[00:02:45] games. And so, you know, each week we pretty much just talk about, you know, what we're playing some silly, crazy things that our kids are doing or saying, which is oftentimes

[00:02:51] pretty entertaining to us at least. You know, we'll usually talk about new games that are

[00:02:56] coming out, you know, what's been released recently. And since, you know, my wife and

[00:03:02] I game together, we do a lot of co-ops too. So, some why those kids passed out behind you though. Yeah, what's going on? We're all really looking at the couches. So many passed out kids. I think it was like last summer or something. I was down in my mom's and I had my kids with me and my 16 year old. She saw that I was drinking, I was drinking like a fruity beer thing. So it had like fruit on the outside and it was like orange, beer type thing or whatever.

[00:04:25] And she's like, Dad, I want to drink of that.

[00:04:27] And I'm like coffee with the used coffee grounds that had just been sitting on the counter. For a second. You're cycling, I guess, like reusing coffee grounds and it would make some pretty gross coffee. And I just assumed that's just how it was.

[00:05:41] And it was this was obvious.

[00:05:42] Super weak.

[00:05:43] Yeah, it was like, not to mention, I do. You guys familiar with Secret of Mana for

[00:07:01] Super Nintendo? Yeah, that game

[00:08:21] actually had you could plug in a second controller and play that co-op. And to me, I think what kind of sets it apart to like other coops is most coops, it's a combined like, you know, effort, I guess, some of the efforts of both people to like, even if one person's really good and one person's less experienced, you know, you can kind of carry somebody through most coops. But if like over over cook didn't really have a lot of that. It was a lot of it's very demanding. Like, yeah, you need like,

[00:09:43] almost equal participation from like both sides'd be like, let's play a game. I was like, oh, we should try to do overcooked thing out. So we throw overcooked on and it was not bad at first,

[00:11:00] but it got to the point where I was like,

[00:11:01] do you not know the difference between a fucking onion

[00:11:04] and a goddamn tomato?

[00:11:05] Like it got intense and she was like,

[00:11:07] just through the controller that I No, I absolutely have played them all. So I'm like, I'm playing them again and I'm just reliving the sadness. God, that's tough. I don't know, but I'm getting achievements. So I mean, like my gamer score is growing. That's pretty cool, which I don't know what kind of person it takes to replay a

[00:12:21] level just to go back and get the other achievements or is that what you're doing?

[00:12:25] Like you doing your alternate path?

[00:12:27] No, no, not.

[00:13:22] and it had a whole bunch of new achievements. Like it's the same achievements,

[00:13:23] but I can get them again, essentially.

[00:13:26] And so that's what I've been doing.

[00:13:30] And then goes round to a game I'm playing,

[00:13:31] Tragquest Treasures on Switch.

[00:13:33] So there are no achievements.

[00:13:35] I'm just playing it.

[00:13:36] Yeah, it's a new, my Japanese play through

[00:13:38] and it's going pretty good.

[00:13:40] I'm about to collect all the seven Dragonstones

[00:13:42] and save the world.

[00:13:45] Dragonstones? Dragon Balls. in like a slight spoilers, I guess. You go on a big quest where you fight Vikings and you rescue his sister and they talk about their past of growing up dressed. I don't know, pirates pretty much. You're playing that story. Oh, man, I'm going to have to get this game because Dragon Quest 11 is like a masterpiece, in my opinion. Oh, yeah. It's good. It's insanely good.

[00:15:03] Why?

[00:15:04] Because I got like halfway through it and I was like, oh, my God.

[00:15:08] It's still good.

[00:16:05] version is on 3DS. That version is insanely good. They did a lot of really good quality of life tweaks, but the original on PS2 is still pretty good. It's just got a lot of

[00:16:10] random encounters, but they toned it down on the 3DS one.

[00:16:13] Oh, it was awesome. I have played builders. And builders is okay. It's not bad. Yeah.

[00:16:21] It's fun. But yeah, definitely check out is. It's the original Metroid on Ness with a lot of crazy quality of life stuff. Like there's a map now. You can hold our one because basically what they did was

[00:17:43] they ported it to Super Nintendo. So ituz there's a lot of patches that you have to apply Yeah, it was like he had it already pre-patched and just like sent me like a Google Drive I'll send you the same one. Oh, please do that would help a lot because I do enjoy fan hacks

[00:19:01] Especially like Pokemon stuff like that but the amount of effort it takes like upload your own ROMs give that patch

[00:20:04] And one of the things that I've been playing a little bit more is Sega Saturn on that thing. And my buddy and I played through Saturn Bomberman from start to finish and it is probably one

[00:20:10] of the funnest co-op games I've ever played.

[00:20:13] Really?

[00:20:14] It is insanely fun.

[00:20:16] Like, have you played many Bomberman games?

[00:20:19] Oh, it played a lot of Bomberman.

[00:20:21] I've never played anything on the Saturn though.

[00:20:23] I think it might be, there might be like one other Bomberman game on Saturn and it's more door and on my Xbox. I waited for that remake. No, I wanted to do it kind of like give the old feel. Yeah, it is. The original still holds up. It's super, super good. The other thing that I had here was so I'm going to kind of combine the last two that I wrote down here because one thing that I really enjoy

[00:21:41] that kind of has opened up my co-op playability a lot. You guys you were playing you got a sabotage each other. Yeah, you don't really know the games too goddamn hard to do that Yeah, me and Philip we talked about this like three episodes ago But like we had this like airsoft pistol that we were not afraid to shoot each other with Like no, we had a friend Steven and look we'd be playing rock band I don't know why we get super competitive and like he would pull out the airsoft pistol shoot me in the knee while I was playing drums

[00:23:03] And I was just like

[00:24:02] Technically, I beat the final boss.

[00:24:08] The only one I only I haven't done that I really want to cross off my list is beat millennia. I don't know if you Heard about her. Yeah, so I'm probably like 50 attempts in and I feel like I'm probably at least another 50

[00:24:17] 200 away from being able to beat or he's playing the wind are using the

[00:24:21] An appropriate builder you just like brick wall. Really?

[00:24:24] I'm just building it the way that that I you know You did? Yeah. Fun fact, I am let me solar. Oh my god. Oh, I need your help then. Yeah. Yeah. I got you. I'm playing Elden Ring with the seamless co-op mod. Yeah. So you know, buddy and buddy and me are playing through it.

[00:25:42] I think it's makes it more fun that way.

[00:25:44] I think it also gives the bosses a lot more health.

[00:25:45] Seems like, you know, it's when you have two.

I have a few harps with it with about a few minor things, but for the most part, I'm really enjoying it. I'd probably say I'm probably close to halfway through the game. I just like how whenever you take down a main boss, you gain their abilities.

[00:28:23] And just the amount of spells that you have access to

[00:28:27] as you progress through the game, I was just joking. We're just. All right. I see you have the Fortnite on the list. I think I like a crossover with the car soccer or is that over now? I don't know. I just know whatever my daughter tells me is going on. Yeah, I don't.

[00:42:47] his absence. I told him that he was lucky since I'm a home body and that he never has to worry about my safety nor a third party while I just sit back at home and make sure

[00:42:59] That he never gets to feel the anxiety. I feel every time he comes home late overwhelmed with

[00:43:03] emotions. I just told him that he makes me feel alone that he makes me feel like I'm a

[01:09:34] So the game's not good. I mean it has some bugs currently

[01:09:37] But let's talk about like what the kind of gameplay actually is so

[01:09:45] You guys are fans of rogue likes rogue lights, right? Any buy-in of Isaac that type of stuff. I don't like biting of Isaac

[01:11:00] We all my I love finding the Isaac my my rogue shit that gets unlocked for you and that but seeing you get some long is worse or like it's like curse related and makes it actually it hurts you there's eyes are okay my thing with rogue games is always is there a shortcut at some point that gets unlocked so that I don't have to play through the first like because that was the cool thing is wonky because with spelunky you know if you get

[01:11:03] those those unlocks so that you can you can skip biomes and go to like the next one

[01:12:22] Pretty quickly like you unlock like a thing like you still got to go through the first biome

[01:13:22] skip one level in the game. Is that what you want to hear? Whatever makes me sound smart.

[01:13:24] It is level three. Oh, it's enough. You can go from the canyon to the quarry to

[01:13:29] the aqua station. Actually, it's not even a skip level.

[01:13:42] I'm not as opposed to it being like a we have to do this one run, like do it

[01:13:47] like a all right, this is the run. not the same as the second part of inscription or the third part of inscription. There's a, there's just a little bit of a switch-er-roo there. I don't know if I want to believe that or not. I'll, I'll use my discretion. I'm trying to be as vague as possible, but yeah, like the cool thing is once you get to that first

[01:15:01] change, you don't have to do the first part again. It's you start from the second part.

[01:16:04] And I feel like that is such a weird difficulty curve because it's like, Oh, I'll just grab so hard you want to make it past level two in the beginning. And they're like, Oh, here's

[01:16:08] the thing. You're just more likely to get better guns now, or you're just more, you're

[01:16:12] even your healing robot gives you more health, or you get more opportunity to spend the little

[01:16:18] power cells. You get more power cells each run as a resource so you can buy better guns.

[01:16:23] So you just get the game. You don't even have to play anymore. One thing.

[01:17:40] One level starts.

[01:17:42] I don't think it was part of the DLC.

[01:17:43] There's one character that's like can't die.

[01:17:46] They're invincible, which kind of ruined it.

[01:18:42] No, no, you're just that bad. Oh, I was strong.

[01:18:43] Well, I mean, not to the second phase of the final boss.

[01:18:46] And that's the part that I've ever made it.

[01:18:48] And you can do things which like in what's the Zelda tiers of the field, the wild,

[01:18:53] Breath of the Wild, that one, like whenever you go and collect all the magic animals,

[01:18:59] they weaken Ganon by taking away some of his health bar and some of the phantom Ganons.

[01:19:05] I don't know what they're called.

[01:19:06] Like, it takes away that stuff. You can go to other alternate branching paths. This game has a lot of branching paths, which is kind of annoying, but other games have done this like buying a vise. I like in buying a visor. You can go to multiple places depending on how you play the game. You can go to hell and fight Satan. You can go to the attic and fight your mom. You can go to heaven and fight God.

[01:20:25] I mean, Chucky, how you play the game, like you didn't have like different ways you go.

[01:21:47] This is the wildest thing too, because I put like 150 something hours in that game credits out so yeah I don't know it's a weird thing like there's certain games like near and uh Dragon Quest that it's kind of like you kind of need to keep going with this to I've signalled it to you Yeah yeah yeah yeah I've signalled it really well really well

[01:23:04] Yeah I've signalled this crazy dude My favorite of this group was probably the recon one because he was the only one with a reliable melee. I don't know if you guys probably just played with the Guardian a lot, right? Well, that's the thing too. I found the name when we were playing the melee was just absurd. I was like, there's no way I'm doing melee.

[01:24:21] I feel like I need to be using a rifle at all times in order to do anything in this game.

[01:24:25] Yeah. Like how many first person shooters do you play? Yeah, I mean, a lot of Call of Duty. Um, I liked gunfire or born as well, which is, I thought was really similar to this one. Um, I mean, I, I, I like first person shooters. I do well in them usually. Did you notice that there is a, a slider for your aim assist and. But that's interesting that it has that because I feel like, like, we even talked about this when we were playing because you, like you said, like you hate it how people will shit on people for using like a controller over using mouse and keyboard and in first person games.

[01:29:47] No Yeah, there's a big evil AI, which is actually a giant spider that whenever you this spoilers for the game, I don't know if you guys care, but it's a giant spider and you fight it, you blow it up. The AI then retreats to the moon and you guys have to chase it to the moon and fight it there. Very intense, very near almost spiders. I know.

[01:31:02] Say it. So if you don't like spiders, it immediately. The bow sucks ass. I'm like, what do you fucking mean? It's so good. Is it? How's it good? You get so slow when you get like a four level four bow that has like a bunch of cool shit attached to it. That's like you shoot the bow. You shoot the bow and then fuck us.

[01:32:24] And then also whenever you reload it, it's like, it's so it's so fun.

[01:33:23] really bother with ever switching weapons once you picked up two weapons because I feel like once I found a good gun, I was never going to switch to whatever my sidearm is.

[01:33:42] And as long as I have a decent, never thought'm like, wow, this is even better. And that just kept happening like over and over again for like the first like hour of playing. And I still haven't found every single weapon, but a lot of them I was impressed with, with

[01:35:02] like their design and like all of them felt been done a lot. Like, it's almost like Borderlands-ish kind of look to it like the cel shading, but then I was

[01:36:20] like, the more I played it, I was like, you know what though? This has a good look.

[01:36:23] It's fine. Like, I don't think it's't overly original to my taste. Oh yeah. This game had the generic stink on it. Like is this just a unreal engine asset flip type deal? I like the fucking pew pew pew. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. That looks good. The all the effects and the bullets look real good. I loved how every weapon has

[01:37:42] like a different comic book like sound animation thing that comes up you know is like co-op. This is not pause the game or anything. Like your timer is still running. So there was definitely points where like I already knew what build I wanted so I could just grab my perks real quick. But it's like we both level up and nave just stops moving and just stands completely still. And like, oh how. Yeah, you can get around a lot of places with explosives or if you're like the recon guy, you can just teleport wherever you're looking, which is very useful. I never tried the recon class, but I fell in love with what was it, the Ranger, the javelin guy and stealth guy.
