[00:00:00] Hey guys, on this episode of Gaming And Collecting, we are joined by Naive from Gaming Together
[00:00:05] to talk about the recently released Spy Family movie, Spy Family Code White.
[00:00:10] Going over the film and giving our thoughts.
[00:00:12] It was a fun episode and definitely worth the discussion.
[00:00:15] Also major spoilers if you haven't seen the movie yet, do not watch otherwise,
[00:00:19] but if you have, enjoy the episode.
[00:00:22] Roll the music.
[00:00:23] So, before I do my normal spiel, I just wanted to say, originally we were going to have my
[00:00:49] co-host Matt from Geek Addicts on this episode.
[00:00:52] Unfortunately, he had some family issues that came up right before the recording today,
[00:00:56] so he had to drop out.
[00:00:58] I'm sure me and him will talk about this on Geek Addicts at some point in the down the future.
[00:01:02] But for now, we're going to just carry on with the crew that we had planned initially.
[00:01:08] So for this episode, Naive is joining us again to talk some anime.
[00:01:13] How's it going, Naive?
[00:01:14] Howdy. You can see my dog in the background.
[00:01:16] I did!
[00:01:17] Just on an adventure.
[00:01:20] She lives a simple life.
[00:01:22] Look at the dog.
[00:01:23] Aww.
[00:01:25] So people will remember Naive was on the show actually quite recently.
[00:01:29] We'd had our wonderful uncharted discussion while Alex was away.
[00:01:34] Yes, it was very good.
[00:01:37] Yeah, things got things got kind of crazy there, but it wouldn't be a piece.
[00:01:43] I got really confused for a second because I was like, I don't remember you talking
[00:01:46] about that. And then you're like, Alex was away.
[00:01:48] I was like, oh, yeah, that's why I don't remember.
[00:01:52] Yeah, Alex missed that one.
[00:01:53] The funniest part was Naive was not the one to set Liv off, which was kind of funny.
[00:01:58] Yeah, me and Liv have like a truce.
[00:02:00] Like we understand each other.
[00:02:03] We know we were not push.
[00:02:04] But other build did not know that.
[00:02:07] We should have briefed him.
[00:02:08] Yeah, I did not know it was coming.
[00:02:11] The second he dissed the last of us, I was like, oh no, he doesn't know what
[00:02:14] he's just doing.
[00:02:17] He was a good sport about it, though.
[00:02:20] But anyways, how you guys been?
[00:02:23] My car recently got broken into.
[00:02:25] Oh, oh, I saw it on Facebook.
[00:02:28] I'm so sorry.
[00:02:29] Yeah, it kind of it gave me like an anime villain arc for a second.
[00:02:34] But I decided to just get back into my into my lane.
[00:02:37] Luckily, I had like a concert and then I went and saw Spy Family right after.
[00:02:41] So it's like that that kind of evened out the little the scale.
[00:02:46] I can imagine.
[00:02:48] But everything was like, OK, is it can be?
[00:02:52] I guess. Like, was anything bad, like bad taken?
[00:02:57] There wasn't anything in there.
[00:02:58] So I was surprised that they even broke in in the first place.
[00:03:02] As far as I'm aware, they didn't pee in it or anything.
[00:03:04] So I'm pretty thankful for that.
[00:03:07] That's all.
[00:03:08] And this is a PSA.
[00:03:09] Don't leave anything valuable in your car.
[00:03:12] But even then, they'll still break into them.
[00:03:14] So just be careful.
[00:03:17] That's actually like the announcement.
[00:03:20] That's actually the one upside to having like a sports car is like,
[00:03:23] they're actually like the least broken into just because it's too obvious.
[00:03:29] Also, I'd imagine like a flame thrower would come out of the door
[00:03:32] or something like that and just destroy me.
[00:03:34] Probably wouldn't touch anything that looked like it had a lot of money in it.
[00:03:37] Yeah.
[00:03:40] Yeah, this week's been like really long and it's only Wednesday.
[00:03:44] Oh, yeah.
[00:03:45] Oh, it's been the opposite for me.
[00:03:48] Like I've been I've been into work and then I've sat down at my desk
[00:03:52] and I look at the clock and I'm like, it's time to go home.
[00:03:55] What happened?
[00:03:56] So nice.
[00:03:58] No, it's not because I feel like I'm still not getting enough stuff done,
[00:04:02] but I'm doing a lot.
[00:04:05] Yeah, it's tough.
[00:04:06] I'm a mailman, so it never it's the same thing every day.
[00:04:09] So every time I get into my mail truck, I just kind of close my eyes.
[00:04:13] I leave my body and then my body just kind of does its own thing.
[00:04:19] Do you ever run into like angry people when you're like delivering the mail or
[00:04:23] I thought you're going to ask if I ran into like things.
[00:04:27] I mean, you could answer that, too.
[00:04:30] I hit a few mailboxes with my wind, with my mirrors,
[00:04:34] but there's there's some people who are really passionate
[00:04:36] about getting their mail on time.
[00:04:38] And I just never knew that that was a demographic of people.
[00:04:41] Oh, those people don't really overlap with the people I hang out with.
[00:04:47] I mean, I have a vendetta against Amazon drivers,
[00:04:49] but like Amazon drivers kind of ask for it a lot of the times.
[00:04:54] Yeah.
[00:04:56] Also, just working for Amazon, though, just sucks.
[00:04:59] True. Yeah.
[00:05:01] Yeah. So we kind of work for Amazon because half of our packages
[00:05:05] are from them. So why?
[00:05:07] True. Very true.
[00:05:11] But yeah, other than that, not nothing too crazy.
[00:05:14] I'm still trying to catch up on everything
[00:05:17] because I don't have time to play video games anymore, which sucks.
[00:05:22] Let alone watch anime or read or do anything fun.
[00:05:28] Yeah. Normally I have a I have a pretty bad attention span.
[00:05:32] So like sitting down and watching something,
[00:05:34] I usually start to feel like I'm vibrating out of existence
[00:05:36] by the end of the 20 minutes.
[00:05:38] But I've really just watched a little bit of Friar in.
[00:05:41] I haven't gotten all the way through it.
[00:05:44] I started when it first started, like maybe three episodes in.
[00:05:47] I started on episode one and now it's done.
[00:05:50] And I'm like halfway through.
[00:05:51] That's how long it takes me to watch things.
[00:05:53] That's like the ratio.
[00:05:55] No, I feel like it's so hard.
[00:05:58] Like, I don't know, because recently I've been catching up on one piece
[00:06:02] and I was like, oh, I'm only like five episodes behind.
[00:06:05] And then I found out, oh, no, I was like 30 episodes behind,
[00:06:09] which is like a lot like that's like a full season
[00:06:13] or double season of some shows.
[00:06:15] So I was like, I'm really behind.
[00:06:18] And I was like, oh, no, I got all these other things
[00:06:20] that I watch, too.
[00:06:21] And I was like, oh, no, Marty. Yeah.
[00:06:24] So how many time doggo? Sorry.
[00:06:28] Somewhere on an adventure.
[00:06:32] It's your tail.
[00:06:36] Yeah, that's how I feel with like trying to catch up on animes.
[00:06:40] It's like I find one I really want to watch and then I see how long it is.
[00:06:43] I'm just like,
[00:06:44] I don't want to watch it if it's going to be a commitment.
[00:06:48] Yeah, I've been really lucky with the shows that I get attached to
[00:06:52] being like things that are only one season deep.
[00:06:54] So, boy, yeah, just watch one piece.
[00:06:58] Just do it this one episode, I promise.
[00:07:01] I was like, real quick.
[00:07:04] I just got done with Red Dead Redemption 2
[00:07:06] and that was like a 78 hour excapade.
[00:07:09] And I felt like I was crawling through the desert in the last
[00:07:12] like five or six hours.
[00:07:14] Like I was loving it, but it was like, oh, this is so long
[00:07:17] and not playing the first one, which makes it just
[00:07:19] it just feels like a DLC expansion to that.
[00:07:23] Oh, man.
[00:07:25] I know that feeling when you get that one game
[00:07:27] where you're like, I love this game, but it's too fucking long.
[00:07:31] You just want it to end.
[00:07:33] What do you mean?
[00:07:34] Just play games that never end.
[00:07:37] Like Stardew Valley, it never ends.
[00:07:41] You can keep going forever.
[00:07:42] I mean, I played RuneScape that never ends. Yes.
[00:07:46] It's like you look it looks like there might be an end, but no.
[00:07:51] No, I still think the saddest thing ever was when I got my steam
[00:07:56] rewind last year and it was like, you played RuneScape
[00:08:01] that's it.
[00:08:02] No, it's just like it's not as sad as mine.
[00:08:04] That's just said one hundred and six hours of cookie clicker.
[00:08:07] I'm just like, oh, yeah, that was me.
[00:08:11] The year before I had RuneScape and then like,
[00:08:13] I guess I went on like a fucking Freddy Fish binge at one point
[00:08:16] because I had all the Freddy.
[00:08:19] I was like, what a life.
[00:08:20] Oh, I love Freddy Fish.
[00:08:23] Yeah, those games are great.
[00:08:25] I can speed run them because they're like so like
[00:08:28] you just want your toddlers.
[00:08:30] They're for children.
[00:08:32] No, no, they were the slightly above.
[00:08:34] I think Pup Pud was the lowest.
[00:08:36] I don't know, though.
[00:08:37] I think all of them were for kids.
[00:08:39] Where were Pajama Sam games at?
[00:08:43] They were slightly more because like that you actually had to use
[00:08:45] your brain at points in that one.
[00:08:47] But Spy Fox, those were the legitimate challenging ones.
[00:08:51] I actually tried to play one of those and I was like, this is too hard.
[00:08:53] I want to go back to Pup Pud.
[00:08:58] I actually have to think.
[00:09:00] No, I can't just click on things.
[00:09:03] No, thank you.
[00:09:07] Yeah. Are you drinking, Bill?
[00:09:10] I'm actually drinking a
[00:09:12] monster beast unleashed, which is just monster, but alcoholic.
[00:09:17] Oh, interesting.
[00:09:20] And what are you drinking, Nave?
[00:09:22] The less cooler, older brother that
[00:09:27] literally just normal monster.
[00:09:30] Well, what are you drinking, Alex?
[00:09:32] Even though you're not going to show us because you don't want to show your face.
[00:09:35] She's holding it up to the camera right now.
[00:09:36] I am actually it's just a reaction.
[00:09:39] I am drinking a great, you purified drinking water
[00:09:44] with flavor enhancing minerals.
[00:09:48] Ooh, ingredients are it's bad enough.
[00:09:51] You do this to me.
[00:09:52] You're going to really put a guest to your nonsense.
[00:09:54] So do you like I've done it in a while.
[00:09:56] Leave me alone.
[00:09:58] It was distributed by Walmart since it's made by Walmart.
[00:10:03] It's purified by reverse osmosis.
[00:10:07] That's magical right there.
[00:10:09] And you can recycle it again.
[00:10:11] There's no calories.
[00:10:12] I need to know it's zero calories.
[00:10:15] They need to tell me.
[00:10:17] I'm not even 100 percent sure what a calorie is.
[00:10:20] Yeah, you need to measure.
[00:10:22] But you know, it really makes this the worst.
[00:10:24] This it's not Kirkland signature.
[00:10:26] And for that, I give it a zero out of 10 for being Walmart.
[00:10:31] Not Kirkland.
[00:10:34] Walmart water sounds like something I don't want to know what it is.
[00:10:39] Sounds like an immediately give you lead poisoning like right away.
[00:10:42] Oh, that's why the color so weird, isn't it?
[00:10:44] No.
[00:10:47] I was wondering why it was kind of green.
[00:10:49] No.
[00:10:51] That's a mountain.
[00:10:52] That's a mountain do.
[00:10:53] Oh, yeah.
[00:10:53] You screwed up your drinks.
[00:10:54] Oh, no, I don't know.
[00:10:57] Anyways.
[00:10:58] Yeah, that's why.
[00:11:00] So for this episode, we actually do have a topic.
[00:11:03] It's not just Alex nonsense the entire time.
[00:11:06] Hey, we're actually going to be we're going to be talking about
[00:11:10] the recently released spy family movie, spy family code white.
[00:11:15] And because Naive is the guest, I'd actually like to ask.
[00:11:19] So you're recently you like recently got into spy family, right?
[00:11:24] I actually got into it about halfway through season one.
[00:11:26] Okay.
[00:11:27] And then I started watching as it's probably the only anime
[00:11:32] I've ever watched, like as it released besides Bochy the Rock.
[00:11:36] And I guess Friar into an extent.
[00:11:38] Okay.
[00:11:39] I'm about the same.
[00:11:41] I watched I think I watched it from day one and then took a break
[00:11:44] because Alex were moving at the time.
[00:11:46] And then I kind of like binge the rest of season one.
[00:11:48] And then I season two, I was like
[00:11:51] pretty much like every episode when it came out.
[00:11:54] I know Alex watched it pretty much because we did an anime swap on it a while back.
[00:11:59] And I wasn't completely sold in season one.
[00:12:02] But season two got me.
[00:12:04] Season two got me as a fan,
[00:12:07] especially that last episode with Bond and Lloyd.
[00:12:10] Oh, yeah.
[00:12:11] That was my favorite episode.
[00:12:13] I don't know.
[00:12:14] I still love your covered in cats just spinning around.
[00:12:17] That too.
[00:12:18] And in just the first episode.
[00:12:21] Oh, yeah.
[00:12:22] You can't sit down.
[00:12:24] My butt hurts.
[00:12:28] Just standing in the canoe the whole time.
[00:12:33] This show is special.
[00:12:34] Yeah, I really love it because like they're both hiding stuff from each other.
[00:12:37] So they fail to notice how obviously suspicious they both are.
[00:12:43] Well, your is is just very oblivious to things that aren't like.
[00:12:48] Imported to her at the moment,
[00:12:50] though Lloyd is the funnier one, though, because he's like this master
[00:12:53] like spy, but he can't tell that you're a fucking assassin.
[00:12:57] He like he like five D chess is himself where he's like thinking about all
[00:13:02] the ways that it could be like, I don't it's so funny to me.
[00:13:06] And then you got Anya, who's the
[00:13:08] mind reader, who knows both of the things and she just says, fuck it,
[00:13:10] I'll go with it.
[00:13:13] We ball.
[00:13:15] Like I still season one still like
[00:13:17] season one, Anya still has some of my favorite quotes like my favorite is
[00:13:20] like the this is Papa, he's a spy who does all sorts of cool things.
[00:13:25] And this is mama.
[00:13:26] She she's very strong, but she's bad at most things.
[00:13:29] And then it just cuts to you're going, huh?
[00:13:33] The
[00:13:35] the thing that got me into the show actually was seeing a clip where
[00:13:40] it's the first episode where they're walking and Anya runs in front of Lloyd.
[00:13:43] And she's like, I want a pistol with a silencer.
[00:13:46] And then he's like, we'll get you.
[00:13:47] We'll see if we find one on sale.
[00:13:49] And then I was like, what is that show?
[00:13:51] I want to and people are like, oh, it literally just started.
[00:13:54] Go watch it.
[00:13:56] Yeah, I love the dynamic between the three characters because they're all just
[00:13:59] like super interesting and then the the supporting cast is also all equally
[00:14:04] like Becky.
[00:14:05] Yeah, they're all great.
[00:14:08] So this movie is interesting.
[00:14:11] So one thing about Spy Family is because the the anime is pretty much
[00:14:16] going concurrently with the manga, this is one of those shows that unfortunately
[00:14:21] has pretty much caught up to its manga.
[00:14:24] So it's kind of in this weird struggle where it's like they can't really do
[00:14:28] more anime until more manga comes out, which is why season two was only 12
[00:14:32] episodes as opposed to like the full 26 season one had.
[00:14:37] And because of that, they had to.
[00:14:40] Make this movie is kind of a holdover
[00:14:42] for us fans just to keep us interested, so this movie like most anime films is.
[00:14:49] It's nonstandard, so it's like it could be considered canon,
[00:14:54] but it's like not part of the manga at all.
[00:14:57] So it kind of stands on its own.
[00:15:01] What the manga creator have anything to do with it?
[00:15:03] I believe he wrote it actually.
[00:15:05] Oh, OK.
[00:15:06] Like it's fully his vision.
[00:15:08] So that's why I call that's why I say it's kind of canon,
[00:15:12] because realistically there's nothing in it that makes it not canon.
[00:15:16] But it's also one of those movies
[00:15:17] that like it ties up all of its loose ends right at the end and basically just
[00:15:22] makes it so it's like, yeah, this didn't have to happen.
[00:15:25] But we're still going to acknowledge it anyways.
[00:15:29] Because the movie very much kind of ties itself off at the end and
[00:15:33] perfectly kind of like.
[00:15:35] Ends itself where it's like, basically,
[00:15:37] if you don't watch the movie, you're not going to get lost or if you're a manga
[00:15:41] only fan, but if you watch the whole thing through,
[00:15:44] it's still going to be an enjoyable experience.
[00:15:47] So they did the opposite of what
[00:15:48] Nomura did with Kingdom Hearts, where he like split everything up
[00:15:52] in like 20 like a cell phone game, yeah, web browser game.
[00:15:55] Or you need to own 12 consoles just
[00:15:58] full story that's still not going to make any sense because it's Kingdom Hearts.
[00:16:02] I promise he was getting paid by like AT&T and and Xbox.
[00:16:07] He was getting paid by everyone.
[00:16:09] Imagine all the poor fools that went from Kingdom Hearts one to two
[00:16:12] and were so confused. Me?
[00:16:15] Yeah,
[00:16:17] young me.
[00:16:18] What you didn't play a chain of memories to get all of this story
[00:16:22] line that is actually very important to the plot.
[00:16:25] Sorry.
[00:16:28] So Spy Family Code White is a fun film.
[00:16:32] It's it.
[00:16:34] I'll ask, like,
[00:16:35] what was your thoughts when you saw the trailer for it?
[00:16:38] I saw about a third of a second and I've seen what I need to see
[00:16:44] and I went and paid for a ticket right away.
[00:16:46] I got all the information I need.
[00:16:49] What about you, Alex?
[00:16:50] I never asked actually what your thoughts of the trailer were.
[00:16:52] Well, I mean, like I was I was obviously hooked because I was hooked
[00:16:55] by season two, but I felt like the trailer did a good job of not
[00:16:59] spoiling like a lot of the stuff that happened in the movie.
[00:17:03] Like, it didn't really give you that much of like an understanding of what
[00:17:07] the plot would be, which I kind of appreciate because I don't like going
[00:17:10] into movies and already knowing what's going to happen.
[00:17:13] So I like the trailers.
[00:17:15] Because that was the trip.
[00:17:17] The key trailer shots were the scene
[00:17:19] of Anya with the gun, which was just funny.
[00:17:21] And then the scene of your like
[00:17:25] over like Lloyd while they're on the ground, which in context you find out
[00:17:29] it was completely a comedy scene, but the trailer made it seem like it was
[00:17:32] this bigger thing to the entire plot.
[00:17:35] Yeah.
[00:17:36] So it was very good at kind of like just hiding the actual plot,
[00:17:39] but also making it seem.
[00:17:42] It got you intrigued, I think is the best way of describing it.
[00:17:49] Now, I know you prefer subs.
[00:17:52] Did you see the movie subbed or dubbed?
[00:17:54] I saw it subbed. Yeah.
[00:17:55] OK, we saw it dubbed.
[00:17:57] So it'll be interesting to get the different perspectives.
[00:18:00] Yeah. And the only time it was playing was at nine.
[00:18:03] Yeah, I go to bed at 10 because I am an old lady in the body of a 28.
[00:18:10] How old are you?
[00:18:12] You're 28, Alex.
[00:18:13] 28 year old. Yes.
[00:18:15] I don't know.
[00:18:15] I lost track after 21.
[00:18:18] I feel like it just all goes downhill from there.
[00:18:20] That's the last milestone.
[00:18:22] Yeah.
[00:18:23] After that, nothing matters.
[00:18:25] Once you can buy alcohol, it's like, yeah, I don't care anymore.
[00:18:30] Yes.
[00:18:32] Yeah.
[00:18:32] So we saw this
[00:18:36] on the Saturday it came out.
[00:18:39] And I remember because it was
[00:18:42] well, not the following weekend after it came out.
[00:18:44] And the only showing I could get was for Dubb was 930 at night.
[00:18:50] So we had to go out super late, but it was worth it because this movie
[00:18:54] honestly was amazing.
[00:18:57] Yeah, I really liked it.
[00:18:59] I like a lot of times like it passed the phone test for me where
[00:19:05] to me, like I have this test when it comes to media, where if you're
[00:19:09] watching a film or like a show and
[00:19:13] you immediately grab your phone and start looking at it,
[00:19:15] that usually is a good sign that you're not interested in what's going on.
[00:19:19] And especially in a theater, because I see this a lot where people will just
[00:19:23] be on their phone the entire time at a movie.
[00:19:24] And I'm just like, what's close the point?
[00:19:27] Yeah.
[00:19:28] Why did you pay like you can just sit on your couch and also not watch a movie
[00:19:32] for free.
[00:19:33] So there was never a point in this movie where I was like, I'm bored.
[00:19:36] I want to look at something else.
[00:19:38] Like I was the entire time because the plot is pretty simple, but like
[00:19:43] really engaging, basically to best describe it.
[00:19:48] It's essentially there is
[00:19:51] because Spy Family is
[00:19:54] spoiler warning.
[00:19:56] Oh, yeah, we should probably drop this.
[00:19:58] Spoiler warning.
[00:19:59] You haven't seen the film in the plot.
[00:20:02] Spoiler warning here.
[00:20:03] If you haven't watched the film, stop listening now, watch the movie and then
[00:20:06] come back and finish or I'll occasionally drop fake spoilers.
[00:20:10] So now we can't trust anything that's being said.
[00:20:12] Exactly. Yeah.
[00:20:14] So yeah. Yeah.
[00:20:15] So going forward, we're going to spoil the zombies were a great part.
[00:20:18] Right.
[00:20:19] We love the zombies.
[00:20:21] I'm sorry.
[00:20:22] Yeah, almost turned into one at one point.
[00:20:24] So let's be real here.
[00:20:27] So basically, the plot of this movie is it revolves around so
[00:20:32] Spy Family in general is very debatable where it takes place.
[00:20:36] It's supposedly like Europe during like the
[00:20:40] during like the Cold War era, I want to say, supposedly.
[00:20:44] Yeah, it kind of feels that way, like some unnamed European country.
[00:20:49] I think it's supposed to be Germany, but like close enough because I was actually
[00:20:54] in a debate on Reddit about this because people were trying to figure out
[00:20:57] the nationality of the characters and people were like, what nationality is
[00:21:02] your because she's he is like the most overtly Japanese looking.
[00:21:06] Yeah, she's very Japanese.
[00:21:07] But by context, she shouldn't be.
[00:21:10] So a lot of people were kind of like, I think she might be like sort of like
[00:21:14] Eastern European Russian.
[00:21:16] And it was like I was sitting there going like, I guess.
[00:21:19] Maybe.
[00:21:21] Yeah, because I mean, I think whenever it doesn't she have like clothes she wears
[00:21:26] in the cold that are that's like furry or am I just making that up?
[00:21:29] Yeah, she she does.
[00:21:31] But like also the the fashion in like
[00:21:34] my family confuses me because there'll be points where this is supposed to be
[00:21:37] said, like the 80s, 70s, I think 80s.
[00:21:40] And then like you see your and like
[00:21:42] modern like short shorts every now and then it's like it's like, yeah,
[00:21:46] I don't know.
[00:21:48] But yeah, so the plot is essentially
[00:21:50] the whole war between the two sides is about to spark because there is like a
[00:21:55] basically there's incognito spies going back and forth.
[00:22:00] And essentially they're going to take
[00:22:02] Twilight off of the case because he has bigger things to take care of.
[00:22:06] But at the same time, he's like, I don't want to get off of Operation
[00:22:09] Strix. This is like my family and I secretly like that, even though I won't
[00:22:13] admit it.
[00:22:15] And so, like essentially he uses the excuse of I'm going to take time off
[00:22:19] because Anya has got a cooking class coming up and he needs to make a special
[00:22:24] meal that will help her get her stellar star
[00:22:30] because she needs the five stellar stars, which one thing I will admit is this
[00:22:33] film does a great job of like introducing you to like the characters in
[00:22:37] the plot.
[00:22:38] If you've never seen if you've never seen like the anime.
[00:22:41] Yeah.
[00:22:42] Everything just kind of slowly gets
[00:22:44] rolled out over the course of like 15 minutes.
[00:22:47] Like that opening scene of Lloyd, like
[00:22:51] seducing the
[00:22:56] the lady at the start who I assume was
[00:22:58] like married to like that high ranking official.
[00:23:00] Oh, yeah.
[00:23:01] And then he steals her identity.
[00:23:04] Yeah.
[00:23:05] Which is crazy.
[00:23:06] I don't think you've ever seen Lloyd steal a female's identity.
[00:23:09] Yeah, I think so.
[00:23:10] It was the first time I think because I was surprised to hearing him speak
[00:23:15] perfectly like a woman.
[00:23:16] So I'm assuming that he has some kind of like device now.
[00:23:19] I just thought that he was really good at parroting people since he's just
[00:23:23] he's just a mind freak.
[00:23:24] He's like good at everything else.
[00:23:26] I assumed he could make his voice crazy, too.
[00:23:27] But like, I wonder if he does have like a little device.
[00:23:32] I just wonder how he gets those full on like rubber suits like done and like
[00:23:36] that quick in the whole face prosthetics and everything.
[00:23:40] Yeah, yeah.
[00:23:42] It was funny.
[00:23:43] And then like also was experimented on.
[00:23:46] That's his ability.
[00:23:48] Yeah, I'm sure that I'm sure that's also a fan theory.
[00:23:52] Well, I'm pretty sure the manga is leading up to
[00:23:57] Lloyd's backstory because we've only seen glimpses of it where he was clearly
[00:24:02] went through a traumatic experience, but we don't know enough yet.
[00:24:06] Yeah.
[00:24:06] Everybody else has had some exploration of it.
[00:24:09] And Lloyd is just I was sad, a kid.
[00:24:13] And now I never want any other kid to be like that again.
[00:24:16] It's OK, Lloyd.
[00:24:18] Yeah, I'm sure we'll get more of that at some point.
[00:24:22] But yeah, so they use the whole trip to.
[00:24:27] What was the name of this town they
[00:24:29] visited escaping me at the moment every every name of everything escapes me.
[00:24:34] I only know Lloyd and yours because you guys said it earlier.
[00:24:38] That's that's fair.
[00:24:41] Let me let me do some research because I should have done this before we started.
[00:24:46] Yeah, I mean, hey, life is hard, you know?
[00:24:50] It happens.
[00:24:52] It's like Russia.
[00:24:54] It looks like, oh, I might have found it.
[00:24:58] Oh, yeah, they go to free this free juice or whatever.
[00:25:02] Oh, yeah, we also forgot to mention that the cheating subplot
[00:25:06] will start where throughout the whole movie.
[00:25:11] Your is I love yours a character because she's she is utterly adorable at all times.
[00:25:18] And I like the fact that, like when Lloyd's doing his random spy shit,
[00:25:22] she just happens to be on the fucking nearby and just sees everything.
[00:25:26] Yeah.
[00:25:27] And then her her her bitchy coworkers are like putting all these awful thoughts
[00:25:32] in her head and she's getting super freaked out.
[00:25:36] But it happens like three miles away
[00:25:39] and everyone's like, what are you looking at?
[00:25:42] Like squinting like what's over there?
[00:25:45] And it's like a tiny little speck on the screen.
[00:25:47] And I'm in the IMAX and I can barely see what she's looking at from as far
[00:25:52] away she is is also a really convenient placement because all he did was grab
[00:25:56] her night falls hat, which was blowing off and then pull it back
[00:26:00] on her head.
[00:26:01] But from the angle, it looked like they were making out.
[00:26:03] And then yours, like, is he cheating on me?
[00:26:06] Even though we're not actually true, really married.
[00:26:10] And it's all an act.
[00:26:13] This movie, because it was not well,
[00:26:15] because it is a non nonstandard pillar movie, they really played up
[00:26:21] the the your Lloyd moments, which was kind of cute.
[00:26:26] I like their dynamic and I like the way it's expanded upon.
[00:26:30] Yeah, and even even with it being a movie like it is, it can be kind of like
[00:26:36] still within that circle of the show, like within the canon a little bit
[00:26:41] because they were kind of starting to get that way towards the middle and end
[00:26:45] of season two. Yeah, like you can you can tell his
[00:26:49] Lloyds like odor like fell is starting to crack a bit and he's
[00:26:55] he's having a very hard time hiding the fact that he does legitimately like both
[00:26:59] of them.
[00:27:01] But, yeah, so they're going through the whole
[00:27:05] the town thing and their whole goal is they're going to this one particular
[00:27:08] restaurant which makes the the dessert that Anya has to make for
[00:27:12] the school headmaster, the Mary Mary, that's what it was called.
[00:27:17] Yes. And
[00:27:19] well, actually, we forgot to talk about the train sequence because
[00:27:22] there's actually important stuff happens there as well.
[00:27:24] Yes.
[00:27:26] I take chocolate
[00:27:29] and it wasn't hers.
[00:27:31] I just steal some chocolate and then
[00:27:34] we find that it doesn't really steal it.
[00:27:37] It just falls.
[00:27:38] It kind of just flies in the air at one point and she eats it.
[00:27:42] We also had the great scene of the two henchmen who are like the those two
[00:27:47] guys of this movie, they're they're trying to like attack her on the train
[00:27:52] and then your walks in and yours like Anya, sweetie, please close your eyes
[00:27:56] for a minute. And then she just proceeds to beat the shit out of these two guys.
[00:28:00] I love when she opens the door, she rips the handle off because she hears
[00:28:05] Anya. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:28:06] Yours freakish like strength is like one
[00:28:09] of my favorite like character ticks because there's no explanation for it.
[00:28:13] She's just absurdly strong for no reason.
[00:28:16] She has also been experimented upon.
[00:28:19] Well, this happens later in the movie.
[00:28:21] But the fact that she survived a plane crash in the cargo hold and just was
[00:28:27] walking on the roof of a flying plane, like nothing is happening.
[00:28:32] And she was only mildly annoyed, like inconvenienced.
[00:28:35] Like she wasn't even she wasn't even hurt.
[00:28:38] She just was like, she's like, what the hell is this?
[00:28:40] Like she was in the cargo hold of that plane and no seat belt.
[00:28:46] No.
[00:28:47] Well, the best part is she gets knocked around once and she's like,
[00:28:50] Lloyd, what are you doing?
[00:28:52] She pops out and she's like, hell, where are we?
[00:28:57] Lloyd, are you OK?
[00:28:59] I'm going to run on top of this plane now.
[00:29:01] Why are they shooting at me?
[00:29:03] Middle of an active war zone.
[00:29:04] Yeah.
[00:29:05] And then the military officers are like, sir, there's a woman on the plane.
[00:29:10] And he's like, stop joking.
[00:29:12] And he's like, lady.
[00:29:16] And then she just destroys like the gun turrets by being herself.
[00:29:21] And she and she
[00:29:24] well, and she legitimately starts the entire fire that basically is the end
[00:29:28] of the airship at the end.
[00:29:30] Whoops.
[00:29:32] But yeah, so they go through the they go to once they get to the town,
[00:29:36] they go to this restaurant that makes this special Mary Mary.
[00:29:40] And there's a whole montage of them
[00:29:42] like getting this whole deep backstory behind the owner of the restaurant,
[00:29:46] which seems like it's going to be very important.
[00:29:49] And then you never fucking hear about it again.
[00:29:55] And as they're about to have the dessert, this general shows up and he just has
[00:30:01] that massive like energy going on.
[00:30:04] Well, and like the restaurant was only for like only families could go.
[00:30:08] So like the fact that he was coming in and he was being like,
[00:30:12] I don't fucking care.
[00:30:14] Give me your seat and give me your food.
[00:30:17] I mean, it's like, oh, I also want this dessert.
[00:30:20] They're like, well, we don't have any more.
[00:30:21] They're like, I'm just going to steal theirs.
[00:30:23] And Lloyd Lloyd's like, no, no, no, no, no.
[00:30:26] Well, let's play a game.
[00:30:28] And then, of course, the guy does some weird
[00:30:31] technicality bullshit and still gets it gets away with it.
[00:30:35] And you this is the first time I think we've ever seen Lloyd taken out.
[00:30:39] Yeah, honestly.
[00:30:40] Although it does come back, it does come back around later on to a degree.
[00:30:46] But there's also the great scene of Anya trying to cut the chicken.
[00:30:51] Yeah, the whole time.
[00:30:52] She's just trying really hard to get this.
[00:30:55] Oh, yeah.
[00:30:55] And then when the chef comes over and the chef is like, so what do you guys
[00:30:59] think of the food and he's like, well, I got something to say.
[00:31:03] Like she's going to be a little shit.
[00:31:05] Is that what she said in English?
[00:31:06] Because in Japanese, she was like, bring me the chef.
[00:31:09] And he's like, I am the chef, little lady.
[00:31:11] Yeah. In the in the dub, she's like, I have something to say, sir.
[00:31:16] And then Lloyd comes in, he completely defuses that instantly.
[00:31:21] Lloyd was like, no, not today.
[00:31:25] But then because they need that Mary Mary, and that was the last one.
[00:31:28] And they find out the shipment for
[00:31:30] the new ingredients isn't going to be in until like way after they're already
[00:31:34] gone, they elect to go on a wild goose chase to find all the
[00:31:37] ingredients for the guys so they can get there at Mary Mary.
[00:31:41] Which I don't mission,
[00:31:42] which is funny because I don't think they ever actually get it.
[00:31:46] No, they do.
[00:31:47] Well, they don't they don't show it in the film.
[00:31:50] Oh, right. Right.
[00:31:51] I'm thinking of something else happens, which ruins it later on.
[00:31:56] But there's this great scene where they go to the market and
[00:32:00] all three of them are there and they're like, OK, let's go.
[00:32:03] Let's let's all look around together and we can find and then yours.
[00:32:06] Now you're just like, no, I got this.
[00:32:08] And he just goes from the booth at the speed of light.
[00:32:11] And he's like, just like finding everything.
[00:32:13] But there's like a handful of things he couldn't find.
[00:32:16] And
[00:32:17] he's going around and at one point
[00:32:21] he sees like a lipstick sales salesperson and he decides to get your
[00:32:24] some lipstick because she claims she lost hers on the train.
[00:32:29] Well, I think like wasn't her like
[00:32:32] she said her lips were dry or something or something.
[00:32:36] Oh, no, no. She she needed an excuse
[00:32:38] to leave the train car because like Lloyd was getting flirty with her and
[00:32:41] she couldn't handle it.
[00:32:42] And she made an excuse saying that she was allergic to her lipstick.
[00:32:46] Yeah, I thought in Japanese it was like
[00:32:49] the lipstick's too oily or something like that.
[00:32:52] Yeah, I can't remember.
[00:32:55] So like he sees the lipstick and he's like, this is your color, right?
[00:32:59] And he's like, you said your lipstick was was bothering you.
[00:33:02] And then yours freaking out because one
[00:33:04] of the things her co-workers said was giving random gifts as a sign of cheating.
[00:33:08] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:33:09] And she goes through like this mini
[00:33:11] depression where she has to go to the bathroom.
[00:33:13] And as she does that, Anya discovers a train and she's on.
[00:33:19] I mean, that's so cute, though, because don't you remember being a kid
[00:33:23] and there being like a mini train and you also wanting to go.
[00:33:26] I want to go on the mini train and I want to spin in circles for hours,
[00:33:32] even though I'm not going anywhere.
[00:33:34] And I like how Lloyd channels the inner adult.
[00:33:36] He's like, she's just going around in circles on a train.
[00:33:38] I don't understand
[00:33:41] the joys of being a kid.
[00:33:43] So then I love how much Lloyd shuts on you down all the time.
[00:33:47] Oh, yeah.
[00:33:48] I just love Lloyd's perplexion of like everything.
[00:33:51] Like he doesn't get on yet.
[00:33:52] He does it. There's points where he's so confused by your
[00:33:56] because yours is a very complicated woman.
[00:34:00] But so he's chilling at a bar getting a
[00:34:04] I think he's just getting like a drink or something.
[00:34:06] And then yours shows up.
[00:34:07] He's like, you're OK.
[00:34:08] You've seen down and he's like, is there something you want to share?
[00:34:12] And she just has he offers to buy her a coffee or something like that.
[00:34:15] Right. Right. Right. That's another gift which makes which
[00:34:18] sends her into an even deeper spiral.
[00:34:21] Yeah. So she she's like by she just slams the money down on the table.
[00:34:24] And I'm not I'm going to say we saw this in IMAX.
[00:34:27] The fucking punch whenever she put the money on the table was fucking
[00:34:32] amazing. It was like just like, boom, the entire time.
[00:34:36] He like slams the money down, gets like a full on glass of like wine,
[00:34:40] just downs it and then it doesn't do anything.
[00:34:43] So she gets like 20 more and then she is shit faced.
[00:34:47] Yes.
[00:34:48] And.
[00:34:50] It was great because like they're all
[00:34:52] the sudden yours doing her dramatic, like drunk, like crying thing.
[00:34:56] And Lloyd has no idea what to do.
[00:34:58] And then Anya's watching on the train and she's like,
[00:35:01] is this mommy and papa flirting?
[00:35:05] Oh, yeah. I think she goes like it's flirty time or something.
[00:35:08] Right.
[00:35:09] Papa and Papa and Mama are having flirty time.
[00:35:15] And then like that,
[00:35:16] and like you are just completely falls on top of them.
[00:35:20] And that's where that trailer shot comes from.
[00:35:22] And then she just passes out because drunk.
[00:35:25] Yeah. And then wakes up moments later, not drunk anymore.
[00:35:28] Yeah. Incredible.
[00:35:30] Yours, yours, a very special person.
[00:35:33] So next level genetics.
[00:35:35] I wish I had that.
[00:35:37] Never understand.
[00:35:38] Oh, yeah. There's also a subplot of
[00:35:41] Yuri is doing something because he needed to have a cameo in this.
[00:35:45] And he finds out there's like war going on in
[00:35:49] Fergus and he's like, but yours there, I need to go.
[00:35:52] And they're like, you're not going.
[00:35:54] They have to like restrain him because they know he will go there.
[00:35:58] Yeah. That's the funny thing, too,
[00:36:00] because it's like the dog got an excuse to go.
[00:36:03] And then so the brothers, they're like, oh, no, the brothers.
[00:36:07] Oh, before this, the other agent got an excuse to go to.
[00:36:11] What's her name?
[00:36:12] Well, she didn't really get the OK.
[00:36:14] She just fucking she just decided she was going.
[00:36:18] She was like.
[00:36:20] Well, I was like, so she so it's like the dog, then the then the other
[00:36:23] agent and then the brother, you're like, oh, my God,
[00:36:26] the brother's going to show up to you and they're like, no, no, no, too much,
[00:36:29] too much. They're like, they're like, you are getting too weird for this movie.
[00:36:33] You are staying here.
[00:36:34] Yeah. This movie needs to be like normal audiences need to be able to watch this.
[00:36:39] OK, you got to stay home.
[00:36:41] Not you. It's like it's like we don't need to we don't need to expose
[00:36:44] the moviegoers to the fact that Yuri likes his sister a little too much.
[00:36:50] But speaking of Fiona showing up there,
[00:36:54] that actually leads to like one of my favorite moments in the film.
[00:36:58] And I'm actually curious how the sub handled this, because in the dub,
[00:37:02] Lloyd is looking for the cherry whiskey
[00:37:03] because it's the final thing he had he needs to find.
[00:37:06] And they cut to Fiona heading there and she's like,
[00:37:08] she's like just screaming Twilight, Twilight, Twilight.
[00:37:11] And then it cuts to your it cuts to Lloyd running and he's going liquor,
[00:37:14] liquor, liquor. That's exactly how it was.
[00:37:17] OK, it was just like such a great.
[00:37:20] It's a really funny transition.
[00:37:21] Yeah. Meanwhile, he's sent on yet.
[00:37:24] Well, actually, we forgot about the Ferris wheel.
[00:37:25] Yeah, yeah.
[00:37:26] I was going to say you can't not bring up the Ferris wheel and the punch.
[00:37:29] So, oh yeah, because Anya sees that they're on your reads both of their minds
[00:37:33] and she sees that there's a crisis about to happen because they're both like
[00:37:36] overthinking things again, because Anya is just like divorce.
[00:37:40] No, no.
[00:37:42] OK, so did they talk about a bloodbath?
[00:37:45] Because in the Japanese, she's like bloodbath.
[00:37:49] No. Oh, yeah, because they they cut
[00:37:51] to a flashback of Becky explaining to Anya what divorce is.
[00:37:55] And she refers to divorce as it's a bloodbath, as a literal bloodbath.
[00:37:59] And then Anya goes, no, no.
[00:38:01] She thought they were going to kill each other.
[00:38:03] Yeah. Yeah. Well, we are.
[00:38:04] Consider Lloyd. Yeah.
[00:38:07] But anyway, so they get to the she sees the Ferris wheel in the background
[00:38:11] and she realizes like she's like, that's the place where people go to flirt.
[00:38:15] She's like, I'm on the Ferris wheel
[00:38:19] and she basically kicks them both onto the Ferris wheel.
[00:38:22] And then she's like, OK, you guys have fun.
[00:38:23] They're like,
[00:38:25] Lloyd's like she wanted to go on the damn thing and then she doesn't even ride it.
[00:38:31] And then basically he just gets
[00:38:33] your and Lloyd have their little heart to heart.
[00:38:35] And then they kind of like Lloyd goes too much.
[00:38:39] Well, basically, yeah, he to reassure her, he goes like way too much.
[00:38:42] But you can't handle any sort of flirting.
[00:38:45] So she just fucking slaps him so hard across the face,
[00:38:48] which was great in IMAX, by the way. Yeah.
[00:38:51] And he falls out of the Ferris wheel
[00:38:54] and lands perfectly upright on his two feet next to Anya.
[00:38:58] Yeah, with this giant fucking boil,
[00:39:00] like he looked like the character from Fairly Odd Parents.
[00:39:03] I was thinking like Ed and Eddie when they have a jawbreaker in their.
[00:39:06] Oh, that's you.
[00:39:08] And then yours like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry.
[00:39:10] I didn't mean to do these like, oh, it's perfectly fine.
[00:39:12] And then on is like, are you guys done aggressively flirting?
[00:39:16] They're like, no,
[00:39:20] as a really good scene, though,
[00:39:22] all any scene with like Lloyd and yours always great because I love like your
[00:39:27] like can't handle any sort of like extreme affection.
[00:39:31] And she just like overpanics and then
[00:39:33] like her immediate reaction to everything is just violence.
[00:39:39] Not good.
[00:39:41] Not directly.
[00:39:42] Yeah, but he doesn't know any better.
[00:39:46] Yeah, that's just her standard standard approach to everything.
[00:39:51] But yeah, so then they cut back to the
[00:39:54] hotel room where your and Anya are playing spy with like Anya's toys,
[00:39:59] which is really cute.
[00:40:00] And then, like, sadly,
[00:40:02] goes everywhere in the town and can't find the cherry whiskey or cherry
[00:40:07] liquor, whatever it was.
[00:40:09] And.
[00:40:12] Basically, he says he found one place
[00:40:14] that has it, but he's got to go out at night to get it.
[00:40:16] And he asked you if he could just watch on yet, if she could watch on you.
[00:40:20] And I was very upset because she wants to
[00:40:22] spend time with him because they went on a family vacation and they are spending
[00:40:26] time as a family, this is painful because I hugged Bond.
[00:40:29] And I'm just like, I can't watch this.
[00:40:32] Yeah.
[00:40:33] And then your gift gives this really
[00:40:35] like heartfelt like thing of it's like, like, what if we all go make it
[00:40:38] a family thing and like, she's like, it's OK, it'll be fine.
[00:40:42] Just once.
[00:40:44] We forgot that the he ends up calling
[00:40:47] what's his name before he gives up Frankie.
[00:40:50] Yeah, so he calls Frankie and he's like,
[00:40:53] a you need to bring me some of this right now as soon as possible.
[00:40:58] And then he's just like a reluctant he's
[00:41:00] like actually successfully macking on a girl to like the girls interested.
[00:41:05] And then he's ignoring the phone call.
[00:41:07] And then she's like, you maybe maybe should answer that.
[00:41:10] And then he goes to answer it.
[00:41:11] He's like, oh, God, I was afraid it was you.
[00:41:14] And then the girl leaves.
[00:41:15] Yeah, she leaves.
[00:41:17] Oh, my God.
[00:41:18] Poor Frankie.
[00:41:19] Although he ended up being better off in the end anyways, because we find out
[00:41:22] about that girl later on, we'll get to the it's funny too,
[00:41:27] because that's after the brother.
[00:41:28] So it's like, OK, so he's coming like everyone's coming but the brother.
[00:41:33] Yeah.
[00:41:34] Yep.
[00:41:35] Poor Frankie.
[00:41:36] But so he's going so they're having this whole heartfelt like speech while
[00:41:40] Anya is crying in her room, basically.
[00:41:43] And of course, right when they're really
[00:41:46] making progress, Fiona shows up as room service and they're like,
[00:41:51] I didn't order room service.
[00:41:53] And then it's like, oh, of course,
[00:41:55] I must have accidentally done it, as he always does.
[00:41:59] Yeah.
[00:41:59] And he needed a towel.
[00:42:01] Exactly.
[00:42:02] They needed a towel.
[00:42:04] And they're having this whole heartfelt thing until your discovers Anya is missing.
[00:42:09] It's like, how did Anya get out?
[00:42:11] Oh, my God.
[00:42:12] And Anya is like she gets a note and she's
[00:42:14] like, I'm going to go search for the liquor.
[00:42:17] I'll be right back. I know where it is.
[00:42:18] And then Lloyd picks it up and he's like, I can't read any of this.
[00:42:24] It made me laugh so hard in the theater.
[00:42:27] The dub, it's even better in the dub.
[00:42:29] He just goes, this is illegible.
[00:42:33] I don't think he says this is.
[00:42:35] I think he just goes illegible.
[00:42:36] Like he's just like disgusted.
[00:42:39] Yeah.
[00:42:41] Well, then we cut to like because Anya had
[00:42:43] a vision where she actually found a place that had the cherry.
[00:42:46] No, I think it was Bond did like Bond.
[00:42:49] Sorry. Right.
[00:42:50] And then she read Bond.
[00:42:52] Yeah. Yes.
[00:42:53] And yeah, Bond had the vision.
[00:42:56] And then Anya read his mind because that's their fun dynamic.
[00:43:00] And they go off to go find the liquor.
[00:43:03] And of course, as she gets it, the two those two henchmen reappear
[00:43:08] because we found out that that chocolate actually contained a very important
[00:43:12] microfilm that they needed to start war.
[00:43:16] So they need to get that back before that.
[00:43:19] When she gets the liquor, there are two other soldiers there.
[00:43:23] And they look at this wanted poster and it is a hideous picture of it.
[00:43:28] Hideous.
[00:43:29] And then they see Anya and they're like, no, that's not her.
[00:43:33] They're like,
[00:43:35] and in the dub, it's even better because in the dub, they're like,
[00:43:39] that wasn't her, was it?
[00:43:40] And he's like, no, I don't think so.
[00:43:44] Like they realize it's her, but they just don't want to be bothered.
[00:43:47] Like they're like, no, no, can't be.
[00:43:53] But then, of course, eventually those two guys show up and kidnap her.
[00:43:57] And they hurt on the beat up on the way bond gets hurt is so sad because
[00:44:02] they run over a damn can and the can like beans in the head.
[00:44:07] And then he just is down and it's like, oh, poor guy.
[00:44:12] But then, of course,
[00:44:13] eventually bond also before, though, he bites one of the guys sleeves.
[00:44:18] Right. Ends up ripping the patch off.
[00:44:21] And when you're in the Lloyd find him, they immediately find the patch.
[00:44:26] And that's how they get the realization
[00:44:28] that this is how they're going to find on you.
[00:44:30] Which is crazy because like, he's just
[00:44:32] an unconscious dog in the middle of the street.
[00:44:35] Nobody pays attention.
[00:44:38] So then we cut to the Lloyd decides that he can hijack any plane he sees.
[00:44:43] Well, before we get to that, though,
[00:44:44] we see the the villains are in their giant.
[00:44:47] Yes.
[00:44:49] And they're flying and they have on you by this point.
[00:44:52] And they're like, they're like.
[00:44:54] She ate the microfilm.
[00:44:56] And it's like,
[00:44:58] it's like, have you used the bathroom since then?
[00:45:00] And she's like, yeah.
[00:45:02] And her stomach gargles and she's like,
[00:45:04] they're like, he's like, he's like, all right, you're going to you two
[00:45:08] are going to take her and wait for her to shit it out.
[00:45:11] Like you straight up said shit in the dove.
[00:45:14] It was great.
[00:45:15] I think this is on you.
[00:45:17] On you call someone a shithead at the beginning of the movie.
[00:45:20] Does Anya ever say shit?
[00:45:23] In English, I don't think she did in
[00:45:25] the dub because that got a huge laugh in the theater.
[00:45:28] It was like I think she called the the second son.
[00:45:31] She's like, he's such a shithead.
[00:45:33] Oh, yeah, she did. She did say that.
[00:45:35] She didn't ever.
[00:45:36] Yeah, that's fucking that's it's great.
[00:45:39] Potty mouth. Yes.
[00:45:40] They could say this is the movie.
[00:45:42] The general literally says multiple times throughout.
[00:45:45] Like he says, wait, so he says, like he's like at one point,
[00:45:48] he says, I wait for her to crap it out.
[00:45:50] Then he says, wait for her to shit it out.
[00:45:51] And then later on, he's like, did she defecate yet?
[00:45:55] It's got a huge laugh out of the theater.
[00:45:58] Yeah, I will say that Anya,
[00:46:01] the Anya shitting arc was not on my
[00:46:05] predictions for this movie, but it was wonderful.
[00:46:08] The theater straight up died when that happened.
[00:46:13] The scene.
[00:46:15] Oh, yeah, the scene where she goes through the acid trip like dream.
[00:46:19] Yeah, she goes through a zen state.
[00:46:24] I thought we were going to legit see her shit herself because like it got
[00:46:27] pretty bad, it got really bad there for a minute.
[00:46:31] Yeah, and she is a stressful situation.
[00:46:33] She's got higher constitution than I do.
[00:46:36] I would have failed that role.
[00:46:38] And then it just cuts to this acid trip
[00:46:40] dream sequence with like toilets and stuff and this like weird hybrid of
[00:46:45] Master Roshi and Mr. Elegant at the start.
[00:46:49] Yes, that whole sequence,
[00:46:52] that sequence, literally the entire theater.
[00:46:54] Nobody knew what to think and everyone was just dying.
[00:46:56] Yeah, it was such a left turn.
[00:47:00] It's such a big lift alligator moment
[00:47:02] like it's right in the middle of the movie and it's like completely animation
[00:47:05] shift. Yeah, it's just like this whole water colors.
[00:47:09] It's like something straight out of Bochy the Rock.
[00:47:11] Like Bochy the Rock does that all the time.
[00:47:14] And I love it.
[00:47:15] It's just like a straight up acid trip metaphor for she's got to take a shit
[00:47:19] really bad. Yeah, but she's holding it in.
[00:47:23] She's holding it
[00:47:25] because she read the general's mind that he was just going to kill her as
[00:47:28] soon as she did take it.
[00:47:31] Yep.
[00:47:32] But then we cut back to Lloyd and your
[00:47:34] who Lloyd is like legit restoring this plane that hasn't flown in years.
[00:47:40] And
[00:47:42] your doesn't question this at all.
[00:47:44] She's like, yeah, you can just fly a plane.
[00:47:46] That makes sense.
[00:47:47] I was so shocked when he jumped out and she was standing there.
[00:47:50] And I was just like, he got caught, I guess.
[00:47:53] And then he's just like, hey, I got to go.
[00:47:55] The military has on you straight up.
[00:47:57] Like the military took on you.
[00:47:58] I don't know why I fixed that plane.
[00:48:00] I'm going to go get them.
[00:48:02] You're just like, OK, bye bye.
[00:48:05] Yeah, she's just straight up.
[00:48:07] Just try it like she was like, we can do this as a family.
[00:48:10] And he was like, no, I got to do this on my own.
[00:48:12] And then you're just like, I'm going in the cargo hold.
[00:48:16] Well, at first she goes, OK,
[00:48:17] I'm going to do this.
[00:48:19] Because there was that plot point where
[00:48:20] like he like pulled where she pulls open the cargo hatch door.
[00:48:23] She goes, oh, cargo door.
[00:48:25] That's fun. And then just shuts it.
[00:48:26] And then as he's flying off, she's like, wait, oh, yeah, she has to run.
[00:48:32] Yeah, she has to run after the plane,
[00:48:35] which is very your like in many ways.
[00:48:38] And she straight up jumps in.
[00:48:40] I just remembered when Lloyd,
[00:48:42] Lloyd jumped out, he was like, oh, yeah, I was like an aviation student.
[00:48:47] For a while, I really like these planes.
[00:48:50] And she's like, oh, and that made the theater laugh again,
[00:48:53] because it's like, that's so stupid.
[00:48:54] But yours is so gullible that she buys it like yours way too trusting at times.
[00:49:01] There's a scene later in the movie
[00:49:02] that we'll get to that perfectly highlights that dynamic.
[00:49:07] So, yeah, he gets in the plane and he's there flying towards the airship
[00:49:11] and he's like,
[00:49:13] we're running out of fuel, we need to make a crash landing.
[00:49:16] Can we land on your ship?
[00:49:17] And they're just like, shoot him out of the sky.
[00:49:22] Yeah.
[00:49:23] And then they just start this whole dog
[00:49:25] fight with heat seeking missiles and they're they really highlight how much
[00:49:30] of a piece of shit the general is because they're like, sir,
[00:49:33] these aren't even legal yet.
[00:49:34] And he's like, do it anyways. War will start soon enough.
[00:49:39] Yeah, that guy was a bastard.
[00:49:42] Yeah.
[00:49:43] This was like the scene where yours
[00:49:45] was getting jostled around the cargo bin and she's like,
[00:49:48] what are you doing?
[00:49:50] In Japanese, she was like,
[00:49:52] Lloyd really needs to work on his piloting skills.
[00:49:57] You don't hear the gunfire and the explosions.
[00:49:59] You're upside down right now.
[00:50:01] Yeah.
[00:50:02] And then he eventually does crash into the plane and yours just pops out.
[00:50:06] And she's like,
[00:50:08] what happened?
[00:50:10] I'm here now.
[00:50:11] And she sees the empty cockpit.
[00:50:14] She's like, Lloyd, are you OK?
[00:50:15] He must be fine.
[00:50:16] And then she just starts running down the plane.
[00:50:20] Yeah.
[00:50:21] Man. And then, of course,
[00:50:23] Anya eventually escapes because the other two like.
[00:50:27] Yeah, because at this point, like they went and talked to the boss
[00:50:31] and the boss was basically like, yeah, cut her stomach open.
[00:50:34] Just cut her open.
[00:50:35] Yeah.
[00:50:36] And then and then she knew what they were going to do.
[00:50:39] So she's like, I'm out of here.
[00:50:40] And she was running.
[00:50:42] Yeah.
[00:50:43] And she had a classic Scooby Doo chase scene.
[00:50:45] A literal Scooby Doo chase scene.
[00:50:47] Meanwhile, like minutes before,
[00:50:49] she almost shit herself and she was like hallucinating from the pain.
[00:50:52] But I guess it's fine now.
[00:50:54] I mean, we've all had that experience.
[00:50:55] Her life's on the line.
[00:50:56] Yeah.
[00:50:57] Yes.
[00:50:58] Don't worry. She got her sweet relief soon.
[00:51:00] Yeah.
[00:51:01] She finds a bathroom and then it cuts to like this scene of glory when she
[00:51:05] sees a toilet and she's like, hooray.
[00:51:07] Oh, the funniest thing is, as in Japanese, Anya was just legit
[00:51:11] and just going, toilet, toilet.
[00:51:16] But it would be like a restroom in the dubbing.
[00:51:19] But clearly she's saying toilet.
[00:51:22] Yeah, that was super funny.
[00:51:24] And of course, the second she walks out,
[00:51:25] they're just waiting for her holding toilet paper and they're like, we got
[00:51:29] you. I think is that not the first place they should have looked?
[00:51:32] She hit that's the first place she hid.
[00:51:35] And it happened to be the bathroom.
[00:51:37] That would have been the first place you should have looked.
[00:51:39] Well, it'd be inappropriate to open the door.
[00:51:42] She could. Oh, you're right.
[00:51:44] She locked it.
[00:51:49] So meet well.
[00:51:51] So while this is happening, Lloyd is making his way through the ship and he
[00:51:55] overhears after they catch her, he overhears the two guys basically say,
[00:52:01] like, that girl was a handful of shame.
[00:52:04] They're going to have to kill her or something like that.
[00:52:07] Oh, he says that he says that they mention
[00:52:11] that she ate the chocolate or something.
[00:52:14] So he kind of gets briefed.
[00:52:16] He's like, oh, they're looking for that.
[00:52:18] OK.
[00:52:20] And then I think he grabbed somebody.
[00:52:23] Yeah, he kidnaps the one guy and steals his identity.
[00:52:27] And then he goes to the bridge and he goes to
[00:52:31] he's basically trying to find where Anya is.
[00:52:33] And of course, he once he realizes
[00:52:36] that she's probably in there somewhere.
[00:52:37] He conveniently loses a button.
[00:52:39] He's like, oh, I lost it.
[00:52:41] But right before, though, he runs into the two that were like the ones watching
[00:52:46] her because they dropped her off to them and then the bad guy told him,
[00:52:51] it's like, OK, you're going to go swim in the shitter to find.
[00:52:55] You're going to go climb in the septic tank.
[00:52:57] Yeah, like go find it.
[00:52:59] So like Lloyd hears some bitching about it as he passes him by.
[00:53:03] And then he just beats the shit out of them.
[00:53:05] So he also notices that one was missing a patch.
[00:53:09] Right. That's true.
[00:53:10] And so that's kind of another insight into Lloyd actually caring about Anya
[00:53:15] because he has no reason to beat the shit out of him.
[00:53:17] He just does it because he knows they're the one that kidnapped her.
[00:53:20] Yeah.
[00:53:21] And they hurt Bond and Bond is his buddy.
[00:53:24] Yes.
[00:53:26] But I like also it's implied that those two died because we never do see them
[00:53:29] escape. Yeah, they probably gone.
[00:53:32] Yeah.
[00:53:33] Another thing,
[00:53:35] the way that Lloyd figures out that Anya is in that area is that she like full
[00:53:40] strength slams her head into a pipe.
[00:53:44] He has no reason.
[00:53:45] I don't know. She just
[00:53:47] slams it and makes a loud noise.
[00:53:51] Once again, IMAX was amazing.
[00:53:53] Yeah, it was like it just
[00:53:56] threw out the whole theater.
[00:53:58] Oh, I felt like it was giving me a
[00:54:00] migraine. Like when she did that, I was like feeling the pain through the screen.
[00:54:04] I was like, ow.
[00:54:06] Also, meanwhile,
[00:54:07] Yor is just kind of making her way through the ship at this point.
[00:54:10] And the whole time they're like, it's just one woman.
[00:54:13] How can you not catch her?
[00:54:16] And there's a great scene where she
[00:54:18] she literally walks into a group and she's like, excuse me, have you seen my
[00:54:21] daughter and husband and they just like start shooting her?
[00:54:23] And she's like, that wasn't very nice.
[00:54:26] She beats the shit out of them.
[00:54:29] Well, and then eventually,
[00:54:31] oh, I think you're going to say what I was going to say.
[00:54:33] I was going to say eventually they
[00:54:35] the generals like use type F together and they're like type F.
[00:54:41] That's not even legal yet.
[00:54:42] Like it's not tested.
[00:54:44] He's like, I don't care. Do it.
[00:54:45] And we find out type F is like this, like
[00:54:49] machine, like weapon man, basically weapon man.
[00:54:53] I will say this was the only part of the movie where I was like,
[00:54:58] like, I don't know.
[00:54:59] It just felt a little like they had to make something for your to do something
[00:55:04] during all this. They needed an epic moment for your to do her
[00:55:08] assassin stuff without actually being an assassin.
[00:55:11] It just felt a little forced, you know, like it was just like, oh, my God,
[00:55:15] this evil guy, she has to kill him because he's bad.
[00:55:19] You know what I'm saying?
[00:55:20] Like it just it could be I feel like they could have come up with something
[00:55:24] better, but I get it. It was a pretty hard fight.
[00:55:26] They wanted to show off the awesome animation because we haven't mentioned it
[00:55:31] yet, but this film looked amazing animation wise.
[00:55:34] Oh, yeah.
[00:55:35] Like so much real awesome detail and I totally agree with that.
[00:55:39] But in terms of the plot in the story, it was in terms of animation.
[00:55:44] Great. In terms of plot.
[00:55:47] Not as much.
[00:55:48] Yeah.
[00:55:49] The resolution of that, though, is pretty cool.
[00:55:51] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:55:52] We'll get to that after.
[00:55:53] But because while she's fighting him,
[00:55:54] because it's implied that she's fighting him the entire time.
[00:55:57] Yeah,
[00:55:59] it's constantly jump cutting between all parties.
[00:56:02] Yes.
[00:56:03] It was actually a fun little way they did it too.
[00:56:05] But so Lloyd is
[00:56:08] basically he's like, oh, I lost a button.
[00:56:10] I got to go get it.
[00:56:12] And then as he walks in, the other guy's like,
[00:56:16] you he's like, you didn't you may have masked your appearance,
[00:56:19] but you didn't mask your smell.
[00:56:21] And I know exactly who you are, Trader.
[00:56:23] They're like, kill him now.
[00:56:24] And they all start shooting at.
[00:56:26] And then the guy shoots him right in the head almost like part of his mask comes
[00:56:31] off and his hair starts sticking out.
[00:56:32] I was like, oh,
[00:56:34] that's the closest Lloyd's ever come to death so far.
[00:56:37] Besides, maybe unless you count the clock tower bomb.
[00:56:39] Well, no, no, no.
[00:56:40] I was going to say yours cooking.
[00:56:42] But
[00:56:44] this is a your forger original cuts to both of them dead on the floor.
[00:56:48] And it's like, oh, no.
[00:56:51] But yeah, so like a huge gun fight just starts on the in the
[00:56:59] bridge. And actually, we forgot a point earlier in the thing.
[00:57:03] But the gun scene is on you was trying to
[00:57:08] get one of those prizes from one of the pop gun games.
[00:57:12] Oh, yeah.
[00:57:12] And the guy was rigging it like most of those guys always do.
[00:57:16] And
[00:57:18] Lloyd sees right through it.
[00:57:19] So he does like this whole ricochet thing and knocks half of them off the wall.
[00:57:23] And he's like, you really shouldn't scam people.
[00:57:27] You should run an honest business for now.
[00:57:31] But that comes back during this fight
[00:57:33] in the bridge where he ricocheted bullets off the wall and hitting
[00:57:37] the freaking soldiers.
[00:57:40] Yeah, crazy.
[00:57:41] He's got that perk in Peggle where you're the unicorn.
[00:57:44] Yeah.
[00:57:45] Let you see where the ball is going to go.
[00:57:48] But eventually they have to resort to dirty tactics and they start using poison
[00:57:53] gas bombs. And of course, they all have masks.
[00:57:57] But Lloyd does not have one yet.
[00:57:58] And during this whole time, Anya is trying to escape,
[00:58:01] getting free from the rope with some of the most deranged animation
[00:58:06] in the entire film, by the way, is just Anya's face during this whole thing.
[00:58:10] I think one of the biggest selling points for this anime is Anya's funny faces.
[00:58:14] And so they were like, we're going to have a million.
[00:58:16] We need to we need to dedicate a team just to make weird faces for Anya,
[00:58:21] especially when she needs to poop.
[00:58:23] She's going to have the worst faces.
[00:58:26] The most relatable faces because we've all been there at one point or another.
[00:58:31] But yeah, so she's trying to escape from the rope and she eventually does.
[00:58:35] And as she does this, she starts bashing her head against
[00:58:38] the electronic panels, which I like bashes her head in a lot
[00:58:43] in this movie now that I think about it.
[00:58:44] She's got a hard head.
[00:58:46] She does not a lot of thoughts going on in there.
[00:58:48] So no, not at all.
[00:58:51] But she by doing this, she accidentally triggers the windows opening
[00:58:55] and that actually releases the gas conveniently so Lloyd doesn't die.
[00:59:00] And during the confusion, he steals the general's identity.
[00:59:05] And then they have the whole like they literally do the Spider-Man.
[00:59:08] It's not you. It's me.
[00:59:10] Like pointing at each other, pointing at each other.
[00:59:13] It's so it's so cool because the whole time I think that's another moment where
[00:59:18] it's the first time we've actually seen in real time him change identities,
[00:59:22] because I think you could imagine that each time he does it, it just jump cuts.
[00:59:27] So like there's time where he's stealing
[00:59:29] the identity, like in the closet with the last guy.
[00:59:31] But then he literally does it in like a few seconds while they're fighting
[00:59:37] and like before the guys decide to get up and look.
[00:59:40] It's so he's doing that instantly.
[00:59:43] Yeah, and they end up
[00:59:45] defeating, he ends up defeating the guy and basically convincing them.
[00:59:49] He's like, all right, I've defeated the imposter.
[00:59:51] Now everyone evacuate the ship and get out of here.
[00:59:54] I really like that scene, too, because like it's it's not like a different art
[00:59:57] style, but the aesthetic is different because they're fighting like
[01:00:01] they're both the same character, but then they just impose Lloyd over it.
[01:00:04] And then Lloyd's like blue and he's like another color.
[01:00:06] I can't remember probably red.
[01:00:08] And then they're fighting that way.
[01:00:09] It's really cool.
[01:00:11] Yeah.
[01:00:11] And then, of course, we then cut to the climax of
[01:00:16] your fighting type F and it's basically like a one sided battle because like
[01:00:22] the man is straight up made of metal and it's like, look, yours weapons aren't
[01:00:26] doing much, even though she has a fucking axe at one point and everything.
[01:00:31] But the way she defeats it is pretty epic.
[01:00:33] She uses the lipstick and draws like this flower pattern around him.
[01:00:38] And then she's like, oh, yeah, by the way,
[01:00:41] lipstick is mostly oil and she lights it on fire and then just like, boom.
[01:00:45] Yeah. See, that was set up in the Japanese version when she said
[01:00:49] that her lipstick was oily and that was bothering her.
[01:00:52] So it's weird if they took that out in the translation.
[01:00:56] I don't know.
[01:00:57] I think it's because like, you know,
[01:00:59] I actually was reading some comments on it, and I feel like a lot of people
[01:01:03] didn't like how she won the fight because of that, because the oily the oil
[01:01:09] didn't make sense as much.
[01:01:10] It was brought up twice in the Japanese.
[01:01:13] I think they only really brought it up at the end.
[01:01:16] So I think due to that translation error, it might have actually affected
[01:01:20] people's perception of like how they were like, how did this work
[01:01:25] in terms of the.
[01:01:26] I didn't know that there was oil and
[01:01:28] lipsticks. And when I first saw it, I was like, is that a transmutation circle?
[01:01:34] Is she going to pull that off?
[01:01:36] What happened?
[01:01:38] See, I didn't think anything of it.
[01:01:40] I just like that was cool.
[01:01:43] I was like, oh, cool. Nice.
[01:01:45] Also, also, I'm not going to lie.
[01:01:47] The the seat when she's fighting there, they fucking zoomed in on her ass so
[01:01:51] many fucking times and I was like, well, yes, I was like,
[01:01:54] you watch Dragon Ball Super.
[01:01:56] I'm aware that's what they do with movies.
[01:01:58] They show the power is stored in the glutes.
[01:02:02] I was just like, there was so many points
[01:02:04] where like yours like bent over, like leading back and it just zooms in on her
[01:02:07] ass, I'm like, it's like, OK, animators, I get it.
[01:02:10] I think that's funny because I probably didn't.
[01:02:12] I don't remember noticing that that much.
[01:02:14] But every time they talk, I have to glance down at the bottom
[01:02:18] of the screen real quick.
[01:02:19] So I wonder if like a lot of the shots were when I'm looking at the
[01:02:22] subtitles for a moment, because when you're at IMAX,
[01:02:26] you have to like physically look down and then physically look back up.
[01:02:29] It's like the huge screen.
[01:02:32] Yeah.
[01:02:33] But eventually, so that gets taken care of and the fucking ship is exploding
[01:02:38] in peril at this point and going down really fast.
[01:02:42] And eventually,
[01:02:44] Lloyd finds Anya down below and he's he's mad at her for like everything.
[01:02:48] But at the same time, he can't be that mad because it's like
[01:02:51] he's just happy to see her.
[01:02:53] He's glad she's not cut open.
[01:02:54] Yeah. Yeah.
[01:02:55] And then as they're herself,
[01:02:58] he had no idea about any of that.
[01:03:00] Yeah, he's probably never he doesn't need to know.
[01:03:04] Yeah.
[01:03:04] But I'm as
[01:03:07] as they're climbing up to the bridge, you're just fucking appears out of nowhere.
[01:03:11] And Lloyd's like, you're how are you here?
[01:03:15] She's like, oh, I wanted to we wanted to make this a family vacation.
[01:03:20] So I hopped in the plane and he just buys it.
[01:03:22] He's like, OK, sure.
[01:03:24] Yeah, that makes sense for someone with a photographic memory.
[01:03:27] He just forgets that he crash landed the plane into the blimp and it blew up.
[01:03:31] Basically.
[01:03:32] Yeah.
[01:03:32] He's like, OK, that makes sense.
[01:03:35] And the funny thing is that he assumes that the fire was caused by him.
[01:03:38] But really, you're blowing everything up.
[01:03:40] Yeah.
[01:03:43] So then we get literally my favorite moment in the film is the point where
[01:03:47] like, well, it's like this thing's going down.
[01:03:49] I got to turn it somehow.
[01:03:50] And he's like going through all the things and yours.
[01:03:52] Like, Lloyd, you know how to fly one of these.
[01:03:54] Like, you know how to fly an airship?
[01:03:56] He goes, oh, yeah, I took a class in it when I was in college.
[01:04:01] And your yours like, oh, that makes total sense.
[01:04:04] And it just cuts to a shot of your smiling.
[01:04:07] And Anya has the biggest look of disappointment on her face.
[01:04:12] She's got this look like, really, dude, like
[01:04:17] that was great.
[01:04:18] My favorite scene is the one coming up after this one.
[01:04:22] So I think I know what you're talking about.
[01:04:24] So the things crash landing and he's
[01:04:26] like manning the wheel because it's like one of the few things that still
[01:04:29] functions on the ship and he can't really get it over because it's like
[01:04:33] locked over and you're in on you come over to help him.
[01:04:36] And they get the things spinning and on you just going around.
[01:04:41] The entire time, it's a very touching
[01:04:44] moment where things are like falling on him and he's starting to bleed.
[01:04:47] And then your shows up and grabs it.
[01:04:48] And then on is there and you're
[01:04:50] like, oh, you're probably not going to help too much.
[01:04:52] But then they finally spin it and on you still holding on.
[01:04:55] It's like so it's really nice moment.
[01:04:58] What's great, though, is they'll shut the cut the scenes of like your
[01:05:01] and like Lloyd looking very serious and like determined.
[01:05:04] And then you just got on you're going, well, well, well,
[01:05:07] in the corner.
[01:05:08] It's like this is this is why I love the show.
[01:05:12] And then, of course, they finally crash land in the river.
[01:05:16] And they're all just like, we survived.
[01:05:19] And then a gush of water just coats them.
[01:05:22] They the scene where they're in the water and all the mist starts coming down
[01:05:27] and it starts sparkling and everything that looks amazing.
[01:05:29] And I've actually did that was such an awesome scene.
[01:05:33] And it's like super heartwarming.
[01:05:35] And then they just get fucking splat.
[01:05:37] Yeah. Again, right away.
[01:05:39] All they can do is laugh because it's the funniest thing.
[01:05:45] And then, of course, we cut back to where.
[01:05:48] Oh, yeah.
[01:05:48] Then Lloyd finds the microchip was stuck in her tooth the entire time.
[01:05:52] Oh, my God.
[01:05:53] Yes.
[01:05:54] So the shit arc was entirely pointless for nothing.
[01:05:58] Why not?
[01:06:00] But of course, then he's like, ah,
[01:06:02] I can bring this back and I can stay with my family now.
[01:06:06] And she's going to get a Stella, maybe.
[01:06:09] Nope. This is a movie.
[01:06:11] We can't have any continuity.
[01:06:14] So, of course, we cut back and they assume
[01:06:17] that she figured out how to cook the meal and we get a scene of.
[01:06:23] We get a scene of them preparing the meal.
[01:06:26] And of course, Damian has to be a douche nugget and like,
[01:06:30] feel like, oh, you know, Mary, Mary, what a what a peasant food or
[01:06:35] something like that, and then she she makes fun of him or
[01:06:39] something or he gets embarrassed about sharing it or something.
[01:06:43] Oh, yeah.
[01:06:43] She's like, I was going to give you a piece.
[01:06:46] And he was like, you can give me a piece.
[01:06:48] Like he was all like, it was.
[01:06:50] Yeah.
[01:06:51] Yeah.
[01:06:51] Typical Damian, Anya shenanigans.
[01:06:55] And then, uh, yeah, pretty much.
[01:06:59] And then it cuts to an explosion and you're like, oh, no.
[01:07:02] What happened this time?
[01:07:04] I totally thought it was Anya who just like destroyed the kitchen.
[01:07:07] So I was I was a little surprised.
[01:07:10] Yeah.
[01:07:11] It's like they cut back to the kitchen.
[01:07:13] It's just you and Lloyd hanging out.
[01:07:15] And then Anya shows up and Anya is just dejected.
[01:07:18] He's like, oh, no.
[01:07:19] What happened?
[01:07:20] She's like, oh, the kitchen exploded
[01:07:22] and the headmaster had to leave, the principal had to leave.
[01:07:25] So we're actually going to have someone else test our food.
[01:07:28] I think it's the vice principal, right?
[01:07:31] I think so.
[01:07:32] Yeah.
[01:07:32] And he's like Lloyd's immediate like,
[01:07:36] he's like, I know what his favorite food is.
[01:07:38] I saw it in a newspaper and they're like, let's go on another adventure.
[01:07:44] And then you get this.
[01:07:45] This part is like Bond like predicts
[01:07:47] the future and it's like a fun, happy vacation.
[01:07:50] Yeah, it's just the three of them chilling in the water.
[01:07:53] And he just all of a sudden blushes and smiles.
[01:07:55] And then it's like, oh, that was cute.
[01:07:58] Um, so I have to ask,
[01:08:01] did you stay for the extra credit after credit scene?
[01:08:04] Of course I did.
[01:08:05] OK,
[01:08:06] so Alex wanted to go and I was like, no, no, no.
[01:08:09] We have to we have to know.
[01:08:11] Well, I was it was like midnight at this point, though.
[01:08:15] Like it was like very late and I was so tired.
[01:08:20] But anyway, but unfortunately,
[01:08:22] Marvel movies have changed the meta now where every movie has to have an
[01:08:26] after credit scene. I mean, Anya,
[01:08:29] Spidey does this quite often, actually, like true.
[01:08:32] A handful of their episodes also have like post credit, like extras.
[01:08:36] Oh, yeah.
[01:08:36] There's an entire like subplot involving your and Yuri that takes place after
[01:08:42] the credits to an episode that you can completely miss that if you
[01:08:46] get skipped the next episode.
[01:08:48] Yeah, because I remember because I
[01:08:50] I grabbed my controller and I moved the thing and on Crunchyroll,
[01:08:52] it's like it's like two thirds of the way through.
[01:08:55] And I'm like, what?
[01:08:56] Why is there so much episode left?
[01:08:58] So I think Crunchyroll actually fixed
[01:09:00] it, though, because I remember when I went back and rewatched season one after
[01:09:04] being like season two is really great.
[01:09:06] I remember that episode and I remember I hit skip and then it brought it just
[01:09:11] skipped me to that part so it skipped the credits.
[01:09:13] So I think Crunchyroll might have fixed some of that stuff.
[01:09:17] Maybe that's also right, because they
[01:09:18] skip the opening credits with the button to.
[01:09:20] Yeah.
[01:09:22] And this is one of their like flagships, isn't it?
[01:09:24] So it's one of the biggest animes in America right now.
[01:09:30] I believe that and Freire and resist that face.
[01:09:34] True, true.
[01:09:36] But oh yeah, we also I forgot to mention, too, when Lloyd is giving
[01:09:40] Sylvia or Handler the bottle of wine that contains the microfilm,
[01:09:46] she's like, oh yeah, by the way,
[01:09:47] the the guy that we were going to get to replace you.
[01:09:50] Yeah, he got outed as a cheater and it shows a picture of him with
[01:09:53] the girl that Frankie was talking to.
[01:09:55] And it's like, oh, it's like that.
[01:09:59] Oh, yeah. And then Frankie.
[01:10:01] Yeah, Frankie.
[01:10:02] So the poor after credit scene for Frankie.
[01:10:04] He's he's in he's in like Fergus with the fucking cherry liquor.
[01:10:10] He's like, Lloyd, like, wait, he's like, where are you?
[01:10:14] Yeah, because everyone just completely forgot that he told him to show up.
[01:10:19] Yeah.
[01:10:20] I honestly forgot until that scene.
[01:10:23] I was like, oh, yeah, that was a scene.
[01:10:25] It's funny because it slowly pans down and you see his Afro first.
[01:10:29] And as soon as I saw that, I was like, oh, no, no.
[01:10:32] Frankie.
[01:10:36] Imagine how different the series would be if he was the wife.
[01:10:40] Yeah, I'd like to see one episode of them just trying it out and then just
[01:10:46] be like, all right, bad clean, that's still one of my favorite on your lines
[01:10:50] were like, on you're like, I don't want this, mom.
[01:10:55] Oh, he throws a fit, he gets offended.
[01:10:59] He does.
[01:11:00] Also, when your rips his robot of armor apart and he does, he's just so he's so
[01:11:06] upset and horrified because you're yours kind of a freak of nature.
[01:11:09] Yes.
[01:11:11] Isn't it just is
[01:11:14] that was a very, very poor summarization because I forget things every time.
[01:11:20] And the hardest thing we did only like it's not like we can go and
[01:11:24] rewatch it right now, true legally.
[01:11:28] I can't believe with your own face.
[01:11:33] Yeah, and I watched when I watched it, I wasn't I wasn't going I didn't know I was
[01:11:37] going to be on a show talking about it, so I was just kicking back.
[01:11:40] Yeah, I was going the movie.
[01:11:43] It's true.
[01:11:44] I really did.
[01:11:45] I really like the movie, though, like, honestly, like this is like I gave it
[01:11:50] a nine out of ten, I think, on my any list.
[01:11:53] I I thought this was like a perfect film for this series.
[01:11:59] Yeah, I really, really liked it.
[01:12:01] I'm so excited for all my I have been
[01:12:03] preaching the gospel of my family since it came out and all of my friends, a
[01:12:08] lot of them who only watch like Naruto and Jujutsu Kaisen or whatever it's
[01:12:12] called, they were very skeptical of it.
[01:12:15] And then they started watching it.
[01:12:16] They're like, this is actually pretty good because it I think this movie
[01:12:21] perfectly sums up what Spy Family is as well, because it is just a little bit
[01:12:24] of everything. Like it's got the cute family moments.
[01:12:27] It's got the love scenes.
[01:12:28] It's got the it's got the action scenes where there's explosions and stuff.
[01:12:32] It's got like the slice of life, little like cute moments.
[01:12:35] It's like a little bit of everything
[01:12:39] that in like the three main characters are just so well developed and like
[01:12:43] so likable that like you just like it just brings you joy to watch, honestly.
[01:12:49] Yeah.
[01:12:51] Um, yeah.
[01:12:52] So like the animation was great.
[01:12:54] I love the soundtrack.
[01:12:56] We watched the dub.
[01:12:57] I really enjoyed the dubbing.
[01:12:58] Like I love the voice cast that they have for the series.
[01:13:03] I'm assuming the sub was good, too.
[01:13:05] Yeah, the sub is incredible.
[01:13:06] Everyone all the voice actors are there and everything.
[01:13:08] I didn't expect anything to go right there.
[01:13:12] Um, as far as like the new characters.
[01:13:15] Yeah, I think that everyone sounded good.
[01:13:16] I liked how the evil guy sounded because like the moment you see him,
[01:13:19] you're like, this guy's a bastard.
[01:13:21] And then you hear him and you're like, oh, he's for sure a bastard.
[01:13:24] I hate this guy.
[01:13:26] He lives in those the two those two dudes didn't supposedly die.
[01:13:30] Yeah.
[01:13:33] Did they deserve it? I don't know.
[01:13:36] Well, they did try to murder Anya.
[01:13:40] So we forgot to mention one of them was like this weird,
[01:13:43] like ritualist guy, like who always had like he was really into horoscopes
[01:13:48] and he was going by the horoscopes.
[01:13:50] And he was like, yeah, my but I think it's also like,
[01:13:53] I don't know if that's bigger in Japan, like following your horoscope and stuff.
[01:13:57] I don't know if that is.
[01:13:58] I think it's a different thing than what we call a horoscope.
[01:14:01] Yeah, I think they're doing something different,
[01:14:04] but I don't remember what they were calling it.
[01:14:05] I think it was horoscopes in the dub as well.
[01:14:08] But he was literally doing a ritual at one point to get on you to take a shit.
[01:14:13] Yeah, it looked like an exorcism.
[01:14:16] I think that was the joke they were going for, to be honest,
[01:14:19] because Adya is like squirming around in pain on the bed.
[01:14:24] And he's like, he's got his shirt off and he's doing this weird ritual
[01:14:28] in the corner and it's like, what is this movie?
[01:14:31] It's like, I love it. But what am I watching right now?
[01:14:35] And then the other guy was like full on going to cut her open, too.
[01:14:38] Like he was full on committed to it.
[01:14:40] I think they rock paper, scissored for it, didn't they?
[01:14:44] Yeah, I think the implication was like
[01:14:46] the horoscope guy wouldn't have done it.
[01:14:48] And the other guy was like, full on like he's like, fine, I have to do it.
[01:14:54] I'm trying. Was it the horoscope guy that ended up losing?
[01:14:57] Yeah, he did because he was like
[01:14:59] he was over in the corner, like trying not to throw up.
[01:15:06] We never did get a resolution, though, on the owner of the restaurant.
[01:15:11] He kind of just disappears.
[01:15:12] I kind of wish we did.
[01:15:15] Yeah, we stole his big plane.
[01:15:16] That was a big part of his restaurant.
[01:15:18] Maybe that's why he was mad about the
[01:15:20] mother.
[01:15:22] Yeah.
[01:15:24] Actually, I was always wondering, like, did they even go back to like
[01:15:26] get the Mary Mary from or did they just take the ingredients and run?
[01:15:30] I feel like it's probably implied that they did.
[01:15:33] Yeah, since that was like the whole point of them going there.
[01:15:37] But I don't know.
[01:15:39] It's such a silly movie.
[01:15:41] I loved it, though.
[01:15:42] Yeah.
[01:15:43] It was very.
[01:15:44] Oh, they probably didn't because of a Frankie Frankie showing up and Lloyd
[01:15:50] was already gone.
[01:15:50] So I guess they probably left right after that because they had the mini film
[01:15:54] or whatever. True.
[01:15:56] That's very true.
[01:15:58] Oh, man, I did like how, though, the movie and the way it ends is like they
[01:16:02] tie up the whole loose end of Lloyd possibly getting taken off the
[01:16:07] mission. And then they also tie.
[01:16:09] They tie out the loose end of on you can't get any more Stella start.
[01:16:13] Like Stella's because that would contradict the manga.
[01:16:17] So they had to write some way to make it so no one gets one.
[01:16:21] Yeah.
[01:16:23] It's like, oh, the kitchen exploded.
[01:16:25] So no Stella's for anybody.
[01:16:27] That was because I was thinking that just some rando was going to get it
[01:16:31] like, you know, like as it was hyping up that what's his name?
[01:16:34] Second son was going to get it probably if it wasn't on you.
[01:16:38] But he gets he gets a bunch in the manga.
[01:16:40] So it's like they have to like, they can't interfere with the manga.
[01:16:44] So I wonder if he'll bring it back, though, at some point, like if he'll tie
[01:16:48] it back into the story, I wonder if reference it because it endo wrote it.
[01:16:53] So I feel like it's it's canon enough.
[01:16:56] Yeah. Or at least like the second one, like where they go.
[01:16:58] I don't know.
[01:17:00] Oh, yeah.
[01:17:01] I'm looking forward to the next season of the anime, though, when that
[01:17:04] eventually happens, because I've read the manga up to like where
[01:17:08] it's released in America right now.
[01:17:10] And there is an arc coming up that is fucking amazing.
[01:17:14] I'm so excited, man.
[01:17:16] I know I can't wait.
[01:17:18] Oh, man.
[01:17:20] But yeah, any other final thoughts on Code White?
[01:17:25] It's good and you should go see it.
[01:17:28] Is it still in theaters?
[01:17:29] Oh, I think it's I think it's I think it's got one more week because it got
[01:17:34] a legit release. It wasn't like one of those fathom event things.
[01:17:38] Yeah.
[01:17:40] Yeah, you should definitely go see this, though.
[01:17:43] Is anyone else looking forward to that
[01:17:45] spy family video game for the switch? I'm getting it.
[01:17:47] Yeah, for sure.
[01:17:48] Even though it's just like a thing of many games, isn't it?
[01:17:50] It's like Pokemon Snap, but with Anya.
[01:17:54] That's all we need.
[01:17:55] There's a scene from because it's already out in Japan.
[01:17:58] Someone posted a clip from it where
[01:18:00] it's the three of them in an art gallery and Anya keeps trying to get
[01:18:03] Yor to pose for a photo and you can keep doing the thing and Yor will keep trying
[01:18:09] to pose and then she'll get embarrassed because no one's taking a photo.
[01:18:13] And then Lloyd just shakes his head in the corner and like just goes,
[01:18:18] there's also a great scene where
[01:18:20] Lloyd and Yor are like flirting and then you could be Anya in the
[01:18:23] background being a little shit ruining the moment.
[01:18:26] Accurate.
[01:18:27] It's great.
[01:18:29] I can't wait.
[01:18:30] I got to get that to you.
[01:18:32] Nice.
[01:18:33] But thanks for joining us, Niamh.
[01:18:34] This was fun. Yeah, thank you.
[01:18:36] Yeah, this is sweet.
[01:18:37] I was
[01:18:39] I was excited to talk about it because I don't know.
[01:18:42] I don't know anyone in my real life that went to go see it.
[01:18:44] So I just had it all bottled up inside.
[01:18:46] I can't tell anyone about it.
[01:18:47] So this felt good.
[01:18:48] Cathartic. Yay.
[01:18:50] It's fun talking about these movies, too, because
[01:18:54] it's a series that's really popular in America right now.
[01:18:58] But I feel like it's still anime.
[01:18:59] It's still kind of like an anime that isn't mainstream to a degree.
[01:19:05] Mm hmm. Yeah, I can see that.
[01:19:07] Like it's definitely not like the my hero and the JJK and yeah,
[01:19:13] all the other stuff that all my friends are generally watching.
[01:19:17] Yeah, Demon Slayer.
[01:19:18] Did you did build?
[01:19:19] Did you see my picture on Discord now?
[01:19:21] Oh, the the the girl from Demon Slayer with the monster.
[01:19:25] Yeah. Instead of the thing, it's a monster.
[01:19:27] Did you drink? Yeah.
[01:19:29] That was good.
[01:19:32] Look at this for my birthday.
[01:19:35] Philip got me this last year.
[01:19:37] That is that is perfection.
[01:19:40] Wonderful for the listener.
[01:19:42] Yeah, it's a notebook.
[01:19:44] But it's somebody drew is painted on.
[01:19:46] So this isn't like Merger.
[01:19:47] Oh, nice.
[01:19:48] That's so but it's on you crying.
[01:19:50] And like the only reason it's right here is because I was on your crying.
[01:19:55] She doesn't want to study.
[01:19:56] I mean, I get it.
[01:19:58] I think we've all been on you.
[01:20:00] I got the most adorable your figure recently, too.
[01:20:03] Oh, is it the one?
[01:20:04] It's the one of her playing.
[01:20:05] Bye.
[01:20:06] Yeah, the one of her playing tennis.
[01:20:08] I feel like the tennis racket should be broken.
[01:20:11] Well, no, she didn't break the racket.
[01:20:12] She she murdered the ball.
[01:20:14] Oh, yeah.
[01:20:14] Everybody should cut the ball into pieces.
[01:20:16] Oh, yeah.
[01:20:17] The other person broke their racket.
[01:20:19] Look at this hoodie.
[01:20:21] Oh, that's adorable.
[01:20:22] Oh, and it's got Chimera,
[01:20:25] which no Chimera in the show.
[01:20:27] I think she popped.
[01:20:28] He popped up for like a second.
[01:20:30] Mr.
[01:20:31] Chimera, the spy family merch is surprisingly everywhere.
[01:20:37] Oh, yeah.
[01:20:38] Anya is a fucking phenomenon.
[01:20:40] She is because she's perfect.
[01:20:44] I love all the male cosplayers for Anya.
[01:20:47] It brings me joy whenever I see them.
[01:20:50] You go to a convention, it's just a bunch of dudes cosplaying his on.
[01:20:53] And it's like, yep.
[01:20:55] I saw this video of like there was like
[01:20:57] 80 Anyas walking through a convention hallway and like they were just all
[01:21:02] walking in a straight line, like in a file, like an army.
[01:21:06] It was great.
[01:21:07] I saw a great video.
[01:21:09] It was a it was a Jack Sparrow cosplayer getting chased by a little girl
[01:21:13] cosplaying his on holding a knife,
[01:21:17] Jack Sparrow running away.
[01:21:18] I know I think she had his sword and she was chasing him with it.
[01:21:22] It was great.
[01:21:23] Which is something she would do.
[01:21:25] Yeah, honestly.
[01:21:28] Oh, but so did you want to plug your show, Neve?
[01:21:33] Oh, yeah.
[01:21:35] Well, I'm one half of gaming together,
[01:21:36] cooperative podcast where it's a comedy show.
[01:21:40] And so we really just kind of shoot the shit and we talk about video games.
[01:21:43] Sometimes we had Bill on to talk about RuneScape
[01:21:47] and we got Bill on a bunch of times.
[01:21:49] So he's only a good handful of episodes.
[01:21:50] Just search Bill,
[01:21:53] Gene C.
[01:21:55] Just know just Google Bill.
[01:21:57] You'll find that's it.
[01:21:59] Just if you want to know the context of the episodes I've been on,
[01:22:03] just search Send the Long Furby below and you'll find one of the episodes.
[01:22:07] Yeah, it makes sense in context.
[01:22:10] So you can talk about long furbies.
[01:22:12] But if I said, oh, trust me, it's a gram.
[01:22:14] You don't appreciate it.
[01:22:16] Trust me, Alex.
[01:22:17] I did not start that conversation.
[01:22:20] I did. He was he didn't appreciate it when I brought it up either.
[01:22:23] No, now I know who to send them to someone who will appreciate.
[01:22:29] Oh, yeah, I enjoy not being able to sleep because I'm paralyzed with fear.
[01:22:34] Yes.
[01:22:35] The answer is only yes.
[01:22:37] Yeah. And of course, we mentioned earlier,
[01:22:40] but Neve was also on our Uncharted episode and our RuneScape,
[01:22:43] one of our RuneScape episodes earlier on in this year.
[01:22:48] I can't remember how long ago it's been because it's been time as a concept.
[01:22:53] Yeah, it all blends together, especially when you start looking at your catalog
[01:22:57] of episodes and I'm just I don't remember half of this.
[01:22:59] I don't know what we talked about in any of this.
[01:23:01] We're about to hit two.
[01:23:03] We're about to hit 200.
[01:23:05] What happened?
[01:23:06] When did that happen?
[01:23:10] Yeah, I think we literally just crossed 150 just now.
[01:23:14] It goes quick and you're just like, when?
[01:23:16] Like when was this?
[01:23:17] I don't remember.
[01:23:19] But yeah, so once again, guys, thanks for joining us on gaming.
[01:23:25] It was about to say gaming together.
[01:23:27] My show.
[01:23:29] Oh, no.
[01:23:31] Thanks for joining us on gaming and collecting.
[01:23:34] You can find the gaming collecting podcast and all your major podcasting
[01:23:37] platforms, particularly Apple podcast and Spotify.
[01:23:40] You can also find the episodes on YouTube with video versions occasionally.
[01:23:43] I guess.
[01:23:44] And you can also find all of our links at Linktree slash The Barber Who Games.
[01:23:49] Or if you'd like, you can join the GNC
[01:23:50] podcast network Discord server to find all things GNC, the 3DO experience,
[01:23:54] geek addicts, talk gaming, anime, general nonsense, Alex post water bottle
[01:23:59] propaganda, and we have a really weird obsession with Kermit the Frog over there.
[01:24:02] I don't know.
[01:24:04] It just happened one day.
[01:24:07] That's all obsessions, Dan.
[01:24:10] It's like, honestly, like everybody has every server on
[01:24:15] this cord, like in the podcast community, everybody has their one gimmick per
[01:24:19] their server, and that just kind of is the thing.
[01:24:22] And ours is Kermit for whatever reason.
[01:24:24] Yeah.
[01:24:25] But anyways, guys, once again,
[01:24:28] thank you for joining us and we will see you all later.
[01:24:31] Bye bye. See you.
[01:24:35] I'm looking.
