Hello everybody, and welcome to another episode of Elder Trolls Gaming podcast. If you are new, we are three brothers who get together and talk about gaming. We may also talk tech, TV, movies and other nerdy things too, but today we are only two. I am take it easy John No and I'm danned Dolf the whys and the two of us will be discussing the PlayStation state of play from this past Thursday. We'll go through the games and give some of our thoughts. And Nasty is not here. He is in a Mexico, a Mexico, but I think he might pop in just say hello once in a while and give his two cents on things. What wait a minute, I think he just connected. Hey there, Nate, how's Mexico. Well, there's a there's some kind of drought or something. I don't know. Protests are now happening, and I'm here drinking, eating and shitting. He's a shocker, Yeah, he shocked. I don't doubt it. But how's the food there? These fucking muscle beach losers at that buffet, they're eating all the food they make. The omelet and sam and toast station lineup so long? Oh my god, man, muscle beach losers. You gotta get their protein, bro, They gotta get that fucking protein for it. They hit the gym at the resort, bro Man, I did that one NiFe. We fucking went, dude, the fucking nice gym up there a little bit and it was on the roof, like overlooking Cantcon. It was freaking I remember that. I totally blocked that out. I remember standing around when we went up there, standing around while we worked out, stood around. That's not true. Actually I changed into my I think I changed into my gym shit, and I tried some stuff. I didn't like, do anything crazy, but I was like, I'm not just gonna stand Typically I would just stand there, but I was like, wall whatever, I'll do something. I don't know what it was that I don't remember. Hit the buffet after yeah, and then just lay on the beach and disgusting, sweaty filth. Oh, Nate's got something else to say. I don't know if you guys know this, it may come as a shock to you, but Michael Jackson is alive. He's been in Mexico this whole time. I saw him perform last night in person. Uh you sure about that? Wow. Yeah, he was also at hours or when we went. I'm pretty sure he's alive. That sounds very fun. You'll me, Miguel Jackson, this Meg meg Jackson, Yaxxon. You'll be back this evening, I think. And you won't have to deal with any of those lines at the toast and am let stand anymore? Oh yeah, and you'll still be drinking, eating and shiating at all. Yeah, that's very true. Anyway, I think we can go into uh, we can head her on into game time here, we can get get this moving. Let's do it. So, welcome to game time. What are we playing? I have to say I have not really been playing much other than like multiplayer games like Heart and Stone, Battlegrounds, APEX Legends, and X Defiant. I haven't touched Dragon's Dogma two in like since I first started playing it like three weeks ago. Yeah, but I don't know. Nick from Friday Night game Casts is not enjoying it. He beat it and he said he's so he sowed a seed for me. I'm like, uh, do I want to play? You've played it for hours already? I have, I have, but I haven't got too much further. I did like some of the story. And the thing is I would still like to play more because I do really enjoy it. I really enjoy it. I don't know, but maybe again, maybe I haven't got to those points yet that are going to make me hate it like Nick has, you know, so, but again, it's just been a time commitment thing. It's been so much easier to just play easier games now, so I haven't. I also have not played as much Dragon's Dogma as I would have liked in the past few weeks. What have you been playing? Then? Well, I did officially download Fortnite, but to play Lego Fortnite. Okay, what yeah, so did you know this was the well you know, well, you know how Fortnite's always partnering with all this ship like they're doing all this pop culture stuff blah blah blah. You know, you got your I know they have some driving and racing season on y right now. Yeah, they've got like okay, well they've got different themes. I'm pretty sure there was another one that was out too, But anyway, they partnered up with Lego Official Lego and made their own like Lego Fortnite, so because you know, Lego's got a ship ton of. It's kind of more like, yeah, it's more like a builder survival crafting, kind of like Power World meets Minecraft meets Lego meets whatever. So it's not like the whole team death match thing. We just go around shooting each other or the battle rayl or whatever it is that that they original is. There is obviously still the building in it, but it's probably a bit different, Like you have schematics and different like levels to the building, like just like you do in building Lego sets, like you're like, oh, here's the base, now we're gonna start building the walls, and then you have to like collect Legos like instructions. Yeah, it's similar. It's similar because you have like different stages of the building and you have to go collect the right parts or the right materials to get all those done. You know, Lego has fingers in a lot of video gaming pies. There's like Lego Star Wars, There's Lego Friggin' Everything, There's Lego Batman, There's Lego everything that you can play video games. So they get I think that it was like a strong idea to partner with Fortnite. So now it's totally free and you can just log in and play Lego Fortnite and you like, I think you're If you're not buying skins, you're just assigned a random skin, I guess, which probably the same case with normal Fortnite. I don't know. And uh uh well, you choose whatever you want. If you don't have any, then you get the default. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, so I have many skins. Many I have. I have a Terminator, pretty cool. I have some Narudo ones also very cool. Yeah. I have some of the Battle Pass random ones. What else did I have that's cool? I have a Spider Man one. Might have a Spider Man that would be I don't remember. I haven't played in a while, but maybe I'll log in to check out this new season with the cars and stuff. Yeah uh well, it would be cool to get some, because I just don't I'm not fucking spending money on that right now. I just wanted to log in and play it and kind of see what it was all about. So do you do any shooting or fighting? Oh? Yeah, yeah yeah in this Yeah? Is there PvE like monsters? Yeah? Yeah, so you have like quests and ship to do, and they they just dropped a star. I think it's a Star Wars lego kind of feature now where you can use lightsabers and blasters and you can play all your favorite characters whatever like, and you have story missions with like Chewbacca I think, and all the shit like whatever, all these characters you have stories. So we were just messing around with The guys had already played for a handful of hours, so they'd started building a base. So I kind of dropped in there and got a head start on some weapons, Like I have some blasters, which is so cool because it's like classic blaster sound when you're like shooting. So whose world is it? Where does it save? Like? I think it's like whoever hosts it, like one of your buddies or whatever starts it. I think you have to start a like a I don't think it's a guild, but like a party or whatever. And then when I think, it's their world that they invite you to, and once you join in them their party, then you could just drop into their world. That's how I did it anyway. I joined their party and then I could drop right in. So I don't know how that works, but I'm assuming it's whoever starts the world. I think you can just do that, so it's like Pow World then kind of yeah, now the environments aren't Lego. That'd be kind of cool if it was like all Lego and like Lego trees and stuff. But it's not that. It's just like on the normal Light Fortnite world. But everything else is. All the buildings you build are all Lego. All the vehicles, cars and shit like that. I had this ridiculous glitch as soon as I got in the game. Matt and Steve were like, Dan, jump into the car. I was like, nice freaking car, Steve, what is this piece of shit? It had like wheels, no floor, The floor was invisible. It just had four seats an engine. I was like, what is this? And then after you get in, Matt's like, yeah, just look for the prompt to get in the car. And I was like, okay, so I go to the wheel. He's like you have to kind of like point up above the wheel and then hit X or whatever. It's like, I'm seeing no prompt here, guys, no prompt. So what were the seats sitting on? It was just invisible? And I was like, what kind of car is this? Steve? Maybe just think did you think to maybe just finish the car before you start driving it. And he's like, what are you talking about? And then I moved my camera to bird's eye, like to the camera above, and the whole car appears and I see the whole thing. I was like, oh, so's just some glitch happening where I couldn't see the entire vehicle for some reason. And it was actually quite nice. So he did finish the car in fact, and it was a good looking car, but I couldn't see it, just like on the camera on the floor. You just don't have an eye for cars, dude. You just don't have an eye for the cars. So I couldn't even get in the car, so I just glitched inside of it and it was just like shaking up and down on the screen while they were driving around. I was like, this is a great game, guys, great game. But it was fun, Like we went on little missions and like you can go to caves and shit, and there's like sometimes you'll you'll come across an Empire base. If you're like the I guess, I guess you have to be the Rebel of Alliance. I don't really know how that works. Rebel Alliance, Rebel alliots. Yeah, so you come across empire bases and that's where you can get you know, materials and shit or rewards and you finish quests and all that stuff. Lightsabers are cool as weapons because their durability is like the Master Sword in Breath of the Wild, so they don't break, they just deplete and then they recharge after ten minutes. So like once you have a lightsaber and you want to use one, then like that's all you really need for like a melee weapon. But the blasts. Yeah, I tried doing all that in the main mode PvP, people running around with fucking lightsabers, and last years it's so fucking stupid, like you'd get one shot by a lightsabers, like fuck, yeah, so dumb, that's dumb. But yeah, but there's no p I'm updating it right now. No PvP, I don't think. But yeah, it's been fine. It was interesting, and I'd like to play a little bit more because it would be fun to get like skins like a thrill House has the Anakin skin, the the Revenge of the Sith Anakin skin, which is really sick, like the black robes and when he killed Yeah, I think Jackster has the Clone the Clone Trooper outfit pretty sure. I don't know if it's Finn though, with his Clone Trooper with the helmet off from Force Awakens. I don't remember, and you can like put the helmet on. I don't remember who has who somebody had that, So they play Fortnite nor like regularly then I think, so, yeah, in the past, they definitely have and they're big. A lot of the guys are big Rocket League fans, so they'll play that too. But yeah, it was fun and I'd like to play more. I just haven't sat down and it's easy to just drop in and do right, because that's that's kind of all I've been able to do now is play games that are easy to just drop into. And that's why I haven't played Dragon's Dogma because I don't want to sit there for forty five minutes to be like, oh, I have to turn it off now or whatever because I'm either tired and falling asleep, or because I have to go to work, or because I have to ever start teaching. So it was just when I have a concrete amount of time, at least two hours of uninterrupted blah blah blah, no anxiety no thoughts on my brain, then I would like to sit down and play it, but that hasn't happened recently. So I've been playing some Animal Crossing too, because I realize I have so much shit that I haven't done yet. I haven't done so much crap in Animal Crossing. Yeah, I made my village, whatever it may look pretty. I quit plant some trees or some paths or whatever. But my museum is nowhere close to being finished. I've got so many bugs to catch still. So the whole point of the game is the museum. It's finishing the museum. Is that what? Not? Really? No, not really, it's just to kind of well, I guess that's a big part of any sort of achievement that you can work toward, because it's such a huge collection of shit now, especially now with new horizons, because before it was just like bugs, fish and dinosaurs, but now it's art. They've added a whole art thing, so you can find fake art and real art. And if you find the fake art, Blathers will not take it for the museum, so he has to like vet it and he's like, I'm sorry, this is a fake get that shit out of here. But there's this he smashes the vase and he's like, ah, it's a fake. Yeah, I gotta watch that again. But yeah, so there's this fox named Red who will show up on your island. You got a bunch of vendors that will show up on the island now and then and they'll have shit for you to buy, but they won't show up all the time, so that you've got to keep playing, Oh, I'm going to see who's on my island visiting today for whether it's a camper, whether it's leaf, the guy who sells plants, whether it's Red. So Red is the fox who sells art. Now he will sell you counterfeit or he will sell you real and you don't know what's what unless you like look it up or take the chance and buy it and go ask and go donate it to blathers or try to and he'll tell you. If he takes it, then it's real. If he doesn't, then it's not. And you're like, fuck, well, I just waste it. I don't know. Three thousand bells on that thing, or a fox selling fake art, yeah exactly exactly, So he still can't really be trusted. But there's this thing in Animal Crossing called Harve's Island, which is the newest kind of one of the new features in these games. So it's just an island. Harve is like the hippie He's kind of like the Chong Tommy Chong basically of Animal Crossing. He's like the hippie dog with like the glasses and he just he's super smoked out and he has an island that you can go and set up all these if you have enough bells, if you're making enough money, you can go and just kind of contribute donations to all the little gyroids and then you just get all the vendors on one island, so you don't have to keep waiting for them to come to your island. And this was an update that came I think later, So you had to wait and play a little bit, and at first you have to wait for these people to come to your island. But now you can just go there and invest money. If you have all that money in the world, then you can get all them all on one island. If I want to go see red, I can just go to Harve's Island and see what he's got on for art, whether it's counterfeit or not, instead of having to wait for him to come to my island. And he never fucking comes to my island. So if you don't develop harves Island, you're gonna be waiting a long time. Read what would come to your island? Why would he come to your island? Island? They do sometimes they're like there's a mysterious stranger up on the up in the harbor up north selling art or whatever, and you're like, oh shit, reds here. But that never happens to me. I think he's showed up once or twice in my four years playing this game. So but the thing about the problem for yeah, the problem with this game is that everything is season based and real time based, so like if you don't check animal crossing every day, you're probably going to miss a lot of shit. The game doesn't wait for you kind of thing, right. So that's also why I haven't found all the bugs and the fish because everything is seasonal. You can only get this fish to this fish in June and July, and you can only guess bug in this bug from like October to whatever, so like you're waiting all the year round, so it's not coming back takes forever, but anyway, so that's what I'm been doing, coming back, trying to develop my island at Harve's Island and just unlock the shit, unlock the art, unlock the fish or not unlocked, but fill them all up because I got my Dinah bones are all filled. So that's what I'm working toward. And animal crossing. I want to get more done. Okay, that's pretty much it. I want to play some more Lego Fortnite soon too. I would play. I would play. I'm updating it right now. It's downloading. It's very large, large update, sixty eight gigs. Yes, yeah, that was big. I made a video, a couple videos. Made a couple of videos, one on the Apex fly Digi Apex four controller right here here. It is little quicker view and first look with a little unboxing in the background. It's very nice, probably probably the nice the best controller. I don't like the like the design of it is whatever, like the aesthetics, whatever, But in terms of functionality, it's probably the best controller I've had. Huh. It's got lots of features, lots of features, like premium features that you only would get in like I don't know, like a custom ordered three hundred controller, like like adjustable stick tension. There's no controllers that have adjustable stick tension. This is the only one. And like the Microsoft, the Microsoft Elite, which is sucking two hundred and fifty dollars, or you can make a custom order on some custom you know, controller website and have increased stick tension, but they're not adjustable. So like that's pretty good, pretty good from China from China. Huh thirty bucks A hundred thirty bucks shipped Ali Express Ali Express Ali Express YEP. Free shipping took ten days. Easy. Holy, I thought it'd take a month ten days to my door quote unquote free shipping, or it was all included in the price whatever that was, like one hundred and thirty bucks Canadian. That's a good value right there. Good value, and it performs very well. I just hope it doesn't break or anything, because then I have no idea what the fuck do I do it back to China. I don't think so. And I'm not buying like a three hundred dollars American three hundred dollars US for these fucking custom controllers, Like that's just insane, Like I don't want to do that way. That's crazy. It doesn't work for PS five or console though it's just a PC and switch. Yeah, it works for switch because it's Bluetooth. But yeah, I made another video about aiming controller if you're switching to controller from keyboarded mouse. I made a little video about that little tips that I learned that I wish people, or wish someone would have told me when I was learning how to play on controller, just a little help, you know. Once the algorithm kicks in and starts showing it to people, I'm sure it'll get some views, but it always takes a little while to get going. Hold on here, I think Nasty brought his Legion Go down to Mexico, and I think he was doing some gaming. Let's check in with Nasty. I've been playing that new Wuthering Waves anime game, a free to play anime game. It's like Gentien Impact mixed with like a Pokemon Monster collection thing. It's actually pretty good, nice looking artwork, fucking anime titties, jiggle physics. What else do you need? Boys? Yeah, there you go. What else do you need? What the hell else do you need? Gentien Gingen Impact, gen Impact. I think you said that wrong, nasty night. We'll get my break. He's got a little Mexican on his mind. He's you know, let's talk about a little bit of gaming news here. I don't know if you heard this, Called Duty coming to game pass is officially announced. Shopper, the new one, the new one, the newer one that's coming out. Black Ops six six is that what it is? Holy fuck? Because there was no Black Ops five. There was a fifth Black Ops, but they didn't call it Black Ops five. It was called Yeah, I don't remember, Old War Cold Door. Oh that Cops the Cold War, which I did play the campaign for and it was pretty cool. I liked it. It was like eighties in the eighties. I think I will definitely play this the campaign. Just pop in the game pass for the campaign to Call of Duty. Yeah, yeah, I would not, because they're their campaigns are always cool. I've always enjoyed them. Never have I hated a Call of Duty campaign. It's like it's always good entertainment. It's good. It's even some of it's quite cinematic and all that shit. So yeah, I would too, especially if I had game Pass. I don't know if I have it right now. I remember if there's a cool op it'd be cool if there was a co op campaign. That would be cool. There may be the last couple of releases I did not I'm not paying eighty dollars for a Call of Duty game. It's is not, right, ninety man ninety probably more now, probably more. They're probably like because some games are priced higher than the seventy nine, aren't they They're like eighty nine ninety nine plus fucking tax, So you're going to pay like one hundred and ten bucks or whatever. No, not for campaign? Well, yeah, just put it on exactly. Yeah. Yeah, having it on game pass is just gravy jump into some multiplayer, maybe play the campaign, which I it's usually pretty quick quick little Maybeyeah, it's never a few hours, six hours something like that. Maybe. But yeah, that'said that. We got another little tidbit of news here. Nasty shared with us the Immortals of Abum, which we recently saw at one of the game shows, one of the State of Plays or whatever you call it game fests. It will be the first console game with FSR three upscale technology from am D, so it may actually run at sixty fps. Wow, that's something that's promising. What's it called again, Immortals of a Right. It's like a third party or a third person and RPG kind of magic action game. And Masty's got something to say about it here. Let's see this is going to be a game changer for consoles, guys. Okay, yes it is. It's going to be a game changer for consoles, guys, that's what he said. We shall see. Speaking of you might not be too happy about this one, Dan, m M, I think I know what's coming. Kingdomcom deliverance to Scope was impacted by the Xbox Series s limitations. It will run into thirty fps thirty fps on PS five and Xbox Series X. To clarify, I don't game or horse being the assholes. I mean the fucking people who are like, oh, let's make a let's make a cheaper tier consoles micro who don't want to buy Yeah, who don't want to buy a series expert seven hundred dollars to buy something cheaper and bottleneck the entire gaming industry Jerry, Yeah, bottlenecksoft myself from releasing two consoles again instead of one. It has impacted yet another game. Now, the headline here doesn't mention series Oh series X series S. It says we'll run at ok at thirty FPS on PS five X S X. Is that Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series I thought X and S means Series X and Series S. Pretty sure that's what that means. Okay, so just it'll run. I don't know anyway, that's just But yes, I think I think Nasty has something to say about this. I am tired of this ship. I honestly think we just need to get rid of consoles. People who play them are losers. I guess that makes me a loser too. We're all lose here. Yeah, true, Well, yeah, I'm not going to disagree with that. Yes, I know. I just don't want a fucking PC game. I don't want to deal with PC parts and fucking graphics cards and all this shit, like, especially after seeing you guys have so much bullet in trouble with like your FPS and the fact that these new graphics cards are like two thousand, three thousand dollars and they're not even fucking playing anything four K natively, it's all using upscaling. It's like, what's the point, That's what Xbox, What's what consoles are doing? So I might as well just keep gaming on console. You're gonna be keep using upscaling, Like, I mean, I've seen the power of FSR, especially whenever that new the Xbus cur Series X update came around with Cyberpunk, Like I saw the power of that. I was like, that list looks great, and I'm fine with that. I'm good with the fact that it's not like rendering, it's just using upscaling whatever. As long as it looks good and it plays good on console, I don't give a shit. But like, don't want to deal the faint of heart, Yeah, exactly, And that's it's not for that faint of hot Harry, That's not something I want to deal with the paint of heart. Now. It is annoying sometimes, that's for sure. And it's definitely quicker to become obsolete than a console is. I don't know, but yeah, because console is the when you want a competitive game, when you want to game competitively, yeah, you gotta do it. But that's not the majority of the people. The platform is console, Like you know, you don't. Not everybody's competitive gaming. Not everybody's a huge fucking graphic nerd or whatever. Like most people just want to plug in a game and play, and like that's where the consoles come in. So yes, if anything, console will be the the prevalent platform and PC will be on the way out, which just means that we'll deal with more bullshit bottlenecking as console players and stuff. Probably the more that XU Microsoft keeps releasing two consoles, one shitty and one powerful. It's so annoying. When will they stop? Yeah, it's like when it's like we've got rid of We got rid of the one problem, which was there developing for older consoles, so that that is now on the way out. Now we have this other problem. Well it's the same problem, the same Yeah. I guess that's true because they're they're fucking they're developing for two generations. Yeah, true, that's true because it's just like using an older console, like a less powerful one. It's the same thing as using as developing. That's why PS five exclusive games there so much better. Yeah, like God of War, true, Got of War, Ghost Sushi made. Okay, I think that's it, Yeah, Ghost, I think that's it for our game time. We're going to head into today's topic, the PlayStation state of Play twenty twenty four. Okay, all right, welcome to this episode. Today, we will be talking about the PlayStation state of play twenty twenty four. Is that officially what it's called? Just the one per year one per year? Yeah, that's what happened on YouTube when I was watching it. Okay, it happened on the thirtieth of May this past Thursday. And we're going to go through the games. I have everyone listed here. There wasn't that much. It was only thirty five minutes long. I think, yeah, we're going to shore through and talk about it up. First, we had a game called Concord. I remember last year they did a very quick teaser about this, and we had no idea what it was. It was just kind of like cyberpunk looking with the it was like almost a retro eighties tune. Excuse me, there was like a retro eighties tune playing and like just the name of the game, Concord, that's all it was. I don't even remember that. Yeah, I was just like, what is this. I don't know what it is. We didn't know, but they showed the actual game, a nice little intro movie which was fun, kind of Guardians of the Galaxy esque. Yeah, it comes, so it comes out June sixth for pre order, it says, and you get early access. But it's a six v six team shooter. The gameplay looks it looks a lot like Overwatch. It just looks like Overwatch. It different classes. I mean, it's like, there's the mechanics look pretty smooth though, even at this state, because this is a state of play, so it's not even final, right and if that's the kind of idea, but it did look pretty smooth, but that's not you know, that's just one small part of it. So at least there's that though. But I could say definitely could see I wrote, I could definitely see the appeal for like Apex and Overwatch lovers. I mean, yeah, but I don't know. The thing is, I don't know there it looks like there's some kind of narrative that they mentioned, but so there will there become some kind of story in this or is it a game I a BBP game with a story? I don't know. It's hard to say because I did that with what was that dinosaur game that I thought was okay, they had that kind of narrative thing between or whatever, and there was some story true. Now there should be, though, that's the thing is like I'm I'm an advocate for that, because like, if you're going to make a game, why wouldn't you put a story in it? Like it gives context to these characters. I did have a bit of a you know, we all know how Dandolf the Wise feels about flashy, fluffy cinematic trailers that really don't mean shit when it comes to what the game is, right, we all know it's all fluff. Just show me the fucking game, because a great cinematic trailer can't save a shit game. It can't, it can't make up for anything. But I did like that they mentioned that there'll be some like cinematic vignettes. They are calling them, right, so every time you log on, there's going to be like a little fun little skit that happens and gives context to these characters. So that's cool because if I'm going to like spend time playing the game, I'll want to know who these characters are, like what makes them tick kind of thing. But that's just me because like, you know, you're playing Apex. They don't really have a story, is there, Like there might be something written somewhere there are the comic there's comics. Comics there you go, so that there's something that once throughout the season. But but yeah, there's a little comic book stories. So I don't know if it's just a mode. Maybe there's a PvP mode and a pv E mode that has a little story, or maybe it is like that dinosaur game. What the fuck is that dinosaur game called? Yeah, I can never remember. No, anyway, Yeah, that was weird. There was like the story was in between your matches. Yeah, in the match didn't really have anything to do with the story. I guess it's just like I don't think. So here you go going for a match and then it had like a story in between. It was just like a day in the life kind of thing. Yeah. But again this thing said pre order, so it isn't free. This is not a free game, like you can go play Overwatch for free. Yeah, why, like you what are you getting here? Might be interesting? Yeah, I don't know. It looked like there was some cool mechanics, and sure they were talking about asymmetry of characters and how you got someone who's really small someone who's really big, and like each character could kind of find a weakness for their opponent. And it would show it in terms of the animation that of the attacks, which is really cool. So, like, you know, if you had I think there was one scene that looked like the character just had a little knife and they were maybe a rogue type and they went in and they stabbed a very like specific spot of a larger opponent who you know was blundering. Kind of that's kind of neat. So I liked that there was a bit of a unique take on Instead of you know, just hit boxes and you just like send bullets that way, or you just like throw knives or whatever, you have to like do a specific attack and find weaknesses and like maneuver your enemy. That seemed really cool, But I don't know if that's original or fresh or unique. I mean, yeah, there's usually a counter to counter to classes and stuff like that, and those well, we'll see. I guess let's see it. Nasty Night has to say, I think you had something here. Concord looks to be an Overwatch competitor. All they need to do is not be overwatched and people will play it. I like the weekly story VIDs. That will be fun. Reminds me of Guardians of the Galaxy. Yes, as we said, yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy. Definitely Guardians of the Galaxy vibes, That's probably what they were going for. But you see how it is. Next up Quirky Humor. Yeah. Next up we got Gottawar. Ragnarok is coming to PC on September nineteenth, which is nice. I've already played it, cool and beat it. But for PC games who haven't played this yet, this is very exciting, excellent game. I recommend checking it out for anyone who hasn't played it. It is a very good game. Next up, Dynasty Dynasty Warriors origins. Now, I never played a Dynasty Warriors game, but I knew exactly what this was as soon as I saw it, because I remember I could tell right away what it was. It even looks similar graphically to the old ones. Like graphics and mechanics still look like I'm playing Dynasty Warriors on Sega Dreamcast, like back at that loom in long suit. That's exactly why when I saw it, I was like, Okay, this must be Dynasty Warriors. I don't know, man, I have very I just don't see the point. Like I I think it's a dead game series. I don't know why you'd want to spend time and energy on this game series that it literally looks the exact same as anything else, the exact mechanics, the exact gameplay. You're just you're fighting rushes of enemies, massive groups of enemies, and you're just swinging around a giant fucking spear like you're not even there's no cool combat like you are literally just hacking and slashing so far, That's what I can tell. So I'm just like, why, why why with the Dynasty Warriors. I don't know. Let's see what Nasty says. I think Nasty's got something. Dynasty Warriors? What is this a PS two game? This looks not good at all. Yeah, you're freaking out. It's freaking out about the Dynasty Workers. This game was not good at all. He's not having it. I feel the same way. I was like, are you kidding me? Man? Come on? And then I get that feeling when I'm then I'm watching these states of play where like I feel bad because like the developers are excited they got a new game coming out. I know what it feels like to make something and have to put it out of the world, and you like the eyes of everyone are watching and you're just like excited and you're nervous and your whatever, And then I'm sitting there like why the fuck would anyone want to play this? And I feel horrible for thinking that because they worked hard at it, but like, come on, just think there's an ass for every seat, there's an as. Yes, I guess, I don't know, yes, Okay. Next Next, I had a wee cozy game for girls. Yes, which is the title that I made up for it before it actually said what it was. Infinity Nikki, Infinity Nikki. I don't know yet, not much really I have to say about that one. I mean, the graphics was kind of nice. It was looked kind of glowy and cute or whatever. And if that's your thing, like those like Final Fantasy, was it cel shaded? Was kind of cell shaded ish, I don't think so. It was more very It was very bloomy. Yeah, it was like a Final Fantasy kind of like yeah, I don't know, it's just aesthetic in these Japanese games, you know, And there's a few on this list that are kind of like that. I just wrote, I'm good, but thanks. I don't think I'll be playing Infinity Nikki, No, all right. Next, we had that Ballad of Antara. It's like a fantasy style action RPG. Yeah, and it had some There was definitely some footage of gameplay in there, and it looks pretty cool visionally. Yeah, that's what I thought too, quite like fluid like. It looked really nice and uh, I don't know, it's almost seamless, so could be cool. I think Nate's got something. What did Nate have to say about this one? Souls Like looks like Lords of the Fallen, souls Like looks like Lords the Phone. I don't know if it's a soul's like. You think it's a souls like I don't know. I don't know. Uh, well, maybe because it was all over the shoulders that looks Yeah. I thought there was another one that looked a little souls like a little later on we'll get to but I don't know about this one. Maybe maybe Nate will play it. He loves that shit. Souls Like true. Speaking of what Nate likes, there was a couple of v PSVR two titles here, Yeah, the first one being sky Dance's behavimoth See. Let's see what Nate has to say about Behemoth well, we'll throw it over to Nate. He's connected from Mexico. This just didn't not what I was expecting from the more dark preview trailer we got a few years ago. But it definitely looks like like something I would pick up. I'm hoping it's not just another rogue like VR game. We need story driven VR games. Yeah, that's true actually, because story driven VR games because like imagine, it must be hard to overcome. The is novelty the good is novelty the right word. I don't know that the gimmick as it were, of like the VR being the feature kind of thing. It's like, the VR shouldn't be what you're playing. You should still be playing a good, a great game with VR as like the channel, the conduit for the game, the storytelling, you know what I mean. It should never be the other way around. So that's a very good point. Actually, thanks Mat help from patching in from Mexico. That's a great point for Mexico. It should help it though, you know what I mean. It should Yeah, but it just shouldn't be that like you know, they're they're showing off the VR or just to show you off the VR and give you this kind of backdrop that as the game. It's like, if anything of the VR should be the facilitator and the backdrop, but the game should still be like, the game is great whether it was VR or playing it on a console, like like if you're if you're if you're imagining yourself playing it on console without VR, like if there were two different version, it would still be amazing kind of thing, then you've got a great game. Yeah, well, but it did look fund look cool Skyrim esque, a little bit more gory a little uh. It was a giant ass monster stomping around. I assume that reminded me, but yeah, reminded me of Dark Messiah, Might and Magic. Did you ever play that? Do you remember that on PC? Like years ago, like two thousand and five or some shit. That's what it reminded me of. The enemy, Like the the way everything looked. It was fucking funny though. It was great. So I don't know I remember you playing that. I actually remember you playing that game. I don't think I played it all. It was hilarious. The enemies were fucking hilarious. Obviously. It was just ragged off physics. You could like kick your enemies into like spike traps and they'd be like they would just like hang there. The way the swords looked actually looked really similar to this. If I didn't know any better, I thought maybe it's the same developer all these years later. I don't know. Okay, Next up, Alien Rogue Incursion. Not much to show here, just a little teaser. Could be scary. I don't like scary game, you know me, I don't like them. I don't play scary games. No, SHIR and VR probably won't play all right. Next up we got Marvel rivals PvP Arena Third Person Shooter closed beta coming July twenty twenty four. Again, looks like Overwatch, but Marvel characters. Yeah, no, I'm gonna say no. I saw, I did see Spider Man. I did G Spider Man and I did G Vendom, both playable characters. There was destructible environments that was cool. Yes, true visual style was nice. I do like Spider Man, you know how I like Spider Man. But what is with all these Overwatch style games? Yeah? I don't know, man, do they really did? They just think this is what's gonna work, Like, this is what's gonna succeed. It can't. Is this what free. Can't Oh, I doubt it is this free to play? Are they charging money for these when Overwatch is free to play? I just don't get it. I don't know. Yeah, I'm not happy. I mean unless you're like an insane Marvels fan, Marvel fan, like you need to play this because you you are a Marvel fan, like a fanaticy not just a fan, even though that's short for fan fanatic, Like you're fucking fanatics short like a hyper fanatic. No, I'm not impressed at all. I don't care anything about this any deal, Like I and I think that's I think this is about halfway through the state of play, and I remember being like, am I wasting my time watching this? Because like there's just so much shit that's coming out that are like this, and it's like this can't be the future of gaming, Like and then I start thinking, are they just kind of like rushing out games? And these developers are like, oh, what if we just did like an Overwatch kind of game with Marvel, but like so we'll slap Marvel on it and we'll make Marvel characters and then like, oh that should be popular, right, didn't they say? Didn't they say? They wanted to have more in live service games. Isn't that Wasn't that a big thing that PlayStation wanted to do? Yeah, or something like something that they fucking like that they Oh, yeah, I guess that's they wanted to do. So that's why there's an influx of these memory live service game. Is every live service game is just an Overwatch style game? I guess where's the Battle Royals? Is this no Battle Royals? Well? I think what's nice to get to say about this? Coming in for Mexico? What do we got? Marvel Rivals looks like another Overwatch style team shooter, which is fine by me. I'll play them all. I love Overwatched so much for some reason, did you guys know that? Well, guess what. It's true, baby, It's true. What baby, it's true? Baby, it's true. Okay, yeah, Nate Love. Of course you're going to play it. Of course going to play it. He'll be the tester of all this ship for us. He'll be the first line of defense. If it's free. Okay, sure, but like pay money for that. You're gonna pay money for this? What if people aren't playing it? You know what I mean? Yeah, then you're like yourself support going to be there? Is the support going to be there if if people aren't playing and you paid money for that? Yeah, so don't. I just don't see how these aren't free games, you know what I mean? May maybe that will give you something like if it doesn't give you something else, like that's what I was saying about Concord. What is it going to give you? It's as pre order, so that means it's not a free to play game. What are you getting for your money? What if nobody buys it and you're not going to be playing with anybody? Is there a PvE story mode? Like maybe maybe it's like kind of like a Destiny type thing where there's that, but then you can also I don't know, like there's instances of PVEE kind of thing. I wonder. Hmmm, all right, well let's move on here. Yeah, uh where winds meet? This looks to me, this looks like a Soul's like game. The Samurai style, very cool visuals and art style, like it looked fucking cool. But unfortunately, if it's a Soul's like, I just won't I won't be playing. I don't know, but it looks nice. It did look nice and it looked kind of cool and very dramatic. But there's just something about maybe the style of it where I was like, ah, I probably won't play it. I don't know, because I just remember watching it and it looked cool. You know, they're fighting in the bamboo forest. But it's all too much for me. It's all too much. It's almost like watching Thember, that Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon movie. It's like it's all that that that Asian cinema kind of thing where it's all over the top, kind of over dramatized and and blah blah blah, and it's like, I don't know, I'm not really into it, so I probably won't have any interest in that. And the Wire the Wire, yeah yeah, and like the Flying Kicks yeah yeah, and like huge mythical creatures. I think that's what this one was, right. They were like big like dragons or fighting and stuff. I don't know, but the visuals look nice. I don't know. If it's a soul as like, I won't play it, But if it's not a hard game, yeah maybe yeah. Maybe if there's a deal, maybe we'll see now next until dawn, oh yeah. Twenty twenty four is this what you played? This is what I played, Yeah, with my buddies. But now it's coming out for PS five PC, so I'm assuming it means PS five and PC optimized, so like or PS five enhanced or whatever. What did you play it on fours four? Oh? Man? What a fucking good game. I I those who want a great interactive horror mystery highly suggest playing it. If you haven't yet on PS four or whatever. If you've got a PC or PS five, you've got to play this game. It's fucking cool, man. Great story, just great ambience, great vibe, lots of Tens Malick, Remy Malick. So many people you know in it? What's his name? What's her name? Hayden, pianitaeire There Panatieri or the Italian I don't remember her last name. There's another girl in it that we know too, she's an Asian actress. I'm pretty sure. M hmm. All I can do is recommend this game even for people who don't like horror games, Like it's not even that kind of like I don't like horror shit, and I love this game. It was really it was creepy and like just the perfect amount of creep great story as well though, like good backstory, so it kind of gave the horror context and meaning as opposed to it just being scary for the sake of being scary. It was just a great, great story, so I would recommend it. You gotta check it out. It's very cool. I don't know, maybe around Halloween or something. I don't play scary games. I don't play scary games except for Alien Isolation. Yeah. I didn't finish that one, so because it was I would even go so far as to buying Until Dawn on PS five. In fact, I just may, I just may. What do you say? All right, what do you say? I just may? Well. Next, let's look at Path of Exile two early access, coming late twenty twenty four. This game is still not out yet. I feel like it's been a long time. I played the first coming with Nathaniel for a little bit. It seemed okay, the thing is so old though, yeah, the first one. Nice Rod plays the first one still it's got like eight thousand hours in or some shit like, oh my god, but like it's not something you can pick up playing right now. The first Path of ex style, it's just there's too much, like it's too much. But this might be a good refresh, a good starting point. It could start over and I think that I might. Yeah, but like the first one just too late now. But this has also couch co op it said, which is cool. Yes, And it's a Diablo style action RPG and it has cross play too and cross progression. Yeah. Now now that makes me think though, why so why would I play this over Diablo for instance? So I mean, obviously those are a factor, because I don't know if Diablo has cross play a cross progression, like, I don't know how that works. It does it does? Maybe the graphics are better, maybe the story is better, Like it just looks like Diablo, but it's not so right, But it could have more than diable. Diablo doesn't have much, Like you can do the story and then you have to grind for a bunch of shit. There was I don't know, I haven't played it in a while, but like there wasn't much to do in the end game in Diablo. So does this will be rich co op? Uh? I don't remember, because that would be cool because that would that that reminds me of like playing like an old Champions of Norath kind of thing, like me and Evan used to play that, which was also Diablo style game. Right, it was related to Balder's Gate kind of thing, but it wasn't. It was not like a balders Gate RPG. It was just you. It was an action RPG where you read it's exactly like. That's why I fucking loved it because it was like, oh, I'm going around killing skeletons. I'm an archer or I'm a knight or a barbarian or whatever classes they were. And you could play it side by side with someone and I don't think it was split screen or whatever. So it was really cool. So maybe that might be fun for Patho x Sile as well. The graphics look quite nice, actually quite nice. I really liked the look of the graphics, so I thought it's going to be really good pathovel. I think this is going to be Will it Buried? Yeah four, that's the question. Yeah, will Nasty Night play? I don't think he sent us any comment to you commentary on shocking given this game, Yeah, I wouldn't mind playing it on PS five. Maybe I will. We'll see. Next up another scary game, Silent Hill two, coming October eighth. Scary will not play. Looks creepy. Is this a remake? It's a game, that's my hunch. Yeah, because they not make Silent Hill two already? Pretty sure? All I remember. All I remember thinking is just like another Silent Hill game, because there's so fucking funny of them. Two thousand and one. Just another fucking remake? Yet, who cares? Because they did the first one right? Next? Did they? I'm pretty sure? I think we will was playing? He enjoyed it, didn't he? Pretty sure? Or? Am I thinking of Resident Evil? I think I made Yeah, Resident Evil? Yes, they remade Resident Evil? Like who cares about? Some The movie sucked too? Yeah, I was in that again. Johnson Sean Bean John Bean, John Beanan's John Jones Know how old was that? Though? That was fucking like twenty twelve. Yeah, it sucked. It sucked, And I don't play. I won't play this, and it'll probably not be very good. I don't know unless you're a fucking die hard like Silent Hill fan, like there might be a couple dozen of those out there that'll buy this. Yeah, I don't know. It seems dumb. Next, Monster Hunter wilds visually look indeed indeed interesting looking characters like the costumes, lots of colors, very vibrant. A couple of those characters design looked pretty cool, But I'm not sure what more it will bring compared to the Like the other games, I it looked the same to me, Like it looked the gameplay looked the same, So I don't know. I think what is a different? I may be interested only because I have not played a Monster Hunter game in fucking ages, so maybe this would be a good place to jump in, but that's my only appeal. Like it looks good now, I would definitely trust Capcom with a new installment of this game after having played Dragon's Dogma two and the way that it feels and stuff. Is it using it's the same engine? I don't know, Maybe is it the RI engine. Don't know the new RI engine could be, but that they did the remake, the Resident Evil remake on it. Anyway, these are the games, though, that Capcom needs to be focusing on, Like they got to get rid of their fucking fighting games and ship leave them, leave them in the dirt, start making cool games, more games like this. But I still have ailing that if I play this, the giant fucking slow ass weapons would piss me off to no end trying to kill these monsters or whatever. There's no way I would come through that unscathed without like rage. Well, I'm sure you can change your weapon, like yeah, yeah, you know, I know. It's just like something different. The Bose massive weapons do a lot of damage, right, and so I don't know if I were to use those, I would get very angry. So yeah, I would stay clear, but it could be cool. It's just different because you can ride monsters and shit than something like Dragon's Dogma where you're just killing giant monsters and but you can drive, well maybe you can can. Was there anyone climbing on? Yeah? I think there is. I don't know. I don't know. I think Nate has something to say about this Monster Hunter wild Okaye, Monster Hunter wilds looks out looks like a Dragon's Dogma. Monster Hunter. Hopefully it runs better because Dragon's Dogma ran like asshole he played it on Dragon's Dogma. Yeah, I think he's got another thing to say. He's got another little tidbit here. Well, I'd say Monster Hunter is their bread and butter, and they'll probably put whatever they learned from dragons Dogma into that. Yes, it's true. Monster Hunter is a big, big part. Every time a Monster Hunter game comes out, a new one comes out, the fan base goes pretty wild. I think, so that is true. Yeah, I think lots of people are pumped for this. I only briefly played a bit of the first one. I think it was on game Pass or something. I was just like downloaded it and tried it, and I was like, eh, whatever, It's just it seemed it was very like, it was very capcommie. So I was just like, mah, you know the yeah, very Japanese style like. And I think maybe that's why I stayed away from them, because again, there's just something about that style. It's just not for me. That's why I'm not going to play Win Where Winds Meet, That's why I'm not going to play fucking Dragon Dynasty Warriors. I don't know, I don't know. That's just something that but but but that's what the thing is. Dragon's Dogma was not like that. That's why it appealed to me. It does not have that feeling. So anyway, all right, we got one last one here, and it is another Astros playground Astrobot coming September sixth. Did you play the Astros playground thing that came with PS five. You never played it? Oh no, no, yeah I heard about it. I did not play it. No, you didn't play it like came pre downloaded on your PS five when you bought it. Yeah, I don't know, I remember, and I promptly forgot about it. Oh I played. I played it like I beat it. It was very fun like it. It's like a fun platform that kind of showed off the controller features and the haptics and the functions and all that kind of thing. Yeah, it was sweet. There was this looks much the same, more kind of mini games, more more stuff to do, and it all looked pretty fun. I did notice that the little robot at one point in the video was dressed like Parapa the Rapper. Did you see that? Did you notice that? Uh? He had a little orange too, an little blue shirt on, and he had a microphone. I think I think there might be a little rhythm game in there, which is cool. Crack crack. It took the bowl, Crack crack. I actually did I tell you? I think I told you guys, I played that recently. I tried to. No. Oh yeah, yeah, it's horrible. It was horrible. It was horrible, like there was no rhythm, like you couldn't think. It was impossible, like impossible to beat. I was like, I don't, I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing, like because if you played to the rhythm, it didn't give you points or anything. It was pointless. I don't know. Anyway, lots of fun little games from what I saw on this little thing. Interesting, I say, Astrobot till last for this presentation, I don't know why that. Yeah, wouldn't you put an Monster Hunter last? Well it's a first first party thing. Oh right, I guess that's true, Sony. I don't know anyway. Overall overall, not much really to see here. I mean unless you're an Overwatch fan, I guess, or a Monster Hunter fan. Yeah, really not really really, not much else to talk about here. Probably a solid C grade here for this. Nothing really, nothing big nothing, first party, big time, Sony. That you know that, Yeah, what are we waiting for? What are we waiting for? From now here? Nothing? Really? And that's why I think when I when I had thought this was before I was finished. But when I had that thought, like I'm I feel like I'm kind of wasting my time watching this other than yeah, but then we got to Path of Exile Monster Hunter. I was like, Okay, those are the two that I would be interested in, if any If there's any takeaway, if I were to play any of these, it would be Path of Exile Too and Monster Hunter Wilds Like, I have zero interest in anything else obviously until Dawn, but I've already played it. But that would be great to have on PS five because I'm not gonna go fucking get a PS four just to play that. Yeah, I think. Yeah, Path of Exyle Too is like literally the only thing I really even care about here. Although the astros play Astrobot, I probably will play Yeah, probably fun little thing, yeah, because the last one was sweet. But yeah, but yeah, not much, not much coming here. That's all, folks. That's all she wrote. So let us know what you're looking forward to. What your grade on this thing was? I give it a C DAN. What do you give it? Yeah, I was thinking in terms of out of ten, I'd probably give it a six six, which maybe even a five just right in the middle. Already. That's it for this week's episode.
