[00:01:14] He's got to have it by now. I don't know but he's asked to ask now with the last episode. Last time we talked about this it was Nick that had it. I think yeah. Yeah, I think Nick beat you by like one or two episodes.

[00:01:27] And now this year's just, I don't even I have no concept of time anymore. I don't know what we've done this year. The only way I can remember episodes is I just remember doing thumbnail art.

[00:01:37] I don't remember anything I've ever said but I can tell you exactly what episodes you've been on because I remember putting your stupid face inside of the mask in starfield. Nate.

[00:01:49] I put your, you were on our starfield episode too and I had put you in a mask in a helmet as well. Yeah, we were directly competing. Yeah. With the nails anyways.

[00:02:00] I remember all the the dumb fucking ad garbage like do this mobile this even more mobile mobile homes. Holy shit. It's so fucking it's so unhinged. It's like otherworldly like Lovecraftian and like unhinged students. It's great. That was the episode that came out today right. Yep. Yep.

[00:03:13] We did that with with nasty Nate over here and hell yeah. So the cool guy with his leather loafers doing that sweet streets of rage kick my wife's cousin had that add on. So the activator. Yeah. Fuck yeah. Oh my kid almost made an emergency call. Okay.

[00:03:35] Emergency call the Chuck E. Cheese delivered 15 pizzas. Oh my God. That was like hey guys you guys put pepperoni underneath the cheese on pizza right now we do.

[00:03:48] Yeah in Canada we apparently like we didn't even know or notice that when we order pizza when pizza comes to us our pepperoni is under the cheese here in Ottawa like our city.

[00:04:00] I don't know what happened but like any pizza you order without stating to put the pepperoni on top of the cheese they'll put it underneath the cheese. Yeah.

[00:04:08] He was asking you guys he was asking you guys if it's normal over there that the pepperoni is on top of the cheese. Yeah and then I showed him the emoji. We just literally pizza into the keyboard and it pops up pepperoni on top.

[00:04:23] And then I use what I love that gift of what's his fucking Christian Bale when he's in that box everyone is fucking great. I love it. I can't believe that shit.

[00:04:35] I don't even see what the difference would be though because you're just you're baking in an oven so it's like I think it makes anyway.

[00:04:41] I think the crispiness of the pepperoni when it's on top of the cheese it gets crispy right because it's baked in the oven when it's on top of the cheese if it's under the cheese it just gets soaked in grease and it doesn't crisp the pepperoni under the cheese.

[00:04:54] It's like the it's like the difference between wearing sunscreen or not. Yes I do get crispy if I don't wear sunscreen. Please bake me under cheese. My pepperoni nipples you know. Eric god damn it talk about retro rehab. Did you talk about that yet?

[00:05:11] No retro rehab is this one is all about retro gaming. It's kind of almost like super pod saga but like it's just yeah it's all retro gaming different retro topics like games that made us rage as kids weird goofy PS1 games and all sorts of cool shit.

[00:05:29] It's just as goofy and funny and fucking stupid as super pod saga. It's got a little bit of a different flow though so we had like yeah pretty cool guests on there like Vim from Vim's Lair rip.

[00:05:54] The difference between super pod saga and retro rehab is I'm not allowed on retro rehab for all my blaspheming against retro games that I'm constantly doing.

[00:06:03] Well you talk about the junction system and like triple triad in Final Fantasy 8 a lot so I mean you still come on there for Final Fantasy 8 I guess.

[00:06:12] Well see now I'm just counteracting Thrak at this point because all of the misinformation he puts out there against that game.

[00:06:19] Oh dude I don't know if you've listened to our Final Fantasy episode yet but one of the dudes from press B to cancel Chard he absolutely fucking hates Final Fantasy 8 and he just went off on a big old tirade about it.

[00:06:34] It's not that bad. I remember liking it. I love Final Fantasy 8. It's crazy that people are like it's whatever.

[00:06:41] You know it really confounds me. It's actually not that crazy. I'm like yeah okay I get it you don't like Final Fantasy 8. You know what I really don't understand though is people who don't like Final Fantasy 8 but they love Kingdom Hearts because they're the same fucking thing.

[00:06:53] Like they're basically exactly the same type of storytelling. See I like Final Fantasy 8 but I don't like Kingdom Hearts.

[00:06:59] I can understand that because Kingdom Hearts has like this childish thing about it but like literally everything about Kingdom Hearts is in Final Fantasy 8. Like a square is not as a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square. I don't know. If that made sense in my head.

[00:07:14] Final Fantasy's not bad. I don't get the hate for it. Like it's not for everybody but that doesn't mean it's a terrible game. It seems like when people love to shit on Final Fantasy 7 because it's not the greatest game ever made blah but it's still a good game. Like shut up man.

[00:08:01] It's funny because I haven't. So at a local grocery store they have these like phone VR headsets. Like you attach your phone to the VR headset and it's like super cheap. It was like 10 bucks. And I was like wow what does porn look like on these $10 virtual headsets?

[00:08:21] It's like the Nintendo Switch Labo headset. Yeah yeah you slide your phone in and it turns your phone into like a VR system and you can do like VR gaming like roller coaster games and shit like that. I tried the port out and it was not good.

[00:08:38] You just fully erected this phone. Yeah dude when the money started happening I couldn't avoid it no matter where I dodged it was always coming right at me. Brenda! Brenda where are these fucking oranges? This isn't turning me on at all! I want my money back.

[00:09:48] I've been playing a lot of Final Fantasy 5 on the Game Boy Advance on my little handheld dealio. The pixel remasters was that was Final Fantasy 5 in that package? Yeah it's 1 through 6. Oh okay. Yeah it's all of them. Nice.

[00:10:05] All those are like I think 1 through 3 are on NES or something like that and then 4 through 6 are on SNES. I'm playing the Game Boy Advance version of 5 because it has like 3 or 4 different jobs that you don't get in the SNES version or the pixel remaster.

[00:10:23] And I was just like whoa fuck I'm just going to go download the sound restoration patch. The LC extra. Yeah all sorts of shit. The sound restoration, color restoration, all sorts of nerdy fucking gobbledygook. It's a fun game. I promise.

[00:10:38] What do you mean download that? On to your Advance? He's using like an emulator thing. Oh the handheld guns. I bashed this little toy fire truck into my desk on accident one sec. He was getting excited to show us his handheld. Oh okay yeah nice. Well emulator handheld.

[00:10:58] Fuck yeah. I haven't played, well yeah I guess I've also been playing Diablo 4 mild spoilers because that's, I don't know maybe we'll talk about that today. Yeah potentially. Yeah that's pretty much it. Nice. Alright what about you Nate?

[00:11:16] Ah I jumped back into Final Fantasy XIV online because the expansion came out.

[00:11:22] And I was waiting a while so those fucking queue times could go down a bit because like every time they release an expansion with that game there's like you've got to wait three or four hours in queue to get in.

[00:11:33] So I waited like a month and so far, no not in queue. They're running. No but I waited a month to buy it. But the queue times are fine now. It's only like 30 seconds to a minute. I'm playing that, I don't know what it is about this game.

[00:11:53] Like well I guess Final Fantasy is like super cheesy right? Like the stories is like love and friendship and cheese you know. And it feels good. And pepperoni underneath the cheese. Wacking it at the grocery store.

[00:12:06] So I've been playing that on PS5 actually not on PC so I'm playing with the controller. Oh yeah it's good. It's good. It's surprisingly really good how they like ironed all that out.

[00:12:19] Like flipping your task or your toolbars to like certain skills and all that kind of stuff. It's really really intuitive. I love it.

[00:12:28] I actually would rather play it on the couch with the controller than at my PC because I had purchased it when it first came out on PC and I played like the first two expansions on PC and then I switched to PS5.

[00:12:39] I had to buy it all over again. But I definitely like it more on PS5. I've actually been playing Temtem with my wife. We've been co-opping that. It is fantastic. That's co-op? Yeah. It's an MMORPG. Pokemon clone-ish. But like the art style is really cool.

[00:13:04] The Temtems or the Pokemon or the Pocket Monster things. The monsters, the designs are really good. Like usually in like Pokemon clones, like I don't know they're not great designs on the monsters but in Temtem it's fantastic. You see other people running around. You can interact.

[00:13:21] It's like a full on MMORPG. Trading. All sorts of stuff. It's super fun. This is the first time I'm running through on co-op and it's really really really good. And it was like 10 bucks on CDkeys.com for PC. Holy shit. CDkeys. CDkeys, yeah. Oh it was 8 bucks.

[00:13:40] 8 bucks Canadian. That's where John was getting his pizza at. He'd usually say no plugging if we're not paying us. But like 8 bucks on CDkeys Canadian that's what? $1.50 for US. Holy shit really? I saw on Steam that it was 45 bucks. Oh okay. Well American it would be like 5 bucks.

[00:14:03] Yeah 45 Canadians is 5 bucks. Had me more roused in that time. I looked up VR porn at the old fairway. But that one we've been playing. We played it like all day yesterday like 12 hours straight. God damn. Just sitting on the couch and just gaming.

[00:14:19] And then I've been playing Overwatch 2 because I accidentally bought the Battle Pass. Accidentally. Because I saved up enough Overwatch coins because I do like the Microsoft points and I do like the quizzes on their stupid site. And I ask them questions and I get all those Microsoft points.

[00:14:38] And I eventually able to buy a bunch of Overwatch coins to buy the Battle Pass. Which takes like 3 months of saving. And then I finally picked it up and then I look at the Battle Pass and I was like oh 30 days left.

[00:14:51] I'll wait till the next Battle Pass. I go up, I go to take a shit. I come back and I just go buy Battle Pass. Like I completely forgot. I was like buy Battle Pass. And I'm like wait what the fuck I do?

[00:15:05] To be fair, you know whenever you take a shit you're a new man coming out of the room. Yeah exactly. I shit my brain though pretty much. I can't share right now because my toilet's been clogged for like 4 days.

[00:15:14] And the bastards that run maintenance on my apartment call at 7 haven't gotten back to me yet. So that's real cool. You have to take a shit and it's like 30 days later. Yeah dude I'm going to have to go to 7-Eleven. And pretend I'm going to buy something.

[00:15:28] Across the street, yeah. Do you just buy a pack of like Free Dent or something? I don't know if they still sell Free Dent but just buy a pack of gum. Go take a shit and chew on that gum. What is Free Dent? Remember Free Dent?

[00:15:57] Jerry was hyping this fucking game up a whole lot for me. Because he really loves it and keeps trying to get me to play it. I played maybe 4 hours of it and the game crashed and I got mad and stopped. On what, XBox? Yeah. Oh yeah nice.

[00:16:10] I think I just had too much shit on Quick Resume and it was like and just was freaking out. I like that. It plays a lot like Xenoblade Chronicles but...

[00:16:31] yeah it's pretty much shit right now and I just bought EA Sports WRC racing because it was $20 on EA games cuz I'm pathetic so that's it I do that same thing I used to use Bing all the time I kind of stopped so much I literally

[00:16:46] just got enough for a hundred dollar gift card though oh nice that's a lot of take maybe like five or six months but like this is the thing since Xbox is my primary gaming platform I'm buying all my games on there and so that's just

[00:17:03] getting me up there like faster you know it's true some it's like I got one percent it was just like a half of a percent kickback in points basically I get a lot of PlayStation like five dollars off PlayStation cards from

[00:17:17] doing their stupid what I don't know what the hell they call it now their reward system but I often can get five bucks off here and there which is pretty good but I've never gotten a hundred dollars off because of my

[00:17:29] points that's craziness Nintendo kind of has that kind of thing yeah points and like that's kind of cool I think you get from buying like a $60 game I think you can get you get I don't know don't know what the

[00:17:42] conversion is I think it's something pretty good something like that yeah like four because you're always you're always buying $80 games on fucking Nintendo switch you know yeah they're like their titles yeah they have named me by like fucking this when the pick story master came out

[00:17:56] and skipped Xbox because of course it did I was like I guess okay so Square Enix is dead to me fuck them PS5 it's only on ps4 switch and steam so so I mean you're you lucked out kind

[00:18:09] of I was like alright well it's never coming to Xbox because they hate Xbox for some reason so I'm just gonna buy it on the switch fuck it and then I played like an hour of Final Fantasy 4 and oh and then I never went back

[00:18:34] do I and I never played them at all I'm like using my switch to play Golden Sun and shit fuck yeah as you should man Golden Sun rules I remember that one it was pretty good so good I remember that yeah which I guess rolls into

[00:18:47] what I've been playing but I was playing Golden Sun today I probably played about a quarter of the entire game in this one sitting and then my switch was like have mercy dude you know it's crazy I don't know if it's

[00:19:01] just the emulation or what but there is a summon where this anime girl on this frog or this total I don't remember comes out and the particle effects make the game go to like two frames a second for like a couple seconds

[00:19:14] it's a fucking Game Boy Advance game is it not yeah I think that's how it ran on the Game Boy Advance like oh they don't try to run make it run any better just like here yeah so I was assuming it might have been like an

[00:19:27] emulation thing but it's still very funny there's a few more that do the same fucking thing like there's one called judgment I think it's like the last earth summon you get and they just like shoots down this gigantic

[00:19:40] ball of light that crashes into the earth and like basically makes the earth fucking explode and yeah it slows down a bunch too it's fucking sweet but it sucks that it's like two frames a second it reminds me

[00:21:53] just all sorts of stuff but we also have a gaming channel Neon Gaming Dimension that's where we do all our video game stuff and that brings me here today hell yeah one of the last episodes I was on on your show was for card games

[00:22:08] so because I was a magic person so I went on there we just did all trading card games yeah I went in there and just basically uncontested shit all over Yu-Gi-Oh for like five hours it was great Aaron you should have been there

[00:22:22] I was about to say that one why haven't we ever had a Yu-Gi-Oh vs. Magic thing man I feel like we could really go back and forth with that shit and Yu-Gi-Oh I tried there's way too much reading

[00:22:31] if it's not more than like three words on the card it's not for me Yu-Gi-Oh is all about linguistics baby it's all about those linguistics can't be destroyed your reading level must be 10 out of 10 to play Yu-Gi-Oh I'm confused we're in the middle of games we were playing

[00:22:51] I talked about Golden Sun do you want to talk Jacob about what you've been playing recently and then I can wrap up my list sure I did play a little bit more Diablo 4 because I know the season is ending today but like I mean I did one pit

[00:23:05] my first ever pit and I was like and then I was like leveling up my what is it going to the nightmare dungeons to level up your glyphs and doing that kind of stuff I mean like the end game is like fun

[00:23:17] but I was like do I really want to do this or do I want to play Dragon's Dogma 2 which I continue to play and I'm having fun I just got to the other country the desert place Batall I think is what it's called still loving that game

[00:23:34] if you know me you know I love Dragon's Dogma 1 so I was really stoked for 2 I'm also stoked for the upcoming game Visions of Mana which I did play the beta of by the way yeah that was pretty fun

[00:23:48] although the things I don't like about it so far is the graphical enhancements are kind of like eh it's like lit kind of flat lit kind of flat just sounds like zoomers speak to me it's like it's really colorful and it has great art design and character designs

[00:24:11] and environmental designs but it just needs a little bit of graphical polish to really pop to be brighter have better looking lighting as well as it just needs some texture filtering make that shit a little sharper bro but yeah really stoked for that game I've played other betas

[00:24:32] one that I can't even talk about because I guess I'm signing NDAs these days it's kind of weird but that game was kind of fun we'll talk about that in a bit and then of course Elden Ring Shadow of the Earth Tree

[00:24:46] I've already beaten but I started my second playthrough of just the DLC on another character and we're doing our for the gaming we're doing the Elden 3 let's play series where it's just 3 player co-op like pretty much the whole time every dungeon

[00:25:03] and so we just run every dungeon back to back we did a stream of that yesterday so for the Visions of Mana is it a remaster or is it a brand new game? it's a brand new game I got a dog remake or not remake? yeah yeah

[00:25:21] the remake there already was one yeah that was Trials of Mana which is a remake of Psychin Densetsu 3 which in America would have been called Secret of Mana 2 never came out in America now it's called Trials of Mana this is why I hate retro games but wait

[00:25:40] they also remade Secret of Mana and it was like bland as shit yeah yeah yeah I heard it was rough but Visions of Mana from what I played the gameplay portions were fun kinda cheesy dialogue and stuff voice acting is okay it's fine if you like mana games

[00:26:00] there's a lot of references to the old ones there's even dud bears from Legend of Mana and the merchants are the same as Secret of Mana where they look like they're wearing Aladdin's clothes and doing the dance those guys shit like that it's gonna be fun I think

[00:26:18] I don't know if it's a game of the year but yeah look at that Magic the Gathering? Mana game? yeah see that's your mount I forget what the hell it's called it's got a weird name but they're cool it takes a second to summon it

[00:26:39] you gotta press and hold a button press a direction and then you play a little tune and you have to wait a sec and then it takes another second to spawn in half the time I'm like do I even get on the dog or do I just run

[00:26:54] cause this has taken too long to get back on the dog over and over it's like in Neon White where you see your own ghost in front of you beating you in time and you're just like fuck, fuck, fuck that game is so fucking awesome

[00:27:06] it reminds me of the fucking Palamute and Monster Hunter dude but you have to hold Y and then left bump and right bump to cycle through your toolbar hit down on the D pad to call your dog and then god forbid

[00:27:23] you're running or jumping in a direction away from it and then it can't catch up to you and it's like where the fuck is my dog? and then finally it does catch up to you and it's when you're trying to like jump story of my life

[00:27:35] except that's the opposite my dog is wondering where I'm at when she runs out the door she thinks that I'm right behind her never gonna fucking catch that dog my dog hates this room so she refuses to go into the recording studio I don't get it

[00:28:17] Rachel's playing Cassette Beast still on the big screen so every time I come home or like I wake up she's playing that I'll just pull out the switch and start playing Golden Sun I'm probably about two thirds of the way through the game now

[00:28:29] I'm just kinda fucking off and exploring the game is kinda old so it's like easy to get lost in so I'm getting lost quite a bit so speaking of getting lost I beat two games this week let's start with Star Wars Dark Forces which is from

[00:28:45] I'm always trying to support my boys over at Night Dive when they do their remasters I don't really like this game a whole lot because I don't know where the fuck I'm ever going at any given time about halfway through the game I just gave up

[00:28:59] and pulled up a walkthrough a point by point bullet point walkthrough some of the levels are just straightforward you just kinda go and fuck off and then you win but some of the levels the puzzles are so intricate you would have never seen

[00:29:14] you would have never figured this out unless you had like an hour to dedicate to each level and I'm like screw that but the game plays good your dedication to finishing these fucking games is just like I would have given up right at the beginning

[00:29:28] I don't even remember what I beat this year maybe Dragon's Dogma 2 I think was my I beat Metal Slug twice Metal Slug twice? would you rate it differently on each playthrough? no Jesus man my lighting is so weird let's just turn that off what was I saying?

[00:29:52] I actually still have my Dark Forces CD-ROM I could probably find it if you gave me 5 million I remember seeing this in like game stores and I had a Nintendo 64 at the time so I was always just looking at it

[00:30:04] I had no concept of what Star Wars was but it was a shooter so I was like aww this is cool I like Turok I'm big boy I can play this for one thing I couldn't even get past the third level of Turok so like but Turok's complicated

[00:30:19] this game is not as complicated but I still wouldn't have been able to beat this game either this game is not as complicated but I still wouldn't have been able to beat this game either what was this on? it was on PS1 and the DOS and shit

[00:31:56] so that they can fight the waves of enemies coming out and you're trying to purify an area have you played Tribes of Midgard? no is that a Final Fantasy 7 game? no it's like this it's like a kind of tower defense and you go out and collect items

[00:32:14] and building materials and you build your base and then you defend against waves of enemies and then you have to defend against like a titan it's all like greek like Viking mythology norse mythology like a titan or one of the big guys

[00:32:30] will come like the big fire giant will come and try to destroy your base and then you have to dodge it in VR you have to kill him before he hits your base or he'll like but it sounds a lot like that actually howl

[00:32:47] so that's just one way the thing about this game is it's like tower defense but you're actively pushing forward so the objective is to go further into the level rather than stay back while the guys come to you but the other half of the game

[00:33:01] is like a giant Yakuza mini game of restoring the villages that you've been through the villages being the levels that you've purified so it's really soothing because that dichotomy of now that I'm done with the mission I'm going to go do my little Yakuza mini game

[02:06:52] I tried to do a lightning build and that sucked ass switch to fire and I just Just demolished her the one thing that I don't like about the sorcerer is that you have to always be like at a distance

[02:07:04] And God forbid you get hit like once or twice and you're fucking dead But as long as you have teleport you're fucking it a okay It also does depend on your build though too cuz I was rocking a fire build with that fire shield and

[02:07:17] That shit kept me alive a lot too. You know what I mean? And I would with that build It's more of you're more like in their face a lot And so at least now there's more options and like the very first couple seasons Yeah, and season season two

[02:07:33] Three last season, I guess I did frost Sorcerer sorcerer and I found that vulnerability and shit. Yeah. Yeah just freezing everything Thing was I then I tried to do like the leaderboard season leaderboard I was like, oh man my built pretty sick and

[02:07:48] Everyone like the first like 800 places with all lightning. So yeah lightning is the top tier actually It was ridiculous. It's like what the why do I even it's it's not gonna go so you can get things like I'll get all the light

[02:08:01] You can get these like lightning mote things right and like they essentially Orbit your dude and then it also adds to like your lightning spells that like procs like explosions

[02:08:12] So people are just stacking on these things that are surrounding them and just like walking into enemies while also hitting them with chain Lightning so like literally you just see crit numbers just everywhere Just like all over the fucking screen and I'm like, holy tower defense

[02:08:32] There's also rogue which I played during this the seneschal season though season three which I learned rogue is Incredible burst damage if you build right? Yeah, like I went with the shadow build where

[02:08:47] The if you had the shadow thing on it explodes and then if if like when they when explosions happen It kills enemies they explode and so you can do the math of everything exploding on the screen at once all the time

[02:09:00] That was like a lot of fun to do and then you just watch Like the bosses just die in like three seconds You do a couple hits of damage and then you just shoot all your build at once and

[02:09:11] Everything's that it's crazy. I did I did poison rogue That's poison trap Yeah, and just like setting the traps and then getting the poison on and you just see like their burnt health go And then it just gets up with it and then they die Love that shit

[02:09:28] Dude, one of my favorite builds when I was when I was leveling up my necromancer for this most recent season I started with Like a like a bone spear And basically just corpses

[02:09:42] so like I would just chuck bone spear to bone spear base and just until my mana is just completely burnt and then just Corpse explosion and they're just building this minefield of corpses boom boom boom boom Annihilating waves of fucking enemies and whoop I have full man

[02:09:56] Then just yeah, just keep going bone spears in that cycle do those so fucking fun What I find it what I find incredible is the performance when all that shit is on my screen Like I'm not noticing any kind of yeah

[02:10:11] degradation or slow to like nothing like it that that blows my fucking mind Yeah, like I got fucking five thousand things on like literally a Thousand enemies on my fucking screen like that's insane to me and then all the colors and all the loop

[02:12:52] And then you I just stacked on every ability that like increases the frenzy stuff And so essentially every time I use one ability I go into a frenzy for a while I attack faster. I move faster do more damage have more health and I explode in fire
