:13:16] Um, but that's expensive.

[00:13:19] So then I usually just do wine, but when it's summertime, I'm all about a good beer.

[00:13:26] And I, uh, I had, uh, I had a, I had a nice, uh, hazy IPA earlier.

[00:13:32] Okay.

[00:13:33] Yeah.

[00:13:34] Yeah.

[00:13:34] Yeah.

[00:13:34] Nice and refreshing, especially with all this heat going on around here.

[00:13:38] What about a cocktail?

[00:13:39] What's your favorite cocktail cocktail?

[00:13:42] Yeah.

[00:13:43] Any, any one at all could just be like a fucking whiskey and Coke for BM.

[00:13:48] I like an old fashioned.

[00:13:49] Okay.

[00:13:50] Those are good.

[00:13:51] Yeah.

[00:13:52] I can do an old fashioned.

[00:13:53] Yeah.

[00:13:54] Same.

[00:13:54] I think that'd be my favorite too.

[00:13:56] Good old.

[00:13:56] I don't know.

[00:13:57] Like a knob Creek old fashioned, something along those lines.

[00:13:59] That's perfect.

[00:14:00] Yeah.

[00:14:00] Don't ever get one from Buffalo wild wings though.

[00:14:02] Cause they, they're always terrible.

[00:14:03] They're always way too strong.

[00:14:06] I mean, they're supposed to be strong.

[00:14:08] I'm going now.

[00:14:08] I want to take me.

[00:14:10] I kind of want to figure that.

[00:14:11] Yeah.

[00:14:11] I kind of want to give that a try.

[00:14:12] Like I've never thought about, yeah, I would love with my spicy wings to have an old fashioned

[00:14:17] BW3.

[00:14:19] Let's go.

[00:14:20] Oh man.

[00:14:21] Me, I'm a mule guy.

[00:14:22] I've had like maybe eight kinds of mules in my what fucking 34 years of life on this

[00:14:30] marble.

[00:14:31] Yeah.

[00:14:31] Mules are good.

[00:14:31] They come in little copper cups.

[00:14:33] They left like little tiny straws and like a big fucking lime wedge.

[00:14:36] It's great.

[00:14:37] Yeah.

[00:14:37] You always send me a picture of whenever you have a mule and I always ask you the same

[00:14:40] question.

[00:14:40] I'm like, what the fuck is that?

[00:14:41] Yeah.

[00:14:42] Why the fuck is it?

[00:14:43] I've never had one.

[00:14:46] Yeah.

[00:14:48] They're all cups.

[00:14:49] I get immediately distracted by the shinyness.

[00:15:14] Hey, let's get to that Resident Evil.

[00:15:16] God damn it.

[00:15:17] Should we start with zero or should we just go in like order release?

[00:15:21] Like start with the first one.

[00:15:22] Skip zero.

[00:15:23] Skip zero.

[00:15:24] But it's part of the series, isn't it?

[00:15:26] I know.

[00:15:27] It's just I there's something about that game.

[00:15:29] There's something about that game.

[00:15:31] I've tried.

[00:15:32] I have fucking tried so many times.

[00:15:34] I guess we can start with zero since Jerry is so ready to talk about it.

[00:15:37] Yeah.

[00:15:38] Let's let's just out of spite.

[00:15:39] We'll start with zero.

[00:15:40] Rip this.

[00:15:41] I love you, Jerry.

[00:15:42] But Resident Evil zero.

[00:15:45] What?

[00:15:45] Yeah.

[00:15:46] What do you not like about it?

[00:15:47] Is there like a specific thing?

[00:15:50] I don't like having to switch back and forth with the characters and the fact that they did not make that a co-op game.

[00:15:56] Get the fuck out of here.

[00:15:57] You had every opportunity to make a really cool co-op game in Resident Evil and they dropped the ball.

[00:16:04] And I don't know.

[00:16:05] I've gotten like a couple of hours into that game several times.

[00:16:10] I've sat down and been like, I'm going to give it an honest go.

[00:16:13] And then I do it again.

[00:16:14] And I'm like, no, this time I'm going to give it an honest go.

[00:16:17] And every single time I'm just like disappointed because it kind of like fucking leeches.

[00:16:22] Get the fuck out of here with these fucking leeches.

[00:16:24] I don't know.

[00:16:25] Leeches are gross, man.

[00:16:26] Fucking stupid enemies.

[00:16:26] Leeches are fucking disgusting.

[00:16:28] And they're annoying.

[00:16:29] Like, I don't know.

[00:16:31] There's just something about that game.

[00:16:32] It just doesn't ding my fucking dong, dude.

[00:16:37] Jerry, I'm 100% with you.

[00:16:38] And I would almost consider myself a Resident Evil fanboy at this point in my existence.

[00:16:42] But I couldn't.

[00:16:45] Well, I did it.

[00:16:46] I played the game.

[00:16:47] I actually, way back when, it was one of the reasons I decided to get a GameCube back in the day because I wanted to play Resident Evil Zero.

[00:16:55] I like the idea of a prequel, go before the mansion and try this new co-op, not co-op, whatever it is.

[00:17:02] But I had two.

[00:17:05] I'll start with two, but I'm probably going to end with like nine different gripes here.

[00:17:10] One, I didn't care for the story in that they went back and made this convoluted story involving, yeah, leeches of all the things.

[00:17:18] And leeches that take the form of a human.

[00:17:21] And all right, I know Resident Evil is in this realm of just, you have to suspend disbelief.

[00:17:26] Sure, I get it.

[00:17:27] But I couldn't get on board with that.

[00:17:29] I also didn't like the fact that your main character, Rebecca Chambers, is in the first Resident Evil, the OG Resident Evil.

[00:17:38] And they kind of had to retcon her in a sense.

[00:17:42] Like she's taking on all these monsters and she's working with this outlaw.

[00:17:45] And then she goes in the first game with, I don't know what's happening, but I'm going to stay in the save room and make you some medicine.

[00:17:52] Just, it was very disjointed.

[00:17:54] I don't like what they tried to do with it.

[00:17:55] So that's gripe number one.

[00:17:57] Gripe number two, the item boxes and the way that they did inventory management.

[00:18:02] I like the idea that they were trying something different, whereas you can't use the magical linked interdimensional item boxes.

[00:18:11] Like that's the series staple, right?

[00:18:13] You could only carry with you what you can carry, but you could drop your items anywhere you want in the play area.

[00:18:20] And that was different.

[00:18:22] And you can see them on the map too.

[00:18:23] That's kind of cool.

[00:18:24] The map will say like, hey, here's a shotgun and like 15 first aid sprays.

[00:18:29] Right.

[00:18:30] But, but then it's like, what do you want to backtrack for?

[00:18:33] What's important to you?

[00:18:35] So I'd find myself gathering up all my shit, going to the next area, dumping them on the ground.

[00:18:39] Okay.

[00:18:40] Going to try to solve the mystery and then going back and grabbing all my shit again.

[00:18:43] Like I, I liked what it tried to do.

[00:18:45] Didn't grab me.

[00:18:46] I'm with you, Jerry.

[00:18:47] Not a fan, not my favorite at all.

[00:18:51] That's understandable, man.

[00:18:53] It, uh, I just recently played it again.

[00:18:55] Uh, I forgot I had the HD version on Xbox Series X.

[00:18:59] It looks great.

[00:19:00] It sounds great.

[00:19:02] Yeah.

[00:19:02] It's cool concept, but it's really fucking slow with what you mentioned, having to like dump items in one spot, go forward to progress the fucking game and then come back to grab your shit.

[00:19:13] Uh, and then the character switching gets kind of fucking tedious at points too, especially like the, like the first part where you had to do the character switching.

[00:19:23] We're like, uh, was it Rebecca falls into that hole in the top of the train and Billy can't just jump in after her for some fucking reason, even though it's probably like what?

[00:19:32] 10 feet.

[00:19:33] Not even like, dude, I could make that fucking jump.

[00:19:35] I'm 34 years old.

[00:19:37] Billy's an old bitch.

[00:19:38] Billy.

[00:19:39] Yeah, dude.

[00:19:39] Billy the bitch.

[00:19:41] I was like, nope, guess I'll go use the dumbwaiter and send her a fucking ice pick before I stab my brains out with the goddamn thing.

[00:19:49] It, yeah, it, it, it just, it's kind of a slog at points.

[00:19:53] Like it's, it's cool fucking concept, but kind of a slog.

[00:19:56] Yeah.

[00:19:57] I almost think if, if, if you're even a remote fan of the series and you've never played it, you owe it yourself to try it.

[00:20:02] But if you don't like it, it's kind of like reading a bad book or watching a terrible movie.

[00:20:06] You are not obligated to finish it.

[00:20:08] Now I have, I have a wild suggestion and this dawned on me like a few years back.

[00:20:14] So because I don't like Resident Evil zero that much, I was like, I still kind of want to like know the story and stuff like that.

[00:20:21] Dude, just play the fucking rail shooter that covers all the Resident Evils on the Wii.

[00:20:25] Like it's so fucking good.

[00:20:27] Cause like you get, you get all the shit from Resident Evil zero and it's a, it's a fucking rail shooter.

[00:20:34] And dude, rail shooters.

[00:20:35] Which one is that?

[00:20:36] I think it's.

[00:20:36] Umbrella Chronicles and Darkseid Chronicles.

[00:20:39] They're both fantastic.

[00:20:41] Yeah.

[00:20:41] And there's so much fun to play.

[00:20:42] And guess what?

[00:20:43] Guess what?

[00:20:43] You finally get to play it in co-op.

[00:20:46] God damn it.

[00:20:46] You could play Resident Evil zero in co-op then.

[00:20:48] Cause that's a co-op game.

[00:20:51] I think.

[00:20:52] So as someone who never had to play zero because scaredy little bitch.

[00:20:57] Um, I really liked a lot of the like decisions that they made, but the execution clearly failed in gameplay.

[00:21:06] So the ideas were interesting, like having the kind of like dual, um, people kind of switch back and forth for kind of like, you could maybe do more interesting, like in-depth puzzles with that, but fails apart in execution.

[00:21:21] And I think the train is cool.

[00:21:25] And I like the idea of kind of getting to experience maybe a bit more of what one of the other characters that you come across in the original was doing outside of when you're just seeing them in the original, but not like you said, like had to retcon kind of stuff or work around it.

[00:21:44] So kind of, once again, fails a little in execution.

[00:21:46] So it's like a bunch of really interesting ideas that don't come together.

[00:21:53] And then I think the creators also hate Rebecca and Billy.

[00:21:59] And so they're not in anything like ever again.

[00:22:03] Billy's never seen again.

[00:22:05] That man is a ghost.

[00:22:06] Rebecca's picture is on, in a, in a picture in, um, Resident Evil two.

[00:22:12] Yeah.

[00:22:12] But that's like,

[00:22:13] Maybe he went to prison finally.

[00:22:14] No, he ghosted.

[00:22:15] He like, he maybe, he maybe wasn't real the whole time.

[00:22:20] Like he, for as long as you know, we don't know.

[00:22:23] Maybe he was the friends we made along the way.

[00:22:26] We don't know anything about Billy.

[00:22:27] The real Billy was the friends we made along the way.

[00:22:31] That's my line, damn it.

[00:22:33] But like, and then like Rebecca's in like that one fucking movie for 15 seconds.

[00:22:38] And she is like, here's one line of dialogue about what I've been doing for the last 20 years.

[00:22:43] And then once again, doesn't do it.

[00:22:45] Is it canon?

[00:22:46] Yeah.

[00:22:47] She's selling cyber trucks now.

[00:22:48] I think all of the movies are supposed to be canon.

[00:22:51] This is what, all of it's canon, Jerry.

[00:22:53] All of this stuff is canon.

[00:22:55] That's why I love it.

[00:22:56] Because it's crazy.

[00:22:58] And I, I could be mistaken, but I think a serious creator, Shinji Mikami, was on record and said that he does not like Rebecca.

[00:23:04] Period.

[00:23:05] He hates her.

[00:23:06] She's, she's, she's, she's too meek and she doesn't assert herself.

[00:23:10] And it's like, he's drawing this character on, he's just drawing this character on paper.

[00:23:15] He's like, God, I fucking hate this bitch already.

[00:23:18] He's like, he's like, Rebecca Chambers sucks, but he's like, ha ha ha.

[00:23:23] She's going to get killed early on.

[00:23:25] Created a character.

[00:23:26] What's wild is he hates this character in a world where fucking Ashley exists.

[00:23:30] He hates this character in a world where he made it up.

[00:23:34] Yeah, that's true.

[00:23:36] He could have done something different.

[00:23:38] No, he's like, I'm going to commit to hating this character.

[00:23:44] That's, uh, that's certainly cool to know, man.

[00:23:47] I, yeah, I didn't realize that everybody else kind of, well, maybe not everybody else, but I didn't realize that there'd be so many, like a consensus of like Resident Evil Zero isn't that great?

[00:23:56] Because when it, when it was reviewed, it got pretty good scores.

[00:23:59] I know like a, yeah, like a high B, low A's.

[00:24:03] I used to get those game pro magazines or whatever.

[00:24:06] And it used to be like, fantastic with like the little guy, like doing this thing.

[00:24:10] And I was like, oh shit, I got to fucking get this, I guess.

[00:24:13] And I got it on GameCube and I was like, this is not good.

[00:24:16] At the time it was probably great.

[00:24:18] New Resident Evil, the graphics for the time, and even the HD remaster looked, they looked great.

[00:24:23] So that's the thing.

[00:24:24] That is the thing.

[00:24:25] It does look good.

[00:24:26] It does look good.

[00:24:27] But this is at the same time when GameCube had exclusivity to that Resident Evil 1 remake, which blew my fucking mind when I played that for the first time.

[00:24:38] Oh, good, good segue.

[00:24:39] Yeah, real good segue.

[00:24:40] I 100% tried it.

[00:24:41] It was, it was, I planted those seeds.

[00:24:44] Yep.

[00:24:46] But yeah, the Resident Evil 1 remake on GameCube is a fantastic game and damn near flawless.

[00:24:54] They added shit to it.

[00:24:56] And like, yeah, I have played the original PS1 and it's great.

[00:25:01] It's a classic.

[00:25:02] I would never say like, oh, you should play the remake over the original.

[00:25:06] Just pick one.

[00:25:07] If you like fucking low poly shit and nostalgia for the PS1, play that shit.

[00:25:12] Still good.

[00:25:13] But like the way that they remade that, that remaster was like genius.

[00:25:19] And at the time I was like, holy shit.

[00:25:22] Like this has to be the best graphics I've seen on the GameCube.

[00:25:24] Like it has to be.

[00:25:25] It was insano back then.

[00:25:28] And the fucking crimson heads, you can get the fuck out of here.

[00:25:33] You can get all the way the fuck out of here with those.

[00:25:37] One of my favorite gaming enemies ever.

[00:25:40] Dude.

[00:25:41] Like the whole, the whole concept behind that enemy is, is amazing to me.

[00:25:45] So for, for the uninitiated, let me paint this picture.

[00:25:48] Can we like dim the lights up in here somewhere?

[00:25:50] Yeah.

[00:25:50] Yeah.

[00:25:51] Yeah.

[00:25:51] It's sexy.

[00:25:52] There we go.

[00:25:53] Yep.

[00:25:55] I appreciate that you guys tried.

[00:25:56] I, I, I, from bottom of my heart, I appreciate that.

[00:25:59] Aaron, you got any saxophone?

[00:26:00] Got, got some saxophone we could play maybe?

[00:26:04] Hold on.

[00:26:05] I thought Beth was going to be like, I have a saxophone.

[00:26:06] I'm going to be.

[00:26:09] There.

[00:26:10] And you're not.

[00:26:11] Sunlight.

[00:26:12] Wonderful.

[00:26:14] Beautiful.

[00:26:15] Beautiful.

[00:26:17] So, so, so in the Resident Evil one remake, you, when, when you take out a zombie in the

[00:26:24] original game, the original game, you take out a zombie, a pool of blood flows out and

[00:26:28] you know, you've killed it.

[00:26:29] You leave the room and you come back and the zombie's gone and whatever in the remake, the

[00:26:33] body remains for some reason.

[00:26:35] And it's kind of like, I don't know, maybe they're trying to keep things more realistic.

[00:26:38] They got more graphical power, more memory, whatever.

[00:26:40] But as you go throughout the mansion and you're trying to solve this mystery, the enemy, the

[00:26:47] zombie can actually come back as a crimson head zombie where their flesh is all red.

[00:26:55] But here's the thing.

[00:26:56] They're faster.

[00:26:57] They're deadlier.

[00:26:58] They run at you.

[00:26:59] They scream this inhuman kind of roar.

[00:27:02] And you don't know.

[00:27:03] Run at you.

[00:27:04] Do you remember the, the, the room that you first experienced one in?

[00:27:08] Do you remember that hallway with the mirrors on either end or whatever?

[00:27:12] Yeah.

[00:27:12] And like, yeah, you go in there as you're walking past one.

[00:27:16] Cause I mean, you, you go through this room, like how many times you're backtracking and

[00:27:19] like going through the room back and forth, back and forth.

[00:27:21] And then this one time in particular, as you're running past one of those zombies, it just lifts

[00:27:27] up and starts fucking dashing toward you.

[00:27:29] And I was just like, door, door, door, door, door, door.

[00:27:32] Like, and it just lets out this growl, man.

[00:27:35] And just like, just, and from that moment on, and this is why that enemy is so amazing

[00:27:41] because now from that moment on every regular zombie is a bigger threat.

[00:27:47] You don't know when they're going to come back.

[00:27:48] Now the game gives you the ability to actually burn the bodies with a lighter and fuel or

[00:27:53] flame rounds or whatever.

[00:27:55] Right.

[00:27:55] So you can burn them and they won't come back, but you can't do that to all the zombies

[00:27:59] in the game.

[00:27:59] So now you got to decide, do I let this zombie live and I just run around it and hope I don't

[00:28:04] get bit or do I kill it and then hope to God it doesn't come back as this murderous

[00:28:08] crimson head later.

[00:28:09] It was tension personified fucking.

[00:28:12] That's awesome.

[00:28:13] Genius game design.

[00:28:15] Yeah.

[00:28:15] I honestly think that I would say that the Resident Evil remaster is the best arguable

[00:28:23] case of actually you don't really need to play any other version than this one.

[00:28:27] Like, I think a lot of remakes are remastered.

[00:28:29] There is like a conversation to be had that like, you know, this doesn't change the old

[00:28:35] one.

[00:28:35] This remake doesn't change the quality of the other one.

[00:28:38] I think this is just definitively, honestly, a better complete version of this game.

[00:28:46] And this idea of like, to the crimson head point, I think the genius in that game is that

[00:28:53] every time you feel comfortable, something changes to make you uncomfortable again.

[00:28:59] So you get comfortable with the zombies, crimson head, you get comfortable with the crimson

[00:29:04] head.

[00:29:05] Here's hunters.

[00:29:06] You get like comfortable with the hunters.

[00:29:07] Now you're at the final boss.

[00:29:09] So it's like, you never really have, like, it always is like up in.

[00:29:12] And what's, what's the pacing?

[00:29:15] And Lisa, like that wasn't in the original.

[00:29:18] Fantastic edition, a fantastic edition.

[00:29:20] And also very fun little.

[00:29:23] So I watched, there was this guy, I watched like speed run the remake, like all the time.

[00:29:29] And he, that, that hallway with the two mirrors was like the murder hallway.

[00:29:36] It like, it kills runs.

[00:29:37] It ends runs.

[00:29:39] And there's like, there's this specific, like, there's a kind of like a movement you can take,

[00:29:43] but it does take off like 0.5 a second.

[00:29:47] So most people like just dash and like pray to God and cross their fingers and hope they

[00:29:53] can do it.

[00:29:53] Sometimes with those crimson heads, sometimes dashing is not enough because they are, they

[00:29:59] kind of like jigger jagger all over the place.

[00:30:02] It's great.

[00:30:03] Like the guards in oblivion.

[00:30:05] Stop right there.

[00:30:07] Lawbreaker.

[00:30:07] And they're like 40 yards away.

[00:30:09] They're sprinting up to you.

[00:30:11] As someone who loved oblivion and had got the, did not know what the gray, uh, Fox cowl

[00:30:18] was going to do.

[00:30:19] Uh, I learned very fast.

[00:30:22] The draw distance of those guards.

[00:30:25] Worst fucking thing ever.

[00:30:27] I need to, I need to beat that remake.

[00:30:30] I don't think I've ever beaten the original resident evil for some ass reason, but well, I'll

[00:30:36] make a point of doing that this year.

[00:30:38] Look at me doing a fucking episode about this series, but I haven't beaten most of the games.

[00:30:43] You'll, you'll enjoy it.

[00:30:44] I, well, I agree with you, Beth.

[00:30:46] I think the remake is the definitive way to play.

[00:30:47] I'll always have a special spot in my heart for the, for the OG.

[00:30:51] That, that was the game that turned me into a gamer.

[00:30:53] Cause that's, that's the moment I realized that games could be so much more than just a high

[00:30:58] score or, or leaps and bloops and all that sort of nonsense.

[00:31:02] Like leaps and bloops.

[00:31:03] Yeah.

[00:31:03] I love that.

[00:31:04] Yeah.

[00:31:04] Bloops were good, but God damn it.

[00:31:05] I couldn't get into the bloops.

[00:31:07] Fucking bloops.

[00:31:08] And the, and in a, in, I guess like an uncanny valley kind of way to those like early PS1

[00:31:14] graphics are also pretty fucking freaky at times.

[00:31:17] Like the very first zombie you come across and it's in that like PS1 low res.

[00:31:23] Yeah, dude, it's still pretty goddamn freaky.

[00:31:25] Yeah.

[00:31:26] It's just, yeah.

[00:31:28] It was to a point where I'll, I'll keep this short, but my favorite gaming memories,

[00:31:32] my dad brought this game home.

[00:31:33] I got it from a friend at work, I think.

[00:31:35] And he's like, this is resident evil.

[00:31:37] It's rated mature and you're not allowed to fucking watch me play it.

[00:31:40] Like what?

[00:31:41] Get the fuck out of the room.

[00:31:43] Little no man.

[00:31:44] My mom was never like that.

[00:31:46] My mom was like, Oh, that person's head got cut off.

[00:31:48] Maybe I should cover your eyes.

[00:31:51] No, man.

[00:31:51] Your dad just throws you out of the room by your ankles.

[00:31:54] Well, it was to a point where it was to a point where we, we, well, we had just gotten

[00:32:02] the, uh, the PlayStation one.

[00:32:03] So it was the first time, like we had like an up-res, like past the super Nintendo graphic

[00:32:08] style type of a game system.

[00:32:09] And it's like, he's like, there's blood, there's gore.

[00:32:12] And it's like, how bad could this possibly be?

[00:32:14] So like he'd play it.

[00:32:15] And I would sneak glances at this game through my bedroom door.

[00:32:18] Cause it was like catty quartered the living room.

[00:32:20] And like, I saw that first zombie, like turn his head and I squealed.

[00:32:24] And of course he turns around and sees me.

[00:32:25] He's like, what the fuck you doing back there?

[00:32:27] He does the same.

[00:32:30] Exactly.

[00:32:30] Son, what the fuck?

[00:32:33] But we ended up playing the game, not just together.

[00:32:36] He eventually let me play it with him, but he couldn't beat it.

[00:32:39] He kept dying.

[00:32:40] So I finally beat it with him and it was my favorite gaming memory with my stepdad.

[00:32:44] And that game was like, this, this is where games are going now.

[00:32:47] So let's, let's, let's go.

[00:32:49] I'm in.

[00:32:50] Yeah.

[00:32:50] It's a fantastic game.

[00:32:52] Hell yeah.

[00:32:54] Before, before we get to resident evil two, how do y'all feel about tank controls?

[00:32:58] Cause personally, I think they're, I think they're not as bad as everybody says.

[00:33:01] I fucking love a tank control, dude.

[00:33:03] I've gotten, I grew up with tank controls.

[00:33:05] Like I, the first two resident evils that I ever played were resident evil two and then

[00:33:09] resident evil three.

[00:33:11] And at first, yeah, of course.

[00:33:13] Like at first you're like, wait, what's happening right now?

[00:33:16] Like, like, you know, coming off of Mario 64 where you just move the fucking analog and

[00:33:20] Mario does like all kinds of crazy shit.

[00:33:22] But like, this was different because no matter what direction you were facing, if you just press

[00:33:27] up, you're just fucking, you're just motoring in that, in that direction.

[00:33:32] And I feel like it's one of those things that once it clicks, I can't, like, I, I rather

[00:33:40] go and play a lot of these resident evil games with tank controls.

[00:33:43] Even when they did like the first remastered at the remake of resident evil four and they

[00:33:48] added like the dual analog shit.

[00:33:50] I was like, nope, give me the, give me the fucking weird tank shit.

[00:33:53] Like I want the, I want the tank shit.

[00:33:55] Same thing when they re remastered resident evil one and brought it out like the HD collection

[00:34:00] thing.

[00:34:01] The re, the re, the re, re, re.

[00:34:05] Now we'll get into the kingdom hearts stuff.

[00:34:08] Oh boy.

[00:34:11] Triple antibiotic kingdom hearts.

[00:34:13] Re, rebirth diabetic.

[00:34:16] Birth by sleep.

[00:34:19] Best one.

[00:34:21] All right.

[00:34:23] Yeah.

[00:34:24] Resident evil dose.

[00:34:26] Doses indeed.

[00:34:28] A lot of people would say this is the best one.

[00:34:31] I would wholeheartedly agree with that.

[00:34:33] I, I, I find it hard to find an argument that would say otherwise it, it vastly improved

[00:34:40] on not just the original, um, but well, yeah, it improved on the original and, and more so

[00:34:46] the gameplay adding little, little quality of life adjustments, but more so the graphics

[00:34:50] were improved.

[00:34:51] The story was expanded.

[00:34:52] Um, you can play two characters in separate campaigns and then they had, I don't know why

[00:34:56] they called it this.

[00:34:57] They have the zapping system where what you do in one could influence the other, like

[00:35:01] not a ton, but enough.

[00:35:03] It's the best.

[00:35:04] Yes.

[00:35:05] Just it's done.

[00:35:06] Let's move on to number three.

[00:35:07] Cause what else is there to say?

[00:35:09] It is so genius.

[00:35:11] Yes.

[00:35:11] I'm sorry.

[00:35:12] Having the AB campaigns for like Claire and Leon also two of the best series.

[00:35:17] And then having then, um, it'd be like these little kind of like dialogues back and forth

[00:35:24] between them and like being like, Oh, do I pick up stuff here?

[00:35:28] So, cause maybe if I go on my other one, I need this here.

[00:35:31] I think that's just so smart.

[00:35:34] The replayability is like fantastic.

[00:35:37] And I think it's kind of when Resident Evil started to like start to get into considering

[00:35:43] replayability as a main aspect of their like core identity, which is something that I think

[00:35:49] they do pretty well.

[00:35:51] And, um, something I will talk a lot about when, uh, we get to the only one of the only

[00:35:57] ones that I've actually played, which is fine.

[00:35:59] But, um, I, I love to, and I think that, uh, that's such an interesting concept and idea

[00:36:04] and the remake is good and great and fantastic, but I actually think it kind of failed a little

[00:36:12] in not implementing that system fully, um, into it.

[00:36:17] In my opinion, I actually think that takes away a little from what makes two special.

[00:36:22] Yeah.

[00:36:23] I think I agree with that a little bit.

[00:36:24] I, one thing I want to add and I'll, I'll let you have it, Jerry, my, my favorite thing

[00:36:28] about Resident Evil two, everything you just mentioned, Beth, but I think my favorite thing

[00:36:33] is that new enemy type that they were, that they came out with the, the, the liquor.

[00:36:37] I'm sure we all remember the liquor the very first time, because if, if that one's pretty

[00:36:42] fucking iconic, it's not even just iconic, at least in my opinion, because of how it

[00:36:46] looks and acts and all that stuff.

[00:36:48] But I love the fact that it introduced this brand new, immediately more dangerous than

[00:36:53] a regular zombie enemy, like 15 minutes into this game.

[00:36:57] So now it's like, you're automatically, like you said before, you're out of your comfort

[00:37:01] zone.

[00:37:01] Yes.

[00:37:02] The whole game.

[00:37:03] Cause now you've got this thing floating around.

[00:37:04] You don't know how to attack it.

[00:37:06] It's all new.

[00:37:07] And it's right from the get go.

[00:37:08] It's, it's that kind of, of game design that they keep adding on.

[00:37:12] And that helps make two such a great experience too, on top of everything else.

[00:37:16] So just, I had, had to give a shout out to my favorite, the liquor.

[00:37:21] All the claps.

[00:37:24] Oh man.

[00:37:25] Take me to the pleasure dome.

[00:37:26] To the pleasure dome.

[00:37:28] I was, I was just going to say that.

[00:37:30] But, um, so a couple of fun facts about Resident Evil two.

[00:37:34] Number one, it is black magic that they managed to get that game on N64.

[00:37:41] That game was not supposed to exist on N64.

[00:37:45] It was compressed in a way that a lot of developers are like, don't know how this works.

[00:37:50] I have no idea how this works.

[00:37:52] Right.

[00:37:52] They still, they still kept the FMV scene.

[00:37:55] Yeah.

[00:37:55] They had fucking cut scenes.

[00:37:56] I mean, they were in like two beautiful.

[00:37:59] Like what was, was anything lost in the, the transition?

[00:38:03] I don't think so.

[00:38:05] Other than I know, I actually, cause like I, I was going to say, I think maybe the only

[00:38:09] thing that might've been missing is like all of the FMVs, but I feel like they were

[00:38:14] all there.

[00:38:16] It's crazy.

[00:38:17] It's crazy how they did that.

[00:38:19] It's, it's truly insane.

[00:38:23] And they Capcom was just fucking doing this.

[00:38:26] It was on the N64 because they did the same thing with Maga Man Legends.

[00:38:31] That also was not supposed to exist on N64.

[00:38:35] Too big.

[00:38:36] Holy shit.

[00:38:37] Yeah.

[00:38:38] The N64 version had different costumes.

[00:38:40] You could change the blood color.

[00:38:42] There was a randomizer.

[00:38:43] Yeah.

[00:38:43] Fucking that's, that's what I mean.

[00:38:46] Like not only did they get the game on there when it normally wouldn't have worked at all,

[00:38:51] they somehow managed to put more in, which is wild.

[00:38:57] That's insane.

[00:38:58] Another fun fact is this is the, the second game that I have ever played in my life.

[00:39:06] That was a scary game.

[00:39:07] First game was nightmare creatures, nightmare creatures.

[00:39:09] I walked back to the video store after renting it.

[00:39:12] Like I popped it in, something busted out of the wall.

[00:39:14] And I was like, Nope.

[00:39:16] And I walked back to the video store.

[00:39:19] You didn't even turn the power off.

[00:39:20] You were like, I took that N64.

[00:39:22] I took the fucking whole N64 with me.

[00:39:24] You're like, I'm good for the rest of my life.

[00:39:27] Same thing happened with Resident Evil 2.

[00:39:29] And it was with the liquor.

[00:39:30] As soon as I seen the liquor on the window, I was like, don't think I can do this.

[00:39:34] Nope.

[00:39:34] And I don't remember who it was I was hanging out with.

[00:39:38] They were like, well, just like try, like at least try.

[00:39:41] And I was like, I don't know, man.

[00:39:42] And you go through that door and then it shows the cut scene with the liquor.

[00:39:45] And then immediately it's just like panic.

[00:39:49] Just panic.

[00:39:50] Because I, like you said, Nomad, you don't know how to handle these things.

[00:39:54] They're too fast.

[00:39:55] They're jumping all over the fucking place.

[00:39:57] And yeah, I was like, I just, Nope.

[00:39:59] I'm going to, let's, let's go get, let's go get Buck Bumble again.

[00:40:02] Let's, let's, let's just take it fucking easy here.

[00:40:06] And yeah, that, that was a, that was a fun memory.

[00:40:10] I eventually did, you know, grow a set of fucking balls and played the game and beat it on the N64.

[00:40:18] Probably a year later after I actually started playing the games.

[00:40:23] But this is one of those rare cases again, where I will say the Resident Evil 2 remake,

[00:40:31] I believe is one of the greatest video games of all time.

[00:40:35] And I think it almost negates having to play the original at this point.

[00:40:42] It is unbelievably fine tuned and just is exactly what old Resident Evil fans wanted.

[00:40:51] Like they basically were like, okay, I'd like you to make a list, please, of the things that you want in the Resident Evil 2 remake.

[00:40:57] And then they were like, okay, we're going to check all of these boxes and then we're going to surprise you with other shit.

[00:41:03] And yeah, perfect video game.

[00:41:05] It's like a, that's like a 10 out of 10 for me personally.

[00:41:08] Those don't, I know they're not like, it's like a non-existent.

[00:41:12] Like 10 out of 10 shouldn't exist.

[00:41:13] Everything's a 10 out of 10 for Jerry.

[00:41:16] No.

[00:41:17] No.

[00:41:17] No.

[00:41:19] Just Goemon, Caveman games, anything with a caveman and a ninja.

[00:41:23] All the caveman games.

[00:41:24] Here he goes again with the Goemon.

[00:41:27] I'm just kidding.

[00:41:28] Yeah.

[00:41:29] I'm just kidding.

[00:41:30] I'm a Resident Evil 2 remake dude.

[00:41:34] Yeah.

[00:41:34] I'm 100% with you.

[00:41:35] I, I, having played the original obviously made the whole experience that much better because you saw all the callbacks and the parallels and stuff like that.

[00:41:43] But I know plenty of people that jumped into the Resident Evil series for the very first time playing the number two remake.

[00:41:50] And that made them fans for life because they, they treated that game with such care.

[00:41:55] They kept the source material and the overall feel and they added new ideas that didn't try to overshadow what made that game great before.

[00:42:02] It sounds simple to say it out loud because that's the key to a fantastic remake.

[00:42:06] But Capcom's like, no, we're doing this right.

[00:42:08] They did it right.

[00:42:09] They found a way to scare the shit out of me.

[00:42:11] And I'm pretty good about holding my own on these games.

[00:42:14] My balls dropped earlier than yours, Jerry.

[00:42:17] But.

[00:42:19] No.

[00:42:21] No.

[00:42:22] You know, no, but like, you know, how time works.

[00:42:28] You were born first.

[00:42:30] Okay.

[00:42:31] Semantics.

[00:42:32] Whatever.

[00:42:33] But no, seriously, it's a fantastic game.

[00:42:37] I actually go back to it every, every almost year now.

[00:42:41] I've played it every year since it's came out.

[00:42:42] And I still feel like it's fresh every single time.

[00:42:46] Like there's nothing better.

[00:42:48] There's not going to be anything better.

[00:42:50] There's going to be remakes that are going to be coming out for all sorts of games.

[00:42:53] There has been dead space, for instance.

[00:42:55] It will not touch Resident Evil two.

[00:42:57] I'm done signing off.

[00:42:58] I am.

[00:43:01] I like the Capcom has done a great job of making, for the most part, almost the whole, like the entire mainline series is readily and easily available on modern consoles.

[00:43:12] Maybe except for, I think, Code Veronica.

[00:43:14] I don't know if it's on PlayStation 5.

[00:43:17] Yeah.

[00:43:18] Code Veronica is on the PlayStation 4.

[00:43:19] I actually played it recently for my own podcast.

[00:43:22] Shameless plug.

[00:43:23] But I downloaded it on the PlayStation 5.

[00:43:26] So it's accessible.

[00:43:27] A hundred percent.

[00:43:28] Okay.

[00:43:28] Okay.

[00:43:29] Yeah.

[00:43:29] And it's on Xbox One as well too.

[00:43:30] I mean, yes, it's physically accessible.

[00:43:31] So that's good.

[00:43:31] As a game?

[00:43:33] I don't know.

[00:43:34] I watched Jerry play it and he was so bad at it.

[00:43:36] I don't believe he likes tank controls or knows how to play.

[00:43:39] I was like, Jerry, come the fuck on.

[00:43:42] This is so painful to watch.

[00:43:44] Okay.

[00:43:46] We'll get to that one in a sec.

[00:43:47] We got to do Nemesis first.

[00:43:51] I love watching people speedrun to remake.

[00:43:55] It's such a fun speedrun.

[00:43:57] But because I had watched it so many times, when Fuckface locks Sherry in the room.

[00:44:08] That's his official name.

[00:44:09] This is Fuckface.

[00:44:11] It should be.

[00:44:13] If it isn't already.

[00:44:14] In the credits, it's just like, Fuckface.

[00:44:16] Played by another Fuckface.

[00:44:18] Doors lock.

[00:44:20] I've watched that speedrun so many times that whenever I lock a door, I whisper under my breath,

[00:44:27] Doors lock.

[00:44:29] So that's the brain rot.

[00:44:31] Like that's the level of brain rot I have.

[00:44:34] I think, yeah, I think you talked about this on the horror games episode that we did for Super Ghost.

[00:44:40] Yeah, I'm pretty sure.

[00:44:41] The rot is taking over.

[00:44:42] I have no memories.

[00:44:43] That's fine.

[00:44:44] I say the same shit all the time.

[00:44:46] It's okay.

[00:44:47] Cut this out.

[00:44:47] Cut this out.

[00:44:48] No.

[00:44:49] No.

[00:44:49] It's staying in Resident Evil 3 now.

[00:44:52] Resident Evil 3 is good.

[00:44:54] The original Resident Evil 3 is fantastic.

[00:44:59] The remake?

[00:45:01] It's fine.

[00:45:02] Didn't they cut out the choices you could make?

[00:45:05] They cut out a lot.

[00:45:06] They cut out a bunch of other stuff?

[00:45:07] In Resident Evil 3, dude.

[00:45:08] No grab.

[00:45:08] A lot.

[00:45:09] They cut out so much shit.

[00:45:12] But I feel like all the things that they cut out, they just put more focus on making Carlos' hair fucking better.

[00:45:19] Which is so, he is his hair.

[00:45:21] Oh my God.

[00:45:22] So beautiful.

[00:45:24] They got the team together in like a fucking writer's room.

[00:45:27] And they're like, okay guys, so like, what are we working on now?

[00:45:29] And they're like, okay, so we got four teams working on Carlos' hair.

[00:45:33] We're up to about 15 million polygons in Carlos' hair alone now.

[00:45:37] Holy shit, it does look good.

[00:45:39] Jesus Christ.

[00:45:40] It is beautiful.

[00:45:42] Beautiful.

[00:45:43] That's what I'm saying.

[00:45:44] I don't remember much from the remake of Resident Evil 3.

[00:45:47] But now good Carlos is.

[00:45:48] I'm leaning forward.

[00:45:49] His hair is gorgeous.

[00:45:52] God damn.

[00:45:53] That's insane.

[00:45:54] Sorry, continue.

[00:45:54] I want to slightly say, also just interject here.

[00:45:58] I do think.

[00:45:59] I don't know.

[00:45:59] I'll allow it.

[00:46:00] We'll, you know, get the panel's opinion.

[00:46:03] But I think it's probably one of the best versions of Jill too.

[00:46:07] I think they did Jill really well in the remake.

[00:46:12] Her character model, yes.

[00:46:14] Her character model is beautiful too.

[00:46:15] But I actually liked her characterization a lot in the remake.

[00:46:21] Even though they did kind of leave out too many things.

[00:46:25] Yeah, they dropped the ball a little bit on that one.

[00:46:26] It's still good.

[00:46:27] It's not that it's a bad game.

[00:46:29] Yeah.

[00:46:30] Yeah, it's, it's, I agree with all that.

[00:46:32] I, I, I like her new characterization in the remake.

[00:46:34] I liked what they tried to do with her in the original.

[00:46:36] I liked, I liked the, I liked the original RE nemesis, but it was, what is it?

[00:46:42] It, it wasn't originally meant to be a mainline Resident Evil.

[00:46:46] That whole project, if I remember right, was actually a side game that they were developing.

[00:46:50] And they're like, you know what?

[00:46:52] No, we need to make this a mainline game.

[00:46:53] Throw Jill in there and have her escape the city.

[00:46:55] Cause that was the premise we were going to use with a nameless protagonist and go.

[00:46:59] So they, they didn't really have a lot of time to build a really big story, but they added some interesting things like the dodge mechanic when that worked 60% of the time.

[00:47:09] Um, that was interesting.

[00:47:12] Uh, the live selection thing.

[00:47:14] I think Aaron, you mentioned that earlier.

[00:47:16] I love the idea that when you're in certain situations of immediate danger, you're given a choice, which can change the story or your immediate circumstances.

[00:47:25] So there's that replay value, Beth, that they're trying to build into the series.

[00:47:29] So that's all there.

[00:47:31] And, and, and everything else about it.

[00:47:33] I mean, it was a good experience.

[00:47:34] It was, it was, it was good, but then the remake, yeah, they, they took out too much.

[00:47:39] They, they, they reworked some things better like Jill's character, but they took out the clock tower segment.

[00:47:45] Carlos's hair.

[00:47:46] Don't forget Carlos's hair.

[00:47:47] How dare I?

[00:47:48] Shaggy as shit.

[00:47:49] The hospital, the hospital up until the horde part where like you just were spending 15 minutes.

[00:47:55] But up until that, it was the, I liked the hospital a lot.

[00:47:59] And then there was that part and you're like, this feels like filler.

[00:48:02] Right.

[00:48:03] Exactly.

[00:48:03] It's like, hold off this wave of zombies for some reason or another.

[00:48:06] It's like, yeah, I felt very out of place.

[00:48:08] And then the last half of the game was just rushed.

[00:48:10] So it's like, I, I, I still enjoyed playing it.

[00:48:14] I platinum did it because I'm just a sucker for okay games, but I, I equate the resident evil three remake to a cheeseburger.

[00:48:22] A cheeseburger is good.

[00:48:23] You're always going to enjoy a cheeseburger.

[00:48:25] Is it a steak?

[00:48:26] No, but you're going to eat it anyway.

[00:48:29] So that's where I'm at with that.

[00:48:32] Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like I heard, you know, I don't remember.

[00:48:36] I don't think I was paying attention to these types of games at the time, but I remember people talking about like when three originally came out,

[00:48:44] but it was also kind of pretty divisive and contentious and people kind of like, oh, it's the black sheep of the family.

[00:48:50] And now with the remakes, it's almost like it had a chance to correct.

[00:48:54] And then they repeat it instead.

[00:48:55] So like they ended up creating three remake, which is sort of considered to be a little bit worse than all the other remakes they've been doing.

[00:49:05] I think that's probably pretty true.

[00:49:07] I personally think the original resident evil three is actually really good.

[00:49:14] Yeah, I think people, if I remember correctly, I was told that it was not super great or like it was a little bit at the time it was received a little bit like mix.

[00:49:24] And then as time went on, people have become more positive on it.

[00:49:29] Beth, do I have a story for you?

[00:49:31] Is that correct or am I really wrong?

[00:49:34] According to our, hold on, I'm trying to do the finger thing.

[00:49:36] According to our good friend Wikipedia, the official third co-host of the show, Resident Evil 3 got really good reviews actually.

[00:49:45] Metacritic 91 out of 100.

[00:49:48] Then I have been lied to.

[00:49:50] That's still just professional reviews though and not like consumer word of mouth.

[00:49:54] So maybe that is true.

[00:49:56] Maybe that's true.

[00:49:57] I said correct me if I'm wrong because that was my understanding.

[00:49:59] And most of my experience with anything that's before like five has been really distilled through the people who I watch like speed run or play.

[00:50:14] So that's, and they're, you know, they probably weren't there either.

[00:50:18] They're young.

[00:50:19] I found that there was one thing.

[00:50:23] It wasn't even about like they cut some of the stuff out of Resident Evil 3 that didn't sit right with me.

[00:50:28] Is the fact that I played the original Resident Evil 3 and at all times, every goddamn second of that game, I was scared of Nemesis.

[00:50:38] The entire time.

[00:50:40] After hanging out with Nemesis for like 20 minutes in the remake, you're like, can you fuck off, dude?

[00:50:46] Seriously?

[00:50:47] I'm trying to do a puzzle or like, I'm just trying to get to this thing.

[00:50:51] You're not scary.

[00:50:53] Booga, booga, booga, booga.

[00:50:54] Yeah, it's kind of like you did Nemesis better.

[00:50:56] Yeah.

[00:50:57] You're the cowardly dog.

[00:50:59] Booga, booga, booga, booga.

[00:51:01] Stupid dog.

[00:51:01] Booga.

[00:51:02] Like, I just, I don't know.

[00:51:04] There was something about him.

[00:51:04] He just became annoying, which was like, okay, you fucked up like the main thing for this game because Nemesis, I would argue.

[00:51:13] It's literally in the name.

[00:51:14] Yeah.

[00:51:15] Like, he's the, that was the big takeaway from Resident Evil 3 was the fact that like you were never safe from this guy.

[00:51:21] He was constantly in pursuit and it was like always intense.

[00:51:24] But yeah, they just made him annoying in Resident Evil 3.

[00:51:28] But I mean.

[00:51:29] I kind of wish.

[00:51:30] Yeah, I don't know, man.

[00:51:31] I wish, I wish.

[00:51:32] I kind of wish that.

[00:51:35] It'd be cool if like in the Resident Evil remakes for like one, two and three and all those.

[00:51:40] It'd be cool if they included like the original game as an unlockable within the game.

[00:51:44] Somehow, that'd be kind of cool.

[00:51:46] Or do like the Dragon Quest thing where you can like switch on the fly to like the original.

[00:51:51] You just need an HD 2D remake of RE3.

[00:51:56] Holy fuck.

[00:51:58] Okay.

[00:51:58] And make it turn based.

[00:52:00] HD 3D 2D.

[00:52:03] Yeah.

[00:52:04] 4D 3D 2D.

[00:52:06] Minecraft voxel.

[00:52:08] Yeah, let's just do that.

[00:52:10] God damn it.

[00:52:12] Imagine being in like a place.

[00:52:14] So you're playing the Resident Evil 3 remake and you're in some part that wasn't in the original game and you try to switch to the original game.

[00:52:20] Oh yeah.

[00:52:20] It's like, errrr.

[00:52:22] Will not load.

[00:52:24] No.

[00:52:25] I think we all kind of agree to some degree on the state of Resident Evil 3.

[00:52:33] Don't rhyme so much.

[00:52:36] I'm not, I'm not.

[00:52:37] Awesome.

[00:52:37] It's starting to sound like fucking Dr. Seuss over here.

[00:52:41] It's fine.

[00:52:41] He's a cool guy.

[00:52:42] Kind of.

[00:52:43] No, he wasn't.

[00:52:43] Wasn't he an asshole to people?

[00:52:46] Didn't he get kids?

[00:52:46] Yeah, he was terrible.

[00:52:48] He was terrible.

[00:52:49] He was terrible to his wife or something, I remember.

[00:52:52] Like she was dying of cancer and he did something.

[00:52:54] I don't know.

[00:52:55] Continue.

[00:52:57] Code Veronica.

[00:52:58] Oh.

[00:52:59] That's a great segue.

[00:53:01] Oh.

[00:53:01] Yes.

[00:53:02] His wife was dying of cancer.

[00:53:03] He was dead too, so don't worry.

[00:53:06] Speaking of which, let's talk about this game that made me want to die from cancer.

[00:53:12] Drew was having a bad time.

[00:53:14] I, dude, this game needs a remake or something because like, I didn't think it was as good

[00:53:20] as people say it is.

[00:53:22] And I played it.

[00:53:23] Oh man.

[00:53:24] Was it two years ago we did that on Twitch?

[00:53:26] Yeah, Bo, I think.

[00:53:28] That makes sense.

[00:53:28] That makes sense.

[00:53:29] I don't know.

[00:53:30] Time's all condensed, flat, circled.

[00:53:33] What is time?

[00:53:34] What is time?

[00:53:36] So what was it, Jerry, that you didn't really click with?

[00:53:39] Because I'm curious because I might rebuttal you here.

[00:53:42] I kind of like Veronica a little bit.

[00:53:44] Bite him to the death.

[00:53:45] Yep.

[00:53:46] Full disclosure.

[00:53:47] After listening to the entirety of Nomad's episode on my four-hour drive back to my fucking

[00:53:53] hometown, it sounds pretty good and I understand.

[00:53:58] Yeah, go ahead.

[00:53:58] Okay.

[00:53:59] Continue.

[00:53:59] I just thought that the gameplay loop of Code Veronica was kind of boring to me.

[00:54:09] I didn't really find myself enjoying the areas that much.

[00:54:14] There was something about it that I was like, hmm.

[00:54:18] And again, I'm not ashamed to say I was constantly comparing it to other Resident Evil games.

[00:54:24] But this isn't the mansion.

[00:54:26] This isn't the fucking police station.

[00:54:28] It's not these things.

[00:54:30] I don't know.

[00:54:30] It's something different.

[00:54:31] But I don't know.

[00:54:33] There's something that just didn't click with me.

[00:54:34] But I will say my favorite part of that whole game is when Steve is trapped inside of a room

[00:54:42] and he's banging on a computer.

[00:54:44] And you're supposed to save him.

[00:54:46] But I was like, actually, this is pretty funny.

[00:54:49] And I went over and if you look through the window, it just shows him banging.

[00:54:53] And then it just subtitles Steve is suffering.

[00:54:56] And I was like, I want to get that on a fucking show.

[00:55:01] Steve is suffering.

[00:55:03] Yeah.

[00:55:04] They had a huge missed opportunity with that character.

[00:55:09] And I defend him a little bit when I talk to him in my own episode.

[00:55:13] I like what they tried to make out of him.

[00:55:15] But just no.

[00:55:17] The voice acting was terrible.

[00:55:18] His whole character arc was awful.

[00:55:20] And I did the same thing, too.

[00:55:22] And I found out that when you beat Code Veronica and you get your end rank,

[00:55:26] your ranking will change a little bit depending on how quick you saved him.

[00:55:30] So I never perfected this game because I never fucking saved him quickly.

[00:55:34] Because his suffering is funny.

[00:55:37] Especially when you wait for, I don't know, 10 minutes.

[00:55:40] And then you finally do the puzzle.

[00:55:42] And then he just sprawls out of this thing like, oh my god.

[00:55:46] It's just like, that's what you get, you dick.

[00:55:49] Wasn't he supposed to be Leon?

[00:55:51] Wasn't that the original direction for his character?

[00:55:54] Weren't they trying to put Leon in this?

[00:55:55] And they were like, actually, maybe we don't.

[00:55:58] And then they changed it like the last minute or something.

[00:56:00] I swear, I did not dream this.

[00:56:02] I seen this somewhere.

[00:56:03] I heard that, too.

[00:56:04] But I've also clearly been hearing wrong information already.

[00:56:09] I've never heard that.

[00:56:10] So anything's possible, really.

[00:56:13] All I know is at one point, I think...

[00:56:14] Maybe I heard it from Beth.

[00:56:16] Could be!

[00:56:17] I'm just kind of missing...

[00:56:18] I am the disinformation machine.

[00:56:20] Well, when this game originally came out on the Sega Dreamcast, I think it was Steve's character design and the way that he had his hair.

[00:56:28] What?

[00:56:28] They got in trouble because he looked like, what?

[00:56:30] Leonardo DiCaprio?

[00:56:31] Leonardo DiCaprio.

[00:56:32] Right.

[00:56:32] So new versions of the game, they had his hairstyle changed up because...

[00:56:37] I just couldn't get over how he talked like Link from the fucking Zelda cartoon.

[00:56:40] He was like, well, excuse me!

[00:56:43] He was so fucking like, get the fuck out of here, Steve.

[00:56:46] I know this guy.

[00:56:46] I can't wait for you to suffer again.

[00:56:49] Yeah.

[00:56:49] Yeah.

[00:56:50] I don't know.

[00:56:51] I like Code Veronica overall, obviously.

[00:56:54] That's kind of my opinion of it.

[00:56:56] But Gary, I do agree.

[00:56:57] And I had the same feelings too.

[00:57:00] The way this game is structured is there's a lot more backtracking than your usual Resident Evil game.

[00:57:07] Like backtracking is just kind of a staple in survival horror.

[00:57:09] You got to go do the thing and then you find the key item you need.

[00:57:12] Then you go back and do the...

[00:57:13] It's just what it is.

[00:57:14] But you're constantly going back to the same area.

[00:57:17] So yeah, they get old after a while.

[00:57:19] Plus there's areas like...

[00:57:22] There's one underground area with this giant-ass aquarium in one corner and then luggage in another.

[00:57:28] And it's just this big open gray area.

[00:57:31] There's a lot of those kind of empty spaces when you're walking around.

[00:57:34] So there's not a lot of environmental eye candy, I guess, to say.

[00:57:38] So I agree with you.

[00:57:40] Pacing was bad.

[00:57:41] And you're in the same areas all the time.

[00:57:43] So it's really hard to connect with the game in that way.

[00:57:46] So that's the one thing I'll agree with you on.

[00:57:49] Other than that, as an original OE type of Resident Evil, I really liked it a lot.

[00:57:58] Granted, the character animations were stiff as a board sometimes.

[00:58:01] Like if you're trying to pivot Claire around on your old tank control kind of thing.

[00:58:05] She looks like a fucking mannequin.

[00:58:06] Oh, hell yeah.

[00:58:07] But...

[00:58:08] Like in Final Fantasy X.

[00:58:09] Anytime anybody turns around, they're just like...

[00:58:12] Hang on, I'm trying to get my hair like...

[00:58:13] Zoot!

[00:58:14] Zoot!

[00:58:14] And all their legs would move in place.

[00:58:16] And then, you know, it's the best.

[00:58:18] Right.

[00:58:18] But I liked what they tried to do.

[00:58:20] I liked some of the little gameplay additions too.

[00:58:22] Like you could dual wield guns for some asinine reason.

[00:58:25] Like, okay.

[00:58:26] That's fun, I suppose.

[00:58:27] I liked what they tried to do.

[00:58:29] Um, I liked how...

[00:58:31] I liked the story.

[00:58:32] It's one of those you have to read a lot of the files to really get a lot of the backstory.

[00:58:36] But for a Resident Evil story, I thought that was one of the more interesting ones.

[00:58:41] I...

[00:58:41] Right behind Leon, Claire is my second favorite Resident Evil character.

[00:58:45] I've got a...

[00:58:46] Ugh, I love her to death.

[00:58:47] So I love playing as her.

[00:58:49] And just...

[00:58:49] I liked it overall.

[00:58:51] It still will never be my favorite.

[00:58:53] But I have a soft spot for that game.

[00:58:57] Claire's my favorite.

[00:58:58] So, like, you know, I really like that game.

[00:59:01] But, uh, actually, I love the story of Code Veronica so much.

[00:59:06] I think the twins are really interesting villains.

[00:59:09] Um, they're, like, like really eccentric.

[00:59:12] I'll give you that, yeah.

[00:59:12] Uh, and I like that as a kind of, um, other side of, like, like the villains of this, like, you know, oppressive organization.

[00:59:24] Or everything else is, like, serious.

[00:59:26] And you've got these weird-ass twins.

[00:59:27] And I love them for that.

[00:59:29] Um...

[00:59:29] I don't know who did Alfred's voice acting.

[00:59:31] But he put his heart and soul into that thing.

[00:59:34] That man had to feed his children.

[00:59:36] Like, it was so good.

[00:59:38] I love him.

[00:59:41] I love the story.

[00:59:42] And it feels like the, like, with the confrontation at the very end of the game with, like, Chris and Wesker,

[00:59:47] it does feel like more of a conclusion to, like, the Raccoon City umbrella, like, um, stuff then.

[00:59:54] Maybe, like, that's, like, the, like, fullest conclusion I feel like we got for, like, ever.

[01:00:00] I don't know if I, if it's really been a good one.

[01:00:04] Because then you pick up with, like, you know, the next four.

[01:00:06] And it's like, well, we're done with that.

[01:00:08] And you're like, but you built this up for all this time.

[01:00:12] And then it's, like, kind of concluded in a kind of forgotten about side game in a way.

[01:00:17] And I, like, kind of sucks.

[01:00:19] Yeah, they made that conscious effort, too.

[01:00:21] Like, uh, the way I understand the story, um, Code Veronica, I think, was going to originally star Jill

[01:00:27] before they threw her on number three.

[01:00:28] But at the, but at the end of Resident Evil 2, if you're, if you're playing Claire's, I think, scenario B,

[01:00:34] she, she says, I have to find my brother.

[01:00:37] And then they end it.

[01:00:38] And apparently that was not supposed to have been in the script.

[01:00:41] And someone made a last minute change.

[01:00:43] And they're like, oh, shit.

[01:00:44] Now we have this cliffhanger.

[01:00:45] We have to have Claire go find her brother.

[01:00:47] So they put her in this game, put Chris in this game, added Wesker, tied up all these loose ends.

[01:00:53] And from a story perspective, it's actually done really well.

[01:00:56] It's just a lot of the gameplay was, was a miss.

[01:00:59] Like, speaking of Chris, you play as him as in the second half of the game.

[01:01:03] But like the first third of his play is just a waste.

[01:01:06] You're going through areas that Claire has already been in to, to solve all these puzzles.

[01:01:11] And only two major plot points happen.

[01:01:14] Chris figures out that Claire's in Antarctica and he finds a plane to get there.

[01:01:19] Everything else in those four hours of you trying to solve puzzles means jack squat.

[01:01:23] And it shouldn't even have been in the game.

[01:01:26] I agree.

[01:01:26] I think that like, I like you do all of the island with Claire and then just switch to Chris being in Antarctica and like do that part with him.

[01:01:35] And I liked having a game with this, like the siblings, you know, actually playable, both of them being playable together, even though I know you're not like co-op or anything.

[01:01:43] But it's nice to have them.

[01:01:45] It's like the only like family dynamic you have up until that point.

[01:01:51] So it's kind of cool to have them see that through.

[01:01:56] And, and yeah, Claire's just my fucking favorite.

[01:02:00] And I want her to be in everything.

[01:02:03] So.

[01:02:04] Well, you know, she's not in, she's not in Resident Evil four and God damn it.

[01:02:09] That's, that's up there.

[01:02:11] That's a, that's one of the ones man.

[01:02:14] That's like one of the ones that I, I played Resident Evil four so much that I maxed out the amount of money you can carry.

[01:02:22] Like I had no reason to keep playing.

[01:02:24] Like, yeah, dude, I will never forget.

[01:02:29] Finally getting to play Resident Evil four on GameCube back in the day, like launch month.

[01:02:36] It was in the window of the month that it came out.

[01:02:39] And I just remember being like, oh, this is something else.

[01:02:43] Like this is way different.

[01:02:45] I'm scared.

[01:02:46] An entirely new beast.

[01:02:48] Yeah.

[01:02:48] Like it was a, it was a completely different spin on Resident Evil, but somehow they were, they managed to be like, no, we get it.

[01:02:58] Like you guys are protective over this, this franchise and how it operates.

[01:03:03] But hear us out.

[01:03:05] We want to try something different.

[01:03:07] How about we take one of the fucking coolest characters, give him even more quips, put him in an even cooler.

[01:03:17] The best jacket.

[01:03:19] Yeah.

[01:03:19] The best jacket.

[01:03:20] The best hair.

[01:03:21] The best one.

[01:03:22] Halfway through.

[01:03:22] Terrible.

[01:03:23] And like put him in a fucking awesome environment that had like just such tightly knit exploration.

[01:03:31] Like not, not, you know, you're not fucking going around and exploring an open world or anything, but it was like, it was just so cool how they like loop different things around, back around through that whole, that whole.

[01:03:44] The whole village and shit.

[01:03:45] And then the castle, like there was so, it was like a return to making that franchise fresh again and just putting their foot down and being like, no, we are the fucking kings of survival horror.

[01:03:58] Here's why.

[01:04:00] And it just, it fucking blew me away.

[01:04:02] And then, you know, fast forward to, what was that last year?

[01:04:07] But the remake.

[01:04:09] Holy fucking shit.

[01:04:10] I was, and I'll admit, I was one of the people that was like kind of on a soapbox going, do we need this?

[01:04:16] Like seriously, this game is not even that old.

[01:04:19] And then I started like doing the math and I'm like, actually, this game is kind of old now.

[01:04:24] What the fuck?

[01:04:25] And then.

[01:04:25] That happened.

[01:04:26] I know.

[01:04:27] Like, wait, it's how old?

[01:04:30] And, you know, I was, I was reluctant to kind of sign onto this.

[01:04:35] And then I, the more I thought about it, I'm like, you know, I bet this is still probably going to be good.

[01:04:40] And then the more I seen about it, I was like, oh fuck, I gotta, I gotta get this game.

[01:04:44] And God damn it.

[01:04:46] They blew my expectations out of the water because they added shit in.

[01:04:50] Like if you were familiar with the game, like Nomad, you and I are probably the same.

[01:04:54] You probably knew every nook and cranny, every fucking gun location, where to find this spindles, fucking medallions.

[01:05:02] Like the broken butterfly.

[01:05:03] How to get that super fucking early.

[01:05:05] Like I, yeah, I knew fucking everything inside and out.

[01:05:09] So when you play the remake, when you're like, oh, I know what's up in that tower.

[01:05:14] Some ammo.

[01:05:15] I'm gonna go up there.

[01:05:16] And then the tower fucking collapses on you.

[01:05:18] And you're like, what the fuck is this?

[01:05:20] Like they started pulling the rug out from, from underneath like veterans, people who were familiar with the game.

[01:05:26] I like the idea of like someone from Capcom come, like throwing open the door, slapping you across the face and going, you thought bitch.

[01:05:33] Like, you know, that's exactly what they did with that game.

[01:05:41] It goes back to resident evil two remake.

[01:05:42] They, they kept the source material.

[01:05:44] They kept the feel of it and they added those things and, and they tweak just enough to create a unique experience.

[01:05:51] And that was, that was that moment, Jerry, when I, when I was falling through the tower, like mid fall time slowed down.

[01:05:58] My eyes got wide and I'm like, they fucking did it.

[01:06:01] This is, this is new and exciting again.

[01:06:03] And I'm all in.

[01:06:04] And from that point on, everything was new and fresh, new, new things that they implemented.

[01:06:09] I loved how they implemented that knife, right?

[01:06:13] Where in the original resident evil four, it was right.

[01:06:16] Just spam the hell out of it.

[01:06:18] You shoot someone in the head, do a roundhouse Chuck Norris style, kick to the face, lean Leon down on his little pivot, whatever that slice.

[01:06:27] That was the only way to slice them up, save that.

[01:06:30] Right.

[01:06:30] Right.

[01:06:31] But, but, but now it's a Perry mechanic and just, it, it added a new and interesting wrinkle that didn't feel like it was sabotaging what made the game good originally.

[01:06:44] And if there's anything that's to me, the most, the most memorable thing about this game is how they redeemed arguably the most annoying character in this fucking series and made Ashley Graham likable.

[01:06:58] And gave her a personality, gave her a character.

[01:07:02] Even her section.

[01:07:03] Like, her section.

[01:07:04] Help, Leon.

[01:07:04] Oh my God.

[01:07:05] Oh my God.

[01:07:06] Fuck, dude.

[01:07:07] They ate her up too, so they're like, we're not creeping on 16 year olds.

[01:07:10] A little bit.

[01:07:12] Here's a fun fact.

[01:07:14] Did you know that the original voice actress for Ashley in the OG Resident Evil 4 is the same voice actress that does Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob SquarePants?

[01:07:23] I could see it now.

[01:07:24] What?

[01:07:25] Now that you've put a name to the name.

[01:07:27] Put that in my head, yeah.

[01:07:28] Yeah.

[01:07:28] Wait a second.

[01:07:29] I'm only just now piecing in together Sandy Cheeks.

[01:07:33] Like, Sandy Ass Cheeks.

[01:07:37] I was today years old.

[01:07:40] Oh my Jerry.

[01:07:41] There you go.

[01:07:41] You come to the Super Pods, so I gotta learn shit.

[01:07:43] And there you go.

[01:07:44] Exactly.

[01:07:45] One of the coolest things I liked that they did with the Resident Evil 4 remake was it feels way more survival horror than the original Resident Evil 4 did.

[01:07:54] Because in Resident Evil 4, like the original, I was always, always up to my nips and ammo.

[01:08:00] I was just completely fucking inundated with handgun ammo.

[01:08:04] But with the remake, shit was way more sparse.

[01:08:07] You didn't have nearly as many green herbs stockpiled in your fucking cool Samsonite briefcase.

[01:08:14] It's, you, yeah, it just felt like you had to ration more supplies.

[01:08:18] You weren't as, you couldn't tank as many hits in the remake, which I like.

[01:08:22] But yeah, it was an awesome fucking remake, man.

[01:08:25] They nailed it.

[01:08:26] It was a fantastic gamble originally when they made the first Resident Evil 4 to take the series in a new direction, inject new life into it, and find a way to just continue this wonderful legacy.

[01:08:40] It's one of the greatest games ever made, and they remade it and made it even better-er.

[01:08:44] So tip of my non-existent cap.

[01:08:49] And not even that, they, like the original GameCube version already had pretty goddamn great replayability, because you get the infinite rocket launcher, and it's like, okay, I guess I'll fucking speedrun this shit.

[01:09:00] Just blast my way through everything.

[01:09:02] And then, I think it was like the PS2 version.

[01:09:05] They were like, hey, if you beat it on professional, you get a cool laser gun.

[01:09:08] And then you do that.

[01:09:10] And then the fucking mercenaries mode.

[01:09:12] Oh my god, that shit was so much fun.

[01:09:14] Yeah.

[01:09:15] Yeah.

[01:09:15] It got even better with 5, but yeah, I had way too much fun playing as Krauser and the mercenaries and trying my goddamnedest to get that hand cannon, dude.

[01:09:26] And here's something else, too, and I kind of get everyone's feelings on this.

[01:09:31] This game had quick time events that I actually found enjoyable.

[01:09:35] Yeah.

[01:09:36] Yeah.

[01:09:36] They weren't terrible.

[01:09:37] I don't, hey, I think quick time events aren't bad when they're implemented in like a set piece moment.

[01:09:45] It's just when they're overused and then like done to death as an, like the industry, the gaming industry, just like every fucking game had quick time events every 15 minutes.

[01:09:56] That's exhausting.

[01:09:58] But like when they're smartly implemented, it does help like escalate or bring tension to a moment.

[01:10:05] Like Spider-Man does like really good quick time events.

[01:10:09] So like.

[01:10:10] Especially when you fail that one certain one I'm thinking of.

[01:10:13] I'm gonna die.

[01:10:16] I don't think this is so much fun.

[01:10:18] So it can be done.

[01:10:19] It can be done right.

[01:10:20] There you go.

[01:10:21] And they don't punish you too hard for failing those quick time events in Resident Evil 4 either.

[01:10:25] Cause it's just like, usually you're not too, well I guess they just like checkpoint you from where you died.

[01:10:32] Unless I'm thinking incorrectly.

[01:10:34] But like, it'll be like Leon running from that fucking boulder, Indiana Jones style.

[01:10:38] And then God forbid you don't go one way.

[01:10:40] And then he gets smushed.

[01:10:41] And then it's like, reload your save.

[01:10:44] Yeah.

[01:10:44] And boom, you're right there.

[01:10:45] Run!

[01:10:46] Beth, do you remember what Greg did to me with the fish?

[01:10:54] Oh my gosh, you never knew!

[01:10:56] Oh my god.

[01:10:57] I didn't know.

[01:10:58] He was like, dude, you can unlock like a fucking sweet fucking weapon early.

[01:11:03] And I was like, what?

[01:11:05] What?

[01:11:05] No.

[01:11:06] Are you serious?

[01:11:07] He was like, do it.

[01:11:08] Just go up and shoot this, like these fish.

[01:11:10] And I was like, okay.

[01:11:11] Okay.

[01:11:12] And then my fucking soul left my body.

[01:11:16] So if you don't know, if you go to the lake, before you get into the boat, on the wharf, there's like some fish.

[01:11:25] And if you shoot the fish, I think if you shoot them enough, like if you just keep shooting the water,

[01:11:29] the giant fucking sea monster that you fight out on the lake, like does a jump scare.

[01:11:35] It comes out of the water at you.

[01:11:37] Yeah.

[01:11:37] Well, it doesn't just come out of the water at you.

[01:11:39] It fucking kills you.

[01:11:40] Fuck it kills you.

[01:11:41] It fucking kills you.

[01:11:42] And that's funny.

[01:11:43] You were tempted with a weapon.

[01:11:45] I was tempted with just see what happens.

[01:11:47] And I was left with just morbid curiosity.

[01:11:49] Like, all right, I'll see what happens.

[01:11:51] And oh my God.

[01:11:52] I lost a friend that day.

[01:11:56] My friend who got me.

[01:11:58] So like I started playing with five, but the friend who got me into it was like, I'll run through four.

[01:12:05] Like, let me, let me do this.

[01:12:09] So I was watching her play through four and she just was like, do to do.

[01:12:14] I'm just going to go over by this lake and shoot at the water a couple of times.

[01:12:18] And then the thing came up and I was like, you bitch, you motherfucker.

[01:12:23] She's like cackling.

[01:12:25] What I, what I liked about the Resident Evil two or four remake is they kept that in there.

[01:12:30] Yeah.

[01:12:31] So, so the first thing I did was I'm going to go see if I can get my ass eaten.

[01:12:34] But there was just enough.

[01:12:37] Oh yeah.

[01:12:38] There was always a Denny's.

[01:12:40] Maybe I should have worded that differently.

[01:12:42] Anyway.

[01:12:43] Nope.

[01:12:43] Beautiful.

[01:12:44] Love it.

[01:12:44] I came to Spain to get my ass ate.

[01:12:47] A lot of people's experience.

[01:12:50] I mean, I would.

[01:12:52] Are we still talking about Resident Evil four?

[01:12:54] Yeah.

[01:12:55] By the way, I love.

[01:12:56] It's a quick time event.

[01:12:58] I love the use of eggs in this fucking game.

[01:13:01] It's so stupid.

[01:13:02] You could just like chuck eggs at enemies and blind them.

[01:13:04] Like, oh, why the fuck would you do that?

[01:13:06] But of course the Spanish.

[01:13:08] Or you could just eat the egg and Leon doesn't fucking die.

[01:13:12] But I mean, that's just.

[01:13:13] He heals wounds.

[01:13:15] Egg to the face.

[01:13:17] He just rockies that shit.

[01:13:18] Don't do it.

[01:13:18] Don't do it.

[01:13:18] Don't do it.

[01:13:19] Don't do it.

[01:13:19] Don't do it.

[01:13:20] Don't do it.

[01:13:20] Don't do it.

[01:13:21] Don't do it.

[01:13:21] Don't do it.

[01:13:22] Don't do it.

[01:13:23] Don't do it.

[01:13:23] Don't do it.

[01:13:23] 22%.

[01:13:24] Spanish.

[01:13:29] Yeah, you just shoot a zombie in their head and blows up.

[01:13:31] It's like Mission Worldwide.

[01:13:32] Right.

[01:13:33] For those of you that haven't played it before or haven't played it a long time, you don't

[01:13:36] need to now.

[01:13:36] This is the experience.

[01:13:38] This is it, man.

[01:13:40] Dude.

[01:13:40] Dude.

[01:13:40] Oh my God.

[01:13:41] The Iron Maidens.

[01:13:43] Get the fuck out of here.

[01:13:44] Which ones were those?

[01:13:45] That's those fucking crazy like twitchy dudes that you had to use like the infrared scope

[01:13:50] to kill.

[01:13:51] Oh.

[01:13:51] Yeah, the regenerators and then.

[01:13:54] You need to shoot those little parasites inside of them?

[01:13:56] Yeah, the regenerators were your standard ones, the big hulking gray things that had

[01:14:00] that kind of sound or whatever it was.

[01:14:03] And then those Iron Maidens you're talking about are the same enemy type, but they got

[01:14:06] these spikes coming out of you.

[01:14:07] Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:14:08] So like they'll grab you and just pull you into themselves and you're just fucking skewered

[01:14:13] like a kebab.

[01:14:14] It's like.

[01:14:15] They're the hugs.

[01:14:15] The most unsettling part of that enemy is the first time that you finally like, like

[01:14:20] kind of not knowing what you're supposed to do or like even after you like shoot one

[01:14:25] of the little like red orb thingies and they go down and you're like, oh, okay.

[01:14:29] It's down.

[01:14:30] And then they slither.

[01:14:31] Yeah.

[01:14:32] Like they do like a snake slither on the ground.

[01:14:34] Fuck all that.

[01:14:36] That was gross.

[01:14:39] Oh yeah.

[01:14:39] By the way, gigantic shout out to the, the attachment, like weapon attachment system.

[01:14:45] Cause that shit is so good.

[01:14:48] Like the way you can just like pick and choose different weapons and customize them and upgrade

[01:14:53] them and shit.

[01:14:54] God damn it.

[01:14:54] That, that was so much fun.

[01:14:56] Again, adding to your replay value in for even further, you'd be like, okay, I'm just going

[01:15:00] to go all shotguns this time or oops, all snipers and try to do shit that way.

[01:15:05] If you think about it too, that it was one of the first resident evils that had kind

[01:15:09] of mild RPG elements.

[01:15:10] You can slowly upgrade and level up your weapons with the fuck.

[01:15:14] Fuck.

[01:15:14] Where's Mike?

[01:15:15] I was going to say, I bet you quest 64.

[01:15:16] Mike would have something to say about this.

[01:15:18] Fuck.

[01:15:19] Listeners.

[01:15:20] We did an episode all about what makes an RPG where we tried to pick and choose the

[01:15:24] different characteristics that define what an RPG is.

[01:15:28] Mike, if you're listening to this resident evil four is not an RPG.

[01:15:32] Fight me.

[01:15:33] Continue.

[01:15:34] Everything's a puzzle game.

[01:15:37] Yeah, I guess.

[01:15:40] I mean, you're right.

[01:15:41] I just see Aaron's brain stop looking.

[01:15:44] Life is a highway and I want to ride it.

[01:15:49] How does the song go?

[01:15:50] Sing it, Jerry.

[01:15:51] All Night Long?

[01:15:53] Yeah, there we go.

[01:15:54] I think.

[01:15:54] If you're going, hey, let's, should we, are we done with this even before?

[01:15:58] Should we take an ad break?

[01:15:59] Yeah.

[01:16:00] Is it time for an ad break?

[01:16:01] Smells like an ad break.

[01:16:02] Yeah, let's fucking do the ad break.

[01:16:04] Must be an ad break.

[01:16:05] We'll be right back.

[01:20:13] Getting a little swampy down there?

[01:20:17] Hey Jerry.

[01:20:19] Hey Jerry.

[01:20:20] Yeah.

[01:20:20] I know you like food.

[01:20:22] Food's cool, right?

[01:20:23] Yeah.

[01:20:23] What if I were to tell you there's a way to make your food a completely different color

[01:20:29] in a safe and fun way?

[01:20:31] I'd say you're a lying son of a bitch.

[01:20:33] Tell me more.

[01:20:34] Okay.

[01:20:34] So they have food coloring, right?

[01:20:36] But that only really works like in liquids, I guess?

[01:20:43] Introducing food paint.

[01:20:44] You can paint your food different color.

[01:20:47] Fuck, this one's stupid.

[01:20:48] Let's fucking skip it.

[01:20:50] What is going on?

[01:20:52] Oh yeah.

[01:20:53] You don't have it.

[01:20:54] Do I do drugs?

[01:20:56] Beth doesn't know the things.

[01:20:58] In every Super Pod saga and I guess Retro Rehab also, we just make up different ads or

[01:21:04] different sponsors for the show and it's always fucking stupid.

[01:21:08] Beth thought she was having a fucking stroke.

[01:21:10] I don't know what it's like.

[01:21:11] This is going to test your improv skills.

[01:21:13] Oh no.

[01:21:14] You want to talk about fucking paint on food?

[01:21:16] Like what's happening?

[01:21:17] Is this a you guys thing?

[01:21:19] You guys are going to rip off each other?

[01:21:21] Do I have to participate?

[01:21:23] You don't have to do anything.

[01:21:23] You can, but you don't have to.

[01:21:25] If you're like, oh, I thought of a good thing to slide in here and say, you can go

[01:21:29] ahead and say it.

[01:21:31] Here we go.

[01:21:32] Oh no.

[01:21:32] Okay.

[01:21:32] So I upped the ante on this one.

[01:21:35] Okay.

[01:21:35] So, so yeah.

[01:21:36] Yeah.

[01:21:36] Jerry, you can, you can have your purple cheeseburger if you want.

[01:21:39] You can have, you can have totally red spaghetti if you want, even though red spaghetti is already

[01:21:45] kind of red, whatever.

[01:21:46] But what if I were to tell you this plate, this paint also changes the flavor of your

[01:21:49] food completely.

[01:21:51] That's right.

[01:21:51] You can have a purple spaghetti that tastes like cardboard.

[01:21:57] Yeah.

[01:21:57] Great.

[01:21:58] Yes.

[01:21:58] Thank you.

[01:21:59] Yeah.

[01:22:00] Oh, that's good.

[01:22:02] Yeah.

[01:22:04] Oh my God.

[01:22:04] Does it just taste like grapes with the texture of chicken nuggets?

[01:22:09] How long has this technology been around?

[01:22:13] Since now.

[01:22:16] You could.

[01:22:17] So Jerry, starting, starting right now, food, food, food, food paint.

[01:22:25] Come on, a food paint.

[01:22:26] Foodpaint.com for us last Christ alive.

[01:22:30] Dot com.

[01:22:31] 40% off.

[01:22:32] Yeah.

[01:22:33] You can paint your food.

[01:22:34] Any, any one of whatever colors in the rainbow.

[01:22:38] Each one has a flavor.

[01:22:39] You know, yellow was it's Roy G.

[01:22:41] Biv.

[01:22:42] Red is cherry.

[01:22:43] Orange is orange.

[01:22:44] Yellow is lemon.

[01:22:45] All that shit.

[01:22:46] Jerry, what foods do you like to paint?

[01:22:48] I like to paint my toenails.

[01:22:50] So I, I typically like to make them taste like hamburgers.

[01:22:55] So that way.

[01:22:56] Oh, it sucks on my big toe.

[01:22:57] It's like, you want a taste of this fucking cheeseburger right now?

[01:23:01] Karen, come on.

[01:23:02] This is burger toe.

[01:23:03] You want this burger toe?

[01:23:05] This cheesy toe.

[01:23:06] I call the FDA.

[01:23:07] Will they stop this?

[01:23:08] Cheeto?

[01:23:09] No.

[01:23:09] There's no way they can.

[01:23:11] It's already happening.

[01:23:12] They, they own 50% of the, of the share market or something.

[01:23:16] They've become far too powerful.

[01:23:18] No, this product has nothing but opportunity.

[01:23:20] I am an avid steak eater.

[01:23:22] And what I like to do, and especially for those of you that don't like to eat meat, all

[01:23:26] you have to do is turn your steak green so it tastes like salad, but you're getting protein

[01:23:31] the El Natural way.

[01:23:33] That's right.

[01:23:34] Take that.

[01:23:34] And vegans just pretend like the animal didn't suffer when it died and tastes like grass.

[01:23:41] Cause yeah, that's the reason why vegans don't want steak is cause they don't like the taste.

[01:23:46] Mystery solved.

[01:23:48] It looks like, it looks like steak.

[01:23:50] It feel, it's got the texture of steak.

[01:23:52] It fucks like steak for sure.

[01:23:53] It fucks like steak.

[01:23:55] It smells like steak, but it doesn't taste like it.

[01:23:57] Therefore it's not a checkmate to vegans.

[01:24:00] It's your, your move.

[01:24:02] I don't know.

[01:24:03] Hey Beth, what foods do you like to paint?

[01:24:05] I have a question.

[01:24:07] Yes.

[01:24:08] So we're painting the food.

[01:24:10] Yes.

[01:24:10] So does it taste it like the thing only on the outside or on the inside too?

[01:24:16] Cause if I can only paint the outside, then I don't know how I feel about this product.

[01:24:21] If you want to paint a banana white and give it white privilege, go right ahead.

[01:24:26] That's, that's, I don't know what white privilege tastes like.

[01:24:29] He said vanilla.

[01:24:30] He answered that.

[01:24:31] It's vanilla.

[01:24:32] Vanilla is a good flavor.

[01:24:34] And banana flavored vanilla.

[01:24:37] Oh, vanilla flavored banana?

[01:24:40] My privilege, vanilla.

[01:24:42] Jerry, this just in.

[01:24:44] Jerry, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.

[01:24:45] This just in, Jerry.

[01:24:47] These food paints can also be used as condiments.

[01:24:50] Pop the top off your cheeseburger.

[01:24:53] Give a little squirt of blue, blueberry, I guess, or blue raspberry.

[01:24:57] Blue raspberry cheeseburger, baby.

[01:24:59] That's right.

[01:25:00] Blue raspberry cheeseburger.

[01:25:00] And I do hear that there's a DLC coming up for this.

[01:25:05] That is a crossover with retro rehab.

[01:25:09] Christ almighty.

[01:25:10] And it's purple piss kid purple.

[01:25:12] And all you do is you squirt that shit all over anything and it's going to taste like purple piss.

[01:25:18] Is that sponsored by Go Piss Girl?

[01:25:21] Yes.

[01:25:22] Yes.

[01:25:22] And two girls, one cup.

[01:25:23] Whatever that is.

[01:25:24] Yes.

[01:25:24] I can't wait to buy this product.

[01:25:26] Where can I purchase it?

[01:25:28] Because...

[01:25:29] W-W-W-W-D-E-S-T-A-L-E-R-Y.

[01:25:31] Because everything about it sounded so appealing.

[01:25:33] Yes.

[01:25:34] You want hamburger toast?

[01:25:35] You got it.

[01:25:36] You want fucking white bananas?

[01:25:38] You got it.

[01:25:39] All you got to do is go to www.foodpaint.com forward slash Christalive forward slash paint me like one of your French ladies forward slash dine and dash forward slash fuck me Jesus.

[01:25:51] I think you cornered a really good market on the people who are really into feats.

[01:25:57] Oh, I mean, she's got a point.

[01:25:59] Yeah.

[01:25:59] I mean, normally...

[01:26:00] You said the time.

[01:26:00] I guess you could just put a...

[01:26:02] I guess normally you could just put maybe like a flavored condom on there, but market corner.

[01:26:08] Just dip your foot in some vanilla.

[01:26:10] Good to go.

[01:26:11] I can tell you something else I'm going to dip in that vanilla, you know what I'm saying?

[01:26:14] Sponsored by OnlyFans.

[01:26:16] Yeah.

[01:26:17] Oh, man.

[01:26:18] You've heard of...

[01:26:21] What the fuck am I trying to say here?

[01:26:23] You've heard of like...

[01:26:24] I don't know.

[01:26:26] You've heard of fondue.

[01:26:29] Sponsored by OnlyFans.

[01:26:31] Yeah.

[01:26:35] Introducing the edible palette.

[01:26:37] Now you can mix colors on this edible palette.

[01:26:40] It's made out of a cookie or something.

[01:26:41] No, it's tortilla.

[01:26:43] I don't know.

[01:26:44] You can mix colors.

[01:26:44] It's like how you mix those Jelly Belly jelly beans and make stupid shit like PB&J.

[01:26:49] But it doesn't taste like PB&J because it's fucking jelly beans.

[01:26:52] You can mix blue and red and make purple.

[01:26:55] And if you go...

[01:26:56] But it doesn't taste like grapes.

[01:26:57] It's totally new.

[01:26:58] It doesn't taste like grapes.

[01:26:59] It tastes like a mix of blue raspberry and cherry.

[01:27:02] Hell yeah.

[01:27:03] Boom.

[01:27:03] Game completely changed.

[01:27:04] Yes.

[01:27:05] Go ahead.

[01:27:05] Life hack.

[01:27:05] If you want some real good food paint hacks, go to the YouTube channel.

[01:27:12] They...

[01:27:12] I mean, I seen a hack the other day.

[01:27:15] They were showing you how to paint your eyelids to make them taste like fucking orange pico tea.

[01:27:23] Who's tasting your eyelids?

[01:27:26] Huh?

[01:27:28] Buddy, don't knock until you try.

[01:27:29] This is...

[01:27:31] Let's get them eyelids.

[01:27:32] I'm going to lick.

[01:27:33] Some pico...

[01:27:33] Or not pico de gallo.

[01:27:34] What's that cactus drug?

[01:27:37] What's the cactus drug again?

[01:27:39] Cactus drug.

[01:27:41] It's the drug that comes from a cactus.

[01:27:44] Pico de gallo.

[01:27:45] Peyote.

[01:27:46] Peyote.

[01:27:47] Not pico de gallo.

[01:27:48] I was going to say pierogies.

[01:27:49] So fucking stupid.

[01:27:50] Pierogies?

[01:27:51] Oh.

[01:27:52] Dip your pierogies in some yellow.

[01:27:54] Yeah.

[01:27:54] Some lemon pierogies.

[01:27:56] Okay.

[01:27:56] Hey, thank you foodpaint.com slash christalive slash fucking kill me please for sponsoring this episode.

[01:28:10] The fuck was that?

[01:28:43] Call now.

[01:28:48] Jerry, are we back?

[01:28:50] We're back.

[01:28:52] We're back.

[01:28:53] Back in the New York roof.

[01:28:55] Oh no.

[01:28:56] Call them off.

[01:28:57] Call them off.

[01:28:59] Fuck around and find out.

[01:29:02] We'll pay them off with plenty of purple.

[01:29:05] Here you go, officer.

[01:29:06] Here's a good handful of purple.

[01:29:07] And you just...

[01:29:08] Bam!

[01:29:09] Yeah.

[01:29:09] Oh, this tastes like piss.

[01:29:11] They would like that.

[01:29:13] Could you imagine paying police officers off with just a cup full of fucking paint?

[01:29:21] Yeah.

[01:29:22] Beautiful.

[01:29:23] Resident Evil 5, everybody.

[01:29:24] Wee-doo!

[01:29:25] They're in Africa.

[01:29:26] We're getting better at this Segway thing, I think.

[01:29:29] Best one yet.

[01:29:30] Down in Africa.

[01:29:31] Yeah.

[01:29:31] This podcast has zero flaws.

[01:29:34] I'd like to see anybody try to challenge and say otherwise.

[01:29:36] I'm going to have to fight Jerry on Twitter.

[01:29:40] That's right.

[01:29:41] Yeah, Pitbull's going to come after us now.

[01:29:42] Missionary way.

[01:29:43] He's going to be like, this pod...

[01:29:45] Or...

[01:29:46] I'm Pitbull on this podcast.

[01:29:48] I don't know how the fuck he talks.

[01:29:49] That's exactly it.

[01:29:50] Sounds like fucking Fozzie Bear.

[01:29:52] I'm podcast.

[01:29:53] I'm super...

[01:29:53] Is Pitbull here?

[01:29:56] Pitbull Fozzie Bear?

[01:29:59] Fozzie Bear ate my ass at Denny's Christmas.

[01:30:02] In Spain.

[01:30:05] Spain?

[01:30:05] At a Spanish Denny's?

[01:30:09] Fozzie Bear, will you lick my ass?

[01:30:10] Yeah, bitch.

[01:30:11] Lick my ass.

[01:30:14] Resident Evil 5?

[01:30:15] No.

[01:30:15] Holy shit.

[01:30:15] I'm sorry.

[01:30:16] I broke down.

[01:30:16] Get out of Spain and go to Africa.

[01:30:19] Exactly.

[01:30:20] Oh, man.

[01:30:20] This was...

[01:30:21] I played the shit out of this game with some of my old roommates.

[01:30:23] We played the co-op numerous times.

[01:30:27] And it's just a blast.

[01:30:29] Like, the game itself and, like, the story is just wackadoo all over the place.

[01:30:33] But it's a good fucking time.

[01:30:35] So this is actually the one mainline Resident Evil I played the least.

[01:30:39] And it's been...

[01:30:40] I haven't played it since I first played it.

[01:30:42] So I actually don't remember a lot about it.

[01:30:44] Well, actually, the one thing I do remember is I didn't have any fucking friends.

[01:30:47] When I was younger that played Resident Evil games.

[01:30:50] So I never got to experience this with a friend.

[01:30:52] So that kind of sucks.

[01:30:53] But I did get to experience the magic that was a grown, bulky-ass man punched the shit

[01:31:03] out of a boulder.

[01:31:05] And it inspired me to not do anything with my own personal health.

[01:31:11] But I thought it was cool.

[01:31:12] That man is so yoked that you're like, what's the point?

[01:31:17] Right.

[01:31:17] Chris made sweet, sweet, consensual love to that boulder.

[01:31:21] He was like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:31:24] Now, from a story standpoint, let's roll back to Veronica really quick.

[01:31:28] Because this actually kind of makes sense.

[01:31:29] Chris gets his ass beat by Wesker at the end of Code Veronica.

[01:31:33] So now it's like, I would assume Chris is like, I'm going to bulk up.

[01:31:36] I'm going to start doing protein bars, dip in sour cream, possibly.

[01:31:41] And just...

[01:31:42] He's got to dip him in some yellow.

[01:31:43] Got to dip him in yellow first.

[01:31:45] So it kind of makes sense.

[01:31:48] And at the end of the game, he's pretty fucking pissed off, too.

[01:31:50] So yeah, that boulder's taking the brunt of it.

[01:31:51] But no, in all seriousness...

[01:31:53] It's between him and Wesker.

[01:31:54] Like, he's...

[01:31:55] This is it.

[01:31:57] Oh, question for you, Nomad.

[01:31:59] Before you begin, I know there's like a couple of like flashback cut scenes in Resident Evil 5,

[01:32:06] I believe, where like Chris is fighting Wesker in like a mansion or something.

[01:32:10] And one of them is thrown out a window.

[01:32:11] Is that from Code Veronica?

[01:32:12] No.

[01:32:13] So before Resident Evil 5 starts and after Veronica and all that sort of stuff, from what I remember...

[01:32:20] What?

[01:32:21] What is happening?

[01:32:23] I don't know.

[01:32:24] Why are you laughing?

[01:32:25] I got really...

[01:32:26] Listeners, Beth is on crack.

[01:32:27] Let's talk about the DLC is so good.

[01:32:31] And when you brought it up, I was like, oh my god, it's the DLC.

[01:32:35] And I got way too excited.

[01:32:36] Sorry, Nomad.

[01:32:37] Go ahead.

[01:32:38] No, no.

[01:32:38] Beth, do you want to talk about this part?

[01:32:40] I don't want to steal this moment from you.

[01:32:41] You are on fire right now.

[01:32:44] Beth just made herself look like one of those fucking 16th century paintings of someone just

[01:32:49] being like...

[01:32:50] Like looking to the sky and being like...

[01:32:53] Oh my god.

[01:32:54] I...

[01:32:54] Okay, well, I love 5 so much.

[01:32:57] I played the fucking shit out of 5.

[01:33:00] Like I wanted to get the trophy, so I had to get all of the collectibles in all of the

[01:33:06] different things.

[01:33:07] And to do that, I needed so much fucking money.

[01:33:09] And I...

[01:33:10] So I just was like...

[01:33:11] Played that game an insane amount of times.

[01:33:14] But the DLC is so good and it really sucks that it isn't...

[01:33:22] I think it's golden edition.

[01:33:23] Like if you buy any version now, it just is there.

[01:33:26] You made me buy that because you were like, I want to play Resident Evil 5 with you.

[01:33:29] And I was like, Resident Evil 5 is not that good though.

[01:33:31] And you were like, have you ever played a co-op?

[01:33:33] And I was like, nope.

[01:33:35] Can't say I have.

[01:33:36] And that's the thing.

[01:33:38] Nomad.

[01:33:38] You played it solo, right?

[01:33:40] Yep.

[01:33:41] It's an okay game.

[01:33:42] Solo.

[01:33:43] You start playing with a friend in co-op?

[01:33:45] Dude.

[01:33:46] That changes that game completely.

[01:33:48] It changes the whole fucking thing.

[01:33:49] It's so good.

[01:33:50] And so there's the DLC.

[01:33:51] It's the DLC where you play as Chris and Jill leading up to that fight with Wesker.

[01:33:59] And you're in a mansion.

[01:34:00] And it's like...

[01:34:01] It's a re...

[01:34:02] Like the foyer is a...

[01:34:05] Like a re...

[01:34:07] Design.

[01:34:08] It's basically the same house from one.

[01:34:10] So when Chris and Jill walk in, they have a moment of being like...

[01:34:16] Like that spooked out.

[01:34:17] Like, oh my god, we're back here again.

[01:34:19] Like, what the fuck is going on?

[01:34:21] Little fun note though.

[01:34:23] If you turn around and you click on the door three times, it changes all the camera angles

[01:34:28] in that foyer to fix cameras.

[01:34:31] So...

[01:34:32] Oh.

[01:34:32] That was old school.

[01:34:33] So cool.

[01:34:34] I love it.

[01:34:35] That's cool.

[01:34:35] And then I played that DLC with my little brother who since 5...

[01:34:43] When I got into 5, I got him into Resident Evil.

[01:34:46] And then since then, I watch him.

[01:34:48] He's kind of like who I watch play all the Resident Evils since.

[01:34:52] But we played that together.

[01:34:55] And there are these huge fuck-off monsters that you can't really destroy in the DLC.

[01:35:02] And the first time you encounter it, I was like backed up against the wall.

[01:35:08] Because I was like, something's coming.

[01:35:10] I can hear it.

[01:35:11] I can hear it.

[01:35:12] Something's coming.

[01:35:12] So I backed up against the wall being like, I'm safe in the corner.

[01:35:16] And then all I saw, like from my point of view, was like around Jill, all of the wall

[01:35:23] starts to crumble around.

[01:35:24] And I quick turned and it was right there.

[01:35:26] And I was like quick turned again.

[01:35:27] And we're like just screamed and started fucking taking off.

[01:35:31] And my brother was like, what is going on?

[01:35:33] What is going on?

[01:35:34] And I was just screaming and running.

[01:35:36] I couldn't communicate.

[01:35:39] And there's like a really great moment in it too.

[01:35:41] And there's two of them.

[01:35:43] And you have to kind of like dodge in between while solving puzzles.

[01:35:46] It's...

[01:35:46] That's cool.

[01:35:47] It's so good.

[01:35:49] It's like amazing.

[01:35:51] I love that game.

[01:35:52] It's also the only time, not in that DLC, but in one of the chapters,

[01:35:56] there's two Chainsaw Man that you have to fight.

[01:36:01] And I got so tense doing that for the first time.

[01:36:05] Because I didn't play...

[01:36:07] Like, I don't play horror games.

[01:36:08] I don't like things that are scary.

[01:36:10] I got so tense.

[01:36:11] I got a foot cramp.

[01:36:13] And I had to pause because my foot seized up.

[01:36:17] And then I was like, oh my god.

[01:36:19] And I was like, I got a real life injury.

[01:36:23] Because I was so freaked out.

[01:36:26] I love that game to death.

[01:36:28] The literally first experience with it was my friend handed me the controller

[01:36:34] during the Wesker boss fight at the hangar.

[01:36:41] So it was like two of my friends and they were playing.

[01:36:44] And then one of them went to the bathroom and he handed me the controller

[01:36:48] and was like, just hold down the fort.

[01:36:51] All you need to do, you have a sniper.

[01:36:54] Shoot him with the sniper.

[01:36:55] That's it.

[01:36:56] So I was like, okay.

[01:36:57] So I shot him with the sniper.

[01:36:59] And then he went, turned, looked at me, and zoomed at me

[01:37:04] while I was zoomed in on him with the sniper.

[01:37:06] And I actually threw the controller at my other friends.

[01:37:09] I was like, ah!

[01:37:12] And it's like, I love this fucking game.

[01:37:15] It's great with friends.

[01:37:17] It's so fucking crazy.

[01:37:19] It makes it way better with co-op.

[01:37:20] I'll say that.

[01:37:22] It's so bad.

[01:37:22] I love it to death.

[01:37:23] I have been dying to go back to it.

[01:37:25] Like, really, the fondest memory I have of that game is trying,

[01:37:29] I tried to get all the trophies too.

[01:37:31] So I played it a lot, even though I played it by myself.

[01:37:33] But I still remember the one trophy that you got,

[01:37:35] or achievement or whatever,

[01:37:36] where you have to bat an arrow out of the air with your knife.

[01:37:39] And I remember trying to do that over and over again,

[01:37:42] stuff like that.

[01:37:42] But I enjoyed it.

[01:37:44] It wasn't as memorable for me,

[01:37:46] and I think it was because of that co-op element was lost on me.

[01:37:48] But I've always wanted to go back to it.

[01:37:50] I don't really have a bad memory of the game, really.

[01:37:54] I think the pacing was fine.

[01:37:55] The story was fucking batshit crazy.

[01:37:58] But whatever.

[01:37:58] At that point, again,

[01:38:00] your suspension of disbelief is just,

[01:38:01] it is what it is.

[01:38:02] But yeah.

[01:38:04] Beth, I'll leave an open invite.

[01:38:05] If you ever want to play this game and you need a pal.

[01:38:08] Every time.

[01:38:09] Get all of me.

[01:38:11] I'm down.

[01:38:12] I will play Resident Evil 5 with everybody.

[01:38:15] When I was doing the trophy run,

[01:38:18] I played with strangers online.

[01:38:20] I was in those lobbies.

[01:38:23] I bought a Bluetooth headset so I could talk to people.

[01:38:28] This was the game that I was like,

[01:38:30] I'm so...

[01:38:31] Like a fucking taxi driver.

[01:38:31] Well, I had a couple really negative experiences with some people.

[01:38:36] So I ended up having to actually give the headset to my brother

[01:38:40] and tell my brother what to tell people.

[01:38:42] Because it got to the point where I was like,

[01:38:44] I'm not wasting time.

[01:38:45] There's like...

[01:38:46] Oh my god.

[01:38:47] This is efficient.

[01:38:49] I can deal...

[01:38:49] Like if some guys would come into the lobby,

[01:38:53] they hear me talk and then they leave.

[01:38:55] And so instead of having to waste my time

[01:38:58] batting through some people,

[01:38:59] I just gave the headset to my brother.

[01:39:00] Because I'm like, we're on a fucking mission.

[01:39:03] I want to get all these fucking trophies.

[01:39:06] But it was so good.

[01:39:08] Yeah.

[01:39:09] It's interesting interacting with people that way too.

[01:39:11] Not to get too far ahead,

[01:39:13] but Resident Evil 6,

[01:39:14] I would play co-op with people online.

[01:39:17] And I never used the headset or anything.

[01:39:19] I would use all the in-game commands like,

[01:39:21] come here, go over there,

[01:39:22] thumbs up because you did a thing.

[01:39:24] Like I like doing that,

[01:39:25] but it is interesting trying to play

[01:39:27] with different people like that online

[01:39:29] or even in person

[01:39:29] that have their own different play styles.

[01:39:31] Like some people,

[01:39:32] they're there for the story.

[01:39:33] Some people want the achievements.

[01:39:34] Some people just want to fuck around

[01:39:36] and shoot fish all day

[01:39:37] and possibly get eaten by a monster.

[01:39:39] Absolutely.

[01:39:40] But that's in and of itself

[01:39:42] the magic of that kind of a co-op experience.

[01:39:44] So yeah.

[01:39:46] Yeah.

[01:39:46] It was like truly like

[01:39:48] such a special like moment in time

[01:39:51] for me like playing games.

[01:39:53] It was one of the first times

[01:39:55] that I ever like played something

[01:39:56] that was not a Pokemon game

[01:39:58] or Kingdom Hearts game.

[01:39:59] So it was like

[01:40:01] like kind of dipping my toes

[01:40:04] into something a little bit more

[01:40:06] outside my comfort zone.

[01:40:08] It was like for me scary at the time

[01:40:11] and dealing with people online

[01:40:14] and kind of having to navigate that.

[01:40:17] And like most people were fine.

[01:40:19] It just was getting to the point

[01:40:20] where my thing was,

[01:40:21] I'm not kidding.

[01:40:22] I was like,

[01:40:23] I need to farm this level

[01:40:24] to get this cash

[01:40:25] because I know we're all,

[01:40:27] this is where the,

[01:40:27] this is the level with the most gems

[01:40:29] and I need to keep doing this.

[01:40:30] So it was like just wasting time

[01:40:32] to have people argue with me

[01:40:34] when I'm like,

[01:40:35] I done this so many times.

[01:40:37] You're running this like a business.

[01:40:38] I was running like a business.

[01:40:39] I was like,

[01:40:41] because it was also the level with the lasers.

[01:40:43] So I'd be like,

[01:40:43] just go stand there.

[01:40:44] I'll move the lasers.

[01:40:45] I know exactly how to do this.

[01:40:46] And then they get,

[01:40:47] I can listen.

[01:40:48] I can vouch for this,

[01:40:50] this behavior

[01:40:51] because I was also put to work,

[01:40:55] essentially.

[01:40:55] You know,

[01:40:56] I was like,

[01:40:57] hey Beth,

[01:40:57] look at this,

[01:40:58] check out one of them.

[01:40:59] She's like,

[01:40:59] get on the fucking zip line.

[01:41:01] Get on the zip line.

[01:41:01] We have to go across.

[01:41:03] Jesus Christ,

[01:41:03] you're not paying attention.

[01:41:04] Time is money.

[01:41:05] Yeah.

[01:41:06] Slowly,

[01:41:07] I think I got a little bit better,

[01:41:09] but it was definitely,

[01:41:10] on the clock.

[01:41:12] Plus it's also funny

[01:41:13] just to kind of give Jerry shit.

[01:41:16] It's,

[01:41:18] it's the best.

[01:41:19] So yeah,

[01:41:20] Nomad,

[01:41:20] go ahead,

[01:41:21] go ahead and play it with her.

[01:41:22] I'm chill.

[01:41:23] I'm totally chill.

[01:41:24] Or,

[01:41:25] or you could play the mercenaries mode with me

[01:41:28] because the mercenaries in Resident Evil 5,

[01:41:30] holy shit,

[01:41:31] it's so good.

[01:41:32] Or,

[01:41:32] there's so many different,

[01:41:33] hold on,

[01:41:34] hold your goddamn horses.

[01:41:35] I'm not done yet.

[01:41:37] There's so many different characters

[01:41:38] that you can just unlock

[01:41:39] throughout playing the whole thing.

[01:41:41] Each character plays totally differently.

[01:41:43] Like Jill,

[01:41:44] or not Jill,

[01:41:46] what the fuck is her name?

[01:41:47] Rebecca?

[01:41:48] Sheva.

[01:41:49] No,

[01:41:51] Rebecca's in the mercenaries.

[01:41:52] You could still mix,

[01:41:53] or,

[01:41:54] what is it?

[01:41:55] It's Lydia.

[01:41:56] It's like an SMG.

[01:41:57] No,

[01:41:57] it's Rebecca.

[01:41:58] I just said it's Rebecca.

[01:41:59] You can play the creator's least favorite character.

[01:42:02] She's actually pretty fucking good.

[01:42:04] Rebecca has like,

[01:42:05] it's like,

[01:42:06] she has the most healing items.

[01:42:07] She has a little fucking SMG

[01:42:10] that can just plow through,

[01:42:11] like,

[01:42:11] like,

[01:42:12] like the,

[01:42:13] the bullet.

[01:42:13] Fuck.

[01:42:14] The bullets will like penetrate

[01:42:15] just waves of enemies.

[01:42:17] They'll penetrate enemies.

[01:42:19] That's great.

[01:42:20] Jerry,

[01:42:20] what were you saying?

[01:42:22] I was going to say,

[01:42:23] we could,

[01:42:23] we could do teams

[01:42:24] and see who gets through

[01:42:26] Resident Evil 5 faster.

[01:42:27] Beth and Mowman.

[01:42:29] Oh,

[01:42:31] that's a good idea.

[01:42:33] That's a good idea.

[01:42:33] We'll do side by side streams.

[01:42:37] That's a great fucking idea.

[01:42:38] We should do that.

[01:42:39] So let's just let you know,

[01:42:40] to get the infinite rocket launcher,

[01:42:41] you had to beat the entire whole thing,

[01:42:44] every chapter under three hours.

[01:42:45] And I had that cleared by a lot.

[01:42:49] It has been a very long time,

[01:42:50] but I was good.

[01:42:54] I also,

[01:42:55] quick little thing too,

[01:42:57] is that five also had the liquors.

[01:42:59] So my first,

[01:43:00] I was introduced to the liquors through five.

[01:43:03] And that was also a terrifying experience.

[01:43:07] And having to sneak past them

[01:43:09] and like the glass paneling.

[01:43:10] And I cried.

[01:43:14] It was,

[01:43:15] it was crazy.

[01:43:16] I love that.

[01:43:17] It's so good.

[01:43:18] You never forget your first liquor.

[01:43:20] You never forget.

[01:43:21] You never forget.

[01:43:24] Are we,

[01:43:25] are we good to go to six?

[01:43:26] Yeah,

[01:43:27] let's go to six.

[01:43:28] Let's go to six.

[01:43:30] I don't remember a whole lot of six,

[01:43:32] but I remember playing as Jake

[01:43:34] and that was fucking awesome

[01:43:36] because I would just like,

[01:43:37] palm,

[01:43:38] like palm,

[01:43:40] destroy everything to fucking death.

[01:43:41] And I would never play anybody else.

[01:43:43] It was just so much fun.

[01:43:45] So the weird thing about six,

[01:43:47] the weird thing about six,

[01:43:49] it's the same thing as five.

[01:43:53] I remember when six came out

[01:43:55] and I remember buying it

[01:43:57] and being like,

[01:44:00] what the fuck did they do to Resident Evil?

[01:44:03] I thought it was absolute dog trash.

[01:44:06] Like,

[01:44:06] but this is not what I want from Resident Evil.

[01:44:11] And honestly,

[01:44:12] on the surface,

[01:44:13] Resident Evil six is not that great of a game.

[01:44:15] However,

[01:44:17] if you play Resident Evil six by yourself,

[01:44:20] you're going to have a bad time.

[01:44:21] If you play in co-op,

[01:44:23] like I did,

[01:44:24] once I revisited the game

[01:44:26] and played through in co-op

[01:44:28] from start to finish,

[01:44:30] dude,

[01:44:30] it was so fucking dumb

[01:44:32] and so fun.

[01:44:34] It's,

[01:44:34] it's a thing where you kind of have to like,

[01:44:36] just,

[01:44:36] you know,

[01:44:37] like take a screwdriver

[01:44:38] and like tap into your brain a little bit

[01:44:40] to make you forget,

[01:44:41] like,

[01:44:41] this is not a Resident Evil game.

[01:44:43] And then like,

[01:44:44] I could have sworn this was Stranglehold.

[01:44:48] Yeah.

[01:44:49] Like if you kind of separate this game

[01:44:52] and just be like,

[01:44:53] yeah,

[01:44:53] this is like,

[01:44:54] it's a dumb thing that they tried to do.

[01:44:57] There's too much shit going on in this game,

[01:44:59] but as a co-op game,

[01:45:02] God damn it.

[01:45:03] Is it fun?

[01:45:04] One of my,

[01:45:05] one of my favorite things to do in that game

[01:45:07] and then I'll pass it off to Nomad

[01:45:09] is the,

[01:45:11] when you can like,

[01:45:12] when you dive roll,

[01:45:13] you do like the dumb little dive roll

[01:45:14] or a vase and shit like that.

[01:45:15] You just land on your back

[01:45:17] and just like lay on the ground

[01:45:18] and just fucking chill there.

[01:45:19] Yeah.

[01:45:19] Like drive a fucking car.

[01:45:21] dude,

[01:45:23] beep,

[01:45:23] beep.

[01:45:24] Like you can just aim at enemies and shit

[01:45:25] and just chill there.

[01:45:26] Like,

[01:45:27] so bro,

[01:45:27] we're going to take a fucking nap,

[01:45:29] bro.

[01:45:29] Yeah.

[01:45:30] Go ahead.

[01:45:30] No,

[01:45:30] man.

[01:45:32] So I,

[01:45:33] I recognize the fact that Resident Evil six

[01:45:35] is not really a quote unquote

[01:45:38] Resident Evil game.

[01:45:39] However,

[01:45:40] I fucking love this game

[01:45:42] and none of you three can convince me

[01:45:45] that it's not a good game.

[01:45:46] I'm going to try.

[01:45:48] It's awesome.

[01:45:48] Don't even fucking try,

[01:45:49] but,

[01:45:49] but no,

[01:45:50] I,

[01:45:50] I,

[01:45:51] I agree with you,

[01:45:51] Jerry.

[01:45:52] It is better in co-op.

[01:45:53] I never played with anybody.

[01:45:54] I knew I played with people online,

[01:45:55] but that made the experience

[01:45:56] just that much more better.

[01:45:58] But I,

[01:46:00] I,

[01:46:00] I,

[01:46:00] I rarely pre-ordered games,

[01:46:02] but this was like one of those games

[01:46:03] where I actually went to a game stop

[01:46:05] at midnight for this fucking game.

[01:46:07] Like I was stoked for it.

[01:46:08] Just stood in line with like three other people,

[01:46:10] but Hey,

[01:46:11] it was cool.

[01:46:12] But,

[01:46:12] but I bonded.

[01:46:14] Exactly.

[01:46:14] It's just like,

[01:46:15] are you a Resident Evil fan as well?

[01:46:17] Yes,

[01:46:17] I am.

[01:46:18] Fucking Scott Malkinson from South Park.

[01:46:22] But I,

[01:46:23] but I,

[01:46:27] I,

[01:46:28] I always have fun playing this game.

[01:46:30] And I think the reason I have fun with it

[01:46:32] is because I immediately recognize

[01:46:33] that this isn't what I expected out of this series

[01:46:36] and I'm okay with it.

[01:46:37] So by shutting that side of my brain off

[01:46:40] and just now,

[01:46:40] no,

[01:46:41] I'm playing a stupid action game

[01:46:42] with characters that I like mostly.

[01:46:45] Yeah.

[01:46:45] It's,

[01:46:46] it's,

[01:46:46] it's really fun to get into.

[01:46:47] I love,

[01:46:47] I love dodging mechanics in any game.

[01:46:50] I don't know what it is,

[01:46:50] but something about just sidestepping

[01:46:52] out of danger just gives me an adrenaline rush

[01:46:55] because I'm,

[01:46:55] I'm big and large in my everyday life.

[01:46:58] I can't do that normally.

[01:46:59] So I love doing it in a video game,

[01:47:00] but.

[01:47:01] Being nimble is nice in video games.

[01:47:03] Right.

[01:47:04] So I,

[01:47:04] I love the mechanics.

[01:47:05] I loved what it tried to do.

[01:47:07] And some of the,

[01:47:08] some of the things that they implemented,

[01:47:09] like,

[01:47:10] like it was fun to me so much.

[01:47:12] So that I have completed this game to platinum twice

[01:47:15] on the PlayStation three and four hundred

[01:47:18] or a thousand gamers score on the Xbox three 60

[01:47:21] and the Xbox one.

[01:47:22] And I'm slowly chipping away on,

[01:47:25] on my switch with it.

[01:47:26] Like I,

[01:47:27] it's my guilty pleasure game.

[01:47:29] It's not that great.

[01:47:30] I know it isn't,

[01:47:32] but it's just fun.

[01:47:33] It's just fun.

[01:47:34] It is just fun,

[01:47:35] man.

[01:47:36] Nothing that brings you joy is a guilty pleasure.

[01:47:38] I hate that phrase.

[01:47:41] Especially when you could just jump on your back onto the floor.

[01:47:44] Yeah.

[01:47:44] vroom,

[01:47:45] vroom.

[01:47:46] There's just,

[01:47:46] there's just something out of body.

[01:47:48] When someone gets ready to throw something at you

[01:47:51] and you dodge roll to the right,

[01:47:53] fall on your back,

[01:47:53] John Woo style,

[01:47:54] Leon with his two handguns,

[01:47:56] taking out the enemy.

[01:47:57] And you're just sitting there going,

[01:47:58] I'm a fucking badass.

[01:47:59] Beep,

[01:48:00] beep,

[01:48:00] vroom,

[01:48:01] vroom.

[01:48:01] vroom,

[01:48:02] vroom.

[01:48:02] Jesus Christ.

[01:48:04] Exactly.

[01:48:05] So I,

[01:48:06] same thing.

[01:48:07] Anytime anyone would ever want to play that game co-op or what have you,

[01:48:09] don't even have to twist my wrist.

[01:48:11] I,

[01:48:11] it's Capcom tried to take that in a ridiculous direction by having four

[01:48:15] campaigns that would intersect and all that.

[01:48:18] And that's something else too,

[01:48:19] from a co-op perspective,

[01:48:20] I liked that.

[01:48:21] They tried to say if,

[01:48:23] if,

[01:48:23] if Jerry and I were playing a game together and,

[01:48:26] and Aaron and Beth are playing a different scenario and those two scenarios.

[01:48:30] About that.

[01:48:30] Yeah.

[01:48:31] Those scenarios intersect.

[01:48:32] You could online play all four of us together.

[01:48:35] This small story segment,

[01:48:36] like little shit like that.

[01:48:38] I thought was actually really cool.

[01:48:40] Did it work all that didn't work that way all the time.

[01:48:43] Sure.

[01:48:44] But I love what they tried to do.

[01:48:46] They just didn't execute the way that they should have,

[01:48:48] but still it's a,

[01:48:49] it's,

[01:48:50] it's a fine piece of video game entertainment.

[01:48:53] It's a video game ass video game and it rocks.

[01:48:55] Fuck.

[01:48:56] Big,

[01:48:56] big shout out to that chapter replay as Chris and what's his face.

[01:49:00] And what's it?

[01:49:01] What's a spoilers.

[01:49:02] What's his face?

[01:49:03] What'd you say his name is?

[01:49:04] Piers.

[01:49:05] Piers.

[01:49:06] And he gets his like arm cut off.

[01:49:08] Yeah.

[01:49:08] He has that big,

[01:49:09] like fucking mutato arm.

[01:49:11] And it's,

[01:49:12] yeah,

[01:49:12] it's fucking sick.

[01:49:13] You didn't have a material rifle before that.

[01:49:16] Oh,

[01:49:16] that fucker's so good.

[01:49:17] Yeah.

[01:49:18] Like,

[01:49:18] me and my brother played that game,

[01:49:20] like all the campaigns all the way through together.

[01:49:23] Um,

[01:49:24] and we both got weirdly attached to Piers.

[01:49:27] I have no idea why I've learned since most people didn't like him,

[01:49:31] but like,

[01:49:31] we got so attached.

[01:49:32] And so when he got detached from his arm and we were like,

[01:49:38] he's not making it out of here.

[01:49:40] And we were like,

[01:49:41] so upset,

[01:49:43] like so unreasonably upset.

[01:49:45] And I think like Jake,

[01:49:48] um,

[01:49:48] and like Sherry's campaign and having that,

[01:49:52] Ooh,

[01:49:53] what's it's called?

[01:49:54] what's it?

[01:49:55] Ooh,

[01:49:55] Beck,

[01:49:55] Ooh,

[01:49:56] Ooh,

[01:49:56] Ooh,

[01:49:56] Ooh,

[01:49:57] Ooh,

[01:49:57] Ooh,

[01:49:58] Hispanic,

[01:49:59] kind of like big,

[01:50:00] crazy nemesis want to be with an arm claw.

[01:50:04] Yeah.

[01:50:04] I like that.

[01:50:05] He was kind of like this really like monolithic,

[01:50:08] like thing that just kept coming back.

[01:50:10] Like you could not get rid of him.

[01:50:12] And this,

[01:50:13] when he like is on the,

[01:50:14] is it the airplane or the helicopter?

[01:50:16] When it's like,

[01:50:17] you're trying to find him on the helicopter.

[01:50:18] It's that's nuts.

[01:50:19] And the scene,

[01:50:20] the bit,

[01:50:21] um,

[01:50:21] on the airplane with Leon and Helena's great.

[01:50:26] Um,

[01:50:28] right.

[01:50:28] That's them.

[01:50:29] Yeah.

[01:50:29] They're on the,

[01:50:30] they're on the airplane.

[01:50:31] And then it's like all the gas underneath and then they come up and it's like,

[01:50:34] fuck.

[01:50:35] Yeah.

[01:50:35] All the,

[01:50:35] all the blue gas,

[01:50:36] it turns everybody into zombies immediately,

[01:50:38] except for our heroes because they have plot armor.

[01:50:40] I love that.

[01:50:41] I like them.

[01:50:42] I like their story.

[01:50:43] I think that you have like,

[01:50:46] like Leon and Helena is like,

[01:50:47] that starts out.

[01:50:48] It's like a little bit more traditional,

[01:50:49] like horror.

[01:50:51] And then with like Jake,

[01:50:52] you have action hero.

[01:50:53] And then with like Chris,

[01:50:55] you're like,

[01:50:55] I'm a military man.

[01:50:56] Um,

[01:50:57] so it's like vibes.

[01:50:59] Yeah.

[01:50:59] I love that.

[01:51:00] They portray Chris as someone who's down on his luck,

[01:51:03] turns to drinking and smoking and peers is pulling him out.

[01:51:06] And he eventually has his return arc to be the hero at the sacrifice of his friend.

[01:51:11] Like it's all dumb Hollywood shit.

[01:51:13] Yeah.

[01:51:14] And I like the secret love child,

[01:51:16] Jake being like Wesker's secret love child.

[01:51:18] Like it's the drama.

[01:51:19] It's like so fun.

[01:51:21] Like as this,

[01:51:22] like can't be like,

[01:51:24] uh,

[01:51:24] I don't know.

[01:51:25] I,

[01:51:25] I like a lot of what it did with the story.

[01:51:27] I think my only real complaint is like,

[01:51:29] if we're talking about like replay,

[01:51:33] like other than you,

[01:51:34] cause you've clearly got your replayability out of it.

[01:51:36] But I think the length of it,

[01:51:38] if you want to do all of it is a little bit of a deterrent for just being like,

[01:51:42] Oh,

[01:51:42] let's run this together or like jump in.

[01:51:46] Um,

[01:51:46] in a way that like,

[01:51:48] is kind of like what you guys were saying is a little bit of like the code Veronica of like revisiting too many areas,

[01:51:55] the same,

[01:51:56] like again.

[01:51:56] So it's like,

[01:51:57] that's my only thing with six.

[01:51:59] I actually really enjoyed my experience with six.

[01:52:02] I get what people are maybe upset with.

[01:52:05] For me,

[01:52:05] honestly,

[01:52:06] the thing that turned me away from six and what also started to turn me away from five was the fact that,

[01:52:14] you know,

[01:52:14] Resident Evil four,

[01:52:16] after they transitioned into the type of game that Resident Evil four was,

[01:52:20] it was still scary.

[01:52:22] There was still horror about it.

[01:52:24] I was still nervous.

[01:52:28] Five less,

[01:52:30] six,

[01:52:30] not at all.

[01:52:31] There,

[01:52:32] there wasn't a touch of like,

[01:52:34] I'm,

[01:52:34] I wasn't afraid.

[01:52:35] I wasn't worried about anything in six.

[01:52:38] Perfect segue into seven.

[01:52:40] The game that scared the fucking dick off of me.

[01:52:44] Holy fucking shit.

[01:52:47] They were like,

[01:52:48] Oh,

[01:52:48] you know,

[01:52:48] you know how you guys just be scared of Resident Evil.

[01:52:51] And then we made an action game.

[01:52:52] Well,

[01:52:52] bam,

[01:52:53] here we go.

[01:52:54] You said you were afraid.

[01:52:56] big boys and girls.

[01:52:57] I will never forget.

[01:52:58] Fuck what you thought.

[01:52:59] Resident Evil seven biohazard.

[01:53:02] Just come over here while I kick your teeth in.

[01:53:05] Yeah.

[01:53:06] Getting into Resident Evil seven in VR was basically like getting fucked.

[01:53:11] The curb stopped.

[01:53:12] Like it,

[01:53:12] it was like,

[01:53:15] what the fuck,

[01:53:16] man?

[01:53:16] This is so goddamn scary.

[01:53:17] And I remember,

[01:53:20] I think it was like an E3.

[01:53:23] I think E3 was still alive back then.

[01:53:25] RIP.

[01:53:26] Um,

[01:53:27] and I remember there was like some stuff coming out that people were trying out this VR demo.

[01:53:33] That was apparently the scariest fucking thing.

[01:53:35] The kitchen demo.

[01:53:36] The kitchen demo.

[01:53:37] And people were like,

[01:53:38] like this thing is fucking people up.

[01:53:40] Like people are fucking mortified of this demo.

[01:53:44] And then it comes out.

[01:53:47] Hey,

[01:53:48] the kitchen demo is coming to PlayStation and you'll be able to play it when the PSVR launches.

[01:53:55] And that's when they went,

[01:53:56] by the way,

[01:53:57] the kitchen demo is a demo for Resident Evil seven.

[01:54:00] And that's when I went,

[01:54:01] wait,

[01:54:02] what?

[01:54:03] It was that Tim and Eric gif where it's like,

[01:54:07] and they kept updating it too.

[01:54:09] So there was like the people with the dummy finger.

[01:54:11] I remember everyone was like trying to like piece the clues and puzzles together of like,

[01:54:16] there was,

[01:54:16] there was a lot of crazy shit behind the way that Resident Evil seven.

[01:54:20] I feel like they,

[01:54:22] they definitely were like,

[01:54:23] Hey,

[01:54:23] let's go back to our roots.

[01:54:25] But also,

[01:54:26] what?

[01:54:28] Let's throw the first person.

[01:54:30] Cause at first,

[01:54:32] like knowing what they did with seven and going into first person was like,

[01:54:38] at first it was a reaction of,

[01:54:40] I don't know if this works.

[01:54:42] I don't know if the,

[01:54:42] I don't know if I want my Resident Evil games to be in first person,

[01:54:46] but then it was also a thing works.

[01:54:49] It was a,

[01:54:49] it,

[01:54:50] it started to kind of like,

[01:54:51] once I let it settle a bit in my brain and I was like,

[01:54:54] wait,

[01:54:54] I kind of had the,

[01:54:56] the,

[01:54:56] almost a similar reaction when they transitioned to four and made it like behind the

[01:55:00] shoulder third person.

[01:55:01] And I was like,

[01:55:02] I don't know if this is going to work for Resident Evil.

[01:55:04] They're just going further and further back.

[01:55:07] yeah,

[01:55:10] they're like zooming,

[01:55:11] but pull it all the way the fuck back.

[01:55:14] Resident Evil seven has one of the craziest openings of any Resident Evil game in the series.

[01:55:23] It's absolutely games.

[01:55:25] Yeah,

[01:55:26] it's bat shit.

[01:55:27] And the absolute terror of finding Mia and her crawling up those stairs.

[01:55:39] Like,

[01:55:41] dude,

[01:55:41] everything about that game was fucking terrifying.

[01:55:45] Like damn near from the start to the finish.

[01:55:47] It started to get a little less scary.

[01:55:49] we don't talk about the shit.

[01:55:51] Yeah.

[01:55:52] I mean,

[01:55:52] it started to get kind of off the rails a bit there.

[01:55:55] And honestly,

[01:55:56] that I think if that part of the game was fine tuned just a little bit more,

[01:56:03] this would have contended for like Resident Evil four and Resident Evil two for me,

[01:56:07] like easily,

[01:56:08] like same level for me,

[01:56:10] it's just below the quality of those games.

[01:56:12] But as a game,

[01:56:15] it's my favorite because I got to play this in VR.

[01:56:19] And it was one of those things where like,

[01:56:22] you remember being a kid and getting like a new console?

[01:56:24] And it's like this wonderment of like,

[01:56:27] what is it?

[01:56:28] Like,

[01:56:28] how does the controller work?

[01:56:30] I'm like,

[01:56:30] what's all the stuff?

[01:56:32] That's kind of what it was like for VR,

[01:56:34] because this was like the first thing I did in VR.

[01:56:36] I got my PSVR.

[01:56:37] And then literally like the next decade.

[01:56:39] Really easing into it lightly.

[01:56:41] That's a hell of a,

[01:56:42] hell of a cherry to pop there,

[01:56:43] man.

[01:56:45] Yeah,

[01:56:45] it was,

[01:56:46] I didn't fuck around dude.

[01:56:47] Like I,

[01:56:49] it was so funny.

[01:56:51] So I got my PSVR and I think it was like a week or two after I got it,

[01:56:55] the Resident Evil seven dropped.

[01:56:57] So the whole week that I had the VR,

[01:57:00] I was just buying up games.

[01:57:02] Like any,

[01:57:02] any fucking old game.

[01:57:03] Cause it was,

[01:57:04] it was just like any game,

[01:57:06] just throw it at me.

[01:57:07] So I played this one game called Robinson or something like the fucking,

[01:57:10] I don't know,

[01:57:11] some dumb game.

[01:57:12] That is the game that got me my,

[01:57:14] my VR legs.

[01:57:16] Because as you probably know,

[01:57:18] a lot of people get motion sick in VR.

[01:57:21] And it fucked me up because I had the smooth,

[01:57:24] like turning on.

[01:57:26] And you know,

[01:57:27] I'm trying to like fucking get into VR and stuff.

[01:57:30] And I play this game for like three hours straight.

[01:57:32] And I ended up throwing up because it made me so VR sick.

[01:57:37] I went,

[01:57:38] laid down,

[01:57:38] had a nap,

[01:57:39] came back and I was like,

[01:57:40] Oh,

[01:57:41] I don't,

[01:57:42] I'm not dizzy anymore.

[01:57:43] So when I,

[01:57:43] when I finally got to Resident Evil seven,

[01:57:45] puked the evil out,

[01:57:46] I,

[01:57:47] I was like all for it.

[01:57:49] But the funniest part was,

[01:57:51] already throwing up because I was so new to VR.

[01:57:56] I thought at first that in order to like turn,

[01:58:01] you had to turn your whole fucking body.

[01:58:03] And I'm getting like wrapped up in like the fucking,

[01:58:06] the VR cable and shit.

[01:58:08] And I'm like,

[01:58:09] this is so fucking stupid.

[01:58:10] And it didn't,

[01:58:11] it didn't occur to me that I could just use the fucking analogs to turn

[01:58:14] and do like the pie turning.

[01:58:16] And yeah,

[01:58:17] the real danger is that you almost killed yourself in real life.

[01:58:20] And my family.

[01:58:23] Almost got divorced from Karen.

[01:58:25] It was,

[01:58:25] yeah,

[01:58:25] it was fucking wild times,

[01:58:27] man.

[01:58:29] Dude,

[01:58:29] the part in this game,

[01:58:31] where I forget,

[01:58:33] which I think it's when you're fighting the mom and she's in like full

[01:58:36] bug form and you're in this like greenhouse or like sunroom or

[01:58:41] something.

[01:58:42] I think something like that.

[01:58:44] It might've been a barn.

[01:58:44] I think that's probably like the most scared I've ever been of a video

[01:58:48] game in my life.

[01:58:49] Cause you're just,

[01:58:49] you're just walking along and like,

[01:58:52] you thought you already killed her,

[01:58:54] but then like,

[01:58:55] bam,

[01:58:56] she fucking comes out of nowhere.

[01:58:57] Like you don't even like,

[01:58:58] as you're going up the stairs,

[01:58:59] she busts through that window.

[01:59:01] Yeah.

[01:59:01] Every experience with her is genuinely horrifying.

[01:59:07] That whole family was amazing.

[01:59:11] Every single one of them.

[01:59:12] Oh,

[01:59:12] and the dad too.

[01:59:14] Jack.

[01:59:15] Fuck dude.

[01:59:16] Fucking hunting you down throughout the house.

[01:59:18] He was like,

[01:59:19] nemesis of the game.

[01:59:20] He was stars of that show.

[01:59:22] Ethan Winters can get fucked.

[01:59:24] I hate Ethan Winters.

[01:59:26] He's the most white bread,

[01:59:28] bland,

[01:59:28] boring,

[01:59:29] cannot deliver a single line to see this.

[01:59:32] He cannot,

[01:59:33] he,

[01:59:34] his voice actor does not know the tone of whatever he's doing.

[01:59:38] It's bad line delivery.

[01:59:39] I hate him.

[01:59:41] The bakers.

[01:59:43] Geniuses.

[01:59:43] Dude.

[01:59:44] Every single one is a star.

[01:59:45] And I remember like watching my brother play through seven.

[01:59:52] And I kept being like,

[01:59:55] man,

[01:59:55] you know,

[01:59:55] what's really weird that this grandma's up here in this wheelchair up these stairs.

[02:00:00] How did she get here?

[02:00:01] And then you go somewhere else.

[02:00:02] He's like,

[02:00:03] how did grandma get here?

[02:00:04] But it's like so much else is going on that you don't really have time to process.

[02:00:08] That's weird because everything is insane and so creepy and scary.

[02:00:12] And then when the reveal happens,

[02:00:14] you're like,

[02:00:14] that's why she was there.

[02:00:16] Okay.

[02:00:18] And it's like the little crumbs were there the whole time.

[02:00:20] It's like not only an amazing horror game with a fantastic,

[02:00:24] like,

[02:00:26] you know,

[02:00:26] cast of villains and all that kind of stuff.

[02:00:30] That's how you do goddamn plot twists.

[02:00:32] Like that's how you do a reveal.

[02:00:34] Like that is actually genius.

[02:00:37] Like what's really going on with this family.

[02:00:41] I love it.

[02:00:42] And the fact that the house was made by the same guy who Trevor,

[02:00:45] who made the Spencer mansion.

[02:00:47] You're just like,

[02:00:49] perfect.

[02:00:49] Love you.

[02:00:49] Thank you.

[02:00:50] Yeah.

[02:00:52] That whole experience was amazing.

[02:00:54] I grandma,

[02:00:55] you bring up grandma and grandma's the whole reason.

[02:00:58] I won't spoil the plot twist just in case someone hasn't played it because

[02:01:01] it's that good of a twist really.

[02:01:03] But for me,

[02:01:04] what makes this game amazing is it's,

[02:01:07] it's not like they went back to roots or anything like that really,

[02:01:10] but they,

[02:01:11] they did recapture what it was that made the original resident evil so good.

[02:01:15] And I think it was that atmosphere more than anything.

[02:01:18] Cause I like,

[02:01:19] yeah,

[02:01:20] I love the older games.

[02:01:21] They've got like their iconic music,

[02:01:22] like the first hall theme and the dining room and the,

[02:01:25] and the raccoon city police department.

[02:01:26] But what I love the most about the presentation and a lot of the older games

[02:01:30] that seven did amazingly well,

[02:01:32] was like the absence of that kind of sound and how they put you in this

[02:01:37] environment of just uncertainty.

[02:01:38] And all you hear is the creaking of wood and just,

[02:01:41] just those ambient sounds like whether you're playing VR or not,

[02:01:46] you're,

[02:01:46] you're injected into this reality really.

[02:01:49] And I just,

[02:01:51] I remember two instances that will always stick with me.

[02:01:53] The first one,

[02:01:54] I think it's in the very beginning.

[02:01:56] You're in the cellar,

[02:01:57] you find a secret passage.

[02:01:58] I think it's behind the fireplace and you're in water for a little bit.

[02:02:01] And this dead body just comes up out of the water.

[02:02:05] It's not,

[02:02:05] it's not like a jump scare.

[02:02:07] It's not like a musical high pitch moment.

[02:02:09] It just floats there and just like bobs in front of you and you have to

[02:02:13] move past this thing.

[02:02:14] And I'm like the absence of sound and music just made that terrifying.

[02:02:19] And I loved it.

[02:02:20] And then something that I was always curious about too.

[02:02:23] Like I always wondered,

[02:02:25] like I found it,

[02:02:26] the game to be extremely scary.

[02:02:28] Because I played it in VR.

[02:02:30] So I always wondered like,

[02:02:31] is this game actually that scary outside of VR?

[02:02:34] So like,

[02:02:35] we're like for you guys playing it outside of VR,

[02:02:38] like it sounds like you,

[02:02:40] you were still like petrified of a lot of parts of this game.

[02:02:43] Oh,

[02:02:44] big,

[02:02:44] big time.

[02:02:45] I mean,

[02:02:45] I would almost say that you have to play this game with a good set of

[02:02:49] like headphones or surround sound system to truly get into it.

[02:02:53] But that's how it was for me.

[02:02:54] I had a good pair of headphones and not all that.

[02:02:57] And like,

[02:02:58] I'd hear the ambient sound around me.

[02:03:00] It was to a point where the ambient sound design was so good in this game.

[02:03:03] Like I would have to stop sometimes take my headphones off and like,

[02:03:06] listen and like looking at the,

[02:03:07] like there was a point where I heard like an ambient noise behind me and I

[02:03:11] whip around expecting to see my daughter because she loves to scare me and

[02:03:14] shit.

[02:03:15] This was one of the first,

[02:03:16] this was one of the first games I think to use the 3d audio,

[02:03:19] right?

[02:03:19] I think so.

[02:03:20] Cause it had the 3d audio that you could set up if you had a,

[02:03:24] had the headphones that supported it.

[02:03:26] Yeah.

[02:03:27] And I,

[02:03:27] I think you're right.

[02:03:28] And,

[02:03:29] and one usage of that,

[02:03:30] of that audio that stuck with me was grandma.

[02:03:33] Now here's,

[02:03:34] here's how this worked for me.

[02:03:35] I can't remember where it was,

[02:03:36] but I remember like going up a set of stairs,

[02:03:38] turning a quarter and there's fucking grandma.

[02:03:40] I'm like,

[02:03:40] Oh,

[02:03:40] what the fuck?

[02:03:41] But I,

[02:03:42] fuck grandma.

[02:03:43] Right.

[02:03:43] But I,

[02:03:43] I'd go somewhere else and she'd be out of my line of sight.

[02:03:46] And I remember stopping Ethan,

[02:03:48] the main character for a minute.

[02:03:49] And then grandma,

[02:03:51] if you wait for a little bit,

[02:03:52] she'll actually start humming to herself.

[02:03:54] And she actually starts humming like the main theme of the game on the

[02:03:58] opening screen.

[02:04:00] Exactly.

[02:04:01] Just,

[02:04:01] just,

[02:04:01] just lightly.

[02:04:02] But as soon as you start moving again,

[02:04:03] she stops.

[02:04:04] Grandma's the genius.

[02:04:08] Genius.

[02:04:09] But they killed it.

[02:04:10] Amazing game.

[02:04:11] Just.

[02:04:12] Yeah.

[02:04:13] It is.

[02:04:13] I can't,

[02:04:14] I can't,

[02:04:14] I can't wait to play it in VR.

[02:04:15] I'm so excited.

[02:04:17] Me and my brother,

[02:04:18] like,

[02:04:18] crazy.

[02:04:19] Full had to like,

[02:04:20] there were times where it was like,

[02:04:21] we would just,

[02:04:23] he would be like,

[02:04:23] I need him.

[02:04:24] Like,

[02:04:24] I can't.

[02:04:25] And I'm like,

[02:04:26] I can't take a puke break.

[02:04:28] Yeah.

[02:04:28] And I'm like,

[02:04:28] I'm not playing.

[02:04:29] He's like,

[02:04:30] I need to breathe.

[02:04:31] And I'm like,

[02:04:32] I'm like,

[02:04:32] okay.

[02:04:33] Yeah,

[02:04:33] me too.

[02:04:34] Like I fully freaked out.

[02:04:36] But I,

[02:04:37] I think that,

[02:04:38] like you said to the atmosphere is just so like that.

[02:04:44] Residence evil,

[02:04:45] you know,

[02:04:45] they really nailed it with that one.

[02:04:47] Um,

[02:04:48] which is funny.

[02:04:49] Then they called it.

[02:04:50] That's the one with biohazard as the title.

[02:04:53] And,

[02:04:53] um,

[02:04:54] yeah,

[02:04:54] they went real fucking full final fan,

[02:04:57] like Japanese final fantasy titles with this one.

[02:04:59] And they were like,

[02:04:59] you guys want to get confused real quick?

[02:05:01] Check this out.

[02:05:03] Resident evil biohazard.

[02:05:05] That's not both of them.

[02:05:07] That's both of them.

[02:05:08] But I,

[02:05:09] I truly like,

[02:05:10] I think that it's just,

[02:05:11] it's like so smartly done.

[02:05:13] Like so much is very like smartly done.

[02:05:16] Like I,

[02:05:16] my only complaint is,

[02:05:17] I hate Ethan genuinely hate him.

[02:05:21] Why did they do that to me personally?

[02:05:23] Um,

[02:05:24] I think they tried so hard to have the player imprint on him in some way,

[02:05:28] but I just felt like I imprinted on a sad,

[02:05:31] lonely man.

[02:05:32] He sucks.

[02:05:34] He's cause like you're,

[02:05:36] you're,

[02:05:36] I agree.

[02:05:37] I think they wanted you,

[02:05:38] they wanted to make him kind of like bland enough to,

[02:05:41] so anybody could like,

[02:05:43] you know,

[02:05:43] put yourself in his shoes or whatever.

[02:05:46] But they also gave,

[02:05:48] gave him like enough dialogue and weird dialogue at odd times.

[02:05:53] Like,

[02:05:53] shut the fuck up.

[02:05:55] You don't need to comment on like,

[02:05:56] Oh my God.

[02:05:57] Why does this always happen to me?

[02:06:00] Why is this wrench not in the toolbox or something fucking stupid?

[02:06:04] Why is my dick in my hand?

[02:06:07] And he's like,

[02:06:08] his tone of voice is like,

[02:06:10] so not at the level of like this,

[02:06:12] every other character.

[02:06:14] And I'm just like,

[02:06:16] it's just creepy.

[02:06:17] The only time he gets it right is when he's getting his hand sawed off.

[02:06:21] Oh,

[02:06:22] that was my favorite part.

[02:06:23] He's a scream queen.

[02:06:24] That's the real reason they hired him.

[02:06:26] I love like afterwards,

[02:06:28] he's like,

[02:06:28] Oh,

[02:06:29] it hurts so much.

[02:06:30] And he pours like Mountain Dew on it or some shit.

[02:06:32] And it's cool.

[02:06:33] Like he's fine.

[02:06:34] Yeah,

[02:06:35] dude.

[02:06:35] Pours a fucking,

[02:06:36] yeah,

[02:06:37] 40 of Mountain Dew on there.

[02:06:38] And it's fine.

[02:06:40] I,

[02:06:40] this is like,

[02:06:41] only the finest dew.

[02:06:43] He does show up the very end.

[02:06:45] So it's like slightly,

[02:06:46] spoilery.

[02:06:47] So I guess if you just plug your ears for like two,

[02:06:50] for a second or two,

[02:06:51] starting now,

[02:06:52] starting now,

[02:06:53] Chris showing up at the end and looking like he's been anorexic for like the past

[02:06:57] eight years.

[02:06:58] That was a jarring experience.

[02:06:59] I was like,

[02:07:00] who the fuck is this guy?

[02:07:01] Jarring.

[02:07:01] When they said,

[02:07:02] I didn't realize it was for credits.

[02:07:03] What's Steve Buscemi in this game?

[02:07:04] I didn't realize it's a little close.

[02:07:05] I'm like,

[02:07:06] that's what the fuck?

[02:07:07] Or he said,

[02:07:09] right.

[02:07:10] He like reaches out his hand and says who he is.

[02:07:12] And I'm like,

[02:07:13] no,

[02:07:13] you're not.

[02:07:14] I genuinely believed he was lying.

[02:07:16] I'm like,

[02:07:16] that's a body double.

[02:07:18] That's a liar.

[02:07:18] That's a liar.

[02:07:19] He addressed himself by his last name.

[02:07:21] I'm Redfield.

[02:07:22] And it's like,

[02:07:23] the fuck?

[02:07:24] Which one?

[02:07:24] Yeah.

[02:07:24] Which one?

[02:07:25] Right.

[02:07:26] Steve Buscemi Redfield.

[02:07:29] I was like,

[02:07:29] this is a liar.

[02:07:33] Okay.

[02:07:33] Okay.

[02:07:34] We're getting on to the past the two hour mark.

[02:07:37] Let's get to eight.

[02:07:38] So yeah,

[02:07:39] I've never been,

[02:07:40] I have never wanted to be stepped on more in my life than with Lady Demetrescu.

[02:07:44] I thought you were going to say,

[02:07:45] and then Chris gets yoked out again.

[02:07:47] And then Chris gets yoked.

[02:07:49] And I'll let's,

[02:07:50] let's,

[02:07:50] let's fucking run a train on Jerry in this game.

[02:07:53] All right.

[02:07:53] Let's fucking get,

[02:07:54] let's get fucking Redfield stepping on me.

[02:07:56] Get fucking Demetrescu.

[02:07:57] I want to climb her like a fucking thick oak.

[02:07:59] Like,

[02:08:00] like,

[02:08:01] did you say the thick oak?

[02:08:08] That,

[02:08:08] that character,

[02:08:10] Lady,

[02:08:10] Lady,

[02:08:11] Lady D as it were,

[02:08:13] was the best,

[02:08:14] but I also argue probably one of the worst things about that entire game.

[02:08:18] And I only say that because she was so underutilized.

[02:08:21] Yeah.

[02:08:22] Yep.

[02:08:22] Yep.

[02:08:23] A thousand percent.

[02:08:23] All marketing.

[02:08:25] She,

[02:08:25] she like the marketing,

[02:08:27] like she carried the marketing weight on her back,

[02:08:30] like uphill both ways.

[02:08:31] She threw a vanity.

[02:08:32] Really?

[02:08:33] She threw a vanity.

[02:08:34] The way,

[02:08:35] the way they marketed the game with her,

[02:08:37] it was like,

[02:08:37] she was supposed to be the Mr.

[02:08:39] X or like the nemesis,

[02:08:40] but she,

[02:08:41] she kind of was just in the castle.

[02:08:44] And then there.

[02:08:44] Yeah.

[02:08:45] Yeah.

[02:08:46] Right.

[02:08:46] And,

[02:08:46] and now all she's known for is how modders mod your character with a fly

[02:08:50] swatter.

[02:08:51] So you can smack her ass.

[02:08:52] Oh yeah.

[02:08:53] Like it's such stupid.

[02:08:55] Well,

[02:08:55] that's hilarious.

[02:08:56] That's such a huge,

[02:08:57] that's crazy.

[02:08:58] How do you install this?

[02:08:59] How do you need to tell Gary exactly how to do it?

[02:09:02] So we can avoid accident.

[02:09:03] I'm accidentally doing it.

[02:09:05] Yeah.

[02:09:05] Tell me,

[02:09:05] I want to make sure I don't do it.

[02:09:07] Tell me where I find this.

[02:09:08] Then leave me alone for two hours.

[02:09:10] God forbid my wife listens to this.

[02:09:12] I can't,

[02:09:13] this conversation never happened,

[02:09:14] but no,

[02:09:17] she was supposed to be a lot bigger of a role that mixed.

[02:09:21] She is Mr.

[02:09:22] X for like a hot minute.

[02:09:23] She chases you around her mansion or whatever.

[02:09:25] And that was actually really cool.

[02:09:26] I liked her character,

[02:09:27] her,

[02:09:27] her daughters,

[02:09:29] although they were,

[02:09:29] they were great.

[02:09:30] The way she like ducks underneath the,

[02:09:34] the doorway stuff.

[02:09:35] Yeah.

[02:09:36] Cause she's like eight foot fucking tall.

[02:09:38] And then you see her duck in.

[02:09:40] Eight also had a really good down.

[02:09:41] Oh,

[02:09:42] so fucking creepy.

[02:09:43] Yeah.

[02:09:43] Yeah.

[02:09:44] And it was,

[02:09:44] it was perfect,

[02:09:45] but I,

[02:09:46] I finally got to play village.

[02:09:48] Actually,

[02:09:48] it's been two,

[02:09:49] three weeks ago.

[02:09:49] I finally got to play it.

[02:09:50] So it's pretty fresh.

[02:09:51] Oh,

[02:09:52] so you're fresh.

[02:09:53] I know.

[02:09:53] I,

[02:09:53] I kept putting it off.

[02:09:55] I don't want to get into it.

[02:09:56] I don't know why,

[02:09:56] but,

[02:09:57] but finally played it.

[02:09:58] But I just remember,

[02:09:59] I think it was maybe two hours in and I'm,

[02:10:02] I'm killing her and she's dead and gone.

[02:10:04] And it's just like,

[02:10:05] yeah,

[02:10:06] yeah.

[02:10:06] What the fuck is the rest of the game?

[02:10:08] So I will say this.

[02:10:10] Sorry,

[02:10:11] go ahead.

[02:10:12] No,

[02:10:12] no,

[02:10:12] you're good.

[02:10:12] Cool.

[02:10:13] Go ahead.

[02:10:13] I was going to say the castle in Resident Evil eight and like the village leading up to it.

[02:10:21] Yes.

[02:10:21] Chef's kiss.

[02:10:22] Big time.

[02:10:23] Chef's fucking kiss.

[02:10:24] I fucking hate the house with the doll.

[02:10:26] It's so dumb.

[02:10:28] I love that one.

[02:10:29] Dude,

[02:10:29] that part,

[02:10:30] it was scared.

[02:10:32] So short.

[02:10:33] Fucking piss out of me,

[02:10:35] dude.

[02:10:36] That was fucking insane.

[02:10:38] The fucking big aborted baby fucking thing.

[02:10:41] Wah,

[02:10:41] wah all over the place.

[02:10:42] yeah.

[02:10:43] Okay.

[02:10:43] That's,

[02:10:43] yeah,

[02:10:44] that was cool.

[02:10:44] Fucked,

[02:10:45] dude.

[02:10:45] That was so insane.

[02:10:47] I think that like,

[02:10:49] for me,

[02:10:49] I think that after that part,

[02:10:51] it actually,

[02:10:52] the game starts to really fall off.

[02:10:54] I actually think the second half of age is pretty boring.

[02:10:58] Yeah.

[02:10:58] The fish guy sucks.

[02:10:59] The,

[02:10:59] the place with Heisenberg is just like very narrow corridors to get like one V one stuck

[02:11:06] with like those guys who,

[02:11:08] you know,

[02:11:08] swing their arms wildly.

[02:11:09] So it like really got boring,

[02:11:12] which I think that is something that,

[02:11:14] um,

[02:11:15] Resident Evil usually is really good.

[02:11:16] Like I said,

[02:11:17] it like disrupting your comfortability.

[02:11:19] And I,

[02:11:20] I don't think it did that very well,

[02:11:23] like in that area,

[02:11:24] but like the final boss fights,

[02:11:26] like fucking awesome.

[02:11:27] Peak character design,

[02:11:29] like final boss form stuff.

[02:11:31] Like that's all great.

[02:11:33] But the merchant,

[02:11:34] we got the merchant guy.

[02:11:37] Oh,

[02:11:37] the Duke.

[02:11:38] The Duke is great.

[02:11:40] Yeah.

[02:11:41] I think the Duke should have only spoken rhyme.

[02:11:43] That would have been fun.

[02:11:45] Yeah.

[02:11:46] I like,

[02:11:46] I like the robot master ending of the fourth part with Heisenberg.

[02:11:50] Yeah.

[02:11:51] That was like robot master.

[02:11:52] Are you making a fucking reference?

[02:11:55] I love that.

[02:11:55] Like,

[02:11:56] uh,

[02:11:56] also like when you're in that part,

[02:11:58] he taunts Chris by being like,

[02:12:00] Oh,

[02:12:00] I'm going to punch some boulders.

[02:12:01] It's like,

[02:12:02] how do you know that?

[02:12:03] Right.

[02:12:03] How do you know that?

[02:12:04] It's funny.

[02:12:05] It's funny.

[02:12:06] And I appreciate it.

[02:12:07] Do it a fucking lights them up.

[02:12:08] Like crazy.

[02:12:09] He can't stand it.

[02:12:10] It was only Chris.

[02:12:11] It was only Chris.

[02:12:12] Sheva and Wes.

[02:12:14] You're so wrong.

[02:12:16] Like big man punching boulders.

[02:12:18] That's pure fan service.

[02:12:20] And it was awesome.

[02:12:21] It is.

[02:12:21] And I loved it.

[02:12:22] I was like,

[02:12:22] when that happened,

[02:12:23] I was like,

[02:12:23] Ooh,

[02:12:24] baby,

[02:12:24] I love that.

[02:12:26] Yeah.

[02:12:28] Village for me was,

[02:12:29] was,

[02:12:29] was good.

[02:12:30] I really liked it,

[02:12:31] but it was one of those.

[02:12:32] It started off really good.

[02:12:34] Um,

[02:12:35] even though it kind of had some slower moments where you're walking through the

[02:12:37] forest for nine minutes,

[02:12:38] trying to figure out where the hell you're supposed to go.

[02:12:40] But once you get to the village and you get to the castle,

[02:12:42] it's got a lot of really good build.

[02:12:44] Exactly.

[02:12:45] The werewolf enemies are really cool to fight.

[02:12:47] There's a lot of tension.

[02:12:48] And for me,

[02:12:50] I,

[02:12:50] I know this game is a lot more action focused,

[02:12:52] but I felt like I was constantly running out of ammo and I had to

[02:12:55] constantly think of ways to tackle different obstacles.

[02:12:58] Like,

[02:12:58] like it was good.

[02:12:59] But to your point,

[02:13:00] Beth,

[02:13:00] near the end,

[02:13:01] when you get towards like Heisenberg's layer in the factory and

[02:13:03] stuff,

[02:13:04] I felt like at that point,

[02:13:05] the game developers felt rushed and things were just put together too

[02:13:09] quickly.

[02:13:10] And while I agree,

[02:13:11] the final boss battle was amazing.

[02:13:14] The character design was awesome.

[02:13:15] I didn't appreciate the fact that the main antagonist in this video game had

[02:13:20] like maybe 10 minutes total screen time and presence.

[02:13:23] Agreed.

[02:13:23] So I didn't really feel like there was this big climactic,

[02:13:27] like I felt more of that when I was fighting lady D on top of the castle

[02:13:31] than I did this,

[02:13:32] this thing at the end.

[02:13:34] But,

[02:13:35] but I also kind of liked the conclusion of the winter story for,

[02:13:39] for,

[02:13:40] for what it was.

[02:13:41] It was fine.

[02:13:41] It just collapses into a pile of fucking shit or whatever.

[02:13:45] The DLC?

[02:13:46] I haven't played the DLC yet.

[02:13:49] Dude.

[02:13:50] the DLC is pretty good.

[02:13:52] No,

[02:13:52] I'm not going to spoil anything.

[02:13:54] I will just say either.

[02:13:56] There's a part in that DLC that made me scream out loud.

[02:14:02] Greg and Beth were watching me play.

[02:14:04] And I,

[02:14:05] it was akin to the Resident Evil seven moment where I was like,

[02:14:09] I don't know,

[02:14:10] man.

[02:14:10] I don't know if I can do this.

[02:14:12] I cannot physically force myself to do this part.

[02:14:15] Like it was terrifying.

[02:14:17] It's worth playing.

[02:14:18] Jerry,

[02:14:18] me and Greg were also freaking the fuck out a little.

[02:14:21] Like it wasn't just,

[02:14:22] it was half laughing at Jerry because he had to play it and freak out.

[02:14:26] But like,

[02:14:27] also we were both like,

[02:14:29] dude,

[02:14:30] like,

[02:14:30] Oh my God.

[02:14:31] Um,

[02:14:32] Oh,

[02:14:33] I can't wait.

[02:14:33] This sounds fun.

[02:14:34] Dude,

[02:14:35] do it.

[02:14:35] It's that,

[02:14:36] that,

[02:14:36] that DLC is like pretty good.

[02:14:38] It's worth playing for that part alone.

[02:14:42] Awesome.

[02:14:43] Can I say that?

[02:14:44] Like one thing that with a,

[02:14:45] I think that it's fine the way it is,

[02:14:47] but something that I would have been more,

[02:14:49] slightly more interested in is that,

[02:14:51] uh,

[02:14:52] with seven,

[02:14:53] we found out that Mia was part of a terrorist organization.

[02:14:56] So I would have been more interested in seeing like Mia have to go through,

[02:15:02] um,

[02:15:03] the prison system.

[02:15:04] Well,

[02:15:05] no,

[02:15:05] no.

[02:15:05] Yeah.

[02:15:05] That's your name.

[02:15:06] Guantanamo Bay.

[02:15:08] If we had like,

[02:15:09] I don't know,

[02:15:09] gotten to play a little bit,

[02:15:10] like,

[02:15:11] I think as like Mia through it,

[02:15:13] uh,

[02:15:13] it could have done,

[02:15:14] it could have been interesting.

[02:15:15] Cause like you wouldn't have had to have that,

[02:15:17] uh,

[02:15:18] book at the beginning where Ethan comments on,

[02:15:21] yeah,

[02:15:21] I've been reading up about weapons.

[02:15:22] Cause now he's suddenly all good with every weapon.

[02:15:25] Yeah.

[02:15:25] That was,

[02:15:26] that was like the,

[02:15:28] that was the quickest way to explain how we could use weapons.

[02:15:31] So I was like,

[02:15:32] Oh,

[02:15:32] I'm just,

[02:15:32] I'm tired from military training.

[02:15:36] And so I'm like,

[02:15:38] but Mia's a terrorist.

[02:15:39] So she probably knows weapons.

[02:15:40] So you didn't even need to have that like happen.

[02:15:43] And,

[02:15:44] um,

[02:15:44] I would have been more that.

[02:15:46] So the terrorist organization that she was a part of is connected to some of

[02:15:49] the things that Ada had been,

[02:15:51] um,

[02:15:51] involved in,

[02:15:52] in six.

[02:15:54] So I,

[02:15:55] I would have also,

[02:15:56] so another reason I would have liked to have known a bit more about that.

[02:15:59] And then you have like mother Miranda and this very like maternal figure

[02:16:04] antagonist and who takes,

[02:16:07] um,

[02:16:08] very obviously very early,

[02:16:09] the beginning,

[02:16:10] the reason you're doing it takes away a child from these parents.

[02:16:14] And so that's a,

[02:16:15] rips her up,

[02:16:16] but it's like maternal figure.

[02:16:18] Sure.

[02:16:18] And so the,

[02:16:19] I think there would have been the interesting,

[02:16:21] and then you have lady D with her daughter.

[02:16:22] So I think there would have been a little bit more of an interesting kind of like theme

[02:16:26] to be touching on.

[02:16:27] If there was a,

[02:16:28] like,

[02:16:28] if it was Mia kind of,

[02:16:30] you know,

[02:16:30] mother going for get back her child from Miranda,

[02:16:34] who is in a way a mother of her own.

[02:16:37] So it could have like,

[02:16:39] even though,

[02:16:39] even though mother Miranda was barely in it,

[02:16:41] it could have,

[02:16:42] you know,

[02:16:43] inadvertently added a little bit to the character that you could kind of like glean through,

[02:16:48] you know,

[02:16:49] but,

[02:16:50] you know,

[02:16:51] I was like,

[02:16:53] even though this one's not at the top of the list of Resident Evil games,

[02:16:58] I still highly recommend this one.

[02:17:00] Absolutely.

[02:17:01] It's,

[02:17:01] it's still very fun to play.

[02:17:03] It's,

[02:17:03] it's got its weird story wonky moments and things like that.

[02:17:06] But for me,

[02:17:06] I'll go back to it because I had a blast playing it.

[02:17:09] It was,

[02:17:09] it was fun,

[02:17:10] uh,

[02:17:10] engaging monsters.

[02:17:11] The puzzles were,

[02:17:12] were fun to engage with the,

[02:17:14] the environments were really well done for the most part.

[02:17:16] I mean,

[02:17:17] it's a solid game.

[02:17:18] There's no reason not to play it.

[02:17:20] Yeah.

[02:17:21] And I'm sorry,

[02:17:21] Aaron.

[02:17:22] Except for the fish lady area.

[02:17:23] Yeah.

[02:17:23] The fish guy.

[02:17:24] Fuck the fish guy.

[02:17:25] I'm sorry,

[02:17:25] Aaron.

[02:17:25] I loved the part where it turned into an escape room when it was,

[02:17:29] when I was suddenly playing like the 999.

[02:17:34] And I was like,

[02:17:35] those are cool.

[02:17:36] I do love this.

[02:17:38] I just,

[02:17:39] I guess when I was playing eight,

[02:17:40] I was in full,

[02:17:42] like survival horror,

[02:17:44] like kick ass,

[02:17:45] shoot shit in the fucking,

[02:17:46] face mode.

[02:17:48] Not,

[02:17:48] yeah,

[02:17:48] like 999 virtues,

[02:17:50] last reward,

[02:17:51] fucking spin the globe and combine these colors to solve the puzzle kind of shit.

[02:17:56] It was the only part in the whole game where I was like,

[02:17:58] hand the control over to me,

[02:18:01] brother.

[02:18:02] I got it.

[02:18:03] I,

[02:18:04] I,

[02:18:04] I,

[02:18:04] I stayed hidden in like one of the two lockers for like,

[02:18:07] I don't know,

[02:18:08] 15 minutes.

[02:18:09] Cause.

[02:18:10] Yeah.

[02:18:11] While I had a scary blast.

[02:18:13] Uh,

[02:18:14] uh,

[02:18:15] yeah.

[02:18:16] Well,

[02:18:16] if you thought that part was fucking scary.

[02:18:19] When you're running down the hall.

[02:18:21] And then I was like,

[02:18:22] I remember being like,

[02:18:23] there's something there.

[02:18:24] And then like the face gets closer of like the baby.

[02:18:28] Yeah.

[02:18:28] I was like,

[02:18:28] I was like,

[02:18:29] you were running in the hallway and I was like,

[02:18:30] there's something coming in the darkness.

[02:18:32] And then it like showed up and I was like,

[02:18:35] like screamed.

[02:18:37] Is that a similar moment,

[02:18:40] uh,

[02:18:40] Gary,

[02:18:40] where your dick also fell off?

[02:18:42] Yeah.

[02:18:43] Dick fell off a few times.

[02:18:44] I had to patch it up numerous times in this game.

[02:18:48] Um,

[02:18:49] but yeah,

[02:18:50] no,

[02:18:50] I think,

[02:18:51] I think we need to make a blood pact here that when Resident Evil nine comes out,

[02:18:55] we need to get together as a panel and review the Resident Evil nine.

[02:18:59] Cause I'm,

[02:19:00] I'm excited to see there's been a,

[02:19:02] there's been some news coming out about Resident Evil nine.

[02:19:04] It is a hundred percent in the works.

[02:19:06] They said that they,

[02:19:07] Oh,

[02:19:08] they got the,

[02:19:09] uh,

[02:19:09] the fucking most of the team from Resident Evil seven back.

[02:19:13] So they were like,

[02:19:14] Hey,

[02:19:14] guess what?

[02:19:14] This one's going to be really fucking scary again.

[02:19:17] I guess he was not going to be the main protagonist.

[02:19:19] Hooray.

[02:19:20] Ethan.

[02:19:20] They're going to be like,

[02:19:21] Oh,

[02:19:21] we brought him here.

[02:19:22] We know you love Ethan winter.

[02:19:24] So we brought him back from the dead.

[02:19:25] We got a service pro mold cleaner guy to clean the mold out of Ethan.

[02:19:30] So he's all good.

[02:19:31] If they ever brought him back,

[02:19:33] I think there would be so much fan backlash.

[02:19:35] They would change.

[02:19:36] Yeah.

[02:19:36] We live in that kind of world now.

[02:19:38] It'd be like that one episode of family guy where they killed off Brian and replaced him with the Italian dog.

[02:19:42] And everybody was like,

[02:19:44] why?

[02:19:45] Come on.

[02:19:46] What's the point?

[02:19:46] I kind of like that Italian dog,

[02:19:48] but I'm biased.

[02:19:49] It was fucking cool though.

[02:19:50] I think seven like stood on it like so well,

[02:19:54] like with the bakers and like on vibes and everything like that.

[02:19:56] And it didn't matter how boring Ethan was.

[02:19:59] And Ethan just could not really carry a eight at all,

[02:20:03] especially when you introduce Chris immediately.

[02:20:05] And I'm like,

[02:20:06] I'd much rather be following whatever the fuck he's doing.

[02:20:09] Like,

[02:20:09] you know,

[02:20:10] Chris is around here somewhere.

[02:20:12] Can we find him?

[02:20:14] So,

[02:20:15] that'd be nice.

[02:20:15] I say we,

[02:20:17] we make a blood pact to review Resident Evil nine together.

[02:20:45] Aaron,

[02:20:46] get us the fuck out of here,

[02:20:47] dude.

[02:20:47] Get us,

[02:20:47] get us out of here.

[02:20:48] Beth,

[02:20:49] unlock the door,

[02:20:49] please.

[02:20:50] Yeah,

[02:20:51] please,

[02:20:51] please unlock the door.

[02:20:52] Please let us out of here.

[02:20:54] Door's locked.

[02:20:56] Oh my God.

[02:20:58] That's my fuck face impression.

[02:21:02] Here's my fuck face.

[02:21:04] God damn it.

[02:21:05] This has been such a good episode.

[02:21:07] Um,

[02:21:07] well,

[02:21:08] fuck.

[02:21:08] Thank you.

[02:21:09] Uh,

[02:21:09] thank you.

[02:21:10] No man.

[02:21:10] I almost call you Jeff for a second.

[02:21:12] I don't know why.

[02:21:14] I'm so fucking tired.

[02:21:17] Thank you.

[02:21:18] Random white man.

[02:21:19] Hooray.

[02:21:20] I am that.

[02:21:22] Thank you.

[02:21:23] No man for coming on.

[02:21:24] Thank you,

[02:21:24] Beth for coming on and making your,

[02:21:26] your super ghost X super pod saga debut.

[02:21:29] It's great to have you both on here with your,

[02:21:36] So yeah,

[02:21:37] Jerry,

[02:21:37] if for God forbid,

[02:21:38] anybody needs more super pod saga,

[02:21:40] where the hell can they find us?

[02:21:41] You know where they can go,

[02:21:43] dude,

[02:21:43] they can go straight to hell.

[02:21:45] They can go straight to hell,

[02:21:46] but if they don't want to go straight to hell,

[02:21:49] if they want to go straight to hell,

[02:21:51] they can go to super pod network.com and find all kinds of our friends.

[02:21:59] I promise you.

[02:22:00] That's right.
