Hello there, and welcome to Video Games Analyzed, the one and only podcast dedicated to analyzing and reviewing classic video games and to tell them to tell you whether or not they're worth playing today. I'm I'm your host and expert in video game analysis, Tommy. I I've this is a show I came up with, but I've I'm not alone. I've got a guest here as well, and then that guest is Aaron. Hello, Aaron.

Aaron:

Hello, Tommy. Thank you so much for having

Aaron:

me here. It really means a lot. God, what a what a great idea for a show. This is gonna be a a good fun time.

Aaron:

Yeah. And you you like video games? I I mean, I played a couple. I I've I've

Aaron:

played Banjo Tooie. Not the first one, though.

Aaron:

Okay. Okay. That's okay. Cool. Yeah.

Aaron:

Today's video game. We're gonna start with The Legend of Zelda Ocarina. Ocarina of Time.

Aaron:

There you go.

Aaron:

It came out in 1998 for the Nintendo 64. O o ocarina of its time is set in the fictional kingdom of Hyrule. You play as Link, and you have to go and and defeat Dan Dan Ganondorf. It's it's just okay. Let's talking about the game, I it's a good game.

Aaron:

The when when you're when you swing the the sword, it it it really feels like the the sword's swinging. And there's puzzles where a lot of puzzles, have to to think when you solve them, and and these ones are no different. You also have to think. And and that's just something that I I like in games. Like, you

Aaron:

you know what I'm saying, Aaron? No. 100%. I my favorite part of this game has to be the trees. I mean, the game is great.

Aaron:

All of it's great. The whole thing is great. It's Mhmm. Like, the the way the way you play it, you the trees, though. Okay.

Aaron:

So the trees, they they look like actual trees, but, of course, low poly, and I love that shit. I love that so much. It's gosh. The trees, Watch language. Oh, sorry.

Aaron:

Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Please don't hit me again. So back to the trees.

Aaron:

You were talking about Ganondorf. He he was also in the past Legend of Zelda games. He's in Smash Bros also. That's that's kinda cool. Interesting fun fact for everybody.

Aaron:

Wow. I didn't know that one.

Aaron:

Yeah. It's pretty cool.

Aaron:

You you mentioned polygons. This game has several polygons in it, and those really stood out to me. Mhmm.

Aaron:

They they used a bunch in the, in the trees, man. And I circling right back to Ganondorf, I'm sure they used a bunch of polygons in him as well too.

Aaron:

Yeah. Tons of shapes. Definitely. Another thing is it's got lots of music. Basically, anytime you're playing the game, there's music playing.

Aaron:

And I I thought that was an interesting idea because when, like, when you're when you're walking around the world, there isn't technically, like, music playing, but they decided to to have music playing all the time. And it's it's kind of like a mystery of where those tunes come from. And I don't know I don't I don't remember ever seeing if that was ever explained, but it it's it's a it's a neat mystery to have.

Aaron:

I I tell you what. Where are the balls on that horse? I, I've seen many horses in video games, and I just the horse the the horse isn't anatomically correct, Tommy. I

Aaron:

Well, is is eep Epon is is Epona a boy or a girl? Well,

Aaron:

I don't think I don't think we do genders anymore, but it's gotta have something. Boy Yeah. Girl. It I mean, it's gotta have junk, but good game, though. You know what?

Aaron:

I'm gonna give it no. You you go first. You get your rating first.

Aaron:

Yeah. Please. I mean, that's I mean, that's how we said it in the preshow. But so just to sum it up, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is a it's a a fully three d video game. You you swing your sword and you solve puzzles.

Aaron:

And I I think that's I think it's pretty good at those things. And as I mentioned before, there's music as well, which is also a a thing in the game. So all all that said, I'm I'm gonna give it four stars out of five stars.

Aaron:

That's good. I like that. And what about you, Aaron? You know what? I'm gonna give it seven stars, and I'm gonna drop a little n 64 controller in there.

Aaron:

Not the not not the Nintendo Nintendo 64 controller, but, like, a third party Nintendo 64 controller. So, yeah, seven stars, and the controller there. But fix the horse, though. Fix fix that that horse.

Aaron:

Okay. That's that's fine for today, but for the future, it's a five star scale. So we'll we'll just just cross those two out and and have it be five stars for now. Alright. So, yeah, that's Video Games Analyzed.

Aaron:

Thank you for checking it out, and we'll we'll see you on the next one. Keep gaming.
