[00:00:00] Gaming Podcast. Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of The Elder Trolls Gaming Podcast. If you're new and joining us here, we are three brothers who get together and we talk about gaming. We talk about tech, we talk TV, we talk lots of nerdy, cool, geeky stuff too.

[00:00:27] And I am Take it easy, John, and we have this leasiest sleaze of the seven seas. And off the wise, stand off the wise, the pirate legend and then the nastiest person that I know. Nasty neat. Nasty neat.

[00:00:44] Now, before we get going, I just want to say you, you there. Yes, you. You're watching on YouTube. Now I know you guys are watching these videos so just click the like button, like take 10 milliseconds from your life and just click on the like button.

[00:01:02] Come on, it'll help us out. I know people are watching the videos. I see the views, I see the views just like the video, just like the video. Just tap it, just tap it. Give it a little tap tap tap tap tap. Tap a roux.

[00:01:17] Anyway, today we will be discussing what we've been playing. We'll touch on some gaming news and then we're going to talk a bit about the game awards and speak about 2022 in review as a whole for us in gaming our first year of podcasting because it's a good cool.

[00:01:34] Yeah, because today is actually our season finale. Is it not the season finale? The 26th episode two weeks per episode one year 26 episodes. Yes, that makes sense. So how are you guys doing? How are you guys doing? Are you getting in the Christmas vibes? Fucking December.

[00:01:53] You know what I'm saying? I love go tell me. I go ahead. Tell me. Wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Get a little ribbed there. I was, as you guys know, I was going to wear a Santa hat but they're way too hot.

[00:02:09] Okay, I don't know who thought of those things. Who thought it was a good idea. I genuinely wanted to believe it was Mrs. Quas. I think this Santa. I'm just curious. If they come from an actual like head garment from the northern countries or something,

[00:02:28] like I must, I wonder if it's like a Russian thing or we should look it up and catch it. I know. How do you know? If you did you watch the movie, Clouse or Clouse, I think it's called.

[00:02:39] I'm just going to be based on fiction or real shit. Did you watch this? Did you watch this fairy tale movie? It was a cartoon. Fake movie? No, I didn't see Clouse. I don't think it's made of that kind of shit up there. No.

[00:02:56] Oh, but it's definitely meant to keep you warm. That's all I can say. You need to friggin' stay warm, alternating winter makes sense. What are your hats? What I don't understand is the shape. What's the meaning of the shape of the Santa hat?

[00:03:11] You don't even mean what they do? Did they stuff things in there? It's a witch hat. Like a witch? He was so magical witch. I think maybe. Anyway, so I was wearing it before we started recording and I'm sweating now. I couldn't find one.

[00:03:27] I think if I found this, it's a Star Wars. It's a Star Wars. Like a little sweater you got there. You want to show it to your sweater? Legend of Zelda. Dant. Dant. Dant. Yeah. Well, yeah. A little bit of mine too. See this one?

[00:03:51] This was given to... I mean, that thing. But our late, very, yeah. He used to wear this hat when he'd snow blow and shovel the driveway. And the freezing cold winters of Canada. Good. It was hilarious.

[00:04:08] And none actually put a new pom-pom on it because the other one... Oh yeah, I didn't know that. Oh yeah, that fell off a long time ago. It was like two or three strings for one. Yeah, it was just like a one-hit single string. That's funny.

[00:04:24] Well, let's get it. Let's get it all in here. Let's get over to Game Time. You know what I'm saying? The final nasty Nate. What have you been playing lately? Pokemon. Lots and lots of Pokemon. I think I'm at 80 hours now. Wow. Yeah, 80 hours.

[00:04:50] Jonathan's probably a clips that... But yeah, I never... I never... I never play a game for 80 hours. The last game I played for 80 hours was Elden Ring. And it won Game of the Year, okay? So put that in perspective of how much I like this game. Pokemonsters.

[00:05:12] You guys are Pokemonsters? Oh, but... Is that it? But yeah, I'm saying I've been playing it as well. But it's not perfect, right? The performance, absolute shit. Piss poor performance. The online grouping and the connection from online play is just bad. It's like every other moment.

[00:05:31] Nintendo online game, right? But for the most part, it's very good. I like it a lot to have put this many hours into it and not put it down for too long, you know? Yeah. I mean, I've got 100 hours in, and I think... Yeah. Like what a game.

[00:05:51] Like other than obviously the 10 FPS if you can look... Pass the 10 frames per second? What a game. What a great game. Bad. Maybe when you turn your camera into a town, it's like... Or when you go on the water. Or when you're in grass or trees. Or anywhere.

[00:06:09] Or when the screen is on and the game is running. It's really good. But I couldn't have been better. Yeah. I mean, you think it's because there's like the Pokemon are out in the world and they're all responding and it's like responding to the slowing it down.

[00:06:23] I don't know man, but like it's horrible. I don't think they do that thing with the Pokemon that they do with the NPCs where they like put them down to like... Yeah, it drains for a second order. Oh, do they? I didn't notice. Oh, yeah, they look...

[00:06:36] Oh, okay. For what the game is, right? It's not... It's made for kids. It's a... Fucking kid game. Marketing to children. But adults can play it too, right? So I'm having a blast playing it. It could have been better? Yeah, for sure.

[00:06:53] They could have spent more time on it, but we all know they couldn't because they'd have to push it out to meet all the demands of all the other Pokemon merchandise that's releasing and all that kind of stuff that thrillhouse was seeing.

[00:07:07] But overall, like I'm having a blast. It's fun. It's engaging me. It's... I keep coming back to it every morning. I pick it up for like four hours. It's insane. Every morning for... Every morning. I think they did a good job. Is it a 10 at a 10?

[00:07:25] Yeah, definitely not. Other than like all those stuff that we're talking about, networking the performance of the menus, the performance of the Pokemon box. Ruh. That's so bad. Like... I have 30 Pokemon boxes. Yeah.

[00:07:44] Like if you have all of them full, I mean, okay, I think I have like... Maybe half of them full. Or half of them with Pokemon in it. You have to like sit there and wait five seconds for the whole fucking thing to populate. Like come on.

[00:07:57] And there's no filtering. There's no sorting. There's no sorting. There's absolutely no excuses for this. It could've been such a fucking good game. Like it could've been such a good game. This could've been game of year. It feels lazy and it will obviously... It's so much as shit.

[00:08:17] Like... Which sucks so much because I have 100 hours in this game. And I'm like, yeah, I'm playing it. But like, I'm playing it despite all this shit. Because... Twenty-five hours of that is waiting for your boxes to load. Yeah. Or like waiting for connection online.

[00:08:31] Like a camp of leave, how bad the online is. And like... Yeah. The rate system is cool. Like fighting a raid boss. A Pokemon raid boss with other people. But for some reason, I don't think there's any regional matchmaking or anything.

[00:08:45] They'll put you with someone in fucking China who's probably a second and a half delay. So you're sitting there waiting. And the fucking boss attacks you three times before you can do one attack because of the delay, I think. I don't know. You're pressing like... I'm pressing action.

[00:09:03] spam action. And then it just interrupts me with the action of the boss. So then I have to wait another like five seconds for the menu to come up again. So I can choose my acts. Such a dog shit. So fucking shit. It sucks.

[00:09:19] Which sucks because that's the end game of the fucking... I can... Ah man. Really bad. And then it doesn't help that people don't know how to fucking play the game. Yeah, that's matching in 6 star raids. Like don't get me started on that. Wasted my time.

[00:09:33] The game is already wasting my time. And then you got people wasted my time. Too much time and my time. But like many hands of my time. That's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking, I'll do some of the raids. You know?

[00:09:46] I can already feel myself starting to slow down on it. I'm honestly thinking about... Yeah. Why am I playing this? Why? What's it like? Yep. If the online is this bad, I'm not going to play fighting against people online.

[00:09:58] I'm not going to continue to do this dog shit online raiding. Yeah. I'm just going to fill my pocket X. Fill my pocket X and... I guess that'll be it for me on this one. But yeah, overall I've enjoyed the time that I've spent in it. Hmm. Yes.

[00:10:21] I'm probably going to be doing the same thing. I'm not going to focus a lot on the whole... Especially after what you guys are saying. The whole online shit. Ultimately, the funny thing is, is I think this is the most... I don't know if I said this.

[00:10:33] But by now, I think this is the most hours I've put in a Pokemon game. I think since playing... way back, playing Pokemon X on my 3DS XL and let's go Pikachu. Same. X, yeah. I played X for like 300 hours. Yeah. Yeah. I think I'm... 244 hours.

[00:10:54] And now I'm just going to... Because of that, I'm not even really care about the online. I just want to fill my pocket X up and... I'm like exploring do all the gyms because it'll probably be the first Pokemon where

[00:11:05] I do a lot of that more so than the others. So I'm not even really thinking about the online thing. I think I've got 15 hours in, but it's going to kind of be my weekend game because I was doing... I was doing a lot of like...

[00:11:16] Animal Crossing on the weekends. Sunday morning, Saturday morning, chill out with a coffee for, you know, a couple hours and just sit there. I think that'll be my Pokemon time. So we're probably getting a little bit more in. A little bit more. Just getting badges and polka decks.

[00:11:30] Those are the big ones for me. Hmm. Well, I wonder if it would be better if we got like a group of people to play... ...in the same region. I think so too. You can't filter out zones. There's no filtering of any kind in the entire game.

[00:11:48] You cannot filter your boxes. You can not search your boxes, but you can't filter sort of any kind. The sandwich menu, you can favorite sandwiches. There's 150 fucking sandwiches. You can favorite them, but can you sort by favorite? No. What is the point of having a favorite?

[00:12:09] You have to scroll through the list anyway. Like game freak, hello, hello, common sense. Do they have a director of common sense at game freak? Like can we hire this guy, please? Like get your shit together. Fucking Pokemon, billion dollar company. And you're putting out this shit.

[00:12:29] Fucking frustrating man. And that's frustrating. It's not going to change ever. No, I don't know. So stupid anyway. Let's fucking stop talking about these assholes. Yeah. I've been playing... I don't think I was able to mention it last podcast because we were talking about... Yeah. We're mentioned assholes.

[00:12:49] God of war, Ragnarok. I did beat it. I rolled credits upon it. I think I had 40 hours or so in it. What a game. Huh? What a great game. I also rolled those credits. What a story. What a fucking... Just a... Just a... A thrill ride, a ride.

[00:13:12] That you just want to... Hold on. And you just want to keep going. And I love Norse mythology and how they just tied everything in it. So cool. Nice. Your thoughts? Yeah, I've got to pick that back up. I was just gonna say, uh... That's on my list.

[00:13:33] Which I'll touch on later in the episode as we get to our kind of main, you know, retrospective. Okay. As I said as well, I rolled the credits and then I jumped into the Pokemon.

[00:13:47] I'm starting to come back into God of War because they just released the photo mode. So I was dabbling in the photo mode last night. And yeah. It's good. It's pretty good. Cyberpunk's photo mode is much better.

[00:14:04] There's a few things that bothered me in the God of War photo mode. Like the light on Cratos is waste. It's always blasting. No matter what I go. Did you just want to highlight his abs? It's perfect abs. It's close. Those... The washboard. Like... If I want...

[00:14:23] Oh, this will be a cool photo by this torch light or whatever. It's close to the torch light. And the light on his waist is blasting off the wall. And like shining space. Oh, is it because of what's his name? The head.

[00:14:37] No, there's a light on your waist. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, sorry. The other thing. What's it called? Is in their name for it? It fucks up all my lighting setups that I'm trying to do in the photo mode. You can't pose Cratos like you can in cyberpunk.

[00:14:54] You can't pose him to even just stand straight. Because he's always like hunched over like ready to flight. That's his pose, right? It's so fucking annoying. So like, pose him but you can... You can change his facial expression. Yeah, yeah.

[00:15:09] And so the way I get him to just stand straight is I slowly walk with the stick and then pause the game. And then go into the photo mode. And the photo mode is in the pause menu. So you have to pause the game at the right time.

[00:15:24] It's not great. But I was having fun last night. I put it onto quality mode, the graphics and the photos. Pretty sick. It's pretty nice. Pretty nice. All right. Dan, what about you? What just Pokemon? What have you been playing? Yeah, mostly Pokemon. See if he leaves.

[00:15:45] I've got a big. I've got a big. News update for see if these for my play through here. Okay. The mostly just see if they use Pokemon, cyberpunk, those are kind of the three because I'm still doing a lot of side jumps in the cyberpunk that I ignore

[00:16:05] basically the whole time. And there are so many more than I thought and they're all like they're on the world. So I just don't want to give that up yet. So I'm still just kind of going through them. It's it's amazing.

[00:16:16] But the see if these update get this, okay? The hordor of barnacleed, gold, commendation that I've been working toward for eight months. He's officially complete, okay? I've unlocked this commendation. So again, as a refresher for you guys and whoever is listening.

[00:16:41] That's 300 shipwreck chests traded in one at a time. Okay, so this as I've traded in 300 of these barnacleed little chests from shipwreck. So I unlocked the access to every silent barnacle item totaling 4.2 million in gold and change, 4.2 million in change.

[00:17:06] That's access to clothing, ship and to ship decor, weapons, and an equipment set. All one type, the silent barnacle set. This is what you unlaw in. Yeah, so it's like one of, it's one of the rarest sets in the game because it's a rare achievement. 0.1% of players.

[00:17:24] I've unlocked this. So 0.1% Yeah, but I did the math and now according to a Google search there's around 250,000 players. And I've got a lot of players engaging with the game in 2022, which works out to like 27,000 people who have this commendation unlocked.

[00:17:43] I was going to say there's not that many people playing suitteeps. I know, but still 27,000 it's like it's a lot, but it isn't in a weird way, I don't know. But anyway, it's a very rare set because not everyone's going and fucking collecting 300 chests traded. It's 250,000 people.

[00:18:02] Yeah, that's what I read recently. 0.1% 0.1 That's what point you want said. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so that's decimal zero. 0.1 That's 275 people they know out of 275. No, I think you got it. I might have numbers. It's 0.1% of 250,000. 0.1%. Okay, so to get 1%. It's times 0.01, so 0.1% is times 0.001. So 250,000 times 0.0011 is 275 people.

[00:18:47] Okay, so I did my math. I got a calculator out. That's very, I do my very, very certain that I am just saying that. 0.1% It's 11%. Yeah, it's over 10%. Oh, okay, right. 75 people then only 275 people. Well, that's even better. See if these have this achievement. That's crazy.

[00:19:17] Yeah, so it took me eight months. It was a long and arduous journey. But I got it done. The life of a pirate legend. Yeah, exactly. And I changed like my fucking clothes and I wore like, it's got barrenacles

[00:19:29] and it's all like weathered and stained and it's got barrenacles growing all over it. And I changed my air. I died my hair like white so I look older because it was like a chapter. I was like, I've officially, to me, I beat the game basically.

[00:19:41] Like there's lots of adventures coming out. It's still in story to do. Wow. But I became pirate legend. I got that freaking commendation. It was like that's that was it for me. But thank you very much. Wow. I was like 27,000 people. That's not impressive.

[00:19:57] I was like, I'm just like 27,000. I was like, at a 250 pounds gym. I'm a musician out of freaking mathematician. So anyway, yeah that was the big news. So it's, it's awesome because it's been sick.

[00:20:09] I bought the new about the Davy Jones ship skin from the Emporium because it was on sale for like a black Friday thing. And it's like perfect because it's all sunken shit. Like the sales are all seaweed all over them and they're just ragged and torn.

[00:20:22] And there's like a there's barnacles all over the canons and like shit growing on them and it's sweet. So I mean you should have been streaming this should be a streamer a sea of these streamer. Pirate legend. The intersleegiest sleaze of the seven seas captain James.

[00:20:38] Oh, no check this out. You can you can name your ships right after the captain see update. So I bought my galion for this Davy Jones kind of sunken ship set. And I called it Poseidon's death. That's it. But you're gonna say the side and see it.

[00:20:55] Poseidon's pussy. The long arm of Poseidon. Yeah, it's D. Nice. Well that's fuck cool. Congratulations. That's probably one of the rare. I think that's the rare achievement that any of us here have achieved. Well, there you go. I told you, I was committed.

[00:21:16] The other thing I was going to talk about just a little brief when I was playing cyberpunk. Okay, this is also pretty huge. It's a big deal. The first big cyberpunk glitch ever for me. Okay.

[00:21:27] After two years playing game on multiple consoles three different consoles over two different platforms. Okay. So I've had PlayStation 4 version Xbox version. Yes, we're pro. No, it just PlayStation version. PlayStation 4 played on PS5 Xbox version played on 1x and series x three different consoles two different versions.

[00:21:54] And it's like the biggest glitch I've ever had. So I was driving around. I got in the the muck the muck man. Muck the muck man. Yeah, yeah. Muck man car. That's my power that I have the fucking stable. Yeah. Damn those things are fast.

[00:22:10] So I was driving it around and I got in my car on the side of the street. And I just pull off a little bit. I turned the corner boom. The car goes under the map through the road. And I was like, whoa. And it's like under night.

[00:22:22] See. And like all you could see was like sand bank and shit because I guess it was like, You know, they built it on the aside the ocean side, right? So it's like there's a bunch of sand bank with like just fall throughs into some void.

[00:22:37] And it was like the trippy is shit ever. And it was so cool. Because I was just riding my car around under the city and like going over the sand bank ramps. And it reminded me of like kind of some sort of, you know that interstellar scene with

[00:22:50] like this kind of like time space loop where it's like it was fucking weird. But it's cool. And it was like the only biggest glitch I've ever had. And I think that's saying something based on how long I've been playing it.

[00:23:01] And how many versions I've played it all over different consoles. So it was crazy. It was crazy. It was clean cap it. No. Oh yeah, go on. My father. He didn't want to. He didn't want to. He didn't want proof that such a design bug is precious.

[00:23:19] Now I mean, I was okay admitting it. It's just that when you think about the ratio of it, it's nothing. All right. That's cool. Anything else drawn? Yeah, another thing we didn't get to talk about was star citizen. Oh God.

[00:23:35] I have to bring up my nose for another. Oh yeah. That's true. That was quickly. Yeah, go over really quick. Okay. So we didn't get to talk about this last episode, but I wanted to share my experience in Star Citizen.

[00:23:49] The crowdfunded game that has been in the works for 10 years. Okay. It was so bad. It was horrible. I thought it was. I thought it was so much better. Like it ran like absolute shit. I didn't get 60 FPS on it, not even like close. It was so laggy.

[00:24:11] Apparently even people with 30 90s don't even get 60 FPS. His glitchy cell confusing. No direction like you just spawn. When I started, I literally, the first thing was a glitch. Like I glitched into the world. Like is that out of your supposed to start?

[00:24:31] I don't know how you started in the game, but it just put me somewhere. And I was like inside this weird box and I was like, what the fuck is this? And I stepped off of it and I felt it my death.

[00:24:40] At the first thing that I did in the game. Like what that is funny? What is this man? The interface sad to hear that. Me too. It's very sad. This is a 10 years in development. This fucking thing. The interface horrible. So confusing hard to use. Not intuitive.

[00:24:58] The character creation. So lackluster. All you can really do is change the shape of your face. You can't change like your eyebrows style. You can't even give your guy facial hair, okay? You can't even give your guy facial hair. 10 years in development and a character creation screen.

[00:25:17] You can't have a beard. Okay. I don't know how many of these. We can just chalk off to it. Oh, it's still an elf. It's still an elf. 10 years. It will never be released. It will never be released. This is a joke. Half a billion dollars raised guys.

[00:25:34] Half a billion. Yeah. 500. There's some damning stats. Those are some damning stats. This is 10 years and half a billion dollars. And I can't fucking. I can't wear a beard. Oh, my god. Anyway, that's what I had to say about that. The good things space is cool. There's spaceships.

[00:25:56] You can find them. If you could find your ship, if you can find your ship and how to get it and how to bring it from the port and get into it, you can fly it in space.

[00:26:08] That's cool, but good luck because it doesn't tell you how to fucking do that and it doesn't tell you literally anything. So what a shit show. What a shit show. Yikes. I as well played it when I came back from Mexico. It was beautiful.

[00:26:23] It's a beautiful looking game. Like I dropped in, but I didn't die instantly like you did. I dropped, I woke up in a bed in my apartment. Oh, so what? Some space on some space port. And. I didn't do it. No idea what you're talking about.

[00:26:43] Oh, because you can choose. That's weird. So I guess maybe the area that I started in is different. Oh, okay. And what happened for me was I wake up and it doesn't do anything. Nothing, right? Nothing. So I'm like, wait, I can tell you anything. Just walking around.

[00:27:03] And I find myself in the showroom for all the ships. And I like guys, it looked. It was breathtaking. It was actually breathtaking. Like the monstrous ships and you're just like, and the details, like the bolts and the lines is a rivets. Like I was in awe.

[00:27:23] I was in awe. I was like, now if they could just take the time or I don't know. Like do that. But with the game. It's too big. Big. Bit awesome. Too big. It's way too fucking big. It just looks so good.

[00:27:40] Now if there was a, like a metaverse or a VR for this, you know what I mean? That probably is like, well, like someone make this but like actually make it and finish it and release it. You know what I mean? Not this right.

[00:27:55] But like, oh my god. And then like the sound, the sound is really nice. Like the, like the PA systems, the doors, swooshing and opening and stuff. Did you hear anybody talking? In proximity? No. I think I did. I don't think it was an MPC.

[00:28:13] I was like running around in like my hospital clothes. And there was this other guy running around. Okay, I think this a person. And I run up to him. I look at him. I showed you guys the video of this and he had this stupid hair.

[00:28:26] And I was like, I'm like, I'm like, lab, I got to make it look at this guy. I don't know if you could hear me. And then he was like, hello. But that's not like he's definitely not an MPC. No, he's like, hello. I'm a man.

[00:28:39] Or he said, yeah, he's like, I'm a man. And then he glitched away. And he was like 30 feet away from me. I was like, what the fuck just happened? He's like, oh no, oh no, I'm a man. I was like, what is that?

[00:28:51] And I just was like, is there like, like, what's her name for us? Scooby Doo. The red wearing the red dress that Betty, no, what the hell's her name? Velma Velma. Fuck man, I was laughing. It was so stupid. Just built, he was glitched.

[00:29:06] Like, immediately like 40 feet away from me. And he was like, oh, I have to say. And to end, what all you gotta say about this is for a game that's been in development for 10 years. Get the starting areas, foot fleshed out at least.

[00:29:22] Especially if you want to invite people in for a free demo to possibly sell the game and make more money. Like, yeah, like figure out. Or like put some kind of tutorial thing for like a three hour tutorial thing. Like fucking do it. You bunch of fucking morons.

[00:29:38] No, what they did was on their website. They just link to content creators on YouTube who have like starter tutorials like 10 years, half a billion guys. I think it's as simple as the entire game just being too huge. And so they don't, like there,

[00:30:00] they're just people who are just getting overwhelmed with what they have to prioritize. And it's like, team of 400 people. Four hundred people. Four hundred people. And the money, the fucking money. The game though. That's probably what it is. Because they just like,

[00:30:16] look at like, you know, you know, it is. You guys have worked at companies and you know, you've got people, no, I've never worked at a company. You've got like supervisors and a chain of command and like, you know, it depends who's good at running water.

[00:30:29] And then I don't know. Tried out the Warhammer Dark Tide on Game Pass. Shit. Um, got formances bad. Hipster trash as a native would say. God, it's bad. Like it'd be cool. You know, if it was cross platform, but it's not. So that is that too.

[00:30:54] I'm running a 3080, 5900 to X, CPU and 32 gigs of RAM. And I can't even get like 60 FPS on 2K resolution. Get your shit together. So I uninstalled that. Um, I tried to out need for speed unbound the kind of like anime looking one. Oh yeah.

[00:31:14] Um, because it gives you a 10 hour trial with the EA or with the game pass ultimate. You get 10 hour trial. It's not anything special voice acting's bad. Story is boring. So I drove around smash some cops and uninstall that. That lasted about two hours.

[00:31:34] And I picked up Dark Souls Remastered for $25. For their little annual sale. Um, started that up. It's disgusting. Looks terrible. It's janky. I might not be able to get. I might not be able to play it because it's so gross.

[00:31:52] I would match a much rather just replay demon souls for PS5. But I'll probably dabble in the Dark Souls remastered, but I'll be won't be for low. Um, and that's it. Wow. So you are not satisfied with your fixes. It's unfortunate to hear.

[00:32:11] I want to show you the next four. This one guys. This is unfortunate news. I'm sorry that we had to. That we had to bring that to bring it down a little with that. Star Citizen talk about this. Okay. But. Why don't we, uh,

[00:32:27] It's a very critical episode. So far. Well, it's the end of 2022. Okay. Why don't we take a little break and head over to gaming news? Alright. Well, um, get some gaming news. Mostly just going to talk about the, the game of ours that happened.

[00:32:49] But, um, did you guys like me and nasty were, We're watching it live with the, yeah, You tuned in live right with the gaming duo, uh, on there on there YouTube. It was, it was hilarious. The chat was going off. It was funny.

[00:33:05] I watched it, uh, after the fact on YouTube, I watched highlight reels, uh, best trailer, uh, compilations as well as some accepted speeches. Yes. Oh, so you sat there for two hours watching Chris judge's speech. Yeah. Yeah. You went on man. He went on. The run.

[00:33:26] Yo, all night was going to. He was just going to come back on stage and start talking after. And every time got a war once something. Yeah, I'll drink Chris judge back out. Start talking to you feeling he wasn't going to be able to like live that down.

[00:33:40] Like there's no way nobody's saying nothing about his fucking speech. Wow. Yeah. Well, I got to say as well. There was some extra, I got a game. So I got more to say. But what, what did mean? Please, uh, not the, not to rip the guy because,

[00:33:57] like, I think this is the first time we've tuned into the game awards. I think. Yeah. So I don't know. Has he won anything before? I'm, I don't know that. That could be a factor. Yeah.

[00:34:09] That's what I was thinking maybe he's finally and he finally broke through for like, you know, and yeah, you know, that's awesome. And it's much deserved like he's unbelievable, right? What have your fucking speech ready? Like is it that hard? Yeah. Yeah. You could possibly win.

[00:34:28] You're probably going to win. Like have a fucking speech room. And nominees are supposed to have a stretch. Yeah. I turned off the show. I went to watch my stories and I came back to see if he was off the stage. And he was like, God, your stories.

[00:34:48] Oh, you're going to say he's still there when you come back. He was still there. Then I stayed and then I stayed for the rest of the show. But I think that that whole speech kind of set the pace for that.

[00:35:00] A word show like the word show was not great. It was pretty sleepy. They're not really like even the summer game fast. Like hiring a bunch of old geazers to like present. I'm going to say what did you think of Al Pacino? Al Pacino.

[00:35:15] Okay, I left for two minutes. And I came back and Al Pacino was on my screen. I was like, what am I? Am I still on the fucking game awards here? Like what am I doing? What am I? I'm having trouble reading the teleprompter. I am Al Pacino.

[00:35:31] I don't understand how you got. Why was he there anyway? That was just a guest. Just a guest thing. I think that's pretty big. Pretty big guests for the game awards. Venerable. Venerable. Venerable. Venerable. Venerable. Where am I? Watch my guest plan. Hey, my kids.

[00:35:56] What games stood out to you? I would say what did you take away? Just a takeaway from it. Yeah, so again, I watched a lot of the trailer, the kind of the trailer highlights and things that I am looking forward to

[00:36:16] from this real was, I mean, the thing is death stranding two. I got to play the first one, I guess, to know, you know, get the context for the second. But it looked cool, man. You know, it was cool seeing familiar faces like the Thanos favorite actress,

[00:36:29] Leah Seidou and Norman Reedus being part of like the video game world. Because I know he was in the first one. But it's, it was kind of cool because I was, I realized that I was watching.

[00:36:39] It's like, oh, that's cool because you know, you got these familiar faces. Yeah, actors branching out, it becoming part of our favorite games, and I'd like how Hideo is doing that now. That baby, they just flying around like yeah, that was crazy. It looks not so.

[00:36:56] Something this baby is like lodging around. And I have no context. I mean, I really don't know what the first one's about. I don't quite recall. I have no idea what is going on. I think the mystery may be what Paul I've heard of.

[00:37:07] Tell its cultural walking simulator. or FedEx, similarly. Yeah, yeah, like a postman, you're like delivering some sort of fetus, Norman fetus, Norman fetus. I also wrote down Armored Core 6. I totally forgot about the Armored Core franchise. I was like, whoa!

[00:37:26] I haven't heard that name and how long has it been? Yes, we have. We've always had kids. We've played the best two. The launch type of PS2 is a launch type of. The launch type of.com. I forgot entirely better. I like the idea of Max, you know?

[00:37:39] Maybe it'll be a good time to pick up neon Genesis, watch that alongside of it. You know what I'm saying? I don't know. Because I've never seen that either. It's a classic. They made it. From software. Allways make. I don't know. Armored Core. That was news to me.

[00:37:55] That was news to me too. Because that could be cool. They're branching out as well into something not so fantasy, based anymore. I also had do in awakening. I mean, that's fucking cool. A do an open world survival MMO. It said.

[00:38:15] I don't know if you guys saw the trailer for that, but it could potentially be very cool with all the craft being and stuff. I was doing. Yeah. That's all I had written down with those three. But a lot of the other ones like, you know,

[00:38:24] Final Fantasy is like, okay, how many fucking Final Fantasy are going to be all these other things? Sixteen. Sixteen. Actually. Cartoony. You know, there's extra more than that. Yeah, a lot of other ones that wasn't interested in the suicide squad.

[00:38:37] And those were the three big ones for me. I like the look of one that really caught my eye. That looked really cool. Was that replaced one? The, it was like a pixel fucking cyberpunk one. Hey. Yeah. It looks sick. Ooh.

[00:38:52] Maybe that wasn't part of the eye light. Three of that I watched. I might have to check that out there. Very light. It looked really cool. It was like, um, the music looked really nice and like the art style is cinematic.

[00:39:02] It was all, it was hard to tell that was pixel like, yeah, it was the kind of like kind of real. It kind of reminded me of how they did produce, but like way better. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The rest.

[00:39:17] There's one called a scars above that looked cool. It was like, it looked like a Tomb Raider in space almost. I don't think I remember that one. It was like early on. That looked pretty cool. Um, Yeah, blah, blah. Four obviously. Oh, right. Yes. Sorry.

[00:39:34] I probably like that. Oh, yeah. That's not used to double the sick. I was like, devil. Yeah. Yeah. The other one was way better. The one they showed at the Xbox. I'll play it fuck. Yeah.

[00:39:49] I was like, should I just preorder it now and get the bonuses since I'm going to buy it anyway? And the digital deluxe is 130 dollars. Yeah. You get the battle pass. You get how much is the battle pass worth. Usually shit, probably. You get early access. True.

[00:40:11] I don't think I'm a pan with the better. Yeah. No. I thought behemoth looked. Oh, yeah. Freak in sick. Right. And I was like, I was watching it was like, how is this looks amazing? And I was then I thought to myself, what happened to it?

[00:40:27] I thought it was a vow. Remember, vowed? Mm-hmm. And I was like, oh, is this finally some footage of a vow? And they're going to tell us when the hell it's going to be coming out? No. But it's a new one. And this one's to make it.

[00:40:39] It wasn't gameplay though. Yeah. I saw that now. It's a cinematic trailer. But like it showed like the first person him getting on the ground and all that kind of stuff. Yeah. I find that hard to believe it. Look. Some frames looked like gameplay. And it's PSVR2.

[00:40:56] Like, holy moly. Yeah. Might have to get one now. Like exclusively? Like you wouldn't be able to play it on like regular playstation. When does that come out again? Oh, look at it. Correct. What's that? Yes, dude. Oh, PSVR2, uh, the first quarter February 22nd.

[00:41:13] I thought I thought that was a February. Yeah, that's pretty early. Another game's. The ones you guys mentioned. There's a couple cool comments. I mean, nothing other guy screamed out like that. Yeah, nothing. Maybe jump out of my chest or jump out of my seat. Hmm.

[00:41:28] There was a pretty cool crash band who had like a rena kind of game. That looked pretty. That could be fun with friends, but other than that like. They didn't even show anything from Hogwarts Legacy. Did they? No. I don't think they've seen enough of that one.

[00:41:42] Let's come in out and like a month or two, no? Was there any star field coverage? Because I didn't see any. It was no Xbox stuff. Which brings me to another point. I think there was one Xbox thing or something.

[00:41:52] That just got me kind of like, if they're not going to show anything here. Are they going to be showing something at the beginning of next year? Like maybe another showcase. But they're their next year has to pop.

[00:42:05] Because Xbox, what did they come out with this year that was like big other than like, Well, having game paths. Yeah, no exclusives. You know, we know that. We know that much. Prices are going to go up. You know that. Yeah, but like they got to come out.

[00:42:21] Twenty twenty three's got to be a big year for Xbox or. Do you guys think that maybe Xbox has kind of. Let's give it up as kind of harsh to say, but let's just say it.

[00:42:32] Do you think they've given up on the exclusive train and they're just going to like, Well, our strength. They're obviously elsewhere like game paths and all this shit. And PS5 is just like, well, we're going to keep making exclusives because like they just have not put out.

[00:42:45] Exclusive like, you know, things like gears of war anymore. Like where are all those? Halo is old as shit. Why did it kind of come out with new exclusives? You know what I'm saying? Like a new story and new game and new franchise or something.

[00:43:00] It seems they're they're writing their coat tails like the got forts. They got, you know, yeah, gear's five gears six Halo games. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're basically they're the Hollywood of video seven forts of games. Why do you think they buying all these companies though?

[00:43:16] So they can have those exclusives. I don't think they're seeing them. Let me see them. Let me see them. Oh, they sort of. They ain't seen any yet. The big ones coming out the later half of 2023. Like we got a way to another year for star field. Right.

[00:43:33] So where's a vow true? I guess that is true. Starfield will be like the new newest biggest exclusives. They've come out within a long time. I have elder scrolls in that. Yeah. Scrolls six. Oh, that could be for another 10 years.

[00:43:48] Yeah, we're going to be like fucking 50 playing Elder Scrolls six. I don't know. That is game is great. They're in bad shape. The 2023's got to come out Bob and maybe they'll do like a secret. Secret drop. Yeah. We'll see. But can we talk about?

[00:44:07] I think his name is Matan. Martin. So the Bill Clinton kid mystery kid pretty much made the show. I hate I hate to say it because he stole the stage in the spotlight from the much deserved. Elder scrolls. Yeah, that was the saddest thing about it.

[00:44:29] But the show was a snore until that kid snuck on stage. Where did this kid come from? You can watch it. I really watched it. I rewatched it over and over again. I was going to see from the shadows to see how he got on stage. Right?

[00:44:42] So as they are getting up to come into the walk, the walk way to the stage, he popped up and started walking behind them and started pretending he was part of the entourage. You can see him waving at clearly seeing him just walking up a completely separate aisle.

[00:44:59] You're like, what the fuck? Like he walked out of his eye. And just came trailing up behind him. Wait, he was sitting in the crowd? Yeah, he was from the crowd. And there's I watched a video 25 seconds in.

[00:45:09] I don't remember the name of the video on YouTube, but you can just see him on the right side of the screen. He's just coming up a completely separate aisle just clapping, walking up behind them and they're coming in on the left.

[00:45:20] So he just totally just was like, I'm going to join him. And then he gets on the stage. He gets on the stage and he separates himself and wacepatently in the shadows. Yeah. And he's just sitting there and he's staring at the microphone, he's waiting for the time.

[00:45:34] He could jump in and steal the microphone. And me and the guys, because Jonathan, you had went to do something else at the time. And I miss gaming to all guys, Chazzy, Birdie, we're all watching. And we're just like, what was that kid?

[00:45:50] Like hanging out from behind the crowd. I was like, this isn't good. And the guys are done talking and accepting their speech, right? And he's like staring at the microphone from behind. And I was like, he's about to take that. Yeah.

[00:46:05] And then he says this is what he said. Quote. Okay. I think I found the quote. I'm going to understand. I'm a 10. I think I want to thank everybody and say that I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox Rabbi Bill Clinton.

[00:46:24] Thank you everybody. Holy fuck man. I thought he said, hey Martin, but maybe he did say I'm Martin. That's it. I thought because of like Martin. George R. Martin, right? Because he, oh, yeah with Keldy could be, but no, like later on info.

[00:46:44] He got arrested right after arrested Jeff Healey tweeted that. He said the individual who interrupted our game of the year moment has been arrested. Why did he need to do this? I hope it was worth it. Like that was really cool.

[00:46:57] Like man, you could have said something fucking cool out there who struggle with as we know. But yeah illness. Yeah, it was probably often. But it's funny. He just did behind everybody because he's still beside him. They've been like, who the fuck are you? Yeah.

[00:47:16] But he had to just kind of, you know, hang back so that no one would notice. But I think the biggest thing here is that it could have been a lot worse. It could have had a gun under that jacket.

[00:47:28] He could have shot me as knocking front of everyone with the pressure that these developers under these days with what happened in Montreal. The hostage situation, right? Remember that CDPR being ransom hacked. It's not out of the realm of possibility. So it could have been so much worse.

[00:47:45] And it would have been a complete and utter security fail if that had happened. And it already was because this get made it on fucking stage. And no one knew he was. No one was paying attention to him. So I could have been bad. It was very weird.

[00:48:00] Thanks very funny and some weird way, but it was bad. I wonder if the bill Clinton released a statement. Let's get a bill Clinton. Can we get a bill Clinton here? This is Bill Clinton. I'm waking up. Who the shit is. I'm waking up fighting. He's trending.

[00:48:15] He's like, yeah, he saw that. What the fuck was that? Oh, all right. Well, that was the game awards. What a night. So let's take a little break here and then we're going to head into our main topic. All right. We're back here.

[00:48:40] And we're going to start talking about our 2022 in gaming. We're going to share some of our favorite gaming moments, our favorite games. Maybe each give a personal game of the year.

[00:48:51] Maybe even just a game that we played this year, not even a game that came out this year. Really necessarily. But it was also our first year of the podcast, 26 episodes that we met as we mentioned earlier. We started in January.

[00:49:04] We've made it to December and we'll talk about anything we want to reflect on our first year. Anything that stands out. And that kind of thing. So why don't we do that first? We've come a long way.

[00:49:19] If you go back and watch our first episode of a stumbling through a recorded discord call, blabbering over each other. To where we are now. It's kind of cool to see. We've met some fun and and great people who share passions for gaming. And that is super cool.

[00:49:38] It is also allowed me to learn how to edit video, which I have something I've wanted to do for a long time. I'm back to like high school.

[00:49:46] I remember I always wanted to be like to edit videos and make cool videos going back to like my drama movie that we made in high school. Yeah, that's true.

[00:49:54] I freaking bought like a video card to edit this to capture the video and edit this movie on our computer. And I was so sweet and it's so cool to do. What are you guys got? I got a bit. I got a bit to say.

[00:50:08] So I just want to quote Jack Black. Okay. About his because before he got big, he was part of tenacious D right? He had a band. And they didn't think they were going to get very busy. He wasn't big. Yeah. So until high fidelity, right?

[00:50:32] And John Cusek who had listened to tenacious D was like, I got to get this guy in high fidelity. And that's how he broke into high fidelity. And then Jack Black's career started by just recording in music with his with his band tenacious D right?

[00:50:51] And he says, and it goes through his movie careers and all this stuff. And he gets to the pick of destiny where this was his and Kyle's project right there like life project.

[00:51:05] And he says, I think he's going to talk about tenacious D and what they did before. And kind of make a movie out of it. And he's like, this is our baby. This is this is it. And he says quote just because it doesn't get 100% on rotten tomatoes.

[00:51:21] Doesn't mean it's the end of your career right? And when zero people go see the movie because no one want to go see the things. The theater. People go see the movie if you love the work that's all that matters.

[00:51:34] It can still find an audience down the road and more opportunities will arise, right? And the same thing can be said about this adventure that we started that we're on now, you know?

[00:51:48] Like if we love doing this and we give it the energy we do every time down the road, it might get the views, it might get the listens. But until then you just got to enjoy the ride. I'm having fun with my bros. You got to show up.

[00:52:03] We've been doing this for 30 years together to be honest, right? And I'm grateful we got together to share what we do together with this community that we've found on the other side of the tracks. Yeah.

[00:52:21] And it's crazy because I didn't even think there was this world on the other side of the tracks, you know? Like friends we've made like Jonathan was talking about the laughs that we've had,

[00:52:32] the things that we've learned have been having such a blast and I just wanted to give a shout out to all the other potters that I've spent time listening to.

[00:52:41] And I love going on my dog walks and throwing on a potter too and getting my gamer brains stimulated at all times, you know? It's just an awesome community that we've found ourselves in.

[00:52:53] So consciously you absorb other people's creativity, the more that you immerse yourself into that world and it's inevitable, right? It's the same for every other craft like Daniel writing music inspirations when you're writing music when I'm taking photographs.

[00:53:15] But it's when you put your flavor on it, it changes it slightly in shines and a new light on it for others to see all the podcasts that I've listened to over the past year like seeing what this world is right?

[00:53:31] And I want to name them because people should know I think people should know of their influence big or small because it lights a little fire in the belly. And it could mean a lot to certain people that their work is being recognized and it is being enjoyed.

[00:53:49] So I want to thank the following podcasts for creating. We're just taking that step and putting themselves out there because even just a tiny bit they have become part of my life and I appreciate that.

[00:54:03] We got Kelvin and Rob from the gaming duo podcast. Great boys over there we got Nick and Will from the Friday night game cast.

[00:54:12] Amazing guys we've had them on the show hopefully in the future we get to do some more stuff together we got Sandra and Jen from Starter Quest. We got Nick Tendo and Dan Tando from what the Famicom. Two hilarious guys like split my gut laughing every time.

[00:54:31] We got through and live from between two gamers who I'll be popping on their show tomorrow actually so shout it to them. Feeling naive from gaming together podcast.

[00:54:42] I got Tyler and Kobe from Switch it up podcast Aaron and Tommy from Super Pod Sega we got Chris and Tom from one hour one decision. We got Eric from the unlockables pod.

[00:54:56] Phil from deleted saves Dave from tales of the backlog Alejandro from a random gamers corner we got Dylan and Dave from offshore game cast. Got Chazzy from side project podcast. We got Brian and Ryan from Listoff podcast. Got Kevin and Ethan from Project X Talk.

[00:55:19] They were one of the first ones I started listening to before I even got into the community so they're going strong. Couple of great guys there Andrew and Dylan from friendly neighborhood gamers Keith from main quest podcast.

[00:55:33] Bill and Alex from gaming and collecting podcast we got Bill from a gamer looks at 40 Chase Jimmy and Mushi from playcube game cast.

[00:55:44] So it's quite a lot. Oh crap. It's quite a lot shout out y'all shout out to all you guys thank you so much for creating everything that you've done so far.

[00:55:54] There are some new podcasts that are going to be joining that list in the next year so if I didn't call your name, you know, no hard feelings but. It's funny.

[00:56:08] Because I know I know what you mean because I was when I was doing when I traded in my final three and I was talking to Eric from unlockables on Instagram when I was trading in my final three chests for that combination.

[00:56:22] I was listening to unlockables and I told him I was like see now you are like imprinted on that memory because I was just chilling out.

[00:56:30] Fuck there's no music. I'm not playing with anyone. Just throw on some podcast and I'll listen to it now and he was just talking.

[00:56:37] We know it was a nice relax and just him talking about his memories is retro memories and him growing up gaming and all that stuff. And I was just like sailing around finding my chest and hanging in. So now he's like part of that memory.

[00:56:49] And so I think that's probably maybe some facet of what you mean there. You just they just become part of your every day because you've got a routine and you listen to them when you're doing that routine.

[00:56:59] And it is it's a nice little community because here I am talking about Eric about that and it's this whole other world that we kind of were introduced to especially on social media you're seeing.

[00:57:09] And it's like there's probably so many of us out there but there's this little tight knit circle of who your favorites are and who you get to know.

[00:57:16] And it's almost like becomes they just become your peers right people always told us that you know we should be doing something together. The three of us and here we are one year committed.

[00:57:28] Okay, I thought that was pretty cool and in the end I'm happy to be contributing my skills in the post production segment of the show.

[00:57:37] And it seems strange because I was thinking about this is what it was reflecting on. I was like it seems strange that I didn't even offer to the mix and master the audio from the beginning.

[00:57:46] And it took like an episode or two for me to be like, oh hey I can do that I can do that and I can do it well. Because I really wouldn't have it any other way now which is kind of funny.

[00:57:56] Let me listen to our podcasts through our episodes for quality assurance reasons. But it also let me catch like hilarious jokes that I would miss maybe during recording for whatever reason.

[00:58:08] You know so it's that's been of kind of a really fun fast it for me and you know the highlights have been we've had some great episodes okay because of various topics we dig into.

[00:58:20] But also the jokes we make you know how on it we are with jokes and just what comes to us how passionate we are. The episodes that jump out though tend to be the guest episodes and we've already had in 2022 we've had.

[00:58:33] PQ thrillhouse, Dege, FNG that's pretty good any year I didn't even like kind of thought back as like oh shit we've already had four collaboration episodes plus we also did. And we've already had a lot of fun and we've been doing that for a couple of days.

[00:58:50] So we've already put in some legwork in terms of the collaboration which is really cool and that's only going to really grow from here.

[00:58:58] You know but it's fun because we bring on people that we know when we love like friends and family or we bring on peers from the community like I said.

[00:59:06] For one common purpose just to talk about what we love and augment the conversation with others and their experiences so it's fresh and exciting.

[00:59:15] And the more the merrier and and I don't know I'm excited going forward so that's all I wanted to close out with for my thoughts on the podcast. Very cool. Very cool bunch of cool dudes in this community and ladies yeah. It's very fun.

[00:59:35] I listened to them on the dog walks as well. Hopefully we're one of us will be on gaming duo 100th episode I think also. I think he actually Kelvin actually messaged me and he says you could take two because I'm going to have to drop out. Okay.

[00:59:54] Okay we can both jump on there if you want. Wow. Excellent. You can do that by the way it's going to be great. Cool. Nice. See what happens in 2020. See what we can bring to the table and hopefully get some.

[01:00:12] Get some laughs get some get some good energy going energy energy feel in the flow positive energy right in the bowl. Yeah so let's what about gaming milestones for 2022 guys you have any. You have any gaming milestones.

[01:00:33] Dan told us about a giant on that he just achieved but oh yeah. Oh yeah I boy how about you nasty what do you got? I've beat more video games this year than ever in my entire life. Wow. We did it folks. Yep. We made it nasty.

[01:00:52] Actually finish the fucking game unbelievable. I wanted to take you guys through it but I've talked enough already. Do you want to go and Jonathan? Or does it guess I could go?

[01:01:03] I have now I went through all the games that I could remember playing and that I check like Steven I can actually quantify. I have played 31 games this year. Now that's for more than like an hour actually playing. I've completed world credits on nine of those games. Wow.

[01:01:27] Nine games yep. Games Platinum Zero because I don't do that. Games replayed or I'm still playing from before four. Okay. And in terms of a gaming milestone I mean I don't know. I don't have something as cool as Dan else. What point one one percent but I mean.

[01:01:49] 275 people. Yeah. I did make it to diamond four times in apex legends. That's pretty good I guess. Yeah that's pretty good. I mean that's an ongoing mind going. I didn't go any further than that because I like.

[01:02:02] I literally just tried to do that and then stop playing because it takes too much time and effort to do it further. But yeah but yeah 31 games isn't that cool. Wow. I tried to actually get like detailed stats and steam and I just couldn't find it.

[01:02:16] You can't I don't I can't like hours played or something? I don't know. I'm sure it's somewhere on the in the cloud but maybe you found it. Did you find this? Well I'll tell you all about it once my turn. Go I'm done. Oh so my 22 gaming retrospective.

[01:02:34] Here we go get the 4. Man, my car popcorn get the coffee ready put on another pot. Oh wait I didn't say my favorite game. Well you want to wait that to the end or do you want to. Okay. So how many games did I purchase in 2022?

[01:02:51] What if you look through your fucking receipts and George Custans and your wallet? Yes I did. I searched my emails. I think I had some hard candy in there. And my PayPal.

[01:03:02] I purchased this action this number will probably surprise you but it's I don't think it's as much as you think. I've purchased 37 games this year. Okay. That makes sense that checks out. 37 games across PS5 PC Nintendo but I haven't purchased an Xbox game in 2022 because of Game Pass.

[01:03:31] Right right which makes sense. Now how many did I play out of these 37 purchase games? Do you guys want to take a stab at that? I'm going to say 36. I played for at least an hour or two. I played 27 of 37 games I've purchased. That's still pretty good.

[01:04:01] You didn't play any other games from before like games you had to have played more than that because you played games that are older than 20. I'm just going by purchase games. Okay. I purchased these games in 2022. Okay. Now I did repurchase cyberpunk so that counts. So did I.

[01:04:19] Okay. So how many did I play? How many games did I play total? Now Game Pass skews this because there's so much in Game Pass right? So I found it out by you can go into Game Pass and see like your last latest play or something.

[01:04:37] It gives you a list. So I added that so it's 21 and 21 or 22 games on Game Pass alone. I played for like I tried right in Game Pass. And then I played 27 out of the ones on the purchase list and I played three mobile games. Now here we go.

[01:04:59] How many did I beat out of purchase games? Three. I'm going to say seven. Oh, close. I beat eight. Eight out of thirty seven games purchased. What's the percentage on that? Someone do the math. We're not good at that. No. So I beat Elden Ring. Demon Soles.

[01:05:27] Gran Turismo. God of War. Those run PS5. So those four on PS5 a total of 175 hours. On Nintendo, I beat Pokemon Arcus and Pokemon Violet, which is a total of 90 hours. I put at the time of writing this so now it's going to be more because of Violet.

[01:05:49] I beat guitar room man on easy and I'm trying to beat it on masters. Oh guitar man, I totally forgot about that. That's got to add to my list. Diablo immortal for mobile. I beat and spent 40 hours in that one. I have a little mortal.

[01:06:10] She's all on the shitter. No, it was mostly on the couch because I bought that. No, right. So the couch in the shitter. That's my little summary of 2022 and I'll save my favorite games that I played. Should I? Should I? Let me tell you what I beat then.

[01:06:29] I didn't include it. I have to listen. Okay. So I beat Ghost War Tokyo. Octopath Traveler. Straight. Katamari Dimashii. God of War 2018. God of War Regner. Mario Odyssey. Ninja Turtles. Shredder's revenge. I beat all of those things. But played many more.

[01:06:59] I don't have any hours or anything like that indicated here. Those are the games that I beat. Shredder's revenge. I beat the arcade for that with you. I didn't beat them. Yeah, story. Whatever though. I think it's the same thing isn't it? I don't know.

[01:07:16] But we need which case all of the potentially. I had that to my list. Yeah. So what? What were you going to add to this? Well, as you guys know, I mean, I'm not a huge.

[01:07:32] This is one of my challenges I have written down that the podcast kind of made me think about it. It's like just I'm a casual gamer. So I find it difficult to want. Not just to play but to want to play a plethora of games.

[01:07:45] Okay, that's I think that's a big difference for a few hours and have a superficial experience. Just to kind of keep up and in the know. Overdelving deep into them for hours and hours. Even if it means I only get to play a few a year.

[01:08:01] And I think that's kind of where I'm at right now. I mean, I would like to play more in 2023. That's one of my goals that maybe you guys won't play. So I can kind of fill that seat.

[01:08:11] Like I've played really what I've played this year is obviously cyberpunk. See if thieves Pokemon, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Trek Tiyomi. Yes, obviously shredders revenge was a new one too. That's kind of it though. I don't think I have that many more games.

[01:08:31] Oh, God of War obviously Ragnarok, which is on my list to play more of in 2023. So that's kind of like the little handful and obviously cyberpunk and see if thieves have had the, you know, the most hours in.

[01:08:44] But I actually beat cyberpunk, which is something I was holding off on. So that was another goal I had.

[01:08:48] It was like, well, I'm not going to beat it until I'm playing for a next gen version here because it gives me that incentive to play through a whole file. So I thought that's what I did because we got the new gen update in 2022.

[01:08:58] So I beat my game and I got my relatively again, Disconcerting ending. So maybe I'll play another one with another ending. But that was kind of it. So I'd rather just play a handful of games, but I do want to try a little bit more.

[01:09:12] Or just so I can kind of talk a little bit more about other stuff. But I'm happy having played those games because I feel more, you know,

[01:09:20] I got that eight month fucking commendation and I don't think I would have been able to do that if I wasn't playing that for that many hours because every time I played I did that. And and shit like that. So you had a goal though.

[01:09:34] You had a goal exactly. And I, and I wanted to play it. And I think that like because of these two games, It's been a great year for me gaming wise. And I think the big one is because the side of punk roller coaster ultimately like

[01:09:48] Reach its end, you know, and it's only up from here with new DLC on the way, which I watched from the game awards trailer. So that's going to be sick. We got a new familiar face in the trailer. But it'll just, it just Elba.

[01:10:02] It drew Salpa. Father of Jessica Alba. Really? Oh, thanks so. Oh, it's fell in there. I'm not really. No, no, but Elba and Elva. Oh, the game.

[01:10:22] Like it, the cyberpunk again finally became what I wanted it to be since spinning it up for the first time in a playstation five.

[01:10:29] And like that's a big one for me because when I look forward to a game, I look forward to a game and I live and I breathe that game. And that's the the seat cyberpunk filled.

[01:10:37] So with that new update, a new gen update in the crucial implementation of, you know, F.S.R. 2.1, which propelled it like a skyrocketed into the new gen theater. And so these really kind of stitch cyberpunk 277 into the mosaic of like my favorite games of all time.

[01:10:56] And that's a big thing because that's one of the hardest questions to answer when we're on these podcasts. What do your favorite games all time?

[01:11:03] Oh, and I got two new additions to my favorite games of all time this year just having played the two of them through and through.

[01:11:09] Yeah, see if thieves which I didn't really see coming and I didn't see that one because after, you know, obviously getting pirate legend, I'll let shit I beat it and it's like, oh my god, I understood the game after all this time.

[01:11:21] And I don't that was just those are the two big additions to my favorite games of all time. I'll just say that now because we also learned to appreciate I feel like developers a little bit more through especially through cyberpunk with its debacle.

[01:11:35] Just you know kind of thinking about that again, we learned patience we learned about, you know, for these big new games whether good or ill this is the way games are going and they're going to be, you know, patching things to make them what they can ultimately be in the end.

[01:11:49] That's a significant lesson to learn. I feel like because I didn't really see that coming before cyberpunk it was the catalyst, it was the illuminator of that problem.

[01:12:00] Rare has put so much more content into sea of thieves since it launched in 2018 so they worked hard to give us like seasons full different adventures with limited items that tell your story is a pirate.

[01:12:11] It's like all these things I experience while just playing the two games more than anything else and they've made me appreciate all, you know, more facets of everything throughout the years or throughout the year. I should say of 2022.

[01:12:28] I think that should have one and been nominated for best multiplayer game. Yeah, my vote for it. Oh, that's a measure. I had so much fun playing that like obviously Steve leaves takes the cake for online multiplayer, but like what one best multiplayer. What one again?

[01:13:02] Oh, I don't split two and three really. Not a lot of games impressed me that much for online shit because again I find it all kind of boring. You know, online shooters for certain shooters is okay.

[01:13:16] I put a sword in my hand or a bow and I'm laughing people's heads off and it's kind of got that it's just different.

[01:13:26] That's extremely fun. So obviously that gets honorable mentioned for me, but the games I do want to play. I'm going to say this right here and insert this right here for 2023.

[01:13:35] I don't know which I'll play first or whatever, but the ones that are on my list are God of War Ragnarok obviously I want to play more of that.

[01:13:43] Horizon series would be really cool because I feel like I'm kind of missing out and I just haven't really picked it up a plague tale as well.

[01:13:51] I do have battlefield 2042 written down because it's now in game pass as we know, so I want to try it for a full multiplayer experience. Yeah, so I want to just try it and see what it's, I'm not what's doing.

[01:14:02] Okay, and I'm looking forward to playing a story of seasons. A wonderful life in summer 2023 which will just be perfect the perfect summer game to play. So those are on my list for 2023.

[01:14:16] A 2023 list getting ahead of ourselves here. Interesting good plan. I think about the future man interesting interesting what's the word I'm looking for a spect. Retrospective on the developer side.

[01:14:34] Yeah, we are just in general thinking more about games over this year because we're creating content because we're doing this stuff. We're just diving deeper you know diving deeper than we ever have before. Okay, Dan you covered your favorite game of the year favorite games of the year.

[01:14:51] Nasty what did you have for the favorite game of the year was it a game from 2022 or was it a game that you played in 2022 that is from a previous era.

[01:15:02] It's tough going back to how it influences you right and how it inspires you how it gets your brain jump in and wanting to play it more.

[01:15:15] I think only there was only a couple that really made me keep going because of either the community or just how good the game was right so cyberpunk for sure.

[01:15:29] I played more this year like we'd only dabbled in it a little bit in 2021 like when it came out. I mean, I played it actually did play it more my second time. Yeah, exactly yeah like I played more of it.

[01:15:46] Yeah, that's what this year was for me because I played a lot more and I bought it on multiple consoles because it was just it was a technical marvel and I think with all the technology that it showed like all the ray tracing all the just how beautiful it was.

[01:16:04] And the tech side of my brain really clung onto that and I had to experience that. Technical aspect of it and I loved it. I loved it so much on an OLED yeah, oh that again just refreshed it right like it's insane.

[01:16:23] It's I think it's up there. I either one or two the second one I'd have to mention out of the eight that I beat. I would have to say demons souls from software.

[01:16:41] I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter I played it in 2022, but I didn't like I didn't think like I played Sekiro got my ass whipped and I was like I've never played one of these fucking games again right now. Never.

[01:16:55] And then I can't remember which I played first. Oh yeah, so then I looked it up and was like okay Elden rings coming out right you know I didn't have fun playing Sekiro I had zero minutes of fun playing Sekiro.

[01:17:10] Zero minutes of fun and I was like I don't know how people have fun with these games. I don't know why I'm not playing any of them. I don't play any of them. Hold on. I'm going to tell you why you should. No yes.

[01:17:22] And I was like okay well demon souls was the first one out of all of them that started at all right and I got a remaster on ps5 as I should I start with that or should I just jump into Elden ring.

[01:17:36] And I'm glad I started with demon souls because it was fantastic. It's a 10 out of 10 game okay they give you more story and demon souls than like all the other like I've played Dark Souls 3 for a little bit and I didn't know what the fuck I was doing.

[01:17:54] Elden ring you really have to get that story out of there like they give you a little bit but like the human souls I found like they give you a little bit of the story well the story is very small to begin with because it's not.

[01:18:07] And a massive game like Elden ring is it's more of a linear you go do your thing pound your way through the levels get it done right and it was so beautifully done it's so good you got to play it I re-picked it up.

[01:18:24] I bought it for good for keeps I bought it for keeps digitally because I wanted to own the game.

[01:18:33] I sold my physical copy so I could buy Elden ring I think it was yeah or I traded it straight up for Elden ring so I did and then I played Elden ring but.

[01:18:44] Demon souls I think has to be my my favorite game of 2022 and then cyberpunk is second because I've had I had already been. Into it in 2021 and then played more of it in 2022.

[01:18:59] But cyberpunk I'll always come back to because the photo mode is just too good because it's too good I lose hours hours in photo mode inside what cyberpunk the update came in 2022 the PS5.

[01:19:18] So it is technically a PS4 I don't only do a 22 game yeah for PS5 and I played it on the PS5 and it's fantastic on the PS5.

[01:19:25] Yeah I mean I would say it's better it's better on console for sure I mean if you if you have the the faculties I guess like the on OLED it's fucking unbelievable.

[01:19:37] Like you don't get that on PC they don't master it that way for PC they don't master HDR the same on PC even if you have a PC monitor that does HDR it's not the same.

[01:19:50] They master differently on consoles because that's part of the that's part of the experience on a console on a HD TV 4K HDR that's what they do.

[01:20:02] They don't do it on the PC that is a good incentive for for you know which platform to buy it on to play on it's interesting to say that because I you know a lot of people who play on PC or like well it's better on PC runs better build a lot but that's not something that a lot of people consider.

[01:20:16] They go like run better doesn't look better right yeah and even though you can crank the graphics up more on PC they're still a magic that's happening on the PS5 that I just like I'd rather play it here. And.

[01:20:33] Nick from FNG said he just bought cyberpunk Nick from sorry from front of the night gamecast just bought cyberpunk for PC. So I'm excited to see what he has to say about that if you ever get it.

[01:20:46] He's got an OLED though and a PS5 he should hook up his PC to the OLED and play the same. It's not mastered the same like I said like you said yeah okay wouldn't look the same. But yeah that's that's it for me like I'd say poker.

[01:21:05] But like there's just too much wrong with it to better to be better than cyberpunk and demon souls for me. I didn't put too many hours into God of war so. Right now.

[01:21:22] I'm sorry the cyberpunk the amount of time and stuff I put in this up is just to me it's. I'd rather play that to be honest. Yeah for me you know stuff yeah I might put in another 30 hours to God of war and be like oh man.

[01:21:40] But maybe yeah that's my favorite games of 2022. All right well for me I would say. Yeah I didn't even think about cyberpunk as well I did ahead on my list but.

[01:21:55] I forgot that it was like just coming out on PS5 so anyone who hadn't played it and had a PS5 and just got it would be a 2022. Game for them. Not that we're doing only 20 to 22 games but.

[01:22:08] I would say that yeah I played the most of cyberpunk Pokemon and God of War now. God of War I played the first one. Yeah and then the second one like right after like I was like one big game to me so that was really cool.

[01:22:28] So I think I'm just I have to go with that because. The first one was so good that I've been interested in two days I was like holy shit this is like.

[01:22:38] And then immediately after I finished it like the next one that was that day that it came out and I went got it and I started playing it that day. Yeah because we wanted to do it for the pod on the weekend.

[01:22:49] So it was like this what continuous thing like a single game that's been played in the game. Seven days straight like you really got to know Cratos. Yeah but they straighted God of War so I was sick and just the visual fidelity and that I was experiencing it.

[01:23:09] Is a milestone for 2022 also because of this my first like super high in TV. In my life that I got this year in 2022 is allowing me to experience this experience the the pinnacle of HDR gaming it's the pinnacle.

[01:23:32] The bleeding edge there's a price to pay for the bleeding edge and it's dollars okay it's fucking dollars. And you've always been even the proponent for the bleeding edge on this podcast all year if anybody's the bleeding edge runner it's Jonathan here he's been doing his own life.

[01:23:50] Yeah really. He's the one that gets the computers the high in back in the day he was the one that got the consoles he was the one that got the high in computers.

[01:23:59] You know and you know what you guys can have it to because my TV is now thousands of dollars cheaper. Thousands of dollars cheaper but that's the price I pay for being the edge runner. Yeah.

[01:24:19] Anyway boys that's that's all I had for the for my 2022 like I said God of War that's my that's my choice both in one and I'm going to keep playing. I think I think soon.

[01:24:36] Maybe try to do some some more side quests travel around do some cool things because I think I got some stuff that you maybe didn't get like some armor and stuff from the side. I went stuff like that. I went gold road 23 hours they beat the game.

[01:24:50] Okay, yeah, no I didn't do that I like sometimes I see something is like oh check this out. That kind of game. I experienced the crunch because I was leaving to Mexico. I had gamer crunch game crunch. I had to be a cereal. Yeah gamers captain.

[01:25:10] A gamer crunch. Yeah. So in short we've got cyberpunk for me Nathaniel let's go with demon souls for you number one and Jonathan God of War. God of War collective God of War like elected the Omni bus that's well rounded I like that.

[01:25:30] All right well um should we close up then. I think so we got anything else. Guys got anything else on this to end the year to end the year. I was going to say I was going to ask you guys a question but it was pretty loaded.

[01:25:47] Maybe we can ask the people that are listening. As if someone came and stole all your video games. But left you with one out of your entire collection to only be able to play for the next year kind of thinking in the end of the game.

[01:26:04] Like the the let's call the backlog machine that we were thinking about. Oh they hyper backlog chamber. If you were suck with only one game because everyone stole your video games. What game would that be from 2022 and that sort of is going to ask from 2022.

[01:26:25] But we already pretty much. Talk to apex legends count because there would be apex legends. Easy easy answer. I got to say that's a tough choice over oversea thieves or cyberpunk. I don't know which one I would choose it would be one of those two.

[01:26:43] I was trying to think of something different so that I could be like, well, because then I could just play that game and get to know that game. But I still got a lot to do in both of those so. I would say cyberpunk. I'm all the way.

[01:26:57] It's like a replay and play different builds and still play through the game get 10 different different endings guys. Life service game guys it changes seasons. Yeah, that's what you're doing. Apax legends easy nice. Did you have one? You didn't say oh no I don't have one.

[01:27:16] I would just give them all my video games. It's like just take the ball. Now they'd be like, fuck there's too many. Fuck this. You bought 37 fucking games this year. All right then. Well, that's going to be it for this week's episode.
