Hey, everybody, Welcome to another episode of the Elder Trolls gaming podcast. If you are new, we are three brothers who get together and talk about gaming. We may also talk tech, TV, movies, other nerdy and geeky things too. I am your host. Take it easy, Johnno, and with me the two Elders, the other two Elder Trolls I should say, Nasty date here and dand off the wise Aha, And today we will be having a discussion about upscaling technologies and what part they'll play in the future of video gaming and what part they're playing now right now. Perhaps you may not be aware. Maybe we'll bring some things to the table that you don't know. All right, okay 's what I don't even know what that is? What you some rest some like loser kid with it looks like a little like like a fair ground, like it was like a mini like fair ground or something. And he was like a DJ and he had a little microphone and his dad, who looks exactly like him, was sitting right beside him, and they looked super nerdy that big glasses and the kid was like, oh God, let's go, and he started the music and I was like, whoo, I just started spinning a little merry go around. They just started spinning. Yeah, but what was the caption? It was like when you're why don't you want to go to Timmy's birthday party or something like that. Oh yeah, it was like Timmy's birthday party. Let's go, let's go. Oh man, I just got back from the farmer's market. Went to a little farmer's market. Is that the one right in Barraven by the bus stop. No, it's it's by the golf course. Uh, Cedar Hill golf course. Um, what did you get? Did you get anything good? Did you get any of these farmers? I got some cookie? Yes, I got a cookie. I got a cookie. We got some food because I hadn't eaten yet, so I went and we were just walking around. There's not a lot of It's a pretty small one, but um. They had three little tents in a row that were very I was very interested in. One was a German pretzel place. They made these nice pretzels. So I got one pretzel. We got one pretzel like big motherfucker's. No, I wasn't too big. It was like, okay big. Were they thick? Yeah? It was very thick? And uh and then I got a order of pacorus. There was like a like an Indian place, Oh yes. And then there was a creole place and I got some Creole beef patties and then we went and sat down and ate them. Holy crap, everything was so good. It was delicious. Yeah, creol, Were there any butter tarts that you could have bought for me? And always have they always have bought tarts at these farm farmers markets and they're fucking awesome. We got some tarts. I got a strawberry rhubarb tart, delicious, and Pam got a blueberry tart. And then we got a little cookie, a chocolate chip cookie from that place I was were there in That was my breakfast at a farmer's market. And I picked up I picked up a pork shoulder from one of the meat places there, the local meat farms. A little pork shoulder so I can put it on my new Phillip Grio, my smoker. So we'll do that for pulled pork sometime maybe next week or something nice that should be shoulders just so pork shoulder, what that's what you make pulled pork just like it's just like a strange cut of meat. I guess yeah, shoulder at the man because their belly, their bellies rolled. The bacon comes from right, because it's so thick and fat, right, just like my belly. If some are to make bacon out of meat, they would choose my fat. Oh, the cannibals. The cannibals would have a time of bacon bacon, and then the bacon could be taken from my you know those fat rolls on the side where my love handles are where it's starting to us over. There's no bake in there. It just it would be a nice candle or make soap. Nate tallow to make perhaps some sauce, some soap and soap and shit we use. That would be the most disgusting soap just stink like gamer soap soap to go see Oppenheimer, Oppenheimer, open Hippy, open sesame. What did you? What did you think of it? Without going into detail, it was heavy. It's pretty heavy, um, just like just like putting yourself into those guys boots that have not seen well I haven't seen an adam bomb or nuclear bomb go off, but like we know kind of the effects of it. Right because of the years they didn't know anything, and when they pressed that button, like they thought there was a fraction of a chance that it would just blow the planet up pretty much right, because they didn't know. All they knew was the theory behind everything, and then when they pressed that button, anything could have really happened. So like there was the way he filmed it, the way he put you in those guys boots made my heart beat quite a bit at one of these parts. It was was it like the intensity of Chernobyl on HBO. No, you fucking that was that was the tensionsturbing. Yeah, it was very disturbing. It was like so thick. Yeah, and the bunch of idiots running those nuclear power plants like that buddy, he's just like, uh, you just fight, yeah, have it on four kuhda. Oh, that'd be so great buying it. That's the guy from that's the guy from Foundation, right. Yeah. Harry Selden, Harry Selden started watching that great show. Great show, Um, Daniel, you should watch that, you should watch it. But yeah, Oppenheimer was good. Um I dozed a little bit, but I didn't fully fall asleep, So it's pretty good. Well, like I said, it's a bit dialogue heavy, it's a bit very falling asleep at the movie theater, fu man. But I have gone that once, but it was for the Lego movie and I was very tired, and I just did not care at all. I was just like, why am I here? What am I doing? Like, like, the only movie I haven't fallen asleep in was John Wick. I think in the only movie you had, never you haven't fallen asleep in at the theater? Like keep fall asleep at the theater and every other movie, every movie, Yeah I did. There's a full asleep when we went and saw Guardians, like five minutes. I always buy. I always passed up. There's always a time where I'm out for like ever and I'll drink like three coffees and like yeah, pretty much. Geez. Just the sound, the sound lulls me to sleep. The Imax fucking man. Okay. Remember remember when we went and I saw that that um that horse show, you know that show where that horse was fucking that jig oh, the one there was like a cirque to but with horses with horses. Yeah, I fall asleep during that because it was just like so dark in there, and like it was a music why it it was like like very somber music, and I was just like complete, I've passed out on that one too. It's not oh my god, it was any Did you fall asleep during that? It was beautiful. I was like it was fucking dark and quiet in there. What do you want? Yeah, what else do you want? I've definitely fall asleep during during like orchestra performance, orchestra concerts, and typically though not the Lord of the Ring stuff like the film stuff, no way, But yeah I didn't fall See you're not either. Always the classical the classical stuff, I always end up dozing a bit if it's just kind of go And it's not even that the shows are long, it's that the pieces are long and they're fatiguing because they're like a symphony is like forty minutes, you know what I mean, like three movements, and one of the movements is always the arret or it's always canonically, I guess, for lack of a better word, like a slow one. So it's like they start with a fast one than the middle one's slow, and by then you're just like and then you have to go have a movement at intermission. Yeah, yeah, that definitely happens I must have a battle movement? All right? Um? Should we get in? Do a game time here? Or do we have something? Do I have something? I don't think I? All right, what we've been playing? Okay, let us go. We're gonna have to put that in the video too. You gotta put that stupid video in. I have no idea what it is. Oh, we gotta find it for you. Can we find it right now? I don't know. Hold on. You could try typing in. Okay, let's go kid, Okay, let's go meme. It might be on YouTube as let's go meme. Yeah, here it is. Oh god, oh god, have you are you watching this right now? Okay, okay, let's go. Oh god. Oh they're not English. It's not English. They're like Eastern Oh that might explain that, I guess the dey of of his line. Okay, let's go. Oh my god. It sounds exactly like a carnival, like the echoing and ship, like the super reverb they put on everything. Yeah, yeah, it sounds like just like he's at He's at like a carnival, just talking to people talking. All right, what we've been playing? I got lots explaining lots? Have I do? I have lots? No? Maybe, m I do have lots. I think I have three? Well, no, two, let's say two. I bought that battle Bit game. Oh yeah, battle Bit and Master. I played it for like three hours. Um, I don't know. I don't I don't know if I liked it. I don't know. It was weird, it was hard. It was very hard. It's like a battle For those who don't know, it's like battlefield it's like a battlefield game like Battlefield you know five or whatever, or more modern. I guess more modern. It's not Battlefield five like Battlefield I'd say Battlefield four. I'd say a Field four. Yeah, yeah, um, but it's like Minecraft graphics. So it's it's just like blocky people, and but everything is like destructible, like all the the buildings can just crumble and on top of you and they just fall in the the little blocks. But like the time to kill is so fast. You just die all the time from you don't even know what kills you. I'm just like, what, Okay, how did I die there? I have no idea. You get sniped from wherever? You have no clue. It doesn't tell you, doesn't tell you where you died from. It doesn't show a kill cam or anything like that. Um. So it was a bit kind of like I don't know if I like this, but maybe it takes a while. I was talking with our friend Miguel last night. He said, yeah, he kind of felt the same, but he said he said it took about ten hours for him to like kind of get like just to know how to traverse traverse around the buildings, make sure you look both ways, this kind of thing like I've been getting when I you know you can. Yeah, well I was watching shroud Play. I was watching shroud Play, and that guy is a freak. Yeah it looks like Minecraft Google a Battle Bit remastered. Yeah, yeah, I'm looking at it now. It's I haven't seen it before. Like I was watching shroud Play, and the way he was playing, I was like, fuck, like, fuck off, just stop playing video games already, okay, because then he attracts more players that know how to play video games like that, and then the whole thing gets ruined for people who just kind of want to play a video game. What do you mean I didn't do that poorly? Like I still was like one and a half Katie R. And then and then people have to become super sweaty to like bring it. You just can't like Endless one. You can't one v three people, you know, you can't even like one v two people. Maybe you can't even one v one people in that game because the katy, the tilt, the time to kill is so fast, like you're not gonna like, you know, kill one person you versus two people or three people. You have to like use your cover. You have to be more tactical, but you don't think that way because the graphics are so fucking cartoony and weird. You're like, oh, you just run out in the open and you die immediately. Yeah, it's like, oh, I guess I have to actually play like a real game. I found it very, very hard, but it was fun and I felt like the controls were nice, it felt smooth. It was it like felt good. The game feels good, runs amazing. Obviously, I'm playing it in like five K graphics like all this shit, Like it looks cool. I like blowing the ship up, but the instant I run out, I gets shot in the head. So I have to be like, yeah, I was using smoke grade grenades a lot. Yeah, so I would use that. I'd smoke out and run across. It's funny. It's like you see people dying in front of you, you run out to grab them to bring them back behind, drag them. Yeah, he dragged them over. It's like, oh, you can do that, and they're like they're like thanks, because there's like city chat open. Somebody grabbed me. Somebody grabbed me. It's like you're in the middle of the girl. Dude, I'm not going over there. And then like there's proximity chat for the other team too, so when they kill you, they're like, hey boy, hey boy, I was playing. I was playing on thirty two player maps because there's one hundred and twenty seven versus one hund twenty seven. It's insane. What that's too much or just so many? Wow? That's crazy. Yeah, maybe something we can play together, but I think Gillis has it. Oh yeah, and Daniel, it might be something you can play on this new gaming laptop that Rod the Bod gave you. Shout out to Rod. He gave you a gaming laptop. Yeah, like an older gaming lap laptop that He's like, I don't know, I haven't used it in Like what is it? It's like an ass rog with a ten sixty in it. That's pretty good, cool, like he says, I seven. I think he said, like sixth or seven six Jenny seven with a ten sixty he says. He says it should play Balder's Gate three. Daniel, Oh, yes, but how well let's go so well, what I'm gonna do is I gonna reinstall Windows on it, and I'm gonna install Balder's Gate and I'll see how it runs nice. Yeah, because we're coming home tomorrow to see to Daniel. Yeah, because, Mama, Mama, I'm coming home. Who's who's Rod again? Rod is my friend Rod. We play him and play hockey with him. Okay, I don't think you've ever met him face to face. Well, I remember somebody name. I remember somebody name Rodney, I thought, but I thought he was he knew you, Nathaniel, like I thought he worked with you at one point. I'm thinking somebody else. Maybe. No, Okay, I know Rod through Jonathan from hockey in games. M hmm, all right, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's a good boy. He's a path of Exile nuts. He's he's trying to get me to play Path of Exile. Similar game to Balder's Gate Championship or Rath type thing, isn't it? No, it's more of a dab blue point. Is it a point and click? Yeah? Yeah, click to move, click to move Diablo game. Well, what the hell are the original balters Gates? Weren't they? Were? They not click to point? It is click to move, but they're like a Bald's Gate is a lot more like the Dungeons and Dragons. So you have like lots of choices and lots of different things that can influence what happens. And should we get into that. Oh, yeah, because I've been playing, because we've been playing balds Gate three, we've been playing Segway Fantastic. We played how long three and two and a half hours. Yeah, I've played. Yeah, I've played probably three or four hours so far. I can see how this game will sink the hooks in you. Mm hmm. Yeah. It's it's cool, very cool. Their character creation is cool. Lots of choices, like for your classes, Like it's just like D and D. Right, you have to like choose your character's kind of sub race and subclass, ass and background and all this stuff that will like affect your your bonus roles and whatever. Because you do actually roll the twenty sided die dice like like you would in in D and D for things, for things that happen in like events that happen like checks, you know what I mean, like intelligence, check perception. I think so, I don't. I don't remember. I've never played the old games, the older games. The only ones I played was Balder I think it was Bolder G two for a little bit on PS two, I think it was, is there a Balder's gate on PS two dark alignance rember them being on those or something like that. And then I played Never Winter Nights on PC like fucking twenty some years ago. Yeah, I remember playing that one just a bit trying it out. M But this is really really cool, really cool, and like, uh, if your perception, like if you're I think whatever it is that helps perception. I was like walking down these hall is and then like this light will flash or this like thing will goal, and it's like it'll do the role I think in the background. Yeah, and if you successfully roll for your perception check, it'll tell you, oh, you found a switch on this wall and you're like, oh sweet, and you press the button and like a door will open and you find some treasure. It's fucking sweet. Yeah, it's pretty cool. It's hard though, Like the fighting is hard because it's like turn based. You can only move a certain amount of meters depending on your race I guess in your class. It's almost like gloom Haven, where gloom Haven is a tile based so you can only move a certain amount of tiles, but this is like meters. You can only move a certain amount of meters you can only do your your main action and then you can have a bonus action per turn. So and it's really hard because you have spells that you can only use once in a fight. Yeah, and then you have to do like a short rest after the fight or something to get it back, or a long rest to replenish your health and everything. So you do have to Yeah, you have to think about it and you have to kind of strategize. Um, yeah, it's it's it's cool, very well made so far. Anyway, we did a let's play of it, so we recorded our first couple hours, which I'm gonna throw up on YouTube as like, just if you want to hang out watch the first couple hours of the game, it'll be up there. But it was super fun. Can't wait to get back into that one. That could be good. Nice, It could be good. But the way it works though, if you want to play with friends, you have to one of you has to start the realm and then the other has to join and create a character for that character is only good on that realm, on that save, So you can't play it unless your friend is online, you know what I mean. So you can't really continue that character. Um, you can't solo character on us by yourself. Yeah, you have to wait till your friend is online. So it's signed kind of something you have to maybe schedule, you know, like a like I have Balder's Gate night, you know, like kind of like we do with gloom Haven. We go over to Al's, we set it all up, we play. This would just be no setup, you just do it online. Fu. Yeah, I like that. Yeah, I like it. It's very cool, very cool. I am interested to see what happens. Listen to this guy story. Someone asked the the devs will there be any in game transactions or micro transactions and Builder's Gate three, what do you think? The answer was, Yeah, I saw that. I spoilers already saw it. No, there are no in game purchases in our game. We believe in providing a complete and immersive gaming experience without the need for additional purchases right out of the gate, right out of the Balder's Gate. If that's not something we should be supporting just that alone, I don't think, like, like that's fa like fuck off with the like Larry Riot, Lariot, Lariat Studio Studios. Yeah, well, yeah, that's it. So what you're saying is we should say see you later Diablo is. And that's exactly what I did, because I stopped playing because, in my opinion, there was no point at all to continue playing, no point at all whatsoever, because I was just doing the same fucking thing. But you activated and activated your season, didn't you. So I don't care. I'm on the level. How what does it go to hundred ninety there? Not like all forty on it. I'm at like sixty five. I'm gonna finish that off and then I'll park it for a few seasons, probably wait till they get some they're still having a huge latent issues. I have to keep asking because I play it. Yes, yeah, it's just like and there's no story, there's nothing. I'm just grinding nightmare dungeons, Like why why why am I doing this? What for? There's I just want to know what happens to continue the story because they kind of you know, at the end of the campaign there's like an opening for more. What happens? Give me that I don't care about this non story season malignant thing. It doesn't there's nothing there. It's just nothing. It's just empty, empty gaming. It is. I still enjoy playing it because I just enjoy playing that, especially with Alma. Well, we still play together, so I'll continue to play it. Um what else I got? Oh? Oh, here we go boys. Ragnarok update. They release the calibration metronome tool in the PSVR two now, so I okay, I got the calibrated thing. And now I'm getting like sixth place in all of my big songs that I like. So I'm getting top ten every time now in the world. I'm going to the top. Boys, I'm going to the top. Yes, the world on VR? Is it specific between VR and non VR? I say all platforms, so I'm assuming it's all VR platforms that you can buy the game on. Also, also, they released controller support for the PC version, so you don't even need VR to play it on PC. It's very hard with the controller, but it's doable. Doable. But you're looking at top six here right now? Okay, okay, a hand let us know when you're number one. Okay, I will. Oh and I bought my heartbreak monitor to go along with that. Oh, very cool. Seek medical attention, Seek medical attention flashing on the screen. M But that's that. Oh And I've been playing a new game for Switch that I just bought today. Ember Knights, didn't you just buy a Pokemon game last week? Geez manum problem that I just bought today. I have been playing it is one thirty in the afternoon, playing a new game that I just bought today, So I don't know fucking four hours of it. But it's a Rogue Light. You can play four player co op, which is nice. So we're gonna be doing some coach co op with it, probably with me Alma and our Gillis and his fiancee Elaine, our couch co op potatoes. Is there gonna be some new videos that are gonna be coming up that I've already got some. We've already got some videos of us playing some Gang Beasts that I gotta sift through. It's pretty funny. That game does look very fun um, but yeah, gang Breasts. But that's uh, that's all I've been playing. Well, and Remnant too, but that's what we're gonna get into later. Mm hmm, dan m. I just by I delved into the new there's a new ce of Thieves event called the Monkey You remember the Monkey Island thing they put out, Yeah, I think it was on the Xbox showcase. Um. I think it's the first part of a new event. There might be more coming. Me Jagster and our buddy Josh from down South, good Southern boy that Jason knows. Um, we played it together. It was okay. I mean it was really clue and puzzle based. Um. I think the story is that some some pirate was married to this other pirate and they divorced and he wronged her somehow and she's out for revenge. I don't really remember a ghost it was. It was less action based, so there was some action in it, but a lot of it was clue and puzzle. But it was a whole new region. Was just kind of cool. There's like a whole new map. It's not like a massive map, but I think it's its own little island. And so far there's only part of it available. And we went up to this high peak and we looked around and there was tons more land masks, but we just couldn't get to Like if you went down toward it, you'd start slowing down, so you can't get down there yet. So I think they'll be releasing more over time. Um. But it's all instance based. I think you have to talk to a certain character and then they put you in the instance, so it transports you to that island. This is okay, so far this Yeah, it just came out. Um don't remember when a couple of weeks ago or something. I don't remember. Yeah. Anyways, I was like exter liking his new Xbox. Did you get back home yet? Or oh? Man? He's yeah, he's he's pretty thrilled for sure. He's like he's like, wow, it's so smooth. This is this is sixty fps. Wow? Yeah, man home, Oh my god, used to used to fifteen fps on the Xbox One. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, that's a that's that's a special feeling. Definitely, he's been installing some games. I think he installed Cyberpunk. Good to now play it on that Speaking of, I've also been playing Cyberpunk. I just dipped back into I don't know. Nick was talking. Nick was talking about it on Friday Night gamecast. It's like, damn, I got a craving for that too, because I haven't finished some of the side jobs yet. And I went in and I'm like, okay, well I've got nothing to do here, but then I'll just get like random phone calls to continue the jobs. After all this time, right, so I've got still got some stuff to do, some side jobs out to do, and it's just every time you go in there, it's it's sweet. I just wish there was more. I wish I could kill more things because it's coming, like, what do you? I know, I know, and that's kind of what I'm stoked. So I'm playing a little bit, doing a little bit the side jobs. I think it's September, September, end of September. Isn't it like twenty six or something. Oh my god, there's too much. Yeah, I know, it's crazy. It is. No students are going back to school. They're all gonna be like they're gonna take a break just playing video games, and they're gonna all fail the first semester. Like this year, you have Balder's Gate coming out on PS five, on the same day as Stars Starfield. You have Phantom Liberty, Liberal Live Liberty, Phantom Liberty. You have Spider Man two in October. M oh, maybe a birthday. But that's not more games. That's not even talking about the games that have been out all year, right, Like it's so insane, Like every month I've been dropping like one hundred Bucks. Yeah, that's just one September is just one month of twenty twenty three. Yeah. Yeah, anyway, the game awards are going to be insane. Yeah, then there's them. Yeah. I also have just been continuing my um story of seasons life, my second life, my second more wonderful life, second line. And so you playing this morning, Yeah, I was. I had to get a little bit. I wanted to get a little bit in. I definitely have been the The child influencing has been going very well. She now no longer says huh when I show her like ranching tools, like I show her the milker, and now she says, smells like animals. So you can tell that she's now graduating to like liking ranching more and her meters going up. And when I show her my chickens, she'll be like so cute as opposed to like flipping out or whatever. So it's working. It's working. No athletics for Marnie. No athletics for Marnie. You in those games that you can't meet out of your animals, it's too cool. It would never put that, you know, I bet you that's coming to Powell World. Oh yeah, that's that's the type of game where they would do it for sure. I also got man, it's been a life change er too, and I texted Joseph the same because he bought it as well. He's been playing it. But I bought the silver watering can and it's just like and it does nine squares as opposed to three now from the copper one. Just a life can't you get like, can't you get sprinklers? Yeah? I can. I don't know, I don't. Maybe it will one point, maybe at one point, but right now I'm just depending on that silver watering can because it takes me like two seconds to water them all now and it doesn't use um. It's more efficient with stamina consumption, which I was present pleasantly surprised to see because I don't think the copper watering can was the same case. I'm pretty sure I ended up using the same amount of energy as doing one single one. It should give you spend less because if I do all my fields with copper, I'm at a little bit less than half stam in a bar, But now if I do it with the silver, I'm at a little bit more than half yeah stam. So it's it's more efficient. So it's really really nice. It takes me no time at all to water, so that's been sweet. Other than that, that's really it. Um. I actually totally forgot to download wild Lands because I really wanted to, but yeah, oh god, I will. Another thing we were play I forgot, yeah, Ghost Wildlands, which is like an open world yeah classic you be soft shooter. Actually it's yeah, yeah, good world. You're dropped on this island. It's a good person but ADS is first person so oh right yeah, so when your ADS it goes first person. Um, but you've got to like hide and you know, be you got a scout. How many enemies are there, like if you want to raid like some compound, so it's all AI enemies right yeah, yeah, yeah, there's there's online multiplayer. There's different modes. But we were playing the campaign where you just load up into a co op. You load up and you can do the killop campaign or you can just run around the map doing various missions and you gain resources to buy skill points or whatever. It's pretty fun. It's almost like it's almost like a Grand Theft Auto feel like you run around third person. You can drive around in the cars. Big open world shooting, but just like the guns. There's obviously you can the gun. Gunsmithing is more in depth. You can add attachments and all that you find attached. Yeah, because it's Tom Clancy, isn't it. Yeah tomccon Yeah, so kind of like that. Yeah, it's pretty cool. Sweet, it was fun. I'll try. Should we get it? Yeah, it's on game Pass. So should we head into our today's topic? You've got the bones pick or something. I've got I think one gaming news Gaming news pretty funny, well funny, but okay, okay, Transition um Blue Protocol. Do you guys know that one? It's like that new RPG, the anime RPG coming um through Amazon Games. So they're bringing it out west side Blue Protocol. It looks pretty sick. I'm probably going to jump into that. Um but Blue Protocol Western release won't have a physics shake button's and some people are crying censorship. Physics shake yeah, so titch shake ass shake. Oh you know, Jabroni called out a few specific Oh what is his name is Joni Jabroni. I think he's like one of the devs. Okay, I remember, yes, I remember looking at this seeing this. Yeah, he called it a few specific changers players changes players can expect. Amazon Games has updated the outfits for some of the game's children characters to make their outfits less revealing. That's good. I like that change. Another change, this guy said is the art style is fucking sweetlo. Yeah, it looks amazing. It looks sweet. Amazon Games has made is the removal of the physics shake button for female characters on the character creation screen. The button did exactly what you think it did. Like, I guess you could shake the character and she'd like bounce a bit and they can see how her tits are, her ass jiggle, and he's like, these are the types of changes that are culturally accepted in Japan, which they do in their in their titles. Japan likes to do these things, right, Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's like in that fucking other that game the Samurai Ninja Chicks there, what the hell is that game called uh Senakura Games. It's like they're like ninja chicks and they're just tits are just bouncing everywhere, and there's like you can go into like the character kind of view mode or like in the change room and you can literally just cop a feel on them. It's so fu Yes, it is the weirdest shit and that's just like normal yeah over there, Yeah yeah, okay, so I have a question about so I'm not done about this, however, he says, in the West, it can be uncomfortable for our players and that's why, and that's where we'll step into, say, hey, can we make some slight changes for this And that's why they've decided to take the shake out news flash. Okay, the people playing these types of games play of them because of the shaking. Okay, Like I'm sorry, but yeah, so where's all your money gonna go? What you want these guys? You want these people to buy this game, right? Like leave the jiggle in? Yeah? Yeah, Like the people playing these games don't get uncomfortable when there's tits and as juggling around like fucking idiots. It seems like America is okay with blowing people's heads off and watching the blood spew from the wounds of the neck and running people over with your cars and killing police and having sex with prostitutes with full on nudity like in cyberpunk. Okay, but some titty jiggling in some anime cartoon game makes American makes American gamers uncomfortable. That makes me fucking laugh. That is fucking stupid. Just give us the option to turn it off for on, like, give us the option. So they removed all of the jiggle from the whole game or just the button to preve now, I don't I'm confused. I'm hoping they didn't clarify that. I'm hoping it's just the button to jiggle it at the character creation, because then those greasy nerds could just sit there all day and wank their gang and press the button to jiggle the tits. Right did they take out the cup of field sections? I don't know, but like twelve hours played, zero percent story accomplished. Yeah, twelve hours in the character creation. I've got twelve hours in the character creations creed of that game. Like, isn't this America? Give us a choice? I thought, this is America? Is this America? That was my news? What a stupid thing to do? Yeah? Oh my god, yeah that is dumb. That is super dumb. Let's uh m. I had a lot. I want to ask you guys on something though, for before moving on, just a tiny thing. Did you hear about this Pokemon sleepp app Oh god, yeah, yes, yes, I had written because we hadn't talked about it yet, and thrill House sent me some screens of course, going on, yeah, oh yeah, he has to try it. He's the Pokemon guinea pig. He'll try everything and you get I guess you get awarded Pokemon for if you do. If you sleep well, you get awarded Pokemon and stuff. Is that how it works? I don't sleep well. It's like a it's like a alarm clock too as well. I think it'll wake Yeah, at tracks your sleep. It does everything track sleep. Yeah, okay, I just thought, but it like records you while you sleep with the camera or something, doesn't it what there's an audio records your audio too, if it hears he's stirring and moving around and I think audio. Yeah, okay, you don't have to films recording sleep, recording you while you're sleeping, lying, fucking spreading, floating to Pokemon servers. Yeah, anyway, I don't know if you guys have heard of it, and it was that's that's the latest Pokemon it gadget. I guess, Oh my god, all right, all right, let's go, okay, let's go just put that and put his clip at the beginning of each that's the transition for this week's episode. I will do that actually. Fuck all right, So today's topic we're gonna talk about are upscaling technologies taking over gaming? Are they taking over gaming? Will just upscaling technologies and how they will play a part in the future of gaming? Are they taking over? Yes? Or no? Now what is upscaling? Should we outline that first? What is up scaling? Yes for Daniel, for the Nubes. What is upscaling? In your own words? I could have googled this, I could have written down a definition, but I want to hear it from you guys in the simplest terms, to explain this to me, Like I'm five, Okay, I think I can do it. Let me try to do it. So you're playing a game. Okay, your resolution on your screen is ten ADP. Let's say, but the game is really really chugging along, and you're like, I wish there was a way that I could play this a little bit better with a couple of more frames. So in the options, you flip on their upscaling technique, which would be either FSR DLSS, And what that does is it lowers the game resolution to let's say seven twenty P and then upscales it to ten ADP using AI technologies for DLSS or I don't really know what FSR uses some other upscaling technology similar, isn't it. No, it's not AI yet forever sar so not how to get into each one work, but that's essentially it. So it'll like play your game at a lower resolution, but upscale it to what your screen is at native resolution. Yeah, so you get more frames, yeah, as if you were running it at a lower resolution, but it should technically look better. Yeah, then you were running it at a lower resolution. Yeah, but it will just make it crisper and sharper using post processing technique space. Yeah, but like some techniques are better than others, right, So FSR one point zero is like a vassoline dump on your screen, Like it looks like shit. R The LSS looks pretty good, Okay. So like if your game's running like shit and you're like, oh and you don't have end videographics card, you can only use AMD's upscaling technology, with which is the FSR. So you flip that on and you're getting more frames, but it looks very blurry ghostie, you know, kind of like that so you're like, oh, is it worth it? Some artifacts maybe some things that don't belong that you're just popping up, Like what is that? So you're kind of like asking yourself, can I play the game at a smoother resolution but it looks all blurry and you can't really make out the details? Is it that important to you? Kind of thing? Okay, so let me just reiterate in some different words. Okay, it's like a post processing effect that just increases an apparent resolution crispness after it lowers the resolution. So it's like, instead of actually being a higher resolution, it lowers it and then uses effects to make it look like it's crisper so that you get a few frames back, and it makes up for that by increasing the fidelity a bit with its own technique. And that's and these techniques are d LSS or FSR or X. And with DLSS, with the the RTX cards, they have a separate chip on the board that's dedicated to that so that it's not using GPU to do that post processing to do that ail right, So kep its own dedicated tower source what's it called RTU. The chip, the DLSS chip on the RTX cards does it separate from the GPU, so the GPU can lower or it can render at that lower resolution while that other chip does all the DLSS. So it doesn't Yeah, it doesn't hit. It doesn't hit your card as hard as like FSR kind of does, right, because it has to do all those calculations with the raw power of the GPU because it doesn't have these AI chips. Yeah, okay, now this makes more sense. Okay, so let's do this. Listen to this. So Remnant two just came out, which is like one of the first games that Unreal Engine five has come out with, So it's an Unreal Engine five game. Nice and on the Steam forums, the dev's answered some questions about it. Quote, we've heard from a few folks about the game's overall performance. We're definitely going to roll out performance updates after the game's launch. But for the sake of transparency, we designed the game with upscaling in mind. D lss FSR XSS, So if you leave the upscaling settings as they are by default, you should have the smoothest gameplay. Now, I find that kind of shitty in a way where works online of many users not being able to get smooth Yeah, frame rates even with the LSS. Yeah, because you have to use no, because you have to specifically use performance d LSS, which is garbage, which is garbage. So I watched a lot of YouTubers like I forgot to write their names down, but he did like a whole thing. So um, there's like a you know how people have like the the afterburner frames per second, the losses, and then the graph that shows the stuttering. There's like a stuttering graphy. You can't remember the frame time. I think it's called time is how long in middleseconds it takes your GPU to render that frame. Yeah, and then it's like and there's like this so the stuttering whenever it stutters, you can see this graph go crazy. So he had it where it was two K resolution or like a regular resolution that people actually use these days, not ten d P or seven twenty p okay, so like two k four k native resolution, no upscaling technology, and it was garbage and just you could see the stuttering happening, like the micro stutters in the graph. And he's like, oh yeah, you can feel it when you turn around, like just stuttering like crazy. He puts on the LSS performance it's gone, like the graph is just flat, no more stuttering, YadA, YadA, YadA, and he gets a few extra frames right, Like, oh my god, what about like balance or quality? I would never use d LSS performance exactly never, Never would I use performance. Okay, shit, um this guy. I've got a little article from TechSpot dot com. So a lot of people on Reddit are kind of furious about all this shit and how if they want to play the game at a decent frame rate, not even like a good frame rate in mind as they should be, Like yeah, it's not cool. This is not cool. They like Nvidia markets this like oh, we have DLSS three, you can use it. Yeah, And it's like we don't want to use DLSS. We don't want upscaling. We don't want to use it. It's not cool to use that. I want my fucking two thousand dollars GPU to render this game's native resolution, thank you please? Like what the fuck? Yes, it's nothing cool, That's exactly it. That's exactly why I wanted to bring it to this table. Like some are calling people out, Like some Reddit users are calling developers out for now using these upscaling texts as a crutch for poorly optimized pcports, a problem we've seen many times this year. Sadly, it looks as if Remnant two might be said a precedent in which these technologies become intended requirement for the game to be playable. Like how disgusting is this going to be in the future where there's like, yeah, whatever, shave off a year of development or six months of development by just throwing on DLSS, right, yeah, well, okay, what I wanted to bring up is this, this is starting to become some kind of technology gap that what's being pushed in these games and what our current hardware can achieve. There's this gap even though playing natively, yeah, even though we're paying like these crazy prices for these GPUs, But like, yes, a forty ninety can run tons of games at insane frame rates. But when you throw four K and you throw rate racing into the mix, you'd be surprised how shitty even a forty ninety will perform. Like, even even with the forty ninety playing a game with four carry rate tracing, you have to use DLSS to get one hundred twenty fps. You have to use DLSS to even get one hundred fps, and their frame generation you have to use. That's a whole which is DLSS three like with ye, that's like the latest technology. It's just like, dude, I paid twenty five hundred dollars Canadian for this and I and this is what you're given me, Like this is what I get for that? What's the why? Yeah? Why? What's the fucking point? So kind of frames can you get with? Like RTX on four K, I have some metrics from my computer, okay, and some forty nineties okay. So Remnant two doesn't even have ray tracing. Really, it doesn't have the unreal Engine five lumens or any kind of ray tracing effects okay, and it still runs like asshole. So, oh my god, either a Undreal Engine five games just are not ready to be released. If all these Unreal Engine five games are going to be like this, we don't know yet. Obviously, this is the first kind of big one other than four hundree five supposed to fix this. Wasn't this? That's not man, what the hell is this? I guess it was supposed to That's that's the Could this be chalked up to developer laziness like saying, well, we don't need to optimize it that well, because we can just use upscaling, get it out, and then patch it later. Right, that's up to whoever. Like I don't, we don't know if that's what they're thinking. Probably, Okay, well, let's hear the frame rates. Let's see the frame rates from its four K with RTX on. Yeah, I'm curious. So my computer is a rise in nine X with an RTX thirty eight ten gigabit or ten gigabyte U card, and I've got thirty two gigs of RAM. Okay, so I've done my tests at two K resolution with ultra settings, no upscaling. I get thirty five to forty fps at two K resolution ultra settings. Oh boy, but the stuttering is disgusting Okay, Like it's just like like and then whenever, like I start getting into dense forest area, right, it's just fuck off. Like I can play it two K resolution high settings native sorry, two K high settings, no upscaling, forty five fps and then it gradually gets so two K resolution low settings. What do you need to get for sixty fps? This is it right here? Okay, two K ultra settings DLSS quality. I get sixty two f ps ultra stings though, Yes, but sixty two fps, Like, come on, I'm not playing on PS five sixty but it's it's over sixty. Yeah. So I've released on our Twitter um all my finicky settings that I have gone through to get me at seventy five to eight dy fps and the game looks good and the stuttering's gone. Okay, So I've got like the upscaling is on DLS quality. I will not move it off DLS quality, like I won't go performance, I won't go balance, I won't go auto. It has to be quality. It either has to be DLSS quality or it has to be d lss d LAA, which is their upscaling for their anti aliasing. M So first I do that first. I do d l l d LAA first before I even try DLSS quality, because it's just upscaling the anti aliasing. It's not upscaling the image. Right, Okay do you get that, Daniel? Yes? And I feel like I was Jaggies too, because anti alacing is what drives me nuts in the end anyway, right, And d d LAA for the anti alacing is fantastic. I use it on Diablo four and it's sick. It gives me like an extra ten fps and it doesn't alter the game's like image the rest of the texture. Yes, yes, exactly perfectly perfect. You got it. So I couldn't even use that in this game. I had to use d LSS quality and I had to move some stuff down to medium settings and it's a misshimash between medium and high to get seventy five fps, not even ninety, not even one hundred fps. Why do I even have this one hundred and sixty five Hurts monitor? Exactly? I was just gonna say, like, why, what's the point in the argument if you make the argument that you don't need anything over sixty fps? Okay, I guess, But why did I spend this money on my one hundred and twenty Hurts TV. Why did I spend this money on my one hundred and forty four Hurts gaming monitor. I think it's at two hundred and forty Hurts Gaming monitors. Marketing man, they just wanted to buy the They don't give a shit if what is actually delivered can be facilitated. They don't care. They just care that you handle them the money and they're like, oh, it's a it's one hundred and sixty five her frames from second monitor. But the games can't do that yet they don't care. So that's why I'm always the one being like, yeah, you don't need anything over sixty right now, because it's clearly still in quote unquote an experimental developmental stage. That's false. I play APEX Legends one hundred and sixty five frames per second. One hundred and sixty five hurts, Okay, I play like even even low settings, you can't get fp You can't get sixty fps at two K resolution low settings. Come on? Okay, what are the four what are the forty ninety numbers on this? Here we go ready, So a RTX forty ninety. The guy had roughly the same CPU as me. He had the three D version. Okay, fifty eight hundred three D. Yeah, is fifty nine hundred x three D or something like that. I haven't fifty eight keeping up with the cards. Now are the CPUs they're even on another series now, aren't they seventy seven thousand series? Oh yeah, seven thousand? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Um, but I was trying to get closer to my stuff. So the rt X forty ninety four k DLSS at quality mode ultra settings seventy fps at four K four not even native not even native resolution okay native resolution rt okay. Native resolution means no upscaling, no dear listener, dear listeners. Sorry. So for RTX forty ninety four K native resolution ultra quality settings forty five fps on a fucking forty ninety on a twenty five hundred dollars graphics card, it can't even get sixty fps at four K. Youch disgusting. This is disgusting people. Why are you buying these cards? Why are you buying a four thousand series card? Unbelievable? Play grand theft auto at two yes, like and all those mods right, yeah? What the fuck? Four K d LSS performance mode ultra quality graphics ninety fps. Oh, performance mode not even one hundred fps. That's two K d LSS quality ultra quality settings one hundred fps, like proved gross. It's so fucking gross. They think that that the setting the native resolution four K on ultra settings is kind of the quote unquote benchmark for the state that everything's in like like to me, after that, beyond that stat nothing else matters, because that tells me the state of things, I guess, and how dependent it's just this game. Yeah, sure, really sure. Now they're not a Triple A studio, so maybe they don't have the HUTCHPA. How's the hush? I think? Yeah, I don't know. Maybe they don't have that to like really push these games. Like if you gave this to out of resources, Yeah, give it to a Triple A studio, would they be able to do better? Like? I don't know, but the game is good. The game is very good. I'm enjoying playing it when I have my seventy FPS. I know I sound like a snob. I'm a I'm a Yeah, Okay, I'm a snob. That's fine, you can be a snob. Okay. Graphics card exactly, well, and it's PC. I mean, you guys have experienced PCs, will always be experiencing um ultra performance, and you guys can also fine tune your graphics and you can get the best out of performance. Okay, yeah talking about that. So what what are we supposed to expect the consoles to do now? Exactly? Yeah? Yeah, that's why I have written down here. But apparently it runs great on PS five sixty fps with an upscaled four K right, like it's probably running it so it's just a sub two K. Yeah, so they just shittedly poured it it over to PC. It could be that too. Yeah, But like people are saying, people saying, well, why do you have to play your game at ultra settings? It doesn't make any difference, you know why, Because people are paying twenty five hundred dollars for a graphics card. They're not you want to take it off ultra settings? Okay, yeah, for sure. Maybe if you buy like one of those like mid tier cards, you're not going to even play it at high settings. But if you're paying over a thousand dollars for a graphics card American or Canadian, I want to be able to play at ultra settings. Oh yeah? Okay, oh yeah? Fucking Should we talk about what the future of RTX is? Is it possible that ray tracing okay, this okay, this is not even a ray tracing game, but usually these are problems we see with ray trace games tech like typically right, like cyber Cyberpunk. But even Cyberpunk looks ten times better than this game and it runs ten times better. Okay, that's what I mean. Between Triple A and Double A Studios. Right, do you think ray tracing would would eventually die out because this massive gap it's causing. I think. I think as a gamer, you have to look at what's important to you. Like if ray tracing and these lumens and stuff isn't important to you, then an AMD card with the horsepower is probably going to be your better bet, right, like just the pure raw power of an MD card on just to play racing, native resolution frames on high graphics or whatever. Right Just like now that brings me to another point. I was thinking, is how AMD performance on this game that I did not look up? Okay, I was just kind of doing the DLSS thing, but in the future, like AMD, like if people are developing these games with DLSS in mind, okay, and then be like, oh, here's FSR one, which is garbage, FSR two is out. Why aren't they putting FSR two in these games? M Because because maybe it's paying them and videos paying them or something, right, Oh, we'll pay. You have to pay. They have to pay to use DLSS, don't they. I don't think so. I don't think so. I think it's like it's like, oh, it's kind of like a game pass thing. Maybe maybe they have their hand in the development or something like that. Right, So it's like, oh, if you put the LSS in our in your game, will help you implement it, right, They're like, okay, sweet, and so we'll develop this game with DLSS mainly in our brains, and then fuck m d's upscaler and fuck Intel's upscaler. Here's performance mode DLSS as default in your settings. The FSR two point zero two point two. It's open source, it's free. So you're saying it's open FSR is better than d l S S. No, I'm saying FSR one point zero is a m d's upscaler, which is much worse than DLSS uh two, which is in like every game. Now, yeah, but what about No, But what I'm saying is FSR two point zero Is it a better system? Is it? Does it? Does it deliver? Now? I'd say it's it's almost. It's almost there, Like if you had the choice, like, uh, you'd have to be a pixel peeper to really tell the difference. I think. So like if you have an MD card and you're using FSR two point one or two point two, like yeah, you're it's gonna look okay, right, Versus if you're on an nvideo card and you have DLSS two point zero, then you're like, oh, I'm gonna use that. But if you have an end video card that has both FSR two and then DLSS two, you're probably gonna want to use the DLSS because it's it's on an Nvidia card, right has an it has a separate chip, and it has the separate chip and all that ship. Okay, So in the future, if MD wants to have any kind of like leg up on Nvidia, their cards have to be monsters or they just bow out and create mid game or mid tier cards and not even go after the high tier market anymore. Like that's what I'm scared of. I'm scared that there's going to be no competition at the high tier market where the forty ninety is and everyone who is none it's already not even competition, so they're not even going to come out with anything to even try the ninety, right think, So yeah, there we go out that I've heard like that. That's already killing gamers right there, because then all those streamers, all the people who need to have the best they have to buy an Art forty ninety and they're still not getting sixty fps four K native resolution. Yeah, I have a point on Yeah, what I think as an ideal solution for gamers or what what would be best I mean changing our mindset. But you didn't answer my question. I ask if you think RTX would die out because of this massive gap and all this is. But yeah, I say probably not, just because the fact that this is the next level of realism. This is where it's pushing. It's it's um it's required to get to that stage of immersion, which is why all this upscaling business is here in the first place. Until we get our GPUs running on zero point energy obviously and having definite cooling capabilities so they can just draw thousand watts and you know, render a perfectly realistic lighting scene. But the upstate, the upscaling itself, will just have to keep getting better and better, and hopefully it trends towards an open source solution like FSRU and not DLSS. So we're not hamstrong by the scummiest company company alive in video. But as soon as AMD figures it out, figures out a ray tracing, you know, figures out what they're doing there, I hope it flips kind of towards them, didn't they just because it's open source for devs and motys mots can Yeah, yeah, you know what I mean. Yeah, now didn't this? Didn't this happen before where am D had an up had a leg up on like the hair works, how the hair flowed, and in video was like how the fat blah blah. So yeah, so in video takes the open source material, goes through it, puts their own little twist on it, and then makes it better and puts it on in video cards and then no one can get a hold of that code, essentially like making this whole thing again, like this whole loop, Like they can go take that open source stuff, make it better, stamp it within Video's thing, and then it's like, oh, we've got the better hair moving physics engine now because we took this and made it better with our engineers that we have here. YadA, YadA, YadA. So no matter how this so, no matter how good FSR is going to get, I think the LSS will always be a little bit better. Okay, well what if we think about this, What if it gets so good like all of them, let's say, let's say even Intel's xe SS FSR they get so good that the hardware is allowed to kind of get a little less powerful, you have more of a buffer zone, and the prices come down down. Yeah, because you don't need a crazy hardware to run a game at one hundred and twenty. Because the upscaling has gotten so good, that would be a good That would be good for us as constly, Yes it would. That's what I think is The ideal solution is where upscaling gets to a point where it's just not even an issue anymore. Every game has it and it works flawlessly. It allows the gamers to run the game they were meant to with hardware requirements that aren't so high, so that more people can get these experiences over a much broader range of hardware. But then in video won't sell as many GPUs, so maybe they'll never let it happen. Maybe they'll never let this happen. Maybe they're purposely hamstringing the AI technology just so they can sell GPUs boasting of their power, you know, capabilities, even though they fucking obviously don't perform that well on these crazy games, you know what I mean. I blame ray tracing. It's ruined every true it is it has, but it's so good and beautiful. But it's so cool that I now we've had the taste of it, nobody's want to go. Nobody's gonna want to see a world where ray tracing doesn't exist unless they somehow come up with another way to render realistic lighting situation. That's what this was supposed to be about. That's what Unreal Engine five was supposed to bring us. This new lumen's technology. But it hits the car, It hits the performance just as hard as conventional rytracing, which was in Cyberpunk, even harder now unless the engine isn't ready obviously, because these guys didn't even put it in their game. That's the thing. Well, what if we should? We should we talk about consoles a little bit now unless you have some extra points here? Yeah, what's your question about consoles? I mean it all applies except for the consoles. I know. I am not in videos, so their ray tracing isn't as good. So they do have to depend on upscaling more even more than PC does. Okay, but they haven't dialed in because but every hardware is the same. The developers know exactly what each one of their users has and they can dial it in. For PC, it's different. Everyone's got a different fucking GPU, manufacture, different chip set, different RAM, different CPU. It's much harder. Okay, that's much harder because my question was, you know, do we have Do console players have any control over this sort of technology? So that kind of answers it. We we don't really have any way to you know, we're just subject to to the console's power, to its hardware, right, and it's I guess, but usually you don't have as many issues because of that everyone, because I feel like as a console player it's a bit weird. Our experience is a little bit more streamlined. So it's hard for me to be like, yo, I paid all this money and I'm not getting you know, uh, native resolution and why are we using upscale? But it's because it's like the thing is, as a console player, if I spend ninety dollars on a game and eight hundred dollars on a console and it runs and looks great according to my expectations, I don't care about anything else, you know what I mean as a common consumer with a console and a game you just bought, whether it's brand new, whatever, the money I've spent if I get the experience, the performance out of the experience that's commensurate with what I paid. And I'm like, man, this runs great. I love the way it looks. There's rate tracing, there's amazing shadows and all this shit. I don't care, you know what I mean. So I guess that's where I stand person from from a personal uh point, you know, that's where I stand on the whole console thing. So I'm okay with their having to, you know, just use whatever they can for consoles right now because of that's what say, Because they've never fucking seen it on PC. Well, I know, you sure, and that's used to PC game, but I don't haven't experienced the modern world of PC gaming. But I also, again, I don't care because the result is as long as it's all about the product. But that's the thing. Not a lot of people have seen four K hundred twenty fps at ultra settings obviously, right, Well, yeah, it's apparently because it's not very possible. Yeah, so it's either four k's just older games, but that still can look really good. Yeah sure, yeah yeah, but like, um, what was I gonna say? So consoles, I don't even think they use FSR two point zero. Like a lot of Sony games, Sony has their own upscaling technology as well that they'll implement in their first party titles like God of War, Yeah, Spider Man, Like Spider Man's upscaling stuff is sick, like Miles Morales with the ray tracing looked and Rand Rand fantastic. Yeah on the on the PS five, like they have their own they're going to be twenty fps mode on Spider Man. You I don't know, oh, but like the games that I've been playing on PS five just to have like the comfort of sitting on my couch, not having to fiddle with settings, not having to worry about upscaling tech and all it's And they present it to me because it was ironed out before it was released, and they've this is like this is the best way it's going to look for you right now, Like here it is. And like I remember when when I turned on Hogwarts Legacy, that fucking blew my mind, That fucking blew my mind. That game it looked so good, right, and then I had a chance to play Hogwarts Legacy on PC at two K resolution with DLSS qualities, like this looks like shit, I don't want to play this m because my TV's four K. I bought two copies of that game. Yeah, I bought two copies just for one of them to be underwhelming. Okay, think about that. Let's say I rented my PC copy. I missed that. I want to play hardware Blockbuster from Blockbuster Video. But yeah, so it's a it's it's it's just tough. It's a tough in between time we're in right now. I think it's a bigger deal. I think it's more significantly disappointing for PC players. One. It's more disappointing to have to to have this news that developers are going to be using it more potentially and depending on it as a crutch. That's very, very disappointing because of the reasons we stated. The financial investment that you make in these in this hardware, and it cannot even deliver natively what you know you'd expect it to. That's a big You could make an argument for const consoles because the new consoles, the next gen consoles, they're supposed to be HUT four K, hundred and twenty. That's what PS five was supposed to be. That's what Xbox series. They were marketed as four K one twenty gaming. Barely any games play one twenty and they're definitely not at four K when they do, they're not even close. I think everyone underestimated the power that is needed to run four K games at like native resolution. I think it was very underestimated. Yeah, it's four times four times the size of ten ADP. That's like playing the game four times at the same time, at the same time, simultaneously. Yeah, so think about that. Yeah, that's true, that's what it is. It's not they just know that we are where that we're just suckling losers on their teeth where they were just like, we don't care, man, I want to drake because they don't. They don't care because what we're paying the money, yeah, or saying the money for it, and we're just here playing the games and buying the consoles, and we're just like and we just kind of accept that fact that oh, I'm not getting one hundred twenty frames or whatever at four K, just because I've got the game in my hands, and I'm like, look, how cool, and like you're kind of just dumbed, you know what I mean, You're just numbed. To it. So I guess it's just what it is. Yeah, yeah, exactly, We're just like god, yeah, all right, Well there you have it, folks. I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on this. Hopefully we're not just speaking into a void here. Oh so do we have Do we have final remarks? Ah? I've said everything I need to say, I think, Daniel, do you have a final remark? I have a final remark? All right, let's I think I pretty much summed it up. I think it's a I think it's a bigger deal for PC players. It's more disappointing. Like I said, all that stuff, that's just how I'm feeling right now. But I did learn I did learn something. I don't know what upscaling is and how they do it, and so I'm happy with that. Okay, So my final remark is, if this is the future, then it sucks. From the benchmarks i've seen, Unreal Engine five games are going to be ten ADP native graphics. If you want to play these Unreal Engined five games at higher resolutions at decent frame rates, you're gonna need help via upscaling. Maybe Unreal Engine five isn't ready for the mainstream. Yet maybe we need to get graphics cards that are two or three generations ahead of us, are ahead of us right now to be able to do this stuff. And that's not cool and upscaling is not cool. Okay, it's not cool. That's my catchphrase for the episode. Yeah, but if when you say generations ahead, when you talk about that, I actually had a thought about that. Oh there, Now I forget what it is. I just had it. What was he saying? What were you saying? I said, if we get if we travel to the future and get right, okay, okay, okay. So my thought was like, there needs to be a breakthrough in terms of like the silicon and the power consumption and the efficiency, the efficiency of the chips. That's what it is, because right now forty nineties sucking fucking four hundred watts six just for the GPU six hundred wats what is it? Shit like that? Wow? Okay, oh, so that's two much. It's too much power. You can't do that, just can't be. It has to get better. That's why I mentioned the zero point energy. You gotta gotta get the zero point energy, the alien technology going on our GPUs, the forty ninety pools forty or four. That's pretty fifty wats, which a lot, which is one hundred wats more than the thirty ninety timm Okay, what about the the AMD's top card. I think that pulls like five hundred something the seventy nine XTX and it's not even up there against the forty nine wattage pull. So there you have it. If we get our hands on alien tech, yeah, to enhance gaming, that would be something AMD dot com. What power supply do I need for SEVENTYTX minimum eight hundred wat system power supply will be needed, Yeah, but they have to guess what else you have in your computer? Yeah? What is the actual power draw measured on it? How do I find that we need tools for that? Power? Concussion? Power draw are our average system? We recommend that no one's given me a power draw. See if you can find it, you might Your Google food might be better. Sevent extras power from two eight pin power connectors with the power draw rated at three hundred and fifty five watts maximum three hundred and fifty five watts. That's two hundred less than the forty nine. Yeah, okay, now yeah, okay, there you go. But like all this stuff takes power, and the chips get hot when you give them power, so you got to cool them. So you can't just give them infinite fucking power. They'll just explode. It's just like they have to become more efficient. The cooling has to get better. There's a lot of things that have to happen in order for like you to get to that next level. And there's just got to be a breakthrough, either on the silicon side or on the cooling side, or both. And it's just not that easy, I guess you could say. But yeah, I think they've just hit a spot where just like they just keep pushing the current, they just keep boiling the current tech so hot and getting that power out that that's why the graphics cards are the size of fucking xboxes. You know what I mean. You need to have massive coolers. You have to have massive coolers for a chip like what a couple inches by a couple inches? Oh my god. Okay, So a couple of theories you guys have thrown out. Number one upscaling just has to get better, has to get better. Number two theory it has to get it has to get so good that you cannot tell the difference between yea native resolution and the upscaled resolution. Yep, that's ideal. And then when we get to that point, we'll reach a new era. We'll reach a utopia of gaming, gamingtopia where you could play I could play on my iPad a game the same performance as I could play on my PC at the same resolution. You know what I mean. It's like hardware would become It would just become. It wouldn't matter, you know what I mean. Imagine that I want to go to that place. I want to I want to live in that place we lived there. Go on, Daniel, Well number two is that energy consumption of this hardware has to just become more efficient. So we'll see. I guess we'll see which happens first next find out next time on Dragon Ballzy. All right, everyone, I think that's it for this week's episode. I think we brought some concerns as gamers to light. We we we brought you know, the why and the how and and and what's going on and and I mean tell us your thoughts, tell us your thoughts. I want to hear from people here. Maybe we'll put something on the Twitter. Maybe we'll put something on Twitter. But thanks everyone for taking the time to listen and watch, or watch and like and subscribe.
