[00:00.000 --> 00:30.000] I mean, have you guys ever written fan fiction? Yes. I haven't. I don't write anything. I've written fan fiction before. I'm not. What universe? Like, you don't have to really get into it. Oh, I don't know. I'm kind of curious. It's you who's a fan fiction. Yeah, I wanted, I wanted to modulate and cure you to kiss. Really bad. That has to happen in the series at some point. There's so much sexual tension, man. Like, there's been so many games. They've been in there so often. Like, there has to be some, like, accidental kiss where, like, [00:30.000 --> 00:41.000] the stigma leans into kiss, like, a pretty lady. Okay. And then, Kiru slips and falls in. Like, he shudders the mouth or something like that. There is. [00:48.000 --> 00:59.000] Monster. Who's the thing? It's Seven of Walk. Do I drink this Omega Monster? I got the big one. I got the big one. The bad dragon monster. Oh, my God. But then, if I drink it, I don't know. [01:00.000 --> 01:07.000] If I drink beers, what if I feel a little hungover at work tomorrow? What's worse, hungover or really sleepy? [01:08.000 --> 01:11.000] For your job where you spend most time driving, neither one is great. [01:12.000 --> 01:16.000] You spend it sorting and collecting mail. Yeah. Yeah. [01:17.000 --> 01:22.000] Which I'm tired of getting other people's mail. Can you, like, do something? Please stop. [01:23.000 --> 01:25.000] Please stop doing that. Dude, I do this shit a lot. [01:25.000 --> 01:32.000] This is the thing. So people are like, why is it so hard to know that Philip Beatty lives here? [01:33.000 --> 01:40.000] And I'm like, are you serious? I have 3,000 houses with at least, on average, three different names in there. [01:41.000 --> 01:49.000] And I have to remember all of them. Like, you can't cut me some slack that I forgot for one day that Steven Seagal doesn't live in this place. [01:50.000 --> 01:56.000] The way that you get them to remember is you go make a scene, Philip. You got to find your mailman, make a scene. [01:57.000 --> 02:02.000] Make sure it's in front of your mailbox. And every time they pass your mailbox, they'd be like, this motherfucker over here. [02:03.000 --> 02:07.000] I better get his shirt right because he sucks ass. And then he'll do it right. I get it. [02:08.000 --> 02:12.000] I get real weird when I see it. Like, I'll be walking the dog and I'll be like, oh, I'll just chuck the mail while I'm out. [02:13.000 --> 02:17.000] Because we have a central box that you have to go to, type deal or whatever. And I'll be walking over there. [02:17.000 --> 02:24.000] And I'll see him with like the whole thing open up and he's loading up. And then I'm like, this is awkward because I've just walked around the corner. [02:25.000 --> 02:30.000] He's right there. Make direct eye contact. He sees me. He sees my dog. And I turn around and walk you the way. [02:31.000 --> 02:32.000] He recoils at the dog. [02:33.000 --> 02:41.000] My dog then recedes to growl and throw off of the mouth. But yeah, I turn away. I can't deal with like, hi, can you hand me the mail? I'll just come back later. [02:42.000 --> 02:44.000] I don't want to do the social interaction. [02:44.000 --> 02:49.000] Well, it's good for their mail. It's so fucking annoying. The reason why it's so annoying is because it's all sorted. [02:49.000 --> 02:56.000] So when you walk under like, hey, I live in apartment 733. Can you get me my mail? And I'm going to go, oh, I'm on 205. [02:56.000 --> 03:01.000] But yeah, let me go at the 700 mail forward to find your fucking shit. [03:02.000 --> 03:05.000] Okay, good. I'm glad I did the right thing by avoiding interaction. [03:06.000 --> 03:13.000] Yeah, do you have on the inside of your box, do you have like your name written in it? Because if not, okay, well then there's no excuse. [03:13.000 --> 03:15.000] Because your name's written in it. [03:15.000 --> 03:22.000] No, like we have two notes. We have like Beatty for my last name written in there because everyone has the last name Beatty in my house. [03:23.000 --> 03:27.000] And then we have another one where we keep getting Samantha Jackson's mail or whatever. [03:27.000 --> 03:34.000] We have not Samantha Jackson like written in another note really big, but we still keep getting our mail delivered there. [03:35.000 --> 03:42.000] I would just give up and just throw away because it's just going to keep getting this is also the problem is that there's probably a multiple. [03:43.000 --> 03:51.000] Different guys working that route to so maybe one of them remembers, but not all four of them. You know what I mean? Like someone's going to not know. [03:51.000 --> 03:55.000] Here's a question I have because my. [03:55.000 --> 04:02.000] The previous owner of this house had apparently made pen pals with someone in jail. [04:02.000 --> 04:06.000] So I keep getting mail from someone in jail. [04:06.000 --> 04:10.000] I think you should take it up. I think you should just impersonate the person. [04:10.000 --> 04:12.000] You know, just be the pen. [04:12.000 --> 04:13.000] Yeah. [04:13.000 --> 04:18.000] Try and learn about who lived there before you threw them. [04:18.000 --> 04:19.000] You know. [04:19.000 --> 04:26.000] Dave, you remember like a couple years ago I was talking to you because I was trying to be a mailman when I first moved to the US. [04:26.000 --> 04:32.000] And I was like looking for a job. I failed the mailman test that they make you do online. [04:32.000 --> 04:39.000] And you can't do it for another year. You have to wait an entire year to take the test again. [04:39.000 --> 04:41.000] That's incredible. I didn't know that. [04:41.000 --> 04:42.000] Yeah. [04:42.000 --> 04:46.000] I think I skirted that. Like I got like really close to that. It's hard. [04:46.000 --> 04:52.000] Yeah, it's I did it. And I was like, this is like not that bad. Like I feel okay about this. [04:52.000 --> 04:56.000] And they were like, no, you failed that shit dude. Try again literally next year. [04:56.000 --> 04:59.000] That was whenever I because they don't tell you if you pass. [04:59.000 --> 05:01.000] I had to go to a physical place here in Oklahoma. [05:01.000 --> 05:05.000] Oh, did your old school. And so but like they didn't tell me if I passed it or not. [05:05.000 --> 05:10.000] So but I left going. Oh my God. I have to go find another job. Like there's no fucking way I bet. [05:10.000 --> 05:14.000] I did so bad because like you have to like you have to memorize so much shit. [05:14.000 --> 05:18.000] You don't realize how much memorization goes into it's fucking hard. Yeah. Anyways. [05:18.000 --> 05:21.000] Yeah, apparently I don't have what it takes. [05:21.000 --> 05:26.000] Get us out of here. God get us out of here. [05:26.000 --> 05:29.000] Hello and welcome to gaming together. Cooperative podcast. I'm your host Philip. [05:29.000 --> 05:30.000] And I'm here with my co partner. [05:30.000 --> 05:32.880] So, that's a good news. [05:32.880 --> 05:35.000] We're going to be talking about the game and the game's going to be the game. [05:35.000 --> 05:39.000] And we are going to be talking about the game and we're going to be talking about the game. [05:39.000 --> 05:41.000] And I'm going to be talking about that. [05:41.000 --> 05:44.000] You're going to be talking about the game and what's going on in our native each pod. [05:44.000 --> 05:47.000] We play through a quite experienced and related you the listener. [05:47.000 --> 05:49.000] This game is a criminal of criminal crime of co op. [05:49.000 --> 05:51.000] There's something better off plain solo. Hey, Dave. [05:51.000 --> 05:54.000] I'm hung over, but we've got guests. So that doesn't matter. [05:54.000 --> 05:59.000] Yeah, we do have guests. We have the Brian Shiny Dave Jackson. Welcome to the pod. [05:59.000 --> 06:00.920] It was like Resident Evil or something. [06:00.920 --> 06:01.760] Fall on Tommy. [06:01.760 --> 06:04.100] I think Fall Guys is the last time. [06:04.100 --> 06:05.600] I'm sorry. [06:05.600 --> 06:08.660] It was awhile ago. [06:08.660 --> 06:09.660] It's alright. [06:09.660 --> 06:10.660] Yeah, it's alright. [06:10.660 --> 06:12.880] And also we have Chris from One Hour One Decision. [06:12.880 --> 06:13.880] Welcome Chris. [06:13.880 --> 06:18.120] Gentlemen, it's good to see you again. [06:18.120 --> 06:20.480] It was funny was I was looking for guests. [06:20.480 --> 06:21.480] I got day. [06:21.480 --> 06:25.280] I was like, I need Dave on because literally if the listener wants to know the only reason [06:25.280 --> 06:28.600] at this point that I'm finding not not the only reason why I'm finding guests but the [06:28.600 --> 06:30.520] The reason why I'm picking them is specifically [06:30.520 --> 06:32.840] so that I can put them in battles to the death and AI. [06:32.840 --> 06:35.040] I'm like, held, bent, and driven on that. [06:35.040 --> 06:36.960] You're collecting them like Pokemon cards. [06:36.960 --> 06:39.720] You gotta build out the gladiator stables. [06:39.720 --> 06:43.200] Yeah, and so when I got Dave, I needed Dave on the show. [06:43.200 --> 06:44.800] It's been so long since you've been on anyways. [06:44.800 --> 06:46.520] And then I was like, okay, who else? [06:46.520 --> 06:48.720] And I flipped through the roster and I was like, we need Chris. [06:48.720 --> 06:51.800] And I wrote, I wrote in one hour to see one, [06:51.800 --> 06:54.080] I have a little list of all the guests I've had so far, [06:54.080 --> 06:58.160] the roster, and I wrote Chris's name as something else. [06:58.160 --> 06:59.000] I don't remember. [06:59.000 --> 07:00.520] It was like, Kevin or something. [07:00.520 --> 07:01.680] I don't know what I did. [07:01.680 --> 07:03.520] And then I wrote one hour one decision. [07:03.520 --> 07:05.840] And so I didn't know Chris had already been on. [07:05.840 --> 07:08.360] And then I saw that and I was like, who the fuck is this? [07:08.360 --> 07:10.880] It was like someone that I've never talked to before. [07:10.880 --> 07:11.920] So I don't know what I was doing. [07:11.920 --> 07:14.720] I must have been listening to a YouTube video or something. [07:14.720 --> 07:16.000] And some other name came in. [07:16.000 --> 07:18.240] You know when you're talking and typing at the same time [07:18.240 --> 07:20.440] and then you start typing what you're saying out loud [07:20.440 --> 07:21.720] and you're like, oh wait, that's not right. [07:21.720 --> 07:23.280] Someone would say, anyway. [07:24.720 --> 07:26.960] Well, we are taking a bit of time off this week [07:26.960 --> 07:29.680] just we're going to be talking about some am I the assholes. [07:29.680 --> 07:30.720] But before we get there, [07:30.720 --> 07:32.960] let's just check in with what games we've been playing. [07:32.960 --> 07:35.200] Nave, what have you been playing? [07:35.200 --> 07:38.920] Well, everybody knows that I'm still playing infinite wealth. [07:38.920 --> 07:41.640] I literally just unlocked, I'm like 30 hours in [07:41.640 --> 07:43.560] and I just unlocked this island that you get to, [07:43.560 --> 07:46.600] which is basically the Animal Crossing minigame. [07:46.600 --> 07:50.200] And I have been playing it for like 13 hours. [07:50.200 --> 07:53.200] Like I'm hard stuck on this minigame. [07:53.200 --> 07:54.840] I can't leave. [07:54.840 --> 07:56.000] It's really good. [07:56.000 --> 07:59.680] It's literally just Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon, [07:59.680 --> 08:01.200] kind of, had a baby. [08:01.200 --> 08:03.560] And then like you, but what's crazy is you know how [08:03.560 --> 08:05.160] there's like the Pokemon minigame. [08:05.160 --> 08:07.080] I don't know how much I've said last week, [08:07.080 --> 08:09.360] but there's like a Pokemon minigame where you go around [08:09.360 --> 08:11.280] instead of capturing them with Poke Balls, [08:11.280 --> 08:14.960] you give them contracts and convince them to join you. [08:14.960 --> 08:16.080] Are they actually critters? [08:16.080 --> 08:17.160] Or are they like people? [08:17.160 --> 08:19.520] They're just people, you know how, [08:19.520 --> 08:21.520] because everyone has this, [08:21.520 --> 08:24.280] because Ichiban is notoriously schizophrenic. [08:24.280 --> 08:26.800] And so he sees them all as like these crazy, [08:26.800 --> 08:28.760] like dressed up like characters. [08:28.760 --> 08:31.080] So all of the people are just the crazy, [08:31.080 --> 08:33.400] like there's a homeless person in a sleeping bag, [08:33.400 --> 08:35.240] like he's just in it. [08:35.240 --> 08:36.400] Yeah. [08:36.400 --> 08:37.240] But he looks like a, [08:37.240 --> 08:38.560] he looks like a worm, [08:38.560 --> 08:40.560] like a character in a sleeping bag. [08:40.560 --> 08:41.800] Yeah, that's pretty good. [08:41.800 --> 08:43.360] Well, of course we know in like a dragon, [08:43.360 --> 08:44.840] that's how we know that Chinese people [08:44.840 --> 08:46.880] are weak to electricity, right? [08:46.880 --> 08:47.720] Is that how it goes? [08:47.720 --> 08:49.040] What? [08:49.040 --> 08:51.320] Yeah, like everyone still has this. [08:51.320 --> 08:53.000] Oh, they still have it. [08:53.000 --> 08:53.840] It's so good. [08:54.680 --> 08:57.040] But anyway, you can use those Pokemon you catch [08:57.040 --> 08:58.760] and put them to work in your island. [08:58.760 --> 09:01.640] This was in development before Powerworld. [09:01.640 --> 09:03.040] Yeah, like this is crazy. [09:03.040 --> 09:04.320] Oh, okay. [09:04.320 --> 09:05.640] Powerworld was ripping off, [09:05.640 --> 09:07.200] we were all looking at Pokemon, [09:07.200 --> 09:09.280] Powerworld was ripping off like a dragon. [09:09.280 --> 09:11.640] Yeah, a whole lot. [09:11.640 --> 09:12.840] How did you take this go? [09:12.840 --> 09:14.000] Yeah. [09:14.000 --> 09:15.280] I've literally done nothing, [09:15.280 --> 09:16.120] but that item. [09:16.120 --> 09:18.000] Has the pocket circuit returned yet? [09:18.000 --> 09:18.920] That's a good question. [09:18.920 --> 09:20.280] I don't know pocket circuit. [09:20.280 --> 09:21.600] I haven't seen it. [09:21.600 --> 09:22.760] I haven't seen it. [09:22.800 --> 09:24.360] Anyways, but Dave Jackson, [09:24.360 --> 09:26.480] he also has infinite wealth written down [09:26.480 --> 09:27.920] so we can just jump straight to him. [09:27.920 --> 09:28.760] Oh yeah. [09:28.760 --> 09:29.760] Have you seen pocket circuit? [09:29.760 --> 09:31.520] I have not seen pocket circuit, [09:31.520 --> 09:35.360] but I am way behind you in the game. [09:35.360 --> 09:38.280] I've only played about 10 hours since it came out. [09:39.280 --> 09:41.640] Which, yeah, I've only played about 10 hours [09:41.640 --> 09:42.680] in the last week. [09:42.680 --> 09:44.280] That's the kind of hold that [09:44.280 --> 09:46.920] the doctor's it has on people when it comes out. [09:46.920 --> 09:48.760] So I'm still in like, [09:48.760 --> 09:50.880] I think I'm still in chapter three. [09:51.080 --> 09:53.880] I only have three party members right now. [09:53.880 --> 09:56.640] And I'm just doing a bunch of side quests. [09:56.640 --> 09:58.160] I, last time I played, [09:58.160 --> 10:02.480] I found the sicko snap trolley photography. [10:02.480 --> 10:03.320] It was a fill up. [10:03.320 --> 10:04.680] Did we talk about this yet? [10:04.680 --> 10:07.280] No, is this just like a dead rising? [10:07.280 --> 10:09.560] No, it's by taking photos or what? [10:09.560 --> 10:11.240] Well, you get points by taking photos, [10:11.240 --> 10:13.880] but it's like explicitly like Pokemon snap. [10:13.880 --> 10:16.080] Like you're on rails on this. [10:16.080 --> 10:17.880] So it's just like an on rail shooter? [10:17.880 --> 10:18.720] Pokemon snap. [10:18.960 --> 10:21.080] Sightseeing trolley in Hawaii. [10:21.080 --> 10:25.920] And you have to take pictures of these perverts [10:25.920 --> 10:27.080] that are out in the street, [10:27.080 --> 10:30.000] like in the underwear and just like gyrating around [10:30.000 --> 10:32.360] or like hanging from light poles. [10:32.360 --> 10:34.800] Or doing handstands and windows. [10:34.800 --> 10:36.360] Yeah, it's so, [10:36.360 --> 10:38.840] and the animations on them are so, [10:38.840 --> 10:40.280] they're simple, [10:40.280 --> 10:41.920] but they're very funny, [10:41.920 --> 10:43.560] even though it's like a very simple, [10:43.560 --> 10:46.120] just a dude kind of doing a tiny little dance or something. [10:46.120 --> 10:47.600] He had a jig. [10:47.640 --> 10:49.120] They're so funny. [10:49.120 --> 10:51.000] And this is, and it's like, [10:51.000 --> 10:52.720] you get on this like trolley, [10:52.720 --> 10:54.560] and there's this old man who's passionate [10:54.560 --> 10:58.320] about photographing these sickos, [10:58.320 --> 10:59.680] as they call them in the game. [10:59.680 --> 11:01.080] That's the word they use. [11:01.080 --> 11:01.920] That's the word. [11:01.920 --> 11:04.360] Yeah, and yeah, so I found that [11:04.360 --> 11:06.400] that's been the most recent development [11:06.400 --> 11:07.720] in infinite wealth. [11:07.720 --> 11:10.400] And should go without saying that I love it, [11:10.400 --> 11:11.880] it's the best game ever made [11:11.880 --> 11:14.160] just from that mini game alone. [11:14.160 --> 11:16.600] It is just shocking how good infinite wealth is. [11:16.600 --> 11:17.880] Like, I don't, [11:17.880 --> 11:20.800] especially with the games I was playing like surrounding it. [11:20.800 --> 11:23.720] Yeah, I don't, I don't understand how [11:23.720 --> 11:25.800] these guys just have such a, [11:25.800 --> 11:29.240] such a finger on the pulse of the gaming industry. [11:29.240 --> 11:30.960] These guys are as helpful as that is. [11:30.960 --> 11:31.960] Yeah. [11:32.880 --> 11:35.880] Well, this just sounds like a high budget, [11:35.880 --> 11:39.160] what's a goat simulator or something like that? [11:39.160 --> 11:41.360] Yeah, what's goat simulator was AAA? [11:41.360 --> 11:43.040] Yeah, but it's like, [11:43.040 --> 11:44.520] they take all these things, [11:44.520 --> 11:45.920] so they took Pokemon Snap, [11:45.920 --> 11:50.080] but like Sicko Snap is more fun to me [11:50.080 --> 11:52.800] than the most recent Pokemon Snap game. [11:52.800 --> 11:53.800] Yeah, that's the game. [11:53.800 --> 11:55.720] Oh my God, so good. [11:55.720 --> 11:57.640] So they did that. [11:57.640 --> 12:00.040] And then they took Animal Crossing, [12:00.040 --> 12:02.000] but they made it like, [12:02.000 --> 12:03.400] they made it good apparently [12:03.400 --> 12:06.360] because Naves played it for 13 hours straight. [12:06.360 --> 12:08.200] Like, so like they're taking all these things [12:08.200 --> 12:11.320] and like putting their like Yakuza parody spin [12:11.320 --> 12:12.840] on all these established games, [12:12.840 --> 12:14.600] but they're doing, they're, it's good. [12:14.600 --> 12:16.800] It's not just like bullshit that they threw together [12:16.800 --> 12:18.480] in half an hour or something. [12:18.480 --> 12:21.120] It's incredible because every single Yakuza game, [12:21.120 --> 12:22.560] to my knowledge, I don't remember, [12:22.560 --> 12:25.240] I played them all, but they all run together, [12:25.240 --> 12:26.080] especially in the middle. [12:26.080 --> 12:28.040] But like, almost every single Yakuza game [12:28.040 --> 12:31.960] has their own dedicated, very intricate mini game. [12:31.960 --> 12:33.800] That is that game's mini game. [12:33.800 --> 12:36.480] And this like the, like a Dragon Seven, [12:36.480 --> 12:37.520] the first Ichibon game, [12:37.520 --> 12:39.040] that one had the Confections, [12:39.040 --> 12:40.360] the cookie store that you make it in high. [12:40.360 --> 12:41.960] Yeah, the Disney or Sminigame, yeah. [12:42.600 --> 12:45.040] It's like all of these mini games could be games [12:45.040 --> 12:46.240] by themselves. [12:46.240 --> 12:49.840] Like, that's how insane this franchise is. [12:49.840 --> 12:52.680] Every single time I always, like no matter what it's been, [12:52.680 --> 12:55.000] I always get very hooked on it [12:55.000 --> 12:56.720] and I have to just complete it [12:56.720 --> 13:00.240] and then go into chapter six with $2 million, [13:00.240 --> 13:02.320] $2 million to the end, you know what I mean? [13:02.320 --> 13:03.240] Yeah. [13:03.240 --> 13:04.080] Yeah, exactly. [13:04.080 --> 13:07.360] Yeah, in Yakuza like a Dragon, [13:07.360 --> 13:10.240] I played that game for like 60 hours [13:10.280 --> 13:12.960] and I think 20 of that was the business mini game. [13:12.960 --> 13:15.680] Like I had to be the best in the business mini game. [13:15.680 --> 13:17.680] Did you take the test and everything too? [13:17.680 --> 13:19.720] I did take all the tests, yeah. [13:19.720 --> 13:21.520] I think that's making a return in this game. [13:21.520 --> 13:23.680] But like I said, I haven't been back to Hawaii [13:23.680 --> 13:25.400] since I got stranded on that island. [13:25.400 --> 13:28.640] So I saw it in the distance. [13:28.640 --> 13:30.520] I was like, I think that's a test taking place, [13:30.520 --> 13:34.800] but I got to go back and I got to go farm my don't go snuts [13:34.800 --> 13:36.920] or whatever the fuck it's called in that game. [13:36.920 --> 13:37.760] Yeah. [13:37.760 --> 13:38.960] Yeah, I'm hoping to play more, [13:38.960 --> 13:40.720] but I'm taking my time with this one. [13:40.720 --> 13:42.400] It's going to take me like several months [13:42.400 --> 13:43.240] to get through it. [13:43.240 --> 13:44.720] I don't want to rush through it. [13:45.680 --> 13:48.280] And then, yeah, the other game I've been playing [13:48.280 --> 13:49.200] is God Hand. [13:49.200 --> 13:51.160] Anyone play God Hand before? [13:51.160 --> 13:52.000] No. [13:52.000 --> 13:52.840] I've seen many videos. [13:52.840 --> 13:54.680] Sounds familiar though. [13:54.680 --> 13:59.560] Yeah, it's an old PS2 Capcom Clover Studios game. [13:59.560 --> 14:03.520] It's basically like think about Resident Evil 4 [14:03.520 --> 14:06.800] and imagine, so Resident Evil 4 is a third person shooter. [14:06.800 --> 14:08.800] Imagine if there was Resident Evil 4, [14:08.800 --> 14:12.200] but only Melee combat and that's God Hand. [14:12.200 --> 14:15.720] Because it plays the same as the original RE4, [14:15.720 --> 14:18.120] but it's all punching and kicking. [14:18.120 --> 14:21.920] And it has this like ridiculous goofy tone to it. [14:22.760 --> 14:25.560] It is like the least serious game ever made. [14:26.680 --> 14:29.800] And as far as like action games go, [14:29.800 --> 14:33.040] it's really deep, really satisfying, [14:33.040 --> 14:35.720] really customizable action combat system. [14:35.720 --> 14:37.800] Like you have like a six hit combo. [14:37.800 --> 14:40.960] If you hit square six times, you'll do a six hit combo. [14:40.960 --> 14:45.800] But you can like customize what each step in that combo is [14:45.800 --> 14:47.440] with like different moves and stuff. [14:47.440 --> 14:48.280] It's super cool. [14:48.280 --> 14:49.200] Oh, it's a lot of detail. [14:49.200 --> 14:50.040] Yeah. [14:50.040 --> 14:52.200] And you can do a bunch of moves [14:52.200 --> 14:54.400] that like kick people into the sun. [14:54.400 --> 14:56.720] So that's great. [14:56.720 --> 14:57.560] Is it? [14:57.560 --> 14:58.400] Yeah. [14:58.400 --> 14:59.240] Okay. [14:59.240 --> 15:00.080] I said it's not serious at all. [15:00.080 --> 15:01.400] So like let me paint a picture for you. [15:01.400 --> 15:05.440] Some of the enemies I fought in the last couple play sessions, [15:05.640 --> 15:10.640] I fought a mini version of the power Rangers twice. [15:12.160 --> 15:17.160] I fought a big fat cigar smoking guy whose name is Elvis. [15:17.200 --> 15:19.280] And then in the soundtrack when you're fighting him [15:19.280 --> 15:21.760] is this Elvis impersonator vocals going, [15:21.760 --> 15:25.240] boop, boop, doop, doop, doop, doop, doop, doop, doop, doop. [15:25.240 --> 15:27.040] But it's like not an Elvis song [15:27.040 --> 15:29.440] that those vocals are in, very weird. [15:29.440 --> 15:31.920] I fought the three evil stooges [15:31.920 --> 15:36.520] and a luchador mask wearing gorilla. [15:36.520 --> 15:37.360] Yeah. [15:37.360 --> 15:38.480] I see the pictures of the gorilla. [15:38.480 --> 15:39.480] Yeah. [15:39.480 --> 15:41.440] So that's the kind of game we're talking about here [15:41.440 --> 15:42.680] and it fucking rules. [15:43.680 --> 15:46.240] Yeah, sets in tack made a video on it Phillip. [15:46.240 --> 15:47.320] So yeah, I see that. [15:47.320 --> 15:48.880] That's the kind of game that is. [15:48.880 --> 15:49.720] Yeah. [15:49.720 --> 15:51.240] So that's what I got. [15:51.240 --> 15:52.960] I've been streaming a God hand. [15:52.960 --> 15:55.760] So that's been fun to share that with everybody. [15:56.760 --> 15:58.320] I'm definitely gonna have to look into this. [15:58.320 --> 16:00.720] I've been really into emulation lately. [16:00.720 --> 16:01.920] Yeah, yeah. [16:01.920 --> 16:05.120] Which is really like totally like from your streaming, [16:05.120 --> 16:07.080] I saw that you have a YouTube channel like, [16:07.080 --> 16:09.360] cause I think that YouTube just recently [16:09.360 --> 16:11.160] do the RSS feed stuff. [16:11.160 --> 16:13.200] Yeah, like in the last couple of months. [16:13.200 --> 16:14.280] Yeah. [16:14.280 --> 16:17.280] Yeah, cause I went back as Phillip added all the videos [16:17.280 --> 16:18.640] and now that that's happened, I was like, [16:18.640 --> 16:22.680] okay, well now I can go through and like clean up the channel. [16:22.680 --> 16:26.800] We have our playlist of all the places that I've guessed it on. [16:26.800 --> 16:29.720] Turns out a lot of shows don't put their shit up on YouTube [16:29.720 --> 16:30.800] just like we weren't. [16:30.800 --> 16:32.880] But then I looked at the tells from the backlog seven, [16:32.880 --> 16:35.120] all everything was like two weeks ago, three weeks ago. [16:35.120 --> 16:36.280] And I was like, what? [16:36.280 --> 16:37.640] Oh, that was me. [16:37.640 --> 16:40.440] Yeah, I think I set that up maybe three weeks ago now. [16:40.440 --> 16:41.400] So yeah. [16:41.400 --> 16:43.920] Yeah, Google is your Google, is it Google? [16:43.920 --> 16:45.960] I think they're getting rid of like Google podcast [16:45.960 --> 16:46.800] or something like that. [16:46.800 --> 16:49.480] It's still getting rolling to YouTube. [16:49.480 --> 16:53.800] Like all podcasts from Google podcast will be YouTube based. [16:53.800 --> 16:56.160] So it'll just be YouTube podcast now, [16:56.160 --> 16:57.440] which is interesting. [16:57.440 --> 17:00.280] Bring on those copyright strikes for everybody. [17:00.280 --> 17:02.840] I can't wait for the ads to be put in just like, [17:02.840 --> 17:03.920] you need to skip the ad. [17:03.920 --> 17:05.720] If you want to keep listening to your podcast. [17:05.720 --> 17:06.560] Yeah. [17:07.520 --> 17:08.360] Oh, interesting. [17:08.360 --> 17:11.360] This was the last Shinji Mikami game on Capcom. [17:11.360 --> 17:15.800] Is the last Clover Studios game like after Okami [17:15.800 --> 17:17.320] and stuff like that. [17:17.320 --> 17:20.000] And yeah, Shinji Mikami directed it. [17:20.000 --> 17:22.200] Like I said, it's like when you play it, [17:22.200 --> 17:24.640] if you've played the original Resident Evil 4, [17:24.640 --> 17:26.440] it feels exactly the same, [17:26.440 --> 17:29.640] except you punch and kick instead of shoot guns. [17:29.640 --> 17:30.840] That's pretty cool. [17:30.840 --> 17:31.960] Yeah, it's tight. [17:33.040 --> 17:35.200] Have you guys been on Twitter lately? [17:35.200 --> 17:36.040] No. [17:36.040 --> 17:36.880] Yeah, dude. [17:36.880 --> 17:37.720] All day, every day. [17:37.720 --> 17:39.080] What's all I got? [17:39.080 --> 17:39.920] Well, this is the thing. [17:39.920 --> 17:41.760] So the last two, today and yesterday, [17:41.760 --> 17:43.760] I was like, man, I'm having a good day. [17:43.760 --> 17:45.560] Absolutely no time on Twitter yesterday. [17:45.560 --> 17:46.720] I went and seen tool. [17:46.720 --> 17:48.080] I went and played pinball with my mom. [17:48.080 --> 17:49.920] I had took my mom out to an awesome day. [17:49.920 --> 17:52.480] We went and walked around downtown and stuff. [17:52.480 --> 17:53.320] Eight food. [17:53.320 --> 17:54.560] We had a nice day. [17:54.600 --> 17:56.560] And then today, I wasn't on Twitter all day, [17:56.560 --> 17:57.880] just playing like a dragon, whatever. [17:57.880 --> 17:59.520] And then right before we're getting on the podcast, [17:59.520 --> 18:01.680] I was like, I should scroll through Twitter [18:01.680 --> 18:02.960] and see what's going on. [18:02.960 --> 18:04.000] Just in case there's something [18:04.000 --> 18:05.120] that I should talk about on the show. [18:05.120 --> 18:10.120] And now, and the news right now is that it looks like Starfield [18:10.880 --> 18:12.240] is gonna end up on PlayStation 5. [18:12.240 --> 18:14.120] Yeah, I saw that. [18:14.120 --> 18:16.720] And it's just Twitter's in meltdown mode. [18:16.720 --> 18:19.400] And now, suddenly, I'm not having a good day anymore [18:19.400 --> 18:21.920] that I'm scrolling through all of this. [18:21.920 --> 18:23.680] Wonder if there's a correlation. [18:23.680 --> 18:26.000] Were we not expecting it to come PlayStation 5? [18:27.080 --> 18:29.640] So I shared a tweet from Aaron, [18:29.640 --> 18:31.360] what is it, Aaron Greenberg, I think? [18:31.360 --> 18:34.240] Where he, like two years, a year ago or two years ago, [18:34.240 --> 18:37.120] he flat out was like, this game is exclusive to Xbox. [18:37.120 --> 18:38.880] It is not coming to other consoles. [18:38.880 --> 18:41.520] And then now, I went back, I'm like, is that real? [18:41.520 --> 18:43.520] And then I looked it up and there it was. [18:43.520 --> 18:46.480] I found it and I'm like, oh, it is real. [18:46.480 --> 18:47.960] This makes me angry. [18:49.240 --> 18:51.320] I normally am like, yeah, everyone should be playing the games, [18:51.320 --> 18:52.480] but it's like, dude. [18:53.480 --> 18:56.200] What's going on with Microsoft's internal communications? [18:56.200 --> 18:59.040] Dave knows I'm incredibly critical of PlayStation. [18:59.040 --> 19:01.280] So I got a slap at fucking Xbox [19:01.280 --> 19:03.720] whenever they do the shit that makes me mad too. [19:03.720 --> 19:07.080] And man, do these guys, man, is this making me mad? [19:07.080 --> 19:10.240] Yeah, I mean, I personally, I don't give a shit. [19:10.240 --> 19:14.680] I have no opinion whatsoever, except it's pretty shitty [19:14.680 --> 19:18.800] for them to be like, you need to buy an Xbox [19:18.800 --> 19:20.040] so you can play Starfield [19:20.080 --> 19:22.040] because it'll never be on the other console [19:22.040 --> 19:23.280] that you might have. [19:23.280 --> 19:26.280] And then they're like, oh, psych, the game's been out [19:26.280 --> 19:27.560] for two months, so. [19:27.560 --> 19:28.400] It's so annoying. [19:28.400 --> 19:30.480] It's the same thing where someone was criticizing me. [19:30.480 --> 19:31.640] I don't remember who it was. [19:31.640 --> 19:34.640] But because I don't think about my ops, [19:34.640 --> 19:36.200] I just think about what they say. [19:36.200 --> 19:39.040] But they were saying that they're like, why? [19:39.040 --> 19:41.800] They were like, why did you, why do you, [19:41.800 --> 19:44.440] why are you going to Bafferet, Microsoft with the layoffs? [19:44.440 --> 19:46.960] But you were mad at when Destiny, what is it? [19:46.960 --> 19:48.840] Bungie, Bungie was laying off people. [19:48.840 --> 19:51.520] And I was like, well, specifically that situation, [19:51.520 --> 19:54.640] Bungie swore that they weren't going to lay people off [19:54.640 --> 19:55.600] and then they did. [19:55.600 --> 19:56.880] That's why I was annoyed. [19:56.880 --> 19:59.240] Cause they said one thing and then did a different thing. [19:59.240 --> 20:02.280] When the Microsoft thing happened, I was like, oh, I just, [20:02.280 --> 20:05.000] like whenever you, whenever every, what is it? [20:05.000 --> 20:07.200] Whenever mergers and acquisitions happen, [20:07.200 --> 20:08.120] there's going to be layoffs. [20:08.120 --> 20:10.040] Everybody, most people are aware of that. [20:10.040 --> 20:15.040] So I don't like it, but I knew that it was going to happen. [20:15.120 --> 20:16.960] Meanwhile, I thought the Bungie thing was like, [20:17.000 --> 20:19.000] oh, that's really cool that they're keeping their people [20:19.000 --> 20:19.840] like that. [20:19.840 --> 20:20.680] Like that's really awesome. [20:20.680 --> 20:21.920] And then they're like, actually no one. [20:21.920 --> 20:23.880] It reminds me of, I know I'm going to rant now, [20:23.880 --> 20:27.680] but it reminds me of, what is that, get crash team racing? [20:27.680 --> 20:29.600] Whenever they came out and it was great [20:29.600 --> 20:30.680] and everyone gave good reviews. [20:30.680 --> 20:33.200] And then a month later, they added microtransactions [20:33.200 --> 20:35.960] after all of the good reviews and good news and stuff. [20:35.960 --> 20:40.400] It's like, all I'm very consistent about how I feel [20:40.400 --> 20:42.280] about things I feel like, if I could just at least [20:42.280 --> 20:44.560] describe how I'm thinking about it, I feel. [20:45.400 --> 20:47.560] Yes, once again, Twitter bad. [20:47.560 --> 20:48.560] I got you. [20:48.560 --> 20:50.560] Twitter bad. [20:50.560 --> 20:52.560] So I'll jump into games I've been playing. [20:52.560 --> 20:54.560] I'm still playing Resident Evil 2. [20:54.560 --> 20:56.560] I'm running through Leon A still. [20:56.560 --> 20:58.560] I just made it to the sewers. [20:58.560 --> 21:00.560] And I'm doing like a full clear. [21:00.560 --> 21:03.560] Like I have gone like every gun, every unlock. [21:03.560 --> 21:06.560] Like I'm doing much better than my clear playthrough, [21:06.560 --> 21:10.560] except for some reason, like Leon's play through [21:10.560 --> 21:12.560] is much harder than Claire's. [21:13.560 --> 21:15.560] Like I don't know if you experienced this, but Claire's. [21:15.560 --> 21:16.560] I had no issues. [21:16.560 --> 21:18.560] I have died multiple times as Leon. [21:18.560 --> 21:21.560] That's why I didn't die once as Claire. [21:21.560 --> 21:25.560] I played this recently for the first time and I played Leon A also [21:25.560 --> 21:29.560] and I got fucking destroyed like so many times. [21:29.560 --> 21:30.560] I know. [21:30.560 --> 21:31.560] And like I don't know what's going on with me. [21:31.560 --> 21:36.560] I also got destroyed on the Claire B route many, many times too. [21:36.560 --> 21:39.560] But like I did ask people like before I started playing, [21:40.560 --> 21:42.560] is there like a canon first one to play? [21:42.560 --> 21:45.560] And people are like, not really, but Leon's is kind of harder. [21:45.560 --> 21:46.560] So maybe don't start with that. [21:46.560 --> 21:50.560] But I had already started by that point because I asked a question [21:50.560 --> 21:52.560] and no one answered me within 30 seconds. [21:52.560 --> 21:53.560] So I started. [21:53.560 --> 21:56.560] That's always how it goes. [21:56.560 --> 21:58.560] I put up a poll. [21:58.560 --> 22:00.560] It's like what game should I play next? [22:00.560 --> 22:02.560] And I've just I've already know. [22:02.560 --> 22:03.560] I don't know why I put this poll up. [22:03.560 --> 22:05.560] So I was just going to start playing it anyway. [22:05.560 --> 22:06.560] Yeah, it's the illusion of choice. [22:06.560 --> 22:07.560] Yeah. [22:08.560 --> 22:11.560] I know I asked the group chat like, Hey, which one should I start [22:11.560 --> 22:12.560] with Lee on a Claire? [22:12.560 --> 22:13.560] Same question. [22:13.560 --> 22:16.560] And they put out there whichever one you're sexually attracted to. [22:16.560 --> 22:18.560] I'm like, but I'm already playing Claire's. [22:21.560 --> 22:25.560] He is like it is funny. [22:25.560 --> 22:27.560] Like the game is so good. [22:27.560 --> 22:31.560] Like I I'm even looking at the achievement list and thinking I [22:31.560 --> 22:33.560] might be I might go for it. [22:33.560 --> 22:36.560] I don't know if there's any like it's achievable. [22:36.560 --> 22:37.560] I don't think there's any breakable achievements. [22:37.560 --> 22:40.560] Like there's a couple that are like beat the game without using [22:40.560 --> 22:43.560] a healing item, but you can do that on the lowest difficulty. [22:43.560 --> 22:47.560] You know, you can do that with the extra content stuff too. [22:47.560 --> 22:50.560] You can do that with an infinite ammo grenade launcher if you want. [22:50.560 --> 22:53.560] Yeah, like these are a lot of stuff that you can do in the game [22:53.560 --> 22:55.560] and new game plus from what I can tell. [22:55.560 --> 23:00.560] So honestly, I don't really need to 100% it in one run, but I'm [23:00.560 --> 23:02.560] actively doing pretty good. [23:02.560 --> 23:04.560] Oh, I'm also like I'm playing in a Japanese as well. [23:04.560 --> 23:07.560] And it's it's going really well. [23:07.560 --> 23:11.560] Like I'm surprised on how well I'm progressing through the game. [23:11.560 --> 23:12.560] Nice. [23:12.560 --> 23:14.560] This game is only eight hours to be. [23:14.560 --> 23:18.560] I'd say less it's eight hours to beat at one time. [23:18.560 --> 23:22.560] Well, and also it also once you know what to do, you could beat [23:22.560 --> 23:24.560] it in as little as like three hours. [23:24.560 --> 23:26.560] You can run through it. [23:26.560 --> 23:28.560] I'm from my first clear run in Japanese. [23:28.560 --> 23:32.560] It was like four and a half hours or my Leon run. [23:32.560 --> 23:36.560] I'm currently at like five hours, I think, but I'm like getting [23:36.560 --> 23:38.560] every safe in every box. [23:38.560 --> 23:39.560] Yeah. [23:39.560 --> 23:41.560] I'll just be running the other one. [23:41.560 --> 23:47.560] I actually think both of my runs were like seven and a half hours each. [23:47.560 --> 23:49.560] It was my first time playing. [23:49.560 --> 23:51.560] And you guys are talking about the. [23:51.560 --> 23:53.560] The remake remake, right? [23:53.560 --> 23:54.560] Yeah. [23:54.560 --> 23:56.560] But I play the originals like that as well. [23:56.560 --> 23:58.560] Like if you know what to do. [23:58.560 --> 24:01.560] Yeah, like the first game, Resident Evil one is like that as well. [24:01.560 --> 24:04.560] If you know what to do, you can be Resident Evil one and like it. [24:04.560 --> 24:07.560] An hour and 10 minutes unless you're like, you know, a God. [24:07.560 --> 24:09.560] Then you can really get it down. [24:09.560 --> 24:10.560] Interesting. [24:10.560 --> 24:11.560] Yeah. [24:11.560 --> 24:12.560] I've been. [24:12.560 --> 24:13.560] Yeah. [24:13.560 --> 24:14.560] Sorry. [24:14.560 --> 24:16.560] I was just saying like someone's been like. [24:16.560 --> 24:18.560] Pestering me to play this game. [24:18.560 --> 24:19.560] So good. [24:19.560 --> 24:22.560] Like scary games. [24:22.560 --> 24:23.560] It's all. [24:23.560 --> 24:24.560] Oh, yeah. [24:24.560 --> 24:26.560] You know, like the scary games. [24:26.560 --> 24:27.560] Dude. [24:27.560 --> 24:30.560] Jump scared by Mr. Big Boy. [24:30.560 --> 24:32.560] Every time it comes around the corner. [24:32.560 --> 24:34.560] It's because you're not playing with audio. [24:34.560 --> 24:35.560] Are you? [24:35.560 --> 24:36.560] No. [24:36.560 --> 24:40.560] Like when I play with audio, I know it even more because I hear it go boom, boom, boom. [24:40.560 --> 24:42.560] It just starts in the round. [24:42.560 --> 24:45.560] And I have my headphones on and I'm like talking to Jan. [24:45.560 --> 24:47.560] I'm like, Oh, Mr. Big Boy is around the corner. [24:47.560 --> 24:49.560] So I got to be careful. [24:49.560 --> 24:52.560] He's somewhere around here, but I'm pretty sure I left him behind me. [24:52.560 --> 24:54.560] Whenever I went through like the four year or whatever. [24:54.560 --> 24:56.560] So like he's probably just following me. [24:57.560 --> 25:01.560] And then I go around the corner and Leon takes like four seconds to pull his flashlight out and [25:01.560 --> 25:02.560] shining down the hallway. [25:02.560 --> 25:03.560] Yeah. [25:03.560 --> 25:04.560] You see this guy going, bro. [25:04.560 --> 25:06.560] I'm just like walking down the hallway. [25:06.560 --> 25:08.560] I'm like, Oh God. [25:08.560 --> 25:09.560] No. [25:09.560 --> 25:13.560] I think the audio is pretty good in that too, because I'm pretty sure if you're like downstairs, [25:13.560 --> 25:14.560] you can tell he's above you. [25:14.560 --> 25:15.560] Oh, yeah. [25:15.560 --> 25:16.560] It feels very directional. [25:16.560 --> 25:17.560] Yeah. [25:17.560 --> 25:18.560] It's really good. [25:18.560 --> 25:20.560] And I'm like in the safe room. [25:20.560 --> 25:22.560] And I'm like, he doesn't go in safe rooms. [25:22.560 --> 25:24.560] I don't think at least he never has. [25:24.560 --> 25:28.440] So I'm like in the safe room and I can hear him and it sounds like he's like right outside [25:28.440 --> 25:29.440] the door. [25:29.440 --> 25:32.880] It almost sounds like you knew you're breathing to just hear the footsteps, like boom, boom. [25:32.880 --> 25:34.760] And I'm like, I'll just wait a second. [25:34.760 --> 25:36.120] And then I wait a second. [25:36.120 --> 25:37.440] I still think I hear footsteps. [25:37.440 --> 25:38.880] I walk out there and there's just no one there. [25:38.880 --> 25:41.680] I'm like, Oh, I was just scaring myself. [25:41.680 --> 25:42.680] Yes. [25:42.680 --> 25:46.720] But update on my goals. [25:46.720 --> 25:50.880] My New Year's resolution was to complete 12 games in Japanese this year, at least one [25:50.880 --> 25:51.880] a month. [25:51.880 --> 25:54.560] And I finished Dragon Quest Treasures. [25:54.560 --> 25:57.440] And I collected all seven Dragon Balls. [25:57.440 --> 26:02.160] And I got the ultimate quest of the Dragon treasure, the treasure of the Dragon. [26:02.160 --> 26:03.800] You have lots of nopsis. [26:03.800 --> 26:04.800] Okay. [26:04.800 --> 26:10.040] So Eric and Maya, they are currently working as like servants for Vikings. [26:10.040 --> 26:13.720] Like, I don't know if you remember from 11, they talk about that in their backstory. [26:13.720 --> 26:17.320] Do you know their Vikings because they look like Vikings or could you read that? [26:17.320 --> 26:18.840] They look like Vikings. [26:19.840 --> 26:20.840] That's okay. [26:20.840 --> 26:21.840] Have you seen that? [26:21.840 --> 26:22.840] Yeah, I know. [26:22.840 --> 26:25.960] They look like they look like they're like Vikings, but they also have BDSM gear on at [26:25.960 --> 26:26.960] the same time. [26:26.960 --> 26:27.960] Yeah. [26:27.960 --> 26:28.960] Oh my God. [26:28.960 --> 26:29.960] Okay. [26:29.960 --> 26:30.960] So hold on. [26:30.960 --> 26:34.160] In the infinite wealth on the island, you can invite people to not invite people, but [26:34.160 --> 26:38.360] like you get you're running a resort and people come to the island and show that now one of [26:38.360 --> 26:40.040] the people are the BDSM. [26:40.040 --> 26:44.320] You know that BDSM boss fight in like a Dragon seven. [26:44.320 --> 26:45.320] That guy shows up. [26:45.320 --> 26:48.800] And so you can all so it's like, all right, I want to do a campfire to bring everyone. [26:48.800 --> 26:49.800] It's mood up. [26:49.800 --> 26:54.600] And so at the at night, you're just playing ukulele and he's just like, yay, like you play [26:54.600 --> 26:56.120] the song of the campfire. [26:56.120 --> 26:57.120] It's so funny. [26:57.120 --> 26:58.120] Anyway, continue. [26:58.120 --> 26:59.120] Okay. [26:59.120 --> 27:05.080] So the crew says that they have captured two creatures that will lead them to Treasure Island [27:05.080 --> 27:10.800] and the the the children because you play as the children or whatever are like, Hey, this [27:10.800 --> 27:11.800] is our chance. [27:11.800 --> 27:15.240] We're going to get the the biggest beef score we can. [27:15.240 --> 27:21.040] So you go and you release the two creatures and it's a flying pig and flying cat named [27:21.040 --> 27:26.920] like the cat is like me, meyusha in the kid, the pig is named, like, Bonto or something [27:26.920 --> 27:27.920] like that. [27:27.920 --> 27:29.760] Well, what were they locked up for? [27:29.760 --> 27:33.240] Oh, they were going to be they were going to use them to find Treasure Island. [27:33.240 --> 27:35.320] Like they just captured them. [27:35.320 --> 27:37.720] And so they'd like to be able to reach Japanese. [27:37.720 --> 27:41.240] I'm not be lying about it. [27:41.240 --> 27:42.800] Yeah, I can do pretty well. [27:42.800 --> 27:43.800] Not lying about it. [27:43.800 --> 27:44.800] You kidding me? [27:44.880 --> 27:47.720] I've never seen you read it in front of me. [27:47.720 --> 27:49.000] Oh, yeah, you are right. [27:49.000 --> 27:52.560] I could just be Google translating everything through. [27:52.560 --> 27:54.240] Just have the phone up. [27:54.240 --> 27:57.920] There was one quest line where there's a chef's line and you're trying to get him to [27:57.920 --> 28:01.080] join your pirate gang or not pirate gang, your treasure on our gang. [28:01.080 --> 28:05.440] You're like, Hey, we need this chef so that we can make food because it's a Japanese RPG [28:05.440 --> 28:08.120] and you always need to make food in Japanese RPGs. [28:08.120 --> 28:14.720] So you try to recruit the chef and he's like, Hey, I really want to like, are you familiar [28:14.720 --> 28:20.520] with like the pig enemies that are like magic hats on pigs in Dragon Quest? [28:20.520 --> 28:25.480] I think I think they called them like ham witches or something. [28:25.480 --> 28:28.480] I'm pretty sure I know you're talking about it. [28:28.480 --> 28:31.680] Ham witch Dragon Quest. [28:31.680 --> 28:37.320] I type in ham witches on images and I'm getting some freaky looking food. [28:37.320 --> 28:38.960] Look at this. [28:38.960 --> 28:40.160] Oh my God, look at this. [28:40.160 --> 28:43.360] I don't know. [28:43.440 --> 28:48.000] I don't think I could put this on the on the on the thumbnail. [28:48.000 --> 28:48.720] But look at this. [28:48.720 --> 28:50.160] This is what comes up. [28:50.160 --> 28:53.280] Ignore that NSFW in the in the link. [28:53.280 --> 28:55.720] Oh, yeah, that means nothing. [28:55.720 --> 28:56.720] It's very cheesy. [28:56.720 --> 28:58.640] Oh boy. [28:58.640 --> 29:02.720] All right, but if you click my link, you'll see what a ham witch looks like and it is cute. [29:02.720 --> 29:06.000] It is a big with a magic hat and quest 11. [29:06.000 --> 29:06.560] Yeah. [29:06.560 --> 29:12.560] And he's like, Hey, I want to make food out of this like I couldn't understand what it was [29:12.560 --> 29:18.840] asking, but it was saying it wanted a ham witch for food and I'm like, okay, I don't [29:18.840 --> 29:20.200] know what you mean by that. [29:20.200 --> 29:24.200] So I tried like killing a whole bunch of these things and seeing if like that's how I completed [29:24.200 --> 29:25.200] the quest. [29:25.200 --> 29:28.280] No, I tried stealing them because you have like the thief steel ability. [29:28.280 --> 29:31.920] It's one of your like core abilities besides killing is you can rob them and then kill [29:31.920 --> 29:32.920] them as well. [29:32.920 --> 29:35.760] And if you rob them, you'll get different things from them. [29:35.760 --> 29:39.160] Okay, but this game is like Pokemon where you have a party. [29:39.160 --> 29:44.280] And what they want you to do is to first go like first, you have to like rob them and [29:44.280 --> 29:48.840] then that will get them like their name tag or whatever, then you can go back to your base [29:48.840 --> 29:53.000] and recruit them onto your team, like Pokemon solo fight for you. [29:53.000 --> 29:58.480] It wanted me to get like steal from it, get his name tag, go back to base, recruit it, [29:58.480 --> 30:02.440] then bring it back to it so it can butcher it and make food out of it. [30:02.440 --> 30:05.840] Oh, and that's what it wanted me to do, but I could not understand for a long time. [30:05.840 --> 30:11.480] I end up having to just Google like Google a walk through for this quest, not even the [30:11.480 --> 30:15.280] translation because even when I looked on the translation, like, this is literally what [30:15.280 --> 30:16.280] they're asking. [30:16.280 --> 30:18.120] They're like, I want this for food. [30:18.120 --> 30:20.880] And I'm like, what do you mean you want this for food? [30:20.880 --> 30:26.360] You're like, all the flashcards I studied in Japanese didn't have the word ham witch on [30:26.360 --> 30:27.360] it. [30:27.360 --> 30:28.360] Sorry. [30:28.360 --> 30:31.760] Well, they don't call them ham, which is it's like, it's got to be a different pun, right? [30:31.760 --> 30:34.000] Yeah, it's some kind of other pun type thing. [30:34.000 --> 30:35.000] Gotcha. [30:35.000 --> 30:37.040] That's tough. [30:37.040 --> 30:44.400] So I played Pokemon silver in Korean a couple years ago because I speak Korean. [30:44.400 --> 30:48.560] So I was like, oh, it would be fun to like get better at it by playing Pokemon. [30:48.560 --> 30:51.080] But it was cool. [30:51.080 --> 30:56.760] But Pokemon, and I assume Dragon Quest is full of very specific things that are not useful [30:56.760 --> 30:58.440] outside of that game. [30:58.440 --> 31:04.760] So it was a fun experience, but like not the most helpful for like brushing up on language [31:04.760 --> 31:05.760] skills. [31:05.760 --> 31:13.800] Well, one congee I did not know before playing this game was treasure and searching. [31:13.800 --> 31:19.080] And they say that both of those words so often, like you were always treasure hunting. [31:19.080 --> 31:20.560] You're hunting for treasure. [31:20.560 --> 31:22.060] Everyone's talking about treasure hunting. [31:22.060 --> 31:26.760] Every other sentence talks about like when you're hunting for treasure and you get that one [31:26.760 --> 31:27.760] really honed in. [31:27.760 --> 31:30.760] But oh, yeah, quick synopsis for the game. [31:30.760 --> 31:35.840] You make it to what you believe is a series of islands that will lead you to treasure island [31:35.840 --> 31:38.080] or it's all treasure islands together. [31:38.080 --> 31:40.240] I'm not sure they're like dragon islands. [31:40.240 --> 31:44.800] You go to like a magical train station, you form your own like team rocket treasure hunting [31:44.800 --> 31:50.120] gang made up of all the Pokemon that you keep kidnapping and hiring and stuff. [31:50.120 --> 31:52.480] You then have to collect seven dragon balls. [31:52.480 --> 31:56.160] And then once you collect them all an evil skeleton pirate shows up and steals them [31:56.160 --> 31:57.160] from you. [31:57.160 --> 32:02.720] And then you have to get in a big final ultimate Gwen Lord of Cinder's boss battle and you're [32:02.720 --> 32:07.520] supposed to use your ceiling abilities to literally pick pocket him mid fight to steal [32:07.520 --> 32:11.600] the dragon balls back, which I thought was really cool because usually I hate the thief [32:11.600 --> 32:12.600] abilities in RPGs. [32:12.600 --> 32:17.840] Like I don't know if you guys have noticed, but it's like every Japanese RPG for some reason [32:17.840 --> 32:23.000] as a thief with the steel ability and I'm like, I'm looking at you final fantasy and I never [32:23.000 --> 32:26.680] want to use that because it's like, yeah, why would I steal when I could just kill them [32:26.680 --> 32:27.680] faster? [32:27.680 --> 32:32.800] You know, yeah, final final fantasy sickos will always say like you should always steal [32:32.800 --> 32:37.000] from every enemy because you'll get the best weapons and stuff and I never fucking steal [32:37.000 --> 32:38.000] it. [32:38.000 --> 32:42.160] Never just can't be bothered to well, I was thinking so I've been locked into like I'm [32:42.160 --> 32:46.480] like, no, I know that like a dragon infinite wealth has some really funny enemy names, [32:46.480 --> 32:51.440] but they're all and they're all like English funny names like I had to go look up a list [32:51.440 --> 32:52.440] of them. [32:52.440 --> 32:58.920] Like, misdemeanor Wiener is a security guard, you know, and I'm like, I don't think that's [32:58.920 --> 33:04.000] what it says in Japanese, but dude, we, I, Dave, I think you and I probably talked about [33:04.000 --> 33:10.480] this when we did that Tales from the backlog about Easton, but the localizers at RGG are [33:10.480 --> 33:12.640] the best, the absolute best. [33:12.640 --> 33:14.240] They sound really good. [33:14.240 --> 33:15.440] I don't, I don't know. [33:15.440 --> 33:18.560] They need to be paid more probably and then, you know, what's really interesting is when [33:18.560 --> 33:23.760] you go on Twitter, uh, surprise, there's some negative opinions about stuff on Twitter, [33:23.760 --> 33:27.920] but like people do push back on the localizers a lot because they're, I think that people [33:27.920 --> 33:32.800] think that they go too far into like Americanized like jokes and stuff, but I don't know, like [33:32.800 --> 33:36.640] a lot of the stuff that they point out, I'm like, oh, I wouldn't have even noticed that. [33:36.640 --> 33:41.440] I wouldn't have noticed that joke at all being like really kind of weird for Majima to say, [33:41.440 --> 33:44.320] especially as the games go on, but I don't know, don't show dumbass. [33:44.480 --> 33:51.040] Yeah, but they also do a really good job of not Americanizing like the stuff that's specific to [33:51.040 --> 33:56.560] Japan too. Like they don't, you know, if they're talking about like some food or some place or [33:56.560 --> 34:01.600] like some legend or something like that, they don't transfer that. Yeah. Unless it's actually [34:01.600 --> 34:07.440] donuts because they have that too. Yeah. Yeah. From the, from the Pokemon anime, I remember that. [34:07.440 --> 34:09.200] These donuts are delicious. Yeah. [34:09.440 --> 34:15.040] Yeah. You know, another, I have a funny story about this isn't like any language thing, but I [34:15.040 --> 34:19.840] remember when I was a kid, I used to play this SWAT game with my friends, Jamal and Terrell, [34:19.840 --> 34:25.920] and there was a mission that was like, you have to go turn off the electricity, look for the [34:25.920 --> 34:31.280] transparent box or the translucent box, and we didn't know what that word meant. So we could never get [34:31.280 --> 34:36.320] passed that part in the game. And Google really wasn't a thing back then. So like you could go to [34:36.400 --> 34:41.280] Ask Jeeves, but we never thought about doing that. So we were just looking at every box [34:41.280 --> 34:45.920] everywhere. We didn't know how to find it. So it was terrible. And then I just have that [34:45.920 --> 34:51.120] because when I learned what transparent men did, my first thought was like, oh my God, [34:51.120 --> 34:56.400] my brain went back 15 years, like, oh my God, that's how I needed to look for one of these [34:57.200 --> 35:01.680] in that game. My one is always like, we always talk about the Elder Scrolls games with how much [35:01.760 --> 35:07.040] reading there is and just names of objects. And they give you a big vocab list. [35:07.760 --> 35:12.800] And a lot of things I don't even know how to pronounce a lot of the words that I've encountered [35:12.800 --> 35:17.680] in the Elder Scrolls. And they're not even like fantasy words. It's like, is it is it [35:17.680 --> 35:23.840] serious, curious, the armor that goes on the chest? Oh, I still don't know how to say [35:23.840 --> 35:29.360] curious. Like, yeah, that's a word that you'll go your entire life. You'll read it in a hundred [35:30.080 --> 35:32.240] games. You'll never say that word out loud in real life. [35:33.840 --> 35:37.440] Or like those words that you say a lot, but you've never seen written out. And when you see [35:37.440 --> 35:43.200] them, you're like, whoa, that's a cue in there, silent cue. I remember I told the story probably [35:43.200 --> 35:49.520] three times already, but moral wind as a kid taught me the word fatigued because I kept you [35:49.520 --> 35:53.040] get fatigued and you're like, what is happening? Why can't I play anymore? So you had to figure it out. [35:53.040 --> 35:56.880] And then one day I dropped that word during PE class. And my teacher was like, [35:57.680 --> 36:04.240] what'd you just say? Fatigue? You just said you're like fatigued. You're a weirdo. [36:04.240 --> 36:09.680] I'm like a first reader. I mean, I love words like that, like over encumbered. Like that's not a [36:09.680 --> 36:13.920] word that you're going to get on like the average third grade spelling test. I just like it. That's [36:13.920 --> 36:18.480] a deep cut. I'm over encumbered, but I managed to bring all the groceries in in one trip. [36:22.480 --> 36:26.400] I'll try to think another one. Another one that popped up a lot was like Sanguine. I'm still [36:26.400 --> 36:29.600] not even sure what the meaning of Sanguine is. Something about blood. [36:29.600 --> 36:34.800] Yeah. Like relating to blood. Yeah. So there's a lot of fancy words in those games. [36:35.440 --> 36:40.880] Treasures was really good. I'm looking at like, what's that game? Persona three [36:40.880 --> 36:45.600] reloaded just dropped on Game Pass yesterday or today or something like that. I'm installing it [36:45.600 --> 36:51.600] now. I'm hoping it you can play it in Japanese because you could not play portable in Japanese. [36:51.600 --> 36:58.080] They didn't have Japanese version. That's weird. Whoa. Yeah. Like even if it makes [36:58.080 --> 37:03.120] you feel like a really hard game to play in Japanese, man, is it? It's just it's just talking [37:03.120 --> 37:08.320] to people and then doing RPG elements. That's a lot of talking. Yeah, I was going to say like [37:08.320 --> 37:13.120] if your goal is to beat 12 games in Japanese, you're going to pick one that's like a hundred hours [37:13.120 --> 37:18.720] long, like a 12 one hour game. Yeah, that one take a while. Yeah. I mean, the first game I beat was [37:18.720 --> 37:24.800] Tomb Raider return, return or whatever it was called. And that one was easy. That one was like [37:24.800 --> 37:30.480] eight hours of just, there's a theme park ride. You just don't need to read. You don't need to read. [37:31.040 --> 37:36.320] Yeah. Something's exploding. Let me not go over there. Yeah. Pretty much. And I'm like, [37:36.320 --> 37:40.960] when I do understand stuff, it's like her after, you know, nearly exploding falling in the snow, [37:40.960 --> 37:45.920] she stands up and she's like, that was dangerous. And I'm like, she's right. [37:48.800 --> 37:53.120] But yeah, that's all I've been playing. Yeah, I've eaten enough time. Chris, what have you been playing? [37:53.840 --> 38:02.080] Man, well, outside of me trying to wrangle my kids Fortnite accounts, I've been dealing with [38:02.080 --> 38:08.960] or no, I completed Sea of Stars. And I got the true ending. Yeah. So I got the true ending and all [38:08.960 --> 38:15.360] that stuff. So I was like, Oh, crap, I actually did that. That was that was kind of a that was kind [38:15.440 --> 38:19.920] of rough for me because that was a very long, it was like a lot of time that I spent on this game. [38:19.920 --> 38:24.480] I was thinking I could beat it over like Christmas or like the holiday break. And I was like, no, [38:25.360 --> 38:30.240] it was it just kept going, especially when you had to go and collect all those like rainbow [38:30.240 --> 38:34.000] conscious and stuff like that. I was like, Oh my God, I have to keep on getting out rainbow [38:34.000 --> 38:41.520] conscious on this. Oh, like Zelda. Yeah. Yeah, dude. And you got to collect like 60 of those motherfuckers. [38:42.000 --> 38:45.600] And it's like you have to be like certain bosses and like to get to the certain bosses. [38:45.600 --> 38:51.040] But like I felt I felt accomplished by doing that. But yeah, I mean, now I'm trying to figure out [38:51.040 --> 38:57.360] like what the next kind of longer game I'm going to continue. I might just go back to, [38:57.360 --> 39:01.200] you guys, well, yeah, I was going to I was going to say I was going to I might just go back to [39:01.200 --> 39:07.840] Kawami to finish that off because I got I put a couple hours into that. I was trying to remember [39:07.840 --> 39:12.640] when you guys are talking about like a dragon, there was a quest. I was either in Kawami to or [39:12.640 --> 39:18.800] earn like a dragon where this guy comes and like asks you to help him or no, he stops. He's like, [39:18.800 --> 39:24.240] Oh, you're a very beautiful person. Like, can I can this guy take pictures? And he's like, [39:24.240 --> 39:29.040] you're like, yeah, I guess. And then like you go to this office and this guy comes to you like [39:29.600 --> 39:33.440] in just a thong. He's like, I want to take pictures of you. And then you're like, what is it going on? [39:34.160 --> 39:36.480] And then you're like, I've had them second thoughts about this. [39:37.680 --> 39:43.120] So so what's going on? Okay, I thought I was like, yeah, I forgot if it was one of the if it was [39:43.120 --> 39:48.960] that or like a dragon, but now it is confirmed. Classic user. That is I'm going to be honest, [39:48.960 --> 39:55.760] that is just in every one of them. That exact quest is probably in at least three of them. That's [39:55.760 --> 39:58.640] a classic Kiryu situation right there. [39:58.640 --> 40:02.640] Okay. But yeah, I'm excited to go back to it. [40:03.600 --> 40:09.680] Just like the just like the diaper club, which like, oh, yes. And it was so funny that there's like, [40:09.680 --> 40:13.680] we're putting a diaper club in all of them. Yeah, let's do this again. Right it back. [40:14.800 --> 40:18.720] It's so good. That's probably what they're like as soon as they're like, we're getting a new [40:18.720 --> 40:24.480] protagonist. Yes, all of them. They've just pull out the giant file filing book of all the [40:24.960 --> 40:32.720] tickets to reuse. And then we'll see it and we go, yes, this one again. I love it back. [40:32.720 --> 40:35.360] They brought back the gay, poor and voice over side quest. [40:38.560 --> 40:44.160] Oh, man. I can't wait to go back. All right. I mean, I mean, perfect. And at this point, [40:44.160 --> 40:45.520] I want to thank our patrons. [40:46.640 --> 40:50.000] Berserker this K.O. Kathy, Mr. Coing and saying cracker, Nick and Knight, Michael [40:50.000 --> 40:53.280] Suebacher and the intergalactic fine cone. Thank you for all your support. [40:53.360 --> 40:56.320] You're a dear listener. If you're not in that list, which most of you aren't, [40:57.200 --> 41:00.720] I just want to thank you anyways for taking the time to listen to us. [41:00.720 --> 41:03.760] You don't have to financially support us. We would appreciate it if you did. [41:03.760 --> 41:06.640] But thanks for just tuning in. If you really want to help us out, [41:07.360 --> 41:13.200] tell a friend about us and grab their phone and on Spotify or YouTube podcast or whatever they [41:13.200 --> 41:18.960] happen to be listening on. Subscribe. That's all. Yeah, five stars. Yeah, five stars, [41:18.960 --> 41:23.280] like and subscribe, all that, whatever. And then go check out Tails from the backlog in [41:23.280 --> 41:27.280] one H one D and a top three. I've been on all those. Go check out those episodes first, [41:27.280 --> 41:32.800] blow them up, make them the most popular. You the, the rare distinction of being on both [41:32.800 --> 41:38.720] Tails from the backlog and a top three. That's nave. I want to be on top three again. And I want [41:38.720 --> 41:43.680] to bring the same, just the same question. Yeah. Just part two. Yeah. [41:43.680 --> 41:48.800] Yeah. And with that, let's take a quick break before we hit the meet music place. [41:48.800 --> 41:52.480] Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Does anyone need a bathroom break or anything? [41:52.480 --> 41:58.320] Does anyone have time constraints? Yeah. All good. Just in an hour. [41:58.320 --> 42:02.800] Probably have to drop off. In an hour. Okay. We can do that. Hey, we're back. [42:03.840 --> 42:12.400] Well, hold on. So I want to tell Dave that date, did you listen to the last battle royale thing [42:12.400 --> 42:19.200] that we did? Because I went from being on the top three, I stole you adding the music in. I stole [42:19.200 --> 42:23.120] that. I was like, Oh, okay. That was a good ever since I heard that episode and I heard the music. [42:23.120 --> 42:29.680] I was like, damn, that's good. Yeah. That's good. I got to find a way to implement music into our show. [42:29.680 --> 42:32.720] Yeah. I invented copyright infringement. So I'm glad you did. [42:35.600 --> 42:39.760] Oh, dude, we get hit with that a lot with our listening together. Now that it went over every [42:39.840 --> 42:43.520] time and I get I just get emails and I'm just like, Philip will do with that. [42:46.000 --> 42:52.560] That's that's Philip's apartment. Yeah. Oh, what was it? We did get that one Google one where they [42:52.560 --> 42:57.600] called us out for spreading misinformation again. Yeah, because I was joking about it. [42:59.040 --> 43:03.200] Because we got it on Spotify. The Spotify kind of got over it, where they don't care about [43:03.200 --> 43:07.120] misinformation as much. But you two got a response or Joe Rogan. They don't give a shit. [43:07.840 --> 43:11.680] They were like, Hey, this is your strike one pretty much. And then unless you contested or [43:11.680 --> 43:15.600] whatever, and I'm like, I'm going to contest it. And then like I had to go and fill out a form [43:15.600 --> 43:22.960] explaining that it was a joke and that it wasn't in their life. You know what's funny is, dude, [43:22.960 --> 43:26.480] I think we were joking about I think in that same episode we joked about [43:27.600 --> 43:33.120] well, is it COVID? But then later what we actually got hit on was like flat earth shit or no, [43:33.120 --> 43:38.800] it was 5g. It was 5g. I was joking about it all in one episode. Yeah, [43:38.800 --> 43:45.360] do you write on the the form where you have to like, you know, write out your your formal like, [43:45.360 --> 43:49.120] Oh, we were actually joking just right on there. Like, look, Nave said this like, [43:49.120 --> 43:54.560] just don't take what he says seriously on the podcast. Just put it in like we were doing it as a in some [43:54.560 --> 43:58.320] kind of parody manner or something like that. It was a joke. And they replied back, [43:58.320 --> 44:01.520] yeah, you're good to go. There are no strikes against your account. And I'm like, okay, [44:01.520 --> 44:08.080] good. Yeah, we got a community strike for that. Like they they no, they said no. [44:08.720 --> 44:13.280] All right. Well, we're back. Am I the asshole? We didn't play a game this week. [44:14.640 --> 44:19.600] It's been busy. Nave was going to rock shows and I was just not doing anything besides playing [44:20.560 --> 44:27.360] dungeon queen, Dairy Queen, Dragon Quest. That's it. Now it was a DQ and yeah, so we're just going [44:27.360 --> 44:32.480] to be doing some AA assholes. Oh shit. Before we start, I forgot. I'm supposed to shout out these [44:32.480 --> 44:38.400] episodes. I was on. Oh shit. All right. Dude here, I guess. Yeah, I know we were supposed to do it [44:38.400 --> 44:44.480] before we went to the break, but we got distracted. Let me find the playlist. I was on go and check out [44:44.480 --> 44:51.840] me on neon pocket dimension where I talked about the Sony state of play. I bet I was super positive [44:51.920 --> 44:57.760] about that. And I'm also going to be whenever this episode releases by that time, [44:57.760 --> 45:03.040] I'm pretty sure Aaron super pot saga is going to have our episode about the Xbox 360. [45:03.680 --> 45:12.640] And I think we will also be on elder trolls talking about something. Probably. I don't know. [45:12.640 --> 45:14.560] Probably. I think that'll be out as well. [45:15.360 --> 45:21.360] All right. And am I the asshole? Each of us have gone on to my extensive asshole sheet [45:21.360 --> 45:26.240] and selected one we like to share. So Chris, would you like to lead us off with your selection? [45:29.440 --> 45:34.000] Well, did you bring your own from home? No. I mean, I'll look through the list here. Oh, he is pulling [45:34.000 --> 45:39.520] a loose piece of paper out of his desk. This looks like a handwritten note. [45:39.520 --> 45:45.280] Yeah. What are you saying? Did someone brought their own? Am I the asshole? [45:45.280 --> 45:50.000] I keep waiting for it to happen. Like one of our co-op partners, we listened to like, oh, man, [45:50.000 --> 45:54.720] I've been wanting to do am I the asshole for so long? Because like for one, the trolls were like [45:54.720 --> 45:59.440] super hyped when we first started it. They're like, we got to be gone for that one. And I'm like, [45:59.440 --> 46:01.040] oh, yeah, I'll have you guys on pretty soon. [46:01.520 --> 46:08.160] Chris, do you need more time? Well, this one kind of hits close to home, but not in the sense that [46:09.360 --> 46:12.560] I won't tell your wife. It's okay. Okay. She has a list of the show. [46:14.320 --> 46:20.560] Well, I mean, it's just, am I the asshole being so upset about my husband lying about coming to bed [46:21.440 --> 46:25.840] and Lincoln so we can all read together because I'm bad at reading with my ears. [46:26.960 --> 46:29.200] Unless you say, well, what is this big red stripe? [46:29.840 --> 46:36.640] Don't worry about it. I'm not worrying about it. So you got me to read it out loud. [46:36.640 --> 46:42.080] Hold on. Let's do a quick check burner account check to see if this guy is posting on main or not. [46:42.080 --> 46:47.920] And it looks like he is. This guy's been posting since 2014, but he's not super [46:47.920 --> 46:57.920] at it. Yeah. Red may see. Oh, but he has a son. His son was born at 10 pounds and seven ounces. [46:59.280 --> 47:07.680] Nice. Oh, no, it's a lady, I think. Oh, and her husband took her name. How a fool. [47:09.680 --> 47:16.240] He's got a he's got his top comment is under dog saliva under a microscope on r slash tick tock [47:16.240 --> 47:22.240] cringe. And he says, my M.I.L. I don't know what that means claims. Mother in law. Mother in law. [47:22.240 --> 47:26.160] Okay. My mother law claims that dog's life is incredibly clean to the point of having antibacterial [47:26.160 --> 47:29.760] properties. She gets offended. Yeah. Yeah. He's I don't know. I thought that was gonna be funny, [47:29.760 --> 47:35.840] but it wasn't. So this is a main account. They are posting on main. So yeah, if you want to read [47:35.840 --> 47:41.280] them out, go ahead, Chris. This is a long one. Approximately once or twice a week after dinner [47:41.280 --> 47:49.280] and a bit of TV together, my female. Oh, okay. She's female 29 husband is male 32 asked if I go to bed [47:49.280 --> 47:57.040] so he can play FIFA in the lounge. I usually do anything. It's important. He is a bit of time [47:57.040 --> 48:01.840] towards. So this is not his only time for himself. The problem lies in the fact these days of super late [48:01.840 --> 48:06.640] until three or four a.m. He's been up at five a.m. He has to be up at five a.m. for work. And we have [48:06.640 --> 48:11.520] a baby and toddler. So our sleep is often broken. My husband is always complaining about [48:11.520 --> 48:16.000] being tired and affects him in the daytime to encourage him to sleep at a reasonable time and [48:16.000 --> 48:20.880] ask him what time he will come to bed. He will always agree to a midnight one a.m. bedtime, which is [48:21.440 --> 48:26.080] always at least an hour and a half of gaming. He always breaks us and it is much later. [48:26.800 --> 48:30.880] I know I'm not his mother or in charge of him, but it's more it more than bothers me and he [48:30.880 --> 48:34.960] doesn't keep his agreement. He's making himself more tired and complaining about it. It is irritating [48:34.960 --> 48:41.600] that his words mean nothing. And to me, he is consciously lying. This is not a one-off accident, [48:41.600 --> 48:46.400] nor is he only a little bit late. It's ours. He says he's thought I'd be asleep, so I wouldn't [48:46.400 --> 48:52.160] notice him coming upstairs. Him coming up the stairs makes me wake up. The most awful thing is that I [48:52.160 --> 48:57.600] was married before. My first husband died in a car accident on his way home from a night shift. [48:57.600 --> 49:03.200] I was woken dramatically by police pounding on my door and my worst memory is looking to the side [49:03.200 --> 49:14.080] of the bed and him not being there. When I wake in the night, I have the same panic feeling. [49:14.080 --> 49:18.720] He knows this and it really upsets me on his games. Game is more important than my feelings. [49:19.280 --> 49:24.880] In my eyes, he's being irresponsible and selfish. He is time to unwind and enjoy gaming. But he takes [49:24.880 --> 49:29.280] the piss with it. He should be able to stop and come to bed and is acting like a teenager. [49:29.360 --> 49:34.800] He knows how I panic when I wake up and he's not there when he should be. Does this regularly, [49:34.800 --> 49:38.160] but does this regularly anyway? Am I the asshole for being so upset? [49:40.880 --> 49:45.200] You know what I think? I think that for Christmas, she should just get him a rock ally. [49:46.240 --> 49:54.720] If only you have the hit device, the PlayStation Portal, so he can take his PS5 on the go. [49:54.720 --> 50:02.080] So I mean, first off, him playing FIFA is like, what is that? Number one red flags. [50:03.840 --> 50:10.160] How many broken controllers do they have? Right. That's a that's wild staying up until three or [50:10.160 --> 50:14.480] four a.m. when you have to wake up at five for work. Yeah, that is like me. [50:18.320 --> 50:23.760] You guys legit every day since she cruises has come out. I've gone to bed at least one. It's [50:23.760 --> 50:26.560] terrible. My sleep schedule is ruined. That's rough. [50:27.840 --> 50:34.000] Like, I know when my kids were still infants and what's up or whatnot. I would try to stay awake [50:34.000 --> 50:38.160] because I knew they were going to wake up. And then so I was like, okay, I'll be there at least. [50:38.160 --> 50:44.080] I kind of poddled in or whatever. So yeah, then I would play some games at night. I still kind [50:44.080 --> 50:49.920] of keep myself. I don't know why this is in my brain now, but my little sister has a little infant [50:49.920 --> 50:57.520] and she brought like a it's it's own his own. It's a he. What are those things called where you [50:57.520 --> 51:05.120] put them in? It's a prison for babies. Oh, like I can play type of what? I don't like to jump [51:05.120 --> 51:08.800] or like a jumper or like a jumper. No, it literally looks like a print a jail. So no, [51:08.800 --> 51:14.320] like it is a baby. Yeah. That's a pack and play. You can pack it up. You can pop them in there and [51:14.320 --> 51:17.840] just leave them. You know? Okay. I didn't know that that was the name for it. I've been calling it the [51:17.920 --> 51:24.960] baby jail. So she put the little so Molly, my dog, loves children, like loves them just wants to [51:24.960 --> 51:30.640] lick their face for the rest of her life. And so to get the baby away from Molly, they put them [51:30.640 --> 51:35.360] in this pack of but little do they know that that was the fucking hell in the cell arena match that [51:35.360 --> 51:42.000] Molly was always wanting. She jumped over the wall in there with the baby. We had to lock her in the [51:42.000 --> 51:49.280] closet for the whole time they were here. No, yes. Just to keep it safe for Molly. [51:50.480 --> 51:56.320] That's pretty good. Anyway. All right. So balling it down. Dad is staying up way too late. [51:57.280 --> 52:05.040] And he's disturbing baby and mom. Wait, he's disturbing baby? Also? Yeah. Yeah. It said that [52:05.520 --> 52:11.360] where to go? They quoted. I think there's a call. It says when I wake up at night, [52:11.360 --> 52:16.880] baby, the baby wakes her up in the middle of the night. Yeah. I feel like he's going to if he's going [52:16.880 --> 52:22.400] to if he's already awake, that's that's one thing. He should go take care of the baby. [52:22.400 --> 52:27.920] If you're going to be up until four a.m. playing FIFA, then like just go take care of the baby. [52:27.920 --> 52:29.920] You can't pause on my matches, dad. [52:30.480 --> 52:36.000] That's true. Just put it on. I'll get played before with the baby in my hand while I'm playing. [52:36.000 --> 52:39.920] I've had that. I've done that. I mean, I'm trying to be a part of the week. [52:39.920 --> 52:42.880] I play it like all the Dragon Quest 11 with a baby in my arms. [52:44.480 --> 52:48.240] But you can put a hand that game. You know, like the claw on the controller, [52:48.240 --> 52:52.960] claw instead of the. I don't know. You guys had FIFA too, right? What are they doing? They're [52:52.960 --> 52:58.000] just pushing a ball around. Come on. Yeah. And it's a bigger issue is that this guy is not good [52:58.000 --> 53:02.560] enough to play FIFA with one hand. Yeah. Sounds like a skill issue. [53:04.960 --> 53:09.920] Yeah. So this seems pretty kind of dry. Everyone want to go around like say this guy's an asshole. [53:09.920 --> 53:15.040] You should go to that. I wonder if like, so let's do a compromise. [53:15.040 --> 53:20.000] Let's put the PlayStation in the bedroom and see how long until she wants to kick his ass out. [53:21.600 --> 53:26.640] She can't get any sleep because he is now pissed off that the goalie didn't catch the ball, [53:26.640 --> 53:29.360] even though it was clearly involved in the goal issue to cut. [53:29.360 --> 53:32.400] The problem is though, is that he's staying up too late no matter what. [53:33.040 --> 53:40.160] So what she could do, though, is just pass of aggressively later around while he's playing something [53:40.160 --> 53:46.720] like that. Like a specter. Yeah. Sitting on the couch, you'll be like, man, I'm really tired. [53:46.720 --> 53:52.560] Just like snoring. She's really obnoxious. Like we should go to bed. [53:52.560 --> 53:59.680] Because it starts with him asking her when she's going to go to bed so that he could play FIFA by [53:59.680 --> 54:04.560] himself. And she's just like, I think I'm actually just going to sleep on the couch tonight. [54:04.560 --> 54:10.560] Sounds pretty comfy. It's going to chill down here. Sounds to me like she's just not respecting [54:10.560 --> 54:14.720] his insomnia. Sounds a little like ableist. Ableist. [54:16.800 --> 54:21.440] Well, I mean, do you have any more defenses for? Because I try to think of digging deep. [54:21.440 --> 54:25.200] I don't think there's any more this. I think it's pretty kind of dry. Like this guy's pushing [54:25.200 --> 54:29.840] in too far. He doesn't need to stay up to one a.m. playing FIFA every night. Like, seriously, [54:29.840 --> 54:35.760] like you can get enough in by 12. You don't need that extra hour. Well, one one a.m. was the target. [54:35.760 --> 54:41.360] He's staying up till three or four. Oh, did you say that? Oh God. Yeah. Yeah. Fucking dumbass. [54:41.360 --> 54:46.960] Just go to bed. Yeah. Like I guess if he does have insomnia where he can't sleep without getting [54:46.960 --> 54:52.640] a couple chicken dinners in, winning the online FIFA tournament, then maybe I guess he needs to [54:52.640 --> 54:56.320] do this, but he's got work in the morning. He's got a bit of care for all his life, bro. [54:56.960 --> 55:02.400] Well, that is true. Yeah. In in my defense, your honor, ball is life. All right. [55:03.840 --> 55:08.000] And the problem is like, I just if you flip this to any other game, it doesn't get much better. [55:08.640 --> 55:12.240] Well, maybe it does. But like, I just think about flipping like what could be relevant. [55:12.240 --> 55:17.280] How could this be me? League of Legends. Yeah. League of Legends. Yeah. I'm up until three or [55:17.280 --> 55:24.480] four a.m. playing Dota two. And yeah. Dude, you got to, I'm not going to stop until I lose. [55:24.480 --> 55:29.280] That's got to play. Sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm good. That is another defense. [55:29.280 --> 55:34.720] What if he's doing that and he's just he just doesn't lose really like three or four a.m. Yeah. [55:35.600 --> 55:41.040] I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. Obviously, obviously, not the asshole for [55:42.080 --> 55:45.680] wanting her husband to not get one hour of sleep per night. [55:46.320 --> 55:52.480] Right. Yeah. I mean, they need that paycheck. They need a paycheck too. And if it's screwed up his [55:52.480 --> 55:56.720] work, there is the whole thing about like the trauma that she has. I think she just needs to be [55:56.720 --> 56:00.800] more clear about it. She needs to talk to him, get him, sit him down and be like, listen, [56:00.880 --> 56:05.680] this really means a lot to me. And I know it seems stupid. And it kind of is a little stupid, [56:05.680 --> 56:11.360] but this means a lot to me. Everyone has the thing that they want from each other. Right. So, I mean, [56:11.360 --> 56:16.400] this is something that I really care about. And if like maybe not every week, maybe like twice [56:16.400 --> 56:21.920] a week, can you just come to bed with me? Now, I feel for this because I don't know if people [56:21.920 --> 56:27.920] can, people can tell from my ceaseless defense of this guy, but I am this guy. This is me. [56:28.640 --> 56:33.760] I had this problem. And like in my last relationship, this was the actual serious thing that I had [56:33.760 --> 56:38.400] to like, I had to stop playing games all night. Like I really did have to come to bed. And that's [56:38.400 --> 56:41.920] just something that you have to communicate with your partner because I didn't understand. [56:41.920 --> 56:46.240] I genuinely just was like, it seemed dumb. So I just never thought about it. Especially the [56:46.240 --> 56:50.880] whole thing where he said, I, if she was asleep, he wouldn't, she wouldn't notice that he was still [56:50.880 --> 56:55.520] in out there playing the games. I had that exact thought pattern. I literally thought that. [56:55.600 --> 57:01.360] And I realized that I was kind of a dick. So yeah, she's clearly not an asshole for [57:01.360 --> 57:04.400] wanting something like this. This is a simple thing to ask. Yeah. [57:05.920 --> 57:10.080] Yeah. And Reddit also agrees that she is not the asshole or like, that's a general vote. [57:10.560 --> 57:14.880] Yeah. So I guess they're mostly pinning on this guy being an asshole. But I think you're on to [57:14.880 --> 57:21.680] something, Dave, that he just isn't registering what's going on. Like he doesn't seem to acknowledge [57:21.680 --> 57:28.000] the reality of the situation. All right. That was pretty dry, I think, unless anyone's got any [57:28.000 --> 57:30.480] more red herrings, they want to point out or anything. [57:32.720 --> 57:37.840] Like, well, which, which year FIFA is he playing? And is he on the battle pass? Because you know [57:37.840 --> 57:44.080] it expires? Yeah. This would be acceptable. Yeah. If he was playing FIFA 21, unacceptable, [57:44.080 --> 57:48.240] but if he's playing FIFA 20, yeah, different conversation here. [57:48.240 --> 57:52.160] Everything that everything that 21 had, they had to chalk it up to 20. [57:52.160 --> 57:57.520] Yeah. Oh my God. 20 started it. All right. It looks like Dave is chomping [57:57.520 --> 58:03.600] of the bit and you've already linked in yours. I did. So yeah. So let's jump into yours. [58:04.240 --> 58:12.000] What is this? Burner account check? Tiny cactus underscore. Not not a burner account from what I [58:12.000 --> 58:18.480] can tell. No, it's the only post, but it looks like there are comments all over. Yeah, there's [58:18.480 --> 58:25.840] a bunch of comments. So not a burner account. The title is, am I the asshole for changing my own [58:25.840 --> 58:35.440] wedding registry? Okay. I will read the post. So while this is post actual wedding, my groom's [58:35.440 --> 58:43.520] family still thinks I'm the asshole for this and my family does not. Uh oh. So here it is. [58:43.520 --> 58:48.080] My sister-in-law volunteered to help me and my now husband get our wedding registry in order. [58:48.080 --> 58:54.240] I was feeling overwhelmed and appreciated to help. Oh, pause. I love how S.I.L. came up again, [58:54.240 --> 58:58.080] like something I.L. Because I wouldn't like I would have had to ask the question. Oh, dude, [58:58.080 --> 59:02.480] on on the subreddit, dude, it's ever the in-laws are always a part of the story. [59:03.360 --> 59:11.120] Most of the time. Yeah. So, uh, sister-in-law overheard a conversation I had with mother-in-law, [59:11.120 --> 59:18.080] where she mentioned her salad spinner had broken and I jokingly in italics jokingly said I would add [59:18.080 --> 59:23.440] one to our registry for her. This must have turned on a little light bulb over sister-in-law's [59:23.440 --> 59:30.720] head because she later requested that we add a valve steam deck to our list, not for us, [59:30.720 --> 59:35.440] for her, but she stipulated we could come use it whenever we wanted. [59:38.960 --> 59:44.080] I added it to the list at the time. Later that evening, I was reviewing the items we had and [59:44.080 --> 59:50.320] noticed that the steam deck was the priciest item on our registry. Like six, seven hundred, eight [59:50.320 --> 59:54.960] hundred dollars. Yeah. Yeah. Like if you got the one terabyte, it's up there. Obviously, [59:54.960 --> 01:00:00.560] it's the OLED highest internal storage. Special edition with the green or orange.

[01:00:01] If you're going to play FIFA in bed, you need to have good visual cues. You need to be able to

[01:00:06] see what's going on. You need to have those deep blacks in the OLED. Yeah. So, let's see,

[01:00:11] where were we? Oh, so I took it off the list, figured I would just buy it for her on my own dime.

[01:00:17] She did not like this. She approached me and asked me if I had removed the game system from

[01:00:21] the registry to which I explained what I said above. Yes, but I would gladly buy it for her

[01:00:26] separately. She freaked out. She was bawling her eyes out and said things like, I never asked for

[01:00:31] anything and you don't appreciate me. And it's just one thing. Again, I told her I would buy it for her

[01:00:38] with my own money, but it simply wasn't good enough. She was appalled. I would take it off our list

[01:00:42] without her permission. She got so upset that we had to call her dad to pick her up and take her home.

[01:00:49] Why was she? Did it say? It says in the comments that she is 21, I think.

[01:00:57] So basically 12 backwards. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. 21 in the comments. They say sister-in-law is 21.

[01:01:03] And then finally, my hubby and my family says she was overreacting, but her family thinks I should

[01:01:09] have kept it on the list for her as a gift, quote, for all she's done for us. And quote, am I the asshole

[01:01:16] for taking the steam deck off our wedding registry?

[01:01:20] All right. Was she done for us? Because if she's done for us.

[01:01:23] Okay. Also information. Yeah. For context that we don't have.

[01:01:30] Well, okay. So it says that the sister-in-law volunteered to help with the wedding registry.

[01:01:35] Didn't say that she helped with anything else. At least for when we-

[01:01:38] It does say that. First of all, first of all, how hard is it to put together a wedding registry that

[01:01:44] you need to bring in the entire other side of the family? Right.

[01:01:49] Would you do it? You're moving into a mansion and you need to like completely do it all yourself?

[01:01:54] Well, no, because apparently the steam deck was the most expensive thing on the list. So they weren't

[01:01:57] actually asking for that crazy of stuff. Right. Right. Yeah. It's not like someone had to buy

[01:02:03] them a refrigerator or something. Yeah. Sounds like a classic wedding registry where it's like we need

[01:02:09] some plates and some new silverware and a fucking air fryer and then oh, there's a steam deck on there.

[01:02:16] Well, I mean, it is kind of traditional if you do have like someone in the family. I don't know how

[01:02:20] it is for y'all. But if you have someone in the family help you with a wedding and they actually

[01:02:24] are putting in work, you usually do give them some kind of gift. I don't know if you're dropping

[01:02:28] $800 on a steam deck, but you usually get them at least something.

[01:02:33] Yeah. Because they sacrifice their time for something that they're not going to get any

[01:02:38] return out of just a little bit to like say, Hey, I appreciate all this stuff you did for the

[01:02:43] family, everything you did for us. Right. So but like for you to slide in like, this is exactly what

[01:02:50] I want from you. Yeah, I'm gonna put it in your way. Just registry is like, I mean, like, look,

[01:02:57] look, at least like me and my family, like we we we when it's like Christmas time or something,

[01:03:02] we we say what we want, basically, like if someone wants to go off list and get something because

[01:03:07] like they know something we would like, that's cool. But we put specific stuff on like Christmas

[01:03:13] lists and stuff. But makes sense. This is this is not someone in the close immediate family. This is

[01:03:20] the sister-in-law who thinks that she deserves a steam deck for helping with a wedding registry.

[01:03:26] Like if she booked the like the cake and the caterers and the DJ and all that shit for the

[01:03:32] wedding, like maybe, but the wedding registry. Yeah.

[01:03:37] Now, I know this is very late to slide this in, but I have no idea what is going on. I don't know

[01:03:45] what a wedding registry is. I don't know. I don't know any of the stuff. I've never even been to

[01:03:50] I don't think anyone I've ever even known besides you, you're the only wedding I've ever been to and

[01:03:55] I was late to that. Yeah, you also showed up in like straight up like street clothes to you.

[01:04:01] Yeah, I don't have clothes for a wedding. I just showed up. I was single collared shirt and said

[01:04:06] you're wearing a Metallica t-shirt and stay in jeans. All right. So I looked cool. So the way it works

[01:04:12] is like when you're when you're getting ready for your wedding, you use a website. A lot of people

[01:04:17] use like you can use Target. You can use Amazon like their websites and you list the stuff that you need

[01:04:24] like presumably for your new house. So that's why I said like plates and silverware and an air

[01:04:29] fryer and like stuff that you use around the house. And that way, when people want to buy you

[01:04:33] a wedding gift, all they have to do is go to the registry website, see the stuff that you need and

[01:04:38] buy it easily. So wishlist. Yeah, it's a wishlist for wedding gifts. But like the thing with the

[01:04:44] wedding registry is the person getting married is not buying the steam deck. That would be one of

[01:04:49] the wedding guests buying a steam deck. Right. Supposing that it's like the married couple that's

[01:04:55] going to use the steam deck. Yeah. But that's not what's happening in this story, which is why they

[01:05:00] were like, Oh, wait, it's pretty fucked up to put this on the registry. And so they took it off like

[01:05:05] later that day because it wasn't for them. It was for the sister-in-law. Yeah. But like someone buying

[01:05:10] that wouldn't know that when they buy it. Instead, it's going to be like Uncle Jimmy and five years

[01:05:16] down the line, he's going to be like, Hey, bro, you got that steam deck. You want to you want to play

[01:05:21] some FIFA together? You know, what's that water vapor water vapor patio? What's the thing for you?

[01:05:27] Yeah, they don't actually know what a steep. Yeah. So it's good. I put the reason I picked this one.

[01:05:37] The reason I picked this one is not because I think there's any real debate over like the actual

[01:05:42] question because obviously you are not the asshole for taking the steam deck off of the registry.

[01:05:48] It's stupid that you put it on in the first place. You shouldn't have done that. That was dumb.

[01:05:53] Yeah, that was a bad move. But the sister-in-law is the asshole here in the grand scheme of things.

[01:05:58] The real reason I did this is would you put a gaming thing on your wedding registry?

[01:06:05] Yes. No. Yes. I need to pass five for tax reasons for work.

[01:06:12] For what? Yeah, but man, business expense. Yeah. That's what I was looking for, business expense.

[01:06:17] I don't know. Of course, you guys, anything? I mean, I guys have been married. What do you

[01:06:21] think it was the most like, do you think any luxury items for your wedding as a gift that you

[01:06:27] received? Because I can't think of any luxury egg beater. So I think I got a crockpot as our

[01:06:34] nicest item. Yeah, that's the kind of stuff that like is normally on wedding registries. It'd be

[01:06:40] like, oh, like you want one of those nice Gordon Ramsay frying pans. Like you put that on a wedding

[01:06:45] registry. Maybe someone gets squirrely and buys the expensive thing. But like, you're not putting

[01:06:51] on like, I've never seen a TV on a wedding registry, you know, stuff like that. So, but when I got married,

[01:06:59] we didn't do a wedding registry. We got married in Korea. And instead of doing wedding gifts,

[01:07:05] people literally give you just $50 cash when they show up to the wedding. They put it in envelopes,

[01:07:10] then at the end, you count up the envelopes. You use some of that money to pay for all the food

[01:07:16] at the wedding, then you take the rest home. That's how it works over there. So we didn't get gifts.

[01:07:22] That's what I would do. I would like in my writing registry, just says money or underwear.

[01:07:30] But yeah, Chris, did you have any luxury items on your registry?

[01:07:35] I think I think the biggest thing was a knife set. Yeah, yeah, exactly.

[01:07:43] It was like real. Oh, actually, I think our biggest thing was like a coffee maker, actually.

[01:07:47] Yeah. Like a bun coffee maker. Yeah. Like people put like an espresso machine and be like, well,

[01:07:53] one of our rich relatives decided what to do this. But I need to finally cash in.

[01:08:00] Yeah, I was just like just that's why I picked this really because it'd be like, would someone put

[01:08:06] like a PS5 or a steam deck on the wedding registry? Like let's even have both of the people getting

[01:08:13] married or gamers. Like would they do that? I still don't think they would. Like something. Yeah,

[01:08:19] you want to buy together. I'm sure there are people out there. I'm sure some people have, but it still

[01:08:28] didn't feel normal. So I always feel like I've been an asshole. They did ask for it for them. Like

[01:08:34] if I was looking at a wedding registry and I saw they put a PS5 on there, I'm going to be like,

[01:08:38] no way. You motherfuckers. Yeah. What if the wedding like what if there were kids and it's like

[01:08:45] this could be for the kids would like a child wedding? No. No, like if you got married and you,

[01:08:54] there were kids in the family like teenagers and you're like a PS5. That would be for the kids,

[01:09:01] though. Would that make you upset when you saw a little bit better? But I'd also be like, no.

[01:09:07] But then again, like at that point, they probably already have like an established household. So that's

[01:09:10] a problem is that red trees come from a time whenever like this is where they're just now moving in

[01:09:15] together as newlyweds. So they have a brand new house. They're trying to fill, you know. But in

[01:09:21] modern times, you live together for five years before you're married, you know, if you get married at

[01:09:27] all. Yeah. I just have a whole new world for me. I'm just, I'm so out of my death with this.

[01:09:33] Dude, so much of am I the asshole is wedding stuff in law stuff? It is just crazy the amount of

[01:09:41] crap I've been there. Weddings draw so much traffic for Amazon. I mean, like drama, it's drama all the

[01:09:46] time. Yeah, it's stressful. There's a bunch of moving pieces and people every like, feel like

[01:09:52] everybody in the family, even like outside of the bride and groom all have opinions about how

[01:09:57] everything needs to go. So yeah, a lot of a lot of Final Fantasy 14 on the subreddit too.

[01:10:05] Oh, dude, there's a surprising amount of Final Fantasy 14. Yeah. There's a lot.

[01:10:10] All right. So last round table around here, I don't think there's any assholes here besides the

[01:10:18] sister-in-law with the seam deck. She just needs to go up a little. Yeah. I think maybe at worst,

[01:10:24] she should have told her that she was going to change it rather than just changing it without

[01:10:27] letting her know. Because I think that a lot of the problem that she was going to spend her

[01:10:31] own money. She said she was going to buy it. Yeah. Yeah, that's the other part like,

[01:10:37] okay, so there's a little bit of like a little faux pas by putting it on the list in the first

[01:10:44] place. But then you're like, oh, you took it off the list. Like, what's wrong with you? And then

[01:10:48] then they're like, oh, I'll just buy you one with my own money. And at that point, you go,

[01:10:52] oh, okay, that sounds cool. Thank you. That's all I was going to say, though, is that I think that

[01:10:58] the I think that a lot of the animosity is coming from the fact that it was changed without

[01:11:02] them knowing. So like, they probably looked at it and saw it wasn't on there and then was like,

[01:11:08] what the hell? And she was in charge of the list. I do.

[01:11:14] She definitely saw it then. She probably threw a couple other things on the side at the bottom

[01:11:19] of the registry for her. Phillip, do you ever feel like angry at me whenever you go look at the

[01:11:26] at the episode and you see I changed the name and you're like, what the fuck I worked so hard on

[01:11:30] that name? Then you changed it without my knowledge times. But also, I don't care enough to fight

[01:11:36] you over it. I always think it's funny because one episode where you mess up our formatting and

[01:11:43] you put like you took away a space that's like after a colon or something like that. So it was like

[01:11:47] colon rubbing against the letters. And I'm like, this will phone. This is so cool. He is completely

[01:11:52] mistyped. So I had to go in there and edit it. The funny thing is the numbers in the description.

[01:11:59] I forget the numbers every time.

[01:12:02] You go in and fix that. We're like, welcome to episode 47. And then you look at the title.

[01:12:06] And it's actually 48.

[01:12:09] Clearly copy pasted this. And then you think about it. One thing I think is funny for the people who

[01:12:13] are on Patreon, they see this, but our episodes when Phillip names them, they always it's always

[01:12:20] Phillip's name. And then you'll get the normal free feed of the episode. And it's a different name.

[01:12:24] I just always think it's like preserving history. Yeah.

[01:12:28] Almost. Like I get to go back and look at what Phillip named the thing.

[01:12:32] Long time. Anyway, that was some shop talk shops, persons on a asshole.

[01:12:37] All right. Next up is my pick. So this one's from fit angle 69 43. And this is a burner account

[01:12:46] made for one post. Okay. No comments. No comments. No, there's comments. Okay. Oh,

[01:12:53] anything on anything. Yeah. All right. Am I the asshole for making fun of my girlfriend for

[01:12:58] writing fanfishing and claiming it's actually writing? Oh God. I'm on this guy's side right away.

[01:13:09] My girlfriend, Abby 31 and I 33 have been together for a few months. And this Easter,

[01:13:17] I was going to introduce her to my family. We haven't moved in together yet. Abby is quite

[01:13:23] smart. She has a PhD and works in her field. I only have a BA. So you can imagine my surprise

[01:13:30] when hot and smart woman wanted to date me. Anyway, what a pass.

[01:13:36] Get his BA. Oh my God. Anyway, I digress. Abby's passion is writing all the

[01:13:47] though she's never allowed me to read anything she wrote. She dreams of writing a book and says

[01:13:53] she's practicing and trying to draft things. One day I was staying over and fell asleep and she went

[01:14:00] to her office to write. When I woke up, I peered over her shoulder when she was writing and saw names

[01:14:06] that sounded familiar. I asked her about this. And sure enough, she admitted to writing fan fiction.

[01:14:12] Oh, apparently she already wrote a hundred thousand K fan fiction. Hold on. What's a hundred

[01:14:19] thousand K? It's a hundred thousand. A hundred thousand. Okay. What does that mean?

[01:14:24] But a hundred thousand fan fiction. What does that mean? I have no idea. It looks like a title.

[01:14:29] Okay. Maybe a hundred thousand words or something. Okay. That could be it. A hundred thousand

[01:14:34] words fan fiction, I guess. It is working on her third one. Oh, and we can just finish the sentence

[01:14:40] probably would have helped us with that. What? No, even the cynicism doesn't make sense. It's kind

[01:14:46] of like it's still bad. She wrote a hundred K fan fiction is working on her third one. Her third

[01:14:51] one what? Or third one hundred K fan fiction? Was a hundred K? Wait, is it 40 K? No, that's

[01:14:59] that's a that'd be a crazy typo. I don't know. Yeah. Although, let me look up a hundred K and see

[01:15:03] if is that is that like a type of a hundred K fan fiction. Okay, a hundred K is apparently a type of

[01:15:08] work in fan fiction. It's a novel length fan fiction. Oh, a hundred thousand words. So, yeah.

[01:15:14] Okay. We were on the right track. Okay. So she is she's working on her third

[01:15:18] novel length fan fiction. So that is that's a lot of writing. She says it's writing practice and

[01:15:26] she loves it. I told her it's cringy. And if she was serious about her book, she'd write it by now

[01:15:31] because she's pretty much already wrote two books. If only they weren't fan fiction. She got silent

[01:15:36] and told me to leave her alone. When I introduced her to my family, I mentioned that she has a PhD.

[01:15:42] My brother and sister got impressed and asked her about it. Abby tried to tell them but I

[01:15:46] interjected and told them not to be so impressed because she waste her time writing silly fan fiction.

[01:15:52] So I don't know how she even got her doctorate. It was meant to be a joke. It was meant to be

[01:15:58] a joke. Okay. I was going to say it was a joke for the record. It was meant to be a joke, but Abby was

[01:16:03] angry. She called me an asshole. She wouldn't talk to me for the rest of the day and asked me

[01:16:08] to drive her home. I tried to come in, but she told me she wanted to be alone and write her fan

[01:16:13] fiction. I told her she was childish but left anyway. I haven't heard back from her since. And I

[01:16:18] told my sister and my sister agreed with Abby. I tried to call Abby, but she texted me with

[01:16:23] asshole and nothing else. My sister thinks I owe Abby an apology, but I don't think I did anything

[01:16:29] wrong. And yet, Abby is annoyed. Was I really the asshole here?

[01:16:34] I want to point out before we start talking that the pinned comment is a mod saying in bold and

[01:16:40] giant letters, this thread is now locked to do an excess of violations. I always love when you see

[01:16:46] that in these in these threads. It means that they were bullying the shit out of this guy. Yeah,

[01:16:51] exactly. Yeah. The next comment is actually really good too. So it has that quote. It quotes

[01:16:57] from the original post. You can imagine my surprise when hot and smart woman wanted to date me.

[01:17:02] And they just said, we're surprised too. And also, I didn't notice it the first time,

[01:17:09] but he said hot and smart woman, just one singular woman. Just one. Yeah. The one that he's talking

[01:17:14] about here. I don't know. You're fumbling the bag, dude. She's got a PhD, man. You got to,

[01:17:21] you got to, you got to be nice to a man. She's going to be the breadwinner. Yeah, for sure. I feel like

[01:17:26] that. I mean, yeah, he was trying to do a joke, but like he was trying to like knock her down a peg

[01:17:32] just to like make himself feel better about himself. Yeah. He apparently does not feel secure

[01:17:38] about the fact that she has like several layer, several like higher levels of schooling than he does.

[01:17:45] Yeah. He had to school her in the streets. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds like, I don't know.

[01:17:55] He sounds like a dick, but also. As a dick myself, yes, I agree. It takes one to know one,

[01:18:03] just one probably makes one joke about fan fiction not being real and then doubles down on it like

[01:18:09] six more times. I mean, you understand. Do you guys believe in fan fiction is real, real writing?

[01:18:16] It's not. Yeah. Well, I mean, you're right. This is the thing. It's good practice. What I think

[01:18:21] about is that whenever you learning how to draw, there's an awesome PewDiePie video that he just

[01:18:26] recently did. It's a hundred days in a row of him drawing. And a lot of people were upset about,

[01:18:30] I swear this is relevant. A lot of people were upset that he was like using manga as like reference

[01:18:36] material. Like he was just straight up redrawing the manga panels, but that's genuinely one of the

[01:18:40] best ways to learn how to draw. And whenever you it's not drawing your own stuff, but you're

[01:18:44] learning you see what you think looks cool and you want to recreate that so that you can make

[01:18:48] you put your own spin on that. I think that fan fiction is the same where you're taking the

[01:18:53] stuff that isn't yours and then you're making your own kind of narrative with it with this established

[01:18:59] lore and everything. And then that helps you understand how lore integrates into your

[01:19:04] into your writing. And then you helps you write on your own and make up your own lore and try

[01:19:10] and learn how to help things like bob and weave into each other. And I think a lot of people see

[01:19:14] fan fiction as like, why would you waste your time doing something that you don't own? This is

[01:19:19] something that Colin Moriarty speaks about all the time on sacred symbols. And he's always saying like

[01:19:24] and not about fan fiction though, he talks about modding video games. He doesn't understand why

[01:19:28] people go into Skyrim and make giant mods or like the the recreation of Metroid 2, right?

[01:19:35] He someone remade that to look like modern and then they got shut down by Nintendo. Obviously

[01:19:39] they did. And he's like, why didn't you just use your expertise to make your own game? But people

[01:19:43] are doing this because they're passionate and also because it helps them understand why the

[01:19:48] things that they love are as interesting as they are because they are putting the pieces together

[01:19:53] to recreate that. And they are like seeing the fucking Matrix because of that, you know?

[01:19:59] I would argue that like when you when you try to write for like Hollywood and stuff like that,

[01:20:05] there's things called spec scripts where you're when you're trying to write for a show,

[01:20:09] you're writing essentially fan like a potential story for that show. So you're doing kind of like

[01:20:14] Oh, that's interesting. So I never thought about it that way. Like if you were to write your own

[01:20:18] episode and try to get like picked up or something. Yeah. So that's it wouldn't that would that be

[01:20:23] technically fan fiction then? I mean, it's published, I'd say. Yeah. Yeah. And then it's no longer fan

[01:20:30] fiction. That's just fiction. Yes. So wait, you're still if you're a fan, you know, I guess it depends

[01:20:36] on if you're a fan or not. No, we're getting lost in words now. We're lost in words to new

[01:20:42] laws for me. But yeah, I mean, and to your point, Dave, like even if you're like look like if

[01:20:49] that's what gets you into making your own game, like, yeah, it's why not the people who made the

[01:20:56] forgotten city, they started by making a mod for Skyrim, like, and then they went on to do that.

[01:21:02] But like, even if you don't, there's everyone always says that games like Skyrim are saved by

[01:21:07] people making mods. And like, you want to go back and play Fallout one without mods, without the

[01:21:13] people who've helped fix that game? Like, that's valuable things that people are making. Even,

[01:21:17] you know, like Thomas the Tank Engine. That's funny. That is broad value to people's lives

[01:21:24] in Skyrim. So I don't agree with the idea that that's worthless. And I used to like make fun of fan

[01:21:32] fiction back when like my only exposure to fan fiction was like, well, I wish that Harry and Ron

[01:21:37] would kiss in Harry Potter. Oh my gosh. That's peak fan fiction though. But even then like, I don't

[01:21:44] give a shit because somebody isn't seeing what they want to see in the story. So they're making it

[01:21:49] themselves like I don't care anymore because it doesn't affect me. And the people who are making it,

[01:21:54] it's bringing value to their life. So I don't like doesn't doesn't bother me. And like,

[01:22:00] sure, some people are making good fan fiction out there. So like argue that Twitter and like

[01:22:05] people that are very outspoken about a particular story or whatever that that then the writers

[01:22:14] actually like succumb to that and like add that to their show. That'd be like almost like

[01:22:19] people forcing their fan fiction into a story. It's definitely happened. I can't think of any

[01:22:25] specific examples, but that has for sure happened before. Yeah, like just getting influenced by your

[01:22:31] by what's going on around you. Yeah. But like, I think that, I don't know, I think the reason I've

[01:22:36] softened on fan fiction in particular is because I didn't understand who it was for before. And now

[01:22:43] I do understand why people make that kind of stuff. And that's just like talking about like the

[01:22:48] shipping fan fiction, which this person is writing like entire ass novels with that like

[01:22:55] probably has like narrative and stuff. And it's not just shipping a couple of characters together.

[01:23:00] So to say that that's not real writing is, is ridiculous. And like, again, like this,

[01:23:07] this dude is fumbling the bag, fumbling this situation that he seems to like have accidentally

[01:23:13] found himself in. And he's just fucking it up. All right.

[01:23:17] I don't know how the song goes. I think this is real or just possible fan fiction.

[01:23:26] That's a lot of fiction in here. Always have to consider that when you're on this subreddit.

[01:23:30] People just come up with situations. I'm dude, I'm considering it. The more we do this, the more

[01:23:35] I'm just like, I want to make up shit and just like fucking throw it down and see if it gets traction.

[01:23:41] Basically air like though, I think this could be real. Like the hidden spelling errors,

[01:23:45] grammar mistakes. But he's got a bachelor's. He's got to be smart. Why is he making grammatical

[01:23:50] errors? Oh my God. It would be funny. If you be funny, if he was considering doing this,

[01:23:57] like in the future, he was like, I'm going to call her out for her for her fan fiction,

[01:24:02] not being real writing. Let me just test the waters first on subreddit and we'll see how it goes.

[01:24:08] I mean, have you guys ever written fan fiction? I haven't. I don't write anything.

[01:24:13] I've written fan fiction before. I'm not. What universe? Like you don't have to get into it.

[01:24:18] Oh, I don't know. I'm kind of curious. It's you who's a fan fiction. Yeah, I wanted,

[01:24:23] I wanted Modima and Kiryu to kiss really bad.

[01:24:27] That has to happen in the series at some point. There's so much sexual tension, man.

[01:24:32] There's been so many games. They've been in there so often like there has to be some like

[01:24:36] accidental kiss where like Modima leans into kiss like a pretty late and Kiryu slips

[01:24:42] and falls into each other in the mouth or something like that.

[01:24:47] There is a, which I think this is in Yakuza Zero. So you're going to see this eventually,

[01:24:50] Philip, but in Yakuza Zero, there's a mechanic called Modima Everywhere. Or is this is this

[01:24:55] Kiwami one? I don't know. It's Kiwami one. Yeah, I had to walk it back. So in Kiwami one,

[01:25:01] there's a thing called Modima Everywhere. And one of them, he is, there is these cabaret clubs

[01:25:06] where you go where guys go. They pay money. They sit down with beautiful women and they just go

[01:25:10] basically paying for a date. And like these people work there. They're essentially the

[01:25:16] waitress, but they're also like your date at the same time, right? And there's one where Modima

[01:25:22] dresses up. So you go in there and he's there. And I can't remember his name. Do you remember his name,

[01:25:28] Dave? Modima's cabaret host his name. No, I don't. It's so, I don't remember either.

[01:25:35] It's very funny, though. I don't remember what I was talking about. Oh, like I don't remember

[01:25:40] how that ends either. I don't think they kiss because Kiryu clearly could tell it's Modima.

[01:25:43] But he takes him seriously. He's like, I guess this is what Modima wants to do now.

[01:25:48] I guess I'll go on a date with him. So stupid. Goro me his name is Goro Modima and his host

[01:25:57] his name is Goro me. Hold on. Wait, let me get a picture of him. So everyone can see they already

[01:26:04] know as we look up, but this is Goro me. It's pretty obvious.

[01:26:14] I forgot about the eye patch. I forgot. Man, that was a tangent. I really forgot. I had an actual

[01:26:20] point. We're talking about fan fiction writing. Oh, okay. So fan fiction, there's this amazing

[01:26:28] piece of fan fiction. Okay, so everyone knows how I think about the last of us too.

[01:26:31] The fan fiction is about that. But the video is by a YouTube channel called The Closer Look.

[01:26:38] And the video is called How to Divide a Fan Base, The Last of Us Too. And it's basically half of

[01:26:43] the video is dissecting why it was so divisive. I can link it if you guys want to watch it later.

[01:26:48] It's like two hours long. I'm not watching that. I know. But this is the thing is that he

[01:26:54] writes. He rewrites The Last of Us Too so that it basically has the same narrative structure.

[01:27:00] But it is written just in a different way that is more like, I don't know how to, I don't want

[01:27:07] to say better because people love the story. People either love it or hate it. But the way that he

[01:27:11] wrote it actually brought tears to my eyes towards the end. Like I was like, this is good. Like what

[01:27:16] he wrote. And he just kind of reads it out, you know, but it's a really cool video. You can skip

[01:27:22] the first half if you don't want to hear any more Last of Us fucking arguing because he's not like,

[01:27:27] he's not a negative person. He's just like this dissecting why he thinks that the narrative fell

[01:27:33] flat for a lot of people. And it makes a lot of sense because of the choices that they made.

[01:27:38] Like clearly that's going to rub people the wrong way. And we're seeing that with the Suicide Squad

[01:27:42] game too. Like it's really cool. Even if you really like stories to hear the side of people who don't

[01:27:50] like it, like who can articulate why they don't like it and show you what's going on so that you can

[01:27:55] hear and understand and like try and like figure out different ways to tell stories that can be

[01:28:00] interesting but also provocative. You know what I mean? You know, anyways, it's a good point with

[01:28:04] that actually because if we look at Western comics such as Batman, there are so many different authors

[01:28:11] that write different Batman comics. And much of them are considered canon. Most of them are actually

[01:28:17] even though they can like Batman will have five different books that come out one month

[01:28:23] by different authors all at the same time in a continuous series. And it's just insane because it

[01:28:29] feels almost like it could be fan fiction at that point even when it is actively being published.

[01:28:35] I don't know. Like I believe that fan fiction can be non-cringy. I think there's definitely

[01:28:41] cringy fan fiction. But I think that it is a valuable skill to develop as well. I don't think

[01:28:46] any of us are are you. Have you guys seen the YouTube? I'm doing it again.

[01:28:50] I'm just pulling on YouTube videos. But they the internet no internet historian read fan fiction

[01:28:57] for Harry Potter. I think the video series is called My Immortal. And it is so funny. It's so funny.

[01:29:05] Guys, you guys. There's a lot of kissing going on. It is just only men reading it to each other.

[01:29:14] It's so funny. And they have like little little animations going on. It's good.

[01:29:24] All right. That's enough of that one. Dave wanted me to pick one for him that would shock him or

[01:29:28] something. I don't remember what your exact request was. But I found this one. I thought it would be

[01:29:33] enough. We all said asshole for this, right? Yeah, I think it was round table asshole, right?

[01:29:38] No one. No one's going to send this guy. Oh, yeah, read. I'm on his. No, he's an asshole. Okay.

[01:29:47] So throw away check for the username throwaway three, four, five, six going to go on a limb.

[01:29:52] Say this at throw away. A lot of comments though. So Philip, you have you already read this?

[01:29:58] I've already. Yeah. I mean, I've found this one. Yeah, go through. Yeah, Philip found this for me

[01:30:03] because I was doing something. I didn't want to look. And the title is, am I the asshole for

[01:30:08] not letting my daughter 16 watch anime anymore? Dude, something about these titles? I just immediately

[01:30:15] am on their side. Like, maybe that's for the best. So well written. All right. I read it a few days

[01:30:22] ago. I had to put my foot down and stop my daughter from watching anime. This needs some context as I

[01:30:28] don't want people to think I have an issue with the medium or Japanese culture. Is this why you picked

[01:30:32] it for me? Japanese culture right now. It's just funny. So my daughter, Marianne, Marianne,

[01:30:39] cool name, has been pretty obsessed with anime since she was 12. At first, I didn't see this as a

[01:30:45] big issue. I was scared about the social ramifications because my older son, Silvio,

[01:30:50] dude, this guy is on it with naming his kids. Holy shit. Oh, yeah. Silvio 19 used to tell us about

[01:30:55] kids in school that people made fun of called weaves. Oh, pause. Okay, I got a bit.

[01:31:01] So me and Jana have just started watching attack on Titan for the first time ever. We're on episode

[01:31:07] like 14 or something like that. No spoilers. And my oldest daughter comes in. She's 16. She's

[01:31:13] like, Oh, what are you guys watching? And I'm like, Oh, we're watching an attack on Titan. It's

[01:31:16] pretty cool. It's about this big naked dudes walking around. And she's like, Oh man, those weird anime

[01:31:25] kids in my school always talk about that show. And I'm like, Oh, so you want to watch an episode

[01:31:30] that you've heard something's like, I would never be friends with those weird games. You talk

[01:31:40] someone and then you see did not this person did not like the double minus symbol above their head

[01:31:46] whenever they talk about something that I was like, Oh, critical. I'm like, man, I would have

[01:31:51] not been friends with my daughter in high school. It's got to be rough. I think feel like a lot of

[01:31:57] parents go through that though. You know what I mean? Something like that. All right, you can resume.

[01:32:02] Ah, dude, I have no idea where I want to be honest. Weaves control F weaves. All right. I was scared.

[01:32:10] I was scared. Marianne would become one of those people, but I held my tongue because my

[01:32:15] wife was of the opinion that children will do what children do. My first problem with her and

[01:32:21] with my first problem with her enemies started when during our dinners, she would start by what she

[01:32:30] what started when during our dinners, she would start by what she called thanking for the food in

[01:32:35] Japanese. Sorry, some of these sentences just give me stroke sometimes. All right, Silvio said he saw

[01:32:42] her do it out in school once, which scared me. Silvio said she's Silvio said he saw her do it

[01:32:50] out. Do what? Yeah, it was an it's a Docy Moss. Yeah. Oh, okay. He's I don't know this fucking

[01:32:57] shit. All right. So this was weird, but wasn't the end of the world, but not long after not long

[01:33:03] after she started wanting to get into hold on. I'm going to full screen this. This guy's

[01:33:08] like one chunky paragraph. Yeah. All right. This was weird, but wasn't the end of the world, but

[01:33:14] not long after she started wanting to get into what she says is cosplaying.

[01:33:20] Where a person's dresses as characters from an anime, I guess, period, she showed me prices for

[01:33:27] whatever it is she needed to buy. And it was absurdly high. She eventually got her own job

[01:33:33] with her brother at a local country club. So she so she got to buy her own stuff, which was fine

[01:33:38] until she finally finished her costume last week. What I mean is that the costume was finished and

[01:33:44] she was happy. And I was trying to bond with her. So I asked her questions about who she's meant to be.

[01:33:53] This is a mistake because she described to me that her character was from a show with so much god damn

[01:33:59] incest that like it was no big deal. I was mortified. I knew she watched some weird stuff,

[01:34:06] but incest was taking it way too far. I mean, she has a brother like WTF. I told her that from

[01:34:12] now on, she's forbidden from watching those shows as she flipped out calling me an asshole. My wife

[01:34:17] was mostly weirded out, but compared it to how much porn nowadays relies so much on incest while my

[01:34:25] son just said he knew she watched things like that and found it creepy. It's been a few days

[01:34:32] since she's still really upset. So Reddit, am I the asshole update? So Marianne is still banned

[01:34:39] from watching these shows. The more I looked into what I was told, the less I wanted to let her

[01:34:45] return to them. The medium feels so perverted and as such, I can't allow her to watch these things.

[01:34:49] Also, for those living in Dallas like me and my family, please stay safe during these protests

[01:34:56] and please help support the family of victims of police brutality to exclamation points.

[01:35:02] This is from, yeah, called back to 40 years ago.

[01:35:08] I have a headache from reading the fuck you, Phil, for giving me that one.

[01:35:11] This guy broke like three sentences per sentence and I just had to like put in sarcomas and

[01:35:17] fucking parentheses wherever I could mentally. Holy shit, that was awful.

[01:35:23] All right, so this raised a lot of problems. Dad is upset because daughter is turning herself

[01:35:30] into a weird wee watching incest TV shows.

[01:35:36] Yeah, I know, but if you look at like the top comments, they highlight some

[01:35:40] big ones that apparently also feature incest, such as Game of Thrones, Game of Thrones,

[01:35:44] yeah, as like the top one. Also, they say something about like how poor nowadays relies

[01:35:52] so much on incest, like spoiler alert, they're not brother and sister in those videos. They just

[01:35:57] say they are. Okay, it's okay. It's fine.

[01:36:01] Let's see. I don't know.

[01:36:07] I do.

[01:36:07] It's so weird. The Harry Potter's thread that starts up in this real deep.

[01:36:12] Yeah, where? Yeah, yeah, basically.

[01:36:15] Oh, I see all the more as I'm scrolling. I'm like, oh, I know that word.

[01:36:19] Yeah, there's a big Harry Potter debate going on, which which parts incest or not.

[01:36:24] Oh, wait, hold on. Wait, or how about all the cartoons we watch in our

[01:36:27] lifetimes? Powerpuff Girls had an episode where the girls create a new sister only for her to die.

[01:36:31] Gargoyles had an episode where the where a chapter is shot in cold blood accidentally and

[01:36:37] fucking SpongeBob of all things as an episode can consisting of Plankton being tortured,

[01:36:43] isolated. Oh, this they're just going, but what about this?

[01:36:46] Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

[01:36:47] Yeah. I don't know. These comments are wild.

[01:36:52] Holy shit. How did this thread not get locked?

[01:36:55] But the other one, what was going on in the other thread?

[01:36:59] Then I've been like burning. I do got a it's like I got to say like there are problems with

[01:37:06] anime though. Like I've got to seem sort of online. No, but I've played a video game of it.

[01:37:12] All right. And I was very surprised by some things that happened in that game.

[01:37:17] There's a part where it turns out like is sit the main character's like sister starts hitting on

[01:37:21] him like halfway through the second season and she becomes like a love interest. But she's it's like

[01:37:27] it's not great. Not great.

[01:37:29] Luke and Leah kiss. Yeah, but they didn't know. Everyone loves the rest of development.

[01:37:34] Michael said this cousin in that show.

[01:37:37] I don't know. Anyway, it seems like an interesting line. But I think that so he's bringing up the

[01:37:44] incest over and over again. I don't think it's as much that. I think that's the shocking thing that

[01:37:48] he got that was revealed to him. But I think it's also the the sexual nature just in general.

[01:37:54] And I think that anime has a lot of fan service. And I know because I'm fucking entrenched in it

[01:38:01] right now. And a lot of the shows that I watch are kind of shows that just avoid that. And I

[01:38:06] don't know if that's I don't know if I consciously chose that because I watch a ton of spy family.

[01:38:11] I watch I watch Bochi the rock. I watch what else do I what I don't I can't remember. Oh,

[01:38:18] the Fryron show doesn't really have fanservices either. And I don't know if I consciously

[01:38:22] am aware that I'm picking animes that just don't have that or what. But it is there.

[01:38:29] I know I actively avoid like fan service and amaze because you know I have kids and everything.

[01:38:34] And I'm also not a 14 year old boy with full of hormones right now.

[01:38:38] Well, hold on because I don't I like me some boobies too. But yeah, I love it.

[01:38:43] What was it? Space dandy literally has a place called boobies. That's my favorite part is when

[01:38:50] they go there. Dave, you got something? It's just like this is a classic thing of like a parent

[01:38:59] thinking that something that they don't really understand is stupid and then saying like you're

[01:39:04] not allowed to do it. So I mean, like they talk about like how they the the kid says itadakimasu

[01:39:12] at at at you know, mealtime or whatever. And they think that's weird. And people are going to

[01:39:17] be mean to them or whatever. But like, it's not wrong. Whom stomarnas has not done some

[01:39:22] unbearable some embarrassing shit. Oh, yeah. When we got your right. I got one.

[01:39:28] One time when I was in like second grade, we were doing track and field and PE

[01:39:33] and I did a Naruto run. Yeah, no shit. No shit. I got halfway through and the PE teacher,

[01:39:41] this is the same teacher that asked me where I learned the word fatigue from, by the way,

[01:39:45] the same school. So what the P I was halfway down the little strip and he said, what are you

[01:39:51] doing? Get back over here. And as I was walking, he said, why are you running around like Batman?

[01:39:55] Run like a normal person. And I'll never forget that.

[01:39:58] I mean, it's like Naruto. Oh, no, he has his like arms to his side and his cape as he runs.

[01:40:04] Yeah. Right. Yeah. It's it's not a normal way to run.

[01:40:09] I don't know, which is the funniest thing was I never saw a single episode of Naruto. I just saw

[01:40:14] another kid doing it. And I was like, oh, that's kind of cool. I was going to say, maybe you

[01:40:18] didn't see you didn't ever watch Naruto, but it turns out that the Naruto run is the natural state

[01:40:24] of humans running. We all yearn to do it.

[01:40:29] Yeah. It's keeping us from our roots. Right. So Naruto fans rise up.

[01:40:36] Just how you want to a world history book to the caveman section and they're all right.

[01:40:40] Oh, yeah. It's aerodynamic as fuck, bro. It makes sense, right? Yeah. Yeah. I I don't know this,

[01:40:53] like it's okay to be concerned about like subject material. Like let's just ignore that this is

[01:41:01] anime and just assume that your kid is watching anything that has stuff that you think is like,

[01:41:08] you know, inappropriate or like to quote mature or whatever. Like the answer as a parent, I feel

[01:41:15] like is not to say you can never it's like if if if like my parents came in and saw me watching

[01:41:21] the South Park movie during the scene when Big Gay Al is singing and dancing naked full frontal.

[01:41:28] It's like if they walked in, which did happen, that did happen, but they walked in and saw that

[01:41:32] and they were like, okay, you can never watch movies again. That's what's happening. Yeah. Right.

[01:41:37] Well, I think that's not the way to do it. I don't know if it would be movies. I think it would be

[01:41:41] like South Park, right? No, there's no same cartoons or cartoons. You can never watch cartoons again.

[01:41:48] Yeah. You can never watch anything on Comedy Central because of something we saw on South Park,

[01:41:55] which is like not the way. But is the easier way?

[01:42:00] Yeah. Is the easy way. Yeah. Blanket remove. Yeah. Yeah. All you're going to do is turn this into

[01:42:05] like some forbidden activity that they do behind your back and then they like get real pissed off

[01:42:11] and hate you forever because you tried to control their life. Oh, like Powerpuff Girls.

[01:42:16] Yeah. Yes. I mean, well, okay. Well, my dad stopped. Okay. My dad, I just realized that that was an

[01:42:23] only me situation. My dad forbade me from watching Powerpuff Girls when I was a little kid because

[01:42:28] of him and he just didn't understand him. So he's like, you just, you can't.

[01:42:32] For instance, him, the devil, Kostra thing. Yeah.

[01:42:35] And to be fair, him is scary. I didn't know I understand him either.

[01:42:41] But then I watched Powerpuff Girls at my friend's houses. So it didn't really stop me from doing anything.

[01:42:46] I think my parents stopped me from watching us all swim after watching home movies.

[01:42:52] I don't know if you guys know. Oh, yes. That one. It's not even that. Really? Yeah. No, that's not

[01:42:58] that bad. No, it's like, I don't know. I feel like Bob's Burgers probably rougher than home movies

[01:43:04] by today's standards. Yeah. But I'm trying to think back to just like dumb stuffy watch growing up,

[01:43:08] like Shinchan, the amount of little boy penis that comes on the screen.

[01:43:13] I watched Ace Ventura pet detective 300 times when I was like 10 years old.

[01:43:22] So, and like that wasn't there. Like he gets a blowjob in like the first 10 minutes of that movie.

[01:43:29] I don't remember that. I don't remember that either. I mean, they don't show, they don't show

[01:43:33] it or anything. But like, you know, that's what's happening. She asks right before if she can take

[01:43:38] his pants off for him. So, yeah. So like, I don't know, little kids watch stuff. I

[01:43:44] well, I don't think I became some kind of weird, you know, sex pest or something like that.

[01:43:49] That's exactly what a sex pest would say. He's on the internet. He's on the sickos.

[01:43:55] Yeah, the sickos. Yeah. I have to finish this podcast soon because I have to take my clothes off

[01:44:00] and go do weird dances on the streets of Honolulu. Go hang off of it. Go hang off of a white ball.

[01:44:06] Yeah. But yeah, the like just, just pretend again, pretend you watch Game of Thrones and saw Jamie

[01:44:12] and and Cersei fucking in episode one, episode one, they didn't hide it. It's in episode one.

[01:44:19] So you saw that and they were like, okay, you never watching any prestige drama ever again

[01:44:25] because of that happened. That's what this is. That's what they're doing here. And it's

[01:44:28] only easier to do it because it's Japanese and has a bunch of cultural things that they don't

[01:44:33] understand. I think the age is pretty relevant though. Like she's like 16. That's how old my daughter

[01:44:39] is. Like at this point, I let my daughter watch pretty much whatever she wants. It was long as she

[01:44:45] like asked first. Yeah, time deal. You know, like, hey, can I watch Bojack Horseman? I'm like,

[01:44:50] I don't think you're going to like it. But yeah, you can. Like I don't think you're going to get it

[01:44:55] because I don't know if I get it. But you can watch it a lot. I can't do it. I can't watch that

[01:45:00] show. It just makes it tears me up inside. I'm like, I can't fucking keep doing this to myself.

[01:45:04] It's hardcore. This is like a therapy session for me. It's terrible.

[01:45:08] It's weird because like, I feel like when I was 16, I was watching what like Futurama

[01:45:12] or not. That's the thing. Dude, I was watching Futurama and I hated it because I didn't understand

[01:45:17] anything though. I didn't understand why Futurama was funny. But now I watch it as an adult. I'm

[01:45:20] like, this is the funniest fucking ever. Dude, there isn't, there's a part by just randomly

[01:45:24] just watching an episode. And it's an early one. And there's a button and they're like,

[01:45:29] you just press that button for this thing to happen. I don't remember. And Fry misses the button.

[01:45:33] Like he did, he just missed right next to it. And then he hits the button. And it made me laugh

[01:45:38] so fucking hard because it's so stupid. You know what I mean? But like me as a kid would have never

[01:45:44] found that funny. I wouldn't have even understood the joke. Right. Right. We're thinking about like,

[01:45:49] what would be that like always sunny in Philadelphia, maybe? I'm not letting a fucking 16 year old

[01:45:55] daughter watch always sunny, bro. The first episode, aren't they dropping in bombs the whole

[01:45:59] episode? It's one of the one of the first episodes. Yeah. God. I mean, there's just

[01:46:07] only worse things than anime out there. I feel I do, I do understand the perspective of he doesn't

[01:46:13] understand it. So he's banning it from it. And that's kind of like a blanket thing. But I'm going to

[01:46:18] be honest, I think that it's his daughter. And if he doesn't want to watch anime, then

[01:46:25] it's specifically, but it's specifically because of the sexual stuff too. And it's like, I it's hard

[01:46:30] to argue that there's no sexual stuff in anime. You can give you you can give a million examples

[01:46:35] of anime that doesn't have that shit in it. But like, but she's gonna watch, she doesn't.

[01:46:40] That's the thing is that if he doesn't understand anime, he can walk in and she could be watching

[01:46:45] anything. And he has no idea if it's full metal alchemist or if it's, uh, I can't think of a

[01:46:50] space dandy. You know what I mean? If he walks in and there's just a normal shit going on,

[01:46:54] he's not going to know that she's not watching a sexual one. And I mean, 16 is the point in time

[01:46:59] at which you're going to start wanting to watch it like that. But unless you unless he's okay,

[01:47:05] or she's okay with him watching something with her, like they make it into a thing.

[01:47:10] That is a this is the thing. It's like dude, it's like if you if I can sit and watch it with you

[01:47:15] and you don't die of cringe, then you can watch the anime. Yeah, that's a pretty good barometer of

[01:47:20] like let's watch a few episodes together and see if you don't want to jump out of the window.

[01:47:26] Because I don't want I when I was 16, I did not want to watch like in yasha with my dad

[01:47:31] because of all of the love interest in me. So funny. It's hard. Your dad is so good too. Like

[01:47:36] if you're perfect for that, my dad, you guys don't know my dad, but he is

[01:47:42] he's not the person you want to do.

[01:47:46] Well, it's like with my middle child, she's 11 and the way I basically

[01:47:51] parent her on what she gets to watch or whatever is like I will watch an episode with her

[01:47:55] before like you know a couple just to see how it is or whatever and I found some good shows.

[01:47:59] I've also found a lot of shitty ass Disney channel shows that I can like I can't sit through them.

[01:48:07] Like she's watching this fine. I mean, well, I'm really cringing to death as I'm watching what is

[01:48:12] probably like the spiritual successor of the sweet laugh life of a Zack and Cody.

[01:48:17] Now they're like a summer camper or something like that.

[01:48:19] Oh, you were talking about bunked? It bonked. Yeah.

[01:48:24] Oh my god. I like it.

[01:48:25] My kids watch that all the time. I'm like, why are you? I can't handle it.

[01:48:28] It's stupid. That shit is bongonged.

[01:48:31] Has like a spin off too. Where I forgot what it was called. Where it's like it's the name of

[01:48:36] the babysitter or something like that. Jesse. No, that Jesse is the one that's that the bunk spins

[01:48:41] off of. Oh, is that it? Okay. I didn't know.

[01:48:44] But I didn't know I was going to get the Biden universe.

[01:48:48] Like I sit down with my daughter. I'm like, Hey, let's let's watch a show together. What do you

[01:48:51] want to watch? Oh, we all watch with you. And she puts on Jesse and I'm like, Oh man,

[01:48:57] it's a long 22 minutes. They're so good. So whatever I went on Christmas, I went and visited

[01:49:04] my mom and my little sister and like there's a bunch of kids running around and I brought

[01:49:08] Dontre there because he didn't have power to stop. So he was I was like, Hey, come on fucking to my

[01:49:12] hometown with me. And we were watching whatever the fuck these kids watch on YouTube, which is the

[01:49:18] worst fucking garbage I've ever seen in my life. God, I fucking hate it. No, it's not even YouTube

[01:49:22] kids. It's just some random YouTube channel and they're just doing horrible shit. And like,

[01:49:26] Dontre has enough. He's like, I can't stand this anymore. And he goes and he pulls up a fucking music

[01:49:31] video for something I don't know. And there is just chicks working and shit on screen. And the

[01:49:37] older of the kids, the boy is just like, mesmer. He has never seen anything like this. And he is

[01:49:43] just like, what is this? And I'm just like, like watching this happen. Like, Dontre, can you change

[01:49:51] that? I don't know if he should be watching this. He's nine years old. You're scarring the boy.

[01:50:00] All right. I don't know if that the torquing is worse than the original shit that he was watching. I

[01:50:05] don't know what's doing more damage because it was some fucking smooth brain ass shit that he was

[01:50:09] watching before. God, I hated it. I'm trying to remember what channel was. I was watching a channel,

[01:50:14] but their whole purpose was basically just to scrape YouTube kids for some of the most

[01:50:19] stupid shit that they put on there. Like the lamppost or siren head and stuff like that.

[01:50:24] Oh, like skimmy toilet and shit. Yeah, just like real bad stuff. Like it's like Spider-Man

[01:50:29] Mary's Fiona from Shrek.

[01:50:34] There's some holes that you can go through in YouTube. No pun.

[01:50:37] Yeah, there's some. But that's like left stop. It's like fucking what's your name from frozen,

[01:50:42] giving birth to Sonic the Hedgehog and I'm like, what? And like Mario is there and I'm like, what is

[01:50:48] going on? And I can just picture the kids watch this on YouTube and then as a playground,

[01:50:52] the next day they're like, you won't believe it. Elsa gave birth to Sonic the Hedgehog and he's like,

[01:50:58] no way. All right, fanfiction, bro, fanfiction. That's what it is. Well, let's round table assholes here.

[01:51:08] The dad, the dad's an asshole just for like taking the quick, like, I don't want to deal with this at

[01:51:14] all. I don't want to talk about it. No more. Asshole. Yeah, I agree.

[01:51:20] So I think this should be a conversation. This should be a conversation.

[01:51:23] It seems like there was a conversation or maybe not a conversation, but he was doing research. He

[01:51:27] was doing the deep recon and he was deep recon. He went on Google and typed in horniest anime.

[01:51:34] Yeah, exactly. Yeah. That good. He said he looked more into the show and more or less what he

[01:51:45] learned. He feels even worse. So I think the specific show should be bad. I don't know. He

[01:51:51] doesn't, he doesn't bring it up. But this is the thing. This is the problem that I'm saying is

[01:51:56] that when you go, man, what's that anime that has a lot of sexy stuff and also incest? And

[01:52:00] I'm like, that describes a billion of them. Like, I don't know what you mean. That does not narrow

[01:52:05] it down even a little bit. And that's a little bit of the problem is that maybe there is a problem

[01:52:10] with anime and sexuality, but it's also like the culture. So I mean, I don't know. I do think he

[01:52:16] is a little bit of an asshole for what you guys are saying though, but I'm going soft asshole.

[01:52:19] Real quick.

[01:52:20] Down. He went in and said that he would describe the anime, but he never actually does it.

[01:52:30] Sadly, I don't know the name. If it can help, I can give you. Yeah. I'm from Mexico. Okay. So

[01:52:38] that explains why the fucking it's in broken English. Okay. Yeah. And he says he only knows

[01:52:42] about Dragon Ball Z. He only has a Roshi there. Yeah, he's he's real pervy, especially in Dragon

[01:52:50] original. All right. Yeah. So he never gives away the show, sadly. Yeah, he doesn't. He said his

[01:52:56] wife knows more about anime. So I don't know if what he's learning is about from her or something.

[01:53:00] It doesn't. I just picture this, you know, like the stereotypical Mexican guy with the button

[01:53:05] up shirt and the boots, you know, and he's like, yeah, the classic Texan guy.

[01:53:12] Okay. All right. With that, I want to thank our guests for coming out. Chris, thank you for

[01:53:22] coming out. How many of you have a little blast blur for your show for our listeners to go check

[01:53:25] you out? Sure. Thanks again for having me on the show. This was fun. And you'll get got to hang

[01:53:31] with Dave again. So that was cool. Yeah. And yeah, I'm I'm one half of the one hour one decision

[01:53:37] podcast where we play a random game on Xbox game pass and for an hour and figure out if it's

[01:53:43] worth it. It's worth it to play past that hour. So that's our most recent thing was,

[01:53:51] well, on next episode is going to be talking about pal world. So relevant, spicy, the current

[01:53:58] zeitgeist. Yeah. I genuinely do want to hear what Tom has to say about that. Yeah, first hour is

[01:54:04] interesting. Yeah, it is. It really is. It gets deep. Like, I don't know, like the first hour,

[01:54:10] I don't think is that telling of the overall greater experience, but I'll have to listen and

[01:54:15] see what you guys say. Yeah. I think that's the experience a lot of the time in one hour,

[01:54:18] which probably makes why why one hour one decision so compelling, I think, is because if you go

[01:54:24] explicitly with that lens, it really changes the way that you play a game. Yeah, for sure.

[01:54:29] And Dave, I want to thank you for coming out. How many of you spill the beans on your show.

[01:54:34] Of course. Yeah. So I'm the host of Tales from the backlog, which is a weekly backlog game review

[01:54:40] podcast. Each week we do a backlog game or a new game. And we do the episode like six months late.

[01:54:47] So yeah, every episode we go as deep as we can with no spoilers for a long time. And then we warn

[01:54:53] you when the spoilers start. And then afterwards, full spoiler discussion episodes are pretty long.

[01:54:58] Two to three hours is the the usual.

[01:55:02] Naive has been on the show a couple times. Chris has been on the show before. And we've got to get

[01:55:06] Philip on the show sometime for sure. And then I also do another podcast that Naive has been on

[01:55:11] called a top three podcast where we do top three lists. We do draft episodes and other goofy stuff

[01:55:18] like that. So yeah, those are the two. And I appreciate you guys having me back. We're glad to have you

[01:55:23] and all those shows will be linked down below. And with that, Naive, what are we playing next week?

[01:55:29] I don't know, man. I don't know. Maybe World War Z. I have it installed. I also have war zone

[01:55:36] installed. If you want to try that out. Yeah. Well, the problem is so I downloaded war Z like

[01:55:41] 20 gigs. I'm like, yeah, whatever. But you're like, maybe war zone download that too. And I'll

[01:55:45] get the 180 gigs. I'm like, I'm not, I'm not downloading that unless I'm sure.

[01:55:50] I have it installed. So come on, you can sacrifice one of the Yakuza titles. You have

[01:55:55] an install year and then install, you know, Call of Duty, which I'd uninstalled Starfield

[01:56:00] to install Call of Duty. RIP Starfield. Yeah. It's gonna be on your PlayStation.

[01:56:06] Anyways, yeah, just go play on PlayStation. All right. And thanks for joining us this week.

[01:56:11] Oh, partners, maybe next time we can all be sickos hanging from lamppos together.

[01:56:15] I'm watching sexy anime and stuff. See you. Bye. Transcription results written to '/home/forge/transcribe.sonicengage.com/releases/20240207164810' directory
