[00:00:00] Technically he did get to go to the hang with the boys, it was a pirate themed game night

[00:00:04] Oh! I'm glad she...

[00:00:06] You can't miss pirate night!

[00:00:08] It's pirate night!

[00:00:10] It totally makes sense why it was on his mind then, you know

[00:00:14] He's at the emergency room with her and he's got on his eye patch and he's like...

[00:00:18] This is from 15 days ago so you know that this is just like all based off of the Yakuza pirates in Hawaii or what?

[00:00:27] That's literally...

[00:00:32] Alright, hit it Phillip, before something bad happens.

[00:00:35] Hello and welcome to Gaming Together, a cooperative podcast. I'm your host Phillip and I'm here with my co-partner Nave.

[00:00:40] Each pod we play through a cooperative experience and relay to you the listener

[00:00:42] if this game is the creme de la creme of call for something better off playing solo.

[00:00:46] Hey Nave, what's up?

[00:00:47] What's going on? Phillip's back everybody! Look at that! I don't have to fuck up the intro anymore!

[00:00:52] I used to make fun of Phillip all the time for it and uh... I did a terrible job.

[00:00:57] No, you did great while I was gone. I was even more impressed by our guest though.

[00:01:01] Uh, Rachel coming in. Aaron being there like every other week. I just got done listening to the Gears of War episode.

[00:01:09] And the amount of uh... clown talk is a little high.

[00:01:13] Yeah.

[00:01:14] But I can allow the clown talk if we can get away from the Pokemon talk.

[00:01:19] Yeah, yeah.

[00:01:21] No more Pokemon leak talk. Yeah, I don't want to hear it either.

[00:01:25] And with that, uh, let's bring in our guest.

[00:01:27] Hmm? Oh, uh, so we have Jake from Press B to Cancel.

[00:01:31] Great, uh, great to be here again. I guess I was last on for the Mario Kart episode, so I'm glad to be back.

[00:01:36] Yeah, dude. That Mario Kart episode was pretty sick. Uh, but it was so long ago. I need to... I've got like a huge backlog of people that I need to reach out to and see what they want to play again.

[00:01:46] Because normally I just go on Twitter and I go, who likes Bellatro? Into the search bar.

[00:01:50] And like, search that way.

[00:01:52] See who's tweeting what.

[00:01:53] Not efficient. Yeah, not efficient at all.

[00:01:55] Did we introduce Rachel already?

[00:01:57] No, I'm here again.

[00:01:57] No. Okay.

[00:01:57] And Rachel's here just hanging out.

[00:02:00] Yeah, Rachel...

[00:02:01] Dragged out of bed.

[00:02:02] Yeah, she was...

[00:02:05] Well, before we had, we had Aaron, Aaron was going to be on again this episode, but he's got to wake up early in the morning. We're recording a little later than usual.

[00:02:12] And so Rachel, we drank last night, played some games, party, you know, it's a Saturday, it's our weekend.

[00:02:17] And, uh, she was just sleeping soundly and I just turned the light on and yelled until she got up.

[00:02:23] Cause I was like, we need, we need a fourth.

[00:02:25] Gotta have a full pod.

[00:02:26] I mean, it's Bellatro.

[00:02:27] This is, this is serious business.

[00:02:29] Serious co-op gaming.

[00:02:31] Yeah.

[00:02:32] Which, uh, Jake, you're from Press B to cancel.

[00:02:35] Would you like to refresh our audience on your show?

[00:02:38] And what do you guys cover?

[00:02:39] Right.

[00:02:40] The promo.

[00:02:40] That's why I'm here, right?

[00:02:41] Yeah.

[00:02:42] You gotta spread the news.

[00:02:44] Yeah, we are shocking a video game podcast.

[00:02:46] I know there's, there's just nobody else that are doing video game podcasts, but we are.

[00:02:50] You can find us over at PressBtoCancel.com or over on YouTube at PressBtoCancel.

[00:02:55] We kind of keep it uniform or you can find us on blue sky.

[00:02:58] Cause Twitter sucks now.

[00:03:00] So find us over at B sky at PressBtoCancel at PressB.org.

[00:03:04] I think, I think I set that up right.

[00:03:06] But yeah, we do pretty much what you guys do every week.

[00:03:09] We talk about a few games and, uh, have some friends on.

[00:03:11] So good time.

[00:03:13] A lot less Pokemon leaks over there.

[00:03:15] Probably.

[00:03:16] I would imagine.

[00:03:18] Well, I'll tell you what the recent story about, um, the origin of certain Pokemon that

[00:03:23] goes deep.

[00:03:24] That deserves an episode.

[00:03:25] I think we need to talk about that in depth.

[00:03:27] It really sheds new light on the whole, you know, kid friendly, uh, kid friendly series.

[00:03:33] Now we know the inner workings of how Pokemon came to be.

[00:03:36] Well, with that, uh, I did want to kind of do like a little announcement.

[00:03:40] This is my return.

[00:03:41] I've been gone for like a month.

[00:03:42] Nave's been covering for me.

[00:03:44] Uh, dear listener, thank you for hanging in there with Nave.

[00:03:47] Uh, he's been, you know, solo in this whole thing.

[00:03:49] Like I have not helped him at all.

[00:03:51] So thanks again for all your hard work.

[00:03:54] Uh, it was fun.

[00:03:56] This is, this is the thing that I like fortunately for us.

[00:03:59] I enjoy doing this.

[00:04:01] But while I was gone though, I got to do some world traveling all the way from Texas to

[00:04:05] Alaska.

[00:04:06] Uh, do you have any questions about the upper Midwest or Canada or Alaska place?

[00:04:12] What place, what place like smelled the worst while you're going through?

[00:04:16] Super easy.

[00:04:18] Uh, up in specifically, uh, great falls.

[00:04:22] Was that Alaska?

[00:04:23] No, it was, it was like great falls, like Colorado or something like that.

[00:04:27] I don't even remember where that place was.

[00:04:28] It was one of those Northern places, but it is a beautiful town, huge river going through

[00:04:34] a giant waterfall.

[00:04:35] Just the middle of the town.

[00:04:36] It looks like a final fantasy city or something incredible.

[00:04:39] But then it's got this refinery just down the river, like right on the town or whatever.

[00:04:46] And apparently it's like, it has like a two star review on Google maps because I had

[00:04:50] a look up and see what it is.

[00:04:52] And they make like asphalt or something like that.

[00:04:55] And it is like the worst smelling place that it's so serenely beautiful, but has this

[00:05:01] odor of raw asphalt being crafted, I guess.

[00:05:07] And they don't smell at all.

[00:05:07] I bet you that's the best place to buy a house.

[00:05:10] It's probably half the price of anywhere else.

[00:05:12] And the views are spectacular.

[00:05:14] It's Montana, by the way.

[00:05:17] Okay.

[00:05:18] Yeah.

[00:05:18] And people are like, they're poisoning the drinking water.

[00:05:20] There's all these reviews of just people very upset about this place.

[00:05:25] And there's people like, it's a great job to have, you know, like half the city's employed

[00:05:29] here.

[00:05:30] But the other half is like, the chemtrails and they're making the mooshes gay.

[00:05:34] It reminds me of, what is that game we played?

[00:05:38] Stardew Valley with the Walmart that's there and everyone hates it.

[00:05:42] Yeah.

[00:05:42] Jojo Mart.

[00:05:43] Jojo Mart.

[00:05:44] Jojo Mart.

[00:05:45] Oh yeah.

[00:05:47] Rachel is the Stardew expert.

[00:05:49] She showed me, she has like, you know, those crazy like videos of like Factorio where

[00:05:53] like all, there's a million intricate things working together.

[00:05:56] That's what Rachel's like farm on Stardew looks like.

[00:05:59] She has like 27 buildings.

[00:06:01] I don't even know how that's possible.

[00:06:02] And each one is full of treasure chests that have everything in it.

[00:06:06] It looks, it just looks modded.

[00:06:08] It's not modded because it was on the Xbox.

[00:06:12] That doesn't, that don't matter.

[00:06:13] That don't matter at all.

[00:06:14] I used to have modded guns on Borderlands 2 back in the day.

[00:06:18] I remember this.

[00:06:19] There's probably some duplication glitches you could do, especially online.

[00:06:21] You can duplicate the purple statue that you get from like the third year.

[00:06:29] Uh, and it gives you the prismatic shards.

[00:06:32] You can duplicate that a bunch of times, which I did do.

[00:06:35] That's just, you know, it's in the game.

[00:06:39] I, I remember this one modded pistol in Borderlands 2 that, so I had it and I would go into random people's games and drop it.

[00:06:46] And if you shot the gun, it would shoot like a million bullets at once and crash the game.

[00:06:52] Like, so I would always go into games and drop the gun and be like, pick that up, shoot it, and then ruin their, well, I mean, it doesn't ruin anything.

[00:07:00] You just had to restart, but.

[00:07:02] That's pretty good.

[00:07:03] Missed that shit.

[00:07:03] Yeah, but uh, some notes about Canada, uh, for our trolls.

[00:07:07] Uh, I didn't see a single Mountie.

[00:07:09] Nowhere to be seen.

[00:07:11] There was a sign that had a Mountie on it next to the Alaskan border going into Alaska that said like, thanks for visiting Canada.

[00:07:19] But that was it.

[00:07:20] It's kind of like how, like, you know, in like sports games, they have like the, the, the 3d model in the first row, like the first couple of rows in the crowd.

[00:07:28] Yeah.

[00:07:28] And then they're like billboards, cardboards.

[00:07:30] Yeah.

[00:07:31] It's like that.

[00:07:31] They're, they're, they're, they're lying about their Mounties.

[00:07:34] We should just take them over.

[00:07:35] I think, I think we could, I think we could take Canada over.

[00:07:38] That's my next.

[00:07:39] I'm pretty sure the Mounties are just a myth.

[00:07:42] They're like the tooth fairy.

[00:07:43] I'm in Ontario and I've never seen a Mountie in person, so I'm pretty sure they don't exist.

[00:07:48] And if they do, it's probably in a zoo or something.

[00:07:50] Like, I don't think it's a real thing.

[00:07:51] A zoo.

[00:07:52] They're with the Yetis.

[00:07:54] You know, just imagine you like the, a gorilla exhibit, but just, just a guy on a horse, just hanging out.

[00:08:01] Just not doing anything.

[00:08:01] Not a Yeti, it's just a hairy Mountie.

[00:08:03] We don't let them shave when they go above, above the 49th parallel.

[00:08:06] That's just how it works.

[00:08:07] There's something about the words hairy and Mountie right next to each other that I just really disliked.

[00:08:14] And I'm really upset.

[00:08:15] I kind of liked it.

[00:08:15] I was really into it.

[00:08:17] I went through like Alberta, Yukon.

[00:08:22] What's the other one? New British England or something.

[00:08:25] Yeah.

[00:08:27] Yeah.

[00:08:28] That's like, there's one that's named something like that.

[00:08:30] The Northwest Territories.

[00:08:32] Yeah.

[00:08:32] Yeah, whatever.

[00:08:33] Anyways, there's no police.

[00:08:35] They do not have like any armed police force that I could find.

[00:08:40] Like every once in a while there'd be like a rest of people.

[00:08:42] What were you?

[00:08:42] Were you like going around like mugging people, opening the costumes?

[00:08:45] No!

[00:08:45] It wasn't like things you were.

[00:08:47] You're like looking up at your wanted level and you're like, why is, is it broken?

[00:08:50] You're at a Walmart just staring directly into the cameras, just putting things in your pockets.

[00:08:56] No, I'm just saying like, you know, here in the States, we're used to seeing our boys in blue on every corner with their little radar gun scanning us.

[00:09:05] Yeah.

[00:09:05] Making sure we're complicit.

[00:09:07] If you walk by them in downtown, they'll pull their gun on you.

[00:09:10] Like, you know, to psych you out.

[00:09:11] Like it's, it's crazy.

[00:09:12] They scare us all the time.

[00:09:13] And so you get here and they're just not here.

[00:09:15] And, uh, you know, that's, that's kind of unsettling, you know, especially whenever I see some of the motels that we stayed near that were unsettling.

[00:09:25] They look like something from Island wake.

[00:09:27] Yeah.

[00:09:28] Or, um, let's see, what else was there?

[00:09:30] Oh, people are weirdly nice.

[00:09:31] Uh, there was a lot of gas stations where they're like, I'll just pump it and then take a photo with your phone and walk in and tell me how much you got.

[00:09:38] And I'd be like, okay.

[00:09:40] And then they wouldn't ask to see the photo or anything.

[00:09:41] Just be like, how much did you get?

[00:09:44] And I'm like, okay.

[00:09:47] When we visit Florida and we have, we, every single time we stopped to fill up in Florida, anywhere on the way down there.

[00:09:53] And we have to stop and realize, oh, right.

[00:09:56] People are assholes down here.

[00:09:57] We have to go inside and pay first and hope we get the right amount of money to put in the car.

[00:10:01] Cause the last thing we want to do is go back into the station and buy more gas to pump.

[00:10:05] Uh, it's so weird how you guys do it.

[00:10:07] Yeah.

[00:10:07] We're used to like pump and pay.

[00:10:09] I don't know if I've gotten just used to it or if like I prefer it or what, but like whenever I, cause you can pay it the pump with a card and then start pumping.

[00:10:18] But every time I do that, I accidentally fill the tank up and spend like 60 bucks.

[00:10:22] And I'm just like, if I don't prepay 50, I'm like, I need $15.

[00:10:26] Don't you let it go higher than that.

[00:10:28] I'm really short on rent this month.

[00:10:30] Okay.

[00:10:30] Like why would you not fill it up every time you're going to use your gas?

[00:10:34] Well, I mean, I get, I usually get 30 bucks and that's like 80% of my thing.

[00:10:39] So, I mean, I don't know.

[00:10:41] It just, I don't drive anywhere.

[00:10:42] I go, I drive one mile to work and one mile back and then around the block to take Rachel to work.

[00:10:49] That's it.

[00:10:49] I don't drive nowhere.

[00:10:50] All right.

[00:10:51] Other thing is like things are strangely cheap.

[00:10:53] I may have been bamboozled by the conversion rate, but it was like, some things were like weirdly expensive, but then I go and it'd be like a boba tea or something like that was like four bucks.

[00:11:04] And I'm like, how, what is happening here?

[00:11:06] Like how, how was this so cheap?

[00:11:08] Whereas like, if I bought this back in Texas, this would be like a $12 drink, but here in Canadian dollars, it was like weirdly cheap.

[00:11:15] Huh?

[00:11:16] That makes me and Rachel watch a lot of like Japanese food stands, you know, like the make ramen or like, you know, I don't, I don't know.

[00:11:24] Ramen and stuff.

[00:11:27] What?

[00:11:28] It sounded like you said, Mick ramen.

[00:11:30] Like McDonald's.

[00:11:32] I was thinking I went the other way.

[00:11:34] I went to the politician.

[00:11:35] Mitt Romney.

[00:11:37] Um, but yeah, so they make their Mick ramen and it's always like a dollar 50 for like a big bowl of ramen.

[00:11:43] And then it's like, they get this thing of like dried daiko or whatever.

[00:11:48] And, um, it's like 10 cents.

[00:11:50] And I'm like, they're fucking eating like Kings over there.

[00:11:52] Like on no money.

[00:11:54] Yeah. I don't know how they do it, but Canada, very nice, very beautiful in those territories area.

[00:12:00] Uh, I've seen, you know, there was like bears, there was Buffalo.

[00:12:04] Nate, like Buffalo from Oklahoma.

[00:12:05] Like I thought they were extinct.

[00:12:06] How'd they, how'd they get to Canada?

[00:12:08] Okay. I looked it up.

[00:12:09] Apparently their ecosystem has been completely devastated.

[00:12:13] In Oklahoma.

[00:12:15] So they can no longer exist there.

[00:12:17] Yeah.

[00:12:17] The great plains of America are no longer sustainable for the Buffalo.

[00:12:21] So they just live in the territories.

[00:12:24] So if you want to see wild, we have a whole bunch of statues of Buffalo.

[00:12:27] I know.

[00:12:27] It's like, we love our Buffalo around, you know, Texas, Oklahoma range or whatever.

[00:12:31] There's always statues.

[00:12:32] There's like Indians riding on the Buffalo shooting bows and arrows.

[00:12:35] It's rad as hell, but, uh, there's no actual Buffalo.

[00:12:40] Anyways.

[00:12:40] Yeah.

[00:12:40] Canada.

[00:12:41] Real cool.

[00:12:42] Alaska.

[00:12:43] Also real cool.

[00:12:44] Very cold.

[00:12:44] It's like 20 degrees.

[00:12:46] It sucks.

[00:12:46] It's funny.

[00:12:47] Cause like you live, you just lived through like this extreme heat wave in Texas.

[00:12:51] And as soon as you leave, it's like 70 degrees.

[00:12:53] It's like fucking nice outside.

[00:12:55] Like I have my windows open every day.

[00:12:57] It's amazing.

[00:12:58] Hmm.

[00:12:58] That's Fahrenheit, right?

[00:12:59] 20 Fahrenheit.

[00:13:00] Oh no.

[00:13:01] Well, yeah.

[00:13:01] Sorry.

[00:13:02] Canadian here.

[00:13:02] Sorry.

[00:13:02] Oh, that was the other thing is like all the thermostats are like on Celsius and I'm

[00:13:06] like, Oh my God, it's 32 degrees or something.

[00:13:10] I don't even know.

[00:13:11] Whatever.

[00:13:12] That's negative six Celsius.

[00:13:13] That's okay.

[00:13:14] That's, that's good Canadian weather.

[00:13:15] You're, you're fine.

[00:13:16] That's t-shirt weather.

[00:13:17] You're going to be like, how long?

[00:13:19] Hopefully are you in Alaska longterm?

[00:13:21] Yeah.

[00:13:21] About three years.

[00:13:22] After six months, you're going to be like, this is nothing.

[00:13:24] You're going to, you're going to love the crisp winter mornings.

[00:13:27] I'm sure I'll be fine.

[00:13:28] Um, I already love it.

[00:13:29] Don't go out at night.

[00:13:29] Yeah.

[00:13:30] Yeah.

[00:13:31] I've seen like moose and black bear too.

[00:13:33] Like there's all these critters running around.

[00:13:35] I saw what I thought this is, this was over in, um, on the Alaska highway coming out of

[00:13:40] Canada, what I thought was a Wolverine, this big round, brown dude walking around.

[00:13:46] That was not a bear.

[00:13:49] Five foot tall.

[00:13:50] Hugh Jackman running across the street on all the floors.

[00:13:55] Five, three Hugh Jackman.

[00:13:59] All right.

[00:14:00] But we are a video games podcast and we're going to be talking about Blacho.

[00:14:04] But before we get there, let's check in with what games we've been playing.

[00:14:06] Nave.

[00:14:07] I keep seeing you playing this dang Japanese game.

[00:14:10] Yeah.

[00:14:10] Still.

[00:14:12] Metaphor is insane.

[00:14:14] It's insane.

[00:14:14] How good it is.

[00:14:15] It's good.

[00:14:15] It's, it's a tearjerker.

[00:14:17] Like there's, there's some real serious things going on.

[00:14:20] This is the wokest game I've ever played in my life, by the way.

[00:14:23] It is more than a dust storm or whatever.

[00:14:25] Dust war.

[00:14:26] No, but this is, it is like, it's all about racism.

[00:14:30] It's fucking really cool.

[00:14:32] I, you know, I've been waving that flag.

[00:14:33] I'm like, it's okay.

[00:14:34] That games have racism in them, especially if you can like use it as an awesome narrative

[00:14:39] driver.

[00:14:40] And they, I mean, I, I, there's some things that are very like, because you're, you're like

[00:14:44] a, like a low down race.

[00:14:46] I can't remember what your main characters races, but like, like, cause they're all like

[00:14:50] made up.

[00:14:51] It's not like, Oh, you're an elf.

[00:14:52] There is elves, but like their name, something else.

[00:14:54] You know what I mean?

[00:14:55] Like everything's got their own like different names.

[00:14:57] There, there are these people who have like, their pupils are like really, really big,

[00:15:01] like almost all of their eye that are really kind of cool.

[00:15:04] Um, like there are these characters with horns.

[00:15:07] Like it's really, it's really interesting seeing the Atlas art style interpretation of all

[00:15:10] these different like kind of archetypes and their story.

[00:15:14] Storytelling is still top notch.

[00:15:16] So I, I'm going to be stuck on metaphor for a very long time.

[00:15:19] I'm trying to like diversify and like every now and then I pick up the switch and I, cause

[00:15:23] Rachel's playing some Bellatio.

[00:15:25] So I picked up the switch and played some more Mario sparking rabbits or whatever,

[00:15:28] and it's fine.

[00:15:29] But like this game's just on my mind constantly.

[00:15:33] And I haven't had a game like that since Yakuza infinite wealth, which is another Sega

[00:15:38] JRPG.

[00:15:38] So I'm just like, I'm like the biggest Sega fan boy at this point.

[00:15:42] Hmm.

[00:15:43] I had heard that in that game monsters are, are actually called humans.

[00:15:46] Is that, is that true?

[00:15:47] There, well, there are normal monsters, but yeah.

[00:15:49] So like the primary creatures that are like, it's, they're basically like Titans in attack

[00:15:54] on Titan, but yeah, they call them humans.

[00:15:56] It's really interesting.

[00:15:57] Cause the first time I heard it, I was like, I was like, wait a human.

[00:16:01] What?

[00:16:01] So I, I thought there was like some weird, like either a translation error or I'm stupid

[00:16:05] and I like spaced out for a minute and now I don't know what they're talking about, but

[00:16:08] yeah.

[00:16:08] So, uh, there are, the humans are these giant, like really crazy.

[00:16:12] They look like paintings, like, uh, like on the top of the 16th chapel or whatever it's

[00:16:17] called.

[00:16:17] 16th chapel.

[00:16:19] I don't know.

[00:16:21] Yeah.

[00:16:21] That's really, really cool.

[00:16:23] The art style is amazing.

[00:16:24] I was earlier.

[00:16:25] I was just, uh, I had a couple of beers last night and I was just sitting there staring

[00:16:29] at the sky box because it's like painted swirly.

[00:16:32] It's like everything about this game is just so gorgeous.

[00:16:35] The menus are gorgeous.

[00:16:36] Like when you, I went into the stats screen cause I was like, how much experience do I

[00:16:39] need to level up?

[00:16:40] And then I just flipped through it and just stared at it for a long time because there's

[00:16:43] this like awesome, like Leonardo, the, what is it?

[00:16:46] The turtle man, the, what is the man?

[00:16:49] Vitruvian man.

[00:16:50] Yeah.

[00:16:51] Vitruvian man, uh, uh, like a Vitruvian, they stand in like this Vitruvian man like

[00:16:56] manner.

[00:16:56] And then they got the side profile, like that's really close up and it's like, this is so

[00:17:01] stylish.

[00:17:01] Like they didn't have to go this hard on every facet of this game to make it just like the

[00:17:06] most stylish thing that's ever existed.

[00:17:07] But it's, it's so good.

[00:17:10] Gosh, I still think it's so ugly.

[00:17:12] Yeah.

[00:17:12] Rachel thinks it's ugly.

[00:17:15] I just can't get behind it.

[00:17:17] Well, he was like showing me the sky and I just.

[00:17:21] I just want it in the gag.

[00:17:22] I don't know.

[00:17:23] It looked like a swirling puke.

[00:17:27] She only likes Fortnite.

[00:17:28] Definitely.

[00:17:29] I don't know.

[00:17:30] Like what was it?

[00:17:30] Persona 3, the remake or whatever.

[00:17:33] It's like the 2d visuals are great.

[00:17:35] And I, the actual in game where you're like seeing the characters move around with their

[00:17:41] little 3d models is not the best, but that is, you know, portable remake.

[00:17:46] Yeah.

[00:17:47] I love the 2d assets in the game.

[00:17:49] Like the menus, like you said.

[00:17:50] Yeah.

[00:17:51] I mean, I, I encourage people to just go look up some gameplay, just like watch someone's

[00:17:54] like stream this game for a little bit.

[00:17:56] It's, it's really interesting.

[00:17:58] I also like one thing I take for granted is like in, it's a JRPG.

[00:18:02] So it's like you go, it's your turn.

[00:18:04] You choose fight magic item or whatever, but everything's, everything's on a key bound

[00:18:09] to a different button.

[00:18:10] So instead of moving, navigating a menu, you're like, I want to attack.

[00:18:13] So that's X.

[00:18:14] Or it's like, I want to use my map, my, my team up move.

[00:18:17] So that's the a button, you know, guard is B.

[00:18:19] If you want to use an item, that's the start button.

[00:18:22] It's like all of those things.

[00:18:24] It really expedites the gameplay because like, I already know what I want to do.

[00:18:29] So the game just makes it super accessible, like as fast as possible to do what I want

[00:18:34] to do.

[00:18:35] Let's check that one out.

[00:18:36] This style is definitely there.

[00:18:38] It's one I've been watching.

[00:18:40] I do like JRPGs.

[00:18:41] I just don't have the time to invest in those.

[00:18:43] And I heard that game was like 80, 80 hours plus.

[00:18:45] So, but I'm tempted because the style alone looks really freaking awesome.

[00:18:50] Yeah.

[00:18:50] I can feel the game being it's I'm on like the second dungeon and I'm like, oh my God,

[00:18:57] I'm like 15 hours in and I just started like, I'm at the beginning of the, of the story.

[00:19:01] I can still, I'm like, oh, I can, I can feel it.

[00:19:04] Like how much more is ahead of me, but I'm really enjoying it at least.

[00:19:09] So that's good.

[00:19:10] Uh, have you picked a romance partner yet?

[00:19:14] Uh, no, so far there's only three characters so far, like in the, as far as like the party

[00:19:20] is concerned.

[00:19:21] And I don't know if there's any romance because I saw online people were complaining that the,

[00:19:25] the elf, the first, like, or she's like the second party member that you get.

[00:19:31] She's like an elf night kind of person and you can't romance her.

[00:19:34] So people were up in arms about that because, uh, Atlas people love their romance.

[00:19:39] I'll give them that they really do, but I don't care.

[00:19:42] I don't, I don't know if there's any romance at all in this game so far.

[00:19:46] I don't, I think your character is like a kid.

[00:19:48] I can't tell he's like a lot smaller than everyone else.

[00:19:51] And he has like a higher pitched voice.

[00:19:53] So, uh, and like the game is very similar to persona, which is a high school game.

[00:19:58] Like those games all take place in high school.

[00:19:59] So, I mean, I don't know.

[00:20:00] I don't know what's going on just yet.

[00:20:01] You know, the only games that are racist that, you know, I enjoy the ones with romance,

[00:20:05] like mass effect.

[00:20:07] Yeah.

[00:20:08] I mean, Ashley, you know, who can say no?

[00:20:10] Boo, Ashley.

[00:20:11] Boo.

[00:20:14] All right.

[00:20:14] You got any more games or moving on?

[00:20:16] No, just that.

[00:20:18] All right.

[00:20:18] So, uh, I have been playing like kind of like two titles really while I've been traveling

[00:20:23] besides Blatro.

[00:20:25] And, uh, the first one, uh, just get out of the way.

[00:20:27] Zelda Oracle of Ages on my little Game Boy emulator I've been traveling with.

[00:20:32] Actually, really.

[00:20:32] I didn't own any of like the Game Boy Zeldas before.

[00:20:35] And so I'm thought like, how can this translate and actually be like, you know, a Zelda game?

[00:20:41] But it's really good.

[00:20:44] Like for them to put this all in my Game Boy Color, it seems insane.

[00:20:49] Like, have you guys tried either like the Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons?

[00:20:53] I believe is the, the other one.

[00:20:56] Yeah.

[00:20:57] I just tried Seasons recently.

[00:20:59] I did another playthrough of Link's Awakening.

[00:21:01] Link's Awakening is one of my favorite Zelda games, period.

[00:21:04] It's a top three for sure.

[00:21:05] And that looked amazing on the original Game Boy.

[00:21:07] And seeing what, I think it was Capcom who did Seasons and Ages and seeing what they did

[00:21:11] improving on that style is just, it's pretty spectacular.

[00:21:14] And the dungeon layouts are very creative, very innovative.

[00:21:18] It's, it's a solid playthrough of both of them.

[00:21:20] They're slightly different though.

[00:21:21] One is puzzly and the other one's more arcadey, but they're both fantastic games played back to back.

[00:21:26] I, uh, I was a kid when I played it.

[00:21:28] And I played it right after I beat the Minish Cap.

[00:21:31] And I was like, man, Zelda's cool.

[00:21:33] I think I like this.

[00:21:34] And I played this and I was like, this is old.

[00:21:35] I don't like old.

[00:21:37] And so I, I, I beat it, but I, I didn't, I don't remember really much.

[00:21:41] I just remember like, isn't that the game that has a chomp chomp in it?

[00:21:45] Like from Mario?

[00:21:46] Link's Awakening does.

[00:21:47] Link's Awakening is that?

[00:21:48] Okay.

[00:21:49] Well, I don't remember.

[00:21:50] Oh, this is the, like the Game Boy Color one.

[00:21:52] Yeah.

[00:21:52] The Game Boy Color.

[00:21:53] These were the ones before Minish Cap, but after, you know.

[00:21:56] The purple and the red one.

[00:21:57] They did the Pokemon thing.

[00:21:59] They did.

[00:21:59] And apparently there was supposed to be a third one, I think, but it never happened.

[00:22:03] Uh, so you just have the two.

[00:22:05] And you can like do like a stop and swap to unlock another dungeon.

[00:22:10] I don't know if you remember from like Banjo-Kazooie.

[00:22:12] Banjo-Kazooie, yeah.

[00:22:13] Because, uh, yeah.

[00:22:16] If you're unaware, dear listener, there was a built-in feature of Banjo-Kazooie where the

[00:22:20] whole purpose was to take the cartridge of Banjo-Kazooie out of the Nintendo 64, slot

[00:22:26] in a different cartridge to unlock content back into Banjo-Kazooie.

[00:22:33] Like you're doing like a, I don't know, like some kind of code injection that way.

[00:22:39] Like it's, it was over-engineered, I think.

[00:22:42] I don't think that was worth it when you could have just made a password or something.

[00:22:46] You had to take it out and put the other game in before the game like crashed.

[00:22:51] Like you had to do it rapidly.

[00:22:53] Before you void your warranty.

[00:22:56] Rip this card out and slot in the new one really fast.

[00:22:59] Donkey Kong 64 also had that.

[00:23:01] Did it?

[00:23:01] Oh, it's another rare title.

[00:23:02] Yeah, that makes sense.

[00:23:04] Yeah.

[00:23:04] Okay.

[00:23:05] I was only aware of that, which I didn't even think there was like a function for it.

[00:23:09] Like, was there any actual content?

[00:23:12] I don't remember.

[00:23:13] There are YouTube videos because like the thing is like you could see it on like the other

[00:23:17] side of like this window and you're like, you could see what's over there, but you can't

[00:23:21] get to it.

[00:23:22] And so people like modded their way in there or like glitched through the wall or something.

[00:23:26] And I don't remember what was actually there.

[00:23:29] But Game Boy Zeldas are good.

[00:23:31] The other one, even better.

[00:23:33] Another Japanese game.

[00:23:35] Katamari Damacy Reroll Royale.

[00:23:38] Whatever it is.

[00:23:39] Reverie.

[00:23:41] This is a remake of the PlayStation 2 sequel, I think, which I think it initially just went

[00:23:47] to like Switch, but now it's on Game Pass.

[00:23:52] And Jake, are you familiar with Katamari?

[00:23:54] Because I know, you know, Nave knows a little bit of it.

[00:23:58] I want to spend more time with it, but I just never knew which which of them to pick up because

[00:24:03] I'm always confused.

[00:24:04] Like a lot of Japanese game and those naming conventions.

[00:24:06] What one do I start with?

[00:24:07] Which is the entry level of Katamari?

[00:24:10] Is the original one in PS or do I start with the later one or the remaster?

[00:24:15] See, I don't know.

[00:24:16] It's weirdly interesting.

[00:24:17] There's like Katamari Damacy.

[00:24:18] Then there's like I love Katamari.

[00:24:21] Then there's, which was the portable one that got ported to PlayStation 2 or something like

[00:24:26] that.

[00:24:27] And then there's Katamari Damacy Reroll, which is the true sequel, I think.

[00:24:34] Gary, this game, we're getting too far into the weeds.

[00:24:36] This game is about rolling things up.

[00:24:38] Do you have to play them in order?

[00:24:38] No.

[00:24:39] Can't you just like play Katamari?

[00:24:42] Well, actually, the story of Reroll is the deep lore of the prince.

[00:24:46] We love Katamari is not nearly as funny if you haven't played a Katamari game before because

[00:24:51] the entire joke is that the world loved Katamari so much that they needed a sequel and every

[00:24:57] mission is somebody who loved the first game.

[00:25:00] Yeah.

[00:25:00] So that's what spurs the whole narrative on.

[00:25:04] So if you didn't play the first one, then it's like it's probably not funny ever.

[00:25:09] Also, the second one, a lot of the levels are like mutations of the previous games levels.

[00:25:16] Kind of.

[00:25:17] Yeah.

[00:25:18] But anyways, I picked this up as soon as I got here.

[00:25:20] We unpacked.

[00:25:21] We brought like a smaller TV and my Xbox or whatever just in a U-Haul that we drove all

[00:25:25] the way up here.

[00:25:26] And I'm like, oh, you know, they added a bunch of stuff to Game Pass.

[00:25:29] They added the Mana game remake or whatever.

[00:25:32] But then I saw they added Katamari and I'm like, oh, I'll just boot that up.

[00:25:36] And that I did that like a week ago.

[00:25:38] I put like 18 hours into this game at this point.

[00:25:41] So good.

[00:25:42] It is so good.

[00:25:44] Like, dear listeners at home, this game is not for everyone.

[00:25:47] That's the sad part, though, because I want to be like, oh, everyone go play this game.

[00:25:51] It's an arcade, collect-a-thon, feeding frenzy, 3D, I don't know, exploration type game while

[00:26:03] it's speed running.

[00:26:04] It's a whole bunch of things that most people will not like, along with controls that are

[00:26:11] not intuitive at first.

[00:26:13] Yeah.

[00:26:14] Yeah.

[00:26:14] The controls.

[00:26:15] Not at all.

[00:26:16] But they're necessary.

[00:26:17] Yeah.

[00:26:18] The controls are necessary.

[00:26:19] Like, have you ever driven like a zero degree turn lawnmower?

[00:26:23] Yeah.

[00:26:25] That is what it feels like to play Katamari.

[00:26:29] Yeah.

[00:26:29] Except imagine if while you were driving it, you could take the each lever of the lawnmower

[00:26:34] and just go to make your lawnmower go faster.

[00:26:39] It just like smash the levers back and forth.

[00:26:42] So stupid.

[00:26:43] Or when you get caught by a fishing pole, break out of it.

[00:26:46] Never get pulled.

[00:26:46] All right.

[00:26:47] But the whole premise is you're in the world rolling up things on a Katamari, which Katamari

[00:26:52] in Japanese just means like a lump or like a cluster of junk.

[00:26:58] You just make a junk cluster that then gets turned into space stuff such as stars, satellites,

[00:27:03] moons, planets, nebula, if it gets big enough.

[00:27:08] Only this one is it.

[00:27:10] It covers the whole backstory for the king of the cosmos, which is your dad, because you

[00:27:14] play as the prince of the cosmos, which is this tiny little baby man.

[00:27:18] And the king of the cosmos is this giant man.

[00:27:22] The manliest man.

[00:27:24] Their heads look like hammers, I guess, like those silly Japanese like bonk bonk people in

[00:27:28] the head and game show hammer type things.

[00:27:30] I don't know why.

[00:27:32] The game is stupid.

[00:27:34] Every line is just a joke or meant to be played silly.

[00:27:38] There's nothing serious, but serious.

[00:27:39] But the story of the king of the cosmos, how he became king is so dramatic because as

[00:27:46] you're playing the game, every time you unlock a new level, you get like a little cut scenes.

[00:27:50] They call it a storyboard cut scene because there's it's just like moving pictures or whatever.

[00:27:56] But you uncover like the origin of the king, which spoiler alert, it's just his dad passed

[00:28:03] the crown down to him.

[00:28:06] Like it's not even like anything super dramatic, even though they played such high drama all

[00:28:10] the time.

[00:28:11] Anyways, I beat it.

[00:28:13] I rolled credits.

[00:28:13] I'm currently going back trying to 100 percent game and get all the achievements.

[00:28:18] I think I have like three achievements left and it's like get all the cousins, which

[00:28:22] are like Lilo and Stitch.

[00:28:25] Yeah, there's all the cousins.

[00:28:27] You got to go catch them all.

[00:28:29] They're just spread around the levels.

[00:28:30] Which one is your favorite?

[00:28:31] Because you can play as them when you capture them.

[00:28:33] There's this one with a really long neck.

[00:28:36] I don't know if you've seen the long neck.

[00:28:39] There's a tennis ball, one that looks like a tennis ball.

[00:28:41] I like him.

[00:28:42] Jana liked the mushroom, which I thought was kind of boring.

[00:28:45] There's another one that's Dot and it's the only one that has like an animated texture

[00:28:49] where she's like a disco ball.

[00:28:52] Anyways, the cousins are silly.

[00:28:54] But yeah, so I'm going back in all the cousins.

[00:28:56] The problem is, is this game requires you to pick up a cousin.

[00:29:00] You can only finish, get one cousin a level and then you have to finish the level.

[00:29:04] But there's some levels that are 20 minutes long.

[00:29:06] So it's like you have to get the cousin.

[00:29:09] There's four of them in there.

[00:29:10] So I've done this four times at this point where I get the cousin.

[00:29:13] Then I have to beat the level.

[00:29:15] But it's like, hey, the level has 20 minute timer.

[00:29:19] You beat it in 13 minutes or something like that.

[00:29:23] Seven minutes, just keep going.

[00:29:26] Get as big as you can.

[00:29:26] And I'm like, I don't want to.

[00:29:28] I just want it to end.

[00:29:30] But you can't.

[00:29:31] There's no give up button.

[00:29:32] You just have to wait out the seven minutes.

[00:29:33] So I guess I'm going to go clean my kitchen while I wait for this game to finish.

[00:29:38] But fantastic game.

[00:29:39] I added it on my tier list.

[00:29:41] I put it S tier above Ni No Kuni 2 and Neon White.

[00:29:45] But it is not better than Resident Evil 2 Remake.

[00:29:48] Sorry.

[00:29:49] Yeah, that makes sense.

[00:29:51] That checks out, actually.

[00:29:52] Yeah.

[00:29:53] I don't know where I put it.

[00:29:54] Because I have an A.

[00:29:56] Right in the fucking direct middle.

[00:29:57] Yeah, because you quote, I didn't want to be a troll to put Katamari in S tier.

[00:30:02] And I'm like, it's not a good game.

[00:30:03] It's so good.

[00:30:05] Do you see it is up there with Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption.

[00:30:11] Oh, yeah.

[00:30:11] You were like, I didn't want to put it above Red Dead Redemption or something like that.

[00:30:15] Okay, so do you see this guy?

[00:30:17] I put it right there in Phillips games.

[00:30:19] Oh, yeah.

[00:30:19] What's his name?

[00:30:20] His name is Beyond.

[00:30:26] Great cousin.

[00:30:27] He is a banana that's pink.

[00:30:29] He's a pink banana.

[00:30:31] Dude, seeing this guy pushing the Katamari.

[00:30:34] And he's basically looking back at the camera.

[00:30:38] He's curbed so bad.

[00:30:39] He's basically got scoliosis.

[00:30:41] It's fucking awesome.

[00:30:43] All right.

[00:30:43] But that's what I've been playing.

[00:30:44] Great games.

[00:30:45] Jake, what about you?

[00:30:46] What have you been playing?

[00:30:48] Okay, so real quick on.

[00:30:50] I have two.

[00:30:51] The first one is you guys ever have that feeling that you need to get on a treadmill.

[00:30:56] But you don't actually just want to get out of your chair and do some exercise.

[00:30:59] But you still want that feeling of doing something on a treadmill.

[00:31:01] So you just spin up Diablo 4 and play that for 50 hours this past week.

[00:31:05] It had the new expansion that came out.

[00:31:07] I haven't even touched the expansion content outside of the new class.

[00:31:11] But since I played it at launch and I hated it.

[00:31:14] This is one of my regret buys.

[00:31:16] So, of course, when the expansion comes out, I have to go buy the damn expansion because I don't know joy in my life.

[00:31:21] So I pick up the expansion and not realizing how much they've updated the game since release.

[00:31:26] They redid, and I mean redone from scratch, the entire itemization.

[00:31:30] So if you're familiar with Diablo in the past, items are randomly generated and have apexes and prefixes that do different things.

[00:31:37] You know, stats and abilities and all that cool stuff.

[00:31:40] At launch, they felt really bland and confusing.

[00:31:43] Scrapped, completely redone.

[00:31:44] Everything is a lot more seamless.

[00:31:46] The thousands of numbers on the screen, they did a level crunch kind of like WoW did a number of years ago.

[00:31:51] So it's a lot more simplistic in the beginning.

[00:31:54] Leveling is a lot smoother, a lot faster.

[00:31:57] Everything I had issues with in the game, for the most part, have been fixed over the last year.

[00:32:02] So playing Diablo 4 has been fantastic.

[00:32:05] The story is still, it's okay.

[00:32:07] I mean, it's a little bit bland.

[00:32:09] It's not up there with Diablo 2 or even Diablo 3 in terms of story.

[00:32:13] But the gameplay is the best it's been in Diablo in years.

[00:32:17] Like, I haven't had this much fun in a Diablo game since D2.

[00:32:20] And I mean, I played D2 straight out of high school, and I loved the hell out of that.

[00:32:23] And that's what this feels like.

[00:32:25] It's really well done.

[00:32:26] Can't wait to do the expansion content.

[00:32:28] I just finished the original campaign again last night.

[00:32:30] I was up to 2 in the morning, which I'm going to pay for.

[00:32:33] Staying up late tonight as well.

[00:32:35] But it was worth it.

[00:32:36] It was a blast.

[00:32:36] I'm playing the new Spearborn class, which is Spears, Aztec kind of themed, I guess.

[00:32:43] It feels broken as all hell, but broken in a fun way.

[00:32:46] Just dodging.

[00:32:47] I'm shooting lightning bolts out of my ass, and it just feels so broken when I wipe the screen with just a dodge.

[00:32:54] Which I'm sure is going to be patched in a few weeks.

[00:32:56] But for now, it's a solid game.

[00:32:59] I don't know.

[00:32:59] Have you guys even played Diablo 4?

[00:33:00] I feel like a lot of people have been skipping on this game.

[00:33:04] I really feel like I should try to play it again, because I also got it whenever it came out.

[00:33:10] And I don't know what it is, but Diablo 4 is drinking a warm glass of milk.

[00:33:15] It just makes me so sleepy.

[00:33:18] Yeah.

[00:33:18] I can't look at it without just needing to close my eyes.

[00:33:23] Dude, that was the fucking Visions of Mana for me.

[00:33:27] I would play like 30 minutes, and I'm like, I have to go to bed.

[00:33:30] I don't know what's going on.

[00:33:32] But yeah, so we had two episodes on it.

[00:33:35] The second episode we did was right when the season was wrapping up, the last season.

[00:33:40] So it was pretty recent.

[00:33:41] But I was trying to get people to play something else.

[00:33:44] I couldn't remember what it was.

[00:33:45] But I couldn't.

[00:33:45] And everyone.

[00:33:46] So it was like fucking Aaron and Jono and all my friends were playing Diablo for some reason.

[00:33:51] I'm like, well, I guess.

[00:33:52] Hey, guys, you want to talk about Diablo again, I guess?

[00:33:55] We love Diablo.

[00:33:58] So that's what we did.

[00:33:59] But it was definitely eye-opening.

[00:34:01] I never beat the campaign the first time through.

[00:34:03] So I beat it for that second episode.

[00:34:05] And those cut scenes are gorgeous.

[00:34:08] I keep forgetting about how good Blizzard is.

[00:34:12] It's not even just how the graphical fidelity, which is obviously off the charts.

[00:34:16] But the choreographing of everyone.

[00:34:20] And also the framing and how everything is positioned.

[00:34:25] It's so good.

[00:34:26] There's one cut scene where, what is her name?

[00:34:29] I almost called her Diablo.

[00:34:31] Diablo is walking along past some bookshelves.

[00:34:35] And she's walking through them.

[00:34:36] And it's like everything about it just looks so good.

[00:34:39] Like, it feels so good to watch.

[00:34:41] They just need to make movies, I think.

[00:34:43] Like, if Blizzard can just make some movies, please.

[00:34:47] More cinematics like that.

[00:34:48] Like, the ones you described are really cool.

[00:34:50] There's a whole ending sequence where they're in hell.

[00:34:52] Because Diablo, of course, they go to hell.

[00:34:54] But it's great.

[00:34:55] But a lot of the cut scenes are just still that top-down view of people just talking with text bubbles.

[00:35:00] And I hate those.

[00:35:01] The Runescape cut scenes.

[00:35:03] Because they have the graphic models right there.

[00:35:05] They just need to tilt the camera a little bit.

[00:35:08] And I think it would be a lot better.

[00:35:09] But when they do show off the proper cut scenes, yeah, they're absolutely great.

[00:35:13] They're Blizzard quality.

[00:35:14] And just in between, it was kind of bland.

[00:35:16] But maybe the expansion is better.

[00:35:18] I don't know.

[00:35:19] But definitely a lot of my free time has been Diablo 4.

[00:35:23] Second game, real quick.

[00:35:24] Aaron's not here.

[00:35:25] So I feel like it's my duty on behalf of him, in his memory, to talk about UFO 50.

[00:35:31] Which, if you have not been playing UFO 50, god damn, it's 20 bucks.

[00:35:35] Go buy it.

[00:35:35] Because it's not just one game.

[00:35:36] It's 50 games.

[00:35:37] 50 games for 20 bucks?

[00:35:39] It's a steal.

[00:35:40] It's crazy.

[00:35:44] If you're like me, you were a kid, and you had that one friend, or maybe you got an import

[00:35:48] of that weird-looking cartridge with a ribbon, and it had 52 games on it, and 51 of them

[00:35:53] are really fucking awful.

[00:35:54] It's like that.

[00:35:55] But they're actually really good.

[00:35:56] They're actually 50 good games in one package.

[00:35:59] I thought you were going to bring up those when you go to Dollar Tree, and there's a CD,

[00:36:03] like a PC CD, for 1001 games.

[00:36:07] And it's like, almost all of them are the same.

[00:36:09] There's like five of each game.

[00:36:12] It's like Super Mario 5.

[00:36:13] And you're like, what?

[00:36:14] And it's like, oh, this is just a ROM hack of Adventure Island.

[00:36:17] That's not the same thing.

[00:36:18] Now, UFO 50 is a couple indie developers got together for, I guess they got the spirit

[00:36:23] of the game jams they used to do, and they want to come together and make a bunch of mini

[00:36:27] games or a collection of indie games.

[00:36:29] But what they, eight years later, have made, some of these games, yeah, are like Nintendo-like

[00:36:34] experiences of maybe 30 minutes, 45 minutes.

[00:36:37] But then there's some games like Grimstone on this compilation.

[00:36:40] That's a full-on JRPG.

[00:36:43] And he has graphical style, but it's a JRPG.

[00:36:45] It's at least 20 hours long.

[00:36:46] And it's a good one.

[00:36:48] Like we're talking, I'm a guy who likes JRPGs, but I don't play them anymore because of time

[00:36:52] issues, right?

[00:36:53] I have three kids.

[00:36:54] But this one I've been playing because it's actually really great.

[00:36:57] The combat's really active.

[00:36:58] So there's like a puzzle game.

[00:37:00] There's Warp Tank.

[00:37:01] It reminds me of Blaster Master, both puzzles.

[00:37:04] There's like a deck builder game, Party House.

[00:37:07] It's so many games in this compilation.

[00:37:08] They actually had a few sequels to games in this made-up compilation.

[00:37:13] They kind of made this fake lore of an old video game system, and this is the remaster.

[00:37:17] So they have one series, the Campanella games.

[00:37:19] There's Campanella 1, but then you can play the sequel, Campanella 2.

[00:37:23] Meanwhile, they all came out in this compilation.

[00:37:25] It's like a joke, right?

[00:37:26] Yeah.

[00:37:26] But then there's Campanella 3, where they went 3D for some goddamn reason.

[00:37:29] It sucks.

[00:37:29] Like it's funny.

[00:37:31] It's really, really done.

[00:37:32] All the games have secrets.

[00:37:34] All the games have getting a cherry, basically a Chivo to beat it in a certain way.

[00:37:39] Those have been really fun.

[00:37:40] I've got at least 50 hours into UFO 50 for 20 bucks.

[00:37:44] Like if it was 40, I'd be like, maybe I'll hold off.

[00:37:47] But for $20, it was such amount of value from this game.

[00:37:51] Like just some of the games on a warp tank is like that puzzle game.

[00:37:56] That alone, I think I spent 12 hours in.

[00:37:58] I would love that to be a standalone release for 30 bucks.

[00:38:01] Just give me that more.

[00:38:03] Like 27 stages was great.

[00:38:05] Give me 100 of those stages.

[00:38:06] That would pay for it.

[00:38:07] So I really like to see what they do with it next.

[00:38:10] Yeah.

[00:38:10] It's an awesome game.

[00:38:11] If you have not played it, you got to buy UFO 50.

[00:38:12] It is so worth it.

[00:38:14] It's like indie game of the year for me, hands down.

[00:38:17] It's a funny thing in the Yakuza community where we will buy a compilation of the Yakuza

[00:38:23] mini games.

[00:38:23] And that's it.

[00:38:24] There's no...

[00:38:25] Yeah.

[00:38:25] Just Dragon Cart.

[00:38:26] The...

[00:38:28] What is it called?

[00:38:30] Cabaret Club mini game and the...

[00:38:32] I love that one.

[00:38:33] That's great.

[00:38:34] God, it's so good.

[00:38:35] I would pull...

[00:38:35] Or the Ichiban...

[00:38:37] Ichiban...

[00:38:38] What is it?

[00:38:39] Nourishments?

[00:38:39] Cookies?

[00:38:39] Confections?

[00:38:40] Ichiban Confections?

[00:38:42] Oh my god!

[00:38:42] I would fucking play a 20 hour long version of just that.

[00:38:46] Yeah.

[00:38:46] I basically did.

[00:38:48] So, I mean...

[00:38:49] It's so good.

[00:38:50] I don't know if you guys do like the Steam recommendation.

[00:38:53] I forgot what they call it.

[00:38:54] Discovery Q or whatever.

[00:38:56] Where it's like, hey, check out these games.

[00:38:58] I remember that one popped up and I'm like, what is this?

[00:39:01] And I'm like, oh yeah, I'm definitely heading into my list.

[00:39:03] And it was like after that.

[00:39:04] I feel like I saw this game everywhere.

[00:39:07] It's like every YouTuber, every person's talking about UFO 50.

[00:39:11] And I'm like, this is the next Bellatro.

[00:39:14] Because Bellatro is the same way.

[00:39:17] Yeah.

[00:39:18] All right.

[00:39:19] With that, Rachel, do you have any games?

[00:39:20] What did you want to share?

[00:39:21] I just, you know, started playing Arena again.

[00:39:25] Because I don't play enough Magic.

[00:39:28] So I'm going to play it on the computer too.

[00:39:31] Yeah.

[00:39:33] It's awful.

[00:39:34] And people should not wait for their timer to just run out all the time.

[00:39:38] Yeah.

[00:39:38] Because they're mad.

[00:39:40] I'm glad to see that that's still the move.

[00:39:43] God, it's so fresh.

[00:39:44] What?

[00:39:45] So they don't rage quit?

[00:39:46] They just run out the timer?

[00:39:47] The clock?

[00:39:48] They just make you sit there.

[00:39:50] Yeah.

[00:39:51] What assholes.

[00:39:52] They just make you sit there and stare at the screen for like five minutes straight,

[00:39:58] hoping that you concede.

[00:40:00] Because they're losing.

[00:40:01] There's no rule against it.

[00:40:03] Yeah.

[00:40:04] There's no rule against it.

[00:40:04] So it's the optimal strategy.

[00:40:06] And just like playing white control and taking away everything they've ever loved.

[00:40:10] And they're just like, I'm going to make you sit here for 45 minutes in this one game.

[00:40:17] God.

[00:40:18] Yeah.

[00:40:18] It's terrible.

[00:40:19] Online card games.

[00:40:21] And there's so many moments of interaction too.

[00:40:23] So if they have a deck that can interact on your opponent's turn, every time you do something,

[00:40:28] it's like, do you want to?

[00:40:30] What's going on?

[00:40:31] Every time.

[00:40:32] It's like, hey.

[00:40:32] You're going to let this resolve.

[00:40:33] You're going to go to combat.

[00:40:36] Go to blockers.

[00:40:38] Damage.

[00:40:39] Post-combat.

[00:40:40] You got anything to do.

[00:40:42] Second main.

[00:40:44] You cast a spell.

[00:40:46] You got more time to wait.

[00:40:48] Man, it's great.

[00:40:51] That's literally the reason why I stopped.

[00:40:52] Like that's insane.

[00:40:54] No.

[00:40:55] The only fast turn option is to basically just like fast forward your own turn.

[00:41:00] Yeah.

[00:41:01] I think you can hold the space bar or something like that, right?

[00:41:04] And it like passes priority over and over or something like that.

[00:41:07] Yeah.

[00:41:07] There's like a little button you can click and it'll just keep passing priority.

[00:41:12] But I mean, that's not going to win you any games.

[00:41:15] No.

[00:41:16] And they're still going to sit there.

[00:41:17] I remember one of my favorite things about Arena was the like draft tournaments you could

[00:41:21] do in it with their little tokens or whatever.

[00:41:24] Those were actually really cool.

[00:41:26] It's like getting to do a draft tournament just in your house.

[00:41:29] Yeah.

[00:41:30] Even though I've never done one in real life.

[00:41:31] But you know, it was cool in the game.

[00:41:33] I haven't done any of them on Arena.

[00:41:36] I have done them in real life, but I might eventually.

[00:41:40] I don't know.

[00:41:40] It's hard for me to play Arena because I'm just like so used to paper magic that it's

[00:41:46] a completely different environment.

[00:41:50] Imagine someone trying to wake you out in real life.

[00:41:52] I don't know if you get mad.

[00:41:54] I mean, I think that that's a strategy in tournaments.

[00:41:58] Like to wait people out if you can.

[00:42:00] Is there chess timers?

[00:42:01] It is against the rules.

[00:42:04] So in magic tournaments, there's a timer for each like round and it is against the rules

[00:42:10] to waste time.

[00:42:11] Like you can't get disqualified.

[00:42:13] Yes.

[00:42:13] Slow play.

[00:42:14] You can get disqualified or, you know, for if it's very obvious you're slow playing.

[00:42:20] I see magic sucks.

[00:42:21] I hate it.

[00:42:23] I want to get back into it because it's been a long time since I want to play it.

[00:42:28] I played it and I see all the crossovers I've been doing right.

[00:42:31] Like the D&D crossover almost got me.

[00:42:34] And but I look at the price of expansion decks or sorry, startup like the commander decks or

[00:42:40] whatever.

[00:42:40] The cost is ridiculous.

[00:42:42] Or if you want those special crossover packs, they're randomized boosters and they're like

[00:42:45] a hundred bucks.

[00:42:46] Like you kidding me?

[00:42:48] Like Pokemon is not this, this terrible.

[00:42:50] Like it's crazy price.

[00:42:51] It's going to get worse now too.

[00:42:52] So you either buy singles or you proxy.

[00:42:54] You just don't buy sealed product ever.

[00:42:57] Yeah.

[00:42:57] I proxy cards.

[00:42:58] So I'll spend like a hundred bucks on my proxies, like just proxying an entire deck.

[00:43:03] And it'll be like the, if, if these, if this was the real, the real deal, the real cards,

[00:43:07] it'd be like a, like a $2,000 deck.

[00:43:10] Cause that's just what magic is now.

[00:43:11] Unfortunately.

[00:43:12] Yeah.

[00:43:12] It's stupid.

[00:43:13] Which name you commented on like a YouTube video or something with our main account that

[00:43:18] was talking about maybe wizards.

[00:43:20] Uh, they eradded a card or something like that saying like, Hey, this card is now worth

[00:43:25] dookie.

[00:43:26] And everyone's like, Oh no, I plan my whole financial future on the worth of my magic together

[00:43:30] in cards.

[00:43:31] I've lost everything.

[00:43:33] And now we keep getting added by your comments.

[00:43:36] Yeah.

[00:43:37] I did something else.

[00:43:38] I subscribed to a Patreon last night and I did it on our Patreon on accident.

[00:43:43] I didn't realize.

[00:43:44] So it's just annoying.

[00:43:45] I have two fucking accounts on everything.

[00:43:47] I feel like a secret agent.

[00:43:48] I don't know why I have all these accounts.

[00:43:51] Yeah.

[00:43:51] Got my burner phone.

[00:43:53] I need to do that so that I can separate my podcast life from my real life.

[00:43:57] It's really messing things up.

[00:43:58] I was just thinking about Chris Chan.

[00:44:00] Yeah.

[00:44:00] Yeah.

[00:44:00] Two phones.

[00:44:01] I don't want to talk about Chris Chan.

[00:44:03] Oh my God.

[00:44:04] All right.

[00:44:05] But, uh, let's go around to what did they buy?

[00:44:07] Uh, I heard you talking big money about your expensive 420 game collection last episode.

[00:44:13] So what about this one?

[00:44:15] Uh, very unfortunate.

[00:44:16] I'm irresponsible.

[00:44:17] Uh, I bought some more games, even though I'm not going to get to them for months,

[00:44:21] probably now because of this metaphor game, but, uh, animal well released on Xbox.

[00:44:27] Uh, so I bought that day one.

[00:44:29] I gotta, I gotta help the dunkster, you know?

[00:44:31] Do you have to help the dunkster?

[00:44:33] No, I don't have to, but I mean, I, I really do want to play this game.

[00:44:36] So I knew it was going to come to Xbox eventually.

[00:44:38] It's just like, you know, it dropped.

[00:44:40] I happened to have like $50 gift card on, on my, uh, rewards.

[00:44:45] So I was like, yeah, I'll buy a couple of things.

[00:44:47] So animal well looks really good.

[00:44:49] People have been telling me to buy it.

[00:44:50] It's honestly not in my wheelhouse.

[00:44:52] I'm really bad at 2d games.

[00:44:54] Uh, you know, like if the list for longtime listeners that a month and a half where I was

[00:45:00] being tormented by hollow night, being terrible at that game.

[00:45:04] Uh, so hopefully this game's not that hard, but, um, it looks spooky.

[00:45:07] It's good for spooky tober.

[00:45:09] Hmm.

[00:45:10] Um, did you ever play tunic?

[00:45:12] Sorry to derail, but did you play tunic before?

[00:45:15] I played it a little bit, but Phillip really liked tunic.

[00:45:18] Oh yeah.

[00:45:18] I liked, I didn't finish it though.

[00:45:19] The stupid tower wizard just kept beating me and I never got good guys.

[00:45:24] Okay.

[00:45:25] Okay.

[00:45:26] You got, you got it.

[00:45:26] No, you, you don't understand.

[00:45:28] You got to beat tunic.

[00:45:29] You got to beat it, beat it.

[00:45:31] I'm not going to do a fresh run to beat.

[00:45:33] Yeah.

[00:45:33] Start over, but you need to beat tunic.

[00:45:36] And I mean, beat it, beat it, beat it like with a sock.

[00:45:39] Okay.

[00:45:40] And then go play animal.

[00:45:41] Well, animal is also good in terms of like the meta game to it.

[00:45:44] It's not as deep as tunic was, but animal was a really great time.

[00:45:48] Like I had to hook up to my printer and I got a printer behind me after beating animal.

[00:45:53] I got a picture and I'm not going to say anything else, but that game goes places.

[00:45:57] It's really wild.

[00:45:58] Oh man.

[00:45:59] I hope you've played inscription then because you would.

[00:46:01] Oh yes.

[00:46:02] Yeah.

[00:46:02] It's like inscription that mind blown.

[00:46:04] Like what the hell did I just play?

[00:46:06] It's really awesome.

[00:46:07] Like when you type in your email address and they send you and they know your real name.

[00:46:12] Yeah.

[00:46:13] Yeah.

[00:46:13] It's good stuff.

[00:46:15] Dude.

[00:46:15] I love indie games.

[00:46:16] Speaking of, I don't know if this is an indie game or not, but wanted dead, terrible name.

[00:46:20] Any connection to the movie or the comics?

[00:46:24] Or the, was there a game?

[00:46:28] I don't know.

[00:46:29] I don't know what wanted dead is.

[00:46:30] I don't know if that's a real thing, but this game, it just looks like an action game.

[00:46:36] It looked fun.

[00:46:37] I've kept my eye on it for a little bit.

[00:46:39] Every now and then it goes on sale for like seven bucks.

[00:46:41] So I'm like, okay, yeah, sure.

[00:46:43] Seven bucks.

[00:46:43] This little action game.

[00:46:44] I'm really, really receptive to these random indie action games because of the Trepang 2 thing that happened to me where that game was one of the best games I played in like a decade.

[00:46:53] And I'm like, it's just a random indie game that as far as I'm aware, like 10 people in the world have played.

[00:47:00] So I'm like, Trepang 2 was, it has really pushed me into like wanting to jump into the deep end of these fucking random indie games again.

[00:47:08] And so wanted dead, it looks okay.

[00:47:12] And then I also bought Signalis, which might come as a surprise to people that I, I didn't buy it the first time.

[00:47:20] I thought I did, but I, I bought the game for multiple people.

[00:47:24] Like I bought it for people on the switch and on steam and stuff.

[00:47:26] And I didn't realize I had been playing it on game pass and I didn't buy it myself.

[00:47:30] So it's not on game pass anymore.

[00:47:32] I've been telling Rachel to play it and she's like, I can't find it.

[00:47:35] I can't. And so I realized I hadn't bought it.

[00:47:38] I bought it for myself to make up for that.

[00:47:41] I probably ended up playing it again also for October.

[00:47:45] I ended up playing this game like twice a year since I first seen it two years ago.

[00:47:51] I think I don't remember when it came out, but you were giving me so much shit.

[00:47:54] Cause you were just like, I keep, I keep bringing it up, wanting you to play it.

[00:47:58] I thought you'd play it so I could watch you play it.

[00:48:02] Yeah, man.

[00:48:02] You know, you don't want to play this game that I like.

[00:48:06] And then I go to download it and it's just not there.

[00:48:08] And I'm just like, what the fuck, dude?

[00:48:12] It's a long con.

[00:48:13] Just been guilting me about this game and not playing it.

[00:48:17] And you don't even, I can't even play it.

[00:48:20] This is the problem too, is that me and me and Rachel gaslight each other all the time,

[00:48:23] just fucking with each other.

[00:48:24] And so I was like, I don't know if she's being serious or not, that it's not on the Xbox.

[00:48:28] Cause I'm certain I bought this game.

[00:48:30] And I have like the worst like memory holes in my brain.

[00:48:33] So it's like, I will just misremember things all the time.

[00:48:36] Like for no reason.

[00:48:37] It'll be random, something random to the point where I'm like, why would I make this up?

[00:48:41] But I truly believe it.

[00:48:43] Like it's wrong.

[00:48:44] So it's like, fuck.

[00:48:45] It's a myth.

[00:48:46] Like the Mounties, they don't really exist.

[00:48:48] Signalis is just a myth.

[00:48:50] Cats only have four toes.

[00:48:52] Have you played Signalis, Jake?

[00:48:54] No, I've never heard of this before.

[00:48:56] Oh my God.

[00:48:57] It's so good.

[00:49:00] Yeah, I should.

[00:49:01] You guys play Tunic.

[00:49:02] I'll play Signalis.

[00:49:03] It's how we do it.

[00:49:04] Deal.

[00:49:05] I'll download Tunic right now.

[00:49:08] I don't have time.

[00:49:10] It's short.

[00:49:10] So Signalis is very short.

[00:49:12] It's like Resident Evil 2 short.

[00:49:14] Yeah.

[00:49:15] So this game is basically, it is a spiritual successor to Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 2.

[00:49:20] Like both of those games had a baby and the baby was really into cyberpunk.

[00:49:24] That's what this game is.

[00:49:26] I was almost thinking more like, what was the game by the robot cop on Adult Swim?

[00:49:30] The anime?

[00:49:31] Ghost in the Shell?

[00:49:33] Ghost in the Shell, yeah.

[00:49:34] It has a lot of Ghost in the Shell references in it as well.

[00:49:37] Okay.

[00:49:37] This is one of the most emotional games.

[00:49:39] This game just makes me cry all the time.

[00:49:41] And there's like hardly anything said.

[00:49:43] Like, oh my God.

[00:49:45] I mean, it's so good.

[00:49:46] But if you like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, like that type of gameplay, this and Crow Country are like the peak of modern indies bringing this stuff back.

[00:49:56] But Signalis, it does the thing also.

[00:49:58] It's pretty meta.

[00:49:59] But like, I mean, it's not really a spoiler.

[00:50:01] But it's like, it fake ends.

[00:50:04] Like, so it's not over.

[00:50:05] Like, it looks like it's over and it's not over.

[00:50:07] And the only reason why, I don't even want to tell you that.

[00:50:09] But like, the only reason why is because I have given this game to people and people think they beat it.

[00:50:13] And then I'm like, no, you didn't beat it.

[00:50:15] You gotta, it keeps going after that ending.

[00:50:18] So, it's so fucking good.

[00:50:19] I like games like that.

[00:50:20] Yeah.

[00:50:20] Like, the mind fuck of it all and just like where you are in the game and you think you're done.

[00:50:24] But no, no, no.

[00:50:24] There's more.

[00:50:25] It's like Nier Automata if you played that.

[00:50:27] Oh, yeah.

[00:50:27] You played that once.

[00:50:28] You have not beaten that game.

[00:50:29] You beat it like 26 times or whatever.

[00:50:31] Yeah.

[00:50:31] There are direct Nier Automata.

[00:50:34] I think the robots are named Gestalts in Signalis, right?

[00:50:39] Or is it the other way around?

[00:50:40] There's models of robots, I think.

[00:50:42] Is there a model named the Gestalt?

[00:50:44] I can't remember.

[00:50:44] But like, man.

[00:50:46] Oh, God.

[00:50:47] I'm so excited to play Signalis again.

[00:50:49] I'm going to be honest.

[00:50:51] But that's enough of me.

[00:50:52] Did you guys buy anything interesting?

[00:50:55] No.

[00:50:57] Well, Phillip, you had to drive to Arkansas or wherever you live now.

[00:51:01] Yeah.

[00:51:02] Well, my household goods will arrive tomorrow.

[00:51:04] So I'll want to sleep on air mattresses anymore.

[00:51:07] So I'm really excited for that.

[00:51:09] How much of your home did you bring?

[00:51:11] What?

[00:51:12] Oh, we bought.

[00:51:13] We brought a five by eight U-Haul trailer worth of house goods, which for, you know, two kids and a baby and then two adults and a dog.

[00:51:23] That's not a lot of stuff.

[00:51:25] Like, I have like one tote in a suitcase for like just that I shared with my wife and my baby as far as like stuff that we brought.

[00:51:36] Do they have like Walmart in Alaska?

[00:51:39] Yeah, they got Walmart, which call back to Canada.

[00:51:43] Their center is spelled T-R-E at the end instead of E-R.

[00:51:48] Centrae.

[00:51:48] Yeah, Centrae.

[00:51:50] Wild.

[00:51:51] Another thing is going through Monday.

[00:51:53] Just wait until you see what we do with the letter U in our half our words.

[00:51:57] It's mind blowing.

[00:51:59] I went past a sign that said Crow Country.

[00:52:03] It was tribal land.

[00:52:04] What?

[00:52:04] But I felt wild for a second.

[00:52:07] And I'm like, oh, man, we're going to the Crow Country.

[00:52:11] But it was aware of crows.

[00:52:13] You play Elden Ring?

[00:52:14] That's what reminds me of the giant crows.

[00:52:16] Yeah.

[00:52:17] We have this fucking amazing like short on Instagram.

[00:52:21] I need to put it on YouTube, I think.

[00:52:22] But like me and Phillip are running and there's this area where there's a door to a bonfire and the crow like ganks you from behind.

[00:52:30] And so me and Phillip are just talking, chatting.

[00:52:32] And then the crow shows up.

[00:52:34] We're like, oh, God, run to that door.

[00:52:36] And then there's the co-op gate.

[00:52:38] You know, an Elden Ring that you can't go certain places with a co-op partner.

[00:52:41] And so that happens.

[00:52:42] And I'm like, hmm.

[00:52:44] And so I'm just trying to get out of the gate so Phillip can get to that bonfire before he dies.

[00:52:50] So stupid.

[00:52:51] I love those crows.

[00:52:52] All right.

[00:52:53] Patreon section.

[00:52:55] Thanks for all the support on Patreon.

[00:52:56] I went ahead and did the full list.

[00:52:58] This isn't everybody that's actually financially supporting us.

[00:53:01] But this is all like our past supporters and people that are free members.

[00:53:04] So I wanted to give some shout out to you guys.

[00:53:07] Not just people that are financially supporting us.

[00:53:09] It maybe motivates someone to come out and support us.

[00:53:14] Like Aaron of the Superpod Saga.

[00:53:16] Jose Martinez.

[00:53:18] Berserker This.

[00:53:18] K.O.

[00:53:19] Cappy.

[00:53:19] Mr.

[00:53:19] Queen.

[00:53:19] Insane Cracker.

[00:53:20] Nikolai Knight.

[00:53:22] Hopple.

[00:53:23] Michael Philips.

[00:53:24] And the Intergalactic Pinecast.

[00:53:26] Thank you for all your past support.

[00:53:28] Present and future.

[00:53:29] Let's take a quick break and then we can hit the assholes.

[00:53:32] Hell yeah.

[00:53:33] Love hitting some assholes.

[00:53:34] Music plays.

[00:53:39] We're back.

[00:53:40] Time for some assholes.

[00:53:42] So I've been gone for a while.

[00:53:43] So I'm going to take this first asshole.

[00:53:45] Let's see which one of these looks good.

[00:53:48] Let's do number 10.

[00:53:49] Because I've been feeling comic books lately.

[00:53:52] Oh god it's long.

[00:53:54] Dude.

[00:53:55] This.

[00:53:56] This am I overreacting subreddit has almost taken over my life.

[00:54:00] I don't know.

[00:54:01] So Rachel just.

[00:54:02] I didn't know this about her.

[00:54:03] But she is always like on reddit.

[00:54:04] Like looking at am I the asshole and shit like that.

[00:54:07] And so I was just kind of like.

[00:54:09] I don't know if we've talked about it around each other or something.

[00:54:12] But I get notifications from reddit.

[00:54:13] That's like am I overreacting post.

[00:54:15] And it'll be like the most insane shit I've ever read.

[00:54:18] And I'm like.

[00:54:19] Well I've got to read this.

[00:54:20] I'm like in the middle of like putting mail in a mailbox.

[00:54:23] And I'm like oh I've got to read this.

[00:54:24] Hold on.

[00:54:25] So stupid.

[00:54:26] Pull over.

[00:54:27] I hate that you've noticed that how much I'm on reddit.

[00:54:30] Yeah.

[00:54:31] Rachel is a redditor for sure.

[00:54:34] Yeah.

[00:54:34] All right.

[00:54:35] This one's from at least I'm genre savvy.

[00:54:38] Main account.

[00:54:40] Post a lot in r slash horror.

[00:54:42] Millennials.

[00:54:43] And ask reddit.

[00:54:45] And brooklyn99.

[00:54:46] I love brooklyn99.

[00:54:48] It's a great show.

[00:54:49] Yeah.

[00:54:50] Oh man.

[00:54:51] Some of these.

[00:54:51] R slash momit.

[00:54:54] With the post replying.

[00:54:56] Oh god.

[00:54:56] We're not getting into that one.

[00:54:58] Yeah.

[00:54:58] Holy shit.

[00:55:00] Yeah.

[00:55:00] Don't talk about that one.

[00:55:02] That's crazy.

[00:55:03] So.

[00:55:04] Uh.

[00:55:05] This is on am I overreacting.

[00:55:07] So uh.

[00:55:07] This unknown asshole detected.

[00:55:09] But we'll see.

[00:55:11] My husband seems to think he funds my lifestyle.

[00:55:15] Oh.

[00:55:15] I gotta shift the tone there.

[00:55:17] This seems aggressive.

[00:55:18] That was not.

[00:55:20] That was not jovial.

[00:55:21] Like he.

[00:55:21] The beginning of that sentence.

[00:55:23] Yeah.

[00:55:23] My husband.

[00:55:24] 39 male.

[00:55:25] And I.

[00:55:26] 39 female.

[00:55:26] Have been married for nearly 10 years.

[00:55:29] We have a 4 year old daughter.

[00:55:31] I wrote a graphic novel.

[00:55:33] And finally found a publisher for it.

[00:55:34] I can't draw.

[00:55:35] So I paid a friend to illustrate it.

[00:55:37] And another friend to do the lettering.

[00:55:38] I paid for the entire thing myself.

[00:55:41] My husband did not contribute financially.

[00:55:44] And I did not ask him for any money.

[00:55:45] I'm also in my final semester of grade school.

[00:55:48] Grad school.

[00:55:49] Which I also.

[00:55:51] Not grade school.

[00:55:52] Not called grade school.

[00:55:53] No.

[00:55:54] This mom is not in grade school.

[00:55:56] She's in grad school.

[00:55:57] Which I also paid for myself.

[00:55:59] I did not ask my husband for any money.

[00:56:02] And I'm working part time.

[00:56:03] I'm set to graduate in May.

[00:56:05] Oh.

[00:56:05] Congratulations.

[00:56:07] My husband.

[00:56:08] Is she like a part time rocket scientist?

[00:56:10] How is she working part time.

[00:56:11] And financing all of this?

[00:56:13] She's working part time.

[00:56:15] She has kids.

[00:56:17] She has a husband.

[00:56:18] And a family I guess.

[00:56:19] And she wrote a graphic novel.

[00:56:21] And got it published.

[00:56:23] She's a go getter.

[00:56:25] It seems like a lot of money.

[00:56:27] I know.

[00:56:28] We'll get into it.

[00:56:29] My husband and I were talking about my graphic novel.

[00:56:31] And he mentioned being a silent investor in it.

[00:56:35] When I asked him what that meant.

[00:56:38] He mentioned contributing to its completion.

[00:56:40] I told him that I paid for the entire thing myself.

[00:56:43] And I never even asked him for money.

[00:56:46] He said.

[00:56:47] Will I keep a roof over your head?

[00:56:50] I was extremely upset.

[00:56:52] But upset.

[00:56:53] But this.

[00:56:54] It's true.

[00:56:55] That he makes more money than I do.

[00:56:56] And he covers the bulk of the household expenses.

[00:56:59] But I feel like he was belittling me.

[00:57:01] Implying that my graphic novel is just a silly pipe dream.

[00:57:04] When I got upset.

[00:57:06] He apologized.

[00:57:07] Then tried to backpedal and say that he was joking.

[00:57:10] I'm still really angry though.

[00:57:12] So.

[00:57:13] I've been working on this graphic novel.

[00:57:15] It's radiating through.

[00:57:16] It's like radiating through the post.

[00:57:18] I've been working on this graphic novel for over a decade.

[00:57:21] I'm set to graduate cum laude in May.

[00:57:25] I've been applying to.

[00:57:26] What is cum laude?

[00:57:28] What is that?

[00:57:28] I don't know.

[00:57:31] He's set to graduate cum laude in May.

[00:57:34] Right.

[00:57:38] To full-time positions.

[00:57:40] And have an appointment with my school's career center to review my resume.

[00:57:43] I do the bulk of the housework and childcare.

[00:57:46] Hell.

[00:57:47] When I forgot his mother's flowers and birthday card.

[00:57:51] He forgot to get his mother flowers and a birthday card.

[00:57:54] I did it.

[00:57:55] I'm really angry that he seems to think that he's funding a frivolous lifestyle for me.

[00:58:00] When I've covered two of my own major expenses.

[00:58:03] Graphic novel in grad school.

[00:58:05] And when I make sure the house is livable.

[00:58:07] And our toddler is fed and closed.

[00:58:08] It was my entire life.

[00:58:10] People have told me that I'm too sensitive.

[00:58:12] And I need to lighten up and learn how to take a joke.

[00:58:15] But I really don't feel like this was a joke.

[00:58:17] And I'm really angry about it.

[00:58:18] It feels like he's downplaying all of my hard work and not taking me seriously.

[00:58:23] Should I just let this go?

[00:58:24] Or should I talk to him again?

[00:58:26] Spoken like somebody who might be too sensitive and needs to lighten up.

[00:58:29] No.

[00:58:31] She's been working on this thing for 10 years.

[00:58:33] Which I really want to go through her profile and see if I can find any mention of where she...

[00:58:40] Okay, she hasn't posted anything else.

[00:58:41] I feel like someone who's that into comic books or something would post something about her work.

[00:58:47] Stuff, yeah.

[00:58:48] Yeah, but it looks like there's no connection.

[00:58:51] Man, this is a...

[00:58:54] You know what's crazy?

[00:58:55] I actually read this the other day.

[00:58:57] That's how much I am on Reddit.

[00:58:58] But I literally read this like a week ago.

[00:59:02] And I don't know how because this is a seven month old post.

[00:59:06] So I'm very confused why I saw this and how deep I was on this subreddit to find it.

[00:59:14] But I think she is overreacting though.

[00:59:18] Where was the video game?

[00:59:20] Is it just graphic novels?

[00:59:21] No, it was comic books.

[00:59:22] It was graphic novels.

[00:59:23] Yeah.

[00:59:24] He does, you know, keep a roof over her and her family's head.

[00:59:28] She has a part-time job that pays for all of her things she's doing.

[00:59:34] Which is like, you know...

[00:59:36] Like, it could be paying for like college or grad school or whatever.

[00:59:40] Or the electricity.

[00:59:41] The electricity.

[00:59:44] But that would be like...

[00:59:47] I don't know.

[00:59:49] It seems that she just isn't acknowledging that he does do things for her.

[00:59:55] It also doesn't seem to acknowledge that he is doing a lot of things.

[00:59:59] Because I assume if they do have a four-year-old daughter,

[01:00:02] she's probably going to some kind of preschool, daycare type deal that's probably paid for by the husband's job that allows her the time to pursue her graphic novel hobby.

[01:00:17] It's like...

[01:00:18] Like, this is the weird part where it's like...

[01:00:19] I see a lot of posts that talk about, you know, money and couples and stuff like that.

[01:00:24] One thing that doesn't get brought up is the time management that comes into a couple and being a parent.

[01:00:30] Because for instance, right now, I'm up here probably for the next, I don't know, three whatever hours.

[01:00:34] Hopefully it doesn't go that long.

[01:00:35] I'm...

[01:00:36] While my wife is now taking care of three kids on her own during this point and making dinner.

[01:00:41] So it's not a money thing to let me pursue my hobby.

[01:00:46] Even though I could argue that, oh, I'm working and she's a stay-at-home mom so that I'm paying for all this stuff.

[01:00:53] Like, that doesn't make sense in reality.

[01:00:56] Like, I feel like this wife is detached from the big picture.

[01:01:03] Yeah, it's not a good...

[01:01:04] Of what's actually happening.

[01:01:05] That's not a good road to go down.

[01:01:07] Starting to like, hey, I pay for this.

[01:01:09] You pay for that.

[01:01:10] Like, if you are husband and wife.

[01:01:12] Or even if you're a girlfriend.

[01:01:13] Like, if you're living together.

[01:01:15] Like, you guys...

[01:01:15] You gotta like...

[01:01:17] It's at some level.

[01:01:19] It doesn't have to be all the way 100%.

[01:01:20] But at some level, you have to imagine all of the funds as both of your funds.

[01:01:25] Right?

[01:01:25] So it's like, whenever...

[01:01:27] Because I pay for...

[01:01:28] Like, I think I pay all the bills.

[01:01:30] I don't really know.

[01:01:31] I just pay whatever I have to.

[01:01:33] Rachel will buy, like, groceries and stuff.

[01:01:35] And like, we all just kind of contribute in little ways that we can.

[01:01:38] If I need a little bit of extra money because I spent too much on fucking Animal Well and stuff.

[01:01:43] And I'm like, oh, I'm $40 short on rent, Rachel.

[01:01:46] It's like, I don't think it'd be a big deal.

[01:01:48] Like, I wouldn't be worried about that.

[01:01:50] And whenever you're, like, arguing that...

[01:01:53] I don't know.

[01:01:54] You're divvying up the funds.

[01:01:56] That's going to just kind of divide you unnecessarily, you know?

[01:02:00] Well, is the husband an asshole for sliding in saying he was a slilant investor?

[01:02:06] Investor or whatever?

[01:02:08] No.

[01:02:09] I don't know.

[01:02:10] It does a wrong phrase.

[01:02:11] Is he also going to claim that he helped her get her grad school diploma?

[01:02:16] Because he, you know, I don't know, parented the kid half the time?

[01:02:21] I don't think his comment was necessary.

[01:02:23] But I also don't think her reaction was necessary.

[01:02:26] Yeah.

[01:02:27] They should just not talk to each other.

[01:02:29] Yeah.

[01:02:30] Instead of talking to each other and working it out, they should just completely stop talking

[01:02:34] to each other.

[01:02:36] I think that would be a really good story.

[01:02:37] And she should write a novel about it.

[01:02:39] Yeah.

[01:02:39] That could be her next graphic novel that she can work on for the next 10 years.

[01:02:44] It'd be really good.

[01:02:46] So I've been with my wife for 15 years.

[01:02:48] And we also got three kids.

[01:02:50] And I mean, the one thing I've learned is you can have your own bank account.

[01:02:54] You're just not going to have anything in it.

[01:02:56] So I call mine my divorce fund.

[01:02:58] It's pretty much empty all the time.

[01:03:01] Because you're married.

[01:03:03] When you're married, you're in it for the long haul, especially once you have kids.

[01:03:06] And you're right when you mentioned that the time is also a factor.

[01:03:09] It's not all about money.

[01:03:10] There's also the time commitment as well.

[01:03:12] And that is a cost in a different way.

[01:03:14] I think the husband's a bit of a dick with his comment, though.

[01:03:17] Like, you don't need to phrase it exactly like that.

[01:03:19] But I would also expect if for some reason his wife hits it big, right?

[01:03:24] You finally get the degrees that you want.

[01:03:25] You're finally making the graphic novels.

[01:03:27] If that becomes successful, that's for the household.

[01:03:31] You both get the fruits of that labor.

[01:03:34] Just like she's been going through school.

[01:03:37] And again, the time commitment he would have spent on his side for raising the kid as well.

[01:03:40] So Dick for the comment.

[01:03:42] But I think she's definitely understanding how much value he's brought to the relationship there as well.

[01:03:48] So we're not.

[01:03:48] I don't know.

[01:03:49] It just seems like something I would say, right?

[01:03:53] Like, I mean, I'm very sarcastic.

[01:03:55] Because obviously we can't tell what their personalities are like.

[01:04:00] But if you're a sarcastic kind of person, this does seem like just an off-the-cuff joke that you didn't really think of whenever you threw it out there.

[01:04:08] But it's like, I don't know.

[01:04:09] It's like if Rachel was doing something.

[01:04:13] And I'm like, oh, you know, a silent investor.

[01:04:15] You're, you know, nudge, nudge.

[01:04:17] I don't think.

[01:04:18] I'd beat your ass, honestly.

[01:04:19] She's not overreacting.

[01:04:21] And if I heard this shit from him, I would just fucking, I'd lose it.

[01:04:26] She wins a big at a magic tournament.

[01:04:28] And you're like, I drove you to that magic tournament.

[01:04:30] Yeah.

[01:04:32] Dude.

[01:04:32] It'd be like, remember all those games we played together?

[01:04:35] All that.

[01:04:35] Oh my god.

[01:04:36] You would have never made it without me.

[01:04:36] I can imagine.

[01:04:37] I can imagine she wins this tournament and wins a lot of money.

[01:04:40] And it's like a deck that me and her both like brewed at the same time.

[01:04:44] And she plays a card that I'm like, I convinced her to put in the deck.

[01:04:49] And she's winning.

[01:04:50] And I'm like, this money is supposed to be mine.

[01:04:52] Like this should be, that would tear us apart.

[01:04:54] I would quit playing magic.

[01:04:55] You're such a little goblin.

[01:04:57] If you actually had magic for like 15 years and I would stop.

[01:05:00] For years.

[01:05:01] I would always hover that over her head.

[01:05:03] I'd be like, hey, so it's like, you know, uh, dockside extortionist, huh?

[01:05:07] Not a very good card, huh?

[01:05:08] I mean, I don't know.

[01:05:10] Band.

[01:05:12] No one needs that shit.

[01:05:13] Don't know why that was the first card I thought of.

[01:05:15] I don't know.

[01:05:17] All right.

[01:05:17] Next up, Jake, do you have an asshole you want to call out?

[01:05:21] Sure.

[01:05:21] Let's do, I think it was 13.

[01:05:23] Yeah, it was 13.

[01:05:24] 13.

[01:05:26] Despite Hope is the username.

[01:05:28] It looks like they frequent a lot of funny animals and funny cat subreddits,

[01:05:32] including one called Illegally Small Cats.

[01:05:35] That's M-O-L for the audio listeners.

[01:05:38] And also r slash mushrooms.

[01:05:42] So that's a good time.

[01:05:44] Just regular mushrooms.

[01:05:45] Just regular mushrooms.

[01:05:47] Not the fun kind, yeah.

[01:05:49] Y'all, I could use your wisdom here.

[01:05:51] I'll try to make this as short as possible.

[01:05:53] Two days ago, I, 37F, went into anaphylaxis from an unknown source

[01:05:59] while shopping with my husband, 37M.

[01:06:02] My face erupted into burning hives out of nowhere.

[01:06:05] This has never happened to me before.

[01:06:07] I asked him to call the nurse line to make sure ER would be covered.

[01:06:11] American.

[01:06:12] He wouldn't, so I had to.

[01:06:14] While my face is on fire.

[01:06:16] Damn.

[01:06:17] I get the green light and off to ER I go where he drops me off

[01:06:21] and heads back to sit with the kids 15 and 11.

[01:06:23] Long story short, the head nurse took one look at me

[01:06:26] and said I had the anaphylaxis cocktail ordered before I made it to the registration.

[01:06:31] Five minutes later, I wouldn't be here.

[01:06:33] Five minutes later and I wouldn't be here.

[01:06:35] I get discharged and I'm flying high and want the cocktail and adrenaline.

[01:06:39] Husband gets me home and asks if he can go play D&D with the boys.

[01:06:43] Hell yeah.

[01:06:44] Both kids are asleep, sleepovers.

[01:06:48] Again, I'm effed up on meds.

[01:06:49] Happy to be alive.

[01:06:50] I would have agreed to anything, so I said he could.

[01:06:54] Next morning, it hits me.

[01:06:55] Why would it even cross his mind to go out after what happened?

[01:07:00] Now I'm so hurt, I'm seriously thinking of leaving him.

[01:07:02] Am I overreacting?

[01:07:04] Now, a guest got a lot of comments and she did an update

[01:07:08] to respond to a few of the general comments she was getting.

[01:07:11] I won't read all of them, but there's one I do got to read here.

[01:07:14] A couple.

[01:07:15] Number nine was technically he did get to go to the hang with the boys.

[01:07:18] It was a pirate-themed game night.

[01:07:20] Oh.

[01:07:21] I'm glad she...

[01:07:23] You can't miss pirate night.

[01:07:25] It's pirate night.

[01:07:26] It totally makes sense why it was on his mind then.

[01:07:29] Number four was...

[01:07:30] He's at the emergency room with her and he's got on his eyepatch.

[01:07:34] This is from 15 days ago, so you know that this is just all based off

[01:07:39] of the Yakuza pirates in Hawaii or whatever.

[01:07:43] That's literally the only reason they're having pirate-themed night.

[01:07:46] Dropped her off at the ER.

[01:07:48] Anyway.

[01:07:49] Oh, no.

[01:07:51] So bad.

[01:07:52] Number four was, I am 95% sure my husband did not try to poison me.

[01:07:57] He's a donkey bum, yes, but not an evil person.

[01:08:00] You don't have to be evil poison.

[01:08:00] She must have got a lot of people saying, yeah, yeah, yeah, girl.

[01:08:03] Your boy, he poisoned you.

[01:08:05] You gotta leave him.

[01:08:07] He's a criminal.

[01:08:10] God, I love it.

[01:08:10] Pirate-themed D&D night.

[01:08:12] Sign me up.

[01:08:14] Swashbuckling adventure on the high seas.

[01:08:16] All right.

[01:08:17] So here's the thing.

[01:08:17] I think also one big thing that...

[01:08:20] So if she's...

[01:08:22] So I'm assuming...

[01:08:23] Is this like an allergic reaction?

[01:08:24] I don't know what anaphylaxis is.

[01:08:26] It sounds like it.

[01:08:27] Yes.

[01:08:27] Anaphylactic.

[01:08:28] That's like your throat closing, right?

[01:08:31] Probably.

[01:08:31] I don't know.

[01:08:32] I eat a shrimp by going to anaphylaxis.

[01:08:33] It's a real bad time.

[01:08:34] Yeah.

[01:08:35] It's EpiPen time.

[01:08:36] Yeah.

[01:08:37] Yeah.

[01:08:37] So the thing is, like, I wonder if you're...

[01:08:39] If you have that bad of an allergic reaction to things, how often are you going into anaphylactic shock?

[01:08:47] Never happened before.

[01:08:48] She said that it was unknown.

[01:08:51] Yeah.

[01:08:51] Well, I mean, like...

[01:08:53] So this is the first time for sure?

[01:08:55] Yeah.

[01:08:55] That's what you said.

[01:08:56] This has never happened to me before.

[01:08:58] And then she asked her and she just covered it.

[01:09:01] It's her next step.

[01:09:02] She's like, hold on.

[01:09:03] I can't...

[01:09:03] I don't know if I can afford to die.

[01:09:05] Yeah.

[01:09:06] Oh, I think that's probably why I forgot that part.

[01:09:08] Because that, you know, the funny American part.

[01:09:11] But, um...

[01:09:11] So the...

[01:09:12] The...

[01:09:13] So if it's the first time, then I guess it is kind of strange for the husband to...

[01:09:19] I mean, I don't know.

[01:09:20] How long was she at the...

[01:09:21] So how long was she at the ER?

[01:09:23] Not that long, right?

[01:09:24] No, but she got done before nighttime.

[01:09:26] No, it was quick.

[01:09:26] Seems like it was fast.

[01:09:27] Okay.

[01:09:28] Well, it's like, if you're okay, like, what can he do?

[01:09:31] You know?

[01:09:31] Like, it makes sense.

[01:09:32] Comfort her?

[01:09:33] Where she thought she...

[01:09:34] Support?

[01:09:35] Yeah, well, I mean, like...

[01:09:37] Be there in case, like, the medication has some, like, later reaction.

[01:09:42] Make sure she doesn't, like...

[01:09:43] What if she gets re-exposed?

[01:09:45] Die.

[01:09:46] How would she get re-exposed?

[01:09:48] She's going to pass out from the medication, right?

[01:09:50] Right.

[01:09:51] She said it came from an unknown source while shopping.

[01:09:54] So maybe they were out, they got some weird pho, and they brought it back to the house,

[01:09:58] and she's like, oh, time to snack after, you know, almost dying.

[01:10:02] And she eats some cabbage or something that just ruins her life again.

[01:10:06] Also, whatever the medication was, it was, like, she mentions adrenaline.

[01:10:10] I'm sure there's steroids in that.

[01:10:13] There's no shot that she's going to sleep after that.

[01:10:16] Like, I don't know if you've ever, like, had steroids, but I'm allergic to, like, a lot of antibiotics,

[01:10:22] so I always have to get steroids instead.

[01:10:24] And, like, you're fucking wired with that shit.

[01:10:28] Go to the gym.

[01:10:30] Yeah.

[01:10:32] Same steroids, right?

[01:10:35] I don't know.

[01:10:36] I just, I can see, I can see, because, okay, so here's the thing.

[01:10:40] I don't know if you guys have ever, like, taken care of somebody who was just terminally ill,

[01:10:44] but for, like, a year and a half...

[01:10:46] Oh, fuck.

[01:10:47] Okay, I don't think that changed anything.

[01:10:49] Rachel, can you hear me?

[01:10:51] No, I just, like, lost connection completely to the internet, but I think it's back.

[01:10:55] Yeah, we're back.

[01:10:56] Okay.

[01:10:56] It wasn't long enough that it changed anything.

[01:10:58] So I took care, for a long time, let's just hear the story, but, like, I took care of

[01:11:03] my aunt who had kidney failure, so for about a year and a half, I took her to dialysis

[01:11:08] every single day.

[01:11:09] And it's, like, at first, it's very, very shocking and, like, and crazy, but after a

[01:11:14] while, it just, you get very accustomed to it, even though it's, like, a really crazy

[01:11:18] thing to watch, to, like, experience.

[01:11:21] And I understand, so, like, she would need to, if she needed to go to the hospital for

[01:11:25] something, it's like, okay, yeah, we'll get the ambulance here.

[01:11:29] After a while, you're desensitized to that sort of thing, you know?

[01:11:32] And I don't, so I wouldn't say that the very first time something like this ever happened,

[01:11:36] like, it makes sense for him to be, like, desensitized to it, but it kind of, it's, like,

[01:11:41] I can see the instance where it's, like, he had plans today, so he's like, oh, I'm not

[01:11:46] going to be able to do that because this is happening.

[01:11:48] And then the thing wraps up.

[01:11:50] It's like, oh, you're safe, you're good, nothing's wrong, or, I mean, everything's

[01:11:54] kind of, like, on the downslope, like, we're not freaking out anymore.

[01:11:57] Plus, it got finished before the thing started, so I can still go and do the thing.

[01:12:02] I can see that thought process.

[01:12:03] I don't think it's, like, insane to, like, I don't think that's an insane leap of logic.

[01:12:08] It is, what you guys said does make sense to me, I guess, like, reflecting on it.

[01:12:12] Like, you, there could be things like complications.

[01:12:17] I had imagined, though, if there were, if he needed to stick around in case something bad

[01:12:21] would happen, I would imagine the people at the ER would be like, hey, don't leave her

[01:12:24] side, right?

[01:12:26] Yeah.

[01:12:27] So if, if, if they were like, no, it's fine to go do something, she's probably gonna go

[01:12:32] to sleep at some point.

[01:12:33] It's, I don't, I don't see a big reason why he should have to stick around.

[01:12:39] I think first time, the first time that happens, it's incredibly scary, not knowing what the

[01:12:44] trigger was for that.

[01:12:46] Like, your throat is closing up, you can't see, your face is all swollen, your hands are

[01:12:50] sweaty, you feel like you're gonna die, and your husband's like,

[01:12:54] you gotta go.

[01:12:55] Ironite at the D&D at the boys' house.

[01:12:57] That's pretty rough.

[01:12:58] To the seas.

[01:12:59] Like, my, like, my wife is allergic to, um, a number of things.

[01:13:03] Uh, peg is, it's like a filler ingredient in a lot of things, and also butter at random.

[01:13:07] So when we go to our restaurant, it's like spitting the roulette of whether she's going

[01:13:11] to be in the bathroom or taking medications for the rest of the night.

[01:13:14] So the first few times that happened, she was going to the ER, because we didn't know

[01:13:18] what the hell was going on, right?

[01:13:19] And, uh, some reactions were worse than others.

[01:13:21] That was a scary time.

[01:13:23] But now it's been two years.

[01:13:25] Now when it happens, it's kind of like, I'm gonna go podcast.

[01:13:28] You okay there on the toilet for the next three hours?

[01:13:29] Okay, cool.

[01:13:30] Like, it's, I'm not, she doesn't, she doesn't think of me as an asshole.

[01:13:34] Not all the time.

[01:13:35] Because you're right.

[01:13:36] Like, it happens frequent enough.

[01:13:38] It's, you, you know what's going on.

[01:13:40] It's bad, but it's familiar enough, familiar enough to know what to do.

[01:13:44] I feel like if this was like an ongoing issue, then yeah, let the dude go out and play

[01:13:49] with his friends, but it's the first time and he wouldn't be, he could be half-assed

[01:13:53] to put away the handbook and call up the phone and call the nurse line to find out whether

[01:13:58] his wife is going to die.

[01:14:00] Come on.

[01:14:00] He was putting his costume on, making sure it was accurate.

[01:14:05] So, also this word, anaphylaxis, is it 100% always your throat is closing up?

[01:14:11] Or could it be other, because what she describes is her face erupting into hives and that's

[01:14:16] it.

[01:14:16] She doesn't say anything else.

[01:14:18] She says she's five minutes from dying.

[01:14:20] Yeah, but I mean like.

[01:14:22] No, so it is a life-threatening allergic reaction that can occur rapidly and requires immediate

[01:14:28] medical attention, symptoms, itchy or raised skin, swelling of the face, eyes, and other

[01:14:35] things, lightheaded, swelling of the mouth, throat, or tongue, wheezing, abdominal pain,

[01:14:41] nausea, and vomiting.

[01:14:42] So there's a whole.

[01:14:43] Collapse and unconsciousness.

[01:14:46] There's tears, yeah.

[01:14:47] If I have a shrimp, I'm getting EpiPen and going to the hospital.

[01:14:50] If I have a crab, I just go to sleep.

[01:14:53] Like it's, that's my range on shellfish.

[01:14:55] So it's like, depending on which medication I take that I'm allergic to, I'll get different

[01:15:02] symptoms of anaphylaxis.

[01:15:04] If I take sulfa, my skin breaks out into hives.

[01:15:09] If I take penicillin, my throat closes.

[01:15:12] So like.

[01:15:12] So like, that's what I'm saying though.

[01:15:14] Like it doesn't seem like her throat closed up right.

[01:15:16] So the only thing she described is her face getting hives.

[01:15:19] And I'm assuming it probably swole a little bit too.

[01:15:22] Like I imagine if it was a throat closing up thing, like if it was like a 10 out of 10

[01:15:27] anaphylactic thing, I imagine it probably would be less likely that maybe he would be the

[01:15:34] go to D&D and whatever.

[01:15:35] Right.

[01:15:36] I don't.

[01:15:36] If there's like a spectrum of like intensity of anaphylaxis.

[01:15:42] Uh, and she had like a three, like at what point is it okay?

[01:15:46] Like on that, on that spectrum to be like, oh, I'm going to go to D&D with the boys now.

[01:15:51] Like now that this is all like wrapped itself up.

[01:15:54] I really think it's only because like, this was the first time it happened.

[01:15:58] That makes him seem kind of like, okay, you could have stayed home tonight.

[01:16:03] Well, that could be his crutch as well though.

[01:16:05] Maybe he has no idea what this has to do with anything.

[01:16:08] He's like, I don't know.

[01:16:09] She just started breaking out and freaking out and went to the ER.

[01:16:12] I don't know what she's going on, but she seems fine now.

[01:16:14] I'm out.

[01:16:15] Like, I mean, that's maybe the guy who didn't know you could have a broken arm.

[01:16:18] And he's like, what's the deal with the cast?

[01:16:20] You know, like he just doesn't understand injuries.

[01:16:25] Yeah.

[01:16:26] Well, I mean, like I would, yeah, I wouldn't understand the intent.

[01:16:29] The, I don't know anything about any of this.

[01:16:31] I've never had any of this happen to me.

[01:16:32] So it's like, I've never been around anyone that's had an allergic reaction.

[01:16:35] So it's like, if someone's face was burning up, I mean, like getting hives and stuff, I

[01:16:41] wouldn't, I wouldn't know what to do.

[01:16:43] I'd just be like, yeah, ER, I guess.

[01:16:44] I don't know.

[01:16:45] I don't know if he's an asshole.

[01:16:47] I don't know.

[01:16:47] She's not overreacting because it makes sense.

[01:16:50] Like this is, this is understandable.

[01:16:52] Like her emotions that she's feeling, but it, but to think about leaving him over this

[01:17:00] is like, you have kids, you have kids together.

[01:17:05] Like that's so much.

[01:17:08] That's so, that's so, that's a huge escalation.

[01:17:11] I think, you know, like in my brain, at least.

[01:17:14] All right.

[01:17:14] I think it's going to move on to the next asshole.

[01:17:17] 24.

[01:17:19] Really sticking to the top today.

[01:17:21] Snail queen forever.

[01:17:26] The best username I've seen in a while.

[01:17:29] I don't know.

[01:17:30] Is there anything about this user that's interesting?

[01:17:33] I didn't look.

[01:17:34] What's your job?

[01:17:35] Nissan Sentra.

[01:17:37] They posted it by the asshole.

[01:17:38] What is this?

[01:17:39] Thomas the plank engine.

[01:17:41] I like that.

[01:17:42] Whatever that is.

[01:17:44] Sounds good.

[01:17:47] Would I be the asshole?

[01:17:49] If I celebrated my 21st birthday the way I wanted behind my family's back.

[01:17:57] I, 20 female, am going to turn 21 in less than a week.

[01:18:02] I also live with a very Catholic grandma.

[01:18:05] 84 female.

[01:18:07] Thank you.

[01:18:08] For your old grandma.

[01:18:11] For a while, I have gone through several 21st plans that have all been rejected by my grandma.

[01:18:18] My initial plan was that since my birthday is happening around the time of the Ren Fair,

[01:18:23] I'd get all my friends and I to dress up as our D&D characters, drink ale, and have fun at the fair.

[01:18:32] My grandma rejected this idea because I'd be drinking around a large group of people.

[01:18:38] And she's convinced that I'll end up so drunk I'll be taken advantage of and murdered by a jester at the fair.

[01:18:45] Happens every year.

[01:18:46] Every year.

[01:18:48] She's 84 years old.

[01:18:49] There were jesters back in her day that were taking advantage of the young maids.

[01:18:56] My second birthday idea was to have a video game themed birthday party where everyone would show up dressed as their favorite video game character.

[01:19:06] I'd get a black forest cake, Portal 2, and we'd have a rum and nuka cola from Fallout.

[01:19:15] Got the recipe from the official Fallout cookbook.

[01:19:20] Yo, these cookbooks need to chill out.

[01:19:22] All right?

[01:19:23] Grandma rejected the idea because she thinks birthdays after you're 18 should be sophisticated.

[01:19:31] And games aren't sophisticated to her at all.

[01:19:35] I'm just thinking of the principal guy from Spy Family, the Eleganto.

[01:19:40] Eleganto.

[01:19:40] Yeah.

[01:19:42] My third and final idea was to have all my friends come over for a sleepover

[01:19:48] where we watch The Room and The Disaster Artist.

[01:19:53] Can't wait to see what's wrong with this.

[01:19:55] And take sips of wine each time a funny moment happens.

[01:20:00] They should take a drink every time they see Tommy Wiseau's ass instead.

[01:20:05] That would be better.

[01:20:06] So I'm not familiar with these movies.

[01:20:08] I take it these are not comedies?

[01:20:10] The Room.

[01:20:10] The Room.

[01:20:12] That's the Tommy Wiseau.

[01:20:14] He spent like a ton of money and thought it was going to be the best movie in the world.

[01:20:19] And it is a terrible piece of hot garbage.

[01:20:22] Have you guys not seen The Room?

[01:20:24] Yeah, I haven't seen either of these.

[01:20:25] It's amazing.

[01:20:26] It's that movie where he's like, I did not hit her.

[01:20:29] I did not.

[01:20:30] You're tearing me apart, Lisa.

[01:20:33] Dude, it's amazing.

[01:20:35] It's so good.

[01:20:37] And then The Disaster Artist was made.

[01:20:40] It's about The Room.

[01:20:42] It's a mockumentary.

[01:20:43] Yeah.

[01:20:44] But it has like James Franco, which is gross.

[01:20:49] Coming up a lot on the podcast.

[01:20:51] Really?

[01:20:51] I don't like that.

[01:20:53] But yeah, you should watch The Room.

[01:20:55] Don't watch The Disaster Artist.

[01:20:57] But The Room is great.

[01:20:59] Highly recommend.

[01:21:01] Where was I?

[01:21:05] Grandma rejected this idea because again, I'd be drinking with a large group of people.

[01:21:12] So she's 100% convinced they'll do stuff to my drunk corpse.

[01:21:18] I'm purposely not even trying to get drunk on my 21st.

[01:21:23] So finally.

[01:21:24] Every suggestion has alcohol involved, though.

[01:21:28] I mean.

[01:21:29] Yeah, but she's not getting drunk.

[01:21:30] I like how Grandma is progressively getting more...

[01:21:34] It's like, they're gonna take advantage of you.

[01:21:37] You're gonna be a drunk corpse.

[01:21:39] I'm sorry.

[01:21:41] I mean, she probably saw Terrifier 3 or something and now she's like, she's just on a bender of fear, you know?

[01:21:49] Probably.

[01:21:50] So finally.

[01:21:52] So finally, I asked my grandma what she wanted me to do for my birthday.

[01:21:56] Her big plan is that she wants two of my older brothers, 32 male and 28 male, to drive me to a bar, order me one drink so I can see what the bar experience is like, and then immediately drive me home the moment I finish the drink it's paid for.

[01:22:18] I told her that sounds like an absolutely bonkers of a 21st birthday plan.

[01:22:25] To which she said, I either celebrate my 21st birthday with safety, or she's locking me in my bedroom to spend my birthday all alone.

[01:22:35] How strong is this 84 year old?

[01:22:37] Dude, stop sneaking up.

[01:22:40] So here's where I'm wondering if I'd be the asshole.

[01:22:44] Would it be wrong of me to just sneak out of the house on my birthday and just do whatever I want?

[01:22:51] Like, go to Applebee's all by myself and drink and eat whatever I want, or then later go to the mall and walk around, buy whatever I want, all by myself.

[01:23:05] That's just my Saturdays.

[01:23:06] Honestly, it's honestly the only thing I can think of doing now, since all my other ideas aren't allowed.

[01:23:14] I feel like I'd be the asshole since I'd be making my grandma so worried by sneaking out.

[01:23:20] You know what this feels like?

[01:23:22] I don't know why this is in my head, but you know in Spider-Man, like, when he's mean to Uncle Ben and then he gets shot because he goes out?

[01:23:30] Like, I mean, he goes out, if she goes out to drink her by herself at Applebee's, she comes home and there's a jester murdering her grandma.

[01:23:38] Her grandma's drunk corpse just laying on the ground.

[01:23:43] Poor.

[01:23:44] Her brothers were force-feeding her that drink from the bar.

[01:23:47] That one drink.

[01:23:50] Seriously, grandma's 84.

[01:23:52] Time to lock her in the room.

[01:23:54] If anyone's getting locked in a room by themselves all night, I think it's grandma.

[01:23:58] Let's be real.

[01:23:59] She's nuts.

[01:24:00] That's crazy.

[01:24:02] Applebee's.

[01:24:03] That's sophistication right there.

[01:24:05] Yeah, the Applebee's are so funny.

[01:24:07] Here's where I think she might be an asshole.

[01:24:10] Because she is turning 21 in less than a week, and she's trying to put together two big birthday plans, like, in less than a week.

[01:24:17] That involves costumes by other people.

[01:24:20] I don't know.

[01:24:21] I like the, uh, I like this grandma, actually.

[01:24:24] I'm on her side.

[01:24:25] I'm just going to be a contrarian the whole way through.

[01:24:28] Uh, she's, she's, she's worried about her little girl.

[01:24:31] Her little girl's all growing up.

[01:24:32] I have a question.

[01:24:32] Is, does she only live with the grandma?

[01:24:34] This grandma's, because there's brothers brought up, but they're pretty old.

[01:24:38] So it's like, it seems like she just lives alone with the grandma.

[01:24:41] Where are the parents at?

[01:24:43] Uh, I guess they're not involved.

[01:24:44] That court jester again.

[01:24:46] Yeah, the court, I mean.

[01:24:47] Dude, it's like, it's like in Psychonauts, how they had the family curse or whatever to die in water.

[01:24:55] Yeah, this is jester.

[01:24:56] And it's the grandma that tells them about the curse, too.

[01:25:00] So that's the funny thing.

[01:25:02] Um, yeah, maybe she's just got a lot of experience with these jesters killing people.

[01:25:06] So, um, I say pay attention to her.

[01:25:08] This is how horror movies begin, by not listening to your elders about, about fatal stabbings.

[01:25:15] So, yeah.

[01:25:17] Maybe, I don't know.

[01:25:19] Just go to Applebee's, girl.

[01:25:21] It'll be fine.

[01:25:22] You'll be fine.

[01:25:22] And if, if grandma dies as a direct result of you going to Applebee's, then that should teach everyone a lesson about how bad Applebee's is.

[01:25:34] I know.

[01:25:34] Also, like, of all the places.

[01:25:37] One thing, too.

[01:25:38] This was two months ago.

[01:25:40] A fucking Portal 2 cake.

[01:25:42] It's 2024.

[01:25:44] My sister in Christ.

[01:25:45] So lame.

[01:25:46] A Portal 2 cake.

[01:25:48] What is going on here?

[01:25:49] It's weird that she's so young.

[01:25:51] Like, you know, I'm 31.

[01:25:52] Or whatever.

[01:25:53] She's about to turn 21.

[01:25:54] Like.

[01:25:54] Yeah.

[01:25:55] And she's a fan of Portal 2, specifically.

[01:25:59] That's weird.

[01:26:00] For her, it's retro.

[01:26:00] It's like if somebody came up here and were like, I really love Half-Life 2 episode 1.

[01:26:05] Or something like, don't talk to me.

[01:26:07] You know, first.

[01:26:09] You have no idea why this game is good.

[01:26:12] You have no idea.

[01:26:13] Yeah.

[01:26:14] You weren't there in my day.

[01:26:15] That's why Rachel's talking shit about metaphor when I'm looking at it and I'm like, this is beautiful.

[01:26:19] She's like, this is ugly.

[01:26:20] And I'm like, you have fucking no idea what games used to look like.

[01:26:23] Okay?

[01:26:24] Like, you fucking.

[01:26:25] Go look at Persona 4 right now.

[01:26:27] Like, and then look at this.

[01:26:28] And then tell me that this is ugly.

[01:26:30] God.

[01:26:31] Give a care.

[01:26:32] It's ugly.

[01:26:34] Stand behind it.

[01:26:35] All right.

[01:26:36] Does anybody think Grandma's not the asshole here?

[01:26:39] Well, I mean, it's the.

[01:26:40] I think Grandma's losing her mind.

[01:26:42] She just needs.

[01:26:43] She's old.

[01:26:44] She is.

[01:26:45] I mean, that's what.

[01:26:46] That's a part of.

[01:26:47] You know, she's just being old.

[01:26:49] And can we blame her?

[01:26:52] Yes.

[01:26:53] What's the joke?

[01:26:54] It's like Grandpa's racism gets harder to pass every year.

[01:26:57] Whatever.

[01:26:58] Or like the excuse.

[01:26:59] You're like, Grandpa, Thanksgiving's getting real hard every year.

[01:27:06] Yeah.

[01:27:08] Go do what you want, girl.

[01:27:09] Go do something.

[01:27:10] Yeah.

[01:27:10] Hit up that Applebee's.

[01:27:11] Find the Jester.

[01:27:12] Yeah.

[01:27:12] Take him home.

[01:27:14] Yeah.

[01:27:14] Take the Jester home.

[01:27:15] Watch the room.

[01:27:18] All right, Nave, you got an asshole?

[01:27:21] Do you want me to do one or do you want to just move on?

[01:27:23] We're going to move on.

[01:27:23] We are getting late.

[01:27:25] And don't want to keep our guests too long.

[01:27:28] All right.

[01:27:28] Let's take a quick break and then we'll come back with a review.

[01:27:31] Music plays.

[01:27:31] Boom, boom, boom, boom.

[01:27:33] We're going to get back to play.

[01:27:35] Yeah, I'm going to go.

[01:27:38] Philip, did you see that fucking thing that I drew?

[01:27:41] That like very schizophrenic looking thing.

[01:27:46] I had Rachel sit down and I was trying to explain to her.

[01:27:49] Oh, your stupid black hole theory.

[01:27:51] Yeah.

[01:27:51] Dude, it's not my black hole theory.

[01:27:54] It's a real thing.

[01:27:55] Hold on.

[01:27:55] Let me copy it.

[01:27:56] It's a real thing.

[01:27:58] This is really a 2D representation of a black hole.

[01:28:02] And trying to, here, I'm going to put it in the, look at this.

[01:28:06] I just look at this in awe.

[01:28:08] Like, I'm like, this is scary.

[01:28:10] Like, this is something from Resident Evil.

[01:28:12] Like, this is like a note.

[01:28:14] No, they literally did this in the stupid Marvel movies when they explained the Tesseract.

[01:28:18] These are the same drawings.

[01:28:21] Is it?

[01:28:21] Is that the, this is like something written on the wall in Dead Space.

[01:28:27] I can explain all of this.

[01:28:29] Wait.

[01:28:30] You played Tunic, this would make a lot more sense.

[01:28:32] Is this like Dune stuff?

[01:28:33] No, it says space.

[01:28:35] Like, here's where the spice comes from.

[01:28:38] That thing is, that thing right there is like a fucking X and Y axis graph.

[01:28:42] And then the future is that, that cone, 45 degree cone going forward.

[01:28:47] And the past is the one going backwards.

[01:28:49] Because that's how, it's a 2D representation of space time.

[01:28:52] And our experience in it.

[01:28:54] Right?

[01:28:55] And then that cone is important for the thing on the bottom of the page.

[01:28:58] Where the black hole and the white hole exist.

[01:29:00] You're really going to piss off all the religious people, aren't you?

[01:29:04] Is this bad?

[01:29:05] I don't know if this has anything to do with religion.

[01:29:08] Oh my god, come on.

[01:29:09] This is just, this is like talking about like alternate dimensions and stuff.

[01:29:12] I don't know.

[01:29:13] But after I was, after I was done talking about it and I looked at it for a second, I was like,

[01:29:18] oh, this is scary.

[01:29:19] I'm really going off the deep end.

[01:29:21] And I'm pretty sure on the left page, it looks like that's the instructions to make an origami crane.

[01:29:27] It does look like an origami.

[01:29:28] I mean, like.

[01:29:30] But no, that's basically using the chart on the bottom of the right page.

[01:29:35] That's basically using it to show what an alternate dimension looks like.

[01:29:41] And how you would get through it with wormholes and stuff.

[01:29:45] Because you know, everyone knows black holes are spinning.

[01:29:48] No, I didn't.

[01:29:49] It's a common knowledge.

[01:29:51] Well, black holes are made from stars.

[01:29:54] Don't give me your.

[01:29:55] When the stars blow up.

[01:29:56] What's his name?

[01:29:57] The conservation of matter.

[01:29:58] You're going to be here for several hours if you let him keep going.

[01:30:01] Look, I love that popular science guy that goes on the weed guys thing.

[01:30:05] The UFC guy.

[01:30:06] What was it?

[01:30:08] Oh, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Joe Rogan.

[01:30:11] So you're talking to Joe Rogan.

[01:30:12] I love that.

[01:30:13] The weed guy.

[01:30:15] Yeah.

[01:30:16] But let's not get into it.

[01:30:17] We're going to talk about poker.

[01:30:19] Specifically, Bellatro.

[01:30:20] The poker roguelike.

[01:30:22] Blatro is hypnotically satisfying deck builder where you play illegal poker hands, discover game-changing jokers, and trigger adrenaline-pumping outrageous combos.

[01:30:35] Overwhelmingly positive on Steam.

[01:30:38] Released February 20th, 2024.

[01:30:40] Developed by LocalThunk and PlayStack.

[01:30:44] The Metaverse.

[01:30:46] Not Metaverse.

[01:30:47] Damn it.

[01:30:48] The...

[01:30:48] I see someone put in the Metacritic, which this is sitting at an insane 90 for the critic review.

[01:30:56] Yeah.

[01:30:57] And 8.4 for users.

[01:31:01] This is a very well-received game.

[01:31:05] Very popular.

[01:31:06] I didn't believe in it when I first saw it.

[01:31:11] I didn't trust people.

[01:31:12] What was that, Philip?

[01:31:12] The door.

[01:31:13] I think the air made the door close.

[01:31:17] Yeah.

[01:31:18] See, there's like the shining.

[01:31:21] Just the...

[01:31:22] It's that red fair jester coming to get you.

[01:31:24] I just heard the sound and Philip instantly turns to the side, like, with fear in his eyes.

[01:31:30] I mean, Jana's already coming to me.

[01:31:31] She's like, so, I know this sounds like the wife talking to the husband and he doesn't believe her.

[01:31:35] But this house seems to have some spectral entities about it.

[01:31:41] And I'm like, did you sage the house?

[01:31:43] And she's like, no, I haven't saged the house.

[01:31:47] You're supposed to do that before you bring anything in.

[01:31:50] Oh, God.

[01:31:50] We're too late.

[01:31:50] Yeah, that's bad juju.

[01:31:51] You're way too late for that.

[01:31:53] You gotta put rosemary and thyme on the roof above the door.

[01:31:59] Yeah, and then you can have the crucifix of lots of garlic for the vampires.

[01:32:03] Well, you're supposed to paint the roof blue, actually, I think.

[01:32:06] That's a thing.

[01:32:08] Well, how are they gonna find their house?

[01:32:09] All of Alaska is white and blue.

[01:32:11] The ghosts can't find it.

[01:32:13] Oh, fuck, you're right.

[01:32:14] They can't see it to get in.

[01:32:15] It looks like the sky.

[01:32:17] I see it.

[01:32:18] You know, sometimes you just talk without thinking.

[01:32:20] All right, but Blatro.

[01:32:21] Are you talking about spice rack type stuff, where I have to go to the spice rack and shake

[01:32:25] it around the house with rosemary and thyme, or is it something else?

[01:32:27] Yeah, pretty much.

[01:32:28] I don't know ghost stuff very well.

[01:32:30] So, you know...

[01:32:30] I don't know.

[01:32:31] I made that up.

[01:32:31] I don't know what I was saying.

[01:32:33] That's totally a thing.

[01:32:34] Everything I say is a real thing.

[01:32:37] Okay.

[01:32:38] People really paint their house the roof blue to prevent spirits from entering.

[01:32:43] It is actually a thing.

[01:32:45] Is it?

[01:32:45] Yes.

[01:32:47] Well, see, the reason why is because blue is a really small light wavelength.

[01:32:51] So, it really messes with the...

[01:32:54] It's getting close to ultraviolet.

[01:32:56] I actually love...

[01:32:56] The saging the house...

[01:32:58] What's up?

[01:32:59] Yeah, like you're not...

[01:33:00] You are supposed to do it before you bring anything in because, like, it's...

[01:33:04] Saging is supposed to, like, take away everything.

[01:33:07] Like, all the...

[01:33:09] All the bad.

[01:33:10] And if you're already bringing stuff in, you can't, like, sage that shit.

[01:33:13] You know?

[01:33:14] Yeah, it's like bed bugs.

[01:33:16] Yeah.

[01:33:16] Exactly.

[01:33:17] I like, um...

[01:33:18] What is the, um...

[01:33:19] The EMF readers?

[01:33:21] Or electromagnetic frequency readers or whatever?

[01:33:23] When they...

[01:33:24] You gotta break those out.

[01:33:25] You gotta start scanning things.

[01:33:27] Like, oh man, these copper pipes over by the heater.

[01:33:30] They are blowing up this, you know...

[01:33:32] This magnetic radiation.

[01:33:34] This circuit box over here?

[01:33:36] Huge radiation spikes.

[01:33:39] I like the thing where they get the two, like, Allen wrenches and they, like, walk around with them to see it.

[01:33:44] Oh!

[01:33:45] God, what is this called?

[01:33:46] Did J.P. ever tell you that he believes in, um...

[01:33:50] What's it called?

[01:33:51] Uh...

[01:33:52] Where you take, like, the reverse tuning fork to find water?

[01:33:58] What?

[01:33:59] Jake, you're older.

[01:34:01] What is this?

[01:34:01] I think you probably know what this is called.

[01:34:03] Yeah, I know...

[01:34:04] The...

[01:34:05] Dowsing rod.

[01:34:06] The dowsing rod.

[01:34:06] That's what it is.

[01:34:07] Friend of the pod, J.P.

[01:34:08] He's been on multiple times.

[01:34:09] Damn, I am old.

[01:34:10] Fuck.

[01:34:11] I'm glad you could think of dowsing rod, because all I could think was sounding rod, and that

[01:34:15] is very different.

[01:34:17] Please stop.

[01:34:18] I'm sorry.

[01:34:19] But he is a firm believer that you can feel the water underneath the ground with a dowsing

[01:34:25] rod.

[01:34:27] And I'm like...

[01:34:29] Yo, look at this...

[01:34:30] Did you look up?

[01:34:32] Hold on.

[01:34:33] I'm looking at it, yeah.

[01:34:34] Hold on.

[01:34:35] I'm going to put it right underneath the Metacritic, right here.

[01:34:38] Look at this guy.

[01:34:39] That's it!

[01:34:40] With the...

[01:34:44] That's amazing.

[01:34:45] All right.

[01:34:45] I love this guy.

[01:34:46] Now, let's dows some cards and talk about Blatro.

[01:34:49] Like we said, this game, wildly well-received, indie title.

[01:34:54] I heard about it, and I initially thought it was inscription whenever I started playing

[01:35:00] it, but, you know, it's a different card-related game.

[01:35:04] And when I first picked it up, I was actually not impressed, because I thought it was too

[01:35:08] simple and didn't really like the art style.

[01:35:11] But we'll get into what happens after you keep playing it.

[01:35:14] Other first impressions or preconceptions?

[01:35:18] I was also pretty middling on it.

[01:35:20] I thought...

[01:35:21] I keep saying this, but long-time listeners will remember me saying this as well, like

[01:35:25] where I was like, I don't see the appeal.

[01:35:27] I played it for a little bit.

[01:35:29] I won like two matches, and I was like, okay, yeah, this is fine.

[01:35:33] And it really is a game that kind of brain worms itself into you.

[01:35:37] Like, you just got to keep playing it, and eventually it's...

[01:35:41] I don't know.

[01:35:42] I think it's the drip feed.

[01:35:44] You know, the drip feed of extra content is really effective in this game, especially

[01:35:49] with how simple it is.

[01:35:50] And so it's deceptive how addicting it is.

[01:35:52] Jake, preconceptions?

[01:35:54] First impressions?

[01:35:56] Yeah, when I first checked it out, because again, like you guys, I saw wild critical

[01:36:00] acclaim, and I was trying to figure out why.

[01:36:02] I mean, the game is like 30 megs.

[01:36:04] It's super tiny.

[01:36:05] But when I started playing it, and I saw the booster packs, and opened the booster

[01:36:10] packs for the first time, my first thought was, thank God there's no microtransactions

[01:36:14] in this game, because I'd be broke.

[01:36:17] Because, like, the creator, I found out later, is very much anti-microtransactions and anti-gambling,

[01:36:23] right?

[01:36:24] Galatro, even though it has themes of poker, it's completely not what you think it is.

[01:36:28] And that was pretty eye-opening for me.

[01:36:30] Rachel?

[01:36:32] I know, the first time I saw this, it was before I actually moved here, and me and

[01:36:38] Nave were, like, video chatting.

[01:36:40] And he's just like, he put his phone facing the TV and was just making me watch him play

[01:36:46] this instead of just, like, screaming it so I could watch it that way.

[01:36:49] A man of romance.

[01:36:50] I can tell.

[01:36:51] And so, I'm just like, we're just, you know, doing our own thing on the phone, and he's

[01:36:57] just like, did you see that shit?

[01:36:58] And I'm like, I have no idea what you're doing.

[01:37:01] I don't understand anything that's happening on your screen.

[01:37:05] But yeah, super cool.

[01:37:08] But I played it.

[01:37:10] I played it some.

[01:37:11] I played it, and I was like, wow, I can see myself getting very addicted to this, because

[01:37:17] like, I just want to unlock everything.

[01:37:19] I really like unlocking things.

[01:37:22] It's very satisfying.

[01:37:24] Yeah.

[01:37:24] I think the problem with this game for me, like, especially at the beginning, was that

[01:37:29] vampire survivors got to me first.

[01:37:32] And so, it's the same addictiveness of vampire survivors.

[01:37:37] So, if you're really into that, you're going to be into this.

[01:37:39] But it's like, I did have a low tolerance for, like, similar feelings.

[01:37:45] I jump around different experiences all the time.

[01:37:48] So, it's like, okay, I've played a shooter, now I need to play a horror game, now I need

[01:37:51] to play a rhythm game.

[01:37:52] I don't know why I'm like this.

[01:37:54] But I needed to sit on Bellatro for a little bit longer before I started to really enjoy

[01:37:59] it.

[01:37:59] Now, for the Lister Zone, let's explain what you do in Bellatro.

[01:38:02] It is a roguelike deck builder.

[01:38:05] So, you pick a bunch of kind of pre-constructed base decks.

[01:38:09] They usually have, like, one or two traits that make them special, such as you have a deck

[01:38:14] of 52 cards, like a normal Trump deck, I guess we're playing.

[01:38:18] Whatever the default name is.

[01:38:20] But they remove all the face cards, so you're only playing ace through 10, or something

[01:38:24] like that.

[01:38:25] And then you've got to make poker hands, such as flushes, straights, high card, four of a

[01:38:30] kind, all that bullshit.

[01:38:32] But what really makes it special is the deck building aspect.

[01:38:35] You can get modifiers, such as jokers, where clubs give you three times the points, or something

[01:38:42] like that.

[01:38:43] Or, that's a very simple, common one.

[01:38:45] There's a lot more advanced ones where it's, you have a one in four chance when you play

[01:38:50] a heart card to multiply your current multiplier by .25, or some, you know, ridiculous bullshit

[01:38:56] like that.

[01:38:57] So it gets wild very fast, where at the same time, you're collecting tarot cards and planetary

[01:39:04] cards that also change your scoring rates, or change your cards in your hand, or in your

[01:39:11] deck.

[01:39:12] So, you have to beat certain score points, and there's always a boss blind in each, I forgot

[01:39:20] what they call them.

[01:39:21] Is it an anti?

[01:39:23] Anti.

[01:39:23] Yeah.

[01:39:23] Antis.

[01:39:24] Antis are the rounds.

[01:39:25] Antis.

[01:39:25] So each anti-round, there's a boss blind, which has a modifier such as, you can only play

[01:39:31] one hand.

[01:39:32] Or you can only play...

[01:39:34] The needle.

[01:39:35] The needle.

[01:39:36] Or the wall, which is just like a very high amount of points required.

[01:39:41] And you can only play a certain number of hands.

[01:39:44] And that's where I feel like it gets really interesting, is you go in there, and I think

[01:39:47] the default's like, what, three and three?

[01:39:49] Where you can discard up to five cards like three times, and you get to play like three

[01:39:53] hands to score points.

[01:39:56] But there's a way to get more hands and more discards, where it's weird so we're going

[01:39:59] to be like, alright, I know I just want to get four of a kind, or something like that.

[01:40:03] So I'll just do three discards until I eventually get four of a kind.

[01:40:06] Which, of course, you're never going to do in an actual Texas Hold'em or anything

[01:40:10] like that.

[01:40:10] But that's just not how those games work.

[01:40:12] But being able to play on your knowledge of poker hands, and then it becomes just

[01:40:18] a game of probabilities where it's like, I know I have two aces in the last remaining

[01:40:25] 24 cards in my deck.

[01:40:27] I have one more discard.

[01:40:30] I just need one of those aces.

[01:40:32] And then you start doing the math in your head, you're like, I can get this ace.

[01:40:35] I can totally do it.

[01:40:36] And then you do it and you don't get it.

[01:40:38] And now you're like a thousand points short of your score and your run is over.

[01:40:43] All right, then.

[01:40:44] Start a new one.

[01:40:46] Yeah.

[01:40:46] But that is the whole game.

[01:40:48] And every time you basically complete a run or do something significant in that run,

[01:40:52] such as getting, you know, out of your 52 cards, half of them become clubs or something

[01:40:58] like that.

[01:40:58] You unlock a new card that's like, clubs do an extra special thing that they couldn't

[01:41:03] do before.

[01:41:03] And you have a chance of getting that card as a joker in your next run.

[01:41:08] And that's the game.

[01:41:10] Wash, rinse, repeat.

[01:41:12] Yeah.

[01:41:13] And there's 150 jokers to unlock in this game, which is just wild.

[01:41:18] And there's other types of cards besides tarots and planetary cards, spectral cards, which you

[01:41:23] unlock after you've played for a dozen hours.

[01:41:25] Like this is the game.

[01:41:27] Again, I can see when you say comparing it to vampire survivors, this is the game that

[01:41:30] keeps on giving you unlocks and stuff to find the, the, the extra decks that you mentioned.

[01:41:35] I didn't start getting those until I was already 20 hours deep.

[01:41:39] I was just playing the first day.

[01:41:40] Oh, really?

[01:41:40] And then I realized that how many decks there are and how many levels of difficulty there

[01:41:45] are to unlock more stuff.

[01:41:46] This game just never ends.

[01:41:48] It's just a constant stream of stuff to unlock if you're into it.

[01:41:51] There's a one type of passive item called vouchers that you can buy for, for a run.

[01:41:56] And they do something pretty significant, like give you an extra discard or, you know, give

[01:42:00] you a free, a reroll of the shop.

[01:42:02] But what I didn't realize until many hours later, a lot of the vouchers have tiers.

[01:42:07] And once you buy it once and then buy it a second time, you unlock a special third tier

[01:42:11] for the rest of your runs in the future.

[01:42:13] And those third tiers are pretty game breaking in terms of what they do.

[01:42:16] And that's what this game is to me is that it's the game of finding ways to break the

[01:42:20] deck.

[01:42:21] And that's what I love the most about it.

[01:42:22] Right?

[01:42:23] Like you mentioned looking at aces and counting the odds of aces.

[01:42:26] You can skew the odds by using the tarot cards to change like your twos and threes into aces.

[01:42:32] You clone cards.

[01:42:33] You can then pump up your aces to be like, you know, steel cards.

[01:42:37] They multiply on themselves and all kinds of wild stuff.

[01:42:40] By the end of certain, certain runs, I had like 20 aces in my deck.

[01:42:44] It was just, it was stupidly, it was fun breaking the rules of poker.

[01:42:49] So it doesn't matter anymore.

[01:42:50] Right?

[01:42:50] Like when you, you, if you don't know poker hands very well, like I don't really know the

[01:42:54] hands that well.

[01:42:55] All right.

[01:42:55] Obviously I know we're all flushes great, but nobody gets those, but the planetary cards

[01:42:59] let you change the score value of certain hands.

[01:43:02] So when I realized that could pump up the value of three of a kind to whatever I want with

[01:43:06] planetary cards, I was just focused on three of a kind and I was having the best runs

[01:43:10] of my life in this game just on threes.

[01:43:12] And I thought it was hilarious.

[01:43:14] Breaking the game is so fun in this.

[01:43:16] Yeah.

[01:43:16] And I think that one, another thing that you can do is you can, you can even like use

[01:43:20] some tarot cards to get rid of cards.

[01:43:22] Like you can start getting rid of you.

[01:43:25] So there are some jokers that are like, if you don't play face cards, you get like four

[01:43:29] times bonus or whatever.

[01:43:30] And it's like, you can get, start getting rid of your, your higher scoring face cards so

[01:43:35] that you get bigger multipliers during your, whatever random things you're doing.

[01:43:39] And so I think that the, the most engaging part of the game is just the random, the RNG

[01:43:46] with all of the jokers and just trying to make something like, like duct tape something together.

[01:43:53] Make it work.

[01:43:54] You know, on the fly.

[01:43:57] That's, that was the phrase I was looking for.

[01:43:59] All right.

[01:43:59] So I grabbed a bunch of steam reviews and it looks like you grabbed some too.

[01:44:02] I think, I don't know.

[01:44:03] I don't remember them being this many.

[01:44:05] Yeah.

[01:44:05] So I figured these could be good conversation topic starters because, uh, we could always

[01:44:10] go, we could go all day talking about like, Oh man, did you get the bus?

[01:44:14] You, once you get the bus and then you start running the twos, you got the, the, I can do

[01:44:19] that all day, but I thought these could be good.

[01:44:21] Uh, like talking point starters.

[01:44:23] Maybe you want to read this first one.

[01:44:27] This is, it's a big, uh, from miss cupcakes with 175 hours on, uh, on record here says I'm

[01:44:36] planetary.

[01:44:37] Hold on.

[01:44:38] I'm planetary, man.

[01:44:40] I'm smoking that mega arcana pack.

[01:44:42] I can't stop.

[01:44:44] These spade flushes hit so erroneous.

[01:44:46] I had to get wrathful Joker on that mother Joker.

[01:44:50] They fit.

[01:44:50] They forgot.

[01:44:51] I'm her.

[01:44:52] I'm hearts maxing and blueprint pill.

[01:44:55] I ain't never going back.

[01:44:56] I sold Jupiter to myself.

[01:44:59] I'm hitting that ACE flush.

[01:45:01] So horrendous.

[01:45:02] The hand looked like a scientific notation.

[01:45:04] They got polychromic, man.

[01:45:08] They will not find me.

[01:45:10] These cards don't mean nothing to me, man.

[01:45:13] Slurping that negative blueprint Joker behind that orange steak.

[01:45:17] Yep.

[01:45:18] That is a, uh, Dracula.

[01:45:20] Was it?

[01:45:22] Dracula flow reference.

[01:45:23] Yeah.

[01:45:24] Which is crazy.

[01:45:24] Cause I brought up Vitruvian man, which one of those best lines is he got, I get, I got

[01:45:30] that Vitruvian man flexibility.

[01:45:32] This shit don't mean nothing to me.

[01:45:34] It's fucking.

[01:45:35] So stupid.

[01:45:35] I love.

[01:45:36] Have you seen Dracula flow, Jake?

[01:45:39] I don't think so.

[01:45:40] I don't know.

[01:45:41] Like last week I walked into work and literally the first thing I heard was someone talking

[01:45:46] about Dracula, Dracula flow.

[01:45:48] And I was like, I'm just going to leave guys.

[01:45:50] I got to go.

[01:45:51] I don't want to work here anymore.

[01:45:53] That are unfamiliar.

[01:45:54] The stupidest thing.

[01:45:55] Dracula flow is this grandpa where they just, they just got him saying this most obscene

[01:46:00] shit.

[01:46:04] And he just says it with such delivery.

[01:46:05] He says it so passionately.

[01:46:07] It's so good.

[01:46:08] But once again, it is nonsense.

[01:46:10] What are you saying?

[01:46:11] Like is slang that doesn't exist?

[01:46:13] I don't think.

[01:46:14] Yeah.

[01:46:15] He's from the future.

[01:46:16] But he's also a Dracula at the same time.

[01:46:19] Yeah.

[01:46:22] So he was there at Manamusa with Gilgamesh smoking that Wub Dove.

[01:46:27] Yeah.

[01:46:28] He pushed a camel through the eye of a needle.

[01:46:30] He's that kind of guy.

[01:46:32] He's him.

[01:46:34] All right.

[01:46:34] I got this next one.

[01:46:35] This is from Gappy with 36 hours on record.

[01:46:38] It says, I hate it when popular highly rated stuff is actually good.

[01:46:42] Same.

[01:46:43] The contrarian in me cannot die.

[01:46:45] Like every time I see, like we talked about Dunkey earlier.

[01:46:48] Any time Dunkey like covers something, like he covers like the new Dragon Ball.

[01:46:51] I'm like, I don't even want to talk about Dragon Ball anymore.

[01:46:54] You know, I'm just anti whatever's popular.

[01:46:57] And it's just a me thing.

[01:46:59] But it's like this Blotro's popular.

[01:47:01] I want to talk about Bust a Move 2 or something.

[01:47:05] You know, like I want to talk about Bubble Bobble.

[01:47:10] Fucking Bubble Bobble.

[01:47:12] I want to talk about things that aren't popular.

[01:47:14] But here we are doing a whole episode on Blotro.

[01:47:18] Oh, do you guys get that feeling?

[01:47:21] Dude, I live there.

[01:47:23] Right now, my, my, my, I'm on a fucking crusade in Madden Commander against.

[01:47:29] So on this, there's a website, EDH rec, which is like the biggest magic website.

[01:47:33] And you can see all the most popular commanders.

[01:47:35] And I spit on people when I see someone playing a commander that's in the top 200.

[01:47:40] Did you have 200?

[01:47:41] That's so many cards.

[01:47:42] Yeah, those are, ugh, disgusting.

[01:47:45] Like, I'm playing.

[01:47:46] He like says that, but then you look at his 99 and it's just like.

[01:47:51] It's all those cards.

[01:47:51] Full of the most like sought after cards that everyone is looking for.

[01:47:57] And I know this because I sell them.

[01:47:59] And then he's like, nah, it's super unique.

[01:48:01] And I'm like, okay.

[01:48:03] 196 right there.

[01:48:04] You can be slapping around people.

[01:48:06] Yeah.

[01:48:07] All right.

[01:48:08] Well, that's the thing with Blotro is that you, there's no such thing as like a meta deck

[01:48:12] in Blotro because it's all random.

[01:48:14] It's a roguelike, right?

[01:48:15] Every time you play, that's why it's fun.

[01:48:17] It's like, you have to approach it from a different angle.

[01:48:20] For me, I think when I, it was very popular when it first came out and I, I put a, put a

[01:48:25] lot of time into it.

[01:48:26] Some of my fellow co-hosts over my podcast put hundreds of hours in this damn game to get

[01:48:30] all the Chivos.

[01:48:31] But my thing was, I would have liked it more if it was on mobile.

[01:48:35] If I could play this on the bus commuting or something, I would like it a lot more.

[01:48:39] And sure enough, it just came out of mobile and I've already got 10 hours of the day.

[01:48:43] Like it's, it's going to, it's going to consume my commutient.

[01:48:46] That was it for me on this trip.

[01:48:48] I saw that it popped up on Apple, uh, arcade pass or whatever that bullshit is called that

[01:48:54] we have because we have, I don't know, Verizon.

[01:48:56] I don't even know our phone company, T-Mobile, something, whatever.

[01:48:59] Like for some reason we get it and I'm like a game I actually want to play finally.

[01:49:05] So that's the way I've been playing it.

[01:49:06] This whole trip driving from Texas to Alaska was I've been just playing Blotro every single

[01:49:11] day, just grinding out.

[01:49:13] You can play it offline.

[01:49:15] It has cloud saves, but it'll just update when you reconnect.

[01:49:17] No big deal.

[01:49:19] Uh, the it's touch enabled.

[01:49:22] I don't know what the Xbox version is like or the PC version, but the Apple arcade version

[01:49:27] just works really well with the touch controls.

[01:49:31] Yeah.

[01:49:32] I played on the steam deck.

[01:49:34] So the PC version and it had native touch support on the steam deck.

[01:49:37] And that's how I mostly played it.

[01:49:39] Yeah.

[01:49:39] When I, I just got my steam deck this year and the month later Blotro and I was playing

[01:49:44] Blotro and vampire survivors the most on the goddamn steam deck.

[01:49:47] That's what I was playing the most.

[01:49:48] That it needs.

[01:49:49] Yeah.

[01:49:51] For Blotro.

[01:49:52] But the touch screen is definitely the way to play this game.

[01:49:54] Okay.

[01:49:55] I did want to highlight like it had been on Apple pass.

[01:49:57] Or whatever for like two days and they put it, put out an update and it made it so I

[01:50:03] could not listen to podcasts and play the game at the same time because it would turn

[01:50:07] off my podcast.

[01:50:08] Like games like Genshin impact do this.

[01:50:10] Apple is notorious for their audio priority issues where you can't be like, Oh, I want

[01:50:14] to play Genshin and listen to a podcast at the same time.

[01:50:17] It instantly turns off your podcast.

[01:50:19] If you open Genshin, like Android users, they're sitting pretty with their media managers and

[01:50:24] all that stuff, you know, but Apple.

[01:50:26] Yeah.

[01:50:27] But then sometimes I'll be like listening to a YouTube video and I'll scroll past something

[01:50:31] on Twitter and that's audio starts playing.

[01:50:33] And I'm like, Oh God, like my eyes get crossed because I got a bunch of fucking talking happening

[01:50:37] suddenly.

[01:50:38] Yeah.

[01:50:38] But I joined the discord whenever I noticed this issue, cause I was furious that they would

[01:50:44] do this to me.

[01:50:45] So I went into it.

[01:50:47] They have a bug reporting thing.

[01:50:49] And I was like, Hey, this is, this is broken today.

[01:50:52] Like in the last, like two hours, this broke and they were like, Oh, okay.

[01:50:57] And then within that day, they already replied to me.

[01:51:00] They said they were going to fix it in the next patch.

[01:51:02] Two days later, it was fixed.

[01:51:04] And I was like, this is incredible.

[01:51:07] Like I literally really had that talk to the industry.

[01:51:09] Like this is the fastest bug fix from a dev I've ever firsthand seen.

[01:51:13] Then again, I don't report bugs very often, but they did it.

[01:51:18] And I was also the first one to complain about this, which feels kind of bad too, that I

[01:51:22] was that angry.

[01:51:27] Ignore this iPhone user at your peril.

[01:51:29] Fix this bug, please.

[01:51:31] It's you know what though?

[01:51:32] This is a single dev dev who made this game.

[01:51:35] And I think from his point of view, he just won the lottery, right?

[01:51:39] Right.

[01:51:39] To get a game like this, your first game, you made it yourself over X number years on

[01:51:44] just as you're going and it's sold, sold this well, reviewed.

[01:51:47] This well, I can't even remember how many copies it sold, but he won the lottery as a single

[01:51:52] per a single any dev.

[01:51:53] So for him, the passion he has for when you see him doing the update tweets, like talking

[01:51:59] about the changes he's making, even if it is just bug fixes, he's happy to do it because

[01:52:03] he's made so many people happy with this one game and he's made so much goddamn money off

[01:52:08] this game.

[01:52:08] Like it's wild how popular it is.

[01:52:10] It's like the Valheim guys, the guys who make Valheim, they're set for life.

[01:52:14] They don't have to finish the game if they don't want to.

[01:52:16] They do it because they like it.

[01:52:17] Or to make somebody, to make some of our listeners mad.

[01:52:21] What is that?

[01:52:21] A Star Citizen?

[01:52:23] We don't talk about that.

[01:52:24] We don't need money, right?

[01:52:26] They're not running out, right?

[01:52:27] We hear all the time on one of our group chats.

[01:52:31] They're always complaining about Star Citizen in there.

[01:52:34] All right.

[01:52:34] So we're...

[01:52:35] But yeah, that's another one for one almost with Vampire Survivors because I think that's

[01:52:40] also a single person.

[01:52:42] Yeah.

[01:52:43] Like just making something super cool and like that in Vampire Survivors is nuts because

[01:52:48] it's like three bucks.

[01:52:49] I don't know how expensive Bellatra is.

[01:52:51] Like 10 bucks, isn't it?

[01:52:53] Yeah.

[01:52:54] Yeah.

[01:52:54] It's cheap.

[01:52:54] Even on mobile, it was like $12 Canadian on a mobile.

[01:52:57] And I'm normally the type who does not like to pay for games on mobile.

[01:53:01] I don't know.

[01:53:02] I'm kind of stuck in the 2000s with that.

[01:53:04] Like whenever I see Square release a $20 JRPG on Android, I'm like, what the fuck are you

[01:53:08] doing?

[01:53:08] I don't know.

[01:53:09] But Bellatra, instant buy.

[01:53:11] I have...

[01:53:12] Having spent so much time with it on the Steam Deck, it was an instant buy on Android.

[01:53:16] I don't care how much it costs.

[01:53:17] It's easily worth that money.

[01:53:19] All right.

[01:53:19] Our next post is from NG Steve...

[01:53:22] Ingen Stevo with 41 hours and a recommend says,

[01:53:26] Darkest Dungeon is Bellatra for babies.

[01:53:29] All right.

[01:53:30] True.

[01:53:32] Darkest Dungeon is famously a punishing roguelike.

[01:53:35] Bellatra is also very punishing.

[01:53:38] You know how many runs I failed by doing the blind skips?

[01:53:41] Like just in the first ante where I'm like, I could do a double blind skip on the first

[01:53:45] round.

[01:53:46] Like it'll be worth it.

[01:53:48] And I don't make it past the first boss.

[01:53:52] I don't think I'm ever...

[01:53:53] I'm always fine with it until I get the wall.

[01:53:55] If the boss blind is the wall, I just give up.

[01:53:58] Because like just if you don't have the right deck and the right amount of cards and combos

[01:54:01] ready for the wall where the cost to beat it is like, was it like triple or quadruple

[01:54:05] the normal?

[01:54:06] Yeah.

[01:54:07] That's the run breaker for me is the wall.

[01:54:09] I usually...

[01:54:10] I tell Rachel...

[01:54:11] Or I told Rachel that like eventually after you get used to like a lot of the different

[01:54:17] like styles of decks that you can build in this game, you'll understand at some point

[01:54:21] in the run, I might as well restart.

[01:54:23] This is dead.

[01:54:24] This is not worth going all the way through.

[01:54:26] Mine was usually the needle.

[01:54:28] I think it's just because my...

[01:54:29] The way that I build decks sometimes is just like so accumulative that I'm never like bursting

[01:54:36] down right at the beginning.

[01:54:37] I...

[01:54:38] If there's a...

[01:54:38] Once I get to the needle, I'm like, fuck.

[01:54:39] I don't know if I can get through that.

[01:54:41] That's a...

[01:54:42] That's a really tough one for me.

[01:54:43] The needle and the one where it says you...

[01:54:45] I think it's like the magician where you can't repeat a hand or something like that.

[01:54:51] Oh, dude!

[01:54:52] That one's rough.

[01:54:52] That one's killed me a lot too.

[01:54:53] If I'm running like full flushes, then I'm like, well, I guess I'm just not gonna make

[01:54:58] it.

[01:54:58] Or if I'm like doing only straights or something.

[01:55:02] Yeah.

[01:55:03] All right.

[01:55:03] Next up, this is two bowls with 200 hours on record and the recommend that says one in

[01:55:10] four my ass.

[01:55:11] And he's referring to the wheel of fortune tarot card, which has a one in four chance of

[01:55:17] giving you a significant buff.

[01:55:20] The card is cheap.

[01:55:21] Usually I think it's like $3 in the store or something like that.

[01:55:24] Or it's part of a tarot pack.

[01:55:26] It's a very easy pick because you're like, if I get this, this will be fantastic.

[01:55:30] But you only have a one in four chance.

[01:55:32] I get wheel of fortune every time.

[01:55:33] It never works.

[01:55:34] Dude.

[01:55:35] It never fucking works, man.

[01:55:37] It's bullshit.

[01:55:38] It's a lie.

[01:55:38] It feels like an anti-gambling card or something.

[01:55:40] Because like, it just...

[01:55:42] It punishes you.

[01:55:43] Yeah.

[01:55:44] There's a spectral card I think that can modify the chance of those things happening.

[01:55:48] And I think I had it pop a lot when I did that.

[01:55:51] But it's a lot of work to get it to work.

[01:55:52] And it's not the early game win that you think it might be.

[01:55:56] I got that spectra card too where it's like, if it makes it one less or one...

[01:56:02] Yeah.

[01:56:02] Yeah, one less.

[01:56:03] So if it's a one in four, it'll be a one in three.

[01:56:05] Or if it's a one in two, it'll be a one in one, which is something that happened to me.

[01:56:08] I had a joker.

[01:56:09] That was like one in two chance of this cool thing happening.

[01:56:13] And then I made it one in one.

[01:56:14] And I was like, oh my god, I'm cooking.

[01:56:16] I'm cooking now.

[01:56:19] Yeah.

[01:56:20] Yeah.

[01:56:20] That's very fun.

[01:56:21] There's a lot of odd based ones too that are like that.

[01:56:24] Like the lucky cards.

[01:56:26] They're just...

[01:56:27] It's like a one in 20 chance of getting $20 or a one...

[01:56:32] Yeah.

[01:56:33] It's just like random stuff on these lucky cards.

[01:56:35] Or I guess we didn't even talk about the card types.

[01:56:38] Because there's like lucky cards.

[01:56:39] There's multiplier cards.

[01:56:41] Just add multiplayer.

[01:56:44] There's shiny cards.

[01:56:45] Wild card is all...

[01:56:48] Yeah.

[01:56:49] Glass cards.

[01:56:51] Holographic and foil.

[01:56:52] Those are two different things.

[01:56:53] Which is wild if you do that.

[01:56:55] But you get a really good bonus if you use them.

[01:56:57] I like both ones.

[01:56:58] They fucking always break.

[01:56:59] They always break.

[01:57:00] So there's so many crazy cards.

[01:57:02] The stone cards.

[01:57:03] Which is literally just a blank slate of stone you add to your deck.

[01:57:06] But there's jokers that interact with stone cards that can really be broken combos if you commit to it.

[01:57:12] Just a lot of avenues.

[01:57:13] Alright.

[01:57:14] Next one.

[01:57:15] This is from a crying face.

[01:57:18] Or I guess that looks like the face from the Jibbles movie.

[01:57:23] Yeah.

[01:57:24] The no face.

[01:57:25] It is open parentheses semicolon underscore semicolon closed parentheses.

[01:57:31] 12 hours on record says my hand looks like this.

[01:57:35] And I think it's a joker card.

[01:57:36] It's really small.

[01:57:37] So hers can look like this.

[01:57:38] And it's the fancy nails.

[01:57:40] And then under it says I lost everything.

[01:57:42] You lose a lot in this game.

[01:57:45] Like I don't know about you guys.

[01:57:46] I haven't beat it yet.

[01:57:48] I have six hours.

[01:57:49] And I haven't beat a single run.

[01:57:51] It's the...

[01:57:52] It's...

[01:57:52] It's...

[01:57:53] Devastating.

[01:57:54] The binding of Isaac thing.

[01:57:55] Where it's like you're going to lose a lot.

[01:57:57] But when you win it is insane.

[01:58:03] Yeah.

[01:58:03] Well she...

[01:58:04] Rachel's doing the Jake thing where she only used the first deck.

[01:58:08] So I was like...

[01:58:09] She has them all unlocked.

[01:58:11] Like all the normal ones.

[01:58:12] And I was like Rachel you've got to just use the yellow deck.

[01:58:16] Like I promise.

[01:58:16] Yellow deck is easy mode.

[01:58:18] Yeah.

[01:58:18] I don't know.

[01:58:19] I just like...

[01:58:20] I was like...

[01:58:21] My brain was like...

[01:58:22] This was the first deck.

[01:58:23] I got to win with it first.

[01:58:26] And so I just...

[01:58:28] Hyper fixated on winning with the same deck.

[01:58:30] And I just kept fucking like going over and over again.

[01:58:33] And just losing.

[01:58:34] So...

[01:58:35] Yeah.

[01:58:35] Because you do slowly unlock different things.

[01:58:37] And it will...

[01:58:38] You'll get more at your...

[01:58:40] Like in your arsenal.

[01:58:42] Like that...

[01:58:42] Then you can go back and do the other decks.

[01:58:44] And it's a lot easier.

[01:58:46] Right.

[01:58:47] You got to do it worthless man.

[01:58:48] There's no...

[01:58:49] There's no shortcuts.

[01:58:50] You can't do one two until you beat one one.

[01:58:52] You got to run through it.

[01:58:53] But seriously like going up to like...

[01:58:54] Honestly though.

[01:58:55] Play the gold deck.

[01:58:56] The gold deck you'll get your first win within an hour.

[01:58:58] Guaranteed.

[01:58:59] Because it was so much...

[01:59:00] So much easier to play the gold deck.

[01:59:02] But I need to win with the red deck.

[01:59:05] When I was stuck on it.

[01:59:06] Because I was just...

[01:59:07] I was also going back and just like getting the level one win with each one.

[01:59:10] I was on the black deck.

[01:59:12] Forever.

[01:59:14] Like until I finally beat it.

[01:59:15] And that's the one where you get an extra Joker slot.

[01:59:19] Yeah.

[01:59:19] Right.

[01:59:21] There's one that gives you a...

[01:59:23] Was it a telescope card?

[01:59:25] I'm trying to remember what that did.

[01:59:26] There's...

[01:59:26] It was one really broken combo with it.

[01:59:29] There are some decks that are really, really wild.

[01:59:31] I think there's one where it's red and black.

[01:59:33] But it's like spades and hearts.

[01:59:36] So it's just like...

[01:59:37] It's just the two suits.

[01:59:38] And I did some crazy runs with that one as well.

[01:59:40] Like some of the combos really change when you change the deck type.

[01:59:44] It's pretty interesting.

[01:59:45] But I don't think I ever...

[01:59:47] After beating a round.

[01:59:47] Because once you beat a run.

[01:59:49] You can keep going and it gets infinitely harder.

[01:59:52] I never made it past I think 12 rounds.

[01:59:54] I could never get that far.

[01:59:55] I never continue.

[01:59:57] It gets so insane.

[01:59:57] After I win a run.

[01:59:59] I just instantly stop and start a new run.

[02:00:01] Because like what?

[02:00:01] You're crazy.

[02:00:02] I always just got to see.

[02:00:03] I got to see how far I go.

[02:00:05] Look at the Katamari.

[02:00:06] Yeah.

[02:00:06] I did this.

[02:00:07] It's like you get big enough.

[02:00:08] You don't need to go any bigger.

[02:00:11] I think it was Brotato that I would do this in.

[02:00:14] Because in Brotato you can keep going.

[02:00:16] So I'm just like I just want to see how crazy I get.

[02:00:19] Well that's probably why it took me so much longer to fucking beat that game.

[02:00:23] Alright.

[02:00:23] Next up.

[02:00:24] This is from Les Given 59.

[02:00:27] With 32 Hours says.

[02:00:28] If poker is so good.

[02:00:30] Why isn't there a poker too?

[02:00:31] Bellatro.

[02:00:33] This does make normal poker look incredibly lame.

[02:00:36] When you can't get a five card.

[02:00:38] Or five of a kind flush.

[02:00:40] Or whatever with aces.

[02:00:42] Yeah.

[02:00:43] The flush five is one of my favorite new poker hands.

[02:00:49] There's a whole bunch of those too.

[02:00:51] Where it's just like.

[02:00:51] Wow.

[02:00:52] I never thought I'd get five of a kind in a straight.

[02:00:55] Or there's like straight flushes of course.

[02:00:57] Which are normal.

[02:00:58] I don't know.

[02:00:59] It's really funny what they do with the poker trope.

[02:01:03] Well it's really like.

[02:01:05] It's like they combined poker and a slot machine.

[02:01:07] And it's like.

[02:01:08] Oh this is fucking crack.

[02:01:10] This is crack really.

[02:01:11] This is really bad.

[02:01:13] And like I said before.

[02:01:14] The guy who created this game.

[02:01:15] Is very much anti-gambling.

[02:01:17] Right.

[02:01:17] And with the success of this game.

[02:01:19] He actually put a tweet out saying.

[02:01:21] I've actually.

[02:01:22] In my will.

[02:01:23] My estate.

[02:01:25] My family.

[02:01:25] When I'm dead.

[02:01:26] Cannot take the latro.

[02:01:28] The likeness.

[02:01:28] And sell it to a casino.

[02:01:29] You know.

[02:01:30] They're not allowed to use this game.

[02:01:31] In the future.

[02:01:32] For pachinko.

[02:01:33] Or slot machines.

[02:01:34] Or anything like that.

[02:01:35] Because he's had such a hard stance on gambling.

[02:01:37] Which is kind of interesting.

[02:01:38] Because of all the gambling imagery.

[02:01:39] And stuff in this.

[02:01:40] I mean even it has booster packs.

[02:01:42] Like Magic the Gathering style.

[02:01:43] Which is basically gambling.

[02:01:45] Right.

[02:01:45] Well it makes me sad.

[02:01:46] Because it's like.

[02:01:48] Ball latro is right there.

[02:01:49] For pachinko.

[02:01:50] With just two L's.

[02:01:51] Ball latro.

[02:01:52] Come on.

[02:01:53] It's right there.

[02:01:54] So good.

[02:01:59] Numerals.

[02:02:01] I'm so smart.

[02:02:03] Good marketing.

[02:02:04] Well let me pat myself on.

[02:02:05] My marketing skills.

[02:02:06] One more steam review.

[02:02:07] From Smoot Fruthy.

[02:02:10] 36 hours on record.

[02:02:12] Says.

[02:02:12] You're laughing.

[02:02:13] Somebody just pressed discard.

[02:02:15] Instead of play.

[02:02:16] And you're laughing.

[02:02:17] You guys do this?

[02:02:19] Dude.

[02:02:19] I do it all the time.

[02:02:20] It's so painful.

[02:02:22] It's happened so many times.

[02:02:24] And I'm just like sitting there.

[02:02:26] And I'm just like.

[02:02:26] Ah.

[02:02:27] That was the perfect hand.

[02:02:29] Instant regret.

[02:02:30] I want to stop.

[02:02:32] I'm just like.

[02:02:32] I'm done.

[02:02:33] I'm not going to fucking play this game.

[02:02:35] I keep doing this over and over again.

[02:02:37] And I'm like.

[02:02:37] I'm going to be so careful next time.

[02:02:39] And then I do it again.

[02:02:41] Every time it happens.

[02:02:43] I'm like.

[02:02:43] I need to fuck.

[02:02:44] For the next like 20 minutes.

[02:02:46] I am playing very slowly.

[02:02:48] Because I'm like.

[02:02:48] I'm like.

[02:02:49] And I'm muttering under my breath.

[02:02:50] There needs to be a confirm.

[02:02:51] No.

[02:02:52] There needs to be like a confirm.

[02:02:53] Too long.

[02:02:54] There was a confirm.

[02:02:54] No.

[02:02:57] The first thing you do is go to options.

[02:02:59] And jack this game speed up to like.

[02:03:01] Oh yeah.

[02:03:01] Max.

[02:03:01] That's what I did too.

[02:03:02] So you're just flipping through the hands.

[02:03:03] The cards are flying.

[02:03:04] That's the way to play.

[02:03:05] You're going to lose.

[02:03:07] But it's fast.

[02:03:09] It's a fail fast.

[02:03:10] So you can get a good run.

[02:03:12] Yes.

[02:03:13] Yeah.

[02:03:14] All right.

[02:03:15] So much.

[02:03:16] And that basically covers all the me points of it in.

[02:03:18] And at this point.

[02:03:19] I just think we can go into final words.

[02:03:21] And I'll take these first ones.

[02:03:23] The game is good.

[02:03:24] As all the critics say.

[02:03:25] It's good.

[02:03:25] But I do not like how slow they drip feed you content.

[02:03:29] Because some of the cards they give you are.

[02:03:31] Like you said.

[02:03:32] The phase two or phase three vouchers.

[02:03:35] Are significantly stronger.

[02:03:36] And it's like.

[02:03:37] Oh.

[02:03:37] I could have just won earlier.

[02:03:40] And one of my losses could have been a win.

[02:03:42] If you would have just given me the better cards in the beginning.

[02:03:45] I get that.

[02:03:46] That's not how roguelikes work.

[02:03:48] You're supposed to build up to be like.

[02:03:50] Oh.

[02:03:50] I'm really good at the game.

[02:03:51] But I feel like that takes away the skill aspect of it.

[02:03:55] Where like.

[02:03:55] Oh.

[02:03:56] I could say like.

[02:03:57] Oh.

[02:03:57] I'm really good at the.

[02:03:58] At Hades.

[02:03:59] Or something like that.

[02:04:00] It's like.

[02:04:00] All right.

[02:04:01] But in Hades.

[02:04:01] You do power up your weapons as you go through.

[02:04:04] But you can do.

[02:04:05] A base run of Hades and win.

[02:04:08] It's just a lot harder.

[02:04:10] I don't know.

[02:04:10] Like.

[02:04:11] It almost feels like patronizing.

[02:04:12] Like the vampire survivors thing.

[02:04:14] So.

[02:04:16] Good news.

[02:04:17] If you go to the settings.

[02:04:18] There's an unlock all button.

[02:04:20] What there is?

[02:04:21] Right from the get-go.

[02:04:22] Oh my god.

[02:04:22] I didn't see that one.

[02:04:23] So for people like yourself.

[02:04:24] Who don't like that.

[02:04:25] Just unlock it all.

[02:04:26] Start.

[02:04:26] Like for the mobile version.

[02:04:28] Because I played it before.

[02:04:29] I didn't want to go through it again.

[02:04:30] Just go to the options.

[02:04:31] All right.

[02:04:31] I take back what I said.

[02:04:32] You know what they should do.

[02:04:33] What they should do.

[02:04:35] They really are.

[02:04:35] They should.

[02:04:36] They should sell the Jokers individually.

[02:04:39] For 50 cents each.

[02:04:41] And.

[02:04:42] It wasn't that.

[02:04:42] Put anime.

[02:04:43] Oh yeah.

[02:04:44] You're drunk.

[02:04:44] So for the gacha community.

[02:04:46] Oh my god.

[02:04:47] The anime.

[02:04:48] The anime skin collaboration.

[02:04:50] Collaboration.

[02:04:50] I'm down for it.

[02:04:51] They're already doing collaborations.

[02:04:54] Yeah.

[02:04:54] Did you guys play the collaborations any?

[02:04:55] I haven't seen them yet.

[02:04:56] But they added Geralt.

[02:04:58] Oh yeah.

[02:04:58] Of course they did.

[02:05:00] Yeah.

[02:05:01] I haven't seen them pop in the game though yet.

[02:05:03] All right.

[02:05:03] But yeah.

[02:05:04] This is a recommend for me.

[02:05:05] I have no hesitation anymore.

[02:05:09] What about you Rachel?

[02:05:10] I like it.

[02:05:12] I enjoy it.

[02:05:13] Maybe one day I'll complete a run.

[02:05:16] I don't know.

[02:05:17] Or I might just keep discarding all my hands on accident.

[02:05:22] You're making me quit.

[02:05:23] She's playing two deck building roguelikes right now.

[02:05:27] All I'm doing is playing deck building games.

[02:05:29] That's all I do.

[02:05:30] I'm playing Arena, Slay the Spire, and Bellatro.

[02:05:34] I like it.

[02:05:35] And that is it.

[02:05:35] I think Slay the Spire is the better deck builder.

[02:05:37] At least I like it more.

[02:05:39] It has more style.

[02:05:41] There's more going on in that game.

[02:05:44] I think.

[02:05:45] But I can see why someone would like this game more.

[02:05:48] Because it's much simpler.

[02:05:50] But also the dopamine highs are much higher.

[02:05:52] You know.

[02:05:53] The numbers get big.

[02:05:55] Big, big number.

[02:05:56] So it's like.

[02:05:58] Really big scientific notation.

[02:06:00] Whatever Dracula was talking about earlier.

[02:06:03] Yeah.

[02:06:04] I really like big number.

[02:06:06] But I do agree with Phillip.

[02:06:07] The drip feed is pretty slow.

[02:06:08] I didn't know about the unlock everything button either.

[02:06:11] So I might just go flip that switch and see what it's like.

[02:06:13] To have all that power.

[02:06:15] Like at my disposal.

[02:06:17] I don't know if I have the responsibility.

[02:06:19] If I can use that responsibly or not.

[02:06:21] But I do recommend this game quite a bit too.

[02:06:22] It's only 15 bucks.

[02:06:23] That's a great price.

[02:06:24] Probably pay like 20 bucks for this.

[02:06:26] I would have been okay with paying 20 bucks.

[02:06:28] And I would have been happy still.

[02:06:30] Yeah.

[02:06:31] I agree with that.

[02:06:33] Yeah.

[02:06:34] For me.

[02:06:34] This is probably.

[02:06:35] This is probably one of my top three games of the year.

[02:06:37] Which is kind of funny to say.

[02:06:39] That a poker roguelike.

[02:06:40] Is a top three game for me.

[02:06:42] Especially when I'm playing like Alan Wake 2.

[02:06:44] And all this other stuff this year.

[02:06:45] That's been great for me.

[02:06:47] But something about the graphic style.

[02:06:49] I dig it.

[02:06:50] The music.

[02:06:52] Something about the soundtrack in this.

[02:06:53] Is very alluring.

[02:06:55] It's very hypnotic.

[02:06:56] I'm with you.

[02:06:57] I still like to listen to podcasts once in a while.

[02:06:59] To play this as a background.

[02:07:01] But even if I don't have something in the background.

[02:07:03] The music is good enough that it's fine.

[02:07:05] That's keep it on.

[02:07:05] I don't turn off the music.

[02:07:07] I didn't mind the drip feeding.

[02:07:09] I thought that was kind of neat.

[02:07:11] Although I can see how it could be a little bit annoying.

[02:07:13] The first 20 times you lose.

[02:07:15] As you unlock stuff that becomes critical to a run.

[02:07:17] But I didn't think it was too long of a ramp up.

[02:07:20] But yeah.

[02:07:20] It's just the gameplay loop is fast.

[02:07:23] Especially when you jack up the speed.

[02:07:24] It's fast.

[02:07:25] It's a lot of fun.

[02:07:26] Even if I lose.

[02:07:27] I can usually see how I could have done it better.

[02:07:30] And not have lost.

[02:07:32] And I feel like it's still a small victory in that way.

[02:07:35] I just love the pressure luck on some of these things.

[02:07:37] I love how you look at the advantages of skipping an ante.

[02:07:40] Or skipping a blind.

[02:07:40] And it's worth the risk in some ways.

[02:07:43] Or you think it is.

[02:07:44] But then you realize you misjudged the boss.

[02:07:46] You have to fight the boss with nothing.

[02:07:48] That can be a real thrill too.

[02:07:50] There's just a lot about this game.

[02:07:51] Slay the Spire was a good deck builder.

[02:07:53] I like that game.

[02:07:55] And at first glance Blotra doesn't seem like it's as meaty as something like Slay the Spider.

[02:08:01] But once you get in.

[02:08:02] And you realize the combinations of jokers.

[02:08:05] How you can break the system.

[02:08:07] Just moving a joker from the left to the right.

[02:08:09] If it's a multiplier.

[02:08:10] It can give you huge gains.

[02:08:12] In terms of the points you get in a round.

[02:08:14] Some of them are like you hang on to them.

[02:08:16] Then you sell them.

[02:08:16] They get other jokers.

[02:08:17] Rare jokers.

[02:08:18] The combinations.

[02:08:19] The vouchers.

[02:08:20] There's so many moving parts to Blotra.

[02:08:22] That once you get in deep.

[02:08:23] And you get deep deep into it.

[02:08:25] There's like a meta.

[02:08:26] Universe of possibilities in this game.

[02:08:28] All for again.

[02:08:29] A game that's like what?

[02:08:30] 15 bucks.

[02:08:31] It's a pretty interesting game.

[02:08:33] It's one of those games where.

[02:08:35] Having seen this developer make this.

[02:08:37] I need to see what he does next.

[02:08:39] It's kind of that situation with me.

[02:08:40] There's only a handful of developers.

[02:08:42] Where I've been.

[02:08:43] I've made a game that has been that impactful to me.

[02:08:45] That I want to know what they do in the future.

[02:08:47] I don't want Blotro 2.

[02:08:49] Even if it fits in the name.

[02:08:50] But the Roman numerals.

[02:08:51] I want a new game.

[02:08:52] And I want to see what they do.

[02:08:53] Because this is really pretty groundbreaking.

[02:08:56] This is the ultimate.

[02:08:59] Multitasking game.

[02:09:01] Like this.

[02:09:02] I think.

[02:09:03] Because it's like.

[02:09:04] It's interesting.

[02:09:04] The Slay the Spire comparison.

[02:09:06] Because now I'm like.

[02:09:07] It's a lot more.

[02:09:08] It's a lot easier to play Blotro.

[02:09:10] And like watch a video.

[02:09:11] Or watch a movie.

[02:09:12] Or do something else.

[02:09:13] Than it is to do with Slay the Spire.

[02:09:15] I think.

[02:09:15] Because I think.

[02:09:16] I think the.

[02:09:17] The consequences of a mistake.

[02:09:19] Are much higher in Slay the Spire.

[02:09:22] Than Blotro.

[02:09:24] But.

[02:09:25] And the game is.

[02:09:26] I think is.

[02:09:26] Is more outwardly complex.

[02:09:28] On the other side.

[02:09:29] Because Blotro.

[02:09:30] Like you.

[02:09:31] You get all the visual information.

[02:09:32] Right there.

[02:09:33] Like you know.

[02:09:34] At least.

[02:09:34] As long as you know.

[02:09:34] What your jokers are doing.

[02:09:35] At the top.

[02:09:36] You know everything.

[02:09:37] At any moment.

[02:09:38] But like in.

[02:09:39] Slay the Spire.

[02:09:40] There's a lot of things.

[02:09:41] That can go awry.

[02:09:42] Which.

[02:09:43] I don't know.

[02:09:44] I really like them both.

[02:09:44] To put it out there.

[02:09:46] To give you know.

[02:09:46] Credit to the dev.

[02:09:48] He goes by local thunk.

[02:09:51] And he is.

[02:09:52] Just solo dev.

[02:09:56] So.

[02:09:57] Mr. Thunk.

[02:09:58] Excellent work.

[02:10:01] And with that.

[02:10:03] Jake.

[02:10:04] I want to thank you.

[02:10:05] For coming out.

[02:10:05] And staying with us.

[02:10:06] For a very long night.

[02:10:08] Of gaming together.

[02:10:13] Yeah.

[02:10:13] I think I kind of realized.

[02:10:14] It would be two hours plus.

[02:10:15] Going in.

[02:10:16] So that's.

[02:10:16] I'm glad you accepted that.

[02:10:17] Because I was.

[02:10:18] Thanks again for having.

[02:10:19] Having me back here though.

[02:10:20] It's been awesome.

[02:10:21] I was feeling bad.

[02:10:21] I was dragging you out this long.

[02:10:25] Nah.

[02:10:25] It's okay.

[02:10:25] So where are you from again?

[02:10:26] Just for our listeners.

[02:10:28] In case they missed.

[02:10:29] The first part.

[02:10:32] It was two and a half hours ago.

[02:10:33] They need a refresher.

[02:10:34] I get it.

[02:10:35] So I am Jake.

[02:10:37] I'm from PressB to Cancel.

[02:10:38] We're mostly.

[02:10:39] Mostly retro gaming podcast.

[02:10:40] Although.

[02:10:41] We go on tangents quite a lot.

[02:10:42] You can find us on.

[02:10:44] Over at YouTube.

[02:10:44] On Friday evenings.

[02:10:45] At PressB to Cancel.

[02:10:46] Or you can find our audio episodes.

[02:10:48] Anywhere you listen to your podcasts.

[02:10:50] Or just go to.

[02:10:50] PressB to Cancel.com.

[02:10:52] Or PressB.org.

[02:10:54] Because I snag that game.

[02:10:55] That domain.

[02:10:55] Made real cheap.

[02:10:56] But yeah.

[02:10:57] It's been great to come back on the show.

[02:10:58] Awesome.

[02:10:59] And that leads to.

[02:11:00] What are we playing next week?

[02:11:04] I don't know.

[02:11:04] So.

[02:11:06] Tuneik.

[02:11:06] Well no.

[02:11:07] I mean.

[02:11:07] Tuneik.

[02:11:07] Yeah.

[02:11:07] But we're going to try to get an actual co-op game in.

[02:11:09] Because this one wasn't co-op.

[02:11:11] I know we didn't mention it.

[02:11:13] There's zero co-op in Bellagia.

[02:11:14] Yeah.

[02:11:15] But I was looking at it.

[02:11:16] I think I mentioned it at the very beginning of the episode.

[02:11:18] Well.

[02:11:18] How do you feel about Valorant?

[02:11:22] Valorant?

[02:11:22] Fuck yeah dude.

[02:11:23] Valorant's fun.

[02:11:24] It's on Game Pass now.

[02:11:25] I'll play some Valorant.

[02:11:26] Uh.

[02:11:26] After it came from the PC land.

[02:11:29] Uh.

[02:11:29] It could be good.

[02:11:30] Uh.

[02:11:31] You know.

[02:11:31] Riot.

[02:11:32] You know they are.

[02:11:33] But uh.

[02:11:33] If we're able to look past Blizzard for Diablo.

[02:11:36] We can look past Riot for Valorant.

[02:11:41] Yeah.

[02:11:41] I gotta look past Wizard of the Coast.

[02:11:42] Every time I pick up my magic decks.

[02:11:45] Oh man.

[02:11:45] It's like I walk past the Game Workshop store.

[02:11:48] Whenever I was in Canada too.

[02:11:49] We went by.

[02:11:49] Like the world's biggest mall.

[02:11:50] I'm like.

[02:11:51] Oh man.

[02:11:52] Games Workshop.

[02:11:53] Dude.

[02:11:53] I can't escape it.

[02:11:54] I was randomly listening to the most recent episode of the Snark Tank.

[02:11:56] And while I was listening to it out loud.

[02:11:58] While I was.

[02:11:59] I was doing some grinding and metaphor.

[02:12:01] And Rachel's sitting there next to me.

[02:12:02] And they just randomly are like.

[02:12:04] This is shitty.

[02:12:05] Just like Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast.

[02:12:07] And I'm like.

[02:12:08] What the fuck?

[02:12:09] Like.

[02:12:09] And then they started talking about that.

[02:12:10] And these guys never.

[02:12:11] They don't.

[02:12:12] I didn't even know they knew.

[02:12:13] You're talking about the Pinkertons.

[02:12:14] Oh.

[02:12:14] The Pinkertons.

[02:12:15] That's right.

[02:12:15] They sent the Pinkertons to someone's house.

[02:12:17] The fucking Pinkertons from the March of the Machine.

[02:12:20] Like leak or whatever.

[02:12:22] One of them said.

[02:12:23] It makes more sense to send an assassin.

[02:12:25] In 2024.

[02:12:26] Than the Pinkertons.

[02:12:27] Like they're sitting next to a dusty.

[02:12:30] Like a.

[02:12:30] With spider webs.

[02:12:32] Like a rotary phone.

[02:12:33] Like just waiting for the call.

[02:12:36] Holy shit.

[02:12:37] All right.

[02:12:37] Well.

[02:12:38] Thanks for joining us this week.

[02:12:39] Oh.

[02:12:40] Maybe next time we can hire the Pinkertons.

[02:12:42] To assault card collectors together.

[02:12:44] Like.

[02:12:46] You know.

[02:12:47] Dousing rods.

[02:12:48] You know.

[02:12:48] Do all those things.

[02:12:49] Find some water.

[02:12:50] Bye.

[02:12:51] Goodbye.

[02:12:53] Bye.

[02:12:54] Bye.

[02:12:54] Bye.

[02:12:55] Bye.
