[00:01:12] Also, I didn't message him in a timely manner. I messaged him like a day before and because he was tweeting about it in like 2022.

[00:01:22] And I didn't go that far back on Twitter. I went into like mid-2023. You know what I mean?

[00:01:30] All right. But we are a video games podcast and we're going to be talking about Split Game. Before we get there, Naive, let's just check in with what games we were playing. Actually before that, Naive, it's your birthday.

[00:01:53] Yeah, I was a child prodigy. That's when I went to high school. Super young. I don't know how old I am actually.

[00:02:32] I did that thing again where I paralyzed myself with juggling too many games and now I don't want to play any of them.

[00:02:41] And also a lot of games have recently come out. So it's like I had visions of mana pre-ordered.

[00:02:47] So I was playing that a little bit. But then I bought the Mario and Luigi, well no, I bought it with Mario and Rabbids, Sparks of Hope.

[00:02:58] So I was playing a little bit of that. And I was already playing Superstar Saga. And now Space Marine has come out.

[00:03:03] So I literally got 10 minutes in of that before jumping on here.

[00:03:08] It's like it's a whole lot of shit I'm playing just a tiny bit of and then moving around.

[00:03:12] Mostly I'm just watching Rachel play Yakuza Zero, which is what she's doing behind me right now.

[00:03:17] That's so good. Such a great game.

[00:03:20] Being the... I think that might be the only Yakuza game I played all the way through.

[00:03:25] Yeah, with Majima and Kiryu.

[00:03:27] Majima is so good.

[00:03:30] She has twice in a row stayed up all night.

[00:03:34] And like I would wake up and she's not in bed and I'll come into the living room and she's still in here playing this.

[00:03:39] And it's funny because like today I was... I walked in and she was playing it and it's like, I'm like, oh you're like 15% through the game.

[00:03:47] And she's just like looks at me like what?

[00:03:50] Like that can't be possible. Unfortunately it is.

[00:03:55] I mean it's hard. You just want to spend so much time with the dragon of whatever Dojima or whatever and whatever Majima's title is.

[00:04:04] Mad Dog.

[00:04:07] She's doing like all of the side content. I can't remember what it's called. The sub stories.

[00:04:15] Sub stories.

[00:04:16] You gotta get people toilet paper. You gotta help a little boy win a crane game or something.

[00:04:22] Yeah, you gotta track down the guy who stole the little kids game that limited edition game that sold out.

[00:04:28] And you still get beat up by Macho Man or whatever that big dude is when you're walking on the street.

[00:04:42] I don't know but he fucked me up quite a few times actually. I'm not great at those brawlers.

[00:05:02] Yeah, and every time you beat him he takes all your money I think.

[00:05:06] If you lose to him. And then every time you beat him he just gets stronger.

[00:05:12] So it gets harder to kill.

[00:05:14] Which, God that's so brutal because your money is also like your experience that you use to level up.

[00:05:18] So it's like... It just takes it all. I'm like, oh sorry bud.

[00:05:25] But your cruise is great.

[00:05:27] But, Dave I see you put Visions of Man on your little list too.

[00:05:33] Yeah, it's really nice. The studio got shut down so that's pretty cool.

[00:05:39] Yeah, it's pretty sad actually. The game itself is pretty good.

[00:05:47] It's like a good B level JRPG and it's really pretty.

[00:05:54] I think the art design is probably the thing that's carrying it the most for me.

[00:05:58] Because I'm in this area now where it's like fields, it's like rolling hills.

[00:06:03] But there are farms on them but all the farms are different colors so one farm is like deep purple

[00:06:10] and one farm is bright red and it's a really cool looking area.

[00:06:15] And it's kind of like... It's like in a Tales game.

[00:06:19] Had a baby with Spyro the Dragon.

[00:06:21] You know what I mean? Because there's like shit to run around and collect.

[00:06:25] But it's like very laid back collecting. It's like Crash Bandicoot.

[00:06:29] It's like jumping a little bit. Like you go, oh I see a thing over there.

[00:06:33] I'm going to go grab it. I mean, I don't know. It's pretty relaxing.

[00:06:36] And I saw play it like 30, 40 minutes at a time.

[00:06:42] I mean yeah, I played the... I mean, did you ever play Trials of Mana?

[00:06:47] No, I haven't played any of the Mana games.

[00:06:48] I've played sets who know whatever 3, whenever they remastered it.

[00:06:53] No.

[00:06:54] I don't know if it's on Xbox.

[00:06:57] Oh, that's a good question. I played it on Switch.

[00:07:00] But I know it's on Steam as well.

[00:07:03] It's Square Enix though, right? Square Enix is saying they're going to release more shit on the Xbox.

[00:07:10] Alright, but no, I've definitely been looking over at Visions of Mana and I am interested.

[00:07:16] Mostly because of the Japanese aspect, but I liked Trials of Mana.

[00:07:23] Yeah, I kind of feel like this game is going to be on Game Pass eventually.

[00:07:26] So, I mean, you don't have to wait for that long.

[00:07:28] Yeah, really not.

[00:07:30] It's weird because it's like there's so many big GRBG franchises where you have like your Final Fantasies and your Dragon Quest.

[00:07:39] And then there's like Trials of Mana or the Mana series, which has always been like

[00:07:44] not even third place, but maybe like fourth place.

[00:07:47] I don't know what's above it. Nino Cooney or something like...

[00:07:50] Probably Tails.

[00:07:52] Tails? I haven't played any of the Tails games.

[00:07:55] So, I can't really place those.

[00:07:57] That's great. There's one coming out pretty soon.

[00:08:00] I mean, Tails of Vesperia got remastered. You can just play that.

[00:08:05] But Arise is most like Visions of Mana.

[00:08:30] It's been a while since I played Tails of Arise, so I don't really remember the...

[00:08:35] Like my gut feeling when I was playing it.

[00:08:38] But I mean, I just... I remember I liked it.

[00:08:40] So, I got to play the DLC.

[00:08:43] And it's on Game Pass.

[00:08:46] Yeah. So, I mean, the DLC is there just waiting for me.

[00:09:20] I just didn't like the Switch the first time I had one.

[00:09:23] And now that I'm actively kicked off of the TV pretty regularly,

[00:09:29] and I'm slowly buying more games for it.

[00:09:33] But I don't know. I like it quite a bit,

[00:09:36] but it's not something that I'll play a lot.

[00:09:39] I mean, I don't know if I'll ever get around to finishing it is what I'm trying to say.

[00:09:42] Yeah, unless the combat loop gets like a lot more intense

[00:09:46] because it's simple, but it's pretty satisfying still.

[00:09:49] Like the XCOM gameplay.

[00:09:50] Yeah, it was like Child XCOM.

[00:09:54] Yeah, except I got ganked one time and I was like,

[00:09:57] holy shit, I was like on autopilot and I didn't realize

[00:10:00] my flank was completely undefended and they just ran up on me like that.

[00:10:07] I think eventually it's going to start getting harder and harder.

[00:10:09] Like there's like boss fights and shit.

[00:10:12] It's pretty cool.

[00:10:13] It's really fucking weird when you play a game as Mario

[00:10:16] and you can't jump.

[00:10:18] Like that is a weird sensation where I'm constantly trying to jump

[00:10:22] and I'm like, oh yeah.

[00:10:24] You got to be behind the cover.

[00:10:27] Like you can jump over cover or something.

[00:10:31] I don't know if you'll unlock those abilities or whatnot,

[00:10:33] but like whenever you play the game, like in the when you're running around

[00:10:36] not in combat, like not being able to jump during that, it makes sense

[00:10:40] because you because a lot of the obstacles are just like a thing

[00:10:44] fall over in your way and you're just like, oh shit.

[00:10:47] But it's not that big of a deal.

[00:10:50] Maybe you unlock the ability later on, but I haven't played that much.

[00:10:53] Mario jump man. Mario can jump.

[00:10:56] Yeah, I'm assuming because it's like super super super star saga.

[00:11:01] The whole jumping thing is like built into the combat.

[00:11:04] So I didn't I don't know if it's going to do that or not

[00:11:07] because you play as every place a bunch of different characters

[00:11:10] and then rabbits versions of the yeah, the versions look pretty silly.

[00:11:14] I like that. Like it versus kind of weird.

[00:11:17] But once I realized that it's supposed to be weird and stupid,

[00:11:19] I liked him more.

[00:11:22] You got like a Roomba.

[00:11:24] I don't know. It's pretty cool.

[00:11:25] It's like a search tanking thing, you know, it's like you can't take him seriously

[00:11:28] because he's not taking himself seriously.

[00:12:15] Like I even made JP play with him and even he was converted despite its animativeness.

[00:12:21] And yeah, it's great having the lead dude be Spike from Cowboy Bebop.

[00:13:16] I just I didn't I just didn't care.

[00:13:17] Like I was hoping that thing like characters would be developed in some way and they weren't

[00:13:22] and I was like, oh, okay.

[00:13:23] Even the characters that I kind of liked, they just died.

[00:13:27] Before they got anywhere.

[00:13:31] Yeah, it's it doesn't matter.

[00:13:33] You can so when I heard about this game people were like you can skip the all the dialogue

[00:13:38] and it'll be fine and I was like, nah, I'm going to go the extra mile.

[00:13:41] I'm going to collect all the things.

[00:13:43] I'm going to get all the kids.

[00:13:46] All the scenes and I think that that I wish that was in the story somehow because I beat the game

[00:13:53] and then collected everything I missed, which was a lot of it.

[00:13:58] And then it's like because you have to play the game every level a second time to get the gifts.

[00:14:03] Right.

[00:14:04] And the gifts are fucking super fun to do too.

[00:14:07] So it's like, oh shit, like it's a puzzle like trying to like I was saying this game is a first person shooter puzzle game really.

[00:14:13] It's less of a shooter than it's like it's like a portal game.

[00:14:16] Yeah, it was a portal.

[00:14:19] It's like if the stuff all the all of the extra stuff you could skip the normal story.

[00:14:25] There's like nothing that happens that matters.

[00:14:26] And then the cut scenes you get from the gifts are like where the meat of the story is at.

[00:14:33] I don't know if you did any of that.

[00:14:34] I did not do any gifts because you mentioned just you wish you didn't do the trials and the like 100% everything.

[00:14:41] And I was like, yeah, I'm just going to play it for completion pretty much except for when JP came over and then I made him get platinum or whatever the diamond rank is on every level before we could progress.

[00:14:52] Which I did it bullying him like how he forces his father in law to get her play a lost planet to with them every time he comes over.

[00:15:00] I was forcing JP to speed run neon white neon white is a fucking sick game though.

[00:15:06] It feels really good.

[00:15:08] Yeah, great game.

[00:15:09] But on bottom of S rank only thing like the things above it are death store, Resident Evil 2 and Nino Kuni 2.

[00:15:16] So it's in some it's a high tier for me.

[00:15:38] You defeat Shub N'Garath by shooting him in the dick with a shotgun and that kind of killed it for me because the game is like super moody.

[00:15:48] It's like basically the whole town is going to be destroyed by dark Cthulhu and then tears and it's like, hold on, we have guns.

[00:15:55] And then we pull out our guns and just shoot Cthulhu's tentacles off.

[00:15:59] It's like, all right, I guess that's something that you can do.

[00:16:03] That's literally the first boss fight of Mario and Rabbids.

[00:16:07] Sparky Hope.

[00:16:09] Shub N'Garath.

[00:16:11] Yeah, fight shooting his tentacles off.

[00:16:13] Also Mario with some machine guns is bizarre as well.

[00:16:17] Everything about that game is so bizarre.

[00:16:20] Yeah, it's weird that they use the Mario characters.

[00:16:22] It was almost like it could have been his own game and then they just featured Mario characters or something.

[00:16:26] I think the whole thing was that the guy made the game and was absolutely certain that Nintendo was going to shut it down.

[00:16:35] They were like, I like this actually.

[00:16:37] And then he was like, oh shit, I got it.

[00:16:39] I got a Nintendo game.

[00:16:42] So stupid.

[00:16:44] But yeah, game is good if you just don't pay attention at the last 10 minutes pretty much, I guess.

[00:16:53] It would almost be better if you just assumed everyone died in the end.

[00:17:04] Next up I played two hours of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.

[00:17:14] How'd that go?

[00:17:16] So I heard the bad press.

[00:17:19] Mostly I heard two bad pressings.

[00:17:21] Number one was they were mad about the Harley Quinn redesign from the Batman games.

[00:17:26] And I'm like, it's a new game, you know, they're going to change Master Chief's armor every game they always do.

[00:17:31] So there was that.

[00:17:33] Then everyone else was also mad about the game apparently being dooky.

[00:17:38] And I was like, how bad could it be?

[00:17:41] And so I loaded in first off the game.

[00:17:44] I got the disc from the library.

[00:17:46] I put in the disc 32 gigabytes to install.

[00:17:48] I'm like, yeah, that's fine.

[00:17:51] It starts booting up and then it kept failing and just stopping.

[00:17:54] And I didn't know why it had another 64 gigabytes needed to download install and my Xbox was already maxed out.

[00:18:01] And so it wouldn't, it wouldn't even like inform you with that until I cleared out just all the space just in case that was the issue.

[00:18:08] And yeah, there's only like 32 gigs on disc.

[00:18:11] Even then you have to download another 64 megabytes to be able to play this game that's permanently online.

[00:18:17] Terrible because you can't pause it.

[00:18:19] Even in a single player game.

[00:18:22] It's kind of that's one of those things.

[00:18:25] You can't you can't pause Dark Souls maybe so.

[00:18:28] Fuck anyways, so you can't pause everyone's had that experience where you die in this dark.

[00:18:33] Yeah, you're like, I'm gonna switch this thing and then you just get fucking.

[00:18:38] Shwacked and then you have those mad lads who use that like they literally go into inventory to click on an item to use it or switch mid fight on stuff like that.

[00:18:47] And it's like, I guess that's what it's for. It's for the mad lads that are want to switch weapons mid fight.

[00:18:55] Anyways, this game, I thought I would played it for like four hours turns out. I only played it for like two hours.

[00:19:00] It is very slow, very boring.

[00:19:04] It feels like the budget version of the Guardians of the Galaxy game.

[00:19:07] Like I don't remember that one. Yeah, it feels like but I don't I think this game was already budget Final Fantasy four 15.

[00:19:16] Yeah, like I don't know what they spent to make this game. But whatever they spent was probably too much.

[00:19:21] It wants to be a live service game with micro transactions and battle passes for a big PvE thing.

[00:19:30] But yeah, God, because I thought it was almost going to be like, do you remember the Marvel Ultimate Alliance?

[00:19:38] Oh, yeah, those good games.

[00:19:40] Yeah, the games that is literally like a Diablo Looter shooter in the Marvel Universe.

[00:19:44] I was hoping that this would be similar to that. I don't know why I thought it would because those games are also like Looter shooter type things.

[00:19:52] Not just shooters, you know, there's also brawling and stuff like that.

[00:19:55] In this game, it's like that.

[00:19:57] But what's really annoying is like I wanted to like switch characters at one point because I got tired of being Captain Boomerang.

[00:20:03] And I'm like, oh, I want to switch to Harley Quinn.

[00:20:05] And it's like you have to back all the way out to the main menu to switch characters.

[00:20:09] If you wanted to, I'm like, that's not great.

[00:20:13] Like you can't switch the mid game even when you're playing single player.

[00:20:16] It's just you have to pick a character and then it's like until you start a new game, you're playing as Captain Boomerang or Harley Quinn or Captain Shark or King Shark, whatever his name is or dead, dead shot, death shot.

[00:20:29] But like, oh, God, it came.

[00:20:32] They goofed it.

[00:20:33] It's cool whenever any other character shows up though, because it's like there's one scene in particular like battle here's slice was Batman shows him surprisingly.

[00:20:43] The whole Justice League, they've been turned evil.

[00:20:46] So it's up to the Suicide Squad team to go kill the Justice League now they're all evil and shit.

[00:20:51] That's the whole premise of the game.

[00:20:54] Anyways, you see like a civilian running by and they know Batman's like sneaking around in Harley Quinn's like, don't worry, Batman doesn't kill people.

[00:21:03] And like a battering just like swings by and cuts the civilians throat and blood just burst.

[00:21:07] I like push and I'm like, that was pretty good.

[00:21:09] And then all like everyone in the Suicide Squad is like, oh God, no, they actually get like scared of Batman, which I appreciate that.

[00:21:17] Or it's like, it's cool when the Justice League actually shows up.

[00:21:21] But every other point of the game, you're basically just fighting no name aliens that are played by like Brainiac and it's like this sucks.

[00:21:31] Like this is the actual gameplay part.

[00:21:34] So I instantly retired that game after my two hours.

[00:21:37] I'm not going back.

[00:21:39] Even if I don't even think I could play this co-op with you with how bland, disgusting this game is like, yeah, it would be painful.

[00:21:48] It would be you dragging me through it, probably.

[00:21:52] I have the way I have less will.

[00:21:54] Yeah.

[00:21:55] If you don't have the willpower even already, then that's it's dead on arrival.

[00:22:00] Yeah, it's like looking at like some of our worst games like Wolfenstein Youngblood.

[00:22:04] That game was so bad that I still wanted to see the ending to see how bad it could get.

[00:22:11] Whereas this game is so bad, I feel like even if I saw the ending, I would feel nothing.

[00:22:17] In fact, I would just feel like I wasted my time.

[00:22:24] I don't know who cares, but like I'm still going to spoil it.

[00:22:45] I don't understand how like maybe like if you are as a dumb child and I had nothing better to do but grind for like days.

[00:22:54] Then yeah, you can do it.

[00:22:56] But it's like, I guess I'm bad at the battle system or maybe or something.

[00:22:59] But it's like the game is like really hard people get to hit like every fight even you whenever I think I'm on level.

[00:23:07] Yeah. I mean, I just abused the rewind on switch online.

[00:23:11] Like as much as I could.

[00:23:12] What predict attacks type deal.

[00:23:16] Generally, generally like they will change attacks if you if like someone gets one shot and you change everyone's moves, they will attack differently.

[00:23:23] Like they take into consideration what you inputted.

[00:23:26] Oh, no, it's a Mortal Kombat thing where you can you can read your moves of where you do them or as you if you make everyone do the same thing and then make the just get the fastest dude who is the wizard like Claire of Hoant dude.

[00:23:41] Just get him a bunch of healing items and then have him just toss a healing item to whoever's going to get one shot and then have everyone else do the exact same thing.

[00:23:50] And usually that would they would still attack the same way.

[01:28:18] So if we step in the rank we're instantly competing against the top 100 split gate players.

[01:28:24] Yeah and the thing also is that like we only we only played like four matches and I'm pretty sure it was at like there was three or four people from the each of those matches like we were like interchanging with like the same kind of teams.

[01:28:50] But whenever we were playing ranked I don't know I felt like I was crushing.

[01:29:14] There's portals you can only put portals on blue walls.

[01:29:17] They're very obvious you can see them across the map and you have a right portal and a left portal like right bumper left bumper much like the game portal from Valve and they're connected together so you can just walk through one like a little doorway and pop out of the other end.

[01:29:32] But you can also shoot through it and look through it and peek through it and see what's going on on the other side.

[01:29:38] Enemies can also shoot back through but they can't see through it.

[01:29:40] So this makes it a big game of throwing portals around.

[01:29:46] I've seen a couple like I watched like a highlight reel of like the actual pro players and the whole game is nothing but portal peaking.

[01:29:52] It's all about throwing portals around staying as safe as possible so that you can see the enemies before they see you and then you kind of like choose the engage.

[01:30:03] And that is the high tier play is to play with portals.

[01:30:07] That's not really how I was playing the game.

[01:30:09] I feel like I was playing with Halo but we did portals every once in a while.

[01:30:13] It's like deal you know whatever just convenient.

[01:30:15] I was I was using a lot of portal like tech.

[01:30:19] I think that's partially why I was doing so is that like a lot of people just don't expect the portal like they just don't expect you to be watching us the random spot.

[01:30:28] Like there are some maps that are really good.

[01:30:30] Like there's this map where there's like a lot of empty space to fall down in but like there's like two hallways.

[01:30:40] But you can put a portal on one side of the hallway and then there you can go into like there's this like off the side path like area like a little box room with portal walls everywhere and you can just like watch in there.

[01:30:55] And no one will see you for a while like no one will be able to catch you now the enemies can shoot back through the portals.

[01:31:01] You can only see through your own portals so you can't even see through teammates portals but if you aim into the portal.

[01:31:10] Your reticle will turn red if there's an enemy standing on the other side of it so they can retaliate.

[01:31:15] I've been killed multiple times looking through portals at someone that would notice me.

[01:31:19] You know what I mean but it's still pretty interesting if you like got the wherewithal.

[01:31:27] I mean I've I pulled off one play that was really proud of where it was like someone got the jump on me and it's almost like hey the lodge like whoever starts shooting first when you got the job and somebody is going to win.

[01:31:37] But I managed to like throw a portal back towards him behind him and then I ran around the corner corner like portal through the wall and came out directly behind this guy.

[01:31:47] So I had reversed on the jump on him and shot him right in the back of the head and you know killed him and like that's incredible it's never going to happen again.

[01:31:55] But that's the type of gunplay that like you aren't going to see in Halo because there's no portals in Halo of course but that is a unique shooter experience.

[01:32:05] Like I'm trying to think of another way that maybe Shadowrun Microsoft Shadowrun back on 360 where you can tell where through your walls.

[01:32:13] Yeah or maybe like Tracer's reversing type deal where she goes like back through places.

[01:32:19] I don't know it's it's an interesting movement mechanic that you don't see used often where you can literally revert your location.

[01:32:27] When the very first game we played there's like this like weekly game mode going on and it was basically Hunger Games and I did a winning.

[01:32:35] And it was me and you at the very end and neither of us knew that that was what would have happened but I portaled behind you and fucked you up.

[01:32:43] But and I was like oh my god I'm so glad I'm streaming I'm so glad I caught that and then I went back and your voice wasn't turned on.

[01:32:57] But I mean that was a fun little game mode other movement mechanics is we have jet packs so you can like kind of just like jet pack around for a little bit.

[01:33:16] So you know I feel like you almost need a paddle or something or remap it.

[01:33:22] Yeah I almost went and grabbed the fucking elite controller but we didn't play for long enough.

[01:33:27] Yeah but a paddle would make the jet packs much better and this game is cross play with mouse and keyboard and I feel like you can really tell the mouse and keyboard users.

[01:34:35] Next up there's portal blocking and you can EMP them with grenades where you can throw grenades.

[01:34:41] They don't damage players but they damage portals and you can blow up enemy portals that way.

[01:34:46] Portals have like no cooldown so they can always just throw another one but it makes an interesting thing where you can like place a portal on the wall and then the enemy cannot portal to that wall while your portal is there.

[01:34:58] So then they need to destroy your portal if they want to get over there and the grenades have a limited distance.

[01:35:02] You can't chuck them super far across.

[01:35:05] You can throw them pretty damn far but not that far.

[01:35:09] This was really interesting when we were playing like King of the Hill and there's like portal walls behind us and we're like oh we need to literally portal block otherwise they're just going to give the drop on us.

[01:35:20] Yeah they're going to shoot us from a fucking weird direction.

[01:35:25] I really like this.

[01:35:26] It makes it feel like I got a ward.

[01:35:28] Like in League of Legends I got to place a ward so I can know where the enemies are.

[01:35:31] I have to portal block otherwise the enemies are just going to portal into me.

[01:35:36] Yeah I mean I really do like the portals.

[01:35:39] There are some areas where I would drop a portal on like a wall and just kind of stand in a way that I could see the portal on my left side and then I'm aiming down away on my right side and then if I see something I could just snap to the left really quick.

[01:35:52] That was like really good in like SWAT because you just instant copied with headshots.

[01:35:57] Yeah those are all the major mechanics that make this game kind of like different.

[01:36:02] If we get into some of the game modes there's the waiting room.

[01:36:05] This is part of the queue time where you go into a waiting room which is a small blocky area where it is just a free for all killing frenzy while you just wait for the queue to happen.

[01:36:16] This is the best game mode.

[01:36:18] Yeah it's just silly you run around with like random guns.

[01:42:29] It was very sweaty very low population.

[01:42:32] We see it seemed to have a population of four not counting us.

[01:42:39] One game at a time.

[01:42:42] Then Naeva I think you got DDoS at one point because your whole internet went down for an extended period of time.

[01:42:49] Yeah, it brought me back to the glory days of Rainbow Six Siege.

[01:42:54] But for sure so I the last two games we played were against the same enemy team and we were in the lobby and I was like I pointed it out.

[01:43:05] I was like oh Philip these two of these guys are for sure from the last game that we played which was really sweaty but we lost but it was really sweaty.

[01:43:13] But I was popping off like I was doing great.

[01:43:16] Our teammate one of our teammates was garbage and then like I don't remember really what happened but as soon as we started the game I showed up I ran in there.

[01:43:25] I got a kill and then my internet went away.

[01:43:27] My internet went night night for about four minutes which is classic DDoS attack just long enough to get me out of that ranked match.

[01:43:36] And my router went red like if I router was like I don't know what to do like I don't know where the connection is.

[01:43:43] There's some weird traffic going on.

[01:43:46] But that is a it hasn't happened to me in a very long time but it made me feel good because I was just like oh so I was the guy that they needed to get rid of I guess.

[01:43:56] Which is funny is that they turned you into a bot and then your person keeps playing.

[01:44:02] So it's still my name.

[01:44:04] Yeah it's still your name it's like Gun vs. Kittens Bot.

[01:44:07] Oh it's so weird but yeah I was fucking so by the time I got back it was like five minutes five minutes later I guess and then you weren't online anymore so I was like oh I guess I'm just over.

[01:44:18] Yeah I mean that sucks but with a lower tier shooter you have to deal with stuff like that usually because usually the higher ones they hopefully have some kind of anti-cheat going on.

[01:44:33] But I doubt anyone's enforcing any regulation on Splitgate.

[01:44:39] Yeah well I mean the problem is that like I you can there I don't I'm not going to explain how to DDoS people never mind actually but it's not that hard and you can do it on any game.

[01:44:50] Yeah it's fucking annoying and it's so funny that this is what people unranked on Splitgate are doing they're fucking DDoSing people it's incredible.

[01:45:01] Well it's like if you ever want to get you know I want to be number one ranked in the world on Splitgate this is how you can easily do it.

[01:45:36] All right besides that I don't think I really have any more me points about this game it is exactly what it tries to be there's no pay to win.

[01:45:46] There is a in-game currency or premium currency or whatever from battle passes but it seems unintrusive like I didn't even notice it or maybe I've just blocked that out of my mind anymore whenever it pops up.

[01:45:59] Hey you can play these challenges and there's always little notifications go click on stuff.

[01:46:02] Eventually I went and clicked on them and gave me a whole bunch of free skins and stuff but it's really out of your way to actually go and look at that stuff.

[01:46:12] It's not front and center which I appreciate where meanwhile Call of Duty will hit me with three pop-ups for different bullshit every time I start the game and play a cutscene.

[01:46:24] So this game is subtle and apparently they are working on a Splitgate 2 that's supposed to be coming out next year.

[01:46:31] So I was just looking at.

[01:46:33] I don't know anything about Splitgate 2 but if it's anything if it's another free to play shooter like this then I mean yeah like it feels like an easy jump in compared to Concord with its $40 or whatever it was.

[01:46:48] So I think Splitgate 2 is going to be it's either class based or okay so look it says dash around the battlefield as the agile arrows control the chaos as the tactical and time manipulating meridian

[01:47:02] or running guns blazing with sad brass raw power.

[01:47:07] So I think they're trying to take from this sounds like not war zone what is that game war finals war for no warframe that's it yeah because the characters kind of look like warframe characters too.

[01:47:22] Well it almost sounds like the finals where you have your three different boys you have your light medium and heavy.

[01:47:31] Yeah you said you had your dasher you have your time manipulator I guess and then you have your soldier which I assumed is basically like their spin of the light medium heavy build.

[01:48:21] But this game is good and what it is the problem is it does have low population so the ranked mode is just probably not worth in devolving in but the casual play like if we could do a full lobby for casual play I think that this game would be hilarious.

[01:48:37] Like get the whole goof troop in drop in 4v4.

[01:48:43] Splitgate it can be a lot of fun.

[01:48:45] Like you probably get really sweaty really fast like John and suffer example but it would be a lot of fun.

[01:48:51] So I definitely recommend if you have some boys if you have you know the normal crew where you're like alright where we dropping on for night you know you got your four boys or whatever.

[01:49:00] Instead be like hey guys download splitgate we'll play a couple matches you're gonna have a great time this is a recommend for me but not forever this is probably just like a weekend game type deal because I'm probably not going back to splitgate.

[01:49:13] But I'm welcome to splitgate 2 I'm looking forward to the future.

[01:49:19] Yeah I mean I like arena shooters I definitely not going to recommend this over halo infinite.

[01:49:24] Halo infinite was a paid game I would say I would say this is a great free alternative but they're both free.

[01:49:31] It's just really tough to recommend this over halo especially since halo infinite has a thousand times the people playing on on steam that's not counting the people playing on consoles I mean that applies to splitgate as well but I think just and this is not is it circumstantial.

[01:49:50] I don't remember anecdotal but I'm pretty sure most of the people I was watching the kill camps of were playing on PC just from the way that they were moving.

[01:49:58] But that was just my experience.

[01:50:01] I don't know I really like it a lot and the gunplay is solid.

[01:50:05] I wish you could slide I had just gotten so used to it that it's very weird.

[01:50:09] I would I try to do it more than once and most of the time I'd get killed because now I am a very slow moving target.

[01:50:16] I don't know it's really fun and I'm good at it so that I like it even more because of that.

[01:50:24] Yeah and it's good it's a good way to break up the monotony between oh one thing we didn't really talk about is that like the visual language of this game is very clear.

[01:50:34] So it's super easy to tell when you're looking at like an enemy or something there's not a lot of visual clutter so it doesn't have that apex legends like problem where like everything starts to blend in together and it's fucking impossible when things are really bad.

[01:50:45] So if you're exploding and all these particle effects are happening there's like no explosions in this game except there's yet the rockets but that's a power weapon so like other than that there's no there's no exploding because there's no grenades.

[01:50:56] So it's like I mean the grenades are specifically to stop portals.

[01:50:59] So you're like always able to like understand what you're looking at.

[01:51:06] I don't know there's a lot of things correctly.

[01:51:08] There's only like seven guns in the game maybe maybe like eight or nine but it's like three rifles a pistol the baseball bat and then like the rest of like power weapons.

[01:51:21] Well maybe that's a sniper the fucking but they keep it very tight.

[01:51:26] I don't know if that's just a game scale thing or a balance thing.

[01:51:29] I hope it's a balance thing because that shows that they know what they're doing.

[01:51:33] But I mean it's like Halo Halo also didn't have that many weapons at the beginning.

[01:51:39] Meanwhile it's like on Call of Duty I have no idea what anyone's gun is using that any time.

[01:51:44] But this you can spot the difference between the shotgun the rifles the SMG but oh he had the assault rifle so of course you know he won close range type deal.

[01:51:55] Yeah it's like because the bullets have a specific profile so like it's like you can tell when you're getting shot by the assault rifle or the pistol or the DMR.

[01:52:03] Like you can tell as you're getting shot while what you're getting shot by.

[01:52:08] It's like it's really good.
