[00:00:00] Hey everybody, welcome to Geek Addicts.

[00:00:41] It already started.

[00:00:43] Ah, shit. Welcome to Geek Addicts, the pop culture podcast where we talk about all the crap that happened this year. I'm Matt and this is Bill. How's it going, Bill?

[00:00:53] Oh, 2024 just kinda... This has been both a long year and one of the quickest years I think we've had in a long time.

[00:01:02] Yeah, that tends to happen a lot. Like, the older we get, the more dragged out every year seems to be, but also the faster it goes. It's kind of a weird paradox that happens.

[00:01:14] Like, this year went by so fast, but I feel like I aged like 12 years this year.

[00:01:20] Oh, tell me about it. It's been something else. We lost a lot of good people this year, too. Fucking top of the list, of course, is Akira Toriyama, which I'm still kinda broken up about that.

[00:01:32] Yeah, it was a rough year overall. It seemed like every week.

[00:01:38] Yeah. We lost fucking James Earl Jones, Tony Todd, like... It's rough.

[00:01:49] Yeah. Thankfully, though, we're going into 2025. You know, everyone always says it might be a better year, but I swear to God, we say next year will be better and it never is.

[00:02:00] So, at this point, I'm just kinda like, it'll be a year. See what happens.

[00:02:05] Let's all be honest with ourselves. Every year is just like the last.

[00:02:09] Well, except for 2020, that was a special kinda crazy.

[00:02:13] That was... Well, I mean, 2021 was like probably the first year where it was better, but that was just kinda like...

[00:02:18] I don't think anything could have been worse than that.

[00:02:22] Yeah. That's true.

[00:02:24] So, how's things been with you, Bill? It's been a couple weeks since we recorded.

[00:02:28] We took a week off for Thanksgiving.

[00:02:30] That is true. Yeah.

[00:02:32] So, this is our end of the year episode, but you can probably tell by how we're talking that...

[00:02:37] We're recording this probably before the end of the year, before Christmas, so...

[00:02:41] Yeah.

[00:02:41] Just some context there.

[00:02:43] It was okay.

[00:02:44] Beginning of December.

[00:02:45] Yeah.

[00:02:47] A little context.

[00:02:50] Honestly, it's been alright.

[00:02:52] The last...

[00:02:54] Thanksgiving vacation was kind of strenuous.

[00:02:57] Like, that's...

[00:02:58] I love that time of year, but it's always like so much like shits going on.

[00:03:02] Black Friday was insane.

[00:03:05] Hmm.

[00:03:06] As always.

[00:03:07] Got most of my Christmas shopping done.

[00:03:11] So...

[00:03:11] Yeah.

[00:03:13] Cindy's been looking into...

[00:03:16] I guess like people have been starting to wake up and realize that Black Friday is bullshit.

[00:03:22] Yes.

[00:03:22] Because what?

[00:03:23] Because all the companies just friggin' like jack up the prices like a month or two before.

[00:03:27] And then they cut it down to like $10 more than it used to be.

[00:03:31] And they're like, look, it's 20% off.

[00:03:33] Yes.

[00:03:35] That's why you go to the like the mom and pop like little like small shops that actually still have the spirit of things.

[00:03:41] Mm-hmm.

[00:03:42] Yeah, that's pretty crazy.

[00:03:44] That's kind of what me and Alex did.

[00:03:46] At the time of this recording, I believe our episode hasn't come out yet, but by the time this releases, me and Alex did a whole episode talking about Black Friday and the adventures that we had.

[00:03:56] Yes.

[00:03:57] So fun.

[00:03:59] Enjoyed that one.

[00:04:01] Speaking of GNC, I listened to the most recent episode.

[00:04:06] And to be clear, well, I mean by the time this comes out, the episode that we have yet to record will have already come out.

[00:04:12] But I will be giving her shit in person about this.

[00:04:18] But, oh, it looks like Chris Sabat played this new character called Corrin.

[00:04:24] She doesn't know anything about Dragon Ball.

[00:04:27] I was sitting there shaking my head like, are you fucking serious?

[00:04:31] She's, her Dragon Ball experience is literally super.

[00:04:35] No, I know, I know, I know.

[00:04:37] It's just, it's just, I hear that and I'm like, oh my God.

[00:04:40] I held my tongue.

[00:04:41] I was like, uh, I'm not going to say it.

[00:04:46] This is like, you know what?

[00:04:47] I'm going to hold it.

[00:04:48] I'm going to hold it to her.

[00:04:49] She has to watch the rest of the Dragon Ball, at least Dragon Ball and Z next year, because if she doesn't, I'm going to sneak into her house and replace all of her one piece manga with Dragon Ball.

[00:05:04] I'm going to hold it to her.

[00:05:04] It'd be a lot of books to carry out and not as many to put in.

[00:05:07] I'm not going to lie.

[00:05:08] True.

[00:05:09] This is true.

[00:05:10] And in all honesty, if she wanted to read it, she could just borrow them from you, but, or read the one, shown and jump.

[00:05:16] Also, you'd have to get in there when she's not there.

[00:05:19] And that's like, never.

[00:05:20] So she.

[00:05:22] True.

[00:05:22] This is true.

[00:05:24] But, um, yeah, another, other updates.

[00:05:28] I guess people probably noticed from the start of this episode, but we have fancy new music now intro music.

[00:05:34] Yes.

[00:05:34] How do you like it, Bill?

[00:05:36] It's very anime.

[00:05:38] I kind of enjoy that.

[00:05:40] Yes.

[00:05:40] Jerry was very passionate about getting this.

[00:05:44] He wanted your reaction to it.

[00:05:45] So.

[00:05:47] No, I enjoyed it.

[00:05:48] It was, um, when I, when I listened to it, I'm like, ah, there's the Dragon Ball vibe.

[00:05:53] I was expecting.

[00:05:55] That's exactly what I told him to go for.

[00:05:58] He, he said, I think the way he put it was, uh, he, he was trying to make a theme for a Dragon Ball show that never happened.

[00:06:04] And I think he did a very good job with it.

[00:06:06] He did it.

[00:06:07] I'm very happy.

[00:06:09] It's very much what I imagined a theme for this show would be, um, that we couldn't do at the time because, um, we were still just figuring it out.

[00:06:23] Cause the, ironically, the, the current, the previous geek ad intro that I threw together in five minutes is very, um, somber.

[00:06:34] Kind of.

[00:06:35] Yeah.

[00:06:35] Well, I mean, that, that also kind of matches the two.

[00:06:37] Cause we're not like a super high energy podcast.

[00:06:40] Um, which I mean, I, I'm kind of hoping that we get a little bit more variation once we start getting guests on like some of the more like, you know, like Aaron and Thrak, like get some more high energy people in here every now and then.

[00:06:51] But, um, cause I don't know about you.

[00:06:55] I, I'm like one of those kinds of people who like, I feed off of the vibe of other people and you have a very chill vibe.

[00:07:02] So that just kind of gives this podcast a very like low key kind of feel to it.

[00:07:06] See, the funniest part about that is even though Aaron and Thrak definitely can like definitely show the personality more than we can, they both have the same like kind of low tone voices we do, which is kind of funny in hindsight.

[00:07:20] Well, I mean, it's a matter of perspective.

[00:07:23] I don't, I mean, I guess it depends on how I'm like what I'm saying, what I'm talking about, but I always felt like my voices on that, not like super high, but definitely not a low baritone.

[00:07:36] Yeah.

[00:07:37] No, I did enjoy it though.

[00:07:38] I didn't know that was going to be carbonated gross.

[00:07:43] That's okay.

[00:07:43] I mixed an energy drink with gin so that I'm seeing how that's going.

[00:07:47] Hey, you know, there's nothing wrong with a good Jager bomb.

[00:07:50] I mean, I know it's not a Jager bomb, but you know, the same concept.

[00:07:54] Don't yell at me people.

[00:07:55] I know what a Jager bomb is.

[00:07:57] So I was getting a, I needed caffeine, but I also want to have a good time.

[00:08:01] So I grabbed one of those like ghost energies because I have a bunch of them just chilling around.

[00:08:07] Wasn't he good?

[00:08:08] Some of them are some of them, not so much.

[00:08:10] Like some of them are like, that's too much.

[00:08:12] And some of them are kind of are pretty.

[00:08:15] Yeah.

[00:08:15] Right.

[00:08:17] The atomic warhead ones are actually surprisingly pretty good.

[00:08:20] I did try a couple of those, the game fuels.

[00:08:23] Cause I happened to see that they had them at a dollar store of all things, but those are actually pretty good.

[00:08:29] Cindy didn't like them, but I mean, she doesn't like anything that isn't just like a regular Red Bull.

[00:08:33] Cause you know, it's, it's a thing with her about like things that have too much sugar, which I mean, pretty much all energy drinks have a lot of sugar, but yeah.

[00:08:43] The, um, you can't taste it as much.

[00:08:46] The Celsius is don't have a ton, but they're also, but they can tend to be sweet though, depending on which one you get.

[00:08:54] I do like the Celsius though.

[00:08:55] Cause they have a shit ton of caffeine and, and they tend to be like the healthier choice as far as energy drinks go.

[00:09:02] Yeah.

[00:09:02] The ghosts, the ghosts aren't really bad.

[00:09:04] Like calorie wise.

[00:09:06] They're just kind of, they are very, some of them are very aggressive in their flavors.

[00:09:11] Hmm.

[00:09:12] Um, yeah.

[00:09:15] Other than that though, nothing too crazy, uh, going on mostly just, uh, we're getting through the end of the year.

[00:09:24] Um, I actually have anime updates for once.

[00:09:28] Cause I actually got a bunch of stuff watched, uh, recently.

[00:09:32] Nice.

[00:09:33] Um, I finished Oshinoko season two cause that ended, uh, today.

[00:09:37] Uh, all I'll say is holy shit.

[00:09:39] Um, a lot happens.

[00:09:42] Um, it, I'm not surprised season three has already announced.

[00:09:47] And, um, Akane is the best character.

[00:09:50] That's all I'll say.

[00:09:52] Fair enough.

[00:09:55] Um, the, the best non main character, I should say.

[00:09:59] Gotcha.

[00:09:59] Gotcha.

[00:10:00] Yeah.

[00:10:00] I'm definitely looking forward to seeing, uh, seeing where that show goes.

[00:10:04] Having only watched the first season so far.

[00:10:05] Uh, I really enjoyed what I saw.

[00:10:08] Um, I don't know.

[00:10:11] I don't really know where the show is going to go from this point.

[00:10:13] So it's, it's going to be, it's interesting.

[00:10:15] I've heard, I've heard tidbits from you and from a few other people.

[00:10:19] And yeah, I will just have to push past that.

[00:10:26] Well, you won't have to worry about that in season two.

[00:10:29] I mean, I still don't even know exactly.

[00:10:31] Cause I haven't seen the ending of the manga.

[00:10:33] I don't even know exactly if those theories even come true or not.

[00:10:36] So.

[00:10:38] It's just a, it's a weird situation.

[00:10:40] Like, I don't know.

[00:10:41] Yeah.

[00:10:41] The whole thing.

[00:10:42] You could tell, you could tell they were setting, setting something up in season one.

[00:10:46] And, uh, I don't know when it's going to come to any sort of fruition.

[00:10:51] Hopefully not completion, but.

[00:10:56] You'll see.

[00:10:57] Uh, don't worry about that.

[00:10:59] That's all I'll say.

[00:11:00] Yeah.

[00:11:01] Um, yeah.

[00:11:02] I have also watched a little bit.

[00:11:04] I, I technically have only watched one full show.

[00:11:07] I like dabbled a little bit, like rewatching some of you Hakus show and, um, a couple of just like whatever things like, uh, um, but I did watch it.

[00:11:18] It's entirety code Geass for the first time, which has been on my list for like literally over 10 years.

[00:11:23] So I finally crossed that one off.

[00:11:25] Uh, I enjoyed it a lot.

[00:11:26] I did not know it was a mech show.

[00:11:29] Yeah.

[00:11:29] I've been hearing about it for over a decade.

[00:11:31] Did not know it was a mech show.

[00:11:33] So that's on my list as well, because Alex won't shut up about it.

[00:11:36] I just, it's one of those ones that I'll get to it.

[00:11:39] Some point.

[00:11:40] It is very good.

[00:11:41] It's only two seasons.

[00:11:42] So, you know, it's, it's like a 50 episode.

[00:11:44] It's not, it's not super long.

[00:11:46] And the story does catch you.

[00:11:48] Like it's, it's really interesting.

[00:11:50] Like I, I definitely see why people always put it up with like shows like death note back in the day.

[00:11:56] Hmm.

[00:11:58] Did, um, last time we chatted, did we talk about, um, the, uh, I watched the vending machine show?

[00:12:07] Yes.

[00:12:08] Yes.

[00:12:08] We, we, we, we touched on it.

[00:12:11] Yes.

[00:12:11] I did see that.

[00:12:12] Um, it was, it was very much.

[00:12:16] All right.

[00:12:17] All right.

[00:12:17] I did.

[00:12:17] I referred to it as like, that was incredibly dumb, but entertaining at the same time.

[00:12:21] Hmm.

[00:12:21] Yeah.

[00:12:22] I think we also talked about it in the, um, the episode 200 of G and C.

[00:12:26] Right.

[00:12:28] Yeah, it was, I liked it.

[00:12:31] Um, that's about all I can say about it.

[00:12:33] Um, I also recently binged pretty much all of Kono Suba.

[00:12:38] Um, that show is very entertaining, um, in a lot of ways.

[00:12:44] Like it is, it's another isekai, but the reason why it's entertaining to me is it's an isekai where they're aware how dumb isekais are, where the whole gimmick is like the main characters kind of sucks at everything.

[00:12:55] Like he, um, you know, in traditional isekai fashion, he, uh, gets sent to the east, to the isekai world because he, uh, dies saving a person in a tragic thing.

[00:13:07] But then you find out rather than getting hit by a truck, like he thought he actually got hit by a slow moving tractor that didn't actually kill him.

[00:13:12] He just died from the heart attack from the stress.

[00:13:19] That is incredibly dumb and I love it.

[00:13:21] But then like the whole gimmick is like they have this party and they, they always, um, the whole gimmick is they're like very calculated, but then they suck at everything they do.

[00:13:31] Like, that's like their whole gimmick.

[00:13:33] They're like the worst, like, um, isekai party ever, but they somehow luck into a lot of shit.

[00:13:38] Yeah.

[00:13:39] It's just literally a show of like, isekais are dumb.

[00:13:42] Um, we're aware let's just play with that and go, go from here.

[00:13:46] Fair enough.

[00:13:47] Can't argue with that.

[00:13:49] Um, I watched all three seasons plus the movie and all the OVAs.

[00:13:54] I haven't watched the spinoff series yet.

[00:13:57] Hmm.

[00:13:58] Yeah.

[00:13:58] That's the one thing is I haven't watched the code geass movies yet, but, um, at least to my knowledge, I think the first three of them at least are just kind of like retellings of the show.

[00:14:08] So I figured there's no huge rush to watch those.

[00:14:10] I can always just circle back to those and watch them later.

[00:14:13] Um, and I've only, I've only gotten six episodes into it, but I just started another show.

[00:14:18] Um, it's called a soup.

[00:14:21] Subasa reservoir chronicles.

[00:14:23] Okay.

[00:14:23] It's kind of an older show.

[00:14:24] It's from like the mid two thousands.

[00:14:26] Um, and, uh, I remember seeing, I think it was on the orange bricks.

[00:14:31] Uh, cause Funimation would always put like little ads for like upcoming shows that they have on, um, their home releases.

[00:14:38] Uh, and that was one of the ones I always remembered seeing, but I could not remember for the life of me remember the title until I, I think I, I asked on the super pod discord.

[00:14:48] If anybody knew, like, I just gave like what I remembered and it's like, does anybody know what this is?

[00:14:52] And I got, I don't remember who was, who it was, but somebody was able to tell me the name.

[00:14:57] And, um, it's really interesting so far.

[00:14:59] It's, uh, okay.

[00:15:01] So it's not an isekai, but it has some isekai elements to it.

[00:15:04] Um, so I, I guess the, the basic idea of what the story is about is there's this, it's like kind of like a quasi fantasy world.

[00:15:14] Um, and, um, there's this dude who's like, he's like an archeologist and, um, he was like a childhood friends with this princess girl, but it turns out this princess girl has like this special hidden power.

[00:15:26] Uh, but like, you know, basically she can like hop between like different worlds, like different parallel earths.

[00:15:33] Um, and blah, blah, blah, some stuff happened and she lost all of her memories.

[00:15:38] Uh, but the memories were like physically manifested as feathers.

[00:15:43] And like, you kind of like, uh, think of it like the, the she can jewel.

[00:15:46] Basically she got she gone jeweled, but it was her memories instead of a magic stone.

[00:15:50] And, um, they got spread between multiple different parallel worlds and the guy has to find them all or else she'll die.

[00:16:00] But even if he gets them all, she won't remember who he is.

[00:16:05] This sounds eerily similar to the plot of tales of hearts minus the, uh, the last part, which is kind of funny.

[00:16:13] Mm-hmm. But it's really interesting so far.

[00:16:16] I really liked the characters and, uh, as I was watching it, I was like, this music sounds super familiar.

[00:16:23] And I actually looked into it.

[00:16:25] It's the same composer who did the music for sort of online.

[00:16:28] And, uh, I think she also did the music for some of the dot hack stuff and, uh, demon slayer actually.

[00:16:35] Oh, so she does very good work.

[00:16:39] I like her music and that definitely helped me get into the show.

[00:16:42] So, so I'm, I'm excited to watch more of it.

[00:16:44] I'm hoping it'll be done by the time we do the year wrap up for GNC, but, um, that depends on how things go with, uh, with timing and everything.

[00:16:54] Yeah. I want to try and bang out a few more feels before then, because we're down to at least one week, a week and a half, maybe.

[00:17:03] So, yeah.

[00:17:05] Well, I'm, I've pretty much, uh, conceded that I'll probably be in last place as far as most animes watched.

[00:17:13] Um, but I'm fine with it.

[00:17:15] I mean, Alex is just going to make us all look bad.

[00:17:18] So, yeah, I mean, I can't, I don't know how much Slade's watched, but he's watched a lot.

[00:17:23] I will say that.

[00:17:25] I know, I know either way, the two of us are going to be at the bottom, but I'll probably be at the bottom, bottom.

[00:17:31] I just go through this like phase tonight where I just watched the first episode of like 12 different animes just to artificially inflate my list.

[00:17:39] And to just say, yep, I watched a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

[00:17:42] I started this.

[00:17:43] I started that.

[00:17:44] I started this.

[00:17:45] I started a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

[00:17:51] Yeah.

[00:17:51] I'm not going to go any farther with that.

[00:17:53] Anyways.

[00:17:55] Um, and then also I have been watching Dima.

[00:17:58] So I guess I could include that on my list, even though it won't be done by then.

[00:18:01] It will be more than halfway done though.

[00:18:03] So dub comes out in January.

[00:18:05] I saw.

[00:18:06] So that's a good sign.

[00:18:07] Yes.

[00:18:07] Very excited about that.

[00:18:09] Um, no, but I think by the time it comes out, the show might've wrapped up depending.

[00:18:15] I'm not, it depends on when in January.

[00:18:19] That sounds about right with how behind fundamental crunchy seems to be these days.

[00:18:24] Yeah.

[00:18:24] I mean, it's still not as long of a week as long as a wait as we had with a super.

[00:18:29] So super was like a year and a half.

[00:18:31] Super was weird.

[00:18:32] Like it was a year and a half.

[00:18:33] And then like a completely different dub came out before it by a different studio for like

[00:18:38] an Asian territory.

[00:18:39] And I was like, this is weird.

[00:18:41] Yeah.

[00:18:41] It was bizarre, but either way.

[00:18:44] Um, I'm really enjoying what's happening at Dima right now.

[00:18:47] I'm having so much fun with it.

[00:18:49] Uh, they just keep dropping even more lore stuff and I don't want to spoil anything, but

[00:18:53] I also really want to talk about it.

[00:18:55] So it's, it's a bit of a struggle for me, but, um, all I will say is there is another.

[00:19:02] Mm-hmm.

[00:19:03] And I'll just let you stew on that, but you'll probably forget about it by the time it actually

[00:19:08] is relevant for you.

[00:19:09] So, you know, what's, you know, what's going to be the hardest part of the, uh, what's funny

[00:19:13] is I'm pretty sure that episode will probably be either out or like close to being out, um,

[00:19:20] by the time we, uh, release this.

[00:19:22] But, um, I am really, the hardest question for the, uh, the, the anime wrap up is going

[00:19:28] to be like favorite intros and outros.

[00:19:30] Cause there was a lot this year.

[00:19:33] Yeah.

[00:19:33] Well, I mean, I mean my favorite intro I think is, I mean, it might be between like two or

[00:19:41] three, but there's one in particular that I've kind of had in mind as, as the favorite

[00:19:46] and you probably know what it is.

[00:19:47] So, um, but, uh, the outro is gonna be a little bit harder cause I don't, I don't pay

[00:19:54] as much attention to those.

[00:19:56] I'm gonna have to actually go through them all and like sift through them and they tend

[00:19:59] to be more outros than intros.

[00:20:01] So it's going to be a big list of songs to go through.

[00:20:04] Believe it or not.

[00:20:05] My favorite outro might've been from a show I recently watched.

[00:20:09] Um, we, we might've mentioned it earlier in this episode.

[00:20:13] Um, it, it slaps really hard.

[00:20:15] That's all I'll say.

[00:20:19] Yeah, I feel that.

[00:20:22] Um, so, uh, as far as like, um, there are any like interesting movies you saw this year

[00:20:32] that you want to talk about?

[00:20:34] Um, believe it or not.

[00:20:38] I did not watch a ton of movies this year, which is a little depressing in hindsight.

[00:20:43] Hmm.

[00:20:44] Um, spy family coat white.

[00:20:46] That was, that was an amazing film.

[00:20:48] I'm, I'm still like, I want season three so bad, but I know it's still, we still have a

[00:20:53] little bit to go for spy family.

[00:20:55] Hmm.

[00:20:57] Um, Susume might be my favorite film I saw this year.

[00:21:01] I'm not going to lie.

[00:21:02] Yeah.

[00:21:03] That one was definitely up there.

[00:21:05] Um, well, I, I, I watched the, the three big Shinkai movies for the first time this year.

[00:21:09] So it's going to be hard to choose between those three.

[00:21:11] Oh, you did watch a weathering with you finally.

[00:21:13] Yeah.

[00:21:14] I watched it.

[00:21:15] It was actually like, might've been a month or two ago.

[00:21:18] It was a little bit ago.

[00:21:19] I, I must've forgot to mention it.

[00:21:22] Doesn't it have such a downer ending compared to the other two?

[00:21:26] I mean, kind of, but I mean, it's still kind of had that like somewhat hopeful, like, you

[00:21:32] know, like everything was still kind of cool by the end.

[00:21:34] So my whole part of that is, is like the ending of your name is like, we saved a town

[00:21:39] at the ending of a weathering with you.

[00:21:41] We flooded Tokyo.

[00:21:46] Although that takes place before the ending of your name.

[00:21:49] So I have a, it's at least implied that they did drain drain the flood eventually,

[00:21:55] but.

[00:21:56] Well, I'm sure.

[00:21:58] I'm sure.

[00:22:01] But oh, well, I'm still like, I think I only watched.

[00:22:06] I was going to say, I'm still in like a bit of a debate with myself right now.

[00:22:08] I'm not sure if I liked your name or Susan, a more.

[00:22:11] I know.

[00:22:12] It's a hard choice, man.

[00:22:13] They're both good.

[00:22:13] I was saying to make Cindy watch Susan, because I think she'd really like it.

[00:22:17] Susan is really good.

[00:22:18] I got to watch the older Shinkai films.

[00:22:20] I have all of them on Blu-ray.

[00:22:21] I just have to sit down and actually watch them.

[00:22:23] Hmm.

[00:22:25] Um, yeah, I think I only watched three Ghibli films this year that I hadn't seen previous.

[00:22:31] Hmm.

[00:22:32] Uh, cause I saw, um, what's it called?

[00:22:36] Uh, the boy in the heron in theaters in January.

[00:22:43] And I watched Kiki's delivery service and, um, uh, how I was moving castle, which I liked

[00:22:50] how I was moving castle a lot.

[00:22:51] And, uh, found out after the fact that it was based on a novel.

[00:22:55] So I'm going to try and find that an English novel.

[00:22:58] Like it's not even a based off of Japanese property, which is wild to me.

[00:23:04] Um, it's very rare to see anime based off of Western stuff.

[00:23:09] Yeah.

[00:23:10] What I found really interesting too, is, um, apparently the, the, the novel goes way deeper

[00:23:17] into a lot of the background stuff in howls.

[00:23:20] Like there, there's a lot of stuff that doesn't get explained, uh, throughout that film.

[00:23:26] And I'd like to read that novel at some point.

[00:23:28] I just have to find it and actually sit down and do it.

[00:23:32] Yeah.

[00:23:32] I gotcha.

[00:23:34] Um, you and I have read a fair amount of manga this year.

[00:23:38] Um, we have both for this show and otherwise.

[00:23:41] Um, yeah, I mean, we did pretty much the majority of, uh, we did the main, the, like the, basically

[00:23:49] the first to like major portion of Pokemon adventures.

[00:23:52] We got the, went through that.

[00:23:54] Yeah.

[00:23:54] And, uh, I swear the world was against us cause it did not want us to have a smooth recording

[00:23:58] on any of those.

[00:24:00] Nope.

[00:24:03] Yeah.

[00:24:06] I'm still bummed.

[00:24:07] The one that was like my favorite section was the, was the one that got hurt the worst

[00:24:11] by like audio issues.

[00:24:13] Yeah.

[00:24:14] I mean, we could always revisit it later on if we wanted to, or do like a, like a general

[00:24:18] overview.

[00:24:19] Well, I definitely do want to do a diamond and pearl at some point soon.

[00:24:24] Cause I'd like to see the, where it goes next.

[00:24:27] Yeah.

[00:24:28] Well, I mean the, the one we're doing next for possibly for next week's episode.

[00:24:34] Um, well actually super and that one will probably wrap up in the same like round.

[00:24:41] Cause I think my, my plan for the next one that we're doing, I don't know if I want to

[00:24:46] say it or not, but, um, my plan is to split it up into four chunks and, and read it that

[00:24:51] way.

[00:24:52] And super, I think it's going to be about the same.

[00:24:54] So.

[00:24:55] Oh, a book 22 came out, I believe.

[00:24:59] Yep.

[00:25:00] And it showed up in the mail randomly.

[00:25:01] I totally forgot that I pre-ordered it.

[00:25:04] I found it at Barnes and Noble two weeks early.

[00:25:06] And I was like, Oh cool.

[00:25:08] Well, cause I have a volume and that'll wrap up the superhero arc.

[00:25:10] So.

[00:25:11] Right.

[00:25:12] I forgot they were in that because I picked it up and I saw pan on the cover and I was

[00:25:15] like, Oh right.

[00:25:16] We're in this now.

[00:25:18] Mm.

[00:25:18] Yeah.

[00:25:19] And that'll be the last complete volume that we're going to get until the manga comes back.

[00:25:23] Cause after that one, there's only three more chapters and each volume is four chapters.

[00:25:28] So unless they want to put out a small one, uh, that's going to be it.

[00:25:33] So at least until they bring it back, which who knows when that's going to be supposedly

[00:25:39] we might be getting an announcement about that soon.

[00:25:42] Mm.

[00:25:43] Cause is it like jump fester or something?

[00:25:45] I know something is happening this month in Japan, some sort of event.

[00:25:49] And supposedly Toyotaro is going to be there and that's, I guess a big deal.

[00:25:54] So we'll see.

[00:25:56] Um, but I mean, we've been, we've been shortchanged before.

[00:26:00] It could easily just be them promoting Dragon Ball divers or whatever the fuck that's called,

[00:26:05] which is the replacement for, uh, Dragon Ball heroes.

[00:26:10] Oh yeah.

[00:26:11] They're doing away with all the heroes arcade machines in Japan and they're, they're replacing

[00:26:15] it with a new one.

[00:26:17] Yes.

[00:26:17] It makes perfect sense.

[00:26:19] Hmm.

[00:26:20] Um, oh, I finally beat the Yuffie DLC and final fantasy seven remake.

[00:26:27] Nice.

[00:26:28] I'm all set for when I get the second game.

[00:26:29] I'm going to just jump right into it.

[00:26:32] Hmm.

[00:26:33] Um, although sparking zero will probably be taking priority until that's done.

[00:26:38] Gotcha.

[00:26:40] Um, you played persona four this year.

[00:26:43] That was a big, big thing.

[00:26:45] Persona four and Corona trigger, both very big ones that have been on my list for a while.

[00:26:50] Um, enjoyed both of them very much.

[00:26:53] Uh, I stayed, I do, I am in the middle of a replay of persona four.

[00:27:00] Uh, trying to think where I left off.

[00:27:03] I think I just got Yukiko on the team.

[00:27:06] That's where I left off.

[00:27:08] All right.

[00:27:09] Where the game picks up.

[00:27:10] Yeah.

[00:27:12] I think, I think that was mostly what I wanted.

[00:27:13] I just wanted to get to a point where like the game gets really interesting and then,

[00:27:18] you know, I could get distracted with other stuff.

[00:27:20] And when I come back to it, I'll be like, all right, cool.

[00:27:21] I got all this cool stuff waiting for me.

[00:27:24] Yeah.

[00:27:24] That's what sucks is switching consoles is now I gotta, I'm not new game plussing it.

[00:27:29] I'm actually just new gaming it.

[00:27:30] So.

[00:27:31] Gotcha.

[00:27:31] A bummer, but at least you know what to do.

[00:27:34] True.

[00:27:35] I can, I can, uh, schedule my time better in that game.

[00:27:39] Get more done.

[00:27:40] You can plan.

[00:27:42] Exactly.

[00:27:43] Planning is half the battle in that game.

[00:27:45] So.

[00:27:46] Oh, so for the, um, I don't know if you know anything about it, but the, the Yu-Gi-Oh!

[00:27:51] Like retro, uh, like big, like video game thing that's supposed to be coming out like in a

[00:27:58] couple months.

[00:27:58] Um, is that only going to be for switch or is it going to come up for some other stuff

[00:28:02] too?

[00:28:03] I don't know exactly.

[00:28:06] Um, cause I remember that got announced and then I forgot about it.

[00:28:11] I'm super excited about it.

[00:28:12] Cause it's got like, it was like the exception of like duels to the roses.

[00:28:16] It's got like all the Yu-Gi-Oh! games I played plus a bunch more.

[00:28:21] Hmm.

[00:28:21] Why did they kick out duels to the roses?

[00:28:23] That's a weird choice.

[00:28:24] It's just one of the, it's just one of the few ones they didn't include.

[00:28:27] I don't know why, but they just didn't put it in there.

[00:28:31] Uh, would have been nice to have that on an updated console and make it run a little

[00:28:34] bit faster, but whatever.

[00:28:37] All right.

[00:28:37] Yu-Gi-Oh! early days collection.

[00:28:42] Uh, doesn't really say.

[00:28:48] Well, if they haven't announced it yet, but I hope it comes out for, you get to play sacred

[00:28:55] cards and then you get to have the misery of playing Rishef of destruction right after.

[00:29:00] Oh yeah.

[00:29:00] Oh yeah.

[00:29:01] You know what?

[00:29:02] If I, if it does come out for a system I have, I might finally actually try to play

[00:29:07] through Rishef of destruction just to see, just to see if I can do it.

[00:29:11] So you can be like, this is fucking bullshit every five minutes.

[00:29:14] But I did notice that fucking, uh, uh, dungeon dice monsters is on there and I'm pretty pumped

[00:29:19] about that.

[00:29:19] Cause I, I played a little bit of that this year and I really enjoyed it.

[00:29:25] It's a, it's a fun little, uh, like grid game.

[00:29:29] You know, it'd be really funny if they just like skipped duels of the rose, but put false

[00:29:34] bound kingdom on there, or did they do that?

[00:29:38] I'm not sure.

[00:29:39] Cause that would be really dumb if they put false bound kingdom, the one game in the

[00:29:44] Yu-Gi-Oh game series that has nothing to do with the card game.

[00:29:48] I could not tell you.

[00:29:50] I think there was a capsule monsters game in there too.

[00:29:53] Um, I'd be interested to, to play that and see if it's anything like how it is in the, in the manga.

[00:29:59] They should throw destiny board traveler on there.

[00:30:02] Like one of the dumbest Yu-Gi-Oh games.

[00:30:04] I think it is on there.

[00:30:05] Oh geez.

[00:30:06] That game is so trash, but I kind of love it for it.

[00:30:09] Cause there's, I know they put like 14 of the classic Yu-Gi-Oh games on there.

[00:30:13] I know a bunch of them are game boy color games, but I know that there is some other stuff on there.

[00:30:18] It's funny.

[00:30:19] Cause a lot of them are like legit, just the same thing.

[00:30:22] And I'm like, a lot of these are kind of lame.

[00:30:25] Yeah.

[00:30:26] I don't know.

[00:30:26] I don't think we needed like three different versions of dark dual stories.

[00:30:30] Yeah.

[00:30:31] Like there's like all those, like the game boy advanced games, which are all basically just worldwide edition.

[00:30:36] Yeah.

[00:30:37] And then, you know, there's the sacred cards and, um, I like sacred cards.

[00:30:42] Well, sacred cards in Russia, at least do something like the other ones are just battle simulator.

[00:30:49] True.

[00:30:50] Um, and one thing I did like about the dungeon dice monsters game was it like actually has like little animations for every monster.

[00:30:57] Hmm.

[00:30:58] And it has the benefit of not having like a super complicated, um, like, like how like with other games, it's like, oh, I got to build my deck and I got to strategize how I do it.

[00:31:06] And like, there is a level of that with dungeon dice monsters, but you only get 15 dice in your, your dice pool, quote unquote.

[00:31:14] Um, so you don't have to think too much about how you're setting it up.

[00:31:17] You just got to make sure you got the right amount of like different kinds of symbols on your dice so that you can actually activate effects and stuff.

[00:31:26] But I don't know.

[00:31:27] It's, it's a, it's a really fun, like time killer kind of like, I don't want to call it a puzzle game, but you know, it's like a little board game that you can play.

[00:31:35] It's pretty cool.

[00:31:37] I always remember like, they've really tried to make dungeon dice monsters a thing and it just kind of like it was here and then it kind of just like, uh, petered out like really fast.

[00:31:47] It's kind of upsetting though.

[00:31:48] Cause like, like I said, like I, I was having a lot of fun with it and I think, I think if they had put the time into it, it would have, it wouldn't have done as good because generally people tend to gear more towards the cards anyway.

[00:32:00] But the problem was it was, it was just more stuff you had to buy and it wasn't as easy to buy as like the cards were true.

[00:32:10] But I mean, if they had tried a little bit harder with the video games and people learn how to play that way and like actually got into it, then people probably would have ended up going on buying it.

[00:32:20] I honestly think if they had just stuck it stuck to exclusively being like games, like video games and not like done the physical thing, it might've done better.

[00:32:28] True.

[00:32:29] Cause I think the problem was it was just too complicated because one of the, the big appeals of Yu-Gi-Oh! at least back then was how easy it was to get into.

[00:32:37] Yeah.

[00:32:37] It's not like that anymore.

[00:32:39] No, now it's, now it's just as fucking complicated as every other card game.

[00:32:42] And that's why I'm not interested in it anymore.

[00:32:44] But yeah, back in the day though, it was like super easy to get into.

[00:32:49] Like I always say like the reason why no, I don't think anyone played the damn Pokemon card game was it was too complicated.

[00:32:56] Yeah.

[00:32:57] And I actually just, just for shits and giggles.

[00:33:00] I happened to see it at Walmart when we were shopping, like doing some Christmas shopping the other day.

[00:33:05] And, um, I got a couple of starter decks for the Dragon Ball Super card game for me and Xander for Christmas.

[00:33:12] And we're going to try that out and see how that goes.

[00:33:15] Nice.

[00:33:16] There was a super, a super deck and a GT deck.

[00:33:20] I'll just let him choose whichever one he wants, but I have a feeling he might choose GT though, because he likes Super Saiyan 4.

[00:33:27] And he likes the whole concept of Super Saiyan Kid Goku.

[00:33:30] So.

[00:33:31] I mean, Super Saiyan 4 is the best part of GT.

[00:33:34] Hmm.

[00:33:36] Aside from the ending.

[00:33:37] The ending of GT is actually really good.

[00:33:39] Yeah, we have to get through a lot of shit to get there.

[00:33:43] Yeah, that's true.

[00:33:44] Or you can just skip, skip it all and just watch the OVA and just say, fuck it.

[00:33:49] Yeah.

[00:33:49] Hey, Goku Jr.

[00:33:52] His great, great, great, great grandson.

[00:33:55] Yeah.

[00:33:56] Oh, geez.

[00:33:58] That show.

[00:33:58] The only things from that show I liked, I liked were GT and player, player go 10 because that's just funny in hindsight.

[00:34:05] I mean, I like a lot of things from GT.

[00:34:07] Like it's not, it's easily the worst of the Dragon Ball shows.

[00:34:10] Like let's not split hairs here, but it doesn't make it.

[00:34:14] Like awful.

[00:34:15] Like it's not unwatchable.

[00:34:16] Like it is, it is a show I come back to every few years and I'll be watching.

[00:34:20] I just think like the thing that always like just kind of through, I think the most people's biggest sticking point with GT was always like Goku being a kid again.

[00:34:29] Cause it was just pointless.

[00:34:31] Yeah.

[00:34:31] Well now Goku's a kid again.

[00:34:33] Yeah.

[00:34:34] But at least it's, at least this time around though, it actually makes sense.

[00:34:38] Or at least it's better.

[00:34:40] It's better.

[00:34:41] It's better than GT.

[00:34:43] GT was dumb just because GT, it was like, it was just Goku.

[00:34:47] And then they didn't even do anything really interesting with it.

[00:34:50] Yeah.

[00:34:50] Well this time it is more interesting because everybody else is also kids.

[00:34:53] Well yeah, that's got potential.

[00:34:55] Not just Goku's a kid with his granddaughter who's like older than him now.

[00:35:01] Cause that makes sense.

[00:35:03] Yeah.

[00:35:03] For real.

[00:35:04] Um, then I was horrified as a child cause the first image of GT I ever saw was fucking old

[00:35:10] lady Chi Chi in a nurse uniform shoving a needle in his ass.

[00:35:14] I'll always be like, what the fuck is this show?

[00:35:17] Yeah.

[00:35:19] Yeah.

[00:35:19] It's pretty silly.

[00:35:21] Um,

[00:35:22] such weird scene.

[00:35:23] Yeah.

[00:35:26] Um, but yeah, no, that diamond is diamond is pretty cool.

[00:35:31] I'm really enjoying it.

[00:35:33] I'm really looking forward to seeing cause he, he, he literally just met up with, with Vegeta

[00:35:37] and Piccolo and Bulma.

[00:35:39] And like now they've actually congregating and doing stuff.

[00:35:44] Um, I really hope Chris about does like kid Vegeta's voice.

[00:35:49] And I just want to hear how he does it.

[00:35:52] He's going to have to do kid Vegeta and came kid Piccolo.

[00:35:56] True.

[00:35:58] Is Yamcha there?

[00:36:00] No, no.

[00:36:01] Okay.

[00:36:02] No, only, uh, at least as far as like the demon realm stuff, only, uh, Goku, Vegeta,

[00:36:07] Piccolo, Bulma and Supreme Kai.

[00:36:12] Gotcha.

[00:36:14] But, uh, I am a little bit disappointed.

[00:36:16] I was really kind of hoping Krillin would be there because it's just something about that

[00:36:20] like classic kid Krillin voice.

[00:36:23] Yeah.

[00:36:24] It brings me back, you know?

[00:36:26] I mean, you're, you're probably most psyched just to hear Stephanie Nodami again though,

[00:36:30] right?

[00:36:31] Oh yeah.

[00:36:32] Extremely.

[00:36:34] I'm curious how she's going to sound.

[00:36:35] Cause it's been a while since she did the voice.

[00:36:38] It has, it has been a while.

[00:36:40] Um, I mean, I, I saw the trailer and I, you know, you could definitely hear like there's

[00:36:45] she's aged in her voice, but like, I mean, it's still very recognizably classic kid Goku

[00:36:52] voice.

[00:36:52] Yeah.

[00:36:53] It's not like, um, I think the most jarring to me, like voice actor coming back after a

[00:36:59] long time was, uh, Kirby Moro in, uh, Yashime, which tragically he only came back for one

[00:37:04] episode cause he passed away shortly after.

[00:37:07] But, um, he must not have been doing well at the time cause he sounds rough in that first

[00:37:12] episode of Yashime.

[00:37:13] Yeah.

[00:37:15] You know, so I still think one of the like most impressive performances I've ever heard

[00:37:20] in, in animation was, um, uh, Chris Ayers performance in, in the Burley movie.

[00:37:27] May he rest in peace.

[00:37:29] Cause he was in that movie.

[00:37:31] He was, he was operating at 17% lung capacity.

[00:37:35] Yeah.

[00:37:36] And I'm so glad he was, was well enough to do that movie.

[00:37:40] Just this is like final performance.

[00:37:43] Yeah.

[00:37:44] And I am glad he was able to go back and rerecord the Frieza lines that he missed in super.

[00:37:49] True.

[00:37:50] Um, so at least we have that to remember him by his, his incredible performance at less

[00:37:57] than a fifth of his lung capacity in Burley.

[00:38:00] Like that was wild that he was able to do that well with such little air to work with.

[00:38:07] I know, especially cause that, that's a, he does a lot of screaming in that movie too.

[00:38:12] Yeah, for real.

[00:38:15] Um, but yeah, I, I did not beat nearly as many video games as a thracked did this year.

[00:38:23] Yeah.

[00:38:24] I said it on the radio earlier, but like I made this year more of an anime year than a gaming

[00:38:28] year, mostly just cause I hadn't, I really wasn't feeling games this year.

[00:38:32] I don't know why.

[00:38:34] Yeah.

[00:38:35] That's fair.

[00:38:36] I beat a few.

[00:38:37] Like I beat the Mario and Luigi RPG remake, which I really enjoyed.

[00:38:40] I actually beat that the same day you beat Fable.

[00:38:44] That's funny.

[00:38:45] Cause you were streaming and I was playing it in the background.

[00:38:47] I remember.

[00:38:48] Hmm.

[00:38:49] Yeah.

[00:38:50] I need to get back into, I'm hoping that at some point, uh, some point in the near future,

[00:38:55] I can, I can start up another stream.

[00:38:58] Um, actually I was, I was going to try and do that next weekend.

[00:39:04] Um, but well, I may have to try and work some stuff out as far as like the planning of

[00:39:11] it.

[00:39:13] But I mean, if you're available, we might be in your neck of the woods.

[00:39:17] So I was going to see if we could drop by.

[00:39:20] Okay.

[00:39:20] Oh, okay.

[00:39:21] Uh, next weekend you were saying?

[00:39:23] Yeah.

[00:39:24] Thanks for telling me.

[00:39:25] Cause I was actually thinking about heading back home.

[00:39:28] That would have been ironic.

[00:39:30] Yeah.

[00:39:32] Well, I, I'll, I'll let you know, as I, as I learn more about what's going on.

[00:39:36] Cause, um, cause what it is is, um, Cindy's dad, uh, got rehired by the people who laid

[00:39:42] him off and, uh, they, they set him up, they sent him to Connecticut, but he has to drive

[00:39:48] back and forth from here to there every day for work.

[00:39:52] So, and they gave him a work truck.

[00:39:54] So his car keeps getting left there for the week.

[00:39:56] And then he doesn't bring it back until Friday.

[00:39:59] So, um, Cindy and I were talking about like driving him down there and, uh, yeah.

[00:40:06] So he can grab his car and then you could have both here.

[00:40:11] Um, and he literally works like 15 minutes away from you.

[00:40:15] Oh, interesting.

[00:40:17] Yeah.

[00:40:18] So it's entirely possible.

[00:40:20] You may have passed him on the road at one point or another.

[00:40:22] No, it's possible.

[00:40:23] But, um, yeah, so we're already going to be that close.

[00:40:27] So if, if you're not doing anything, I'm definitely dropping by.

[00:40:30] Yeah.

[00:40:31] Just let me know.

[00:40:32] I won't go home this weekend then.

[00:40:34] Fair enough.

[00:40:36] Um, yeah, I just got to talk to, uh, to Cindy's dad about it and, and figure out if

[00:40:40] he actually wants to do that next weekend.

[00:40:43] Okay.

[00:40:44] Bye.

[00:40:46] Um, so what else did we, uh, gaming wise, still not a ton.

[00:40:51] I mean, I mostly played 3DO games this year, which is perfectly fine.

[00:40:54] I enjoy my 3DO, uh, games, even though we played a lot of shit recently.

[00:40:59] I'm not going to lie.

[00:41:00] I'm looking forward to next week's episode.

[00:41:03] Uh, we're recording that on recording that on Sunday.

[00:41:07] That's going to be, uh, oh boy.

[00:41:10] Um, by this point, people already know we were doing the porn games.

[00:41:13] So yeah.

[00:41:15] Well, by this point it would have already been out for a few weeks, but yeah, that's

[00:41:18] our holiday special.

[00:41:21] Kind of, kind of, um, Oh God.

[00:41:26] So how many, how many hidden gems bill?

[00:41:28] How many calling them games is a stretch.

[00:41:32] That's all I'm going to say.

[00:41:34] And they're not even calling them porn is also a stretch.

[00:41:37] I'm not going to lie.

[00:41:40] I still don't even know how I'm going to handle that episode for like the, like content

[00:41:44] ratings and stuff.

[00:41:45] Cause I might have to like set that one for explicit.

[00:41:48] Well, I mean, I don't know.

[00:41:51] I mean, I've, I feel like if, if all the rest of your shows aren't set to explicit,

[00:41:55] I think it'll be fine.

[00:41:57] Yeah.

[00:41:58] Well, I got to see.

[00:41:59] Cause we're going to have a drain, um, Steve from fine time on with us.

[00:42:04] And that'd be fun.

[00:42:06] I love those guys.

[00:42:08] Um, their show is very, very entertaining.

[00:42:10] That's all I'll say.

[00:42:12] Fair enough.

[00:42:13] Um, yeah, I, uh, I've read quite a number of books this year.

[00:42:18] I I've passed the 50 mark.

[00:42:20] So that's, that's good.

[00:42:22] Um, and as far as like, okay.

[00:42:25] I mean, I, I mean, I still have some time.

[00:42:28] I got to read this stuff for next week's episode and then finish the book that I'm currently

[00:42:33] reading.

[00:42:34] I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish another one after that.

[00:42:38] Cause I already have another book lined up to read.

[00:42:40] Um, but I mean, I read the Aragon series for the first time this year, which is really

[00:42:47] cool.

[00:42:47] I said, I still haven't read the new one that came out last year, but, um, I read like,

[00:42:52] you know, the classic four books.

[00:42:55] Uh, and I enjoyed them.

[00:42:56] They were, they were pretty good.

[00:42:57] Um, I didn't realize they're getting into it until eldest, the second book.

[00:43:02] Um, I don't know.

[00:43:03] It was just something about the first book that didn't catch me.

[00:43:05] And then I made me really nervous.

[00:43:06] Cause a lot of people were telling me that the first book was the best one.

[00:43:09] I was like, I really hope not, but I ended up liking the later books more than the first

[00:43:14] one.

[00:43:14] So maybe it's just a matter of preference.

[00:43:17] Um, but I think my favorite book that I read this year is still, and I said this when I read

[00:43:22] it like way back at like February.

[00:43:25] Uh, but I think Watership Down is still my favorite book that I read this year.

[00:43:29] It was absolutely wonderful.

[00:43:30] I remember watching.

[00:43:32] I remember watching that movie back in, um, fucking primary school.

[00:43:39] I don't know what the fuck that teacher was thinking.

[00:43:42] There was a few movies because I know that Netflix did a, a one like recently, like within the

[00:43:49] past few years.

[00:43:50] Um, and I know that there was a, like an older classic one and it might be another one.

[00:43:55] I'm not sure.

[00:43:56] We watched the classic animated one like back when I was in primary school and holy shit,

[00:44:00] that movie is a fucking trip.

[00:44:02] That's all I will say.

[00:44:03] Oh, I'm sure.

[00:44:04] I mean, the book is, the book is crazy too.

[00:44:06] I mean, it's funny cause the, the first half of the book is them just being like, like,

[00:44:11] Oh no, this horrible thing is going to happen to our home.

[00:44:14] We gotta get as many people as we get our brother, get as many rabbits as we can and,

[00:44:18] and get the fuck out and, and set up a new place.

[00:44:22] And they, they go through all these adventures traveling.

[00:44:24] They're telling their stories about rabbit Jesus.

[00:44:27] And, um, you know, they finally get there and they settle down.

[00:44:30] They're there for a couple of weeks.

[00:44:31] They're like, man, this is awesome.

[00:44:32] We don't have to worry about predators.

[00:44:34] We got plenty of grass.

[00:44:35] Uh, we're working on this awesome burrow.

[00:44:38] And then like the main one's just like looking around.

[00:44:40] And he's just like, we don't have any bitches.

[00:44:46] And they spend the whole rest of the book.

[00:44:48] Like, Oh shit, we need females.

[00:44:50] We're going to die out in like two years.

[00:44:52] Yeah.

[00:44:54] The dude bro mentality.

[00:44:56] They were all like, wait a minute.

[00:44:57] Great.

[00:44:58] This is sausage fest.

[00:44:59] We need some chicks.

[00:45:02] I remember that movie caused so many questions.

[00:45:05] I'm a very, like, uh, parents were mad that we watched that in school.

[00:45:08] Cause like all the amount of questions that were asked after, after watching that, the teachers

[00:45:13] were like, ask your parents.

[00:45:14] And the parents were like, no.

[00:45:17] Hey, it's, it's classic literature.

[00:45:20] Okay.

[00:45:20] It is, but primary school students, maybe a bit early.

[00:45:24] I like elementary or middle school.

[00:45:27] Probably better.

[00:45:28] I'm going to say that's fair.

[00:45:31] I'm just saying.

[00:45:31] I, I thought the book was absolutely wonderful.

[00:45:34] And I, I recommend anybody out there.

[00:45:36] If you haven't read watership down.

[00:45:37] Yes.

[00:45:38] It's a story about rabbits.

[00:45:39] Deal with it.

[00:45:39] Read it.

[00:45:40] You will love it.

[00:45:41] It's, it is.

[00:45:42] It's about rabbits, but, um, it's very mature book for it's, uh, for, uh, it's demographic.

[00:45:48] I will say.

[00:45:49] Yeah.

[00:45:50] Well, I mean, kids books in the seventies just hit different.

[00:45:53] They weren't, they weren't like the fucking watered down shit that they give kids nowadays.

[00:45:58] I still don't know what was more shocking as, as a kid watching that, watching that in primary

[00:46:03] school or accidentally watching Akira in like elementary school.

[00:46:07] Oh God.

[00:46:11] Uh, that was all because of those like, uh, sketchy websites used to watch anime on back

[00:46:16] in the day and they didn't, they didn't, uh, differentiate like mature and non-mature

[00:46:21] stuff.

[00:46:22] Yeah.

[00:46:23] Um, another book I read recently, uh, was Ender's Game.

[00:46:27] I read that for the first time and that was, that was really good too.

[00:46:31] Um, and I got like halfway through it and like, I saw like the last page of the book was like

[00:46:37] an ad for like more books and it was like, oh shit, there's three more books in this.

[00:46:41] Yeah.

[00:46:41] This is a series.

[00:46:42] I didn't know it was a series when I started reading it.

[00:46:44] But it, the first book ended in such a way where it's like, I feel okay with waiting to

[00:46:49] read the rest of them.

[00:46:50] Like it's like, it ended in like a very rounded way where like it could have easily been a standalone

[00:46:56] book.

[00:46:58] So I, I, I'm not in any huge rush to read the next ones, but I will eventually do it.

[00:47:04] I haven't read it yet, but I bought, um, recently I bought the, um, a book called seconds.

[00:47:09] It's actually been, it was the book first book that, uh, Brian Lee O'Malley did after

[00:47:15] Scott Pilgrim.

[00:47:16] Mm.

[00:47:17] Um, I've been looking forward to reading that, uh, pretty soon cause it has some very interesting

[00:47:21] like page layouts and stuff.

[00:47:23] Mm.

[00:47:24] And I heard it's a really cool story.

[00:47:27] Um, it's, it's a one and done.

[00:47:29] So.

[00:47:30] Oh, that's good.

[00:47:31] Um, I am really looking forward to doing like more of like the, the manga reviews.

[00:47:35] Like I know we were like pretty focused on the Pokemon ones for a while and I do want

[00:47:40] to get back to those, but like, I like the, I like what we're doing now where we're kind

[00:47:44] of cycling through and like reading chunks of a story.

[00:47:47] Like I'm looking forward to getting back to Yu-Gi-Oh!

[00:47:49] And reading Duelist Kingdom.

[00:47:50] Hmm.

[00:47:52] Has it, I'm going to have to, uh, I'm going to have to track down more of that cause I

[00:47:56] only have the first three, three and ones at the moment.

[00:47:59] So.

[00:48:01] Well, I'd have to look into it, but I, I don't think Duelist Kingdom is that long.

[00:48:05] Um, so you might only need to buy like two more.

[00:48:09] Uh, but we'll see.

[00:48:11] Um, yeah.

[00:48:12] Yeah.

[00:48:12] Cause cause wait, the, the, yeah.

[00:48:15] Cause you still have two more volumes that you didn't technically read from the last

[00:48:18] one.

[00:48:19] So yeah, there's two volumes in the last three and one I'd have to buy probably like a couple

[00:48:23] more just to have.

[00:48:25] Yeah.

[00:48:26] So yeah, I think you'd only need to get like two more and we still, we're still a little

[00:48:29] ways away from getting back to Yu-Gi-Oh!

[00:48:31] Cause we still have the one we're doing next week and then Dragon Ball Super.

[00:48:36] So Dragon Ball Super Pokemon again at some point.

[00:48:41] Well, I was thinking we'd save that for once we finished Dragon Ball Super and what we're

[00:48:45] doing next week.

[00:48:46] Cause like I said, like those are gonna both gonna finish during the same round and then

[00:48:49] we'll have two open spots.

[00:48:51] So, um, and, and the Diamond at Pro, it's an 11 volume.

[00:48:56] True.

[00:48:57] So it's, it's pretty long.

[00:48:59] Um, true.

[00:49:01] And then we're going to have to figure out what else we're going to do.

[00:49:04] Cause I would like to do the Yashime manga at some point just cause it's a lot different

[00:49:09] from the anime.

[00:49:10] Yeah.

[00:49:10] That's the thing is our options are limited because we don't have a ton of the same ones.

[00:49:15] I mean, I know obviously like when we finished super, we could always just circle back and

[00:49:18] start original Dragon Ball.

[00:49:20] Hmm.

[00:49:21] But, um, but at the same time, it's like, I mean, I mean, that is a good option just because

[00:49:29] we don't have a ton of the same mangas.

[00:49:32] Um, cause I don't have any of the inner Yashas.

[00:49:35] Uh, you don't have any of the Naruto's, which are two ones that we probably would do if we both

[00:49:41] had them.

[00:49:43] Yeah.

[00:49:43] The problem with Naruto is it's just too much I got for me to collect right now.

[00:49:48] That's fair.

[00:49:49] Although you could just do what I did and get the box sets.

[00:49:53] Cause it's just three.

[00:49:54] There's just a straight three box sets and the first box that would cover you for a bit.

[00:49:59] Um, and if you wait like for a good deal, cause that's what I did.

[00:50:04] I, um, cause I ordered them off of Amazon and, uh, the prices for that fluctuated a lot when

[00:50:11] I was ordering them.

[00:50:12] Um, so like sometimes it would go up and it would be like 150 and then it would go down

[00:50:16] and be like, like 90, you know, but you get for the first box set at least that's like

[00:50:20] 27 volumes.

[00:50:21] That's, that's a good, good amount of manga for that price.

[00:50:25] You know?

[00:50:26] So if you, if you wait for, for the price to drop, which tended to happen pretty frequently

[00:50:31] at the time, at least, um, it's not too bad.

[00:50:35] Or you could just get the three and ones or, um, but didn't they do like a bigger one for that?

[00:50:42] It wasn't like a biz bag, but it was something similar, like a similar idea.

[00:50:46] For Naruto, they did three and ones.

[00:50:49] Okay.

[00:50:51] Um, the kind of similar to like full metal alchemist and, uh, Roni Kenshin.

[00:50:55] You don't have full metal alchemist either?

[00:50:57] No, I have all of full metal.

[00:50:59] Oh, that we could do that one.

[00:51:00] That's true.

[00:51:01] We could also do, we could do Kenshin too.

[00:51:03] Cause I have all of Kenshin as well.

[00:51:06] I, I mean, I've been reading it digitally.

[00:51:08] Sure.

[00:51:09] Um, I have the first four of his bigs, but that's as far as I got with collecting those.

[00:51:15] I don't have the viz bigs.

[00:51:16] I have the three and ones.

[00:51:18] Hmm.

[00:51:19] A lot of them all secondhand.

[00:51:21] I mean, once Christmas has passed and we still have a ways to go before we didn't get to that

[00:51:24] point anyway, but yeah, I have, I did read, uh, like five and five volumes and some change

[00:51:31] this year.

[00:51:32] Like I got up to like right when Kenshin leaves to go to Kyoto.

[00:51:36] And then I think he just met the little ninja lady and that's where I left off.

[00:51:42] Nice.

[00:51:43] The only thing that sucks is, uh, with the inu yasha is you can only get that in the viz big

[00:51:48] format and those are so hard to find sometimes.

[00:51:52] Mm hmm.

[00:51:53] Well, I mean, I, I know I was seeing them at new bread comics for a while, so maybe they

[00:51:57] started printing them again and they're a little bit more available now.

[00:51:59] I don't know.

[00:52:00] They're always printing them intermittently.

[00:52:02] It's just kind of, um, it's one of those cases where like they're, they're printing

[00:52:08] them, but there's always like one volume that's out of print or out of a stock at a given point.

[00:52:13] Hmm.

[00:52:14] So it's like just annoying to collect.

[00:52:16] The viz bigs in general are kind of annoying to collect.

[00:52:19] I'm not going to lie.

[00:52:20] Yeah.

[00:52:21] Yeah.

[00:52:21] I'm glad I got my dragon ball ones when I did.

[00:52:24] I got lucky and found all of those.

[00:52:26] Well, Amazon for a original dragon ball.

[00:52:28] Amazon was doing a sale.

[00:52:30] Mm hmm.

[00:52:31] And they were all like 30% off.

[00:52:33] So I got most of them like for a fraction of the price.

[00:52:35] I got lucky and found pretty much all of the dragon ball Z's viz bigs at like a newberry

[00:52:41] comics, like just there.

[00:52:43] So I grabbed them while I saw them.

[00:52:44] Hmm.

[00:52:45] I am a little upset that that biz didn't do more series on the viz big style.

[00:52:50] I don't think they sold well, which is wild to me because there's such better quality than

[00:52:56] like the regular three ones.

[00:52:57] Like, yeah, they're a little bit more expensive, but like your paper quality, man, the three

[00:53:01] and ones just have shitty paper.

[00:53:02] They're they get beat up so easily.

[00:53:04] Oh, yeah.

[00:53:05] Like the you know, they're so flimsy.

[00:53:07] Yeah.

[00:53:08] And all of the three and ones like that.

[00:53:10] My my like the one piece ones that Xander has the.

[00:53:16] The full metal ones that I have like I really wanted to get the nice hardcover full metal

[00:53:21] ones when those started coming out, but I just couldn't swing it.

[00:53:23] I wish I didn't see that's what this is doing more of now.

[00:53:26] I wish I hadn't started collecting a full metal when I did because I would have grabbed

[00:53:31] the hardcovers, but yeah, you're gonna do that happens to me way more often than I like.

[00:53:37] Like it was wasn't until after I had bought all the Witcher books that they were like, hey,

[00:53:42] we're going to start releasing hardcovers after not having hardcovers for like 10 years.

[00:53:46] Well, it's kind of like Death Note like they had the well, there's the all in one edition,

[00:53:53] which is atrocious.

[00:53:54] Like, don't bother.

[00:53:55] Yeah, that's like the worst.

[00:53:56] Fuck.

[00:53:56] Don't even bother.

[00:53:57] It's so thick.

[00:53:58] It's thick, but it's small.

[00:54:00] So you can't even like fucking open the pages.

[00:54:02] It's awful.

[00:54:03] Yeah, it's not not good.

[00:54:04] Don't waste your money.

[00:54:04] There's the black editions, which those are kind of nice.

[00:54:08] That's what I got.

[00:54:09] I like that.

[00:54:10] I like the like the feel of the paper on that.

[00:54:12] It's it's way different than what you usually get from manga.

[00:54:15] And I like it.

[00:54:16] I like the style.

[00:54:17] So because you had gifted me the first two volumes in the traditional format,

[00:54:23] I have all of the traditional format versions of that just because I wanted consistency.

[00:54:28] Yeah, sorry, I gave you those because I got the black ones.

[00:54:30] Yeah, that's all good.

[00:54:34] But what I hate, though, is the fact that volume 13 is taller and it sticks out like a sore thumb next to the rest of them.

[00:54:40] Yeah.

[00:54:42] Yeah.

[00:54:43] But I mean, at least it's not it's one of those ones that can kind of be separate.

[00:54:47] So it's not that big a deal.

[00:54:49] But yeah, I was actually thinking about the Viz Bigs for a minute there.

[00:54:52] Like, I'm pretty sure they only did.

[00:54:55] Dragon Ball Dragon Ball Z.

[00:54:58] Inuyasha.

[00:55:01] Moroni Kenshin.

[00:55:04] Vagabond.

[00:55:04] I think they did a series.

[00:55:05] Yeah, Vagabond.

[00:55:06] And then.

[00:55:09] For Shuji Yugi.

[00:55:10] That was the other one.

[00:55:11] Right, right.

[00:55:12] Is that Alex?

[00:55:13] They didn't do very many.

[00:55:14] Alex has that one.

[00:55:17] Yeah, that was the only shoujo beat one that they did.

[00:55:20] Yeah.

[00:55:21] Because most of them were shounen.

[00:55:24] You know what you should start collecting?

[00:55:26] What?

[00:55:27] The Attack on Titan colossal editions.

[00:55:29] Those things are hideous.

[00:55:32] What?

[00:55:33] I think they're great.

[00:55:35] But.

[00:55:36] Dude, I literally I bought like there was one year for Christmas.

[00:55:40] I bought Cindy like because there was a series she wanted to read.

[00:55:43] I bought her five hardcovers.

[00:55:46] And like these these books like started at like 400 pages and like the most recent one at the time was like close to a thousand pages.

[00:55:55] So there was like a good like 4000 pages ish of book and there are hardcovers.

[00:56:01] And the one colossal edition Attack on Titan book that she got me weighed more than all of them together.

[00:56:08] So I'm not going to lie like Attack on Titan, I think still has like some of the ugliest spines in like manga right now, like the regular editions.

[00:56:18] And the other editions are like the colossal editions.

[00:56:21] And they're nice sets, but I just don't trust Kandasha to like do quality fucking manga releases.

[00:56:29] Well, I mean, the pages themselves are, I'd say, comparable to like the Viz Bigs, like the like the glossy kind of page.

[00:56:41] The only thing I would say is if you can at a decent price, I'd say buy them in store because some of the ones I got from Amazon.

[00:56:50] Amazon drivers don't really like their jobs very much.

[00:56:53] I've noticed.

[00:56:53] No, so here's the fun.

[00:56:55] You bring this up, but the Barnes and Noble near me, they have three colossal editions and all of them have tears on the spine on the shelf.

[00:57:03] And I was like, that's lovely.

[00:57:04] Well, that happened with like one of them that I got like they it showed up damaged, but all the rest are fine.

[00:57:10] It's just.

[00:57:12] It's just having a good place to store them, because like I said, one of them weighed more than five pretty hefty hardcovers.

[00:57:20] Are we talking like.

[00:57:22] So you want to you what?

[00:57:24] Like, are we talking like Berserk Helsing weight or.

[00:57:29] Maybe more, honestly.

[00:57:32] Hmm.

[00:57:33] Because these because these are five and ones and they're bigger.

[00:57:39] So yeah, can Dasha.

[00:57:40] Can Dasha is a quality.

[00:57:43] It's hilarious collecting manga over the years now.

[00:57:45] These last like four years, I've become kind of like a tune to the different publishers.

[00:57:50] And how like they have their different strengths and weaknesses like this.

[00:57:55] By far has the most variety.

[00:57:58] They're generally the most consistent, but their actual quality is all over the place.

[00:58:03] Yeah, it's no consistency at all.

[00:58:05] Like you look at the spines and they're all like fucking none of them match like the volumes are all different sizes.

[00:58:10] Like it's like, it's like, yeah, whatever.

[00:58:13] I'm not that much of a stickler for it.

[00:58:15] I just it's funny to notice.

[00:58:19] I've noticed very quickly that like seven seas has by far the best quality overall.

[00:58:24] But God forbid if you miss out on collecting a seven seas series like when it comes out and you try to get it later, it's most likely out of print and good luck finding it for a good price.

[00:58:34] Hmm.

[00:58:35] Hmm.

[00:58:36] Um, yen press is okay there.

[00:58:38] Their consistency is a little weird.

[00:58:40] They tend to take forever to release shit.

[00:58:43] Well, yen presses.

[00:58:45] I mean, I could be mistaken, but isn't the end press mostly light novels?

[00:58:49] No, yen press does a whole bunch of stuff like they do.

[00:58:53] Fruit baskets was yen press.

[00:58:55] Oh, she knows.

[00:58:56] Oh, she knows goes in press.

[00:58:58] Okay.

[00:58:59] That's why I asked why I can't find it like to just to read like for a subscription digitally.

[00:59:04] Yeah, yen press does a lot of interesting stuff.

[00:59:09] I know you have press because they do the sort of online books.

[00:59:14] Hmm.

[00:59:15] They do that they're doing what's a series.

[00:59:18] I oh, they did.

[00:59:19] Um, my time, right?

[00:59:21] No, no slimes.

[00:59:23] Kadasha.

[00:59:24] Okay.

[00:59:25] Yeah, the slime three in ones.

[00:59:28] Really?

[00:59:29] Yeah, you're better off by all this is just my personal thing.

[00:59:32] I mean, I'm not impressed with the kandashas green ones at all.

[00:59:36] I mean, I don't know.

[00:59:37] I was more referring to light novels.

[00:59:40] Oh, like I believe they did.

[00:59:44] They did the late novel as well.

[00:59:48] Mm hmm.

[00:59:48] But their manga, their manga three ones are if like they just like they're like the viz three in ones, but worse somehow.

[00:59:57] Mm hmm.

[00:59:59] Um, there's also vertical but vertical does like such a low amount of stuff that it's kind of like, I think I have like two vertical series I'm collecting right now.

[01:00:09] Do you know who does the Jojo's this is it is wow.

[01:00:15] Yeah, they're just super high quality.

[01:00:17] They just went like fucking balls of the wall for Jojo apparently.

[01:00:21] I think that has more to do with the Jojo creator just being extra with fucking everything he does.

[01:00:26] Yeah, that tracks that tracks.

[01:00:29] He probably that was probably part of his stipulation because I mean, it's not as extra as Dark Horse like Dark Horse doing like the Berserk like Hellsing and now Trigun like leather bound fucking like special editions.

[01:00:42] Those are so pretty.

[01:00:44] They're so fucking pretty.

[01:00:45] They're pretty.

[01:00:46] I just can't get into Berserk.

[01:00:47] I want them in my shelf.

[01:00:50] You know what I love to every time you see a collection like someone's like look at my Berserk collection.

[01:00:55] They're all still wrapped and everyone's like read your goddamn manga like just leave your manga.

[01:01:00] Leave them on the shelf just to collect them coming from the video game collector.

[01:01:06] Hey, I open my games and play them.

[01:01:08] I just don't play them all all the time.

[01:01:12] I don't leave things sealed.

[01:01:13] I'm very much against that.

[01:01:14] Like when I buy something I open it.

[01:01:16] That's fair.

[01:01:19] Yeah, those leather bounds are really nice.

[01:01:21] I kind of wish more companies would do that.

[01:01:23] But yeah, I definitely like like I really want the Berserk one.

[01:01:26] I actually I just like pretty much caught up to where I had originally left off years ago on Berserk.

[01:01:34] So I'm getting to the point now where I'm going to start hitting like all stuff that I haven't read before and I'm very excited about it.

[01:01:41] But I really want to get the Trigon ones because I got interested in the series this year because I watched both of the animes and I really liked what I saw.

[01:01:50] But I want to read the manga so I can kind of understand it on a deeper level.

[01:01:55] I mean Trigon is good to get into now because it just started.

[01:01:57] So like you can actually like kind of collect it as it goes.

[01:02:00] Yeah, so maybe maybe if I get like an Amazon card or something I'll still work on that because that's going to be a lot shorter than Berserk.

[01:02:10] I am going to eventually get the Berserk ones, but that's that's a that's a big commitment.

[01:02:16] There's 14 of those.

[01:02:18] Yeah, I mean, I love his art.

[01:02:21] I just like for some reason the story just doesn't grab me.

[01:02:24] I don't know why.

[01:02:27] It's very dark.

[01:02:29] It's that might honestly be it.

[01:02:31] I'm just it's it might be too dark for me because I as I've learned I like my slice of life's learned recently.

[01:02:40] Yeah, that's one of the things that I like a lot about Kogi us when I watched it this past week because they're like it's one of those kinds of series that like has like a big blend of genres like anime genres.

[01:02:52] Like obviously it's get the mech style of it.

[01:02:55] It got the whole like kind of like revolution like overthrow of the government shit from like, you know, full metal.

[01:03:04] It but then at the same time he the dudes going to high school and shit.

[01:03:08] So like you get like those kinds of slice of life high school sections.

[01:03:11] It's almost like a full metal panic but less.

[01:03:15] Infused on what it wants to be.

[01:03:17] Yeah, like it.

[01:03:18] It's got a solid blend of different vibes to it.

[01:03:23] And I don't know it just came together in such a fun way.

[01:03:29] I don't mean it just it's really good.

[01:03:31] But I definitely think you should give it a watch.

[01:03:35] I have both the blu rays.

[01:03:36] I just have haven't sat down and watched them yet.

[01:03:39] Oh, and if we do come down to see you next weekend, I'm going to bring my hard drive so I can give you dark and a black.

[01:03:46] Okay.

[01:03:47] Because that's gotta happen.

[01:03:50] No worries.

[01:03:50] And anything else you want.

[01:03:52] That's on my hard drive.

[01:03:53] I have a fair amount of stuff.

[01:03:56] Yeah, no problem.

[01:03:58] Um.

[01:04:00] Yeah, other than that, Mank collecting.

[01:04:02] I think I've collected all the series I really wanted to get caught up on now I'm just kind of like, I've got ongoings.

[01:04:09] Yeah, well, I still have some stuff I got to catch up on I I am behind on Boruto.

[01:04:14] I think I'm only up to like volume 12 or 13 and there's 20 of like the original Boruto series.

[01:04:19] And now we got two blue vortex.

[01:04:22] I don't know how many if any volumes of that have come out yet.

[01:04:25] I have no idea.

[01:04:26] I know, like in terms of like on I have all the ongoings and collecting like the only unfinished series that I'd like to finish at some point is.

[01:04:41] Rene, which is it was the series of Miko Takahashi did right after you know, it's 40 volumes and I have like the first.

[01:04:53] I think I have like the first like 17 volumes and then I have volumes 39 and 40 because I just happened to find them one day.

[01:05:01] Hmm.

[01:05:03] That's my one that I've kind of I have been grabbing it progressively like I'll grab like maybe like a volume or two every like couple of months but it's that's such a long commitment.

[01:05:12] I don't know if I'm gonna do finish it anytime soon.

[01:05:16] I gotcha.

[01:05:17] I mean, it's I don't know.

[01:05:19] I'm like, because I know I still need to finish Yu-Gi-Oh!

[01:05:24] Like I, I need like I think four more volumes for that or for the three and ones I should say.

[01:05:33] They're not technically mine, but I do want to get Xander more of one piece because he's only got up through like the beginning of Skypiea, which I mean is still.

[01:05:42] It's still like a quarter of the way through the series like it's funny how a lot of these early arcs like take up like how much space of like the total amount of story that actually takes up.

[01:05:53] Yeah, well, it's kind of crazy because like then you get to like Wano which is just long.

[01:05:58] Yeah, well, I think the anime like extended it so far like like yeah, the manga, the manga was long for Wano but it's not nearly as long as the anime made it seem.

[01:06:11] That's actually one thing I did like about the three and ones for one piece because I remember when Alex was collecting them.

[01:06:16] Well, she still is collecting them.

[01:06:18] Fun fact that three and one for episode for volumes 100 101 and 102 actually just came out and I getting that products for Christmas.

[01:06:27] Yep.

[01:06:29] Actually, that was one of the options I did.

[01:06:35] I did throw out there when we were trying to figure out what we're going to do next, because I mean you technically have all of it available to you.

[01:06:42] The thing is, though.

[01:06:44] Not going to lie.

[01:06:46] Alex is not going to let me read those before she does.

[01:06:50] I I pretty sure she's read East blue.

[01:06:53] So believe it or not, she hasn't actually read the physical books yet.

[01:06:56] She's only been reading it digitally.

[01:07:01] Well, she's read it.

[01:07:02] I'm just saying.

[01:07:03] Yeah, but Alex is weird like that.

[01:07:04] She was.

[01:07:05] I guarantee you she doesn't.

[01:07:06] She won't want me reading her books before she does.

[01:07:10] So it's like one of those weird things that that's kind of weird to have 100 books that you 100 books in a series.

[01:07:17] You ever read a single one of them yet.

[01:07:20] Alex's priorities are weird.

[01:07:22] That's fair.

[01:07:23] She's also really busy.

[01:07:26] That's true.

[01:07:27] Yeah.

[01:07:29] I'd be better off just I'd honestly be better off just getting the shown in app.

[01:07:33] Yeah, probably.

[01:07:36] That's why I mean, I hate the fact that they split it because it's like there's so many series on the visit itself now.

[01:07:44] But like all the like shown in stuff is now on the shown in app.

[01:07:49] Yeah, I get any ashes on this, which is interesting because before they split them, you couldn't read any action for free.

[01:07:56] Yeah.

[01:07:58] But I mean, that is there's a possibility if that's something we wanted to go for because I mean the early arcs are pretty short.

[01:08:07] So like it wouldn't be like a super huge commitment.

[01:08:10] And then hopefully by the time they are started getting longer by that point, you'd be invested and actually injured, you know, enjoying the process.

[01:08:17] So yeah.

[01:08:21] And take it from me.

[01:08:23] It's a lot easier getting into the series reading it rather than watching it.

[01:08:28] Yeah.

[01:08:29] Yeah, honestly, Kaguya-sama is one of the ones where like reading it is an interesting experience compared to watching it.

[01:08:36] I mean, like both both the both the manga and the anime stand on their own.

[01:08:42] But like reading, it's a completely different experience.

[01:08:45] Yeah, like with one piece, it's it's weird because like, like I watched a decent I think I watched like up to our long park in the anime.

[01:08:57] Like before I read any of it, and I just stopped watching it.

[01:09:01] I don't even remember why I just I don't know, I just lost interest and stopped watching it.

[01:09:06] And it wasn't until I read the series like all the way up to date before I was like, okay, now I can watch it.

[01:09:14] And I think part of it is because because it started in the late 90s.

[01:09:19] It was like, like the kind of like, I don't know, it just felt like when Toei started animating it, they weren't taking it seriously.

[01:09:29] I don't know, it just feels that way to me.

[01:09:31] And it wasn't until like Thriller Bark that they really were like, okay, let's start jacking up the quality.

[01:09:36] And that was the point where like, the big animation shift happened and it started getting really good.

[01:09:44] I still remember the four kids dub when that premiered.

[01:09:48] Hmm.

[01:09:49] That was a very miserable dub.

[01:09:51] Yeah, no kidding.

[01:09:53] We did get the pirate rap though.

[01:09:55] This is true.

[01:09:57] Alex, Alex hates the pirate rap so much.

[01:10:02] But yeah, it's, it's definitely worth it.

[01:10:05] Oh, Cindy started watching Bleach.

[01:10:08] Still can't get into it.

[01:10:09] I've tried so many times.

[01:10:11] I don't even remember what it was that made her want to watch it.

[01:10:14] She just started watching it.

[01:10:16] She only watched a couple episodes, but.

[01:10:18] I wonder if it's because it's kind of like getting that resurges right now.

[01:10:22] It could be.

[01:10:23] I think, I think it was like somebody was talking to her about it and said she should watch it.

[01:10:28] Um.

[01:10:30] But yeah, she, she only watched a couple episodes of her, but she likes it so far, at least.

[01:10:35] Um.

[01:10:38] There's a ton of season threes coming out next year.

[01:10:43] Season threes.

[01:10:44] Well, season third.

[01:10:46] Well, a ton of new anime seasons coming out next year, I should say.

[01:10:49] Yeah.

[01:10:50] Like, um.

[01:10:53] Oshinoko season three, uh.

[01:10:56] Spy family season three.

[01:10:56] Spy family season three.

[01:10:59] It's confirmed for next year, so.

[01:11:02] It'd be nice to get an update on Dragon Ball Super, but I'm not holding my breath.

[01:11:06] Yeah, that's, uh.

[01:11:10] You can put Dragon Ball Super with Kaguya-sama season four, with both of us being like, maybe someday.

[01:11:16] It's still more likely than, uh.

[01:11:19] Komi season two.

[01:11:21] Yeah.

[01:11:23] I still, you know what baffles me on the Komi thing?

[01:11:27] That manga, there's so much adapt.

[01:11:30] Like, it's not even like a case where they ran out of material.

[01:11:33] It's just, they did like the first like section, and then they ended it right when it gets interesting.

[01:11:38] Hmm.

[01:11:38] See, the thing is with Dragon Ball Super, like, if they keep dragging their feet, they're gonna fucking lose Masako Nozawa.

[01:11:45] Before they're able to do like, you know, Moro and Granola and all that.

[01:11:49] Like, she's getting up there, man.

[01:11:52] She's old.

[01:11:52] I know.

[01:11:53] The fact that she's even still working is a miracle in itself.

[01:11:57] Yeah.

[01:11:58] Like, so, they keep dragging their feet, they're gonna lose the voice of Goku.

[01:12:04] And that's a big deal.

[01:12:05] Like, I don't even know if they'll even animate anything after she dies.

[01:12:08] Yeah, because in Japan, when an actor dies, or actress dies, generally they end up killing off the character.

[01:12:16] Yeah.

[01:12:16] Well, I mean, with Dragon Ball, there's usually some wiggle room, but like Masako Nozawa is such an iconic actress for that role.

[01:12:24] Like, you can't just replace her.

[01:12:27] Which is hilarious, because I can't stand watching Dragon Ball Super.

[01:12:31] See, I've grown an appreciation for it, personally.

[01:12:34] Like, that chick got some fucking lung.

[01:12:37] If we're talking about some fucking lung capacity, she got it.

[01:12:39] I mean, it's impressive.

[01:12:40] I just could never...

[01:12:42] I can't watch Subbed generally in general, but...

[01:12:47] Fair.

[01:12:49] Yes.

[01:12:49] Other new seasons, though, ZOM 100 season 2 could be coming out.

[01:12:54] I'm looking forward to that.

[01:12:56] That's gonna be good.

[01:12:56] Uh, Kaiju number 8 season 2.

[01:13:00] Uh, My Happy Marriage season 2.

[01:13:02] I can't wait for that one.

[01:13:03] And that's coming out next month?

[01:13:06] No.

[01:13:07] That fucking OVA, like, just fucking left me with like, I want more.

[01:13:11] Damn it.

[01:13:11] I haven't watched it yet.

[01:13:14] Uh, it'll make you want more.

[01:13:15] That's all I'll say.

[01:13:17] I might even just wait until...

[01:13:20] Wait until the new season comes out, and then...

[01:13:22] Do it like that.

[01:13:24] You don't want that easy entry for the list?

[01:13:28] No.

[01:13:28] Well, I mean...

[01:13:29] I mean, I could do that, but...

[01:13:33] I mean, if I was gonna go for easy entries, I would just watch a movie.

[01:13:36] Cause there's plenty of movies that's something to see.

[01:13:38] True.

[01:13:38] I mean, I've counted every OVA as a separate entry on the list, so...

[01:13:43] Hmm.

[01:13:44] Oh, Trigon Stampede season 2.

[01:13:46] I'm looking forward to that.

[01:13:48] Uh, what else is coming out?

[01:13:51] Uh, there's more stuff.

[01:13:53] I'm just brain farting at the moment.

[01:13:57] Oh, I think solo leveling season 2 is also coming out.

[01:14:01] Oh yeah, when, uh, we get any news about when the Chainsaw movie coming out?

[01:14:05] No, Chainsaw Man is one of the ones that's like...

[01:14:09] What's the hold up?

[01:14:11] Yeah.

[01:14:13] Um, cause you know what I noticed too?

[01:14:15] The hype for Chainsaw Man died.

[01:14:18] Like...

[01:14:18] Well, that's cause they did, they did 12 episodes and then they're like, okay, we're done.

[01:14:23] Like, like we're gonna do a movie eventually.

[01:14:27] Yeah.

[01:14:27] But like, you can't leave people hanging that long and expect interest to stay.

[01:14:31] Like, Chainsaw Man is great, I enjoyed it immensely.

[01:14:35] But the fact is, it's still a new series.

[01:14:39] Hmm.

[01:14:39] And it doesn't have the kind of like...

[01:14:43] It's not like Dragon Ball 1-Bs where fans will sit and wait for six years for a new...

[01:14:48] Or Attack on Titan, like people won't just sit and wait for years on end.

[01:14:52] And then as soon as it comes out, it's gonna be like, wah!

[01:14:54] You know, like...

[01:14:56] That's the thing.

[01:14:57] It's like, you kind of have to seize the moment.

[01:14:59] Well, it's like Spy Family right now.

[01:15:01] The reason why that's doing so well is because they've been very consistent with it.

[01:15:04] I think the only reason they haven't got more out is because they caught the manga so fast that they were like, shit.

[01:15:11] Yeah.

[01:15:11] We gotta slow down a little here.

[01:15:13] Well, they have enough material now to do a season three, so...

[01:15:16] They do.

[01:15:17] They, for a while there though, it was like...

[01:15:19] It's like, guys, slow down. Endo's not that quick.

[01:15:22] And then the manga's been on a bit of a hiatus.

[01:15:24] Like, not like an outrageous one, but like...

[01:15:27] It's been like a month and we still got another like two weeks before he's gonna put another chapter out.

[01:15:31] Which is a bummer.

[01:15:33] Did you see how gullible people are online recently with the Spy Family thing?

[01:15:38] No, I don't know what you're referring to.

[01:15:40] Did you see the thing about the divorce arc?

[01:15:44] No, I didn't.

[01:15:45] So, this was the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

[01:15:50] Some...

[01:15:51] Some guy on an anime like news site.

[01:15:53] This guy made a troll account and his post like was from a...

[01:15:57] It was like something like that was obvious troll.

[01:16:00] But everyone missed that entirely.

[01:16:02] He posted this image of like the next volume to come out in Japan.

[01:16:07] And it was like...

[01:16:08] I think it was like volume like 14 or something.

[01:16:12] And it had...

[01:16:13] It just had an empty chair on the thing.

[01:16:16] And he just said the caption was just divorce arc coming next.

[01:16:20] And everybody bought it and ran with it.

[01:16:23] And everyone was posting like, is this real? Like divorce arc?

[01:16:25] Like all the fucking anime news sites didn't even check this.

[01:16:29] They were just posting about it.

[01:16:30] And I'm like, you guys are so fucking stupid.

[01:16:32] That's so funny.

[01:16:35] Like...

[01:16:37] I know eventually...

[01:16:38] My theory is that eventually like they're gonna have like an encounter.

[01:16:42] Like Lloyd and Yor like in their actual professions.

[01:16:46] Hmm.

[01:16:47] But I don't think it's gonna be stupid like a divorce thing.

[01:16:50] That's just dumb.

[01:16:52] It also wouldn't surprise me if it just never happened.

[01:16:55] Well yeah, that's the theory too.

[01:16:56] That they just...

[01:16:57] They live in...

[01:16:57] They live in bliss.

[01:16:58] And don't ever know.

[01:17:02] Endo seems like the guy that would troll us with that.

[01:17:04] So I'm not sure yet.

[01:17:05] But...

[01:17:06] Yeah.

[01:17:06] We'll see.

[01:17:08] We will see.

[01:17:09] Time will tell.

[01:17:10] Time will tell.

[01:17:12] Oh yeah, Sakamoto Days is getting a...

[01:17:14] An anime pretty soon.

[01:17:15] That's cool.

[01:17:17] Nice.

[01:17:18] I'll have to check that out when it comes out.

[01:17:20] The manga's been fun.

[01:17:21] It kind of lost the plot a little bit as it went on.

[01:17:23] But I do still kind of look forward to how the anime will handle it.

[01:17:27] Mm-hmm.

[01:17:29] Gotcha.

[01:17:31] Anything else?

[01:17:32] Oh yeah, the...

[01:17:33] Jujutsu Kaisen.

[01:17:34] The next...

[01:17:35] Oh yeah.

[01:17:36] Next arc.

[01:17:36] I'm ready to feel sad.

[01:17:38] Yeah.

[01:17:39] You get even more sad.

[01:17:41] How many more of my favorite characters are gonna die this time?

[01:17:45] Oh, the Attack on Titan movie is coming out.

[01:17:47] Hmm.

[01:17:49] Which is literally just like the final chapter is just squished into a film.

[01:17:53] Oh, Rurouni Kenshin, um...

[01:17:56] The Kyoto arc is coming out right now.

[01:17:59] Uh-oh.

[01:17:59] That's right.

[01:18:00] I forgot about that.

[01:18:02] I'm...

[01:18:03] Just...

[01:18:03] My whole thing is like...

[01:18:04] That's cool.

[01:18:05] I'm gonna watch that eventually.

[01:18:07] Probably next year at some point.

[01:18:08] Cause I'm...

[01:18:09] I'm kinda Rurouni Kenshin'd out at the moment.

[01:18:11] But, um...

[01:18:11] That's fair.

[01:18:12] I just hope when this finishes...

[01:18:15] They say they're doing the third...

[01:18:17] The third arc.

[01:18:18] Cause my god, I wanna see that animated and not that...

[01:18:20] Fast attempt that we got in, um...

[01:18:23] Reflections.

[01:18:25] Yeah.

[01:18:25] Yeah.

[01:18:26] I want...

[01:18:27] I want the legit...

[01:18:28] Like, for reals...

[01:18:31] Adaptation of that.

[01:18:32] Yeah.

[01:18:33] Just cause like...

[01:18:34] I've read a little bit of the manga just to see.

[01:18:36] And I'm like, damn.

[01:18:38] This is like a really good arc.

[01:18:39] Like, I really like this shit.

[01:18:41] Mm-hmm.

[01:18:43] Yeah.

[01:18:45] Um...

[01:18:46] But yeah, I think at the...

[01:18:47] Maybe at this point we can kinda talk about like some of the stuff we're looking forward to.

[01:18:51] Like for...

[01:18:52] Like podcasts wise.

[01:18:53] Like things we...

[01:18:54] We wanna try and shoot for...

[01:18:57] Covering uh...

[01:18:58] For this next year coming.

[01:19:00] I'd like to do more games next year.

[01:19:03] Yeah.

[01:19:03] Yeah.

[01:19:05] See, I...

[01:19:05] I definitely would like to.

[01:19:07] For sure.

[01:19:08] And I'm gonna do my damnedest.

[01:19:09] For sure.

[01:19:11] Um...

[01:19:12] But...

[01:19:13] My time for gaming is limited.

[01:19:14] And my experience with gaming is limited.

[01:19:17] Because...

[01:19:18] I don't know.

[01:19:18] I had a weird...

[01:19:19] I had a weird experience growing up with...

[01:19:20] With games.

[01:19:22] Um...

[01:19:23] I didn't really have friends that played video games.

[01:19:27] For like a while.

[01:19:29] Mm-hmm.

[01:19:29] Like I didn't really get like friends who...

[01:19:31] Who played video games until like maybe middle school.

[01:19:34] And by that point everyone was just playing Call of Duty.

[01:19:37] So I missed a lot of the big names.

[01:19:40] Like a lot of them.

[01:19:41] Because I was just kinda left to my own devices.

[01:19:43] And I was just like, oh I like Dragon Ball.

[01:19:44] I'm gonna play Dragon Ball games.

[01:19:46] Oh I like Pokemon.

[01:19:47] I'm gonna play Pokemon.

[01:19:48] Uh...

[01:19:49] Fucking...

[01:19:49] I like Yu-Gi-Oh!

[01:19:50] I'm gonna play Yu-Gi-Oh!

[01:19:51] You know?

[01:19:51] Like...

[01:19:52] I did that kind of shit.

[01:19:54] Um...

[01:19:54] And like whenever I'd see like...

[01:19:56] Oh this game's doing...

[01:19:57] Oh this new game Mass Effect is doing really well.

[01:20:00] This new game fucking Far Cry is doing really well.

[01:20:03] You know?

[01:20:03] And I never touched any of them.

[01:20:05] You know?

[01:20:05] Never played Metal Gear.

[01:20:06] Never played fucking Bioshock.

[01:20:09] Never played none of that.

[01:20:10] So...

[01:20:11] It's one of those things where like I have a lot of catching up to do.

[01:20:13] I mean even just playing as many like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games as I have in the past few years has been a lot.

[01:20:20] Um...

[01:20:21] Yeah.

[01:20:22] Just JRPGs in general really catching up on those.

[01:20:24] Not counting all the other games.

[01:20:27] Um...

[01:20:27] So it's one of those things where like I definitely want to do more games.

[01:20:31] Uh...

[01:20:32] But as far as playing new games goes...

[01:20:35] Like I can't fully guarantee that I'll have the time to do that.

[01:20:41] Like to...

[01:20:42] Like in like a week's notice say.

[01:20:45] Like...

[01:20:45] Like I'll be like oh let's cover this game.

[01:20:47] Like I've never played a minute of this game.

[01:20:49] So I wouldn't have much to say.

[01:20:50] You know?

[01:20:51] Um...

[01:20:51] But I will do my damnedest.

[01:20:53] Especially if we can try to pick shorter games.

[01:20:55] And uh...

[01:20:57] All honesty.

[01:20:58] Me not having a Switch is gonna put a bit of a damper on some of the options I have.

[01:21:03] Um...

[01:21:03] So that's...

[01:21:04] That's a bit of a bummer.

[01:21:06] But...

[01:21:07] Um...

[01:21:08] But I...

[01:21:09] You know?

[01:21:09] If we can work around it.

[01:21:11] And try to pick some of the ones that I have access to.

[01:21:13] Or have a decent amount of experience with.

[01:21:16] Um...

[01:21:16] I would definitely like to do that.

[01:21:18] Like we could definitely do like Destroy Humans.

[01:21:22] Or um...

[01:21:23] Uh...

[01:21:26] I mean obviously there's any number of Dragon Ball games we could cover.

[01:21:30] Um...

[01:21:30] But I'm sure that would get old for you fast.

[01:21:33] Um...

[01:21:34] I mean Kakarot would be a cool one.

[01:21:36] At some point.

[01:21:37] Yeah.

[01:21:37] I mean that was one that we kind of set aside when we did the big episode on Dragon Ball games.

[01:21:41] Because we intended to do a full episode on it.

[01:21:43] And I do still want to do Legacy of Goku.

[01:21:46] Um...

[01:21:46] Even if we just kind of mash them all into one episode.

[01:21:50] Um...

[01:21:51] I would like to see if we can get like Nova Console Chris on for that one.

[01:21:54] Hmm.

[01:21:55] Because I know he has experience with those games.

[01:22:00] Um...

[01:22:01] But yeah.

[01:22:01] Like that's...

[01:22:02] That's one of those things that...

[01:22:04] If I have the time.

[01:22:06] I...

[01:22:06] I will absolutely jump in and do that.

[01:22:09] Like uh...

[01:22:10] Or even if like if you wanted to...

[01:22:12] You know give Final Fantasy 7 Remake another shot.

[01:22:15] And then we could do an episode on that.

[01:22:16] Or...

[01:22:16] You know what I mean?

[01:22:18] Yeah.

[01:22:19] Because we still...

[01:22:20] You still haven't played 9 right?

[01:22:22] Right.

[01:22:23] Because I know like 9 eventually...

[01:22:26] That would be a fun one to cover.

[01:22:27] Especially because...

[01:22:29] That's uh...

[01:22:30] Aaron's favorite game of all time.

[01:22:31] So that'd be cool to have Aaron join us for that.

[01:22:33] Mm-hmm.

[01:22:34] And I was gonna get the...

[01:22:36] The Dragon Quest...

[01:22:38] Uh...

[01:22:38] 3 2D Remake.

[01:22:41] Um...

[01:22:41] Well I mean I guess I technically could get it on like...

[01:22:44] PlayStation or whatever but...

[01:22:46] That I'd just be running into the same wall of...

[01:22:49] When do I have the TV to myself?

[01:22:51] Yeah.

[01:22:51] You know?

[01:22:52] You have um...

[01:22:52] Because you have a PS5 and an Xbox One right?

[01:22:56] Mm-hmm.

[01:22:58] So I mean I...

[01:22:59] I have the option for that game.

[01:23:00] It's just...

[01:23:01] Oh!

[01:23:02] I didn't mention earlier I...

[01:23:03] I did pick up Attack of the Saiyans again and I'm working on beating that.

[01:23:07] I'm...

[01:23:07] I'm on the last chapter.

[01:23:09] Uh...

[01:23:09] Just collecting the...

[01:23:10] The false Dragon Balls.

[01:23:12] I'm so pumped that like...

[01:23:14] The uh...

[01:23:15] I love that they add those early uh...

[01:23:18] Pre uh...

[01:23:19] Pre-Dragon Ball Z like...

[01:23:21] Story segments at the beginning but then they just glaze over the tournament.

[01:23:25] Yeah.

[01:23:26] That was definitely a bummer.

[01:23:28] Well they probably did that because they were like...

[01:23:29] Oh like we're gonna have all this stuff like...

[01:23:31] You know building up to the Saiyans showing up and then...

[01:23:34] You know we'll do more stuff in the sequel.

[01:23:37] Uh...

[01:23:37] And then Nintendo swapped...

[01:23:39] Swooped in and bought uh...

[01:23:41] Monolith Soft and we're like...

[01:23:43] See ya!

[01:23:44] Yeah.

[01:23:45] But uh...

[01:23:46] Another one I'd like to do an episode on is Dragon Ball Fusions.

[01:23:48] Mm-hmm.

[01:23:50] Cause that's...

[01:23:50] That's a...

[01:23:51] An absolutely wonderful game that doesn't get nearly enough attention or love.

[01:23:55] You know something that I think would be kinda cool but it would probably...

[01:23:59] I'd have to like...

[01:24:01] Lend you my uh...

[01:24:03] DC Universe uh...

[01:24:04] Account to do it.

[01:24:05] It'd be cool to do some like uh...

[01:24:07] Traditional comic reviews.

[01:24:09] Yeah for sure.

[01:24:10] Yeah for sure.

[01:24:11] I'd like that.

[01:24:12] Hmm.

[01:24:12] I'd have to see about how sharing an account works for a DC Universe.

[01:24:16] But if I can like let you borrow mine...

[01:24:18] Uh...

[01:24:18] That would probably be an easy way to read some of that stuff.

[01:24:21] Yeah.

[01:24:22] Well is it like um...

[01:24:24] I guess a lot of that stuff like like...

[01:24:27] Like arc runs or anything?

[01:24:29] Or like multiple issue runs?

[01:24:31] Or are there like standalones?

[01:24:35] So...

[01:24:35] I believe...

[01:24:37] DC Universe has a thing now where like they actually have the uh...

[01:24:40] The trades.

[01:24:41] You can read the uh...

[01:24:42] The trade format.

[01:24:43] So it like it'll have all the issues for like a certain run.

[01:24:46] In one um...

[01:24:49] One thing.

[01:24:50] Rather than have it go to the individual issues.

[01:24:52] Yeah.

[01:24:53] So I was gonna say like if...

[01:24:54] If I could just like...

[01:24:56] Get all of like...

[01:24:59] One...

[01:24:59] Like story arc or...

[01:25:01] Or whatever.

[01:25:01] Like as like a single purchase on like Kindle or something.

[01:25:04] I could probably do it like that.

[01:25:06] Yeah.

[01:25:06] I'd have to uh...

[01:25:07] Look into that because I know...

[01:25:08] I think you can actually buy the uh...

[01:25:10] The trade versions now which have all of the uh...

[01:25:13] The issues for like a story arc together.

[01:25:16] Yeah.

[01:25:16] Cause I know...

[01:25:17] Marvel does something like that.

[01:25:19] Where they like...

[01:25:19] Will match like a ton of issues together as like a...

[01:25:22] I think they call it like the epic collections.

[01:25:26] Um...

[01:25:26] They do it in like trade form.

[01:25:28] Like it's kind of just like the...

[01:25:30] The comic way.

[01:25:31] Yeah.

[01:25:32] I'm not a big Marvel guy.

[01:25:33] So I can't really...

[01:25:35] Go super deep into Marvel.

[01:25:37] Like I have like...

[01:25:38] I think when it comes to Marvel stuff.

[01:25:39] I have like...

[01:25:41] Some Spider-Man.

[01:25:41] That's about it.

[01:25:43] Yeah.

[01:25:43] So I'm not...

[01:25:44] I don't get super crazy into like a lot of fan comic stuff.

[01:25:48] But there was...

[01:25:48] Um...

[01:25:49] There was one Dragon Ball fan comic that I really liked.

[01:25:53] And I would like to cover at some point.

[01:25:55] Like maybe once we finish like all the official Dragon Ball manga stuff.

[01:25:59] Um...

[01:26:00] That Dragon Ball Multiverse.

[01:26:01] It's been going for a long time.

[01:26:04] It's...

[01:26:04] Like...

[01:26:05] Like I caught up to it originally.

[01:26:08] Uh...

[01:26:09] When I was in high school.

[01:26:10] And it was...

[01:26:10] It was a good amount back then.

[01:26:12] Um...

[01:26:13] And they just...

[01:26:14] Continued on.

[01:26:15] Uh...

[01:26:16] They released like a page every like two, three days.

[01:26:18] Something like that.

[01:26:20] Um...

[01:26:21] And it just...

[01:26:21] It's...

[01:26:22] It's been ongoing since longer than Battle of Gods has been around.

[01:26:26] Like...

[01:26:27] By a pretty wide margin.

[01:26:29] So...

[01:26:29] Um...

[01:26:30] And it's a really fun story.

[01:26:32] So I think that would be a fun one to cover at some point in the future.

[01:26:35] You know it would be a cool manga to cover too.

[01:26:37] Now that I think about it.

[01:26:40] Um...

[01:26:40] It's a Shonen Jump one.

[01:26:41] So it would probably be easier.

[01:26:42] Uh...

[01:26:42] The Kage manga.

[01:26:44] Yeah, that is on...

[01:26:45] Yeah, that's on Shonen Jump.

[01:26:47] Yeah, because it's weird that it's a Shonen technically.

[01:26:50] Yeah.

[01:26:51] That'd be a cool one.

[01:26:53] Yeah, there's one that I would...

[01:26:54] I do want to read.

[01:26:56] Uh...

[01:26:56] It's worth reading just because Akka's art is so...

[01:26:58] Is really cool.

[01:27:00] And it's kind of a bummer that he doesn't...

[01:27:01] He's not drawing anymore.

[01:27:03] But...

[01:27:03] Mm-hmm.

[01:27:05] Not taking anything against the artist for Oshinoko.

[01:27:08] She's an excellent artist as well.

[01:27:10] Mm-hmm.

[01:27:11] Yeah, see I definitely want to read more of the stuff that I have on the Shonen Jump app.

[01:27:16] And I do read it.

[01:27:17] Um...

[01:27:18] But...

[01:27:18] Because I've been buying the Kindle editions of Berserk until I finish Berserk.

[01:27:23] That's kind of like...

[01:27:25] Taking up the time that I read...

[01:27:28] Digital comics.

[01:27:31] Um...

[01:27:32] But I've also been whipping through it, so...

[01:27:35] And whenever they're on...

[01:27:36] Because, like, generally what I'll do is I'll buy one volume a week on Kindle.

[01:27:40] But if it's on sale for, like, $5 a pop, I'll buy two.

[01:27:43] Mm-hmm.

[01:27:44] And, um...

[01:27:46] Yeah, that's been really fun going through.

[01:27:48] Um...

[01:27:49] Trying to think of there's another one I was thinking of.

[01:27:52] I mean, I know your time is really limited.

[01:27:57] But, like...

[01:27:58] You know, like, covering, like, smaller novels would be really fun, too.

[01:28:03] Mm-hmm.

[01:28:05] But...

[01:28:05] See, it's like...

[01:28:06] See, we have that same kind of, like, colliding thing where, like...

[01:28:10] I don't have a ton of time to play games.

[01:28:11] You don't have a ton of time to read books.

[01:28:13] So it's like...

[01:28:14] Yeah.

[01:28:15] You know?

[01:28:15] Yeah.

[01:28:18] But I know Cindy and I were talking about doing that side series thing.

[01:28:23] So that would be fun to do.

[01:28:25] Mm-hmm.

[01:28:25] I do still want to do the stand with you.

[01:28:29] Yeah.

[01:28:30] I gotta...

[01:28:34] Yeah, that would be a good one.

[01:28:37] Because you know what?

[01:28:38] I...

[01:28:38] That's actually one thing that I do have on my hard drive, so I could pass that to you

[01:28:41] when I come to see you.

[01:28:43] True.

[01:28:46] Um...

[01:28:46] And a few other things, too, that I have on there.

[01:28:48] I'd have to check and see what I got, but...

[01:28:53] Um...

[01:28:53] Yeah, those are some fun things I'm looking forward to doing.

[01:28:57] Hmm.

[01:28:58] Um...

[01:28:58] I know we talked about doing some of the live-action series this year coming up.

[01:29:03] Hmm.

[01:29:04] So hopefully we can get some of those done.

[01:29:08] I know how we had done the Marvel Cinematic Universe at one point.

[01:29:14] It'd be kind of cool to do some of the DC animated movies, too, going forward.

[01:29:19] Yeah.

[01:29:19] For sure.

[01:29:20] Unfortunately, we're gonna have to figure that out, because Max decided to take half of them

[01:29:24] off their service for some reason.

[01:29:26] Yeah, I saw that.

[01:29:27] I'm not very happy about it, because they're getting rid of Teen Titans and Static Shock,

[01:29:31] uh, among other things.

[01:29:33] And you know what else I'm really upset about?

[01:29:35] They're getting rid of fucking Ed and Eddie.

[01:29:37] Yeah, I...

[01:29:38] Max literally just, like, killed any reason to own that app.

[01:29:43] I'm not gonna lie.

[01:29:45] Yeah.

[01:29:45] Yeah, it's fucking bullshit.

[01:29:47] Unless you want to watch Looney Tunes.

[01:29:50] Yeah.

[01:29:50] I mean, Max...

[01:29:51] I mean, let's be real.

[01:29:52] Max does have a lot of good stuff on it.

[01:29:54] Like, I mean, you also don't care about Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, so that doesn't

[01:29:59] really matter to you.

[01:30:00] But all that stuff's on there for people like me who like that stuff.

[01:30:03] Um, and it's a bunch of like...

[01:30:06] I mean, that's the thing is, Max is really good with movies.

[01:30:09] Like, they have tons of good movies.

[01:30:10] And if you're a Discovery fan, you can watch like Mythbusters or like all the frickin'

[01:30:14] horror shows.

[01:30:16] Oh, yep.

[01:30:17] That's honestly what I've been doing with Max mostly lately.

[01:30:20] And I forget, is Max the one that has like Ghost Adventures and shit?

[01:30:23] Because I know Cindy loves those shows.

[01:30:25] Maybe.

[01:30:26] I can't remember if it's Max or Paramount.

[01:30:28] I can never tell anymore.

[01:30:29] Even Paramount, like, half the Star Treks aren't even on it anymore.

[01:30:33] Yeah, I know.

[01:30:35] Fucking, I don't know, Paramount is like determined to kill Star Trek for some reason.

[01:30:38] Because they, they, I mean, they finished, they, at least they gave Discovery like a proper

[01:30:43] wrap up, even though that's probably the series that deserves it the least.

[01:30:47] Um.

[01:30:48] Yeah, the one that everyone hated.

[01:30:49] Yeah.

[01:30:50] And they fucking canceled Lower Decks, which is the best fucking new Star Trek we had.

[01:30:54] The one that everyone loved.

[01:30:56] Fucking, uh, they literally ditched Prodigy.

[01:31:01] Netflix picked them up.

[01:31:03] Um.

[01:31:04] And I don't even know if that's gonna end up continuing.

[01:31:06] I hope it does.

[01:31:07] Oh, that's another thing I really want to cover is Prodigy.

[01:31:11] Cause that's a really fun, really fun show.

[01:31:14] Um.

[01:31:17] I mean, I do want to do more Star Trek episodes anyway.

[01:31:20] I would, honestly, it was a little disappointing that we only did the one episode this past

[01:31:25] year.

[01:31:26] And then life happened.

[01:31:28] Yeah.

[01:31:29] It was just hard to, it was hard to plan it out.

[01:31:31] And then like, you know, all of a sudden the year went by, I was like shit.

[01:31:33] Like, fuck.

[01:31:35] Maybe we shouldn't have waited on everybody else.

[01:31:37] We should have just done it.

[01:31:39] Yeah.

[01:31:41] Well, what are you gonna do?

[01:31:43] Yeah.

[01:31:44] Um.

[01:31:46] But no, there's a lot of stuff I'm really looking forward to, to, to covering in the show in

[01:31:50] this upcoming year.

[01:31:52] I think I, I said it for the same for 3DO, but like more, more guest episodes.

[01:31:57] That's something I want to try and plan out next year.

[01:32:00] For sure.

[01:32:01] And like I said, I'd like to get novel console Chris on for the legacy Goku episode.

[01:32:05] Uh, whenever we get around to covering Dragon Quest to any degree, uh, we get Thrak on for

[01:32:10] that.

[01:32:11] Um, you know, obviously Aaron for final fantasy nine.

[01:32:15] And then just in general, like whatever we want to cover from that point onward, if we

[01:32:19] want to do like more gameplay movies or whatever, we can maybe see if Rick wants to join us for

[01:32:23] that or.

[01:32:24] That'd be cool.

[01:32:27] Yeah.

[01:32:27] Honestly, there's a whole bunch of fun stuff.

[01:32:31] And then once we eventually get around to covering the live action one piece, I'm sure

[01:32:34] Alex would love to join us for that.

[01:32:36] So she'll be there.

[01:32:39] We should make her join us for Dragon Ball evolution.

[01:32:44] That would be fun to get her to watch that.

[01:32:46] I don't know if I can, if I can convince her, but.

[01:32:52] That movie is not that hard of a movie.

[01:32:53] It's entertaining in its own way.

[01:32:56] Much like Netflix Death Note.

[01:32:58] The hair gel gag is funny.

[01:33:00] I still think that was pretty funny.

[01:33:02] The fucking.

[01:33:02] I still can't get over that one video of him sliding on the car.

[01:33:07] Yeah.

[01:33:10] But it's still like the most out of character Chi Chi though in that entire series.

[01:33:15] Yeah.

[01:33:16] Where she's like actually cool.

[01:33:19] She does stuff.

[01:33:20] Yeah.

[01:33:21] That's it's kind of bad, but that's like one of the best versions of Chi Chi out there.

[01:33:26] Well, the best anime version of Chi Chi is in the non canon wedding dress filler.

[01:33:31] So yeah, that's true.

[01:33:33] It's like that poor character got the shack so many times.

[01:33:38] Oh, we got to cover start covering the Z movies too.

[01:33:41] We do.

[01:33:42] Those will be fun.

[01:33:43] Especially those early ones.

[01:33:45] Don't forget to add the, the OG Dragon Ball movies to your, your list of completed anime.

[01:33:50] Well, I had already watched those years ago, so they're already.

[01:33:53] Yeah.

[01:33:53] But I mean, I mean, I don't know about everybody else, but I'm keeping separate tabs for rewatches

[01:33:58] too.

[01:33:59] So I'm going to mention rewatches, but I'm not counting them on my main list.

[01:34:04] Yeah.

[01:34:04] Well, I'm probably going to like list up all the new ones and then I'll list off all the

[01:34:07] rewatches or fights.

[01:34:09] Yeah.

[01:34:10] I'm tempted to, if I want to talk about manga I read this year, but that might be a, I

[01:34:14] was going to bring it up just as a conversation point.

[01:34:16] Yeah.

[01:34:18] That was my thought.

[01:34:20] You know, it doesn't have to be like part of like the like official like structure

[01:34:23] of it, but if we want to talk about it in general, I don't see why not.

[01:34:27] Hmm.

[01:34:31] Yeah.

[01:34:31] Yeah.

[01:34:32] Of course, by the time this comes out, that will have already been recorded and released.

[01:34:35] Yeah.

[01:34:37] Most likely.

[01:34:39] Um, yeah.

[01:34:40] So we're at about an hour and a half.

[01:34:42] Any other things we wanted to cover before we wrap up or?

[01:34:45] No, not particularly, you know, just kind of, just kind of shooting the shit on this

[01:34:49] one really.

[01:34:50] Yeah.

[01:34:51] Um, yeah, I think that'll be a good enough time to wrap it up then.

[01:34:54] Um, so, uh, yeah, once again, guys, uh, thank you for joining us on a geek addicts.

[01:35:01] Uh, you can find.

[01:35:02] Geek addicts on all the major podcasting platforms, particularly Apple podcast and

[01:35:12] Uh, awesome site, tons of great different podcasts, shows, um, videos, uh, blogs, uh,

[01:35:19] at the time of this recording, I'm not sure what kind of blogs we're doing over on the site,

[01:35:22] but I'm sure there's an awesome like series or something going on.

[01:35:25] Um, I'm sure by this point we'll probably be doing like the favorite games from the second

[01:35:29] half of the year.

[01:35:31] Cause I know Aaron was talking about that.

[01:35:33] So I think, I think that'll probably be what's current.

[01:35:35] Yeah.

[01:35:35] It's either that'll be current or it'll already be out, but either way, like tons of cool

[01:35:39] stuff like that.

[01:35:40] Um, I don't know if we're going to do Christmas theme blogs.

[01:35:42] That'd be kind of cool, but I don't know how we handle that.

[01:35:46] Yeah.

[01:35:48] Um, other than that though, be sure to check out all the awesome shows over on the

[01:35:52] network, like super pod saga, super ghost radio, retro rehab, uh, Tommy's video game,
