[00:00:14] Hello and welcome to Video Games Analyzed. This is the one and only podcast dedicated to analyzing and reviewing classic video games to tell you whether or not they're worth playing today. I'm your host Tommy and I am joined by guest Aaron. Hi Aaron, how are you? I'm doing well. No, that's a story for another time. I'm doing well. Good, good. Glad to hear it.
[00:00:41] Today we have a very, very special game to talk about. I would consider it the most special game. I mean, it's of all the video games. This is this is up there. I've been saving this one for a special time and I think that special time is now. We are talking about. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Developed by Sonic Team. Published by Sega.
[00:01:10] Directed by Shun Nakamura. Produced by Yuji Naka. Designed by Shun Nakamura and Atsushi Kano and Mizuki Haseo Yamada. Programmed by Yoshitaka Kawabata. Artist Hideaki Moriya. Composed Moriko Nanbi Tomoya Otani. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Jesus Christ, what a video game.
[00:01:37] I don't know what more I could say about it that hasn't already been said. You know, people are up there on their soapboxes, on their YouTube channels and other podcasts just raving about this game. It's got eggs, Tommy. It's the first game to ever have eggs, right? It's unbelievable the accomplishments that this game has accomplished. I mean, you know, they sent a golden disc out into space containing like humanity's greatest works of art.
[00:02:03] And it's unfortunate that this game came out after that golden disc was sent into space because I think you could have just trashed everything else that was on that disc and just send a disc of Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg for GameCube out into space. That would have been the summation of humanity's art in one go. There are times where I consider just leaving my entire family, just leaving them on the side of the road, selling everything we own just so I can have a copy of my beloved Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg.
[00:02:32] It's just that good. You're going to want to play it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. And over. Every time. Every time I've thought about killing myself, I don't do it because if I did, I wouldn't be able to play Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg anymore. That's what's keeping that. That's what keeps me going every day. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Let me tell you what I love the most about the game is that Billy Hatcher is just such a...
[00:03:02] He's such a... Thank you. He's such a relatable protagonist. Like, he... I mean, he's got the chicken suit. Who doesn't? The fingerless gloves. Yes, exactly. They have those in like in Naruto, Ocean's Eleven. I'm wearing them. And he's just... Oh, cool. Okay. Keep those hands warm. You've never... You have never pleasured yourself like you have when you're wearing fingerless gloves. Exactly. Exactly.
[00:03:33] We'll talk about that off the air. And just the way he interacts with all the other characters and forms those bonds with everybody. And then ultimately just beheads the antagonist at the end. And I don't want to spoil that. It's so graphic. I had to... I mean, not only was I... Not only was I... Were my eyes glued to the screen the entire time during the end of the game. But like, I was also kind of like...
[00:04:00] Just kind of dry heaving a little bit because of how graphic and disgusting it was. But... God, is it good? Moving. Touching even. Move over The Last of Us. This game will make you cry. Yes. Big manly man tears. Absolutely. 100%. Yeah. The other thing that I can say about Billy Hatcher and the giant egg that... I mean, there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said before. We all know that it's perfect. It's the perfect video game. It's...
[00:04:28] I don't even know why they're making any other video games because nothing... We didn't need any more video games after Billy Hatcher and the giant egg came out. That's all you need is this game. It's... I could play it, like you said, over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It's... It just gets me so emotional. Yeah. Yeah. I just... I wish it was a woman. I know. I know. I wish that every single... I wish I could snuggle with my copy. Well, the copy I don't have yet of Billy Hatcher and the giant egg.
[00:04:57] I wish I could snuggle it. Marry it. I wish I could, you know, make love to it. Mm-hmm. Of course. Maybe someday science will advance and we'll be able to do that. Oh, God. Please. Please, go. Tommy... No, sorry. This is your show. You give your rating first. No, that's okay. That's okay. We're on a high right now. We're on... I have to imagine this is what cocaine feels like. It's okay. Oh, yeah. I don't need drugs because I have Billy Hatcher and the giant egg.
[00:05:27] But yeah, let's give it a review score. I know that traditionally our review scale is five is the maximum. But I feel like with Billy Hatcher and the giant egg, I have to give it an infinity. Oh, okay. You know what? I'm going to give it... I'm going to give Billy Hatcher and the giant egg. We'll do four infinities and then one giant egg. Yeah. Okay, but like...
[00:05:53] I feel like when you say four infinities, you're saying that you like it more than me, which isn't true. But the scale goes... It goes up to five, though. I'm going to give it a total of five. But four infinities plus one egg, that's five. You know? That's just mad. I feel like you're trying to one-up me. Then redo your score. I don't know. Okay. I give it four infinities and an egg as well.
