[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey everybody, on this episode of Gaming And Collecting, I'm once again solo hosting while Alex is busy with her dance.

[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And in the meantime, I actually have Aaron from The SuperPod Network joining me to fill in.

[00:00:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Also from shows like SuperPod Saga and Retro Rehab.

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And for this episode we'll be featuring another one of our Gaming, Collecting, Stories, and Experiences episodes.

[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: But anyways guys, on with the intro.

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So unfortunately, Alex couldn't make it for this one.

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_01]: She's in the middle of her dance pandemonium at the moment.

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I like to call it a cult because I swear to God it is.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: It's cult. Hell yeah.

[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_01]: But for this episode, I actually have the perfect fill-in.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: The boss man himself from over at The SuperPod Network.

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: We're never going to let this die, Aaron.

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's me.

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope when you all say boss man, I hope I'm not being bossy about this whole network thing.

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: That's my biggest worry.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't want to be bossy about things because everybody's just doing their own thing.

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just changing the website constantly.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Literally the boss man thing started from, it was during one of the unrecorded 3DO Aftershows where me and Thrak were just shooting the shit.

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think I just jokingly said Aaron the boss man and it just became a thing that we just kept saying.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Boss man. Yeah.

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It's all in good fun though.

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, good.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I guess like I say every episode though, how you been?

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Pretty good, man.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm coming down with something.

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe feeling like sleepy and my throat hurts, but it's not like totally there yet.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm all right.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: But how are you, man?

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting there.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: We're in that time of the year now where it's like you wake up in the morning and it's like completely freezing over here.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And then by the time I get out of work, it's like 80s still.

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_00]: That sounds just like us.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It's usually like, oh fuck.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It's usually like high 50s over here in the morning.

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And then as soon as one o'clock hits, bam, it's like 82, 85.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's that crazy time of the year.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_01]: It sucks.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And unfortunately, because I'm at work, I'm missing all the wonderful gaming news like the whole ES5 debacle that happened yesterday.

[00:02:38] Oh my God.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't miss much, man.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I only caught it.

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I only know as much as I know, because over in the Playalong podcast or yeah, Playalong podcast server, Jared was doing this stream of the whole thing.

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was just watching along with them kind of joking around.

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And it was literally just the dude.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It was a dude talking.

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And then they would show gameplay and he'd be like, oh, look at these trees in the background.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't British.

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just doing this for fun.

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Look at the trees in the background and how good they look this time around on this PS5 Pro.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I just didn't miss much.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I saw the pricing and I went, oh my God, what are they doing?

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, real shot in the foot, dude.

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And then there's this other article from, I think, IGN or one of those sites where it's like Sony justifies the price of the PS5 Pro based on the fact that it has no competition or whatever.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And this is all based off like what a market analyst said.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So it literally does not fucking matter.

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_00]: But no, yeah, it's dumb.

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_00]: It's really stupid.

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I think me and Thrack were joking about it last night.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: We were saying it's really funny because like Sony is not doing so hot right now.

[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Microsoft's not doing so hot right now.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Nintendo has the chance to do the funniest fucking thing real soon.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_00]: They really do, man.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_00]: They could totally steal the PS5 Pro Thunder by announcing the Switch 2 and just being like, oh, and by the way, it's fucking $300.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: They honestly like they could.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Sony has set that bar so high now they could say $400 and we probably still think it's acceptable.

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: That's true, man.

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I mean, I guess I could get it or I guess I can understand if maybe if anyone out there is a gigantic Sony fan and love them to death and they want to own everything Sony and they're just like, oh, okay.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I haven't upgraded from the PS4 yet.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_00]: So might as well go with the Pro, but still, I mean, the difference in performance is like this much.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just so fucking it's like a percentage, man.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just not worth it.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like the jump from the original Xbox one to the one X or like it's not even like the leap from other mid-gen upgrades.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Like when you have like the fat boy PS2 to the slam or like shit like that.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I get called a Sony fanboy every now and then.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I got a sign in the background there and everything.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: But like, even though I was like, I can't even defend them on this one.

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I laugh because it's like I got like, yes, for control and showing you, but then I also have a 360 controller on the side.

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, it's just all over the place here.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that was that was sure something.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_00]: It's yeah, that's the best way to describe it.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: It's something apparently the PS5 disk drives like the external disk drives.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Because people are buying the shit out of them to just have one before the PS5 pro comes out and then they're all immediately out of stock or whatever because it doesn't have a disk drive.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know when I saw no disk drive, I was like, nope, I don't need it.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like how much does the external disk drive go for?

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Is it like 50 or is it it's like over 100?

[00:06:13] Yeah.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the combined price of the pro and the disk drive is something like 800 bucks.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And I just went, oh, God, nope.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, sir.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I joked about it.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I was like, they're actually more expensive than a launch 3Dio.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_01]: That is quite the achievement.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I think Thrak made the same thing.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to move my camera so I'm not too far to one side.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I think Thrak made the same joke in a tweet, too.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_00]: He was like, hmm, $700 for a console at launch.

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Where have I heard that before?

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's a little gif of the 3Dio thing.

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's just one of those things where it's like they did not learn at all.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, they didn't.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I just it's just not worth it this time around, man.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Like maybe I'm just getting old, but like console, like generational leaps just aren't what they used to be.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, especially because games are so expensive now.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And like I look at them like the only game that I'm remotely interested in picking up right now is Astro Bot, which is hilarious because it's like Sony.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Sony literally went from like zero to zero in like a second.

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's crazy.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I keep seeing this one meme where it's oh, what was it?

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It's basically like we are so fucked like and then it goes up and it's it starts off with like some low-budget.

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Point I forget what it was and it's like we're so fucked.

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was Concord the car there.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. And he goes up to Astro Bot.

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like dude, we're so back and then it goes back down to the PS5 Pro.

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_00]: God damn it.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: We're fucked.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know what was more of a mood whiplash that of the fucking Linkin Park reunion news.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that too.

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's super weird.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, good for them, but they might as well just started a new band.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it was like that one was like it came out and everyone was like, oh this actually isn't that bad.

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And then it's like, oh yeah, she's a Scientologist and supported Danny Masterson.

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone was like, oh well that took a flash.

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's uh, that's certainly as me needing a chiropractic appointment man.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_00]: That's yeah, it's okay to be a Scientologist I guess but like to support Danny Masterson.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Why man?

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: What?

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I saw that and I was like, I was like this is too much.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not looking to any deeper into this.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Man, what else has happened in the news?

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_01]: We lost James Earl Jones sadly.

[00:08:46] Oh yeah, we did.

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Rip Mufasa.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_00]: What else did he do?

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Darth Vader.

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Darth Vader.

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Mr. Mr. Myrtle from the Sandlot.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Mr. Myrtle.

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's right.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he was also my favorite.

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Savick the preparer and Simpsons, the first Simpsons trio support the random third alien on the spaceship.

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Making food.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh man, great stuff.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Great news.

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's been a one of those kind of weeks.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just one of those days.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, I was gonna say the debates are happening to what we want to mess with that week.

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I saw that I went great.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Not paying attention to that.

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Give us one.

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's we literally have it's the South Park thing.

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We got the douche of the turd sandwich.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_01]: It's the same shit again.

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So we don't have to get too into it.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_00]: But like who are the candidates now?

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Is it Trump and Kamala Harris?

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Is that just it?

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Is that it?

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's that's it.

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't I don't get political ever.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just gonna say I don't plan on voting for either of them.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll leave it at that.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna I'm gonna drop a big in here on a on GNC.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I've never voted.

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, everybody.

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope this doesn't lessen anybody's like faith in me.

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm only old enough to have voted once and I'm not even going to go there.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, yeah.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, everybody.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_01]: That is the most political we will ever get on GNC.

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to move on from there.

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_01]: But on a lighter note, collecting, you know, the thing in the title of gaming and collecting that we barely ever talk about.

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we'll talk about it.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So this is the fourth installment of this little series that me and Alex kind of came up with last year.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_01]: The whole gimmick is essentially we realized the gaming collecting podcast.

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_01]: We don't ever talk about collecting for a while.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a joke, but now we kind of like I'd actually like to talk about collecting every now and then on this show.

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So we came up kind of, I guess, to the audience who doesn't remember and to like fill Aaron in essentially for this.

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: The idea behind collecting stories and collecting stories and God, I'm having a brain fart.

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm with the name of this dude.

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_01]: It's late collecting stories and experiences.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_01]: The basic idea behind this series is essentially I have a list of questions.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I kind of put together a shout out to James from the top tenors.

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_01]: He was kind of our guinea pig when we put this series together.

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So he kind of like vetted all of our questions.

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Initially, he's a great guy.

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to him and live in the stuff they're doing over on YouTube right now, by the way.

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, the the idea behind collecting stories.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Essentially, I have a bunch of questions I want to ask to the guest and we'll kind of just kind of shoot the shit and collect them.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_01]: But going through basically the questions are just to keep the conversation going.

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of the way I kind of describe it.

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So on that note, I guess I'll start from the top.

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_01]: How did you get into collecting?

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Like what year?

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.

[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I think before I get into I'm gonna let this cat out because she keeps scratching the door.

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be like two seconds.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_01]: No worries.

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_00]: The year I started collecting, I think was it was 2015 or 2016.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember for sure, but it was it was around the time I started the job that I work at now.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just been almost 10 years.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been at the same job for almost 10 years.

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: That's disgusting.

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Wow.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But what was it?

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_00]: There was a bunch of guys who I met that I'm friends with now have been friends with since I started and they were still still are heavily into Pokemon.

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And they were like, dude, Pokemon Sun and Moon comes out in like two weeks.

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You got to get it.

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I was like, hell yeah.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't played.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I stopped buying Pokemon games back in like the third gen.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Like once I moved out on my own, I pretty much didn't own a handheld until yeah.

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_00]: When I started collecting pretty much, I bought a 3DS or new 3DS XL bought Pokemon Moon.

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And then from there, it spiraled.

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_01]: It's funny because like Sun and Moon was infamously like the Pokemon gen that like that was where I finally gave up on Pokemon.

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Ironically, I have a very love hate relationship with that series more game more game freak than anything.

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's funny because you say 2015 that that was still in the kind of what I consider like the golden era of collecting like before stuff.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Stupid because I had started back in 2009 and it was like the why it was a completely different scene back in 2009.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I famously I got my my collecting journey started when I got my Sega Dreamcast.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I got it brand new in the box for like they had they had a ton of new old stock of like Dreamcast on Amazon back in the day and you could get like a brand new sealed never been used Dreamcast for like 50 bucks.

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Man, that's yeah that 2015 was definitely yeah, it was but way before I think anything it was before the pre or fuck.

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_00]: What am I trying to say?

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_00]: It was before the pandemic explosion.

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_01]: So the way I remember it is I because I mean everyone knows I've been in this for way too long, but um, it really started the spike really started around like the end of 2018 and it gradually was going up throughout 2019.

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And then the pandemic happened and it just got stupid.

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_01]: It's never recovered since then, but it is a bit of a misconception because it did technically start a couple years before that.

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess that's true.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't nearly as noticeable though, because not as many people were talking about it at the time.

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man, like I remember before.

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I guess I started working from home.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I started like really collecting when I started working from home, which was I think 2019.

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It was before the pandemic.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure.

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, stuff was kind of affordable back then.

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I know for sure.

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Gamecube was definitely way more affordable.

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I remember going to a garage sale somewhere in Des Moines or West Des Moines and I got Pokemon Colosseum for 25 bucks, which you absolutely can't now.

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_00]: No, holy fuck.

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Pokemon Colosseum.

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I got mine in a fucking GameStop bargain bin for like five bucks way back in the day.

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Like just fucking mental like Gale of Darkness too.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_01]: That's another one that's like ridiculous.

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't.

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Shadow Lukia, I guess is maybe that's why people want that one so fucking much, but I don't know.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I love this stupid, dumb dirt bike thing in Colosseum.

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry to get so off topic.

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the point of this series.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_01]: That being said, though, kind of playing off of that, what was one of the craziest stories you've ever had collecting?

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Craziest stories.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess like to kind of preface it, like I'll give the example I usually give for me.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_01]: My craziest collecting story was probably I have a few of them.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_01]: What the one I always go to is like how I got my GameCube.

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_01]: So the GameCube I had gotten was actually a GameStop one that was being their claim was it was defective and they were throwing it away.

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they couldn't get power to it at all and they were going to toss it out.

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So I had done.

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had done like this.

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So this was 2010.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_01]: So GameCube stuff was like this was GameStop was trying to get rid of the shit like they didn't want it anymore.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I had a I basically like talk to the guy there and I was like, can we just step outside the store and I'll give you five bucks for this damn thing?

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I didn't believe them.

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I was like, there's no way this thing doesn't work because it looked pristine.

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So I straight up I bought I bought the game to the GameCube from the GameStop for five dollars and then I spent $60 on Melee because Melee was still $60.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's always a no.

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And then I go home.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I plug it in.

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Get the power button.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_01]: GameCube intro starts right up.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_01]: It's perfectly fine.

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, dude.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_01]: To this day, I have no idea like either they were just they didn't try or I don't I don't mean to shit on GameStop employees, but like sometimes I'm always like, like what the hell?

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe they didn't have the wire in all the way or just yeah, maybe man.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess I guess.

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do have a good one.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So when I bought my Wii U, the only one I've ever owned, I bought it from there was this retro gaming convention in the I forget which mall here in Des Moines.

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And there's this there's this kind of big issue YouTube channel called Gaming Off the Grid.

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_00]: The dudes are the dudes live here in Des Moines and they met them, bought the Wii U and a bunch of games off of them.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_00]: They're really cool.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to Gaming Off the Grid.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So I took the Wii U home, got it all set up.

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_00]: But so like for the most part, it worked like the games worked like it played games just fine.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you try to access the shop or like do anything online, basically was banned.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, what was it?

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It was banned.

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I think for like trying to spoof the shop or something like that, basically there was an account on the Wii U that was banned from the shop for something or other.

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And I couldn't figure out why.

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And I kept trying to call the Nintendo customer service to try to figure out what the fuck is going on or like to get the account or the block lifted.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: But they were like, oh, they were like, you have to have the account owner's information, like their password or whatever to get the account taken off.

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, fuck, I bought this second hand at a fucking ball.

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_00]: So I ended up I didn't have I didn't know at all how to contact these guys from Gaming Off the Grid.

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I messaged I forget his name.

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_00]: One of the dudes, but I messaged him on on Facebook Messenger and I was like, dude, can you help me with this Wii U?

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_00]: He never answered.

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So over the course of like seven days, I'm just constantly messaging this guy looking and sounding like a fucking frantic lunatic.

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Just like, dude, please, if you can help me out at all, like, dude, please, I paid $100 for this thing and it doesn't work.

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Please fucking please just help me.

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And then finally I went to their YouTube channel, found their email address and emailed them.

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And then like within two hours, they were like, yeah, dude, just come meet me at Bass Pro Shop and we can swap it out.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, thank you fucking God.

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, sorry for bugging the other guy so much.

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't mean to sound like a frantic maniac dickhead, but like he was like, no, I get a minute.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_00]: All right. Yeah. So shout out to them. Shout out to Gaming Off the Grid.

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_00]: They're pretty cool. Nice.

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's funny sometimes like when you buy these consoles secondhand, like some of the surprises you get, like this is a this is another one I love telling because it's another classic GameStop like employees just being apathetic and not caring.

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_01]: You know how when like they get in a used like handheld, they're supposed to wipe it clean of all the software on it and other things.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So I, I bought, I bought my so I have like five 3DS is just chilling because that just it happens.

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_01]: No handles mod them fuckers.

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_01]: So I, my original, I have the original 3DS and I got, it's too small and clunky and I'm not a fan of that design.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So I wanted the, the XL because it's just better in every way.

[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And they were like, they were selling them for like, they were pretty cheap still GameStop.

[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I paid like 120 bucks for it.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I used one. Yeah, dirt cheap. Yeah.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_01]: So they gave it to me and they were like, oh, it's only been used once.

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry, it's wiped clean like everything's fine.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, all right, thanks for sharing me.

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank I'm like, yeah, that's standard practice.

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for telling me.

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I get home and I started up and there's icons on the screen.

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, Hmm, I don't think this thing was wiped.

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And then I open up the side hatch and there's an SD card in there.

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, Hmm, like, all right.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, Okay, I go into photos and I was like, Oh, no.

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's not the good stuff.

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I have no idea.

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I deleted that shit immediately because I have no idea.

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to know.

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, better safe than sorry, dude.

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Gone.

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And then I looked through like the browsing history and I was like, holy, I'm like this guy was a fucking psycho.

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_01]: But I immediately like I basically I wiped the 3DS myself because GameStop couldn't be bothered to do it.

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, I'm just sitting here thinking like, wow, like, like, I'm like, who does this on a 3DS?

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, of all things.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, with the fucking screen being like 120 pixels.

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_00]: But then also better options.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_01]: But the best part is after I do that, I'm like sitting there with it and it hits me.

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I look down and I immediately just go run to the bathroom, wash my hands.

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And then I fucking be like sanitize that fucking thing for like a day because I was like, where the fuck is this thing?

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, yeah, there's probably so much dried semen underneath like all the cracks in the touch screen.

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I did not want to think about it because I was immediately the realization hit me.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh no.

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So I just fucking shattered like fucking steel wool on the hands because God knows, I guess that would be the perfect machine to do it on, though.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Because it's like a laptop.

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You just put it down, put the screen up.

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I go to town.

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so I have one kind of like that, too.

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So I bought a PSP off of someone on the Facebook marketplace.

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: The shout out to Facebook marketplace, I guess.

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So bought a PSP and I came with a couple games.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I think like it was Sonic.

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it wasn't Sonic Unleashed.

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Your Sonic something.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Sonic Rivals, I think.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Sonic Rivals, Need for Speed and one other game that I forget.

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I get home.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking through the browser history.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I think I was just like looking through and like clearing shit out, just making sure everything is like good to go.

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_00]: We have linked to the browser history and yeah, dude, a lot of dude was on Pornhub like all the time.

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_01]: It was always it was always the PSPs.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I swear.

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dude.

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: It was like that was like most teenagers first like Internet browser because that was before like the iPhone standard.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_00]: That's true.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was before smartphones.

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, before like good smartphones and then before like not everybody had a laptop.

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So I get it.

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess I get it.

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_01]: 3DS though that was way beyond that.

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Now I was like, yeah, people definitely had a fucking smartphone, but then 3DS is out, man.

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_00]: That's it.

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_00]: That's nuts.

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And on that note, moving away from this subject to pivot off of crusty semen 3DS is 3D seem.

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_00]: No, never mind.

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_01]: That's not no pivot from the pivot from the true degeneracy of gamers.

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_01]: What would what would you say is your biggest collecting score?

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, all right.

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_00]: The first one that comes to mind is Yokai Watch 3 because that one will the US version because I guess you can get the Japanese versions for fucking pennies because they were sold like hotcakes.

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But the US version of Yokai Watch 3, I think it was like one of the last releases for the one of the last physical releases for the 3DS.

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And I preordered on Amazon because I love Yokai Watch and like maybe a year after I bought it, it skyrocketed to like 150 bucks.

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, holy shit.

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_00]: We had now a complete in box copy goes for like 300 bucks or something.

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll never sell it.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Never.

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_01]: It's similar to like Professor Layton versus Phoenix, right?

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Like that was a game that nobody bought and now it's fucking like 200 bucks.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_00]: That in the Asheron Legacy one man, like all of the other professor, professor, holy shit, professor late all the other professor Layton's.

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, with the exception of versus Phoenix, right?

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_00]: All the other ones are totally fairly priced.

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Even like the other 3DS one mystery mask or mystery mask miracle.

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, whatever the mask one is.

[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_00]: All of those totally fairly priced.

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Then you get to Asheron Legacy and it's like 200 bucks.

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, well, fuck me, I guess.

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm glad I picked that up on the back when it was like back when GameStop actually had 3DS games worth of games.

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dude.

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Another one would be Dragon Quest five on DS.

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I bought that on Amazon back when it was 20 bucks.

[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And then after that fucking Netflix movie came out, it shot up in price.

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_00]: So fucking dodged a bullet there.

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank God.

[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I got lucky with my copy of five.

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I found it.

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Remember back in the day where like after GameStop stopped selling carrying DS games, but you'd occasionally find them in like the little glass cases.

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Right at the yeah, like wherever the registers and shit are.

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Occasionally they just have like complete games in there and I they had a five in there and it was like they wanted like 34 and I was like, oh, that's fine.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_01]: 30s.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's totally fine.

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_00]: That's much better than the fucking 400.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: It goes for now.

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think for me, like the two best scores I've ever had.

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_01]: The one that I find funny that that I always like to tell is my copy of Knuckles Chaotix.

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I have a boxed like 30 32 X copy.

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I found that at a yard sale.

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_01]: It was in a pile of VHS tapes just chillin.

[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember walking by.

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I looked over and I just see a 30.

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I see the 32 X logo and I didn't even notice what game it was but my head immediately turns to go.

[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like 32 X.

[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what the hell?

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_00]: We could be onto something.

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I saw Knuckles Chaotix and I just went, holy shit.

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_01]: That is like one of the rarest 32 X games ever.

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't even own a 32 X at this time.

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I just saw it there and I looked at the lady running it and I just asked her how much for this?

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_01]: She looked at it for five seconds.

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like $5.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, I was like, thank you.

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not a pristine copy.

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the box is slightly torn and it's a little beaten and worn but like it's still the complete in case like Knuckles Chaotix.

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_01]: That was a huge one.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And I remember seeing how much that was worth later on and I was like, holy shit.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Where's my phone?

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_00]: How much is it worth now?

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna take a look.

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Look it up.

[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely in triple digits.

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh shit.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Come on.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Come on, stupid phone.

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_01]: 227 according to game.

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I oh God.

[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_01]: My other big score.

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_01]: This one was more.

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_01]: This one actually, I think is probably the biggest bigger score just in hindsight.

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_01]: So everybody knows my favorite game ever persona for golden.

[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_00]: That one's also up there.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_01]: When I first played persona for gold and I had gotten into I went on like a persona binge where I had to play all the games.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And this was during the time where well it's it kind of.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was during the time where like two and one were especially were harder to find.

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_01]: But they weren't like they it wasn't so much they were harder to find because they were they were like super valuable.

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_01]: It was more that they were just like no one knew about them and they were obscure.

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_01]: So I am.

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I found a listing of it on Amazon and this was like Amazon back in the day where they rarely ever showed pictures.

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_01]: The descriptions were incredibly vague.

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And you kind of just had to take a chance and I was so this was 2012.

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was still in high school at the time.

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I barely any money and I just like was like fuck it.

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_01]: It's persona two if it's disc only I just want to play it.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I paid so I paid 20 bucks.

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It shows up in the mail a week later.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Damn it.

[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Pristine Mint manual bonus disc everything and I was like, oh cool PS2 game.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And at the time I didn't think about it.

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_01]: God, I just put it on my shelf and played and enjoyed it.

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I find out it's a $400 game like that's fucking wild man.

[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Also, I just looked in Yokai Watch 3 is 350 bucks.

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's that's tragic.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_00]: What so another one that also really shot the fuck up for like no reason was Xenogears.

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I bought that.

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure back in like maybe 2019 for 60 bucks and that shot up to like 170 for for like no reason.

[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll get it man most the PS2 has been going through a big PS1 especially PS2 have been going through spikes lately.

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It's it's unfortunate that being said though.

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_01]: So now we're going to take that question and kind of go the opposite direction.

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_01]: What would you say was your biggest gate collecting fail collecting fail?

[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So if you want like an example, this is the one I like to use as a little prop in the background.

[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I always bring this up.

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I have this copy of and Satan here.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_01]: This is actually a copy of some football game.

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what the fuck it's a bamboozle copy.

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I got someone to swap the shell out and put they took a Ken Satan shell and stuck it over some baseball game.

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_01]: So I got I got ripped off.

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_01]: That's not my biggest fail, but that's just kind of an example.

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm me and I can't nothing.

[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing really comes to mind.

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess maybe paying too much for games like I paid $100 for Lunar Silver Star story complete on PSP.

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Paid flat out 100 bucks because I overbid on an auction.

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I also I think I paid like 130 for Paper Mario thousand year door on GameCube, which I definitely didn't need to because they fucking remade it.

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I think one I think one for me like in that kind of like context is like ironically a game I'm blogging about right now.

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Fire Emblem Pat the Radiance.

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I had bought that I had bought my copy initially right after the awakening boom.

[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And by that point, every Fire Emblem had skyrocketed.

[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_01]: It had I paid $200 for my copy.

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_01]: A year later, it dropped down to like 99.

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Fuck, but God damn it.

[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_01]: In hindsight, it's back up to 200 now.

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_01]: So I kind of broke even, but at the same time there was a brief period where I saw it.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I saw multiple copies for like 99 bucks and I was like, you gotta be kidding me.

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_00]: So on that same route, I could have bought what's the name of the game?

[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I could have bought infinite space for the DS.

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big I'm a big 3DS and DS guy.

[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I could have bought infinite space for 50 bucks at one point.

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't pull the trigger for whatever reason.

[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And now it's now it's 110 complete in box.

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So fuck me.

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I got one of those two.

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I passed up on a copy of Chibi Robot for 40 bucks.

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, it wasn't 40.

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It was 60 bucks at a flea market.

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_00]: God damn.

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_01]: So the thing is, I wanted what game did I buy instead?

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Damn, I can't even remember what game I bought instead.

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It was something I bought shining in the Holy Ark instead, which I think is actually cheaper

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_01]: now, ironically than what Chibi Robot goes for.

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_01]: But I've always kind of kicked myself for not picking up Chibi Robot at the time because

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_01]: that is another like that's $300 now.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a fucking huge one.

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_00]: What else did I you want to know?

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking for a reversal that that's kind of driving me insane right now.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So I paid like $130 for contact on the DS.

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like 40 bucks now.

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yeah, I paid like 30 for mine.

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It dropped like that one dropped like a rock.

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_01]: They must have found some like copies in like a storage or something.

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I had another one.

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_00]: What was it?

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_00]: There's there were a few more.

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Chris and I, a novel console, Chris, shout out to him.

[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_00]: We talk about 3DS games all the time.

[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was Avalon code for for DS.

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I kept seeing a couple of copies of that for like maybe like 30 bucks here or there on

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_00]: there's this there's this dumb fucking app called Mercari.

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like knockoff eBay pretty much.

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I had a chance to buy a complete copy of Avalon code for 40 bucks, but I didn't.

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And that game usually goes for like 80 or 90.

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so many DS RPGs are like stupid that like that now like the two is Zuna games

[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_01]: are like stupidly expensive now.

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a bunch that are just sitting on my wish list on game.

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I that like the the Blue Dragon games.

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not paying.

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not paying above 100 bucks for those bro.

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_01]: That's only how I only have the first one.

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't have the second one.

[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_01]: That's like a tactical game.

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the one I want is a tactics one.

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_00]: God damn it.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess to move on from that, this actually kind of ties into this.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_01]: The next question.

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever had a moment when you were collecting where you found something that you did not

[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_01]: have the money for, but you'd like you were compelled to like get it because you couldn't

[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_01]: pass it up.

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, I think so.

[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it was.

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got a couple actually.

[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the garage sale I mentioned earlier where I got Pokemon and all those.

[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It was this gigantic garage sale was just like a bunch of video games.

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_00]: It was this total nerd guy, total nerd, like gamer dude, really love baseball.

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_00]: He's selling a shit ton of video games.

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And there was a Dreamcast that came with like two controller, like a whole bundle, a Dreamcast

[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_00]: bundle with just a bunch of games controller.

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it came with the VMU though, but those are super fucking dirt cheap on

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_00]: eBay.

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And then there was a GameCube bundle that came with a few games as well too.

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, okay, this is like 200 bucks.

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Like we could just go cheap on groceries this week.

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Like should I do?

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I pulled the trigger, just fucking did it.

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_00]: 200 bucks.

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got a GameCube, Dreamcast, a bunch of games and shit.

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you just have those deals that you can't pass up.

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Like for me, the one that I've had a bunch of them over the years, but like the one that

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_01]: like I always have to bring up is my copy of a Puffle Mail for the Sega CD.

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, that's a rare one.

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember.

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So ironically, it's the it's the it's I found it at a retro store.

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's actually the one of the local retro stores I go to now.

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_01]: But at the time I was still living back in my hometown and Alex was living up where

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_01]: we live currently now.

[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was visiting her for the weekend and we were going to go retro hunting.

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And I remember because like the first store we hit up was this this one particular

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_01]: store.

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And I looked around.

[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_01]: They had some decent stuff, but a lot of it was kind of like generic, like kind of

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_01]: just the typical like slop you'll see at most retro stores.

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a little sloppy.

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_01]: You know exactly the kind of games I'm talking about.

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_00]: The fucking Madden's the Blitz is the all the licensed games.

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_01]: No one gives a shit about all the PS2 games that are like are super common because like

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_01]: PS2 games were printed to hell and back.

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_01]: But they had a glass case, of course, that had all the rare stuff.

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm kind of glancing around.

[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I see a bunch of stuff that I already had.

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_01]: But then I look down and I saw Sega CD game kind of shoved in the back and I'm like trying

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_01]: to see what it is.

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So I asked them to like if they could show me the game and they pull it out.

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It's Popple mail.

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh, that's like one of the working designs games.

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't have and I need and I'm looking at the thing and I'm like because they didn't

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_01]: have a price on it because they they were kind of like they were kind of hoping no one bought

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_01]: it probably because they wanted it to get it themselves.

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm looking at this thing and it's pristine like the manual is beautiful.

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the disc is like untouched.

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_01]: It has the styrofoam block still in it case has no cracks at all.

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's surprising.

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I asked them, I'm like, how much is it going for?

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And they were like to 250.

[00:40:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Now that sounds like a lot but for Popple mail that is a that is a steal.

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I got to look this up.

[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I got a mail has gone up quite a bit.

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_01]: In the years.

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_00]: 500.

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it was like 200 bucks.

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it was like I think I talked them down to like 200 even and that was at the time

[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_01]: that was literally all the collecting money I had brought for the trip.

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like this was going to just wipe out my entire funds.

[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like sitting there going like do I like move around money on like my credit card

[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_01]: and I make this work because like I don't want to completely.

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to completely screw the weekend but like I can't pass this up.

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_01]: This is like I'll never see this again.

[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_01]: So I pulled the trigger and bought it and the worst part too is because I was visiting

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Alex like I didn't have my Sega CD like ready and available so I couldn't even test it.

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_01]: So I had to wait like the rest of the trip until I got back home where I could test it

[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_01]: to make sure it worked.

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Thankfully it did and that's good.

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a it was definitely a must buy purchase.

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I think the only other kind of game like that I had recently was when I was at a convention

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_01]: or last month or two months ago.

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I found a copy of a Stella glow for like 70 bucks and Stella glow is like one of like

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_01]: the three 3ds RPGs.

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I've been kind of hunting for and I was like, I need this one.

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So I just just charged on my credit card.

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah, I'll worry about it later.

[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Holy shit.

[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't realize Stella glow was that much now motherfucker.

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there's I guess maybe this goes to the previous question, but there's a bunch of

[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_00]: games for the 3ds that I bought digital that I wish I'd bought physical instead like fire

[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_00]: emblem awakening fucking Stella glow virtues last reward.

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_00]: What are those zero escape games?

[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a bunch that I bought digital that I wish I own the physical copies for but didn't

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_00]: some stupid.

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_01]: There's one that I bought digital that I regret not getting the physical of it's that Lords

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_01]: of manga game.

[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_01]: That's that's really stupid.

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_01]: The the physical for that is stupidly expensive now and I regret not because I bought it digital

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_01]: because it was on sale.

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_00]: It's got cool cover art though.

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_01]: No, it's it's actually not a bad game.

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's one of the there's so many games like that on 3ds were like you look

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_01]: at him.

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_01]: You just go.

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_01]: This is certainly a game.

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck?

[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Why can't why can't I find the dude lore?

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Is it Lords of magna?

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like Lords of manga or something like that.

[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to find it.

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_00]: God damn it.

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_00]: There we go.

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Lord of magna.

[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It's animated as shit.

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_00]: There you go video viewers.

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there we go.

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Boom.

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I grabbed that when I when I had the chance but alas I have a digital.

[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll never own a physical copy of awakened.

[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, maybe not how much does awakening go for now?

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Awakening is not the worst.

[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's pretty affordable.

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just kind of finding a copy that's tough.

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I got last night.

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not even in my like the top like oh, like it should be going to say four is

[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_01]: more valuable than it apparently.

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's like 29.

[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, awakening is not bad.

[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_00]: $29.

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I might I might just double dip.

[00:44:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Might just have to fill it's only $29 might as fucking well man.

[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean you might have to pay a bit more on eBay pricing but I mean it's it's definitely

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_01]: not one of the worst ones.

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess moving on now the next question.

[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_01]: What what's so this one's kind of the opposite of that.

[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_01]: What's the one game you let get away?

[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Or I think we actually just kind of answered this.

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I think we did.

[00:44:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I think for sure infinite space.

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me look at them.

[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry if I'm looking at my phone way too much but I gotta check game I guess there's a bunch

[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_00]: that I have on my wish list that I've passed up for sure infinite space because it's $110

[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_00]: now and I could have bought it for fucking 60.

[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_01]: The one for me that kills me is I had a chance to get Magic Knight rareth on the Saturn for

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_01]: it was like 300 bucks at one point and at the time I thought that was ridiculous, but

[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I am I nowadays I kind of regret it because that games like almost like 700 now.

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I think holy shit.

[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah Saturn games suck like they really do.

[00:45:21] [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's fucking insane.

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh the other is the.

[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_00]: The Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner the Raito Kuzunoha games.

[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Those are fucking stupid expensive now and I could have bought the I could have bought

[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_00]: the two games together on eBay for like I think 60 bucks or both.

[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah now I think it's number two.

[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_00]: That's like 120 bucks or if it's the first game I forget but yeah, unfortunately they've

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_01]: just got the Atlas tax.

[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I like to call it.

[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man there was there was a while there where it was Devil Summoner soul hackers on

[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_00]: the 3ds that one was worth a lot for a while.

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I think I paid 60 bucks for it at one point and then it went up to like 130

[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_00]: for a while and I was like yes, yes keep climbing like I'm like I'm looking to some that really

[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_00]: now looking to sell it.

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I just want to watch the prices go up and then I just plummeted back to 60 so.

[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I got that at a GameStop bargain been for 13 bucks years ago.

[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm saying.

[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what's hilarious is too is that that's just a port of a Saturn game like it's fucking

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_01]: awesome too.

[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It is it is a great game and I love its sequel even though no one else seemed to for whatever

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_01]: reason.

[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Other people were just they were stuck on the whole like this.

[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_00]: This is like Persona, but it's not Persona.

[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know people that's that's what I see a lot of like especially on the Xbox store

[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_00]: where people can leave reviews on little cards.

[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_00]: It's always like this is like Persona, but it's not and I don't like that but I wonder

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_01]: what they're going to say for metaphor when that comes out.

[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God.

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_01]: That's like one of the few games.

[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_01]: That's like one of the few games I actually want to play.

[00:47:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It looks fucking awesome.

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like everything I've ever wanted in an RP.

[00:47:19] [SPEAKER_00]: It's it's got that mix of like main series Shin Megami Tensei and like a little bit of

[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Persona with how like the menus are all like, oh yeah, I was sickly made.

[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that I showed you McGoro's doing the soundtrack and the persona artist is doing

[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_01]: the art.

[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like it's like just injected into my veins, please.

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, please.

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Here's my 70.

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So 70 bucks this one.

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I kind of brought it.

[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I brought this is a joke question that I mostly added because it happened to me and I brought

[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_01]: it up earlier.

[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_01]: But have you ever been bamboozled with a cartridge?

[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so, man.

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I guess maybe I have a I have a copy of maybe something boozled by I have an SNES

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_00]: game that doesn't work.

[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Like my my brother-in-law gave me a bunch of Super Nintendo games and I forget which

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_00]: one it is, but it just it doesn't work.

[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, this is cool.

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_00]: This one is I think it's pretty rare.

[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's worth a lot but doesn't work.

[00:48:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the only time I ever got bamboozled was with that Master System game, which thankfully

[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_01]: isn't the worst thing that could have happened.

[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I've gotten bootlegs before that were listed as real that that always sucks.

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_01]: That's bullshit.

[00:48:34] [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I hate buying cartridges online nowadays because you just don't know.

[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I threw I threw that question in there just because it's funny to me and sometimes

[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_01]: you do get the sometimes it does happen to other people.

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But moving on from that.

[00:48:50] [SPEAKER_01]: What is your favorite out there collecting habit?

[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_01]: So like to preface this one like for me, like I have my obsession with buying every version

[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_01]: of Klax or oh, okay.

[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to collect every NASCAR game like just like kind of weird goofy stuff like that.

[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, for a little while there.

[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I was trying to collect all the Dragon Quest games.

[00:49:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I got every single one of the DS so four five six and nine.

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I got the two on the 3ds seven and eight but then of course tens only in Japan.

[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So fuck that one two and three are.

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean you can get up the digital ones on switch and I've got 11 and 12 coming out.

[00:49:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we got that.

[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I also tried to get every Professor Layton game.

[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Asrin Legacy could suck my ass because that's stupid expensive now.

[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I said fuck you to Miracle Mask and then the one with his daughter.

[00:49:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like nope.

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess that doesn't count.

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_00]: What else have I done?

[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I buy pretty much any like Shin Megami Tensei game.

[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I come across like I've got Nocturne for for Apocalypse.

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got five five Vengeance.

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got what is that?

[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got a bunch of the spin-offs like Devil Survivor one and two soul hackers.

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I love Shin Megami Tensei.

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got like a bunch of personas also like well, I say a bunch but it's just three and four.

[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I think like for me another weird habit.

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I have is like I have a tendency to buy.

[00:50:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I buy a lot of import like complete in box games and I strictly buy them just so I can use them as artwork.

[00:50:45] [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's good though, man.

[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_00]: The fucking especially in the the 90s all the Japanese versions of games had the best cover art like the Super Famicom versions of like Mega Man and stuff.

[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Those had like much much better cover than we got in the US like the one I have.

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I have a copy of I've got a Japanese copy of Final Fantasy 6 and I have it just kind of on a shelf because I love that artwork and I love the Final Fantasy 3 artwork artwork that we got over here as well.

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_01]: But like the purple background with the Moogle but just that the the Yoshitaka Amano art of like terror on the the mech armor like just with that cityscape in the background is just so fucking amazing.

[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_01]: It is or even like a more simplistic one like the mother to boxer.

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's just like it's like red in the background and then it's got a little bit of the oh yeah, and it's like the horizontal style.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's a striking box.

[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I don't think I own any no, I've got a couple Japanese copies of games.

[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_00]: What else have I done?

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I also tried to get every Mario and Luigi game on like DS and 3DS but not partners in time because it was really expensive at the time and then now I just don't care about partners that died without the buy-in.

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's pretty cheap now because like no one cares about it.

[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_00]: At least last I checked it was I think I think that's pretty much it.

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I know there were quite a few games that I was pre-ordering for the 3DS just for the sake of having them for the 3DS because it's just like well, I mean these games are probably going to shoot up in price.

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So I might as well own them now like that kind of mentality basically FOMO.

[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I've FOMO'd a lot of pre-orders because and I don't do that anymore though, but I think that is it.

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's it.

[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the only other weird collecting thing I do is like my I have this weird like kind of just obsession with buying PlayStation 1 racing games because there is there is hundreds of them.

[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I swear to God.

[00:53:07] [SPEAKER_01]: My favorite one I found was this game called ATV Racer.

[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_01]: It's I saw it at first and I thought it was like kind of like an ATV off-road fury thing.

[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_01]: But if you look up the cover to ATV Racer PS1, it is literally furry animals on ATVs.

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's awesome.

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, it's furry racer.

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a shitty game too, which makes it even better.

[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Sweet.

[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So the next question, this one's a bit interesting.

[00:53:37] [SPEAKER_01]: What would you say is like the oddball game in your collection?

[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the game that you just kind of like it just sticks out like a sore thumb that you own.

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so the games I collect I collect because I want to play them.

[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_00]: He's like I do look forward to playing him and eventually do.

[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But I have this this totally sealed brand new copy of Legend of Zelda.

[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I think no Phantom Hourglass sealed copy of Phantom Hourglass still in the cellophane never opened it.

[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just sitting on my DS shelf brand spanking new.

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I keep thinking, oh, maybe I maybe I should get to maybe I should play it or maybe maybe I should just sell it if I'm not going to play it.

[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And then I forget about it and just continues to sit there.

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have a I've got a few like random games.

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I have this one Coleco vision like game of like Smurfs because it came it came it came with a lot of like 2600 games.

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_01]: It was just kind of stuck in there.

[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Goddamn Smurfs.

[00:54:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I have a cup like I have that stupid fallout like nuke like special edition thing.

[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, my friends have that my friend Jared has that it's it's stupidly expensive now, but I got it back when like GameStop had like hundreds of them and they were just trying to get rid of them.

[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Really?

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean not like stupidly expensive but like they're they're a decent chunk for something that's kind of a novelty item at most.

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see real quick all out.

[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like a hundred bucks for the nuke.

[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's still pretty good.

[00:55:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I also have a complete mint copy of Lester the unlikely I saw it at a store and I was like fuck it.

[00:55:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Why not?

[00:55:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's got to be something else.

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_00]: What else do I have?

[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I think that's pretty much it.

[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I guess I do have like a bunch of like random 10gin NES games that I just that are my wife's that she got with her NES like a long ass time ago.

[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got a bunch of those downstairs.

[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's not bad.

[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Like some of those are those are the 10 game games are actually pretty good.

[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_01]: It's when you have like the wisdom tree games.

[00:56:07] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what it's that's when it gets fun.

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_00]: We're like, oh no, it's not a 10 get one.

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Never mind.

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I was to say three stooges for the NES, but that's not a 10 get one.

[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Never mind.

[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So this question is a bit more personal.

[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_01]: What advice would you give to a new collector aspiring to get into the hobby?

[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess don't let FOMO get to you like FOMO got me a lot had me wasting a lot of money on games that I didn't really want.

[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, buy the games that I guess.

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you want to play unless you are the type of person that wants to own every single game for a certain system.

[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But also, yeah, budget yourself, please.

[00:56:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Please set a budget.

[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_01]: One of my biggest pieces of it.

[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I used to always joke saying my advice to new collectors trying to get in the hobby was don't but um, yeah, when I'm when I try to be serious about it.

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I always tell people like my biggest like advice.

[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I like to give people nowadays is like don't base your entire collection off of like your favorite internet personalities tastes because that's just not a great way to collect because in reality, just because it's what they say they like to collect.

[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean that's what you're going to enjoy and a lot of times it ends up being really expensive.

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep, yep, that's fucking true man.

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I think.

[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.

[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say like just because everyone online says Nintendo is the best doesn't mean you have to be a Nintendo collector.

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're not a Nintendo guy, you don't have to pay that money for Nintendo stuff.

[00:57:46] [SPEAKER_00]: That's true man.

[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say my whole collection started off with me going from I bounced from Pokemon to Dragon Quest to other RPGs and then I essentially acquired this gigantic ever evolving consuming massive RPGs on the DS and 3DS.

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, find some games.

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Find some games that interest you for a system or systems and then just kind of branch from there.

[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But also yes, please set a fucking budget.

[00:58:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't bankrupt yourself trying to buy like every single game that you want to own.

[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you don't need to buy Earthbound.

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't don't buy Earthbound.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_01]: You don't need to buy all the most expensive games available for clout.

[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_01]: You can go to like the bargain shelf and look through the PS2 section.

[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_01]: There are so many amazing games there that are like worth nothing.

[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Like get into original Xbox collecting.

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_01]: No one cares about original Xbox and there's so many great games over there.

[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dude.

[00:58:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Or even maybe collect for newer systems like the Xbox one or I mean 360 games aren't terrible still like a lot of them are still like 15 bucks and there's a lot of awesome games there.

[00:58:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Unless you want to get bullet which for some reason.

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what the fuck happened with that?

[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_00]: That makes no sense.

[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I bought that for five fucking dollars.

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_01]: That game is fucking a poor man's bayonetta and it's terrible.

[00:59:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean it's it's it's not as amazing like that that game is very jank and it's up there with like say like Earth Defense Force on 360 but Earth Defense Force is my favorite dumpster fire series.

[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Dude.

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, those games are actually they can be kind of fucking fun bullet which on the other hand is not.

[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I remember catching that it was I think it was cheap.

[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so so on G4 children back in the day there was this TV on cable or not this cable TV channel called G4.

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_00]: It was all video games all tech shit and then the show called cheats or cheat.

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I forget then they showed like cheat codes and like hints and tips and tricks for games and they showed bullet which and they were showing how to be this one boss and as a dumb kid.

[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like boy this game looks cool.

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to buy this game but now that I have it and I've played like an hour of it.

[01:00:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I would I would much rather get that fucking hour refunded.

[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's actually kind of funny you bring up G4 because I was thinking I'm like it's might remember the attempted revival.

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that lasted for like a year.

[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I miss when G4 was just cops all the time man good those are after they gave up on the gaming stuff like my favorite G4 show was definitely icons like I fucking loved icons.

[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember watching attack of the show a lot because they would show off or was it tag of the show.

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: They would show like game trailers of like trailers of new and upcoming games and I remember seeing there's one for enchanted arms that looked really cool and one for something on PS3.

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I forget but tag of the show was pretty cool.

[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember that I remember X play.

[01:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean I think everybody watched X.

[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yep X play was was huge.

[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Who is the who is the female host?

[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I forget her name Morgan Webb.

[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I remember like I remember her because like as a child like you'd see pretty girl on screen and that's just all you care about.

[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like oh pretty girl like video game.

[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I like video game pretty girl might like me.

[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: That was back before it became accepted.

[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_01]: It was like general just like accepted that everyone likes video games.

[01:01:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man.

[01:01:31] [SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck ever happened to that?

[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember as a kid or like as a teenager even I would be like, oh yeah, I like Pokemon.

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I like Yu-Gi-Oh and I play video games people are like shut up nerd.

[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But now it's just like oh cool bro.

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me high five you and hug you and fucking jerk you off in the shower or something.

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I like that stuff too.

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's like it's like the old saying how like everybody watched anime back in the day.

[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Just no one would admit it.

[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: That's fucking true man.

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Like everybody watched like Samurai Champloo back in the day.

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, everyone watched Dragon Ball everyone everyone had their their anime they watched.

[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh hell yeah.

[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So I have one more question for this list of this list I compiled and this one is always

[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: fascinating because I'm always I always get a different answer.

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: But what is the one game that will never be in your collection?

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh Panzer Dragoon Saga.

[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm never gonna own that game.

[01:02:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I feel like it's always gonna like it's always going to be in this this state of perpetual.

[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know expensiveness.

[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the fuck the word would be for it, but it's too fucking expensive.

[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_00]: The price of this game is too damn high.

[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: It's always $1,300 and I'm not gonna shell out $1,300 for a single game that is in fucking sane.

[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I paid when I got my copy.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It was $500.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It's double that now.

[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's still a lot.

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Holy shit.

[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So that and I was just looking at it one sec.

[01:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me find it again.

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh man.

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_00]: That and oh yeah, the whole .hack series.

[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I really want to own that series, but it's like one or two parts that are each like 300 and like 150 and so the first three parts aren't terrible.

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: It's part.

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_01]: It's quarantine.

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the one that's ridiculous.

[01:03:38] God damn it.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Which is annoying too because the G the .hack GU series got that awesome re-release on PS4.

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what the fuck the original series got nothing.

[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll never understand it because it's because Bamco hates us.

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I swear fucking that and Xeno Saga, which I mean, I guess that's kind of difficult because those were also.

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Were those also that's also Bamco Bamco.

[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, technically Monolith Soft made them but not Monolith Soft is owned by Nintendo now.

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Bamco is Bamco and they suck.

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So I also want Shadow Hearts at least one and two on modern consoles.

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, yes your answer to the question, please.

[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So you actually went in what's funny about this question is I the answers are always different.

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and Earthbound and Earthbound.

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, go ahead.

[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So you went with more of the realistic approach to this question for me.

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I go with the more comical approach and I always said the one game that will never be in my collection is the guy game.

[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Besides, you used to own that piece of shit.

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It's also technically illegal but um, what that was on Xbox right guy.

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes to and Xbox, you know the story behind it, right?

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I mean, I know that it was like wasn't it banned or something because it was like underage girls or something.

[01:05:10] [SPEAKER_01]: One of the girls was 17.

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: That was the oh, yeah, that was the thing.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_01]: No, that game though to me is fascinating mostly because the guy that created it.

[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: You can literally link the guy game to Metroid fucking Prime.

[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: What how what so the guy the guy so this is a really bizarre storyline Matt McMuscle is a great YouTuber.

[01:05:37] [SPEAKER_01]: He had a whole video on this guy.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: This is a game and he explained the story there.

[01:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: He does it much better than me but for the simple explanation the founder of top heavy Studios.

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.

[01:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: The the studio that made the guy game was a man named Jeff Spangenberg and Jeff Spangenberg his history in gaming is actually really interesting.

[01:05:58] [SPEAKER_01]: He started out over at a claim and he was the founder of Iguana Entertainment and he made a shit Astro Acro the acrobat or whatever like zero the comic Cozzy squirrel and a little known series that everyone forgot about called like her rock.

[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_01]: You probably heard of it.

[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Then he he leaves a claim.

[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And he basically makes a deal with Nintendo and starts a little known company called retro Studios.

[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and retro Studios was interesting because like when they first started they kind of had no fucking idea what they were doing and they were making like five different games and all of them were kind of lost.

[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So then Nintendo shows up and they kind of give them the Metroid IP and they're like try this and then it goes on for a while and then Miyamoto shows up and they find out Mr. Spangenberg had been making soft core porn videos on the company computers that Nintendo funded by the way.

[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So Nintendo was kind of like no.

[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So, of course, because he owned the company they couldn't they couldn't really fire him but they instead basically paid him to fuck off and they bought the company from him gave him all this money and basically just told him go away.

[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Like that's my God.

[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: He then proceeded to use said money to form top heavy studios and made the guy.

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's I mean, I guess.

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he wanted to make nasty shit.

[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So we went on to make nasty shit good for him and he's disappeared since then.

[01:07:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I have no idea what happened to him but I always laugh them like that.

[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: You can connect the guy game to fucking Metroid Prime.

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Fuck I never knew that.

[01:07:47] [SPEAKER_00]: That's cool.

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Whenever I go to conventions, I have a little game I like to do where I'll go by booth and I'll try to find all the copies of the guy game not to buy just to see how many of them are out there.

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And my favorite part is like you'll get you'll I'll do like my count day one and then I'll go day two and I'll see some of them are gone and I'll be like somebody bought one.

[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why like why would you want to like if you look at the back I was looking at like the back cover on game.

[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I like it doesn't even look fun.

[01:08:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe people want to own it because they're just like boobs.

[01:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a really shitty trivia game and it's not even like that interesting.

[01:08:29] [SPEAKER_01]: It's mostly known just because of the controversy around it.

[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: That's a controversy.

[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even want to associate with it.

[01:08:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So yep, yep, yep, yep.

[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:08:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's always a fun one.

[01:08:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I always I always remember because like I remember James when we did the first one of these he dropped the bombshell where he said his game he'd never owned in his collection is Final Fantasy six.

[01:08:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Why?

[01:08:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I forget his reasoning.

[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I'd have to go back and listen to the episode but he had like this whole like it was like this really deep like like a lot of like philosophical like reasoning and I was like, okay, yes sir, whatever you say.

[01:09:06] [SPEAKER_01]: It was an interesting one to me because I was like, wow, that's not where I expected that question to go.

[01:09:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, here I was fucking simple Simon ass Aaron going like too much money answer.

[01:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Dragoon is too damn high.

[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[01:09:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh man.

[01:09:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, collecting though.

[01:09:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it's crazy how weird this hobby has gotten over the years.

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Like GameStop's trying to do retro again, which I don't see working but I mean maybe they'll be a little bit cheaper than mom and pop stores but I guess at the same time I don't want to put mom and pop stores out of business because those are some of the best places to go like you that you can at least strike a deal with with some of those people and that's tough.

[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't been collecting as much as I used to mostly because the backlog is just too big.

[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to beat games now and I think the last last game I bought on eBay.

[01:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it actually was it was Pikmin 3 Deluxe because I'm getting into Pikmin now that NTS and 3ds are just so expensive man.

[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I got gotten all the ones like that.

[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I can get that a decent price now everything is just shooting up and I'll have to pull the trigger on fire emblem awakening though.

[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's another one.

[01:10:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I was getting every fire emblem on 3ds and I did that except for awakening.

[01:10:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess I didn't do that.

[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Did I ever tell you my Vita story?

[01:10:44] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't think so.

[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm surprised it didn't come up in this but it's probably one of my most insane collecting things I've ever done.

[01:10:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I always I call it the Vita road trip of like 20.

[01:10:55] [SPEAKER_01]: What year did the Vita get discontinued?

[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to guess I'm going to guess to 20 2015 no 16 2016.

[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Let me let me check because I honestly oh no it 2019.

[01:11:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Whoa, holy shit.

[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_01]: It lasted longer than I thought.

[01:11:18] [SPEAKER_01]: So I call this this event in my collecting history the Vita road trip of 2019.

[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So when the Vita got discontinued GameStop essentially just like fire sale pretty much all their Vita stuff like they bargain bin priced it just wanted to get rid of it.

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_01]: My stupid ass I was living at home.

[01:11:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, not stupid ass but like just my fucking nut job self decided I was still living at home didn't have bills to pay like had an entire weekend basically it was doing nothing.

[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I went on a day-long road trip across Massachusetts to every GameStop I could find and just cleaned out their Vita sections.

[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's that's how I ended up getting my massive Vita collection was I just cleaned out these bargain bin like most of the games were like five to ten dollars like GameStop was just trying to get rid of them and I went fucking nuts.

[01:12:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And I always remember like I think I paid more money in gas that day than I did on Vita games.

[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, you probably did.

[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember.

[01:12:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember one time where an old roommate and I we were driving from GameStop to GameStop because I think he was looking for a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles like the original Xenoblade on Wii because I think was only GameStop I sold it.

[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: It was a GameStop exclusive or something.

[01:12:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it was.

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, we were just going from GameStop to GameStop to GameStop to try and find a copy after like five stores.

[01:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: We ended up just like calling a bunch around us and we found one we called one that did say that they had it and it was like two fucking hours away.

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So we drove a total of four hours two hours up to go get it two hours back but he bought food so it's all good.

[01:13:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Nice.

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, collecting is just a crazy hobby like that.

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm so glad I got into it when I did because it's such an unapproachable thing these days unfortunately.

[01:13:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But that being said, thank you Aaron for joining me for this.

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I love doing these episodes and it's always fun to get different different creators like to like explain their history because the fun part about collecting is everybody's journey is different.

[01:13:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.

[01:13:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's fun to share and talk shop.

[01:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: But that being said, we've already kind of mentioned it throughout the episode but do you want to shout out your multiple projects?

[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Superpodnetwork.com man.

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_00]: It's all there.

[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty much all I'm doing now.

[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of working on a couple.

[01:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: We're working on a couple more blogs for that site because it's just fun to write about shit every so often and there's just some small topics that either don't fit into Superpod Saga or other shows that you're just like, okay, I can probably just write a blog about this.

[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Bill, Bill, or sorry, me, Bill, Adam, Matt, the Geekatics co-host.

[01:14:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think Mo in our server working on that coolest anime arcs blog.

[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_00]: It's really cool.

[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_00]: But listeners just go check out Superpodnetwork.com.

[01:14:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So many great awesome shows there.

[01:14:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Lots of videos too.

[01:14:45] [SPEAKER_00]: If there's any shows to do videos like all Bill's shows and the blog, check out the blog man.

[01:14:49] [SPEAKER_01]: It's funny.

[01:14:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It's funny because I'll usually like in the episodes, but by trying to shout out all the shows and seeing who I forget this time, but I have you here.

[01:14:58] [SPEAKER_01]: So I figured I'd let you shout out the site.

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It's cool.

[01:15:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we've grown significantly since it started.

[01:15:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Dude, how many months are we going on now?

[01:15:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think it started in June.

[01:15:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure it started in June.

[01:15:18] [SPEAKER_00]: The analytics are crazy.

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'll check the analytics every so often and we get quite a few hits off of Google, the people looking up like custom robo or just like a bunch of other hot keywords that managed to fit like the blog or managed to fit the blogs and stuff that we've done.

[01:15:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's cool, man.

[01:15:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, definitely.

[01:15:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And obviously for video listeners, the link is down there at the bottom.

[01:15:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the website address is down there at the bottom.

[01:15:44] [SPEAKER_01]: It's super easy to find.

[01:15:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It'll be in link will be in the description of the podcast.
