[00:00:00] Hey everybody! On this episode of Gaming and Collecting, we are once again ending the year with our year-end anime rundown, where we go over all the shows we watch during the year and answer some fun questions. And once again, we are joined by Matt from Geek Addicts and Slade from Driveway Studios. Once again guys, on with the episode.

[00:00:38] So, how you guys been?

[00:00:42] It's been another year.

[00:00:44] It's another year, more anime.

[00:00:46] Woo!

[00:00:48] Fucking weebs in here.

[00:00:49] Oh yeah.

[00:00:51] All the flippy weebs came out of the weeb hole.

[00:00:54] Here they are.

[00:00:55] Into your hair hole.

[00:00:56] Sounds dirty.

[00:00:59] Oh boy.

[00:01:00] So, once again guys, for the final episode of GNC this year, final episode of Season 4, we decided we were going to bring back the anime roundtable, at least part of it, for another year-end anime rundown.

[00:01:15] Yeah, so we're probably going to hop right into this one because I have a feeling this is going to go longer than the usual episode.

[00:01:22] What do you mean?

[00:01:24] What are you trying to say?

[00:01:27] I'm just saying we're talking anime and that always goes long.

[00:01:30] So, I guess so.

[00:01:32] But, yeah, so we got the same core group. We got obviously of course me and Alex once again.

[00:01:37] We got my fellow co-host.

[00:01:39] Alex and I.

[00:01:42] I didn't go to college, so.

[00:01:45] My fellow co-host over at Geek Addicts, Matt. How you doing, Matt?

[00:01:49] Oh, another day.

[00:01:50] Another day.

[00:01:52] Another year.

[00:01:52] Yep.

[00:01:54] And returning this year from, it's Driveway Studios now, right?

[00:01:58] Yes.

[00:01:58] Driveway Studios.

[00:01:59] Hi, I'm Slade.

[00:02:00] You can find me everywhere at Slade Plays Games.

[00:02:02] So, I guess because of the new change, like what's going on with that?

[00:02:10] So, to keep it from being really short, I started doing a sideshow at the old GCP called Driveway Beards where me and my friend Will, we sit near this room.

[00:02:20] It's supposed to be like you and your buddy hanging out talking at a bar.

[00:02:23] Because of something said that probably in hindsight should have been censored.

[00:02:26] It caused a little small fight.

[00:02:29] And I ended up leaving and then starting my own thing, which has been way less stressful to not, you know, have to worry about reviewing a game every two weeks or making like the thousand other shows I was doing for them.

[00:02:39] And just cut back to one.

[00:02:41] Yeah, that's been really nice.

[00:02:45] You cut back to one, I do three now.

[00:02:47] Yeah, exactly.

[00:02:48] Exactly.

[00:02:48] Because, I mean, I was doing the, like, the DLC show they had.

[00:02:51] The, well, y'all were on the Between Two Pods thing and then doing the mainline stuff as well.

[00:02:55] Plus all the editing and everything.

[00:02:58] It just, it adds up so much.

[00:03:00] Too much.

[00:03:00] Yeah.

[00:03:01] Well, I've been liking what you've been doing so far, so.

[00:03:05] Like I said, we're trying to figure out a way to have guests at the moment.

[00:03:08] I was thinking about calling like open mic night or the bar, like calling it that and then, you know, have some people on.

[00:03:14] There's no topic.

[00:03:15] It's just a general chat show.

[00:03:17] So.

[00:03:17] Nice.

[00:03:18] It's a lot of fun.

[00:03:19] Open mic night.

[00:03:20] That's a good mic night.

[00:03:21] That would also be good.

[00:03:22] Yes.

[00:03:25] Perfect.

[00:03:26] So, I guess we'll hop in now to the discussion.

[00:03:29] So, we kind of made the same rule.

[00:03:31] We were going to do a recap of all the shows we watched this year.

[00:03:36] Which, the fun part about doing this for GNC is, rules are, there really aren't any rules.

[00:03:43] Everybody knows how they wanted to interpret the basics.

[00:03:47] What is this?

[00:03:47] What is this, Dragon Ball Evolution?

[00:03:49] We don't have rules here.

[00:03:51] Let's take the rules at GNC.

[00:03:53] So, kind of, because when we were doing the planning, you guys kept asking questions.

[00:03:57] I was like, you know what?

[00:03:58] Do what you want.

[00:03:59] We'll see how it goes.

[00:04:01] Questions.

[00:04:03] So, I'm sure we're all going to have very liberal interpretations of what counts as an entry for our lists.

[00:04:09] I'm sure I do.

[00:04:11] I know some of us counted rewatches, some of us didn't.

[00:04:15] Yeah.

[00:04:16] So, we'll kind of go down the list.

[00:04:17] We're going to go kind of in a clockwise motion.

[00:04:20] So, we're going to start with me, go to Alex, then Matt, and then Slade.

[00:04:24] And we'll go down our lists, and then we have a fun Q&A portion and some general discussion.

[00:04:29] So, I guess to start off the year.

[00:04:35] So, my list is very, like, weird because I started off, like, kind of strong and then just took this massive, like, lull throughout most of the year because one of my shows took me a very long time to get through.

[00:04:45] And then most of my watching was literally within the last, like, four months of the year.

[00:04:49] So, classic me doing it wrong.

[00:04:53] But that's what sets the point.

[00:04:55] So, for this year, my watch list was I started off the year finishing up Spy Family Season 2.

[00:05:03] I also finished Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, got depressed.

[00:05:08] I watched My Happy Marriage.

[00:05:11] Then, me and Alex went to the movies and we saw Spy Family Code White.

[00:05:15] I followed that up with watching Sandland the series.

[00:05:19] Then, The Dangers in My Heart.

[00:05:22] Followed by ZOM 100, Bucket List of the Dead.

[00:05:24] You might notice a lot of anime swaps or three anime movies going through this list.

[00:05:29] Then I did a double header of watching Kimi-ni Tadokke from Me to You Season 1 and 2.

[00:05:35] And then my progress hit a brick wall when I tried to watch Hironi Kenshin 1996.

[00:05:41] I got through Seasons 1 and 2.

[00:05:43] It was going great.

[00:05:44] Got to Season 3 and was like, this sucks.

[00:05:47] And got stuck there for probably four months.

[00:05:50] Finally finished that.

[00:05:51] Watched the Samurai X special, which is just the final episode of the anime.

[00:05:55] I watched the Trust and Betrayal OVA.

[00:05:57] And then I watched the Reflections OVA.

[00:06:00] Followed that up by watching the Dangers in My Heart special,

[00:06:02] which is just basically all of the little in-between chapters animated.

[00:06:07] I followed that up by Kimi-ni Tadokke Season 3.

[00:06:11] Then watched Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1 and 2.

[00:06:16] Then I watched...

[00:06:17] I wonder why.

[00:06:18] Yeah, I wonder.

[00:06:20] Then I watched The Girl from the Other Side on the three parts.

[00:06:27] Followed by The Boy and the Heron.

[00:06:29] Suzume.

[00:06:29] And Drifting Home.

[00:06:31] Then followed it up with The Dangers in My Heart Season 2.

[00:06:35] Then Baccano.

[00:06:36] The Baccano Specials.

[00:06:38] Then I finished Record of Ragnarok, a show I watched four episodes of

[00:06:41] and then sat on for like a year and a half.

[00:06:44] Then I finally finished my rewatch of Full Metal Panic.

[00:06:48] Last time I watched that was back in the mid-2000s,

[00:06:50] so I considered this a new watch.

[00:06:53] Finished Mob Psycho 100.

[00:06:54] That was like one of the first anime swaps.

[00:06:56] I finally finished that.

[00:06:58] Then I watched Flying Witch.

[00:07:00] Followed that up with Kaiju number 8.

[00:07:03] Then I watched That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,

[00:07:06] the visions of...

[00:07:07] I'm gonna butcher this.

[00:07:09] Coleus, which was a three-episode OVA.

[00:07:12] Then I watched Relife and then Relife the final arc.

[00:07:16] Followed that up by watching That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3,

[00:07:20] which I watched progressively as it came out.

[00:07:24] So that one took me basically all year to watch.

[00:07:27] Then I endured Italia Axis Powers, the first season.

[00:07:33] Followed that up by watching The Ice Guy and his cool female colleague.

[00:07:38] Then I watched Solo Leveling.

[00:07:40] Followed that up with My Happy Marriage, The Shape of Happiness OVA.

[00:07:45] Then I watched Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wander the Dungeon.

[00:07:48] Yes!

[00:07:49] What an experience that was.

[00:07:52] Then I watched the Tales of Vesperia prequel film, The First Strike.

[00:07:58] Then I went on a fucking Konosuba binge and watched Konosuba, God's Blessing on This Wonderful World.

[00:08:03] I was about to say, I saw that on any list and I was like, yes!

[00:08:06] Bill's finally taking the dive!

[00:08:08] So I watched season one of that, the season one OVA, season two, the season two OVA, the movie Legend of Crimson, season three.

[00:08:18] So yeah, I went through a lot of Konosuba.

[00:08:21] Then I watched Oshinoko season two, finally.

[00:08:25] Followed that up by watching Solo Leveling, Reawakening, the film.

[00:08:32] Show!

[00:08:33] I didn't hate it, I'm just saying it was, calling that a movie was a stretch.

[00:08:38] And then I finished up the year by watching Konosuba and Explosion on This Wonderful World, the spinoff series.

[00:08:45] And I am currently watching Dawn to Dawn, the final episode doesn't air until Thursday or Friday, whatever it is.

[00:08:53] So I'll finish that tomorrow.

[00:08:55] I just was under 50 entries, but you know, 49, I'm kind of proud I even got that high.

[00:09:00] Okay, that was my list.

[00:09:02] Alex, begin.

[00:09:05] Alright.

[00:09:06] Everyone needs to take a bathroom break now is the time.

[00:09:10] Alright, so I started the year finishing Doctor Stone New World, part two.

[00:09:15] Then I watched Kiyo Kara Mao, season one.

[00:09:19] Then I watched Spy Family, season two.

[00:09:21] Then I went back and re-watched Spy Family, season one, part one and two.

[00:13:23] Let's go!

[00:13:25] So I have to ask Alex.

[00:13:27] Do you sometimes just hit the random button to see what comes up?

[00:13:31] Yes.

[00:13:33] I think my throat hurts for you.

[00:13:36] That was a lot of words.

[00:13:38] It's yeah.

[00:13:39] I like the idea of somebody stumbling across this who has no idea what anime is and they're

[00:13:42] just like, is she having a stroke?

[00:13:43] What are we doing?

[00:13:45] We're all just sitting here watching intently like it.

[00:13:48] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:13:49] I love the ones with like the very long titles where it's just like, where is this going?

[00:13:53] Yeah, exactly.

[00:13:55] Honestly, some of those are like the funniest ones too.

[00:13:58] That's why I would pick them because they had an absurd title.

[00:14:00] I was like, why not?

[00:14:02] Well, sometimes you do scroll through and you're just like, what the fuck is this?

[00:14:05] I have to watch it now.

[00:14:06] Yeah.

[00:14:08] All right.

[00:14:09] So.

[00:14:11] I'm at 49.

[00:14:12] Alex is at 115.

[00:14:14] Yes.

[00:14:14] Okay.

[00:14:15] Keep track.

[00:14:16] So.

[00:14:18] I.

[00:14:20] I have actual paper.

[00:14:22] Oh, wow.

[00:14:23] Ooh.

[00:14:25] Going analog here.

[00:14:28] So I didn't split up by like seasons unless it's like a new season and I'm just catching

[00:14:32] up.

[00:14:33] So my list is going to seem significantly shorter than y'all's.

[00:14:37] So for new shows, I watched My Happy Marriage, Attack on Titan Final Chapters.

[00:14:44] Yes.

[00:14:45] One Piece from Dressrosa all the way through Wano.

[00:14:50] Nice.

[00:14:51] JJK Season 2.

[00:14:53] Kenshin Remake Season 1.

[00:15:11] Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wanted the Dungeon.

[00:15:14] All of Hitalia.

[00:15:17] Dura-ra-ra 2.

[00:15:19] Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro.

[00:15:22] I don't have exact numbers but I watched A Fair Amount of Boruto.

[00:15:39] Neon Genesis Evangelion.

[00:15:40] Hell's Paradise.

[00:15:42] Code Geass.

[00:16:34] Nice.

[00:16:35] Nice.

[00:16:35] Nice.

[00:16:37] I'm going to start with my rewatches first, there's not many, but under it we have Girls in Panzer, My Dress Up Darling, Girls in Panzer, Dare Film, Bochy the Rock, and Girls Last Tour.

[00:16:50] And then just everything else is here.

[00:16:52] It's only 33 so I didn't watch as much as I thought I did.

[00:16:56] But life has been busy and hectic so I haven't had as much time to do all of it.

[00:17:01] So, 8686, Alya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian, Attack on Titan, the final season part four, Campfire Cooking in Another World, Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2, Dandadan, Handyman Saito in Another World, Hideko Gals are super adorable, JJK Season 2, Kanesuba Season 3, My Hero Academia Season 7, My Dear Friend Nokatan.

[00:17:30] Oshinoko Season 2, the film Red Line, which that's the animated, apparently there's like nine films all named Red Line, this is the animated one specifically.

[00:17:38] Okay.

[00:17:41] Rising of the Shield Heroes Season 3, Eminence in the Shadows Season 1, The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really Love You, The Dangerous in My Heart Season 2, You Are Miss Servant, Free Ren, Beyond Journey's End, Pseudo Harem.

[00:17:57] And then that, let's see, Look Back, the film, just because the English dub is now easily available, started Rascal Does Not Dream of Funny Girl Senpai.

[00:18:09] Attack on Titan, Lost Girls, the film Millennium Actress, the film Jinro, Wolf Brigade, Attack on Titan, No Regrets, and Mon Kien, Too Many Losing Heroines.

[00:18:22] Nice.

[00:18:24] Oh, man.

[00:18:25] That's funny, you brought up, um, you brought up Bunny, you brought up Bunny Girl, and, uh, I'm sitting here going, like, sitting, with the second you mentioned that dub is easily available, I'm just sitting here going, fucking Annie Plex.

[00:18:36] No, I know, I know, it's finally like our Crunchyroll, and I'm like, oh, cool, great, now we can sit down and watch it.

[00:18:41] Annie Plex is the reason why Kimi no Tidoki took 10 fucking years to get a dub.

[00:18:45] You know what's weird, though, is that the movies have, like, an easily accessible dub, but the main, like, 12 episodes don't.

[00:18:53] Yeah, dumb.

[00:18:54] Dumb people.

[00:18:56] Annie Plex.

[00:18:58] That's all I can say.

[00:18:59] Tell me about it.

[00:19:01] Alex, before we start jumping into, like, all the discussion stuff, I, yesterday, just for shits and giggles, I listened to Last Year's.

[00:19:10] Oh.

[00:19:12] And I got a bone to pick with the barbers.

[00:19:15] Oh, what happened?

[00:19:16] Oh, yay, yay.

[00:19:18] I didn't watch Dragon Ball, I'm sorry.

[00:19:21] Yeah, uh, who's, who's Corrin again?

[00:19:25] Oh, right, right.

[00:19:27] Bill.

[00:19:29] And Bill, see, you, you promised Dragon Ball Z, and Bill over here, he promised Attack on Titan.

[00:19:35] I don't know how you're talking about.

[00:19:36] Bill, Bill did promise Attack on Titan.

[00:19:38] Both of you used that specific word.

[00:19:41] See, Slade said he would put Death Bray on the list.

[00:19:44] He didn't promise, so I don't know if I wanted to pick with him.

[00:19:47] No, I didn't.

[00:19:47] And then I got reminded of Death Parade, like, probably two weeks ago.

[00:19:50] And I'm like, well, not enough time to want to get started and dive in.

[00:19:53] Well, I was going for quantity over, like, going for quantity.

[00:19:59] I wanted to win, even though there's no competition.

[00:20:03] What winning?

[00:20:04] I was pretty sure you won.

[00:20:06] I wasted the most amount of time.

[00:20:08] Oh, no, Alex, Alex won.

[00:20:10] She stopped the competition here.

[00:20:12] And you know what, Alex?

[00:20:13] I could have given you a run for your money, but I put time into one piece, and I did that for you.

[00:20:18] Hey, I watched that as well.

[00:20:22] I was watching that, too.

[00:20:24] I'm surprised nobody noticed the fact that I just kind of quietly changed the Bill will watch Attack on Titan group chat into the GNC anime chat.

[00:20:33] No, I noticed.

[00:20:34] I noticed.

[00:20:35] And I was just like, no one will see that.

[00:20:37] That never happened.

[00:20:40] I don't promise I'll watch Dragon Ball next year.

[00:20:43] I'm a single.

[00:20:45] I'm not promising anything this time, because I know it'll happen.

[00:20:48] Wait, do you see her as the box blocking her?

[00:20:51] I think the box is blocking her.

[00:20:53] No!

[00:20:54] That's such a tragedy.

[00:20:55] She's sitting right there.

[00:20:56] I've been seeing her going back and forth the whole time.

[00:20:59] Yeah, she's been wandering around.

[00:21:01] What I found, just some observations from everyone's lists.

[00:21:05] One thing I found very entertaining was the fact that a lot of Matt's list is just stuff that was on all three of our lists last year.

[00:21:12] It's the same thing as last year, because last year I just watched a bunch of stuff from the Fight Club.

[00:21:15] Yeah, I'm going to say Matt's award this year is the Good Noodle Award.

[00:21:18] He actually went and watched.

[00:21:21] See, I listen, guys.

[00:21:23] Yeah, exactly.

[00:21:23] The Good Listener Award is what you're getting at.

[00:21:26] All right.

[00:21:26] I didn't listen.

[00:21:28] Yeah.

[00:21:29] I mean, Alex listened.

[00:21:30] She just decided to watch everything.

[00:21:32] Yeah, exactly.

[00:21:33] And Slade really sold that vending machine show.

[00:21:36] I did.

[00:21:36] I can't believe so many people.

[00:21:38] Oh, it's so good.

[00:21:39] So good.

[00:21:40] I'm staring.

[00:21:42] Well, before we get into it, I have to talk about that one because it doesn't come up in any of my questions.

[00:21:46] But I have to say that show, like watching the first episode, my whole thought process was like, this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

[00:21:54] But then you get the episode two and you're like, why am I so compelled to see where it goes?

[00:21:57] Oh, I know.

[00:21:58] I know.

[00:21:58] Like I said last year, I believe me and my friend's wife, she's also a big weeb.

[00:22:03] And we picked that one as a joke.

[00:22:05] And that ended up being like our favorite thing of that season.

[00:22:09] Someone has to save that vending machine.

[00:22:11] It's getting to season two.

[00:22:13] It's getting to season two.

[00:22:14] I can't wait.

[00:22:15] I find it really funny that.

[00:22:17] So, like, I'm not a huge isekai guy in general, but I find it really funny that, like, my favorite isekais are the ones that just make fun of how dumb isekais are.

[00:22:25] Yes, yes.

[00:22:26] Like, Konosuba to me is, like, the perfect isekai because it literally just is, like, isekais are fucking stupid.

[00:22:32] Let's make an entire party that just sucks at everything they do and just see how it goes.

[00:22:38] Oh, boy.

[00:22:39] But, yeah.

[00:22:41] So, that was fun.

[00:22:42] Alex wanted to win and she did, very convincingly.

[00:22:47] And most of it was new.

[00:22:49] I only rewatched, I think I only rewatched, like, 15.

[00:22:53] So, out of the hundred, it was a hundred different things.

[00:22:57] So, I wish I had that time.

[00:23:00] I didn't.

[00:23:01] Alex is, like, a machine that can just do it.

[00:23:03] Yeah.

[00:23:03] I was just like, let's go.

[00:23:05] Well, I didn't really watch much other stuff besides that this year, which is probably why I'm losing my sanity, but it's fine.

[00:23:13] It was a sacrifice that was willing to be made.

[00:23:16] But I did find a lot of, like, hidden gems.

[00:23:18] So, that's fair.

[00:23:20] In my defense, I did spend a lot of the year watching all of the MCU.

[00:23:23] So, that took up a lot of time.

[00:23:26] I read a lot of manga this year.

[00:23:28] That was kind of my goal.

[00:23:29] Like, I'm trying to do more manga.

[00:23:30] Like, I'm going to kind of 50-50 split.

[00:23:32] I might share some of that towards the end of the episode.

[00:23:35] I was going to ask about that as well.

[00:23:37] I was about to say, mine was planning a proposal and now a wedding.

[00:23:40] So, that eats a lot of time.

[00:23:42] That's a valid excuse.

[00:23:45] I also have these two other podcasts that I may or may not do.

[00:23:49] Well, I got her now watching My Hero Academia.

[00:23:52] I think she's on season two right now.

[00:23:53] Oh, nice.

[00:23:54] She's like somebody who's never watched anime before.

[00:23:56] And I think I talked about this last year.

[00:23:58] Probably.

[00:23:59] I broke her because the first show I made her watch was Attack on Titan.

[00:24:02] So, I feel like I set the bar too high.

[00:24:06] That would be one piece.

[00:24:09] Nah.

[00:24:10] Yes.

[00:24:12] Eventually.

[00:24:13] That's like making someone's first show Jujutsu Kaisen.

[00:24:15] It's like, oh, you're just going to make them hate anime.

[00:24:19] It's like, we're going to emotionally break you for this first.

[00:24:22] It's like, oh, you love these characters?

[00:24:24] Well, I hate to tell you, unless you like the girl with blue hair, you're going to have

[00:24:27] a very sad time.

[00:24:29] Yeah.

[00:24:30] The useless one.

[00:24:31] No, I forgot to mention Daima.

[00:24:33] I'm also up to date with Daima.

[00:24:35] Nice.

[00:24:36] Nice.

[00:24:38] Nice.

[00:24:39] Anyways, so let's start off the questions.

[00:24:43] We got 10 questions this year.

[00:24:45] Easy enough.

[00:24:46] Pretty much the same questions from last year.

[00:24:48] I added a few newer ones.

[00:24:49] So, a little more variety.

[00:24:52] But, so we'll do the same order.

[00:24:54] I'll go first and then we'll go around the group.

[00:24:56] Question number one was, what was our favorite show of the year?

[00:25:01] And this one was hard.

[00:25:03] Like, this was like the second hardest question.

[00:25:06] I'll get to the hardest one later.

[00:25:09] For me, it was actually Kimi ni Tidoki from Me To You season three.

[00:25:15] Just because this, so I, it partially has to do with AI.

[00:25:20] I went on the journey of collecting the entire manga recently.

[00:25:23] All 30 volumes.

[00:25:24] Am I alive?

[00:25:25] Yep.

[00:25:26] Yeah.

[00:25:27] You were gone?

[00:25:28] Everything just like, everything just like, screwed up for like 30 seconds and now you

[00:25:32] were frozen or loading.

[00:25:33] Oh no.

[00:25:34] You're here.

[00:25:35] All good.

[00:25:36] I thought you were there the whole time.

[00:25:38] I thought I was so boring.

[00:25:40] I thought I was so boring that I was like, are we dead?

[00:25:43] No, I got, I got little snippets of robot voice and that was it.

[00:25:47] Oh no.

[00:25:48] Well, thankfully my end's the record again, so we shouldn't be all right.

[00:25:52] But I was saying though, like, so I went on the whole journey of trying to collect all

[00:25:57] of that manga, which is a 30 volume manga.

[00:26:00] It wasn't too bad up until I got to around volume 26 where I realized this has been out

[00:26:06] of stock, like out of print for a while.

[00:26:09] And volumes 26, 29 and 30 have not been reprinted in like four years.

[00:26:15] Oh.

[00:26:15] So I spent like retail price on everything.

[00:26:18] I got lucky as hell and found a reprint because 26 just got a reprint of that in like a Newbery

[00:26:24] comics.

[00:26:24] And I was like, oh, hell yeah.

[00:26:26] And then I paid a hundred dollars for a double of a double like eBay lot that had 29 and 30

[00:26:34] because I was going to wait for a reprint, but it still hasn't happened.

[00:26:37] And I wanted to finish that series.

[00:26:39] The collection.

[00:26:40] Right.

[00:26:40] Well, because Kimi ni Tadokai is an interesting series.

[00:26:44] It's very, I've been on like a slice of life kind of kick as of late.

[00:26:48] And I wanted one that was more wholesome and less drama ish.

[00:26:53] And that one had always kind of stuck out to me, but because Annie flexes Annie flex, it

[00:26:57] had been undubbed for literally like a decade on Netflix.

[00:27:02] And when I saw it was getting a season three, I was like, oh, that's cool.

[00:27:05] Too bad it won't ever get dubbed.

[00:27:07] And then surprise, surprise.

[00:27:08] It got a tub.

[00:27:09] And this was before Netflix was like, like piecing out dubs and they just decided to wholesale

[00:27:14] just dump them all at once.

[00:27:16] And I was like, well, I guess I know what I'm watching now.

[00:27:19] It's a cute show.

[00:27:20] It's very fruit basket.

[00:27:21] See without the transformations and supernatural aspect.

[00:27:27] It's a little sad at points, but not because of the same reasons.

[00:27:31] But season three, season three was very interesting to me because season three was kind of like

[00:27:36] an interesting because a lot of these like slice of life's like to end right after the couple

[00:27:40] gets together.

[00:27:41] And then they're like, yeah, screw the rest of the manga.

[00:27:42] No one cares about that.

[00:27:44] I'm looking at you, Kaguya-sama.

[00:27:47] Anyways, so season three actually takes place right after that.

[00:27:50] And they did it in a very interesting way where it was only five episodes long, but every

[00:27:55] episode was like an hour and a half.

[00:27:57] So it was like, okay, that's fine.

[00:27:59] It's basically the same length as a 12-er.

[00:28:04] And I just was like, wow, this was like extra wholesome.

[00:28:06] And I really enjoyed watching it.

[00:28:08] So that was honestly my favorite of the year.

[00:28:10] Like that was the one I looked back on the fondest.

[00:28:13] All right.

[00:28:14] So Alex.

[00:28:17] My favorite show of the year was Kaiju number eight.

[00:28:20] I watched it three times.

[00:28:22] I literally watched it and then said, I really like this.

[00:28:24] So I'm going to watch it again.

[00:28:26] And then I was like, Bill did the rewatch.

[00:28:29] Well, we did it for an anime swap.

[00:28:30] And I was like, oh, I'll just refresh on it.

[00:28:33] I watched it a third time.

[00:28:35] I don't know.

[00:28:36] I just like, it was really fun.

[00:28:38] I really loved all the characters.

[00:28:41] It had a good mix of comedy with like serious elements, which is right up my alley as well.

[00:28:45] It's basically just a more comedic Attack on Titan.

[00:28:48] Which is, it was a funny comparison.

[00:28:50] But yeah.

[00:28:50] Which is ironic that I got into that one.

[00:28:54] And I told him he should watch Attack on Titan.

[00:28:57] Love the intro.

[00:28:58] You should.

[00:28:59] You should build.

[00:29:01] One of my, I love all the characters.

[00:29:03] I don't know.

[00:29:03] I just like really liked it.

[00:29:04] I bought all the manga.

[00:29:06] As soon as I finished, I was like, all right, I need to keep reading.

[00:29:08] I need to know what else is going to happen now.

[00:29:11] And I'm caught up with all the volumes that I have.

[00:29:13] So, and I'm excited where it's going.

[00:29:15] So, yeah.

[00:29:17] Can't wait for season two.

[00:29:19] And Hoshina's Day Off.

[00:29:20] Whatever that OVA is going to be.

[00:29:22] But I can't wait for it because he's my favorite character.

[00:29:27] Nice.

[00:29:29] Matt, what was your favorite series you watched this year?

[00:29:31] Well, the easy answer would be Dima.

[00:29:34] But because that's still ongoing.

[00:29:35] And that's kind of just a cheap answer.

[00:29:37] I'm going to say Undead Unluck.

[00:29:40] Nice.

[00:29:41] Because that show was just like, I had zero expectations for this.

[00:29:45] I just kind of watched it on a whim.

[00:29:46] And like, I was really shocked by how much I really enjoyed it.

[00:29:49] The characters were all like super off the wall extra.

[00:29:53] But I loved every second of it.

[00:29:55] And the power system was, it seems really simple at first glance.

[00:29:59] But the way they use their powers is so creative and interesting.

[00:30:03] And then like all of a sudden the show gets meta for no reason.

[00:30:06] And it's kind of awesome the way it does it.

[00:30:08] Like, I'm really excited for a season two.

[00:30:11] It did just get confirmed.

[00:30:12] I just saw that.

[00:30:14] That's one that's been on my radar.

[00:30:15] But I just haven't like picked it up yet.

[00:30:17] Mainly that intro sequence with the, I don't even know her name.

[00:30:20] But the girl being like, well, that's the end of my favorite manga.

[00:30:23] Jamming on the train tracks now.

[00:30:25] And I'm like, well, this is just wacky.

[00:30:27] What are we doing?

[00:30:29] Dude is just so unhinged.

[00:30:30] And I love it.

[00:30:31] He's my favorite character.

[00:30:33] I want to get, I want to figure out him so badly.

[00:30:35] But I have not been able to find one.

[00:30:37] So as soon as I find one, I'm going to get it.

[00:30:39] But yeah.

[00:30:40] Andy, that's his name.

[00:30:41] Andy.

[00:30:41] Yes.

[00:30:42] Yeah.

[00:30:43] He's awesome.

[00:30:45] And Slade, what was your favorite show of the year?

[00:30:47] It's, I don't even want to say this is recency bias.

[00:30:50] Because I've been looking forward to it so much.

[00:30:51] But Oshinoko season two.

[00:30:53] Every episode.

[00:30:55] I would just like, Oshinoko day.

[00:30:57] I'm avoiding the internet until I go home for lunch and watch the episode.

[00:31:00] I'm not talking to anybody.

[00:31:03] Dude.

[00:31:04] Having to avoid anything related to Oshinoko.

[00:31:06] So we're going to have to for a while until I start reading the book.

[00:31:10] My problem is, and I won't do it for you, the ending got spoiled for me.

[00:31:15] The ending got spoiled for me.

[00:31:18] So I did not get 100% spoiled, but I kind of got the vibe of it.

[00:31:23] But I'm going to just live in ignorance until I eventually get there.

[00:31:27] Yeah.

[00:31:27] Yeah.

[00:31:28] That'd be for the best.

[00:31:29] But no.

[00:31:30] I mean, first of all, it's wacky watching an anime.

[00:31:36] Where they're putting on a play.

[00:31:38] It's just like weird kind of meta thing going on.

[00:31:42] It's like, I forgot what it was.

[00:31:44] It might have been like Nokatan.

[00:31:46] They were watching an anime and an anime.

[00:31:47] Just a quick pause.

[00:31:50] Have you seen it yet, Matt?

[00:31:51] Or.

[00:31:52] Okay.

[00:31:53] Maybe not go super spoiled.

[00:31:54] My wife is happy.

[00:31:55] My wife is halfway through season one.

[00:31:57] So I'm waiting for her.

[00:31:58] So we can watch it.

[00:31:58] I'm not going to go super spoilers in it.

[00:32:00] But yeah.

[00:32:01] Season two.

[00:32:02] Really good.

[00:32:03] I do like the way it dives into the work life culture.

[00:32:05] Of creatives.

[00:32:07] Is a lot of fun.

[00:32:08] And showing more of the gritty side.

[00:32:10] Than the actual like.

[00:32:11] Fun, happy bits.

[00:32:12] But like.

[00:32:13] Production wise.

[00:32:14] It's really good.

[00:32:15] Like.

[00:32:16] The continuing like whole theme.

[00:32:17] Like one of the reasons I really like Oshinoko.

[00:32:19] Just as a concept.

[00:32:20] Is the fact that.

[00:32:21] Its entire concept is basically taking the Japanese entertainment industry.

[00:32:25] And just basically being like.

[00:32:26] This is shit.

[00:32:27] Yeah.

[00:32:27] And here's why.

[00:32:31] Yeah.

[00:32:31] We'll hear more about.

[00:32:32] I guarantee we'll probably hear more about Oshinoko.

[00:32:34] In the future.

[00:32:35] Because it is one of the answers to one of my questions.

[00:32:38] But.

[00:32:40] Yeah.

[00:32:41] That was it.

[00:32:43] That.

[00:32:43] Watching that weekly.

[00:32:44] Well actually.

[00:32:45] I didn't watch it weekly.

[00:32:45] I waited until like.

[00:32:46] There was maybe like four episodes ago.

[00:32:47] And I binged up till those four.

[00:32:49] Yeah.

[00:32:49] And then I was like.

[00:32:50] Fuck.

[00:32:50] I should have waited until it was done.

[00:32:51] Because this wait is agony.

[00:32:54] Thankfully.

[00:32:55] Thankfully.

[00:32:55] It was like.

[00:32:55] I was on my lunch break.

[00:32:56] Every Friday.

[00:32:57] When it came out.

[00:32:58] So that's what I was doing.

[00:32:59] And if somebody came up to me.

[00:33:00] Like in my office.

[00:33:01] I'd be like.

[00:33:02] Shoo.

[00:33:02] Go away.

[00:33:03] I'm not.

[00:33:03] I'm not talking to you.

[00:33:04] The worst part was.

[00:33:06] Like I binged.

[00:33:07] I waited until like the last three episodes.

[00:33:09] Right.

[00:33:09] Where like all the fucking wham episodes are.

[00:33:11] And I was like.

[00:33:11] Why did I.

[00:33:12] Why?

[00:33:12] I did this the worst way possible.

[00:33:16] I binged it.

[00:33:16] And it was literally.

[00:33:17] When I started watching it.

[00:33:18] It was the week.

[00:33:19] The last episode came out.

[00:33:20] So I was just able to watch it.

[00:33:21] All the way through.

[00:33:22] And I was like.

[00:33:23] I was like.

[00:33:23] Oh.

[00:33:24] This is fun.

[00:33:24] And then.

[00:33:25] I was like.

[00:33:25] What the fuck?

[00:33:27] Yeah.

[00:33:28] So.

[00:33:28] No spoilers.

[00:33:29] But.

[00:33:30] That's how I felt.

[00:33:31] After watching it.

[00:33:32] It's not.

[00:33:33] It's not a spoiler.

[00:33:34] But Akane is the best girl.

[00:33:35] Akane is the best girl.

[00:33:36] Yeah.

[00:33:36] She is.

[00:33:37] Yeah.

[00:33:39] Excuse me.

[00:33:41] Now for question two.

[00:33:42] What was your favorite movie of the year?

[00:33:45] I hope we do better.

[00:33:47] Because I think last year.

[00:33:48] Wasn't this like.

[00:33:48] An odd question.

[00:33:49] Where like.

[00:33:49] Not everyone really had an answer.

[00:33:51] Yeah.

[00:33:51] Yeah.

[00:33:52] I think we all watched.

[00:33:53] I heard movies from everyone.

[00:33:55] Did we?

[00:33:56] I don't think we watched a ton of movies though.

[00:33:58] So it was kind of like.

[00:33:59] A bit of a struggle.

[00:34:01] It was a struggle.

[00:34:02] I should say this year.

[00:34:03] I went out of my way to watch more.

[00:34:06] That being said though.

[00:34:07] My favorite movie.

[00:34:08] This probably isn't too surprising.

[00:34:10] If you've seen previous GNC episodes.

[00:34:12] But my favorite movie of the year.

[00:34:13] Was easily Suzume.

[00:34:14] It's good.

[00:34:15] Suzume.

[00:34:16] Suzume.

[00:34:17] It's hilarious.

[00:34:18] Because your name is arguably still my favorite anime film.

[00:34:21] But like now I'm like in this weird like debate.

[00:34:23] Where I'm like.

[00:34:24] I can't tell if Suzume.

[00:34:25] Your name is better.

[00:34:26] Like they're both so freaking good.

[00:34:29] And I'm like.

[00:34:30] Kind of like.

[00:34:31] Like I don't know which one I like more.

[00:34:33] It depends on the day.

[00:34:34] But the story is great.

[00:34:35] I love the comedy.

[00:34:36] The character.

[00:34:37] The emotion.

[00:34:37] The drama.

[00:34:38] Like.

[00:34:39] Shinkai is arguably.

[00:34:41] I think becoming one of my favorite.

[00:34:43] Anime directors.

[00:34:44] Just in general.

[00:34:49] All right.

[00:34:49] Alex.

[00:34:50] What is your favorite movie of the year?

[00:34:51] Big surprise here.

[00:34:53] It was also Suzume.

[00:34:56] Most of the movies we watch are the same ones.

[00:34:58] But yeah.

[00:35:00] Agree.

[00:35:00] I have to say.

[00:35:01] I actually think I do like Suzume more than your name.

[00:35:04] I don't know why.

[00:35:05] I just really like the story of it.

[00:35:07] I love the chair.

[00:35:09] Chair man.

[00:35:10] Chair man.

[00:35:11] I just love the.

[00:35:12] I don't know.

[00:35:13] I think it's kind of like the absurdity of like.

[00:35:15] He just gets turned into a chair.

[00:35:16] And she's like.

[00:35:17] All right.

[00:35:17] Me and my.

[00:35:19] My chair boyfriend.

[00:35:20] Gotta travel.

[00:35:21] I love Suzume as a character.

[00:35:23] Just because she's so fucking adorable.

[00:35:25] Yep.

[00:35:25] The entire film.

[00:35:26] Her interactions with like all the side characters and stuff.

[00:35:30] Were just so enjoyable.

[00:35:31] Now she like.

[00:35:32] Went about her journey that way.

[00:35:34] I don't know.

[00:35:34] I just really enjoyed it.

[00:35:36] The scene of her in the back of the car.

[00:35:38] Just eating the sandwich.

[00:35:39] Is my favorite scene.

[00:35:40] Because she's so.

[00:35:41] She's so sassy about it.

[00:35:42] And I'm like.

[00:35:43] Yes.

[00:35:43] I love this.

[00:35:45] Yeah.

[00:35:46] All right.

[00:35:48] Matt.

[00:35:48] What was your favorite film?

[00:35:50] So I.

[00:35:50] I was kind of caught in the same toss up.

[00:35:52] But I think I still lean a little bit more.

[00:35:54] Your name than Suzume.

[00:35:56] Just because like.

[00:35:58] I don't know.

[00:35:58] Those are the first fishing guy movies I watched.

[00:36:00] And I watched the three like main ones this year.

[00:36:03] And.

[00:36:04] I don't know.

[00:36:05] It's just something about your name that I just.

[00:36:07] I really enjoy like the.

[00:36:08] The kind of twist take on the whole like.

[00:36:12] Freaky Friday body swap type movie.

[00:36:14] Oh.

[00:36:15] I just.

[00:36:16] I don't know.

[00:36:16] It just.

[00:36:16] It was a very touching story.

[00:36:17] And I really enjoyed it.

[00:36:20] Your name is also equally just as good.

[00:36:22] It is very good.

[00:36:23] Honestly.

[00:36:23] Weathering with you is probably the weakest of the three.

[00:36:26] And that's.

[00:36:27] I really like that one too though.

[00:36:28] That's not even a dig at Weathering with you.

[00:36:30] Weathering with you is just kind of like.

[00:36:32] I think to me.

[00:36:33] It's the more bleak ending of that one.

[00:36:35] Like.

[00:36:36] Like.

[00:36:37] Your name literally ends with like.

[00:36:39] They.

[00:36:39] They refound each other.

[00:36:41] Suzume ends with like.

[00:36:41] They saved each other.

[00:36:44] Weathering with you is like.

[00:36:44] We flooded Tokyo.

[00:36:47] Everyone's dead.

[00:36:48] No.

[00:36:50] Yeah.

[00:36:52] So Slade.

[00:36:53] What was your favorite movie?

[00:36:54] So I'm going to be the odd one out here.

[00:36:56] But.

[00:36:57] The mad lad genius himself.

[00:36:59] Tasky Fujimoto.

[00:36:59] The author of Chainsaw Man.

[00:37:01] His new movie.

[00:37:02] Look Back.

[00:37:03] I couldn't recommend it more.

[00:37:04] If you have an hour.

[00:37:05] It's on Amazon Prime.

[00:37:06] Subbed and dubbed.

[00:37:07] It's really good.

[00:37:09] It's obviously.

[00:37:10] It's a work of fiction.

[00:37:11] But a lot of it is based off.

[00:37:12] Of Fujimoto's life.

[00:37:14] Growing up.

[00:37:14] Wanting to be like a mangaka.

[00:37:15] And you know.

[00:37:16] Drawing in school.

[00:37:17] And how he was treated.

[00:37:18] Stuff like that.

[00:37:19] It's told from the perspective.

[00:37:20] Of two different characters.

[00:37:22] One of them decides that.

[00:37:24] One day she doesn't want to.

[00:37:26] Draw anymore.

[00:37:26] And the other one is a shut in.

[00:37:27] Who still wants to do it.

[00:37:30] And it's.

[00:37:30] It's an interesting story.

[00:37:32] I'm going to have to add that one.

[00:37:33] To the list.

[00:37:34] Yeah.

[00:37:35] You'll add that.

[00:37:35] But not attack on Titan.

[00:37:37] I see.

[00:37:37] I see how it is.

[00:37:38] I'll keep it.

[00:37:41] One is a movie.

[00:37:43] And the other is long.

[00:37:45] It's not that long.

[00:37:47] I'm.

[00:37:47] Yeah.

[00:37:48] Technically.

[00:37:49] Technically.

[00:37:49] It's shorter than you.

[00:37:50] Haka show.

[00:37:52] That's true.

[00:37:53] And I'm also asking less of you than Alex's.

[00:37:54] Because she's trying to get you to watch One Piece.

[00:37:56] Right?

[00:37:57] Way less episodes.

[00:37:58] No.

[00:37:58] I've given up on that.

[00:38:01] She's better off getting me to watch either the new version.

[00:38:04] That's what I'm going to push for him to watch the new one.

[00:38:06] That's.

[00:38:07] That's the one I'm going to give an attempt to.

[00:38:09] Yay.

[00:38:10] Or the live action.

[00:38:11] I'd probably be better off trying the live action.

[00:38:13] Because I heard.

[00:38:13] Well you're going to have to watch the live action at some point or another.

[00:38:15] We have an ongoing series.

[00:38:17] Oh yeah.

[00:38:17] It's going to be on Geek Addicts at some point.

[00:38:21] Okay.

[00:38:21] So question number three.

[00:38:24] Least favorite movie.

[00:38:26] You mean show or movie?

[00:38:28] Movie.

[00:38:29] I did this weirdly out of order.

[00:38:31] Okay.

[00:38:33] So.

[00:38:33] Least favorite movie for me.

[00:38:35] This one might be controversial.

[00:38:38] Depending on who you ask.

[00:38:40] But I did not really care for The Boy and the Herring that much.

[00:38:44] You're welcome.

[00:38:45] I didn't hate it.

[00:38:47] Like.

[00:38:48] I think we made too many jokes.

[00:38:51] Well the problem is.

[00:38:52] The entire time watching the movie.

[00:38:54] Anytime the herring showed up on screen.

[00:38:56] Me and Alex would be like.

[00:38:57] Like.

[00:38:58] We decided to call him Robert.

[00:38:59] The entire movie.

[00:39:01] And anytime we'd be like.

[00:39:02] Damn it Robert.

[00:39:04] Robert shit in the window.

[00:39:06] Yeah.

[00:39:06] That happened.

[00:39:09] I think for me too.

[00:39:10] It was also the fact that.

[00:39:14] I still think The Wind Rises is like.

[00:39:16] The best movie he ever made.

[00:39:18] And I thought that was a perfect like.

[00:39:20] Conclusion to his career.

[00:39:22] And The Boy and the Herring was like.

[00:39:24] It was fine.

[00:39:24] But I was just kind of like.

[00:39:25] Yeah.

[00:39:26] I mean.

[00:39:26] It was okay.

[00:39:28] But.

[00:39:29] Compared to all the other Ghibli films I've seen.

[00:39:31] Which is.

[00:39:31] All of them.

[00:39:33] It's probably the one I'm gonna.

[00:39:35] It's probably up there with like.

[00:39:36] Castle in the sky.

[00:39:38] As like.

[00:39:39] Probably the last one I'd watch.

[00:39:40] If I had to choose one.

[00:39:43] I'm kind of surprised Bill.

[00:39:44] I.

[00:39:45] I was pretty convinced that you were going to have to go.

[00:39:47] From the other side of your lowest.

[00:39:48] Just because.

[00:39:48] How confusing it was for you.

[00:39:52] Oh.

[00:39:53] The girl from the other side.

[00:39:54] Yeah.

[00:39:54] I.

[00:39:57] So here shows how much I remembered it.

[00:39:59] I forgot.

[00:40:00] I even watched it.

[00:40:01] When I was making my questions.

[00:40:05] Yeah.

[00:40:06] So that'll answer that question.

[00:40:09] I mean.

[00:40:09] I still found the movie enjoyable.

[00:40:10] It was just confusing.

[00:40:12] If he didn't have the background of the manga.

[00:40:14] Well.

[00:40:14] Because it's a like.

[00:40:15] How.

[00:40:15] It's like a 12 or something.

[00:40:17] Volume manga.

[00:40:18] That they put into like a 30 minute film.

[00:40:20] Or something.

[00:40:21] It was.

[00:40:21] Yeah.

[00:40:22] It was much shorter than it should have been.

[00:40:24] Yeah.

[00:40:26] Yeah.

[00:40:27] I forgot about it.

[00:40:28] So that's why I didn't pick that.

[00:40:29] But then.

[00:40:30] Boy in the Herring kind of.

[00:40:32] I think left more of a.

[00:40:34] Not so much like sour taste.

[00:40:36] Just more kind of an empty feeling.

[00:40:37] When I watched it.

[00:40:38] Hmm.

[00:40:41] So what was your least favorite film Alex?

[00:40:44] Wow.

[00:40:45] Stop copying me Bill.

[00:40:47] It was also the Boy in the Herring.

[00:40:48] And.

[00:40:49] Uh.

[00:40:49] My reason though.

[00:40:50] Is like.

[00:40:51] I feel like I should give it another chance.

[00:40:53] And rewatch it.

[00:40:54] Without Bill.

[00:40:55] Uh.

[00:40:57] Because we just made fun of Robert Pattinson.

[00:41:00] The whole time watching it.

[00:41:01] And we didn't take it seriously.

[00:41:03] So I gotta give it another chance.

[00:41:05] But.

[00:41:06] Still.

[00:41:08] The shit joke.

[00:41:09] That happening.

[00:41:10] Was the best part.

[00:41:14] Where the dad just gets shit all over.

[00:41:16] Well no.

[00:41:17] It's like in the window.

[00:41:19] One of us made a fart noise.

[00:41:23] Well.

[00:41:23] There was a scene where like.

[00:41:24] He's hanging out the window.

[00:41:26] And like.

[00:41:27] Alex just like.

[00:41:28] He bent over.

[00:41:29] And Alex just made this fart noise.

[00:41:30] And I was like.

[00:41:30] What did he shit on the window sill?

[00:41:32] And then he flies away.

[00:41:33] And there's just shit all over the window.

[00:41:34] I'm like.

[00:41:35] I'm like.

[00:41:36] Okay.

[00:41:36] I'm like.

[00:41:37] I'm like.

[00:41:37] I'm like.

[00:41:39] Oh geez.

[00:41:41] The turning point.

[00:41:41] Where we were watching it with seriousness.

[00:41:43] And then at that point.

[00:41:44] It just went out the window.

[00:41:46] And it was just a joke.

[00:41:47] At that point.

[00:41:48] And we did not watch anything.

[00:41:50] With any bit of sincerity.

[00:41:52] Well because anytime he was on screen.

[00:41:54] He was Robert Pattinson.

[00:41:55] And we were like.

[00:41:56] Damn it Robert.

[00:41:56] Robert.

[00:41:58] So.

[00:41:59] I will give it another chance.

[00:42:01] Next year.

[00:42:02] Uh.

[00:42:03] But yeah.

[00:42:03] Right now.

[00:42:04] I just.

[00:42:05] I.

[00:42:05] All I just think of.

[00:42:06] Is Robert Pattinson.

[00:42:07] And that's it.

[00:42:09] Nice.

[00:42:10] Uh.

[00:42:10] So Matt.

[00:42:10] What was your least favorite movie?

[00:42:13] Um.

[00:42:13] So like.

[00:42:14] This isn't to say.

[00:42:15] I didn't like it.

[00:42:16] It's just out of all the ones I watched.

[00:42:18] I.

[00:42:18] I just felt like it.

[00:42:19] It.

[00:42:19] Did it for me the least.

[00:42:21] And that's drifting home.

[00:42:23] Okay.

[00:42:23] That's fair.

[00:42:24] I mean.

[00:42:24] It.

[00:42:24] It wasn't a bad movie.

[00:42:26] It just.

[00:42:26] It.

[00:42:27] I didn't feel invested at any point.

[00:42:29] While watching it.

[00:42:30] So.

[00:42:32] Yeah.

[00:42:33] I'm kind of in the same boat.

[00:42:34] As you Matt.

[00:42:35] Uh.

[00:42:36] With my choice.

[00:42:37] Which is Millennium Actress.

[00:42:39] It's an older anime movie.

[00:42:40] From like the 80s.

[00:42:42] Satoshi Khan.

[00:42:42] My man.

[00:42:43] Yeah.

[00:42:44] And the thing is.

[00:42:45] It's.

[00:42:45] It's good.

[00:42:46] But compared to everything else.

[00:42:47] Well.

[00:42:47] It's what.

[00:42:48] Weakest film.

[00:42:49] Arguably.

[00:42:50] Yeah.

[00:42:50] But it.

[00:42:50] I mean.

[00:42:51] It was good.

[00:42:51] I enjoyed it.

[00:42:52] But compared to everything else.

[00:42:53] I've watched movie wise this year.

[00:42:55] It's.

[00:42:55] It would be on the bottom of the stack.

[00:42:57] I would still recommend it.

[00:42:59] But it's not like.

[00:43:00] I hate it.

[00:43:01] You know.

[00:43:01] It was good.

[00:43:02] Millennium Actress is an interesting one for me.

[00:43:04] Because it's.

[00:43:05] When you look at Satoshi.

[00:43:06] Because Satoshi Khan.

[00:43:07] To me.

[00:43:08] Was always like.

[00:43:08] He was like the Don Bluth.

[00:43:10] Of like anime.

[00:43:11] Compared to like.

[00:43:12] Say how Miyazaki was like the Walt Disney.

[00:43:14] His films were always a lot darker.

[00:43:16] More.

[00:43:16] Yes.

[00:43:17] Experimental.

[00:43:18] Like.

[00:43:19] His first film is Perfect Blue.

[00:43:20] And Perfect Blue is.

[00:43:21] A masterpiece.

[00:43:23] Yeah.

[00:43:24] But like.

[00:43:24] When Millennium Actress has to go up against.

[00:43:26] Movies like I watched.

[00:43:28] Like.

[00:43:28] I don't know if you've seen.

[00:43:30] Let me make sure I get this.

[00:43:31] Jinro.

[00:43:32] Wolf Brigade.

[00:43:34] I haven't.

[00:43:35] But I've heard great things.

[00:43:36] But yeah.

[00:43:36] Yeah.

[00:43:36] I mean.

[00:43:37] And that's again.

[00:43:38] Another older anime movie.

[00:43:39] That's.

[00:43:39] Tremendous.

[00:43:40] So.

[00:43:41] Overall.

[00:43:42] It's the.

[00:43:42] The weakest.

[00:43:43] But I would still.

[00:43:44] Recommend it to somebody.

[00:43:45] Yeah.

[00:43:45] It's still got that Satoshi Khan.

[00:43:47] Like charm to it.

[00:43:48] Like.

[00:43:48] Satoshi Khan films are famous for.

[00:43:50] Other than Tokyo.

[00:43:51] Godfathers.

[00:43:52] Which is a Christmas movie.

[00:43:52] For whatever reason.

[00:43:54] Which I'm realizing.

[00:43:55] We should have done.

[00:43:56] For our Geek Edicts thing.

[00:43:57] But that's besides the point.

[00:44:00] All his movies.

[00:44:01] Yeah.

[00:44:02] All his movies are like.

[00:44:03] Psychological mind fucks.

[00:44:05] Like.

[00:44:05] And that's kind of like.

[00:44:06] His big.

[00:44:07] Thing.

[00:44:09] Because like.

[00:44:09] His last film was Paprika.

[00:44:11] And that film is literally.

[00:44:12] Just Inception.

[00:44:14] Before Inception.

[00:44:14] It came before.

[00:44:15] Like.

[00:44:16] I'm pretty sure.

[00:44:16] Christopher Nolan ripped off Paprika.

[00:44:17] But that's besides the point.

[00:44:21] Yeah.

[00:44:22] That's it.

[00:44:22] That's an interesting one though.

[00:44:24] Because I saw you would watch that.

[00:44:25] I was like.

[00:44:25] Oh.

[00:44:26] Like.

[00:44:26] That was interesting.

[00:44:27] Yeah.

[00:44:27] I was guessing on.

[00:44:29] Cultworthy movie.

[00:44:30] Or cultworthy studios.

[00:44:31] They do like cultworthy movies.

[00:44:32] And stuff like that.

[00:44:33] Antonio there does.

[00:44:34] Animation April.

[00:44:36] Nice.

[00:44:36] And that was his choice.

[00:44:37] And I'm always really surprised.

[00:44:38] By his choices.

[00:44:39] He picks these like.

[00:44:40] Really weird obscure.

[00:44:41] Anime movies.

[00:44:42] And I'm like.

[00:44:42] All right.

[00:44:43] Well.

[00:44:43] That's what we're watching.

[00:44:44] Have you seen any of the other Satoshi Khan films?

[00:44:47] No.

[00:44:47] That was the first time I've watched anything of his.

[00:44:49] So.

[00:44:49] I highly recommend you check out Perfect Blue.

[00:44:52] Like that movie.

[00:44:53] That movie just like is.

[00:44:55] Like.

[00:44:56] Mindfuckery.

[00:44:57] I'll take it.

[00:44:57] But I also highly recommend you watch Attack on Titan.

[00:44:59] So.

[00:44:59] You know.

[00:45:00] Yeah.

[00:45:01] We're not letting that go Bill.

[00:45:04] It's all right.

[00:45:04] I'll continue to be like.

[00:45:05] Sure.

[00:45:06] And then forget about it.

[00:45:07] In three minutes.

[00:45:08] I'll keep bugging him.

[00:45:08] I'll keep bugging him.

[00:45:09] Well.

[00:45:09] Yeah.

[00:45:10] Everyone will keep bugging me.

[00:45:11] Don't worry.

[00:45:12] I know where you live.

[00:45:13] I have a plan.

[00:45:14] I have a plan.

[00:45:15] What's the plan?

[00:45:15] We're just going to take Bill to a chair.

[00:45:17] Is that what we're doing?

[00:45:19] Unfortunately.

[00:45:20] Two of the people in this room know where I live now.

[00:45:22] All right.

[00:45:23] Sleep.

[00:45:23] We'll start a new group chat.

[00:45:25] Okay.

[00:45:26] Great.

[00:45:28] Just to get Bill to watch Attack on Titan.

[00:45:30] Or else.

[00:45:31] I'm not going to make a promise.

[00:45:32] But I'm going to try.

[00:45:33] We can steal the Mustang.

[00:45:35] There we go.

[00:45:36] Steal it.

[00:45:36] There we go.

[00:45:37] We just removed the tires from it.

[00:45:38] You can have one tire back per season.

[00:45:43] And the steering wheel is like the final part.

[00:45:46] Yeah.

[00:45:46] Exactly.

[00:45:48] You have a tire crack, but you can't drive.

[00:45:52] All your white knees are going to sack.

[00:45:57] Anyways.

[00:45:58] So the next question was.

[00:46:01] What shows did you drop this year?

[00:46:04] And I'm going to be very boring.

[00:46:06] I am so out of order.

[00:46:07] There was an order.

[00:46:09] This is the order I wrote.

[00:46:11] You did?

[00:46:11] What?

[00:46:12] Yeah.

[00:46:12] This is the order that Bill wrote.

[00:46:14] Oh.

[00:46:14] You know what it was?

[00:46:15] I reorganized it because I was like, why is it all over the place?

[00:46:19] Okay.

[00:46:19] Fair.

[00:46:20] So.

[00:46:21] Why are you out of order?

[00:46:22] Oh, and I'm out of order.

[00:46:23] You're out of order.

[00:46:25] Bill's list was just shit.

[00:46:26] Make it make sense.

[00:46:28] The whole damn system's out of order.

[00:46:30] Everything's broken.

[00:46:35] That being said.

[00:46:35] What shows did you drop this year?

[00:46:37] I'm going to be very boring and say I didn't drop any shows because I'm a masochist who will power through anything.

[00:46:43] Even that last season of Rony Kenshin, which I really wanted to drop multiple times, but I said, no, I will persevere.

[00:46:49] And boy, did I persevere.

[00:46:53] Yeah.

[00:46:54] I didn't drop anything.

[00:46:55] What about you, Alex?

[00:46:57] So I didn't drop anything.

[00:46:59] I just chose not to continue watching the shows.

[00:47:03] So I had three.

[00:47:05] Kyo Kuramao.

[00:47:07] I didn't watch the second season because, honestly, I powered through the first season.

[00:47:11] I was like, this is kind of boring.

[00:47:13] I'm over it.

[00:47:14] And it was like 50 episodes long.

[00:47:16] And I was like, God damn it.

[00:47:17] Why did I do this?

[00:47:18] But I was powering through.

[00:47:20] And then I dropped.

[00:47:21] I didn't continue free, which I totally thought I was going to like because I love a good show with a bunch of men doing manly activities.

[00:47:32] Like, like you doing like sport activities.

[00:47:36] And it was all about swimming.

[00:47:37] And it was boring.

[00:47:39] So I was like, this sucks.

[00:47:42] All right.

[00:47:42] And then I just moved on.

[00:47:43] And then the last one I didn't continue was Science Fell in Love.

[00:47:47] So I tried to prove it.

[00:47:49] I liked it, but it just always kind of gave me a headache at the end of it because I feel like if you watch the show is like them very much talking in a lot of science logic, which is fun.

[00:48:00] But then at the end, you're like, oh, my God, shut up.

[00:48:02] Just be silent for two seconds.

[00:48:04] Like they just are blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

[00:48:07] Like the whole time.

[00:48:08] And I'm just I just need a break.

[00:48:11] So I didn't watch season two because I just had a headache after watching it.

[00:48:16] Yeah, those are the only ones I didn't really drop anything.

[00:48:19] Just chose not to continue.

[00:48:21] So you powered through a season.

[00:48:23] So you did basically me with Rising of the Shield Hero.

[00:48:26] It's like season one.

[00:48:27] I was like, I'm good.

[00:48:28] And then I got to season two and I went, eh.

[00:48:30] And I just never put it back up.

[00:48:32] Yep.

[00:48:34] Yep.

[00:48:35] So, Matt, did you drop anything this year?

[00:48:39] Not in a traditional sense, but I was skipping filler.

[00:48:43] I skipped bleach filler.

[00:48:44] I skipped one piece filler.

[00:48:46] So you skipped a whole season of bleach?

[00:48:50] I skipped a lot.

[00:48:51] Well, technically, I haven't gotten to that season where I'd be skipping that.

[00:48:56] That would be the next thing to watch.

[00:48:59] But I'm just going to bounce right over that.

[00:49:03] I also skipped a lot of Boruto because I'm only watching Maga Canon stuff, except for the time travel arc because that was actually good.

[00:49:09] Well, the time travel arc is the best reason to watch Boruto.

[00:49:11] The rest of that show is a mental exercise.

[00:49:15] Yeah.

[00:49:15] And honestly, the only reason I didn't watch all the way through is because Hulu has like the dub cuts out at like 210.

[00:49:21] So I was like, all right, I guess I'm just going to wait for me to put more on.

[00:49:24] Gotcha.

[00:49:26] I dropped three different shows.

[00:49:28] One of those is going to hurt one of the barbers.

[00:49:31] So I dropped 8686.

[00:49:34] My co-host, Will, for Driveway Studios was like, oh, dude, it's really good.

[00:49:39] I was bored of it at the end of part one.

[00:49:42] Dropped it.

[00:49:42] I dropped Rising of the Shield Heroes season three.

[00:49:45] Again, I don't know what it is because I really like season one.

[00:49:48] I stuck around for season two.

[00:49:49] Season two finished strong.

[00:49:51] But season three, I just can't.

[00:49:53] If that's the one you're upset about, I don't blame you.

[00:49:56] Yeah.

[00:49:57] I also was just kind of like, I like the whale lady, but that was about it.

[00:50:01] Yeah.

[00:50:02] Yeah.

[00:50:02] I think I got like four episodes and I was like, I just can't do this anymore.

[00:50:05] I powered through.

[00:50:06] That would be a perfect show if it was just one season.

[00:50:08] Yeah.

[00:50:09] Yeah.

[00:50:09] And then the last one is I dropped out of The Dangers in My Heart season two because I'm, there's only so much of the, oh, does she like me?

[00:50:19] Does he like me?

[00:50:20] I can stand.

[00:50:21] And those two should know.

[00:50:22] And they're idiots if they don't.

[00:50:24] I mean, they are middle schoolers.

[00:50:27] Yeah.

[00:50:27] I know.

[00:50:28] But I mean, it's like painfully obvious.

[00:50:30] Somebody should, like the only one who knows is that a Gyaru friend of Ana's.

[00:50:36] She's always like trying to push him.

[00:50:37] I'm like, where are more people like you?

[00:50:38] Just force them.

[00:50:40] Yeah.

[00:50:41] Yeah.

[00:50:41] So I don't blame you a hundred percent.

[00:50:43] So fun fact with Dangers in My Heart, I finished the manga like up to, so the first two seasons cover the first eight volumes.

[00:50:51] I had already finished up to volume eight by the time season two started like dubbing over here.

[00:50:56] So I was kind of like, oh, this is all stuff I've already seen.

[00:50:58] I know where this goes.

[00:50:59] And I kind of was like, oh, I might as well finish it.

[00:51:01] Even though the second, I will admit the second half of Dangers in My Heart before they get together is so painful in that way.

[00:51:08] Yeah.

[00:51:08] It's like, guys, you're worse than Comey and fucking Hito Hito at this point.

[00:51:13] The Valentine's episode was driving me nuts.

[00:51:16] I'm like, she gave you chocolate.

[00:51:18] Why are you questioning this?

[00:51:20] Yeah.

[00:51:21] You know what I'm like?

[00:51:22] Like if you ever want to like reach into the screen and like smack a character, that would have been my moment.

[00:51:26] If I got one, that would have been it.

[00:51:28] See, the only thing that kind of that kind of like let me help me get through it is the fact that like they're middle schoolers.

[00:51:36] They're not high schoolers.

[00:51:37] So it's a little more understandable that they're kind of dumb.

[00:51:40] I mean, Anna is incredibly dumb at times, which I feel bad because it's like, it's like, God damn.

[00:51:47] And then, you know, Akio is like a little edgelord.

[00:51:51] So it's a very weird show.

[00:51:54] Like at first, like that first episode is kind of off-putting and then you kind of get, you get into it and then it drags and then you get into it again.

[00:52:02] Yeah.

[00:52:03] Yeah.

[00:52:03] But that was the thing.

[00:52:04] Like a lot of progress was made in season one and then it's just like, yep, doesn't count season two.

[00:52:07] Let's start over again.

[00:52:08] You should just skip to like the last two episodes because you won't really miss anything and just see the conclusion.

[00:52:13] Okay.

[00:52:13] I'll go back and do that.

[00:52:15] Also, the mangaka for that, for that artist, that manga is horny as fuck.

[00:52:21] Yeah.

[00:52:21] Yeah.

[00:52:22] I've seen screenshots of it.

[00:52:25] They're middle schoolers, man.

[00:52:27] Well, actually, it's a woman who writes it too, which makes it even weirder.

[00:52:31] Yeah.

[00:52:32] I actually, I guess I technically lied.

[00:52:34] I did technically drop a show, but this has been a show I've dropped like a thousand times.

[00:52:39] And that was, I tried to watch Bleach again and fell asleep after two episodes.

[00:52:43] And I didn't consider that a drop.

[00:52:44] I considered that a failed attempt.

[00:52:46] So.

[00:52:46] Call it a snooze.

[00:52:49] That has been my show I've tried to watch like multiple times over the years.

[00:52:54] And every time I try to watch it, I fall asleep after like three episodes.

[00:52:58] It's early episodes are very slow.

[00:53:00] Yeah.

[00:53:01] True.

[00:53:02] It just doesn't hold me in.

[00:53:03] And then by the time I wake up, I'm like, oh, well, try it again.

[00:53:06] Whenever I go back and rewatch it, I like skip to like a certain number of episodes.

[00:53:10] I'm like, all right, now it's getting interesting.

[00:53:14] Nice.

[00:53:14] Well, I finally decided I had to start going through a rewatch because I keep hearing about

[00:53:19] Thousand Year Blood War and how good it is.

[00:53:21] Yeah.

[00:53:22] And I haven't watched it since like middle school.

[00:53:24] So it's like, all right, I got to actually watch the show again.

[00:53:26] So I remember what happened before I watch it.

[00:53:30] Yeah.

[00:53:31] I got to do that too.

[00:53:34] All right.

[00:53:35] So question number five, what was your least favorite show of the year?

[00:53:38] So for me, this one was interesting.

[00:53:43] I, my least favorite show of the year was The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague.

[00:53:48] Um, so with this one, this is based off of a manga that I've actually been reading called

[00:53:53] The Ice Guy and the Cool Girl, which is just a, it's a, it's another slice of life, which

[00:53:58] is, it's, it's a, it's a cute little story.

[00:54:01] I think it works better in manga form because the anime I just thought was boring.

[00:54:05] Um, it's, it's kind of like Dangers in My Heart in the sense where it's like, it's two adults

[00:54:10] in an office that are clearly in love with each other, but then they're just awkward and they

[00:54:15] just never goes anywhere, even though it's like, it's obvious.

[00:54:19] But then the guy is like an ice spirit and he has ice powers.

[00:54:23] And there's a cat, there's like a, like a fox girl that works in the office just randomly.

[00:54:30] Why not?

[00:54:31] In the manga, it was more amusing.

[00:54:33] In the anime, I was just like, this doesn't make any fucking sense.

[00:54:35] And I, I powered through and finished the season, but if they do more, I'll probably just stick

[00:54:41] to the manga in all honesty.

[00:54:43] That was the closest I think I got to dropping something.

[00:54:47] So Alex, what was your least favorite?

[00:54:49] My least favorite, it was a very like frustrating show because I wanted to like it a lot, but

[00:54:56] the main character was so horrible and irritating that he just ruined the show.

[00:55:03] Um, it was called Bucci Giri, um, which the character designs, the theming, like it was

[00:55:10] kind of like almost Arabian Nights theme, not actually like it's set in a high school,

[00:55:15] but they kind of pull those, you know, themings into it.

[00:55:18] A lot of the characters were really cool.

[00:55:20] The premise was kind of cool.

[00:55:22] It was like these two spirits of like what they used to call like these God fighters or

[00:55:27] something.

[00:55:27] I can't remember exactly.

[00:55:29] Um, but they basically get trapped into these two guns.

[00:55:32] And if you got shot with the gun, you got the power of the fighting spirit.

[00:55:38] Uh, and it's basically them trying to find each other to kind of have their final battle

[00:55:42] they never had.

[00:55:43] But the main character is just like such the worst.

[00:55:47] Like he's just awful.

[00:55:49] Like, like he's just a jerk to everyone for no reason.

[00:55:53] And he's just in love with this one character who has nothing to do with him.

[00:55:57] And he's just like, I just want to have sex and not be a virgin.

[00:55:59] And like, and that's this whole character.

[00:56:02] I'm like, come on.

[00:56:03] Like you have this childhood friend.

[00:56:05] You're just being a jerk to for no reason at all.

[00:56:07] Because you were a little bitch when you were younger.

[00:56:10] Like, I was like, it has an intro.

[00:56:13] It doesn't deserve either.

[00:56:15] So it's like, I wanted to watch it because I liked everything else about it.

[00:56:18] But the main character just fucking sucked and ruined it.

[00:56:22] I was so mad.

[00:56:24] Alex wanted to punch the screen so hard.

[00:56:26] Oh my god, yeah.

[00:56:27] I wanted to just like punch.

[00:56:28] If he wasn't in the show, it would have been so much better.

[00:56:32] Are you right?

[00:56:34] And his tingles is back.

[00:56:37] Nice.

[00:56:38] So Matt, what was your least favorite show of the year?

[00:56:41] So this is going to be a bit of a hot take.

[00:56:44] Okay.

[00:56:44] I might get, I might get some hate for it, but.

[00:56:46] If it's one piece.

[00:56:48] I feel what I, no, it's not one piece.

[00:56:50] It's not one piece.

[00:56:54] It's a neon Genesis save man.

[00:56:56] Galion.

[00:56:57] What?

[00:56:58] Yeah.

[00:56:59] Oh, I already knew this.

[00:57:01] So I was, oh no.

[00:57:03] Yeah.

[00:57:04] I don't know.

[00:57:04] It just didn't do it for me.

[00:57:05] It took like, it's like a 26 episode show and it took until episode 16 to get any character

[00:57:10] development or plot progression.

[00:57:12] Yep.

[00:57:12] And then it just tried to fucking speed run through everything all at once.

[00:57:15] And I just, I could not get invested in it.

[00:57:18] I did not like any of the characters.

[00:57:20] It just, it just didn't do it for me.

[00:57:22] Can I, can I, so, all right.

[00:57:25] This comes again from my cohost.

[00:57:26] Cause that's his favorite anime of all time.

[00:57:29] Uh, I think it's fine, but it's apparently production problems is why it does that.

[00:57:34] The studio like went under, ran out of money.

[00:57:36] Okay.

[00:57:37] Yeah.

[00:57:38] So that's, that's basically what happened.

[00:57:39] So if you go back and you watch like the, what do they call it?

[00:57:42] Like neon Genesis, uh, the movies, they have the dumbest names ever.

[00:57:47] Yeah.

[00:57:47] But there's four of them.

[00:57:48] Yeah.

[00:57:48] But if you go do that, that's the story properly told.

[00:57:51] Okay.

[00:57:52] I'll give that a shot for next year.

[00:57:54] Okay.

[00:57:54] Hopefully we'll double back and I'll like it more.

[00:57:56] Yeah.

[00:57:56] You also watch the inferior Netflix dub and not the awesome, uh, original ADV dub, which

[00:58:01] is bad, but like great at the same time.

[00:58:03] It's fair.

[00:58:05] Like it's one of those.

[00:58:07] Okay.

[00:58:08] I was just gonna say, it's one of those cases where like the original dub is bad, but better.

[00:58:11] And then the new one is better, but just boring.

[00:58:14] So.

[00:58:14] Yeah.

[00:58:14] But no, no, Matt, I kind of agree with you.

[00:58:16] Like it's fine.

[00:58:17] I think like the last two episodes, it was just like flashy lights, mind numb.

[00:58:22] Yeah.

[00:58:22] I'm ready for this to be over.

[00:58:23] Yeah.

[00:58:23] Yeah.

[00:58:24] And, and, and I, I share a sentiment with Alex where I, I feel like the opening was

[00:58:29] way harder than it deserved.

[00:58:31] Yes.

[00:58:32] That's most animes though, like in a lot of cases.

[00:58:36] Um, so Slade, what was your least favorite show of the year?

[00:58:39] I have another hot take and I'm so happy for it to be over and to go away.

[00:58:44] And it's Dan to Dan.

[00:58:47] Oh, I, I, every, uh, I'm pulling my hair out.

[00:58:50] What little I have left every Thursday when I watch it.

[00:58:54] And right now the two characters I can't stand the most is, uh, Aria and Gigi.

[00:59:00] I, the show would be so much better without the two of them.

[00:59:03] I, I, I can't stand a single second of them.

[00:59:06] If they could just go fight ghosts with the two characters we met in the first place, that's

[00:59:10] all we need to do.

[00:59:11] We don't need these other two.

[00:59:12] They're just so obnoxious.

[00:59:15] So I'm going to say about Don to Don, obviously I haven't seen the final episode yet, but,

[00:59:20] um, my thoughts, yeah, my thoughts on it are like the whole time.

[00:59:26] Like I've had the most just, um, confused kind of feelings on it, watching it.

[00:59:32] Cause I'm kind of like, there's, there's points where I'm like, this is pretty cool.

[00:59:35] And then there's points where I'm like, what am I watching?

[00:59:37] Yeah.

[00:59:38] There's, there's a lot of that.

[00:59:40] Like the banana scene in the first half.

[00:59:42] They're like, give me your banana.

[00:59:43] I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, Alex, you wanted me to watch this.

[00:59:46] Like what?

[00:59:49] It gets good at points.

[00:59:50] Like, I still think episode seven, the fucking mood whiplash is really effective.

[00:59:54] I was over it.

[00:59:55] I was so over it.

[00:59:56] And I think I'm just, yeah, I did not care.

[00:59:58] I'm just going to say it.

[00:59:59] I did not care about the ballerina dancer.

[01:00:01] I just wanted it to be over.

[01:00:02] I did not care.

[01:00:03] I don't care that she got brutally murdered.

[01:00:05] Move the plot along.

[01:00:06] We're not helping at the moment.

[01:00:08] The only thing about that show that I keep thinking is like the random jokes, like from

[01:00:12] like, I forget what the quotes from, but every time I watch the show, I'm just like, oh, look,

[01:00:16] it's sexy grandma.

[01:00:17] Yeah.

[01:00:18] For whatever reason.

[01:00:20] Oh man.

[01:00:22] That and that gif of like, what's the female main character's name?

[01:00:25] Momo.

[01:00:26] That gif of Momo eating the fucking like lobster or crab.

[01:00:30] I'm like, what the fuck is going on?

[01:00:33] Yeah.

[01:00:33] I've never seen lobster that hard to pull out of the shell.

[01:00:36] Just.

[01:00:37] It is a very weird show.

[01:00:39] Like I kind of get why people enjoy it, but I, it's kind of one of those ones where I'm

[01:00:44] like, if I hadn't started it, I probably wouldn't be interested in this.

[01:00:47] That might be a hot take.

[01:00:49] I don't like the intro that much.

[01:00:50] It's okay.

[01:00:51] Well, like creepy nuts did it and they, I mean, they have like a lot of solid bangers call

[01:00:55] it the night's intro season two of Mashal.

[01:00:59] Yeah.

[01:00:59] I mean, yeah, there, I mean, but it got overplayed really quickly.

[01:01:04] I think that was the problem with it.

[01:01:05] Like it's good, but it just didn't need to be every other Instagram reel.

[01:01:09] You looked at or every other YouTube video or TikTok or whatever.

[01:01:12] That's really the issue.

[01:01:13] I felt like, especially I like agree.

[01:01:16] I feel like some of the other ones like held up much quicker, like much longer where this

[01:01:21] one, I was like, okay.

[01:01:22] Like skip.

[01:01:23] Like, like after a while, it's just like, all right, I'm good.

[01:01:26] I've got it.

[01:01:27] Where some of the other ones I didn't skip.

[01:01:30] To explain how invested I was into Don to Don while I was watching it.

[01:01:34] I was literally playing RuneScape.

[01:01:35] Most of the time I was watching Don to Don.

[01:01:37] I had it on in the, which I rarely do because I have a hard time multitasking like that.

[01:01:41] I just put it on to my phone in the corner and was just playing RuneScape the entire time.

[01:01:45] I was like, yeah, that's interesting.

[01:01:47] I guess.

[01:01:47] So that's cool.

[01:01:48] And then I got that volume seven episode seven.

[01:01:50] I was like, wait, what am I?

[01:01:50] And I had to watch that.

[01:01:52] And I was like, then once that was over, I was like, okay.

[01:01:55] And I just went back to RuneScape.

[01:01:57] Pretty much.

[01:01:58] Well, I was grinding, so I wasn't really doing much.

[01:02:02] That's interesting because like people love Don to Don.

[01:02:05] I just, I don't see it.

[01:02:06] I really don't see it.

[01:02:08] That's fair.

[01:02:09] I liked it.

[01:02:11] I don't know how I feel about it.

[01:02:13] That's kind of where I'll say what I'll say.

[01:02:15] And you haven't seen it, I'm guessing that.

[01:02:17] No, yeah.

[01:02:17] I'm waiting for it to finish.

[01:02:18] I'm just going to binge up.

[01:02:19] Well, just hit up the group chat, right?

[01:02:23] Just give us an answer.

[01:02:27] Don to Don, thumbs up, thumbs down.

[01:02:29] You know, treat it like a dad text, you know?

[01:02:33] You know what I'll do?

[01:02:33] I'll just type it in the chat tomorrow and then you can just respond with either a thumbs

[01:02:37] over or a thumbs down emoji.

[01:02:42] All right.

[01:02:43] So next question.

[01:02:45] Biggest surprise.

[01:02:45] Like this was a show that you didn't have any real opinion on, but you kind of like

[01:02:51] been watching.

[01:02:52] You were like, wow, that was not what I was expecting.

[01:02:55] Or you could interpret it any way you want, honestly.

[01:02:58] But that's how I interpreted it.

[01:02:59] This one might be surprising, but my biggest surprise was actually Oshinoko season two.

[01:03:07] Not because I thought it would be bad.

[01:03:09] Honestly, my entire reasoning behind being kind of skeptical for Oshinoko season two was the fact that

[01:03:17] right before the dubs started coming out, the fan base fucking imploded online.

[01:03:23] And I had no idea what to think.

[01:03:26] My entire interest in that series was like a roller coaster at the time.

[01:03:30] I was like, am I even going to like this show?

[01:03:33] I liked season one, but the fan base is kind of scaring me right now.

[01:03:37] It was bad.

[01:03:39] I saw so many meltdowns.

[01:03:41] I was like, all right, I can't look up anything Oshinoko until I finish it because,

[01:03:45] my God, something happened.

[01:03:49] And then I watched Oshinoko season two.

[01:03:51] And I was like, oh no, I understand why I like the first season.

[01:03:55] This is also equally interesting.

[01:03:57] Last three episodes are like, what the fuck?

[01:03:59] I need to see more.

[01:04:00] Can't wait for season three.

[01:04:02] Yeah.

[01:04:03] Oshinoko season two was a bop.

[01:04:08] It's funny how it's split in two.

[01:04:10] The first half is the play and then the rest is everything else.

[01:04:13] Yes.

[01:04:13] And the play goes by really quick.

[01:04:15] And then you get to the stuff at the end.

[01:04:18] You're like, what the hell's happening?

[01:04:22] If I can to add to your point, the big musical number both seasons have at the end.

[01:04:26] They're just great.

[01:04:28] Yeah.

[01:04:30] No, I was surprised how much I really enjoyed it.

[01:04:33] It basically brought back everything that made me love season one again.

[01:04:36] And I was like, all right, I'm invested.

[01:04:39] Too bad the manga is like weirdly.

[01:04:41] The manga is US release like English because I'm only reading physically is really behind from where it ended.

[01:04:49] So I'm like really behind.

[01:04:50] I'm like, I hate waiting.

[01:04:52] But it's Yen Press.

[01:04:52] And Yen Press takes fucking forever to release manga.

[01:04:54] So Alex, what was your biggest surprise?

[01:04:59] So I kind of had two, but for like two different reasons.

[01:05:03] So I'll go over the first one first.

[01:05:06] First one was Odd Taxi.

[01:05:09] I clicked it on.

[01:05:10] It was one of the ones where I like saw it.

[01:05:12] I was like, oh, that's kind of weird.

[01:05:14] I'm going to watch it.

[01:05:16] And without spoiling anything, it takes you for a loop.

[01:05:21] Like it does not, it is not what I thought it was going to be.

[01:05:25] It is a lot more serious than I originally thought.

[01:05:29] Because if you look it up, it's like all these little animal characters.

[01:05:31] And the main character is a walrus.

[01:05:35] And like, I was like, what is this?

[01:05:37] But it was such a great show.

[01:05:40] And I was just left like, like it was one of those ones where you were like, I need to

[01:05:45] like watch this again.

[01:05:47] And like with a new perspective, because the last episode leaves you in a place where you're

[01:05:52] like, what?

[01:05:53] And then like, you want to honestly go back and rewatch it with the new knowing what you

[01:05:59] know at the end, because then it's it'll change like the whole perception of the whole

[01:06:04] show, which was like really good.

[01:06:07] Like, I definitely recommend that one.

[01:06:09] It's only 12 episodes.

[01:06:10] And it's, it takes you for a ride.

[01:06:13] Nice.

[01:06:14] And then the other one was delicious and dungeon.

[01:06:17] I knew a lot of people were hyped about it.

[01:06:19] But I don't know, I think it fell off very quickly.

[01:06:22] I like was like really into it.

[01:06:24] And like of them going through, you know, the dungeon, and then trying to save the sister.

[01:06:29] And then once they got to that part, this was like, I don't know, I just, I really love

[01:06:33] the charm of the show of like them just eating up monsters in the dungeon.

[01:06:37] And when they kind of stopped doing that as much, it kind of was like, I liked campfire

[01:06:42] cooking more.

[01:06:43] Yeah.

[01:06:44] I really did.

[01:06:45] I thought it was better out of the two.

[01:06:47] I thought it was a little overhyped.

[01:06:49] So yeah, that was my biggest like surprise because I thought I was really going to like

[01:06:52] it.

[01:06:53] And I was like, whatever.

[01:06:54] Whatever.

[01:06:56] Nice.

[01:06:58] So Matt, what was your biggest surprise?

[01:07:00] Well, see, I have a few for this one because there are different reasons of surprise.

[01:07:06] Yeah.

[01:07:08] So the first one I just want to get out of the way is Sandland because I read the manga

[01:07:14] a few years ago, but I think the biggest part of that surprise was I never thought we were

[01:07:19] going to get an anime adaptation.

[01:07:21] It's probably about 24 years after the original manga came out.

[01:07:25] Like that's wild that that even happened.

[01:07:30] Another one is Code Geass because that's one that I've always heard about and I've always

[01:07:35] heard it's good.

[01:07:36] And it's not like I didn't believe it, but I also wasn't expecting it to be a mech show.

[01:07:42] I've been hearing about it for like well over a decade and I, for some reason it just, I

[01:07:47] never picked up the fact that it was a mech show.

[01:07:48] So the fact that I actually like a mech show, that's, that's a big surprise right there.

[01:07:52] I kind of always forget that it's a mech show.

[01:07:55] And when I go back to look at it, I was like, oh yeah, I watched one.

[01:07:58] That's me with Full Metal Panic.

[01:08:00] It's like anytime I watch Full Metal Panic, I'm like, oh right, this is a mech show.

[01:08:05] And I'm going to say Daima just because like I, I knew Daima was going to be like, you know,

[01:08:12] Toriyama craziness because I knew how like invested he was in it and how much he put into it.

[01:08:16] I did not know how much fucking lore he was going to dump into it because there's so much

[01:08:21] lore going on right now, like way more than he has added in a long time.

[01:08:26] And it's just fucking wild to me.

[01:08:30] Nice.

[01:08:30] I can't wait to watch that.

[01:08:32] Yeah.

[01:08:32] I'm psyched for the dub.

[01:08:33] It's so good.

[01:08:34] It's halfway done right now in the subs and I'm really loving it.

[01:08:38] Awesome.

[01:08:39] Nice.

[01:08:41] For me, it was, and I'm going to sell you on this because the name might throw you off.

[01:08:45] It is Pseudo Harem.

[01:08:48] Go on.

[01:08:49] It's not only, but what's so cool about it is it's, it's two characters.

[01:08:55] They're both in like the acting drama club, essentially.

[01:08:59] And our main guy, he's like reading the thing.

[01:09:03] She kind of takes interest in him from episode one, but he's like, oh, wouldn't it just be

[01:09:07] great to be a guy in one of these and just have your own harem of women?

[01:09:10] And she's actually like an actress.

[01:09:12] So she starts pulling off different characters, like a little bit of impish, a little bit of

[01:09:16] tsundere, you know, all the different architropes you would expect from different like anime

[01:09:22] girls, but all piled into one.

[01:09:24] Okay.

[01:09:25] And their relationship builds like from friendship to actual like marriage.

[01:09:30] Oh.

[01:09:31] And you get to watch that.

[01:09:32] And it's, it's just, it's fun.

[01:09:33] It's wholesome, not fan servicey.

[01:09:35] It's just entertaining, fun, and silly.

[01:09:39] Nice.

[01:09:42] So I didn't realize, did you have any other ones later?

[01:09:45] No, that was, that was my biggest surprise of the year.

[01:09:48] I forgot that we were, we had no rules and we could do multiple answers.

[01:09:51] I also want to just, I also just want to shout out Kono Zuba.

[01:09:54] Like that one's what I've been sitting on for years.

[01:09:57] And after watching that entire thing, like, holy fuck, why is it, why is it that good?

[01:10:03] You know who recommended that?

[01:10:05] It was me and Jared.

[01:10:06] Yep.

[01:10:07] You know what else, you know what else we recommended?

[01:10:10] Attack on Titan.

[01:10:14] The subject of this episode is Bill Watch Attack on Titan.

[01:10:19] Attack on what now?

[01:10:20] Anyways.

[01:10:22] You know, Bill, if nine out of ten dentists track a man.

[01:10:26] Bill's are like one dentist who's like, nah, fuck that.

[01:10:30] Who's the one dentist that's always like, no.

[01:10:34] Yeah, yeah.

[01:10:35] I don't know.

[01:10:36] Bill, that's you.

[01:10:37] You are one dentist at the moment.

[01:10:41] Yeah, I will say that, like, the one thing about Kono Zuba that I just adore is the fact

[01:10:45] that, like, how he gets isekai'd.

[01:10:48] Like, he thinks he's saving the girl from the truck, but then it turns out it was a slow-moving

[01:10:53] tractor.

[01:10:54] It wasn't even going to hit her.

[01:10:55] And that's not even what killed him.

[01:10:57] It was the heart attack.

[01:10:58] And then he pissed himself.

[01:11:01] Just everything about that.

[01:11:04] Bill?

[01:11:05] Just to call you out further.

[01:11:06] You're on vacation starting Friday to January 1st.

[01:11:10] That's a perfect amount of time to watch Attack on Titan.

[01:11:14] Just saying.

[01:11:15] Just saying, Bill.

[01:11:18] She's not wrong.

[01:11:19] She is.

[01:11:20] Alex, that's a perfect time to watch Dragon Ball Z.

[01:11:23] Fine, I'll fucking do it.

[01:11:24] I need another show to watch.

[01:11:26] You just need to dedicate your heart, Bill.

[01:11:30] I'll just dedicate your heart.

[01:11:31] That is worth it for...

[01:11:36] Like, when I watched the ending, I was, like, genuinely like, huh?

[01:11:41] You know what I'm going to do?

[01:11:43] I'm going to just, like, because...

[01:11:44] Bill, you got to do it.

[01:11:45] Because me and Slade follow each other on any list, I'm just going to watch episode one.

[01:11:49] And then just leave it there for, like...

[01:11:51] No!

[01:11:51] It's going to drive me nuts.

[01:11:53] Yeah.

[01:11:55] Just leave one.

[01:11:56] No, watch, like, episode two of season two or something just to make it even more confusing.

[01:12:02] No, you just watch...

[01:12:03] You go straight to the end.

[01:12:05] Yeah, I watch it in reverse.

[01:12:07] Like you're doing with Dragon Ball.

[01:12:09] I wouldn't recommend that, but...

[01:12:12] Yeah.

[01:12:15] So now for question seven.

[01:12:17] Honorable mentions.

[01:12:18] Like, just anything that, like, you'd like to just kind of highlight really quick?

[01:12:22] Um, for me in particular, like, the ones I wanted to do...

[01:12:25] There's four shows in particular that I didn't really have for anything else, but they were kind of the ones that stuck out to me.

[01:12:33] Kaiju number eight.

[01:12:34] Did not expect to be as into that as I was, because I binged that in two days.

[01:12:40] Good.

[01:12:40] Solo leveling.

[01:12:41] I like the idea of an isekai that basically takes the concept of an isekai and flips it on its head.

[01:12:47] Okay.

[01:12:47] Um, and then that's a show where it's like every episode ends with a fucking cliffhanger where you're like, what?

[01:12:52] I need...

[01:12:53] Like, that is not a show to watch when you don't have enough time, because, like, you're gonna get to an episode...

[01:12:57] It takes, like...

[01:12:58] There's, like, two episodes that you can actually end without needing to watch the next one.

[01:13:02] And I was like, goddammit, I have to know what happens next.

[01:13:06] Um, another one was My Happy Marriage.

[01:13:09] I was not expecting...

[01:13:11] That looks like a show I would watch, just for my tastes.

[01:13:14] But, like, for whatever reason, like, it just kind of, like, went over my head until Alex was like, anime swap now.

[01:13:20] Which is how I watch the other two as well.

[01:13:24] Um, and I ended up watching it all the way through, and it was another one that was like, holy shit.

[01:13:28] Like, you just have to see what happens next.

[01:13:30] Because it's surprisingly deep.

[01:13:33] And, like, getting that OVA at the end of the year, I was like...

[01:13:37] You watch the OVA, and all it made me go was like, I want more, dammit.

[01:13:41] Like, I want to know what happens next.

[01:13:44] Um, and the only other one...

[01:13:46] This was the only one that wasn't an Alex recommendation.

[01:13:49] Uh, I watched, um, a show called Relife this year.

[01:13:52] And Relife is an old...

[01:13:55] A very old, uh, slice of life on, uh...

[01:13:58] From the Funimation days.

[01:14:00] Basically, imagine you're a guy in your adulthood who picked a job and said job did not go the way you planned.

[01:14:09] And you're basically, now your life is over and you have no future.

[01:14:12] And then some strange man offers you a pill and says, hey, you can start life over and try again.

[01:14:17] Um, and then the whole concept of the show is this guy takes a pill.

[01:14:21] Children do not do that.

[01:14:22] Do not take strange pills from strange men.

[01:14:24] Well, the best part is, all the pill does is just make you look younger.

[01:14:28] It doesn't actually de-age you.

[01:14:30] It just makes you look younger.

[01:14:31] So you just get to go through high school again.

[01:14:34] Um, as an adult, but in a teenager's body.

[01:14:37] That's so creepy.

[01:14:41] Well, it's not as bad as you think.

[01:14:43] Um, mm.

[01:14:45] So the twist...

[01:14:46] Strange pills from strange men.

[01:14:48] The twist at the end makes it work.

[01:14:50] Like, the twist at the end makes it work.

[01:14:52] Because there is a very...

[01:14:53] Some of that kind of sketchy stuff does happen throughout it.

[01:14:56] And I'm always like, mm.

[01:14:57] And then all of a sudden you get to the twist at the end and you go, oh, it's not creepy anymore.

[01:15:03] It makes sense in context.

[01:15:04] I will say, though, there's like a great scene where he's, um, at gym.

[01:15:07] And there...

[01:15:08] He's basically getting annihilated by, like, the sport.

[01:15:10] Like, all the other kids.

[01:15:12] And he's like, ah, baseball.

[01:15:14] The thing I was good at.

[01:15:15] And then he throws his fucking back out because he's still old.

[01:15:17] Even though he's in a child's body.

[01:15:21] Very entertaining show.

[01:15:22] It's quick.

[01:15:23] It's like...

[01:15:24] I think the season is, like, 14 episodes.

[01:15:26] Then the final chapters is, like, five episodes just to wrap up the manga.

[01:15:31] That was an entertaining one.

[01:15:33] I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

[01:15:36] So, Alex, what are your honorable mentions?

[01:15:38] Um, yeah.

[01:15:39] My first one was also solo leveling.

[01:15:41] Um, again, I also really liked that it took the whole, you know, Izaqaba kind of flipped it on its head.

[01:15:47] And the movie just, what left me really wanting to watch season two, so badly that I caught up with the manga.

[01:15:55] Uh, well, I read all the manga that I currently have on hand, which is always one to five.

[01:16:00] What do you mean you did get to watch season two?

[01:16:02] You watched the first episodes.

[01:16:04] No, I know.

[01:16:04] The movie was the first two episodes.

[01:16:06] I want the actual season two.

[01:16:08] Like, I want more.

[01:16:09] Um, and then I was going to put Tower of God.

[01:16:13] Um, I, that one came out a while ago, and I know the follow-up seasons came out only recently, but my favorite character is Rock.

[01:16:20] He's a dinosaur man, and at first he just calls everyone turtles.

[01:16:25] Um, but then he ends up being, like, your favorite character who, like, actually loves everyone.

[01:16:30] And turtles is, like, a term of endearment, but he's, like, brown turtle, blue turtle.

[01:16:35] And then he's my favorite character.

[01:16:36] Just watch it for him.

[01:16:37] He's great.

[01:16:38] He's great.

[01:16:38] You'll know it when you see him.

[01:16:40] Um, then Freeran.

[01:16:43] Uh, what a time.

[01:16:44] What a great show.

[01:16:45] Uh, can't wait for season two, but very, I, I completely understand why it's getting all the anime of the year titles.

[01:16:53] It deserves it.

[01:16:54] It is very, very good.

[01:16:55] They'll watch it.

[01:16:56] But also watch Attack on Titan.

[01:16:58] Um, then we can do what we have to do.

[01:17:02] And then next one I have is Windbreaker, uh, which is newer, but, uh, Windbreaker is kind of like a delinquent, uh, story.

[01:17:11] And I know there was that one a while back.

[01:17:13] It was like, I can't even remember what it's called now.

[01:17:16] But it was very big and it just fell off very quickly.

[01:17:18] And I kind of lost interest in that.

[01:17:20] But then I watched this one and I was like, oh, this one's actually really fun.

[01:17:24] Characters are really cool.

[01:17:25] Awesome designs.

[01:17:26] Awesome backstories.

[01:17:27] So can't wait to keep watching that.

[01:17:29] And lastly, sharing magic, 30 years of virginity can make you a virtual wizard.

[01:17:36] I watched it for the title alone, but it's actually pretty cool.

[01:17:40] I mean, like you guys, I'm not going to recommend it to you guys because it is a Yowie show.

[01:17:44] So I'm just going to, uh, not recommend it.

[01:17:47] But, um, the story is actually really interesting because like he ends up waking up one day and suddenly he can read everyone's stuff.

[01:17:54] Like he can hear everyone's thoughts.

[01:17:56] And then he interacts with his coworker.

[01:17:59] And then like, he finds out that his coworker is madly in love with him, but can't say it because they're two dudes in the office place.

[01:18:07] And like, it's the whole bouncing of like him now knowing that this man is attracted to him and he doesn't know how he feels.

[01:18:14] And he can just hear everyone's thoughts now.

[01:18:18] You know, between this and you talk about Haikyuu and the swimming anime, I think we're realizing Alex has a particular taste.

[01:18:24] Haikyuu and the swimming anime, I think we're going to be a little bit more.

[01:18:25] I'm sorry, but it's a good time.

[01:18:28] And honestly, like there's so many of them that like just are awful.

[01:18:32] Like there's one that I always joke with Phil about, like, because it's terrible.

[01:18:37] I've never watched it because just it's awful looking.

[01:18:41] The Titans pride.

[01:18:43] I don't know if you've ever seen images of that, but oh my God, it looks good.

[01:18:47] Well, it's whenever me and Alex go to Barnes and Noble now we walk through the manga section.

[01:18:51] We'll always be like, I'm like, Alex, here's a show for you.

[01:18:53] And I'll pull out the fucking Yuri that I find.

[01:18:55] And she always grabs the Yari.

[01:18:57] But it was a really good story.

[01:19:01] And like it ends up, I mean, he loses his powers at the end, which is the best part.

[01:19:08] They don't animate it, but it's great time.

[01:19:11] I shouldn't have Googled that.

[01:19:16] The best part is you can see it in the image, like in the screen.

[01:19:19] Your face.

[01:19:21] The Titan one or this one?

[01:19:24] The Titan one.

[01:19:26] The best is like Slay's just like.

[01:19:34] I'm sure it is hard.

[01:19:38] Anyways, moving on.

[01:19:43] Do you have any other honorable mentions, Alex?

[01:19:46] No, that's how I wanted to end it off.

[01:19:51] Matt, what were your honorable mentions?

[01:19:54] First off, Durarara and Durarara 2.

[01:19:58] I found those to be very enjoyable.

[01:20:00] It's the same author who wrote the Baccano books.

[01:20:05] And it has a very similar style to it.

[01:20:08] It's a very big ensemble cast.

[01:20:11] Like there's technically a main core group of characters, but there really isn't because it jumps between people constantly.

[01:20:18] But it takes place in modern Japan.

[01:20:20] And there's all sorts of crazy different supernatural aspects.

[01:20:24] It's like, you know, gang turf wars and shit like that.

[01:20:28] It's really fun.

[01:20:33] And Dr. Stone.

[01:20:35] I enjoyed Dr. Stone immensely.

[01:20:38] For me, don't get mad about this, Bill.

[01:20:40] I have mentioned this at Geek Addicts before.

[01:20:42] But I kind of had all the things that I liked about slime, but more so.

[01:20:46] Because the things I liked the most about slime were things like, they kind of like building up the community, building up the country, whatever.

[01:20:56] And that's kind of how Dr. Stone works, where they're building up a community and a...

[01:21:06] I can't think of the word, but...

[01:21:08] Civilization.

[01:21:08] Yeah, they're basically trying to restart civilization and everything.

[01:21:12] But it's based around science instead of fantasy magic and stuff.

[01:21:16] So I like that a lot.

[01:21:18] And I also really liked both Trigun series, but for completely different reasons.

[01:21:24] Nice.

[01:21:24] Nice.

[01:21:25] Because the original one is very silly and fun.

[01:21:28] And then the new one is just like...

[01:21:31] It still has some of that aspect to it, but it's grittier almost.

[01:21:36] Yeah, I agree.

[01:21:37] And I really enjoyed both, for sure.

[01:21:40] I agree.

[01:21:41] I enjoy both for different reasons.

[01:21:45] It's one of the few instances where the original anime and then the more manga-accurate anime are both really good.

[01:21:53] You know?

[01:21:54] There's a lot of cases where that isn't the case at all.

[01:21:58] Excuse me.

[01:22:03] And Slade, what are your honorable mentions?

[01:22:05] Yeah, I mentioned it briefly, but the movie Redline, the animated movie.

[01:22:09] It was also done by the same studio that did Neon Genesis.

[01:22:12] Everything is hand-drawn.

[01:22:14] It's all hand-animated.

[01:22:16] So when you go in and watch it, it's a stunning visual movie.

[01:22:20] It's tremendous.

[01:22:22] That one...

[01:22:24] Alya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian.

[01:22:26] I just thought this was going to be another silly, goofy little thing.

[01:22:30] And it is, but with progression and fun and a lot of shenanigans.

[01:22:34] And great memes came out of that.

[01:22:36] Speaking of memes...

[01:22:37] My dear friend Nokatan.

[01:22:39] Give me my brain rot anime.

[01:22:41] Oh, this is the deer.

[01:22:43] This is the deer.

[01:22:44] Yeah, just give me my brain rot anime.

[01:22:47] It's so, so dumb.

[01:22:49] I love the ending where it goes through the actual process of making the cookies.

[01:22:55] The deer crackers.

[01:22:56] Yeah.

[01:22:57] It's so good.

[01:22:58] I love it.

[01:22:59] It's so dumb.

[01:23:00] My Hero Academia Season 7.

[01:23:03] Boy, howdy.

[01:23:04] Oh, yeah.

[01:23:05] This almost got up to, you know, least favorite show of the year because of the first maybe

[01:23:10] six or seven episodes.

[01:23:11] It really, really drags.

[01:23:13] It has a bad case of, yeah, let's go fight the bad guy next time.

[01:23:16] We'll definitely go fight the bad guy.

[01:23:18] Hey, guess what?

[01:23:18] Yeah.

[01:23:18] We'll do it next time.

[01:23:19] But then, hey, you know when they show up to fight the bad guy?

[01:23:22] Holy shit, did it take a turn?

[01:23:24] It's like Goku charging up to fight Frieza for like 12 episodes.

[01:23:28] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:23:28] Let me tell you, when that spirit bomb finally goes off.

[01:23:33] And then it just ends and you're just like, fuck, I want more.

[01:23:37] Exactly.

[01:23:40] And then the last one, and we've already heard about this one, is Free Run Journey to the

[01:23:45] End.

[01:23:45] It's so good.

[01:23:46] I, you know, seen a lot of things about it.

[01:23:48] Just sat down one day and ended up watching like 13 episodes in a day.

[01:23:53] Yeah.

[01:23:54] Yeah.

[01:23:54] It holds you in.

[01:23:55] It's a nice slow journey, but everything builds and stacks and it really pays off.

[01:24:01] Yeah.

[01:24:01] Nice.

[01:24:02] I was going to try and watch that before the list, but like I saw it was like 20 something

[01:24:05] episodes.

[01:24:06] I was like, probably not going to have time for that one.

[01:24:08] So then I just watched the Konosuba spin off instead because that was more manageable.

[01:24:15] Yep.

[01:24:17] I guess one more I'll add is Bacchano.

[01:24:19] Bacchano was also a hidden gem for me.

[01:24:21] Thanks, Matt, for that bootleg.

[01:24:23] This goddamn finding that show is impossible now.

[01:24:26] Fucking Antiplex.

[01:24:28] Yeah.

[01:24:28] Yep.

[01:24:29] Once again.

[01:24:31] Everyone together.

[01:24:32] Fuck Antiplex.

[01:24:34] Yeah.

[01:24:36] You know what pisses me off the most about that?

[01:24:38] The fact that Sony owns Antiplex and Crunchyroll, like, and then there's still give this shit

[01:24:42] still happens.

[01:24:43] Yeah.

[01:24:45] All right.

[01:24:46] So this for me was the hardest question in this entire thing.

[01:24:51] Favorite color.

[01:24:54] Blue.

[01:24:55] No yellow.

[01:24:56] Looking at my theming for the podcast and all my stuff, I wonder what color my favorite

[01:25:01] color is.

[01:25:02] Anyways.

[01:25:03] Periwinkle.

[01:25:04] Yes.

[01:25:05] Obviously.

[01:25:06] Favorite opening.

[01:25:08] So obviously anime openings.

[01:25:10] This was a very broad subject and some openings go really hard.

[01:25:14] Yeah.

[01:25:15] For some reason, openings was harder than endings for me for a lot of reasons.

[01:25:19] So this one, of course, I tried to narrow it down to one.

[01:25:22] I gave up real quickly.

[01:25:24] And I have three.

[01:25:26] I have two.

[01:25:27] One's a joke, but that's just because I thought it was hilarious.

[01:25:30] So my first of my two favorites was Abyss by Youngblood, which was the opening theme

[01:25:35] to Kaiju number eight.

[01:25:37] It's just so weird hearing like an English band like doing an anime intro and it goes

[01:25:43] fucking hard.

[01:25:44] Like that one was really good.

[01:25:47] My other one was I'm probably going to butcher this.

[01:25:51] Shiryu by Yoroshika, the opening theme to Dangers in My Heart season one.

[01:25:57] Okay.

[01:25:58] Just something about acoustic guitar, bass and just like a very upbeat, like kind

[01:26:02] of like swinging, like swing style kind of song.

[01:26:05] I just every time that was like one of the because I'm usually a skipper, like I'll just

[01:26:09] skip the intros.

[01:26:10] That was one I didn't skip all the time because I just like that song a lot.

[01:26:13] And then my third mention, this one's a joke is Freckles from fucking Rurouni Kenshin

[01:26:17] because I've had that stuck in my head for fucking ever now.

[01:26:21] Particularly the English version with the English singer that's off key half the time.

[01:26:24] Um, the old, very good.

[01:26:28] I mean, the Japanese isn't any better, but the English one just makes it even better.

[01:26:31] The whole reason I love that song though is because like I had never seen Rurouni Kenshin

[01:26:35] before this year.

[01:26:37] Um, or was it last, whenever I started it.

[01:26:39] And, um, when I started the first episode that I hear that intro and it's like this weird,

[01:26:44] like eighties guitar going like, and I'm like, all right, what it is.

[01:26:48] And then it's all this in like drum beat and then just like, da, da, da, da, da, da, da,

[01:26:51] da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da.

[01:26:53] And I'm like, what the fuck is this?

[01:26:55] You know what I, go on.

[01:26:58] You know what's funny is when I asked this question last year, that's what you said.

[01:27:04] It was Freckles.

[01:27:04] It was Freckles.

[01:27:06] Fuck that.

[01:27:07] That song stays.

[01:27:08] I mean, it's a joke entry this year, but that song stays in your fucking head.

[01:27:12] Like my God.

[01:27:13] Right.

[01:27:14] Lives there run free.

[01:27:15] Yes.

[01:27:15] Cause it's so, it's such a clash.

[01:27:17] Like it's like, this doesn't work, but I love it.

[01:27:20] Uh, yeah.

[01:27:21] Youngblood though.

[01:27:22] And, uh, the dangers of my heart one that I can't pronounce.

[01:27:25] Um, so Alex, what was your favorite intro of the year?

[01:27:29] Uh, well, I have three.

[01:27:30] Cause I couldn't really decide.

[01:27:32] Uh, so one of them we actually already mentioned, but it was, uh, for, uh, Marshall season two.

[01:27:39] No, um, bling bong bong born.

[01:27:42] I still, I've, I put it on and like it, I have not gotten tired of it.

[01:27:47] Like it's just, yeah.

[01:27:49] And it shows up on Spotify and it's just like, oh, I like, I don't think I'll ever get tired

[01:27:54] of it.

[01:27:54] It's great.

[01:27:55] It made it into my raft.

[01:27:56] Um, it's on the playlist.

[01:28:01] I love that song.

[01:28:02] Then, um, be a flower.

[01:28:04] Um, by, I, I can't pronounce it.

[01:28:08] I'm sorry, but it was the Apocetary Diaries season one intro.

[01:28:12] Uh, the, so it had two intros.

[01:28:14] So the first intro of the Apocetary Diaries, uh, which was just like an awesome little rock

[01:28:19] song.

[01:28:20] Um, it was really good.

[01:28:22] I really liked it.

[01:28:23] It's a good bop.

[01:28:24] And then my last one was for the show that doesn't deserve it.

[01:28:28] Sesame by Croy for Bucci Geary.

[01:28:31] It is such a bop.

[01:28:32] And it's so like, it fits the show really good.

[01:28:35] And, oh, it didn't deserve it.

[01:28:38] It's a really good bop.

[01:28:39] And I listened to it on repeat.

[01:28:40] And the best part of the song isn't in the actual anime intro.

[01:28:45] I discovered it by listening to the offline where it just goes into the song and then

[01:28:48] the end, it just like turned into a rap breakdown out of nowhere, but it fits so well.

[01:28:53] And that's how the song ends.

[01:28:54] And it's a great bop.

[01:28:56] So don't watch the show.

[01:28:58] Just listen to the intro song.

[01:29:01] Nice.

[01:29:02] Yes.

[01:29:03] So Matt, what was your favorite intro?

[01:29:06] I also had three, but it was, it was hard for me because literally like I had to boil

[01:29:12] down both openings.

[01:29:13] Ironically, the same number for both.

[01:29:15] I had playlists for both opening and endings that I watched this year.

[01:29:18] I had the best I was able to do is boil it down to 19 on each.

[01:29:22] And I had to pick, I picked three for me, each of the playlists.

[01:29:26] Cause it was, it was a hard one, man.

[01:29:27] It was so many good ones.

[01:29:29] But my, my number one for openings was Water Carrier, the Sandland opening.

[01:29:36] That is a catchy song.

[01:29:37] So hard.

[01:29:38] It's not even just the song itself, but the, the animations that go along with it.

[01:29:42] Like I can't hear that song and not picture fucking Beelzebub breakdancing and

[01:29:46] Rouse jamming out of his acoustic.

[01:29:48] Like, see, I love that intro just because of the fact that like it shows all the characters

[01:29:53] from the second half of the show.

[01:29:54] And the whole time you're watching, like, when the fuck did these people show up?

[01:29:57] Yeah.

[01:29:58] But it's just, it's such a, I was, I've listened to that song so many times this year.

[01:30:03] It's insane.

[01:30:04] Um, also, uh, the, the second opening for Undead Unluck goes, goes very hard.

[01:30:14] Um, and what was it?

[01:30:16] The, the Trigon Stampede opening.

[01:30:18] Oh, yeah.

[01:30:19] That one is a little bit more of like a mellow type song, but it just, I love the sound of

[01:30:22] it.

[01:30:23] It fits the show very well.

[01:30:25] Like, I feel like, I love that one.

[01:30:28] It's a very haunting kind of sound, but it works so well.

[01:30:32] Nice.

[01:30:33] And, uh, Slate.

[01:30:35] Yeah.

[01:30:36] So I was a, I was a good noodle.

[01:30:37] It said favorite opening and not eggs.

[01:30:40] Hey, there's no rules.

[01:30:41] We got no rules in this.

[01:30:42] Hey, you know what you signed up for.

[01:30:45] So, uh, it's the intro for, uh, Monarchy, too many losing heroines.

[01:30:50] And I think that's going to have a little bit of recency bias, but it's one of those

[01:30:53] like anime intros that is just a upbeat little poppy little guitar riff, you know,

[01:31:00] romp that goes on and it fits the show so well.

[01:31:03] And it sticks with its attitude.

[01:31:05] Uh, it's, uh, Tiuso Garu Girl by Mosa and Bochi Boromaru.

[01:31:10] Nice.

[01:31:12] I love an intro that just sticks with you.

[01:31:15] Like the best intros are the ones you don't want to skip.

[01:31:17] Yeah.

[01:31:18] I was about to say, like, I have a very long playlist, uh, on Spotify that I've titled

[01:31:23] Hentai Jams and it's just all anime intros.

[01:31:27] Ironically, my anime playlist.

[01:31:29] So all of my playlists on Spotify have cursed as fuck names.

[01:31:32] Ironically, my anime playlist is like the most tame one because I'm pretty sure it's just,

[01:31:35] it's just my anime playlist or something dumb.

[01:31:38] Yeah.

[01:31:38] I gotta rename it at some point.

[01:31:40] Yeah.

[01:31:40] I just call it the Hentai Jams.

[01:31:42] And whenever somebody's like, I'll have it on my TV, like playing and somebody will do

[01:31:45] like a double take if they know kind of thing.

[01:31:48] See, that's not as bad as my, my alt metal playlist is called, um, I hate myself radio.

[01:31:53] I said, it's sad.

[01:31:55] I said, Alex didn't realize was a joke when I first sent it to her and I'm like, no, no,

[01:32:01] no, it's a joke.

[01:32:02] Don't worry.

[01:32:03] Well, it's like my figure collection off to the side.

[01:32:06] Uh, and it's only for those who understand or know, uh, there's a Mason jar in the center

[01:32:11] of the figure collection, but Levi standing on top of it.

[01:32:15] Don't worry.

[01:32:15] He's got it.

[01:32:16] He'll.

[01:32:16] All right.

[01:32:17] That's like my favorite meme I shared a while ago where they did, um, they did a Yuri

[01:32:21] from, uh, Doki Doki Literature Club.

[01:32:22] Yeah.

[01:32:23] And the, one of the faces is like her looking scared and shocked, which is from the game,

[01:32:28] but like on the Android it's perfect.

[01:32:31] And I just saw a comment that was like, ah, perfect face for the jar.

[01:32:35] I was just like, I'm like, that's sick, but I love it.

[01:32:38] Oh, it's really funny.

[01:32:40] Um, so, uh, favorite ending.

[01:32:43] This one for me, theoretically should have been harder, but, um, there was one song in

[01:32:49] particular that just fucking immediately just fucking like done.

[01:32:53] Um, so my favorite open ending of the year was burning by, I'm not even going to try to

[01:32:58] pronounce that, um, from Oshinoko season two.

[01:33:02] This song goes so fucking hard.

[01:33:05] Like, yeah, I was going to say like, you'll be watching an episode.

[01:33:09] And then the second you hear that drum beat, you're like, oh, the episode's over.

[01:33:12] Yeah.

[01:33:13] You're like, you're just like, damn it.

[01:33:15] But now I get to listen to this nice pop.

[01:33:16] Yeah.

[01:33:18] I'm going to go and spoil mine.

[01:33:19] It's the same as Bill's, but it's just that you hear, you watch the finished episode.

[01:33:22] It's that super deep, like grungy guitar riff.

[01:33:25] Oh yeah.

[01:33:25] And you're just like, how, how is the outro so much better than the intro of this season?

[01:33:29] The intro is good too, though.

[01:33:31] That's the sad part, but the outro is just so freaking hard.

[01:33:35] Like, I love it too, how they always, they frame it during the episodes too, because the

[01:33:38] drum beat will start playing during a scene at like the final dialogue scene.

[01:33:42] So it just seamlessly goes right into it.

[01:33:43] And then you just get that fucking like alt metal sound.

[01:33:46] Yeah.

[01:33:47] Really like emo-ish grungy, like just singing.

[01:33:50] It's, it works so well and it fits this, the vibe of this season in a lot of ways.

[01:33:55] The only other like intro that really came close was, I forget the name of the song, but the

[01:34:04] outro for Kaiju number eight.

[01:34:08] Nobody.

[01:34:09] Nobody by One Republic.

[01:34:12] And this one, it's so, yeah.

[01:34:15] And it's really good.

[01:34:16] It's really good.

[01:34:19] What's hilarious though, is like the reason why that one sticks with me so much is like

[01:34:22] at work.

[01:34:23] It's happened twice now.

[01:34:25] I've been like at work, just like running a machine.

[01:34:28] All of a sudden I just hear nobody, nobody, nobody.

[01:34:31] I'm not even going to try.

[01:34:33] And I'm just like sitting here.

[01:34:34] I know it was bad.

[01:34:37] What's hilarious though, is like, I'd be sitting there and I'd be like, Hey, it's the

[01:34:39] Kaiju number eight theme.

[01:34:41] And I'd be like, I'd check my Spotify.

[01:34:42] I'm like, is my plan in my plus play.

[01:34:44] And then I'd walk around like, where's it coming from?

[01:34:47] It was a coworker and he had no idea.

[01:34:49] And then a week later, a different coworker had it playing.

[01:34:53] I'm just like, God damn, this song's everywhere.

[01:34:57] Yeah.

[01:34:58] So what was your favorite ending, Alex?

[01:35:00] So I, I was not a good noodle.

[01:35:06] Unlike Slade, if I had three.

[01:35:09] Again, because I couldn't decide.

[01:35:11] Exactly.

[01:35:11] See, I actually, I was the good noodle because I came in knowing that there's no rules on

[01:35:16] the GNC podcast.

[01:35:17] That is singular, not plural.

[01:35:19] So I'm going to stick with my good noodle.

[01:35:22] No, I read the fine print.

[01:35:25] It was there.

[01:35:26] It's just very.

[01:35:26] Alex wrote the fine print.

[01:35:27] I did.

[01:35:28] Yeah.

[01:35:28] In the wrong order.

[01:35:29] I'm going to edit it right now.

[01:35:31] Anyways, my first one was Kaiju number eight.

[01:35:35] Nobody by One Republic.

[01:35:37] It's such a good bump.

[01:35:38] And it just kind of leaves you like a feel good note at the end of the show, which is always

[01:35:42] kind of nice.

[01:35:44] Especially like it's very different from the intro to where the intro is more dark and spooky.

[01:35:49] And then this one's just more like, yeah, happy.

[01:35:53] And it's a good balance of like the seriousness, but the comedic elements of the show.

[01:35:58] I feel like then my next one was Oshinoko season two, Burnin'.

[01:36:04] I also agree.

[01:36:06] It like definitely by the end too, like it just, it got you hyped to watch the next episode

[01:36:11] too.

[01:36:11] And you're like, I can't, I gotta keep, I gotta keep going.

[01:36:14] There's also an English version of that song.

[01:36:16] She recorded it twice in English and Japanese.

[01:36:19] So it's kind of like how Idol had an English version as well.

[01:36:23] Yeah.

[01:36:23] Yeah.

[01:36:24] And then my last one was actually the ending theme to Free Run, Anytime, Anywhere.

[01:36:31] I just really like it.

[01:36:33] It's just a really nice song.

[01:36:34] And I appreciate how like the first season takes the first half of the song.

[01:36:38] And then the second season is the second half of the song.

[01:36:41] So you do get to enjoy the full thing if you watch the full season.

[01:36:45] And I just love that ending theme, like the art of it, where it's almost like these, like,

[01:36:51] like, it's not hand drawn, but it's like they crafted it and it's, it's very pretty.

[01:36:56] It's just a very nice song and it wraps the show up and you're just like, you leave on

[01:37:00] a feel good note, which is like the vibe of the show.

[01:37:03] So yeah.

[01:37:05] Nice.

[01:37:08] So Matt, what was your favorite ending?

[01:37:10] So, um, like Alex, I also had three.

[01:37:15] Not a good doodle either.

[01:37:16] No.

[01:37:17] And also like Alex, number one was Nobody.

[01:37:20] Yeah.

[01:37:21] It's a good song.

[01:37:23] Like it's just a good song.

[01:37:25] It is.

[01:37:26] Um, but then I also had, uh, I don't know which ending it is, but it's a life that one of

[01:37:31] the Dr.

[01:37:32] Stone endings.

[01:37:33] Oh, yes.

[01:37:34] I really like that one.

[01:37:35] Very, very good.

[01:37:35] Uh, and also Happiness of the Dead, the Zom 100 ending.

[01:37:40] Mm.

[01:37:41] That is a catchy song.

[01:37:42] That's a good one too.

[01:37:43] Yeah.

[01:37:46] It's burning.

[01:37:49] Just play the drum beat like.

[01:37:51] Yeah.

[01:37:52] Yeah, exactly.

[01:37:53] Exactly.

[01:37:53] It's just burning.

[01:37:54] It's, it's so good.

[01:37:56] Yep.

[01:37:57] Kind of bummed.

[01:37:57] We didn't have a Kaguya Sama season this year, so we didn't get another one of those awesome

[01:38:01] songs.

[01:38:01] Yeah.

[01:38:02] No Daddy Daddy Do.

[01:38:04] I still like Life's a Show is my favorite one.

[01:38:07] Daddy Daddy Do.

[01:38:08] Daddy Daddy Daddy Do is my favorite.

[01:38:10] Yes.

[01:38:10] Yes.

[01:38:12] They're all, they're all good girl, girl.

[01:38:14] Um, well, it's like, I'm surprised you didn't have a Kanesuba like intro because they're

[01:38:17] all like, they're all good, but yeah, they all kind of blend together for me.

[01:38:22] Like, so I couldn't pick one up specifically.

[01:38:24] Well, they're all, they're all about the same artists though.

[01:38:25] So it kind of makes sense.

[01:38:26] Yeah.

[01:38:27] I do got to give a shout out to John Jacket John just because I'm happy that we got a Dragon

[01:38:31] Ball song that I liked.

[01:38:33] Yeah.

[01:38:33] I'm still disappointed by that, that first super opening.

[01:38:36] I did not like it and I still do not like it.

[01:38:39] Yeah.

[01:38:40] But then you got Limit Break Survivor, which is just amazing.

[01:38:42] Just goes super hard.

[01:38:43] Yes.

[01:38:44] And it's finally, it's finally on Spotify.

[01:38:46] God damn it.

[01:38:47] Yes.

[01:38:49] Um, all right.

[01:38:51] And then the final question, this one is very broad.

[01:38:53] Um, it is, what are we looking forward to next year?

[01:38:57] Um, for me, there's a shit ton of season twos and season threes coming out next year that

[01:39:02] I am hyped for.

[01:39:03] Like my happy marriage, solo leveling, kaiju number eight, just to name a few.

[01:39:10] Um, I also, oh, uh, Jujutsu, uh, Spy Family season three, Jujutsu Kaisen season.

[01:39:16] And whatever the next arc is supposed to be, it's a weird name.

[01:39:20] Um, also long awaited productions.

[01:39:24] Like when is that damn Chainsaw Man movie coming out?

[01:39:27] Cause I want to see that.

[01:39:30] Freaking, uh, Mapa, hurry up.

[01:39:31] The hype for that show is dying.

[01:39:33] Like you gotta put something out.

[01:39:35] I don't know.

[01:39:35] Every time a new chapter comes on Twitter, that's like the first thing trending.

[01:39:39] So chapters do, but like the anime, everyone's just kind of like, eh, on it right now, which

[01:39:44] I get because it's, they, it's been a weird, like, yeah.

[01:39:48] I mean, at least people, they acknowledge Chainsaw Man.

[01:39:50] They don't even acknowledge One Punch Man season three.

[01:39:53] So.

[01:39:53] Hey, they did recently.

[01:39:55] They did something.

[01:39:57] Some sort of announcement came out recently.

[01:39:59] I mean, I, I still don't believe it's going to happen, but you know.

[01:40:02] I just love Mapa logic.

[01:40:03] Like they're like, ah, good.

[01:40:04] We're done with Attack on Titan.

[01:40:06] We finally have time to focus on everything else.

[01:40:07] Let's, let's do every fucking show now.

[01:40:12] Well, didn't they, um, they like put a bid in for that new manga series that was like,

[01:40:19] was it by the demon that it like came out and it like went to number one immediately.

[01:40:24] Do you know which one I'm talking about?

[01:40:26] He has like black hair, red eyes.

[01:40:29] Where's the black?

[01:40:30] I probably know it if I saw it, but.

[01:40:32] But I guess they were, they were bidding for it and like the company, the manga artists

[01:40:38] or like whoever was presenting them was just like, no, you're too busy.

[01:40:42] And they said they declined Mapa because of it.

[01:40:45] I was reading that.

[01:40:47] Yeah.

[01:40:47] They are too busy.

[01:40:48] Like hell, just trying to get Jujutsu Kaisen out alone.

[01:40:50] Yeah.

[01:40:50] It was like, it's like all that for just a bunch of sad.

[01:40:54] Like, um, that's mostly what I'm hyped for.

[01:40:58] Just like stuff that has been announced for a while and like just season, season twos

[01:41:03] and threes.

[01:41:04] We got a lot beginning next year.

[01:41:06] So.

[01:41:07] Yep.

[01:41:08] So what are you looking forward to, Alex?

[01:41:10] Yeah.

[01:41:11] Well, I'm looking forward to, you know, finishing up Dun to Dun, Tower of God season two and

[01:41:16] obviously continuing One Piece.

[01:41:18] Uh, I'm also looking forward to continuing Blue Lock because we finally got through the

[01:41:22] garbage animation and we're into the good stuff now.

[01:41:25] Uh, lots of butt shots, which I wasn't expecting, but hey, the animators are having a great time

[01:41:31] with that.

[01:41:31] So let's go.

[01:41:33] Um, but it did, it's getting much better.

[01:41:36] So they're clearly are, they did not spend any money, but no more PowerPoint animation.

[01:41:40] Let's go.

[01:41:41] Uh, I'm not kidding.

[01:41:43] Look at the clips.

[01:41:44] Uh, but other stuff I'm looking forward to, you know, Kaiju number eight season two.

[01:41:49] So the leveling season two, Pocket Theory Diaries season two, My Happy Marriage season

[01:41:54] two, Oshinoko season three, Free Ring season two.

[01:41:57] And some of these might not happen next year, but you never know.

[01:42:00] Um, Spy Family season three, Windbreaker season two, Dora Hidoro season two.

[01:42:06] They announced it.

[01:42:06] Maybe it'll be out.

[01:42:07] Hopefully.

[01:42:08] Uh, Dr. Stone Science Future.

[01:42:10] I'm also a really big fan of Dr. Stone and I can't wait for that.

[01:42:14] Uh, Shangri-Li Frontier season two, which is out.

[01:42:17] I'm just waiting for the dub to finish.

[01:42:20] Hell's Paradise, you know, One Punch Man, maybe if we all take a prayer, it'll come

[01:42:24] out, but I kind of doubt it.

[01:42:26] I feel like they're just, they're lying to us.

[01:42:28] I think there's more luck.

[01:42:29] I think we got more luck with Comey getting a new, another season at this point.

[01:42:33] And lastly, I can't wait, but welcome to Demon School of Rumor season four to come out

[01:42:38] so I can torture Bill with another intro song.

[01:42:42] Hopefully it's another bop and I freaking love that show.

[01:42:46] So I want another season and they finally announced it.

[01:42:48] So yay.

[01:42:50] Nice.

[01:42:51] Yes.

[01:42:52] Um, so Matt, what are you looking forward to next year?

[01:42:56] A lot more stuff than, than the last time.

[01:42:58] I'll say that much.

[01:42:59] Um, fucking JJK season three, Kenshin remake season two, which should be close to being done

[01:43:06] with the dub, but I'm just waiting for it to wrap up.

[01:43:08] Um, let's see.

[01:43:10] Trigon Stampede season two.

[01:43:12] Oh, I forgot to put that on there.

[01:43:15] Thank you.

[01:43:16] Well, now that I know Vending Machine season two, um,

[01:43:21] Hello there.

[01:43:22] Yeah.

[01:43:24] Undead Unluck.

[01:43:25] That was too accurate.

[01:43:28] Um, Dr. Joan.

[01:43:32] Stop.

[01:43:33] Please insure coins.

[01:43:36] Um, ah, that's my train of thought.

[01:43:43] I'll, I'll build fault.

[01:43:45] Yeah.

[01:43:46] Oh, oh, um, fucking since I don't think I'm going to have a chance to see it this year.

[01:43:51] Um, war of the Rohirrim.

[01:43:54] I really want to watch that.

[01:43:55] It's really bad.

[01:43:56] Okay.

[01:43:59] Uh, what was the other one?

[01:44:00] Fuck.

[01:44:01] Oh, Stephanie Dodani's return as Goku in the Dragon Ball Diamond dub.

[01:44:06] That's super exciting because I never thought we were going to get that again.

[01:44:09] And no offense to her.

[01:44:11] Really glad it's not going to be Colin Klingbeard.

[01:44:13] She's a great actress.

[01:44:14] She's not my Goku.

[01:44:15] Well, no, she just sounds like Luffy and it's like really off-putting.

[01:44:18] Exactly.

[01:44:19] Um, and now that it's finally been announced, Steel Ball fucking run.

[01:44:24] Oh my God.

[01:44:25] We're going to put that out.

[01:44:26] Yes.

[01:44:27] Yep.

[01:44:28] That too.

[01:44:28] So that's super exciting.

[01:44:32] So, yeah.

[01:44:33] Uh, so things, uh, to look forward to finally my dress up darling season two.

[01:44:38] Finally, it's coming 2025.

[01:44:40] Uh, I'm caught up.

[01:44:41] It's one of the few mangas I buy physically, but, uh, knowing shenanigans of where things

[01:44:45] go, I'm really excited to see what happens.

[01:44:47] Is there a reason that series is wrapped?

[01:44:48] I'm just, I'm just curious.

[01:44:50] Yeah.

[01:44:51] Is it, is it porny?

[01:44:53] No.

[01:44:54] No.

[01:44:54] Is it glory?

[01:44:55] No.

[01:44:56] Why is it?

[01:44:57] No, that's a rule.

[01:44:59] Why is it wrapped?

[01:45:00] Well, why is it sealed?

[01:45:01] You know it's sealed if it's either horny or it's horny.

[01:45:04] I mean, it's horny or it's horny.

[01:45:08] Look, it's the, it's the internal cover art is what it's sealed for.

[01:45:11] Okay.

[01:45:11] Gotcha.

[01:45:12] Gotcha.

[01:45:12] Okay.

[01:45:13] So we have that, uh, the one.

[01:45:15] Are you the one unsealing it in our Barnes and Noble?

[01:45:17] No, I'm just kidding.

[01:45:18] Shut up.

[01:45:19] So, uh, the, uh, the title alone has me ready to watch this one, but it is, I will solo any

[01:45:26] boss to clock out on time.

[01:45:29] Uh, because man, I feel that so much.

[01:45:32] Yup.

[01:45:33] Uh, my hero season eight, uh, girls and the Panzer DAS final part four.

[01:45:38] You have Jojo part seven, but there's also the little known, uh, it's finally getting

[01:45:42] done, but it's the, uh, it's an after story for, uh, not golden wind.

[01:45:48] Uh, diamonds is unbreakable.

[01:45:50] No, it's, it's where it's, uh, Josuke and whole horse.

[01:45:54] Oh, I just bought the manga for that.

[01:45:56] Yeah.

[01:45:57] That's getting animated as well.

[01:45:58] Oh.

[01:46:00] Yeah.

[01:46:01] Uh, again, Chainsaw Man, the Rize arc, that getting a movie, that's going to be a lot of

[01:46:05] fun.

[01:46:06] That's going to be so weird for like the, the anime only people who've never seen the manga

[01:46:10] watching that for the first time.

[01:46:11] Um, again, I'm a lot further ahead than you are because, you know, I'm definitely reading

[01:46:15] it the legal way, but it's, uh, oh boy.

[01:46:18] You're sailing the seven seas.

[01:46:20] Yeah.

[01:46:21] It's as close as I'll get the one piece.

[01:46:24] I'm only up to volume 16, which is only getting weirder.

[01:46:29] Um, but we have that, uh, the fragrant flower blooms with dignity.

[01:46:33] This one keeps showing up as like, you know, clips from the manga and it all looks really

[01:46:37] nice.

[01:46:38] Uh, supposed to be like another love story thing and people are saying that they like

[01:46:41] it better than my dress up darling.

[01:46:43] And I just have to say, how dare you?

[01:46:45] But you know, we'll sit there and watch.

[01:46:47] Uh, and the weird one as well for me would be that, uh, the one piece remake, you know,

[01:46:54] doing that for an anime that's not done.

[01:46:55] I'm going to give it another shot because I think the voice casting English and Japanese

[01:47:00] in one piece is like nails on a chalkboard.

[01:47:03] I can't listen to it either way.

[01:47:05] I hate both.

[01:47:06] So I'm hoping that this improves that and, you know, makes it bearable.

[01:47:13] Well, the, the fans are going to like destroy everything.

[01:47:18] If it's not the same cast.

[01:47:20] It's supposed to be a different voice cast.

[01:47:22] That's right.

[01:47:23] In English or Japanese?

[01:47:25] Yes.

[01:47:27] Ooh, that's well.

[01:47:28] Well, didn't you say that the voice actor for Frankie, um, retired the Japanese voice

[01:47:33] actor.

[01:47:35] He did.

[01:47:35] I saw that.

[01:47:36] I was sad.

[01:47:37] Super.

[01:47:38] That's going to be interesting.

[01:47:40] Yeah.

[01:47:40] It's actually kind of funny.

[01:47:41] You mentioned, uh, my dress up darling getting a season two.

[01:47:44] I was thinking about, cause they, that was one of like the big four of like the rom-coms

[01:47:49] that came out a while back.

[01:47:50] Yes.

[01:47:51] And like, that's like, I think the only one that's still going.

[01:47:54] Yeah.

[01:47:55] Yeah.

[01:47:55] And it's, it's still good.

[01:47:57] Um, where those two end up and how long it takes to get there is not too bad, but it's

[01:48:03] more like, uh, actually now that I think about it, they're all together now.

[01:48:06] Just call me and Tadno are together.

[01:48:08] Yeah.

[01:48:09] Nagatoro.

[01:48:09] Nagatoro is over.

[01:48:10] That's done.

[01:48:11] Yeah.

[01:48:11] They find even the, the rent a girlfriend dude finally got together.

[01:48:15] Oh, I heard that one's miserable to get through.

[01:48:18] So yeah.

[01:48:19] Yeah.

[01:48:21] I want to throw out since, since it wasn't one of the questions this time, Bill.

[01:48:26] Um, I did have, I actually have an answer for disappointment.

[01:48:32] It was one of the ones from last year.

[01:48:33] Oh yeah.

[01:48:34] I took disappointment out cause I think I put it with, um, least favorite or something.

[01:48:39] Yeah.

[01:48:39] Yeah.

[01:48:40] Well, I have, I have an answer for this one because, uh, uh, I actually finished it yesterday.

[01:48:45] Supervisor Reservoir Chronicles.

[01:48:47] I absolutely fucking adored it only to finish it and find that, uh, it's been over for over

[01:48:53] 15 years and we have not, and will not ever get an ending for the anime.

[01:48:58] Oh, so that's really upsetting.

[01:49:00] I forgot one of my things to look forward to.

[01:49:03] There's the, uh, attack on Titans movie, which essentially the final parts three and

[01:49:08] four together coming out in theaters.

[01:49:11] They essentially kind of already are movies, but I know, I know, but they cleaned up and

[01:49:19] polished the animation, which I don't know how they could do that even more.

[01:49:21] And it's with the, uh, it's with the manga's ending now, which is super cool to see.

[01:49:27] Yeah.

[01:49:27] It's actually got the manga's like last couple of pages.

[01:49:30] Oh, interesting.

[01:49:31] All right.

[01:49:32] That's a post credit scene.

[01:49:34] Now I'll make the watches so we can go see it in the, how long were you planning that?

[01:49:43] Oh, I wrote that a while ago.

[01:49:44] I was waiting for someone to bring it up again.

[01:49:46] We did it while we were talking.

[01:49:47] Yeah.

[01:49:48] I was going to say, uh, I guess for me, I also have a most disappointing, uh, kind of

[01:49:53] on similar lines, um, which is Nana because the story is so great, but then you find out

[01:49:59] that the manga just never was finished either.

[01:50:02] So it's not even that the show just finished and there was no content.

[01:50:07] The manga creator, I believe was like sick or they took a break and they just never finished

[01:50:12] the story.

[01:50:13] Oh.

[01:50:14] And it's just, yeah.

[01:50:15] So like you watch this great series and like, you're interested in how it's going and it's

[01:50:21] and then you're just like, oh, I guess that's it.

[01:50:25] There's nothing left.

[01:50:27] Uh, it was pretty sad.

[01:50:28] So I agree.

[01:50:29] Kind of silly.

[01:50:30] That would be my most disappointing.

[01:50:32] I don't think I have a most disappointing.

[01:50:34] Maybe Dan to Dan can get that too.

[01:50:38] For me, I think if I was going to say most disappointing, um, I think for me, it might

[01:50:43] just be the amount of like stillborn shows there've been recently that have like had

[01:50:47] like a season or two and then they're just, that's it.

[01:50:50] Yep.

[01:50:51] Yeah.

[01:50:52] The worst for me is when it's a show that like, like spy family is running into this

[01:50:56] problem.

[01:50:56] I love spy family.

[01:50:57] I'm not trying to dis spy family at all, but like they are constantly on the edge of being

[01:51:02] like out of material to use like constantly.

[01:51:05] Um, which is understandable because it's super successful.

[01:51:08] Um, but then you get like shows like Komi, which there is a shitload of content for Komi

[01:51:14] to animate, but they got two seasons or technically one season when you really think about it.

[01:51:19] Yeah.

[01:51:19] And it literally ends right at the point where it gets really interesting.

[01:51:24] Yeah.

[01:51:24] So if spy family sticks to 12ers, then it should be able to hold out.

[01:51:29] So we'll see.

[01:51:30] Yeah.

[01:51:31] I just, it's similar to black clover.

[01:51:33] Well, like how like it, it ends and then it's like starting to get really good and you're

[01:51:38] just like, damn it.

[01:51:39] Like, but it doesn't seem like there's going to be a new one anytime soon.

[01:51:43] I also, my coworker started watching.

[01:51:45] I'm like, I'm sorry, but you're going to be disappointed when there's no more content

[01:51:48] left to watch.

[01:51:49] Well, I still think like nothing's worse than like Rurouni Kenshin 96 where like they

[01:51:54] caught up to the manga after season two and then rather than just wait, they just made

[01:51:59] this filler shit for like an entire season and it was so badly received the show got canceled

[01:52:04] before they could adapt anything else.

[01:52:06] I feel like a lot of shows like have stopped.

[01:52:08] Like, I feel like you don't see that as much anymore.

[01:52:12] Like the last one that really did that was like Fullmetal Alchemist.

[01:52:16] Yeah.

[01:52:16] That's like the notorious one for doing that.

[01:52:18] Well, it's weird though.

[01:52:19] Cause with that one, some fans really love the O3 series.

[01:52:23] The original house thing had a weird thing too.

[01:52:26] Like that.

[01:52:26] Yeah.

[01:52:27] I didn't like the weird Hellraiser guy.

[01:52:29] He was, I didn't get that.

[01:52:32] I mean, fruit baskets was kind of bad too, just in the sense that the manga artists hated

[01:52:36] it the entire way through.

[01:52:38] Yeah.

[01:52:38] And they fucked up the ending.

[01:52:39] I'm still not mad about that.

[01:52:40] I mean, I'm still not, still not over that.

[01:52:43] Yeah.

[01:52:44] Yeah.

[01:52:45] I thought it would be, I thought it would be fun if obviously within reason, obviously,

[01:52:50] but I thought it would be fun to give each other homework for the next one.

[01:52:55] Ooh.

[01:52:56] Ooh.

[01:52:56] Ooh.

[01:52:59] All right.

[01:53:00] I think we know what Bill's assignment is.

[01:53:02] So I'm putting this in the group chat.

[01:53:04] So we're going to have this in writing.

[01:53:05] Bill.

[01:53:06] Oh God.

[01:53:07] I think if you just, I think if you scroll up, you'll find that from last year as well.

[01:53:11] Bill, we have Attack on Titan.

[01:53:13] Alex, what do we give Alex for home?

[01:53:15] Dragon Ball Z.

[01:53:16] That's been hers for like a year now.

[01:53:18] All right.

[01:53:19] Well, my, my thought was that we each pick something that we know that the others haven't

[01:53:23] watched.

[01:53:23] Okay.

[01:53:24] Like, like a general, like that way it's kind of a little bit more fair.

[01:53:29] Sharing magic.

[01:53:30] That's fine.

[01:53:32] I'm not changing bills though.

[01:53:33] I'm not changing it.

[01:53:36] Fair.

[01:53:38] So for me personally, I, if, if I'm not sure if Slade's watched it, but I'm pretty sure

[01:53:45] the two of you haven't.

[01:53:47] Darker Than Black.

[01:53:48] Darker Than Black.

[01:53:48] At least the first, the first season of Darker Than Black.

[01:53:51] It's hard to find.

[01:53:52] Bill has it.

[01:53:53] I gave it to him digitally when I was over the past weekend.

[01:53:55] So at least Bill and Alex have access to it.

[01:53:57] I'm sorry, Slade.

[01:53:58] I don't know how you're going to get it because it's expensive as fuck.

[01:54:01] They'll fail the seven C's.

[01:54:03] Yeah.

[01:54:03] That's probably the best advice I could give.

[01:54:06] So it's called Black Magic?

[01:54:07] Darker Than Black.

[01:54:09] Darker Than Black.

[01:54:10] Yes.

[01:54:11] It's a, it's an anime only show.

[01:54:14] There's no module for it or anything.

[01:54:15] Okay.

[01:54:16] But it's a very fun, of course, fucking Antiplex.

[01:54:19] Right.

[01:54:20] But it's, it's incredible.

[01:54:22] And I love the opening for it too.

[01:54:24] It's, it's really fun.

[01:54:25] All right.

[01:54:28] All right.

[01:54:28] Who needs homework?

[01:54:30] Alex and Matt still need homework.

[01:54:32] Well, Alex is Dragon Ball Z.

[01:54:34] Like that's been her homework for a while now.

[01:54:35] Any particular Dragon Ball Z, Matt?

[01:54:38] Probably the original.

[01:54:40] Probably the, well, I mean, I'd be happy with either, but the original is, is the original.

[01:54:46] So.

[01:54:46] She'll miss out on the great.

[01:54:48] Dragon Ball Z is what you're saying?

[01:54:51] Well, no, you're doing it in reverse.

[01:54:52] So you got to watch Z first and then Dragon Ball.

[01:54:54] Yes.

[01:54:54] Well, if we're being realistic, if she's really, truly doing reverse, she should be watching

[01:54:59] GT next.

[01:55:00] Yeah.

[01:55:00] But then she'll never watch Dragon Ball again.

[01:55:02] Yeah.

[01:55:02] I don't want to do that to myself.

[01:55:05] I will watch Dragon Ball.

[01:55:07] I swear on the Snapple Ice T.

[01:55:11] I will watch Dragon Ball Z.

[01:55:15] I'm not going to swear on anything.

[01:55:21] But I also like, I watched a lot, so I don't need to worry about that.

[01:55:25] I'll do.

[01:55:26] Now you've already absolutely annihilated this year, so I don't think you have to worry about

[01:55:31] quantity next year.

[01:55:32] No, yeah.

[01:55:32] I'm good.

[01:55:33] So I will watch Dragon.

[01:55:34] I promise I will watch Dragon Ball Z.

[01:55:37] I'll start it tomorrow.

[01:55:40] Matt, is it Darker Than Black, Gemini of the Meteor?

[01:55:44] That is season two.

[01:55:45] I do not recommend watching that one.

[01:55:48] Okay.

[01:55:49] Season two.

[01:55:49] I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with season two, because it completely changed

[01:55:52] the entire tone of the show.

[01:55:54] But season one is kind of like, season one does it like two-part stories.

[01:56:00] Every story is like two episodes.

[01:56:03] Gotcha.

[01:56:03] Gotcha.

[01:56:04] It's kind of like an anthology in that way, but there's like an overarching story going

[01:56:08] throughout.

[01:56:09] It's kind of like Cowboy Bebop in that way.

[01:56:11] Gotcha.

[01:56:11] All right.

[01:56:12] So what do we assign, Matt?

[01:56:14] What do we assign, Matt?

[01:56:16] Odd Taxi.

[01:56:17] I mean, I'm already going to watch Oshinoko season two.

[01:56:20] I'm already going to watch Down to the End, so don't even bother with those.

[01:56:22] Okay.

[01:56:22] Can't bother with those.

[01:56:24] Oh, I might have had it.

[01:56:26] I think Alex should pick it, because I picked Bills.

[01:56:29] Let me...

[01:56:30] I think you all picked mine.

[01:56:32] Yeah.

[01:56:32] Well, yeah.

[01:56:32] It was a mutual decision of being to watch this.

[01:56:37] Let me see.

[01:56:38] There was another one I had.

[01:56:39] Have you seen Tower of God?

[01:56:42] No.

[01:56:43] Okay.

[01:56:43] Good.

[01:56:45] For Shield Hero, one of the parts that I feel like is one of the best parts is that it really

[01:56:50] just makes you hate some of the characters with passion.

[01:56:55] And Tower of God will do that to you, but it will surprise you when...

[01:57:00] So that's a good one.

[01:57:01] I would say either watch Tower of God or watch Odd Taxi, because those two were kind of like,

[01:57:07] I think, really good.

[01:57:08] But Odd Taxi is such a trip.

[01:57:10] You got to pick one?

[01:57:12] Do Odd Taxi.

[01:57:13] It's a trip.

[01:57:13] Okay.

[01:57:14] And it has a really great intro.

[01:57:15] So watch that one.

[01:57:17] And it's only 12.

[01:57:18] Fair enough.

[01:57:19] I get 100-something.

[01:57:22] 200.

[01:57:22] And you get 12.

[01:57:22] It's not fair.

[01:57:24] Almost three.

[01:57:24] There we go.

[01:57:25] Almost 291.

[01:57:27] This doesn't seem fair!

[01:57:28] Why is my assignment bigger?

[01:57:31] It's Dragon Ball, though.

[01:57:32] That shit will fly by.

[01:57:34] Yeah, it'll be quick.

[01:57:35] All right.

[01:57:37] And you get to see the driving lesson episode.

[01:57:40] That's like the best filler ever.

[01:57:42] And to be fair, if you're going to watch Dima, you kind of need the context for Z.

[01:57:46] Damn it!

[01:57:46] All right.

[01:57:47] Because a lot of Dima is based off the Boo saga.

[01:57:50] Okay.

[01:57:52] All right.

[01:57:53] I will watch Z.

[01:57:54] There we go.

[01:57:55] So we have everybody's objective for next year.

[01:57:57] We'll add this to the rules.

[01:57:58] Let's see who does their homework.

[01:58:01] Yeah.

[01:58:02] Wait.

[01:58:03] Should there be some sort of like...

[01:58:07] Should we do like a challenge?

[01:58:09] Like, if you don't do it, you have to do something else.

[01:58:12] Or someone asks you.

[01:58:13] No, you just get to get shamed.

[01:58:15] Someone can steal your podcast for the day.

[01:58:17] No.

[01:58:17] Oh, no.

[01:58:17] You can steal it and do your own.

[01:58:20] Alex doesn't watch Attack on Titan, then GNC is just going to be the water bottle podcast for it.

[01:58:24] Yes.

[01:58:25] Yeah.

[01:58:25] Yeah.

[01:58:26] See, this doesn't affect Alex at all.

[01:58:27] Because she'd just be like, whatever.

[01:58:30] I know.

[01:58:31] That's why I suggested it.

[01:58:33] Well, no.

[01:58:34] Because see, what happens is if Alex doesn't watch Dragon Ball Z, I'm going to have Bill sneak into our house and swap out all your One Piece manga with Dragon Ball.

[01:58:42] No!

[01:58:44] That's a lot of work, though.

[01:58:45] Like, there's a lot more books than there is Dragon Ball books.

[01:58:49] I mean, the Z books, the Z in original are heavier because they're biz bigs.

[01:58:53] But, like, that's a lot of three and ones.

[01:58:55] Well, Bill has two podcasts.

[01:58:57] So we can just-

[01:58:58] Excuse me.

[01:58:58] You have a truck.

[01:58:59] You have a truck.

[01:59:00] You'll be fine.

[01:59:04] And we're back.

[01:59:05] Wait.

[01:59:05] It was pause?

[01:59:07] Yeah.

[01:59:11] Wow.

[01:59:12] He did it real fast.

[01:59:13] I was confused because I didn't even know what was going on.

[01:59:15] Once I learned that StreamYards has a pause feature, I'm like, oh, this is so convenient.

[01:59:18] I don't have to edit anything.

[01:59:20] It's a lot easier.

[01:59:21] It's been so helpful.

[01:59:23] On the subject, that audio problem we were having with the Deadpool Wolverine episode we did, you can only hear it in the actual episode towards the end when it came back.

[01:59:32] So that was good.

[01:59:35] Yeah.

[01:59:36] So I guess before we wrap up, anyone got any final things they want to add?

[01:59:41] Did we want to talk manga a little bit?

[01:59:47] Mangoes?

[01:59:47] Anyone have any specific magas that they read that they want to pronounce?

[01:59:51] Canesaw Man, Attack on Titan.

[01:59:52] I have started reading Attack on Titan before the fall, which is like a prequel manga.

[01:59:57] I was interested in checking that one out.

[01:59:59] It's interesting.

[02:00:00] It's interesting.

[02:00:01] I'm only like the first two volumes in, so I don't want to speak too much of it.

[02:00:04] But it's interesting.

[02:00:06] I've got my ongoings.

[02:00:08] Like I'm doing Canesaw Man every time a volume comes out.

[02:00:12] 17 should be out next couple months.

[02:00:15] My Amazon says next month.

[02:00:17] Oh, good.

[02:00:18] January's stacked.

[02:00:19] Fuck.

[02:00:20] Yeah.

[02:00:21] I'm reading Chainsaw Man ongoing.

[02:00:23] Spy Family ongoing.

[02:00:25] Sakamoto Days ongoing.

[02:00:27] I will say, though, that one loses the plot kind of as it goes on.

[02:00:31] So maybe watch the anime for that one.

[02:00:38] What other ongoing?

[02:00:39] Oh, Dangers of My Heart.

[02:00:40] I'm reading as it comes out.

[02:00:42] Oshinoko.

[02:00:44] And then for...

[02:00:44] We've got a lot of Pokemon this year.

[02:00:46] Yeah.

[02:00:46] For Geek Addicts, we have ongoing manga readings.

[02:00:49] We're doing...

[02:00:50] We did all of Pokemon Adventures.

[02:00:53] The original arcs before they kind of branched off the different games.

[02:01:00] Dragon Ball Super.

[02:01:02] We've been reading that.

[02:01:03] And then Death Note, we just started.

[02:01:05] Okay.

[02:01:06] Oh, and the Yu-Gi-Oh!

[02:01:07] Maga.

[02:01:07] Oh, and Yu-Gi-Oh!

[02:01:09] God, that maga's thirsty as fuck.

[02:01:12] It really is, but it's so good.

[02:01:14] Oh, it's hilarious how you read the opening to the Yu-Gi-Oh!

[02:01:17] Maga, and you're like, wow, the anime fucking missed a lot.

[02:01:20] Like, oh, yeah.

[02:01:22] It takes, like, seven volumes before it gets to, like, where the anime starts.

[02:01:26] Yeah.

[02:01:27] Yeah, and Yu-Gi is fucking thirsty as fuck.

[02:01:30] Yeah, like, what the hell?

[02:01:31] Oh, yeah.

[02:01:32] Extremely.

[02:01:33] Damn.

[02:01:35] I've been reading Berserk.

[02:01:37] I finally caught up to where I left off, like, ten-something years ago.

[02:01:41] And it's been interesting going through it again.

[02:01:44] And now I'm finally getting into the stuff that I never read before.

[02:01:48] So I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes.

[02:01:51] It really is a masterpiece.

[02:01:52] Like, that dude, Katara Miura, was a genius when it came to art.

[02:01:59] I feel bad because, like, the art is beautiful, but I just, I've never been able to get into Berserk.

[02:02:04] I can't blame you.

[02:02:06] It's too bleak.

[02:02:07] It's rough.

[02:02:08] It's rough at points, for sure.

[02:02:11] Like, I read it and I look at the art and I'm like, this is beautiful.

[02:02:15] But then I'm like, it's too dark.

[02:02:17] It's too expensive to collect.

[02:02:20] I got invested, though.

[02:02:22] I'm reading it on a candle, so I...

[02:02:24] Okay.

[02:02:28] Anyone else?

[02:02:29] Nah, it's the same stuff I'm always reading.

[02:02:32] Nothing else interesting.

[02:02:34] I'm waiting for Scooper to come back.

[02:02:38] Sorry, Alex?

[02:02:39] Oh, I was just going to say mine are just the ones that I'm watching.

[02:02:42] Like, Kaiju number A.

[02:02:43] I'm reading that.

[02:02:44] I need to get caught up with One Piece and Black Clover.

[02:02:48] I got behind.

[02:02:49] I need to get the Shonen Jump account so I can just read it.

[02:02:54] And then solo leveling is really fun because it's all in color, too, which is a good time.

[02:03:00] The manga is.

[02:03:02] And then I'm excited for that new JoJo's one.

[02:03:04] That's technically a manhwa, isn't it?

[02:03:06] Yes.

[02:03:07] It's a Korean manga, which I really like.

[02:03:11] And yeah, I'm definitely going to try and read more this year.

[02:03:15] Same.

[02:03:16] I think that's my plan.

[02:03:17] I'd like to read more.

[02:03:19] Nice.

[02:03:20] And with that, guys, I'm happy to announce we have broken the two-hour mark.

[02:03:25] Nice.

[02:03:25] So this is our time to start wrapping up.

[02:03:29] Before we go, because Slade is the guest from outside of our little niche, do you want to just shout out your podcast one more time?

[02:03:37] Yeah, sure.

[02:03:37] Hi, I'm Slade from Driveway Studios.

[02:03:40] Once every Friday, me and my friend Will sit down and we just discuss the week, what's going on, games, anime, work, whatever's on our minds.

[02:03:47] You can find us everywhere at Driveway Studios.

[02:03:50] You can find me everywhere at SladePlaysGames.

[02:03:53] Nice.

[02:03:54] And I'll have a link for that in the description of this episode.

[02:03:56] Thank you.

[02:03:58] Yeah.

[02:03:59] And with that, everybody, once again, thank you for joining us on Gaming and Collecting Podcast for the final time this season.

[02:04:07] We'll see you all next season in season five.

[02:04:10] I know we're over 200 episodes, Alex.

[02:04:12] Like, what happened?

[02:04:13] I don't know.

[02:04:15] Who are you?

[02:04:16] Where are we?

[02:04:18] What is this place?

[02:04:21] But, yeah, you can find our show on all the major podcasting platforms, particularly Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

[02:04:26] And be sure to check us out over on the...

[02:04:29] It's on the sticky places, too.

[02:04:31] That's where most of our viewership is.

[02:04:35] You say that right when a Superpod Network comes up.

[02:04:38] That's very nice.

[02:04:39] That's what I mean.

[02:04:40] No, just kidding.

[02:04:42] That being said, though, you can also find us over on the Superpod Network, an awesome group of podcasters on an awesome website where we have a whole bunch of different shows, videos, blogs, a whole bunch of cool guys doing a bunch of fun stuff, including the other shows over there.

[02:05:19] And with that, everybody, we will see you all next time.

[02:05:24] Sayonara.

[02:05:24] Sayonara.

[02:05:25] Goodbye.

[02:05:26] I'm not going to watch Dragon Ball Z.

[02:05:28] I lied.
