[00:00:00] Thrak, I love that your title is Coming and Going.

[00:00:02] Well, you asked me about the Come and Go gas station, so that's all I'm thinking about now.

[00:00:07] Wait, that's an actual thing?

[00:00:08] Yeah, it's spelled K-U-M.

[00:00:11] There's a whole chain of gas stations called Come and Go.

[00:00:13] They have Come and Go in Oklahoma?

[00:00:15] Yeah!

[00:00:16] Is that not everywhere? I thought they had Come and Go in fucking Africa and stuff.

[00:00:21] I'm in Ohio, it's not in Ohio.

[00:00:23] Do you all also call it like Sperm and Split and Ejaculate and Evacuate and Blow a Tire?

[00:00:30] I've got like 80 of those in my-

[00:00:31] I'm gonna go jog to Come and then we just ignore the rest of it.

[00:00:36] What else is there?

[00:00:38] Sperm and Split, Ejaculate and Evacuate, Blow a Load and Blow a Tire.

[00:00:44] I think that's it actually.

[00:00:46] That one doesn't work as much.

[00:00:48] Yeah, that's too much words. Too many words.

[00:00:50] Blow a load and go on home.

[00:00:54] I don't know.

[00:00:55] So I'm like, it's rhyme at least a little bit.

[00:00:59] It's just some post-nut clarity, that's all.

[00:01:02] What it do everybody? My name is Aaron.

[00:01:04] Much like a table at Chili's, I'm unstable.

[00:01:07] And you're listening to Super Pod Saga.

[00:01:20] Jerry's got back issue. Yeah, so listeners, Jerry, his back hurts.

[00:01:24] I don't know what the fuck he did, if it was from the renovations or from just-

[00:01:28] Jerry's back out, you know? What's going on?

[00:01:31] I'm sorry, man.

[00:01:32] Come and go, fella.

[00:01:34] This is investigative journalism. We need to find this out.

[00:01:38] Yeah, where's Tommy at?

[00:01:39] He'll know all about that.

[00:01:41] Cite your sources, as Tommy would say.

[00:01:44] That's a perfect Tommy impression. It was like he was here.

[00:01:47] It's almost like I am him.

[00:01:49] We're in his car.

[00:01:49] We're in his car right now.

[00:01:52] I took a picture with that car. It's pretty sweet, man.

[00:01:55] It was.

[00:01:56] Speaking of Tommy, I saw that you posted on your Twitter earlier today.

[00:02:00] It was against all odds, against the universe trying to keep him from it.

[00:02:04] He's finally obtained a Steam Deck.

[00:02:07] What is he going to do?

[00:02:08] What is he going to do on that now?

[00:02:09] What is he?

[00:02:09] He doesn't play modern games, does he?

[00:02:11] He's going to play and just going to emulate the fuck out of it.

[00:02:14] 2005 on it.

[00:02:15] Yeah, he's just going to play some fucking like spreadsheet sports simulator game.

[00:02:23] He is playing Octopath Traveler 2, though.

[00:02:26] And he really likes that, which is nice.

[00:02:28] That's a good one.

[00:02:31] What else was he playing?

[00:02:32] Terrible handheld game, though.

[00:02:34] Oh, he's also playing Metroid Fusion, but he got an Anvernex.

[00:02:37] Hell yeah.

[00:02:37] Yeah, he's playing on that, too.

[00:02:39] Love that game.

[00:02:40] He's getting real fancy.

[00:02:41] Yeah, he is.

[00:02:42] He's very fancy.

[00:02:43] For any first time listeners, this is it.

[00:02:45] This is the show.

[00:02:46] Hey, this is the podcast where we talk about a different video game topic.

[00:02:50] Each week with different guests.

[00:02:52] And God damn it.

[00:02:53] Do we have a shit ton of them?

[00:02:55] We've got four guests, but it's awesome.

[00:02:58] Let's start with the.

[00:02:59] Let's start with the faces that people know already.

[00:03:03] Hello, Dave.

[00:03:04] You've been on here about 20 times so far.

[00:03:07] How's it going, man?

[00:03:08] Or a nave or dark Aaron.

[00:03:10] I almost.

[00:03:11] Yeah.

[00:03:12] Almost just co-opted your whole entire existence.

[00:03:14] I was trying.

[00:03:15] I was running for your.

[00:03:16] I was going for your spot last week whenever you were looking for recording, right?

[00:03:21] On Tuesday.

[00:03:22] I mean, Tuesday on Twitter.

[00:03:23] Whatever the fuck it's called.

[00:03:24] I think so.

[00:03:25] I forget already, man.

[00:03:27] Dude, things go by fast.

[00:03:29] Then we also have this one coming up on Sunday for cassette piece.

[00:03:33] Yeah.

[00:03:33] Yes.

[00:03:34] Dude, I'm going to be recording.

[00:03:35] I'm going to be recording with a play along for something else.

[00:03:39] And then right after that, jumping into cassette piece.

[00:03:41] I want to do.

[00:03:41] You know what I want to do?

[00:03:42] I want to have a seven day in a row, I guess, on somebody's podcast.

[00:03:46] Every single day.

[00:03:47] I don't get to do anything for myself.

[00:03:49] How are you going to eat?

[00:03:50] Are you.

[00:03:51] Is this one whole day?

[00:03:52] Like a McDonald's binge for seven days.

[00:03:54] Yeah.

[00:03:54] Uber eats.

[00:03:55] I'm going to Uber eats ramen.

[00:03:57] Is that a Bud Light Platinum on your desk?

[00:04:00] What is that blue bottle?

[00:04:02] No, this is.

[00:04:03] Okay.

[00:04:03] Hold on.

[00:04:04] Oh, I see.

[00:04:06] This is.

[00:04:07] This is.

[00:04:08] Aussie kids.

[00:04:09] I need some moist detangler because dude, my girlfriend won't stop brushing my hair.

[00:04:15] Cause I won't do it myself.

[00:04:16] And I'm about to break up with her over it, but I'm such a little bitch.

[00:04:20] Cause my head is so tender that she bought kids detangler and it just sits on my desk.

[00:04:25] Cause this is the only place that she can, when I'm editing the podcast that she can brush my hair.

[00:04:29] So wait, when you edit podcasts, you just have someone sitting behind you brushing your hair.

[00:04:33] Yeah.

[00:04:34] This thing I've ever heard.

[00:04:37] That's incredible.

[00:04:38] God, that sounds awesome.

[00:04:40] She is a saint.

[00:04:43] Speaking of saints.

[00:04:44] Hello, Thrak.

[00:04:45] Welcome back once more.

[00:04:46] Hello.

[00:04:47] Hi.

[00:04:47] How are you, Aaron?

[00:04:48] We were just doing 3DO the other day, I think.

[00:04:51] But yeah, I, you called an audible.

[00:04:53] Cause I was like, all right, I'm going to relax tonight, not do shit.

[00:04:56] And you're like, dude, we got to do a podcast.

[00:04:58] I'm like, Oh, what are we doing?

[00:05:00] He's like sequels.

[00:05:00] I'm like, okay, I'm in.

[00:05:02] So here I am.

[00:05:03] I'm here.

[00:05:04] I'm here to talk about numbers after, after games.

[00:05:07] So I'll come over here and talk about it.

[00:05:09] And I may or may not be playing power wash the entire time.

[00:05:12] You know, Aaron could get us all on here to talk about like butt plug size and we'll fucking,

[00:05:15] I'll figure it out.

[00:05:17] I don't know what the hell it is.

[00:05:18] We'll text native native butts.

[00:05:21] Plug them.

[00:05:22] Put your list.

[00:05:24] Yeah.

[00:05:25] Let's go.

[00:05:26] There we go.

[00:05:27] Yeah.

[00:05:27] I'll call in some favors.

[00:05:31] Oh yeah.

[00:05:32] This, uh, and we've got two, two returning faces, but it's been a hot minute.

[00:05:37] Um, hello, Troy.

[00:05:38] It's been, I think we did.

[00:05:39] It was best launch titles.

[00:05:41] Yeah.

[00:05:42] Yeah, it was.

[00:05:43] That's right.

[00:05:44] I actually was trying to remember what I was on here for before.

[00:05:47] And then forgot to just check.

[00:05:49] Cause that would have been really easy to look it up, but I didn't.

[00:05:52] But yeah, that's what it was.

[00:05:53] It was launch titles.

[00:05:54] I think I was thinking it was Game Boy Advance, but I did that with play a lot recently.

[00:05:57] That's why I was tripped up.

[00:05:59] And then we were all right.

[00:06:01] We were going to do Game Boy Advance.

[00:06:03] Cause I just started playing.

[00:06:04] I remembered.

[00:06:04] I remember things that happened more than 12 minutes ago.

[00:06:07] Um, yeah.

[00:06:09] Hi.

[00:06:10] This is so chaotic.

[00:06:11] I love it.

[00:06:12] I know dude.

[00:06:13] It's so great.

[00:06:14] Yeah.

[00:06:14] We were, yeah, we were supposed to do Game Boy Advance today.

[00:06:17] And then Jerry's like, no, it's retro.

[00:06:19] Save it for the retro show.

[00:06:20] And I was like, all right, well, uh, let's do something else.

[00:06:23] And then sequels was the other one that jumped out at me.

[00:06:25] Cause sequels, sequels is an interesting topic.

[00:06:28] Yeah.

[00:06:28] Uh, yeah.

[00:06:30] Yeah.

[00:06:30] Yeah.

[00:06:31] We thought, I think, I think we had Bill on it.

[00:06:35] Like Tommy and I talked with Bill about sequels.

[00:06:37] I think that was one of our first, our first episodes of Super Pop Saga.

[00:06:42] I think it was like 31.

[00:06:43] That sounds, I want to say.

[00:06:44] Is that when Bill died?

[00:06:47] I think so.

[00:06:48] Or he died at the end.

[00:06:49] I'm pretty sure.

[00:06:52] Rip Meal.

[00:06:53] Dude, I am fucking, I don't know what's going on.

[00:06:55] No meal for real meal.

[00:06:55] I'm like shifting through like 20 different accents throughout all.

[00:06:59] I don't know what the fuck's going on, man.

[00:07:00] That's all good.

[00:07:01] I do it all the fucking time.

[00:07:03] Will.

[00:07:05] Will.

[00:07:05] Will.

[00:07:07] Also returning is Nick from the, no, antagonist episode.

[00:07:12] Hello, Nick.

[00:07:13] What's going on the air?

[00:07:15] Yeah.

[00:07:15] It's been a, it's been a hot minute since that antagonist episode, but like, I'm still

[00:07:19] trying to remember who we talked about then, but regardless, I remember that was a really,

[00:07:23] really fun one.

[00:07:24] So, and also I got, I got Kirby with me.

[00:07:26] I got our, our boy, you know, hanging out with me for the podcast here.

[00:07:30] So yeah, I'm happy.

[00:07:32] I'm, I'm locked in.

[00:07:33] I'm loaded today and I'm here to antagonize Nave.

[00:07:35] Yeah.

[00:07:36] You probably talked about that bastard, dark Aaron.

[00:07:41] It's very easy to do.

[00:07:46] Oh yeah.

[00:07:47] There we go.

[00:07:48] I've got the whole, sorry.

[00:07:49] I was looking at the antagonist episode, looking at the timestamps and I saw S A X and I was

[00:07:53] like, why, when are we talking about sex?

[00:07:56] Saks.

[00:07:57] Yeah.

[00:07:58] Saks.

[00:07:58] Saks.

[00:07:59] Those goddamn saxophones.

[00:08:00] Yeah.

[00:08:01] I think I, I think I talked about, um, lady Rhea from fire and little three houses and

[00:08:06] how much of a bad-ass she was.

[00:08:08] And there was like five star Wars characters and I was just, I was lost.

[00:08:11] I was like, that's not Darth Maul.

[00:08:13] You're just gone.

[00:08:15] Darth Maul.

[00:08:17] Yeah, man.

[00:08:18] That was a good one.

[00:08:19] Glad you guys are all here today.

[00:08:21] Uh, we're going to talk about the best sequels or our favorite sequels or however the hell

[00:08:25] we're going to word this.

[00:08:27] What?

[00:08:27] I don't know.

[00:08:28] I don't know who should go first.

[00:08:29] Honestly.

[00:08:30] I, uh, should we flip coin or should we just, should we just like, it's always sunny this

[00:08:36] fucker and just like, see who'd yell the loudest.

[00:08:39] Play the penis game.

[00:08:40] Yeah.

[00:08:41] Let's measure dicks.

[00:08:42] Uh, biggest first, then smallest, then second biggest.

[00:08:46] Then, you know, it's still just, we gotta shake it up.

[00:08:49] That's, it's gotta, that's really like, like, like mid, uh, no, like, like chub, not full

[00:08:55] chub, not like little chub, but like, like just right in the middle too.

[00:08:59] Yeah.

[00:09:00] Just go and take a lukewarm shower for a couple of seconds.

[00:09:03] I slowed down for a second because my kid came in to ask me a question and I just like

[00:09:08] paid back attention and I have no idea how he got here at all.

[00:09:12] And this podcast requires a hundred percent attention.

[00:09:16] Oh wait.

[00:09:16] Yeah.

[00:09:17] Speaking of attention.

[00:09:18] I totally fucking forgot.

[00:09:19] Yeah.

[00:09:19] So, so listeners.

[00:09:20] Yeah.

[00:09:21] Uh, super pod saga.

[00:09:22] Uh, check out super pod network.com.

[00:09:24] Naves there.

[00:09:25] Nick's there.

[00:09:26] Thrax there.

[00:09:27] Troy, Troy is not unfortunately, but he could be maybe who knows, but super, super pod network.com.

[00:09:33] All sorts of cool shit there.

[00:09:35] Support me hamburger.

[00:09:37] Help me on Patreon for two or $4 a month.

[00:10:13] Let's fucking start the show.

[00:10:15] Troy.

[00:10:15] You can, you can, you can do the first one.

[00:10:17] I'm, I'm delighted to go first, Aaron, because I'm going to steal one that I know you're

[00:10:20] going to talk about because I saw it on your hand.

[00:10:22] You have it literally on your body and I'm going to say Majora's mask, uh, because it

[00:10:27] is one of the, the few Zelda games that is a true sequel.

[00:10:31] Uh, hold on a second.

[00:10:32] Are you saying that Aaron writes all of his lists out on his hand?

[00:10:35] No, he has a tattoo of Majora's mask on the back of his hand.

[00:10:38] I also have a worm cowboy on my finger.

[00:10:40] Dude, that worm cowboy is so cute.

[00:10:42] What came he from?

[00:10:43] I'm going to steal worm two from him.

[00:10:46] There's a, there's a tattoo shop in town and they do, uh, they do flash tattoos for 20

[00:10:50] bucks.

[00:10:50] And I was like, give me a fucking cowboy worm.

[00:10:52] I still have no tattoos.

[00:10:54] One of these days.

[00:10:55] Oh my God.

[00:10:55] Hold on.

[00:10:56] Wait now.

[00:10:56] Have you seen the boogie two nine eight shit?

[00:10:58] I can't stop.

[00:10:59] Yeah.

[00:11:00] I saw that.

[00:11:00] He tattooed liar on his face.

[00:11:03] He tattooed what?

[00:11:04] He tattooed liar on his face live on the show.

[00:11:07] So because he lied about having cancer.

[00:11:10] Whoa.

[00:11:11] And he has, he has his own.

[00:11:12] He's the worst.

[00:11:13] Like I have no idea who you're talking about, but, uh, I just, uh, this is a terrible

[00:11:18] person.

[00:11:19] We're not going down.

[00:11:20] Yeah.

[00:11:20] He's just a terrible person.

[00:11:21] It's, uh, yeah.

[00:11:23] Okay.

[00:11:24] Uh, Majora's mask is not a terrible game.

[00:11:26] It's a great game.

[00:11:28] It's fine.

[00:11:29] It's fine.

[00:11:30] It's, it's, it is probably my favorite Zelda game.

[00:11:34] Like not the best necessarily, but my personal favorite.

[00:11:37] Um, although that changes on a regular basis.

[00:11:40] Um, but yeah, I think it's a very cool game.

[00:11:43] I think the way that it builds on Ocarina of time is really cool in that it like is

[00:11:47] very clearly a direct story sequel, but also then just does something entirely different

[00:11:52] with its world and the characters and stuff.

[00:11:54] And the fact that it was made in like 10 months or something like that is block wild

[00:12:00] to me.

[00:12:01] Uh, but yeah, I think that like video game sequels can be weird because oftentimes a number going

[00:12:07] up doesn't mean it's really that much of a sequel of a thing.

[00:12:11] Uh, and I think it's cool that, that Zelda has very few sequels, but this one in particular,

[00:12:16] I think really stands out.

[00:12:17] Does the job well.

[00:12:19] It really does, man.

[00:12:20] Like when you look at Ocarina of time and Majora's mass, you can definitely easily tell

[00:12:24] which one is, which it's not like, uh, I always get linked to the past and like link between

[00:12:30] worlds kind of mixed up.

[00:12:31] Like mostly names.

[00:12:33] Like I guess if I saw the gameplay, I'd be able to tell for sure which one is which one's

[00:12:36] a super Nintendo game.

[00:12:38] One's a 3ds game.

[00:12:39] They're very different.

[00:12:42] No, that's a solid pick man.

[00:12:43] Majora's mask is awesome.

[00:12:44] I think I like that one just a little bit more than Ocarina of time, mostly because of just

[00:12:48] how creepy and fucking weird it is.

[00:12:50] It's an unsettling world.

[00:12:52] Like it is.

[00:12:54] Yeah.

[00:12:55] Creepy.

[00:12:55] I really respect.

[00:12:56] I respect a sequel that the devs just kind of look at all the assets they spent a long

[00:13:01] time making and go, can we, what can we do with that?

[00:13:04] Yeah.

[00:13:04] Can we do something else?

[00:13:05] Can we make a different thing?

[00:13:07] Use them all again, but they mixed it up.

[00:13:09] Like they use, they reused everything, but nothing got used in the same way, which is

[00:13:13] a very cool idea.

[00:13:15] Like all the characters are different instead of just being like, well, it's another adventure

[00:13:19] in Hyrule, which sounds like I'm complaining about tears of the kingdom.

[00:13:24] That was not my intention, but I like that Majora's mask feels different.

[00:13:27] My favorite asset they reused was like, if you, if you phase the camera inside of a

[00:13:31] Goron and like, look at the ass cheeks, that's the actual texture of the moon.

[00:13:36] So like, and the inside, that's a cool little Easter egg.

[00:13:38] Everybody go check that out.

[00:13:40] That's such a naive fact.

[00:13:41] Check out that Goron ass.

[00:13:43] It's actually the moon.

[00:13:45] It's no wind waker.

[00:13:48] Ass, man.

[00:13:52] Safe search off.

[00:13:55] Deviant art on.

[00:13:59] I bet there's some pretty wicked Majora's mask moon rule 34.

[00:14:04] Like he's just.

[00:14:05] Well, now I'm going to search off.

[00:14:07] Hold on.

[00:14:09] Well, Nate, for bringing up that sweet, sweet fact, you can go next.

[00:14:14] Oh, I just want to, I want to look at the moon naked.

[00:14:17] All right.

[00:14:17] I'm going to talk about doom eternal.

[00:14:19] Hell yeah.

[00:14:20] I just beat this the other day.

[00:14:21] Actually.

[00:14:22] I'm about to, I think I got to beat it again, just cause I want it on my 20, 24 tier

[00:14:26] list.

[00:14:27] Do you do all the DLC as well?

[00:14:29] No, I'm, I got like halfway through the last one.

[00:14:31] Oh, and then I was like, I just, I don't know what happened.

[00:14:34] Like I think ballers gate.

[00:14:36] And I don't know what's came out.

[00:14:37] Like I did the whole thing.

[00:14:39] Like the DLC and all that in one go.

[00:14:42] Fucking amazing.

[00:14:43] I've got to play ballers gate.

[00:14:45] Nave.

[00:14:45] I played a little bit of, I keep replaying.

[00:14:49] I get like, I get like five hours in and I'm like, I want to be a wizard now.

[00:14:52] And then I'm in a constant cycle of that.

[00:14:56] I have no commitment.

[00:14:57] That's valid.

[00:14:58] But I do commit myself to doom eternal.

[00:15:00] My one true love, my only, uh, my only partner.

[00:15:04] Internally.

[00:15:05] What I find interesting about that is apparently there's a lot of people who say doom 2016

[00:15:09] is better.

[00:15:11] And I just, I, for me, I can't agree.

[00:15:14] Like doom 2016 is very good, but doom eternal is just fucking awesome because I think it like

[00:15:20] fixes all the little issues that doom 2016 had like eternal is what I wanted doom 2016

[00:15:26] to be.

[00:15:27] The people that say that are infants.

[00:15:29] And let me tell you why I have one exact, because these are the people that started crawling

[00:15:32] and went and started walking afterwards.

[00:15:35] Like, ah, crawling's better.

[00:15:36] And then they just started crawling around everywhere with their bibs and their fucking

[00:15:39] doo-doo diapers.

[00:15:40] Have you seen the views?

[00:15:40] There's people, there's a guy who's doing a running on all fours thing on TikTok.

[00:15:45] It popped up.

[00:15:46] It's like day 93 of running off, running on all fours every day.

[00:15:50] And he's just trucking along on all fours.

[00:15:53] It's so unsettling.

[00:15:54] It's horrifying.

[00:15:56] It's horrifying.

[00:15:56] Quadrupeds.

[00:15:57] It really is horrifying.

[00:15:59] Listener, go look up people running full sprint on all fours.

[00:16:02] Like, because your knees don't work.

[00:16:05] Right.

[00:16:05] It looks bad.

[00:16:07] It looks very bad.

[00:16:09] Uh, Nick, you can have the next one.

[00:16:11] Okay.

[00:16:12] Yeah.

[00:16:13] I was, I didn't know how, like, how long are we doing for these?

[00:16:16] Are we early going D super deep into it?

[00:16:18] Or are we just doing like a round robin type thing?

[00:16:21] Uh, I mean, you go as deep as you can before someone interrupts you with a completely unrelated

[00:16:28] tangent.

[00:16:28] This is a five person.

[00:16:31] Yeah.

[00:16:31] Troy understands the show.

[00:16:32] Yeah.

[00:16:33] That's that's 100%.

[00:16:33] He's, he's right on the money there.

[00:16:35] You know, you guys have been making some great picks.

[00:16:38] Uh, I think I might stay a little bit more modern on the same wavelength where Nave is

[00:16:45] right now.

[00:16:45] He said, doom eternal.

[00:16:47] Um, I'm going to go in the direction of, uh, star Wars, Jedi survivor, um, the sequel

[00:16:53] star Wars series.

[00:16:55] It is by far and away like last year, 2023 unprecedented year of banger after banger.

[00:17:01] We were spoiled for, uh, it was spoiled with riches in terms of the video game, you know,

[00:17:07] marketplace and everything was that was releasing that year, whether it was tears of the kingdom

[00:17:11] or Baldur's gate three, whatever your, your choice was final fantasy 16.

[00:17:15] Um, Jedi survivor was one of those that came out the last year.

[00:17:19] And I feel like that because it was surrounded by so many good games, we're talking games

[00:17:24] that are, you know, eight out of, you know, nine out of 10, whatever you want to rate it

[00:17:28] scale.

[00:17:29] Um, it just was, it hit that quality.

[00:17:32] I think it definitely didn't do itself any favors at launch by having as many books.

[00:17:37] The bugs that it was working through.

[00:17:38] Most of it was just kind of like visual.

[00:17:41] There were no real game breaking bugs on my end, but I think it's just like a lot of quality

[00:17:45] of life, looking at the screen, seeing the, the actual respawn logo hitch when you're

[00:17:50] loading it up sort of thing where it was like just small little nitpicks that I think people

[00:17:54] really dug into that game for, I mean, there, there's even like worse bugs when you're in

[00:17:59] game.

[00:17:59] Like for example, I'm inside the ship and my cape is like billowing while I'm in the middle

[00:18:03] of space.

[00:18:04] Like what are we doing here?

[00:18:05] Yeah.

[00:18:05] Um, yeah, is it there, there are some, some graphic engines.

[00:18:09] I think that they built that on unreal four, but God damn, when it comes to the story and

[00:18:15] like the journey that Cal goes through, um, this is like stuff, me being a star Wars nerd

[00:18:20] that doesn't really get addressed that much in the canon.

[00:18:24] And it's like almost, and it's also a special treat when I get to play, whether it is fallen

[00:18:28] order or Jedi survivor, they're the most put together narratives that we've gotten in the

[00:18:32] post Disney era of star Wars.

[00:18:34] Like they're the thing in my opinion, like they'll only, I think like star Wars properties

[00:18:40] that have come out on Disney or Disney plus are like the animated features.

[00:18:45] I can't remember what the name of this is like star Wars, eternal or something like that.

[00:18:49] They literally had, yeah, star Wars visions.

[00:18:51] Exactly.

[00:18:52] Sure.

[00:18:52] Yeah.

[00:18:52] And they had like a series of, uh, anime shorts or vignettes that were composed by like insanely

[00:18:58] good, like the same people who did, uh, cyberpunk edge runners, you know, it's like they, they

[00:19:03] really put their money where their mouth is with side projects like that.

[00:19:07] And it seems like Jedi survivor file fell right under there, but yeah, I don't know.

[00:19:11] It just touched a really special place in my heart in terms of like kind of seeing him

[00:19:16] brought to life.

[00:19:17] And it was almost like, Oh, even if we don't see a Cal Kestis or Cameron Monahan on the big

[00:19:22] screen or whatever, if he comes into any future, they, I mean, they have to, I want them to,

[00:19:27] but like, if he doesn't need to, I'm okay with that.

[00:19:30] I'm okay with him staying in the video game universe because I feel like as a narrative,

[00:19:34] it stands up on its own two feet.

[00:19:36] All right, fine.

[00:19:37] I'll play it.

[00:19:38] I started, I started, I started it and I was the, the, the main planet that I guess you

[00:19:45] go back to over and over again.

[00:19:46] I was just like, not enjoying being on that planet.

[00:19:48] And I should have given it.

[00:19:50] If I gave her probably 20 more minutes, I probably would have gone off and done something cool

[00:19:53] and would have been, this isn't earth.

[00:19:57] It's just, there's not like exciting action on that planet.

[00:20:00] It's just like, it's very big.

[00:20:03] Yeah.

[00:20:04] And it's unfolding a lot of like plot very, very slowly at the start.

[00:20:08] Like part of the problem.

[00:20:10] Go ahead.

[00:20:10] Sorry.

[00:20:11] Like I've played fallen order and survivor.

[00:20:13] Both of them are great, but my, I think my biggest issue was survivor was I felt like

[00:20:17] it was too big that it was like trying too hard to just sort of make like these giant

[00:20:22] worlds and like, yeah, like the story pacing is I think rather on the slow side, but I think

[00:20:28] the story is really good and it's still essentially the fallen order formula, but just done on

[00:20:35] a bigger scale, which to me kind of made it a little bit less enjoyable.

[00:20:40] Like I think, I don't think I dub, like, I don't think I doubled my play time, but it

[00:20:44] was like considerably longer than fallen order.

[00:20:46] And what I loved is fallen order.

[00:20:48] I think I was like maybe 20 hours and I was done.

[00:20:50] Whereas fallen order, it was well over 30, which is fine, but it's just like, you know,

[00:20:55] not every game needs to be bigger and better.

[00:20:58] You know what I mean?

[00:20:59] I completely agree with you.

[00:21:00] So it'll be curious to see what the third one does, you know, and I'm very much looking

[00:21:04] forward to it.

[00:21:05] And I mean, Stig Armisen, he was the, the lead, you know, director for the first, you

[00:21:09] know, fallen order and Jedi survivor.

[00:21:10] And he's gone now.

[00:21:11] And I think that somebody underneath him, it was like the game designer under him was

[00:21:15] elevated to like the director position for whatever the third installment is going

[00:21:18] to be whenever they get to it.

[00:21:20] And they're going to, I think, stop at the third one, which is the right.

[00:21:22] Which they should, they should, they don't need to extend this out.

[00:21:25] It doesn't really have the use for that.

[00:21:27] But question, slightly different question, but I'll ask you it's Star Wars related.

[00:21:31] Star Wars outlaws, right?

[00:21:33] Yeah.

[00:21:33] Do you think they're going to sneak some Jedi shit in there or is it just completely gone?

[00:21:38] I think they would be smart if they wouldn't.

[00:21:40] I agree.

[00:21:41] I don't think it needs it.

[00:21:43] Yeah, it doesn't, it doesn't need it as long as they actually wrote a good story

[00:21:47] and Ubisoft does not have a good track record.

[00:21:50] Modern Ubisoft absolutely does not have a good track record of like telling compelling stories

[00:21:55] like, and so if they feel like towards the latter third of the game, all we need to spice

[00:21:59] it up and throw a Jedi in there.

[00:22:01] Maybe you're confronted with a Sith at some point.

[00:22:03] I don't know.

[00:22:04] I mean, that'd be cool when you're in that powerless situation.

[00:22:06] It kind of would be like playing ODST after playing Halo reach type situation.

[00:22:12] If you're a little bit, you could spice it up in a certain way, but I think that would

[00:22:16] be okay.

[00:22:16] I just don't want them to give the character a lightsaber.

[00:22:19] Yeah.

[00:22:20] Like it's like two thirds of the way through.

[00:22:22] It's like, you're a secret Jedi.

[00:22:23] Yeah.

[00:22:24] We have these Jedi games.

[00:22:26] Like we can do our Jedi power fantasy here.

[00:22:28] Like people like I get the sense when it comes to Star Wars.

[00:22:32] A lot of people just are getting tired of the Jedi shit and just want more like Star Wars

[00:22:37] and or, you know, where it's like just more normal people in the Star Wars world kind

[00:22:41] of thing, you know?

[00:22:42] And I think outlaws could be that in video game form, which I think would be a refreshing change

[00:22:47] of pace.

[00:22:49] I mean, people seem to be enjoying it and that it doesn't seem like it's just another

[00:22:53] Ubisoft game with a Star Wars skin on it.

[00:22:55] It like from what the previews I've seen set suggests that they're actually trying something

[00:23:01] a little bit different with it.

[00:23:02] Yeah.

[00:23:03] I can agree more.

[00:23:03] Hopefully, hopefully it hits well because if it does, I will play it.

[00:23:07] Yeah.

[00:23:07] Give my boy Jar Jar Binks a game.

[00:23:09] Dude.

[00:23:10] Why not?

[00:23:10] Why not?

[00:23:11] Darth Jar Jar.

[00:23:13] Darth Jar Jar.

[00:23:14] Darth Jar Jar.

[00:23:16] I mean, this is the final thing I will say about Survivor for any of our dear listeners,

[00:23:22] but Thrak is 100% right.

[00:23:24] Jedi Survivor does suffer from like a lot of narrative pacing issues and it also suffers

[00:23:29] under the weight of its own like a game from formula of trying to be in my opinion a Metroidvania.

[00:23:35] Right.

[00:23:36] I feel like because of the Metroidvania systems, the game artificially blocks the character

[00:23:40] or the player from accessing certain areas.

[00:23:43] And so in my like, you know, you know, gamer brain, goon rot mindset, I'm like, I want

[00:23:48] a hundred percent every area that I encounter, but I can't do that because I, you don't have

[00:23:53] that Metroidvania power up in order.

[00:23:55] You don't get the BD upgrade in order to allow you to traverse.

[00:23:59] And so that really messes my mind up and something that I had to kind of switch like

[00:24:03] my gears halfway through is that just go along the main story path.

[00:24:08] Don't do any of the side shit and just save the side stuff for clean up after the end.

[00:24:13] If you want to go get a platinum or something like that.

[00:24:14] I think that's the mistake I made.

[00:24:16] Yeah.

[00:24:16] And I think like, if you do that, you can pull, you can pull a knave and finish this game in

[00:24:21] like 10 hours or at least the campaign.

[00:24:23] Oh yeah.

[00:24:24] You can just sweat it out.

[00:24:25] It's fine.

[00:24:26] See, see, that's some sort of thing I prefer about fallen order is that that one's also

[00:24:30] a bit of a Metroidvania, but it's on a smaller scale.

[00:24:33] And I think the best Metroidvanias aren't like these giant massive games.

[00:24:38] Like all the Metroid games aren't super long.

[00:24:40] Yeah.

[00:24:41] Like having that sort of formula done on a, like say a fallen order type of scale worked

[00:24:46] a lot better, I think for Survivor, but I still, I still really enjoyed Survivor.

[00:24:51] So.

[00:24:51] Yeah.

[00:24:52] Yeah.

[00:24:53] Nice.

[00:24:54] I'm going to continue the, uh, the modern games trend.

[00:24:58] I'm going to go with a game that's, I kind of fell off of a little bit last year, but now

[00:25:04] it's, it's hooked.

[00:25:05] It's fucking big meaty claws back into my, back into my bum.

[00:25:10] Diablo four, everybody.

[00:25:12] Big hand for Diablo four.

[00:25:13] Holy shit.

[00:25:14] I've played a bit of Diablo four.

[00:25:16] It's so much better now, dude.

[00:25:18] Four seasons deep.

[00:25:19] They've, they've added so many cool quality of life changes.

[00:25:22] Like for one gems are no longer part of your fucking inventory anymore.

[00:25:27] They have this whole separate fucking.

[00:25:28] Oh my God.

[00:25:29] Area for awesome.

[00:25:30] Yeah.

[00:25:31] It's, it's fucking then.

[00:25:32] Oh, what else is there?

[00:25:33] Are there new classes?

[00:25:36] Not yet.

[00:25:36] It's coming.

[00:25:37] They have one coming.

[00:25:38] It's like a, like a jungle guy.

[00:25:40] Um, probably they have one going.

[00:25:43] How's it coming?

[00:25:44] Good joke.

[00:25:45] Oh, okay.

[00:25:46] Yeah.

[00:25:46] I got it.

[00:25:48] My wheels were, my brain's wheels were spinning in place there for a minute.

[00:25:51] Like, huh?

[00:25:52] What the fuck else was I going to say?

[00:25:54] Oh yeah.

[00:25:56] So they, they've completely balanced out all the classes as well too.

[00:26:00] Like if for a little while there, they kind of shat the bed multiple times.

[00:26:04] They would be like, Oh, wizard or sorcerers.

[00:26:06] Wizard.

[00:26:07] Wizard is too powerful.

[00:26:09] So fucking throw in the trash.

[00:26:11] And then they beefed up the other classes.

[00:26:13] And then the wizard was like, they did the, the big nerf.

[00:26:17] Like it was a couple months after the game came out.

[00:26:20] Yeah.

[00:26:20] They did something and it was so bad that a bunch of blizzard guys had to come on camera

[00:26:23] and say, Hey, we're sorry.

[00:26:25] We, we fucked up.

[00:26:26] We'll fix it.

[00:26:26] We swear.

[00:26:28] Yeah.

[00:26:28] When that, when that happened, that was, that was pretty much around then.

[00:26:31] Like the, the wizard was just, or sorcerer.

[00:26:34] I forget what the fuck it's called.

[00:26:35] Um, whatever it was, it was just too powerful, I guess.

[00:26:38] Just blasting.

[00:26:39] It's like, if you built your character just right, you could blast through the highest

[00:26:42] level dungeons and like no time.

[00:26:44] And rather than like mess, like tweaking the dungeons or the difficulty of the monsters

[00:26:50] or anything like that, they were like, Nope, kill the class.

[00:26:53] Like just, just annihilate it, make it worthless.

[00:26:54] Uh, and then all the other characters got buffs.

[00:26:58] And then after a while, um, yeah, it's all balanced out.

[00:27:01] Now there's just so many new, um, items and aspects you can give.

[00:27:06] I, aspects are just like cool passive abilities that you can apply to, to your, to your armor

[00:27:12] and weapons to give them cool special abilities to, to really tweak your, your build even further.

[00:27:16] Uh, I guess for any, for any listeners or any of you guys who haven't played Diablo four or even three, basically like four is like more customization than the series has ever had before.

[00:27:30] And it's, it's awesome.

[00:27:31] Like one and two, you just had your, your base ass classes and you had these just enormous fucking like intertwining skill trees that you could just build and build and build.

[00:27:43] And then three, they were like, Nope, cut that down.

[00:27:47] And instead you had like each character had, I guess like seven or eight different abilities and you could pick different modifiers for those abilities.

[00:27:55] And like, that was it.

[00:27:57] But then four, there's just so many different ways that you could build a character.

[00:28:01] Like you could build a fire sorcerer or an ice sorcerer, or you could build like a bone spear necromancer, but there's also just different smaller layers to each build as to like how,

[00:28:14] like, like, like an engine to each build in a way like different.

[00:28:19] What's the word?

[00:28:20] You can synergize bonuses that you can apply.

[00:28:23] Exactly.

[00:28:23] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:28:24] Is it like, it still lets you like respect at any time too.

[00:28:27] Right.

[00:28:28] That's another big change.

[00:28:29] That's another huge change.

[00:28:30] Yeah. You can respect at any time.

[00:28:32] And it's not like you just reset your entire like skill tree.

[00:28:36] You can just take points out of certain abilities and then plop them into other ones.

[00:28:41] That's sick.

[00:28:42] That launch, that sucked.

[00:28:44] But yeah, man, it's just, it's super rad.

[00:28:46] There's just, there's even more shit that you can do.

[00:28:50] You can also like back when the game first came out, whenever you started a new character, you had to blast your way through the story to get to the cool end game shit and to get your horse so you could fucking go anywhere at a decent pace.

[00:29:03] But now you can skip the campaign.

[00:29:06] Skip the campaign.

[00:29:07] You can just skip it.

[00:29:08] Yeah, dude.

[00:29:09] That's crazy.

[00:29:10] I mean, I guess like for, for the people who are like diehards trying to like, I don't know, min max their characters or build like an ultimate loadout or whatever.

[00:29:17] They don't care about the narrative.

[00:29:18] I personally love the story of Diablo four, like the main campaign.

[00:29:24] It took like, it's like 25 hours or something like that.

[00:29:26] But yeah, I can't remember the name of the actor who plays like the Templar that's trying to lead your character down the path of like trying to hunt down Lilith and everything.

[00:29:37] But it's like Ralph Innocent.

[00:29:38] He was also Sid in Final Fantasy 16.

[00:29:41] He had a, he had a crazy year last year, but yeah, no, he was, he was Robin Williams.

[00:29:46] Yeah, that's the one.

[00:29:48] Oh, yeah.

[00:29:49] We're going to hunt down Lilith.

[00:29:49] Oh, he came back from the dead and played the second protagonist of Final Fantasy.

[00:29:56] Well, have you seen Sid in Final Fantasy 8?

[00:29:59] No.

[00:29:59] Look at it.

[00:30:00] Hold on.

[00:30:01] Sid's grace.

[00:30:02] Sid in Final Fantasy.

[00:30:05] Sid, FF8.

[00:30:06] Is this the one where he's a frog?

[00:30:07] Oh my God.

[00:30:08] Look at him.

[00:30:09] Holy shit.

[00:30:10] He looks so cool.

[00:30:12] Yeah, that is Robin Williams.

[00:30:13] I don't know.

[00:30:14] It's like Robin Williams.

[00:30:15] I just heard Sid and I was, I just blurted that out.

[00:30:18] I don't know.

[00:30:21] Well, yeah.

[00:30:21] Yeah.

[00:30:22] If, if for any listeners, if you liked Diablo four, but you were turned off for whatever

[00:30:29] reason I implore you.

[00:30:31] It's also on game pass.

[00:30:32] Give it another try.

[00:30:33] Give it another try.

[00:30:34] It's not Game Pass.

[00:30:34] I didn't realize that.

[00:30:35] Yeah.

[00:30:36] Of course it is.

[00:30:36] They bought the thing.

[00:30:38] Oh, yeah.

[00:30:38] Yeah.

[00:30:38] It was, I think it was like the first Activision game brought to Game Pass.

[00:30:42] I think.

[00:30:43] All right.

[00:30:44] Yeah.

[00:30:44] They haven't done that much.

[00:30:45] They, they've done Diablo four.

[00:30:47] I think just today they did a modern warfare three.

[00:30:50] Yeah.

[00:30:51] And the rumor is in a couple of weeks, they're dropping the crash trilogy on there.

[00:30:57] That's the rumor.

[00:30:57] Which will just.

[00:30:58] Yeah.

[00:30:59] The month of August, the crash and trilogy coming to game, which honestly just gives me

[00:31:04] an excuse to play those games again.

[00:31:05] So didn't they, didn't they say that they were also going to drop like all of the mainline

[00:31:10] Call of Duty games?

[00:31:12] I will eventually.

[00:31:13] I think.

[00:31:13] Modern warfare three dropped today.

[00:31:14] I think.

[00:31:15] Yeah.

[00:31:15] That's like the current one.

[00:31:17] Yeah.

[00:31:18] I think the plan is that they saw when they bought Bethesda and dropped everything in the

[00:31:23] game pass all at once.

[00:31:24] Like that was cool.

[00:31:26] Like that was cool.

[00:31:26] But after a while people were just like, yeah, it's all there.

[00:31:28] Yeah.

[00:31:28] So with Activision, they're like, we have a lot more titles.

[00:31:31] So instead of just doing them all at once, let's trickle them out to.

[00:31:35] I want my fucking Spyro.

[00:31:37] I want my fucking Spyro.

[00:31:37] God damn it.

[00:31:37] I want Spyro to man.

[00:31:39] I need my dragon.

[00:31:40] I want a reason to a hundred percent them all again.

[00:31:42] You know, God damn.

[00:31:44] But I will say with Diablo, I have the only Diablo I've played is Diablo four.

[00:31:49] I put a couple of hours into it with Chris from a novel console when he still did stuff

[00:31:54] and and we had a good time with it, but we only put like a couple hours into it.

[00:31:59] I did enjoy it, but we can go off it.

[00:32:02] We can go off it.

[00:32:03] Thrak, let me.

[00:32:04] I'm like, I'm like maybe a level five.

[00:32:06] Let me.

[00:32:07] Let me spice it all up for you.

[00:32:08] I started a new necromancer like fucking yesterday or the day before, and I'm already level

[00:32:14] like 30.

[00:32:15] It's it's quick, dude.

[00:32:17] I have an I have no idea what my level is, but you know, we'll do it.

[00:32:22] I didn't want to ask time.

[00:32:23] We'll do it.

[00:32:24] Fuck.

[00:32:24] Yeah, let's do it.

[00:32:25] Yes, I did want to ask it in terms of I think if the season four new content update

[00:32:31] it's called the the narrative stuff is called season of the witch.

[00:32:34] Is that right?

[00:32:35] Am I?

[00:32:36] What is it called?

[00:32:37] I don't.

[00:32:38] Oh, what is it?

[00:32:40] What do you think a witch uses it as seasoning in her inner pot?

[00:32:44] Lowry's.

[00:32:45] Toad skin.

[00:32:46] Lowry's.

[00:32:49] Italian seasoning.

[00:32:50] Yeah.

[00:32:51] Lemon pepper.

[00:32:52] Maybe a little time.

[00:32:54] Don't fuck with the lemon pepper.

[00:32:55] No, she's really.

[00:32:56] She's really in the Old Bay seasoning.

[00:32:59] Oh, or like Creole seasoning.

[00:33:01] I'm.

[00:33:03] Is it?

[00:33:04] I love it.

[00:33:05] I'm getting I'm getting mixed signals here.

[00:33:08] Is it season of loot?

[00:33:11] What?

[00:33:11] No, surely not.

[00:33:13] I saw it was like it was at the last Xbox showcase and they had like the title on it,

[00:33:18] but it was like the story is about the girl who is taking you into the tomb to go try and find her mom in the very in like the actual campaign.

[00:33:27] And this one is actually following up with like what happens to her after all of that.

[00:33:31] Like they crucified.

[00:33:32] Oh, the new one is vessel of hatred.

[00:33:36] Vessel of hatred.

[00:33:37] There we go.

[00:33:38] So.

[00:33:39] Yeah.

[00:33:39] Have you played any of the any of that like content yet?

[00:33:42] Not yet.

[00:33:42] I've just been doing hell tides and grinding my level like a motherfucker.

[00:33:46] Like it's it's nuts, man.

[00:33:48] I with a title like vessel of hatred.

[00:33:51] I don't blame any of us for forgetting what the fuck.

[00:33:54] It was.

[00:33:54] I'll be honest with you.

[00:33:55] It was like a hate breed song.

[00:33:57] Honestly, it's like I just a random generator.

[00:34:00] Five finger punch.

[00:34:02] Oh God.

[00:34:03] All right, Troy.

[00:34:04] What you got for us next?

[00:34:07] Uh, I didn't realize I was up next.

[00:34:09] Uh, Tori.

[00:34:11] Well, yeah, threat didn't go.

[00:34:12] That's why I thought I wasn't up next.

[00:34:13] Oh, wait, you didn't.

[00:34:16] I haven't made a sequel yet.

[00:34:18] Well, I was like three modern games in a row.

[00:34:20] Thrak's going to break it up.

[00:34:21] And I was like, wait, I guess.

[00:34:22] Yeah, my bad.

[00:34:23] I mean, I'll do a retro game if you want me to.

[00:34:25] No, no, no, no.

[00:34:26] Do do what you want to do.

[00:34:28] Well, I did not prep for this.

[00:34:33] So I'm going to pick just sequels off the top of my head.

[00:34:35] But I think this is an easy one for me.

[00:34:37] Shining.

[00:34:37] Sonic 2.

[00:34:38] Shining Force 2.

[00:34:39] I still haven't played a Shining Force.

[00:34:41] Okay.

[00:34:41] So, so, so.

[00:34:43] What are they on?

[00:34:45] Sega Genesis.

[00:34:46] And on the Nintendo Switch online app.

[00:34:49] Have you played Shining Force, Nate?

[00:34:51] Uh, maybe.

[00:34:54] Fire Emblem in space?

[00:34:56] Yeah.

[00:34:57] It's on space.

[00:34:57] Fire Emblem in.

[00:34:59] Oh, it's like Fire Emblem?

[00:35:00] Okay, never mind.

[00:35:01] Imagine Fire Emblem with no permadeath and more interesting classes.

[00:35:05] Like way cartoonier.

[00:35:07] Under, so, Unicorn Overlord.

[00:35:09] Is this still fantasy themed?

[00:35:11] But it's on Sega Genesis.

[00:35:12] Well, the first Shining Force is fantasy themed but slowly adds sci-fi elements.

[00:35:18] Okay.

[00:35:18] Like you get, when you get the big chaos breaker, it's just a fucking lightsaber.

[00:35:22] Which is pretty cool.

[00:35:23] Um, there's like a robot named Adam who becomes like Max's best friend.

[00:35:26] It's a whole thing.

[00:35:27] Anyway.

[00:35:28] So, Shining Force 2 came out in the year 1994 on the Sega Genesis.

[00:35:33] And is, see, Shining Force 1 I hold very closely to my heart but that's another topic.

[00:35:39] So, Shining Force 2 is just a really, really well done sequel that isn't directly connected to Shining Force 1 but there is connections through the Gaiden series of games and like Shining Force CD and all that.

[00:35:52] So, you're Bowie and uh, who's a kid and uh, him and his buddies are going to class where they're being taught by Gandalf.

[00:36:01] And then um, basically shit happens like um, like a, like a, was it like a, like an evil spirit possesses this, like a king of a neighboring kingdom who's gonna like destroy the world or whatever.

[00:36:12] And so these kids have to form the Shining Force to take them out.

[00:36:16] Um, but what, what I like about it is how it um, greatly expands on the story because Shining Force 1 has a very kind of simple story.

[00:36:25] Right?

[00:36:25] And this one is, is simple but there's a lot more moments for like character interaction.

[00:36:31] Like say there's a moment where they're having to say build a boat to escape and then they're like chatting and then they have to, when they land and have to rebuild their town, they break out, they break down the boat.

[00:36:42] So it leads for some like comedic moments there.

[00:36:44] Um, there's kind of random encounters this time because in Shining Force 1, if you want to grind, how you do it is you use Max's egress ability to leave battle before you win it.

[00:36:55] So you can just redo the whole thing and keep all the experience.

[00:36:58] You can still do that here, but there's, but there are some like random encounters which can kind of negate that a little bit.

[00:37:04] Um, the gameplay is much faster.

[00:37:06] The menus are much more lightning quick because there's a lot of menus.

[00:37:10] It's an RPG.

[00:37:11] Um, it fixes the item management issues because Shining Force 1, whenever you would find a bunch of items, like Max would just have them and then you'd have to distribute them between everybody before you can hold more stuff.

[00:37:23] And two, if say Bowie's full of stuff, it'll just go to the next person.

[00:37:28] Is this a situation where you need to play the first game or like if I was going to play, just start with two?

[00:37:33] No.

[00:37:34] Cause the quality life stuff.

[00:37:35] I mean, I think both of them are still well worth your time.

[00:37:38] Like I hold Shining Force 1 very close to my heart, but Shining Force 2 is a fantastic sequel that does fix a lot of the little things that's wrong with Shining Force 1.

[00:37:47] And it stands on its own as a spectacular strategy RPG.

[00:37:50] And it made the AI even better too.

[00:37:53] Yeah.

[00:37:53] Like AI in Shining Force 1 was stupid.

[00:37:56] Mm-hmm.

[00:37:57] Though, in Shining Force 2 you will deal with a character named Peter, who he's like a bird.

[00:38:03] It's a whole thing.

[00:38:04] And for a good chunk of the game, he's AI controlled.

[00:38:08] He never officially joins your party.

[00:38:10] And he is a bitch because he is so powerful.

[00:38:13] And since he's a flying character, he has a lot more movement speed.

[00:38:16] So he'll just come in and just steal kills and take XP like crazy, which is really fucking annoying.

[00:38:23] But eventually you gain control of him.

[00:38:25] But yeah, a fantastic game.

[00:38:27] And if you beat the game, you can unlock a special battle with all of the bosses on a floating Sonic head.

[00:38:35] That's cool.

[00:38:36] That rules.

[00:38:36] It does.

[00:38:37] And it's a hard as fuck battle because it's all the bosses in the entire game as one party.

[00:38:44] I'm really impressed by how far you got into your description of that game before you actually needed to pause Power Wash Simulator.

[00:38:51] I really wondered if you were going to just keep playing it all the way through.

[00:38:55] Listeners, you don't see it.

[00:38:56] He was doing a great job of like really informative explanations about the game while also power washing stuff.

[00:39:03] It was quite impressive.

[00:39:04] All off the top of my head, I didn't write anything down.

[00:39:07] But yeah, Shining Force 2 is phenomenal.

[00:39:11] It is, dude.

[00:39:12] That's so good.

[00:39:13] And it's one of the few strategy RPGs that has a world map and like explorable towns and shit.

[00:39:20] And that's really cool.

[00:39:21] Yes.

[00:39:21] Like Fire Emblem, even like we'll say the Valkyrie profile game.

[00:39:26] That's a fucking strategy RPG.

[00:39:27] A lot of those you just go from like mission to mission to mission.

[00:39:31] Yeah.

[00:39:32] And it's like menu based.

[00:39:33] But Shining Force.

[00:39:34] Yeah.

[00:39:34] Yeah.

[00:39:34] You just run around Final Fantasy style.

[00:39:36] The town exploration stuff is super fun.

[00:39:39] It feels very much like say like a Final Fantasy or something where you just break in the houses and steal herbs and shit.

[00:39:45] But like I think Shining Force 1 does it slightly better because there's a lot of hidden characters in Shining Force 1 that you can miss.

[00:39:52] There's like a samurai and a ninja and all this other stuff.

[00:39:56] But Shining Force 2 is just it's it's it doesn't have as much like quirky things as Shining Force 1, but it's it has a much more focused story and is kind of just like a grander adventure overall.

[00:40:10] So that's great.

[00:40:11] Oh, yeah, it is great.

[00:40:13] And physical copies are super fucking expensive.

[00:40:15] Thanks, guys.

[00:40:16] Thankfully, it's on like every every fucking thing now.

[00:40:19] Yeah.

[00:40:19] But I would buy one just to like put it in those glass case and then just have it just to look at it.

[00:40:25] Yeah, because I'm a freak.

[00:40:29] Speaking of freaks.

[00:40:31] Oh, 41 minutes.

[00:40:32] How about we?

[00:40:34] How about how about we take an ad break?

[00:40:36] You're not going to throw to me after speaking of freaks.

[00:40:39] I was so excited by that intro.

[00:40:40] Yeah, let's know what's a room of freaks.

[00:40:42] Troy, what are you talking about?

[00:40:44] I guess like 15 minutes of that was the beginning shit.

[00:40:46] No, fuck it.

[00:40:46] Speaking of freaks.

[00:40:48] Let's take an ad break.

[00:44:42] I'm a really big fan of it and I hope you find one that really hooks you.

[00:44:47] Thank you so much for listening.

[00:44:49] Have a good one.

[00:44:51] I don't even know how the fuck it started.

[00:45:23] So mobile homes, right?

[00:45:25] Trailer homes, trailer parks.

[00:45:27] They're cheap.

[00:45:28] They're affordable.

[00:45:30] A good amount of space for a single man.

[00:45:32] What if I were to tell you we can make mobile homes even more mobile, introducing even more mobile homes.

[00:45:37] They've got legs and wheels and shit.

[00:45:38] They can actually move on their own.

[00:45:40] They're autonomous.

[00:45:41] They're autonomous.

[00:45:41] Completely autonomous.

[00:45:42] Were they transformers?

[00:45:43] Basically, except they don't transform.

[00:45:45] They stay a mobile home the entire time.

[00:45:46] So not at all like transformers.

[00:45:49] They wake up in a new city every day.

[00:45:53] It's constantly...

[00:45:54] Were they sentient mobile homes?

[00:45:56] Exactly.

[00:45:56] Where are you going to be?

[00:45:56] You don't know.

[00:45:57] It's a surprise.

[00:45:58] Yeah.

[00:45:59] I mean, you could probably tame it and befriend it by giving it its favorite food.

[00:46:03] Much like Yo-Kai Watch, the hit video game series slash anime series.

[00:46:07] Where's Yo-Kai Watch 4?

[00:46:09] Right?

[00:46:10] They said it was coming, but it still hasn't fucking come.

[00:46:12] I'm waiting.

[00:46:13] Well, anyway.

[00:46:14] If you pay a 10% markup, you can actually get the addition of the even more mobile home that lets you print out a map quest and feed it into...

[00:46:21] There's a mouth shaped hole that you put the map quest papers into and it will take you somewhere while you sleep.

[00:46:27] So you could actually go to sleep one night and wake up in the morning at your job in the parking lot.

[00:46:33] Bro, I haven't heard the phrase map quest in like years.

[00:46:36] I didn't think so though, dude.

[00:46:38] Did map quest pivot?

[00:46:39] It must have, right?

[00:46:40] There's gotta be a map quest app.

[00:46:42] They probably just ended it all.

[00:46:44] A map quest app.

[00:46:45] They ended it all, I'm sure.

[00:46:46] I'm gonna find out real quick.

[00:46:49] You know what?

[00:46:49] Here's something Tesla can't do.

[00:46:52] Tesla's, I mean sure they can drive themselves, but that's only on roads.

[00:46:55] Even more mobile homes.

[00:46:57] They can go fucking anywhere.

[00:46:59] They can go anywhere that you could like climb or like walk through a stream.

[00:47:04] A little mobile home.

[00:47:05] Yeah, you can go toward a river like in...

[00:47:08] What is that game?

[00:47:09] Oregon Trail.

[00:47:09] Oregon Trail, yeah.

[00:47:11] It gets like on its little twinkle toes and just like, you know, goes along a little creek.

[00:47:15] It has little arms that come out and pull up the siding so that the siding doesn't erode.

[00:47:21] Like a little dress.

[00:47:22] Yeah.

[00:47:23] Now, Aaron, can I talk to my mobile home?

[00:47:27] After, I mean, you have to befriend it and tame it much like a wild animal.

[00:47:31] Like a tabagotchi.

[00:47:32] You've gotta caress the siding a little bit.

[00:47:34] Be like, shh, shh, shh, shh.

[00:47:35] It's okay.

[00:47:36] I'm here for you.

[00:47:36] I love you.

[00:47:38] We're together now.

[00:47:39] It's okay.

[00:47:39] You have to clean up after its poop.

[00:47:40] He's a mobile home whisperer.

[00:47:42] Like, you clean up after its poop but it's just your poop because it's obviously not connected to plumbing.

[00:47:46] So, every time you poop it just comes out.

[00:47:48] It shits out your shit.

[00:47:49] Yeah.

[00:47:51] Oh my god, yeah.

[00:47:52] And then one day you wake up surrounded by police cars because your mobile home did something overnight.

[00:47:57] But the mobile home doesn't get in trouble.

[00:47:59] You do.

[00:47:59] No, if you have insurance.

[00:48:00] And then the mobile home doesn't bail you out of jail.

[00:48:02] If you have insurance, it's fine.

[00:48:05] Yeah.

[00:48:05] My mobile home is such an asshole.

[00:48:07] Last night I ran over some kids or something.

[00:48:11] He was doing cocaine and murdered a woman and put my blood on her body.

[00:48:15] What an asshole.

[00:48:16] Dude, it's framing you for murder so it can like, it can force you out.

[00:48:20] It can get you evicted so another family can move in.

[00:48:23] He's waked up to TikTok footage of your even more mobile home skinning a cat.

[00:48:28] Holy shit.

[00:48:30] Fuck yeah.

[00:48:33] Nick, what's your experience been like as a satisfied even more mobile homes customer?

[00:48:39] Okay.

[00:48:40] You know, not a lot of the listeners know this, but I lived in a mobile home for multiple years on top of a mountain in this far, far away place called Fairview, North Carolina.

[00:48:52] Hold on.

[00:48:52] That seems like the worst place to be in a mobile home is on a mountain.

[00:48:55] There's so many, so much room to fall.

[00:48:58] It was a community.

[00:48:59] Well, that's why he needed a sentient one.

[00:49:01] It was a community.

[00:49:02] You know, my dad, he owned a house in a historic neighborhood in Asheville.

[00:49:08] Owned it outright.

[00:49:09] Probably had a mortgage with a super low interest rate because we're talking, this is like early 90s, you know, to early 2000s, right?

[00:49:16] And then he decides one day, he says, you know what?

[00:49:18] I'm going to get rid of this for pennies on the dollar and go live in a mobile home on top of a mountain while I build a log cabin for like five years.

[00:49:28] Holy shit.

[00:49:29] The cabin was never built.

[00:49:30] Oh, we just we just lived in a trailer.

[00:49:32] It was it was great.

[00:49:33] It was great.

[00:49:33] This man got to I have vivid memories of leaving the mobile home at certain points and just going off and like fucking around in the woods because this just had endless woods on the side of the mountain for hours at a time.

[00:49:47] I had to like shit next to a tree and like wipe my ass with a leaf, you know, just the classics.

[00:49:51] You know, six.

[00:49:53] Imagine doing that.

[00:49:54] But your home follows you into the woods and your toilet would be right there.

[00:49:59] Your home wipes your ass for you.

[00:50:01] No, he watches you poop.

[00:50:03] It's not weird.

[00:50:04] That's just like that's a that's a that's a RV.

[00:50:06] That's not a mobile home, right?

[00:50:08] No, but it's that it follows you rather than driving it.

[00:50:11] It's even more mobile.

[00:50:13] Yeah.

[00:50:15] Sponsored by T-Mobile.

[00:50:17] Oh, shit.

[00:50:19] Yeah.

[00:50:19] So you've got it's it with you've constantly got Wi-Fi following you around.

[00:50:23] You got like a little leash around it.

[00:50:25] One of its arms because it's got like it's crawling.

[00:50:29] It's got two.

[00:50:29] It's two back legs are actually legs, but like the front two are arms for whatever reason.

[00:50:34] So it's like crawling.

[00:50:35] So when he runs, he's like that weird quadruped.

[00:50:40] Quadruped.

[00:50:43] All right.

[00:50:45] Troy, what's your experience been like with even more mobile homes is satisfying even more mobile homes customer?

[00:50:51] It's been great.

[00:50:51] It's really been freeing to just have no idea where I'm going to be at any time, but to know that my house is going to be there.

[00:50:57] I have lost my job and my family or I guess they lost me because I don't know exactly where I am anymore, but it's beautiful out.

[00:51:09] And hopefully tomorrow it's beautiful again.

[00:51:11] Instead of that one time it was a swamp.

[00:51:13] Don't when the evil or when the evil when the even more mobile home ends up in a swamp.

[00:51:18] Don't don't don't give the game away.

[00:51:20] Well, actually, we at we do they did this is just coming in.

[00:51:24] Boop boop boop boop boop boop boop.

[00:51:25] Hot news.

[00:51:27] Breaking news.

[00:51:28] The brand new edition of the even more mobile home is actually hydrophobic.

[00:51:33] So it will actively run away from storm clouds.

[00:51:36] And he as he actively runs away from me telling him about his exact mobile home that he needs.

[00:51:43] That's that's a good addition.

[00:51:44] Yeah, so they can they can splice the DNA of your even more mobile home with that of a mobile home.

[00:51:50] That's hydrophobic.

[00:51:52] So I won't walk into the bodies of water.

[00:51:54] Yeah, it'll seek shelter when it rains.

[00:51:57] Yeah.

[00:51:59] Yes.

[00:52:00] And speaking of and speaking of even more mobile homes.

[00:52:03] We're playing.

[00:52:04] You have a building for your even more mobile home to keep it out of the rain.

[00:52:15] And then that becomes a fucking house.

[00:52:24] We invented a house.

[00:52:27] A house that wants its own house.

[00:52:30] Thrak, what's your experience but like?

[00:52:33] Well, well, I would tell you, but I see I have one in my backyard.

[00:52:39] Right.

[00:52:40] You know, been feeding them, you know, been feeding them just random chipped.

[00:52:43] I mean, yeah.

[00:52:44] Well, I was going to get him chipped.

[00:52:46] But then this morning, you know, I was giving him just another two wheeler and he was gone.

[00:52:50] I was like, where the fuck?

[00:52:52] And he left a trail.

[00:52:53] Yeah, I followed the trail, the path of destruction, as I like to call it.

[00:52:58] We all steal trail.

[00:53:00] Yes, essentially.

[00:53:01] Yeah.

[00:53:02] There's just like oil and then just in bits of tar.

[00:53:05] And then for some reason, hair.

[00:53:07] There's a lot of hair.

[00:53:08] I don't know where the hair came from.

[00:53:09] In unit air conditioners.

[00:53:12] Just skewed left and right.

[00:53:14] Copper wiring.

[00:53:15] It was like dry ice.

[00:53:18] But but it stretched for miles and miles and I just couldn't find him.

[00:53:22] So unfortunately, I could not get a proper testimonial.

[00:53:25] So I don't know what happened.

[00:53:27] You know, maybe maybe he saw another mobile home and got excited, wanted to start a family.

[00:53:32] So maybe he just looks to me.

[00:53:35] Well, these even more mobile homes do have a self-reporting feed function, not a feature.

[00:53:40] You don't want this if you're being mean to it.

[00:53:41] So if you were mean to that mobile home, we're going to know.

[00:53:44] We're going to know.

[00:53:44] We're going to repossess that shit.

[00:53:47] You know, speaking of even more mobile homes, we have to give a special thanks to even more mobile homes publisher slash developing studio Blackrock Inc., the true creators of the cryptid mobile home.

[00:54:01] All thank you.

[00:54:02] Praise be to the dark lords of Blackrock.

[00:54:04] They really act unironically are transformers.

[00:54:07] And once we go to war with Russia, they all turn into like anti-air fucking.

[00:54:12] You're all just star screen?

[00:54:14] You just play Stardew Valley and your fucking mobile home turns into a Gundam.

[00:54:20] All right, man.

[00:54:20] Launch the double lads.

[00:54:22] It's this big like conspiracy where you're like, you're a Russian spy and you're living in an American mobile home and you're constantly telling a little like Russian war secrets.

[00:54:32] Like, like, like, KGP.

[00:54:35] That's the Russian language.

[00:54:38] You're slowly turning it around.

[00:54:41] Watch your life like a sleeper agent, even more mobile mobile home.

[00:54:45] You got like gun turrets and shit that are like, you give it the secret word.

[00:54:50] It's like microplastics and it goes like attack mode engaged.

[00:54:57] That's it.

[00:54:58] That's the ad.

[00:54:59] Thank you to our sponsors.

[00:55:02] Yes.

[00:55:02] Thank you.

[00:55:02] Thank you.

[00:55:03] Map quest.

[00:55:05] Map quest.

[00:55:06] Wherever you are.

[00:55:07] There is an app.

[00:55:09] There is.

[00:55:10] There is.

[00:55:10] Yes, there is.

[00:55:11] Like a cam girl app.

[00:55:12] Like, what do they do?

[00:55:14] Download and find out, Nave.

[00:55:17] You only fans freak.

[00:55:18] Like, they're Omegle's chief competitor.

[00:55:22] Map quest.

[00:55:23] No, each mobile home is installed with map quest.

[00:55:27] That's right.

[00:55:27] So it knows where it's going.

[00:55:29] It comes with an Amazon fire TV with only two applications.

[00:55:33] Map quest.

[00:55:35] And it has game pass in it.

[00:55:37] You know, that one month of game pass core.

[00:55:41] It's game pass core.

[00:55:42] It's not old.

[00:55:42] It's not old.

[00:55:43] Oh, thank God.

[00:55:44] I can play Halo Infinite in my mobile home.

[00:55:47] Thank God.

[00:55:48] The real bummer of that is core doesn't even include cloud playing.

[00:55:50] So you can actually use it, but it's there.

[00:55:53] Hey, you got it.

[00:55:55] Well, in six months when Microsoft drops Xbox game pass core with cloud, that's like $2

[00:56:02] more expensive.

[00:56:03] That's like, oh, okay.

[00:56:04] Now I'm not confused.

[00:56:05] The CEO of even more mobile homes thought cloud gaming was just like, you know, the clouds

[00:56:10] club gaming outside.

[00:56:11] It was Jim Ryan.

[00:56:13] The clouds that, you know, it's the clouds that obscure your satellite system while you're

[00:56:18] inside enjoying a nice television program on your even more mobile home.

[00:56:22] Walker, Texas Ranger.

[00:56:23] So instead you typically game pass through the cloud.

[00:56:28] No, you watch that show and then he thinks, then your mobile home thinks he is a Walker,

[00:56:33] Texas Ranger.

[00:56:35] Dude, do you imagine a house trying to do a roundhouse kick?

[00:56:39] Maybe that's why it's called the roundhouse because it's supposed to be performed by the

[00:56:41] even more mobile, even more mobile house.

[00:56:44] House.

[00:56:45] I don't know.

[00:56:46] Yes.

[00:56:47] Now, Aaron, now, Aaron is, now when you buy an even more mobile home, does it come with

[00:56:52] a box of Hamburger Helper?

[00:56:54] Yes.

[00:56:55] Yes.

[00:56:55] Every mobile home, not even like even more mobile homes.

[00:56:59] Every mobile home comes with Hamburger Helper.

[00:57:01] Whether you like it or not.

[00:57:03] Yeah.

[00:57:03] A one year subscription to Hamburger Helper.

[00:57:07] Hamburger Helper quarterly.

[00:57:07] But it's through the cloud.

[00:57:08] Hamburger Helper quarterly.

[00:57:09] It's through the cloud.

[00:57:10] It just rains on you once in a while.

[00:57:12] It's through the cloud.

[00:57:13] Cloud.

[00:57:14] Betty Crocker cloud recipes or Betty Crocker plus.

[00:57:19] Jesus Christ.

[00:57:21] Thanks, Betty.

[00:57:21] For sponsoring this episode.

[00:57:54] Can we just make a podcast just about this?

[00:57:57] We should.

[00:57:58] Oh my God, dude.

[00:58:00] Just writing like dystopian science fiction novels.

[00:58:04] We're back, by the way, everybody.

[00:58:06] Speaking of back.

[00:58:08] Troy.

[00:58:08] What's on your shirt, Aaron?

[00:58:10] It's just some like.

[00:58:11] Cold brew?

[00:58:12] That's the front, not the back.

[00:58:14] It's the witch's brew?

[00:58:15] It's witch's brew.

[00:58:16] Oh, I thought it was witch's brew.

[00:58:17] It's those goddamn Salem witches at it again.

[00:58:21] Yeah, with the Italian seasoning and whatever.

[00:58:23] No, the old bay seasoning.

[00:58:25] Old bay.

[00:58:26] Yeah, that's right.

[00:58:26] Real seasoning.

[00:58:28] What are we doing?

[00:58:30] Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku is a shit video game.

[00:58:35] Whoa.

[00:58:36] Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku 2 is a very good video game.

[00:58:41] Uh, I played through Legacy of Goku last year.

[00:58:45] I want to say it's a bad game.

[00:58:47] Um, what makes it bad?

[00:58:49] Okay.

[00:58:49] You know, you know, Goku.

[00:58:51] Right.

[00:58:52] And you know, if you know a few things about him, one of them is probably going to be him strong.

[00:58:56] He has a strong hat, right?

[00:58:58] Uh, that's the one.

[00:58:59] That's the one.

[00:59:00] Uh, thank you.

[00:59:01] Him strong.

[00:59:02] In Legacy of Goku, you will regularly die to a random snake in the woods.

[00:59:07] Just all the time.

[00:59:08] All the time.

[00:59:09] Random little enemies will kill you because that game's leveling system is just everything about

[00:59:12] it's broken.

[00:59:13] There's a fantasy.

[00:59:14] Final Fantasy 2.

[00:59:15] I don't know the last time you were in the woods, but snakes have venom.

[00:59:19] Yeah, but not all snakes.

[00:59:21] Snakes?

[00:59:21] If I ran into a snake in the woods.

[00:59:23] My evil mobile home died to one infect.

[00:59:28] I would die.

[00:59:29] The venom got in his transmission.

[00:59:30] That's where the next mobile home went.

[00:59:32] It's just fucking on the ground.

[00:59:34] Like, you know how Peter Griffin falls down the stairs and look at that top of a mobile home

[00:59:38] is with a snake flying.

[00:59:40] Ah.

[00:59:41] No, he's doing that.

[00:59:42] The snake's still like flopping on him.

[00:59:46] He doesn't let go.

[00:59:47] It's always called Legacy of Troy.

[00:59:50] It would make sense to die to snakes, but it's called Legacy of Goku and Goku should

[00:59:54] not die to a snake.

[00:59:55] The second game is basically all the same gameplay mechanics, but everything works better.

[00:59:59] And also it lets you play as a bunch of different characters as the story dictates,

[01:00:05] which is really, really cool.

[01:00:06] Um, and it's a shame that the first game sucks because like the art style of it's cool.

[01:00:10] The concept of like a top down Dragon Ball adventure is a really cool idea.

[01:00:14] The first game is just miserable to play.

[01:00:16] And somehow they got the green light to make a sequel.

[01:00:19] And the sequel is really, really good.

[01:00:21] And I really, really like it.

[01:00:22] The GBA ones, right?

[01:00:24] Yeah.

[01:00:24] Yeah.

[01:00:25] And then they made a third that's called Booze Fury, but it doesn't have the legacy

[01:00:30] of Goku name.

[01:00:31] But I believe it is.

[01:00:33] It is in that same line and everything except for the title devs or something.

[01:00:37] I think I think it is.

[01:00:38] I think it's everything's the same.

[01:00:40] They just took out the legacy of Goku title, maybe because they thought people wouldn't

[01:00:43] pick up a number three in the series, which honestly is why I'm surprised that legacy of

[01:00:46] Goku two is called legacy of Goku two because I did.

[01:00:50] Nobody who played the first game was going to be like, oh, cool.

[01:00:53] Another one of those, because even with the fan mod that I did that made the first game

[01:00:58] reasonable, it was still an unpleasant experience to play.

[01:01:02] But the sequel is good.

[01:01:04] Mm hmm.

[01:01:05] Nice.

[01:01:06] Hell yeah.

[01:01:06] Hey, I love those games as a kid.

[01:01:08] I don't know anything about them, but I liked it.

[01:01:11] You probably do have a fear of snakes, because if you do, you can probably trace it back to

[01:01:16] that game.

[01:01:16] That's where it came from.

[01:01:18] Yeah, it's not primordial.

[01:01:20] It's legacy of Goku.

[01:01:21] The fear of worms to just anything that looks like it.

[01:01:24] Anything that we're resembling that.

[01:01:27] Yeah.

[01:01:28] Like a hot dog.

[01:01:28] Where are Aaron's finger?

[01:01:29] Gummy worms.

[01:01:31] Yeah.

[01:01:31] Yeah.

[01:01:32] The wiggles.

[01:01:35] Disconnect.

[01:01:38] See, they flip the fuck over like the other life alert lady.

[01:01:42] Holy shit.

[01:01:44] He just like disconnects from the call.

[01:01:47] That's the fourth app in the even more mobile homes is life alert, actually.

[01:01:52] Oh, cause my, my house is falling and I can't get up.

[01:01:56] Yeah.

[01:01:58] Does that make sense?

[01:01:59] Cause you gotta call like a, you gotta call one of those like house moving trucks to like

[01:02:04] the double A or whatever.

[01:02:06] Triple A.

[01:02:07] It's triple A alert.

[01:02:08] Triple A.

[01:02:09] It's gonna have that extra A, dude.

[01:02:12] Houses are heavy.

[01:02:15] Nave.

[01:02:16] Nave go.

[01:02:18] Uh, I'm talking about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.

[01:02:21] Three boys.

[01:02:22] Oh yeah.

[01:02:23] The best one.

[01:02:23] Is this the one that had dark Darth Maul as like the, one of the secret add ons?

[01:02:28] I guess as good as mine.

[01:02:30] I think it's three.

[01:02:31] I think it's three.

[01:02:32] Cause it's like, yeah, he's a, he's one of the characters that you can do like a cheat

[01:02:35] code and unlock him or you do something crazy in the game.

[01:02:39] Yeah.

[01:02:39] You can do cheat codes too though.

[01:02:41] Everyone.

[01:02:41] Wolverine is for sure.

[01:02:43] Yes.

[01:02:43] Yes.

[01:02:44] I do.

[01:02:45] Spider-Man's too, right?

[01:02:46] Yeah.

[01:02:47] I think Spider-Man's a two.

[01:02:48] Where did they get the license to put them in?

[01:02:50] Did Activision have a license for all those characters back then?

[01:02:53] Activision was making all the Spider-Man games at the time.

[01:02:55] So for not only Activision, literally the same people that made Tony Hawk, the Neversoft

[01:03:01] guys made the Spider-Man games and didn't like, wasn't, uh, didn't, was Raven still under

[01:03:07] Activision as a publisher when they did like the X-Men Origins Wolverine game?

[01:03:12] Yeah.

[01:03:12] Raven was a developer.

[01:03:14] Just, but they were just under Activision still at that point.

[01:03:17] Yeah.

[01:03:17] Well, I think they were always, weren't they always under Activision?

[01:03:20] I don't know.

[01:03:21] No idea.

[01:03:22] I'll never forgive Activision for not doing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 remastered.

[01:03:26] I'm really fucking mad about that.

[01:03:28] Well, maybe Microsoft will let them do it.

[01:03:29] What did you think about 1 and 2 remastered?

[01:03:30] It's not happening.

[01:03:31] It's the fucking way.

[01:03:33] I love it.

[01:03:34] Don't get your hopes up, man.

[01:03:34] Really?

[01:03:37] I'm going to get 70, 80 hours into it.

[01:03:38] Like I'm probably going to download it just talking about it and play it some more.

[01:03:43] Like, fuck.

[01:03:44] The achievements are really hard because you have to do insane, like crazy, get, you have

[01:03:48] to like do an entire map wide gap and what it fucking combo.

[01:03:52] It's terrible, but.

[01:03:53] Do a price there.

[01:03:55] Yeah.

[01:03:56] No one good.

[01:03:56] Three is the like pinnacle of that series, which is why like 1 and 2 remake.

[01:04:00] I was like, this is great.

[01:04:02] It's not what I want.

[01:04:03] Like, like I appreciate that you remade these, but come on.

[01:04:07] Where's where's three?

[01:04:09] That's obviously what we're here for.

[01:04:10] Well, I think it's like the more kind of cultural like touchstone ones, you know, man.

[01:04:16] Like those are the ones people think about more.

[01:04:18] Yeah.

[01:04:19] Until you go back and play them and you're like, oh my God, I can't revert.

[01:04:22] Yeah, this is tough.

[01:04:26] You can't even manual in one.

[01:04:28] You know that?

[01:04:28] Let's see.

[01:04:30] You've got manual until four, right?

[01:04:33] It's two.

[01:04:34] Two added manual.

[01:04:34] Oh, two added.

[01:04:35] Okay.

[01:04:36] And three added revert, I believe.

[01:04:38] Yeah.

[01:04:39] And then we had finally we're here.

[01:04:41] Like, let's see.

[01:04:42] We had refinery is the first level.

[01:04:45] Yes.

[01:04:45] Yeah.

[01:04:46] Then Alaska, Canada, Canada.

[01:04:49] The guy had some.

[01:04:50] They're the same.

[01:04:51] They're the same.

[01:04:52] His tongue stuck to a pole.

[01:04:54] That was a good one.

[01:04:55] He had to had to smack him to get him off there.

[01:04:58] I was a fun game.

[01:04:58] And then there was that one Tony Hawk games where you could get off of your skateboard

[01:05:03] and that was cool.

[01:05:04] You could run around.

[01:05:06] Yeah.

[01:05:06] Or it was American Wasteland.

[01:05:08] Actually.

[01:05:08] I think you could do that in four too, right?

[01:05:11] Really?

[01:05:11] No, four is the first one that opened up, but you couldn't walk.

[01:05:14] I think that was a skitch in four though.

[01:05:16] Yeah.

[01:05:16] Skitch in.

[01:05:17] Which was worthless.

[01:05:19] I mean, it was cool.

[01:05:20] That was like its big feature when it came out.

[01:05:22] They're like, you could skitch.

[01:05:23] And I'm like, oh, this doesn't actually add that much.

[01:05:25] Have y'all ever skitched in real life on a skateboard or rollerblades or anything?

[01:05:31] Are you crazy?

[01:05:31] I was on a skateboard one time, fell on my ass and was like, I'm never doing this again.

[01:05:36] Actually, I lied.

[01:05:37] I did it on a bike, which is much less scary.

[01:05:41] And that was like 10 years ago.

[01:05:41] That seems more scary because your balance is like, oh, that seems tippy.

[01:05:45] I've done it on rollerblades and it's okay.

[01:05:48] Skitching a bike on rollerblades is very, very fun.

[01:05:51] You get a friend on a bicycle, you grab those two little hooks under the seat.

[01:05:54] I thought you were doing like a fucking human centipede of the bike is behind the guy on the rollerblades in the car.

[01:06:01] Which one's the mouth?

[01:06:03] We need to do a Superpod network roller disco.

[01:06:05] That'd be cool.

[01:06:06] I thought you were going to say Superpod human centipede.

[01:06:10] Human centipede tier list.

[01:06:12] I'm about to blow your mind even more.

[01:06:14] Human centipede of even more mobile homes.

[01:06:16] That's just like a convoy, I guess, or trailer park community.

[01:06:20] I don't know.

[01:06:21] Uh, Nick.

[01:06:23] Um, yeah.

[01:06:25] This is tough because I have a whole list here that I'm looking at and I kind of want to, you know, do justice.

[01:06:30] There's just so many, so many children have to choose from now to talk about.

[01:06:34] But speaking of children, I'm going to go ahead and talk about a Resident Evil game that I don't normally talk about.

[01:06:40] And that's Resident Evil seven.

[01:06:42] And I'll tell you what boys.

[01:06:43] I really do enjoy seven a lot.

[01:06:45] I know that it's contentious.

[01:06:47] You haven't played it yet?

[01:06:48] I have it, but I still have yet to play it.

[01:06:50] I would highly recommend it.

[01:06:52] I think like seven is the game that kind of turned or it was like in Capcom's like, yeah, it was a turn return to form in terms of like a true horror styled game.

[01:07:03] I think that they lean more heavily into body horror.

[01:07:06] Um, Nave, have you played this?

[01:07:07] I feel like we might've talked about seven before at some point.

[01:07:10] I do love seven, which, but like the way I would describe it to Thrak, cause he was with me on Doom Eternal.

[01:07:16] It is like seven and eight is like Doom Eternal.

[01:07:19] And then Doom 2016 where like seven's very slow compared to eight.

[01:07:24] And then eight is just like, like the thing I was so sad about with seven, which I still love it, but I was like, oh, it's not like stupid anymore.

[01:07:32] And then like, yeah, I got to eight.

[01:07:34] It's like, oh, it's really stupid again, boys.

[01:07:38] Yeah.

[01:07:40] Yeah.

[01:07:41] It's so very seriously, doesn't it?

[01:07:42] I do appreciate how seriously it takes itself.

[01:07:45] And I think that like, it was funny because I didn't expect having as much of a linear story that was kind of like delivered to me in seven.

[01:07:52] But like they do some really cool stuff in terms of like bending like different horror genres, cause obviously they're leaning into like, you know, cerebral horror.

[01:08:00] They're leaning into like body horror very, very heavily.

[01:08:02] But at the end they turn like to this like very kind of film oriented, like first person shooter or no, not first person, like found footage camera styled like horror in terms of the way they present it.

[01:08:14] There's like a moment where you have to go through a, it's kind of like a horror fun house, like Texas chainsaw massacre, you know, Texas roadhouse type situation.

[01:08:23] And then your character is having fucking nails, you know, shoved into his gut and stuff.

[01:08:26] It was, it's insane, but it is absolutely insane.

[01:08:30] But um, has a VR mode and I don't like scary games and decided I should play Resident Evil seven in VR.

[01:08:39] It sounds like a terrible idea.

[01:08:41] It was, it was a very bad idea.

[01:08:44] No, God, I literally did not get to a point where anything happened to me before I was too scared to take the headset off.

[01:08:52] Because like the, just the opening of it, like you keep seeing like a guy in the distance and there's bodies hung up and stuff.

[01:08:58] And then I think you go into a part where you actually find a camcorder and you're playing that.

[01:09:03] You're playing that part.

[01:09:04] You play as the people who are filming.

[01:09:06] And there's a part where you had to go down a ladder.

[01:09:08] And I literally like, I went and got someone to sit next to me because I was like, I can't do this alone.

[01:09:16] I have to climb down this ladder.

[01:09:17] I'm going to close my eyes and you need to tell me when it's my eyes again in VR.

[01:09:23] Cause it's too scary.

[01:09:24] Well, the thing about the VR helmet is you can't see that you pissed yourself.

[01:09:28] Yeah, that's true.

[01:09:30] But you can feel it.

[01:09:31] You can only get so much in your own.

[01:09:34] Ethan's always got something wet on him though.

[01:09:36] So you just think that's a, you know, part of his hand gets fucked up.

[01:09:40] It goes, but yeah, no, the Resident Evil seven is just, it's a mountain do want it.

[01:09:44] So it's fine.

[01:09:45] Yeah, exactly.

[01:09:47] It's a little blast.

[01:09:48] That's what I do when Molly pisses on the floor.

[01:09:51] It's even better if it's Baha blast.

[01:09:56] Oh shit.

[01:09:57] Sorry, Nick.

[01:09:58] Sorry, Nick.

[01:09:58] It's okay.

[01:09:59] Yeah.

[01:10:00] But I mean like there, there's not a lot.

[01:10:01] I don't want to like make this drag on cause poor Aaron has to edit five different,

[01:10:05] you know, audio feeds for this, this one episode.

[01:10:07] No, it's fine, dude.

[01:10:08] Don't worry about it.

[01:10:09] As long as it's not two and a half hours long, I'm fine.

[01:10:11] Yeah.

[01:10:12] I just, I just think that like seven, I don't know where the franchise would have gone if

[01:10:18] they continued down the route of six.

[01:10:20] And I know that Nave loves how ridiculous and how fucking stupid six was.

[01:10:24] Oh man.

[01:10:24] And I actually own six and I, and I still haven't experienced that for myself.

[01:10:28] I, you know, I was Chris punching boulders when the resident evil five first came out, but

[01:10:32] I just never got into six and then years, you know, were, was divorced from resident evil

[01:10:36] and then came back to three remake.

[01:10:38] And then obviously, you know, coming out to play seven, but it's just that, yeah, you

[01:10:41] definitely owe it to yourself.

[01:10:42] And it's just, it pulls so many different genres into itself.

[01:10:47] You could tell that like the director that they had, you know, in charge of the seven project

[01:10:51] was become becoming like the lead person for that resident evil team.

[01:10:55] And, you know, I can't wait to try out.

[01:10:57] I don't know.

[01:10:57] I think I have it on my backlog schedule to try and jump into eight this year and see what

[01:11:02] eight is like, but I'm very excited to see that doom 2016, doom eternal comparison

[01:11:06] between the two.

[01:11:06] The, so like the higher ups and the resident evil people that made seven, uh, whenever

[01:11:11] it got released, they were looking at the end of product and they were like, there's

[01:11:14] nothing that I want to fuck in this.

[01:11:17] So like, I wouldn't want to get, I wouldn't, I wouldn't want to get stepped on by any of

[01:11:26] these people.

[01:11:27] Are you talking about the, the, the sexualization of lady Dimitrescu?

[01:11:32] Yeah.

[01:11:32] Or her three daughters, dude.

[01:11:34] Oh my God.

[01:11:36] I'm talking about them.

[01:11:37] Those dirty motherfuckers.

[01:11:39] We're talking about unicorn overlord levels of horniness.

[01:11:42] That was all like the witch dude.

[01:11:43] Come on.

[01:11:45] They knew what they were doing with the witch dude.

[01:11:48] Listeners just look up unicorn overlord, which I'm pretty sure that should be.

[01:11:51] I think her name is Yana.

[01:11:52] Do it in a Google.

[01:11:53] Her name is Yana.

[01:11:53] It's it's Google incognito mode.

[01:11:57] I need to see this.

[01:11:58] Yeah, there we go.

[01:11:59] Look up a gift.

[01:12:00] Don't just look up a picture.

[01:12:02] Oh shit.

[01:12:02] My keyboard died.

[01:12:05] Now it says witch.

[01:12:07] Yeah.

[01:12:08] Make sure you get a gift.

[01:12:09] Oh my.

[01:12:10] Oh my.

[01:12:11] Oh my.

[01:12:11] Uh, it's Thrax turn, right?

[01:12:15] I mean, you can.

[01:12:16] We're doing like a star pattern for me.

[01:12:18] Fucking star pattern.

[01:12:19] Before we get to that though, like, do you guys, as far as like horror games go, do you

[01:12:25] guys find the like first person horror games are way scarier than third person?

[01:12:29] Cause I kind of.

[01:12:30] Oh yeah, I think so.

[01:12:31] Uh, I wouldn't, I would argue against it because the third, the first person perspective is a

[01:12:36] lot narrower than a third person perspective.

[01:12:38] So a lot of times in first person games, I will not be looking in the right direction

[01:12:43] when a scary thing happens.

[01:12:44] But in third person games, it's a lot.

[01:12:47] There's a lot more real estate because the camera is so much more wide and all, especially

[01:12:51] in games that are like fixed cameras.

[01:12:53] Cause like now you're literally staring at exactly what the person wants you to be looking

[01:12:58] at.

[01:12:58] Yeah.

[01:12:58] Like signalis.

[01:12:59] Here I go.

[01:13:00] Plug in signals again.

[01:13:01] I mean, I think with first person ones, they can, you know, like put it, put the horror

[01:13:06] like right in your fucking face.

[01:13:08] You know what I mean?

[01:13:08] So you can get more of the screen, especially for like jump scares and all that.

[01:13:12] Like first person works really well for that.

[01:13:15] Oh yeah.

[01:13:16] It would be really scary.

[01:13:16] Intensity is a good word for it.

[01:13:18] Yeah.

[01:13:18] It would be really scary in a third person game.

[01:13:21] And then something gets in your face anyway, in between you and your character, like something

[01:13:25] falls on the screen.

[01:13:26] Why is it something breaking fourth wall breaking?

[01:13:29] I'm surprised.

[01:13:29] Yeah.

[01:13:30] That'd be good for like a silent hill game.

[01:13:31] I mean, I think in terms of fatal frame.

[01:13:34] Yeah.

[01:13:34] We talk, we talk about like, Oh yeah.

[01:13:36] First person versus third person.

[01:13:37] Well, fatal frame kind of does that.

[01:13:39] Yeah.

[01:13:40] Well, at least, at least what I camera mode kind of, because it's a frame.

[01:13:44] Cause what I like is it forces you to go to first person to confront like spooky thing.

[01:13:49] That's the, my problem with it though, is that it stops being scary immediately for

[01:13:53] me because I'm like, Oh, this is like time crisis.

[01:13:55] Fuck yeah.

[01:13:56] I'm going to get a high score.

[01:13:57] I mean, the ghouls can be kind of goofy in fatal frame, but you know, I just think that

[01:14:02] it's so important to kind of like build the atmosphere and like build the sound design

[01:14:08] around whatever you're going to do, whether it's third person or first person.

[01:14:11] And then we've all played horror games or games that are attempting to be horror that just

[01:14:16] have absolutely just idiots that are in the sound room.

[01:14:19] So it's like, you know, it really just, it depends on how you want to design that, that

[01:14:24] whole system.

[01:14:25] Like I just played still wakes the deep and a lot of people bounced off of it and they

[01:14:29] were like, eh, it wasn't that scary.

[01:14:31] I played it with headphones on, ratcheted all the way up.

[01:14:34] And the 3d audio was actually really good.

[01:14:36] Good.

[01:14:36] And they did a great job building atmosphere.

[01:14:39] It just seemed it would, it would be a dream job to be like the guys come from, come in

[01:14:43] from the fucking queue and they're like, Hey, uh, they're going to, some guy's going to push

[01:14:46] his hand into someone's stomach and pull their intestines out and squish it in their hands.

[01:14:50] I need you to make that noise.

[01:14:51] And you're like, okay, I got a watermelon.

[01:14:53] I got jello.

[01:14:54] I'm just going to be a sound foley is what you want to do.

[01:14:58] Yeah.

[01:15:00] Yeah.

[01:15:00] It sounds perverted.

[01:15:01] Yeah.

[01:15:03] I fully are fully art.

[01:15:05] Fully artists are still a thing.

[01:15:07] I heard they're on deviant art.

[01:15:10] Who's art is it?

[01:15:11] Speaking of deviant art, it's Thrak.

[01:15:14] Well, actually the, the, the game I'm going to pick does kind of fit in DVR.

[01:15:17] Bayonetta 2.

[01:15:19] Oh, here we go.

[01:15:20] Fuck.

[01:15:21] Goddammit.

[01:15:21] Why did I pick this?

[01:15:23] That's such a good fucking pick, dude.

[01:15:24] I've played all three Bayonettas, you know?

[01:15:28] So I'm a bit of a fan.

[01:15:29] Uh, but I got to say of all three, I think Bayonetta 2 is the most consistent as far as

[01:15:36] like an action game experience goes.

[01:15:38] Like Bayonetta 1, I, I really like a lot, but I think it has some like kind of difficulty

[01:15:43] spike stuff near the end of the game that kind of puts it out, puts it out for me.

[01:15:48] And also the story gets a little bit convoluted in that game and Bayonetta 3 is a little

[01:15:54] too all over the place, I think for what it's trying to do.

[01:15:57] But I think Bayonetta 2 finds like a nice middle ground and it's just like a streamlined

[01:16:02] eight hour, just like, you know, they step on the gas and you just fucking go, you know?

[01:16:07] And they'd have like eight hours later, you're done.

[01:16:09] You're like, holy fuck.

[01:16:10] That was awesome.

[01:16:10] It's like the matrix reloaded.

[01:16:12] Yeah.

[01:16:13] Or, or, or, uh, Doom Eternal, you know?

[01:16:15] And that game just kind of fucking hits the gas almost immediately.

[01:16:19] Um, but yeah, Bayonetta 2, that's the one I go back and play the most.

[01:16:23] Cause I think it's the most fun to play.

[01:16:25] Like it, uh, tightens up the combo system and makes it a little bit more, you know, friendly

[01:16:30] for somebody like me who maybe isn't hugely experienced in action games, but still wants

[01:16:35] to have that flashy experience, you know?

[01:16:38] And Bayonetta 2 does a great job of that.

[01:16:40] And it's my favorite design of the character, you know, the short hair and all that.

[01:16:44] Like that's, that's my, that's my Bayonetta.

[01:16:47] That's, that's, that's what I like.

[01:16:48] So great game.

[01:16:49] And the weapons are all so fucking sick too.

[01:16:52] Oh yeah.

[01:16:53] And I love the thing.

[01:16:55] And yeah.

[01:16:55] And I love like the blue hue the game has, you know, cause they all kind of have like a

[01:16:59] color theme to them.

[01:17:01] So I like the matrix.

[01:17:02] Yeah, exactly.

[01:17:03] So like the siding on my even more mobile, even more mobile mobile home.

[01:17:09] I gave it, I gave it blue Bayonetta siding.

[01:17:12] Oh God damn it.

[01:17:12] That'd be cool.

[01:17:13] Imagine a mobile home walking like Bayonetta does.

[01:17:16] Imagine like a mobile skyscraper.

[01:17:20] We had like the, you know, the Xbox 360 and the face plates that you could just take

[01:17:24] off the wall.

[01:17:25] But now we're talking all the Gears of War one.

[01:17:29] Hell yeah.

[01:17:31] Yeah.

[01:17:31] Yeah.

[01:17:31] Yeah.

[01:17:32] Bayonetta to such a good fucking pick.

[01:17:34] It's um, yeah, it, it balls to the wall.

[01:17:37] Fucking so many great battles.

[01:17:40] It may be my favorite platinum game.

[01:17:42] Like it's a bit of a toss up cause there's, you know, astral chain.

[01:17:47] Oh, astral chain.

[01:17:48] Yeah.

[01:17:49] Vanquish.

[01:17:50] Dude.

[01:17:51] Oh, fucking love.

[01:17:51] You like it even more than Babylon's fall.

[01:17:54] I never played.

[01:17:55] I didn't play Babylon's fall.

[01:17:57] Well, you can't.

[01:17:58] No one did.

[01:17:58] Well, it didn't come to Xbox.

[01:18:00] If it came to Xbox, I would actually would have tried it.

[01:18:02] But you know, if it came to game pass, you mean no Xbox.

[01:18:06] I would have gave platinum money.

[01:18:08] I mean, Hideki.

[01:18:09] Maybe not for this one.

[01:18:10] What's his name?

[01:18:11] Hideki Kamiya.

[01:18:12] He's kind of a toxic bastard though.

[01:18:14] Well, he's not.

[01:18:15] He left.

[01:18:17] Yo, have you seen the.

[01:18:18] Yeah.

[01:18:19] Yeah.

[01:18:20] Have you seen the fucking there's a YouTube video where someone was trying to figure

[01:18:24] out how many people he had blocked because he reached the limit.

[01:18:26] Yeah.

[01:18:28] And like, there's a YouTube video where someone went to a con and asked him in real life and

[01:18:32] he just showed them.

[01:18:33] It's pretty cool.

[01:18:36] Yeah.

[01:18:36] That's an amazing person.

[01:18:38] I think I think there was one that was like, didn't he block somebody that was like,

[01:18:41] Hideki Kamiya.

[01:18:42] I love all of your games.

[01:18:43] You're he blocks you.

[01:18:45] If you just.

[01:18:46] Yeah.

[01:18:46] If you speak in English, if you speak in anything but Japanese, I'll just block you immediately.

[01:18:50] Yeah.

[01:18:51] Good for him.

[01:18:52] He never.

[01:18:53] He never blocked me, though.

[01:18:55] I never tweeted at him.

[01:18:57] I'm too scared.

[01:18:57] I tweeted at him.

[01:18:58] I've tweeted at him multiple times.

[01:19:00] Who's the most interesting person you're blocked by on Twitter?

[01:19:03] Can you look at that easily?

[01:19:05] No.

[01:19:05] I don't know who I am.

[01:19:06] No.

[01:19:07] Am I blocked by Jason?

[01:19:09] I've tweeted at Pitbull multiple times.

[01:19:10] I was.

[01:19:10] Pitbull hasn't blocked me yet.

[01:19:12] All I know is I've been blocked by one person, and that was when Koichi Sugiyama died, the

[01:19:18] composer of Dragon Quest.

[01:19:19] And this one person was being like very dismissive about the other things about Sugiyama, you know,

[01:19:27] that stuff.

[01:19:28] And I was being, you know, getting mad that people were bringing it up when he died, when

[01:19:32] it's like, we should just focus on the music.

[01:19:34] And it's like, well, that stuff is important.

[01:19:37] But this other aspect was fuck.

[01:19:39] He made it public.

[01:19:40] So I figured if he made it public, we're allowed to comment on it.

[01:19:44] What did he do?

[01:19:46] He was one of the Nijing massacre deniers, a bit of a fan of the imperialist Japan during

[01:19:54] World War Two.

[01:19:55] That whole.

[01:19:56] Bummer.

[01:19:56] You can look into all that.

[01:19:58] And like a lot of older Japanese people, not a big fan of the gays.

[01:20:03] So it's a whole thing.

[01:20:05] Great musician, culturally, not necessarily the vibe of a lot of people who would have

[01:20:09] liked his music.

[01:20:10] So I am blocked by Republican Senator Ted Cruz.

[01:20:14] Nice.

[01:20:14] That's a good one.

[01:20:15] Hell yeah you are.

[01:20:16] Hell yeah you are.

[01:20:16] That's a real good one.

[01:20:18] Now I'm jealous.

[01:20:19] Mine is William Shatner.

[01:20:21] Shatner blocks me because.

[01:20:22] Shatner blocks people a lot.

[01:20:23] He does.

[01:20:24] Well, that's because he's a misogynistic prick.

[01:20:26] Did you ask him about red letter media?

[01:20:27] I thought you asked him about red letter media.

[01:20:29] No, he was being misogynistic and I said something about it and he started calling me like sport

[01:20:33] and champ and stuff and then eventually blocked me.

[01:20:36] Did he use a lot of emojis?

[01:20:37] I don't recall.

[01:20:38] I think he wanted to fuck.

[01:20:40] How do you see?

[01:20:41] How do you see who you're blocked by?

[01:20:44] I don't know.

[01:20:44] I made that up.

[01:20:46] I thought it was a funny.

[01:20:46] Wow.

[01:20:48] So in Val are over here.

[01:20:49] I'm gonna see if you can.

[01:20:50] I don't know how to look.

[01:20:51] I don't think you can.

[01:20:52] I think it's just if you go to their page and it's not there.

[01:20:56] I'm not going to everybody's page.

[01:20:58] I didn't Google everyone I've ever been mean to on Twitter.

[01:21:03] I don't know what to pick for my next one.

[01:21:05] I'm gonna go fucking Steamworld Dig 2.

[01:21:07] Holy shit.

[01:21:08] Nice.

[01:21:09] Oh, yeah, Kirby.

[01:21:11] I was just gonna say go for like Kirby in the Forgotten Land or something.

[01:21:14] I know.

[01:21:14] You actually talked about Steamworld Dig 2 in the first sequels episode.

[01:21:19] I listened to it earlier today to check what I was talking about.

[01:21:21] Did I fucking really?

[01:21:22] But you talked about it in saying I'm not gonna pick Steamworld Dig 2 because I talk

[01:21:28] about it all the time.

[01:21:29] So I think you're in the clear.

[01:21:30] Okay, cool.

[01:21:31] Two years later.

[01:21:32] Fuck.

[01:21:33] I should have picked Kirby in the Forgotten Land because that fucking game is perfect,

[01:21:36] dude.

[01:21:37] No, you lose your turn now.

[01:21:38] See, I would argue that Kirby in the Forgotten Land is not a sequel.

[01:21:40] Like, it's just the next.

[01:21:42] Really?

[01:21:42] It's another Kirby game.

[01:21:43] But is it a sequel?

[01:21:44] It's obviously a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey.

[01:21:45] Yeah, but I mean, you could say the same thing about, yeah, Mario.

[01:21:47] I don't know.

[01:21:48] None of them are.

[01:21:49] Yeah.

[01:21:51] So, Steamworld Dig 2, right?

[01:21:53] So the first Steamworld Dig is just like, um, it's a little bit of the same.

[01:21:59] It's just, you know, Metroidvania, you dig, you mine shit, turn that shit in for upgrades.

[01:22:04] There's water, water turns into steam when it gets hot.

[01:22:08] Steamworld Dig.

[01:22:09] Does it have a steampunk aesthetic?

[01:22:11] Oh yeah, yeah.

[01:22:12] Everybody, every character is like a-

[01:22:14] You don't know the Steamworld games, Nick?

[01:22:15] I have no idea.

[01:22:16] Yeah, I have no idea.

[01:22:16] Oh my God, they're great!

[01:22:17] Dude, it's on Game Pass.

[01:22:19] First, uh, Steamworld Dig 1 and 2 are on Game Pass.

[01:22:21] No way.

[01:22:21] Steamworld Heist, which is like the greatest strategy RPG ever.

[01:22:25] I don't fucking give a shit.

[01:22:26] It's XCOM, but it's a side-scroller.

[01:22:27] It's great.

[01:22:28] Exactly!

[01:22:29] Steamworld Heist 2 is coming out next month.

[01:22:33] Anyway, um, so yeah, Steamworld Dig 2.

[01:22:36] It's, uh, it picks up, I forget how long after the first Steamworld Dig.

[01:22:40] Basically, the first, the main character, Rusty from the first Steamworld Dig, he goes missing

[01:22:44] because he finds this like alien technology.

[01:22:47] Um, you find him eventually in Steamworld Dig 2 and all sorts of shit happens.

[01:22:51] But, uh, the, the hub area is just way fucking bigger.

[01:22:57] There's way more you can do, way more you can upgrade.

[01:23:00] There's more exploration basically than there was in the first Steamworld Dig.

[01:23:04] Like, like you can do way more.

[01:23:07] Uh, it's Metroidvania, but like, instead of going, like say Metroid where you're just running

[01:23:12] through place to place blasting, or like Castlevania where you're hopping and slashing and shit like

[01:23:18] that, Steamworld Dig is instead like your, half of the game is you like digging and mining

[01:23:25] and shit and you can like wall hop, of course you jump, and you've got all sorts of other

[01:23:29] upgrades.

[01:23:30] Like you can get a drill so you can dig faster, you can get a double jump, you can get a jetpack

[01:23:35] so you can explore, or so you can reach, um, platforms that are further apart, shit like

[01:23:41] that.

[01:23:42] And then while you're down there mining, you'll collect minerals and gems and shit.

[01:23:45] You'll turn that in, um, when you go back to the hub area on the surface and use that

[01:23:50] to buy more upgrades.

[01:23:52] Um, you can get better pickaxes and all sorts of other shit as well.

[01:23:56] It's, it's really fun.

[01:23:57] The music's really good.

[01:23:58] I'm gonna play Steamworld Dig 2.

[01:24:00] It's on game pass.

[01:24:01] I've always wanted to play it.

[01:24:01] So, so in terms of like the gameplay, obviously I know you said that there are times where

[01:24:06] you're going in, you find a site and you go dig down and you're, you're mining for

[01:24:10] gems or whatever the hell down there.

[01:24:11] And then like, I'm looking at screen captures and stuff or just like, I'm looking at like

[01:24:16] the Google image loadout and like, do they have like different like levels that you can

[01:24:21] play?

[01:24:22] Like after that where there's some type of progression system.

[01:24:25] Okay.

[01:24:26] Like a retro game where you make the paths that get you to the different areas.

[01:24:31] Oh, interesting.

[01:24:32] There's like different biomes.

[01:24:33] So it's like procedurally generated?

[01:24:35] I think the first one.

[01:24:38] No, I don't think it's procedurally generated.

[01:24:40] I think, yeah, there's biomes and there are specific like landmarks within the biomes,

[01:24:44] but there's not like a hallway you're going down to find that area.

[01:24:48] You were just digging and you come across areas.

[01:24:52] Oh, okay.

[01:24:53] Interesting.

[01:24:54] Nice.

[01:24:55] It's really cool.

[01:24:56] It's like, but both the first game and the second game are really cool, but this is a

[01:24:59] good one for sequels because this is one.

[01:25:02] There's no reason to play the first now that the second exists.

[01:25:06] Like it does everything.

[01:25:07] The first does better.

[01:25:08] If there is like nothing about the first game that is better than the sequel.

[01:25:13] Hell yeah, it's and hopefully they do the same with steam world heist to like, I

[01:25:17] don't know.

[01:25:18] I mean, yeah, they added that ship combat shit.

[01:25:21] That looks really cool.

[01:25:22] I mean, yeah, both steam world dig one and two wrong game pass.

[01:25:26] So I can check them out because they're good.

[01:25:28] I just might.

[01:25:30] Hell yeah.

[01:25:31] I need to talk to you about a video game released for the Xbox 360 starring Chow Yun

[01:25:37] Fat called Stranglehold, which is a sequel to hard boiled a movie starring Chow Yun.

[01:25:45] Does that count?

[01:25:46] It's a sequel.

[01:25:47] It's a video game and it's a sequel and it lets you shoot people in the nuts really,

[01:25:52] really, really well.

[01:25:54] I would have picked Ghostbusters the video game then.

[01:25:57] Am I going to do it?

[01:25:58] No, that's totally but Ghostbusters the video game.

[01:26:00] Totally a sequel.

[01:26:01] Yeah, that's a sequel.

[01:26:02] It's a ghost.

[01:26:03] It is Ghostbusters three.

[01:26:05] Yeah, absolutely.

[01:26:06] That would that's totally valid.

[01:26:07] If you were just like Ghostbusters on the NES, not a sequel, but Ghostbusters video game

[01:26:11] sequel.

[01:26:12] Strangleholds a third person action shooter game set in Hong Kong where you're playing

[01:26:18] a cop.

[01:26:18] I don't know killing a lot of people.

[01:26:20] There's probably like a mystery or investigating or something like that, but mostly it's a game

[01:26:25] where you can run around and do dives like Max Payne style kind of except when you shoot

[01:26:30] people in the nuts.

[01:26:31] The camera slows down and zooms in on your bullet and shows their balls exploding.

[01:26:35] And that's just what video games should always be.

[01:26:38] Sniper Elite.

[01:26:39] Yeah, this this I was going to say Sniper Elite is it's this it's it's Stranglehold and Sniper

[01:26:45] Elite are the two champions of video game nut shots.

[01:26:49] But I don't think in Sniper Elite you can jump into the air, grind on a rail like your

[01:26:54] Tony Hawk wearing soap shoes and shoot a guy in the nuts while you do so.

[01:26:58] So I think I give the edge to Stranglehold.

[01:27:01] I've never played Sniper Elite, so I can't say personally, I prefer the Max Payne games.

[01:27:07] I mean, that's, you know, obviously what they're co-oping, but it makes sense to go for that

[01:27:11] because I think Max Payne itself was inspired by the the John Woo movies.

[01:27:16] Sure.

[01:27:16] That John Woo is actually involved in this and a Chao Young fat.

[01:27:20] They got him back as well.

[01:27:22] So which is really cool.

[01:27:23] And I believe when there are like special editions of this that came with a copy of Hard Boiled.

[01:27:28] I think so.

[01:27:29] I yeah, I'll be honest.

[01:27:31] I never actually seen Hard Boiled.

[01:27:32] I just like this.

[01:27:33] Oh, I've seen dude Hard Boiled.

[01:27:35] Bro, you need to watch Hard Boiled.

[01:27:37] It is.

[01:27:38] How many nut shots are there in it?

[01:27:40] I didn't count, but there's a lot of there's there's a great scene that's like in a hospital

[01:27:46] and it's all just like one continuous shot.

[01:27:48] So it goes for like five minutes.

[01:27:50] There's the scene in the warehouse with all the dudes on the bikes.

[01:27:53] Like it's fucking gung fu.

[01:27:55] Gun fu is what it was called.

[01:27:56] Fucking incredible.

[01:27:58] It's an amazing movie and the game is fine.

[01:28:01] Like it's not a bad.

[01:28:02] It's not.

[01:28:03] It's not great, but it's so much fun.

[01:28:05] I'm glad I finally played it.

[01:28:07] Like I finally got to experience it.

[01:28:09] And do you know who who made it?

[01:28:12] I don't off the top of my head.

[01:28:14] Camelot.

[01:28:15] Midway.

[01:28:16] Oh, right.

[01:28:17] It was that way.

[01:28:18] Yep.

[01:28:19] This was part of like a midway trying to, you know, being like we have more than just

[01:28:23] Mortal Kombat guys.

[01:28:24] We have sad death rattle of like nowhere.

[01:28:27] We're good.

[01:28:27] We make games.

[01:28:28] Oh, well, they had Mortal Kombat, but you can only ride that for so long.

[01:28:33] Mm hmm.

[01:28:34] Don't they make rush San Francisco?

[01:28:38] Big rush, rush, rush.

[01:28:40] They should have kept making those.

[01:28:43] It's called back to an older game or older episode.

[01:28:45] It really is midway.

[01:28:47] Okay.

[01:28:48] Yeah.

[01:28:48] If it's on N64, it's probably Nintendo Activision or Midway.

[01:28:52] Like it's one of those three.

[01:28:54] Oh, where?

[01:28:54] Acclaim made to rock.

[01:28:55] We only had like three, didn't they?

[01:28:57] On N64?

[01:28:58] Oh, no, I guess they did the.

[01:28:59] Okay.

[01:29:00] Yeah.

[01:29:00] Nevermind.

[01:29:00] They did like everything.

[01:29:02] Yeah.

[01:29:04] Everything in GameCube.

[01:29:05] Yeah, it was like two.

[01:29:06] Including the best sequels.

[01:29:07] Star Fox Adventures.

[01:29:10] It's fun.

[01:29:10] That's the one on Titan's Store Planet, right?

[01:29:12] That is.

[01:29:12] Yes.

[01:29:13] It's no Star Fox Assault.

[01:29:15] I just wanted to fuck that fox girl.

[01:29:18] Everybody does, dude.

[01:29:22] Invite her back to your mini mobile home.

[01:29:25] Yeah.

[01:29:26] If we can find it.

[01:29:27] Wait, wait, wait.

[01:29:27] The fucking Star Fox like tanks and shit.

[01:29:30] Didn't they walk in?

[01:29:32] It turns into an Arwing and just starts flying.

[01:29:35] Aradave, what's your next game?

[01:29:37] Rock Band 3.

[01:29:38] You knew it was coming.

[01:29:40] We're talking about Rock Band 3.

[01:29:43] Rock Band 3 was the peak because of the Rock Band network where they relinquished the

[01:29:49] They relinquished making music that you can license and put onto the game to the actual

[01:29:54] bands and stuff like the bands labels.

[01:29:57] So that's how we got Seether and like asking Alexandria.

[01:30:00] We got a Meshuggah song.

[01:30:01] We got all kinds of crazy shit.

[01:30:03] We got a fucking Tobuscus song like fucking I don't know if you guys know who that is.

[01:30:07] He's kind of crazy now, but fuck dude.

[01:30:10] I was I was loving life back in the day playing Rock Band 3.

[01:30:14] This is whenever they added the pro guitar, the pro drums with the symbols.

[01:30:18] They added the keyboard.

[01:30:20] Nobody used the pro guitar sucked.

[01:30:22] It was worthless.

[01:30:24] But I had it.

[01:30:26] It was there was.

[01:30:27] Okay.

[01:30:28] Now hear me out.

[01:30:29] This is a boomer ass thing that they invented, but it is a plastic guitar with a button for

[01:30:35] every fret down the guitar for every string.

[01:30:38] Yeah.

[01:30:38] Yeah.

[01:30:39] I'm seeing this like 300 buttons and it didn't work.

[01:30:47] There's no texture.

[01:30:48] You can't tell where your fingers are on the fucking thing.

[01:30:51] So and then on the screen, obviously, you know, everyone knows what the guitar here on

[01:30:55] rock band like highways look like that you're playing the charts where you're playing the

[01:30:59] music.

[01:30:59] There's nowhere near enough information for you to be like display everything you need to

[01:31:04] know.

[01:31:04] So it's like G chord.

[01:31:06] And then it's like a weird people just need to look this up.

[01:31:09] What pro guitar looks like on YouTube, but like it will be just like a fucking blob like

[01:31:15] on the screen rather than notes to be pushed down.

[01:31:17] And then if it's just singular notes, it's not such a big deal.

[01:31:20] But normally it's like a fucking bunch of chords and it's terrible.

[01:31:23] So it barely worked.

[01:31:25] You can get a pro guitar on eBay for 40 bucks right now.

[01:31:28] I think that's less than the regular guitars.

[01:31:31] Well, it's because those only work on rock band three, whereas the rock band three guitars,

[01:31:36] you can get an adapter and play them on rock band four.

[01:31:39] You can't get that adapter.

[01:31:41] Unfortunately, $800.

[01:31:43] I mean, yeah, yeah.

[01:31:44] Hypothetically speaking, fucking dongle.

[01:31:47] Yeah.

[01:31:47] Yeah.

[01:31:47] Wasn't rock band three.

[01:31:48] This was the era where wasn't rock band trying to be like, oh, let's actually make this more

[01:31:53] of like a teaching tool.

[01:31:55] Cause like that keyboard also like had like, you know, MIDI functions and you could do pro

[01:32:00] keyboard, which is just essentially just play them.

[01:32:02] So you could just play the fucking, you know, song real keyboard.

[01:32:06] Yeah.

[01:32:06] Which it's weird.

[01:32:07] It's like a kind of, that's kind of where like Rocksmith comes into play.

[01:32:11] And you know, Rocksmith is I've messed with Rocksmith.

[01:32:14] It's actually like pretty good for what it is, but it's niche, you know?

[01:32:17] Cause it's like, if you want to learn guitar, you know, just get a fucking guitar and figure

[01:32:21] it out, kid.

[01:32:21] You don't need to like buy a video game.

[01:32:23] Well, that's what this is like, you need a real guitar to play it.

[01:32:27] But I always tell people to get rock.

[01:32:28] If you have steam, just get Rocksmith 2024 or 2014.

[01:32:32] I don't know if they still sell it, honestly, but like get that and, and the cable.

[01:32:37] And it is an amazing, just amp.

[01:32:39] Like you just get like a million different amps and just, you can just fuck with it.

[01:32:42] Like just put all kinds of different cabinets and stuff together.

[01:32:45] That's what I would do is I would just fucking play guitar on my Xbox.

[01:32:49] Like, can you play a Suze phone though?

[01:32:52] If it plugs into an amp, you can play whatever you want.

[01:32:55] Actually, you can play electric Suze phone.

[01:32:58] I'll figure that out on my own time.

[01:33:00] Electric triangle, baby.

[01:33:02] I'm looking at you up in that bitch.

[01:33:03] That footage of this pro guitar highway and it is inscrutable.

[01:33:08] It's terrible.

[01:33:10] It's like learning fucking hieroglyphics, but the hieroglyphics went through Google Translate

[01:33:14] for Latin first.

[01:33:15] It would probably be easier to just learn guitar.

[01:33:18] Yeah.

[01:33:18] It is infinitely easier.

[01:33:23] Nick.

[01:33:24] Okay.

[01:33:25] I've been thinking about this one.

[01:33:26] I've been thinking about what I was going to pick and I was going to be like, do I, do I pull?

[01:33:31] Do I, do I pull a game that my cohost will from the Friday night game cast is going to be proud of me?

[01:33:36] Or do I just go, go hard.

[01:33:38] Right.

[01:33:39] But I think I'm going to, I'm going to stay true.

[01:33:41] I'm going to stay true.

[01:33:43] Go for Alex Jones.

[01:33:44] I could go for Alex.

[01:33:45] I don't know.

[01:33:47] Maybe not.

[01:33:47] I don't know if I have that energy.

[01:33:49] They're coming.

[01:33:49] They're going to take everything.

[01:33:50] They're making the more mobile homes.

[01:33:52] They're killing everybody.

[01:33:54] Um, I like women, not men.

[01:33:56] But speaking of killing everybody.

[01:33:59] Titanfall 2.

[01:34:00] Have you guys seen the fucking Doom Eternal with Alex Jones' voice over it?

[01:34:03] Oh, Titanfall 2.

[01:34:03] I never sucked any ding-dongs.

[01:34:06] Ding-dongs?

[01:34:08] These are actual quotes from him by the way.

[01:34:11] Oh.

[01:34:12] Yeah.

[01:34:13] I think I'm going to go with Titanfall 2.

[01:34:15] Oh, yes.

[01:34:16] One of the coolest.

[01:34:18] Yes.

[01:34:18] One of the most-

[01:34:19] Who the fuck cares about Titanfall 1?

[01:34:21] First person shit.

[01:34:21] Yeah.

[01:34:22] Like, I mean, I don't even know what happened to that game.

[01:34:24] I don't know what-

[01:34:24] It's multiplayer only.

[01:34:24] Nothing happened to that.

[01:34:26] It's only multiplayer and the servers are shut down because EA sucks.

[01:34:29] But goddamn, the campaign mode for Titanfall 2 is just incredible.

[01:34:34] How dare, you know, Respawn be the first ones to actually make you care about a big fucking mech?

[01:34:40] I don't know if they have an emotional connection to that thing, but they planned to pull it off.

[01:34:43] My name mode on.

[01:34:44] Goddamn it, I was about to see that game.

[01:34:46] It's a game.

[01:34:47] They got you.

[01:34:48] Yeah, it's just a Titan.

[01:34:50] Yeah, exactly.

[01:34:51] But, you know, I think Titanfall 2 also was one of the first games to like truly do what you see a lot now in a lot of modern games with the power of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X where they switch worlds at random.

[01:35:05] It's like the same world, but back in time.

[01:35:06] But Titanfall 2 was the first game to do that and they do it really well in that game.

[01:35:11] Like they implement like puzzle elements to it.

[01:35:13] It's like, you know, I don't know.

[01:35:15] It's just like describing the arenas when you're actually outside of the Titan and you're wall running and you're zipping around and slingshotting yourself through like the various levels.

[01:35:24] It's like a third person or like a first person multi-dimensional action puzzle shooter.

[01:35:31] Like it's a it's an incredible game.

[01:35:33] And if anybody hasn't played this game, you owe it to yourself to go back and play that one.

[01:35:38] It's a 100% a must play on the backlog.

[01:35:40] And it's like a six hour campaign.

[01:35:42] It goes on sale.

[01:35:43] I've only played the first game.

[01:35:45] The first game was already fucking tits.

[01:35:47] It is.

[01:35:48] Literally, like, I think it is the best design first person shooter campaign.

[01:35:53] Like, yeah, it's one of the best.

[01:35:56] It's one of the best.

[01:35:57] It's not my favorite shooter campaign of all time.

[01:35:59] So I think some have better stories.

[01:36:01] Right.

[01:36:01] But Titanfall 2 just has such an incredible pacing to it.

[01:36:05] And what I love is that it's able to have two completely different styles of first person shooting.

[01:36:11] Yeah, because there's when you're on the ground as a human, you know, and then when you climb into the Titan and they both feel completely different, they're both just as satisfying.

[01:36:20] They feel good.

[01:36:21] And I've never played.

[01:36:22] It's so amazing.

[01:36:23] I've never played a Titan or a mech game even today.

[01:36:26] I mean, I don't know.

[01:36:27] Dave, you probably played more mech games than I have at this point.

[01:36:30] But like the playing as a Titan in that mode, even when you're in the big arenas fighting the other ones, nothing really matches up to that.

[01:36:37] I don't know.

[01:36:37] What do you think?

[01:36:38] Well, baby, I got a game for you.

[01:36:39] It's called Metal Wolf Chaos XD made by the guys that made Dark Souls.

[01:36:45] It's called Custom Robo.

[01:36:46] I'm not joking.

[01:36:49] It's like Gundam Gundam build fighters that you guys covered on gaming together.

[01:36:54] There's a good Gundam game.

[01:36:57] Oh, there's a lot.

[01:36:58] There's a couple of good ones.

[01:36:59] But I don't believe you.

[01:37:02] The Metal Wolf Chaos XD, please.

[01:37:05] It's published by Devolver?

[01:37:07] Yeah, dude.

[01:37:08] What?

[01:37:08] I've heard of that game.

[01:37:10] Metal Wolf Chaos XD.

[01:37:10] And it's great because it's all about the vice president usurping power in America and throwing out the regular president.

[01:37:18] Oh, yeah.

[01:37:18] You play as the regular president and you get in a mech and you fight the vice president in another mech.

[01:37:25] That sounds awesome.

[01:37:26] You'd swear it was made by Kojima.

[01:37:27] When the fuck is Joe Biden getting in his mech?

[01:37:29] That's what I want to fucking know.

[01:37:31] Sleepy Joe in the mech.

[01:37:32] Sleepy Joe, give that man a mech.

[01:37:33] He's going to have to put the MapQuest in there so that whenever he takes his ass.

[01:37:38] This looks awesome.

[01:37:39] I'm telling you guys.

[01:37:41] This looks fucking sick.

[01:37:42] Holy shit.

[01:37:43] Yeah, that game is pretty sick.

[01:37:44] Wasn't that on the original Xbox back in the day?

[01:37:46] Yeah, it looks like XD is a remaster for PS4 era.

[01:37:49] I'm going to grab it on Steam.

[01:37:50] Yeah, I think it was like Japan on sale, wasn't it?

[01:37:53] Damn.

[01:37:53] Go support Devolver.

[01:37:55] Go buy Metal Wolf Chaos XD.

[01:37:56] Oh, it's on...

[01:37:57] It's $24.99 on Steam.

[01:38:00] How much is it on Xbox right now?

[01:38:02] There's a super big ass sale going on.

[01:38:04] I didn't see it in there.

[01:38:07] That's a deep pull.

[01:38:08] I don't know if anybody's can do it, but...

[01:38:09] Let me pause my power wash and check.

[01:38:10] But playing as a mech in that game, you would say it's pretty good, Nave.

[01:38:13] It's okay.

[01:38:15] It's just okay.

[01:38:16] It's just a fucking meme.

[01:38:18] Okay, alright, alright.

[01:38:19] There we go.

[01:38:20] It's a crazy game.

[01:38:22] Yeah.

[01:38:22] From the perspective of someone who's only ever played the first Titanfall, I know exactly

[01:38:27] what you mean.

[01:38:27] From software?

[01:38:28] I'm telling you, dude.

[01:38:29] Yeah, this was like Frum's pre-Souls period where they were just making a lot of weird

[01:38:35] shit.

[01:38:35] It's like Kingsfield?

[01:38:36] It's post Kingsfield.

[01:38:38] Thrak, I think it's your pick, isn't it?

[01:38:40] Uh, crap.

[01:38:41] I wasn't thinking.

[01:38:43] Um...

[01:38:43] Do you want me to go so you can buy it sometime?

[01:38:45] Damn it, Thrak, you're goddamn power washing.

[01:38:48] I got it.

[01:38:49] Okay.

[01:38:49] I'm gonna pick, uh, uh, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.

[01:38:55] Hell yeah!

[01:38:56] I was literally like, I love Professor Layton.

[01:38:59] Big Professor Layton fan.

[01:39:00] I 100%ed all six mainline games, cause I'm a freak.

[01:39:03] Um, and Unwound Future is my favorite of the bunch.

[01:39:07] So it's the end of the original trilogy, which is the first three games.

[01:39:11] And yeah, basically finishes out the story with, you know, Layton and you know, he has

[01:39:17] his, I think it was his girlfriend or something.

[01:39:19] It's been a while since I've played the game.

[01:39:21] But, um, it introduces time travel and it's just like further refining the logic puzzles

[01:39:26] and just, you know, it does a good job of rounding out the trilogy.

[01:39:30] So like it pulls you in.

[01:39:32] Um, it, it's not good if you haven't played any of them.

[01:39:36] Like if you haven't played any of them, play Diabolical Box.

[01:39:39] Like that's the one to play.

[01:39:41] Because it has an amazing story and the puzzles are genuinely really good.

[01:39:45] And it just stands as like a solid title on its own.

[01:39:48] But Unwound Future was the one I enjoyed the most.

[01:39:52] Cause just that latent formula of a point and click adventure with logic puzzles.

[01:39:57] Just, it, it just ticked something in my brain.

[01:40:00] So yeah, I, I love it.

[01:40:02] And I, and I, and I look forward to the next one.

[01:40:04] That was a new world of steam whenever that's coming out.

[01:40:07] Something like that.

[01:40:07] Um, it'll be curious cause they, they have a new puzzle master.

[01:40:10] It's like a, like a, a set of people.

[01:40:13] So, but yeah, Unwound Future, fantastic.

[01:40:15] It has weird time travel convoluted stuff in there, but you know, I don't fully remember it.

[01:40:20] So I'm not going to get into it.

[01:40:22] Hell yeah.

[01:40:22] And they, and they've always got cool little mini games too.

[01:40:25] Like, yeah, I think it was, it was either, I think it was Diabolical Box where you can make

[01:40:29] different kinds of tea with different ingredients.

[01:40:31] Yeah.

[01:40:32] Yes.

[01:40:33] Yes.

[01:40:33] I think Unwound Future.

[01:40:35] On the, on the DS.

[01:40:36] I'm sorry to interrupt.

[01:40:37] Yeah.

[01:40:37] Yeah.

[01:40:37] The first four on the DS, uh, the next two are on the three DS and then there's the one

[01:40:44] starring his daughter that's on three DS.

[01:40:46] It's on switch as well.

[01:40:48] Uh, but people tend not to like that one, but I haven't played it yet.

[01:40:51] Then there's the, uh, Phoenix Wright crossover, which is stuck on the three DS as well.

[01:40:56] It's a shame cause it's a really cool series, but yeah, it's kind of like stuck on the

[01:41:00] DS because it was just perfectly made for that console, you know?

[01:41:04] Like, yeah, the first three are on a mobile devices.

[01:41:07] So if you want to see them with like HD cut scenes, um, in fact, I think they were going

[01:41:13] to do the first three on switch, but, um, they, they said they were going to, and then

[01:41:18] they just never did.

[01:41:19] Yeah.

[01:41:20] So bullshit.

[01:41:21] Yeah.

[01:41:21] But hopefully this new one will spark, uh, some life back into the series.

[01:41:27] Maybe we'll do something with the old ones.

[01:41:28] That'd be cool.

[01:41:29] My, my last one.

[01:41:31] I'm going to go with, uh, with an oldie, but a goodie.

[01:41:33] Uh, I'm going to do trials of mana.

[01:41:35] It's goddamn.

[01:41:36] I love secret.

[01:41:37] That's not the PS one one.

[01:41:39] Is it?

[01:41:39] I think Philip just played that this year.

[01:41:41] Didn't he?

[01:41:43] Uh, he played one of them.

[01:41:46] Yeah.

[01:41:46] He played something mana.

[01:41:47] Visions of mana is coming out this year, right?

[01:41:50] Yeah.

[01:41:51] The new one.

[01:41:52] He played trials.

[01:41:53] Yeah.

[01:41:55] Trials is, uh, it was Japan only for the longest time on super family.

[01:41:58] Com, but with the collection of mana, it's, it's now, it's now available in English.

[01:42:03] Plus there's the remake that came out, I think in 2020.

[01:42:06] That's right.

[01:42:07] That's right.

[01:42:08] Uh, yeah, both versions are good.

[01:42:10] Honestly, the, uh, SNES now version and the, and the remake, but I'm going to go with

[01:42:15] the, the super family com version.

[01:42:17] Um, but it's, it's fucking awesome, man.

[01:42:20] So secret of mana already awesome.

[01:42:22] Visuals are great.

[01:42:24] Great soundtrack, except for the AI, the AI fucking sucks because they get stuck on walls

[01:42:29] and like hedge mazes and ship, but trials of mana.

[01:42:33] You can depict from like, you can build your party of, I think it's like three out of six

[01:42:39] characters.

[01:42:39] I believe, you know, there's the healer, the, the mage, the, the dragoon or like, um, the

[01:42:47] spear fighter lady, sword fighter guy, the martial artist slash werewolf.

[01:42:51] There's all sorts of crazy ass characters.

[01:42:54] And then, yeah, so you, you build your, your perfect team of your favorite characters.

[01:42:58] And later on in the game, you can, you can upgrade them into a different class or you pick

[01:43:04] from like one of two classes from like light and dark styles.

[01:43:07] So like, what is it?

[01:43:10] The, the healer chick can either be like a sage who's like full on healing, or you can

[01:43:17] be like a, a summoner.

[01:43:20] Like they can summon these little monsters to fight for you and also do healing.

[01:43:24] Um, the AI doesn't suck balls, which is cool that they actually follow you and don't get

[01:43:30] stuck on walls.

[01:43:31] And that's really, really cool.

[01:43:32] Unless you want your balls sucked, which that's true.

[01:43:35] Then go back to the previous game.

[01:43:36] Cause they'll do that.

[01:43:38] That's the secret of mana.

[01:43:40] That's right.

[01:43:43] Um, and then there's this cool day and night cycle that you'll constantly see going

[01:43:49] in trials of mana, which is like insane for, for an SNES game.

[01:43:52] Cause not many games did that.

[01:43:54] Yeah.

[01:43:54] There's a whole bunch of different elements that are affected by that.

[01:43:57] Like one of the main characters I mentioned, the, um, martial artist werewolf guy at night,

[01:44:02] he becomes a werewolf.

[01:44:03] So he's stronger.

[01:44:04] He can take more hits without dying.

[01:44:07] There's, um, enemies will also have different forms at night or no, no.

[01:44:11] There's different enemies that will appear at night.

[01:44:13] There's also like, you can go to a black market that only comes out at night and buy rarer items

[01:44:20] and weapons and shit like that.

[01:44:21] That's not, that's not, uh, available during the day.

[01:44:25] Um, yeah, man, it's just, are, are the mana games standalone?

[01:44:29] Like is this, is this one where again, where you can jump in at this one or?

[01:44:33] Yeah, you can play any of them.

[01:44:34] Okay.

[01:44:35] Without having to play the previous ones.

[01:44:37] Okay.

[01:44:37] Are they all connected though?

[01:44:38] Like, are they in the same universe?

[01:44:42] I pretty much.

[01:44:43] Yeah.

[01:44:43] They, I mean, they use like the same concepts and ideas and shit.

[01:44:47] I don't know if there's like a timeline for the games or anything like that, but it's

[01:44:52] a, it's a sequel though.

[01:44:54] I think.

[01:44:54] Cause I've barely played the mana series and I've always really wanted to like give

[01:44:59] them a try.

[01:44:59] Cause they look like games I would enjoy.

[01:45:02] Um, I haven't sort of, I have sort of mod on the GBA and I feel like that's the one

[01:45:07] I should start with.

[01:45:08] Cause it's like a remake of the original.

[01:45:10] That's a remake of the first one.

[01:45:11] Yeah.

[01:45:11] Yeah.

[01:45:12] I'm going to play the one with the big dog snake that you get to ride.

[01:45:16] The big dog.

[01:45:17] That sounds cool.

[01:45:19] That's the new one.

[01:45:20] Did you see the dog snake?

[01:45:21] What is it?

[01:45:22] Mana dog snake.

[01:45:23] Am I nine?

[01:45:24] Visions of mana?

[01:45:24] Oh, I took an edible when I watched the Xbox showcase.

[01:45:27] So maybe I'm insane.

[01:45:28] Well, cause when visions of mana was in the, I think it was in the developer direct and

[01:45:33] that game looks fucking gorgeous.

[01:45:36] Like it looked, well now I'm watching a video on Reddit of, of a dog killing a snake.

[01:45:39] So that's not what I wanted.

[01:45:40] That's what I wanted.

[01:45:41] Is it a black lab?

[01:45:43] Oh, dog.

[01:45:43] That's what I wanted.

[01:45:47] Wow.

[01:45:50] Well, sorry I exposed you to that.

[01:45:52] I didn't.

[01:45:53] If you search mana dog snake, you'll get to see a black lab just really taking on a snake.

[01:45:58] Let me check this out.

[01:45:59] He wins.

[01:46:00] He's a good boy, I guess.

[01:46:02] Oh God.

[01:46:03] Fuck man.

[01:46:03] Not a lot of these games are on Xbox though.

[01:46:05] It looks like, like, uh, the first three games are for sure on switch.

[01:46:12] I don't know.

[01:46:13] There's a collection of mana on the switch.

[01:46:15] Yeah.

[01:46:16] You fucking threw that thing.

[01:46:17] Holy shit.

[01:46:23] Yeah.

[01:46:23] I'll put it.

[01:46:24] Collection of mana is, uh, 15 bucks on or 16 bucks on the switch right now.

[01:46:28] That's fucking steal.

[01:46:29] I had collection of mana for a while and I, I, I sampled everything and it was really

[01:46:34] cool.

[01:46:35] It's cool, man.

[01:46:36] Here.

[01:46:37] How do I put the, how do I put things in the chat here?

[01:46:39] It was, it was done by M2 and M2 know what they're doing.

[01:46:42] They do.

[01:46:42] There's the dog.

[01:46:44] There's all those, uh, Sega ages ports that are fucking awesome.

[01:46:46] Cause I did play a bit of the original final fantasy adventure and it was all right.

[01:46:50] But you know, a lot of Game Boy games haven't aged the best.

[01:46:54] So I figured like sort of mana, the proper GBA remake of that would be really cool.

[01:47:00] Okay.

[01:47:00] So this is where I got confused.

[01:47:01] So the dog has scales like an armadillo though.

[01:47:04] I just remembered the dog having a scales.

[01:47:06] So I thought it was like a snake, but you were talking about the dog who was killing the

[01:47:11] snake still.

[01:47:11] And I was like, he has scales.

[01:47:13] I didn't get to that part.

[01:47:15] I do like the designer of this dog.

[01:47:17] He looks like a good boy.

[01:47:19] Yeah.

[01:47:19] But yeah, vision to mana looks fantastic.

[01:47:23] Like I think it's in like the dragon quest 11 engine.

[01:47:26] Like it has that kind of like color palette to it, you know, cause dragon quest 11 is fucking

[01:47:30] gorgeous.

[01:47:31] Yeah.

[01:47:31] So if it's just that, but like action combat, I'm in.

[01:47:35] I think that.

[01:47:36] Yeah.

[01:47:36] It's pretty much that it looks like.

[01:47:37] Yeah.

[01:47:38] So if you mana freaks play visions and say, it's great.

[01:47:41] I will buy it.

[01:47:43] Mana freaks are outside waiting for anyone to talk to them.

[01:47:47] I don't go outside.

[01:47:48] What are you talking about?

[01:47:49] You know what?

[01:48:13] While we, uh, while we begin to wrap this fucker up, I totally forgot to have anybody

[01:48:16] plug their shows at the beginning.

[01:48:18] So let's, uh, let's do a little bit of that.

[01:48:22] Um, Troy, you went first.

[01:48:23] Go ahead and be a plug here.

[01:48:24] Put your show, anything else, all that stuff.

[01:48:27] Uh, sure.

[01:48:29] Uh, my show is called turtle power presents power play through podcast with turtle power.

[01:48:34] It's an audio.

[01:48:35] It's an audio.

[01:48:35] Let's play podcast.

[01:48:36] It's like Twitch for your ears.

[01:48:38] Uh, sometimes in theory, I'm playing through Zelda Oracle of ages right now, but that those

[01:48:45] episodes are few and far between.

[01:48:47] Um, but I do a lot of sampling of, uh, usually like indie games and stuff like that.

[01:48:51] So, uh, subscribe to that and you'll hear me talk about weird games.

[01:48:55] Um, and then spelled T R O Y T L E.

[01:48:59] Troy is nine souls.

[01:49:01] The hype that everybody's been saying it is nine souls is great.

[01:49:04] And I don't like it, uh, because it's too hard, but it has, it has some, uh, uh, I found

[01:49:10] out after I decided it was too hard that it has really nice accessibility features.

[01:49:14] So I'm going to go make that game easier.

[01:49:16] And then I think I will love it because it's beautiful.

[01:49:19] It's just very hard.

[01:49:21] I had to stop playing that game.

[01:49:22] Cause it made me too hard.

[01:49:23] I don't know what we're talking about.

[01:49:25] That's you.

[01:49:26] You're into some shit is what you've just, uh, shared with us.

[01:49:30] That's what you've shared with the class.

[01:49:32] Um, it's naive.

[01:49:33] We're not surprised.

[01:49:34] And then, uh, I'm also, I'm going to shout out super switch club, which is a podcast that

[01:49:38] I'm like part of, but it's not my podcast.

[01:49:40] It's a book club style podcast where we play games that are on the Nintendo switch online

[01:49:45] service.

[01:49:46] Uh, and it's very fun.

[01:49:47] It's called super switch club.

[01:49:48] Anybody can contribute.

[01:49:50] Have you done shining force yet?

[01:49:51] We have not done shining force.

[01:49:52] That's shining force was nominated in our Genesis season.

[01:49:55] We're currently, uh, in the bracket for our super Nintendo season right now.

[01:49:59] We are also.

[01:50:05] Ocarina of time.

[01:50:06] Ocarina of time.

[01:50:08] And we are in the dog goes cabin.

[01:50:11] This is my son, Atticus.

[01:50:12] And yes, he and I have been streaming Ocarina of time over on YouTube as well.

[01:50:16] So if you want to see a four and a half year old, try and figure out Ocarina of time

[01:50:20] master mode, uh, because he's doing a better job than I ever did.

[01:50:26] Good job.

[01:50:27] Yeah.

[01:50:28] Yeah.

[01:50:28] We also have a friend and what his name is.

[01:50:33] That's that's Aaron.

[01:50:34] No, no, no.

[01:50:35] His name right there.

[01:50:36] Up up there.

[01:50:37] What?

[01:50:38] Up there.

[01:50:39] Oh, my friend Skelly was in the chat when we were playing.

[01:50:42] Is that what you're talking about?

[01:50:43] He's pointing to the camera saying that that's where our friend is because we were talking

[01:50:46] to Skelly.

[01:50:47] Okay.

[01:50:48] I'm going to let somebody else talk now.

[01:50:49] Okay.

[01:50:50] Okay.

[01:50:51] Thanks, bud.

[01:50:54] All right, if you got to know the floor is your words.

[01:50:57] Yeah.

[01:50:57] A cooperative podcast.

[01:50:58] That's what, that's what I do.

[01:51:00] We're crazy.

[01:51:01] I try to annoy everyone that comes on and so they never come back, but at least it's

[01:51:07] funny.

[01:51:07] Also honorable mentioned in your automata and portal to, Oh, I need to put your automata.

[01:51:14] Oh, it's so good.

[01:51:15] Yeah.

[01:51:16] Yeah.

[01:51:17] Yeah.

[01:51:17] Nick.

[01:51:18] Okay.

[01:51:19] So I am one half of the Friday night game cast.

[01:51:22] My other cohost will he couldn't make it here tonight because he got eaten by his let's

[01:51:29] go more mobile homes, even more mobile homes.

[01:51:34] So, but, but no McFlurry.

[01:51:36] We're yeah, exactly.

[01:51:37] We're a, we're a podcast after Aaron's own heart.

[01:51:40] We're a topical variety podcast.

[01:51:42] We talk about like a lot of different topics.

[01:51:44] We, we reuse plenty of topics year over year, but we also have been doing a lot of focus

[01:51:49] video game reviews over the course of time.

[01:51:52] So really whatever has been floating our boat, we just have the most recent review out

[01:51:56] for a tales of Kanzara Zao incredible game, good Metro video platformer.

[01:52:00] And right before that, we did a wonderful show with a Matt stormageddon on dragon's dogma

[01:52:05] too.

[01:52:06] And that was a really fun podcast that we got together to do.

[01:52:09] But anyway, so yeah, if you want to find us anywhere on any pod catcher, we are the Friday

[01:52:14] night game cast.

[01:52:15] And if you want to reach out to me on Twitter, I manage our Twitter account.

[01:52:18] It's at F and G C pod.

[01:52:20] I forgot to mention that Aaron's going to be on our show talking about by the time this is

[01:52:25] out, it'll, our, our episode will be out already.

[01:52:27] Uh, what are we talking about?

[01:52:29] I've cassette beast, cassette beast.

[01:52:31] Yeah.

[01:52:32] I'll never remember that name.

[01:52:33] Yeah.

[01:52:33] It's awesome.

[01:52:34] It's awesome.

[01:52:35] Uh, Thrak.

[01:52:36] Well, I am the cohost of the 3DO experience.

[01:52:40] Me and my buddy, Bill, we talk about the 3DO.

[01:52:43] So we, we just focus on the console, the games, the company, all the, the weird stuff that

[01:52:49] surrounds it.

[01:52:49] Um, there's an episode out, uh, with Aaron where we're talking about a game called tripped,

[01:52:55] which is a, it's a wacky puzzle game.

[01:52:58] So you should check that out.

[01:53:00] Um, and hopefully by this point we'll be at episode 50, which we plan on for episode 50,

[01:53:04] doing a tier list of all the games that we've played already to, to kind of review and see

[01:53:09] which ones are actually good.

[01:53:11] There's a few of them.

[01:53:11] So, um, yeah, just, just go check that out.

[01:53:14] Uh, wherever you're listening to this.

[01:53:16] Am I invited?

[01:53:17] I've never, I don't even know what a 3DO looks like.

[01:53:20] We'll get you on eventually.

[01:53:22] We'll figure it out.

[01:53:24] We'll have my people talk to your people.

[01:53:26] Yeah.

[01:53:26] Talk about battle tanks.

[01:53:28] I'll have my mobile phone.

[01:53:29] Talk to your mobile phone.

[01:53:29] The quest is coming on for that.

[01:53:31] So my, my nemesis, apparently.

[01:53:34] Quest 64, man.

[01:53:36] Apparently we're rivals now.

[01:53:40] There you have it listeners.

[01:53:42] Um, yeah.

[01:53:43] So super pod saga.

[01:53:44] Of course you're listening to it.

[01:53:45] You know where it is.

[01:53:45] Super pod network.com.

[01:53:47] Check it out.

[01:53:48] Blogs, episodes, podcasts, Patreons, uh, co-fi.

[01:53:54] Yes.

[01:53:54] Ads soon.

[01:53:55] I think a Google AdSense is confusing as shit.

[01:53:58] Ads dot TXT.

[01:54:00] Like you should have a tab where all of the fake ads go and just clip out all the fake

[01:54:04] ads.

[01:54:04] Yeah.

[01:54:05] We need to, we need to make like the fake ads.

[01:54:07] We should do that.

[01:54:08] Like design logos and like actual sponsor profiles for them.

[01:54:13] It'd be great.

[01:54:14] I'm the logo guy.

[01:54:15] I actually don't know how to make logos.

[01:54:16] I could put things other people have made together.

[01:54:19] It's shittily.

[01:54:21] We need to fucking do that.

[01:54:22] We'll, we'll do like an archive of all the different sponsors and shit.

[01:54:25] That'll be awesome.

[01:54:26] What, what do I usually do?

[01:54:27] Oh yeah.

[01:54:28] Uh, uh, listeners leave a rating slash review wherever you're listening to this guy.

[01:54:32] Support the show on patrion two or $4 a month.

[01:54:34] I really appreciate it.

[01:54:35] I love you.

[01:54:36] Um, everybody say bye.

[01:54:38] Bye.

[01:54:39] Bye.

[01:54:40] Bye.

[01:54:42] See you.

[01:54:42] Bye.

[01:54:44] Okay.

[01:54:44] Bye.
