[00:00:13] Video Games Analyzed, your number one source for reviewed classic games and letting you know if it's worth it to play them today or classic games. And I'm your host, Tommy, for Video Games Analyzed. And to discuss the video games with me, I have a guest every week. And this week's guest is Aaron. Hi, Aaron. Thank you for being here.

[00:00:39] Hey, man. So I hate to bring it up right now, but I was trying to get some Fritos out of the vending machine and it ain't my dollar. Can you give me a dollar? Is that... Today's game is Grand Theft Auto... Sorry, go ahead.

[00:00:58] Today's game that we're going to talk about is Grand... Today's game that we're going to talk about is Grand Theft Auto V or V. If you look at the cover, it has a V and a V. And I think that's a pretty interesting stylistic choice. Why do they keep putting Vs in there? What does the V stand for? I'm not sure. Grand Theft Auto Vengeance? Honestly, for this one it could be violent. I would not be surprised if it was violent.

[00:01:27] Oh! Grand Theft Auto Vehicular Manslaughter. Vehicular... Yeah, because it's auto vehicle. Yeah, that's... I'd have to say I agree with you. But this is a video game. Vigilante is... There's another one. That's a good one. Yeah, could be that too. Let's move on.

[00:01:49] This is a video game like other video games where you control characters to move through the world and it's got guns that you shoot as well. What makes this game truly unique and stand out from other video games that have come into existence is that you have three protagonists. That's a fancy word if you don't know the definition, feel free to look it up. Where you switch between them and they each have a part to play in the story.

[00:02:17] And as you play through the story, you get to experience more of it by playing as each of these three people. And it's Trevor and... Is it Ronald? No. Grand Theft Auto. It's Trevor and... It's Trevor... Michael and Franklin. Those are the three characters. Trevor, Michael and Franklin.

[00:02:46] It's like the founding fathers. And as you... There are choices to make in the game as well. One thing that is a big selling point of the game is that there are vehicles to drive as well. And I did enjoy driving the vehicles in this game. Each vehicle feels different to control and has like different speeds and they feel different when you turn.

[00:03:14] And it's just that kind of attention to detail that makes the Grand Theft Auto series unique. What did you... What did you like about the game? Or I guess, did you like the game, Aaron? You know, I liked it, but I couldn't get very far. Anytime I tried driving anywhere... Well, the car physics don't feel the best. I... Anytime I would try to drive anywhere, I would run over somebody and then the police would arrest me and then I would go to jail. Oh! And, uh...

[00:03:43] Well, that's why there's a speed limit. You just have to follow the speed limit. I'm assuming that there was a... Usually the people only cross the road at red lights. You have to wait your turn in traffic. Um... And, uh... Just kind of take your time going through things. Well, uh... Color Me is surprised. Alright. Yeah. It's okay. Alright. Other than that though, yeah, it was, uh... Uh... The...

[00:04:13] The weapons are pretty cool too. The... This game introduces many different types of weapons. Um... Like, like, uh... Like, uh... Like a pistol? Yes. Yes, I remember the pistol. Yep. You get a cool pistol. It's, uh... Uh... You get some assault rifles. Yeah! Rocket launchers. Yeah! You can just use your fists if you want. Yeah! And just beat people up. That was a cool addition. You don't have to have a gun. You don't need to waste ammo. You can just use your fists.

[00:04:43] Uh... That's nature's weapons, you know? Um... Nature's guns, I should say. Yeah. I believe this was the first game to have, uh... Multiple guns in it as well. Um... Other games just had one that you could use. And, um... Again, I can't imagine all the work it would take to... To program all the guns and the physics and... And the story and the graphics and the music and the...

[00:05:09] The walking animations and the weather effects and the... The roads and the buildings and some of the... The explorable buildings and the water. Those roads are so realistic. The planes and the trees, the animal life, like the different... Uh... The different ways the people that react to you and... The, um... The, um... The night, day-night cycle and... The, uh... Story, the story elements and the dialogue options and... And having to, uh...

[00:05:38] Cut scenes and... And the, um... The, the credits at the end and then having the controls where you, uh... You use the stick to move and... And the, the triggers to shoot guns and... And, uh... You can jump and reload. And, um... The buttons changing when you, when you go into a car... Where the, the trigger does the gas and the stick turns the car. And, and just all kinds of things. I can't imagine how they, they did all that stuff, but... Uh... They, they did. They made it work. And, uh...

[00:06:07] If I had to sum it up in, in one number, I would give Grand Theft Auto... Five... A four-star score. You know what? I would give it five stars because that's how many I had after driving on the sidewalk. Uh... Probably, probably like ten times. I would drive on the sidewalk and get a... You know, five-star rating with the police. And I, I just, I couldn't get anywhere in the game. Why did they do this? I... Sorry. Um... So... It's okay. You, you can, you can try it again.

[00:06:37] And, uh... Just drive slower is, is my advice. Okay. Thanks for checking out Video Games Analyzed. And I hope you check out Video Games Analyzed next week when, when I talk about a different game with a guest. Uh, keep on gaming! Bye!
