[00:02:19] But then at the end of the class, I gave them a heart attack because I was landing a

[00:02:24] jump and I didn't land it right.

[00:02:26] And they're like, dear God, someone literally broke their ankle last week.

[00:02:29] So they were like, paying her like, Alex, no!

[00:02:32] And I was like, I'm fine.

[00:02:34] I just twisted it but that doesn't work.

[00:02:36] I'm fine as I fall to the ground.

[00:02:39] I was fine.

[00:02:40] Like I know, like I've sprayed my ankle before so I know when it's bad versus when it's

[00:02:46] fine.

[00:02:50] My ankle hurts more because I've been doing, I mean using like KT tape, like that tape

[00:12:34] But yeah, we're going to be talking about Tomodachi Life and 3DS.

[00:12:48] So yeah, do you remember how you got Tomodachi Life or was it because I bought it and then

[00:12:53] you wanted it?

[00:12:54] I think it was the situation of you got it and I wanted it and then I got it.

[00:13:02] Well yeah, because this game was definitely a holdover for you during your animal crowd.

[00:13:07] You were burned out on Animal Crossing and needed something else to play and this is

[00:13:10] right up your alley for a game.

[00:13:12] Yes.

[00:13:14] So a little backstory into Tomodachi Life.

[00:13:17] This game is actually a sequel, believe it or not.

[00:13:20] Oh, it is?

[00:13:22] Yes.

[00:13:23] There was a Japan only original DS game known as Tomodachi Collection released in 2009

[00:13:35] and gameplay wise, it was kind of the same.

[00:13:40] Basically the reason why it didn't make it over here was because the DS did not have a

[00:13:46] proper me thing and it was kind of one of those things where it was considered to weird.

[00:13:56] Yeah, this game is definitely that.

[00:14:01] Yeah, so the original one kind of just got pushed to the wayside over here and we ended

[00:14:09] up getting the sequel years later known as Tomodachi Life or in Japan, Tomodachi Collection

[00:14:15] New Life.

[00:14:17] And the best way to describe this game is literally you make a bunch of me's and you

[00:14:24] put them in a hotel like an apartment building and then you just watch shit happen.

[00:14:29] You can influence it sometimes.

[00:14:32] You can but at the same time though a lot of shit just kind of happens on its own and

[00:14:37] this game is very interesting because you can make any because me's are super customizable

[00:14:43] and very careful.

[00:14:46] You can make so many interesting storylines because you can make legit any care me's you want

[00:14:50] and put them in this game.

[00:14:52] And you can also like download like different me designs like with the QR code system.

[00:14:58] So if you found like so people would like post their QR codes of like the designs they

[00:15:04] made and then if you would probably find like right now I'm just like scrolling through

[00:15:08] pictures and I see like someone made like all of the Danganronpa characters.

[00:15:14] So you can literally download and put all the Danganronpa characters into your house or

[00:15:19] like the Vocaloid characters are like, oh there's Michael Jackson.

[00:15:22] Jesus.

[00:15:23] He was in my apartment.

[00:15:25] Yeah, Jesus was there.

[00:15:29] The game was designed like that you would make me's of all your friends and stuff but when

[00:15:37] you were two dorks who didn't have any friends you just resorted to downloading Michael Jackson

[00:15:44] me's and other weird shit you could find online.

[00:15:49] Like I think I had Naruto in my house even though I didn't play Naruto at all but he lived

[00:15:54] there.

[00:15:55] Now a days you'd have the full cast of one piece probably.

[00:15:58] Yes, I am tempted to go back and play just to do that and start over because I mean it's

[00:16:04] definitely a game where in theory you can continuously play it but I feel like you do

[00:16:10] hit walls at some point where you're just like running out of things to you.

[00:16:16] Well yeah eventually like any of game like this eventually.

[00:16:18] If you play it religiously like I did or like build it you eventually hit that wall.

[00:16:23] Now for the most part you can continue playing this forever because there's so many different

[00:16:27] things you can unlock in the game from like costumes and outfits to different food you

[00:16:33] can feed that your me's.

[00:16:35] What's your favorite?

[00:16:36] That they either like or hate.

[00:16:37] Yeah and it's really funny because if you like just hate someone and you're like if

[00:16:41] you don't which is funny because like it's like Animal Crossing or a random villager

[00:16:45] or a movement like you literally decide.

[00:16:48] So if you just decide you know what I made this person movement and I just fucking hate

[00:16:52] them.

[00:16:54] You can just do what you want and you can just torture them by feeding them all the food

[00:16:59] that they hate.

[00:17:01] My favorite too is like because it's like an apartment building the the the the me's will

[00:17:06] kind of go from apartment department and visit so occasionally you'll see like a little

[00:17:10] like bubble on the apartment window that says like a chat icon and you can pop in your

[00:17:15] meal.

[00:17:16] The either your meal wants something from you or they'll be having a conversation with say

[00:17:21] like another me's visiting or sometimes they're going to full out brawl which is my favorite.

[00:17:26] Oh, they're playing the airplane game.

[00:17:28] They play the air.

[00:17:29] Yeah I think I had Sonic doing that once because they were I had a Sonic me.

[00:17:35] I think it usually is like there's icons are usually you'll see like a little black character

[00:17:41] with like a little squiggly line box and that will be like they want something or like

[00:17:46] they need help with something if it's yellow.

[00:17:49] If it's like the little orange icon that usually means like oh though I think the black

[00:17:55] will have the squiggly lines means they're irritated or something.

[00:17:58] I think it's something that's annoying them are like I'm hungry.

[00:18:01] The green one usually means like they want to talk to you or like they want to like play

[00:18:06] game and then the yellow usually means they want to be friends with someone but the best

[00:18:11] one of all is when you get the pink heart one.

[00:18:14] Oh yeah because they your bees will date each other.

[00:18:21] They get married they have kids.

[00:18:24] I did actually just remember there was one very key thing in this game that is the actual

[00:18:30] reason why the original did not make it over here.

[00:18:32] I just remembered why.

[00:18:35] The AI voice generation.

[00:18:39] Oh yes.

[00:18:42] You can give all the bees have these like early AI like voices that they make and you

[00:18:49] can kind of adjust the pitch and like tone of the voices so you can make all the voices

[00:18:53] incredibly high or like extremely low and slow.

[00:18:58] Or just like really strange like I remember one of the characters was like she literally

[00:19:02] sound like it was like more like she just costly sounding like she was out of breath

[00:19:09] but high pitch at the same time I was like how does this happen but okay I'm going

[00:19:15] with it.

[00:19:16] You can make some characters sound like they were speaking in fart.

[00:19:19] Yes.

[00:19:20] Oh I've never seen this have you ever seen the like purple purple cloud?

[00:19:26] I don't think I ever saw the purple cloud playing.

[00:19:30] I don't remember to be honest it's been probably a decade since I played this.

[00:20:17] The voices are kind of important because the me's do talk to you and it's very uncanny

[00:20:29] So speaking of like the romances and stuff one thing that's very amusing in this game is

[00:20:36] they can like get married have kids but they can also break up and then hook up with

[00:20:41] others.

[00:20:43] Well that's funny because there's only a certain amount like of characters and eventually

[00:20:47] like it's either like you always have like a couple of people who are just the single

[00:20:52] for the rest of their life and they will only be single because no one else can come on

[00:20:56] your island.

[00:20:57] It's literally just the people like no one can really visit like it's just whoever is

[00:21:01] living in your little apartment building so like there's some that'll just be lonely

[00:21:06] forever and it's kind of sad but then there's some that will break up and then like the best

[00:21:12] part is it's like the confessing feeling scenes because you'll see the heart icon.

[00:21:19] So like yeah you'll go and you'll click on the you'll go see your me the heart icon

[00:21:25] and she'll be like I think I have feelings for someone or like it'll be like one of

[00:21:29] the characters and I'll be like I think I have feelings for Barry.

[00:21:33] I don't know.

[00:21:34] Barry's her name and he'll be like I'm gonna go confess your feeling and then like you

[00:21:40] it gives you options like where do you want to confess your feelings like the restaurant

[00:21:43] the beach the roof like a bunch of different options so you click one and the best part

[00:21:47] is like I love doing the beach one because whenever I do the beach one it always happens

[00:21:52] where another me yeah a third party will show up and sometimes they'll reject you and

[00:22:00] they'll get with the third party that show stuff.

[00:22:03] My favorite is when they go I'm sorry but neither of you.

[00:22:08] Yeah.

[00:22:10] Oh yeah because they reject you sometimes like they are they don't always accept and

[00:22:16] it's amazing because it just the mood just like stops and it's just over and it's like

[00:22:23] done.

[00:22:24] Oh you know what the purple clap it's blue I think in the game I think the screenshots

[00:22:29] making look different but when they're depressed because they got broken up with yeah that's

[00:22:34] when the clock comes in um yeah oh yeah that's the game is really good.

[00:22:41] Can you console them and make them feel better or they'll just be depressed in their apartment

[00:22:46] sometimes they get fights too well they're depressed and it's really sad.

[00:22:49] Yeah.

[00:22:50] This game is really good at being incredibly awkward at times.

[00:22:57] Like any time a rejection happens you're just like oh you can feel it.

[00:23:02] You're like oh no the guy is like it's great with multiple of this.

[00:23:08] To me it's the best one it's like random because the biggest joy of this game is just putting

[00:23:13] as many random fucking me in the game and like especially when you do like the pop culture

[00:23:19] route where you make all of them like different things it's the combinations are hilarious.

[00:23:25] It's so silly who ends up getting together too and it's just like it's very like it's

[00:23:30] so goofy and then the best part is when you like put these serious characters and then

[00:23:35] you just put them in the stupidest outfit like the hot dog outfit and because I think

[00:23:42] they'll usually ask them like should I change first and you're like well I have the outfit

[00:23:47] for you.

[00:23:48] I think at one time it was like this guy he was proposing to the girl like he was gonna

[00:23:54] propose and he's like well but she put on that I was like look at her close and I was

[00:23:57] like hamster suit like you're wearing the amps to suit the balls oh my god I think she's

[00:24:04] I think I failed with the mini game because it's a mini game to propose.

[00:24:08] Yeah he got rejected.

[00:24:16] It's such a stupid game there's also a lot of mini games in this game like there's like

[00:24:21] this weird RPG that you can play it is very uncanny.

[00:24:26] Oh yeah and then there's also it's just some of the stuff is funny too like there's

[00:24:31] the but there's like mini like I wouldn't call them mini games but they're more like

[00:24:34] of little mini task things that you have to do like when you have a baby sometimes the

[00:24:40] character would be like oh like can you just watch the baby for a second and like one

[00:24:44] of the games was like you'd like rock the baby to sleep by actually shaking your

[00:24:49] weed so if you're fucked up human being you can just start shaking it in the baby.

[00:24:55] It's terrible.

[00:24:56] Oh so you must have done that all the time.

[00:25:00] Well sometimes I would be actually trying to get it to work but it was so like particular

[00:25:05] because like you were literally rocking your weed back and you're not weed you're um

[00:25:10] you're switch back and forward.

[00:25:12] 3DS back what the fuck ever you're rocking it back and forward to get the freaking baby to

[00:25:18] sleep and it wouldn't work and I just get frustrated.

[00:25:28] I think after a while just like you stuck in this get out.

[00:25:35] Did you ever um so occasionally the measle go on dates did you ever make the dates as

[00:25:39] awkward as possible just for purpose?

[00:40:32] It would be interesting because like you would be doing your RPG battle stuff and like exploring.

[00:40:38] But then you'd get to like towns and little like ins and that's where you could have like your Tomo, Dachi lifestyle like social interactions.

[00:40:45] And they would be like romances that you could build up.

[00:40:48] And it was like if you're if you're.

[00:40:50] Romancing one character and then you all the sudden like.

[00:40:54] Start romancing another character, there'll be scenes where like it's like after you finish the romance scene it'll be like so and so was looking through the window they saw everything.

[00:41:07] Just a silly game like that me to be is actually worth a playthrough.

[00:41:11] It's a very goofy game that's kind of fun and I recommend playing it especially because it's on we know.
