00:00:54 - Introducing ANTI-GOTY 2024

00:01:48 - Introducing the Guests

00:04:56 - First Award: Video Game Hottie of the Year

00:34:12 - Second Award: Nintendo Fan-Game Most Likely To Get You Sued By Nintendo

00:54:10 - Third Award: Tutorial Triumph

01:15:57 - Fourth Award: Most Mid-West Game

01:37:58 - Final Guest Question: Favourite Game Played of the Year

01:45:06 - Plugs and Outro

[00:00:32] This is Super Ghost's favorite time of the year. It's a time when we get to reflect on the games and memories, you know, but in our own way.

[00:00:43] We have brought together some lovely guests for you tonight, and they're pretty rad. I've hand-selected each of these guests myself, and they're gonna help us celebrate, and they're gonna help us the only way that we know how.

[00:00:59] And that is with...

[00:01:04] ANTI-GAME-O-THE-YEAR!

[00:01:11] Now, if you're new to Super Ghost, this award show is not really like the other Game of the Year shows.

[00:01:17] We invite guests on to make up their own categories. We each nominate something for each one, and then we debate or fight, you know, either or, what the winner's gonna be.

[00:01:27] So, I'm not gonna waste any more time. Let me introduce you to our flying roster of folks we wrangled up.

[00:01:35] So, first, first up, she's the all-seeing eye of Mr. FPGA. Well, the Discord anyways. And she's definitely a coding guru and a friend of the podcast.

[00:01:47] Jamie, also known as Katrinx on the internet. Hello!

[00:01:52] Hello!

[00:01:53] It is wonderful to see you again. It's wonderful to be here again.

[00:01:57] Same, same. Same, same. Even though the last time we talked, we were on Retro Rehab, RIP.

[00:02:03] That show is now merged. We put the fusion earrings on Retro Rehab and on Superpod Saga, and that's the same show now.

[00:02:12] But...

[00:02:13] Well, then it's wonderful to be speaking with you again.

[00:02:15] Awesome. I like that too. Same, same.

[00:02:19] Next up, podcast host and producer of Fun and Games Podcast, and I would say certified Bioware badass, and a good friend of mine as well, Matt Storm.

[00:02:32] Hey! I'm happy to be on Super Ghost Radio for the first time.

[00:02:36] Big fan of your work and happy to be here to argue for my favorite romance in a long time in video games.

[00:02:44] As...

[00:02:45] And other stuff.

[00:02:46] No, no guarantees. No guarantees. But, hey, if you put up the fight, you might win. You might win.

[00:02:52] I mean, there's always... There is always somebody that dies on a hill.

[00:02:56] And sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't.

[00:02:59] So, we'll see. We'll see what happens.

[00:03:02] On to our next guest.

[00:03:04] Master of shitposts.

[00:03:06] You already know who this is.

[00:03:09] N64 enthusiast, and my own worst enemy for bringing up things that I've said on other podcasts.

[00:03:14] Mike, or as he's better known on the internet, Quest64 official.

[00:03:18] Hi, Jerry. It's great to be here.

[00:03:20] I'm glad that my introduction keeps evolving.

[00:03:25] It does. It does keep evolving.

[00:03:27] So does our rivalry. I don't know if we're rivals. We're not rivals.

[00:03:32] You just call me out on all my shit.

[00:03:34] Yeah, I...

[00:03:35] Somebody's got to do it.

[00:03:37] I'm just keeping the podcast in check.

[00:03:40] Well, I mean...

[00:03:43] You called me out hard about that Wii U stuff.

[00:03:48] But...

[00:03:48] Oh, yeah.

[00:03:49] I'm...

[00:03:50] I'm gonna...

[00:03:51] I'm gonna write those wrongs.

[00:03:52] I swear to God.

[00:03:53] Tonight.

[00:03:55] And...

[00:03:57] Last, but not least, but certainly the most esoteric of the bunch, a man of many talents

[00:04:02] and rare arcade boards found under tarps, Anthony, or as you probably know him as Video Game Esoterica.

[00:04:10] You probably just could have gone with the least on that one, honestly.

[00:04:12] That would have made perfect sense.

[00:04:14] But...

[00:04:15] I'm back.

[00:04:15] Last time I was here, I thought I completely derailed the conversation in the best way.

[00:04:19] But you guys invited me back.

[00:04:20] So this time I'm gonna try to derail it and burn it down at the same time.

[00:04:25] Hell yeah.

[00:04:25] That's what we want.

[00:04:26] That's what we want.

[00:04:27] We want that pure chaotic energy.

[00:04:29] And I think I got the right team together.

[00:04:32] It's like...

[00:04:33] Basically like Avengers Assemble, but with like shit posts and like lots of other real crazy shit.

[00:04:40] But that is the formalities taken care of.

[00:04:44] Let's get fucking unprofessional.

[00:04:47] Shall we?

[00:04:49] Okay.

[00:04:50] So...

[00:04:51] First topic.

[00:04:53] Or...

[00:04:54] Actually, not topic.

[00:04:55] I'm used to saying topic just because we only do this once a year.

[00:04:58] But the first award that was presented to us by Matt themselves.

[00:05:07] Here we go.

[00:05:08] Matt, I'll let you take it away.

[00:05:11] So I figured since this is a thing about shit posting that my most shit postiest thing that I do online is thirst over video game characters unabashedly.

[00:05:22] Some of them not even human.

[00:05:24] You know, living the dream.

[00:05:26] And so my category submission for this anti game of the year award is video game hottie of the year.

[00:05:34] And that way we can all either seriously or unseriously fight for our thirstiest choices.

[00:05:43] Up first, my nomination is Lace Harding from Dragon Age the Veil Guard.

[00:05:50] My Dwarf in Romance from the recent Dragon Age game who I adore.

[00:05:55] I have very big heart eyes for.

[00:05:57] I said heart eyes, internet.

[00:05:59] Get your minds out of the gutter.

[00:06:02] Up next.

[00:06:03] Get your heart on.

[00:06:04] Right.

[00:06:05] Get your hearts on.

[00:06:08] Up next is Anthony's nomination.

[00:06:10] Astro Bot.

[00:06:13] To each their own.

[00:06:15] You know.

[00:06:16] For a very specific reason that you will not know until a minute.

[00:06:20] Okay.

[00:06:21] I can't wait to hear it.

[00:06:24] Jamie's nomination.

[00:06:25] Another one that I could agree with and go to bat for.

[00:06:29] Carlac from Baldur's Gate three.

[00:06:31] Though I didn't romance Carlac in my playthrough.

[00:06:34] I do agree that is she is definitely a hottie and in the most literal sense.

[00:06:39] So definitely worth fighting for.

[00:06:40] I can definitely appreciate a lady with a nice axe.

[00:06:45] Yeah.

[00:06:46] Yeah.

[00:06:47] Axe.

[00:06:48] There was an X in that word.

[00:06:49] Get your minds out of the goddamn gutter.

[00:06:51] I won't stand for it.

[00:06:52] This is a Christian.

[00:06:53] It's not a Christian show.

[00:06:55] God, no.

[00:06:56] Up next, we have Mike's nomination, which is Dr. Salvador from Resident Evil 4, which is a, you know, curious pick.

[00:07:06] But again, I am sure Mike will defend it in some form or fashion.

[00:07:15] And finally, Jerry's pick Alpha from UFO, UFO 50, which, you know, I haven't actually played UFO 50.

[00:07:26] So I can't wait to hear this one, Jerry.

[00:07:29] Yeah.

[00:07:30] It's.

[00:07:31] Yeah.

[00:07:34] So, I mean, right off the bat, I think we should probably go around the table and kind of dig into.

[00:07:43] First of all, Anthony, what the like Astro bot?

[00:07:46] What?

[00:07:47] Isn't he a little boy?

[00:07:49] I.

[00:07:49] Well, now you put me on the back foot on that one.

[00:07:53] So the way I thought about it is.

[00:07:56] Of all the games I played this year, I don't know how many actually had human beings in them.

[00:08:00] I've been playing arcade games and it was either Astro bot or one of the baseball dudes from Ninja Baseball Batman.

[00:08:06] But I started to think around the edges.

[00:08:08] He's just a robot with a battery and he can probably drive pipe for hours without even shutting down.

[00:08:14] I mean, he could just go and go and go.

[00:08:16] We're talking energizer bunny levels of just straight plowing all day long.

[00:08:23] Everyone else is going to tap out after five, 10 minutes.

[00:08:25] They're going to have a sandwich, need a cigarette, have a drink.

[00:08:28] But Astro bot can just.

[00:08:30] I mean, he's driving the home.

[00:08:32] That's I mean, that's my logic.

[00:08:37] I don't.

[00:08:38] I don't feel.

[00:08:39] I'm here.

[00:08:41] I won the nomination.

[00:08:42] I was most excited about.

[00:08:46] I mean, he's a little curvy.

[00:08:48] He's a you know, but I'm sure like underneath that, like actual outer shell that's protective, like he's probably just got like an eight pack, like straight up rip abs, like cum gutters down the whole.

[00:09:01] Sixty nine yards on that robot.

[00:09:03] Whoa, whoa.

[00:09:04] Christian podcast memory.

[00:09:06] I mean, you know who else had cum gutters?

[00:09:08] So I can leave now.

[00:09:11] It's fine.

[00:09:12] You put me up to it.

[00:09:14] I mean, yeah.

[00:09:17] Yeah, you invited me.

[00:09:18] I don't.

[00:09:19] And this is what no one ever sees when I do YouTube videos.

[00:09:22] They were going to watch this and be like, who in the hell is it that they're listening to?

[00:09:25] Because I don't get away with that one on YouTube as often.

[00:09:28] Plus Astro bot seems like it's really like cosplay too.

[00:09:30] Right.

[00:09:31] Isn't there like a billion costumes like with you know, different costumes.

[00:09:34] Yeah.

[00:09:34] The same thing.

[00:09:35] No, I mean, there's pools everywhere.

[00:09:38] Like it's just like a resort vacation.

[00:09:41] I want it when I nominated it.

[00:09:42] We're just doing this as a formality.

[00:09:46] There's virtues.

[00:09:47] There's virtues.

[00:09:48] There's virtues to boyfriends that run on batteries.

[00:09:50] I'll give you that.

[00:09:53] Yeah, my batteries ran out a long time ago.

[00:09:55] You know what I'm saying?

[00:09:57] I mean, you could probably like swap things out if you know what I'm saying.

[00:10:02] Like you could be like, oh, I could get a plow in from Astro bot or I could just be like, boop boop.

[00:10:08] And just like, hey, Astro bot, you want to switch that up for me?

[00:10:12] It's like a KitchenAid mixer.

[00:10:13] Every attachment, like multiple heads.

[00:10:16] I mean, you've got a meat grinder on there, for lack of a better term.

[00:10:19] You're good to go.

[00:10:20] Holy shit.

[00:10:20] You could make pasta and make love.

[00:10:24] You're selling this.

[00:10:25] You're selling this.

[00:10:26] Yeah.

[00:10:27] I have planned absolutely none of what I'm saying either.

[00:10:30] I hate the fact that I'm going to come away from this being like, you know what?

[00:10:33] I probably would fuck Astro bot.

[00:10:35] I mean, if you have to think about it, he's the only thing on those islands.

[00:10:39] I mean, if it's not him, then it's a coconut with a hole in it.

[00:10:43] Oh, my God.

[00:10:44] Well, that's a pretty strong case.

[00:10:47] I'm not even going to lie that it's a strong case.

[00:10:51] But OK, so here's the thing.

[00:10:53] I think the most like relevant one on here, though, Jamie, Carlack.

[00:10:59] Like Jesus, like.

[00:11:02] I mean, the way I figure my autistic self, not only does it satisfy beautiful woman, very hot, but on the other token, her entire theme is about overheating.

[00:11:14] She's very hot.

[00:11:15] She's that's her thing.

[00:11:16] She's got the infernal engine.

[00:11:17] It's like going to burn up.

[00:11:18] Right.

[00:11:18] So it's kind of both both tokens there.

[00:11:23] But yeah, I will say I kind of wish my husband looked a little bit more like her.

[00:11:28] So just like fuck until you spontaneous combust.

[00:11:35] You know, or get your husband into cosplay.

[00:11:37] Have him start dressing up as Carlack.

[00:11:39] That's always an option.

[00:11:41] I feel like most of the combustion is spontaneous.

[00:11:44] I don't think you can pull that one off.

[00:11:47] But yeah, I mean, who doesn't who doesn't like like a six foot muscular woman with an axe?

[00:11:52] I mean, I would climb her like a tree.

[00:11:54] I'm gonna be honest.

[00:11:57] I mean, I.

[00:11:57] So here's the thing, though.

[00:11:59] When I played Baldur's Gate three, I spent fucking hours upon hours just trying to get Shadowheart to even fucking look at me.

[00:12:09] So predictable.

[00:12:11] Like, I mean, yeah, but like, I like nothing.

[00:12:16] I think it like toward the end.

[00:12:17] She was like, I didn't even get I didn't get a kit.

[00:12:20] I got nothing.

[00:12:21] I got nothing.

[00:12:22] And like other people are like, yeah, man, I fucking I fucking banged her by the beach.

[00:12:27] It was good.

[00:12:27] And I was like, like, fucking can you show me a tutorial, please?

[00:12:31] Like, I don't know how to do any of this stuff.

[00:12:33] And then after I kind of was like, you know what?

[00:12:36] I'm like laying rose petals down for her.

[00:12:39] And toward the end of the game, I was just like, actually, I think I'm in love with Karla.

[00:12:45] So I kind of I kind of switched to like mid game.

[00:12:49] But Shadowheart, she's just never not warm enough.

[00:12:52] Right.

[00:12:53] It's gotta be.

[00:12:54] Even even after the hair change, it was like, oh, are you are you nice now?

[00:13:00] No, she was not.

[00:13:02] She was not nice.

[00:13:04] I went way outside the box and went for Lysel because I like to be to me.

[00:13:09] Yeah, I'm the guys.

[00:13:11] None of the guys in that game.

[00:13:13] Like they're all kind of weenies.

[00:13:14] I didn't like any of those guys.

[00:13:16] Nope.

[00:13:17] Yeah.

[00:13:18] You got whiny will you got.

[00:13:22] I didn't mind the magician.

[00:13:24] He was like, he was down to fuck to like he's down to fuck everything and everyone.

[00:13:31] And there was a part of me that was like, maybe I will.

[00:13:35] Maybe I fucking maybe I will.

[00:13:37] I mean, Shadowheart's not doing nothing for me.

[00:13:40] Right.

[00:13:40] You know, like you get turned away by Shadowheart again.

[00:13:42] Like you had too many drinks.

[00:13:44] Like, there you go.

[00:13:45] Gail's there for you.

[00:13:47] No, Gail's always there for someone.

[00:13:50] I haven't played BG three yet, but I know that I like to be demeaned on podcasts, which

[00:13:55] is why I keep coming on these shows.

[00:13:56] So I'm definitely taking notes for when I do play.

[00:14:00] So thank you panel.

[00:14:02] Happy to help.

[00:14:03] Yes.

[00:14:05] I didn't like getting hissed at all the time.

[00:14:07] I can tell you that.

[00:14:08] Like I'd be like, I love you.

[00:14:10] And she'd be like, just like hissing at me and shit and be like, no, you mustn't talk

[00:14:14] to that.

[00:14:16] That's just that's going into the notebook.

[00:14:17] That's definitely on my list.

[00:14:19] So there you go.

[00:14:20] It's good to know what you like, really.

[00:14:22] I mean, I think that's that's all we could hope to learn from here.

[00:14:25] I'm really honest with my like, I've got a picture into the clear window that is Anthony

[00:14:29] and I feel stronger for it.

[00:14:33] I mean, I still feel like I'm but now that I think about it, I wish I had nominated Colonel

[00:14:38] Sanders from the Colonel Sanders KFC.

[00:14:40] Oh, that would have been a good one.

[00:14:42] Good one.

[00:14:43] Just thought of that.

[00:14:44] And I don't know why it popped into my head.

[00:14:45] Maybe I just want chicken.

[00:14:48] Getting that nice thick beard rustling around on you.

[00:14:51] I mean, I mean, you get to learn this recipe.

[00:14:53] Maybe it's got a big beard.

[00:14:55] He's got oil and grease everywhere.

[00:14:57] I mean, you would never have a dry moment because he could just like grab a drumstick and more

[00:15:02] grease kicking around at his house than a fucking P Diddy party.

[00:15:08] I mean, it really doesn't get better than sex and food.

[00:15:10] Right.

[00:15:10] Just saying.

[00:15:12] Get like acne from kissing him or something.

[00:15:18] Hey, Mike, you want to explain yours?

[00:15:21] Yours.

[00:15:22] Dr. Salvador.

[00:15:24] Like the little the little guy?

[00:15:26] No, the burlap sack chainsaw guy.

[00:15:31] That's Dr. Salvador.

[00:15:34] I think when he meant he'd split you in two, it was more the chainsaw and not the other

[00:15:38] thing, though.

[00:15:39] Yeah.

[00:15:40] Well, like he is better known as chainsaw man.

[00:15:43] Yes, he is.

[00:15:43] But that was his previous.

[00:15:45] You know, he has a real name.

[00:15:46] Right.

[00:15:46] He was a doctor, which I mean, obviously, so he's got it.

[00:15:49] Even though it's like post apocalypse now, he's got like a sick palatial estate and makes

[00:15:54] bank in Resident Evil.

[00:15:56] I mean, at least I can only assume.

[00:15:57] Correct.

[00:15:58] Like everybody wants to date a doctor.

[00:16:00] I'm like, and then he injected himself with the with the plot, the plague, you know,

[00:16:05] and he gained inhuman strength and durability and a purchase for mass murder and property

[00:16:10] damage, which are all things that I look for in the bedroom.

[00:16:13] And like Anthony said, he could probably go forever because he never stops if you've played

[00:16:18] the game.

[00:16:19] So I also got a burlap sack on his head and the chainsaw stays on in bed.

[00:16:24] So like what more could I desire in a hottie?

[00:16:29] Does the burlap sack have a hole for the mouth area?

[00:16:32] Because that's going to be important on this.

[00:16:33] Well, you can just pull the eye hole down.

[00:16:37] I guess that's it's glory hole adjacent.

[00:16:39] I can go.

[00:16:39] Yeah, there's two holes.

[00:16:41] Glory hole adjacent.

[00:16:43] New word.

[00:16:45] You can position the eye hole.

[00:16:46] So to me, it's not.

[00:16:49] I just didn't.

[00:16:50] So I played Resident Evil this year and I can't stop thinking about it.

[00:16:54] So I mean, look, I can respect a man in like a in a lab coat.

[00:17:01] Like I totally get that.

[00:17:02] But I would have gone more for like a Hojo type.

[00:17:04] Yeah.

[00:17:05] You know, if I was going for like the evil doctor, something a little bit more on the human side of things.

[00:17:10] Oh, Hojo fucks.

[00:17:11] Too low energy.

[00:17:12] No.

[00:17:13] I might fuck animals too.

[00:17:15] But I mean, he fucks.

[00:17:17] Totally go for Hojo.

[00:17:18] Yeah.

[00:17:19] I mean, like typically I would push back, but also as someone who has professed their love for Venom, the symbiote many a time.

[00:17:27] And as a certified Internet monster fucker, I kind of see where Mike is coming from.

[00:17:34] Can't really.

[00:17:35] Not my taste.

[00:17:37] But, you know, there is an argument to be made.

[00:17:42] Good story.

[00:17:43] I mean, I thought I went for.

[00:17:46] I mean, at the very least, he's got to have the most money of any of the nominees.

[00:17:50] Like, I'm not.

[00:17:51] I'm not like shallow, but I'm also not like against money.

[00:17:56] You're also not not.

[00:17:57] Yeah.

[00:17:58] Have you not seen Astro bots picking up coins the whole game?

[00:18:02] I mean, they're giant.

[00:18:03] Oh, go.

[00:18:03] The operating costs on him.

[00:18:05] So it's just a battery.

[00:18:09] I mean, you don't have to feed them.

[00:18:10] You don't.

[00:18:11] You can be out in water.

[00:18:12] I mean, you could make him sleep in a dog house and then just invite him in.

[00:18:16] Just get an Astro bot for free though.

[00:18:18] Yeah.

[00:18:19] Like there's environmental costs.

[00:18:20] Is it lithium ion batteries?

[00:18:22] Like.

[00:18:23] Yeah.

[00:18:24] But global fuckbot warning is for a different generation.

[00:18:27] That's our kids problem.

[00:18:28] All right.

[00:18:29] We can just use them and then.

[00:18:31] I don't know.

[00:18:32] It's like somebody just got a cyber truck on my mail route and I instantly feel turned off by that house now.

[00:18:37] And I kind of feel the same way.

[00:18:38] Oh, I thought you were going to say you want to fuck a cyber truck.

[00:18:41] No, that's like fucking a potato.

[00:18:43] You could peel it with a knife or something.

[00:18:44] So I just like.

[00:18:46] I just like.

[00:18:47] Just now when I walk by that house, I'm like, oh, and it's like Astro bot has one of those like weird plugs and I could see it outside.

[00:18:53] I feel like I kind of like.

[00:18:58] Instant turn off.

[00:19:01] Not into batteries.

[00:19:02] He is an instant turn off though.

[00:19:04] When you're done talking to him, you just flip the switch.

[00:19:07] I feel like that's a plus.

[00:19:08] I hate that you're making such a good case for Astro.

[00:19:10] I absolutely fucking hate that you're making such a good case for Astro.

[00:19:13] See, I just let the good doctor cut me in half at the end and then I don't have to worry about anything.

[00:19:17] Right.

[00:19:18] Exactly.

[00:19:18] You don't have to live with your choices.

[00:19:20] Yeah, it's just it's it's it ends on this podcast and then after sex.

[00:19:24] So Matt, explain to me who Lace Harding is.

[00:19:30] So I've shared a link to a photo just for those who maybe not played the game.

[00:19:35] She is a character who debuted in Dragon Age Inquisition as a scout of the Inquisition.

[00:19:40] She is a Dwarven archer and she returns in the Veil Guard as a cohort to the main character Rook and a good friend of Varick, who is another Dwarven character also who's been in the second and third games.

[00:19:52] And she's short, cute, redheaded, freckled and absolutely adorable.

[00:19:57] And why wouldn't you just want a video game wife?

[00:20:00] I don't just it seems so simple and clear.

[00:20:03] You know, also, no, like you, you mentioned that I am a Bioware super fan, which I am.

[00:20:08] And like people can say they play those games for the mechanics or the broad story.

[00:20:14] But people played Mass Effect because they wanted to have sex with aliens like let's be real.

[00:20:20] And Dragon Age is the same.

[00:20:23] Baldur's Gate is the same.

[00:20:24] We live for the romance.

[00:20:26] And so I picked my favorite character from Dragon Age.

[00:20:30] There are other totally wonderful characters that I could see folks going for.

[00:20:34] But Lace Harding is my one true love from my first playthrough of the game.

[00:20:37] So and from a game that came out this year.

[00:20:39] So I figured somewhat in line with what, you know, the real things do, but still something that is not mainstream just to like, you know, spice things up a bit.

[00:20:51] I do.

[00:20:52] So I have the questions.

[00:20:54] What what weapons does she use?

[00:20:57] So she uses a bow.

[00:21:00] She also uses daggers.

[00:21:02] And then she the other stuff she uses is a video game spoiler.

[00:21:06] So let's just say she has other magical tools at her disposal that she discovers through the game.

[00:21:14] So if you're those daggers undisclosed magic.

[00:21:16] Yeah, undisclosed magic.

[00:21:18] See, I have a problem with this one already because I heard short red hair and freckles.

[00:21:23] Now I think you're fucking Samwise Ganja.

[00:21:25] It just sounds like you're banging a hobbit.

[00:21:28] And that did nothing for me.

[00:21:30] See, I mean, plenty of attractive people in Lord of the Rings.

[00:21:33] None of the hobbits.

[00:21:34] And that's what I now have in my imagination.

[00:21:36] And I just I'm out.

[00:21:38] I only fantasize about Gandalf.

[00:21:40] Look, I'm just saying think about more Gimli than hobbits.

[00:21:45] But still no beard, though.

[00:21:47] No beard.

[00:21:47] These dwarven women don't have your health.

[00:21:49] You're helping the case there.

[00:21:51] I figured based on your choices and what you've said, I figured I was helping my my choice.

[00:21:56] I have an opposite problem with this choice.

[00:21:58] I look forward to being on a podcast with Matt because, you know, I thought I was going to get all sorts like weird, you know, demon fetish stuff.

[00:22:04] And instead I get like McDonald's twist soft serve cone choice of this group of nominees.

[00:22:10] And I no longer feel like my expectations are being met by this category that you made.

[00:22:16] It's fair.

[00:22:17] It's fair.

[00:22:18] Honestly, had Marvel rivals came out earlier, I would have thought to put Venom on the list.

[00:22:22] But, you know, I'm regretting it now.

[00:22:24] But we're sticking with the choice we made and have learned a lesson for next time.

[00:22:31] Okay.

[00:22:31] Okay.

[00:22:32] I mean, it's funny that you mentioned the many things that you can fuck in the Dragon Age and the Mass Effect games.

[00:22:42] I remember when I played Inquisition, I just straight up fucked that bull.

[00:22:48] Yeah.

[00:22:48] Iron bull.

[00:22:49] As of course you did.

[00:22:51] Why wouldn't you?

[00:22:53] Just the obvious choice.

[00:22:55] He wouldn't stop.

[00:22:57] Like, he just wouldn't leave me alone.

[00:22:58] He was just like, and I was like, I think I'm gonna fuck this guy.

[00:23:01] Like, he wore you down.

[00:23:03] He wore you down.

[00:23:04] In more than one way.

[00:23:06] Yep.

[00:23:10] I guess I'm the last on this to try to defend this.

[00:23:16] I was gonna go with like, a kind of obvious one.

[00:23:19] At first, I kind of like flip flopped over a couple things.

[00:23:22] I was gonna pick Eve from Stellar Blade and I was like, it's a little too on the nose.

[00:23:26] Okay, girl.

[00:23:27] Like she is.

[00:23:28] She is.

[00:23:30] Like she is a hottie but like, then I at like so I played a lot of UFO 50 this year.

[00:23:36] Which is a fantastic game.

[00:23:38] And I've been on the subreddit for UFO 50.

[00:23:42] And then out of nowhere, about a month ago, there was a lot of rule 34 showing up on that subreddit of this character alpha.

[00:23:55] And I was like, I'm not like, I'm, I'm not, I'm not dismissing this, this artwork.

[00:24:02] This is not terrible.

[00:24:04] I'm liking what I see.

[00:24:05] I mean, she's like a pixelated character in the game because of these all these games look like NES games.

[00:24:11] But God damn that the imaginations of the people that made these rule 34 captivated me.

[00:24:21] And I just, I felt like I needed to, I needed to put, put this one on there.

[00:24:25] I mean, I will say based on the banner photo of UFO, UFO 50.

[00:24:30] Yeah, she's front and center.

[00:24:31] Yeah, and she's got muscle mommy energy.

[00:24:33] Like I think of the Marine that Jane Lynch plays in Wreck-It Ralph.

[00:24:37] Like it's the same vibe, right?

[00:24:39] And so I can see it.

[00:24:41] I definitely can see it.

[00:24:43] Yep.

[00:24:43] Yep.

[00:24:44] Yep.

[00:24:44] She definitely like, I mean, again, in the game, you're not going to be a fan.

[00:24:48] I'm not going to get that.

[00:24:49] I mean, it's kind of like the same thing that happened to Anthony.

[00:24:51] Anthony, you've been playing fucking arcade games and shit.

[00:24:53] So you're just looking at pixels.

[00:24:54] Like you can't, you can't jack it to a pixel.

[00:24:57] I mean, you can, but like, you got to have that imagination.

[00:25:00] So these people took the imagination part and they did it for me.

[00:25:03] Like they, I mean, I didn't look, I'm getting too deep.

[00:25:06] I'm getting too deep.

[00:25:07] Uh, I am just going to say that I'm into what I was seeing for the artwork that people were creating for alpha.

[00:25:18] But I mean, logistically 2d game second dimension.

[00:25:23] There's nothing actually there for you to intrigue yourself.

[00:25:26] I mean, if you've met them in real life, you're just kind of trying to poke a line.

[00:25:30] You're not going to find anything there to pull wise.

[00:25:33] It's about the anima.

[00:25:34] It's animation.

[00:25:35] It's about the imagination, Anthony.

[00:25:37] It's all about the imagination.

[00:25:39] No, I think he's right.

[00:25:40] There's like, I just need zero pixelated junk in that trunk.

[00:25:43] Jerry, like there's nothing behind there.

[00:25:47] Well, there's nothing to hold.

[00:25:49] You're going to cut yourself on that.

[00:25:50] It's one pixel thin.

[00:25:52] Okay.

[00:25:53] Well, you know what?

[00:25:54] I'll, I'll dismiss myself.

[00:25:57] Okay.

[00:25:58] I'll, I'll be the first.

[00:26:00] Okay.

[00:26:00] I'll be the first to take, take the hit.

[00:26:03] I will get rid of my nomination.

[00:26:07] Um, there are still some strong contenders here.

[00:26:11] I think, Anthony, I hate that.

[00:26:16] I'm going to say this, but I feel like Astro boss making a good case for this.

[00:26:20] And I, I, I, I came into this being like, this is going to be funny.

[00:26:24] This is not funny anymore.

[00:26:25] This is serious.

[00:26:26] It's like, this is like, this is something that needs to get settled because I, I didn't,

[00:26:31] I didn't expect this to happen.

[00:26:33] Um, how are we feeling about the rest?

[00:26:37] I mean, I feel like if you look at it from the point that Mike was looking at it from

[00:26:44] like a realist view, you know, who, who has the most money, who could take care of you?

[00:26:49] I feel like in this, and again, I don't know enough about Lace Harding.

[00:26:53] We all could use a little extra scratch, but this is true.

[00:26:59] This is true.

[00:27:00] Um, Mike, what's your, what's, what's your case for Dr.

[00:27:05] Salvador?

[00:27:05] Why, why does Dr. Salvador beat out the remaining ones here?

[00:27:08] Well, I feel like Elon is probably already fucking an Astro bot of some sort.

[00:27:13] So like, I want no part of like that stigma on me.

[00:27:20] And this is, this is true.

[00:27:22] And I mean, the other, the other two are strong contenders, but I haven't played those games.

[00:27:26] So I can't like, I can't fight for them.

[00:27:28] So, I mean, I'm inclined to remove myself and join forces with Jamie because I think,

[00:27:35] I think Carlack is a stronger competitor in them.

[00:27:38] As much as I love Lace Harding, I did pick a character from a game that came out at the

[00:27:42] end of this year that not everybody has played and followed my heart instead of my junk, which

[00:27:47] was probably the mistake.

[00:27:49] That said, uh, I am willing to remove Lace Harding and join forces to fight with Jamie for Carlack.

[00:27:56] Oh my God.

[00:27:56] We have our first partnership.

[00:28:00] Jamie, do you accept?

[00:28:02] I do.

[00:28:03] I do.

[00:28:03] I do.

[00:28:03] As tempting as Astro bot is, I'm going to stick with Carlack here because I mean, having

[00:28:07] like a six, six foot woman with a tail that can carry you around in her arms.

[00:28:11] Like hell.

[00:28:12] Yes.

[00:28:12] Everyone just wants to be held.

[00:28:14] I don't care who you, that's all you want.

[00:28:16] That's all we all want.

[00:28:18] Anthony can Astro bot hold us.

[00:28:20] He's too small.

[00:28:21] I mean, his little arms, he got a little, there's no, there's no scale in the game.

[00:28:26] And like, let's, let's go down the line.

[00:28:27] We talk about money.

[00:28:28] Astro bot has a private jet in the game.

[00:28:31] He can fly you anywhere.

[00:28:32] There are literal golden gems everywhere.

[00:28:34] He goes beachfront vacations.

[00:28:36] There's pools.

[00:28:37] There's floaties.

[00:28:38] There's food, all of that.

[00:28:40] And at the end of the day, when you get tired of talking to him, you can just turn him off and

[00:28:44] not feel bad.

[00:28:45] And it isn't that what you really want is companionship on demand, but not 24 seven.

[00:28:51] I'm just saying he's a no commitment.

[00:28:53] Fuck robot that has a private jet.

[00:28:56] And that just, that's what I'm saying.

[00:28:59] I will concede if you can promise me a burlap sack and a chainsaw on Astro bot.

[00:29:05] He has so many other costs.

[00:29:07] That's not what I want.

[00:29:08] That's not what I'm here for you.

[00:29:09] Like I have very specific glory hole adjacent.

[00:29:14] I mean, I will say that car lack is likely kinkier than Astro bot.

[00:29:19] Just say something.

[00:29:20] Yeah.

[00:29:21] Something's going on there.

[00:29:22] Demon from hell, infernal engine in her heart.

[00:29:26] Like she's like, she's like, I'm going to bottle out one of these other two candidates have to fulfill my needs.

[00:29:32] Like, yeah.

[00:29:34] Car lack uses big hair, heavy, scary weapons.

[00:29:37] So like the chainsaw dynamic is there to Astro bot uses like tiny little frog gloves and a little back.

[00:29:43] Like doesn't really have that chainsaw energy.

[00:29:47] I'm just saying car lack.

[00:29:48] You're going to get that broad sword, large sharp object angle.

[00:29:53] All right.

[00:29:54] Those are not tiny little frog gloves.

[00:29:56] Those are really powerful fistic gloves.

[00:29:58] So in one corner, I have Matt telling me what I want to hear.

[00:30:01] And I feel like I'm being pandered to, but I like it.

[00:30:04] And then on the other end, I have Anthony, who's got a pachinko machine and is drinking the champagne of beers.

[00:30:09] And as a midwest boy, like I appreciate this aesthetic that's going on.

[00:30:14] And I, even though I've just met you, I already feel like I've known you forever.

[00:30:17] So, uh, I also live in the Midwest.

[00:30:19] I'm in Chicago right now.

[00:30:20] So I'm going to go with Chicago is the butthole of America.

[00:30:25] And I know for car.

[00:30:29] I will never vote for anything from Chicago.

[00:30:33] I mean, that makes total sense because I've never met anyone from Wisconsin that has half a brain.

[00:30:38] So you can still haven't.

[00:30:40] That's why I run a question.

[00:30:44] Oh, man.

[00:30:45] Well, I mean, we can get the burlack sack for Carlyle.

[00:30:49] I don't know if she can get like a chainsaw, but she could probably get like a really jagged sword.

[00:30:54] Yeah.

[00:30:55] Yeah, that's a big axe.

[00:30:56] You've already sold me.

[00:30:57] You don't need to sell me further.

[00:31:00] Yeah, let's go.

[00:31:02] All right.

[00:31:03] So we're going to eliminate Dr. Salvador.

[00:31:06] Mike's pick.

[00:31:07] We are down to Astrobot.

[00:31:10] And I never thought I was going to be having this conversation.

[00:31:13] And this, you know what?

[00:31:13] This is exactly exactly what anti game of the year is all about.

[00:31:17] The fact that we are arguing who is more fuckable.

[00:31:21] Astrobot or Carlac?

[00:31:24] Well, we got three votes on Carlac.

[00:31:25] Now I have officially shipped in my vote.

[00:31:29] So, yeah.

[00:31:30] So, Jerry, is this like a jury situation where we all have to be unanimous or?

[00:31:34] No.

[00:31:35] Like, Anthony, any final?

[00:31:39] Look, man, if you don't get this, which you're not going to get this.

[00:31:46] That was the craziest pitch I've ever heard.

[00:31:51] And now I don't know if I can look at Astrobot the same again.

[00:31:54] That's the only thing I was going for.

[00:31:57] I thought exactly what he wanted.

[00:31:59] I had to have something fun with this.

[00:32:01] I'm like, what is the least attractive thing that I could possibly pick?

[00:32:05] And what game did I enjoy playing?

[00:32:07] I'm like, Astrobot.

[00:32:07] Now my heart doesn't know the thing.

[00:32:08] Because now I don't.

[00:32:09] His feelings for Astrobot weren't true in the first place.

[00:32:12] And now I don't know what I'm doing here.

[00:32:16] We're giving Mike an existential crisis.

[00:32:18] Dude, and I have those daily.

[00:32:19] That's why we're so deep in the alcohol.

[00:32:22] Only once a day?

[00:32:24] Man, you're lucky.

[00:32:25] That's why I work outside by myself.

[00:32:27] All right, so, Anthony, I'm sorry buddy, but your beloved Astrobot has lost.

[00:32:36] Karlak is the video game hottie of the year.

[00:32:41] Matt, how do you feel about that?

[00:32:44] This was your award?

[00:32:46] I'm happy with this result.

[00:32:47] I, you know, obviously would have been happiest if my choice won.

[00:32:50] But I was strategic this time in an attempt to hopefully cash that in later.

[00:32:56] And also, I mean, it cannot be denied that Karlak is one of the hottest characters in video games.

[00:33:00] Quite literally.

[00:33:01] Also, like what brought me over to Jamie's side was the punniness of it as well, which I cannot deny a good pun.

[00:33:08] See? You thought that was stupid?

[00:33:09] You thought that was stupid?

[00:33:10] But I got one vote for it.

[00:33:11] See?

[00:33:12] See?

[00:33:14] Well, congratulations, Jamie.

[00:33:16] You've won the first category.

[00:33:19] Now.

[00:33:19] We all won.

[00:33:20] I mean, yes, for sure.

[00:33:22] We do all win with Karlak.

[00:33:24] That's for damn sure.

[00:33:26] Mike?

[00:33:26] Everything good?

[00:33:27] My cat just jumped off the top of a dresser into one of those basketball hoop style hampers that holds like kids clothes.

[00:33:34] And just now he's slam dunked.

[00:33:37] It's now stuck in the burlap sack.

[00:33:38] And I'm trying to decide how long until I defuse this situation, but we're pretty good right now.

[00:33:43] Oh, wait, your cat's in a burlap sack?

[00:33:45] We know now how you feel about those.

[00:33:47] I do.

[00:33:47] I have an affinity for them.

[00:33:48] And I had to compromise my wants and needs for this podcast.

[00:33:53] But my cat is from there already.

[00:33:58] Well, let's let's move forwardly on to the next category, which is Anthony.

[00:34:07] This is yours.

[00:34:08] This is your category.

[00:34:10] Let's let's see what you got.

[00:34:13] So I went with Nintendo fan games, most likely to get you sued by Nintendo because I accidentally made one video about Nintendo lawsuits.

[00:34:20] And now apparently it is like the pillar of my personality online.

[00:34:23] So I figured why not talk about shit Nintendo would hate because that seems to be my life now.

[00:34:31] Yeah, I mean, I've watched those videos.

[00:34:33] They're good.

[00:34:35] They are fun.

[00:34:36] But yeah, that's like once a week now is just poking fun at Nintendo.

[00:34:40] So I figured what games are they really not like?

[00:34:42] And what are the games that I want to put on the channel?

[00:34:45] But I stopped myself from doing knowing I'm going to get shit for it.

[00:34:47] And I picked shotgun Mario because giving a plumber made by Nintendo a double barrel shotgun like the Doom guy did actually get people sued this year.

[00:34:57] So I really just kind of put in a ringer because it did cause lawsuits.

[00:35:00] Oh, my God.

[00:35:02] Yeah, that was a ring cause a lawsuit.

[00:35:04] That was a I cheated on that one because I knew it would be a winner.

[00:35:10] Yeah.

[00:35:10] And who?

[00:35:11] Yeah.

[00:35:12] Who else do we have for the nominations, Anthony?

[00:35:15] Well, you're supposed to read these things, too.

[00:35:17] Okay.

[00:35:18] We also have we also have Super Mario Maker 64 from Jamie.

[00:35:22] We have we drink all night from Mike.

[00:35:25] I am looking off the screen.

[00:35:27] I look crazy.

[00:35:28] The bubble bath Mario and my favorite Pokemon mating simulator.

[00:35:32] I want to know how those shapes go together.

[00:35:35] I mean, there's like some real weird configurations.

[00:35:37] Where does the stuff come out?

[00:35:38] They don't.

[00:35:38] It's like how does a Snorlax fuck a Gyarados?

[00:35:42] I mean, look, it's left to our imaginations, the mating process and the Pokemon games.

[00:35:47] Why not get more?

[00:35:48] Yeah, what clearly other companies has proven this year the fastest way to get sued by Nintendo is to infringe on Pokemon.

[00:35:57] And so my logic was if we're going to make a game that's most likely or pick a game or create a game that's most likely to get sued by Nintendo.

[00:36:04] Literally anything with Pokemon in it or Pokemon looking creatures will definitely do it.

[00:36:11] That is true.

[00:36:13] Yeah, it's a solid argument.

[00:36:16] But they didn't sue about the creature side styles.

[00:36:19] It's all about throwing a ball in front of you.

[00:36:22] Yeah, like Madden.

[00:36:24] Oh, yeah, that's that's what they they like.

[00:36:26] Like, wasn't that the thing?

[00:36:28] They were like, oh, we've we've patented this like thing.

[00:36:31] This like thing you do in a video game and people were like, what are you talking about?

[00:36:37] Nintendo patented playing with your balls and I'm going to be screwed because of that.

[00:36:44] Mike, what does we drink all night?

[00:36:47] It's the we drinking game.

[00:36:51] I thought it was pretty self explanatory.

[00:36:53] I don't like is it the two eyes that confused you and we that.

[00:36:58] To be fair, you speak slowly to Jerry really.

[00:37:02] Yeah.

[00:37:02] Hey, hey, hey.

[00:37:03] I should have learned this.

[00:37:05] Do you all remember Jennifer Strange, the the lady who died trying to hold her urine in after drinking again?

[00:37:13] Oh, yeah.

[00:37:14] Yeah.

[00:37:15] So so Nintendo has a huge stick up its ass about how much you can drink while playing one of their motion based systems.

[00:37:21] So once they saw this game that we drink all night, where eight year olds are putting getting all juiced up on hams and brandy old fashions and playing this party game, they decided they were going to shut that down, which is like a lose lose for everyone.

[00:37:35] As we're all drinking here, recording this podcast.

[00:37:38] We could be playing.

[00:37:39] That's true.

[00:37:40] We could be playing for Matt.

[00:37:41] The excellent.

[00:37:42] That's OK, Matt.

[00:37:44] But it's fine.

[00:37:45] I have water.

[00:37:46] Water is still important and relevant to the story.

[00:37:48] I mean, that's what killed her.

[00:37:50] Yeah, it is.

[00:37:50] Water poisoning.

[00:37:51] Yeah.

[00:37:53] Which is why we don't drink it here.

[00:37:55] I remember that.

[00:37:58] I do remember that lady dying by her own piss.

[00:38:02] Mm hmm.

[00:38:03] So bless the bless the we and we you homebrew channels for the numerous things that Nintendo doesn't like that's on them.

[00:38:13] This is yeah.

[00:38:15] OK.

[00:38:15] We plug number one of the night, by the way.

[00:38:20] You're still after me about this fucking we you.

[00:38:23] Yeah.

[00:38:24] Jamie.

[00:38:25] What's a suit.

[00:38:27] I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory Super Mario Maker 64.

[00:38:31] Well, somebody basically made an N64 Mario Super Mario Maker like Mario 64 Super Mario Maker.

[00:38:38] It's got Mario characters and I figure they're going to be a little extra sensitive about their Mario characters right now with like Luigi Mangione or whatever his name is getting arrested.

[00:38:48] So they might be a little extra touchy about the Mario things going on.

[00:38:53] Yeah.

[00:38:54] That's my only logic.

[00:38:55] I mean, Mario characters, Nintendo IP.

[00:38:59] Mass killer with a Mario name.

[00:39:01] Or a single killer.

[00:39:02] Just one killer.

[00:39:03] Individual killer.

[00:39:04] There's gonna be so many Super Mario Maker 64 levels where it's just Luigi going around like shooting people.

[00:39:12] You know, you know, someone's making this the CEO.

[00:39:15] Oh, yeah.

[00:39:16] It makes perfect sense.

[00:39:17] So if you could think of one Nintendo character that would get upset and shoot somebody, it is Luigi.

[00:39:21] I mean, he's gonna murder a CEO.

[00:39:24] It just is gonna be Bowser instead.

[00:39:26] But that perfectly tracks.

[00:39:27] If anyone's gonna snap, it's gonna be Luigi.

[00:39:30] Yeah, that's his personality.

[00:39:31] He's downtrodden on.

[00:39:32] He's always playing second fiddle to Mario.

[00:39:35] And yeah, wouldn't you be pissed too?

[00:39:36] Like they gave him a whole year.

[00:39:38] No way to gave a fuck.

[00:39:40] The year of Luigi.

[00:39:41] You guys remember that?

[00:39:43] Oh, yeah.

[00:39:43] Even the year of shadow is better than the year of Luigi.

[00:39:46] That's just...

[00:39:47] I mean, come on.

[00:39:48] The hedgehog?

[00:39:48] The hedgehog.

[00:39:49] I shouldn't have to be the one that's here standing this, but Luigi just saved our country by taking care of a CEO this week.

[00:39:56] So I mean, we're...

[00:39:58] I will stand Luigi if I have to.

[00:40:02] It's always like that.

[00:40:02] He's never appreciated.

[00:40:03] Yep.

[00:40:04] Never appreciated Luigi.

[00:40:05] Always underappreciated.

[00:40:06] I texted a friend today the gif of him very angrily passing Donkey Kong in Mario Kart with that like death stare.

[00:40:13] And just captioned it.

[00:40:16] Would Luigi be looking at that CEO like...

[00:40:20] So you can see why Nintendo would be threatened here.

[00:40:22] For sure.

[00:40:23] It's a little too close to comfort.

[00:40:25] Yep.

[00:40:25] What I find really funny is that...

[00:40:28] Like, I mean, Nintendo has a lot of IP.

[00:40:31] But the majority of these nominations are all Mario.

[00:40:34] Because we know how butthurt Nintendo gets about like anything that has anything to do with Mario.

[00:40:41] Which is why I picked Bubble Bath Mario.

[00:40:44] It's literally just some fucking ROM hack that somebody threw together of Bubble Bobble.

[00:40:51] But it just has Mario in a bikini.

[00:40:54] Um, and he has lady parts.

[00:40:56] Because he's very bodacious in this bikini of his.

[00:41:00] And, uh, it's...

[00:41:03] I was confused but also into it at the same time.

[00:41:10] And...

[00:41:11] I think they would be very pissed about that particular ROM hack.

[00:41:17] Just because like...

[00:41:19] Nintendo is a Japanese company.

[00:41:21] I feel like it's one thing to put a shotgun in Mario's hands.

[00:41:24] But it's another thing to be like, let's put him in a bikini.

[00:41:27] They're gonna be like...

[00:41:28] I mean, they got...

[00:41:29] I feel like they were like really going out of their way to be like, okay, guys.

[00:41:35] In Mario Odyssey, there's a beach level.

[00:41:37] We're gonna have to take Mario's top off.

[00:41:40] And when they pop that top off, they like...

[00:41:42] Somebody had to make Mario's nipples.

[00:41:44] And I feel like Nintendo was upset about that.

[00:41:47] Because there was like a whole thing.

[00:41:48] People were making memes about it.

[00:41:49] And they were like mad about it.

[00:41:51] They were like, stop focusing on Mario's nipples.

[00:41:53] We're trying to show this game at E3 and all this other shit.

[00:41:57] So I feel like...

[00:41:58] Like I said before, anything to do with Mario is gonna piss them off.

[00:42:02] Especially this.

[00:42:03] Like, I definitely don't think they're gonna be happy about him being in a bikini.

[00:42:08] They weren't happy about him showing his nipples to begin with.

[00:42:11] Well, they should have been because...

[00:42:12] Jerry makes a good point.

[00:42:16] The dad bod Mario was all the rage.

[00:42:18] And as somebody who has a dad bod, like...

[00:42:21] I was really for the internet embracing Mario's zero pack and exposed nipples.

[00:42:29] Something I do every weekend.

[00:42:32] Zero pack!

[00:42:33] Yeah.

[00:42:34] I'm pretty sure the only Nintendo character that's allowed to be in a bikini is gonna be Samus.

[00:42:39] That's true.

[00:42:40] And Samus isn't even really in a bikini anymore.

[00:42:43] Just a skin tight bodysuit.

[00:42:46] Although I will say Nintendo does get weird when any of their characters are sexualized.

[00:42:51] But especially the Mario characters.

[00:42:53] Like I think about when the newest tennis game for Switch came out.

[00:42:58] Aces.

[00:42:59] I think it was Tennis Aces.

[00:43:01] People were losing their minds over Luigi's supposed junk because of the way his shorts looked.

[00:43:07] No way!

[00:43:08] In that character art.

[00:43:10] And so like people were literally losing their minds.

[00:43:13] And so I feel like Nintendo anytime anything gets sexual about any of those characters.

[00:43:17] Or like how Princess Peach in previous soccer games was like in a two piece.

[00:43:22] And then they put her in a one piece for the new game because people got weird about it.

[00:43:26] Which to be fair, people did get very weird about it.

[00:43:28] There's the whole Bowsette thing which we isn't even canonical but is basically...

[00:43:34] They were mad about that.

[00:43:35] Yeah.

[00:43:36] So I feel like while I did pick Pokemon because I was thinking obviously about other actual lawsuits from this year.

[00:43:43] I do think that the Mario games probably have a better shot at like actually getting you sued by Nintendo.

[00:43:50] Because they have been very weird and very upset about literally anything to do with those characters.

[00:43:56] But hang on, I want to know more about Pokemon Mating Simulator.

[00:44:00] Before we get rid of this, man, we gotta know like what...

[00:44:04] Tell me about Manapod specifically.

[00:44:07] So I did not Google any of the other submissions and did not realize they were actual ROM hacks that existed.

[00:44:16] Well, mine's not even a real game.

[00:44:18] So I made up.

[00:44:18] Right.

[00:44:19] Right.

[00:44:20] And so mine is not either.

[00:44:21] It's based off of there's a Pokemon breeding simulator website where you can like combine Pokemon art of like two Pokemon and it creates a new Pokemon that's a mix of the two.

[00:44:33] And I saw that and was like, well, what if what if we really figured out how to make that happen?

[00:44:39] It's basically a farming Sim where you're raising just animals, except you're raising specifically Pokemon and trying to get them to mate.

[00:44:49] It finally will.

[00:44:50] And it's finally going to show us what it means to get like those.

[00:44:55] What is it?

[00:44:56] Rare Pokemon versions of the Pokemon by having them mate with a ditto and how that's like you get the best ones with the best IVs.

[00:45:06] Like we're going to have to see how that works now in all the details.

[00:45:10] See, I thought it was like a simulator, but we had to watch like a 25 minute Newgrounds flash animation of it actually happening.

[00:45:17] That's the way I pictured this game.

[00:45:20] I mean, you're basically correct that you're basically.

[00:45:22] So it's like animal channel?

[00:45:23] Yeah.

[00:45:24] Yes.

[00:45:24] Basically animal channel.

[00:45:26] Wild kingdom going on.

[00:45:27] Yeah, exactly.

[00:45:27] I mean, Anthony, Jamie, you guys know people.

[00:45:30] Can we get somebody to make this?

[00:45:33] Can we, do you guys know some people that can maybe.

[00:45:36] I like the implications.

[00:45:36] I think all you need to do.

[00:45:38] I was going to say, it's going to get made now.

[00:45:41] Yeah.

[00:45:42] I think I look at the initiative.

[00:45:43] I just spoke it into existence for better or worse.

[00:45:46] Yeah.

[00:45:46] I think we're really excited for that.

[00:45:48] I can only imagine some people would go way too complex.

[00:45:51] I mean, like, how do they go together?

[00:45:53] That's what I keep thinking about.

[00:45:54] Like this Pikachu red rocket on something or like, how does it work?

[00:45:58] I don't understand.

[00:45:59] Like, are there not configurable Pokemon just because their parts don't.

[00:46:03] We need the same spot.

[00:46:04] If you get much darker too, they could like anthropomorphize things here.

[00:46:07] Like who says the Pokemon can't be in like the bikinis too.

[00:46:13] Totally go that way too.

[00:46:14] Yeah.

[00:46:15] Could be based on the, we could have fucking bikini.

[00:46:17] The sexualization and we could have the Nintendo Pokemon.

[00:46:20] Like we got like a double there.

[00:46:22] Based on this, on the sacred internet.

[00:46:24] Can we give a shotgun too?

[00:46:25] Like Vaporeon has been explored in this way to the end of time.

[00:46:31] Oh yeah.

[00:46:32] So if you've, if you haven't, if you haven't read about Vaporeon on the internet, I just,

[00:46:36] I mean, just take those words together, mating in Vaporeon and go explore.

[00:46:40] I mean, I talked about rule 34 earlier.

[00:46:42] I've, I've seen, I've seen that.

[00:46:45] Oh, we've all seen Markiplier Pokemon Smasher Pats.

[00:46:48] We know, we know where that goes.

[00:46:50] The more humanly the Pokemon get, the weirder people get.

[00:46:53] Also like you think about Machamp, like we were talking about just being held and carried.

[00:46:57] Like Machamp is basically a dude with four arms and a wrestling belt who could cradle you like a baby.

[00:47:05] Well, I like the crazy thing is imagine if this gets brought into existence that would like, imagine if we could outsource and be like, hey, let's make the most offensive, like Nintendo ROM hack.

[00:47:20] That's for sure going to get somebody.

[00:47:23] So somebody is going to need to be very anonymous about this.

[00:47:25] So Jamie and Anthony, if you know somebody that can make this, make sure that they're anonymous.

[00:47:29] And if you guys are the ones that are going to make it, you're anonymous.

[00:47:35] If I made it, is this going to be two stick figures of Pokemon fucking because I've got no artistic skills at all.

[00:47:40] That would make it better for me.

[00:47:42] But I am good at hiding my tracks.

[00:47:45] I mean, Jamie, you know how to code and stuff.

[00:47:47] I mean, you could probably come up with like a good XP system or something.

[00:47:50] Do not, do not look to me for this.

[00:47:52] Jamie is like, not me.

[00:47:53] Don't put this on me.

[00:47:55] Dude, yeah, dude, this is not going on me.

[00:47:57] And if it was, I would never admit to it.

[00:47:59] Never in a million years say that I was involved with such a thing.

[00:48:02] Smart.

[00:48:03] That's a very smart answer.

[00:48:04] Yes.

[00:48:05] For somebody that may or may not work on it.

[00:48:07] Just kidding.

[00:48:12] So, okay.

[00:48:14] How are we feeling?

[00:48:15] Okay.

[00:48:16] First of all, Shotgun Mario is hilarious.

[00:48:19] Yeah.

[00:48:19] And actually exists, which is even better.

[00:48:22] It's fun.

[00:48:23] It's completely impossible to play.

[00:48:25] It's so hard to control.

[00:48:27] It kind of feels like Mario is going to Columbine his way through a room full of Goombas.

[00:48:32] And what's, I mean, what's worse?

[00:48:35] Mario sexualized or Mario shotgunning things?

[00:48:38] Sexual.

[00:48:38] That's something that Nintendo never gives you is a gun.

[00:48:41] You get like a paint gun.

[00:48:43] No, he has a gun in Mario and Rabbids.

[00:48:46] And they were really upset about that.

[00:48:48] They were like really flip flopping about it.

[00:48:50] They were like, but that was Ubisoft.

[00:48:52] I don't know.

[00:48:52] That wasn't Nintendo.

[00:48:53] Ubisoft made that, didn't they?

[00:48:54] But Shigeru Miyamoto himself was like, I, is there, is there something else we can do

[00:49:00] here?

[00:49:00] Coming from the N64 community.

[00:49:01] I just want to say that we have wholly embraced Shotgun Mario though.

[00:49:06] Like we are now protecting Shotgun Mario from the rest of the world.

[00:49:10] Like it's, there will always be a copy available.

[00:49:13] I promise.

[00:49:14] So you have like 64 copies of Shotgun Mario just stored on like an SD somewhere that's

[00:49:23] locked.

[00:49:23] That needs like two keys to open.

[00:49:26] We're not talking about that.

[00:49:28] But so, okay, wait, do we keep Pokemon mating simulator?

[00:49:35] It, in theory, it could possibly be the most offensive Nintendo ROM hack.

[00:49:45] Like it could be.

[00:49:47] It could be, but also like, not to be down on myself or, or Mike, but both of us did not

[00:49:56] bring games that actually exist.

[00:49:58] Yeah.

[00:49:58] We didn't do that.

[00:49:59] So I, I do feel like it does disqualify us cause it's not, you said fan game and these

[00:50:07] are games that fans came up with that me and Mike came up with, but we, they are not

[00:50:12] actually existing fan games.

[00:50:14] So I feel like it disqualifies them a little bit.

[00:50:16] So on a technicality, we're getting rid of, we drink all night.

[00:50:20] Mike's nomination in Pokemon mating simulator.

[00:50:23] Yes.

[00:50:25] Done.

[00:50:26] Okay.

[00:50:27] Well, I'm going to say, although I like Super Mario maker 64 and I think it's a solid choice.

[00:50:34] It's probably not the most interesting one here.

[00:50:36] It's just a little too mundane.

[00:50:38] I mean, I can't compete with like a shotgun or a bikini.

[00:50:40] And you can't win every category either.

[00:50:42] How can you?

[00:50:42] I read the rules of the show and you're not allowed to win all five categories.

[00:50:46] So it's, it's true.

[00:50:47] It's true.

[00:50:48] It's just not allowed.

[00:50:49] It's just part of the list.

[00:50:50] It's just in the bylaws.

[00:50:51] I signed the piece of paper.

[00:50:53] It showed up.

[00:50:53] Yeah.

[00:50:54] Wait, you signed something?

[00:50:56] Yeah.

[00:50:57] I need to be here.

[00:50:59] Oh, right.

[00:51:00] Sure.

[00:51:00] Of course.

[00:51:01] Totally.

[00:51:01] I did too.

[00:51:02] Totally.

[00:51:05] So I think I'm going to throw my lot in with shotgun Mario.

[00:51:09] Honestly, I think that one.

[00:51:11] Okay.

[00:51:12] Okay.

[00:51:12] I mean, it's in its defense.

[00:51:14] One game has been around since the NES era and one game came out like eight months ago

[00:51:18] and already got in trouble.

[00:51:20] Yeah.

[00:51:21] So that's true.

[00:51:22] Yeah.

[00:51:23] So that's true.

[00:51:23] Anthony makes a good point.

[00:51:23] I mean, I think I might have to throw my lot in with shotgun Mario.

[00:51:26] Also as a recent lover of first person shooters and more specifically, my favorite weapon in most shooting games is a shotgun because I can't aim for shit with a shotgun.

[00:51:35] You usually have a big shotgun.

[00:51:36] It's my favorite.

[00:51:37] So my man, it's just the appeal of it, right?

[00:51:40] Yeah.

[00:51:40] The appeal of it is what makes it threatening to Nintendo.

[00:51:42] Like people like it.

[00:51:43] Yeah.

[00:51:44] Totally.

[00:51:45] If I may make my case to the to the dais.

[00:51:49] I will say that Anthony brought this here.

[00:51:54] Knowing it was a ringer.

[00:51:56] That's true.

[00:51:58] He knew that this was going to be something that's already had people sued.

[00:52:05] So this is his category where he brought something where he was like, this is already suing people.

[00:52:12] Yeah.

[00:52:12] But Nintendo sued like 20 things this year.

[00:52:14] You all had options.

[00:52:16] It's not like it's a runoff.

[00:52:17] Everything you could have done.

[00:52:19] The pal world would have been perfectly fine.

[00:52:23] Yeah.

[00:52:23] Anything.

[00:52:24] You could have picked anything.

[00:52:25] Because if I'm going to get technical, it says most likely to get you sued.

[00:52:29] But you said that they're already sued for sure.

[00:52:33] That's like 100% likelihood.

[00:52:34] Like I know how to do that.

[00:52:36] That's perfectly likely.

[00:52:38] I'm trying.

[00:52:39] I think you're helping Anthony's case.

[00:52:41] Like it happened.

[00:52:42] I thought about bringing AM2R for the same reason, but you know.

[00:52:46] Oh yeah.

[00:52:47] But I didn't.

[00:52:47] And as resident Jerry hater here, I'm not voting for Jerry's game.

[00:52:52] I mean, that sounds pretty unanimous except Jerry then for Shotgun Mario.

[00:52:57] Yeah.

[00:52:57] Well, I'll just take my bikini Mario and fuck off, I guess.

[00:53:01] As you would.

[00:53:02] So winner of the Nintendo fan game, most likely to get you sued by Nintendo.

[00:53:08] The person that made the category won the category, which is not unusual.

[00:53:12] That's happened in previous anti-game of the years.

[00:53:15] Shotgun Mario, Anthony's pick has won Nintendo fan game most likely to get you sued by Nintendo because they already got some.

[00:53:23] So 100% likely.

[00:53:24] Yeah, there it is.

[00:53:26] Can't argue with airtight logic like that.

[00:53:28] No.

[00:53:29] Nope.

[00:53:29] Can't.

[00:53:30] All right.

[00:53:31] Moving on to the next category.

[00:53:35] We got.

[00:53:36] Wait, hold on.

[00:53:37] Before we do.

[00:53:37] Does anybody need to take like a bathroom break or anything?

[00:53:40] Just let me know.

[00:53:42] After the third category, I'll definitely use a fee break, but I'm good now.

[00:53:45] Okay.

[00:53:45] Okay.

[00:53:46] We'll take a, we'll take a quick bathroom break after the third.

[00:53:49] Okay.

[00:53:50] So the next category is Jamie's category that she has brought to us.

[00:53:55] It is her award.

[00:53:56] Jamie, I will give you the floor to present your award.

[00:54:00] Okay.

[00:54:02] So I was playing a game earlier this year called Gestalt, Steam and Cinder, and there was this tutorial.

[00:54:07] Yes.

[00:54:08] And it's a good game, but the tutorial is just pictures on the wall.

[00:54:11] Yeah.

[00:54:12] And I, I could not figure out what the heck they wanted.

[00:54:15] Like it, I just couldn't get past the obstacle because it was completely abstruse picture of these people on the wall.

[00:54:21] And so I was thinking to myself, like how many games are there?

[00:54:23] Like you never get to play because the tutorial beats you.

[00:54:26] Right.

[00:54:27] Like you can't, the tutorial is either too long.

[00:54:29] Like you have to like, just give up or like, it's just too abstruse and bizarre to get through.

[00:54:34] So this category is all about like games with like excessive or confusing tutorials.

[00:54:41] Uh, and so let's see what we've got here.

[00:54:44] I guess mine first.

[00:54:46] And I actually went with Hearthstone, which is, um, it's like a card game by Blizzard.

[00:54:50] It's kind of like World of Warcraft themed.

[00:54:52] And I was thinking to myself, like what, what game like has like the most overbearing tutorials of anything I've ever played.

[00:54:58] And I realized the only reason I've ever played that game was to do the tutorials.

[00:55:03] Uh, because you get like free stuff for the tutorials.

[00:55:05] So I've literally never played the game, but I've opened it many, many times just for the tutorials.

[00:55:11] So, uh, that one gets my vote as like, it's like a tutorial, like honeypot.

[00:55:15] Like I've never actually gotten through all of them too.

[00:55:17] There's like maybe 10, 15 half done tutorials in that game for me.

[00:55:22] Um, so that's the one that gets my nomination here.

[00:55:26] Let's see. What do we have next?

[00:55:28] Uh, final.

[00:55:29] So Mike, you're up next with Final Fantasy eight.

[00:55:32] Yes.

[00:55:34] Did you want, have you played Final Fantasy eight?

[00:55:40] I mean.

[00:55:43] Okay. So you get, okay.

[00:55:44] So you start Final Fantasy eight.

[00:55:46] Okay.

[00:55:46] I'll go on my diatribe right now if I need to like, so you start Final Fantasy eight.

[00:55:50] And the first thing you do is go through four tutorials.

[00:55:52] And then you sit down at a desk and you read a bunch more tutorials.

[00:55:57] And then your first mission is a seed field exam, which is a tutorial dungeon.

[00:56:01] And then, uh, right before you do that, you get a tutorial telling you how to do junctioning in the tutorial.

[00:56:08] And then you go on the forest owls mission, which is like a train heist tutorial.

[00:56:14] And then, uh, then you do a few more tutorials and you're done with, um, to the almost the end of this one.

[00:56:19] We're one of four discs here.

[00:56:21] Um, and then to cap off disc one, uh, Irvine stops you.

[00:56:25] Who's a later character in the middle of one of the last boss fights, the iguaians, the big like lizard fight to tell you how he tutorializes himself.

[00:56:34] He tells you how to control Irvine during a boss fight after you're at least five to 10 hours into the game.

[00:56:42] Um, and that's just disc one.

[00:56:44] Then if you're really lucky in disc two, uh, squall will stop you in the middle of a battle and give you a tutorial on how the junction fire.

[00:56:50] And we go on and on and on, uh, for four discs of this game.

[00:56:53] I love Final Fantasy eight.

[00:56:55] Um, but it's more of a, like a rite of passage of how much, uh, text box clicking can you get through and how many times can the game take.

[00:57:04] They tell you how to play the game while you've been playing the game for, uh, you know, 30 hours already.

[00:57:11] And then they give you a reward tutorial again, which is usually cards or something else.

[00:57:16] So the card, the cards were obnoxious.

[00:57:20] I remember that the car, I hated the card games and that.

[00:57:23] I love triple triad, but I don't need to be told, uh, that the rules have changed and then the back out and then be told that the rules have not changed because I backed out and that the random rule is now abolished.

[00:57:34] Which is essentially just an NPC tutorial telling me that, uh, that the game has changed on me again.

[00:57:40] So, uh, Final Fantasy eight.

[00:57:42] You know, I'd forgotten all of this.

[00:57:45] It's like a little bit of PTSD going on.

[00:57:48] I'm like, Oh my God, that's right.

[00:57:50] I hate it.

[00:57:50] I don't like that game.

[00:57:52] I don't like that game.

[00:57:55] Okay.

[00:57:56] Who else do we got?

[00:57:57] We got, uh, you Jerry monster hunter.

[00:58:02] Yeah.

[00:58:03] Um, I've said it on our, our podcast before that, uh, it took me like six tries to get into monster hunter.

[00:58:12] And it's pretty much because of the, the, the immense amount of tutorials that you have to go through in a monster hunter game.

[00:58:20] And even after I went through them, I was like, I have no idea how to fucking play this game.

[00:58:24] And like, there's so many different tutorials.

[00:58:27] Like every weapon has a tutorial.

[00:58:28] That's like, here's how this weapon works.

[00:58:30] Here's like the, the alternate like things that this weapon does.

[00:58:34] And then there's like all the crafting and just like, there's so many different systems going on in a monster hunter game.

[00:58:41] It's just, I feel like you're, you're constantly doing tutorials through the entire game.

[00:58:47] The only time that I actually finally got into monster hunter is when my cohost Greg, he was like, Hey, monster hunter rise is coming out for PC.

[00:58:57] I want you to get it.

[00:58:58] Cause it's like one of his favorite franchises.

[00:59:00] And I was like, I don't know, man.

[00:59:02] I don't know if I like these games.

[00:59:03] And he was like, okay, here's what you do.

[00:59:05] We load this up.

[00:59:06] Don't fucking read the tutorials.

[00:59:08] And I was like, but I don't know how to play the game.

[00:59:11] And he was like, I'm going to teach you.

[00:59:13] So in a weird way, I, me skipping all of those tutorials actually made me like, that is the ultimate triumph.

[00:59:23] I skipped all the tutorials.

[00:59:25] And then I was like, now I know how to play monster hunter.

[00:59:31] And that's when I started enjoying it.

[00:59:34] I feel like monster hunter is like, cause I never played a series for people who like tutorials though.

[00:59:41] Yeah.

[00:59:41] I mean, also it's a system heavy game, like systems and like systems on systems and making different weapons and armor and what beasts to kill and what parts you need.

[00:59:51] So yeah.

[00:59:52] Do any of you guys like monster hunter?

[00:59:54] Love it actually.

[00:59:56] Yeah.

[00:59:56] Oh, we should play Matt.

[00:59:58] We should.

[00:59:58] I'm very excited for wild monster hunter wilds, I think is the new one.

[01:00:02] Wilds.

[01:00:02] Yeah.

[01:00:02] Yeah.

[01:00:03] But I, I love rise.

[01:00:05] I think a monster hunter wilds is just a conspiracy to sell more PS five pros because we threw on the beta on the PS five and it ran like absolute fucking garbage until Greg discovered that you could turn it on like the performance mode, which made it look really, really bad.

[01:00:21] And then when we played it on PC, it was like, Oh, this, I mean, I don't have like a crazy PC, but like my PC was rocking that game.

[01:00:29] So then I was like, this is just, this is just a way to sell PS five pros.

[01:00:34] Yeah.

[01:00:38] I, I, I, I got into monster hunter, I think with one of the 3ds one, I can't remember which one that was, but since then I've played them and mantra monster hunter world obviously was the one that like really got me as it did most.

[01:00:51] But the tutorials are obnoxious.

[01:00:54] I don't, I wouldn't say they're bad, but they are invasive and obnoxious.

[01:00:59] I mean, they're not as bad as final fantasy eight.

[01:01:01] Let me be clear, but few things are, but they're, but they're bad.

[01:01:06] Okay.

[01:01:06] Okay.

[01:01:07] I played monster hunter three on the Wii U and I liked playing that in the bathroom because then if I had to stop, like if I had to walk away from the TV, it came with me.

[01:01:18] That was one of the advantages of the Wii U is bathroom tutorials.

[01:01:25] All right.

[01:01:26] So Matt, you said, uh, you said Minecraft, Matt.

[01:01:29] I did because I feel like Minecraft is one giant tutorial and it clobbers you with it.

[01:01:37] Like you learn by doing in that game, at least in the original version, I'll admit, I haven't played like the X-Boxified version, like the new launch version, uh, X-Box edition, like after they bought, but the original Mojang, like in a browser window on your computer, like old school Minecraft.

[01:01:55] Like there were a few things that it taught you and showed you, but for the most part, you learned by doing and mostly dying.

[01:02:03] Uh, uh, I think about the first time, you know, you got to start punching trees and then building things, but if you don't know how to build or what to build, there were no in-game guides.

[01:02:11] I believe the modern version does have in-game guides and like, you can pull up like creation wheel and see what makes what, which is great for the new version.

[01:02:20] But the game as it was originally intended was for you to survive and figure shit out on your own.

[01:02:25] And so my thought when thinking about a game that can completely clobber you by its tutorial, like Minecraft was the original Elden Ring as far as like throwing in your world, no idea what the hell you're doing.

[01:02:38] And then watch you get killed by zombies and other creatures.

[01:02:41] So that was my logic for selecting Minecraft for this category.

[01:02:47] I feel like that's, it's kind of like the opposite though. Right. Cause that's like the lack of a tutorial gets you killed.

[01:02:52] I remember the first time I played Minecraft, like I opened it up and I like ran out into the world and I like smacked a couple of rocks.

[01:02:58] I'm like, what is this? Is this even a game? Like why am I hitting rocks?

[01:03:02] I didn't, I didn't even know what I was supposed to be doing.

[01:03:06] Um, that is a good point. I hadn't thought of that way.

[01:03:08] You can, you look at it either way, right? It's, it's a diverse choice.

[01:03:14] I mean, my small children figured out Minecraft without any help whatsoever.

[01:03:18] So if anything gets doing its job correctly, I can find at least 50 like sub 10 year old kids in this city that I live in that could probably play Minecraft better than I can.

[01:03:28] And I was on board early too.

[01:03:30] Are you saying it's a skill issue, Mike?

[01:03:33] I, once again, you're talking to the quest 64 guy.

[01:03:36] Uh, so I am bad at video games.

[01:03:40] Uh, so you don't need to, man, you're getting through dark souls.

[01:03:44] I am. I'm playing dark souls one and two.

[01:03:47] I've nearly completed both of them this year for the first time.

[01:03:51] Uh, wait, you started to without beating two first suck on that.

[01:03:55] And now I'm playing.

[01:03:58] Oh yeah.

[01:03:58] Cause you, you started that one.

[01:03:59] Cause everybody told you it was the worst ones.

[01:04:01] You were like, fuck it.

[01:04:02] I'm starting with the worst.

[01:04:03] Yes, obviously.

[01:04:03] Cause then if you do a vote like a Twitter poll or a blue sky poll after that, you know, I'm never going to get too voted for.

[01:04:09] So you had to start with the one that I wanted to play.

[01:04:12] And then we moved from there.

[01:04:15] All right. All right.

[01:04:16] Okay.

[01:04:17] And so, uh, we're down to our last, our last entry here and it's the great plateau breath of the wild by Anthony.

[01:04:25] So, okay.

[01:04:26] Well, I think I went in a different direction with this one, but I chose the great plateau because to me, it personifies exactly how actual life works.

[01:04:35] You're born into the world.

[01:04:37] There's not a lot of danger, but maybe you're a kid and you climb up a tree and you fall down and you're fucking dead.

[01:04:42] Well, you come around the corner and there's a stranger around that building and that kills you.

[01:04:47] And then it just kind of felt like life.

[01:04:50] There's a hundred different ways for you to fuck it up.

[01:04:52] And the minute you get out of childhood off that great plateau, you get to become a gigantic success or you get killed again.

[01:04:58] It just felt like an explanation of how life goes.

[01:05:03] Everything's dangerous.

[01:05:03] You're probably going to screw up.

[01:05:04] And if you fall out of a tree, you die young.

[01:05:07] Okay.

[01:05:07] So like a school of hard knocks kind of tutorial.

[01:05:10] The American dream.

[01:05:11] Exactly.

[01:05:11] Yeah.

[01:05:11] Very, very Elden Ring again.

[01:05:13] Yeah.

[01:05:13] You go up into the cold area with not, with no clothes on and you die of, you know, frostbite that happens all the time.

[01:05:23] So it just seemed like a really good explanation as to what not to do in life.

[01:05:28] Oh, I see.

[01:05:29] So it, the game was a tutorial for actual expectations.

[01:05:34] So actual expectations, maybe you jump off the plateau and your success.

[01:05:38] Maybe you jump off the plateau and you get a college degree and a lot of debt.

[01:05:41] And suddenly you're living in a single wide trailer out near O'Hare because your wife left you.

[01:05:45] And the best thing you can do is hit moblins with your stick.

[01:05:50] I mean, you have to, you have to get money in the game to buy a house and then Link has to decorate the house with stuff.

[01:05:55] But maybe the mortgage rates in the high rule are a little too high and Link just rents his whole life and never gets to retire because he doesn't build up equity and he dies working in a factory.

[01:06:05] Which is he would have married Dr.

[01:06:06] Sounds clever.

[01:06:10] I'm bringing it back.

[01:06:13] Link, what are you doing with that burlap sap, man?

[01:06:16] So I maybe misunderstood the category slightly.

[01:06:19] All right.

[01:06:20] All right.

[01:06:21] Well, that got dark, but it was still fun.

[01:06:26] I'm sorry it wasn't Astro Bot.

[01:06:29] So I think the serious contenders here and I don't want to disqualify, but let's see if we agree.

[01:06:35] I think the serious ones are going to be probably Monster Hunter.

[01:06:41] Of course, Final Fantasy eight and Hearthstone, but it's I think we all know Final Fantasy eight is probably the most relatable here.

[01:06:51] Yeah, I'm inclined to agree.

[01:06:52] I think I sort of understood the category, but mostly also it's hard to be Final Fantasy eight like the worst Final Fantasy game, the worst tutorials ever created.

[01:07:02] But you you said it Mike you literally sit down at a desk after doing a bunch of tutorials to read more tutorials.

[01:07:08] Well, that's how I replayed.

[01:07:09] It's to make you forget your supposed where you learn that the guardian forces make you forget everything, which is the point of the game is to forget right.

[01:07:17] Right. Yeah, like I replayed the HD version on the switch this year.

[01:07:22] Not all of it.

[01:07:23] I'm not a sicko.

[01:07:24] I played like the first couple of hours and like I was like, God, this game would be so great if it weren't for all the things in my way to get to the good game that's there.

[01:07:32] Like some of the combat, the story, all that stuff could be fun and really well done.

[01:07:36] But then there's tutorials tutorials, a bad card game and draw system and more tutorials.

[01:07:43] Yeah, I think I'm in with Mike on this one.

[01:07:46] I think Final Fantasy, though I do agree, Jamie, like the problem with Hearthstone and games like it, like a lot of those free to play Blizzard games.

[01:07:53] Here's the storm had the same problem.

[01:07:55] Like you could play against other people or you could play against the computers and do a tutorial and then get a bunch of free stuff for doing that.

[01:08:03] And like, then why would you do anything else?

[01:08:05] You don't have to deal with the randos and you can get stuff.

[01:08:08] I'm doing that with Pokemon.

[01:08:09] They just try to get you like this.

[01:08:11] Yeah, basically the exact same game.

[01:08:13] They try to lure you into the game, right?

[01:08:16] Like they want to give you something.

[01:08:17] So you like try out the game.

[01:08:18] But like the tutorial is so unpleasant and overly like wordy that you're just like, I'm never going to play.

[01:08:23] This is terrible.

[01:08:24] So you just like give up on the game.

[01:08:25] Like you're like, I got my stuff up out of here.

[01:08:28] I get some of this like cumbersome.

[01:08:32] Yeah, like I don't know if it comes down to Final Fantasy eight, Monster Hunter and Hearthstone.

[01:08:37] I don't know.

[01:08:39] I like I've played Final Fantasy eight and Monster Hunter games.

[01:08:42] I have not played Hearthstone.

[01:08:43] So I it sounds like the it would be I mean, if the category is about the triumph of getting over a tutorial.

[01:08:56] Then if that's what you're saying like that.

[01:08:59] Well, you even framed it in a way that like you did the tutorial to get shit.

[01:09:04] So it was like there was a triumph to actually just doing a tutorial just so you could get some shit.

[01:09:09] Whereas like Final Fantasy eight just is a barrage of tutorials from the beginning to the end of the game.

[01:09:18] Like that could be either or it's like, do you quit because you can't be triumphant over the tutorials?

[01:09:26] Or do you finally beat the entire game and go, man, I've really enjoyed getting through all the tutorials in this game.

[01:09:32] That's why none of us.

[01:09:33] And then there's for Matt just said it.

[01:09:35] We just stop.

[01:09:35] You just stop after the tutorials.

[01:09:37] Like I know where this game is going now.

[01:09:39] Like I've read all the text.

[01:09:40] I know we got to kill the sorceress.

[01:09:42] We just quit.

[01:09:43] You just stop and then you're done.

[01:09:45] Play some more triple triad.

[01:09:47] Then you go home.

[01:09:49] Yeah, the idea is that the game itself is the reward like getting to actual gameplay is kind of the reward for getting through it.

[01:09:55] It's kind of like eating a lobster, you know, like you just bite the thing.

[01:09:58] You finally get like a tiny piece of meat that you can eat.

[01:10:01] So it's that kind of thing.

[01:10:04] So I think that Final Fantasy is in that category, right?

[01:10:08] Like because you're just trying to get to the gameplay and all you're doing is like being taught things and taught things and taught things.

[01:10:13] You're like, when do I get to like roam the world and do things on my own without hand holding?

[01:10:18] So, right.

[01:10:19] So that's my point is that with Final Fantasy eight, how many people just straight up like like Matt said, give up because they're like, oh, God, I forgot how many fucking tutorials are.

[01:10:31] So you don't end up being triumphant.

[01:10:33] Whereas in my case, talking about monster hunter, it was when somebody said, don't fucking read those tutorials.

[01:10:40] Just don't read them.

[01:10:41] I'm going to teach you how to play the game myself.

[01:10:43] And then I was like, I actually like the game now.

[01:10:46] Like that to me, that's the most triumphant moment is like throwing away the tutorials.

[01:10:51] You can't throw away the tutorials and Final Fantasy eight.

[01:10:53] If you've never played Final Fantasy eight, you will struggle with that game.

[01:10:58] If you do not read any of those tutorials, you got to read some of them regardless.

[01:11:03] Like I read the tutorials.

[01:11:06] I still don't fucking understand how the junction system works fully.

[01:11:10] So say we all.

[01:11:13] I guess that's a that's an interesting point.

[01:11:15] Like, how do we define the category?

[01:11:17] Is it like getting is like actually getting something for the tutorial or is it like just giving up?

[01:11:22] Like which one beat the most people?

[01:11:25] I would say like which one probably like stopped the most people from actually encountering the game.

[01:11:29] But Jerry's describing a fantasy monster hunter player, though.

[01:11:33] Like this person doesn't exist.

[01:11:34] People who go in the monster hunter want to item manage and build campfires and drink hot drinks so they can go fight cold monsters and know what their stat boosts are.

[01:11:46] Like Jerry's playing the game wrong.

[01:11:47] Let's just be let's just be clear.

[01:11:49] Yeah, he's doing it wrong.

[01:11:51] So his payoff Mike is hollow.

[01:11:53] Yeah, Mike's correct.

[01:11:54] Also, I feel like like the based on how the category was explained to me here versus what I thought it was.

[01:12:01] I think Final Fantasy eight also fits the bill because it's you.

[01:12:04] The tutorial is triump thing over the player.

[01:12:06] It is triumphant over the player.

[01:12:09] That's the category.

[01:12:09] And like, so to me, you Jerry, you conquered the tutorial.

[01:12:14] You just ignored the fucker and kept going.

[01:12:17] Yeah.

[01:12:17] Whereas like I would say if you can skip it, it's not it's not a bad tutorial.

[01:12:22] Right.

[01:12:22] If it's a skippable tutorial, then it's not it's not too aggressive.

[01:12:26] Right.

[01:12:26] You can mash through them.

[01:12:28] Now.

[01:12:29] Hang on.

[01:12:29] Here's an interesting thing.

[01:12:31] Anthony, you're kind of the odd one out on this conversation as it stands.

[01:12:36] Where is your head at with with these?

[01:12:39] So what before?

[01:12:40] Hold on.

[01:12:41] Sorry to cut you off.

[01:12:42] But before we get into that, are you okay bowing out?

[01:12:44] I'm fine bowing out.

[01:12:46] You did make an interesting point.

[01:12:48] But where are we at?

[01:12:50] Where's your head?

[01:12:51] My vote is 100% with Final Fantasy because I will tell you right now, I did not beat that

[01:12:56] game and I did not play a Final Fantasy game until 13.

[01:12:59] And it's only because a friend of mine just told me I absolutely had to play it.

[01:13:03] It was one of his favorite games of all time.

[01:13:05] And I did not finish that one.

[01:13:06] And those are the last two Final Fantasy games I played.

[01:13:09] And I still today will say it.

[01:13:11] I think it's a shit series.

[01:13:13] I don't like it.

[01:13:14] It's garbage.

[01:13:15] Doesn't let you play the game.

[01:13:16] Final Fantasy itself.

[01:13:17] Final Fantasy with all the tutorials in it is just shit.

[01:13:20] They forgot to put a video game in the game.

[01:13:23] Just play Final Fantasy one.

[01:13:25] Well, yeah, sure.

[01:13:25] The 16-bit ones.

[01:13:27] But after seven, it's like they forgot to put the video game in.

[01:13:32] Someone was so interested in like being a teacher and hearing their own voice that

[01:13:35] they're just like, yeah, fuck it.

[01:13:37] We don't need a game in there.

[01:13:38] They'll just learn.

[01:13:39] Yeah, I would argue that like 10 and 12 and I liked 16 a lot, but it was also an

[01:13:47] action game with a lot less tutorials.

[01:13:48] Well, yeah, that's outside the realm.

[01:13:51] I mean, the traditional RPG.

[01:13:53] I'm going to get at least two death threats by saying that I can't do it.

[01:13:56] They're going to come in.

[01:13:56] I mean, you're also the arcade guy talking about modern Final Fantasies.

[01:14:00] What the hell do you know?

[01:14:01] Yeah, but I'm planting my flag on that one.

[01:14:03] Final Fantasy is a bad RPG series.

[01:14:07] Now.

[01:14:10] I can see to.

[01:14:12] I can see to Final Fantasy as well.

[01:14:14] Like, and when someone shoots me in the back like that CEO, you're going to know why I'm

[01:14:18] going to definitely get shot in the back because of that.

[01:14:20] Are you Anthony that hates Final Fantasy?

[01:14:23] Why?

[01:14:23] Yes, I am cow.

[01:14:25] I mean, we have to be on this show because of Final Fantasy 14 that started this podcast.

[01:14:29] So if we're damning any Final Fantasy game, it's that one.

[01:14:33] That's true.

[01:14:33] Yeah, that's true.

[01:14:34] That's true.

[01:14:34] You know what?

[01:14:35] Bless you for knowing that.

[01:14:38] Certified Jerry hater.

[01:14:39] I have my whole list of Jerry things over here.

[01:14:42] There you go.

[01:14:43] He knows all my.

[01:14:44] He's like a stalker.

[01:14:45] You might call it gerrymandering.

[01:14:46] Get it?

[01:14:47] Oh, hey, oh.

[01:14:49] I'll see myself out.

[01:14:50] I think we should.

[01:14:50] I think we should have a pun off between Matt and Jamie.

[01:14:54] I mean, I mean, I welcome the competition, but I think so.

[01:14:58] It sounds like to me that Final Fantasy eight takes.

[01:15:00] I think Final Fantasy.

[01:15:01] Yeah.

[01:15:02] Mike, congratulations.

[01:15:04] Bless y'all.

[01:15:08] How are those drinks going down?

[01:15:11] Exceptionally.

[01:15:14] Excessively.

[01:15:15] Yes, exactly.

[01:15:16] Yeah.

[01:15:18] Yeah.

[01:15:18] Why don't we take a quick, quick break, refresh ourselves here a little bit, and then come

[01:15:23] back for the final, the Final Fantasy, if you will.

[01:15:27] Sounds good.

[01:15:28] Sounds good.

[01:15:29] All right.

[01:15:36] All right.

[01:15:37] We are back.

[01:15:39] Everybody's refreshed.

[01:15:40] We are ready to, ready to clue this up with the final award presented by Mike himself.

[01:15:47] Mike, take it away, please.

[01:15:51] So honorary, I just found out, you know, today that Anthony was from Chicago.

[01:15:55] So also Midwest, but wrong.

[01:15:58] Obviously wrong.

[01:16:01] But my category is most Midwest game.

[01:16:04] So Jamie selected Bass Pro Shops to hunt.

[01:16:08] Anthony selected Cabela's Big Game Hunter, Pro Hunts.

[01:16:12] Matt selected Duck Paradox.

[01:16:15] Jerry selected another wrong answer, Kukuyomi Considerate.

[01:16:19] And I selected Grimace's Birthday on the Game Boy Color.

[01:16:24] Who would like to go first and be wrong?

[01:16:27] I mean, you, you flat out told me that I'm wrong.

[01:16:30] So I guess I'll, I'll try to defend my case here.

[01:16:33] From what I know of the Midwest, maybe not Chicago Midwest, but like from like, and I literally just called you an honorary Canadian.

[01:16:45] And that's kind of what the Midwest to me is, is like the honorary Canadians.

[01:16:52] Because you guys are right there.

[01:16:54] Like you're, you're along the board.

[01:16:55] I mean, fuck man.

[01:16:56] You guys even sort of sound like Canadians sometimes.

[01:17:00] And this game, I don't know if you guys know what this game is.

[01:17:03] It's a game that was only released in Japan for a bit.

[01:17:08] I think they ended up bringing it to, to North America on Switch.

[01:17:13] And it's, I don't know how to pronounce the first part of it, but it's like Kukuyomi Considerate.

[01:17:19] And what it is, is like, it's like a WarioWare game where you're just being considerate to people.

[01:17:24] So you're like, oh, let me shuffle over on this subway to let somebody else sit down.

[01:17:30] And then you're like, I'm sorry, why don't you sit down?

[01:17:34] So it's just like apologizing to people a lot and like holding doors for people and just being, being overly nice and apologizing for everything.

[01:17:45] I appreciate the sentiment.

[01:17:47] But again, I don't, I don't know.

[01:17:48] That is wrong.

[01:17:51] You're wrong.

[01:17:53] I was, I was trying to waffle and then telling me was wrong, but I'm at the, I appreciate extending the olive branch earlier because I feel like, you know,

[01:18:00] I feel like we're coming together now on Jerry just constantly being wrong.

[01:18:04] So, well, I'll just, I'll show my category out and not take a single goddamn win on this.

[01:18:10] And that's fine.

[01:18:10] That's fine.

[01:18:11] I came into this knowing that I could possibly lose every single category.

[01:18:15] And so I did.

[01:18:16] So I am, I am respectfully tapping my, my nomination out of the race.

[01:18:23] I'll defend myself next.

[01:18:25] Cause I don't need a lot of time.

[01:18:27] Duck paradox is published by Midwest games.

[01:18:32] Duck paradox is published by Midwest games.

[01:18:38] Mike drop.

[01:18:39] You can't get any more Midwest than a company called Midwest games.

[01:18:44] It's in the name.

[01:18:45] Uh, I know because midway games exist in Chicago and midway is right here and they've been around longer.

[01:18:51] So really the most Midwest game would name the last game midway made.

[01:18:57] Oh God.

[01:18:58] I was just playing it on.

[01:19:01] Come on.

[01:19:02] Arcade guy.

[01:19:03] What's the last midway game you play.

[01:19:06] I was a really shitty.

[01:19:07] I I'll, I'll note in a minute.

[01:19:08] Okay.

[01:19:12] Current active, current active publisher making games, uh, from all over the Midwest.

[01:19:18] They did blitz the league too.

[01:19:20] And NFL football is pretty Midwest.

[01:19:22] I, that was a pretty late midway game.

[01:19:24] So I mean, that was pretty late.

[01:19:26] Yeah.

[01:19:27] It wasn't very good either, but you know, either is the Midwest.

[01:19:32] True to form.

[01:19:36] Hmm.

[01:19:37] All right.

[01:19:38] All right.

[01:19:38] I guess.

[01:19:39] Okay.

[01:19:40] No, I mean, mine is not that interesting, but it is pretty Midwestern.

[01:19:45] And so like my first thought was when you said Midwest, the first thing I thought of was cheese curds.

[01:19:49] And I was like, there's no games about cheese curds.

[01:19:52] So like the next thing I thought of was like stuffed fish and like moose heads and stuff on the wall and big guns everywhere.

[01:20:00] Like that's what I think of when I think of Midwest.

[01:20:02] And so like one game that I played for like testing some system was, uh, was the best best.

[01:20:09] It was a best pro shop.

[01:20:11] Like they made their own game, like the best, like the shop bass pro.

[01:20:14] Uh, and it was a hunting game by them.

[01:20:16] So it's got like fishing and hunting, no cheese curds though.

[01:20:19] So I had like two out of three of the Midwestern themes that I have in my head in that particular.

[01:20:25] It's pretty funny actually, because when, when I seen Mike's thing, the first thing I looked up was games with cheese in them.

[01:20:35] That's not fair either though, because as someone who grew up in Vermont and lives in the Midwest, I want to equivocally say Midwestern cheese is garbage.

[01:20:43] The best cheeses in Vermont.

[01:20:45] So just ignore cheese curds.

[01:20:46] They're terrible.

[01:20:47] Forget that final fantasy.

[01:20:49] Like this is the one that's going to end you.

[01:20:55] I would agree, but my husband can hear me right now.

[01:20:58] So I can't, I can't say that the amount is better than I'm safe.

[01:21:04] I'm safe here.

[01:21:05] Don't worry.

[01:21:06] Blink twice.

[01:21:07] Yeah.

[01:21:08] Blink twice.

[01:21:09] If you agree.

[01:21:15] Okay.

[01:21:16] I guess I will defend mine then.

[01:21:18] And it makes perfect logical sense to me.

[01:21:21] It's about people who have way too many firearms that go out into the woods and shoot animals, ignore all tag limits whatsoever and do whatever they want.

[01:21:32] And when I usually play it, I'm a little drunk, which is how hunting usually goes.

[01:21:36] And that just me felt perfectly appropriate for the Midwest.

[01:21:40] High caliber weapons with alcohol mixed with not paying attention to the rules.

[01:21:44] Because I live in Chicago and that's literally kind of what I see all the time.

[01:21:50] High caliber weapons, alcohol and wanton violence.

[01:21:54] So it just fit perfectly for me.

[01:21:57] And camouflage.

[01:21:58] A lot of camouflage.

[01:22:00] Understood.

[01:22:01] Yeah.

[01:22:01] I've, I've only ever visited one Midwest state.

[01:22:07] Um, and it was for work, but I did go to Wisconsin.

[01:22:11] I'm sorry.

[01:22:12] What?

[01:22:13] Speaking of cheese.

[01:22:15] Yes.

[01:22:16] Yes.

[01:22:16] There were.

[01:22:17] That's what I mean.

[01:22:18] Like, I remember being like, do they like cheese here?

[01:22:21] And they were like, well, yeah, they really fucking like cheese.

[01:22:23] And I was like, really?

[01:22:24] And like, it was not a joke.

[01:22:27] Like everywhere I went, I was like, you want some cheese with that?

[01:22:29] I was like, yeah, this is a steak.

[01:22:32] So yes, obviously I want cheese.

[01:22:35] Correct.

[01:22:35] Yeah.

[01:22:38] This is a, this is a tuna salad.

[01:22:40] You want that cheese?

[01:22:41] Um, but yeah, it like, it's just so funny to me that Jamie, the first thing you thought

[01:22:48] of was finding a game with cheese.

[01:22:50] And I also, I don't know why the first thing that came to mind was Conquer's bad

[01:22:53] fur day for some reason.

[01:22:55] Cause I was just like, no, I get it.

[01:22:56] No, honestly.

[01:22:57] Yeah.

[01:22:59] Yeah.

[01:23:01] So I'm not crazy, right?

[01:23:02] Like there's something about that.

[01:23:03] No, we all wake up like that.

[01:23:05] Anthony included.

[01:23:05] We, I mean, we all feel like, can I change my, can I change my nomination to Conquer's

[01:23:11] bad for a win?

[01:23:12] You cannot too late.

[01:23:14] Yeah.

[01:23:15] I mean, I did eat cheese like an hour before.

[01:23:21] See, you're denying the cheese thing.

[01:23:23] Yeah.

[01:23:24] I'm just saying the cheese is better in the East coast.

[01:23:27] Not that I don't like cheese.

[01:23:28] I just don't like the Western cheese.

[01:23:30] Oh, I'm curious that you, that you pick on the cheese and yet you consume it.

[01:23:35] So that's, that's true.

[01:23:37] I mean, there's, there's no bad cheese.

[01:23:39] There's just better cheese.

[01:23:40] That's true.

[01:23:40] That's true.

[01:23:41] It's like pizza.

[01:23:42] Pizza is best in New York, but it's fine in other places.

[01:23:45] Cause it's still.

[01:23:46] Little Caesars.

[01:23:47] Jamie, we're best friends.

[01:23:48] Little Caesars.

[01:23:49] Jamie, you live in New York.

[01:23:51] We're going to fight.

[01:23:51] You should know better.

[01:23:52] I'm just, no, I'm arguing that there is bad pizza.

[01:23:55] Oh, I thought you were like, Little Caesars is my thing.

[01:23:59] No, no, no.

[01:24:00] No, I'm never.

[01:24:01] I'm never.

[01:24:02] I like how you're like backing away.

[01:24:04] Like, oh God, no.

[01:24:06] Somebody who gets reposts from Little Caesars based on my content.

[01:24:10] Little Caesars forever.

[01:24:17] Oh man.

[01:24:18] The offense that you took to that little Caesars.

[01:24:21] This is, this is how I know Jamie is my people.

[01:24:24] Yeah.

[01:24:24] That's, that was the correct response.

[01:24:26] You're not going to be Brooklyn pizza.

[01:24:28] I'm sorry.

[01:24:28] No.

[01:24:29] Undefeated.

[01:24:31] Hmm.

[01:24:32] Yeah.

[01:24:32] I need to, I need to try that out sometime.

[01:24:35] Um.

[01:24:36] Visit.

[01:24:36] Okay.

[01:24:37] So.

[01:24:37] Visit both of us.

[01:24:38] Yeah, totally.

[01:24:40] Yes.

[01:24:40] Yes.

[01:24:41] I definitely want to do that.

[01:24:42] Like for realsies.

[01:24:44] Now for realsies, Mike, what the fuck?

[01:24:46] Grimace's birthday.

[01:24:47] Yes.

[01:24:48] So as the foremost expert on being Midwestern on this panel, I can assure you that a game

[01:24:56] about a definitely not overweight skateboarder who only eats his fast food items and needs

[01:25:01] to round up his dipshit friends for his own fucking birthday party is peak Midwest energy.

[01:25:07] Like you, you guys, you guys have been right, but you need to be more right.

[01:25:12] And I'm here to educate you.

[01:25:13] So also Wisconsin in terms of production is the number two dairy state, the number nine

[01:25:19] beef state, the number three beef or potato state and the runaway number one, uh, alcoholism

[01:25:26] state in the country.

[01:25:27] Uh, so if you've ever seen.

[01:25:30] Why you've already drank like a fucking.

[01:25:33] Yeah.

[01:25:33] Yeah.

[01:25:34] Hard to argue with the.

[01:25:35] If you've ever seen the grimmest shake on people, you know how that one applies to Wisconsinites.

[01:25:41] Uh, Wisconsin is keeping McDonald's in business and the grimace is our one true God.

[01:25:50] That is not true.

[01:25:51] The man from Culver's is your number one.

[01:25:54] That's in different.

[01:25:54] That's in other states.

[01:25:56] Like Minnesota has Culver's.

[01:25:59] Oh, we're.

[01:26:00] We are keeping McDonald's in all the states with our production of alcoholics and the, the

[01:26:10] materials needed for McDonald's food products.

[01:26:13] I don't buy this at all.

[01:26:15] And he's missing statistic 50th in average intelligence because you don't think that you're

[01:26:20] wrong.

[01:26:21] McDonald's once again.

[01:26:23] No, it's, it's wrong.

[01:26:25] It's not Midwestern.

[01:26:27] Grimace lives like somewhere in Staten Island somewhere.

[01:26:30] He's probably a.

[01:26:31] Grimace lives in the shed behind McDonald's.

[01:26:33] And if you get a McFlurry on five straight days, uh, without the machine breaking, they

[01:26:38] call it a McTurbo.

[01:26:39] And then they let you see the shed where the Grimace lives, which once again, proves

[01:26:43] you're not Midwestern.

[01:26:44] If you don't know that.

[01:26:45] So it's not.

[01:26:47] No, I, I vehemently refuse that the most Midwestern game ever is Grimace's birthday because it

[01:26:53] has overeating and cheese.

[01:26:55] Have you ever been to Florida?

[01:26:56] No.

[01:26:57] Who goes to Florida?

[01:26:59] Why would I want to go there?

[01:27:01] I had to go for work once.

[01:27:02] It was terrible.

[01:27:04] We go to California instead.

[01:27:07] So overconsumption of alcohol and cheese is not just in Wisconsin.

[01:27:14] I can't stand by it.

[01:27:16] I refuse.

[01:27:16] No, I mean, they are defined by it though.

[01:27:19] Yeah.

[01:27:20] I mean, I will also say, you know, just to say it again, my game is published by Midwest

[01:27:25] games.

[01:27:26] Just, just saying.

[01:27:28] Anytime that the Midwest makes national news, is it for cheese or for gunshots?

[01:27:33] It is Chicago and it is for gunshots.

[01:27:36] If you watch the news in the East coast or the West coast and the Midwest appears, it's

[01:27:41] because someone got shot in my city.

[01:27:43] Not because of some cheese, curds and Grimmis.

[01:27:45] It's not just in your city.

[01:27:46] Wait, is Flint Michigan in the Midwest?

[01:27:47] We're also really good at shooting kids in schools too.

[01:27:50] So it's not just in their city.

[01:27:52] That's always the Midwest.

[01:27:55] I mean, I shouldn't tell this joke.

[01:27:58] No, you should.

[01:28:00] Our school, our school child body count on my block this year is one.

[01:28:05] So is that, is that a good record?

[01:28:07] No, it's a Midwest record.

[01:28:09] It's one more than last year who got personally got shot in front of my house and died.

[01:28:14] Holy shit.

[01:28:15] In front of your house.

[01:28:16] Yeah.

[01:28:16] My mom called me.

[01:28:17] She's like, I saw your house on the news.

[01:28:19] I'm like, no, you didn't.

[01:28:20] She's like, no, I did.

[01:28:21] You got shot in front of your house.

[01:28:23] I'm like, she's like, I saw your car in the live shoot.

[01:28:25] I'm like, yeah, you're correct.

[01:28:27] That was in front of our house.

[01:28:30] Yeah.

[01:28:30] The body's still there.

[01:28:31] Shit.

[01:28:32] As, as once again, as Midwestern, I can corroborate this.

[01:28:35] We have a Mexican restaurant down the street and there's been three shootings there in the

[01:28:39] last year and a half, just at that restaurant.

[01:28:42] So.

[01:28:43] Taco Bell doesn't count as Mexican.

[01:28:47] And it's the least south of the border thing you've ever seen in your life.

[01:28:51] So.

[01:28:52] The reason we eat McDonald's is because, uh, Hispanic food in Wisconsin is, is not the,

[01:28:58] is not the thing we, that's not the get.

[01:29:00] So.

[01:29:02] So, okay.

[01:29:03] As far as nominations go here.

[01:29:05] Uh, I, I say we let the two Midwesterners fight this one out.

[01:29:13] Okay.

[01:29:14] Not getting in the middle of that.

[01:29:16] Yeah.

[01:29:16] Yeah.

[01:29:18] Yeah.

[01:29:19] Because, well, I mean, you've both already said that you're, you guys are never wrong.

[01:29:23] So this is, this might be interesting.

[01:29:26] My first mistake was bringing logic to a Midwest game fight.

[01:29:32] So that I was doomed to fail.

[01:29:34] New Yorkers got a point to it with this.

[01:29:37] I challenge you to this now.

[01:29:39] Super ghost is a Canadian show.

[01:29:41] So some Canadians, I mean, I, I get to, to my coworker today as I'm making like the, the

[01:29:48] doc, she was like, the fuck does Midwest game mean?

[01:29:51] And funny enough, she was like, is that a game company?

[01:29:57] So, I mean, Matt, you would have won that if she was deciding cause you'd have been like,

[01:30:01] yeah, that's, that is the most, like, that is the Midwest game.

[01:30:05] Um, that's why you don't live here.

[01:30:07] But, but can you explain what would make a most Midwest game?

[01:30:13] Now, before you do that, I'm not going to let Anthony, I'm not going to let Mike explain

[01:30:18] this Jamie and Matt, I want you to explain what would make the most Midwest game.

[01:30:25] Okay.

[01:30:27] I mean, I've already, I've already.

[01:30:29] So the things I think of when I go to Wisconsin, okay.

[01:30:32] This is, this is the heart of the Midwest to me is like Wisconsin ish area.

[01:30:37] Right.

[01:30:38] And I think of cheese.

[01:30:40] We already established that.

[01:30:41] I think of cheap beer, not good beer, cheap beer, like Miller.

[01:30:45] Right.

[01:30:45] They make it there.

[01:30:47] That's what Anthony also have good beer, but no, I mean, you don't come here for that.

[01:30:51] Understood.

[01:30:52] The Midwest has the best beer in the country.

[01:30:55] Okay.

[01:30:55] So, so inexpensive beer.

[01:30:57] We have all beers.

[01:30:58] That's the point.

[01:30:59] When I, when I went there, one of the activities that I was presented with was shooting guns at a range.

[01:31:05] I was like, here, here's a shotgun, learn to use it.

[01:31:07] I was like, okay, that sounds fun.

[01:31:09] So guns are definitely up on the list.

[01:31:12] There's like, there's like heads of things everywhere.

[01:31:14] There's like heads of animals on like every building.

[01:31:17] So like you go to like a diner, there's like six moose heads on the wall.

[01:31:20] So like stuffed animals and hunting definitely there.

[01:31:23] And there's fish mixed in too.

[01:31:25] So fishing.

[01:31:26] And like camo clothing.

[01:31:28] There's lots of camo clothing mixed in there.

[01:31:31] Donuts maybe.

[01:31:32] There's a, there's a high donut consumption in the area I've seen.

[01:31:35] That's also true.

[01:31:36] We're like our high fat foods.

[01:31:37] It's true.

[01:31:38] No one lives past 60 here.

[01:31:40] We're not trying to.

[01:31:41] These are my impressions.

[01:31:42] We live fast.

[01:31:43] Not long.

[01:31:44] Correct.

[01:31:46] My, my husband is flipping me the bird right now.

[01:31:50] That's how you know it's accurate though.

[01:31:53] Exactly.

[01:31:53] I've touched a nerve.

[01:31:55] I've touched a nerve.

[01:31:56] So, um, so I don't know.

[01:31:59] I'm leaning.

[01:31:59] I'm grimace.

[01:32:01] I, I, I, I'd have to argue that grimace is definitely like a Florida, Texas, Tennessee

[01:32:06] kind of vibe, you know, the fast food and the, all that business.

[01:32:10] That's, that's very Southern.

[01:32:12] That's very Southern, Northern Midwestern.

[01:32:13] I have to say.

[01:32:14] Although there's a Venn diagram.

[01:32:19] Definitely a Venn diagram between the South and the Midwest.

[01:32:22] So.

[01:32:22] Yeah, that's true.

[01:32:23] I mean, I'm inclined to agree with Jamie mostly.

[01:32:27] I think that I will say for Mike's choice, it's requires a little more brain power to

[01:32:34] get there, which I would then also say probably based on Mike's own rules disqualify it because

[01:32:39] brain power is not something that we first think of when it comes to the Midwest.

[01:32:44] So I think I also have to lean for Anthony's choice though.

[01:32:48] I don't want to give him two wins, but at this point someone's getting two wins.

[01:32:51] And, uh, I, I think that like, like the Cabela's series as a whole, like I absolutely think of

[01:32:58] the Midwest and I used to sell video games.

[01:33:00] I used to work at a game shop and anyone who came in to buy one of those PS2 games,

[01:33:05] cause there were a lot of Cabela's PS2 games back in the day was always like had a Midwestern

[01:33:10] accent was like wearing camo and a trucker hat.

[01:33:13] And yeah, I think I'm also leaning towards that choice as well.

[01:33:18] As a rebuttal though, I would like to say that the people that you were selling those games

[01:33:22] to were probably from Maine, which is where the corporate headquarters of Cabela's is not

[01:33:26] in the Midwest, by the way.

[01:33:27] Fair.

[01:33:28] Fair.

[01:33:29] If you think about it though, Cabela's itself is like the Epcot center of the Midwest.

[01:33:34] Like you walk in there and it's like, you're transported.

[01:33:36] It's not even like Southern Wisconsin.

[01:33:39] It's just like McDonald's where they just sprout up everywhere and Midwesterners flock

[01:33:43] because we have nothing else to do, but drink and it brings you there.

[01:33:47] It brings you there in spirit.

[01:33:49] Yeah.

[01:33:49] It sounds like you just said out loud that McDonald's is not a Midwestern thing.

[01:33:52] You just flocked there because it showed up.

[01:33:53] It is.

[01:33:54] But Cabela's is the McDonald's of gun ownership.

[01:33:58] I would argue.

[01:34:00] Correct.

[01:34:04] Cabela's is the perfect Midwestern game because all it does is involve shooting people and

[01:34:09] not paying attention to the rules.

[01:34:10] You can shoot eight deer in a row in 10 minutes when you're playing that game and the game warden's

[01:34:15] not around.

[01:34:16] It doesn't matter.

[01:34:16] And what would a Midwestern or do if there was no game warden at eight deer out in the field?

[01:34:21] He'd shoot every last goddamn one of them.

[01:34:23] That's my case.

[01:34:24] But not before getting drunk and having breakfast at McDonald's.

[01:34:27] We don't even go out in the field without that.

[01:34:29] Like you don't go out dry.

[01:34:33] We clearly have never grown up in Vermont because the only thing you bring out with you is alcohol.

[01:34:37] Well, yeah, food.

[01:34:39] You can't drive out there sober.

[01:34:42] So here's what I'll motion to do.

[01:34:45] Okay.

[01:34:45] Just because it's the game.

[01:34:47] It's the anti game of the year awards.

[01:34:49] It's it's fucking insane.

[01:34:50] This is never a typical award show.

[01:34:54] So here's what I say we do.

[01:34:57] We call this grimace is big game hunter pro hunts and Anthony and Mike both win.

[01:35:06] Yeah, but then I have to let someone from Wisconsin be better than Chicago.

[01:35:10] I don't know.

[01:35:11] And I think if they don't like it, that's even more of a reason to agree to it.

[01:35:14] So yeah, exactly.

[01:35:15] Yeah, because if they're both like, no, I don't want that.

[01:35:18] I'm not sure about this life.

[01:35:19] Just FYI.

[01:35:22] Okay, I'll put out an olive branch.

[01:35:25] What do you put in your Bloody Mary?

[01:35:27] Answer me that question.

[01:35:28] We'll see how close you really are.

[01:35:29] Fucking gross.

[01:35:29] I don't drink tomatoes.

[01:35:31] This is what's the bloody Caesar.

[01:35:34] It's a bloody Caesar.

[01:35:35] Yeah, you don't drink with but that's all you guys drink up there is brand old fashions.

[01:35:39] Yeah, brand old fashions because it's alcohol and alcohol.

[01:35:42] Bloody Mary's that's like that's like positive calories and I can't consume that.

[01:35:46] So that's like, there's vegetables in that.

[01:35:51] God forbid Mike eats a vegetable.

[01:35:54] I actually like to eat them.

[01:35:54] I just don't have to drink them.

[01:35:56] That's that's like eggnog.

[01:35:58] Who drinks eggs?

[01:35:59] It's basically soup at that point.

[01:36:00] Yeah.

[01:36:01] It's like gazpacho that gets me drunk and I just give me the gazpacho and the vodka separate.

[01:36:06] Please.

[01:36:06] Thank you.

[01:36:09] I guess we can call it a draw even if I still think Griffith Grimace lives in Boca Raton down

[01:36:14] in Florida.

[01:36:15] Well, we could just think about this.

[01:36:17] This is our second.

[01:36:18] No, go ahead.

[01:36:19] This is our second opportunity for a wonderful game hack.

[01:36:22] It is.

[01:36:23] That's a big game.

[01:36:26] Is Grimace hunting or is he being hunted?

[01:36:30] Can Grimace hunt Grimace?

[01:36:32] Can it be both?

[01:36:33] Why not both?

[01:36:34] Why not both?

[01:36:35] Yeah.

[01:36:36] Like purple and orange Grimaces.

[01:36:38] Yeah.

[01:36:39] It's an NES game.

[01:36:40] You know, there's like game A and game B.

[01:36:42] Exactly.

[01:36:44] All right.

[01:36:45] So the winner is Grimace's big game hunter pro birthday.

[01:36:52] To be settled at a later date at the Midwest Gaming Classic where him and I will line up in the parking lot and shoot guns at each other.

[01:36:59] And one of us gives up.

[01:37:01] Yeah.

[01:37:02] After drinking some Miller.

[01:37:04] Some is light.

[01:37:06] That's light.

[01:37:08] All the Miller.

[01:37:09] So the winner winners of most win Midwest game are Mike and Anthony with Grimace's game hunter pro birthday.

[01:37:21] Someone please, please make a ROM hack of this and please make a ROM hack of Pokemon mating simulator.

[01:37:28] Please, please.

[01:37:29] If you're listening to this.

[01:37:31] We're for it.

[01:37:33] So there you go.

[01:37:35] That's that's our that's our categories.

[01:37:37] I do have one more question for each of you before we get out of here.

[01:37:44] And as a question that I didn't put in any of the documents because I wanted you guys to just kind of say this on the fly.

[01:37:51] I want to know what each of your favorite game that you've played this year is.

[01:37:59] Oh, so Mike, we'll start with you because I know that you're just absolutely right now.

[01:38:03] I'm just kidding.

[01:38:05] My favorite game this year.

[01:38:09] Yeah.

[01:38:11] I mean it probably and again, it doesn't have to it doesn't have to be from 2024.

[01:38:14] It's just the the the best time that you had playing a game.

[01:38:18] It probably would have been Dark Souls one until this weekend when my son had his birthday party.

[01:38:22] We have been hard on Mario Party Jamboree since then, which is a game.

[01:38:27] It's oh my God. It's so good.

[01:38:29] It's so good.

[01:38:29] It's so fucking good.

[01:38:31] It's the best Mario Party as far as I'm concerned.

[01:38:33] I don't know if it's the best one yet, but I will tell you another like 60 to 80 hours from now of unlocking everything and doing everything.

[01:38:42] That shopping mall fucks.

[01:38:44] I'm I am in it right now and I haven't I met need so I'm almost done.

[01:38:49] I had need one more Lord Soul and Dark Souls one that need or.

[01:38:53] You were talking about Mario Party.

[01:38:55] I was like, there's.

[01:38:56] Oh, yeah, there's also Lord Souls and Mario Party, but.

[01:39:01] But I would I would say that if you if we had recorded last week, it'd be Dark Souls one just based on how much I've enjoyed acclimating to the FromSoft series.

[01:39:10] But right now I'm only thinking about playing more Mario Party and having more Mario Party, much like Dwight and Megadesk.

[01:39:18] So it's real good.

[01:39:21] It is very good.

[01:39:23] Matt.

[01:39:24] Matt.

[01:39:25] Matt.

[01:39:26] So like my it's funny because you said favorite game of the year specifically, not like your number one game of the year.

[01:39:36] And so you're using your Jedi mind tricks.

[01:39:38] I mean, it's no secret that I really love the veil guard.

[01:39:40] I mentioned a few times today and it's up there for me.

[01:39:43] But I think I think my favorite game this year because of how I experienced it and probably the one I would recommend the most, which is what I'm using my favorite game for is probably a thousand times resist.

[01:39:56] It is for those who don't know a narrative game made first.

[01:40:01] It's a fellow.

[01:40:02] I think the studio is fellow traveler and they it's their first game ever.

[01:40:07] It's a small team and it's it's it's basically a walking sim, but there are some mechanic stuff also.

[01:40:15] But it's a it's a narrative game, really unique art style, really interesting story, science fiction.

[01:40:23] You know, it's timey-wimey a little bit.

[01:40:25] And I really dug it.

[01:40:27] I played it on recommendation of a few friends and then kind of like was blown away by it.

[01:40:33] And so I think when all said and done, like the veil guard is my is like my number one game of the year because it's a new Bioware game that doesn't suck.

[01:40:42] And it's a low bar for that, though, I did really enjoy it.

[01:40:46] But I think a thousand times resist is like my favorite game that I played this year.

[01:40:50] It was the most fulfilling experience I had playing a game this year.

[01:40:53] I heard Dave Jackson gushing about that and he told me to play it, too.

[01:40:58] And yeah, I fully intend to pick that one up because it does.

[01:41:02] He said it's like absolutely mind blowing, like when it really gets into it.

[01:41:07] So I and now with your recommendation as well, I think I absolutely should probably play that before the years.

[01:41:13] I've also played it even with my small mind and I very much enjoyed it.

[01:41:16] But from the oh, you played it too, Mike.

[01:41:19] Very good.

[01:41:20] And same people Dave Jackson, Rick Firestone, Jala.

[01:41:23] I heard it from everybody.

[01:41:25] And so then I had to play it.

[01:41:28] It just and it was great. Yeah.

[01:41:32] Nice.

[01:41:32] Very nice.

[01:41:35] Jamie, what's your favorite game this year?

[01:41:38] I don't know what makes you think I play games.

[01:41:40] I don't have time for that.

[01:41:42] I don't play games.

[01:41:43] I just make systems.

[01:41:45] I write like the systems that play the games.

[01:41:47] What was your favorite system this year?

[01:41:50] No, I'm not even going to get into that.

[01:41:51] Somebody's going to ask me about Jaguar.

[01:41:53] I'm not going to talk about this.

[01:41:54] The Jaguar.

[01:41:55] I'm not talking about any Atari things.

[01:41:58] You're not going to do it.

[01:42:00] No, but I it kind of runs together 2023 and 2024.

[01:42:03] But I think this year probably it was a light game year, but I think probably Final Fantasy the remake.

[01:42:08] I kind of enjoyed that.

[01:42:11] Only like it's only at the top of my list by virtue of the fact that I haven't played much.

[01:42:16] But but yeah, that one that one probably tops it for me.

[01:42:19] And I'm not talking about Jaguar.

[01:42:24] I don't want to make the videos either.

[01:42:26] The Jaguar is not good, but I've got to sell it.

[01:42:29] I mean, I have an entire episode of Bubsy coming up for no reason other than people would stop and find like something.

[01:42:35] Can't wait.

[01:42:36] I'm like the only Bubsy fan.

[01:42:37] Is that the most Midwestern game?

[01:42:39] It might be.

[01:42:40] Bubsy is one of my mom's favorite games.

[01:42:43] Specifically the Genesis ones, but you know.

[01:42:47] That's Wisconsin.

[01:42:48] Yeah, it is.

[01:42:51] Oh, man.

[01:42:53] Anthony, last but not least, what was your favorite game this year?

[01:42:56] I agree with Jamie.

[01:42:57] I don't know why people think I have time to play video games.

[01:43:00] I literally do not play them if I'm not working on videos.

[01:43:03] My favorite game is the Haunted Castle Revisited, the remake of Haunted Castle from Konami.

[01:43:09] I heard that's good.

[01:43:10] Because one, it's really good.

[01:43:12] And two, how often do really shitty video games get rebate?

[01:43:15] Because the original is absolute garbage, hot dumpster fire all day long, terrible game.

[01:43:21] And that never happens.

[01:43:23] Bad games don't get remastered.

[01:43:26] And I want to try that.

[01:43:27] Also, it took like 22 minutes to be and that's like all the time I have.

[01:43:32] Yeah, I've also had a friend that played that and said like, dude, you got to fucking play this game.

[01:43:38] Like, it's actually really cool.

[01:43:40] It's legit good.

[01:43:41] And like I said, 22 minutes later, you're done.

[01:43:43] That's it.

[01:43:44] That's the time I have.

[01:43:45] Oh, is that short?

[01:43:46] Yeah, you could.

[01:43:47] It's an arcade game.

[01:43:48] Just a remade arcade game.

[01:43:49] 22 minutes in and you're out.

[01:43:51] True.

[01:43:52] Which is apparently all I ever play anymore is arcade games.

[01:43:54] But I did play Jaguar.

[01:43:56] I have to say, you made a core and you ruined my November.

[01:43:59] Sorry, I apologize.

[01:44:00] I apologize.

[01:44:01] When is the next Jaguar video coming out?

[01:44:03] I don't know what I feel bad about myself already.

[01:44:07] You know what though?

[01:44:08] It's funny because like ever since I had you on Retro Rehab and then you met, like you

[01:44:13] and I and Aaron talked about Ninja Golf.

[01:44:17] I've heard this game come up so many fucking times without me even bringing it up.

[01:44:22] Like someone was like, you ever heard of Ninja Golf on Atari?

[01:44:24] And I'm like, yes, I have heard of that actually.

[01:44:27] And I would have never heard of it if it wasn't for Jamie.

[01:44:30] See, I'm bringing it back.

[01:44:31] I'm bringing it back.

[01:44:33] I do have one addendum from before.

[01:44:36] It's Sunset Visitor is the developer.

[01:44:38] I just want to make sure I got it right.

[01:44:39] It's Sunset Visitor who made a thousand times resist.

[01:44:43] Okay, cool.

[01:44:44] Cool, cool, cool, cool.

[01:44:46] Well, everyone, thank you guys so, so, so, so much for coming on and doing this.

[01:44:51] I know that, you know, two hours of your time is a bit of time.

[01:44:55] But I just want to extend a very warm thank you to each and every one of you.

[01:45:01] Matt, Jamie, Anthony, Mike, too.

[01:45:05] Yeah, I guess.

[01:45:06] Mike.

[01:45:06] Thanks, Mike.

[01:45:07] Mike.

[01:45:08] Look, if you guys want to plug and promote anything, I highly encourage you to do it right now.

[01:45:14] So let's start with Matt Storm.

[01:45:16] Matt, go ahead and plug and promote.

[01:45:18] Sure, I'll be real quick.

[01:45:19] You can find me on Blue Sky at DJ Stormageddon.

[01:45:21] And then I am.

[01:45:23] I have two podcasts, Fun and Games, which is a topic based podcast that I do with Jeff Moonen.

[01:45:29] We do retrospectives.

[01:45:30] We interview developers.

[01:45:31] We talk to composers.

[01:45:33] We talk about different video game related topics like signposting in video games.

[01:45:38] Is grinding too much in video games?

[01:45:40] Should, you know, different RPG mechanics, that kind of stuff.

[01:45:43] There's a sub series within that feed called SideQuest where different hosts every episode talks about a game they love and why they love it.

[01:45:49] Aaron, your co-host on Superpod has done several episodes for that.

[01:45:54] Jerry has one in the works that will go up eventually.

[01:45:57] No shade though.

[01:45:58] And then I also host Reignite with my co-host Frankie Bradley Lestrange started as a Mass Effect podcast.

[01:46:06] Play along pod.

[01:46:07] We did the trilogy.

[01:46:08] We did Andromeda, which I played for the first time for the series.

[01:46:10] And now we've caught up the Dragon Age continuing through the Bioware lineage.

[01:46:14] We're currently doing Dragon Age 2 as of when we're recording this, as well as praising the new Dragon Age game that just came out.

[01:46:20] And for the first time in the history of the podcast current with a new game, which is wild.

[01:46:25] So you can find those on all podcast platforms.

[01:46:27] I hope you'll check them out.

[01:46:29] And yeah, thanks for having me.

[01:46:30] It was really a blast to be here.

[01:46:32] Absolutely.

[01:46:33] Jamie, go ahead.

[01:46:34] Plug and promote.

[01:46:35] Well, I'm a bit of a one trick pony, but there's always the Mr. Project.

[01:46:40] Mr. FPGA is a project for hardware emulation of old systems.

[01:46:44] And I encourage you to look at our GitHub page at Mr.

[01:46:46] Dash Devel.com or check out our Discord server, which is just Mr. FPGA.

[01:46:52] You can search for it in the Discord search thing if you ever want to find the community.

[01:46:56] Hell yeah.

[01:46:57] The Mr. pretty much changed my retro gaming life this year.

[01:47:01] Like this year was the year that I got into it.

[01:47:03] And then that's how I met you.

[01:47:04] That's how I met Anthony.

[01:47:06] I never heard of it.

[01:47:10] Anthony, go ahead and plug and promote all your stuff.

[01:47:14] I've literally got like three misters, two sitting behind me and another one over in

[01:47:18] the corner for mine.

[01:47:20] I'm drowning in these things like Astro Bot pussy.

[01:47:22] No.

[01:47:24] I get my half rack.

[01:47:26] I mean, I'm video game esoteric.

[01:47:28] I bang my head against the wall trying to convince people that old things that are bad

[01:47:31] are actually good.

[01:47:32] And I'm getting enough people convinced into that.

[01:47:36] Mr. Video is apparently now Nintendo lawsuits and Super Sega FPGA.

[01:47:41] I'll have a video later on.

[01:47:42] Do you like Super Sega FPGA?

[01:47:44] Is that something that you're.

[01:47:45] It has been the most fun I have had all damn year long.

[01:47:49] I got sent a video of the lead developer grabbing his pipe through his pants while showing off

[01:47:56] the console and it is going to be a good time.

[01:47:59] Is that like an official.

[01:48:01] That's an official Super Sega video.

[01:48:03] He was also gambling and drunk showing off the Super Sega.

[01:48:08] There's Lamborghinis.

[01:48:09] There's motorcycles.

[01:48:10] There's magic.

[01:48:11] There's dancing.

[01:48:13] Oh, it's just it's the gift that keeps on giving.

[01:48:15] It's better than jelly of the month club, but that's what I do.

[01:48:20] I don't know.

[01:48:21] Hell yeah.

[01:48:22] Well, thanks, buddy.

[01:48:23] I really appreciate you coming on here and doing this.

[01:48:26] Happy to.

[01:48:27] All right, Mike.

[01:48:28] Do your thing.

[01:48:29] Mm hmm.

[01:48:30] So full disclosure.

[01:48:31] I was really worried being part of this panel because I was intending on being on the dumb

[01:48:38] night and not the smart night.

[01:48:39] So when I saw who he had put me with, I was obviously I started drinking and I was very

[01:48:46] intimidated.

[01:48:49] But happy to meet all of you.

[01:48:51] So if you need any plugs from a really weird account on any of the social medias, I am Mike

[01:48:58] Quest 64 official on blue sky.

[01:49:01] I'm still sort of on Twitter, but it's more just holding my place there until everybody

[01:49:05] can escape.

[01:49:06] I would like to think that I'm not like the I'm like the guy on the Titanic who's not

[01:49:11] trying to save people, but he's like, like trying to burn the cabin and shoot holes in

[01:49:17] the ship so it goes down faster.

[01:49:22] So I'll be there for a while yet.

[01:49:24] But yeah, I was just happy to be here.

[01:49:28] Just happy to be considered.

[01:49:30] So thanks, guys.

[01:49:32] Yeah, truly.

[01:49:33] We joke around a lot, but I really appreciate you, Mike.

[01:49:37] And yeah, all you guys super appreciate this.

[01:49:40] This was a lot of fun.

[01:49:42] So I am one last time going to recap what our awards are and what the winners are.

[01:49:48] So first up, we had video game hottie of the year presented by Matt Storm.

[01:49:53] And the winner was Carlack from Baldur's Gate three.

[01:49:56] And that was Jamie's nomination.

[01:49:58] We had Nintendo fan game most likely to get you sued by Nintendo.

[01:50:02] That was presented by Anthony and Anthony one with shotgun Mario.

[01:50:07] Then we had tutorial triumph, which was presented by Jamie and Mike won that with Final Fantasy

[01:50:14] eight.

[01:50:14] And it's just flurry of tutorials.

[01:50:18] And then we finally, finally came to some sort of a weird agreement that the most Midwest game

[01:50:25] that was presented by Mike ended up being a tie and merged as Grimace's game hunter pro birthday.

[01:50:34] So Mike and Anthony both won that in the classic style of anti game of the year.

[01:50:40] We embrace the chaos here.

[01:50:41] So once again, I want to thank our listeners for listening to this episode.

[01:50:45] I want to thank all of you for joining us on this.

[01:50:48] This has been a lot of fun.

[01:50:49] Definitely want to get you guys back on super ghost in the future with with regular episode.

[01:50:55] In the meantime, please check out all of these fine people's social media or their podcasts,

[01:51:01] the discords, the YouTubes, all that stuff, because I can vouch.

[01:51:05] All these people are fantastic people and they make amazing things.

[01:51:09] So until the next time, I'm Jerry.

[01:51:12] This has been super ghost radios anti game of the year.

[01:51:15] One.

[01:51:16] There are more to come.

[01:51:18] So stay tuned.

[01:51:19] Anyways.

[01:51:20] Bye.
