[00:00:13] Hello and welcome again to the current installment of Video Games Analyzed, the video game podcast where I, Tommy, your host, will give you expert analysis on video games and video game related... no, just video games.

[00:00:37] And I've got a guest with me to discuss, to analyze these video games. He is an expert in the field of video games and his name is Aaron. Hello Aaron, give us a quick synopsis of your expertise in video games. Hello and thank you Tommy and thanks for having me on.

[00:00:58] I went to school for many years, learning all about the history of video games and the history of electronics and how to make electronics and how to make games too. I did all that. I went to school for about 10 years.

[00:01:19] Yeah, I'm glad to bring all of this knowledge and all my years of growing my expertise onto this show, this fine show. Thank you so much for having me on. You must have some big lungs to talk that much. Today we are going to be talking about the video game called Chrono Traeger.

[00:01:45] It's the video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System that released in 1995, which was the year that the game came out. Hold on, hold on. Plus it was wow. I know, but it interrupts my... now my flow is all off. Um, just... I'll, I'll throw it to you when it's, when it's your turn to talk. Does that sound okay? Sorry, yeah. I didn't throw it to you. I didn't.

[00:02:17] Chrono Traeger was released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and it was a revolutionary game in, uh, Japanese role-playing games that featured, uh, uh, combat without loading screens where, where you just kind of encountered the enemies and the combat started, uh, as you like approach the enemies. Um, uh, and it did other cool things. What, uh, what cool things did you experience with the game, Aaron?

[00:02:44] Uh, I thought it was cool that the, the one character was a frog. He's a frog with a sword. And then there's a, uh, then there's a robot. That was cool. One character is, uh, one character is a caveman. Well, not a caveman. She's a lady. So cave lady, uh, that, that was pretty cool. You can, uh, you can combine attacks together to do bigger, cooler attacks. Uh, uh, did I, did I mention the robot?

[00:03:13] The robot's cool. I like the robot very much. And you know, those, uh, those, those clacking teeth where you little, you turn the knob and they just kind of hop around and they just go clack, clack, clack, clack. Yeah. That's what it, that's what it's like with you talking, man. You get it's, you just keep going. Um, yeah, let's, uh, try cutting that down. We, we, it's a limited show.

[00:03:34] Um, uh, another thing that Corona trigger features is time travel, uh, where you can travel between times to explore the same area in different time to the distant future, to the distant past. It was really incredible to be able to change how things happen in the different time periods. Uh, Aaron, which, which time period was your favorite to explore?

[00:03:55] I really, really liked the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, sorry, the apocalyptic one where the world ended after Lavos destroyed it. I really liked that one. It was cool how you can see the destroyed domes and everything in the destroyed landscape. It's like a nuclear winter. It's, uh, the music that. Okay. Okay. Yes. That's just answer the question. You don't have to keep, you just keep talking and talking and talking.

[00:04:23] And it's just like, man, we're here to, to just to, to give an analysis of video games that we don't, we don't need an encyclopedia. You're not impressing anyone. It's just, we're just, we're just analyzing video games, man. Just analyzing video games. Uh, I got it. It's, I didn't throw it to you. Didn't throw it to you. I've got the ball. Didn't throw it. You'll know when I throw it to you. You got it. I know.

[00:04:51] Uh, um, another thing that I liked about Chrono Trigger was the music. Oh my gosh. Just wonderful music. Just, just dreamy, melodic music when it needed to be a tense, tense, uh, exciting music when it needed to be. It fit the eras really well. I really enjoyed it. It just built so much character into the game. Uh, what, uh, Aaron, I am throwing the ball to you.

[00:05:21] What music did you enjoy in the game? Fight fight music. Thank you. Thank you. Wonderful answer. Excellent insight. This is why I brought you on the show. This is why. Thank you. Thank you. Um, no, no, let's just get the review scores out. Um, Corona trigger for me is a, is a, it's pretty much a perfect game.

[00:05:50] I think I'm okay saying that I'm going to give it five stars in the past, present and future. What do you give it, Aaron? I'm going to give it, I'm going to give it, I'm going to give it one star, one, say it one star and, uh, and, and, and two frogs and, uh, and a robot and a cave lady. And, uh, that'll look quite tough to stop. Yep. That's it. Just, just a number. Thank you, Aaron, for being here. Five. Thank you, Aaron, for being here.

[00:06:18] You, you've been a, it's, it's been a pleasure having you on the show. You got it. Thanks for listening to video games analyze check in next week where I almost certainly will have a different guest and we will discuss video games. Keep on gaming.
