[00:00:00] Phillip, did you see the video I sent to Jana?
[00:00:16] You sent it to me too.
[00:00:17] Yeah.
[00:00:18] Oh, no, yeah, I sent it to the group chat.
[00:00:20] Oh, yeah.
[00:00:21] Yeah.
[00:00:22] So for the listener, uh, I went to work today feeling very sad because it's Monday.
[00:00:29] These are very hard for postal workers.
[00:00:30] Morales low.
[00:00:31] I hate Mondays.
[00:00:33] I walked around the corner to get to the back door and I was greeted by two pugs like a
[00:00:39] brown one and a black one.
[00:00:41] Yeah, they were just, they were noticeably pugish.
[00:00:44] Yeah.
[00:00:45] These weren't mixed grades.
[00:00:47] These weren't, you know, disgusting, disgusting half-breed dogs.
[00:00:50] Yeah.
[00:00:51] And they, and they were when I walked around the corner, they turned around and just
[00:00:54] looked so happy to see me.
[00:00:55] And I just, I did not deserve that type of light in my life.
[00:00:59] Like I felt very unworthy of that type of love for them.
[00:01:04] Yeah, but why did you guys trap them?
[00:01:06] You put them in like a mail crate.
[00:01:08] Okay.
[00:01:09] So, fuck, I just choked on my spit.
[00:01:14] So what happened was the people that were looking for them or whatever, one of the
[00:01:21] male people posted on Facebook, they were like, Hey, these dogs are here.
[00:01:26] And so, and someone replied, they're like, Oh my God, those are my dogs.
[00:01:28] I'm coming to go get them.
[00:01:30] And so we can't get, we can't let them in the post office because there's too much
[00:01:34] moving shit.
[00:01:35] Right?
[00:01:36] Like God forbid the dogs go into the post office and like, we've fallen the mail
[00:01:40] sorter and they're never seen again.
[00:01:42] They run under, yeah, they run underneath the big met, the big machine that picks up
[00:01:47] the things that carry packages, which is what we trapped them in.
[00:01:50] So there are these things called wires.
[00:01:53] It's basically a big cage and they just picked them up and set them down into the
[00:01:57] cage and like they put a flattened box down so they could walk and lay down and
[00:02:03] stuff.
[00:02:04] And they were so sad.
[00:02:05] It made me feel like shit in the photo.
[00:02:07] Yeah.
[00:02:08] Well, I went to go check on them because I kept, I couldn't stop thinking about
[00:02:11] them.
[00:02:12] I left like maybe 40 minutes late later than I should have because I kept walking
[00:02:16] back there and playing with the dogs.
[00:02:18] I didn't like they were gone whenever I got there, but I mean, it feel like it
[00:02:21] took a while for them to come get those dogs.
[00:02:25] All right.
[00:02:26] Well, everybody loves dogs.
[00:02:28] And with that, hello and welcome to Gaming Together, a
[00:02:31] cooperative podcast.
[00:02:32] I'm your host, Philip, and I'm here with my co-partner, Naive.
[00:02:35] Each pod we play through a cooperative experience and then we're
[00:02:37] late to use the listener if this game is a criminal, a
[00:02:39] criminal of co-op or something better off playing solo.
[00:02:42] Hey, Naive.
[00:02:43] I really should have made coffee before we started.
[00:02:45] Me and Philip, we're just sitting here eating because I was like,
[00:02:48] all right, man, it feels like 5.30.
[00:02:50] We got to go.
[00:02:51] And I'm like, all right, I show up with my noodles because I just got
[00:02:54] home because it's, you know, it's starting to become that time of the year
[00:02:57] close to Black Friday and Christmas and shit where everyone's ordering
[00:03:00] seven good Jillian packages per house.
[00:03:02] I'm like, I get, all right, Philip's just going to have to wait.
[00:03:04] He shouldn't have to sit here and wait because I'm going to eat
[00:03:06] these fucking noodles or he's going to hit the play button and you guys
[00:03:09] are going to hear me slurp in the whole time.
[00:03:10] But Philip showed up with pizza and he's like, don't worry.
[00:03:13] I just showed up at home and I'm like, oh, great.
[00:03:16] Oh, don't we record at six?
[00:03:17] But I'm like, you know, we need to get this done because I always
[00:03:20] struggled up at the baby to bed after we record our three hour recording
[00:03:23] sessions, even though we only come out with, you know, less than two hours of
[00:03:27] footage somehow.
[00:03:29] But I just wanted us to get it started and get it done.
[00:03:33] Lo and behold, we still started late.
[00:03:36] But Naive, we are a video games podcast and we're going to be talking
[00:03:39] about my hero Rumble.
[00:03:41] But before we get there, let's just check in on what games we've been
[00:03:44] playing. So what have you been playing, Naive?
[00:03:47] Is that what it's called?
[00:03:48] I thought I had a longer title than that.
[00:03:50] Oh, excuse me.
[00:03:51] My hero Ultra Rumble.
[00:03:54] Oh, well, I guess that makes sense.
[00:03:57] I've just been playing Cyberpunk.
[00:04:00] That's it.
[00:04:01] Just taking my time doing going around doing all kinds of shit.
[00:04:04] It's a game again at that part at that point where it's like
[00:04:07] he just elbows like wait a day and then come call me again.
[00:04:10] And I'm like, all right, I guess I'm just going to do the main story.
[00:04:13] In the pause menu.
[00:04:14] You know, you just click wait a day.
[00:04:16] I know, but it's immersion breaking a little bit.
[00:04:19] Oh, yeah.
[00:04:19] Judy's waiting on me.
[00:04:21] I'm trying to woo her because I'm a female lesbian, of course.
[00:04:24] And I don't know.
[00:04:26] I feel like a lesbian all the.
[00:04:28] Yeah, I got like that was last last playthrough.
[00:04:31] I was the male lesbian.
[00:04:31] It's 2077 or whatever.
[00:04:33] All right, I gotcha.
[00:04:37] But it's funny to bring it up.
[00:04:38] It's good.
[00:04:38] That goes into mind because I'm also playing Cyberpunk.
[00:04:41] Specifically, I finished the big con, which was good.
[00:04:44] So right in my backlog bust and number 99, the second to last game.
[00:04:49] So my number 100, like after your challenge last week, we were like,
[00:04:53] you could probably play three good games in that time or long games or whatever.
[00:04:57] He said, I'm going to make my night.
[00:04:59] My 100th cyberpunk.
[00:05:01] And so I just met Johnny Silverhands and he's being really rude.
[00:05:07] Multiple hands.
[00:05:08] Is it is not silver?
[00:05:10] It's just one silver hand.
[00:05:12] OK, whatever.
[00:05:12] So Keala Reeves is there and then I met Mr.
[00:05:15] Japan and he's trying to get me to find.
[00:05:20] How Eda or something like that, but we don't know where she is.
[00:05:24] And so with the help of Jenny, I found out she lives in a big apartment building.
[00:05:28] And so I'm on my way there now.
[00:05:30] I don't know if those last two words names are right,
[00:05:33] but trying to sound trying to remember or Mr.
[00:05:35] Japan that I just skated right by.
[00:05:38] No, I got you.
[00:05:39] OK, it was it was the emperor's bodyguard.
[00:05:41] Yeah, Takamura, I think.
[00:05:43] Mr. Japan.
[00:05:45] And we met up in an American diner where he instantly caused a scene
[00:05:48] and I'm like, what are you doing?
[00:05:50] My dude. Yeah.
[00:05:52] He's like by the name of the emperor,
[00:05:54] he just gets real pissed at that random diner guy.
[00:05:56] Yeah, I love him so much.
[00:05:59] Well, he's the only one in a, you know, Corpo suit too.
[00:06:02] It's like you're blowing my cover, dude.
[00:06:05] Did you did you get this from the library or do you have?
[00:06:08] I got it from the library.
[00:06:09] I think you should get the DLC.
[00:06:11] I know it's like 30 bucks, but it is really fucking good.
[00:06:15] And like the way the DLC is in the middle of the game.
[00:06:18] So you're not even to the point where it'll get introduced to you yet.
[00:06:21] Oh, yeah.
[00:06:22] So I'm just I'm just a little worried that they took like the training wheels off.
[00:06:26] They're like, they just gave me the open world after.
[00:06:29] Jack died, I think.
[00:06:33] Is this an I don't know his name.
[00:06:34] I like I know his name and that's fine
[00:06:36] because now no one's going to know what the spoiler you're talking about.
[00:06:39] So it's like really a spoiler because like they said, like as the best guy,
[00:06:45] you know, like this guy is the coolest dude you've ever met.
[00:06:47] And I'm like, he's a cool suit I've ever met.
[00:06:49] Yeah, which is why Dell should never find the Dell situation.
[00:06:54] Well, now I'm not talking about what game I just spoiled.
[00:06:57] So now there's two spoilers that are just lingering with question marks.
[00:07:01] So no one can get mad.
[00:07:02] So I'm playing cyberpunk.
[00:07:03] It's good so far, but it's like I have to tell myself to sit down and play it
[00:07:08] because I'm scared I'm going to finish other games if I pick them up.
[00:07:12] So I'm almost like exclusively playing cyberpunk, except every night before bed.
[00:07:16] I play a little bit of tactics, ogre reborn, which is it's a really charming game.
[00:07:21] Like I thought it was just going to be like medieval warfare type stuff.
[00:07:27] But then there's like Dracula's and demons that come up to
[00:07:30] and I'm like, oh, ogre's in the title.
[00:07:32] Of course, there's going to be monsters.
[00:07:33] But I didn't even think about it at the time.
[00:07:36] Yeah, I didn't think about it.
[00:07:37] I just thought it was a cool name.
[00:07:39] I thought it was going to be like just knights and wizards and stuff.
[00:07:43] But there's actual demons that you fight and undead and you can cast
[00:07:46] like healing magic on it and does damage instead of healing.
[00:07:49] Is that type of Dungeons and Dragons bullshit?
[00:07:53] I think that's a fantasy too.
[00:07:55] Is it? Yeah.
[00:07:56] I mean, like I know the old ones for sure.
[00:07:59] You can throw like five minutes to seven.
[00:08:00] You could throw a revive at a zombie and it'll die.
[00:08:03] Well, Final Fantasy VII also the crap where like you could put reflect on somebody
[00:08:07] and then if you cast heal on him, it bounces off and heals the enemy too.
[00:08:10] There's some crap like that.
[00:08:12] Yeah.
[00:08:13] Well, yeah.
[00:08:14] And what are you doing in cyberpunk?
[00:08:16] What kind of character are you making?
[00:08:17] So I got rid of my corporate gorilla that I had last time
[00:08:21] since the game is all new, all new edginess.
[00:08:25] And I took your advice and I'm like, I'll do the cyber stuff.
[00:08:29] The I want to do smart guns.
[00:08:31] And what are the magic spells?
[00:08:34] The quick hacks, whatever hacks.
[00:08:36] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:08:37] Like so I'm just going like full cyber wizard,
[00:08:40] lizard wizard type stuff.
[00:08:42] But I haven't got the implant to use a smart gun yet.
[00:08:45] So I'm using my smart guns unsmartly.
[00:08:49] Oh, yeah.
[00:08:50] Well, I have the I have the implant for the smart guns and
[00:08:53] but this I only got a shotgun
[00:08:56] because I'm only doing the if I see a green arrow, I'm like, OK,
[00:08:59] I'm switching weapons now, whatever whatever this is.
[00:09:02] I'm going to switch it for the lowest one.
[00:09:03] But like I had a smart shotgun and it did way less damage.
[00:09:07] It just auto aimed.
[00:09:08] And I'm like, I can aim.
[00:09:10] I want more damage.
[00:09:11] I want like an auto aim, not like shotgun doesn't sound right
[00:09:13] because I want like a rapid fire gun.
[00:09:15] I want a needler situation.
[00:09:17] Oh, dude, there is a guy.
[00:09:18] There was a guy who a boss that had a unique
[00:09:21] smart SMG in the DLC.
[00:09:25] And it was like shooting me from around a corner.
[00:09:27] I was like, what the fuck has happened?
[00:09:29] Like I was like, I don't want to get shot right now.
[00:09:32] I mean, it doesn't sound really fun when the enemies have it.
[00:09:34] But when I like, I haven't used a smart gun yet.
[00:09:37] But when I do, it's going to be great.
[00:09:39] I hope I hope it's not lame.
[00:09:41] Like if you build into illusion magic in oblivion or something like that.
[00:09:45] Yeah. Like, oh, man, I can turn 74 percent invisible.
[00:09:49] Great for four seconds and I can't walk with it.
[00:09:52] Otherwise they're going to get revealed or whatever.
[00:09:53] So like, dude, there's so much cool shit
[00:09:56] that I'm seeing people do in cyberpunk.
[00:09:57] Like there's this like, I already talked about the the Katanas can deflect bullets
[00:10:00] now with if you get the perk.
[00:10:02] But there is another thing like you get like this.
[00:10:04] You can get this red hot
[00:10:06] Garot wire out of your hand and then you fling it around.
[00:10:10] I don't know if you know who Takeda is from Mortal Kombat 11.
[00:10:13] But you like fling it around and like it's like just a
[00:10:16] you ever watched the movie Ghost Ship?
[00:10:20] Ghost ship.
[00:10:21] Ghost ship.
[00:10:22] The ship that is like ghost.
[00:10:24] OK, well anyway.
[00:10:26] Everyone is expected.
[00:10:28] I don't know what it's about.
[00:10:29] The Caribbean where it's like it's a spooky skeleton ship.
[00:10:32] So there is like a Titanic like ship and on that ship, the
[00:10:38] like a wire snapped and everyone was on the deck on the poop deck
[00:10:43] doing us doing a dance or whatever.
[00:10:46] And it cut them all in half.
[00:10:48] So it's like a saw situation.
[00:10:50] I got you.
[00:10:51] Yeah. Well, I was thinking final destination,
[00:10:53] but like I don't know what I'm getting at this.
[00:10:55] There's a wire you can cut people in half with and in cyberpunk
[00:10:58] is what I'm trying to say.
[00:10:59] It looks really cool, but I don't get it.
[00:11:02] Vibes for Tokyo Ghost Wire, not the wire thing, but that
[00:11:07] you in it's instead of Johnny Silver hands.
[00:11:10] You have KK slider in your head.
[00:11:12] Yeah, KK slider.
[00:11:13] And you're like, well, well, well, well, well.
[00:11:15] Well, he talks to you and like, OK, OK, you're so funny.
[00:11:18] You walk into a new area and he starts playing guitar.
[00:11:21] I wish.
[00:11:23] But that's what we're getting on.
[00:11:25] Tactics over good, cyberpunk good, big con good, not game of the year,
[00:11:29] anything crazy like that, but a really nice indie game.
[00:11:33] So that goes right into Dave, what did you buy?
[00:11:35] Oh, that's a good question.
[00:11:36] My Xbox is even on.
[00:11:37] That's how not.
[00:11:40] Home, I've been before the recording.
[00:11:42] I don't think I bought anything, though.
[00:11:44] That goes right into our Patreon section,
[00:11:46] which we've gained a new patron.
[00:11:49] Return of Hopple.
[00:11:51] Hello, Hopple.
[00:11:52] Welcome back. It's good to see you.
[00:11:54] You don't have it in the you don't have it in the normally he has
[00:11:57] a screenshot of the patrons in the in the notes, but so I can't see it.
[00:12:01] But I believe we got Hopple, Michael,
[00:12:03] Superbacker, the Intergalactic Bind cone, Nick and Knight and insane cracker.
[00:12:06] Thanks, boys.
[00:12:07] You keep the lights on.
[00:12:09] Now, I did kind of go a little faster all my bullshit
[00:12:12] and they've actually never had a bullshit this week
[00:12:14] because I really want to do a double am I the asshole this week
[00:12:18] for my hero academia?
[00:12:21] Because you didn't you didn't tell me that.
[00:12:23] I just know I didn't. That was serendipitous.
[00:12:26] So I looked up specifically
[00:12:30] my hero academia, seeing if I could find anything about it on Reddit.
[00:12:33] There's the first one, even the Zincaster and
[00:12:37] I could not find anything.
[00:12:38] What is this? Why?
[00:12:40] What is there? OK, so he's got a little chart in here.
[00:12:44] The link and then it's got a description of the thing.
[00:12:46] And then it's got the this third one,
[00:12:49] I assume is what franchise it's like
[00:12:53] mainly talking about or what's related to.
[00:12:55] But the last what is this last file here?
[00:12:58] The last answer in both of them.
[00:13:00] Yeah, so dear listeners at home now,
[00:13:01] Naeva is pulling back my skirt.
[00:13:04] My notes have a like trigger warning box,
[00:13:07] just in case we have like guests or something like that.
[00:13:09] And like, oh, they don't want to talk about something.
[00:13:11] And oddly enough, of the three posts I found on my hero academia,
[00:13:15] two of them involve cancer.
[00:13:18] So warning ahead if you have any sensitivity towards cancer.
[00:13:21] But it's just weird that it happened twice.
[00:13:24] And the third one was just about a college student
[00:13:27] that wouldn't stop pretending she was a character from my hero academia.
[00:13:31] And she would start freaking out and screaming
[00:13:33] if anybody tried to stop her or inform her that she was not.
[00:13:37] And I didn't want to maybe that was about like, no, you know what I mean?
[00:13:41] Like superpower was if she's being stopped, she screams.
[00:13:45] Yeah.
[00:13:46] And she talks about she was dating one of the other main characters
[00:13:49] and it was not a pretty read.
[00:13:51] So I'm so good at all from that one.
[00:13:53] It is quirky.
[00:13:54] So this first one, though.
[00:13:56] Well, which one is it?
[00:13:58] Yeah, wait, that's the right one.
[00:13:59] I closed it for some reason.
[00:14:01] I opened it and then I closed it.
[00:14:05] If for the brief description I put in OPs girlfriend
[00:14:08] does a chesty MHA cosplay and he's embarrassed.
[00:14:12] Let's learn some more, Naeva.
[00:14:13] Wait, is this the one you sent me?
[00:14:15] I think so.
[00:14:16] Is this a burner account?
[00:14:18] It is in fact a burner account and he only did one reply.
[00:14:21] I'll let you handle reading this one.
[00:14:24] OK, this is a traction, by the way, 20,000 of votes.
[00:14:29] Twenty point zero thousand were right on the dot.
[00:14:34] OK, so my 25 male girlfriend, 24 female, I assume, had a double.
[00:14:42] What is that word?
[00:14:43] Mastectomy.
[00:14:44] Mastectomy five years ago.
[00:14:48] What is that?
[00:14:49] That's where the her boobs were cut off because she had breast cancer.
[00:14:53] You have to cut boobs off for your breast cancer.
[00:14:55] Yeah.
[00:14:57] All the time, not all the time, but a lot of the time
[00:15:01] if it develops too far for treatment, they have to do that.
[00:15:06] And oh, she has.
[00:15:08] Oh, is he going to explain it?
[00:15:09] She had breast cancer and thankfully made a full recovery
[00:15:12] unlike a lot of women.
[00:15:13] She didn't have any reconstructive surgery.
[00:15:16] This was before I met her.
[00:15:18] I'm a big anime nerd.
[00:15:19] And last week and I invited her to a small anime con with me.
[00:15:22] She's seen a few episodes of my favorite shows, but she's not into anime.
[00:15:25] She does like cosplay, though, and she works seasonally as this special
[00:15:29] effects artist at a haunted house near us.
[00:15:33] So when I asked her to go to the con with me, she asked if she could cosplay.
[00:15:36] And I said, sure, she got very excited and said, I was going to love her costume.
[00:15:40] So I'll admit, I thought she was going to do something sexy for me.
[00:15:44] Well, not exactly.
[00:15:46] The day of the convention comes and she showed up at my house
[00:15:48] cosplaying Dobby from My Hero Academia, specifically a look he has later in the manga.
[00:15:53] Dobby's a dude.
[00:15:56] So it's a long white coat over white pants, no shirt.
[00:15:59] Her entire chest was exposed and she'd obviously spent hours applying burn makeup.
[00:16:04] She said she has short hair that she dies constantly.
[00:16:08] This time she bleached it white and dyed a few red streaks.
[00:16:12] So she's topless.
[00:16:13] Yes, that's what it sounds like.
[00:16:14] Or she has a very revealing top.
[00:16:17] Yeah, I know what he's talking about.
[00:16:18] Like you would be able to see her.
[00:16:20] You'd ever you'd be able to see her her chest.
[00:16:23] Well, she doesn't have nipples costume she's talking about or anything.
[00:16:27] Oh, what?
[00:16:28] Yeah, like they take the whole breast like she doesn't have nipples
[00:16:31] or and she never got reconstructive surgery.
[00:16:34] So she is just flat, flatter than a man.
[00:16:37] Like a Kendall.
[00:16:39] Where was I?
[00:16:39] I was I wasn't expecting her to show up without a shirt.
[00:16:42] Her burn scar makeup only covered half her chest.
[00:16:45] So you could clearly see her mastectomy scar.
[00:16:48] It wasn't a very attractive costume, especially since she'd gone all out
[00:16:52] with the scars and made them look raised in kind of realistic.
[00:16:56] We went to the con and while a lot of people came up to take photos with her,
[00:16:59] I noticed several others looking at her chest that evening.
[00:17:02] She said I'd been quiet all day.
[00:17:04] And I honestly told her I was a little embarrassed that she was flaunting
[00:17:07] her mastectomy scar like that.
[00:17:08] She got mad and said she was making the best of her situation
[00:17:12] and said I was being insensitive and she's been distant ever since.
[00:17:16] I'm starting to feel guilty.
[00:17:18] Am I the asshole?
[00:17:19] There's probably a reason why you're starting to feel guilty, dog.
[00:17:22] Yeah, this looks real bad.
[00:17:24] Like, I don't think there's a way like, all right, let's let's double
[00:17:28] savageth this here.
[00:17:29] So to some of the situation,
[00:17:32] girlfriends cancer survivor, she wears a
[00:17:37] basically revealing outfit out in public that shows off
[00:17:42] that she had surgery to have her breasts removed.
[00:17:45] And the OP is.
[00:17:49] Uncomfortable, embarrassed, uncomfortable.
[00:17:50] Yeah, they cross some lines for him.
[00:17:54] Now it gets in a weird spot
[00:17:57] whenever you start talking about your comfort out of other people's actions.
[00:18:01] Like we.
[00:18:03] Like, of course, you're only responsible for your own comfort
[00:18:05] and you shouldn't.
[00:18:07] I don't know, like change yourself that much for others.
[00:18:10] But then also it's like you can be an asshole if you don't change enough.
[00:18:13] Like I definitely feel that she should be able to do this without judgment.
[00:18:18] Right? Am I am I too far to say that?
[00:18:22] It's confusing because like it's like
[00:18:25] normally you wouldn't be able to walk around without a shirt on
[00:18:27] in a place like this.
[00:18:30] Right. So I it's very confusing.
[00:18:33] It's like doing a weird thing to my brain where my brain is telling me like
[00:18:37] how does she not get in trouble?
[00:18:38] Well, no, I bet there's people wearing like super form fitting bodysuits
[00:18:42] or like borderline just like pain and stuff, you know.
[00:18:45] Well, I don't think I don't think if you're a woman,
[00:18:47] you're allowed to have your shirt off even with body paint on.
[00:18:49] I think you can hold you can wear skin tight like spandex or whatever.
[00:18:53] But it's different.
[00:18:54] But it's like that's the thing.
[00:18:55] It's like, are you showing nipple and she's not
[00:18:57] because she has the scars and she doesn't have them as according.
[00:19:00] Does it say that in the whole thing?
[00:19:02] I assume she does it because she got to do with it, right?
[00:19:04] When you have a double mastectomy, I assume they take everything.
[00:19:08] Yeah. See, I don't I don't know what this is.
[00:19:10] So I'm like kind of wandering around in the dark here mentally.
[00:19:13] But it's it's an interesting situation
[00:19:17] because she also cosplayed as a guy.
[00:19:20] It makes me wonder if like maybe people just assumed
[00:19:23] she was a guy because she didn't have a chest
[00:19:26] and she was cosplaying a male character, you know, because this is an incredibly
[00:19:29] popular anime and Dobby is an incredibly popular character
[00:19:33] in the incredibly popular anime. You know what I mean?
[00:19:35] Yeah. So it's interesting.
[00:19:39] It is. It's a big conundrum because
[00:19:43] he is her partner and so she should take his feelings
[00:19:46] in regards on this.
[00:19:48] And I feel like maybe she was a bit of an asshole by
[00:19:53] springing this on him in that he didn't have time to repair.
[00:19:57] Like she said that she had some big plan, but no details.
[00:20:01] And and not wearing a shirt is definitely something that is
[00:20:06] unexpected, especially for a special case like this.
[00:20:09] You know what I mean?
[00:20:10] And it puts you in a weird spot because like you're good.
[00:20:13] If you feel uncomfortable, it also conflicts with the idea
[00:20:17] that she's a breast cancer survivor.
[00:20:19] And this is and she like she said in the thing
[00:20:21] that she's trying to make the best of her situation.
[00:20:23] And I think that that's really admirable of her, like to not
[00:20:26] like the things that have happened to her.
[00:20:29] No, she's going out loud and proud.
[00:20:31] And I got to give her a poster that like that's incredible.
[00:20:34] This is like a great cancer survivor story.
[00:20:37] And she's like using, you know, her her little scars
[00:20:41] as dressing for something she loves to do.
[00:20:44] Yeah, it's like me.
[00:20:45] I have these things called keloids on my shoulders and chest
[00:20:48] and they're all they all of them are from where burns used to be,
[00:20:52] like whether it be like road rash from like falling off a bike
[00:20:55] or like getting hit by a firecracker or whatever.
[00:20:57] Firework and all of them keloid it up.
[00:21:00] And every time somebody sees them, I just kind of make them
[00:21:03] into like my clown character of like, look how fucking disgusting this is.
[00:21:08] You want to touch it?
[00:21:08] You know what I mean?
[00:21:09] Just kind of fucking really bringing attention to it
[00:21:12] because I'm actually incredibly sensitive about like, like if you're like,
[00:21:16] oh fuck, you whenever you see them, I'm going to be hurt a little bit.
[00:21:19] Even though I try not to act that way.
[00:21:21] And I don't want people to have to like tolerate my sensitivity
[00:21:25] around like this weird shit that I know this is weird.
[00:21:28] And I know that she knows that it's weird to not have her breasts anymore.
[00:21:32] But I think that it's it's really it's a really positive thing
[00:21:36] for her to be able to like do this kind of thing, put herself out there
[00:21:41] in this kind of way.
[00:21:42] And I think that that's why she's been distant because of him
[00:21:46] admitting that he was embarrassed about it.
[00:21:47] I think maybe that he didn't really handle it too well.
[00:21:51] And he could have been a little bit more empathetic to her situation,
[00:21:56] but it's not exactly his fault for being uncomfortable around
[00:22:00] like this situation.
[00:22:03] You know what I mean?
[00:22:03] I still kind of think he's an asshole, but you know, I don't know.
[00:22:08] There's always a little a little black in the white, a little
[00:22:12] white in the black type deal.
[00:22:14] So he did he did raise a follow up for a an update, I guess, or it was a reply.
[00:22:21] Apparently she chose Dobby because his scars would be a fun challenge
[00:22:26] and she chose the outfit specifically because it revealed a lot of skin
[00:22:30] giving her more room to practice her scar makeup.
[00:22:33] Oh, yeah, as a visual FX artist, this seemed to be a big canvas option for her.
[00:22:38] That's interesting.
[00:22:41] So it wasn't specifically to show off her scars,
[00:22:44] but it was to give her a chance to practice more costuming
[00:22:48] or cosplaying, I guess, since this is a character.
[00:22:52] I don't know that kind of like kind of like changes it a little bit.
[00:22:56] Yeah, because this isn't a pride thing, I don't think.
[00:22:58] But I mean, she can be proud,
[00:23:00] but it feels like there's almost no assholes here.
[00:23:04] It's just a miscommunication and hurt feelings.
[00:23:07] Yeah, well, I mean, I'm still leaning a little bit on him.
[00:23:11] But yeah, that's what the community thought as well.
[00:23:14] Everyone decided that this guy was an asshole and he doesn't deserve her.
[00:23:17] Yeah, everyone's being incredibly angry and they are tearing this guy down.
[00:23:22] And they're all getting like 26000 upvotes and stuff.
[00:23:25] Holy shit. Yeah, they are ripping this guy.
[00:23:28] Anyone? A lot of these people,
[00:23:30] a lot of these people are mad at him because he he admitted
[00:23:33] that he was expecting her to show up in something sexy.
[00:23:37] But it's like that's not even really like a wild thing to think.
[00:23:41] Like it's not like she was like, I'm going to cosplay by by now.
[00:23:44] It's I'm going to cosplay and it's going to be fucking big.
[00:23:48] You're going to see it.
[00:23:49] You know what I mean? What did she say exactly?
[00:23:51] Or what did they say? She said she said cosplay.
[00:23:53] She's got very excited.
[00:23:54] Said I was going to love her costume.
[00:23:55] If a girl was coming up to me and said, I'm going to cosplay for you
[00:23:59] and you're going to love my costume.
[00:24:00] I'm going to be like, huh? Oh, yeah. Am I?
[00:24:04] You're going to be sailor.
[00:24:06] You know what I mean? Like what's going to happen?
[00:24:08] But like it's a little different because since she's an artist,
[00:24:10] you know what I mean?
[00:24:11] Like a visual effects or whatever you said.
[00:24:13] Yeah. It's like, I don't know.
[00:24:14] There's a lot of weird little nuances to this,
[00:24:16] but everyone is obliterating this guy.
[00:24:19] Dude, he did not stand a chance on anything.
[00:24:21] He's got 5,000 comments of telling him how much of an asshole.
[00:24:24] Durbaggy is.
[00:24:26] I think the big another big thing is that, you know, it's like
[00:24:29] it's it's a it's the same reason why I said no matter what.
[00:24:32] I feel like I got to lean on the dude.
[00:24:34] Like it's because of the it's the cancer surgery, right?
[00:24:37] It's not like it's not like what is it called?
[00:24:40] Surgery or something.
[00:24:42] Well, I was thinking of a.
[00:24:45] What is it? Cosmetic surgery.
[00:24:46] It wasn't for cosmetic purposes.
[00:24:48] She didn't get a breast reduction surgery because she wanted it.
[00:24:50] She lost it from because she was fighting cancer. Right.
[00:24:54] It's like that is it's really as soon as you bring that to the equation,
[00:24:58] it is really hard to not like
[00:25:01] and that's something that like maybe we should be able
[00:25:04] to talk about, you know what I mean?
[00:25:05] Like I don't know how much I've talked about my aunt
[00:25:07] that I took care of for about about two years.
[00:25:09] My aunt got
[00:25:11] where she had diabetes and then she had to go through
[00:25:17] what is it called?
[00:25:18] Where they filter your kidneys, you know what I mean?
[00:25:21] Dialysis.
[00:25:22] She had to go through dialysis and every day I had to bring her to dialysis
[00:25:27] and at first I was really happy that I was able to be there for
[00:25:29] and do all that stuff for her.
[00:25:31] But doing that, like I had to take her
[00:25:33] to dialysis in the morning.
[00:25:34] I had to take my uncle who lived, who worked 30 minutes away from the house
[00:25:39] to work every morning.
[00:25:40] And then I also had to go to work in the morning
[00:25:42] and then I had to pick my uncle up and pick my aunt up.
[00:25:45] I had to do all of that every single day.
[00:25:47] And it after two years of that,
[00:25:51] that is it.
[00:25:52] That's an incredible ask.
[00:25:53] You know what I'm saying?
[00:25:54] And at first you think, you know, you're happy to do something like that.
[00:25:57] But after a while and it sucks to admit,
[00:26:01] but like I was becoming pretty resentful of the situation that I had found myself in
[00:26:05] and the fact that I was dating somebody who was getting dragged down with me
[00:26:10] in this like really hard thing to get out of because like it is you.
[00:26:14] It is an incredible responsibility to a family member.
[00:26:17] You know what I mean?
[00:26:17] And it feels bad to feel that way.
[00:26:20] But I have a point to all of this.
[00:26:22] I swear to God, listener.
[00:26:23] So like it feels bad to feel that way.
[00:26:26] But after a while, especially as time passes after she passed away
[00:26:30] and I moved in all kinds of stuff happened, like I get to reflect back on that
[00:26:34] and realize that it's not exactly a horrible thing for me to feel bad about my situation.
[00:26:39] When I was in a really stressful and difficult situation
[00:26:43] and I was beating myself up during that during those times because I felt that way.
[00:26:48] Like I felt like a horrible, terrible person, even though I felt that way.
[00:26:52] And it was still stepping up to do the fucking difficult thing.
[00:26:56] Right.
[00:26:56] And it's not apples to oranges here or whatever the saying is.
[00:27:02] But like even though she went through something horrible in her past,
[00:27:07] you can still have it's still valid to feel uncomfortable about specific things
[00:27:13] that are things that you're not used to.
[00:27:16] Like you're not used to walking around out in public with her
[00:27:19] with a person who had a double mastectomy or whatever it's called
[00:27:24] that is walking around without a shirt on and you just have no idea.
[00:27:27] Like this has never been a thing that's ever occurred to you in your head.
[00:27:31] And you're trying to rationalize it and stuff like that.
[00:27:33] Like you're not a horrible, terrible person.
[00:27:36] Like all of these people in the comments are making him seem like.
[00:27:38] But you should reflect on this.
[00:27:41] Like you do need people to tell you, hey, man,
[00:27:43] it's kind of not cool what you did right at the end of there, where you
[00:27:46] told her you were embarrassed about her scars.
[00:27:48] Like that's kind of fucked up.
[00:27:50] Yeah, that was bad.
[00:27:52] Yeah, I agree with you.
[00:27:53] He's he's got more of the asshole on him.
[00:27:55] But I don't think it's pretty light, light asshole.
[00:27:58] Yeah, I would wish I wish the follow up had something to do with
[00:28:01] after the aftermath of this.
[00:28:04] Yeah, that was a true ending.
[00:28:06] Yeah, because if he if he doubled down on like being
[00:28:10] being weirded out, then maybe they maybe he really doesn't deserve her.
[00:28:13] Maybe they really should just kind of break up if this is going
[00:28:16] to be something that's going to linger over their relationship always, you know?
[00:28:20] Yeah, I feel like you maybe he grew from this, though.
[00:28:23] Maybe they they grew together as a couple.
[00:28:25] Yeah, I mean, this is exactly how you grow by doing something
[00:28:30] and then everyone telling you you fucked up.
[00:28:32] This is a preferable way to grow rather than, you know,
[00:28:35] you make a horrible mistake and then get hurt because of it.
[00:28:38] Right?
[00:28:39] Because really the only ways we grow is people.
[00:28:42] You know, I really expected us because I I I breeze through that one.
[00:28:46] I read it.
[00:28:48] I expected us to much more dunk on this guy.
[00:28:50] But after looking at this, like this is probably the third or fourth time
[00:28:54] I've read that one and hearing you reach me, I do.
[00:28:58] I feel like I've calmed down because at first I was like, burn the witch.
[00:29:02] This guy's an asshole.
[00:29:04] Yeah, well, I mean, for sure.
[00:29:05] I mean, it is super easy to have like a split reaction,
[00:29:08] like a like an immediate reaction of like discussed at the way
[00:29:12] that this guy was talking about it.
[00:29:13] But it's like he didn't write it well either.
[00:29:15] And he did not cut himself any corners on this.
[00:29:19] Yeah, you could have.
[00:29:21] Yeah, he could have read it better.
[00:29:22] All right, this next one.
[00:29:24] Let me do a quick burner account check.
[00:29:26] Boop, boop, boop.
[00:29:27] All right, this guy is a main account, I guess.
[00:29:33] No, I don't know.
[00:29:33] What am I looking at?
[00:29:35] Do you see that post?
[00:29:36] What am I looking at, brother?
[00:29:37] Whoa.
[00:29:39] All right, this dude just posted asshole.
[00:29:42] What?
[00:29:43] It's a burner account where he did to he did an am I the asshole?
[00:29:46] And then you just posted it there.
[00:29:47] He did it.
[00:29:48] That's all the post a picture of his asshole.
[00:29:51] OK, oh my god.
[00:29:52] Am I burner account?
[00:29:54] This one did not get a lot of traction.
[00:29:56] Only 36 votes.
[00:29:58] From two months ago.
[00:29:59] Eventually.
[00:30:00] Yeah, this is Lucid Divine.
[00:30:02] Am I the asshole for using my 22 survivorship
[00:30:06] to get to meet a voice actor?
[00:30:08] Hello, everyone.
[00:30:09] On December 10th, 2021, I was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma.
[00:30:14] It was a long battle and I almost died after the fourth round of chemo
[00:30:18] due to my body not taking any foods or liquids.
[00:30:20] Thanks to a feeding to you, to in two months day in hospital
[00:30:24] in a two month hospital stay, I survived several months later.
[00:30:28] Thanks to a mutation in my tumor, I was able to start a pill
[00:30:31] that would shrink the tumors and eventually that was what made me cancer free.
[00:30:36] I've been free for a few months now.
[00:30:37] So there's only been a few months.
[00:30:39] Since he's been near dead.
[00:30:41] Oh, yeah.
[00:30:42] And this was two months ago.
[00:30:43] Yeah.
[00:30:44] And I'm almost the same person I was before physically.
[00:30:48] The one thing that kept me going was the character
[00:30:51] all might from my hero academia.
[00:30:54] No matter what battle he was going through, no matter what challenge you face,
[00:30:58] he would always have a smile on his face
[00:31:01] that inspired me to keep going.
[00:31:02] Every hospital visit I'd always come in smiling even on my deathbed.
[00:31:06] I made sure to keep my smile present.
[00:31:10] I damn, Philip.
[00:31:12] Is this what?
[00:31:14] What are you doing?
[00:31:14] Man, why did you pick these two?
[00:31:16] These are fucking difficult, man.
[00:31:20] What are you going to ask?
[00:31:21] Yes, this is all my thing.
[00:31:23] Oh, is that all my thing?
[00:31:24] All right. Yeah.
[00:31:25] In fact, as soon as you as soon as you said all my I had a feeling
[00:31:29] he was going to start talking about the smile and I was like, oh no.
[00:31:33] This is a big deal.
[00:31:34] Is that like it's a big deal?
[00:31:36] It's the read so might smile as Vegeta's pride.
[00:31:39] Well, it's more like, OK, so all my is the basically the sensei of
[00:31:46] the main character, Deku, who is the Goku, the Naruto.
[00:31:50] He's the main he's the main boy.
[00:31:51] Gotcha. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:31:52] And again, it is it is all my smile that keeps Deku
[00:31:57] pursuing his dream of being a hero.
[00:32:00] It was that smile that Tana smile.
[00:32:02] I won't spoil anything.
[00:32:03] I think people should watch my hero, even though it's a popular anime.
[00:32:05] It's it's popular for reasons really good.
[00:32:07] But yeah, that's what all this is about.
[00:32:10] Back into it.
[00:32:11] So yesterday, I went to an anime convention.
[00:32:14] There was a lady walking around without a shirt on and I stared for a long time.
[00:32:19] No. Holy shit, it's the fucking MCU.
[00:32:24] My dad has the same convention.
[00:32:25] All right, let's get serious.
[00:32:26] So yesterday, I went to an anime convention.
[00:32:28] I had no intentions of getting an autograph or meeting any celebrity.
[00:32:32] But my friend told me I should go up to Chris, all my voice
[00:32:35] and tell him my story.
[00:32:37] So around five, I went and asked where the line ended.
[00:32:40] The volunteer told me the line was already capped.
[00:32:43] I told him my story and the reason I wanted to meet him.
[00:32:46] He told me to tell his higher up.
[00:32:47] So I did.
[00:32:48] And then I had to tell his higher up
[00:32:50] until the final person told me we'll see.
[00:32:53] I stayed in line just in case and I can I can meet him.
[00:32:57] It was now five fifty, fifty minutes later from whenever the line started,
[00:33:00] or whenever you first got there
[00:33:01] in case you weren't keeping up to your listener.
[00:33:03] And I knew at six, he had to go do in a Q&A panel.
[00:33:07] Oh, no. So there's less than 10 minutes.
[00:33:09] So my hopes were low to meet him.
[00:33:12] But I would have been OK with that.
[00:33:14] The second volunteer I spoke to came to get me out of the line
[00:33:18] and told me I was going to be next in line.
[00:33:20] I was put in front of about six people from where I was.
[00:33:23] Meeting him was amazing.
[00:33:25] I wrote what I wanted to say on my phone because I knew I'd cry
[00:33:28] if I said it out loud.
[00:33:29] He was proud of me for beating cancer.
[00:33:31] He was super sweet.
[00:33:32] And just when I was about to leave,
[00:33:34] you're limited to a three minute conversation.
[00:33:36] He told me to wait and he signed me two autographs
[00:33:39] and recorded a video for me.
[00:33:41] I wasn't expecting any of that.
[00:33:42] You know, I'm going to cry.
[00:33:44] It made me cry even harder.
[00:33:46] Overall, an amazing experience.
[00:33:48] I'm so thankful I got to do that.
[00:33:50] And he continued signing things after I left.
[00:33:53] Holy shit.
[00:33:54] Why did you do this, man?
[00:33:56] Why are you doing this, man?
[00:33:58] This is a funny.
[00:33:59] I was crying whenever I read this the first time.
[00:34:02] No, it isn't funny, but it's an incredible story.
[00:34:07] But every story has a twist.
[00:34:10] Let's go today.
[00:34:11] I told my parents that story on how I got to meet him
[00:34:14] and how kind he was.
[00:34:15] This made my mom 48 years old mad.
[00:34:18] She told me it wasn't fair to the people I cut
[00:34:21] because they are waiting there too.
[00:34:22] She said I should have shouldn't have used the cancer card
[00:34:26] to get that opportunity.
[00:34:28] Roughly translated from Spanish.
[00:34:30] I started to cry because I never thought of it like that.
[00:34:33] I feel so wrong for doing it.
[00:34:34] Well, I'm still so thankful I got that experience.
[00:34:37] I feel like I should have just cut my losses.
[00:34:39] My dad and brother think there's nothing wrong with what I did
[00:34:41] and that people with VIP badges could do it.
[00:34:44] So I couldn't die.
[00:34:46] I don't know how to feel.
[00:34:47] Am I the asshole?
[00:34:50] All right, there is an edit.
[00:34:52] It's probably a change of the word.
[00:34:53] I don't know if it's relevant.
[00:34:54] Yeah, it's a change of the word.
[00:34:55] The edit is I forgot to mention that
[00:34:57] the six people all had two day passes and all got a slip,
[00:35:01] which lets them get to the front of the line today.
[00:35:04] Also, he he did keep signing after I left.
[00:35:07] So maybe he got through all of their chances as well.
[00:35:10] My mom is an angel.
[00:35:10] She's really amazing.
[00:35:12] It's been my rock since I was diagnosed.
[00:35:14] So I take what she says with a lot of weight.
[00:35:17] All right, so boil it down.
[00:35:19] This guy played the cancer card to get what he wanted.
[00:35:21] Is he an asshole for it?
[00:35:22] Absolutely.
[00:35:24] Is he really?
[00:35:25] I don't know.
[00:35:26] No, it obviously not.
[00:35:28] This guy like this if this is the person genuinely that he really
[00:35:33] that was really helping him get through, like it's silly to think
[00:35:37] like, oh, it's just a cartoon character.
[00:35:38] But I mean, like these stories are impactful for a lot of people.
[00:35:44] Like any any kind of story can be like
[00:35:49] your primary motivator for going through something, right?
[00:35:52] And at any stage in life.
[00:35:54] And we have a video games podcast and we're talking to video games
[00:35:58] enthusiasts, otherwise I don't know what you're what you're doing here,
[00:36:00] listener. But it's like all of us understand that.
[00:36:03] Like all of us have this one game that got us through something extreme.
[00:36:07] And now we can't like we get always things always relate back to our
[00:36:11] experience with that.
[00:36:12] And I don't think that it's inappropriate that he talked about
[00:36:17] his situation to the people, especially since it went through many people
[00:36:22] before he was allowed to go up there.
[00:36:24] And it's not like it doesn't seem like this person was being pushy or
[00:36:29] insistent or anything.
[00:36:30] They seem very patient and they were they seemed like it would have been
[00:36:33] OK if they didn't make it and all of that stuff.
[00:36:35] So I mean, I don't think this person is the asshole, but I can see how
[00:36:39] this story would make a parent of yours uncomfortable because not only is
[00:36:46] this not only is your child having cancer extremely uncomfortable,
[00:36:50] but like I would think that some types of parents just wouldn't want
[00:36:53] any attention attracted to it whatsoever.
[00:36:56] That might be a sore spot for them, but also at the same time with the
[00:36:59] pride and stuff of like you should do things because you should get
[00:37:03] things because you worked for them.
[00:37:06] If you if you were if your parent is.
[00:37:10] I don't know this cancer card business.
[00:37:13] If the kid content, how old is this person?
[00:37:17] 22.
[00:37:19] So the kid kind of like if this person continued to do this, like if
[00:37:23] this was like a primary motivator of like how to get things.
[00:37:26] I think that this would be a different story, but they definitely seem
[00:37:30] genuine or at least they're writing in a way that like really.
[00:37:35] Yeah, we only have you know what they wrote to go off of.
[00:37:39] But I also think that it's important, especially since he takes
[00:37:42] what his mom says seriously with the with the mom saying that you
[00:37:44] shouldn't use the cancer card to get opportunities because maybe
[00:37:49] that was it.
[00:37:50] And he said that this was something that didn't occur to him.
[00:37:52] He didn't even think that he didn't think about the people
[00:37:55] that he cut in line and everything like that.
[00:37:56] So maybe this was something that he probably should have experienced.
[00:38:00] And this would have been this is one of the best case scenarios
[00:38:02] for him to experience that kind of thing where he can now kind of
[00:38:07] like have that idea in his head before he brings this whole
[00:38:12] situation kind of thing up.
[00:38:13] You know what I mean?
[00:38:14] Even though it's not the asshole.
[00:38:15] I know I'm like, I don't know why I'm going so hard on him suddenly.
[00:38:18] But no, let me just let me give you a second.
[00:38:20] Let me get the cat.
[00:38:24] That was the cat hitting the wall.
[00:38:26] That loud noise you just heard listening.
[00:38:28] He grabbed the cat by its tail and flung it around like how Mario
[00:38:31] 64 does to Bowser and then the cat skull collided with the wall.
[00:38:36] I can't believe it.
[00:38:37] I don't know what he's saying, but it did not happen that way.
[00:38:41] All right.
[00:38:41] So this guy, I also agree.
[00:38:42] I don't think he's the asshole.
[00:38:43] In fact, I almost feel like anybody that survived some kind of event
[00:38:47] like this should get like a golden ticket to do whatever they want
[00:38:50] in some circumstances.
[00:38:52] But I don't know to go back to the right whether you said at the beginning
[00:38:55] like this all my character apparently really stood out to him
[00:38:58] to not give up and to keep pushing through all the horrible treatments
[00:39:03] and repeatedly go back to the doctor.
[00:39:05] Like I think that is incredible
[00:39:08] that someone can actually draw that much strength
[00:39:10] because then I always wonder, you know, what is the the dark timeline?
[00:39:13] What is the timeline where this guy never saw my hero my hero show?
[00:39:18] He wasn't inspired or inspired by Ben Shapiro.
[00:39:24] Like, I don't know.
[00:39:25] Like he watched something else instead
[00:39:27] and it just didn't have the same motivation as he would get from my hero.
[00:39:31] Like this guy might not be here today.
[00:39:34] If one day he decided that it wasn't worth it to go to treatments
[00:39:37] and he just decided that he was going to wait it out and just die.
[00:39:41] It's you have to make a physical decision
[00:39:44] to go through the treatments to get better.
[00:39:45] Yeah.
[00:39:46] And not everyone is, I don't know, like strong enough
[00:39:49] to always make that choice because from what I can tell, it sucks.
[00:39:52] I've never been through it.
[00:39:53] I don't have a loved one, not like you did that went through something like this.
[00:39:57] But I assume it's it sucks.
[00:39:59] And that's the problem is that that's usually what spells the end
[00:40:02] whenever they stop wanting to do it.
[00:40:05] You know what I mean?
[00:40:05] That's what I mean.
[00:40:06] That's kind of like what the the last few months of my aunt's life was like,
[00:40:12] where I was having to convince her to go and she wouldn't stay the whole time.
[00:40:17] I would only get like one hour of work and she'd call me and be like,
[00:40:20] I'm done. I can't do this.
[00:40:21] And I'm like, OK, but you know, it's like,
[00:40:25] I don't know how to argue about this.
[00:40:27] Like, I don't know how to tell you that we want you to keep doing this.
[00:40:30] If you don't want to keep doing it, I guess I'll come get you.
[00:40:33] But, you know, it's kind of it's a difficult thing and having like this
[00:40:37] really important like light for you is is really it's really lucky to find something like that.
[00:40:48] I have an antidote that's a lot less serious.
[00:40:50] So let's pull the pull.
[00:40:51] I mean, Philip, we're about to cry.
[00:40:52] Yeah. So like this is like a really heavy one.
[00:40:55] Like I teared up like every time I read this one, I read this one
[00:40:58] like multiple times.
[00:41:00] All right.
[00:41:01] So I have an antidote that's antidote.
[00:41:03] That's a lot less serious.
[00:41:04] So I went to a concert.
[00:41:07] Well, let me walk it back a couple steps.
[00:41:08] So I used to date this person named Madeleine.
[00:41:10] Long time listeners have heard her a million times.
[00:41:13] She are we have a song.
[00:41:16] A lot of couples will have they'll have a song.
[00:41:17] Our song was a Blue October song called I forget.
[00:41:24] Into the ocean.
[00:41:25] No, it's not into the ocean.
[00:41:26] It's the calling you calling you.
[00:41:29] That's it. I was going to say.
[00:41:30] Me and Jana song, too.
[00:41:33] Are you serious?
[00:41:34] Yeah, we do our wedding.
[00:41:37] That's incredible. Oh, wait, did I steal your fucking song?
[00:41:39] You were at my wedding.
[00:41:41] I was at your wedding that part.
[00:41:42] I was at your wedding.
[00:41:43] I want to tell you a song, Philip.
[00:41:44] I'm sorry. I might have heard that song.
[00:41:46] It's a bloomin.
[00:41:47] Well, it's cute.
[00:41:47] This is a cute moment.
[00:41:48] I mean, that's a it's a great song.
[00:41:50] Yeah. And then I showed her and I was like, now I'm having
[00:41:52] Philip's cute moment.
[00:41:53] And so that was our song.
[00:41:55] So now.
[00:41:57] Well, we have a revelation.
[00:41:58] You know, all good artists steal.
[00:42:00] That's the revelation.
[00:42:03] So I bought two tickets for me and Madeline to go and see
[00:42:07] Blue October because of course, because of course I did.
[00:42:10] But she got in trouble at her work and then she couldn't get off on the day
[00:42:14] that like they called they they wrote her back into the day that she
[00:42:17] rassed off and then they because she was in trouble, she couldn't get off
[00:42:21] of work and she didn't want to get in trouble anymore.
[00:42:24] I went to the show.
[00:42:25] I sold her ticket as Blue October was playing.
[00:42:28] Kind of had an idea of like, man, it's this sucks that I'm not here with her.
[00:42:33] And after they got off like in the venue, there's the stage and then right next
[00:42:39] right, the merch booths are right to the left of the stage.
[00:42:41] And then the the artists walk towards the merch booths because that's where
[00:42:46] the exit door is to get to the tour buses and stuff.
[00:42:48] And I knew that if I pushed my way through the crowd like a dickhead
[00:42:53] and got like, yeah, because everyone's trying to do this.
[00:42:57] And so like I pushed my way through the crowd and talk to them.
[00:43:01] Maybe I could get him to sign something for her.
[00:43:03] And when I got to the crowd, I got the I got the singer's attention
[00:43:09] and he kind of like looked because I'm like, you know, waving at him
[00:43:12] like leaning over the thing and he walks up to me for no reason.
[00:43:16] Just walks up to me and he's like, you know, what's going on?
[00:43:18] And I was like, hey, I explained it to him.
[00:43:20] You know, my girlfriend can't come.
[00:43:21] She's a huge fan or song is yours is your guys' song and all this stuff.
[00:43:25] And I was like, I really just want you to like if you could sign something
[00:43:28] for her, that would be amazing.
[00:43:29] And he was like, OK, what do you want me to sign?
[00:43:31] And I was like, I don't have anything to sign.
[00:43:33] Oh, no.
[00:43:35] And so I kind of looked around and I was like, oh,
[00:43:38] I honestly didn't think I was going to get your attention.
[00:43:40] I didn't think I'd get this far.
[00:43:41] And he said, hey, don't worry about it.
[00:43:42] And so he walked over to the merch booth and grabbed a CD
[00:43:45] and a marker and came back with one of his CDs and then signed it
[00:43:48] like Madeline. We're sorry we missed you.
[00:43:51] And then Mr. October.
[00:43:52] Yeah, Mr. October.
[00:43:54] And then he wrote his phone number on it and
[00:43:57] that's what she's dating now.
[00:43:58] That's why she's my ex, but.
[00:44:00] Rejoiced.
[00:44:01] So and then I was like, OK, I'll pay for it.
[00:44:04] And he's like, no, do you don't worry about it?
[00:44:05] And I was like, holy fuck, what a cool like.
[00:44:10] And I literally it was like the only reason it's anecdotal
[00:44:13] is because I like I just forced.
[00:44:15] It's like I kind of like did something that seemed forceful,
[00:44:18] but like for a completely different reason kind of thing, you know.
[00:44:21] Yeah.
[00:44:23] That's a pretty cool story.
[00:44:24] Yeah, never happened again.
[00:44:27] Yeah. And I'll never see Blue October play ever since that plane.
[00:44:31] Yeah, ever since the plane went down right on top of their of their house.
[00:44:36] They were in the plane.
[00:44:39] All right. But that's the last my am I the asshole?
[00:44:42] My hero, the asshole.
[00:44:44] Jesus Christ.
[00:44:45] I know that was heavy.
[00:44:46] Let's take a break. The music place.
[00:44:47] Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
[00:44:49] The new bathroom break or anything?
[00:44:50] No. And we're back.
[00:44:53] My hero, ultra rumble, developed by by King Inc.
[00:44:57] Who did the Jiu Jitsu, Kaizen, Curse Clash and my hero ones justice games
[00:45:04] published by Bandai Namco.
[00:45:07] Released September 28th, 2023.
[00:45:09] So it's a recent hit.
[00:45:12] Store description.
[00:45:13] Pick your favorite character team up and fight to be
[00:45:16] the last one standing in the new 24 player battle royale free to play game.
[00:45:20] My hero, ultra rumble free from the steam store.
[00:45:24] Great description.
[00:45:25] Bullshit description.
[00:45:28] Is that not what you do in the game?
[00:45:29] Pick your fucking favorite character.
[00:45:31] There's like 10 characters in this game.
[00:45:33] I know in the beginning, you can only play like three of them.
[00:45:36] You have like two heroes and a villain unlocked.
[00:45:38] Bullshit.
[00:45:39] I was talking to somebody about this and they were like, oh,
[00:45:41] did you get your froggy girl?
[00:45:43] And I was like, no, because she's locked.
[00:45:46] So I said to what people have fun with her.
[00:45:48] You have someone over there.
[00:45:51] So histories and preconceptions, I still have not seen any of my heroes.
[00:45:55] I know all the characters at this point because I've always I see them around.
[00:45:58] They're in the memes.
[00:45:59] There's the frog girl.
[00:46:00] There's Midoriya.
[00:46:03] There's all might, you know, there's.
[00:46:08] Those are the only.
[00:46:09] The only characters.
[00:46:11] The whole show actually.
[00:46:12] Yeah. So I saw this though, and I saw the art sounds the way it looked.
[00:46:16] And I'm like, this looks like Dragon Ball Breakers, which I still have not
[00:46:20] forgiven Bandai Nyanco from making Dragon Ball Breakers.
[00:46:23] And I played the demo of it and on the demo of the open beta.
[00:46:27] And it was such trash.
[00:46:28] Like I just I tried to pretend it didn't exist for a long time.
[00:46:32] That's like the Dragon Ball.
[00:46:33] I mean, that's like the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD thing.
[00:46:36] That was on the 360.
[00:46:37] You know what I'm talking about?
[00:46:39] No.
[00:46:40] It where I had completely different physics and everything.
[00:46:42] And it was super.
[00:46:43] It was like way slower and terrible and floaty.
[00:46:45] And I was just like, this this doesn't exist.
[00:46:47] I'm just going to pretend it doesn't exist.
[00:46:49] Dear listeners, if you haven't heard of it, I don't blame you.
[00:46:51] You haven't Dragon Ball Breakers was a like $40 Dragon Ball game
[00:46:55] that was just dead by daylight, but Dragon Ball.
[00:46:58] And it was really bad.
[00:47:01] It looked bad.
[00:47:03] Yeah. If you watch the trailer, it's like this is not going to be good.
[00:47:06] Looks bad.
[00:47:08] But anyways, Naive, preconceptions or history with the My Hero series or this game?
[00:47:15] I watched the show.
[00:47:17] I didn't watch all of it.
[00:47:18] I watched up until like there's two tournament arcs as far as I'm aware.
[00:47:23] I'm sure there's only two.
[00:47:25] And the second tournament arc is where I stopped like right after that.
[00:47:29] Like as new characters are being introduced and stuff.
[00:47:33] And I don't remember why I just got distracted by like Elden Ringed
[00:47:37] or something, probably.
[00:47:38] And then I just never started watching it again.
[00:47:41] And the game is really I mean, the show is really good.
[00:47:43] The only reason I got introduced to it is because there's this character
[00:47:47] named Izawa or Eraserhead who is not in this game, by the way.
[00:47:50] But he looks he has a striking resemblance to me.
[00:47:53] If you want to look him up real quick, Phillip.
[00:47:55] All right, I'm looking at Shiori Izawa.
[00:47:58] No, that's a lady.
[00:47:59] I don't know his name.
[00:48:00] First name is.
[00:48:01] You know, I misspelled it anyways.
[00:48:03] I put it Izawa.
[00:48:04] Aized.
[00:48:06] Fuck, I just said that.
[00:48:07] Aized.
[00:48:08] W.A.
[00:48:09] I found him.
[00:48:09] Yeah, W.A.
[00:48:11] I don't know.
[00:48:11] Well, he's got like red eyes.
[00:48:12] It doesn't look like you.
[00:48:14] Well, what do you mean he's got red eyes?
[00:48:15] So when his red eyes are when he's activating his court.
[00:48:19] So normally he has brown eyes.
[00:48:21] I mean, there's a picture of him laying in a sleeping bag.
[00:48:23] It's pretty cute.
[00:48:23] Yeah.
[00:48:24] He he sleeps during class and asleep.
[00:48:26] He's the teacher of them.
[00:48:28] OK, he doesn't look like a student.
[00:48:30] And his his quirk is that he or if he stares at you,
[00:48:33] he can erase your quirk as long as he's staring at you.
[00:48:37] He's very cool.
[00:48:38] I mean, is that a great ability?
[00:48:39] Like, I guess it is a great ability,
[00:48:41] but only if you're one on one fighting.
[00:48:43] But he also so another thing he has, which I don't think I think it's just
[00:48:47] a thing. So in the show, there are these people called tech.
[00:48:50] They're like tech class heroes and they they make things
[00:48:54] rather they don't go out on the front lines.
[00:48:56] They just make gadgets for people.
[00:48:57] And I saw what has this like it's basically the cape from
[00:49:02] what's it called Aladdin?
[00:49:04] Yeah, it's like the magic carpet so you can fly.
[00:49:06] Yeah, it's the magic.
[00:49:07] So he has this like scarf and then it's really like a mummy bandage.
[00:49:12] I don't know what the fuck it is, but he could shoot it out
[00:49:14] and it'll grab people like and then he could shoot out in like all different
[00:49:17] directions. I was thinking of spawnscape.
[00:49:20] You know what I mean? Yeah.
[00:49:21] Or it's like spawn has chains actually.
[00:49:23] Does this keep new stuff? It doesn't matter.
[00:49:25] No, I mean, there's a game.
[00:49:27] The legend of the tide, the zing or something like that.
[00:49:29] That's all you came fast, currently.
[00:49:31] And you have a scarf that you can use as like a grappling hook
[00:49:35] and also grabs enemies and stuff.
[00:49:37] Yeah, it turns out this isn't a this isn't a unique idea.
[00:49:40] No, I was still cool.
[00:49:42] Yeah, it's so cool.
[00:49:44] Yeah, I like it.
[00:49:46] I like the designs.
[00:49:48] That is the old.
[00:49:48] So since we were talking about cosplay before,
[00:49:50] that is the only time I've ever cosplayed.
[00:49:53] I was like that guy.
[00:49:55] I saw yeah, there was a Halloween like there's a live music event.
[00:49:59] A Halloween thing.
[00:50:00] And I was still dating Madeline at the time and she made me an
[00:50:04] Izawa costume, which is really just a black like black clothes
[00:50:08] and that scarf thing.
[00:50:10] A really long scarf. Yeah.
[00:50:13] All right. So I'm like the characters make up a big deal of this game
[00:50:17] because this is a battle royale and I'm going to mess up these names a lot.
[00:50:21] It's unintentional.
[00:50:23] I just can't pronounce them and I don't know the characters that well.
[00:50:26] Yeah, I could easily pronounce all of these, but I don't want to.
[00:50:29] I want to do it.
[00:50:30] Perfect, which going down the list, they split them up like League of Legends style.
[00:50:35] This is a team based battle royale.
[00:50:38] Well, not like League of Legends, but just like any game that has tactics in it.
[00:50:42] It's a 3V3V3V3 up to 24 players or whatever.
[00:50:47] So it's actually eight teams of three and you just go in and you do get out.
[00:50:52] You fight to the last man standard Fortnite rules.
[00:50:55] There's gas coming in.
[00:50:56] You got to pick up gear as you're running around,
[00:50:58] but all the gear are either like level ups for your inherent abilities
[00:51:02] or little side bonuses or consumables.
[00:51:05] So there's no actual weapons per se in this.
[00:51:09] Now.
[00:51:11] Team builds seem like they probably matter, but much like Pokemon Unite.
[00:51:15] It doesn't seem to matter as long as you're good at your character.
[00:51:19] Like I feel like if you're just good as your character,
[00:51:21] you can probably run down anything.
[00:51:22] Yeah, I feel like there's like a tier list probably as well.
[00:51:26] Oh, that sounds even though I didn't get to play too many characters.
[00:51:30] I one of the characters I was playing, I was like,
[00:51:32] this is definitely like a fucking C tier character.
[00:51:34] Like I don't I just don't understand how to even do anything with this guy
[00:51:38] with this guy.
[00:51:39] Well, a lot of them have like multiple uses of their abilities.
[00:51:41] It's almost like Smash Bros.
[00:51:42] Where like there's extra notes to each character
[00:51:45] that you don't even really understand unless you play them for 300 hours.
[00:51:48] And then you're like, oh, I know exactly how to always do
[00:51:51] the Samus extended grab bullshit.
[00:51:53] So something something, you know, it's like, oh my god,
[00:51:56] if I fucking dash cancel block my fucking right bumper ability,
[00:52:00] as soon as my left bumper ability comes off cooldown,
[00:52:03] I could do a quadruple combo and juggle them in the air for 15 years.
[00:52:06] Exactly.
[00:52:08] So I played about four different characters.
[00:52:10] So I don't have a ton of experience with them.
[00:52:13] Like the first one I played was
[00:52:15] a Zuki Midoriya, which is the Naruto.
[00:52:18] And he's pretty good, but he wasn't very interesting.
[00:52:21] At least to me.
[00:52:22] I don't know, you play this guy any.
[00:52:23] He is really good.
[00:52:24] Was he good?
[00:52:25] Yeah. Well, so when you got off, I played three games with them
[00:52:28] and each time I got multiple kills.
[00:52:30] I even got so there is a like a little
[00:52:33] there are like little emblems you get
[00:52:35] and the way that you get them is you do a thing
[00:52:37] and you unlock it that way.
[00:52:38] Kind of like the original Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
[00:52:40] like with the little title cards.
[00:52:43] And I with playing Mizzouk, it's you
[00:52:46] playing Midoriya, I wiped an entire team by myself.
[00:52:50] Really? I got the thing for saying single handedly beating
[00:52:54] an entire team because I dropped somewhere different
[00:52:57] and I walked off and I realized my team spawned somewhere else.
[00:53:01] I was like, oh, and then I just fought three guys in one.
[00:53:05] See, it was just good ADC or what?
[00:53:07] No, well, they fought me one at a time.
[00:53:10] OK. So there's quite a lot of them between each fight.
[00:53:13] Yeah. And I think the first guy I pretty much almost killed
[00:53:16] before he realized I was like how like where I was or what I was
[00:53:19] because I was shooting him.
[00:53:20] Midoriya is a shooty thing.
[00:53:23] I think most people have a shooty thing,
[00:53:24] but I was like shooting him for a while and I was like, all right, well.
[00:53:29] Yeah, well, I guess he works for you.
[00:53:30] I didn't really like him.
[00:53:31] I think about using for like my first match
[00:53:33] and then I lost and I'm like,
[00:53:34] that guy's obviously trash.
[00:53:36] And then I was sort of switching characters from there.
[00:53:38] Yeah. Well, the good thing is because he has that
[00:53:41] he has this homing kick.
[00:53:42] Now it's not a homing kick.
[00:53:43] It shoots right where you're aiming.
[00:53:46] But the game has really hardcore aim assist.
[00:53:48] So I would find somebody and the moment they turned and ran,
[00:53:52] I like I would do that homing kick
[00:53:54] and it always knocked them down if you hit them.
[00:53:56] And the hitbox is huge.
[00:53:57] It's like your whole body.
[00:53:59] Like you turn into a fucking bullet bill.
[00:54:01] And yeah.
[00:54:03] So and then it knocks you down
[00:54:04] and then you just bang bang bang shoot them in the back of the head.
[00:54:07] You know, like the hitting them when they're down is so funny.
[00:54:10] Yeah. You know, yeah.
[00:54:12] Every time I get knocked on, I was like, oh, I guess I'm a controller.
[00:54:15] Yeah, I'm done playing.
[00:54:17] The next character I played that I kind of enjoyed was Fireboy
[00:54:19] Ajiro Krishima.
[00:54:22] This guy, he was pretty good, but I just felt like I needed more practice
[00:54:26] with him because his fireballs were like really slow.
[00:54:29] It's like he's like red spiky hair guy, if you don't remember.
[00:54:33] What Hiroshima is not a fire guy.
[00:54:36] Hiroshima is the rock guy.
[00:54:39] I mean, we're mixing up my dudes then.
[00:54:41] Todoroki is the fire guy.
[00:54:43] Todoroki.
[00:54:44] Yeah. Todoroki is icy hot.
[00:54:47] Is that his power?
[00:54:49] But yeah, he has he's half ice, half fire.
[00:54:53] Let me look and see what he looks like.
[00:54:56] No, I didn't play this guy.
[00:54:57] I don't know. I just I'm mixing them up then.
[00:55:01] Or I'd be curious.
[00:55:02] Is there a fire villain?
[00:55:04] Yes, that's Dobby.
[00:55:06] Oh, I did blue fire guy.
[00:55:08] Oh, yeah, I did blue fire guy.
[00:55:10] I was Dobby then.
[00:55:11] So you're like the complete opposite of the color spectrum.
[00:55:14] And you can like I don't remember there was fireballs
[00:55:16] and that one was good because like he had a lot of A.O.E. bullshit.
[00:55:20] So it was easier people.
[00:55:22] He's annoying and fucking once justice.
[00:55:24] Holy fuck, yeah, really annoying.
[00:55:27] The next character I tried was Sugar Rocky,
[00:55:30] who he's like a darkness hand guy.
[00:55:34] And he was pretty good.
[00:55:35] Most because his quirk is.
[00:55:38] I think you told me about him whenever you're playing.
[00:55:40] Doesn't he just remember?
[00:55:41] He breaks down the atoms of things he touches or something.
[00:55:44] OK, yeah, you do remember.
[00:55:46] Well, in the game, I don't think he breaks the atoms down,
[00:55:48] but he disintegrates things.
[00:55:49] Yeah, he like that's what he does.
[00:55:51] He's such sound like purple explosions.
[00:55:54] Yeah, and he's got eczema.
[00:55:55] That's his second quirk.
[00:55:57] That's not a good quirk.
[00:55:58] I know. Well, that's why he's in villain and hero.
[00:56:01] Let me get to my main, though.
[00:56:03] Oh, Chaku Rocka, dude, she's my boy.
[00:56:07] Like she just seems so good, like especially whenever,
[00:56:11] like on my last match, I had someone else wanted to play
[00:56:13] here on my team or whatever.
[00:56:14] So I would then get to play as her
[00:56:15] because you can have duplicate champs on the same team.
[00:56:17] And watching this guy after I died, I just watched him play.
[00:56:21] But a rocker can do so much crazy bullshit.
[00:56:24] She has like a grappling hook.
[00:56:26] She can make herself float and make her teammates float
[00:56:29] so you guys can jump extra far to like travel around.
[00:56:33] Like there's a lot of utility in her build.
[00:56:35] But also she has a lot of CC where she just spins in a circle
[00:56:39] just swinging around a heavy object
[00:56:41] that she made float or whatever.
[00:56:43] And she just knocks everything around.
[00:56:45] Janna did highlight that she looks like a derbysaurus Rex
[00:56:47] in her little costume, though, which I agree.
[00:56:50] She looks pretty derpy, but I feel like they just adds to the charm.
[00:56:53] Yeah. Well, I mean, she's supposed to be super cute,
[00:56:55] like like like like a like a is a genuine situation
[00:56:59] like a sangrio character or whatever, a sangrio.
[00:57:04] Like she's got like a simple like a simple design
[00:57:07] as opposed to like some of the other characters, hero costumes.
[00:57:11] Yeah, but she was really good.
[00:57:12] Like if like if I'm going to keep playing,
[00:57:13] I probably want to just main her.
[00:57:15] I didn't try any other characters,
[00:57:18] but one I did want to highlight.
[00:57:20] There is a guy named Seaman toss.
[00:57:23] Some toss, some mint, us Seaman.
[00:57:29] What do you think he does?
[00:57:31] I assume he toss them in.
[00:57:32] He just he just makes pavement wherever he wants.
[00:57:35] He can make pavement anywhere.
[00:57:37] So just like out of the ground.
[00:57:40] That's it. It is pavement like building.
[00:57:43] Like, you know how buildings are made?
[00:57:44] He could like make pavement come out like a wall.
[00:57:48] You know, this is why people make fun of anime
[00:57:49] is that you have like the you have the marvel where you're like,
[00:57:51] oh, it's Magneto.
[00:57:52] He's able to be magnetizing metals and stuff.
[00:57:55] I'm like, all right, that's pretty cool.
[00:57:56] And then it's like, what do you got over here?
[00:57:57] We got Seaman toss.
[00:57:59] He's able to make pavement.
[00:58:01] I bet there's someone just like this in fucking stupid.
[00:58:05] Whatever you're talking about.
[00:58:07] What are you looking up?
[00:58:08] Pavement maker, Marv.
[00:58:10] I don't know.
[00:58:10] I don't know how to even word this.
[00:58:12] Like, I don't.
[00:58:17] I don't know how to wear this.
[00:58:18] Never mind.
[00:58:19] Trimmer and Mortal Kombat is just this.
[00:58:22] That's this. This trimmer.
[00:58:23] This is the same guy.
[00:58:25] Trimmers the brown ninja.
[00:58:29] No, it's just like, what is doing the bit
[00:58:31] wasn't making pavement even do like blocks?
[00:58:34] Is he like an enemy?
[00:58:37] Yeah, he's like an air fender kind of the only way
[00:58:39] I could like throw it.
[00:58:41] But like he makes walls.
[00:58:42] He can be like separate enemies.
[00:58:45] Like he can like literally pinpoint like, well,
[00:58:47] like if there's five in a group,
[00:58:48] he could like box them all into like one little area.
[00:58:51] I think it hurts him after a while, but that's a little bit better.
[00:58:54] I know in the game that somebody was making
[00:58:56] the giant cement blocks just around us.
[00:58:59] That was him. OK.
[00:58:59] Well, that was the thing too is that one time
[00:59:01] I was watching randomly guy.
[00:59:03] I was like eating like granola bars.
[00:59:05] I was just taking a break and I was watching
[00:59:06] the people that killed me and one of them was cement toss.
[00:59:09] And he like a teammate was down
[00:59:12] and he threw a big thing and the dude crawled under it.
[00:59:16] Oh, OK.
[00:59:17] He didn't go down.
[00:59:18] Yeah. And so in this game, if you're down,
[00:59:20] you don't have to get picked up.
[00:59:22] You could just wait for like 30 seconds.
[00:59:24] And if no one kills you while you're on the ground,
[00:59:26] then you just pick yourself back up.
[00:59:28] And so I think that's one of his abilities.
[00:59:29] And so there are different classes in this game
[00:59:32] in some of cement toss is a support class.
[00:59:34] That is actually kind of because that's kind of how it is
[00:59:37] like in my here academia as well, where a Choco or Rock is also
[00:59:41] a support class character because she.
[00:59:43] So there are heroes that are offensive and then there are
[00:59:46] heroes that are basically I'm going to go rescue the people.
[00:59:48] Like there's a hero that is basically just a human fire hydrant.
[00:59:51] Right. He's just blast toys.
[00:59:54] But like he doesn't shoot water hard enough to hurt people.
[00:59:56] So he's like primarily a firefighter.
[00:59:59] Like so he comes fires while everyone else is fighting the villains.
[01:00:02] Yeah, essentially. Or he fights the fire based villains.
[01:00:05] You know what I mean?
[01:00:06] Obviously fights them.
[01:00:07] But it's kind of like that, right?
[01:00:10] So that's what cement toss does.
[01:00:12] All right, let's see.
[01:00:13] Other people want to highlight.
[01:00:14] I did see Mr.
[01:00:17] All my go a couple of times.
[01:00:18] But all you really notice that he do is he would just jump across the map.
[01:00:22] That seemed to just be what he was always doing.
[01:00:25] Yeah. Well, it's the thing.
[01:00:27] It's like it's like Superman before he realized he could fly.
[01:00:32] He's jumped really far. That's really far.
[01:00:34] Yeah, that's that's what.
[01:00:37] Mount, I assume is the lady that turns into a giant mountain
[01:00:40] or not a giant woman.
[01:00:42] Yeah, she's a giant lady, which is literally a giant woman
[01:00:45] like on the battlefield.
[01:00:46] She takes up like a.
[01:00:48] They're like, you see her.
[01:00:50] Like, whoa, a giant woman over there.
[01:00:52] Like that's actually really cool.
[01:00:54] That's whenever she uses her.
[01:00:56] Like everyone has like an ultimate that like does a certain thing.
[01:01:00] Like I think Mr.
[01:01:03] Chigaraki's thing is he turns like super stinky.
[01:01:08] And so everything around him just starts like dissolving.
[01:01:11] It makes all this extra stuff like that.
[01:01:14] Mount, why she gets really, really big?
[01:01:18] But besides that, I don't even remember everyone's ultimates.
[01:01:22] I think a rocker just makes everyone float around her and she does hers.
[01:01:26] When she has some great ones where she like lift up a whole section of people
[01:01:30] and then people are just like floating through the air trying to get out of the
[01:01:33] AOE so they can drop back down.
[01:01:35] But if she reactivates it, she can slam everyone down and stuns them.
[01:01:39] It's really, really good, CC.
[01:01:41] Besides that, I don't know if I have any other
[01:01:43] on a highlight.
[01:01:44] I know you were playing as like fantasy hair lady for a while.
[01:01:49] Yeah, that was the only character I didn't know who she was.
[01:01:53] So that was but for that she came out after I stopped watching.
[01:01:57] So.
[01:01:59] Well, I mean, is there any character you want to talk about like they're in game representation?
[01:02:03] Yeah, I don't really know.
[01:02:04] I only played Midori, really.
[01:02:07] I played that hair lady and Midori.
[01:02:08] The hair lady wasn't very good.
[01:02:10] That's who I was referencing.
[01:02:11] I didn't know how to use it in order Billy's did.
[01:02:13] I mean, I read them and I was like, OK, I understand this information.
[01:02:16] But then as I'm fighting, I don't remember.
[01:02:18] So it's like as you're in the middle of the fray.
[01:02:20] But as soon as I started playing Midori, I started fucking whooping names.
[01:02:25] Let's talk about finding the fray.
[01:02:27] This is a very chaotic fighter.
[01:02:29] This feels like, you know, an eight man Super Smash Bros.
[01:02:33] fight with everyone just throwing shit everywhere at all times,
[01:02:37] just trying to take each other out.
[01:02:38] And then I'm like, oh, no, I'm dying.
[01:02:39] I need to get away.
[01:02:40] And then you run and you try to heal.
[01:02:43] But nothing is like it just hard to see where the enemies are coming from.
[01:02:46] I feel like that's something you probably get with time.
[01:02:49] It's like in Call of Duty, how like everything's
[01:02:51] brown and gray and you can't see the enemies.
[01:02:53] But they're just blending in with all their camouflage.
[01:02:55] But then after you spend eight hours playing on the same map,
[01:02:58] you notice the different shades of gray moving in the corner.
[01:03:01] You know, there's a pixel right there and you just shoot them.
[01:03:05] Yeah. What do you think about the combat?
[01:03:08] I mean, the combat's fine.
[01:03:09] It's like X, X light attack, Y heavy attack.
[01:03:11] You got some moves that you just they're all key bound to one button.
[01:03:16] And the last trigger aims good.
[01:03:21] Yeah. Was it C harder?
[01:03:24] Which I thought about you said you squint so you can see better.
[01:03:27] I was thinking about that in cyberpunk.
[01:03:29] You could just squints and see better.
[01:03:32] Yeah, but it makes sense.
[01:03:33] It's actually cyber eyes that do in fact, you see better.
[01:03:37] That was a whole point where they're like, I got you the the new
[01:03:40] Nokia's and they're going in your eyes and you're going to be able
[01:03:44] to see anything when cameras look at you.
[01:03:46] They won't even see your face.
[01:03:48] And I'm like, thanks, Victor.
[01:03:49] I'm out of here.
[01:03:50] That is the cool, a cool fucking thing, though,
[01:03:52] that like you that you have implants in your face that make your face
[01:03:56] like a fucking smiley face or like like you're in manhunt.
[01:04:00] It's cyber is so good.
[01:04:01] Like it's pretty good.
[01:04:03] Like it just feels like a lot.
[01:04:05] This game, my hero, it feels almost like simple, but it feels like.
[01:04:12] I don't know.
[01:04:12] It's probably one of the better free to play games I've played in a while.
[01:04:16] Yeah, I mean, it's not terrible.
[01:04:17] It's annoying that all the characters are locked, but.
[01:04:20] That's part of the free to play.
[01:04:21] Yeah, they got to make their money.
[01:04:22] Like a lot of the characters are locked behind the leveling system,
[01:04:26] which I'm like, OK, I kind of almost wish you just let me give you 20 bucks
[01:04:32] to like get all the characters.
[01:04:33] That's a little annoying.
[01:04:33] I think it probably got your machine.
[01:04:36] Yeah, but you can also you have these like points that you acquire
[01:04:39] and you can get tickets that unlock the characters, but there's only like eight.
[01:04:44] Well, how many characters are there?
[01:04:45] There's only like five characters that you can unlock with those tickets.
[01:04:48] And I had enough for two by the time I was done playing
[01:04:51] and I unlocked two characters and just stop playing.
[01:04:53] I didn't even play them.
[01:04:53] I don't even know what they did.
[01:04:54] I mean, I know what they did as characters, but I didn't know how they played in the game.
[01:05:00] One thing I liked about this game, the game is that the map
[01:05:04] is actually in the anime.
[01:05:07] Is like this is a place is really good.
[01:05:09] So this place right here is where the students go to practice
[01:05:14] different scenarios for like saving civilians.
[01:05:18] And so a lot of like training happens in this place.
[01:05:21] Like it literally looks just like this.
[01:05:23] There are little zones and each little quadrant
[01:05:26] and like there's a really emotional and huge like arc that happens in this specific place.
[01:05:31] So people who have watched past like the second season of the seven anime.
[01:05:35] I actually think this happens at the end of the first season,
[01:05:37] but like it's a really early thing that happened.
[01:05:39] So you don't even have to get that far into the end of the show
[01:05:41] to like walk around these areas and be like, Holy shit, this is where that fight happened.
[01:05:47] You know what I mean? You're like, Oh, I recognize this place.
[01:05:49] Oh, so I'm glad it's accurate because when I looked at it,
[01:05:52] my first thought was, do you remember in Full Metal Alchemist
[01:05:55] when they go to the Alchemist trial?
[01:05:57] Is it the Alchemist?
[01:05:59] It is just like a huge circle dome area.
[01:06:02] And they're like here, just go in and then there's that one guy
[01:06:05] that made a tower and then I think something else like blew it up
[01:06:08] and then it started doing like a was like a Hindenburg situation.
[01:06:12] Everyone was going to die.
[01:06:15] Damn, yeah, that's the regular Full Metal, isn't it?
[01:06:18] Because that doesn't happen in Brotherhood.
[01:06:19] That's not a brother. They skip.
[01:06:20] They like, look, you've already seen regular Full Metal.
[01:06:23] You don't need that in Brotherhood.
[01:06:24] Yeah, they do a lot of yada, yada, yada, etc.
[01:06:27] And then some have and then the Chinese people show up
[01:06:29] and I'm like, I forgot Chinese people were in the show
[01:06:33] as this little girl is walking around with her like Chinese buns
[01:06:36] and a panda on her shoulder.
[01:06:39] Oh my God, did you have you seen these fake Disney AI generated
[01:06:43] movie posters? Yeah, I saw one that's that was the girl and the dog.
[01:06:49] Yeah, I think they even thought it was like a girl and her dog or something.
[01:06:51] But it was like together or something.
[01:06:54] I can't remember. I was like, whoa, all right, these are great.
[01:06:58] I saw one. I saw one.
[01:07:00] It wasn't a movie poster, but it was Shrek.
[01:07:04] God, it was Shrek crawling
[01:07:07] through underneath barbed wire in Vietnam around a bunch of bloody dead soldiers.
[01:07:13] It looks so fucking stupid.
[01:07:16] Is it was like actually Shrek?
[01:07:18] Yeah, like it's so funny, man.
[01:07:21] It's so scary, but it's so funny.
[01:07:23] All right. Yeah, the zones are really good.
[01:07:25] I really like the map, especially how
[01:07:29] you can almost like choose your battlefield.
[01:07:31] Like I bet you could definitely like some teams are going to like favor
[01:07:34] certain maps, the way they kind of shake it up to get you to drop
[01:07:38] different places as they place a extra large golden chest on the map.
[01:07:42] You know, like, yeah, here's the revives.
[01:07:45] If you die, they're going to be in this chest.
[01:07:47] Here's the cornucopia who wants to drop here.
[01:07:50] And most of all, it seems like no, whatever drops on the chest instead.
[01:07:53] I'm like, man, I just want to go to the fire zone or the typhoon zone.
[01:07:57] The ones that are like in a in closed space so I could see the enemies coming
[01:08:01] because if we're out in the trees, I'm just like they're in the trees.
[01:08:05] I can't see them.
[01:08:06] It's a Vietnam. Yeah.
[01:08:09] It those were crazy.
[01:08:10] Like we stopped.
[01:08:11] We spawned in the collapse zone once and then every other time is like,
[01:08:15] all right, we only are going to go into the typhoon and fire zone.
[01:08:18] Fuck outdoors. Fuck.
[01:08:20] The outdoors were bad.
[01:08:22] But now it's seen it.
[01:08:23] But towards the end, like people were really like starting to spawn
[01:08:26] in those a lot too.
[01:08:27] And I was like, OK, well, this is starting to become unwieldy.
[01:08:30] I don't want that we did or I think this is one where like
[01:08:34] we had an issue where we would disconnect from each other when I hit search for match.
[01:08:39] So you would get put in a match and I would get put in a different match.
[01:08:43] I think that happened more than once.
[01:08:45] Yeah. Yeah.
[01:08:46] One of those matches, we were doing really good.
[01:08:48] And we started out in like the fire zone and migrated to the water zone,
[01:08:52] which has like a huge tower in it.
[01:08:54] And we were basically just camping the tower, just watching people fight
[01:08:57] in the center zone.
[01:08:58] And I'm like, this is fantastic.
[01:09:00] Like this is I love this.
[01:09:02] This game 100 percent punishes people like me, though,
[01:09:05] that are like blood thirsty.
[01:09:07] Like I want to fight and you take you don't recover damage.
[01:09:12] You have to get potions and stuff.
[01:09:14] And there are potions all over the place, but those potions vary in quality
[01:09:17] and also take time to use.
[01:09:19] It takes so long to use.
[01:09:21] And usually in the map is so small that usually by the time
[01:09:26] you're in the middle of your second potion, someone's already coming down on you.
[01:09:30] You know, the bushes are surprisingly good coverage, though.
[01:09:34] Yeah, I definitely went down.
[01:09:37] In a bush, I went down and then scooted my ass over to a bush
[01:09:41] and the enemies forgot where I was and then left and I got back up
[01:09:44] and then died right after because I was 25 health.
[01:09:47] How many times have you seen them hide in bushes?
[01:09:49] Never. This is a fortnight thing.
[01:09:53] They probably this was probably QA'd, right?
[01:09:55] They probably saw that people were dying too often.
[01:10:00] There were hardly ever times where they would get back up.
[01:10:02] So that whole mechanic of being alive for a little bit never came into play.
[01:10:05] But they saw people using the bushes and foliage and stuff to try
[01:10:09] and like obscure their vision, but it was never enough.
[01:10:11] So they were probably like, fuck it, make it like eight story tall bushes everywhere.
[01:10:15] Bushes are huge.
[01:10:18] I almost guarantee that's what it is, because it looks weird when you're looking at it.
[01:10:21] Like this is an unnatural amount of foliage.
[01:10:26] I mean, just a map, you can see them on the map.
[01:10:29] Like there's huge and those are bushes, not trees usually.
[01:10:32] Yeah, which by the way, this is a dome.
[01:10:34] Like you're in a big old dome.
[01:10:36] I don't think there are windows.
[01:10:37] There's so many green trees everywhere and stuff.
[01:10:40] I'm pretty sure there's no way out.
[01:10:42] Sky outside.
[01:10:43] So maybe it's like a transparent glass situation or something.
[01:10:48] Oh, I don't remember.
[01:10:50] It's like a huge dome.
[01:10:51] Like you there are like 20 story buildings inside of this thing.
[01:10:55] I'm trying to remember the anime.
[01:10:56] I don't remember if there was a roof, but it had there had to have been
[01:10:59] because there are people with corks where they can fly and stuff.
[01:11:03] So but it's supposed to be a secure area.
[01:11:06] Maybe you're right, it maybe it's transparent glass.
[01:11:07] I don't know.
[01:11:09] It doesn't matter.
[01:11:10] I'm thinking about it too hard because of me.
[01:11:11] Is there's probably like super fans of the show that are listening to this
[01:11:13] and like, man, these guys don't know what the fuck they're talking about
[01:11:16] when it comes to the show.
[01:11:17] And like, yeah, we don't or I don't.
[01:11:19] Maybe it was more than me.
[01:11:21] Yeah, as a finished it.
[01:11:22] I've seen the first two seasons like six times.
[01:11:25] I just keep trying to restart the show, but I always want to start
[01:11:28] at the beginning and then I never get.
[01:11:30] I can't even get to where I stopped the first time.
[01:11:33] I don't know why I was distracted.
[01:11:35] All right, let's see.
[01:11:37] Pickups and gear.
[01:11:38] We already kind of talked about that.
[01:11:40] I don't think there's really more to say and normal free to play.
[01:11:43] What do you mean?
[01:11:43] You so that's a primary thing in the game.
[01:11:46] We didn't talk about the leveling up of your abilities.
[01:11:49] Well, yeah, like it's like League of Legends where you can choose
[01:11:51] like, oh, I'm going to level up my Q nine times in none of my other abilities.
[01:11:56] But you do that if it's beneficial to your build or your team, I guess,
[01:11:59] like a Roka, a Raka who was I rock.
[01:12:03] Rock, she she has
[01:12:07] like kind of supportive abilities in the like the CC where it picks up
[01:12:13] a bigger and bigger area makes it easier to hit makes it last longer.
[01:12:17] But honestly, my favorite is to level up her melee
[01:12:20] where she just spins around swings like a giant hammer in a circle
[01:12:24] where once it reached level nine or top level, she picks up a car.
[01:12:27] It makes a giant just is spinning in circles, just obliterating people.
[01:12:31] She hits them and knocks them down so they can't get up.
[01:12:34] And then you just stand on top of them, Hulk smash, hitting them with a car repeatedly.
[01:12:37] And it gets kills.
[01:12:39] And I'm like, this is great as long as no one interrupts you.
[01:12:43] I always just leveled up Midori is gun.
[01:12:47] Is regular human gun?
[01:12:49] Yeah. And just fucking shot of repeatedly, which by the way,
[01:12:51] I am real listening to Dungeons and Daddies.
[01:12:54] I was going to say regular human gun.
[01:12:55] I was like, wait, doesn't really make sense, does it?
[01:12:57] But it doesn't matter.
[01:13:00] I mean, the gear is pretty good, especially when the supportive gear,
[01:13:03] because I know I got multiple items.
[01:13:05] One was like a a shield all potion, where if you drink it,
[01:13:09] it takes like 30 seconds to drink, but it gives your whole team shields.
[01:13:13] Or there's a I don't know what they called them, like a talent card
[01:13:17] that instead of a court card that where you can activate
[01:13:20] and cause like a healing circle around you.
[01:13:22] So I was able to heal, naive just by standing near him during a fight.
[01:13:25] Yeah. And then some of them were like, well, this wasn't a quirk.
[01:13:29] This was so all the characters have like a hidden ability.
[01:13:32] I don't know if it's the ultimate for all of them,
[01:13:34] but the girl with the green hair, she can instantly revive somebody
[01:13:38] if you press Y near them.
[01:13:39] And so like you would go down.
[01:13:41] I'd be like, gotcha.
[01:13:42] And I'd heal you and run away real fast because I fucking sucked at fighting.
[01:13:47] No, yeah, that is your ultimate, I think.
[01:13:50] Or it probably is.
[01:13:51] Yeah.
[01:13:52] Which is.
[01:13:53] Which is.
[01:13:55] I don't know what more to say about gear.
[01:13:57] I think we're running out of stuff here.
[01:13:58] That's really it.
[01:14:00] About the gear.
[01:14:02] All right. Well, do you have any more viewpoints?
[01:14:05] As far as the main menu stuff, there's like this like so in this
[01:14:09] in this anime, the students can go to these things called,
[01:14:13] I think talent agencies and I can't remember that exactly what they're called.
[01:14:17] But like they are ran by a hero and they have like underlings
[01:14:21] like like interns essentially.
[01:14:23] And you can have one of these in this game.
[01:14:25] It's essentially like the clans and that and I think that that's really cute
[01:14:29] whenever like you get this these established things, they got like.
[01:14:32] You get your own game.
[01:14:33] Yeah.
[01:14:34] And so it's like talent agency or just a hero agency, I can't remember.
[01:14:38] But that's a really fun arc in the in the anime
[01:14:42] where all the characters go off to their different talent agencies
[01:14:44] and you get to meet like different heroes and stuff.
[01:14:47] But I think the agencies are cool.
[01:14:50] I don't know exactly what's going on, but like you can build different things
[01:14:54] and you contribute your experience, your money and like all kind
[01:14:57] like your different currencies into the agency to help it level up and stuff.
[01:15:02] And.
[01:15:05] Well, so there is also another thing when you're watching
[01:15:08] the people running around in the game after you've died, you can like them.
[01:15:12] You can give them likes.
[01:15:13] Also, if you see them in the leaderboards, you can give them likes and stuff too.
[01:15:16] Like you can see their their little custom name tag thing.
[01:15:22] You can edit that with all that stuff.
[01:15:24] They're better. Yeah.
[01:15:26] Yeah, there's all kinds of little things you can do to that.
[01:15:28] And all these likes accumulate and then you can see on the leaderboards,
[01:15:32] people who have like the most likes in the month or like in the overall stuff.
[01:15:37] And I'm like flipping through all the different guys
[01:15:39] with all the most likes and stuff and all the most kills and stuff.
[01:15:42] Like this is kind of weird, like looking at all of these
[01:15:45] because it's like the whole thing about my hero is also that there is a leaderboard
[01:15:49] of heroes and they are by most popular.
[01:15:53] So I think it's just cool that there the main leaderboard is the most popular hero
[01:15:57] because that's who all might is he's the number one hero.
[01:16:00] That's like how that's like the big thing about like the the main heroes
[01:16:05] is that they're all vying from all my exposition in the anime.
[01:16:09] I see, I see.
[01:16:10] It's so cool.
[01:16:12] Life imitates art, it imitates life in video games.
[01:16:18] I just shows that at least one person in the dev team was like,
[01:16:22] well, why don't we like just kind of rewrite it this way?
[01:16:24] Where it's like it's like the same, but like the words are different.
[01:16:27] I mean, that makes me think of Dragon Ball Breakers situation again,
[01:16:31] because once again in Dragon Ball Breakers,
[01:16:33] it's kind of based on the the Frieza arc or the Namek arc
[01:16:37] where you just have Bulma and Gohan running around trying to hide Dragon
[01:16:41] Balls from Vegeta and Frieza.
[01:16:45] No, Frieza.
[01:16:46] Frieza. Frieza.
[01:16:48] Hunt them down.
[01:16:50] All their fucking batteries right here, dude.
[01:16:52] Well, flavor Duracell.
[01:16:54] Oh, double A nice field of boost.
[01:16:56] Just like just like Alan Wake.
[01:16:59] You better have those batteries.
[01:17:00] What was it? Duracell and Alan Wake.
[01:17:02] What was he sponsored by?
[01:17:03] Do you remember there were a lot of sponsors in Alan Wake?
[01:17:05] Oh, God, we don't need to talk about the sponsors in Alan Wake.
[01:17:08] Let's take a quick break.
[01:17:09] The music plays.
[01:17:12] You only put Alan Wake in Fortnite.
[01:17:15] Energizer and Verizon.
[01:17:17] And then all the cars are forwarded in Lincoln.
[01:17:20] Really?
[01:17:21] So all the sponsors.
[01:17:22] Oh, and also Microsoft related brands appeared in the game.
[01:17:25] Wait, Alan Wake, wasn't that a Microsoft exclusive?
[01:17:28] I don't actually I don't think it was.
[01:17:30] I don't I think I'm making something up.
[01:17:32] Why wait, why would there be Microsoft shit in there if it wasn't?
[01:17:35] Maybe just because it was a Microsoft exclusive for the 360 gen.
[01:17:39] But then it was on the PlayStation 4 and 5 when I got remastered.
[01:17:42] Like in Condemn where you had Xboxes just in the crack houses.
[01:17:45] Oh, yeah, right?
[01:17:47] They're like, that's not where you want the Xboxes.
[01:17:50] Good. So what is this?
[01:17:53] There's a banner at the top says Wikipedia is not for sale.
[01:17:58] Who's trying to buy Wikipedia?
[01:18:01] Oh, they're asking for money.
[01:18:02] Oh, oh, yeah, they're always doing that.
[01:18:05] All right, back to our game.
[01:18:07] What is it called? My hero Ultra Rumble.
[01:18:10] Also, ultra is whenever you go in like Super Saiyan mode,
[01:18:13] it gives you like all your ammo and it refills your.
[01:18:17] I don't know if it does your health, but I know it does your shields
[01:18:19] like it tops you off basically gives you another chance to fight
[01:18:22] when you get your ass kicked and your ultra bar grows up
[01:18:25] as you do damage to other people in the game goes on.
[01:18:29] Yeah. And that's my heroes.
[01:18:31] I mean, that's all my catchphrase is go plus ultra.
[01:18:34] So everything has something to do with ultra ultra ultra ultra.
[01:18:37] That's it. Plus ultra is when you go Super Saiyan.
[01:18:41] Yes. Yeah. All right.
[01:18:44] But I'll take these first final words.
[01:18:45] This is going to be a recommend for me, especially if you're a fan of the game
[01:18:49] or not a fan of the series.
[01:18:52] I'm not going to play this anymore unless maybe we feel like going back one day
[01:18:55] when you're like, oh, there's now 109 characters and it's been going on
[01:18:58] for the last four years. I'm like, they got Chow Tzu Chow Tzu's in there.
[01:19:02] Oh my God. They're like they did a crossover with Dragon Ball and Yu-Gi-Oh.
[01:19:05] You get to play as Kaiba. Now that I get incredible.
[01:19:08] Let's do it. Uncle Ben after he got shot in that movie.
[01:19:12] Good. They got Boondocks characters.
[01:19:14] I'm like, all right, let's do it.
[01:19:17] But I'm probably not going to play this anymore.
[01:19:19] But this is a quality free to play game as far as I can throw it.
[01:19:25] So if you like my hero at all, or if you just want a different battle royale
[01:19:30] than Fortnite, you might actually really like this one.
[01:19:34] I enjoy it like we tried to play spell break, which got shut down.
[01:19:38] And it was a anti shoot or not an anti shooter,
[01:19:41] but just a different battle royale that wasn't about like shooters or something like that.
[01:19:45] It was about like spellcasters and combining magic and using
[01:19:49] jumping real magic and yeah, flying around and stuff.
[01:19:52] This is kind of like that.
[01:19:53] You get to fly around, you get to jump.
[01:19:54] There's so many different terrains, but the map is small enough
[01:19:56] that the matches are very fast pace.
[01:19:59] There's none of this like 15 minutes camping in the bushes.
[01:20:03] I mean, you probably could still do that in this game,
[01:20:06] but it's not how we played it.
[01:20:09] So I recommend Naive final words.
[01:20:13] I recommended two because it's free to play.
[01:20:15] But it's like if you want to if you want to play a my hero game,
[01:20:18] you don't mind spending money. My hero once justice one and two.
[01:20:23] They are kind of generic anime fighters.
[01:20:25] So if you're tired of the if you played a lot of the
[01:20:28] demon slayer and Naruto games, you're probably not going to want to play.
[01:20:32] You probably already played the my hero game, just to be honest.
[01:20:35] But like those games are still pretty fun.
[01:20:38] I still haven't played the second one because again,
[01:20:40] I haven't beat the anime and it was spoiling shit for me right away.
[01:20:43] And I was like, oh, no, I would rather I would rather see this in action
[01:20:47] rather than in a fucking still image with anime talking over it.
[01:20:52] Yeah, I don't know.
[01:20:53] I'm not a fan of battle royales.
[01:20:55] I've made that clear.
[01:20:56] And this game, it bored me after like five or six matches.
[01:21:01] I feel like if it was just a fighting game,
[01:21:04] then I would have had a lot more fun with it.
[01:21:05] Like if it was like a three team three on three fighting game,
[01:21:09] that would have been more fun to me than us running around scavenging
[01:21:12] for items, which I don't want to scavenge for items.
[01:21:14] But if they do like a smite with it,
[01:21:16] it made it a third person League of Legends clone or something.
[01:21:20] It'd be fun.
[01:21:20] Like if they made a new game mode, I mean, that's what got me into
[01:21:24] Fortnite was when they were like, all right, fuck the build shit.
[01:21:27] If you all the people who are like, fuck the build shit,
[01:21:29] here's your little game mode for you.
[01:21:31] And turns out to be super popular.
[01:21:33] Yeah, I almost feel like if they did,
[01:21:37] I don't know, I just like League of Legends.
[01:21:38] Like me and Jane were playing some A-Ram the other day
[01:21:40] and it was getting hyped.
[01:21:41] We played till like one AM in the night.
[01:21:43] And that's hard for us because we have a baby that wakes up at six AM.
[01:21:47] So every second counts when it's like the baby's asleep.
[01:21:52] What are we going to do with our time?
[01:21:53] Like, let's get our win of the day in A-Ram.
[01:21:55] You know, let's just do that real quick.
[01:21:57] And I'm like, all right, as but of course, since we're game pass
[01:22:01] subscribers and Janet has Amazon Prime or whatever
[01:22:04] and just tons of blue essence, we have all the characters unlocked.
[01:22:07] So A-Ram gets really weird whenever I get a new character.
[01:22:09] I'm like, oh, I'm Ziri.
[01:22:11] I don't know how to play Ziri,
[01:22:12] but I guess we're doing it because our team needs an ADC.
[01:22:15] I don't even know what the fuck that is.
[01:22:17] Is that a real character?
[01:22:18] Yeah, she's a weird character where it makes us her basic attacks,
[01:22:22] count as spells and her Q start accounts as a basic attack.
[01:22:26] So she builds up like static shiv
[01:22:30] with her passive when she walks around
[01:22:33] and you often like it's recommended to buy
[01:22:35] Sack Shiv on her.
[01:22:36] So you're always charging up like the full static shiv
[01:22:39] and then you queue someone with like the rapid fire
[01:22:42] and it just does crazy burst ADC damage.
[01:22:45] Like it is such a
[01:22:47] unintuitive ADC because just like strafing around and doing vein attacks
[01:22:52] does not do damage.
[01:22:53] You have to like get in there and machine gun them with your Q.
[01:22:56] She's a weird character.
[01:22:59] She looks kind of exactly how I expected her to look actually.
[01:23:04] Yeah, she's a zonite if you're into the lore.
[01:23:08] Is this a summer skin?
[01:23:10] It looks good.
[01:23:11] Who's this person with the bow? Is that Ash?
[01:23:14] Probably, I don't know.
[01:23:15] I don't know what you're looking at.
[01:23:17] I'm looking at her skins.
[01:23:18] The splash art has another character in it.
[01:23:21] I can't tell that it's not saying.
[01:23:23] All right.
[01:23:24] With that, what are we playing next week?
[01:23:26] Uh, fuck, dude.
[01:23:29] Where's the list?
[01:23:30] I don't know.
[01:23:30] I put on the list that we should play the Warhammer
[01:23:34] gun game. I don't know what it's called.
[01:23:36] Oh, fuck. Night Tide, war tide.
[01:23:39] Damn.
[01:23:40] Paddle tide.
[01:23:41] We were going to play that, and we should have played
[01:23:43] exactly one match of my hero and then just only Smithers
[01:23:46] at the time playing that Warhammer game.
[01:23:49] It seems like it's going to take a wee bit.
[01:23:50] I mean, we don't got to finish it.
[01:23:52] And we just got to get a good taste.
[01:23:54] It's like it's just like vermin tide, right?
[01:23:56] I don't know.
[01:23:57] It started off differently.
[01:23:58] Like you had to make a character and answer
[01:24:00] like a fucking 20 question questionnaire about your zodiac sign.
[01:24:04] Yeah, this is the Morrowind question.
[01:24:06] You see an old man getting robbed on the road.
[01:24:08] What do you do?
[01:24:10] Push him down hard and rob him yourself.
[01:24:13] Stop the bandit or call for help.
[01:24:16] It's like, hmm, you sound like you're going to be
[01:24:18] a cross class warrior battle mage.
[01:24:20] I think you're like, no, I'm not.
[01:24:23] You fucking just do your own thing anyway.
[01:24:26] God, Morrowind is so weird.
[01:24:27] Oh, dude, I don't know if I saved it, but it was like
[01:24:31] a meme where it's like people really be out here
[01:24:33] retrofitting Fallout three and Morrowind
[01:24:37] and it showed like a screenshot of somebody trying to put
[01:24:40] Fallout three assets in Morrowind.
[01:24:42] Oh my God, did you see that?
[01:24:45] So the Spider-Man game came out and it has Miles Morales,
[01:24:48] who is like half black, half Puerto Rican, right?
[01:24:50] Yes, I saw the flag.
[01:24:52] So OK, so for the listener, yeah, so for the listener
[01:24:55] in you go into Miles Morales's room
[01:24:57] and there is a Puerto Rican flag on the wall,
[01:25:00] but it is not the Puerto Rican flag dear listener.
[01:25:02] It is the Cuban flag.
[01:25:05] Which do you have you seen them side by side, Philip?
[01:25:07] Yeah, I saw the yeah, they look the same to me.
[01:25:10] They're the exact same flag, just inverted.
[01:25:12] Inverted. So there is a red on the on the Cuban flag.
[01:25:16] There's a red triangle and blue stripes
[01:25:18] and on the Puerto Rican flag, there is a blue triangle
[01:25:20] with red stripes.
[01:25:21] It was only an exact same design.
[01:25:23] That was supposed to get like the art for that
[01:25:25] and he totally goofed it.
[01:25:27] No, you know what I think happened?
[01:25:28] I'm being serious right now.
[01:25:29] I'm pretty sure that because this is super simple.
[01:25:32] It's like Puerto Rican flag, right?
[01:25:34] And then there will be a million things, right?
[01:25:36] So I what I think happened is that someone knew
[01:25:39] that the flags looked exactly the same and they were like,
[01:25:42] look, it's the wrong flag.
[01:25:44] It's a goofy joke.
[01:25:45] And then they forgot.
[01:25:47] No, or what if it's sabotage?
[01:25:48] Just trying to drum up more controversy around the game.
[01:25:52] You know, no news is bad news or good news
[01:25:54] or all news is good publicity or whatever the saying is.
[01:25:59] I mean, it goes hand in hand with the fucking Latinx stuff
[01:26:02] with Bungie, you know, Bungie,
[01:26:03] because Bungie being a Sony studio now,
[01:26:06] that whole Latinx thing with the Twitter.
[01:26:08] Did I ever talk to you about that?
[01:26:09] I don't know about this.
[01:26:10] I don't keep up with the news.
[01:26:12] It wasn't really news, but they made this lat.
[01:26:14] They made a thing and they put it was like something is like
[01:26:17] the Latina slash O slash X slash E slash Y
[01:26:22] and they had a bunch of slashes in there.
[01:26:23] And then.
[01:26:26] So on Twitter, you can hide comments,
[01:26:27] but then it puts a little mark on your tweet
[01:26:30] that shows that you have been hiding comments
[01:26:32] where we can click on it and see what the comments were.
[01:26:36] And so I think there were more hidden comments
[01:26:39] than not hidden comments like legitimately.
[01:26:42] And and I've never seen this before either.
[01:26:46] But so on Twitter, you can have community notes, right?
[01:26:49] Where people can add a note of context or whatever
[01:26:53] onto your tweet and links to things, all kinds of things,
[01:26:55] you know, just to fight misinformation and whatever.
[01:26:57] Well, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:26:58] I didn't know that they could like I didn't.
[01:27:01] So I think Bungie was removing the community notes somehow.
[01:27:05] But and then people kept adding more community notes.
[01:27:08] So I saw the tweet on like eight different days
[01:27:12] each day, having different community notes.
[01:27:14] Like I would every time because it was big news for like a week.
[01:27:17] And every time I would see it pop back up on my feed,
[01:27:19] there'd be more community notes.
[01:27:20] I'm like, holy shit, what the fuck is going on?
[01:27:24] Who was fighting this?
[01:27:25] Were these like anti Latin people or these pro-Latin people
[01:27:28] that didn't like how they were responding?
[01:27:30] Like, what's the what's the argument?
[01:27:32] Oh, so I OK.
[01:27:33] So a lot of people, a lot of Latino people
[01:27:38] seem to view Latin X as a slur.
[01:27:41] It's they view it as white colonialization
[01:27:45] of the Spanish language, if that makes sense.
[01:27:49] Like they like they think about it as.
[01:27:52] OK, so Spanish is a gendered language.
[01:27:55] That's what this all comes down to.
[01:27:57] Do you even know what Latin X is? Not really.
[01:27:59] OK, that's OK.
[01:28:01] There is. So yeah, Latin X is like the gender neutral way to say.
[01:28:05] Oh, Latino and Latin S.
[01:28:07] Yeah, say Latin S.
[01:28:09] God, I got an accent.
[01:28:11] What? So yeah.
[01:28:14] So Latin X is like the gender neutral version of that.
[01:28:18] And then a lot of Latinos are seeing that and going,
[01:28:22] we don't fix our language.
[01:28:24] Like keep your shit over there, like in America and stuff.
[01:28:28] And this blows up on the Internet because a lot of American Twitter.
[01:28:32] I don't know if you know this about Twitter, but all of like the regional areas
[01:28:37] are kind of like in bubbles.
[01:28:38] So this tweet from Bungie, the Latin X tweet,
[01:28:41] somehow broke through the America bubble into the Central America,
[01:28:46] the Latin America countries.
[01:28:49] And then there were just bunches of fucking like
[01:28:52] there was just a bombardment of tweets against this one tweet.
[01:28:57] And of course, nothing changes because it's Twitter and Twitter is not real life.
[01:29:00] It is funny though.
[01:29:01] It was very funny.
[01:29:02] And it is even more funny because of this Cuba Puerto Rico thing.
[01:29:07] All right. And with that, thanks for joining us this week, co partners.
[01:29:11] Maybe next time we can all be heroes together or fight cancer.
[01:29:16] Yeah, get our get never run.
[01:29:19] Goodbye. Bye.
