[00:00:00] Hello, Superstars. Hey, it's me Aaron. I could fight way more lines than you and this is SuperPod Saga!
[00:00:10] Go ahead and sing it. Can you do it? Can you do this song for memory? Oh fun! SuperPod Saga! I can't actually do my intro song.
[00:00:31] Yeah, I'm a fan of the guitar solo. Meanily, meanily, meanily, mea...
[00:00:40] That's right! SuperPod Saga! Hey, you're listening to the podcast SuperPod Saga. I don't know why I f**k a trip over myself like that.
[00:00:49] For the first time listeners, this is the podcast where you're host Aaron, I'll invite some guests on and we discuss a different video game topic each week.
[00:00:59] And we'll discuss every possible last detail, every minute detail, every bullet point, every facet, every of that topic.
[00:01:08] We'll talk all day about that goddamn topic and as soon as we're done, we'll head on out the door to our night jobs where Cowboy has cashier and Wendy's.
[00:01:18] J.B. and that's very surprising. He's a fish market grunt. Jake is a dairy farmer or slash comedian.
[00:01:28] And I'm a manufactured psychic, man. It's because of all the lines that I fight. I'm just too good.
[00:01:35] And I have manufactured my own brand of chalk. Aaron's chalk. It's tasty and delicious but enough about me.
[00:01:43] Hey, I have three guests joining me today. Three brand new beautiful faces. I've got Cowboy, I've got J.B., I've got Jake all from the...
[00:01:54] Go ahead and introduce your show because I know it's GameCorp. I forget the entire name I apologize. Go ahead and introduce yourselves.
[00:02:02] That's most of it. Welcome to GameCorp. There we go.
[00:02:05] Yeah, it's welcome to GameCorp. We are a mighty comedy trio. Each one of us is one third owner of GameCorp.
[00:02:12] Incorporated our podcast is welcome to GameCorp where like a hybrid comedy audio drama where we mix a fully fleshed out narrative with sound effects and scoring and really like painstakingly I want to pull my hair out beautiful audio.
[00:02:26] And we mix that up with like live and improv elements. We do all sorts of stuff on our show.
[00:02:31] We do too much. We do too much on our show. We answer, we answer listener questions. We have audience participation. We have trivia. We do improv like interviews.
[00:02:40] We even get like Lucy Goosey on April Fools and we just improv like an entire huge thing. Like please go ahead and check our show out.
[00:02:50] We recently finished our three part season two finale. It's our heroes and villains arc and we put so much work into it.
[00:03:01] And what starts is a normal day at GameCorp buying Appalachian pros in and a D&D inspired fight to save the world. So check it out please.
[00:03:13] And I'm JB aka juicy bass. That's where I work.
[00:03:20] Hey, you tied it in. Well done. You take it. It was it's my life. So it's easy to tie it. It's my life. Fish is my life. Glob Glob.
[00:03:33] Nobody knows fish like me. Quick ask me a fish related question any question. How many how many eyeballs does a fish know it is a bass almost at base bass Jesus Christ.
[00:03:45] You know, a lot of people think it's two and the surprising thing is they're right. It's two. It's crazy. Awesome. How many fish in the ocean?
[00:03:54] That a lot. That's right. He's got it. I expected no one tell you can't stump me. He's pretty good. He's pretty good at that. Anti-stumpable. That's this. That's your middle.
[00:04:06] Because trees don't live in the sea. How are you going to stump me? Juicy on stumpable bass. You just stop spitting fire, right?
[00:04:15] It's a five full four four. That. You guys go ahead now introduce yourselves. Talk a little bit about your maybe like the games you like all that stuff, go we'll serve Cowboy because he's running underneath me.
[00:04:28] I mean, we've already we've already narrowed ourselves into some stereotypes. I'm Cowboy. I'm one of the host of Welcome to GameCorp.
[00:04:35] I'm known as the design guy.
[00:04:37] I'm all about like the games that have really good design.
[00:04:40] Graphics, I don't care.
[00:04:41] Make them a bit, make them triple A, whatever.
[00:04:44] The fun, yeah it can be fun but what really matters is
[00:04:47] that a really interesting cool complex game.
[00:04:50] So that's what I'm into.
[00:04:51] I'm kind of like, I'm the nerd.
[00:04:53] I guess that makes me the nerd.
[00:04:55] Yeah he's into mechanics right?
[00:04:56] Like how a game operates, how it feels that type of stuff.
[00:05:00] Awesome.
[00:05:00] Yeah I'm always bitching if a UI is bad.
[00:05:03] I don't care how fun the game is.
[00:05:04] If I can't hit escape to get out of a menu,
[00:05:07] I trash it and I did it.
[00:05:10] If it's got a like dollar store like mobile game UI
[00:05:15] on a phone alone console game, that shit is the worst.
[00:05:18] Like no we're fucking story of seasons bro.
[00:05:20] Get out of here with that fucking garbage.
[00:05:23] There's a little bit of power world had some UI issues there.
[00:05:26] Couldn't stomach that.
[00:05:27] Apple game has issues.
[00:05:30] I played the game for like maybe I think 30 minutes.
[00:05:34] My dude was, I was climbing up a pillar or something
[00:05:38] and I got stuck on the top.
[00:05:39] My character literally got stuck to the top of the pillar
[00:05:42] and I couldn't jump off or move or anything
[00:05:44] and I was like, I'm done with that.
[00:05:48] Yeah, I got like 10 minutes into the base building
[00:05:50] and I'm like, well now that they've let me base build
[00:05:52] there's not enough base building here.
[00:05:55] We gave you a little bit and I'm like,
[00:05:56] I want to stake dinner.
[00:05:58] I'm so sick of that.
[00:06:00] Speed up, stake dinner's JB.
[00:06:02] What tell us a little bit about yourself?
[00:06:05] Well, I am when it comes to the trio,
[00:06:08] I focus on the fun.
[00:06:09] I don't really care about the mechanics of the game.
[00:06:12] I don't really care about the art or the story.
[00:06:15] What I care about is if this game is fun
[00:06:17] because at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
[00:06:20] Like if it's fun to play, I don't care if it's my little pony
[00:06:23] or the Rainbow Sixie, jama-to-play that.
[00:06:27] I don't know the difference between those two.
[00:06:30] That's because they're just as fun.
[00:06:35] Their Venn diagram has a lot of overlap.
[00:06:37] It's a circle.
[00:06:39] Yeah, all the people at the fish factory
[00:06:41] would be talking about them.
[00:06:43] Yeah, a lot of brony's surprisingly
[00:06:44] play my little pony.
[00:06:46] Who the fuck?
[00:06:47] Who the fuck that?
[00:06:48] Who would have known they would have came over from seeing you?
[00:06:49] Who the fuck?
[00:06:50] Who's seeing you?
[00:06:52] Jake, my man, tell us a little bit about yourself.
[00:06:55] Well, I'm a dairy farmer and a part-time stand-up comedian.
[00:07:00] I'm hitting the...
[00:07:01] By train.
[00:07:02] Yeah, factory this Friday night, 7 to 7,
[00:07:03] 18, 2 drink minimum baby.
[00:07:06] I'd like to give you a more minimum.
[00:07:08] Two glasses of milk at the dairy farm.
[00:07:11] I'd like to get real controversial with my opinions.
[00:07:13] Now, I guess out of the three of us,
[00:07:17] I don't know, man.
[00:07:19] When I game, I focus on games as an art form.
[00:07:24] I focus on the story, the music,
[00:07:26] the art direction that the game actually takes.
[00:07:30] Most of the games that I've enjoyed the most in my life,
[00:07:34] maybe not the ones I come back to, oh, for shadowy.
[00:07:38] But the games that I appreciate the most
[00:07:40] and think that are like the best games in existence,
[00:07:44] I always view through the lens of art
[00:07:46] if the story was incredible,
[00:07:48] if it moved me, if the score was fantastic.
[00:07:52] That's what I care about most in a game.
[00:07:54] Awesome, I love it.
[00:07:57] A little bit about me.
[00:07:58] Fucking listeners already know all about me.
[00:08:01] I don't know, I like to find the good
[00:08:03] in just about any game.
[00:08:06] Any game regardless of its review score.
[00:08:09] Just get a little bit of good in it.
[00:08:10] But enough about me.
[00:08:11] Hey, no, I'm just a humble chalk manufacturer
[00:08:15] at a chalk factory.
[00:08:16] I might make snaggered couple pieces
[00:08:18] to chew on here in their lunch break.
[00:08:21] Like a mop the line.
[00:08:22] Yes, that would have all the lie.
[00:08:24] You know, I just,
[00:08:25] what I'm over in the break room
[00:08:28] talking to my best pal Jose about baseball or something.
[00:08:33] But today we're talking about games
[00:08:37] that we keep coming back to.
[00:08:38] Whether that's games that were kind of addicted to
[00:08:42] or games that you'll be once a month,
[00:08:47] once a week, once a year, whatever,
[00:08:49] once a week is a little excessive.
[00:08:51] But whatever, I'm not one to judge.
[00:08:53] Yeah, this games we keep coming back to before,
[00:08:56] before we get to all of our picks,
[00:08:59] while we're at the segment of the show
[00:09:00] where I asked my discord server question
[00:09:04] either related to the topic
[00:09:06] or just basically the topic but in question form.
[00:09:09] But yeah, I asked them,
[00:09:12] what are some games you find yourself
[00:09:14] coming back to ever so often?
[00:09:15] Not necessarily addictive games
[00:09:17] but a game that you find yourself playing over and over
[00:09:20] even after you've already beat it.
[00:09:22] The co-thusiast Jeff, he says
[00:09:24] if we're only talking games that have beaten
[00:09:26] but still returned to Star Fox's salt,
[00:09:29] Red Dead Redemption 2, Final Fantasy IX, Skyrim,
[00:09:32] Zelda Twilight Princess, I could go on so I will
[00:09:35] dissent free space one and two serious Sam,
[00:09:38] No Man's Sky, Mario 64, Fallout 4.
[00:09:41] I'll save the rest for later.
[00:09:43] My man Jeff, those are all some seriously good games
[00:09:45] especially Star Fox's salt.
[00:09:47] That's a diverse list, that's a good list.
[00:09:49] I like all the options there.
[00:09:51] I'm just looking at it like how do you feel
[00:09:54] that calendar man?
[00:09:55] Like you're sitting there,
[00:09:56] you're like okay two hours of Twilight Princess
[00:09:58] and then I got to,
[00:09:59] I need two hours of dead space
[00:10:00] and then you're like filling up your calendar
[00:10:02] with all these games.
[00:10:03] I props to ya.
[00:10:04] I, oh, insomnia, I get it.
[00:10:07] Oh man, Box Treats, Pinty Dated Lushes,
[00:10:12] a box treats Pinty Dated Lushes,
[00:10:15] she said, a Pinty Dated Lushes.
[00:10:17] She says, Life is Strange, Inscription,
[00:10:19] Franbo, I don't know what that one is, I apologize.
[00:10:22] Sanitarium, the Walking Dead Telltale,
[00:10:24] just the games that have impacted me,
[00:10:26] I always have to go replay after a year or so.
[00:10:29] Inscription, if fucking for sure that's an experience
[00:10:33] not a game, that's an experience
[00:10:34] that's some crazy shit.
[00:10:37] Yeah, that, yeah, cowboy actually played that on stream
[00:10:39] and it was a lot of fun to backseat them
[00:10:41] until the whole time.
[00:10:43] Oh, that's a game.
[00:10:45] That's one of the best games for somebody to go
[00:10:46] and to blind, which was so, it was natural for me
[00:10:49] that I went into a blind.
[00:10:51] Didn't even, JB didn't even tell me about it.
[00:10:53] I heard about it from some other podcast.
[00:10:55] Might've been you guys might've been somewhere else.
[00:10:57] I don't remember, but somebody was talking about it
[00:11:00] and they're like, I'm not gonna tell you, just go play it.
[00:11:03] So I went and played it
[00:11:04] and that is the best effect of the game
[00:11:06] is like when you get to the end
[00:11:08] and JB is just like clutching his hands over his mouth
[00:11:11] and I'm like, wait, it's not over.
[00:11:14] It keeps, wait, who is that?
[00:11:16] What is going in?
[00:11:17] And it was so good.
[00:11:18] It was my game of the year still is.
[00:11:20] It keeps going.
[00:11:21] And I want to say like it's a pinionated luscious,
[00:11:24] she chose a lot of story games
[00:11:26] which is so weird to come back to
[00:11:27] because you already know what happens.
[00:11:29] You've already experienced the story
[00:11:31] but hey, I've seen the hit movie catch me if you can
[00:11:36] probably 17 times.
[00:11:38] I can't really judge.
[00:11:40] It's not that uncommon to relive your favorite media.
[00:11:44] Like I can't count the amount of times
[00:11:47] I've watched an episode of the office.
[00:11:49] When you find, when you find the world
[00:11:52] that you want to live in, you want to stay there.
[00:11:55] People reread the books, they rewatch television.
[00:11:59] I mean, talk now and I think it's pretty common
[00:12:01] and I do it.
[00:12:03] I think it's pretty cool.
[00:12:04] Yeah, I mean, I know with life is strange
[00:12:07] and the walking dead, those have quite a few different choices
[00:12:11] you can make as well branches.
[00:12:12] Yeah, so you get a little bit of branching.
[00:12:14] I don't know what sanitarium is or franbow, franbow.
[00:12:19] I don't know.
[00:12:21] Yeah, they sound good though.
[00:12:22] Yeah, and I've seen dumb and dumb or fucking more times
[00:12:25] that I could possibly even count.
[00:12:27] Possibly 100 who knows?
[00:12:29] And you just keep fighting lions.
[00:12:31] It's kind of crazy.
[00:12:32] Exactly, dude.
[00:12:33] I don't know if it's the chock dust
[00:12:34] that's getting into your brain or what?
[00:12:37] Yes, Drake.
[00:12:38] Do you have a question?
[00:12:39] No, I thought my head was on the entire time.
[00:12:43] Yeah, my humble chock maker, chalk, ingester, lion fighter.
[00:12:48] I do it all, man, I'm a jack of all trades.
[00:12:51] Thracke, he says Metroid Fusion.
[00:12:54] Super Mario Bros. 3, Tetris.
[00:12:55] Oh, God, hexic.
[00:12:57] Sonic 2 and 3, R-E4 and Power Wash simulator.
[00:13:01] Good, wow.
[00:13:01] Shit.
[00:13:02] Interesting.
[00:13:03] Dude, okay, Power Wash.
[00:13:04] Does anybody in this room right now play Power Wash simulator a lot?
[00:13:11] I want to know.
[00:13:12] I want to know from someone who plays it.
[00:13:16] I have played it, and I enjoyed it.
[00:13:18] And I played it in VR, and it was even more enjoyable.
[00:13:20] Oh, that sounds like the way to do it.
[00:13:22] You get the spray washing over you and stuff.
[00:13:25] Yeah.
[00:13:25] Like, you know when you're playing Power Wash,
[00:13:27] and you're like, I know there's a little speck somewhere,
[00:13:29] but I can't really see it, and you're just spraying
[00:13:31] widely over the whole thing trying to find it.
[00:13:33] In VR, you can get right up in it.
[00:13:34] And you can be like, I found you.
[00:13:36] I found you, stupid speck.
[00:13:37] You're doing a little speck.
[00:13:39] Get washed.
[00:13:41] Get your kids to hit you with a spray bottle.
[00:13:43] Get them this all.
[00:13:44] Yeah, the immersion baby.
[00:13:46] Yeah, Thracke, I think he said somewhere in this conversation
[00:13:50] that he spent like 100 hours on Power Wash simulator.
[00:13:53] Yeah.
[00:13:54] He got all of the TLC for Power Wash simulator
[00:13:56] and spent like 100 hours on it.
[00:13:57] That's...
[00:13:58] I feel like at that point, you're qualified
[00:14:00] to like open up a Power washing business.
[00:14:03] Yeah, to be a Power Wash or hell yeah.
[00:14:05] Yeah, or start a temple because that sounds zen.
[00:14:07] Fuck.
[00:14:08] I feel like you are like an honorary monk
[00:14:10] if you can play that many hours.
[00:14:13] He's at peace.
[00:14:14] He is hit in Irvana through Power Wash simulator.
[00:14:17] Absolutely editor.
[00:14:19] I need a call.
[00:14:21] Dave, remember 64 where he says,
[00:14:22] hey, oh, hey, these heroes of the storm, the best MOBA.
[00:14:26] He says Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island.
[00:14:28] Oh God.
[00:14:29] WF No Marcy and Cobal Core,
[00:14:32] but that also just came out late last year.
[00:14:35] Damn fine list.
[00:14:37] Damn fine.
[00:14:37] That is my really good list.
[00:14:39] Also I disagree on every level.
[00:14:41] No, I'm just kidding.
[00:14:42] Yeah.
[00:14:43] Just a terrible part.
[00:14:44] I love it.
[00:14:45] I love it.
[00:14:46] I love it.
[00:14:47] A real Dave Jackson, he says,
[00:14:48] Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and Shovel Knight
[00:14:50] are almost yearly plays for me now.
[00:14:52] Fuck yes, on Shovel Knight dude.
[00:14:54] I've replayed Shovel Knight more times than I can count.
[00:14:57] I fucking love Shovel Knight.
[00:15:00] Ooh, is that on your list?
[00:15:02] Are we gonna get to hear about it?
[00:15:03] No, what?
[00:15:04] Add it to your list.
[00:15:05] Add it to my list.
[00:15:06] Now baby here we go.
[00:15:08] Hold on, SHOVEL.
[00:15:10] Can I GHD?
[00:15:11] There we go.
[00:15:12] Type it in.
[00:15:13] Adubis Hero he says Pokemon Soul Silver,
[00:15:16] Fallout New Vegas, Spyro, R-E-4s,
[00:15:19] BioShock Trilogy, more for later discussion.
[00:15:22] Hell yeah, yeah.
[00:15:24] I don't see a bad game on this list.
[00:15:26] Yeah, the Soul Silver.
[00:15:27] I'm a huge fan, I'm a huge fan.
[00:15:29] I'm more of a heart gold myself.
[00:15:31] But you know every yin needs a yang.
[00:15:34] Oh no, Soul Silver game.
[00:15:35] Oh, Soul Silver game rise.
[00:15:38] I've just, I've got another one to add to my list.
[00:15:39] It's not heart gold or soul silver,
[00:15:43] but I'm gonna add a Pokemon game to my list
[00:15:45] because yeah, Pokemon is great should keep coming back to.
[00:15:49] Matt, aka Storma-Ged and Chrono Trigger
[00:15:51] is number one with the bullet.
[00:15:53] Mass Effect Trilogy is up there.
[00:15:54] Shovel Knight also Metroid Fusion.
[00:15:56] Fuck yeah.
[00:15:58] Matt coming in with a fire, holy shit.
[00:16:00] Had another burp, being a little chastised.
[00:16:03] I like that that's a running theme of this.
[00:16:04] Like this episode so far, there's been a lot of burps.
[00:16:08] I like that we could just like unbutton our top button
[00:16:11] and just let it out.
[00:16:12] Just let it out today.
[00:16:14] Absolutely man, I'm in shock.
[00:16:15] Yeah, it's in a mess.
[00:16:17] It's stuck in my soft gaze.
[00:16:19] Yeah, how does it shock?
[00:16:20] It's in melsey, it just makes for burps.
[00:16:22] It's like it's calcium.
[00:16:23] I can only imagine how strong the chalky burps are.
[00:16:26] Yeah, it tastes like Nest Quick.
[00:16:28] Yeah dude, my VMs are out of this world
[00:16:31] but I'm telling you.
[00:16:32] Yeah, these are the fun of the people
[00:16:37] who refer to a shit as a VM.
[00:16:38] So I was just thinking that because in my life,
[00:16:42] the first time I ever heard somebody say VM was my wife
[00:16:47] and I was like, what is that?
[00:16:49] And she's like, what?
[00:16:50] And I was like, VM, what do you mean?
[00:16:53] Because I was thinking about that.
[00:16:54] What the fuck?
[00:16:55] Video games, you know?
[00:16:56] Like VM is bad manners.
[00:16:58] And she was like, you know, like a bowel movement.
[00:17:02] I was lost in there.
[00:17:04] Oh, like I'm like, oh, like you made it
[00:17:08] where you're saying VM.
[00:17:10] You know what?
[00:17:11] I don't make me play mental gymnastics to get to shitin'.
[00:17:14] I'm just saying you're shitin'.
[00:17:16] I'm so used to like acronyms like that
[00:17:19] and people using them for vargherities
[00:17:21] that I thought it was a sex thing
[00:17:23] because they go, yeah, I'm gonna take a VM.
[00:17:25] It can be.
[00:17:26] Gotta go take a VM.
[00:17:27] Yeah, like an SNM, like a VM.
[00:17:30] I'm like, it must be really bad
[00:17:31] that you have to say VM.
[00:17:32] So like, it's gotta be nasty.
[00:17:34] Oh, you gotta go be nasty.
[00:17:36] It's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:17:38] It's dirty bird.
[00:17:39] I wanna start saying that every time somebody goes
[00:17:40] to go to, like, they'll be like,
[00:17:42] all right, man, I'm gonna go take a shit.
[00:17:43] Yeah, make it nasty.
[00:17:45] Oh, yeah, VM on my scene.
[00:17:48] Trouble it.
[00:17:49] That's not sexy.
[00:17:50] It's not supposed to be.
[00:17:52] Oh, Revitalin, VM on my CEO.
[00:17:56] Oh no, no.
[00:17:57] No.
[00:17:58] See all over your beast.
[00:18:00] Oh no.
[00:18:01] We're getting a BDSM VM in the PMV.
[00:18:04] Oh, it's a VM with a nice.
[00:18:07] Hey, Bill G. Etsy podcast network.
[00:18:09] He says, Persona 4 Golden, obviously answered
[00:18:11] but I can't really say there's any other game
[00:18:13] I truly give a yearly playthrough to.
[00:18:15] Bill, I know you love Persona 4 Golden.
[00:18:17] That's, yeah, that was very Bill answered.
[00:18:19] Thank you.
[00:18:21] Thank you, Bill.
[00:18:22] Thank you, Bill.
[00:18:23] Now the Revivalin Extinction, he says,
[00:18:24] Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins.
[00:18:27] They're different.
[00:18:28] The different choices helps in terms of shooters,
[00:18:30] Halo 3, there's just something about it.
[00:18:32] Sports games, namely FIFA and NBA.
[00:18:35] They just seem to be games.
[00:18:36] You can just chill too.
[00:18:37] Yeah, hell yeah.
[00:18:39] Love it.
[00:18:40] Yeah, I got nothing negative to say about that list.
[00:18:42] That's a good list.
[00:18:44] I'm still waiting for the one.
[00:18:45] Yeah, I'm still waiting for the one
[00:18:46] that we can say real negative things about.
[00:18:48] Yeah.
[00:18:50] Like I like, I can't wait to,
[00:18:52] like I like, I like playing the bad guy in Wolf and Steiner.
[00:18:55] We're like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[00:18:57] Wait a minute.
[00:18:58] Wait a minute.
[00:19:00] Scored.
[00:19:04] Bacwheel.
[00:19:05] He says, I get into Ruts where I play the same games
[00:19:07] for a long time right now and keep going back to Solasta.
[00:19:10] Though it was a Dread 8, Shadow Run, Dragon Fall
[00:19:13] and Biden Magic 6 keep dragging me back.
[00:19:15] And yearly I like to play Sonic the Hedgehog 2
[00:19:17] when I restart one of the Shining Force games.
[00:19:19] Fuck yeah.
[00:19:20] Yeah.
[00:19:21] Yeah.
[00:19:22] Shining Force is a good series.
[00:19:23] Editor, let me get a call for Shining Force.
[00:19:26] Yeah, beautiful.
[00:19:27] Love it.
[00:19:27] Call.
[00:19:29] Do we need a call?
[00:19:30] Yeah.
[00:19:31] No, no, no.
[00:19:32] I just, I added it.
[00:19:33] Yeah.
[00:19:34] That's cool.
[00:19:35] He's got me.
[00:19:35] No, it's all good.
[00:19:36] I'm not even going to edit one in now.
[00:19:37] That was beautiful.
[00:19:41] Well, I should just another day at the office
[00:19:43] for Superb Otsoga.
[00:19:46] Chan Chan, he says, hold my beer as I replay this
[00:19:48] for the Billions time.
[00:19:50] Dark Souls 2, Shining Force 2, Starbox 64, Zelda 2, Mario 64.
[00:19:54] Holy shit.
[00:19:55] What a 64s and twos.
[00:19:57] It's all two 64s.
[00:19:59] Yeah.
[00:19:59] I thought, I mean, I don't know if this person
[00:20:02] is a speed runner, but I thought
[00:20:03] the only people playing Super Mario 64 right now
[00:20:05] were speed runners.
[00:20:07] No, dude, not even that game.
[00:20:09] People love that game.
[00:20:11] They have that limited run Super Mario like Super Super All
[00:20:15] Stars was 64 on it.
[00:20:16] You can play on the, you can play it on Switch right now
[00:20:19] with the like Nintendo 64 virtual console.
[00:20:21] Like it's in a bit of a Renaissance.
[00:20:24] So I got to say Super Mario All Stars
[00:20:26] is one of the probably the best games of all time.
[00:20:28] I don't know where it is on the list, but it's up there.
[00:20:31] It's up there for Shining.
[00:20:32] Judge Brad, he says civilization five and then civilization six,
[00:20:36] 500 plus hours combined, but I've never finished a game
[00:20:39] LOL holy shit.
[00:20:41] For a man.
[00:20:42] For a man.
[00:20:43] I was about to say so.
[00:20:43] He's about halfway through.
[00:20:45] Well, it's a cry for help in the discord.
[00:20:48] Oh man, they all drop an F for Tommy.
[00:20:51] All right, I'm going to create my army here.
[00:20:53] Gandhi, what are you doing?
[00:20:55] Oh my god.
[00:20:56] Oh no, Gandhi, not again.
[00:20:57] Gandhi from the top row.
[00:20:59] Bam, bam, bam.
[00:21:00] You're here.
[00:21:01] It's Gandhi with a steel chair.
[00:21:05] Mother ducker 21 journey to the Savage Planet.
[00:21:08] I play through it at least once or twice a year
[00:21:10] completely underrated game.
[00:21:12] I've never heard of that one.
[00:21:14] I've heard of it and I know it looked good.
[00:21:16] I don't know why I've never played it.
[00:21:18] Is it a survival game?
[00:21:19] Was it on Game Pass?
[00:21:20] Is that what it's a little bit no man's guy?
[00:21:23] Oh, yeah.
[00:21:24] If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's like you journey around
[00:21:27] like your journey around a planet and basically you find
[00:21:30] little bits of like goo to enhance your health
[00:21:34] and you basically just like research different plants and shit.
[00:21:38] Yeah, yeah, that's pretty much it.
[00:21:40] Yeah.
[00:21:41] This is pretty some more popular.
[00:21:42] Like people love goo.
[00:21:44] People love games with goo.
[00:21:46] I love goo.
[00:21:46] Bitches like just in general, like getting signed
[00:21:49] on Nickelodeon was like the pinnacle.
[00:21:51] Oh, dude, yeah, that made me rock hard every single time
[00:21:54] with sauce.
[00:21:55] We were raised on goo.
[00:21:57] I don't even remember what it was.
[00:21:58] I'm raised on goo.
[00:21:59] I dream.
[00:22:00] Hey, which one was it?
[00:22:01] So who was it at one of the Nickelodeon's awards?
[00:22:03] It was a singer.
[00:22:04] It was a female post-women levado
[00:22:07] that just got fucking faced with a like they pressurized
[00:22:13] the box of slime.
[00:22:15] I hope it was Ariana Grande.
[00:22:16] Like she fell down and everything if I'm remembering correctly.
[00:22:20] Selena Gomez.
[00:22:21] I don't know.
[00:22:22] I think it was like Katy Perry or something.
[00:22:24] Everloving.
[00:22:25] Oh, dude.
[00:22:26] And she died.
[00:22:27] She fucking died.
[00:22:28] She died.
[00:22:29] And they had to replace her with Keshah.
[00:22:32] It was crazy.
[00:22:34] So we got Keshah.
[00:22:35] They released the Keshah bought 4,000 to go on stage
[00:22:38] and make everyone forget.
[00:22:40] Keshah.
[00:22:41] Like these things, skater boy.
[00:22:42] Oh, Borrella.
[00:22:43] Oh, hello.
[00:22:43] Slytherin, Lysard.
[00:22:44] No fucking.
[00:22:45] She did TikTok.
[00:22:47] Oh, right.
[00:22:47] She did the TikTok song and then they turned it into an app.
[00:22:51] Yeah.
[00:22:52] That's it for the Discord set that is it for the discord now.
[00:22:56] That's a powerful discord.
[00:22:58] I gotta say props to you for cultivating such a powerful
[00:23:01] discord.
[00:23:02] Yeah, dude.
[00:23:03] I wanted to say it too.

[00:23:19] I just thought I'm being bad people.
[00:23:21] That's the funnest part about Discord is seeing like the judge
[00:23:24] bread and the caduceus Jeff and all these little fun names.

[00:24:21] No, but you can tell me.
[00:24:22] Remember it says copyright 2015.
[00:24:25] That's how you know.
[00:24:27] It's taken in 96.
[00:24:29] Y'all remember when Arby's like let a campaign against our well being and was like you could
[00:24:36] eat fucking five sandwiches for five bucks if you want.
[00:24:38] That was amazing.
[00:24:39] Five for five.
[00:24:40] Five for five.
[00:24:41] Do you want to eat five sandwiches?
[00:24:43] You get your piece of shit.
[00:24:45] You want to come in here and eat five beef and shatters and wash it down with a diet

[00:24:50] You said you should cook and back.
[00:24:52] Arby's.
[00:24:53] You could eat two.
[00:24:54] I wasn't part of the five for five.
[00:24:55] It was just the beef if you wanted the cheddar as a dog, five each baby.
[00:24:59] What about the Wendy's four for four?
[00:25:01] The Wendy's for four stole thing.
[00:25:03] The four for fries nuggets.

[00:25:19] That's just a fucking bacon cheeseburger.
[00:25:20] You fucking son of a bitch.
[00:25:21] No, no, no.

[00:25:35] Have you been there recently?
[00:25:36] Yeah.
[00:25:37] I get there for the $15 foot long and you only have like five choices.
[00:25:42] Oh, what is that?
[00:25:43] How expensive it got subway subway subway is going to die in a fire for our expensive
[00:25:47] it is.
[00:25:48] But you eat a lot of food there for low calorie people.
[00:25:51] You're not dying.
[00:25:52] That's true.
[00:25:53] I know somebody did a subway diet.
[00:25:56] Pretty things.
[00:25:57] Yeah, Jim Jones is pretty.
[00:25:59] Jim Jones is pretty.
[00:26:00] The same thing.
[00:26:01] Well, Jimmy, Jimmy Jones is pretty dope.
[00:26:04] They have all sorts of cool signs now.
[00:26:05] Hey, we're not talking about fucking deli meats and shit.
[00:26:08] We're talking about games that you can go back to.
[00:26:11] Oh, yeah, that's true.
[00:26:15] My first pick because this is my podcast.
[00:26:18] I love you guys, but fuck you.
[00:26:19] This is my show.
[00:26:20] Oh, yeah.
[00:26:21] I love just kidding.
[00:26:22] My first came offended.
[00:26:24] I am offended.
[00:26:25] I'm just fucking cowboys offline or whoever I that I clicked away for a second.
[00:26:32] I'd see you spoke, but like I am sub tweeting right now.
[00:26:35] Get ready.
[00:26:36] Oh shit.
[00:26:37] I don't know.
[00:26:38] Get ready.
[00:26:39] Get ready.
[00:26:40] My first pick is Bernat revenge.
[00:26:44] Oh shit.
[00:26:45] I, oh yeah, man.
[00:26:47] I can't get enough of this fucking game.
[00:26:50] I fuck.
[00:26:51] I think I played it on the PS2 originally back in the day as a kid and then I bought it again
[00:26:57] on the 360 and they made it backwards compatible.
[00:27:01] Like the day they made it backwards compatible, I read down a little bit, played it a bunch
[00:27:05] and since then it's always on my hard drive.
[00:27:06] I keep coming back to it for like just I guess kind of the races, like the races, the
[00:27:13] different lockable cars, the fucking bang and soundtrack dude.
[00:27:17] Oh he's the soundtrack.
[00:27:19] Oh he's the soundtrack.
[00:27:20] Fuck.
[00:27:21] And then the crash mode.
[00:27:22] Oh my god.
[00:27:23] Let me tell you about the crash mode.
[00:27:25] Yeah.
[00:27:26] Let me tell.
[00:27:27] Hey, hey, so the crash mode it's like if a puzzle game was fucking, I mean, I love
[00:27:32] puzzle games but the crash mode is like a puzzle game on fucking steroids.
[00:27:36] Like if you smoked a little bit of crack after doing with steroids, it's like let
[00:27:40] me, let me crash this fucking car in a traffic in a way that it'll block traffic and create
[00:27:45] even more crashes.
[00:27:46] Oh yeah.
[00:27:47] I remember that now that.
[00:27:49] Yeah, that was some good shit.
[00:27:52] I love that.
[00:27:53] Yeah, I got to tell you just hearing you say the words burnout revenge.
[00:27:57] I literally got goosebumps and here you have what turtle wax poetic about it is just
[00:28:03] unbelievable.
[00:28:04] I mean, Cowboy used to play this back in the day and we would play the crash mode and we
[00:28:09] would just try to do the craziest high scores.
[00:28:13] We could have that was I forgot that game existed.
[00:28:16] Thank you.
[00:28:17] Thank you so much for bringing that back into my pocket.
[00:28:20] It's this on like is this available?
[00:28:23] Like can I get it?
[00:28:24] Yeah, yeah, it's back.
[00:28:25] It's compatible on the newest Xbox is now.
[00:28:30] So you can still buy it from the 360 store and play it on your Xbox.
[00:28:34] I mean, burnout burnout paradise.
[00:28:36] I think they recently released who's well too.
[00:28:39] And that's still good.
[00:28:40] But like a revenge just has that little sweet spot in my heart.
[00:28:44] I'll get a while here at my ass to be like, oh, I should just go gold medal every single
[00:28:50] fucking event and burnout revenge.
[00:28:52] And then yep, fucking 1,500 hours later, here I am.
[00:28:56] Like I did it.
[00:28:57] Yeah, it is a car.
[00:29:00] It's a frequent member to the nostalgia memes.
[00:29:02] I always see him.
[00:29:03] It's like it's 2005.
[00:29:06] You have a whole gallon of code red and you just put in burnout revenge and it's like life
[00:29:15] is still good.
[00:29:16] Like every meme is always about that game.
[00:29:20] Oh my God, I'm looking at the soundtrack too.
[00:29:22] They had a bench seven fold.
[00:29:24] They had the doors holy shit.
[00:29:27] It's the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 soundtrack of the 2000s.
[00:29:32] Yeah, of racing games.
[00:29:34] I have never played this game.
[00:29:35] I'm missing out.
[00:29:36] I'm feeling a game night boys were getting together.
[00:29:39] We're playing some burnout.
[00:29:41] Oh, do okay.
[00:29:42] Hell yeah.
[00:29:43] Calme, I don't know if you're inviting me over now but Calme, if you want.
[00:29:46] Oh yeah, if not, if not, I know my boundaries.
[00:29:48] I mean, all uninvited.
[00:29:49] But yeah, you're absolutely delighted.
[00:29:53] I said, you have to get some of your really professional email deer and a super pod saga.
[00:29:59] First of all, how dare you second of all, you are cordially uninvited.
[00:30:03] We're going a different direction for our game.
[00:30:07] For our game, hostile.
[00:30:08] There were a lot of qualified candidates.
[00:30:11] Unfortunately, we took a look at your resume and on second thought, no, gone in a different
[00:30:19] direction.
[00:30:20] I wish I was hiring manager so I could just reply not to people.
[00:30:26] One word.
[00:30:27] No punctuation, no capitalization.
[00:30:30] Just reply to the nah.
[00:30:32] No, you're related emoji.
[00:30:35] Your application, RBS, nah.
[00:30:37] Nah.
[00:30:38] Subject R E I want to work at RBS.
[00:30:43] Body.
[00:30:44] Nah.
[00:30:45] Nah.
[00:30:46] NAW.
[00:30:47] Couple of got these too.
[00:30:49] Yeah, nah.
[00:30:50] Nah.
[00:30:51] Oh, Cal, what's your first pick?
[00:30:57] Okay, I'm going to put one on the back burner because I know it's too obvious.
[00:31:01] I'm going to go.
[00:31:03] I'm going to start at the bottom of the list.
[00:31:05] I'm going to go seven days to die.
[00:31:07] Ooh.
[00:31:08] Okay.
[00:31:09] There's a lot of zombie games out there and some are good.
[00:31:12] You could say left for dead.
[00:31:14] Goat of zombie games and then you could say dead rising, which is like single player experience,
[00:31:19] goat of zombie games.
[00:31:21] But seven days to dies is the Minecraft of zombie games.
[00:31:25] Even though minecraft has zombies in it, it don't count.
[00:31:29] Okay?
[00:31:30] It's everything.
[00:31:31] It's base building, it's digging, it's crafting.
[00:31:33] It is online multiplayer massive server.
[00:31:36] It's the best.
[00:31:38] There's punching and it's actually it works like one of my favorite things with survival
[00:31:43] games is creating a character that all they do is punch.
[00:31:47] And if the game allows me to do that, I like it so much more.
[00:31:50] And what was this game called again?
[00:31:53] Seven days to die.
[00:31:54] Seven days to die.
[00:31:55] Seven days to die.
[00:31:56] My favorite game, what's it called again?
[00:31:58] What's it called?
[00:31:59] It definitely did that for me because you could create level five iron knuckles and you
[00:32:04] can punch me by the legs.
[00:32:06] Ooh, the iron knucks.
[00:32:07] That was my whole goal.
[00:32:09] And then I got them and then I decided I was going to conquer a giant tower and I went
[00:32:13] from the base floor all the way to like floor 50 and all I did was punch my way through.
[00:32:19] And it was glorious and then I deleted it and never played it again.
[00:32:23] No, can't wait tell me tell me about the replay value.
[00:32:27] No, it does.
[00:32:30] It just has amazing replay the mechanics in the game.
[00:32:33] It looks shitty like let's all be honest.
[00:32:35] The game looks like junky as far as graphics and stuff.
[00:32:40] It plays like a bad indie game that somebody made in their first time in unity.
[00:32:44] But the mechanics underlying the game are actually really good.
[00:32:48] And so like that building you were talking about actually has structural physics to determine
[00:32:54] how the walls support the entire building.
[00:32:56] It's not a static object.
[00:32:58] You can knock a skyscraper down if you break the right support places and it does all
[00:33:03] the calculations.
[00:33:04] Like, it's a fantastic game.
[00:33:06] It's like a sleeper hit.
[00:33:07] The thing is you can always go back and you can go with friends get a big server going.
[00:33:13] There's like Twitch integration now where like the people watching can just throw a hordot
[00:33:16] zombies or make their heads big or stuff.
[00:33:19] Oh, that's cool.
[00:33:20] It's one of those games where the developers are putting love into it forever for no good
[00:33:25] reason.
[00:33:26] They don't make money doing this.
[00:33:28] Everybody's already bought it but like they're just awesome dudes.
[00:33:31] So I always go back to it.
[00:33:32] I just love it.
[00:33:33] I think it does make sense to create a giant group right?
[00:33:36] Like get all of the different podcasts together.
[00:33:38] All of the friend groups together and create a thing and we all stream separately because
[00:33:43] there's, there is, you know, localized audio right like a positional.
[00:33:48] So you can go and talk to people that are nearby you.
[00:33:51] I think it is a very good group like an amazing group streaming game for sure.
[00:33:56] Yeah.
[00:33:57] Yeah, I want to, I want to share.
[00:34:00] No, I want to share to you like, um, I joined their group late when they were playing
[00:34:04] seven days a day.
[00:34:05] Like they already, they had their little online community.
[00:34:07] They were doing stuff.
[00:34:08] I joined in late when they had already built their bases and they were in it.
[00:34:11] I became a disciple of JB's.
[00:34:14] I was learning to punch while he was punching real hard.
[00:34:16] I was punching weak, but I was doing it.
[00:34:18] I followed you into that building and um, playing that game in that group was kind of
[00:34:24] like a precursor to us actually starting a project and then in your podcast.
[00:34:30] I think that kind of it lit that.
[00:34:33] It was a catalyst.
[00:34:34] It lit that fire.
[00:34:35] Yeah, it lit the fire in us and it actually made us want to create something and yeah,
[00:34:41] you could, you can, you can blame that game or all the stuff we put out.
[00:34:45] Welcome to game board right on the world.
[00:34:47] Yeah.
[00:34:48] Yeah, we were the punchy pals.
[00:34:50] We got some motorcycles and then immediately crashed them.
[00:34:53] That's right.
[00:34:54] It was a wonderful life.
[00:34:56] We lived.
[00:34:57] I want to read you boys.
[00:34:58] My favorite steam review of this game.
[00:35:01] So I'll be pouring on.
[00:35:02] They say, I died in eight days.
[00:35:05] I win.
[00:35:06] Beautiful.
[00:35:07] Oh, fair.
[00:35:09] That's funny because that's after the giant board.
[00:35:12] They did it every seven days, the giant Horde and they died on the.
[00:35:16] Well, okay, I would beans or something.
[00:35:18] I will submit to the court that he failed.
[00:35:21] He had seven days to die.
[00:35:23] Seven days to do it.
[00:35:24] And what did he do?
[00:35:25] He did on the eighth day.
[00:35:27] He's failing.
[00:35:28] It took us a step.
[00:35:29] Yeah.
[00:35:30] JB, what's your first game?
[00:35:33] Let me go with, okay, so this one was already teased.
[00:35:35] I don't remember who said it, but my number one game I keep coming back to is Hades.
[00:35:41] Man, like, so good.
[00:35:45] I cannot wait for two.
[00:35:47] I am so stoked, man.
[00:35:49] Like, Hades was my game of the year for like four years in a row.
[00:35:54] Like, it's so good.
[00:35:55] I think it's my game of the decade, honestly.
[00:35:58] Game of the presidential term.
[00:35:59] Yeah.
[00:36:00] Yeah.
[00:36:01] For more years.
[00:36:02] For more years.
[00:36:06] Everybody says we got bad games, but I say Hades.
[00:36:10] You don't know.
[00:36:11] You don't know about the Hades.
[00:36:13] Not a bad guy.
[00:36:14] It was a weird Italian Trump.
[00:36:15] I liked it.
[00:36:16] I like that.
[00:36:17] I like that.
[00:36:18] We got the spaghetti and the Hades.
[00:36:21] We got the spaghetti.
[00:36:23] We got the best spaghetti.
[00:36:25] Bunchon, no, it's me.
[00:36:27] The Donald Trump.
[00:36:28] He's coming.
[00:36:29] Donald Trump.
[00:36:30] All right.
[00:36:32] What?
[00:36:34] So what you're saying is when you watch the video game awards every year
[00:36:37] and they announce the winner, you just sit back in your couch and go, nah.
[00:36:42] Yeah.
[00:36:43] I don't think that Hades got the appeal or the I should say like the critical acclaim
[00:36:50] that it deserved because it was so it was a passion project.
[00:36:55] A hundred percent.
[00:36:56] It was made by a developer that had an amazing track record.
[00:36:59] There was no microturise actions.
[00:37:01] There was no battle pass or anything.
[00:37:04] It was an infinitely replayable, incredible storyline that like every time you beat it,
[00:37:11] you got a little bit more of the story and it just drip fed you and doorphins like crazy
[00:37:17] and like you could play it however you wanted.
[00:37:20] You could create crazy broken billions.
[00:37:22] You can hamstring yourself and like go in hardcore.
[00:37:26] Like there was just, there was something for everything.
[00:37:29] Everybody.
[00:37:30] Yeah.
[00:37:31] It was so sexy.
[00:37:32] It was so sexy.
[00:37:33] Everyone was just so sexy in that game.
[00:37:36] So much play through it.
[00:37:37] Every place where you're in the high romance Meg.
[00:37:39] Yeah.
[00:37:40] I was a duke.
[00:37:41] The Herculee's movie.
[00:37:42] I didn't want to say it first.
[00:37:45] Cowboys and dukes.
[00:37:46] No, Cowboys is the mama.
[00:37:48] Oh yeah, Nick.
[00:37:49] Is that Nick?
[00:37:50] Yeah.
[00:37:51] Yeah, Nick's.
[00:37:52] Mrs. Munker's herself.
[00:37:54] Yeah, fucking.
[00:37:55] Yeah, fucking the amount of customization you get pre run is just fucking insane because
[00:38:02] like first off you could pick one of like what six weapons five weapons.
[00:38:06] Yeah.
[00:38:07] Then it's like, okay, well which fucking aspect do you want to change it up even more?
[00:38:11] One of like three or four aspects that fundamentally changed the way the weapon works so you can
[00:38:17] play it a little differently.
[00:38:19] You can have a spear where your whole point is to like be at far distance and poke them.
[00:38:24] But then you can have one where your whole thing is like throwing it.
[00:38:26] Like just chucking a spear and then opening yourself up for damage and then like calling
[00:38:30] it back and doing it again.
[00:38:32] There's magic builds.
[00:38:33] There's like for every build there's like five sub builds that are all viable and fun
[00:38:38] and I just yeah, it is such a fucking good game.
[00:38:43] I've got to about it to Tommy rip to a real one.
[00:38:46] Tom word.
[00:38:47] Yeah.
[00:38:48] Yeah.
[00:38:49] A gosh to him so much about the game he eventually went and bought it.
[00:38:53] And he like I figured with the fuck he said he played it for a little bit and was like
[00:38:58] I'm just not feeling a man and I was like what?
[00:39:01] But I'm yeah, I didn't bring Tommy up just to fucking roast or any day.
[00:39:06] Just a drag.
[00:39:07] It's just like it's like in the beginning because for anybody that's played it and hasn't
[00:39:14] gotten past like little bits in the beginning it gets like really, really fucking good once
[00:39:18] you start unlocking more and more shit like more weapons, more more aspects, more relics
[00:39:24] or trinkets whatever they're fucking called.
[00:39:27] More everything and then yeah it's a really fucking great game.
[00:39:30] One of my favorite games of all time actually.
[00:39:32] It's probably one of my top 10.
[00:39:34] Yeah, top five.
[00:39:35] Yeah, yeah.
[00:39:36] Yeah, I think top five for sure for me and maybe top three.
[00:39:40] Like it's up there.
[00:39:41] It's such a good game.
[00:39:43] Yeah.
[00:39:44] Jake, what's your first shot?
[00:39:45] Okay.
[00:39:46] So how should I do this list?
[00:39:47] I just hit you with like my top one and work down from there or whatever feels right
[00:39:51] to you.
[00:39:52] I did mine backwards.
[00:39:53] I should back.
[00:39:54] I'm going up to one.
[00:39:55] Yeah, you're going up to one.
[00:39:58] Okay, I'm gonna do that too.
[00:39:59] I'm gonna do that too.
[00:40:00] I'm starting off.
[00:40:01] Make the wait.
[00:40:02] Yeah, I'm gonna make the wait.
[00:40:03] I'm gonna make it for my number one who most played game over and over forever.
[00:40:08] Watch mode here.
[00:40:09] Presents.
[00:40:10] Yeah, so at the bottom of this number 10 burger.
[00:40:15] This game number 15 burger.
[00:40:19] Keeflat lettuce.
[00:40:21] Yeah, I would love it.
[00:40:23] So what?
[00:40:24] No, character that's based off of that.
[00:40:26] There is a character show.
[00:40:28] Yeah, okay.
[00:40:29] And we auto tune in this insane.
[00:40:31] Yeah.
[00:40:32] Okay, so even though why we're doing this.
[00:40:36] Just gross.
[00:40:38] Anyway, go ahead.
[00:40:40] Sorry.
[00:40:41] Thank you.
[00:40:43] That was rude.
[00:40:44] I was so fucking aggressive.
[00:40:46] I'm sorry.
[00:40:47] Starting at the bottom of the list, the game that I hate that I keep coming back to because
[00:40:52] I don't think I even like this game, but I keep trying to play it over and over because
[00:40:56] I'm trying to force myself to like it is Dragon's dog month.
[00:40:59] Oh really?
[00:41:01] Yes.
[00:41:02] So in theory, I should love the game.
[00:41:04] I love fantasy games.
[00:41:06] It's got dragons and griffins.
[00:41:07] It's an open world.
[00:41:08] You explore.
[00:41:09] You level up.
[00:41:11] And the combat system is really cool with climbing up on the beast and whooping their
[00:41:15] ass to death.
[00:41:16] And it has all this stuff, but every time I play it, I get real excited.
[00:41:23] And then an hour later, I'm running around this world and I'm like, fuck, I don't like
[00:41:27] this world.
[00:41:28] It's so bland and gross.
[00:41:29] Man, I just keep fighting goblins.
[00:41:31] Man, I walk over there and it's just the same goblins again.
[00:41:35] And there's like a, whether it's like a griffin.
[00:41:37] And I go fight them.
[00:41:38] And then like 30 hours into it, I have this diverse team because it's you and Ponds
[00:41:44] that you get to like trade out.
[00:41:48] And I get to a point where I just stop in the middle of a journey.
[00:41:51] I literally just stop.
[00:41:53] My party stops and I just stare into the horizon.
[00:41:58] And I look at my team and go, this ain't it man.
[00:42:03] This ain't it.
[00:42:04] I turn it off and uninstall it.
[00:42:06] And I've done that like five times.
[00:42:08] Yep, I do that too because every time I go and fight the first griffin, I remember
[00:42:13] that is Kathy Griffin.
[00:42:14] And I'm like, oh no.
[00:42:15] And I have done and saw it.
[00:42:17] She's gonna break my legs.
[00:42:19] Yeah, like I can't.
[00:42:21] Fuck you, Kathy Griffin.
[00:42:23] Oh, could you please stop attacking my wing?
[00:42:27] Could you please?
[00:42:28] I can't do a good Kathy Griffin sorry.
[00:42:30] No, right.
[00:42:31] Oh, I'm the result of a person.
[00:42:34] Oh, fuck it's Kathy Griffin.
[00:42:36] The red lady.
[00:42:37] I was thinking of the woman in misery.
[00:42:41] Oh, Kathy Bates.
[00:42:44] Kathy Bates.
[00:42:45] Kathy Bates.
[00:42:46] No, she's awesome.
[00:42:47] She's awesome.
[00:42:48] I love her.
[00:42:49] She's way less annoying.
[00:42:50] She's the sh-
[00:42:51] Yeah, we kill every griffin if she voiced him.
[00:42:53] She would fucking put her in the game and she would annihilate every creature in that
[00:42:57] game dude.
[00:42:58] Oh, absolutely.
[00:42:59] She ruined.
[00:43:00] Absolutely.
[00:43:01] Yeah, man.
[00:43:02] I don't have anything nice to say about it.
[00:43:03] And you know what?
[00:43:04] Dry games dogma too is coming out in March and it looks beautiful.
[00:43:08] And they've expanded on the combat and like every character because there's so many
[00:43:12] different vocations and ways to play the game.
[00:43:14] They're more fleshed out.
[00:43:15] And I bet I bet money that I'm gonna buy that game and I'm gonna play it and I'm gonna
[00:43:21] be so mad the whole time I play it.
[00:43:25] And it's I'm gonna do it all over again with that game.
[00:43:27] I know I'm gonna do it.
[00:43:28] I can't wait.
[00:43:31] Me neither.
[00:43:32] I mean, I can't wait for the game.
[00:43:33] Like I did really like dragon's dogma.
[00:43:36] I a lot of people do it has a big fan base.
[00:43:39] It has a rabid fan base and the community is still alive right now.
[00:43:45] The subreddit is there's a community there.
[00:43:49] So a lot of people love this game and I want to be part of the club.
[00:43:53] Somebody tell me how to like you.
[00:43:55] Tell me what I need to do to like you.
[00:43:58] It's okay to not like a game though.
[00:43:59] Like there's plenty of games that I mean, yeah, people love that I kind of don't fucking
[00:44:04] care about like hell divers.
[00:44:05] Two fuck I just could not care.
[00:44:09] Could not care less.
[00:44:10] What's a man never played it though.
[00:44:12] So you haven't even tried he's like fuck that.
[00:44:17] Well, I mean bugs.
[00:44:18] I have a PlayStation.
[00:44:19] I don't have a PS5 or a fucking PC powerful enough to run that fucking game.
[00:44:24] So like I just fucking don't care.
[00:44:27] I kind of love that we're like a big expensive really good game comes out, but you don't hear
[00:44:32] enough about it that you don't care.
[00:44:34] So you save all that money, you know, in that time, like sometimes I'm like, I'm glad
[00:44:38] that didn't hook me.
[00:44:39] That would have been a lot of time.
[00:44:41] That would have eaten up most my week.
[00:44:45] Oh shit.
[00:44:46] My next one is I'm going to go with Animal Crossing New Horizons.
[00:44:52] Wow.
[00:44:53] Okay.
[00:44:54] So, so first off, I'm a big, big fucking fat filthy slut for decorating homes.
[00:45:04] Yeah.
[00:45:05] I don't know what the fuck you saved in there.
[00:45:06] Oh, I thought you were going to say for indentured servitude.
[00:45:09] That too.
[00:45:10] I love contracts man.
[00:45:12] A little bit of B&M.
[00:45:13] Oh, yeah.
[00:45:14] Oh fuck man.
[00:45:15] Got to tattoo Tom.
[00:45:16] No, got my chest.
[00:45:17] I forget what the fuck the DLC.
[00:45:26] It's like the Happy Home Paradise.
[00:45:29] I think it's what this called.
[00:45:30] That's very close if it's not.
[00:45:32] Yeah, I really fucking love just going back into that every so often and just picking new
[00:45:39] new dumb little fuckers to make their homes or little beach homes.
[00:45:43] I'll pick like the dumbest fucking island.
[00:45:45] I'll pick some fucking desert island for someone's like barn home and then I'll just then
[00:45:52] then I'll actually take the inside of the house seriously and put like carefully take
[00:45:58] like an hour or fucking longer sometimes to put together like the best little house.
[00:46:02] And then I'll be like, Oh, I want a roommate and I'll be like, you fucking, you don't
[00:46:07] say you don't fucking say and then I'll add an extra fucking level to the house widen
[00:46:12] it add more shit to the house.
[00:46:14] So it fits like the other person's interests and likes and shit and yeah, I just keep coming
[00:46:21] back to that in the base game sometimes I do come back to I get pretty fucking overwhelmed
[00:46:28] with all the chores I assigned to myself in like the base game so I'll wake up and then
[00:46:33] I'll be like, Oh fuck.
[00:46:34] Oh, I have to go gather up all the fruits, dig up all the fucking fossils.
[00:46:39] I got talked to everybody, see what the fuck they want to do.
[00:46:43] Go check the fucking beach for any for any shells and fucking bottles and fucking God
[00:46:49] forbid if fucking goal of her is there I'm going to lose my shit.
[00:46:53] And yeah, Animal Crossing, New Horizons it's the DLCs what I keep coming back to for
[00:46:59] sure sometimes I'll check on my actual island and touch things up make it even fucking
[00:47:05] stupider than it already is but the DLCs where it's at it's fun.
[00:47:10] You know what's funny that reminds me of Stardew Valley because I was thinking the same
[00:47:15] thing.
[00:47:16] Well, there's an element there because me and my wife we need a game to play together
[00:47:19] because she's not a game star do Valley is the top co-op game with your wife if she's
[00:47:23] not a gamer game.
[00:47:25] And so one of the things you encounter when you get to like the mid game is you start
[00:47:29] to get mad about your day.
[00:47:32] You get up and it's you know, you forgot to water some plants and you're going over
[00:47:36] your old pissed off like fucking bullshit I don't got time for this I gotta get in the
[00:47:40] mine.
[00:47:41] Fuck it's already 9 AM.
[00:47:43] I was supposed to be selling geodes to the flex.
[00:47:47] Like I have stressed out over Stardew Valley is like I need to get shit done.
[00:47:53] Why am I always so tired?
[00:47:54] I never have enough time like real life means is getting projected into the game.
[00:48:00] Like what even are my dreams anymore do I even want to own a farm that game flies too
[00:48:04] close to the sun man.
[00:48:06] It gets too it gets too close to real life it does and they people people always I guess
[00:48:13] categorize that shit as like a cozy game and it's cozy for a little bit when you're
[00:48:18] like building up your farm from nothing to like kind of something.
[00:48:21] And then once it does become something it's like chores dude and then like I as I slowly
[00:48:30] put the gun up to my temple.
[00:48:32] I'm like all wait but that was a suicide joke but I yeah.
[00:48:39] Yeah.
[00:48:40] What no yeah.
[00:48:42] Yeah, I know what it would have been cowboy what's your next pick?
[00:48:47] Okay let's go up.
[00:48:50] So I'm going to start saying I like games that I don't know that they're fun they're
[00:48:58] super engaging.
[00:49:00] I basically like to red line my brain if my brain was an engine I like to just have that
[00:49:05] needle flicking at the end of the red lines and so one of them is factorial it's a piece
[00:49:11] of game.
[00:49:12] So casual gamers may not know this it is a game about automation you mine some minerals
[00:49:18] out of the earth to make iron you put that into a steel plate and you make a factory.
[00:49:23] And now the factory makes the plates and then the plates allow you to make other factories
[00:49:28] to make the factories to make the plates and those make the things that make the thing
[00:49:31] that make the thing and eventually you have like flying robots that just construct your
[00:49:36] base for you based on automated like scripts and stuff.
[00:49:41] And it's every time I'm doing it I'm at 100 miles per hour in my brain I'm like okay
[00:49:47] I'm low on copper so I need to go here this needs to route here once that's done it's
[00:49:52] got to go over here and if I do this I can finally upgrade like it's it just compounds.
[00:49:57] I don't know if you guys there's a scene in Malcolm in the middle that I love yes it's
[00:50:02] the scene where he's a fix yeah yeah fix the drawer he comes home and he has like the
[00:50:08] light bulbs out or something so he does that's where to get a screwdriver and then the the
[00:50:13] drawer squeaks so he goes and gets like the glue to fix that but then he's out of glue so
[00:50:19] it goes to the store and it gets to the point where he gets back and he's working on the car
[00:50:23] and the wife is like what are you doing and he's like I'm trying to fix the light bulb
[00:50:28] it's like he has this nested set of tasks and I fucking love that I just I just love having
[00:50:36] what I call this spaghettification of my own mind and so yeah it's just it's amazing it's
[00:50:42] it's just if you want your brain going 100 miles per hour while you play a game that's the game to do
[00:50:47] it nice I uh so it's like it's like cookie clicker but but more like like it's active cookie clicker
[00:50:55] it has to say there we go there we go you got it it's like cookie clicker but you do something
[00:51:00] but you're the cookie yeah you're being close and you're being clicked click me please
[00:51:08] I don't know if that metaphor pants out but I'm new man it does restore click me daddy click me daddy
[00:51:15] I'm a cookie down a shirt on a bumper sticker bumper sticker yeah dude that's just a
[00:51:21] yeah dude oh fuck JB what's what's your next game man I'm gonna go my next one is going to be
[00:51:29] the VR title that I come back to the moon oh and that is blade and sorcery I oh I don't know if
[00:51:38] all of you have played this game but it's no it's just a hack and slash sandbox game where you just
[00:51:45] you let out all your most chaotic thoughts into another dark passenger yeah you just like
[00:51:53] you're like I want to kill everyone like just everyone in the world using hidden blades from
[00:51:59] us assets pretty and you just do it and you're like I want to spawn somebody and then I throw them
[00:52:04] into a well and watch them screen look at them as the as the light leaves their eyes and then I
[00:52:10] like this game well this is fun but let me actually take two shields instead and I'm gonna literally
[00:52:16] beat somebody to death with my shields because the best offense is a good defense you know what I'm
[00:52:23] saying and then you just you just beat him to the three and then another guy comes coming and
[00:52:27] you're like I'm gonna I'm gonna throw the body of this other person I killed at you to knock you
[00:52:31] down to the ground and then I'm gonna punch you in the face until you die really so this is a game
[00:52:36] I come back to a lot it's uh you know I think it's a cathartic you know what it is yeah uh JB makes
[00:52:44] his kids uh go to their rooms for hours at a time while he slam dances in the living room while
[00:52:49] he plays this game just while it's while and out there's why I'm sitting the kitchen crying on a
[00:52:55] second glass of wine oh I actually close off my child because of this game I literally whipped Jack
[00:53:01] in the face with the controller once I didn't know he was in the room but I did I was surrounded
[00:53:06] I was surrounded and I had to live I had to live and he had to die for me to live he's still to die
[00:53:13] it is life or death yeah oh yeah with Star Wars mods so I got to be like Darth Maul and have
[00:53:18] like a double-bladed lightsaber and just lights off limbs and stuff yeah if you if you ever see the
[00:53:25] TikTok of somebody throwing Thor's hammer at a dude and they fly a billion miles away that's
[00:53:31] that's blatant sorcery that's the game where they mod in like weapons and they do crazy shit or
[00:53:35] lightsabers yeah there's everything spider man like the spider man dude yeah it's so good
[00:53:43] fuck yeah yeah we're always slap somebody's butt but that's also bone lab but he always like has the
[00:53:48] little boy Timmy and then you like slaps everyone's butt before he kills him which is interesting
[00:53:54] but that's what it is that's the TikTok it's the right thing to do it's the right thing that you know
[00:53:59] a little part in gift is what I would call it speaking of slapping butts hey Drake what's your next one
[00:54:06] oh this is a real butt slaver here um so we're moving up we're moving up the list from the game
[00:54:14] that I don't hate but I kind of hate that I keep coming back to it and I will be rabid while I play
[00:54:22] it and then I will lose interest 100 percent I do a 180 but this happens once or twice a year
[00:54:28] it's world of warcraft so anytime anytime a big um you know update to an expansion or new
[00:54:35] expansion happens I am fucking in I dive deep and I play it for several months
[00:54:42] I um I get to the new level cap I unlock the new gear I do the raise I do all this stuff and
[00:54:46] I love it I try out new characters and I'm like I'm loving life this is so fun and then
[00:54:51] the gameplay loop reveals itself yeah and my fun goes from 100 to zero
[00:55:00] and I'm happy that I don't fall into the trap of like wanting to play this for like
[00:55:04] this is a game that playing people know life but I'm glad that I don't because my brain suddenly
[00:55:10] will go yo this is the loop man you're pressing the same five buttons over and over every day
[00:55:15] hmm and I'm like oh oh I am and then I immediately just I immediately uninstall it and I'm like
[00:55:22] yeah I'm done but then they'll come up with something new or there'll be a new mount that's
[00:55:25] really pretty and I'm like I'm back in the game baby until you're bored like it's it's very
[00:55:30] love hey you know how people can get into relationships with somebody that they are not meant to be
[00:55:35] with that they're just so sexy and it's just so nasty but they're so bad for you your life is a
[00:55:44] fucking mess when you're with them I guess that's me and wow I guess that's how I feel about it
[00:55:49] what I'm there I'm there man but then I have to run I have to get away I feel that man thank you
[00:55:55] that mean that that sounds just like my pick smite fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck so
[00:56:05] oh man so my brother in law and I and occasionally a few other friends of mine will play some
[00:56:12] smite together and it'll be it'll be this like almost nightly thing it'll be like oh dude I'll
[00:56:19] be on it like 8 30 okay cool I get off at 9 I'll hop on and we'll play a few matches and it'll
[00:56:26] start off great it'll start off a great night and then then it'll quickly devolve into us
[00:56:32] just getting fucking steamrolled by the enemy team we get mad yeah like we'll not only be mad at
[00:56:37] the enemy team then we'll get mad at each other and then we'll be like well fuck I'm just not
[00:56:41] gonna play anymore um yeah smite for those who have never played it it's it's a boba it's uh your
[00:56:48] team against the enemy team uh there's different modes are the one to be played the most is this
[00:56:53] 3v3 mode called joust and fuck when it's when it's me and my brother in law with like some
[00:57:02] rando against an enemy and enemy fuck an enemy team of three we somehow always get the worst
[00:57:08] fucking rando's on the planet they either uh they either don't pick a character that synergizes
[00:57:15] with the ones that we picked they either uh they they don't fucking do anything fucking smart they
[00:57:21] just don't know how to play the game I don't know how to explain it all very well but uh yeah smite
[00:57:26] it's great like we'll we'll play it fucking almost nightly for like two three or more months straight
[00:57:34] and then we'll get burnt down and stop um then we'll see a new cool character coming out or like a new
[00:57:40] cool battle pass or crossover being added because they've done crossovers with like
[00:57:45] uh Ninja Turtles transformers uh Avatar the last airbender they've done all sorts of shit
[00:57:51] we'll see something cool we'll jump back into the game for a little bit and then we'll be like oh wait
[00:57:56] this we're still this still pisses us off like my fucking heart rate is spiking my blood pressure
[00:58:01] I'm gonna fucking die playing this game uh but yeah then we'll stop and yeah we just keep coming
[00:58:07] back to it every so often smite I am a fan of moba's in general so the next time you want to
[00:58:17] you know hate yourself I am down to hate myself if you let's go play I love moba's I played
[00:58:24] a little bit of smite not enough to like get good I would say but I like the whole aesthetic right
[00:58:31] because it's a bunch of gods from mythology yeah just playing is them in in like a moba format
[00:58:38] which is kind of good well and it's it's still third person over the shoulder ain't it it is yeah
[00:58:43] yeah it's like the the major selling point yeah every shot is a skill shot yeah basically yeah
[00:58:48] yeah exactly yeah there's no there's no auto oh yes some characters have skills that auto
[00:58:53] way but almost all the time it'll be yeah you'll have to aim it yourself I guess the same also
[00:58:58] goes for let's just make it another mo well I had another moba into this to Pokemon unite I really
[00:59:06] like I like it I like everything about it except for the people that play it because I'm totally
[00:59:14] certain that like most of the people that play are little fucking kids that don't know how to play a moba
[00:59:18] and it'll it'll be like me calling out oh you know I'll do bottom lane you know I've run a
[00:59:23] they're not bottom lane top lane I do a pretty mean fucking what's his name crustal I do a pretty
[00:59:28] fucking me crustal or man a swine I'm the I'm like I'm gonna take yeah dude and I'll be on the top
[00:59:34] lane and my fucking carry or whatever they're fucked they're called in Pokemon unite there'll just
[00:59:40] be some dumbass who picks some fucking stupid pick and then they won't be in my lane at all
[00:59:45] of me me two v one yes and then I'll just oh my gosh and then I'll just fucking hate the game for
[00:59:51] the rest of the night turn it off and install it especially if you're like building to be like a
[00:59:56] support tank and you're like yeah you're you're carry just disappears and you're like well if I
[01:00:01] would have skilled myself to be a carry like maybe exactly impact right now but I had no idea you
[01:00:06] were gonna be trash exactly do yeah with I mean with with friends and with the team you can coordinate
[01:00:13] with it's it's pretty fucking great it's great to like steamroll and a team of five fucking
[01:00:20] random children just annihilate them but yeah yeah yeah it's probably not children it's probably me
[01:00:27] because I played it for a while and I was really surprised at how off I felt all the time playing
[01:00:33] it play with me fuck what place do you well I had a problem my problem with it is losing at it felt
[01:00:41] really bad compared to most games because the idea of getting my ass kicked by like a squirtle or
[01:00:46] something just felt bad like the squirrel I felt like a dweeb getting frustrated at like I'm
[01:00:53] walking up to a char as like a little charmander or something and it whoops my ass yeah and I can't
[01:00:59] help but like get extra mad at that I'm like I gotta just poke them on it shouldn't be this hard
[01:01:04] I mean I have like an 80 something percent win rate on Eldegas so I can yeah baby let's do it
[01:01:10] oh dude I forget my fault for not taking it seriously honestly fuck I wish I knew what my
[01:01:15] fucking win rate was with me I'm a swan me I'm a swan is my main for sure I fucking he's so
[01:01:20] fucking good dude cowboy what's your next pick all right we're gonna go into road light genres here
[01:01:28] yes yes which is my bread and butter I love randomization I love all that I'm going
[01:01:33] to I love you bro I don't think you guys know JB and Jake we we did an episode with
[01:01:42] Rotado in it in a couple of other things but I seeded that game because I had been playing it
[01:01:46] way before thanks to jorbs and then way after I play I I've level five every character on
[01:01:54] brotado I've done everything there's something about that game I love them what I would call
[01:02:03] Excel spreadsheet games yeah because like behind it it's just numbers adding up like the gameplay
[01:02:09] isn't skillshots I'm doing great input you're just entering in numbers correctly and getting a
[01:02:14] large output which is like your damage or whatever and then winning and brotado is like a really good
[01:02:20] game for that just like picking the right items because it's a for anybody does know it's an arena
[01:02:25] roguelite battle or you just get dropped into a square full of enemies you pick the right weapons
[01:02:30] and auto shoots at them just like vampire survivors you just get better better you snowball you win
[01:02:36] and there's something about that loop of just yeah clicking things and winning click a button
[01:02:41] add the math win I don't know it's like relaxing but not it's yeah it's the same essence of like
[01:02:48] moba's right because it's like yes start off as like a garbage little man and then at the end
[01:02:54] you're a god destroying worlds great fucking comparison yep yep yep I'd even compare to like
[01:03:00] any game with like a death spiral like chess chess once you start taking pieces yeah you're
[01:03:07] snowballing your winning you're you've made the correct choices and you feel like a fucking iq 500
[01:03:13] yeah that's that's one thing that I love about uh what are my favorite genres is like a deck building
[01:03:20] roguelike i'd love breaking the fucking game with those like one of the newest i think it just came
[01:03:26] out uh balatro belatio uh yeah everybody is playing that dude it's it's so fun to break that
[01:03:33] game and just like rack up multipliers and ship but yeah no i i get what you're where you're coming
[01:03:38] from with rotado hilly i thought about getting into that i'm a little worried though oh it's good
[01:03:43] it's good i mean you prepare to lose many hours of your life but it's it's good it's just poker
[01:03:49] it's but it's good it gets it's pretty fucking way more to it yeah it'll be like so
[01:03:56] yeah yeah yeah look into it look into it uh before we get into the rest of our picks how about we
[01:04:03] take an ad break i don't love that break that red yeah we're not gonna read
[01:04:10] we're money exactly we'll be right back

[01:09:54] nail thumbtack your finger whatever what happens when those get dull what do you what do you
[01:10:00] what do you do with those you get introducing the everything sharpener i guess is what we'll call
[01:10:06] it's uh it can sharpen any object known demand kind into into a fine sharp point
[01:10:14] capable of puncturing anything or even writing i guess if you want to uh
[01:10:19] fuck a lava lamp you get sharpened that if you want to your fucking toes gone for bed you want pointy

[01:11:02] it's gonna be used for one goddamn thing i don't know the only thing i need to sharpen is my mind
[01:11:10] oh you know the youtube short music that plays behind every clip of like a dude like being a
[01:11:17] misogynist you play that right there i the only thing i need to sharpen is my mind because
[01:11:23] because if you sharpen your penis that's baiting it sounds like you're giving yourself a lobotomy
[01:11:30] if you're shaving off sections of your brain that's a lobotomy jp yeah you just don't understand
[01:11:35] what it takes to to operate at this level man like like i'm out here making a lobotomy of
[01:11:41] pensions and money i get all the money and i get all the women i get all the decisions
[01:11:49] get all the decisions people come to me and they're like what shoes should i wear it i said
[01:11:53] it doesn't matter because my mind is so sharp i'm an alpha male i'm over here i'm making choices
[01:11:59] you know i step out on the sidewalk left or right i go left i don't even think about it i just
[01:12:04] start walking you know fuck that i see a guy i see a baby i hit it you know i'm out here making
[01:12:09] executive decisions that is the alpha mentality thanks to the dick sharpener 5000 what was it called
[01:12:16] the everything sharpener the everything sharpener thing you know what hey i go to i go to a restaurant
[01:12:22] i order salad i noticed that i get a i get a whole fucking carrot it isn't or i guess not a whole
[01:12:28] sorry a baby carrot my bad i'm meant to say a baby carrot okay i get a whole carrot i'm
[01:12:35] you know whole carrot in my salad i notice that fuckers dull that's old and dull you know what i
[01:12:39] sharpened i sharpened it to a fine point and i fucking stabbed the waiter in the hand like
[01:12:44] like dude this isn't as sharp as i wanted to be uh making out your making decisions i'm
[01:12:50] the alpha male and you stare directly in the eyes as you pee on his shoes that too established dominance
[01:12:56] he's being honest with sharpened too you got to keep through the everything sharpener so it kind of
[01:13:02] stings when it hits him yeah how would you even pee if your dick was sharpened like do you think it
[01:13:07] would it'd be like a like a spray oh my god how are we into it and power knives
[01:13:12] piss knives fly out the other end because it's sharpened your piss and you can basically kill anybody
[01:13:18] with it this is this is turning into like jojo's bizarre adventure now oh i forgot they put that in
[01:13:24] there yeah the oh the piss stand yeah yeah the shit night piss stand if you're uh fucking good like a
[01:13:33] USB thumb drive sharpen it hide in your sleeve take the work kill somebody uh get a copy of get a
[01:13:41] used copy of madden NFL fuck it 97 i don't give a shit sharpen it throw it kill somebody it's just an
[01:13:48] all-round murder machine yeah thanks you can also take like you can also take like a normally dressed man
[01:13:54] and like just boom sharp dress man boom sharp dress man oh my god crazy easy top invented it did you
[01:14:00] know that the sharpened easy cc top man sharpen those beards nine nine out of ten inmates approve
[01:14:11] they love the everything sharpener oh thank you everything sharpener for sponsoring this episode
[01:14:19] oh
[01:14:33] hey we're back oh JB yeah JB what's your next pick i'm gonna go with my next pick
[01:14:41] is a bit of a sleeper pick but it's path of exile oh okay okay this is the Diablo 3 that people
[01:14:50] actually wanted this is the spiritual successor to Diablo 2 it is free to play all of the uh sort
[01:14:58] of monetization is all just to support the developer you get some fancy clothes and stuff but
[01:15:03] no pay to win right but it's like a true Diablo 2 successor and it just it hits on the same level
[01:15:09] that Diablo 2 always did which is like you start off it's the same thing with like moba's and it's
[01:15:14] the same thing with these sort of deck builders and it's the same thing we've been talking about all
[01:15:17] along which is the thing that people really care about which is you start off this little baby on
[01:15:23] a beach and then you grab a thing then you start beating up zombies and then you become a god and
[01:15:28] you destroy gods at the end of it and it's just it's just a lot of fun and it's there's a lot of
[01:15:34] passion that goes behind it and I think the developers they have this mentality which I wish that
[01:15:40] most developers had which is if something is not fun get rid of it and if players are doing
[01:15:48] something in order to subvert game mechanics lean in and give them what they want right so every step
[01:15:56] of the way so there was this whole I don't want to get too nerdy right now on a video game podcast
[01:16:02] of all places haven't but have been forbidden clutch my pearls but there were there was a situation
[01:16:07] where people would stack these different flasks that they all gave you certain abilities and you
[01:16:12] would have to real quick hit like one through five or one through six to get all these abilities all at
[01:16:17] once and they were doing these crazy things and and the developers said I'm just going to give you a
[01:16:22] button to drink all your flasks at once right this is the sort of thing that you don't get from
[01:16:28] AAA developers nowadays and and it's something that can only happen with a game like path of
[01:16:35] the example and I just keep coming back to it because it's a fun game it's enjoyable it scratches
[01:16:40] itches and the developers are like really good people and good at their jobs nice don't you hate that
[01:16:47] one like a AAA game has this bug that makes their game fun and then on principle they patch it out
[01:16:54] yeah I don't even want to fucking play your game anymore you get rid of my punch dash just because
[01:16:58] you didn't intend it right yeah imagine if a smash brothers remove the wave dash right yes so important
[01:17:08] that fucking skill trees insane holy yeah if you want to operate on all cylinders uh that's
[01:17:15] the game for you if you want to this game you will watch a youtube video and I I shit you not you'll
[01:17:21] watch a 20 minute youtube video where they never show a video like any gameplay and it's all theory
[01:17:27] crafting in a in a google doc and and they're just showing all these like excel formulas and they're
[01:17:33] like so yeah I'm like I'm really excited for the damage output of this potential build and I'm
[01:17:38] I'm curious to see what it'll do and it'll have like a million views you know what I'm saying like
[01:17:44] that's the game I'm saying turbo nerds and I love it I love fuck heart Jake what you got for us
[01:17:53] we're gonna go into games that I actually like now so no more shit on games uh up next on my list is
[01:18:01] a game from when I was younger oh fifth and sixth grade Jake oh nerdy before he was cool Jake
[01:18:10] with his glasses and his acne oh fuck it only have a friend but wait there's a friend right
[01:18:19] there in a cute little red and white ball that's right it's a Pokemon baby yeah I am I'm 100%
[01:18:28] a I mean is there a word I know there's gen one is there a word for gen one and two
[01:18:33] I'm a poke a thing am I a toozie am I gen toozie I don't know I don't know the name for it but yeah
[01:18:38] the first two January the first two the first two the first two generations of Pokemon are near
[01:18:47] and dear to my heart so much so that like I even have Paris Paris act and cat or be on my shoulder dude
[01:18:53] yeah and as a tattoo not in real life and I played the absolute shit out of these games when they
[01:19:01] were new and I remember when the anime came out and I was obsessed I remember when the basic uh
[01:19:10] the base set of the trading card game came out fucking obsessed I traded out a kangus con for
[01:19:16] four basic Pokemon at that time and I'm still mad about it in fact I have more stuff to be
[01:19:23] mad about Pokemon fucking Brett Moses yeah you're out there I'm calling you out again he's still my
[01:19:29] Jolteon on the playground once fucking Brett fucking Brett Moses give me my Jolteon back but um I
[01:19:38] I've played every generation of Pokemon I still go back to it I don't even know if I really like
[01:19:42] it anymore the past few the past few um entries into the franchise haven't really scratched the
[01:19:49] edge for me like the old ones did yeah because I'm older I don't know well okay for the exception
[01:19:57] I love legends Archeus like um raining down Pokeball health fury on poor little baby Pokemon on
[01:20:04] the beach was so exciting and fun I loved that but um yeah man like whenever I get nowadays whenever
[01:20:12] I get the itch to play Pokemon I run to my 3ds and I play red and blue or golden silver on that
[01:20:22] like it's it's it's such comfort food to me I can still hum all the songs I still love how janky
[01:20:30] generation one is with the broken moves and accidentally making the psychic Pokemon over powered
[01:20:38] and just everything about it I I love it it's just I don't know it scratches every itch for me
[01:20:45] it's like it's it has a special place in my brain where it lives now and it will never go away I don't
[01:20:50] think nope it's inoperable it's like a tumor it's a tumor that's what it is one day there will be
[01:21:00] a good Pokemon game again and on that day I will die happy the one we all talked about is kids when
[01:21:08] Park Pokemon first came out and we'd all be on the playground could you imagine Pokemon like in
[01:21:13] real life like you can see the Pokemon in the grass crawling and Archeus tried to do that but man
[01:21:19] it did yeah it wasn't our childhood dream it was the one day dealing with the limitations of
[01:21:24] the switch hardware and two dealing with the limitations of the game freak developers I'm sorry
[01:21:29] it's all the developers man like switch can run breath of the wild in tears of the kingdom
[01:21:34] time yeah it does though it doesn't well enough that it takes zero enjoyment away from me
[01:21:41] it works good enough it does I just want Nintendo to release like a real contender with
[01:21:50] consums yeah or some sort of online service or something where developers can really show what
[01:21:58] they can do with Pokemon I think Powerworld is the closest we've come to at some point I think
[01:22:05] that's the reason why Powerworld is so successful because people are so goddamn hungry for a fun
[01:22:12] really fun Pokemon game again yeah right scarlet and violet tried to open up the world
[01:22:17] and it kind of did like I even played and beat those man I don't know if I liked any of it but I did
[01:22:24] you know it comes a competitor like Powerworld I think that's the only reason Powerworld successful
[01:22:28] it's in early access it's janky as shit but it offered more of a real world with more interaction
[01:22:33] with your with your pals with your Pokemon people are fucking hungry for a for an amazing
[01:22:39] experience with that franchise but I don't know will they ever do it they make too much money with
[01:22:42] it the way it is now so I don't know yeah I feel that I uh my favorite my favorite generation so far
[01:22:51] is uh it's three like uh three sapphire yeah there would be sapphire emerald for sure is my favorite
[01:22:58] though that one I've been played over and over and over and over it is so much so that's like
[01:23:06] as a kid I replayed it so many times I eventually went and got the the action replay
[01:23:10] so I could start yeah like adding in Pokemon that I couldn't normally get because there were so
[01:23:16] many you have to get from like events like uh mu and celibi and I forgot the other ones but
[01:23:25] in gen 3 was it shaman was shaman in gen 3 no that was four that was four okay yep yeah yeah
[01:23:32] Pokemon it's great man I feel yeah it's uh I yeah scrollin violent was a fucking gigantic letdown
[01:23:40] like it was cool at first but then you you do kind of start to see all the shit that fell through
[01:23:47] the cracks like how every single town looks exactly the same yeah yeah yeah yeah in the pop-ins
[01:23:53] and trotious it it was it was so poorly optimized like the windmills running at three FPS in
[01:23:58] the background yeah and like literal just NPCs who walk around on the same path would would materialize
[01:24:05] 20 feet in front of you right right so bad god and it had such potential because if that game ran
[01:24:11] really really really fluid I think a lot of people would be like man this is really good yeah
[01:24:16] it was such yeah I think the best Pokemon was yellow like how can you be surfing Pikachu man like
[01:24:26] Pokemon yellow was a banger it was just red blue but you had a surfing Pikachu that's true
[01:24:34] also yeah actually yeah you had to get all three starters too oh yes you could yeah you get
[01:24:41] a Venus or from someone in Cerulean city I think they're not really so Boba so Charmander oh remember
[01:24:49] we get the other ones but yeah you get all three starters along with Pikachu and then what like
[01:24:55] did you follow your round oh and you could pet him and he had like and it came out I don't I don't
[01:25:00] know if any of you remember this but there was like a pedometer a Pikachu pedometer that you could
[01:25:05] and he's had a little Pikachu like me like a little pet yeah and you could click the buttons
[01:25:11] and feed him and you could walk with him and I used to throw him onto the dryer when the dryer was
[01:25:15] going and like bounce over like I wish I could go back to those days man on a couple of
[01:25:26] months ago now what are you talking about no it's not the same yeah it's not the same as the phone
[01:25:30] to the fan this is the night those man tape your phone to the fan and hatch those eggs that's true
[01:25:39] this will be my last one because I kind of just let loose the Pokemon there so my my last one
[01:25:45] is recently kind of remaster it's a game but I've put many many hours into back in its hey day
[01:25:53] pocket card jockey I'm a fucking junkie for pocket card yeah I heard this is that on the tree yes
[01:25:59] yeah yeah so it's it's it's it's solitaire horse racing and like an RPG all in one so basically
[01:26:09] it's it's these like cartoony cute sea little graphics and you're you're a jockey you just race
[01:26:15] horse horses but so so during a race you'll play like different rounds of solitaire and depending
[01:26:23] on how well you do in these different games of solitaire that'll that'll determine how much energy
[01:26:28] your horse has how much stamina it has basically building up everything for like the perfect
[01:26:34] what is it the final stretch I guess of the race like you're basically building up all this energy
[01:26:39] all this stamina you're building all this up for like the final stretch and uh and there's
[01:26:45] also different little little power ups you can get sometimes like like a boost card that'll give you
[01:26:51] like a boost during the final stretch little carrot cards for like a boost of stamina all sorts
[01:26:57] of other stuff but yeah then after a race depending on how many uh I think you can pick up
[01:27:02] a little horseshoe cards it gives you XP but you'll also get XP from depending on what what place
[01:27:07] you get in the race you'll get XP your horse will level up it'll get more stamina more speed
[01:27:14] I might learn a new skill uh each like breed of horse also has different like like passive abilities
[01:27:22] as well too like if they're like the first one you get I think it's passive is like when it's in
[01:27:27] between two rival horses it it'll be able to have more energy or whatever and then when a horse
[01:27:33] reaches like a certain age you you've let it loose on the farm then use breed horses and you can
[01:27:38] create like the perfect horse and there's different breeds of horses they're all pretty cool
[01:27:43] they have pocket card jockey is on the switch now it's a little bit different because
[01:27:49] you don't have that bottom screen like with the stylus and all that shit but it plays
[01:27:53] fucking smoothly they add a whole bunch of extra shit that 3ds doesn't have
[01:27:59] it's great but it it sounds like the main gameplay is still solitary right oh yeah yeah you're
[01:28:05] just matching fucking seven eighths ninths and tens and a lot shit but um yeah there I mean
[01:28:11] there's a lot of strategy to it as well too not just in solitary but like and how you move your
[01:28:15] horse around the track to like the what are they called uh uh the sweet spots comfort zones
[01:28:23] yeah different like comfort zones like uh if you're in like the middle you'll build up a lot of
[01:28:28] energy and then as you go out of your your level three comfort zone you'll yeah yeah see I'm
[01:28:34] just impressed that they made solitary fun it looks I look at it looks fun it's awesome it's only
[01:28:39] like seven bucks I think too it's like it's an old version of balaro or whatever baltro because
[01:28:45] it's making a boring old card game fun again exactly yeah yeah it's it's really fucking good
[01:28:51] and uh they added online multiplayer as well so like you and four friends can can race against all
[01:28:57] these fucking computer computer controlled characters and yeah it's it's awesome yeah yeah cowboy
[01:29:04] what's what's your next one oh hey let's let's jump to the top of the list wait yeah I was
[01:29:10] so excited how much time do we got do we have to wrap it fire because you said you sleepy you don't
[01:29:14] want you to fall asleep in the office oh no no we can do like one last one like uh you guys
[01:29:19] can do your last ones and then they'll end it oh yeah I'm jumping to the top uh question
[01:29:25] for everyone have you ever felt deep shame in the middle of the night yeah all the time every night
[01:29:31] of my life yes and it's like have you ever said to yourself you said you wouldn't do this again
[01:29:37] you promised oh yeah that's you well do I have the game for you introducing rocket league
[01:29:48] oh the soccer car game bear with me because you're asking why why is this a problem why is
[01:29:56] this game a problem for you it's it's a fucking problem it's got a fucking lifestyle it's
[01:30:01] gotten in the way of my marriage it's caused problem with me and my kids so what I call this game
[01:30:06] is heroin um which if you've ever heard the drug that sounds delicious well because the problem
[01:30:16] was it was too equatable so it's um the thing about this game is it's very physical the physics on
[01:30:22] it are very good so if you've seen a high level play or what's called the RLCS the Rocket League
[01:30:27] Championship series these people are so mechanically impressive they are like acro bats in the sky
[01:30:35] playing this game um and so the physics is so good that it feels like real gravity real physics
[01:30:41] it's all in there so when you get good at it it's like getting good at a physical skill like juggling
[01:30:46] and it feels really good like it goes straight to your brain and it feeds the fucking dopamine
[01:30:51] every time you do something cool um I have about 7000 hours I think seven or nine thousand somewhere
[01:30:58] in that and I have uninstalled probably about eleven times and my most recent install was for this
[01:31:07] episode here where I was uh I think I was maybe four months sober or something like that
[01:31:13] off of Rocket League and I reinstalled I reinstalled the game for a single night I played it
[01:31:21] and I stayed up on a work night to like one to two a.m. I think I finally fell asleep about 230
[01:31:26] I wake up at 430 okay so this is my thing games that we keep coming back to this is bad
[01:31:35] I don't know if other people out there have this but this is a game where you know how people talk
[01:31:41] about the uh the addiction cycles of mobile games and predatory games and all that not that it's
[01:31:47] a predatory game but this is like the brain brain chemistry they're talking about yeah I am so addicted
[01:31:53] that I will sit there and play it while I yell at myself in my head to stop
[01:31:59] good lord and so ten out of ten recommend it great game tons of fun and that is my time
[01:32:04] I mean that's the video game what's the video game equivalent to like methadone
[01:32:08] like what is what's what's Rocket League's methadone I don't know I need it maybe card
[01:32:13] jacket you were telling me to get a pack of hot wheels which I thought was
[01:32:18] there are dollar up he's it's not the point Jake
[01:32:24] it's like uh it's like somebody getting off a heroin you're like just drink the soda when
[01:32:27] you feel like shooting up you yourself a nice sunny D just have yourself a nice sunny you know
[01:32:34] the fuck it true have you tried suckers
[01:32:38] Jesus fucking Christ tried those like those harsh abrasive ass drugs for fucking sugar fucking
[01:32:46] fucking sunny I'm gonna tell you right now I installed it I was playing and I was having fun
[01:32:52] for the first 20 minutes and I went to go take a drink my hand was shaking from the adrenaline
[01:32:58] because I'm not supposed to be playing it and there's such a visceral visceral reaction
[01:33:03] that my hand was like shaking because I was so full of adrenaline it's bad video games can be
[01:33:09] bad addictions yeah fucking boy this isn't really an addiction but like um smite sometimes the matches
[01:33:17] can take a really long fucking time like if you're playing a conquest mode uh we had a match
[01:33:23] take up to like I think an hour and a half one time and I had to pee so bad I thought my fucking
[01:33:28] kidneys were gonna pop it's wild and you pissed yourself no I held the entire time I was waiting
[01:33:36] I was waiting I was waiting for a jug the college I fucking don't like I was so I just a lot of words
[01:33:42] I just let her rip and one the match you know like an alpha male like dumb and dumber hey call
[01:33:47] back to the beginning of the episode dumb and dumber let go man it's really warm it's warm
[01:33:56] JB what's your next one man man I'm looking at the two I'm looking at the two and they're
[01:34:02] they both are contenders all right so we've talked a lot about mova so I'm gonna give a special
[01:34:09] honor to Dota 2 yeah Dota 2 is just my it's my game man I've been playing it for I've been playing
[01:34:20] since Dota 1 so I'm ex-military and in Afghanistan we I went somewhere that had internet and I had
[01:34:27] a thumb drive and I got Dota 1 like Warcraft 3 the Dota 1 uh and I brought it back to our little
[01:34:36] base and I played Dota with a bunch of dudes like I've been playing this game for so long and I just
[01:34:45] stop like I just love it so much and it and it makes me angry because I'm not I don't do well
[01:34:53] with toxicity and if anybody's ever played a mova you know that the first game you ever launched
[01:34:58] into somebody's gonna be flaming you like it's just it's just part of the experience uh in a way
[01:35:04] so I don't play with yeah I I don't play with people I don't like I don't play
[01:35:11] with randoms so I only play with people I know which means I don't play very often um but when
[01:35:17] I do play with randoms it's always in bot matches so I'll I'll go into a bot match where it's
[01:35:22] five normal people against five bots and then I'll make friends with the people in the bot matches
[01:35:28] and then we will don't play regular games together but I just I've tried to play solo queue
[01:35:34] in every mova that exists and it takes about three games before I go
[01:35:41] I'm I'm 30 plus years old what am I doing my life I don't I don't need to take
[01:35:48] like this sort of flag from you know high schoolers it's just I don't know it but at the same time
[01:35:57] it's like what Kavie was saying it's it's my it's my crack it's I can't stop mobas are they hit
[01:36:04] everything in my brain my game my brain chemistry and mobas are so in sync that is just it's a problem
[01:36:13] it's a problem fuck yep yep 100% agree dude it's and they hook you with all these new characters
[01:36:21] they bring out all the time and the new skins and shit new event they'll be able to have limited
[01:36:25] time skin you can never ever get it ever again but then it's like oh what's for my boy cthulhu I
[01:36:31] have to get it yeah the new skin for cthulhu baby yeah and the whole ego ecosystem where it's like
[01:36:38] oh you're not a top dog unless you got the cool skins yep exactly so you gotta buy them
[01:36:43] and I'm out every year I'll watch the international which is their big tournament about millions
[01:36:49] and millions of dollars on the line and of course they always announce a new character that every
[01:36:54] internet yeah every single one so you're all hyped up you're watching the best players in the world
[01:36:59] just dominate you're like this looks so amazing new character oh my gosh it's gonna be so cool
[01:37:05] and of course you reinstall and you start playing again that's the cycle
[01:37:10] you're so you you want to know how right you are guess guess what was uh last weekend
[01:37:15] rlc s baby why do you think it was a lie I didn't reinstall it because of this episode I
[01:37:22] reinstalled it because I've been watching pros god damn it they got us
[01:37:26] god damn it Jesus ladies and gentlemen we got them
[01:37:31] congratulations I played myself
[01:37:37] Jake my man what's your last one okay well I just gotta say I am I am fucking not like you guys
[01:37:43] in that regard I don't watch pro I don't watch esports I don't watch stuff like that I don't get hooked
[01:37:48] I mobas make me throw up not because they're bad games but because I'm so bad at them and I feel
[01:37:54] bad and it makes my time we do too yeah but the thing is but the thing is I don't want I don't
[01:38:01] want to put in the thousand hours Jake absolutely not so it gets really good to play I'm telling you
[01:38:07] what I've got thousands of hours into I need to do I had so many on my list I'm gonna do honorable
[01:38:12] mentions uh I play banjo kazooie a lot I play the sims a lot in like Jurassic Park Evolution 2 I'm
[01:38:20] always playing mega man and mario I play from soft games like crazy I still play all the
[01:38:25] ring in bloodborne and dark souls 3 and stuff like that um super super honorable mention uh Bethesda
[01:38:32] games uh fall out 3 fall out 4 76 even new vagus and then skyrim and not starfield but the other
[01:38:41] ones I um dude I've quit my job for more than one of those when they released and they
[01:38:48] yes I fucking love those games I love them so much and those are the things that I put
[01:38:52] thousands of hours into but my number one my absolute number one my golden child the game that I
[01:38:58] gave I mean my chat my son's middle name is named after this god damn game it's well it's the
[01:39:04] mass effect trilogy it's not any one of them it's mass effect 1 2 and 3 um I've completed the trilogy
[01:39:10] run at least I don't know like a dozen times in each time it's like 150 hours or so to do it
[01:39:15] and I do every single side quest I make sure everyone is safe I've cured the geno phage uh tally zora
[01:39:22] now tally zora vast normandy I've the coreians and the geth will share a whole world I've watched
[01:39:27] Legion die so many so many times and the fucked up thing about it is I have never deviated from my
[01:39:35] playthrough one time I've never played evil I've never played different classes well what yes
[01:39:43] I don't with a mass effect trilogy I repeat every single choice in every line of dialogue every
[01:39:51] every side quest every everything I repeat it verbatim over and over just to relive those moments
[01:40:00] with the characters and relive the world just the way I like it yeah it's it's it's fucking insane
[01:40:06] I guess to a lot of people because you know in a trilogy like that offers so many choices like
[01:40:11] incentivizes you to do different things I was gonna say like I compared my game to heroin but
[01:40:17] I'm actually more worried about you I am more alarming than what I said I call victim to solipsism
[01:40:25] or something I don't know it uh it uh I just keep repeating my same run and I just keep doing
[01:40:33] it and it feels better I'm like beetle juice I've completed the run a hundred and forty two times
[01:40:38] and it keeps getting funnier every time I do it I man dude I love not sure which is stuck in a
[01:40:45] time loop wake up Jake wake up Jake no thank krios needs to reunite with his son no I just yeah I just
[01:40:54] can't believe that you had slapped that reporter so many times like was every day
[01:41:01] in singing albedroni whatever fucking name do you do it Jake I dominate her
[01:41:07] yeah I can't believe this is what I am I say my mail equal rights play the music yet play the music
[01:41:18] if there yes yes she's equally able to be punched yes I am I'm a feminine equally
[01:41:25] Yes, but yeah, everyone's equally able to be punched. That's true. That's true
[01:41:31] And that's what true equality in a modern world looks like and that's what the mass effect
[01:41:36] That's what it does for me promote true equality in a fucked up world
[01:41:41] Yeah, I funnel all my equality through violence
[01:41:46] No other medium
[01:41:48] I make people equal
[01:41:51] I feel that pic though like yeah, especially when you said you don't really dva from the path all that much
[01:41:58] I mean, yeah burnout revenge. There's literally no way to TV from the path except for like picking different cars
[01:42:04] And it's just fun. Yeah, that's just comfort like something you know
[01:42:09] Yeah, yeah, something that you know near dear to your heart absolutely. Yeah
[01:42:15] It's like it's like singing the favorite lyrics to a song you and just sing the song differently just cuz you sang the song the same way
[01:42:22] I think you absolutely
[01:42:25] You know what he she wasn't looking dumb with her finger and a thumb in the shape of an L
[01:42:32] Smart in the shape of a Z
[01:42:35] It's like it's like when you go into the code to the grocery store or the cast station and you're like I can't want a canny bar
[01:42:42] And it's like you go to your old faithful like a fucking
[01:42:46] Twix or a
[01:42:48] Kit Kat like no one wants to deviate from the norm and go get a fucking zero bar
[01:42:54] God no absolutely not
[01:42:57] Every time it sucks. Yeah, I'm not I'm not about that zero
[01:43:01] Zero bar life fuck that every time you try something new it sucks
[01:43:04] You go to the your favorite restaurant you decide to try the new thing it sucks
[01:43:09] You wish you got the Philly cheese steak like that's what it is. Oh
[01:43:14] I can go for a philly. Hey, hey listeners. That's all the best games to keep coming back to those the only games
