[00:02:12] But before we get there, let's just check in.

[00:02:14] Steve, I watched the ending of Final Fantasy X.

[00:02:18] You played through the whole game and that ending seemed cheesy as hell.

[00:02:22] The whole game is like that.

[00:02:24] I thought Final Fantasy XIII was cheesy as hell.

[00:02:27] But then I see XIII is just more 10.

[00:02:29] Yeah.

[00:02:30] I mean, that's kind of how like 10 kind of poison the well for everything.

[00:02:34] Well really Kingdom Hearts poisoned the well for everything.

[00:02:37] So every Final Fantasy became Kingdom Hearts until except XII and XVI probably.

[00:02:44] And XIV to an extent.

[00:02:46] XIV is kind of different.

[00:02:47] But I mean, like, you know what I mean?

[00:02:48] Yeah, I get what you mean.

[00:02:50] It's more about the action and friendship and the stories we go through along the

[00:02:54] way.

[00:02:56] Whereas, you know, like XII was about, you know, was like global terrorism in

[00:03:00] the life stream and God and all that.

[00:03:04] XII is not really about anything.

[00:03:06] When you really dissect it, it's not really about anything.

[00:03:09] It says a lot of words, but it doesn't really know what the words mean.

[00:03:16] There's a part where Klaus in a wheelchair and he's a vegetable.

[00:03:18] That part was so weird.

[00:03:20] Like I'm like, what is happening?

[00:03:21] I did the naive thing where I thought I could beat a fucking RPG like in time

[00:03:26] for a fucking podcast.

[00:03:27] And I was such a fucking fool.

[00:03:29] Dude, I was complaining to Jan about that.

[00:03:31] I'm like, this fool is playing another Japanese game.

[00:03:35] And he's not the final boss.

[00:03:36] I think this is the final boss based on how many wings it has and so many wings.

[00:03:42] There's no like, I don't want to like, it's not like really a spoiler for

[00:03:46] Final Fantasy 10.

[00:03:47] It kind of is a little bit, but it's like you.

[00:03:49] I fought a boss and I was like, OK, this is the end.

[00:03:52] And then you fight.

[00:03:54] You fight sin, which is the big bad guy.

[00:03:56] And I'm like, OK, this is the end.

[00:03:58] And then the way you beat it, I'm like, OK, no, that wasn't the end.

[00:04:00] And then you fight another boss and like, OK, this is the end.

[00:04:03] And then it's like, no, now you have to go through another place where it's

[00:04:06] littered with random encounters every three steps, which has been a it has

[00:04:10] been plaguing the last like 20 hours of the game where the random encounters

[00:04:14] are turned up to fucking 700 percent, where sometimes you take one step

[00:04:19] and you get into another.

[00:04:21] It's awful to the point where I was just running away from every single encounter.

[00:04:25] I was like, I was just completely I had given up because it's every

[00:04:29] single fight lasted like 15 minutes because they petrify you and confuse you

[00:04:33] and blind you and make you berserk.

[00:04:35] And it's like, and you could die at any moment because if you get complete,

[00:04:39] if you get full team confused and Auron's on your team, he's going to one shot somebody

[00:04:43] and then someone's going to hit him and then he's going to counter one shot them.

[00:04:47] And then he's going to die to a fucking water or something.

[00:04:49] You know what I mean?

[00:04:50] And that's happened to me from experience.

[00:04:52] That is experienced.

[00:04:53] You talked about him last time before where it's like they just give you

[00:04:57] like a really strong character.

[00:04:58] It's like, well, now I use him.

[00:04:59] He's so insanely strong, but he and he could and he remained strong.

[00:05:04] The other thing I did a lot of like like extra shit.

[00:05:06] You can get like their celestial weapons.

[00:05:09] I got everyone celestial weapon and then you could upgrade them.

[00:05:12] And like I upgraded Titus's and then I was like, no more.

[00:05:16] I'm fucking done.

[00:05:17] It is like so literally I wanted to do Auron's, but I gave up like a third

[00:05:21] of the way through because you have to you have to there is a.

[00:05:25] Oh my God, there's a master capturing mechanic.

[00:05:27] Yeah.

[00:05:28] You use a weak weapon that captures the monster whenever you kill it with

[00:05:32] the weak weapon, right?

[00:05:33] You have to capture 10 monsters.

[00:05:36] I might be getting this wrong.

[00:05:37] You have to capture 10 monsters of every type of monster in an area 10 times.

[00:05:44] That's a bit much.

[00:05:45] Yeah, it's fucking stupid.

[00:05:47] Final Fantasy 10.

[00:05:48] I want this to be on the record for everybody.

[00:05:50] And I just I'm fresh off of fucking beating it.

[00:05:53] This is the middest fucking Final Fantasy that you could possibly be playing.

[00:05:56] There is so much that drags this fucking game down.

[00:05:59] It's unbelievable.

[00:06:03] I it's good to an extent.

[00:06:05] It's super cheesy if you're into that.

[00:06:07] I can see why little kids like it because it is a great kid story.

[00:06:14] But it's it's so basic and easy.

[00:06:17] But it just goes for so long.

[00:06:20] And then I know I'm I get frustrated with a lot of RPGs where

[00:06:23] like we were saying when I was like, oh, I might be spoiling

[00:06:26] a little bit, you fight sin, then you go and you fight somebody else.

[00:06:30] And then you go through a giant area where you have where you can't see the path,

[00:06:34] by the way, you're walking on an invisible water and you have to run around

[00:06:38] in fucking corkscrew maneuvers to get to the end, even though you could see

[00:06:42] the staircase right there, but you can't get there.

[00:06:45] You can't walk in a straight line and then you get to the end and you

[00:06:47] fight your you fight a boss.

[00:06:50] And then I'm like, OK, that's the end.

[00:06:52] And then it's like, no, here's the last boss.

[00:06:54] But now you have to fight every single one of your summons before you fight

[00:06:58] the last boss, then you have to fight the last boss.

[00:07:01] And I'm like, it's been like two hours.

[00:07:04] I really thought I was going to be done.

[00:07:05] Like I couldn't I can't I was right at the end.

[00:07:09] Like I was like, I know this is the point of no return when I go that way.

[00:07:13] And so I stopped last night knowing that thinking like in my naive,

[00:07:17] stupid brain that that would be maybe a 30 to 45 minute long experience.

[00:07:22] I forgot that the Japanese don't have anything better to do than play video games.

[00:07:28] So they love it when the fucking game goes on for seven fucking hours.

[00:07:32] Dude, Metal Gear Solid, Yakuza.

[00:07:35] Well, yeah, it always happens.

[00:07:37] But it's like the stereotype is that they're like always at work

[00:07:40] and like sleeping on subways and stuff like that.

[00:07:42] I don't know, man.

[00:07:43] But why do their games last so long at the end?

[00:07:46] The cutscene was like 40.

[00:07:48] OK, so and this is the amazing part, right?

[00:07:50] Every time you do a summon, you can do it.

[00:07:53] You can there's a little switch in the options for everyone.

[00:07:55] Pro tip who's going to play Final Fantasy X switch in the options that makes

[00:07:59] your summons like a third of the time like it cuts out a ton of the animation.

[00:08:03] You don't watch the space rock being cut into a perfectly shaped

[00:08:08] boulder before it gets thrown by the giga dragon into the earth causing

[00:08:12] the Dragon Ball Z explosion just to do two minute long attack.

[00:08:16] Yeah.

[00:08:17] So you can do that.

[00:08:18] But every time you summon one, there's a long animation.

[00:08:20] The first time you do it, you always see it and then it never happens again.

[00:08:23] It's perfect.

[00:08:24] Whenever you do this fight where you have to fight every single

[00:08:26] summon back to back to back to back, it does the fucking 30 second

[00:08:30] to a minute and a half intro of them fucking being spawned.

[00:08:34] It's like the animators worked really hard on these animations

[00:08:37] and you're going to enjoy them like you're going to enjoy them for one

[00:08:41] more time. And after that, there is a 15 to 20 second.

[00:08:45] They're getting possessed by the bad guy.

[00:08:48] Like animation.

[00:08:49] And then you then I was so strong.

[00:08:52] I was just like one shot, I would kill them.

[00:08:54] And then there is like a 30 second I'm dying cut scene.

[00:08:58] And then there is a 15 to 20 second.

[00:09:00] Oh, they're not possessed anymore.

[00:09:02] And then you have to unicose.

[00:09:04] Oh, I'm so sad.

[00:09:06] Oh, I'm killing my friends.

[00:09:07] Anyway, summon my next guy and then the next two minute cut scene of them

[00:09:11] being summoned and then they're getting possessed and then you one

[00:09:14] shotting them and then them dying slowly and then I mean, oh my God,

[00:09:18] dude, it's so fucking obnoxious how slow everything is in this fucking game.

[00:09:25] It's so incredibly obnoxious.

[00:09:27] You know, if you remake it with all of your emulating it,

[00:09:29] you could fast forward or if you're playing a better remake.

[00:09:32] Yeah, a better remake would have had a fast forward, dude.

[00:09:35] Video games these days respect your fucking time.

[00:09:37] This makes me I'm just looking at unicorn overlord and envy because you

[00:09:40] can from the jump fucking 10 times speed everything and skip battles and shit.

[00:09:46] I'm just like, this is a game that respects the working man.

[00:10:09] I probably did like maybe 20 for the last 15 hours.

[00:10:13] I probably did 20 random battles and I ran away from maybe 400, 500 of them.

[00:10:20] Like I was all out every fucking match.

[00:10:22] I take out everyone in my team that's fast and only Titus is there.

[00:10:26] So he's the first one.

[00:10:27] So I don't have to defend with two other people right away just to cut off on time.

[00:10:35] And then whenever we would get ambushed, I would get confused.

[00:10:38] I'm like, this is really going to affect my split.

[00:10:40] Like this is my speed runs over.

[00:10:43] Yeah, which whenever I did watch your stream, that boss music from the good.

[00:10:48] It was it was bangers that like heavy.

[00:10:50] It wasn't heavy metal just kind of like rough rock that they jam into.

[00:10:54] Like this Japanese guy going, survive.

[00:10:57] Yeah.

[00:10:59] And then you just have distorted guitar blaring in the back.

[00:11:02] This is really good.

[00:11:04] You know, look at the 10 OST.

[00:11:06] It seems like on the iTunes.

[00:11:08] I'm pretty sure they have it on Spotify.

[00:11:10] Yeah, because two Xanarkins on Spotify, because it's in my my playlists and stuff.

[00:12:40] Yeah, there's some cool story around like I didn't spoil anything specific,

[00:12:43] but like there's some cool story around Oran and like Kimari and stuff.

[00:12:47] But that's like the coolest part that and walk is racism, which I thought we

[00:12:51] get like resolved in like a cooler way, but it really didn't.

[00:12:53] He was just like, yeah, you know what?

[00:13:19] while you're driving around doing like doing side quests and getting top ramen

[00:13:23] or Nissan, I think they're Nissan ramen.

[00:15:25] And as I put I Phoenix down another person and then he fucking they did a

[00:15:30] area attack that killed both of them because they were both super low.

[00:15:32] And then I went and laid down for like 20 minutes.

[00:15:36] I literally my brain went blank and I was like, I have to lay in my bed.

[00:15:41] Like I don't I thought it was like a reptilian response

[00:15:44] to keep myself from freaking out.

[00:15:46] You had to take a recovery posture or whatever.

[00:15:49] Yeah, I laid in bed and I was reading that Halo book wherever the fuck it went.

[00:15:55] Like I've been reading that Halo book, though, New Blood.

[00:16:48] And he is like a muscle wizard, which is really cool because like his story starts

[00:16:55] out with him like this minor spoilers, I guess, starts out with him in prison

[00:16:59] in like and it's like a prison in the far north on an ice island.

[00:17:03] And he's got like a mask on so I guess he can't cast spells or something.

[00:17:08] And because he got put on trial for like burning a child along those lines.

[00:17:12] And I'm like, of course, he didn't.

[00:17:15] I assume I haven't finished his story, but I assume he didn't do it because he

[00:17:19] keeps getting flashbacks about like his apprentice and his apprentice is not

[00:17:25] seem like a rad dude in fact, but he taught him fire spells and everything else.

[00:17:31] Anyways, the suit is awesome because it's like the first thing you do is you

[00:17:35] get into like a fight with your celly because your celly steals your journal.

[00:17:40] And he's like, oh, I got the wizard's journal.

[00:17:42] And then like he goes in the fight and this is supposed to be like the tutorial

[00:17:46] fight, but yeah, but I've already been playing the game for 20 hours.

[00:17:49] So you just go in there and you just beat the dog shit out of this guy

[00:17:52] and your cell to get your journal back.

[00:17:54] And then he's like calling for guys like, help this guy is going to kill me.

[00:17:57] And I'm like, this is fantastic.

[00:17:59] Like I love an actual like a wizard story that's not about a wizard story

[00:18:04] in a I don't know, an academy or something like that.

[00:18:07] Like this isn't Harry Potter.

[00:18:08] This is like.

[00:18:10] I don't know.

[00:18:11] This is a prison break with wizards.

[00:18:57] and a half if you play the jeweled, the Microsoft version of the jeweled

[00:19:02] on in the app and you'll play level.

[00:19:05] It does not have achievements that I can tell.

[00:19:07] And it's definitely like a weird flash game version of it.

[00:19:11] It's not great.

[00:19:13] I don't know what they're what they're thinking.

[00:19:16] It's so weird if they put achievements in like Candy Crush, I'm fucked.

[00:19:20] I'm probably fucked.

[00:19:37] I've been playing in Japanese as well.

[00:19:48] I just stopped playing my PS3 completely.

[00:20:21] Kingdom Building, which is kind of strange.

[00:20:23] I haven't got to actually the Kingdom Building part, but you're like going

[00:20:27] around and gathering like a you're like forming a nation, which is really strange.

[00:20:33] But I'm only like, I don't know, six hours into this point.

[00:20:37] So that means I'm not out of the tutorial yet.

[00:20:40] I'm still in the Japanese, whatever they do or the game last 500 hours.
