[00:00:00] Well folks, today we're either talking about my favorite Christmas movie or a new video game. Either way, welcome to the party pal, today on.

[00:00:10] [Music]

[00:00:28] Are you guys really not going to talk over the intro?

[00:00:30] [Laughs]

[00:00:33] We were waiting for the guest to do it.

[00:00:35] Yeah, the one week!

[00:00:37] We actually- One week, we almost had a- We almost did it.

[00:00:41] [Laughs]

[00:00:42] It was. Good job, buddy.

[00:00:44] [Laughs]

[00:00:45] Hey everybody!

[00:00:46] Everybody, welcome to another episode of Press B To Cancel, your favorite podcast that

[00:00:55] talks about new games even though we're retro.

[00:00:59] Totally retro.

[00:01:01] It's old school to talk about new games, isn't it?

[00:01:03] Yeah.

[00:01:04] Before we get to the topic, I am not alone.

[00:01:06] And I am joined by three of my favorite people and my favorite person is one of them.

[00:01:11] Oh, that's so nice.

[00:01:13] That's so nice.

[00:01:14] Her.

[00:01:15] Sinstress, welcome back to the podcast.

[00:01:17] Thank you for having me.

[00:01:18] I always love hanging out with you guys doing these, so thank you.

[00:01:22] Absolutely.

[00:01:23] And Jake, how are you today?

[00:01:24] Doing fantastic.

[00:01:25] Got a brand new mic.

[00:01:27] Got a Batman bear behind me.

[00:01:29] What could be better on a Friday?

[00:01:30] I was going to say, your mic looks awfully ribbed for your pleasure.

[00:01:35] Wow.

[00:01:36] It's a very phallic mic, I know, yeah.

[00:01:39] And, Chardmunk, how are you today?

[00:01:43] I'm great.

[00:01:44] I've got a brand new video card that's currently sitting in UPS's lap that I am excited to

[00:01:49] get into the house and install this weekend.

[00:01:51] And I'm going to build another computer for my wonderful life this weekend, so my hands

[00:01:55] are tied this weekend.

[00:01:58] And try to fit some streaming in there somewhere, so let's start it now!

[00:02:02] Okay, so this is a new game.

[00:02:07] There is a ton of questions as to whether this game will survive as it is, or if the

[00:02:14] Pokémon company will, well, I'm not going to say the word because I don't want to give

[00:02:20] them any ideas when the AI parses our podcast later.

[00:02:25] Wow.

[00:02:26] Yeah.

[00:02:27] The Pokémon company will lovingly address this game as perfect.

[00:02:34] That's what they'll do.

[00:02:36] So for those that may not be aware, you're hiding in a box if you're not aware of what

[00:02:42] PAL World is.

[00:02:43] Yeah.

[00:02:44] But it's essentially in my eyes, or my opinion, it's Ark or Valheim, or that sort of game

[00:02:54] meets, well, got to catch them all.

[00:02:59] Pocket monsters.

[00:03:00] Yeah.

[00:03:01] Yeah.

[00:03:02] Isn't it like 7 million people have played this game so far?

[00:03:04] Yes.

[00:03:05] And it's not even fully out.

[00:03:06] It's in early access.

[00:03:07] This thing surpassed, I think, what was the game that was super popular, that was holding

[00:03:14] the reins.

[00:03:15] Counter Strike.

[00:03:16] Like CSGO, I think.

[00:03:17] Well, Counter Strike.

[00:03:18] Yeah.

[00:03:19] I think it was Counter Strike.

[00:03:20] It was in the past those numbers on its first day and became the most downloaded game like

[00:03:25] on its first day on Steam.

[00:03:26] Yeah, I think I saw within the first week, it was like 8 million copies or something,

[00:03:30] and it was in the top five of simultaneous play on Steam.

[00:03:37] Yep.

[00:03:38] Yeah.

[00:03:39] And it's still going very strong.

[00:03:41] I checked my notes.

[00:03:42] All right.

[00:03:43] So for those that are not aware of what Ark or Valheim or that sort of game is, once

[00:03:48] again, you've been in a box, but open world, base building, survival, generally there's

[00:03:58] some sort of creatures or something that you have to fight, resource gathering, those

[00:04:04] sorts of things.

[00:04:06] And then this one, basically, they've replaced.

[00:04:08] So if we're comparing it to Ark, they've replaced the dinosaurs with these cute animals.

[00:04:15] But instead of taming them by beating their heads in until they pass out and then feeding

[00:04:19] them slowly, you throw a ball at them and you cross your fingers.

[00:04:26] Valheim, I don't think there's creatures you can capture in Valheim.

[00:04:32] There is.

[00:04:33] There's boars.

[00:04:35] You can tame boars and there's also the locks, they're giant buffalo-type creatures.

[00:04:39] You can train and ride them actually.

[00:04:42] So there's definitely creatures.

[00:04:43] It's not Pokemon, but there's taming them.

[00:04:45] I never, sorry, I never got into that aspect of Valheim.

[00:04:49] I tried a couple of times with some boars, couldn't make it work gave up.

[00:04:53] The problem I had is I had boars.

[00:04:55] I had yours.

[00:04:56] Hold on, Chard.

[00:04:57] I had boars until somebody, somebody on this very episode left the doors open and let the

[00:05:03] trolls waltz in and killed my boars.

[00:05:06] erroneous, erroneous on all accounts.

[00:05:11] Would you consider that type of taming to be boring?

[00:05:17] Ah, yes, yes I would.

[00:05:20] Well played, sir.

[00:05:21] Wow.

[00:05:22] Wow.

[00:05:23] Yeah, I didn't do much of the taming.

[00:05:28] And again, totally erroneous.

[00:05:29] I did not leave anything open.

[00:05:31] Jake just likes to blame me for eating his own turnips.

[00:05:34] So gaming Bible as of a day ago, Power World surpasses 19 million players as continues

[00:05:41] to dominate on both steam and Xbox right now.

[00:05:45] Yeah.

[00:05:46] Fun facts.

[00:05:47] Check that.

[00:05:48] Yeah.

[00:05:49] And this is a, this is still in early access.

[00:05:55] I read an article from the CEO of the company that developed it that basically said I'm surprised

[00:06:01] it worked out as well as it did.

[00:06:03] It was basically like they had no idea what they were doing going in.

[00:06:08] Wow.

[00:06:09] Yeah.

[00:06:10] Could have fooled me.

[00:06:11] Because you know what?

[00:06:12] Well, that's the thing with this game is so the company, I can't remember the name is

[00:06:14] it pocket pairs, the name of the company, I think something like that.

[00:06:16] Yeah.

[00:06:17] But yeah, but so they, the game before this one that they released was called craptopia.

[00:06:21] And it was about survival building crafting.

[00:06:25] Just no poking my rip off.

[00:06:27] And that was one of the things I was kind of concerned about with this.

[00:06:29] When I heard that is crafttopia got released a couple of years ago in early access.

[00:06:33] As far as I know, it's still in early access.

[00:06:35] And now we have power world in early access.

[00:06:37] And it's mostly everything the original about craftopia was ported over to power world.

[00:06:42] So I'm wondering what the long term game is for them because they've made so much money

[00:06:46] off of this.

[00:06:47] Is there incentive for them to even finish it?

[00:06:50] This seems like as has anybody here seen the movie free guy?

[00:06:54] Oh, yes.

[00:06:55] Oh, yeah.

[00:06:56] This seems very free gai-ish to me where they started one game and built on top of it spoilers.

[00:07:04] And the game that was built on top of the original game is more successful, but we come

[00:07:10] to find out that the other game is like terraforming and creating renew life or some shit, but spoilers.

[00:07:16] Yeah.

[00:07:17] Ryan Reynolds is brilliant.

[00:07:18] So another one that actually did that was a Pokemon go, which was far more successful

[00:07:22] than its predecessor in grass.

[00:07:23] I played the shit out of ingress, pokemon go was okay for me.

[00:07:27] I forgot about ingress because yeah, natic then took like it did that with Pokemon go

[00:07:32] and Harry Potter and a bunch like they took the same concept of that and made Harry Potter

[00:07:37] go and I don't know what the hell you do with heady parko.

[00:07:40] We didn't even play that.

[00:07:41] It's not the same thing and they did they just did monster hunter go or something along

[00:07:45] those lines.

[00:07:46] And it's just it's not nearly as fun as Pokemon go.

[00:07:50] One boat the pokemon makes that game infinitely better much like I guess pal world take a

[00:07:54] boring crafting survival game and tech on bizarre cute animals and you got a party.

[00:08:00] There's nothing quite like beating a Pikachu clone with a bat to capture it.

[00:08:04] Yeah, I actually I played a lot of arc to back in the day and this is very much it gives

[00:08:10] the same vibes.

[00:08:11] It feels very much the same and I love writing the animals as much as I loved writing the

[00:08:17] dinosaurs.

[00:08:18] Yeah.

[00:08:19] Yeah, although I don't have a dildo army.

[00:08:22] Yeah, there's still hope it's only an early access.

[00:08:26] Yeah, it's gonna happen.

[00:08:28] Think it out.

[00:08:29] If you weren't part of a Christian pal world stream then probably be all right.

[00:08:34] That's right.

[00:08:35] That's right.

[00:08:37] I mean you could you could give your chimpanzee a frickin a k-47.

[00:08:41] This is crazy.

[00:08:43] This all this is insane.

[00:08:45] Yeah, we play with a group.

[00:08:46] We play with a group and one of the people has I don't remember which animal it is but

[00:08:53] it's it's a big kind of teddy bearish looking thing but he brings it into battles and he

[00:08:59] literally we fought a noobus a level 45 boss and he's just I think their noobus is 45.

[00:09:08] Okay.

[00:09:09] And he's he's literally just like dropping this thing onto the ground and just stun locking

[00:09:15] it with this with these these rocket launchers that this that is pal is using.

[00:09:21] So he walks up to you and he whips him out.

[00:09:24] He's like, Oh, it goes my finger like and that's the thing with this.

[00:09:28] So like there's the Pokemon analog here the pals and like at first glance a lot of them

[00:09:33] do feel like they're ripped straight out of out of Pokemon's games.

[00:09:36] Yeah.

[00:09:37] But then a few like like I think it's the monkey like you mentioned chart is it's green

[00:09:40] and one of its power ups that you can unlock is literally assault rifle it pulls at an

[00:09:45] assault rifle and I'm not wrong.

[00:09:47] This is the one that if you want you can put on your head and it will shoot enemies at

[00:09:50] you while you're roaming around.

[00:09:51] It's a little bit.

[00:09:52] But the one that it it's it's hilarious.

[00:09:54] But the one that yes, yes but the one I use for the thumbnail for today's episode.

[00:10:00] It's a Fox Tron.

[00:10:01] I think the name of the phone one is it looks like an Evie but it shoots fire but the power

[00:10:06] for that one is literally you pick it up like a flame thrower and you use it as such and

[00:10:11] you have a good 30 seconds of flaming.

[00:10:13] It's bizarre.

[00:10:14] Yeah.

[00:10:15] This game is it's crazy.

[00:10:16] It's Pokemon but not like it's definitely something different.

[00:10:19] It's yeah.

[00:10:20] It's cool.

[00:10:21] I mean you got the base building aspect but you can utilize the pals to help build the

[00:10:25] bases and build your resources and build all kinds of stuff are every time I pop in

[00:10:32] to play with my team there's a small city that they have developed since I've been

[00:10:37] there.

[00:10:38] And there's all kinds of new pals running around doing work and if you go to a bench

[00:10:43] to make weaponry or whatever a pal will come over and help you and speed up the amount

[00:10:50] of time it takes to make something or you can have them create the recipe or start the

[00:10:55] recipe and leave and they'll build up for you while you're out foraging and doing whatever.

[00:10:59] It's a really clever aspect where things that I get lost in playing these types of game

[00:11:05] of having to build and having to sit there and grind all the building out I don't mind

[00:11:09] fighting the creatures.

[00:11:10] I don't mind like grinding XP and no issue with that but sitting there and making arrows

[00:11:15] for four hours is like I could literally do anything else in my time.

[00:11:20] Now I can send something in to do it for me and go have fun and then come back and get

[00:11:25] what I need.

[00:11:26] Really really cool or I can take a bathroom break and let them just spin up whatever they're

[00:11:31] doing.

[00:11:32] So it takes away like the monotony of having to do basic skills but you've still got to

[00:11:38] feed yourself.

[00:11:39] You've got to feed your animals.

[00:11:41] I mean it still has that aspect of survival in it as well.

[00:11:45] Yeah.

[00:11:46] I kind of view it as Arc but they've cleaned up the most tires and portions of the minutia.

[00:11:54] There is still minutia but it's not nearly as tiresome.

[00:12:01] The minutia in this is actually when the game bugs and the animals don't feed themselves.

[00:12:06] Right?

[00:12:07] Yeah.

[00:12:08] Yeah.

[00:12:09] Or did we have the first time I played with you guys, somebody had set one of the pals

[00:12:13] to build arrows and they accidentally built like 3000 arrows and they wouldn't stop.

[00:12:18] It was like bug or something.

[00:12:20] And somebody told the animals we had a podium.

[00:12:23] There's a podium that you can set how much of a slave driver you want to be to your pals.

[00:12:31] And this person said work until you basically die and then walk down.

[00:12:39] Yes.

[00:12:41] That's what you want.

[00:12:42] Right?

[00:12:43] That's what you want.

[00:12:44] You're your...

[00:12:45] A list of butcher my pals.

[00:12:46] Yeah.

[00:12:47] No kidding.

[00:12:48] Okay.

[00:12:49] Okay.

[00:12:50] So that's the thing I'm going to mention too.

[00:12:51] You've realized that there's a butcher knife you can unlock in the game and it does the

[00:12:55] simplest thing.

[00:12:56] It changes your pet pal emote to butcher your pal, but not so much an emote.

[00:13:02] You literally whip out a pal on the floor and you take it your butcher knife and you

[00:13:05] chop them to bits and you get whatever they would give you on death.

[00:13:09] And it's in true Japanese fashion.

[00:13:11] It puts up a mosaics.

[00:13:12] You can't actually see it.

[00:13:13] Yeah.

[00:13:14] Super blurred out.

[00:13:15] It's censored.

[00:13:16] Yep.

[00:13:17] It's hilarious.

[00:13:18] I'm sitting in the middle of the base where everybody's doing their crafting and repairing.

[00:13:20] And I'm like, "What is that?"

[00:13:22] And it's just Jake murdering all his pals, just murdering pals.

[00:13:25] I had like 20 sheep from the tutorial I want to get rid of and they give you meat and

[00:13:30] I needed the food.

[00:13:31] So I'm just sitting there bushing her for a good 10, 15 minutes.

[00:13:33] And somebody's like, "There's better and more efficient ways to off your Pokemon."

[00:13:37] And I'm like, "What?"

[00:13:39] But what I love in this one though is you collect them in in pal sphere.

[00:13:43] It's very much poke balls.

[00:13:45] But there's humanoid enemies in this game.

[00:13:47] There's the syndicate, right?

[00:13:48] They're these bad guys.

[00:13:49] They're humans.

[00:13:50] They don't realize but you can capture them in your pal spheres.

[00:13:53] So I have one of my pockets for all of the tutorial.

[00:13:56] And when I was going to butchering, I just thought, "This can't work, right?

[00:14:00] This can't be a thing."

[00:14:01] Oh, no.

[00:14:02] But sure enough, I whipped up the syndicate and I murdered them with butcher knife.

[00:14:07] And in front of everybody, right next to the leaves of the dogs and it was pretty pretty

[00:14:11] off.

[00:14:12] So it went green.

[00:14:13] And I got coins from it.

[00:14:14] So OSCA's a chat and says, "If you butcher 100 pals, it permanently blurs you."

[00:14:20] That's not your character for what I'm told.

[00:14:23] Well, I'm not afraid of that problem.

[00:14:26] Yeah.

[00:14:27] I'll take that.

[00:14:28] Jake's halfway there.

[00:14:30] Jesus.

[00:14:31] No, there's...

[00:14:32] Is it any more efficient than the...

[00:14:34] Was it the pal compressor?

[00:14:36] Well, that one.

[00:14:37] The sauce and like...

[00:14:38] Yeah, that one levels up.

[00:14:39] That one levels up your pals.

[00:14:42] By juicing the other ones, like that's not any more humane.

[00:14:45] It's more humane.

[00:14:46] That's just as bad.

[00:14:47] It is humane.

[00:14:48] You're just combining them into what?

[00:14:49] One?

[00:14:50] I'm not stabbing them with a knife.

[00:14:52] Look, one's a chamber that may knock them out first.

[00:14:55] You just went after them with a butcher knife.

[00:14:57] Yeah.

[00:14:58] Well, it's a clean kill.

[00:14:59] Well, it's a clean kill.

[00:15:00] I mean, at the least, at the least, it's a blender whirling together down to their essence.

[00:15:05] And that's like faster than being butchered with a knife, so...

[00:15:09] Staring there rather than knife than the Vitabix.

[00:15:12] Like, oh, I don't work the Vitabix the way it goes.

[00:15:14] Will it blend?

[00:15:15] And I can pull it.

[00:15:16] You know what the...

[00:15:17] Will it blend?

[00:15:18] Yeah.

[00:15:19] Why is my wallet so chunky?

[00:15:22] It's time for my smoothie.

[00:15:27] But it just goes to show you with that.

[00:15:33] at first glance, you may think this is a Pokemon game, but it really isn't. Everything from the tone of it. Like the weapons, the assault weapons that you can equip to the blending, the chopping, and then, of course, the survival and the crafting and stuff. It couldn't be more different than the Pokemon game. The closest maybe, maybe it's a stretch is Pokemon, is it Azarus? The Asian Japanese one. Yeah. That one, and that one's pretty decent in that it took more of an open world approach to things in Pokemon.

[00:16:02] It's kind of like that, but there's no guns. There's certainly no hand to hand combat like there is in power world.

[00:16:09] Yeah, it's a cool aspect because it's a third person shooter. It has the same kind of artwork as Fortnite, dare I say it, but it's still got that very cartoonish kind of look to it.

[00:16:20] And it's the over the shoulder third person, but you're not challenging one another with your pals. Your pals are there kicking ass with you everywhere you go.

[00:16:29] So you're doing basically, and we're benefiting because we're doing, we got a server that we're running it on.

[00:16:34] So I think standard, if you played it normally, it would be like four people in your team that you can have.

[00:16:40] You can play, you can play with three other people, so it's a four limit.

[00:16:43] Right. So we're, but we're all in a private thing, so it's all of us doing the same thing together.

[00:16:49] So we benefit because we've got the entire team running out and doing stuff, but it's still cool to be raiding big bosses and fighting them and having your pals come out

[00:16:58] and being strategic because some of us want to capture them, right?

[00:17:02] You can capture literally anything on this map no matter what level it is, as long as you're a high enough level to capture it.

[00:17:08] You can capture a boss. You can capture some of the big bad that's out there. We've caught almost everything that I know of.

[00:17:14] And it's kind of the strategic of like, okay, as soon as it gets down to like 200, pull your pals out and we'll start throwing the balls at it

[00:17:21] and, and all kinds of cool stuff. It's not just like, you know, RPG, turn base kind of attack. You're fucking going at it and there's chaos and there's all kinds of shit.

[00:17:31] It's, it's, and they're absolutely not two people in that server who were completely addicted to not and spent like days in there.

[00:17:38] I said a small city. There's a small city.

[00:17:41] Yeah.

[00:17:42] There's three.

[00:17:43] There's three.

[00:17:44] There's three.

[00:17:45] Yeah.

[00:17:46] Yeah.

[00:17:47] Yeah. So that brings up a point. So you do, you do have some limitations if you play with, with other people using your client as the server.

[00:17:57] Or if you run a dedicated server, you can get, you know, more players in and, and configure some things, I think a little bit better.

[00:18:05] So now that brings up a point as well. This game is very early access. The, the server code seems to have some substantial memory leaks and I have to restart it generally a couple times a day.

[00:18:21] This server has 32 gigs of RAM and it is very quickly at least up into the 20 plus gigs of RAM usage just for this application.

[00:18:33] So how many players were on it at the same time for that? It was a, is it like 10 players?

[00:18:37] I think we've gotten, I think we've gotten eight or 10.

[00:18:41] Yeah.

[00:18:42] Yeah.

[00:18:42] That sounds about right. Yeah.

[00:18:44] Yeah.

[00:18:44] We were doing patch today that was supposed to fix some of the stuff. I don't know if it has or hasn't.

[00:18:49] But there was a big patch that was released today for it that fixes some of the server issues that I know that we're having, like, maybe your memory, they didn't specify, I didn't read the specifications of it.

[00:18:59] But there are some, if you catch like a hundred pals, there's been some corrupt data that's been corrupt.

[00:19:07] 70, 7,000.

[00:19:08] Yeah.

[00:19:09] Yeah.

[00:19:10] So, yeah. So they fix that or they're trying to fix that.

[00:19:14] So they are doing, there are due patching. But again, as we said earlier in the episode, this is an early access game still. So you're going to deal with some of the bugs.

[00:19:22] It's polished, like it looks good. But then when you start getting a little nitty gritty, it gets a little bit, a little bit more. You kind of start seeing the blemishes on it a little.

[00:19:31] We have people after server restarts. Generally one person will fall through the world.

[00:19:37] Mm hmm.

[00:19:38] You know, it's been known for me. The one was, there's, you can ride some of your pals and the one I tried to ride it and it started to, it was not a flying one, but it started to fly into the air.

[00:19:50] Slowly stepping me up into the air and then just disappeared and dropped me. That was a fun time.

[00:19:55] Yeah.

[00:19:56] It was tired of you butchering its friends.

[00:19:59] Yeah.

[00:20:00] That's your payback.

[00:20:01] It was, it was revolting.

[00:20:02] This before the butcher knife was unlocked. Okay.

[00:20:04] It's before the killer.

[00:20:05] It's not in your eyes.

[00:20:07] It's not.

[00:20:08] Okay.

[00:20:09] You had, you had death in your eyes.

[00:20:11] So one look at my blue skin character is like, no, no, this is Avatar.

[00:20:15] Yeah.

[00:20:16] No avatar.

[00:20:17] No avatar.

[00:20:18] You cannot write me. Thank you.

[00:20:20] You, you, you take your unobtainium to your own world. Get fucked.

[00:20:24] Wow.

[00:20:26] But like, I mean bugs aside, it's a nice looking game.

[00:20:31] I really do the graphics. Like forget the cartoon style, just the grass, the trees, the water even looks, it looks pretty good.

[00:20:38] I'm used to playing Valheim and this is definitely a step up in graphics.

[00:20:41] I would like to say one of my favorite things about this game is that you can climb everything.

[00:20:46] Yeah.

[00:20:47] Like you jump, you climb, and as long as you have this stamina, you can get pretty much anywhere.

[00:20:51] Nintendo is going to have their hands full.

[00:20:53] And it's not like Ninja Gaiden with accidental wall grab.

[00:20:56] No, it's a lot like.

[00:20:57] Oh, there's absolutely accidental wall grab, but it's not, you know, fatal.

[00:21:01] Yeah.

[00:21:02] It's very much like Breath of the Wild is the, is the closest analog, right?

[00:21:05] And that's why Charts are saying Nintendo really could be suing because it's just a Pokemon look, but then it's the Breath of the Wild mechanics.

[00:21:10] There's also a glider straight out of Zelda where you can climb a tower and just glide down.

[00:21:15] It's pretty interesting.

[00:21:16] Except there's no fall damage, so I haven't quite figured out what the gliders for.

[00:21:19] Oh, there's fall damage.

[00:21:20] There's fall damage.

[00:21:21] Yeah.

[00:21:22] There's fall damage.

[00:21:23] It's just not falling high enough.

[00:21:25] It's, yeah, it's, it's just higher than you would think.

[00:21:28] It's very generous fall damage.

[00:21:30] Yeah.

[00:21:31] Like, yeah, it's quite forgiving, but yes, I have fallen to my death before.

[00:21:36] All into the world is.

[00:21:39] I was flying and I was trying to reach a very high peak and I went to press D to go to the right and do you know what key D is next to you?

[00:21:50] Yeah, I've got it.

[00:21:51] Yeah.

[00:21:52] That's why I keep losing on my pow balls too is because it's right next to W.

[00:21:55] Well, okay.

[00:21:57] On the other direction.

[00:21:58] So I went from playing power world where everything is interaction is F to playing Witcher, where F is one of your consumable slots.

[00:22:08] And I just ate all of my potions.

[00:22:12] Just, you know, hey, look, I need to go talk to the butcher.

[00:22:16] Thunderbolt.

[00:22:17] Hey, I need to go talk to the, I need to go like, look at my stash.

[00:22:21] Thunderbolt.

[00:22:22] Look.

[00:22:23] That's honestly, that's why I played with.

[00:22:25] You know, I found that right.

[00:22:26] What's that?

[00:22:27] What's that?

[00:22:28] I said, I'm laughing, but you know, I feel bad, right?

[00:22:30] Yeah.

[00:22:31] Yeah.

[00:22:32] Jake, what were you going to say?

[00:22:33] Yeah.

[00:22:34] So, I mean, that's, I had the same issue.

[00:22:35] Like, I mean, I tried reminding throw Pal Sphere to control or something just because I wanted to be able to sprint easier.

[00:22:40] And I didn't want to waste my, my pow balls.

[00:22:42] But ultimately because of my hand pain, I just wish to control her.

[00:22:45] This game, considering controls pretty decently with an Xbox X controller.

[00:22:50] Probably plays better on a Playstation 5 one.

[00:22:53] It's a shame because I wanted to try this on the Steam deck.

[00:22:55] You say that you hateful, spiteful Dr. Pepper drinker, but you know, it's not, it's not, PS5 is not a great controller, but that's a different topic.

[00:23:04] No, it's just, no.

[00:23:06] Look, we, we saw the picture today that you sent of the mistaken Canadian Dr. Pepper called Dr. Cooper.

[00:23:14] I understand why I think it's bad.

[00:23:17] There's definitely reasoning behind it.

[00:23:19] Now we're getting it.

[00:23:20] Dr. Cooper is a core memory unlocked for me.

[00:23:23] Okay.

[00:23:24] And for any other person in the kid in Canada who grew up with garbage pill kids, that's where that comes from.

[00:23:29] That sticker.

[00:23:30] Yeah.

[00:23:31] Yeah.

[00:23:34] Now this, this is neat.

[00:23:35] And, and there's another bonus that if you have friends that are at higher levels, they can make you like harnesses and things and saddles and shit.

[00:23:43] So you can ride some of your higher tiered creatures.

[00:23:45] So it's not like just because you're level five and you're hanging out with a level 40, they can still get you the equipment you need.

[00:23:53] You don't have to be at that level.

[00:23:55] It just have to be at that level to create it yourself.

[00:23:58] So.

[00:23:59] Right.

[00:24:00] And another thing with that is that those items, like you can unlock the tier of the tech tree that they're in.

[00:24:06] And if you haven't acquired the proper pal, it's hidden behind a box.

[00:24:11] You don't know what the piece of equipment is until you have acquired the pal, which is kind of cool.

[00:24:17] No, I like that.

[00:24:18] It keeps the mystery.

[00:24:19] And there's like a lot of stuff in that tech tree.

[00:24:21] Like it's an expensive, there's a lot in the tech tree.

[00:24:23] And as much as I wish you you unlocked a saddle, maybe just wants to ride any pal, I kind of see why they make specific pal tech tree items.

[00:24:31] Right. There's, well, there's different ones. Right. So, yeah, like if you want to use the Fox tries a flamethrower, that's a tech unlock you have to do. And it's just for that, that pal.

[00:24:39] This is very much like I made the life monk assault rifle, and I was just rocking with the whole full party of life monks.

[00:24:47] And I was just switching them out. I'm like, okay, now you get the gun.

[00:24:50] Now you get the gun.

[00:24:51] Nice. Just handing it down.

[00:24:53] No, this.

[00:24:54] The different saddles unlocking a different tears is very much a direct ripoff from arc. That is, that is very arc arc. You basically get a saddle for like the frog one, and then you get a saddle for the branosaurus and you get a saddle for.

[00:25:10] Yeah.

[00:25:11] So that's very much arc. In fact, the tech tree feels, I looked at it the first time, I'm like, Oh, somebody played arc.

[00:25:19] Mm hmm. Mm hmm. So, it makes sense. Yeah.

[00:25:23] Yeah. When I came into this game, I was expecting more valheim, and it really isn't. I think, I think after watching some video of arc, I definitely see the building blocks there.

[00:25:32] There's another survival game that distress test take called Nightingale, and it feels very much like arc and pal world to a degree. Not nearly as good mind you, but it definitely feels like that template.

[00:25:43] Which don't laugh at me. I'm sorry. Char, Char's laughing at me because I'm laughing. Yeah, Jake's, and I'll explain it. So it's literally two series of emotions within an hour.

[00:25:56] And they were back to back on it. It was like, it was thrilled. And then it was not so good. And it just, it was just the way it was presented just makes me laugh.

[00:26:06] And I'm, it's so, well, so here's the thing, right? So I've been, I've been playing valheim for at least a year and a half, two years now, and I love valheim, but it's not done. It's still an early access.

[00:26:15] I feel like it's going to be an early access for another three years. So I'm looking for another kind of those games. So I have played pal world with you guys and it was a blast, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

[00:26:25] It doesn't have quite the same base building. So there's this game called Nightingale that's done by a former BioWare devs.

[00:26:32] And it looked fantastic with, with different procedurally generated maps, different biomes, different alkalines, cool stuff, Steampunk. I always take Steampunk. A lot of great stuff.

[00:26:42] So I've been really hyped for that game. So when I saw it was a stress test today, I'm like, you know what? I'm going to go try it. I got an hour. I'll go play it.

[00:26:50] I was went from being so freaking excited. Like I'm literally messaging the guys. It's an a stress test. This game's going to be awesome.

[00:26:57] We should all get it. Download fast enough. Yeah. Yeah. And then within 30 minutes, I'm like, this game sucks. Combat feels jank. I'm being attacked by all the wildlife right off the bat.

[00:27:08] I'm not installing this shit. And I installed it within 20 minutes. And I know it's a stress test. I know it's early. I'm surely fine. But then I went from being so hyped for this game to just declaring a hot garbage and being done with it, at least until it started back early.

[00:27:22] Jake, if you're looking for another game like that, and you haven't played arc play arc. It's just about how old is arc. Now, though, that's like seven years. That's what matters. From what I understand, they're still like updating it and adding stuff to it. Yeah, they're actively working on it. So you.

[00:27:39] Even if they aren't, that game is so fun. I think it is what you are looking for and it's a complete game. It's very fleshed out. You will die a lot. You will die a lot. That's fine.

[00:27:50] For me, the base building is what I like the most. Like how his base building is second to none, right? That's why I wasn't sure.

[00:27:56] The only thing that you'll miss out on with arc that you that you've expressed a desire for is the dynamically generated worlds.

[00:28:04] Yeah, it is a static world, but so is power world. Yeah, power world. Yes. But, like, since you said arc, though, has DLC maps or other maps. You can load up multiple maps.

[00:28:14] And that's probably a good compromise for me. Like, I really only like the procedural maps in Valheim because it means when I play with new friends or new server, it's different. All right, it's not.

[00:28:23] I don't there's elements of the handcrafted map that is pretty cool. I do like how power world has that handcrafted field to it. And it's nice.

[00:28:30] And they compromise with dungeons being at random locations at times. That's pretty cool. So then there's bio. They blend it together. Like different locations. That's like desert and forest.

[00:28:39] And you can pick where you start, right? Yeah. I mean, the next time I play power world with another group, I can always pick the northern area or something.

[00:28:45] And that's very arc as well. Arc, you pick your starting area. There's a number of the different areas to choose from.

[00:28:51] And then the maps, the maps actually have they have kind of like a Venn diagram overlay of dinosaurs. But one map will have certain dinosaurs that are only for that map.

[00:29:05] And then the other one has like even a little bit cybernetic style. So if you're like, okay, I want a little bit more steam hunky. I can do. Yeah.

[00:29:14] So, yep, it's a cool game. Yeah. And the dungeons are great in it. Super hard. The dungeons are super hard in the park. But.

[00:29:28] Can I recommend that Jake does not start arc until he finishes his frickin sissafian game so he doesn't have to spend the wheel of poor start to look at his frickin game? Look, I mean, I will install Street Fighter six.

[00:29:42] Before December, I promise you that. Oh, thank God. I don't get that diamond rank.

[00:29:48] I anticipate no problem. It's not Balto. She's.

[00:29:50] No, with G.P. has some good stories about our key one. I did play it. So I brought him into it into our server. And the first thing sinister did was take him into one of the dungeons and get him killed. And then we had to go back like six times to try to get our shit back in the other thing that we did was I was like here, let's go flying.

[00:30:12] So I had him, you know, jump on one of the I think it was a tear and don and you're flying and he hit like we landed on this really high bridge so you can get this view of everything that was around because it was beautiful.

[00:30:23] He fell off of it. Oh, he jumped off. He straight jumped off the bird and like down the cliff.

[00:30:30] It was never funny. Never disappointing. That's so cheap. I wish I were streaming this so I could like record that because it was so cool just watching him like.

[00:30:42] I've never played the only the only survival type game that I have played has been Balheim and this never played arc and never touched cone in exile and the forest and the forest.

[00:30:53] Okay, do you count that as the same kind of thing though I mean really to a degree to a degree.

[00:31:00] It's that it's that open world light base building.

[00:31:04] Yes.

[00:31:05] Yeah, I was thinking it's more of a survival.

[00:31:07] level horror instead of a, you know, like a power up kind of thing. So, um, but yeah,

[00:31:12] I mean, you're still building bases and still doing your shit out there. So that makes sense.

[00:31:15] I'm saying you can't play arc anymore. You have to play arc two. Is that true? Is that

[00:31:21] how we get? I heard about arc two. Yeah. Yeah. I would know. So yeah. Yeah. But yeah, I was,

[00:31:30] I was coerced, coerced into trying this, this little gym out. And I'm glad I did because

[00:31:36] Jake's initial pick on this game was Jake's typical opinion about games. It was like,

[00:31:43] well, it looks janky. I don't know. I don't know why everybody likes this game. It looks

[00:31:47] yeah, bro. It's not. It's not super generally be fair. It's not it's not procedural. It's

[00:31:54] not procedural. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. It's not a procedural

[00:31:56] map. It's a campaign of maps. And, um, of course, the sins we're playing it. I don't

[00:32:02] know what the extent of star was, but sinister stress was with our, our very close friend

[00:32:06] Bridget and tag along Straybie. And, um, I was, I was coerced into picking this game

[00:32:13] up. So I did. And I had it. I got it on sale because it was the first day. I think it was

[00:32:17] released. And I'll tell you what, we played it for a long goddamn time. And sinister stresses

[00:32:23] are wrong. It can say I'm not in the huge, like base bill, baby, I'm not in the best

[00:32:28] but I want to see the creatures. I want to go catch all the shit. I want to get the upgrades

[00:32:33] and all this. I could give a crap if I've got four walls or not. I died. Doesn't, that

[00:32:37] does not, um, peak my interest as it does. Like Jakes and everybody else's. I'm just

[00:32:42] out there to fucking fly around and shoot shit. And, uh, they gave me a bat. Lots of

[00:32:46] that. And there was bat justice and just a pummeling one of the pummeling one of the

[00:32:53] sheples at the very beginning of the game pretty much sold me on the rest of this goddamn game.

[00:32:58] Well, you realized there's bat justice. Yeah. I mean, of course there's, there's ragdoll

[00:33:04] physics because there isn't everything. But the imagination of, of watching a ball sheep

[00:33:10] fly across the screen after you kick the shit out of it with a hat with, of course, you

[00:33:14] know, the swirls that said out eyes. Yeah. I was like, yeah, God damn it. This is great.

[00:33:21] So I sold I radically and, and, and Chongas. I mean, once you see Chongas and striping

[00:33:27] the posting pictures of Chongas everywhere we go. We're, Chongas approved. There's, there's

[00:33:32] this, there's this corgi version of like a lamb that's massive, but it has like corgi

[00:33:38] legs. It's like these little baby be short legs. And it's just this big, big Chongas.

[00:33:44] And, and it's actually a boss. It's hard. Yeah. It's fun. And some of us are tricky, actually.

[00:33:53] And it's, and it's learning the, I'm gonna say it again. It's like the Pokemon thing,

[00:33:56] right? Where you got to use this type versus this type. It helps you fight the bosses a

[00:34:00] little bit easier. So there is some strategy to it instead of just having this cool look

[00:34:05] and pals support you. There's like, no, I need something that will work against water

[00:34:10] or fire or grass or whatever the hell it is. Right. And it's, it's really neat. It's not

[00:34:13] just balls to the wall. There's, there's definitely some thought needs to be put into

[00:34:16] it. I think it's pretty clever. Yeah. So like building your party of pals is actually

[00:34:21] pretty interesting, more so than I think in Pokemon a lot of the ways. Like there's definitely

[00:34:25] elemental types, but I think it's the, what's the owl's name? Hooting, hooting tins or something.

[00:34:31] But yeah.

[00:34:34] Two meaties or something. Yeah. That's what it is. Yeah. So you, you have him and he

[00:34:40] get makes it so that any other dark Pokemon, sorry. Who is he? Who creases? Who creases?

[00:34:45] Thank you. Great. Thank you, Bridget. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So you have him in your party

[00:34:49] and he gives 15% damage or something to every other dark Pokemon in your, in your group.

[00:34:54] But then there's another one where if you get the upgrade for it, it's like a cloud puff

[00:34:58] ball thing, but it's also a dark one. But just having that equipped means they stay out

[00:35:03] all the time. Even if you switch to a different pal, you now have two pals. Yeah. And I've

[00:35:07] seen people build like three or four of those in their team and have them all flying around

[00:35:11] them at the same time. And it ends up being quite broken. But that's the fun of this game

[00:35:15] is finding the breaking, game breaking combos. That's where the fun is in this, I think.

[00:35:20] Yeah. You're talking the daydream necklace or whatever with the dark ones with the glowy

[00:35:25] slurry or as I call them, night bullets or I call it this this bitch. Also, but this bitch

[00:35:34] you could be talking about anything. This bitch or the thickness. I, my biggest appreciation

[00:35:42] of this game is the ability to name inappropriate aims for all of your pals, which all of us

[00:35:48] have done. And I think the more entertaining thing is thinking you're innocent. You actually

[00:35:54] give them legit names? No, I don't give them names. I leave them as they are, except for

[00:35:59] Linda. My name is my cow moon Linda. She learned when we had chickens, you don't name

[00:36:04] your food. That's fair. I think within five minutes, I named the, the cat chart to just

[00:36:13] because when you're, when you're on the base and you assign your pals to work in the base,

[00:36:17] they eventually slack off. So you get messages to the server. So it's like, chart to was

[00:36:22] lacking off. So great. That checks, but that checks out. No, there are so many aspects

[00:36:31] of this game that are, that are like, if you want to play, if you want to just go out and

[00:36:35] murder Hobo, you can do that all day long. And you'll level. I mean, the only thing you

[00:36:40] have to do is have enough base to like maintain your armor and your weapons, like, and, you

[00:36:44] know, Poke Balls, if you want. But if you want to do the base building aspect, that's

[00:36:51] a full thing. If you want to find eggs and hatch, that's a full thing. If you want to

[00:36:56] breed them, that's a full thing. Yeah, you can breed them too. Yeah. Well, soon to start

[00:37:00] in that regard, I think you and I are a really good team because you like to go out and murder

[00:37:05] all the shit. And I managed the resources so that you can just go out and roll the shit

[00:37:09] and I'll write along with it. But I am the one that manages the, in our relationship,

[00:37:13] we do have more than that in the server. Like Bridget is carrying basically everybody,

[00:37:19] but I'm, you know, I do, I go out and I make resource runs and I do all this stuff that

[00:37:24] like behind the scenes to do that. And I love a little bit of his finding. And that's what

[00:37:30] I'm saying. You know, how you play, right? You can gain XP pretty easily. Sorry, Charles.

[00:37:34] No, it's fine. I was just when, when you pop in and everybody's level 40 after a week.

[00:37:41] And I'm like, well, at least I'm 15, you know, like, let's go destroy everything. And I'm

[00:37:47] like, OK, or your friends, or your friends, or your friends say, yeah, go talk to this

[00:37:53] beginning character. Yeah, they'll go put if you punch him and punch us one. They're gonna

[00:37:59] be wood. They don't give you another. None of them give you wood. Oh, they send the cops

[00:38:04] on you with a shotgun. Yeah. Or you get blasted in the face of the musket.

[00:38:09] How weird is that though that this game starts you off with a wood bat and then you progress

[00:38:13] up the tree to it's in like laser guns is the final tier or something ridiculous. Probably

[00:38:18] it's like all the technology levels. It's it's bizarre. Yeah, great. It's like the

[00:38:24] nations, but with Pokemon. Yeah, it's not just it's not just like, you know, fantasy only

[00:38:32] you get you get machinery and weapons eventually. Yeah, it's cool. That's really cool. I mean,

[00:38:37] you'd start with bows and arrows and then you level up to crossbows and then you get

[00:38:42] like a broken pistol and then you get like an actual nine millimeter and then it's an

[00:38:47] AK and then it's an assault rifle and just keeps climbing and climbing into like, what

[00:38:51] the fuck? I'm hunting. Why do I need a nine four? What do I need a clock because because

[00:38:58] some of these Pokemon are deadly and you need to what do you call rad fat type? It's not

[00:39:03] the term to get you. I don't know. Yeah, take these things down. What's what's crossbows

[00:39:07] ridiculous? What's the nature of our times? The parlances of our times. You got to pop

[00:39:14] a cap and you got to pop a cap and a pal homie. I don't know what Gen Z calls their Pokemon

[00:39:20] hunting, but it's something like that. But it's definitely wild. And that's why when this

[00:39:24] game first came out and I saw it, I thought this is probably fun. It's probably janky.

[00:39:29] It's probably funny as hell. But it almost feels like it was an asset flip. Do you know

[00:39:34] what I'm talking about where people will go and buy those free assets and make a quick

[00:39:37] game and throw it up on steam? That's what the vibe I was getting. But it's totally not.

[00:39:42] It's a lot more fleshed out of a game. They definitely made their own assets. It's more

[00:39:46] than I thought it was. It's not yes is janky. Yes, it's very mean worthy, but it's actually

[00:39:51] a lot of work went into this game and it's just bizarre. Yeah. It flows so well though.

[00:39:58] Like you wouldn't I mean, there's early access points to it. But when you fire it up and

[00:40:02] you step into the world, you're like, this seems pretty well thought out like for the

[00:40:08] most part, but it's it's it's in my own and breath of the wild and you smash them together

[00:40:13] and you get the game that everybody's been asking for for fucking 400 years. It's it's

[00:40:18] just really well done. I'm sorry to do that. One thing that I noticed in this game that

[00:40:25] I don't think I have ever seen in a game before is like literally from the very first start.

[00:40:30] There is a path that winds that you can follow to get everywhere you need to go. Like it's

[00:40:35] literally a path. If you stay on the path, you will find all of the things that you need

[00:40:38] to find. It's nice. I just thought that was so cool.

[00:40:43] You can just be lying to the next thing and and pick up, you know, wave wave points as

[00:40:47] you go. But like any other game, you get off the beaten path, you're going to find something

[00:40:51] that you probably don't want to run into just yet. But you can just you can just cruise

[00:40:55] around and take your time on it. And you don't feel I've died a couple times. It's

[00:41:00] some areas I shouldn't have been. But even so, I'm not like, well, that's all lost. You

[00:41:06] can still get to your stuff relatively quickly and and yeah, don't aggro on you super hard

[00:41:11] real quick. Like they don't jump on you like a like a snake. You have time to be like,

[00:41:16] Oh, this is a poor decision. I should probably leave. So yeah, when you push your lock in

[00:41:21] and into dangerous area, it's on you when you die. And it doesn't feel like it's too

[00:41:26] egregious. And also, I think there's also server settings that you can tweak to make

[00:41:29] it a little bit easier. I think that's the start for your server. You have it set so

[00:41:32] that you don't drop all your equipment and all your pals on death. I think it's a little

[00:41:36] bit easier for you. You only drop your you only drop your items. So anything that's equipped

[00:41:40] and your pals stay with you after death. The only thing that drops is is items in your

[00:41:45] inventory that are not in use. And that's how my my game was also that you got a couple

[00:41:52] of good deaths in there. I forgot how hard early area is and and got a little bit cocky.

[00:41:58] Did not work. But there's also way so many waypoints that you can spawn in easy enough

[00:42:05] that your stuff when you need to well design. Late area or late game areas of the world,

[00:42:11] there are actually a lot fewer waypoints. But at the beginning, yeah, when you're leveling

[00:42:15] up and you know, they're like, yeah, you're going to die a lot. But there are stretches

[00:42:19] later on in the game that it's a little rough. Can be definitely can be, especially when

[00:42:26] all your pals are 45 and you're a 15 running around with big boys and big girls. You're

[00:42:32] like, maybe I got a pea shooter. I don't know what what point of damage I'm helping.

[00:42:39] You know, it sounds it sounds like you you're gonna have to do a lot of burn and work on

[00:42:44] your new video card. I'm going to have to. Definitely once. Yeah, I know. Boo hoo. Yeah,

[00:42:50] it's gonna be great. Awesome. Well, I know we're trying to keep our podcast a little

[00:42:59] bit shorter than our hour and a half. Any other impressions that you all want to call

[00:43:05] out? Yeah. So, so for me, for this type of game, I really do like the base building parts

[00:43:12] of these kind of games. I still think Valheim is probably better in terms of the base building.

[00:43:17] The power roll is okay. It's certainly fine. You can definitely do quite a bit with the

[00:43:21] walls and putting things together. There's multiple train types that you can build with

[00:43:26] and I appreciate that. It's great. And there's tons of decorating stuff here from plants

[00:43:30] and tables and it's neat. But I really like how in Valheim, you're building things more

[00:43:35] piece by piece like beam by beam, you know, rafters by rafters. I like that style a

[00:43:40] bit more. But what's in power? This still pretty pretty interesting. I guess my one concern,

[00:43:46] though, is I guess stuff degrades over time. Like Valheim stuff degrades depending on the

[00:43:51] weather. But if you build a window, stuff will stay together. But in power, I think it's

[00:43:54] a bit different. The way that is in power world is if it is within your base, it won't

[00:44:02] degrade per se, but it can take damage. If it's outside the base, it will degrade over

[00:44:07] time. So that's the difference in the base. It won't degrade, but it will take damage.

[00:44:11] Okay. Okay. So that's the thing to you. Because in Valheim, you can build wherever you want.

[00:44:16] But in power world, we weren't building off of the defined basis because there's limited

[00:44:20] in terms of how many bases you can have. But you can build anywhere on the map. It just

[00:44:23] will degrade over time, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. And pal world, you set up the pal box and

[00:44:29] the pal box generates a sphere, essentially around you. Yeah. And that's your base. And

[00:44:38] currently you can have a max of three bases, which I think unlocks as you level as well.

[00:44:45] Like you can get up to three. You guys are level 40 ish now. I'm with Charlotte. I'm

[00:44:54] still packing like in the teens. I'm just pretty so far. You guys have gotten how many

[00:44:57] bases do you guys have unlocked now? Okay. So the bases are based on your first base level.

[00:45:03] So your primary base, you have objectives that you have to attain in order to get the

[00:45:09] next level base. And that allows you to add more pals to your workforce in your base.

[00:45:14] And then also allows you to unlock more bases. So three is the maximum. And it's based on

[00:45:20] your first initial pal base level. It's not based on player level at all. Okay. Okay.

[00:45:30] Interesting. Yeah. I didn't know that there's what there is. So I know when I was playing

[00:45:35] with you guys, the tutorial kind of finishes with you doing one of the towers and you kind

[00:45:40] of get like a fake Pokemon battle with a giant boss that actually has a trainer and

[00:45:43] you kind of do it against that. That was fun. And I think there's four more of those I think

[00:45:48] on the map. Have you ever done any of those yet? I have not done any out of the towers

[00:45:52] from the first one, but there are the bosses smattered throughout the land. Yeah, there's

[00:45:58] there's kind of I guess I would call them mini bosses all over the all over the world.

[00:46:05] The towers I think do have like I know for sure the first tower has a boss in it. That's

[00:46:10] like a cutscene style boss, but there are as you as you travel around the map, you get

[00:46:15] little little markers and they are essentially higher leveled versions of of the existing

[00:46:22] pal types like a new business one that I was talking about. That's a that's a boss that

[00:46:29] is a it's I guess a mini boss, right? Doesn't have a cutscene, but it it still will eat your

[00:46:35] face if it if it gets. I have seen I have gotten close enough to remove the

[00:46:41] What is it that the?

[00:46:43] Fog of war from the tower that's in the snow, but I didn't have the equipment to actually go in and put down the or get the waypoint

[00:46:53] But I know that there is another one in the in the cold

[00:46:57] So that's pretty good then if you guys a level 40 ish. I mean you guys been playing dozens of hours since it came out

[00:47:03] I've seen you guys in discord. So for you to be that many hours into the game, but we haven't done any other towers

[00:47:09] That's actually that's actually quite a lot of gameplay. That's more than expected. Yeah

[00:47:12] The map is surprisingly large. Yeah, when I play these games, I grind the low level stuff like mad

[00:47:21] Like I know that I can get all of the stuff that I need for like the first

[00:47:24] really two

[00:47:27] three

[00:47:28] Tears of armor and stuff like I can get that in the early area

[00:47:33] Why would I go fight all that hard shit if I don't have to like that's the way that I play I am very conservative player

[00:47:39] When it comes to putting myself at personal risk and I am an adrenaline junkie

[00:47:44] That is correct. He I will tag along when he's doing it

[00:47:49] But I will not myself go out and into the D. Yeah, I'm like hey, I'm level 28. I found this level 40 boss

[00:47:55] Who wants in? Yeah, it's I'm just I'm the same way. I'm like let's go kill all the shit

[00:48:00] Which is does just why you guys are besties and Rogan. I are besties

[00:48:04] But in this kind of game it works, right?

[00:48:07] And this is a game where it's I feel it's probably not so great to play in your own

[00:48:11] I think it's more fun to play with friends or play online with people. Yeah, I wouldn't play this game alone honestly

[00:48:17] No, but I would play it alone, but I it's better with friends. I will probably not finish the game on my own

[00:48:24] Right, I feel like I feel it the game is great

[00:48:27] It's fantastic and whatever path they plan on putting forward is gonna be great

[00:48:31] But it really is who we're doing it with I mean

[00:48:34] Obviously since our stress and playing with you guys Jake comes in and hangs out

[00:48:38] We have fun with him the rest of the crew the rest of the retro's most haunted crew is playing this with us

[00:48:44] So we already do group games with them already. So we already have our personalities and stuff

[00:48:49] It's just always always so much more fun to razz your friends and and then go out and attack some stuff

[00:48:56] and it's just it's it's it's a perfect marrying of

[00:49:00] Playing something with your friends and there's really cool concept coming together

[00:49:03] Yeah, absolutely it was obviously I think it's obviously way better because of the people I'm playing it with than what it

[00:49:10] Then it would it be by itself?

[00:49:12] But I'm I benefit from having those kinds of friends to play with so

[00:49:16] But it's still a great game, but it's better because of the people that I'm playing with I will I will second that

[00:49:22] Yeah

[00:49:26] awesome

[00:49:27] Jake I just noticed in your in your your attract mode on your on your arcade there something had some had a nice set of boobs

[00:49:35] It was great. It's that's the wonderful thing with the mystery. You just don't know what's gonna be on there

[00:49:41] We're sorry YouTube. It's okay. Well, I mean it was it was covered. It was

[00:49:48] You mean there's no boobs in pal world

[00:49:51] Actually, did you did you see what the pal? That wasn't our name is no? Yeah?

[00:49:56] Yeah, I'll number 69 is the love Pokemon or the love pal. It's got giant heart for its boobs

[00:50:00] Yeah, loveander. Yeah, there's also there's also a heart in another location

[00:50:05] Yeah, awesome

[00:50:12] Great cleverly done more done now

[00:50:14] I it's there's a lot of there feels like there's a lot of tongue-in-cheek in this game, too like they knew what they were doing and

[00:50:20] They they're probably sitting there

[00:50:22] Laughing going I can't believe we've got away with this as long as we've got well

[00:50:27] I'll be honest with you the the the similarity it really feels like

[00:50:32] It really feels like they did talk to a lawyer and the lawyers like

[00:50:37] You're probably okay. You're probably okay, right exactly like I'm sure like like air calls it what distinct pocket monsters or something?

[00:50:47] Distinctly distant Pokemon or some shit. Yeah, and I'm sure that they were like are we gonna get?

[00:50:53] Like we can hammer on this and they're like no, there's enough subtle differences in here

[00:50:58] We probably get it well. So this is not I mean you got remember Pokemon is a TV show came up first right or no

[00:51:04] Sorry game first then TV show but for the for the anime when it was at its peak you had you had rip-offs of that right?

[00:51:10] You didn't want to make the Pokemon what there's no long ones there

[00:51:14] Yeah, like I know somebody was posting on on Twitter about how Japan law there's there's no fair use law over there

[00:51:20] Oh for sure, but so it's a bit different, but this company

[00:51:23] It's not like this is a western company either

[00:51:25] This is a this is a Japanese company and from what I understand their head office is like just down

[00:51:30] I mean a few kilometers down the road from the Pokemon companies at office

[00:51:33] So they're like if Nintendo want to send over the lawyers. They probably would have by now. I think yeah

[00:51:38] Yeah, that's the shirt. I love it

[00:51:42] Well, I mean, even if they did get sued

[00:51:44] I don't think they could ever take away all the money that this game has made because holy shit

[00:51:49] It is insane. I personally I like I think I had heard the name

[00:51:53] But I'm like that doesn't have any interest for me at all. Don't care

[00:51:56] And then bridge it was streaming it to charts discord and I popped in just you know

[00:52:03] To say hi and see what was happening and I was like I'm watching I'm you're climbing the walls you're climbing the walls

[00:52:09] Oh, I know you're swimming. Oh, and now you're okay. This looks fun. This looks really fun

[00:52:13] So I bought it and then you know four days gone boom

[00:52:18] Yeah, we brought it up in a previous episode which actually the cover of it has Pikachu with an 8k 47

[00:52:24] Yeah

[00:52:31] Yeah, like when I saw the trailer

[00:52:33] There's a few trailers that came together packaged together and one of them was the Pokemon's with the guns

[00:52:37] And I'm like I got to at least try that game or at least look into it and the other one part of that too was

[00:52:41] Squirrel with a gun literally that's the name of the game scroll

[00:52:44] Later this year. There's a few games that were advertised last year where it's just like obviously they know what they're targeting

[00:52:51] They know what they're doing. Mm-hmm. Actually, it's funny cuz since are you had messaged me earlier this week a

[00:52:56] Video about one of the pals being butchered and cooked yeah, which is hilariously dark

[00:53:01] I clicked on the link all the way. I didn't realize that video was posted by pal world's official Twitter

[00:53:08] Yes, they definitely know what they're doing, right? They definitely know that the angle they're going with this game

[00:53:13] It's funny I posted that just for two cuz I think I think

[00:53:16] Bridge it posted it in our rm h discount. So I had to throw that up on our thing

[00:53:21] Yeah, immediately thought of Jake

[00:53:24] Was it butchering me? He likes to cut what you're one to the mall. You know, yeah, you know yeah

[00:53:31] I think I think I actually I what had happened is I heard about this game and I looked at it

[00:53:35] And I thought that is so gimmicky and it's gonna be garbage. And so I just threw it out of my brain and no

[00:53:42] It's a great game. I'm enjoying the hell out of it

[00:53:44] Yeah, that's nice

[00:53:46] Awesome

[00:53:48] Well, any other impressions or thoughts? I

[00:53:51] Love I love likely finished a sore. Yeah, I love I love my derpy looking relax the story

[00:53:58] I love the derpy looking dinosaurs that they have it's it's so

[00:54:03] Stupid if anything, it's just fun to see what they've created creature wise in my opinion

[00:54:09] You know the base building and all that stuff. That's super fun. If that's your thing go for it

[00:54:13] That's awesome, and it's actually extremely

[00:54:15] Well thought out from what everybody's building and all that stuff, but but running around and seeing

[00:54:21] All these stupid things and then hitting them with a bat. You're just like am I really doing this right now like

[00:54:28] Is this really

[00:54:30] Well and watching watching the little octopussy dudes go go pick up like wood and it's like

[00:54:36] Oh, yeah, it's some serious thing. It's neat. It's a neat game. It's worth the 30 bucks

[00:54:44] It's not even a fucking no price to game

[00:54:47] It's it's absolutely worth it and you get the right crew of people get your friends together

[00:54:51] You will be at this for hours. It is it is that fun in that entertaining

[00:54:56] And honestly, if you don't want to pay the $30 right away. It's on game pass Xbox game pass PC

[00:55:03] Yeah, pass you can you sign up for the ten bucks and play it and honestly

[00:55:06] It's worth the 30, but if you really aren't sure game pass is a great way to play this game. Absolutely. Sure. Yep. Absolutely

[00:55:12] excellent

[00:55:14] Well, I said this before and I'll say it again Nintendo don't so us please

[00:55:19] For for talking about your games. I mean somebody else's games that are like your games

[00:55:24] It looks like your games, but are not at all your games better than your game

[00:55:28] We just lost a whole bunch of viewership we lost the Pokemon crowd right there

[00:55:35] Okay, anyway, no

[00:55:40] I love the game as well. So I think I think it's worth a play for sure

[00:55:46] Why don't we go around and see what everybody's up to let's start with chard. What are you up to?

[00:55:53] I

[00:55:55] Still going through my CSP in game of horizon zero Don playing that over on Twitch

[00:56:00] Www twitch.tv/jardpunk you can catch me Thursdays Saturdays and Sundays

[00:56:06] Fridays you'll catch me here. I am getting a new video card in this weekend as I stated earlier

[00:56:12] So I'm gonna be doing some computer repair this weekend and hope that I can stream

[00:56:16] Because the card is doing when I'm supposed to go live and I'm sorry if that thing comes in

[00:56:20] We're gonna be waiting a couple days

[00:56:23] Go live again because I want to see

[00:56:25] So yeah, so we're doing computer repair this weekend, but zero Don's still going strong

[00:56:31] We're finally getting back into main story inside quest stuff. All the collectibles are knocked out

[00:56:35] So yeah, sis the fiend game continues over on my channel

[00:56:38] Yeah, Jake, how about you?

[00:56:41] I'm still putting together a video on the arcade stick behind me. I did install a modification that makes an analog

[00:56:48] So I'm still working through that. I had to get a soldering kit

[00:56:51] So I'm working on that and hopefully get done the next week or so

[00:56:53] As well a bunch of us pretty much of also except for GP. I think wasn't there

[00:56:58] We did a guest spot on another podcast super pot saga

[00:57:02] So if you want to check them out there an audio podcast check them out where you listen to potty cuss and

[00:57:06] Super pot saga. We talked about fifth gen consoles. It was almost two hours long

[00:57:11] Comes at a Monday

[00:57:14] Yeah, we never talked too much like that, but it was it was a good time

[00:57:19] So be sure to listen to that and I know for press B

[00:57:22] We got a couple guests lined up over the next few weeks

[00:57:24] So we'll we'll drop them in our discord and on Twitter when they when they show up

[00:57:28] Speaking of our guests the amazing since risk was with us again

[00:57:34] Since risk, what are you up to you have news from the last?

[00:57:37] Yeah, I have been streaming

[00:57:41] I started streaming a little over a month ago and I'm just having a blast with it. Um right now

[00:57:46] I'm doing Mondays and Thursdays. I may branch out try to do something a little bit different

[00:57:50] But I'm just having a blast. Um, I love it when people come join me and hang out while I play video games and

[00:57:57] Spew out the things that come into my brain

[00:58:01] Yeah, it's awesome. It's awesome

[00:58:03] I'm really glad she's doing that

[00:58:07] and I

[00:58:09] I'm here. I have been working on my sissafian game as well

[00:58:14] It looks like we have at least at least a new a new viewer new listener

[00:58:19] So sissafian game is a concept that we came up with as a team where every year we name a game that we never completed

[00:58:25] Whether it was too hard or we just bounced off of it

[00:58:29] But it's a game that we always feel like we should have beaten so we pick a game

[00:58:33] And we we started let's see I started with Super Mario. I never completed it. I did the wheel of pain

[00:58:39] Last year I did corona trigger. I did complete it

[00:58:43] Jake was the only outlier this last year. So he's going to have to do his wheel of pain

[00:58:48] But what's the what's the game Buck Bumble which Buck Bumble for the n64?

[00:58:54] Which has a bagging OST, but the game plays lousy. So I have to record two hours of me streaming that or playing through that

[00:58:59] So I'll be a fun time for everybody but me

[00:59:01] It's okay. Yeah

[00:59:04] You know, you're absolutely correct because dragons lair was great to watch it was a crowbarian

[00:59:10] I love that. The dragons lair NES

[00:59:13] Besides roller, not the video one. Yeah

[00:59:18] But my sissafian game is Witcher 3 and I've been loving it. I have been loving it

[00:59:22] I've put in 50 plus hours at this point

[00:59:24] Since the beginning of the year and that's what I'm working on when I'm not playing bow world

[00:59:30] I also want to say it was sinister

[00:59:33] I used to do this where he would play these games and I would like help him through it

[00:59:37] And it's been really awesome being able to be his helper again on his games

[00:59:40] That's helper best help for the record Jake

[00:59:43] I have 41.4 hours in horizon zero down right now. Just yeah, okay fine

[00:59:50] I have installed Street Fighter 6, but let me tell you something though

[01:00:00] You're fucked my friend. No, I'm not gonna finish your game. I will finish the ball

[01:00:04] I just won't be playing horizon forbidden west until after that's done

[01:00:08] That's all nine months from now deals got to go away

[01:00:11] Elden wait to play Elden ring or tree

[01:00:15] Tree

[01:00:29] We'll we'll put that in the discord as soon as we figure out a time for that
