[00:01:31] So I just gave them to him. I was like, I'm not gonna like this if it's spicy. I can't even eat like sriracha.

[00:01:36] Because my stomach just starts hurting. It's not that it's too hot. It's that as soon as it starts like bubbling in my stomach, my stomach is just like, alright, kill yourself.

[00:01:53] And this might be a strong stance, but I feel like I'm more of a pho fan than a ramen fan at this point in my life.

[00:03:54] I'm like two car lengths away from the cars where they eventually came to arrest.

[00:04:06] So I'm actually very proud.

[00:05:28] And then I, I didn't say anything like Batman or, you know, like the dark souls story with the ice.

[00:05:35] We all got out and we pushed each other's cars and then we, we laid in the moonlight together and the wolf walked by with a sword in his mouth.

[00:05:42] I am, I have truly been let me solo her.

[00:05:44] Like, like actually, because after that literally the very next day.

[00:05:48] Uh, so the car accident thing happens the next day.

[00:05:51] Uh, I'm doing my mail route.

[00:05:53] And then towards the end, there's this older lady and she was walking and waving, you know, trying to stop me.

[00:05:57] And so I'm like, Oh great.

[00:05:58] I'm about to get fucking screamed at about something.

[00:06:01] She comes up and she's like, Hey, uh, there's a cat stuck in the fence over here by my house.

[00:06:07] And I'm like, what?

[00:06:08] It is like Yakuza sub stories are just happening to me.

[00:06:11] You know what I mean?

[00:06:12] And so I got the little music playing the little jingle from the sub stories and I'm like, okay, yeah, I guess I'll go help.

[00:06:18] And so I, you know, get the cat by the scruff of the neck and then pull the fence apart so we can yank the leg away.

[00:07:00] And I looked downstairs and there's an old lady pulling a cabinet out of the back of her like van and like trying to put it onto this like little roller cart thing.

[00:07:16] And I'm like, cause it's like a, it's like a file cabinet.

[00:07:20] It's not like going to be crazy heavy.

[00:07:24] And so I'm wondering, I'm like, is she going to be okay?

[00:07:27] And then the moment she sets it on the cart, I realized she does not got this.

[00:07:32] And so I just kind of put on clothes and ran outside and helped her do that.

[00:07:36] And I just feel like so bizarre.

[00:07:41] Cause like when one of these things happen, like when you do end up in a Yakuza sub story, it happened.

[00:07:47] It's like odd just that one time, but now having three of them happen in like the course of five days is really bizarre.

[00:09:04] They let you run around.

[00:09:05] All your neighbors are really nice to you because they're just pretending to basically be humans to keep you.

[00:09:17] They're hiding fossils for you to dig up because that's what they think humans like.

[00:09:21] So humans dig up fossils and catch bugs and go fishing because that's what humans like to do.

[00:09:33] It's like this is your this is your zoo enclosure is the animal crossing lifestyle.

[00:10:07] But before we get there, let's just check in with what games we've been playing.

[00:10:32] And then when I went and looked at the calendar, October is there, but it doesn't go to November or December.

[00:10:38] So I'm like, oh, so October is probably the end of the game.

[00:10:41] And I saw like a whole month left, which means I have like fucking 20 more hours left if I continue playing at the speed I'm playing, which I am.

[00:10:49] But, you know, a lot of cool things are happening.

[00:10:51] I'm trying to polish off the the social bonds.

[00:10:55] I literally just got to the open area of October, like the open free time for October.

[00:11:00] So I haven't really done anything.

[00:11:02] I'm really just running around collecting the side missions, seeing what I want to do and all of that.

[00:11:06] There's a lot of achievements that I missed, but that's natural because I'm not using a walkthrough or anything.

[00:11:11] But I don't know. I'm really still very infatuated with the game.

[00:11:16] It's on right now back there.

[00:11:18] That's what I was doing before I cooked my ramen and started working on the notes today.

[00:11:22] I just I just want to I wanted to last as long as possible in some weird way.

[00:11:27] It's similar to Persona 5 whenever I saw that I was about to be done Persona 5.

[00:11:32] It felt really melancholic.

[00:11:33] Like I was like, oh, I had so much fun here.

[00:12:26] My whole new year's resolution was to complete 12 games in Japanese this year.

[00:12:31] And I completed 12, but one of them was juice on juice.

[00:12:37] And I was like, oh, juice on doesn't count because it's it's low dialogue.

[00:12:42] Like, it's just about you escorting a magical creature of a mountain and there's barely any talking.

[00:12:47] So I'm like, I don't know if I count that one.

[00:12:49] Because it's just like the menus and stuff where the only thing really language wise that gave me.

[00:12:55] So I don't count that.

[00:12:56] So I was like, I'll do another one.

[00:12:58] So I was doing Octopath Traveler 2, which is very literate.

[00:13:03] It is mostly reading in that game.

[00:13:06] So I've been working on that for a long time and I'm like, I'm not going to make it.

[00:13:10] It's December and I'm still not finishing Octopath Traveler.

[00:13:13] So I'm like, I'll just do another game.

[00:13:15] That's on my backlog that I know was made by Japanese people and it is in Japanese.

[00:13:19] So I played Ico, which is another low language used game about climbing and escorting magical creatures.

[00:13:26] And I was so angry after like I beat it and there was like sub 200 words in the whole game.

[00:13:32] And I'm like, you've got to be literally the whole the whole script is it can be contained in a tweet.

[00:13:38] It could have been.

[00:13:39] And I was like, oh, this this I can't count this one.

[00:13:42] I don't think like I was going to like bring it to the group as like I need the court of elders on this one.

[00:13:48] I completed two low dialogue games as that count is one regular game.

[00:13:53] But it ended up not mattering because I did beat Octopath Traveler 2.

[00:13:57] But first off, have you played Ico?

[00:14:00] No, I have.

[00:14:02] I have played it for a moment like I played a little bit of it because it got released with Shadow of the Colossus in like a PlayStation 3 like little bundle.

[00:14:09] They did a lot of those back in the PlayStation 3 where they do all the Sly Cooper games or all the God of War games together.

[00:14:15] And I was like, oh, pretty.

[00:14:16] And I played both of those games for a wee bit.

[00:14:20] But I don't know why I didn't.

[00:14:22] I just bounced off of them really fast.

[00:14:23] Not that I didn't like them.

[00:14:25] Just that.

[00:14:25] Yeah.

[00:14:26] I mean, it's a launch title for PlayStation 2.

[00:14:29] So it's kind of showing off what the PlayStation 2 can do.

[00:14:32] And the most interesting thing about it, like I think they really were leaning on the follower mechanic because you have like a character that has like, you know, AI that was probably advanced for the time where it can go where you tell it to and it'll path find.

[00:14:47] And it's not terrible.

[00:14:48] It could be better, but it is actually decent for PlayStation 2 early.

[00:14:53] But what's really interesting is there's no map.

[00:14:57] It feels like Dark Souls one where you just look around, which is weird because the whole thing is in like one giant castle.

[00:15:05] And so you just look over and you're like, ah, there's a windmill over there.

[00:15:09] How do I get over there?

[00:15:10] And then you climb like a nearby tower and you can see like a path through a labyrinth like on another guard wall.

[00:15:17] You're like, oh, I could probably go over there.

[00:15:18] And so there are points in the game where it even takes the camera away from you to give you a better angle to see around the castle.

[00:15:27] So it's an interesting way to play a game in 3D where I like that you have to spatially be aware of where you are and everything is connected.

[00:15:38] I know it was really cool.

[00:15:40] I recommend Naiko.

[00:15:41] Yeah, I mean, I definitely want to go back and play it at some point, but I mean, I don't know if my PlayStation 2 even works anymore.

[00:15:47] So, well, I, of course, played it on original hardware, which by that I mean, I emulated on my Steam Deck and it ran perfectly widescreen hacks and everything.

[00:15:59] God, I need a Steam Deck so bad.

[00:16:01] Oh, dude, you need one like it would change your life.

[00:16:07] And then down to my next game, though, you talk about being sad at approaching the end of, you know, a big RPG.

[00:16:15] I get reached the final boss and Octopath Traveler 2 at like 99 hours and I'm like, man, I'm about to finish the game.

[00:16:22] I didn't beat that boss until like six hours later of me just having to grind because it was just like the boss of the end of what was the game Dragon Quest 11 where it's like even if you're max level that boss will still be your ass.

[00:16:39] It was just like, oh, yeah, I don't think I beat it.

[00:16:41] I never beat it either.

[00:16:43] Like where you fought Space God in this one where you fight Space God.

[00:16:47] Yeah, I'm pretty sure I was just like, well, fuck this.

[00:16:49] Yeah, that's what I did, too.

[00:16:50] I'm like, I've done enough.

[00:16:52] I'm at 110 hours in this game.

[00:16:54] But no, I needed to finish this one.

[00:16:56] I needed to roll credits and I did.

[00:16:59] I eventually beat him.

[00:17:00] You just have to get good at the head of your team pretty much.

[00:17:04] What really fucked me was, like I said before, I was under leveled.

[00:17:08] And so I had like four good Octo Travelers, but my other four were terrible in the for the first time.

[00:17:15] Slight spoilers, I guess in the whole Octopath Traveler 2, they make you fight with all eight characters at one time.

[00:17:22] Really cool, but sucks because half my team was dying in one hit.

[00:17:27] And I'm like, oh, no, I can't do this.

[00:17:31] But I eventually did it.

[00:17:32] Yeah, it's like kind of like Final Fantasy 7 a little bit.

[00:17:35] Is that what they do there?

[00:17:36] Because they got to do that.

[00:17:37] Yeah, you have to fight.

[00:17:38] You have to fight the last boss and in two teams.

[00:17:41] Like it splits your party up into two teams.

[00:17:43] So you have to like put your good people, half of them in one team and half of them in the other.

[00:17:47] It's like, fuck, I wasn't prepared for this.

[00:17:50] All right, so I did that.

[00:17:51] And then, you know, credits roll and they have an epilogue where it's like all the travelers come together.

[00:17:56] And they in reverse order of you gaining them.

[00:17:59] They each say goodbye and go on their own way.

[00:18:02] And then they come back and they're like a year later and they go to like a this is a big spoilers, I guess, because I don't know how many people are going to make it this far in this game.

[00:18:10] Anyways, you go to a big theater and one of your characters, the dancing girl, goes up on stage and she does a big speech about the importance of traveling and how we're all travelers and to the new dawn and stuff like that.

[00:18:23] And then she's talking to the audience and then it turns the camera around.

[00:18:28] So the audience is like looking at you on the stage and then she turns around and looks at you, too.

[00:18:33] And it's like every character you interacted with across the whole game in like every little side story.

[00:18:40] They're all there and they're like it just is like, thanks for traveling with us.

[00:18:44] And I was like, oh, fuck, I'm going to cry.

[00:18:47] Like this is so brutal.

[00:18:49] And it's like, you know, I got me.

[00:18:53] So I had to put this.

[00:18:54] This might have been like a high S tier, probably the third best game I've played this year, despite the struggle I went through with it.

[00:19:03] It was it hurt my heart at the end to say goodbye.

[00:19:06] Yeah, those long JRPGs, they kind of do that to you sometimes, you know, we were just talking about that.

[00:19:14] Like even through Ico, I was mid and it wasn't even long.

[00:19:19] And at the end, they like flip it on you.

[00:19:26] This went from a low C game to a A game just because of the ending.

[00:19:34] Let's talk about mouthwash.

[00:19:48] This is a game that just kind of came out of nowhere.

[00:19:53] Nave is just like mouthwashing in the goof troop.

[00:19:56] And I'm like, I don't know what that is.

[00:19:58] Turns out I wish listed it on Steam like a month ago.

[00:20:00] But Nave, you instantly bought it based on something.

[00:20:04] Like what was your thought process?

[00:20:06] And then you bought it for me after that.

[00:20:08] Yeah, so I, as if that's not a huge endorsement enough.

[00:20:12] But like I just had a couple of people mention to me.

[00:20:14] Like, hey, like bringing it up to me and going, hey, this is your shit, Nave.

[00:20:19] And I'm like, okay.

[00:20:21] I played this game and I saw you.

[00:20:28] And then people were like one person in particular I was talking to on Twitter.

[00:20:34] I think the computer, if you can edit on it, you can probably run mouthwashing.

[00:20:37] Which there is a part that almost crashed my computer.

[00:20:40] Like genuinely.

[00:20:42] And this game is like a low poly or game.

[00:20:43] Well, it does some fake crashes.

[00:20:47] The thought process was I didn't want to know anything about it.

[00:20:51] And everyone was telling me not to look into it at all.

[00:20:53] And so I was like, okay, I'm just going to buy this on a whim.

[00:20:56] And I also decided to just test play it just to see if my computer could run it.

[00:21:01] So I was like, I'll play it for like 15 minutes.

[00:21:03] And I ended up beating it in that one sitting.

[00:21:06] And then it was like, it was like, I started playing at like midnight.

[00:21:09] And so it was like 2.15.

[00:21:11] And I had to work in the morning.

[00:21:13] And I was like, oh no.

[00:21:14] What happened?

[01:11:31] like and i just don't know like one of the worst is i think it's scarlet witch has diva's alt where

[01:11:37] she just blows up and i never i would die to that every time i would i never knew she was doing it um

[01:11:45] it's just there's so many like annoying things about like the way that they relay information to you

[01:11:51] that is just kind of pathetic just for someone who has all of this money it's like one of the biggest

[01:11:57] like one of the biggest corporations net ease and all of gaming and one of the biggest ips marvel

[01:12:01] owned by disney and it's like this is just pathetic the the level of quality we've got here it should

[01:12:07] be the bar should be so much higher for you guys like i want to compare to valorant which is very

[01:12:13] clean with its visual like design yes with the mini map and everything like looking at valorant where i

[01:12:20] can see everything and still be bad at the game which sucks to this game where it's like we still come

[01:12:25] out usually the top fraggers on our team pretty much every match we played and i can't tell what's

[01:12:33] going on most of the time it's just like a smash bros fiesta yeah with items you know it's literally

[01:12:38] like you don't need to know generally like you can just like you can just like walk into every fight

[01:12:44] and just do your own thing without communicating with anyone and not do not pinging not doing anything

[01:12:50] you're just doing one thing over and over again and you can be moderately successful at that there

[01:12:54] was only a few matches i ever played where i really really sucked and uh like one was when i was

[01:13:00] playing venom and it was probably because i was the only tank on the team with a with no healer and so

[01:13:05] i was just out there and i would just get focused and killed and my whole team is in the back line

[01:13:10] shooting from the distance i was playing with don tree in that game and he was trying to convince

[01:13:14] me to stop playing venom but i was like no i'll never change i never change characters like yeah it's

[01:13:20] like i'm playing legal legends but um yeah i think that that's something yeah you can change whenever

[01:13:27] but uh one of the things that uh i think i'm glad you brought this up because i feel like since we're

[01:13:33] being so negative a lot of people are going to be like oh skill issue maybe you're bad huh i know

[01:13:42] to believe that and we genuinely were doing very very well in this game whenever we would play it

[01:14:54] overwatch always felt tactical when i was playing it you needed to have a reinhardt with a shield wall

[01:14:59] and you slowly push and it was very methodical and you did the same thing every game where you played

[01:15:05] your main is that tactical i i know that was like the meta whenever i was is that tactical where you

[01:15:10] nine years ago that's what i'm saying is that tactical if everyone's just doing the same thing

[01:15:16] over and over again if that's the best tactic yeah like look at i don't know football everyone has a

[01:15:22] group of linemen you don't see some people going like everybody's spread out i got a plan like it's

[01:15:27] if it works you can't do that in football everyone has to do that in football you have to have

[01:15:34] linemen you don't have to have one you can't just have you can't just have 15 what do you mean you

[01:15:39] can't have 15 wide receivers on the field what are you talking about who's gonna stop the other

[01:15:45] linemen from killing you no well i mean you just gotta do really fast passes you just gotta mash the

[01:15:50] x-pun oh you're right but i'm saying like there's nothing wrong with having 20 wide receivers

[01:15:56] on your team but to actually win in overwatch back in the day this wasn't even overwatch it was just

[01:16:02] base overwatch like you needed to have a reinhardt or some kind of tank that can absorb the wall of

[01:16:09] bullets being sprayed at you while your team slowly pushed up that was just how it was played so in

[01:16:16] this one it doesn't have to be played that way yes there's like six players on a team you probably

[01:16:21] should run two tanks maybe two healers and then like two adcs or damage dealers you probably should

[01:16:28] and then those can be like supplemented in and out where it's like oh they're running iron man we

[01:16:32] should have a scarlet witch on our team to counter or they're running uh shark boy so we should have a

[01:16:38] spider man that can like lasso him to drag him over like there is tactical decisions that could be made

[01:16:46] they're usually not necessary though if your team just wins yeah and this that's the problem with

[01:16:52] this game and a lot of these kinds of games is that every single match i ever played was a shit show

[01:16:57] and it was it was a stomping on one of the sides so i either just got completely blown the fuck out

[01:17:04] and they would win 2-0 or i would win 2-0 and i would just i would have no resistance and i would

[01:17:10] have like three deaths so it's like i and and there's just no predicting what happens either in

[01:17:16] either direction yeah but you can consistently see like we play a match i'm like oh the enemy venom

[01:17:22] actually knows how to play like you like point out like the enemy shark he actually knows how to play

[01:17:26] the game whereas like no one is a threat but this one person on their team and then at the end of

[01:17:31] the game we can see their scoreboard and they're like 40 kills and two deaths or something like that

[01:17:36] or their their lease in or iron fist is just just 1v5ing our whole team like it just happens sometimes

[01:17:43] where i don't even know what you're supposed to be doing in those situations and they say like oh

[01:17:48] what does the description say uh it has oh yeah devise countless strategies there's no devising

[01:17:56] strategies in middle of this game with a group of randoms because as far as pinging goes i think i was

[01:18:03] the only one that ever pinged anything the whole time we were playing and it was only necessary for

[01:18:09] like when spider-man would jump the back line like i don't know like this game isn't being played the

[01:18:15] way it's portraying itself at least that's how i felt when i played it yeah uh nobody's paying

[01:18:23] attention to anything ever i think everyone's just either a child or drunk like i don't know what

[01:18:30] the fuck is going on well we were in quick play maybe it changes in ranked maybe it's a whole different

[01:18:34] game in ranked i kind of doubt it uh i have my reservations i'm pretty sure i i understand this fan

[01:18:44] base really really well i used to be deeply into siege and there is just a dichotomy between like

[01:18:54] siege players and this you know like the this is i understand overwatch i i'm friends with a lot of

[01:20:23] select screen is might be the worst i've ever seen i threw one in there the capcom versus marvel

[01:20:27] one it's just for you to see and this one is terrible this is not the same but i hate

[01:20:31] i like the style but it's also a terrible select screen for some reason the marvel rivals ones is

[01:20:38] worse than the globe that is the marvel versus capcom screen you know you can't imagine selecting

[01:20:43] characters just based on this tiny picture it's the in marvel rivals it's like this weird

[01:20:50] semi-circle that takes up a 12th of the screen and there's so much screen real estate that's just wasted

[01:20:59] like it's bizarre actually and you already you already have this written down but i'm gonna steal

[01:21:04] this from you you can't you don't know what anyone does you have one icon that everyone's categorized in

[01:21:10] like three different groups but i don't really know what those group icons mean because in one of them

[01:23:00] which is penny parker the robot spider like her whole thing is she's very similar to bastion almost

[01:23:07] which she where he sets up a turret only her deal is she drops a zone a spider web that she can then

[01:23:14] gets bonus movement speed healing uh all these bonuses as long as she's in this zone so i can

[01:23:21] just basically drop it on the cart and then just stick to the cart and you become nearly unkillable

[01:23:27] you shoot so fast you your gun doesn't reload so you just hold down the trigger and you just

[01:23:32] constantly spray in one direction uh you shoot like kind of slow orbs but it doesn't matter because

[01:23:37] a lot of damage and kills in even though i was quote unquote a tank too i wasn't even a damage dealer

[01:23:44] but i was still getting a lot of kills that makes the role seem even weirder i'll leave the top one

[01:23:51] out of warlock so i thought penny was really cool did you get a chance to try her uh no damn never played

[01:24:00] that guy um i so i'm looking at the list i i did play black widow uh who was just widow maker

[01:24:09] um and got tons and tons of kills and so as long as there's no like spider-man like this is a pretty

[01:24:16] easy peasy character to play uh i also played groot i did pretty well with him as well i don't know what

[01:24:23] he does i don't know any of his abilities do i didn't learn how to look at your abilities until like

[01:24:27] maybe in the eighth or ninth hour yeah that's not i was playing on xbox uh or maybe it was like the

[01:24:36] 15th hour like it was like towards the last quarter of my play time uh where i realized i could hold the

[01:24:42] up on the d-pad and that's what it does uh i also played hawkeye he is fine he's just the he's the arrow

[01:24:50] bow and arrow guy from before i also played iron man he's pretty lame he just gets killed by black or

[01:24:57] by uh scarlet lady very annoying uh let me see here luna snow is that chick who everyone's playing

[01:25:08] because of how she looks um she is i we this is when we were playing the arcade mode or whatever

[01:25:15] and i got mvp and like the most kills in the game somehow with this fucking this is just a really

[01:25:23] weak healer but i don't even really understand her abilities i didn't know how to look at them

[01:25:29] uh in that game either i played moon knight that was terrible uh the punisher was boring as fuck

[01:26:30] character in the entire game uh to the point where i muted the game because i was tired of hearing her

[01:26:35] but um every single thing she says is fucking obnoxious and her voice is terrible and it's awful

[01:26:41] but she's probably one of the most interesting characters to play even though she is just

[01:26:47] junk rat and that's it but um i don't know i thought i i was doing really well with her yeah

[01:26:58] time spider-man was fun but he's way too squishy so if your team sucks then you're just not going to
