[00:00:49] And the tornadoes they sell at the gas station, now they come and go and they spin.

[00:00:54] Yeah, which are just like, what are they actually?

[00:00:58] They're like ancient, no, taquitos?

[00:01:04] Which is cute, that's a very cute naming convention.

[00:01:08] But uh yeah there was a terrible tornado yesterday, last night.

[00:01:13] Which is why we did not finish the game of the week, spoilers for ahead.

[00:01:20] But it completely destroyed, I don't remember the name of the town, there was a town that

[00:01:25] just got obliterated off of the map.

[00:01:29] Yeah dude, isn't it crazy, I saw a bunch of before and after pictures and I was

[00:01:35] like oh shit.

[00:01:37] That's not too far away from here, from where I'm at.

[00:01:40] There was some more, there's another tornado that went down in Midwest City.

[00:01:43] I think, and then another one in Norman.

[00:01:45] Which are both like 10 minutes away, like Norman's like 8 minutes south and Midwest

[00:01:51] City is like 10 minutes east of me.

[00:01:54] I'm like fuck.

[00:01:56] So it's like you plus or minus just a few miles and you could have not been

[00:02:01] doing so well with your apartment.

[00:02:38] That's as if my bedroom doors are ever closed.

[00:02:42] Yeah but even if you live by yourself maybe you're paranoid.

[00:02:46] No I want, if someone breaks in my front door I want my dog to have the

[00:02:50] easiest time to get straight to it and then get kicked because she's not

[00:02:53] gonna attack the person.

[00:02:56] Oh yeah well I mean she barks though so she would alert you to danger.

[00:03:02] Which reminds me like every, like you know how like you'll hear some weird

[00:03:05] noise and you're like wow is my house haunted or something?

[00:03:08] Like every time I hear something I always just stare at her.

[00:03:10] I'm like is that real?

[00:03:12] And she's like, she's not paying attention.

[00:03:15] It's like schizophrenia service dogs.

[00:03:17] Like I saw a video where a guy was like hey this dog helps me with my hallucinations.

[00:03:23] If I'm seeing somebody you know in my house I can point at them and say like

[00:03:26] greet and then I look at the dog and if the dog doesn't acknowledge that someone's

[00:03:31] there then I know that it's just imagination.

[00:03:35] That's true.

[00:03:37] Oh and I use my dog to protect myself from my imagination.

[00:03:43] You couldn't do it, this is why dogs are better than cats you can't use a cat for

[00:03:46] that because cats just stare at anything like they'll stare at nothing.

[00:03:53] Yeah that's been Pet Talk and we are a video games podcast and we're gonna be

[00:03:57] talking about Orcs Must Die 3 but before we get there Nave let's just check in

[00:04:02] with what games we have been playing.

[00:04:05] So Nave what have you been playing?

[00:04:08] Well I beat Red Dead 2.

[00:04:11] I was like really close to the end whenever we last recorded and so that didn't take too

[00:04:16] much longer.

[00:04:18] It's my favorite game I've probably ever played after playing it a second time.

[00:04:23] I have a tier list that I've been I saw every game in 2024 I've been playing

[00:04:27] I'm keeping a list a lot of people do this but I'm doing it in the form of a

[00:04:31] tier list so I'm like ranking them also at the same time against each other

[00:04:36] So Red Dead was at the top of S tier above like a dragon infinite wealth above

[00:04:41] the Witcher 3 above the first season of The Walking Dead.

[00:04:46] I've been playing some fucking heat this year.

[00:04:48] So it seems like you're just going on a victory lap at this point just going back

[00:04:52] for the classics.

[00:04:53] It really does feel like that because you know I already said before I'm

[00:04:56] playing Psychonauts 2 that's the game I'm currently playing.

[00:05:00] Philip was waiting on me to finish the chapter I was on.

[00:05:03] But in between those two I decided to buy and replay Red Dead Redemption 1

[00:05:11] because I have a lot of fond memories of that game and that game is old

[00:05:16] and doesn't feel too great.

[00:05:19] It feels like a 360 game right?

[00:05:21] Yeah but it's like it genuinely the mission structure of the game feels

[00:05:25] feels like I'm I can only describe it as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas but

[00:05:32] Cowboys like it feels that old like I don't know what's changed like there

[00:05:37] it's not even crazy dissimilar to how Red Dead Redemption 2 is but Red Dead

[00:05:41] Redemption 2 has like so many good transitions in the missions and like

[00:05:44] all the missions blend so much better into the open world whereas Red Dead

[00:05:49] Redemption 1 like you go to the marker everything stops you do a cut

[00:05:52] scene that's like 10 seconds long they're like they're like greetings

[00:05:55] greetings we need to do this okay let's go do that cut scene over you go get on

[00:06:00] your horse go to the place do it and then as soon as you're done it's like

[00:06:03] oh you did the thing thank you cutscene over you're just mission

[00:06:08] accomplished here's your money it's like yeah reward respect gained it's so

[00:06:13] weird and it really pulled me out but I still put the game in a tier I

[00:06:17] beat it I also beat this game yeah well Red Dead Redemption 2 is like 80 hours

[00:06:23] long and Red Dead Redemption 1 is like 20 so the the horse thing like keep

[00:06:28] the same horse through the whole game no I I tried to because I so you have

[00:06:34] to get a new horse in an early mission like you rope your own horse

[00:06:37] and then they give it to you they're like just keep that Mustang and I

[00:06:41] was like yeah sure I'll keep the Mustang but I have like a pre-order

[00:06:43] bonus like warhorse which is like a three-star horse I think that's the

[00:06:48] best tier of horse you can get and then I was running with that that first

[00:06:51] horse for a while and then I accidentally clicked on that warhorse

[00:06:54] and it just swapped me out and I was like oh and then I have no idea where

[00:06:59] the other horse went so I guess as soon as you swap out horses you just

[00:07:02] literally can't get the other horse back but I have that warhorse for the

[00:07:05] rest of the game I just remember an online you could say your horse is

[00:07:09] like the donkey yeah I think it was a really yeah actually yeah better than a

[00:07:16] donkey I don't know and the online wasn't too great if we look at the

[00:07:21] tier list donkey solid C tier mule high B yeah not not a where the worst

[00:07:29] horse is the zebra yeah but uh right I mean red dead ones okay this the

[00:07:35] ending is still fantastic but other than that I was quite fatigued with cowboys

[00:07:42] after 130 hours yeah and so said you want to go to psychic summer camp yeah

[00:07:48] I was like I need the opposite of what I've been playing so I'm gonna play

[00:07:52] this platforming very colorful very cartoony

[00:07:56] Psychonauts 2 and then I forgot that this game is very sad as well so long

[00:08:04] long-seated family trauma with betrayal from government agencies it's

[00:08:09] great yeah so I'm probably over halfway through psycho nuts you're

[00:08:14] ready I'm on a absolute warpath when I'm not getting pulled away from

[00:08:18] these games by Philip going works or so I am fucking obliterating these

[00:08:26] really good first person or these really good triple a games I mean it goes

[00:08:30] right into the games I'm playing speaking of really good triple a I've

[00:08:34] just been playing no kind of well yeah I think Nino Cooney would count as a

[00:08:39] triple a series isn't it's bandai level five I think Nino Cooney's like

[00:08:45] a double a game like I'm playing the complete Nino Cooney to Renving

[00:08:53] Kingdom revenant excuse me the complete edition or whatever kingdom

[00:08:57] Kingmaker and it looks real good on series X which I did not know this

[00:09:02] did you know the original Nino Cooney it was like a DS or 3ds game or

[00:09:07] something like that that then got remade or like PlayStation 3 well no

[00:09:14] I'm like literally looking at that right now yeah the old one looked

[00:09:18] bad the old one was also I think level five which I wonder I think those are

[00:09:23] the same guys that do like the nine people nine doors thing is that a

[00:09:26] different group dark cloud there's one wow they're involved in a lot of fucking

[00:09:32] a professor Leighton yeah okay yes okay watch watch mentioned anyway is good I

[00:09:42] complain last time that was spent a lot of time doing side quests in the

[00:09:45] kingdom builder bullshit or whatever I'm still doing it like I have not

[00:09:48] broken away from it it's like every time a side quest pops up I just got to

[00:09:52] go do it because it makes my kingdom better and then all my my followers

[00:09:56] are subjects they call them subjects are happier you would like this game

[00:10:01] like I don't know if this would be a good streaming game unless you like

[00:10:06] mainline the story but it is it's cute and fun and yeah that is one

[00:10:12] thing that I've definitely noticed with a lot of these games especially and with

[00:10:16] like a dragon infinite wealth where I'm like doing the same thing for a long

[00:10:20] period of time I'm like this is a terrible streaming experience unless

[00:10:24] I'm like talking and interacting with like the people watching me but I am

[00:10:27] doing that already so it's like I don't know it's it's so weird I don't

[00:10:31] know what makes a good streaming game or what doesn't I don't know but

[00:10:35] whenever I'm not playing that I wanted something like this is a meaty

[00:10:39] boy Nino Cuny is so I'm like I need something lighter I need a I need a

[00:10:42] little palate cleanser a little miso soup you know to go with this fried

[00:10:47] chicken yeah so I picked up on game pass bloodstained ritual of the night

[00:10:53] which is a spiritual successor to the old Castlevanias not like the

[00:10:58] cool sexy Castlevanias where Dracula is like 3d and running around and

[00:11:02] finding those are the ugly ones yeah but like the okay well the old ones

[00:11:10] this is this one's also in 3d but it's like 2d 3d like the I think it's 2.5

[00:11:16] D well yeah I guess it's a 3d environment but you're stuck on a 2d

[00:11:21] plane going yeah good game incredible actually I really like this game I

[00:11:26] think I'm like five hours in name this game is hella good like even in

[00:11:31] Japanese it's so I have owned it for like six years and I've just played on

[00:11:35] to play it I think I think there's more than one and I think I own both of

[00:11:39] them yeah there's a there's a sequel I think this is the older well actually

[00:11:44] I'm not sure the older one because they keep referencing events that

[00:11:47] happened before like all the characters are they're like don't you remember

[00:11:50] what happened ten years ago and I'm like I don't know what happened ten

[00:11:52] years ago so maybe you ritual the night is the sequel I'm not sure I

[00:11:56] have to look I guess we could never take two seconds to check also made by level

[00:12:02] five let's see how there's so many acronyms okay there's curse of the

[00:12:08] moon in ritual the night no curse there's curse of the moon one and curse

[00:12:12] of the moon too there's a Nino Cooney anime there is there's a movie I don't

[00:12:18] know about the anime I watch this movie yeah the movie's not bad but it

[00:12:23] doesn't seem to like it's it feels like I'm gonna describe this like it has no

[00:12:29] connection to the games that's probably the best yeah I feel like these video

[00:12:34] adaptations that don't have anything to do with the games are the ones that

[00:12:38] succeed the hardest yeah it is interesting because the one that it's

[00:12:44] also an Isekai with about three friends who they go to the other

[00:12:48] world through two different accidents one I think they're about to get by

[00:12:51] car and the other one is they drive a car off a bridge crashing it into the

[00:12:56] water and both times takes them to Nino Cooney which Nino it's like the

[00:13:01] second world does Cooney mean car because why do they always have

[00:13:05] something to do with a car no that's country or kingdom so it's like the

[00:13:09] second country I guess but uh yeah in main character he's in a wheelchair

[00:13:14] and you're like you just know his legs don't work it whenever he's in

[00:13:18] real world but whenever he goes to Nino Cooney he's like a badass knight so

[00:13:23] this is so this is just yeah oh I didn't even think about God great yeah

[00:13:30] okay there's a lot of crossover without because he also meets a princess

[00:13:36] and they fall in love okay excellent no no yeah okay there might it's just

[00:13:41] avatar good job Netflix is it a Netflix original it is a Netflix

[00:13:51] ritual tonight real good it is the lightest souls like imagine if we're

[00:13:59] gonna bring Dark Souls into this which we must the thing about it is

[00:14:03] death is last save you go back to last save and there's only manual

[00:14:08] saves so you need to be aware of that this isn't like a yeah so save

[00:14:13] often is basically what it comes down to but the game is real good our style

[00:14:20] real good some of the character models a little clunky but the monsters are

[00:14:24] what makes it because they just put some some weird monsters in there

[00:14:29] there's like a giant just a cat's head with like a antlers what's it

[00:14:33] called like a jackalope but it's a cat yeah yeah there's there's a like a

[00:14:38] Yorkies head but it's detached from the body so just jumps around like a

[00:14:42] chain chomp I don't know it's a silly the silly anime Dracula game oh and

[00:14:51] everything is stained glass themed if you didn't give the connection with

[00:14:54] bloodstained because I did not make that connection at first but it's

[00:14:58] stained glass is the reference so whenever I'm not playing that nave

[00:15:02] have you heard the news about on the emulation buzz hold on wait I

[00:15:07] gotta send you a link you because you mentioned something and it sparked

[00:15:11] something in my brain I just need you to read that alright and they send me a

[00:16:29] back emulation okay so Apple has rerolled their terms of service or their

[00:16:37] app store and they're now allowing emulators on official emulators no need

[00:16:42] for siloed in your jailbreak or any crazy stuff like that and already one

[00:16:47] of the biggest emulators Delta which does Game Boy Game Boy Advance

[00:16:52] Nintendo DS Nintendo 64 and and then like a virtual boy or something like

[00:16:57] that is up on the market completely free no ads or anything no ads no Chinese

[00:17:02] trackers just free app you can go in there you can emulate your games blame

[00:17:08] on your phone ready to go and it is top of the charts for the last like

[00:17:12] week the one of the most popular sites of Vim's layer that is once again

[00:17:17] another like hey no frills if you need to download game roms this is a

[00:17:21] site for it that site went down for like two days as like they were

[00:17:25] people trying to download their their zeldas and Pokemons to play them on

[00:17:29] their iPhones by the way this has been on Android for the last 10 years yeah

[00:17:34] like I was waiting for my moment yeah like yes Android has already at this

[00:17:40] now the big thing going on is people were going what's the next step though

[00:17:45] because like this is already hit people are playing the crap out of

[00:17:49] games on here playing their DS their Pokemons all that stuff next step is

[00:17:53] you know 3ds maybe gamecube emulation PlayStation 1 has not shown up yet but

[00:17:59] it should be coming up soon PlayStation 2 and switch maybe but I'm gonna be

[00:18:04] playing switch on your iPhone 13 how would you do that with some of the

[00:18:07] games I guess I guess the iPhones have gyroscopes in them don't they they

[00:18:11] do but the big thing is is apparently Apple has a different little hitch so

[00:18:17] they're they're thrown in the wrench a wrench in the works a monkey is in

[00:18:20] the machine wrenching it up and it is I probably call it is like JIT or

[00:18:25] something like that for some ways like basically you can't access the full

[00:18:30] power of the chipset without 100% Apple approval saying that you won't you

[00:18:34] need this I don't know it's like Apple's way to keep people from

[00:18:38] melting their iPhones or something like that because like they're like a your

[00:18:42] phone will heat up if you use this for too long type deal but it's like

[00:18:46] some apps will have this authorized but a lot of them do not and it's like case

[00:18:50] by case and the dolphin community which is the GameCube emulator and Wii

[00:18:57] emulator have come on and said basically their app will not run

[00:19:01] without JIT support and Apple has not authorized them for it and so they

[00:19:06] are not going to go through with making an app at this stage because

[00:19:09] iPhones just can't run it they can't support GameCube right now with the

[00:19:13] restrictions the throttling that Apple has in place GameCube's too powerful man

[00:19:18] it's too powerful and everyone's like and with the defeat of GameCube they're

[00:19:22] like switch is impossible right I would say the GameCube's more powerful

[00:19:26] than the switch you are correct sir no okay it's not as more powerful it's

[00:19:33] that the weight so the switch is basically just a phone you know the

[00:19:37] way architecture is set up so I think literally the hardware inside of

[00:19:41] it it's like the same like chipsets that they use for phones or like it's

[00:19:45] not phones but tablets I think so we don't know who the next big you not

[00:19:50] since you died like what the next replacement switch emulators gonna be

[00:19:54] but they should actually be able to write more fish and code than the

[00:19:58] GameCube developers or game dolphin team and create a possible switch

[00:20:03] emulator on iPhones which my iPhone is already more powerful than my

[00:20:08] switch as far as like computing power so yeah we know that because we play we

[00:20:12] played Pokemon unite on both mobile yeah and you're like 14 frames on the

[00:20:17] switch and like oh no it's getting real hot for some reason feels like

[00:20:22] cheating beating those kids on the switch so we're waiting for a lot

[00:20:27] more systems basically to come to iPhone but until then I've been

[00:20:32] playing blue dragon awakened shadow which is the it's either the second

[00:20:38] or third in the series where you get to play as your OC character in the blue

[00:20:41] dragon universe and you hang out with shoe in the rest of them see I've never

[00:20:46] actually played the first blue dragon I only watched you play it back whenever

[00:20:50] you were also playing like Final Fantasy 13 I'm like what is this

[00:20:53] Japanese wee-boo trash like I'm not yeah I'm watching this isn't Dragon

[00:20:57] Ball and now you're the 13 evangelists or I like that game's bad

[00:21:03] okay I got some YouTube videos I'll send you and it'll it'll change your

[00:21:07] mind on lightning but why lightning is good I will watch those yeah but this

[00:21:21] screenshots in there and like the box art it's just a an action RPG and just

[00:21:42] so joker yeah but the game is not bad so this came out after the Xbox

[00:21:46] 361 yeah it had there were two sequels actually there's blue dragon

[00:21:52] plus and blue dragon awakened shadow I think blue dragons on sale right now

[00:21:57] because I saw people buying it on Twitter and I was gonna read I wanted

[00:22:01] replay it because of the Akira Toriyama stuff but Sandland just came out but

[00:22:06] also I'm poor and I'm I'm I'm struggling right now I'm going to three

[00:22:13] shows this week also so I am like really trying to budget right now I'm

[00:22:19] drinking water out of a McDonald's cup I don't know if you saw that it's

[00:22:25] like what are you trying to say with the drinking water things like I

[00:22:27] just can't afford my PBRs yeah I can't afford the PBRs I bought so I ordered

[00:22:33] some pizza today and I got money well this is the thing all right I'm gonna

[00:22:40] eat out a few times this week but not every day like I usually do so I'm

[00:22:45] gonna be eating wrong mostly but I ordered some pizza and the reason why

[00:22:47] is cuz I was gonna get to have them bring me three 20 ounce bottles of

[00:22:51] soda and I was going to ration them throughout the week right but

[00:22:56] so I got one for my pizza and then I put one in the fridge and when I grabbed

[00:23:00] the third one I dropped it. Were you holding it by the lid as well or something? No I was holding it by the body but it's all

[00:23:08] condensationed you know what I mean so it just slipped out of my hand as

[00:23:12] soon as I picked it up and just tumbled into the floor and so I'm

[00:23:15] gonna have hopefully I just forget about it and then I started drinking

[00:23:18] it and I don't notice it's flat. It didn't explode

[00:23:26] I mean it was in a bottle but well I mean sometimes the bottles like rupture

[00:23:29] like you've already dropped a gallon of milk no I luckily I've never dropped a

[00:23:34] gallon of milk before and they explode I bet cuz those things aren't like

[00:23:39] that's the fucking soda bottles are made different like milk jugs

[00:23:43] different are like bullshit weak plastic I don't know how to else to

[00:23:47] describe it you could crush it in one hand like that's what kind of I

[00:23:51] mean I can crush a two liter in one hand as well no not a two liter a 20

[00:23:55] ounce I mean you could squish the middle but not the top or the bottom

[00:23:58] I know what you mean reinforced yeah those are tough tough boys so that they

[00:24:04] fall out of the the soda machines better yeah how come they can get

[00:24:10] shaken up in the soda me I was watching at work there's a soda

[00:24:13] machine and they were changing out the sodas and the dude was just he he

[00:24:17] hits a switch and all the sodas come just falling out right and so I'm

[00:24:22] like how the fuck aren't they like just completely shaken up if I barely bump my

[00:24:27] fucking soda bottle it'll be completely flat but if they fall out of this what

[00:24:31] technology do they have where they able to just fall out like loosely

[00:24:35] like that I don't know I still don't understand how carbonation really works

[00:24:41] well like why does the beer fizz type stuff I think it's something to do

[00:24:46] with like the intro like the change in pressure introduces a bunch of air

[00:24:53] rushing into the thing and then it shakes it up you know what I mean and

[00:24:56] there's something like that I don't know that's interesting maybe I bet there's

[00:25:01] a million different fucking videos YouTube videos talking yeah yeah I'm

[00:25:05] having a soda spicy yeah why dude they have started uploading full episodes of

[00:25:11] Mythbusters up onto YouTube like discovery channel is no I don't know

[00:25:16] it's just Mythbusters YouTube channel I don't know well like you

[00:25:20] know Adam Savage the one of the Mythbusters yeah the one that doesn't

[00:25:25] wear actually subscribe to is a his YouTube I think it's like yeah or

[00:25:28] something like that so for a long time he'll do a bunch he does

[00:25:31] questions about Mythbusters all the time so it's like what was the most

[00:25:34] dangerous myth you ever did and he'll just like go by in the scenes about

[00:25:36] it so I'm pretty sure he's been seeing a lot of so much success that

[00:25:40] he's able to convince whoever holds the Mythbusters IP to be like upload

[00:25:45] this shit onto YouTube this is successful people will watch this and I

[00:25:49] am watching they're like and and they're like an hour long for one myth

[00:25:53] and I'm like I don't remember that I don't remember these episodes being

[00:25:58] like this I thought were they like really long I could have swore that

[00:26:02] Mythbusters episodes would have like three myths in one episode right if

[00:33:54] wish there was a like a case for iPhone that had either like a hinge

[00:58:26] the owner before so as a precaution I took out my dog pepper sprays sprayed

[00:58:40] the subdivision I mean this dog was booking it running across the street not

[00:58:56] pups and carry them the rest of the way I have to walk in the unfamiliar

[00:59:00] dogs direction to get to my house and my body is more durable than the

[00:59:04] dogs if it comes to that he's talking to about us I'm like he's a D&D

[00:59:09] character I'm zigging and zagging back and forth to avoid this dog where's the

[01:15:15] the first orcs must I came out I played this just because I needed I wanted more

[01:15:22] existed but this is a tower defense game where you're actually in the map

[01:15:26] running around shooting and stuff too so that was a pretty novel idea at

[01:15:29] the time with this and with dungeon defenders and so they both play like

[01:15:35] differently dungeon defenders is a lot more about you leveling up your

[01:15:39] character like an RPG where in this game you are just unlocking more traps

[01:15:44] and making the traps better I think I can't remember done door I can't

[01:15:50] remember dungeon defenders very well yeah oh actually I also own the second

[01:15:54] one but I only have an hour in it on steam so I guess I didn't play

[01:15:57] much of it but I have like eight hours in the first one so getting

[01:19:43] play styles in a way that like we could really specialize so like I was

[01:19:50] being very supportive and I was mostly paying attention to how the room was

[01:19:54] positioned and seeing if I could make choke points with those barricades or

[01:19:59] maybe cut off an entire path to force another path into like to make one big

[01:20:04] path rather than like four small paths and like just try and force a

[01:20:08] funnel everything but meanwhile you're watching me do that and going oh

[01:20:12] there's a big-ass choke point over here I could put a bunch of archers

[01:20:15] on this hill and then like now since Naves funneling them all this way all

[01:20:19] those archers just gonna rain hell down on them in that spot yeah which I guess

[01:20:24] we clarify like this is a tower defense the whole premises orcs are marching

[01:20:27] towards your nexus and you got to make sure they don't make it there that's

[01:20:31] the whole game or coos oh god and that's the other thing is like the

[01:20:38] work archer show up in the characters like or cool art shrew are true I

[01:20:46] don't think that's the word for archer but in this game it is I don't

[01:20:50] know the actual word for it sure though but there's a there's a congee for it

[01:20:53] anyways back to it Nave you and your barricades were imperative to our

[01:20:59] victory strategies like yeah we would not win without your labyrinth you

[01:21:04] create which we can't highlight we had several money pools which this was

[01:21:09] the issue when we played dungeons 3 was that we completely shared all

[01:21:13] resources and we could each spend money independently so it was like

[01:21:18] there was no point in any of us not you know just any money when we had it or

[01:21:23] whatever whereas this one like we each had to be careful about what we were

[01:21:26] spending if you spend all your money on barricades then I needed to make

[01:21:30] sure I'm spending my money on traps or we needed to make sure we were

[01:21:34] mixing matching because you had the upgraded barricades that took up two

[01:21:37] spaces whereas I had the single barricades that were cheaper but

[01:21:41] smaller they only take up one space so we were able like mix and match to

[01:21:46] make like optimal pathing and strategies yeah and that was some of the

[01:21:51] missions that we would do especially that there's this one huge open area

[01:21:56] that we had to funnel them all to the left side and it's like I found

[01:22:00] them all to the left side and I was like how were we supposed to do this

[01:22:03] if not this way like I don't I can't possibly imagine any other way other

[01:22:08] than funneling everyone into one big area and then killing them in like a

[01:22:11] they had I had it like a zigzag pattern that they were running through

[01:22:15] with like a tar pit in each like area it's like I don't know how this is

[01:22:19] possible any other way which those kill lanes open us up to use our little

[01:22:26] little weapons and I just use the shotgun every time because the

[01:22:29] shotgun is just good did you use any other weapons no I use the

[01:22:34] shotgun also and like I had the ice grenades as the secondary fire which

[01:22:39] that's so good being able to just make the enemy wave just stop it's

[01:22:45] great like I don't know the I don't even know what the other guns do but I

[01:22:48] assume it's not as good as I was using is I was using big explosion which

[01:22:54] knocks them all around and stuff and then makes them fly over our barriers

[01:22:57] and they sneak past us which that's the worst ones like one little guy

[01:23:00] we get past us and we wouldn't get the perfect score because you get the

[01:23:03] perfect score you get five upgraded skulls whereas if you get let one

[01:23:07] guy get past you the most you can get on a level is four and I was

[01:23:12] pretty annoying yeah and sometimes so we were using this I think what it

[01:23:17] happened once where you are always using the ceiling things that pulled

[01:23:20] them up and sometimes ever sometimes the momentum of them being pulled up

[01:23:25] would shoot them past a barricade and we wouldn't never notice it because

[01:23:29] we because no one else was ever getting past that barricade so it was

[01:23:33] like fucking annoying yeah which we go back and talk about the big battle

[01:23:38] maps they have like the previous games everything was in a dungeon and

[01:23:43] you had to defend the Nexus points and now they have like huge looks like

[01:23:48] Lord of the Rings style maps with a massive amounts of orcs on screen like

[01:23:53] I guess it's supposed to be like now that next-gen hardware is there

[01:23:56] they can actually do this with huge armies and it feels like a massive

[01:24:01] tower defense thing like this might be like the largest as far as we're

[01:24:06] like triple A's like this would be a triple A tower defense game if that

[01:24:09] that's a thing that exists you know I'd say I'd say this game is probably

[01:24:12] closer to double A but it's really cool seeing such a big map and being

[01:24:17] able to set up a huge amount of traps and everything going on like it's

[01:24:22] impressive because like I do not think you could do something like this on

[01:24:25] 360 or if you did it would be how was it warriors type games would be

[01:24:30] like the closest yeah and even though it's like you it's literally

[01:24:34] the same character model whereas like this there's lots of different character

[01:24:37] models all doing different things I think it's impressive what they're able

[01:24:40] to pull off on here yeah I think so too and we only played the first

[01:24:44] campaign I don't know how much it changes throughout the other ones and I

[01:24:48] don't I don't know if those are because I it says the main campaign

[01:24:51] that's the achievement for beating that first one so I was like okay I

[01:24:54] think the other ones were like just expansions or something because I

[01:24:57] think this game's been out for a long time yeah it's been over like

[01:25:00] Besides that I didn't have time to really plan out a whole bunch of notes

[01:25:05] for this one do you have any more me points that you got brewing oh I really

[01:25:10] talk about is like the humor in this game because this game is kind of

[01:25:12] funny but we talked about specifically it is funnier than Dungeons 3 which

[01:25:17] tries really hard to be funny but we couldn't figure out what exactly

[01:25:21] made this one better I think it's just the writing the writing is better and

[01:25:26] the delivery is better like everything is just better better than Dungeons 3

[01:25:31] yeah because like Dungeons 3 I don't know I guess they're just like foreign

[01:25:37] maybe you think maybe they're foreign and they just don't understand

[01:25:40] American humor so they're just like trying to make American humor but it's

[01:25:44] not it's just not working out whereas these guys seem to understand

[01:25:47] what makes things funny a little bit more this game just has a better sense

[01:25:53] of humor yeah there's not that many cutscenes so I mean it's like you're

[01:25:57] never really seeing any of that meanwhile in Dungeons 3 they're talking

[01:26:02] non-stop they're always talking so you're always hearing the bad writing

[01:26:06] which makes it feel worse I do appreciate the in-game dialogue in

[01:26:12] Japanese though because we played as the girl we were both a girl

[01:26:16] character which is funny cuz I could hear your voice lines when they

[01:26:18] talked as well you were just like slightly quieter when you're far away

[01:26:22] from me and when your character like blows people and stuff she's like bye

[01:26:25] bye and I'm like that's silly but when you get hit she makes the most anime

[01:26:31] screaming sound effects ever like the classic Japanese that sounds like sex

[01:26:35] noises pretty much and like God every time we get hit by an orc

[01:26:38] archer yeah I was not listening to this game really I was just listening

[01:26:43] to music the whole time we played I mean this is a great podcast game

[01:26:45] because I tried to play some of the day and I just put on a podcast

[01:26:48] while I was playing it and I got my ass kicked I was in one of the big battle

[01:26:53] maps and it did not go well seems like battle maps are cool because they give

[01:26:58] you a bunch of extra money yeah you're like 10,000 monies which is a lot you

[01:27:02] can buy a lot of traps a lot of barricades but they do more and more to

[01:27:06] stop the barricade issue for instance one enemy that I don't think

[01:27:10] you saw was there's a fire elemental that whenever he dies he

[01:27:13] splits into three smaller fire elementals that are fast and when they

[01:27:17] die they explode doing damage to your barricades so that was another thing

[01:27:22] that I had to deal with at one point it probably makes it a lot more simple to

[01:27:26] have like two people running around then and oh yeah I think it's a

[01:27:29] having another person to be able to just because you put out a lot of

[01:27:32] damage with your shotgun just shooting into the crowd it's like

[01:27:35] left for dead you just firing into the horde or war Z so having to be

[01:27:40] able makes us all better is this only to co-op player max I think so

[01:27:44] but I never like actually let me see hold on this is saying apparently on

[01:27:50] pre-launch or whatever they said they would try to they were targeting four

[01:27:57] players but they couldn't scale it correctly with like they'd have to

[01:28:01] rescale the level so they stuck with two player co-op from the developers

[01:28:04] and everyone's like why don't you just add more a steam workshop and

[01:28:09] allow people to create maps targeting four players like that would be

[01:28:13] interesting because there is a steam workshop for the second game but not

[01:28:16] for the third game it's not yet probably complicated it probably is

[01:28:21] especially just adding another player into the mix whatever I don't know also

[01:28:26] I don't know how much better this game would be with more players unless

[01:28:31] the maps were just way more complex yeah because dungeon defenders was

[01:28:34] four players I mean they do well well so the thing about dungeon

[01:28:39] defenders is that each there were four classes and each cal class had

[01:28:42] their own type of turret so what it was it was like if you were the knight

[01:28:46] you can't use the mage or the archer or the monks turrets right so it's like

[01:28:51] if you had four people you could like diversify the defense as well really

[01:28:56] what happened it was like same thing yeah we would just do like split

[01:28:59] screen and just play by yourself with two controllers oh my god this guy

[01:29:03] gotta get them achievements all right I see you found the steam review

[01:30:08] we come in here we have a lot to say usually complaining about me I wish they

[01:30:13] did this or you know I feel like we're often negative about nitpicking issues

[01:30:18] things I didn't like on the pod or maybe I just noticed the negatives more

[01:30:22] but coming in here I just don't have anything really negative to say about

[01:30:28] this game it seems quality made we had one connection issue through our

[01:30:34] whole playthrough where I disconnected and we had to restart a level which

[01:30:37] sucked or you disconnected I don't remember but that sucked but besides

[01:30:42] that we had a perfect playthrough like it's not even like perfect like we

[01:30:47] never failed because we would lose units and we even restarted levels it

[01:30:51] didn't feel bad to restart but we restarted levels so we get perfect

[01:30:55] scores it was almost like overcooked where we saw the mechanics of the

[01:31:00] game we knew what we needed to do and then we said to execute them and

[01:31:03] we were having fun while you're doing it it was a good time and even when we did

[01:31:07] restart a level we usually we weren't upset we were talking amongst ourselves

[01:31:11] going okay I think we could have did this I think like that's how you know

[01:31:15] that you're actually playing a game that like implements the strategies good

[01:31:19] is when you're discussing what you could have done rather than why you

[01:31:22] lost and like blaming the game itself yeah so I'm 100% recommend this game

[01:31:28] it's on game pass like you and a friend go play this game and you will

[01:31:31] have a good time if you enjoy this genre I don't think everyone enjoys this

[01:31:35] genre which may be the the one sticky point because this does take a certain

[01:31:39] type of gamer that's willing to deal with the arbitrary pathing of the AI

[01:31:45] and trap placement it's like oh why can't I place a trap here it's not

[01:31:49] on the grid type steel like stuff or whatever like yeah but this game it's

[01:31:53] it's so good I'm gonna keep it in some I'm really gonna finish it out

[01:31:57] on my own because I think only have like two or three more levels we

[01:32:00] really close to the end this game is good I recommend it in Japanese or

[01:32:05] English go play it yeah I agree it's also a hearty recommend for me I love

[01:32:11] tower defense games so I was happy to see this on game bus you see it's

[01:32:15] weird because like we don't usually play games together for fun as it

[01:32:20] turns out yeah we played we play games together for for content for the

[01:32:25] pod like hey man we I want to play this game because like I'll even put

[01:32:29] games that I don't really care about playing that much like Hot Wheels badass

[01:32:34] or whatever that title is like I don't particularly want to play that game but

[01:32:39] I think it could be interesting for the pod or whatever and so I would force

[01:32:43] you to play this game with me for hours and neither of us are really

[01:32:46] having that great of a time or even the quarry there was a lot of times

[01:32:50] when I wanted to stop playing the quarry we were playing it I'm glad we

[01:32:54] finished it but that was a it was a tough play for us in this game

[01:32:59] just sat there the whole time it was hard existing it's hard for me to exist

[01:33:04] through that but be able to play this game it's like there's so many days

[01:33:08] when I just like you want to play Halo infinite you know they just put

[01:33:12] out a new map we can just go play that and talk about the map like you

[01:33:15] want to play something for fun which I guess we could but we're always

[01:33:20] still in there at all yeah but man it felt so good to play this game
