Hello everybody, and welcome to another episode of the Elder Trolls gaming podcast. If you are new in joining us, we are two brothers who get together and talk about gaming. We should really should instead of drinking maybe the I went for a walk with the dogs and I see some I like, I don't know why I looked up. I'm just looking up the bird and there's geese flying by three geese okay, handed a goose Canada geese, And I literally saw one of them just shit and it fell like it just missed me. It was like, I don't know, a few feet away, and then it smacked on the fence that I was like there. I was like what because it's not liquid. Yeah, they're turds. They're actual turds. But I didn't think they shat while they were flying. I thought goose like walked around and shot on the ground, like that's goose shit everywhere like parks. And stuff like that. But I've never I didn't know that they shit while flying, just dropping turds. Imagine how hard that d if you got smacked with like a like smacked the fence beside me. I was like, holy shit, man, what the fuck? And I saw it the whole way. I saw the turds fall, But then. You weren't a good thing. You weren't wearing a sombrero. And a fucking ball hits across the street, hits the fucking light post, like this guy shanked it so bad it went off of the hole, a cross over my across the street like froaly twenty feet from me. Pullm it. It's what happens if that smokes a car and someone gets in a car wreck, Who do they sue? I don't fucking know, man, the golfer is I is responsible? I would assume that, man, I don't know. And then it bounced off of the light posts all the way back down the road, like towards the tea box. It almost made it all the way back to the tea box. This guy probably the worst golf shot I've ever fucking seen. And I was like, holy shit, man, I'm like, I'm dodging fucking golf balls goose turts like and I'm hungover. I'm just like, oh, what is happening? Like, I was so fucking I was like, I gotta get home. Fuck my walk. But the dogs was quite nice. Actually, oh my god, very nice day. The dogs were very good walking actually for once. Wow. We started feeding them in the morning and at night now all at night because they're on kibble, so I don't have to like keep the raw food around, so I just feed them, so in the morning, feed them at night. They stink more, definitely smell way worse on kibble. The dogs smell dogs like their. Breath, their body. Yeah, my dog's breath fucking stinks and they're on raw so I don't know if that's it. Well, fins always breath stinks, but like huck now stinks more gross as kibbles. Their ships are so gross, man, Like if you feed your if anybody does, if everyone want anyone wants to know, Like if you feed your dogs are raw meat diet, like raw bone meat, all that kind of shit. They're turds. They take all that nutrients and everything from the raw food, and their turds are like my big huskies. Their turds are tiny, very tiny, and they're hard, right, but now they're soft, big soft ships, full bag of shit. It's so gross man. Yeah, if I could, if I could keep feeding them raw, I would, but it's way too expensive now, way too expensive for two big dogs. Yeah, for big dogs. I don't see this as a surprise. Till May twenty six. Yeah, twenty twenty six. And at first I thought it said twenty twenty five. I'm not gonna lie, And I was like, what, what like next week? Yeah? Like next month? And then I was I don't know why. For some reason, the sixes canceled each other or something. I was like, oh no, next year. I was like, fuck, well, that's not good for anyone who picked it in their fantasy, in their fantasy critic raw wow suck it, rob it sucks. Oh yeah, I mean they were. I thought they were pretty adamant about it. No, they never they said. I thought they said it's coming fall twenty twenty five. No, it's all been speculation. I could not find anyone from rock Star or any press that said from anybody from rocks Are saying it was coming out like a solid. Thought it was. I think they said fall, not a falt date. They said fall, yeah, twenty five. And then obviously because they deleted it, but like, yeah, no one really. I think that was said like once and they're like whatever. Now May twenty six. Man, that's that's quite a delay. That's quite a delay. And we might even see a fucking we're going to see a new console from Xbox. Maybe not, I don't know. I don't think in twenty twenty six. But I think what I think it is is they just can't optimize it properly for these pieces of third consoles. That's what I think it is. I think it's probably pretty much done, and they're just like, this game cannot run at a reasonable performance metric on these consoles like that, I that's gotta be it. It has to be it. If they're trying to get this. Game to run on a series s, like, oh my god, it's series Yeah, I can't even they should just rap series s, like just stop fucking developing for it. Sorry if you have one, but could we get something else? Geez, I have one, but I use it mainly to remote play my PC. So and then in our last episode about it, there was an insider who said that the PC release was quarter one, twenty twenty six. So what I'm thinking is they're delaying the console releases to get them up to part and they'll finally release all at once, all the platforms at once for once in their fucking life. Maybe imagine that where PC players get to play at the same time. That would be cool. I'm curious about the online, about the online and like when that comes out, if that's going to be part of it or what. That would be cool, And it would be cool if it was cross platform because the last one wasn't, which was really fucking annoying. Cross gen cross platform, like online is not cross platform. We had I had to play on Xbox. Yeah, that's right, that's right. My Xbox sucked. It was like a one x Yeah okay, so yeah, that's that's that's that. Another news, speaking of Xbox, who price increases we have we have price increases going forward. Here are the expected prices on various Xbox consoles and accessories in the US. Xbox Series S is going to be three seventy nine US from two ninety nine. Three seventy nine eighty dollars more for a five to twelve Series S. That's five hundred and twenty five dollars Canadian. I would never in anybody's life, in any lifetime, would I pay that much for a series that is absolutely ridiculous. That's one terabyte. Is four to twenty nine up from three forty nine. The series X Digital five forty nine. This is expected, now this is not for sure. Yeah, okay, so five forty nine ninety nine US for a series X Digital and the series X Regular five to ninety nine USD, which is crazy. That's what it costs. That's what it costs in Canadian right now, five ninety nine Canadian Now. That's still expensive. That's eight hundred dollars. That's fucking insanely expence, eight hundred and thirty bucks. Now. IGN reports that these prices are going to into effect globally, which is interesting because we know why these rices are being high. Yes, we know, but the official xbox announcement doesn't really allude to that. It states markets not listed above Canada Canada wasn't listed specifically will also receive updated recommended retail pricing, and local pricing may differ by country to reflect exchange rates and market conditions. Okay, to me, market conditions is tariffs is tariffs, but in Canada, like, we don't have tariffs, Like, we're not tariffing them the xboxes, right, So does that mean the prices won't go up for us or a little bit like why are there updated recommended retail pricing in markets that aren't affected by teriffs? That's what I'm wondering. So are they just going to hike them anyway? They're gonna hike them anyway, so those retailers can get a lot like. Going to hike them in those non like markets that are not affected. Yeah, so we're just gonna get a price increase. And I think I think we're probably gonna get a price increase just because because you can't have them sell you can't have the console sell at a USD price and it is the same number value the number. It has a Canadian it happens back no fu when where Yeah, I think I'm pretty sure they could do that. I mean, they just come here to buy them. But yeah, that's what will happen if they don't change the price here. They're just gonna get a bunch of people trying to buy xboxes over the border. And I don't know who's actually buying these right now? It's four what four years old? Like yeah, four year old tech go down in price after five years. Yeah, this is a four year old console, and you're gonna no one's gonna be buying these, like no, And I wonder what the sales were leading up to this, Like how many consoles are they selling, like, you know, in twenty twenty five, how many xboxes are they moving? Because it's been out for a long fucking time now and these prices going up, who's going to be buying this? Like five ninety nine USD for almost five year old console. That's eight high undred and twenty five million dollars. I don't think that's happening. You can get a PS five Pro for not much more, you know what I mean? Well, I'm assuming Sony's gonna follow follow suit here and jack their prices too soon. I think get a PS five Pro now before it fuck it goes up another one hundred bucks. Maybe, Yeah, I mean I think people will be waiting for the for the next Xbox. Why would they spend that much? Now? I would not, I wouldn't just fucking wait, that's craziness, M Like you would think that. Okay, well, we're planning on lowering the price of the Xbox because it's been out for five years, right, So let's just keep it at the same price, you know what I mean? Just don't touch the price because you're gonna. I think they just lose too much of them. They can't lower the price. No, don't lower the price. Just don't touch the price. But they would effectively lower it if they were to keep it the same because of the tariffs or whatever. Yeah, say there wasn't. They'd be losing even more money and they're already like losing money. Yeah, but say there was no such thing as the tariffs right now, the console would probably go down in price, probably this year, sometime on their five years, six years, the console is probably gonna go on sale, like it's gonna go. Down maybe maybe maybe he'll still be sales and stuff. But now with this, the Nintendo switch doesn't look too bad now, does Itugh? Fucking let's switch now six ninety nine for the Canadian bundle for the Bunario Carpindal. Yeah, that's a lot. That's still a lot. And the Xbox games are going up to eighty dollars US. Yes, I have that here. Digital games are increasing in price as well. Nintendo did they set the precedence for this. We saw this coming. Probably PS five will likely follow because why not. But Xbox stated that they are going to go up to eighty dollars US because they can, like they blame market conditions for this. Are they just blaming that or maybe they're just doing it because they can in China it's a digital game, you can't, So they're just increasing the price. For digital games. Yet that's that's where they can. Make because Nintendo did it though, as soon as Nintendo did that on the switch to like, why did They're gonna They're gonna. License transfers over the internet. Like that's all it is, you know what I mean? Like it's it's it's no, there's no material to that. Why would they raise the price of digital. Games just to make them even with the just to make. Them even and that's where they make their market. Because then no one would buy physical games? Probably, well maybe something. No one's they're cutting out physical games anyway. What do you fucking think game Pass is doing? Like no one's buying physical games anyway? All right, well did they did they already up game Pass price recently? Uh? Well no, they did that not too long ago, didn't they? Remember they did the whole price increase in the. Because PlayStation up their subscription fee to an absurd amount that I would never never pay the PlayStation one the subscription now, what is it crazy? It's like three hundred something Canadian. But there's multiple tiers too though. Yeah, each tier is even crazier than the last. So the Essentials is essentials is just monthly games and online multiplayer. The Essential one hundred and nine and ten. Bucks Canadian ten But that's like. That's nothing per a year. It's less than ten bucks. Ten bucks a month extra is one hundred and eighty nine. That's a big jump. And then two twenty four to. Twenty five per year to twenty five a year. What's that a month? Someone do math? This doesn't look great. I'm pretty sure it was more expensive than this. It's eighteen bucks a month. I had the essentials or the essential one. I mean, premium is eighteen bucks a month. That's not that bad. But you do have to dish it all twenty five. Bucks a month? Oh you mean if you buy it at twelve months. Yeah, you buy the year. Why do they charge per month? By month? Per month? Yeah? Okay, well the year a month or oh yeah, you saved six bucks a month and if you buy it in one shot. But like a lot of people don't want to buy it one. I was a little bit more absurd than that for some reason. Why was it if you paid five bucks a month, Yes, that's not that's horrible. Twenty five bucks a month, yeah, that's crazy. And if you're paying and those that's not even day one, like day one first party stuff, you know what I mean? Like that's true. It's not like, it's not like game pass. Yeah, yeah, twenty five bucks. What are you buying for game trials? Cloud streaming, give me a break? Classics catalog, classics catalog. I don't know. I played Ghost on it. I rented it for a month and played Ghost. Twenty five bucks. Yeah, the premium one when it was the top tier. I think, Man, I haven't turned on my PlayStation so long. That's a lie. I've played, Uh called. Them and you're complaining about it. And I re downloaded Overwatch too on my PlayStation. Wow, uninstalled Mars. Mm hmmm mm hmmm hmmm. Because uh, they have that new it's a stadium mode or something like that. It's pretty cool where you can go between third, third person and first person. Now yeah, oh my god. And then you can have to they have to cater, right, they have to take some people back. But there's a new hero now. They're doing like a Gundam Wing crossover skin series. They're pretty sweet. So I jumped back in. Wow, played a little bit. I got another thing here. You saw this, the the Blizzard thing. The World of Warcraft is getting a one button option that will automatically cast the idea the next spell. Just just bring in as many people as you can, right, but they're trying anything. I mean, I guess it gives there's like a cost. It gives you. Your global cool downs are increased when you use this thing. So it's not ideal to use. It's only for like rainless, yeah, eating a sandwich for people who just don't I guess, just don't get. It's to help you learn the rotation. Right, Yeah, you'll see it. It'll tell you, oh, this one is the ideal spell. Blah blah blah. But you remember like when like didn't he'll bot do that. Originally the original Kilbought mode. You could you could macro it where it was like cast this once this is done, cast this, once this is done. Cast you just pressed once and go through the rotation. Perfect, you just sit there. But he'll bought. What I liked about he'll Bot is you could make the the player's frames super large and depending and it's click on them and depending on what kind of click you use is whatever spell fuck It was amazing. Yeah, like control click, shift, click, right click. Long long hard big heel would be like regular h like control click and just a regular click would be like my short fast heels. Oh fuck, so sweet. That's cool. It was awesome. That is cool. Sham wow. But yeah, that's pretty funny. I thought that was funny. That's ridiculous. Next, I saw something very funny on Reddit a post. I don't know if this is for real. Uh did you see this? My friend has played Oblivion for eighty seven hours and it's still level flowers. Yeah, Remastered refuses to fast travel and thinks that's completely normal. Like, I don't know. Red played Oblivion and basically tried to hundred percent the game before starting the main quest. He spent twelve real hours just in the tutorial dungeon because he wanted to detest every weapon type and reach max acrobatics by jumping everywhere before he saw sunlight. Some people. That can't be real. This can't be real. He finally steps out of the open world and I'm like, so, did you go to Wayne in priory? And he says, what's that? Uh? You know the place where you take the ambulletce of Kings at the start? Oh no, I'm not doing that yet. I'm still collecting neurn Root. I need all three hundred and five, just like what I. Thought, you only need for what for the quest? There's a quest that you need urn root for. I don't know why. Yeah. I ask him how far he is in the Fighter's guild and he hits me with, oh, I'm not starting any guild until I've completed every single city's local quest and built my own alchemy lab in every player home. What this isn't real. He also refuses to fast travel like at all will He'll walk across seer deal in real time, stopping to role play meals and sleep. He won't enter any alien ruins unless it's historically consistent for his character's background. Oh my god. Uh, he's still love a four? He still love a four? Not because he skipped leveling. No, he's sleeping in one hour increments to micro control his attribute gains and avoid inefficient stat growth. He once spent two full in game weeks training speechcraft with beggars just so he could feel more confident asking guards for direction. Yes, I'm starting to think he's going to actually become the Champion of Ciardale in real life before he finishes the damn game? Am I wrong for losing my mind over this? Is it possible to play Oblivion too? Right? Is it? Possible to play Oblivion too, right, that's sucking funny. You guys have shared some awesome stories and challenged me how I should look at gaming. I've decided to give my friend the Deluxe Edition upgrade. I sincerely hope this doesn't cause him to have a panic attack and relapse back to starting a new character. I don't know, it seems like it's could be real, Like, yeah, the speech crash for the guards is giving directions that ridiculous. But there's some people I'm sure that would do. This that is actually hilarious. Like I'm going to get back into the remastered after playing the game I'm currently playing. What I finished about Oh yeah it was good. Yes, yes, it wasn't amazing though, Yeah, not because of anything that it that it did, Like I didn't. It was nothing that I was frustrated with. Like I never got frustrated with anything. It plays well, it's pretty fun. It's just what it doesn't do, you know, it doesn't give you that that real living world. And maybe it's just because maybe it's just because I'm coming from Yeah, I came from Henry, and it might be better subjectively to someone who didn't just come off of that Hi, you know, playing Henry, I'd say, it's like it's like a seven and a half. That's that's what's There is a lot of choice though, Like there's a lot of times where they make they make you make a decision which I feel has like big consequences on what happens. So there is a lot of that stuff. But again I just didn't It wasn't really I was kind of just going through the motions. I didn't really care. I didn't really care about finishing it, you know, like the story was okay, the combat was the best part for sure, but like I I don't feel like I'll play it again to try something else, you know, like try another spec or try that. I just won't. No, Like it looked nice, I played it once through. Whatever, that's it. See, I have this problem. There's a lot of game pass games that are all like seven out of tens. Not okay, not game pass games, i'd say, but more like their Microsoft Studio games. Microsoft Studio games. Yeah, like a VOW would be. Now a Microsoft Studio game. Is it with Obsidian? Yeah, Obsidion, as the French would say, mm hmm. But like I've I kind of expected that from a VOWED for some reason. I kind of expected it to be like a like a not great game, but not a bad game, just like a game to play. That's what I just heard. It was. I just I just kind of had nothing to play, so I was like, well, I think I'll play about I don't know, yeah, but yeah, but then but then I also wanted to finish it to start playing. Speaking of the French, yes, the only time I like the French is when they make good games. I'm just joking. I'm just joking. But the game that I guess I've been playing for for I pumped like twenty four hours into it. Now I'm like ten hours in twenty four. Is get this, Claire obscure, Expedition thirty. Three, Claire obscure. I didn't even know secure it in the title. I thought they were called Expedition thirty three. I don't know what all these words. Mean, Claire obscure. Yeah, I don't know. All I know what the expedition means. Yeah, why did they just name it Expedition thirty three? I don't know why, Claire. So, first of all, my first impression after a few hours of this game, name was too long. After a few hours of the game, it's like, you know what, Yeah, the name is too long. Name is too long. So now I just call it thirty three and everyone knows what I'm talking about. My wife's like, I was like, what is this? So my clerbs? So I just paused the game and I tell her to read the title or h But the story characters so far, solid, solid. That prologue, Oh my god. Yeah, it was cool, very fucking cool. You know it's not cool thes yuys. Just let me get into that. Yeah, great voice acting number three, uh number four, sharpening is out of control. Oh yeah, it couldn't tell. It was disgusting. Yeah, I was like, what is what? I was, what is my eyes? Like? What? There's no one else on this planet? See this? Is it? Just me? Like what the fuck is happening? Like I was talking to the discord like it looks fine to me. I'm like, what the fuck is going on here? And like Console or even onyx it's because it's in nvidio probably yeah, okay, now yeah, So I checked the settings and there's no FSR. Correct like, so no way to turn off upscaling or just sharpness or just like uh for am D cards yeah, okay, brutal. Yeah, Like what, like what the fuck is this? So I had it max crank max okay, like two K resolution and it looked like asshole with that sharpening shit. Yeah, I was. I was like, how is this max settings right now? This is disgusting? Yeah, And I spent I don't know how many I like searched online. There's gotta be a oh, there's got to be a sharpening filter that they forgot to disable or something because I'm not in saying right now. And then Steam was blowing off the charts about this sharpening shit. I was like, oh, thank god, that's the only one. Like I even ran it at four K with high grass. I'm running it at four K. I had a four K epic. It looked like asshole, look like ass and like sometimes I notice these very there's these weird smudgie blurring around the characters, like in the cut scenes, like between the character models kind of and the blurred background. Yeah, there's this weird like artifacting. I was like, trying to be crazy looks so bad and the jagged like really on. Their faces, on their edge, on the edge of their faces, like yes, and really bad staircases. Really bad aliasing, like it looks like it's super low resolution, like literally like a staircase. Yeah, it looks like I'm like, what is this seven twenty P Like, what the hell is this? I have it running at four K four K epic settings. I lost it. I will stop playing. I assume this is because you can't turn off TSR. It's just always on. Yeah, you can go, but it's like always there and there's no option to turn that off, which is disappointing, very disappointing, very disappointing. It looks yeah, really low reds looks horrible. There's no HDR on PC. I could tell definitely. I don't know, but yeah, you have to download that fix, that fix, the fix from gethab. It's called like Claire fix or something. I don't know, Alice, Alice's Claire fix. Oh man, you have to do this if you're running an AMD card, I guess, but even if, maybe if you're not, like because all it's so bad. All the issues I've read it was, everyone's like, oh I have a ninety seventy XT. I have a ninety seventy seventy XDX, but all MD cards they're all complaining. So I think this is some sort of Nvidia shill game where I don't know if Nvidia paid them off to not include FSR. Just just a really fuck fuck us right wow. Here it was brutal because everyone's like, oh, I don't have a problem. It's like, okay, what card do you have. It's like, oh, a forty seventy or forty sixty or forty eight. They're like, oh yeah, because DLSS is there obviously, and then everyone's like use DLSS. Don't use the d d LAA, which is their anti A leasing, because apparently that had issues. But like the DLSS quality mode was perfectly fine. So like if you're running an airy card, you gotta go get that fix. It's yeah, the fix makes it playable at least. Holy crap, Like it still doesn't look super good whenever it's like kind of zoomed in, I noticed some of those pool reds kind of Jaggi's and I'm like, oh what Yeah, but definitely makes it look better. Yeah. Just disabling the sharpening filter alone, Oh my god, it is like night and day. Yeah. So I'm running at four K crazy four K high four K high settings and it's running at sixty sixty fps, so yeah, yeah, yeah, that's so this morning for sure. Yeah. So right now I'm mainly remote playing it to my PC to my TV at two K resolution with a mix of high high ultra at sixty fps now and I can hit those dodges and I can hit those paris and everything no problem. So really so like unremote. It's running fantastic, huh. And it looks really good on the old I don't know, on the TV because because maybe because I'm further away, probably because I'm further away. I'm running native while you're running Is that no native? I'm assuming it is. That's they're off ts R one. But I'm thinking it still creates some kind of artifacts. Yeah, it has to. For a second, I couldn't find an official mention, but I don't think there is rate tracing in this. If it is, it's like a base, like a based software lumen like in Oblivion Remaster, where you can turn hardware allumin on or software allumin on. I think software lumen is like a lower end rate tracing. There is a mod that unlocks hardware allumin which is the more expensive, better looking rate racing, and I doubtloaded it, and I enabled it, and this game looks incredible. Shit turned on. Okay, I had to sacrifice my solution to two K. Okay, it's fine, but man, it looks very pretty, very pretty. But yeah, after that performance stuff. Even with the seventy nine hundred XTX does terracing does the retracing well. With all those fixes, those performance tweaks and those engine dot I and I files I downloaded and all this shit. Okay, I've modited it quite a bit to get Unreal Engine five working to the way I like it. Okay, is this five this game? Eh? Is this unreal engine? Yeah? I didn't even know. Well, that's where the TSR is, you're if you see, because TSR is the unreal engine, the unreligent five built in upscaler thing. That's sad, all right. Yeah, but so the story took about the story right off the bat. Yeah, the game is pretty heavy, Like it feels like very somber and like yes and like sad even and it definitely sets it up as this as this heavy thing that's happening. And the voice actors, yes, portrayed that really well in the early game, like. Voice actor like Jennifer English as Mael who is shadow Heart from Bowler's Gate. Three, Yes, and Charlie Cox who is Gustav who is Daredevil. And none of then Andy Serkis as the Man antagonist renoir renoi. Yes, the man with the white hair, is that Andy Serkis? So, I guess there's there was this event that happened called the Fracture that happened sixty seven years before present time that you're playing in and it's split, like the world apart, and yeah, smashed the world, smash the world and you're in this. I guess it was Paris. I'm guessing because there was an Eiffel tower, Yeah, kind of melted or something. Well, they call it Luminiere, right, Loumiere. They call it the city Loumiere. The city of lights. If you guys didn't know, Yeah, because I speak French. Now, loumiere is that does mean light lights. But yeah, so it's it's kind of steam punky. It reminds me of lizav p quite a bit. Yeah. When I was, I was like, man, this reminds me of Lies of. P Yeah, it's kind of like it's not futuristic, it's not. It's kind of like in the past, but but they have machines and stuff, like he created his arm goo stuff, created this prosthetic that he fights with. So it's kind of it's not quite steampunky, but it's kind of steam punky, you know. And they kind of dress an old school attire and like. Old Paris attire. It looks so old it looks like an old time time period. Yeah. But yeah, So anyway, they every year since the sixty seven years before, I guess they there's a big countdown that is happening on some monolith that they everyone can see from the city that's like across the sea as a giant countdown, and every time it counts down, whoever is of the age of the countdown just disappears and gets wiped out, like like fucking Thanos, you know, like Thanos snapped out by this person called the Paintress, who we don't know who it is. I don't know who it is yet. Very mysterious, very mysterious. I'm about ten hours in did you get yet. Yeah, I got to the iact one. We just got the guy there, the new guy Veros. What's his name? I forget his name now. I literally just played it an hour ago, but verso verso verso Yeah, he is fucking crazy, like he's so strong. I shot everything. With him by for now you will. But yeah, like so one trotting everything another piece. Of my What I didn't like about this game when I first started, Like the main character Gustaf, I was like, I'm not He's just a whiney little baby, really not very good at his job, you know, at his job of dealing damage. And like, yeah, I don't like him. He wasn't very good. Yeah, and then he damaged dealing and then unless you had to charge up his thing, it took forever. Yeah, and then it was like five turns. And he's kind of not like confident like I want to see in a in a main character or whatever. But they obviously they they fixed this. That's all I'll say about that. Yeah, the was I gonna say it reminds me the game kind of reminds me of an old like an old RPG, like an old like nine Cross, yes, like Cross like like Final. I don't know why Fantasy eight style or Legend of Dragoon the combat. I think it's just because there's like a world map too that it zooms out and you get to go around on the world map and then you go into the kind of local areas, kind of like those old games. That's a classic, like Mechanic. It's turn based, it's a turn based RPG. It really does remind me of like of that old kind of Coronacross, Like you said, Coronacross, Legend Dragoon Final, Fantasy eight, you know, not so much, but obviously eight specifically for some reason, I don't know why. Maybe the aesthetic, maybe the aesthetic. Yeah, but yeah, it's really cool. It's really freaking cool. So we'll continue the story just a bit more. The So, now every year before you disappear from her, counting your age off the monolith, you can join the expeditioners like expeditionists, the expedition the expedition expeditionaries. Yeah, you can join them and try to go stop her from painting the new number. So an expedition leaves to try to find out what's going on and to stop her, and that's where your party comes. In, you are exhision thirty three. The countdown is at thirty three. At the beginning of game, it's at thirty four, and it counts down one and a bunch of people. I'm wondering why thirty three they just randomly picked that number. I don't know. I haven't figured that out yet. But yeah, the the story is still quite mysterious, and I'm like, I'm pretty close to the next boss is the last boss, so it's still don't even starting. But I think you have to piece it together with all the journals you find and all that kind of stuff. I haven't found many. I have only found like five. You have to go beat around. You have to go off the beating beaten bush and like count islands. Oh okay, okay, okay, Yeah, the combat is going back to the combat. I kind of suck at dodging. I don't know dodging. At dodging, it's just like you can never really tell when they're gonna freaking attack. Sometimes it pisses me off. By the time you learn the timing of the of the enemy, you've already taken a bunch of damage. That's like that brow that's a visual queue. Yeah, This is a turn based RPG. This is not a Soul's like fucking rpg. There, it is give me a visual queue of when he will attack me, and I will dodge it or perry it. There are small ones, and there are. But yeah, but still you have to have to die or you have you have to die, and you have to like you have to waste your time learning the fight instead of just. I love that because I'm used to the whole Souls games where like you gotta be quick just when the last fraction of the second when it does hit you. They do give you a larger window for dodging than they do pairying, for sure. For sure, Yeah, dodging is easier. It says it in the Yes Tutor that dodging is easier than parrying. Yeah, but you don't get you don't get an ap for dodging unless you have the the pictose for it. Yeah. So, speaking of pictose, you get these little I don't know cards whatever they are skills you can slot in like a materior Yeah yeah, yeah, okay, yes, and you can slot them in on each character. Each character gets three pictose that you can choose for that character to level up once Uh, once you fought five battles with this pictose equipped, they'll be permanent and you can can be permanent. No, they will be yeah, but you have to spend points on it. Yeah. Yeah, so then you can unequip it, put another one in, level that one until like all the pictose are there for grabs. You don't have to use the cards anymore. And then you get these things that Gustav invented, which is called the Lumiere's so he can and digital. Gustav invented that. He invented the device that converts the pictose to thelemir. Right. Uh, so once you've leveled out pictose and you want to add it to your character without taking up a slot, you can spend lumiere. Yeah, I don't know what the fuck is called luminous. Loomy luminous points some light points, Yeah. To keep it on your character for good, but it costs a lot of light points. Very cool, Yeah, very it's cool. And you can like build out a build out a spec huge that. Yes, and you can spec through your abilities as well your actual skills, which is cool because I have like who I like the cl chick, She's like my main driver yeah. Yeah, she's like you can do if you get her in that Twilight thing, and you get her in the Twilight thing and you apply those little square or whatever on the boss. The uh fortune of fortune cards. Yeah, the little card. There's little cards that you can apply on the boss. And once you have them applied and you're in your Towilettel thing, yeah, Foretel and you're in your Twilight thing, you absolutely fucking crank the guy. Like you do so much damage. So right now for her, I'm doing a krit quit build where my main attack that I'm trying to build my ap towards for every crit that I hit, it doesn't spend a Foretel off the boss. Yeah yeah, and I just keep building that shit and just yeah yeah, oh bit it's so good. Yeah I hear. I have her cred at like thirty or something like that. So good. But like it's what's addictive is there's so many different like you can build stuff based on like a fire, based on marking people based on Yeah. I like Male's pretty good too. I think my avenues there much. Really, she's better than Lone. Yeah, Luna is not very good. She's not good at all. No, I took her out of my party. Yes, I was like, this mean someone else comes along. He's pretty good as well. So right now my party consists of well I can't get into that, that's spoiler. Yeah, I don't use my l and I don't use Lune right now. Really, cl is just yeah, she does a ship. Oh my gosh, she's so good. So right now I have only her in my party. Like, first, she'll go in solo because you can. You can remove people from your party, right, so there's pictos that you can find that boost all your stats if you're solo. Oh yeah, it's crazy. So I went and did like this fight club with. The if you die, you can send in the others after. Yeah, the other guys come in after you die. Right, So I send in cl solo and like an insane amount of damage that I do. I have to be able to parry and dodge the attacks or yeah, obviously right, but I've got three pictos plus a couple others that are leveled already that give me bonuses for playing for a fighting solo. It's crazy. I have a pictose on Verso that starts his starts or no, it's a it's a weapon. Actually, oh yeah. The weapons too. I have a weapon that enters battle whoever's equipped it. It puts your health at fifty percent at the beginning. Of battles because he does damage. He does a damage. He's got a skill that does damage based on how much health he's missing. So if you can dodge or whatever, even if you don't dodge at fifty percent, it does a shit ton of damage. Like, and it's only costs like two or three aps, so you can do it right away. So you can one shot any enemy pretty much right off the bat with his first attack. And then if you use another attack, he has another attack that costs thirty percent of his health to do and it does so much damage. Yes, yeah, yeah, that marks them right yeah. And then so if you can survive to your next shot and you don't heal yourself the other attack again you do and it does even more damage because you're only at like twenty percent out or something. Yeah. What he does so much. What's hard about him is getting his his perfection up what's it called? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh man. Because it's like you can't get hit or like resets. It goes down one if you get hit, like I barely. Get to s rank like I think I've got to ask rank like maybe three times. It's fucking hard. It's fucking hard. So I'm trying to find a way where. You don't really need to. Like, he just does so much damage anyway. I wonder if he's shielded if that counts as damage. It does. I don't think it counts as damage. He's got a shield, yeah, and they and I miss like a dodge or a perry and one of the shields come off, but not his health. Very cool. I don't want to get into too much of the characters, uh, because it's pretty pretty early even for you. So well. I like the characters that they introduce. Some of the creatures are very funny. Can we say hands off to the French for making these characters look good? You know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying. Leave it to the French. Oh you're talking about look at men. Good, look at women. They even got a good. Look at monsters. Some of the monsters that you find. I haven't found any of those yet look good. Oh the way they move, oh sexy, Like. The gesturals, No, the brushead Brusheads. Those guys are hilarious. They're almost like ewoks or something. Yeah, And is it French they're speaking or like a weird, fucking weird French. No, I have no idea, it's like a. Sometimes they do throw in some like French said English. Yeah, it's very strange but funny. Yeah, the way they talk is funny. And the way that big Marshmallow dude talks is funny. Oh, he sounds like he sounds like Buddy from No Countries Marshmallow. He sounds like a Javier Boredom squeeze. Yeah, that guy, what's his name, Javier Boom Boredom Boredom. He sounds like him. And uh. Also, what's with the Gustaf looking like Robert Pattinson? Like, yes, it looks almost exactly like is. His face modeled off Robert Pattinson? And then they used Charlie Cox for the voice. Like what this is so weird. Because Luna, Luna or whatever, she looks very familiar to. Me the act like the model face. Yea face, but I can't see who they modeled the characters that I couldn't find it, but she looks very familiar to me. Maybe in my Dreams, but yeah, it is weird, but yes. He does look like Robert Pattens. He looks exactly like Robert Pattinson, Like what the fuck? So I just assumed it was him doing the voice too, And then I looked it up and it's like Charlie Cox, like Charlie Cox like the Daredevil. I was like, what the fuck? It was very strange, but yeah. I even showed Pam. I was like, who does that look like? She's like, oh, that's it's a Twilight boy. I'm like, yeah, you know it's not. You mean buddy from Hogwarts. Yeah, Cedric degree, Cedric degree. I suppose Cedric degree. Trump turnaments own the cold. So the the battling, especially the timing stuff, it makes this game. It makes me want to keep getting into battles. Yeah, you know, I just never do. I want to go and grind to get to a good enough level to fight something. Okay, so I'm near the end of the game. I was like, okay, I pretty much belined the story, like I didn't go do anything. So so I'm probably pretty under leveled right now. So I just googled those like what should my level be? Before fighting the last bus it's like, oh, be around level fifty fifty plus. I was like, fuck, I'm only level. Like thirty really, yeah, so I'm twenty two or something. Yeah, so I'll go around and like, I just go around and keep getting into fights because the battle system. Is so good. You know, I was only dodging before. Yeah, I wasn't really parrying because I was like, yeah, whatever, I'll just dodge because it gets because I had the perfect dodge, pictose whatever. So you get an AP if you do a perfect dodge. I didn't know that you just get an AP when you parry, no matter what. I didn't know that. I'm like, once I read that in the fucking tooltip, I was like, what the fuck? Why am I not parrying exactly? Yeah? Like the hell. You got to really get those peries down. Perry so that you can actually do your moves because they cost AP. So you you jack up your AP by parrying, and you do counter attacks, which do an insane amount of fucking damage. Oh, the counter tacks are so sweet. So it's like whenever you land. The damage with the counter attack, whenever you. Land a counter attack, is it all the time, No, it's only when it's like a du like a combo. When they do a combo to you. I think you have to parry three times ago road comes at you. They do it every. Few times you parry, Yeah, like a successful perry, you know what I mean, Like a streak, like a parry streak. I can't remember. So if if if I'm about to get hit and I parry that one hit and it's just one hit, I don't know if I do a. Counter no, so I think it's might be three in a row or something. So the next two times after the third parry, successful parry in a row. Yeah, Because whenever someone comes at you with a combo, like a three hit combo and you parry won two tho you get all three, then you do this massive counter attack. Yeah, so it might be like a streak like a parry streak. Yeah, I can't get a counter attack. But man, and the animations, so. Yeah, yeah, the counter attack animations are very cool, very fucking cool. It's a really good game. It's really good game so far, fantastic, so pleasantly surprised. When we first saw the trailer, I was like that that looks pretty sick. Yeah, well, I know it's not been on my radar for sure, Like as soon as we saw the I don't remember when it was, it was like probably when the fuck was it last year? Was it Summer Games Fest last year? Probably? Yeah, something that they had like a little. We're like, oh, that looks pretty cool, but yeah, and finally out. I think this this game really surrounds the battling system like it's crazy, which it should, because it's a turn based RPG, right, Like, you're gonna spend most of your time fucking grinding battling fighting. You're gonna want to love fighting, to want to keep playing this game. It does remind me of Avowed in that sense, because that's what I wanted to do in about because that was the best part of a Vowed was just like my dual pirate pistols and I would enter with the spells. I would couple cast a couple of spells first as my my opener, then get the pistols out, and it was the best. Part of the game, just fighting and right, so far. Like but this has more than then, it has more. Than the fighting, but the fighting is still the best part of this game. It's so good, there's and there's so much more to talk about with the fighting, Like, uh, what was I gonna say? Each character has their own like kind of currency, like fighting currency or way to spell our way to spend that ap you know what I mean. So see I will have her little card mechanic. Ma. Well each character has Each character is different, right, not less like h just attack attack attack, attack, Right. So what I liked about this game, That's what I liked about this game versus Refantasio is this one's this game is just so much better. Like it's fast, it's like faster, you know, the story moves along quicker. There's not as much dialogue. Yeah, there's not a lot of dialogue. There's not a lot of dialogue. Like they get to the point they tell you what's happening. There's a few sentences, you know, and I'm back into the action or I'm back out onto the world map. It's not like I'm literally there for ten minutes reading fucking dialogue between characters like shoot me now. But I guess you do have that with the journals if you find all the journals. Yeah, their voice acted at least yeah after a reading. Yeah. Yeah, And they're not long at all, like the longest journal entries maybe, like, I don't know, thirty seconds of listening to someone talk. And what's nice about the journal entries is you're trying to find out what the hell is going on, So you're gonna listen to every single journal that you find because you're like, does that is going to answer any of my questions that I have for this what the hell is going on in this world? Yeah? And there's lots of journals. I'm hoping that it ties some knots together and tie some things together. Yeah. But yeah, the battle system and this is just top notch, Like it's crazy good, crazy, crazy good. The game so far as crazy good. The next thing I want to talk about is the music is also incredible. Yeah. The title track, Oh my god, the title track is so good. I don't know what kind of like what would you call that opera? Yeah, some kind of strange opera. But it's like, yeah, again, reminds me of Liz of p very Liz of p Esque, very nice. There's a few spots I think it was a glitch. It had may may have been a glitch where I entered a battle and it was the weirdest music like pop, like bubbly French like uh European. I was like, what is it? Why? Why is it bad? Because it never happened again. Like I entered a battle with a monster and it was like this weird like happy, bubbly French like accordion, like you know, I'm going to buy like a baguette at the market, but I'm fighting a monster. Like. I found that so very strange and I don't think it's happened since so I don't know if it was a glitch because it didn't fit the scene. It didn't fit like a battle music. And even Alan was like, what the hell is going on? It's like it's like super happy. I was like, what the stop is going on? When I enter a battle? That was one of my gripes. I was like, very strange to put that kind of battle SYSM because when I enter a battle, I want to be pumped up to fight, okay, and it's got to keep that fight going, not pumped up to eat a baguette. Well, I get pumped up for that too. I'm getting kind of hungry right now actually. Oh just thinking about French bagets and crossongs. But like after that, the tracks kept hitting it bomb so good I had I actually put my headphones on for this game because I wanted to listen to the music so much. Really, Yes, the music is fantastic in this game. This game was actually coming from a smaller studio that comprised of x Ubisoft developers. Yeah, I heard that, and they have crafted something amazing here. It's so good. I mean, I'm not only ten hours in, so I just finished Act one maybe like an hour ago, so i'm. And it just opened even more like questions. I'm on my way. I'm on my way to try to find the the paintress. I guess the paintress. We got to stop the paintress. Who is she? I don't know who is she exactly? Who is this paintress in the family that's stuck? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't know. Again, can't get too far in because we don't want to spoil anything. Yeah, check it out if you're not playing anything, or if you're looking something to play, going on a little adventure. This is not that long. Even the game pass said or the how to beat said on like twenty six hours or something for main story. Okay, that's pretty good. Yeah, sixty for everything. That's about what I did in avowed it took me about twenty twenty three, even twenty four. Perfect sub thirty hours is my name. Yeah, I like a sub thirty hour you know, a sub thirty hour game I. Canuld have done in a month with my schedule. Because even Alma was like, oh, I was like, oh, do you want to watch anything tonight? She's like, yeah, I want to watch you play thirty three. It was like sweet, sweet, sweet. But I'm closing in on the end, and so far it is for sure one of my favorite turn based RPG's of all time. So far, I can't wait to see what the end has in store. And I'm hoping it doesn't fall flat. Yeah, I'm really hoping it doesn't fall flat. I can't wait. I'm hoping it ties all the rest of my questions up in a nice little bow. You know. So I know, app Yes, I know, Rob has a I know did he sell it. His aces as wrong? Okay? So I'm gonna go on based on the fact maybe that he still has this ally Rock because I have the Lesion Go which is. The same, but he wants to stream it to his TV. Yes, game Pass games? Yes, okay, Okay, so I currently use what's called Moonlight Artemis Apollo combination. I used to have Moonlight client with Sunshine server, but I have replaced the Sunshine server with Apollo. It's a new hollow Okay. The gist of it is head over to GitHub on your gaming PC, look up Apollo game Streaming app, download it, and install the server on your gaming PC. It's the same shit as Sunlight or Sunshine. Maybe he doesn't know what Sunshine is though. It's just a server that is running on your machine. Which is based on the old and not old but the Nvidia technology of the game stream. So they use the same on get video game Streaming okay. Yeah, which Nvidia has canceled no longer support. So then the community built their own version of this game stream which is called Sunshine. The server is called Sunshine which runs on your PC, and the client is called Moonlight, which connects to your server to play your games. On a different device, but has to be a supportive device that you can install the Moonlight app on. Yeah. Yeah, So what I do is I use the Moonlight app sideloaded through the Microsoft Store on my Xbox Series S, so you can browse open your browser on Xbox. Go over to the Windows Store and download Moonlight app just like the. App Windows x Store website. Yeah, so you have to go into your web browser on Xbox on Xbox and go to the Windows Store in the browser, yeah, and down. Load and then download the Moonlight app, the Moonlight app, and it'll install on your Xbox. So that's how That's how I currently use it, okay, but since he doesn't have an Xbox, I don't think he'll. Let's say he uses his ally Go, his ally Go, his Asis ally. What you want to do is download Moonlight on your ally and then install Apollo on your gaming PC and hook up again. I have a little docking station for my Legion Go which connects to my TV with HDMI, so that's how I do it as well, so I can play Legion Go games on my TV. But this would be the same thing. Uh. The biggest thing here, The reason why I moved from Apollo from Sunshine, okay, was because when shun Sunshine, you had to have a monitor on to play the game. Oh yeah, which is absolutely idiotic. Yeah, that's kind of. Okay, And I have an o led screen which I don't want to leave on all the time. So when I heard about this, Apollo Server, the guy who he worked on Sunshine, but he left Sunshine to make his own app because he had this idea for virtual displays. Okay, With Apollo game Server, it creates a virtual display with each device you connect with, and then it matches the display for that device with the game server, so the game will automatically change to the display resolution of the device you're connecting with. Okay, it'll make a little virtual display so you don't have to have your monitors on. It'll create a virtual display for that device when it connects, So anytime you connect with that device, it opens up the virtual display and spits at you the correct resolution to your device and the refresh rate for that device. With the Xbox, I connect the Xbox with my four K TV at sixty hertz. When I make the virtual display, it's a four K virtual display with sixty herds. Just that alone has made the game streaming way smoother and better because I think before Sunshine, you had to like go in and tweak shit, and it was actually using the the display resolution of your monitor because your monitors on right, So like. See, I just bought a new computer and built a new computer. Yeah, yeah, Instead I spent thousands of dollars. I didn't like game streaming. I'm not a fan of game streaming. I don't like this is laten. This is I'm telling you right now, Even with Obscure thirty three, whenever I have to do the timing stuff and I'm getting them, I'm getting them. So I'm not having any issue there with the latency it's got. It's the latency is very miniscule. It has to be for me to hit those Perris and those Dodges. Do they have it on uh? Oh they have it on Apple TV the app. Oh really, I'm pretty sure, right, But it was laggy for me. So I don't know if it's just the Apple TV. Could be Wi Fi as well. It's not on my Fi. I'm hardwired. Oh so I don't know if it's just the app on Apple TV for some reason is introducing some kind of lag and that you're not experiencing because you're not using that platform. Yeah, but like I, I didn't like it. Yeah, So back to the ally Rock getting Moonlight on there, even in handheld mode, even in handheld mode, streaming to my PC's fantastic Opra WiFi over my five gig hurts Wi Fi excellent, and it looks great because it brings all that graphics and everything remotely to your little screen. Oh, it looks awesome. It looks awesome to your little screen, little screen. So that's how I do to play it natively obviously on the h because or on Legion, because even if. I put the leads go down to eight hundred P to save battery, it still streams. Uh, it'll stream the game on the native resolution of the of the Lesion go. But that's what I do. I kind of went away from the Steam streaming because I found that with shit. Yeah, I didn't like it at all. I always got disconnected, always stuttering and getting that like slow connection even though I'm hard wired. Is that like Steam to Steam? Is that what it is? Extreme? You go in your library and you click like stream from other PC, stream from another PC. Ok, I can't do that on I can't do that on Xbox, so I don't use it. And then once I found this combination blows Steam stream out of the water. You might have to do a little fiddling, but you can find online. There's about one thousand YouTube videos on how to like tweak your Apollo server. But even the default stuff is really really good. So how do you launch the game with Apollo? So Apollo you go. You'll have to go into your server and then it'll. So the game directory on the server. Yeah, it's call on the server. It'll ask to add application. It's called applications. So you add application, point it to the see of the game you want to play or the launcher or the launcher and then you can launch it that way or what I. Do when when you add that, everything you add to the server list, every x EX you add will show up on your clients like a little launcher as a game. Yeah, so you will just see you don't have to do anything on the client side. You just have to add the game to the to the list on your server. So the game because then when you get towards the ex. Yeah, because when you connect to the server with Moonlight, it'll just bring all that down and you click on the one you want. But how I do it? Since I played game Pass games and he he specifically said game Pass games remotely? Is I do remote desktop application on the Apollo. Server, right, So you have to point it towards what then Windows Explore dot Ex like what is it? No, the the r DP ex which is like, oh, whatever the fuck. It's called, Well, he wants to know, he's got to know what is it, but you got to point it towards. I think it just comes with the built in I didn't have to add the remote desktop app with Apolo. It might just be like there, you go right on the app and it says, you know, stream desktop. Yeah. I think that's because before in Sunshine you had to add the remote desktop ex. Apolo it's like built in. So just starting that allows you to remote into your desktop because you can't add game pass games exs because they don't exist. Right, you can't get into the fucking folders. Right, So your remote desktop into your actual desktop and then play the games that way using the little joystick as a mouse. You click on your game and it launches and it plays flawlessly. It's beautiful. It's fantastic with Apolo and the virtual screens no longer am I in bad I was like, oh, I'm gonna remote play my desktop and my monitors aren't on. Yeah, I have to get up turn my monitors. On, and like steam Link was horrible too, because you have to put in like a code I'm all the way downstairs in the basement and I'm like, okay, I want to stream a game, and then it says, enter this code on your PC that you want to stream from, Like, uh. You have to do that once? Yeah, but like resets I think once in a while, and I'm just like, I never knew if it was going to ask me, and when it did, I was just like, for. Fox sake, I always had issues with the stream connection. Yes, the Steam steamlink is not great. HARDI great the quality you can yeah, it's great. So I would look into getting Moonlight on your ally rock there you go, and Apollo on your gaming PC. Make the two connect and pretty much the default settings are are great, and then. You can can tweak them. You can tweak them if you want to get into that. And then also whenever you're in the game, say you've launched the game at your virtual displays like native resolution, which is four K. Okay, let's say your TV's four K. You go in the game, put the game down to two K resolution and it still upscales it to that four K native resolution of the virtual display and then shows on your four K television, which is great. I can do that too, because I tweaked them for AMD cards, because the Nvidia ones are obviously a little bit better since it's built on the old Nvidia GameStream stuff, so there's more encoders for the Nvidia, so it'll probably run a little bit better on Nvidia. But there are some good options for AMD which I have tweaked, and it runs a great that's it. There you go, There you go, rob. Yeah, oh, I was a bit over all over the place. But it's a bit have a finicky thing. It's a it's a PC gamer thing to do, you know, like if you're if you're gaming on PC and you're like twiddling with ship modding. This is nothing. This is absolutely nothing. This is streaming. Yeah, it's just a software that the fact that I launch. The fact that I can play it on the Xbox is awesome. That's so sweet. I can stream it to the Xbox so good. That is pretty cool, very cool. But it runs better on my Legion Go. The Moonlight app on the Legion Go runs better. Yeah, so, because it's a serious ass. I don't so I don't. I'll jump to and from right like if I have mobile mode, I'll stream from my PC mobile on the Legion. Go. Yeah A very cool? Love it nice? There you go.
