[00:00:00] Hey guys, on this episode of Gaming And Collecting, me and Alex are going back to our childhood again. This time talking about some all the different cartoons we watched back in the day from like Nickelodeon to Cartoon Network to Disney.

[00:00:12] Just kind of in like a sort of random fashion, kinda mostly reminiscence, probably spoilers for a lot of things going forward but for the most part we're kinda just a very chill episode just chatting about our childhoods again which is always fun.

[00:00:24] Anyways though with that, on to the music.

[00:00:30] What took you so long to start this stupid recording?

[00:00:51] Say how you been?

[00:00:53] No! I haven't! How have you been?

[00:00:58] Traffic was bad today.

[00:01:00] Oh, well I went into work late and then I stayed late today so it wasn't good.

[00:01:06] I overslept and woke up at exactly the time I had to get my ass out of bed and go to work so.

[00:01:12] Well you made it I'm guessing?

[00:01:15] I legit punched in right as it popped a six and I was like fuck yeah.

[00:01:21] Well good for you.

[00:01:23] We started this week with a car accident.

[00:01:26] Oh really?

[00:01:28] Yeah, remember I called you up?

[00:01:30] Oh yeah and that was on the way to work.

[00:01:33] Yeah, that was bad. That was like seven cars.

[00:01:37] I wasn't even going home. That was just the morning commute. What? I haven't seen a crash in the morning in a while.

[00:01:45] Yeah, I hit it and I was like what the fuck? And then I'm trying to figure out where it is.

[00:01:51] I almost dropped my drink.

[00:01:53] Nice. I was trying to figure out where it was all of a sudden I saw all the traffic shifting over and I was like,

[00:01:58] I got through it I'm like I should probably call Alex because she's probably right going to be heading right for it.

[00:02:03] Yeah that was actually really helpful because I like I moved over.

[00:02:06] Well a police officer came so we all had to move over because he was going to like help with the accident.

[00:02:11] So when like the guy had to let me over I just stayed over after.

[00:02:16] Yeah.

[00:02:17] So I left out there which was good.

[00:02:20] Yeah, but he didn't tell me I probably would have moved back. So yeah, no that was that was a that was a bad start to the week and then this week's been so Memorial Day weekends coming up so like it's been a

[00:02:32] Do you have a long weekend?

[00:02:34] Yeah, I think everyone has Monday off.

[00:02:37] I hope so. You never know. But yeah, I'm excited about that. I'm excited to do some laundry some gardening. Is that sad like math appointment laundry is exciting.

[00:02:49] No, because I mean, my house. That's what I'm excited for because this week I feel like I've been at work and then like, I just want to stay home.

[00:02:59] It's also supposed to be nice this weekend so like you can finally set up your yard. Yeah, you want help me with that.

[00:03:05] Yeah, we can make I'm kind of a little worried that there might be a critter living in there.

[00:03:11] I saw a bunny not long ago like come out from behind it. So I'm like a little worried there might be a critter so that's kind of why I've also been delaying it because I don't know what's going to be back.

[00:03:23] It's possible.

[00:03:25] Now it's just, it's one of those weeks.

[00:03:28] Oh god no, they can't even make us work Saturday on a vacation week. Nice.

[00:03:36] Oh yeah so to follow up on our last episode I went to my reunion last weekend. Oh yes, and you had a good time. Yeah it was fun. It was, it was like a very small thing like saw a bunch of people.

[00:03:48] I was amazed people remembered me. So that was a good that was a good sign.

[00:03:53] We chatted reconnected with a bunch of people like it was just a fun time everyone was super like nice there was no.

[00:04:00] It amazed me like it was a perfect sign of like you really you really see how people grow up is like everybody was just chill like you can really tell people have all reached that age now and everyone's like, yeah we're adults there's no point in high school

[00:04:13] bullshit anymore now let's just laugh about it.

[00:04:16] Nice. Well I'm glad it went well for you.

[00:04:21] Yeah, I'm not going to mind.

[00:04:24] Well, I don't think your class is even gonna get your one.

[00:04:28] Yeah, I want nothing to do with that.

[00:04:32] Yeah.

[00:04:34] So I made another discovery I texted it to you earlier this week but like they're trying to phase out self self checkout.

[00:04:43] Oh yeah I target like why it's target and apparently it's other stores.

[00:04:46] But like you also see to that.

[00:04:49] A lot like target in a lot of other companies are lowering the prices out of nowhere because they are losing customers, they're not going there anymore because it's too expensive.

[00:04:59] It was that but they're losing customers now too because I've seen it a lot of people will walk in, they will see the line for checkout like if they're going to get rid of the self checkout they have to actually have people at the registers because I'm going to be like fuck that I don't want to wait for that.

[00:05:15] It's a two for thing too because like I get the fact that like you really shouldn't be going through self checkout if you have like a full cart like loaded to the brim.

[00:05:24] Yeah stuff.

[00:05:26] But like if you're buying just like a soda.

[00:05:28] Yeah, there's no reason to make someone wait through the fucking checkout line.

[00:05:32] Yeah, they'll just go to a vending machine at that point.

[00:05:34] I've seen people abandon shit I suppose I'm gonna abandon a cart, just because they wouldn't be bothered.

[00:05:39] Especially like our target like I noticed too like sometimes the line that will wrap down a whole hallway when it's busy like crazy.

[00:05:47] And then they're just, it's slow and it's like, I get it like there's a lot of reasons behind their reasoning for it because they want to.

[00:05:56] They don't have enough people to monitor this.

[00:05:58] I'm sure it's a theft problem.

[00:06:00] I'm sure it will I know it's a theft problem because I mean like there's a little tick tock videos of people like stealing, like people like film themselves stealing and it's like a trend, like not everyone but like people do it.

[00:06:12] But I mean it's also it's so easy.

[00:06:14] Because the employees don't give a shit.

[00:06:16] Well, it's also like it's usually like a high schooler or like a college student who's like probably been yelled at like 50 times that day so like I get it.

[00:06:25] And also to I mean like even if someone does steal.

[00:06:30] I think most of the stores just tell them like not to go after them.

[00:06:33] No you can't because it's liable.

[00:06:35] Yeah, it's not worth it. So I get why Target is doing it but I'm also pissed about it because I don't want to talk to someone I just wanted mine my business checkout lead.

[00:06:45] Well, it's like especially if you have literally like two things.

[00:06:49] Like two big bins.

[00:06:50] Like I just want to go through the freaking checkout process.

[00:06:53] I just want to boop boop snap in the cart and get out of there.

[00:06:56] You know what the irony is though I was reading apparently they open them during extremely busy hours and I'm always like yeah the most optimal time to steal things like perfect.

[00:07:07] You've solved your problem Target.

[00:07:09] Yeah.

[00:07:12] We'll see we'll see how long it lasts. We'll see a lot.

[00:07:15] I have a strong feeling that they are going to reopen it but they're going to have specific signs specifying.

[00:07:21] At the end field.

[00:07:24] I've only been to the one that's close to us in the mall there.

[00:07:29] Okay.

[00:07:31] But it happened. It happened three times. So I looked it up and apparently it's a thing that's happening.

[00:07:38] So gross.

[00:07:42] They just spent all this money to to install all these self checkouts and like now they're not using them.

[00:07:47] Yeah, yeah.

[00:07:52] The worst part too is though the lines will be backed up and you'll see just employees just standing around doing nothing and you're like, well, especially like I hope grocery stores don't start doing that because like, personally, I just like to bag my own groceries because

[00:08:05] I'm sorry, it stresses me out watching someone like just throw my food in there with like no rhyme or reason that everything gets crushed.

[00:08:12] Like I kind of hate that so.

[00:08:15] I'm amazed they're doing it too especially in like a post COVID world.

[00:08:19] Yeah.

[00:08:20] Like this it's just another sign of everything just reverting back immediately.

[00:08:26] Yeah. Well, I hope they turn back on that because like, you know,

[00:08:31] No, I don't. I'm going to walk in that.

[00:08:33] The goal and the target is immediately going down for me.

[00:08:36] Oh no, like my new thing though is I'll walk in if it's closed I'll just leave. I'll go somewhere else.

[00:08:42] Yeah.

[00:08:43] Not to sound petty like I have nothing against the actual employees working there but

[00:08:48] If I'm buying one thing I'm not waiting for like 20 minutes.

[00:08:53] I will say I want grocery shopping at Walmart on the way home from dance on Monday because it was just easier and I needed to pick up a lot of snacks and they have all their full checkout so

[00:09:04] Their self checkouts open. So maybe this is Walmart's time to shine.

[00:09:09] I think grocery stores are

[00:09:11] Walmart, Walmart, Walmart, great value, great value.

[00:09:15] Thank you.

[00:09:17] I think grocery stores are

[00:09:18] Have you heard the Walmart chant?

[00:09:20] Yes, I've seen multiple videos.

[00:09:25] That's like what okay Alex.

[00:09:27] When I worked when I worked third shift, we used to go to Walmart during work hours because of course.

[00:09:34] And we would be in there just shooting the shit or doing something and the chant happened once while we were there and I was like what is going on.

[00:09:41] So scared. I would have just ran out of the Walmart like who are these people chanting.

[00:09:46] It is cult like it is the cult of Sam Walton.

[00:09:49] I wonder how many Among Us things are in the ceiling tiles though.

[00:09:52] Probably not as many as you think. I think it's just one guy.

[00:09:55] Move, move.

[00:09:58] Brings me joy every time I see that video though.

[00:10:01] Also, this, this, I just, this episode now I'm like kind of fired up and I have to bitch.

[00:10:07] Oh boy.

[00:10:09] Another thing too about waiting in lines that drives me nuts now.

[00:10:13] People who have no sense of fucking space like you don't need to be up the person in front of you's ass.

[00:10:19] Like give them, like leave a gap.

[00:10:22] Like that I hate standing line I can feel the guy behind me breathing on me and I'm like and then you move forward and then they move forward and you're like dude stop.

[00:10:31] Yeah, if it's a carriage you can kind of bump the carriage.

[00:10:34] I'm sorry you're too close.

[00:10:36] Or when it's when it's like little kids and they're like in your space and you're like.

[00:10:39] Well that's when you just go.

[00:10:44] Yeah, that doesn't run away.

[00:10:46] That doesn't work as an adult male like people give you strange looks.

[00:10:51] That's when you just go.

[00:10:53] You should make a weird noise.

[00:10:55] Be like, Oh, take your child away from that scary man.

[00:11:00] Yeah.

[00:11:02] Yeah, just to annoyances also tipping cultures getting out of hand.

[00:11:07] Yeah, I will say sometimes it's a little it's a little crazy.

[00:11:11] Like, well, did you see that thing going around on like Facebook and Reddit.

[00:11:15] No, it was a picture of one of the card swipers, and they taped over the no tip option.

[00:11:21] Oh yeah, I saw that which everyone was enraged but then I commented below all you have to do is press three.

[00:11:29] If you look closely, you can see everyone knows that.

[00:11:32] Well, that what happens is people panic and then they hit the thing because they don't have to do but if you actually look at it, you just hit three.

[00:11:39] Yeah, that's technically illegal too I think.

[00:11:44] Well, they better take it down because it could be a lawsuit on their hands.

[00:11:49] But either that or it's fake.

[00:11:51] There's still a very high possibility that entire pictures fake.

[00:11:54] I feel bad because there's some like obviously you go to a restaurant, you leave it because like it's just the restaurant culture you have to especially with how they're paid but like sometimes when I'm like, I'm just picking up a meal like, I don't know, like, picking up something and like you're like you're not even serving me like you didn't made the like awkward like you're like, I'm sorry, like because now I feel like every time you go somewhere.

[00:12:21] I feel like it's awkward now because they're just staring at you like, please tip. And I'm just like, but

[00:12:27] I know if they get if they get weird about it I won't tip.

[00:12:30] I just feel like it's always uncomfortable now like tipping cultures just like this uncomfortable pressure now which is like kind of sucks.

[00:12:38] I always tip unless they get aggressive if they get aggressive about it I'm not tipping.

[00:12:43] I always like leave something like if I'm in a coffee shop especially like, I don't know, like a really busy coffee shop. Yeah, I'll leave a tip, you know, I'll always leave a tip there.

[00:12:52] I don't, I don't like the snide comments that some of them leave though that that always bugs the shit out of me but

[00:12:58] yeah, that's the society we live in now.

[00:13:01] What are you gonna do?

[00:13:02] Also when you use a...

[00:13:03] That's funny though like, because I've gone overseas and then like you have to like basically throw tipping out the window because it's not a thing.

[00:13:10] I know.

[00:13:12] That's why, that's why I read it's hilarious to me because it's, despite what people think it's mostly not Americans on there and like whenever the tipping stuff comes up I always love the comments being like what the fuck is this?

[00:13:23] Yeah.

[00:13:25] Yeah.

[00:13:27] It's... Are you good over there?

[00:13:34] Yes, I thought I heard, I thought I heard Ms. Poo.

[00:13:38] But I didn't hear Ms. Poo.

[00:13:41] I think people know I have Ms. Poo now, my cat.

[00:13:45] And Ms. Poo, she doesn't, she didn't come out to say hi to Bill though when he fed her.

[00:13:51] No, she doesn't really come down like, like till used to till you still like be right there waiting for me.

[00:13:57] Like she's still like very, you know, still adjusting.

[00:14:00] She's only been with me for like a couple weeks so it's still new.

[00:14:05] But I think she's doing pretty good.

[00:14:06] I mean she let you pet her the first time you came so that's progress.

[00:14:11] I can get a pet every now and then.

[00:14:13] Yeah.

[00:14:14] Ms. Poo.

[00:14:16] It's really funny though I had to call the vet recently because I need to get her a shot before I take her to the groomer.

[00:14:22] And they were like, what's the cat's name?

[00:14:25] And I was like, Poo.

[00:14:27] And it's like, but like winning the poo not like poop poo.

[00:14:33] So every time, well I have to say that because it's not going to be a POO and it's POO8.

[00:14:41] It's like winning the poo not shit.

[00:14:43] Like you know.

[00:14:44] Yeah.

[00:14:46] So that's been fun every time I do that.

[00:14:49] It's been great.

[00:14:51] Yeah.

[00:14:53] We have a topic today, don't we?

[00:14:55] We do.

[00:14:56] So.

[00:14:57] Guess what?

[00:14:58] We're not talking about it.

[00:14:59] Thanks so much you guys for listening to the gaming.

[00:15:03] Listening to us bitch for 14 minutes.

[00:15:06] That's it.

[00:15:07] Fuck you.

[00:15:08] Bye.

[00:15:10] No.

[00:15:11] In reality though we do have a topic.

[00:15:13] So back in season one we talked about weird TV shows.

[00:15:18] Our first like diverse, one of our first diversions from being solely a gaming podcast.

[00:15:25] About Belba how he didn't remember Go Go Island.

[00:15:30] I still don't remember that show.

[00:15:32] How fucking dare you.

[00:15:33] It's a masterpiece.

[00:15:34] Whatever.

[00:15:35] So we thought it's been over 100 episodes and we thought you know what?

[00:15:41] We should probably cover some more shows that we watched back in the day because this is a nostalgia podcast.

[00:15:47] And we like to talk about different things like that.

[00:15:49] And honestly that old episode is kind of dated and I'd like to revisit it slightly.

[00:15:55] So yes.

[00:15:57] Yeah.

[00:15:58] To start off I'd actually like to bring up that I've been on a South Park binge for like two weeks now.

[00:16:05] I'm not gonna lie the new episodes pretty good.

[00:16:11] We should also mention spoiler warning just going ahead.

[00:16:15] We're probably gonna spoil stuff.

[00:16:18] Yeah the new South Park episodes have been pretty good.

[00:16:21] They did this really good episode that made fun of like AI and stuff that was really spot on.

[00:16:26] Any cyber trucks?

[00:16:31] No they haven't really done any Musk jokes lately.

[00:16:35] Oh they did an entire so they're doing kind of a thing now where they're doing shorter seasons.

[00:16:40] And then they have longer specials to balance it out.

[00:16:43] And they did a special recently that like just makes fun of like Logan Paul.

[00:16:48] Nice.

[00:16:50] Or is it Jake?

[00:16:51] Whichever the Prime one.

[00:16:53] Logan.

[00:16:55] Okay Logan.

[00:16:56] The forest guy.

[00:16:57] Yeah I know.

[00:16:59] The forest one.

[00:17:01] Yeah they did a whole episode making fun of like Prime but they call it cred and they're all like you need to have your cred.

[00:17:07] Honestly as they should because Logan Paul sucks.

[00:17:12] Yeah it was just a funny episode.

[00:17:15] The concepts are really good.

[00:17:17] It amazes me how that show is still relevant even to these days.

[00:17:21] Yeah that was one we didn't get into until like way later on.

[00:17:28] That was one of the ones like we were sheltered kids and mom was like no way are you watching this it's very inappropriate.

[00:17:35] We were sheltered kids but we got away with watching like Family Guy and the Simpsons which aren't any better in reality.

[00:17:42] Well I mean but like I feel like South Park goes a little raunchier at times and like a little more you know I feel like it goes a little farther.

[00:17:51] South Park is literally the show that insults everybody.

[00:17:54] Yeah so probably wasn't appropriate.

[00:17:57] So we're talking about shows from our childhood though right?

[00:18:00] Childhood or like a gentily related.

[00:18:03] I just figured that would be a good start off because I've been watching a lot of it lately.

[00:18:09] Lionel watched a lot of SpongeBob.

[00:18:15] SpongeBob came out during our...

[00:18:18] Like it came out and we watched like the premiere and the pilots.

[00:18:23] We were there from the beginning.

[00:18:26] 1999.

[00:18:28] And then we said no more.

[00:18:29] No I didn't even watch that far.

[00:18:31] I was in the toenail.

[00:18:33] 1999 SpongeBob debuted.

[00:18:36] I still remember the first episode.

[00:18:39] It wasn't technically the pilot.

[00:18:41] It was the...

[00:18:43] Well it wasn't the first episode chronologically.

[00:18:45] It was the bubble stand episode.

[00:18:47] The first one they played.

[00:18:49] And I still remember watching that and like just being mesmerized by like how fucking ridiculous.

[00:18:56] Like I could still recite it like you know like double time stop.

[00:19:00] Three, two, one and pelvic thrust.

[00:19:03] And bring it around town.

[00:19:06] Bring it around town.

[00:19:09] Yeah.

[00:19:10] A classic.

[00:19:12] That episode was great.

[00:19:13] They also like...

[00:19:15] All up to like the movie.

[00:19:17] Like anything after the movie I feel like it kind of went downhill.

[00:19:21] But like all the stuff leading up to it was awesome.

[00:19:25] I remember the pilot.

[00:19:27] Because like you remember too like the second episode was Ripped Pants.

[00:19:33] The fool who went pain, ripped his pants.

[00:19:37] I mean I know that song is still stuck in my head.

[00:19:39] And I can probably sing the whole song.

[00:19:41] It's crazy.

[00:19:42] There was some crazy stuff too.

[00:19:44] Like the technically first episode was the one where he gets the job at the Krusty Krab.

[00:19:48] Yeah.

[00:19:49] And I still remember that song like note for note.

[00:19:52] Like the...

[00:19:55] Yep.

[00:19:57] Where it's like all the um...

[00:19:59] What were they?

[00:20:00] The anchovies.

[00:20:01] The anchovies.

[00:20:02] That's it.

[00:20:03] And they're all in there and they're like...

[00:20:05] We're hungry.

[00:20:06] Yep.

[00:20:07] And he feeds them all.

[00:20:08] I remember that.

[00:20:09] That one also had that weird like silent film.

[00:20:12] That mini episode in the middle where like it was like the leaf growers.

[00:20:16] Yeah.

[00:20:19] But they had like some fun long specials too.

[00:20:23] Like the Gary come home.

[00:20:26] I remember that one.

[00:20:28] I remember the last episode because the lead up to that was fucking insane.

[00:20:32] Oh yeah when they used to have like the pirate guy like come in with his goggles and stuff.

[00:20:37] Patchy the pirate played by Tom Kenny.

[00:20:40] Yes.

[00:20:42] I love that too because like the running joke when they finally found the 100th episode

[00:20:47] and it's just like the walk cycle for 20 minutes and he's like...

[00:20:50] What the hell is this?

[00:20:51] That's it.

[00:20:52] And he rips off his spudgy pub underpants, destroys everything

[00:20:56] and then the real episode pops up and he just rewinds time.

[00:20:59] Like nothing happened.

[00:21:02] Spongebob is a classic.

[00:21:04] I mean I'm still glad it's going to this date right?

[00:21:07] It is.

[00:21:09] They've done three movies.

[00:21:11] The second movie was bad.

[00:21:13] Yeah.

[00:21:14] I don't know what anyone says that we got the origin story for the painting guy and then it turned into a rap.

[00:21:22] Like it was the weirdest fucking thing ever.

[00:21:24] Yeah.

[00:21:25] It wasn't a great take.

[00:21:28] Then the first movie was just such a great ending for that series.

[00:21:31] Oh yeah.

[00:21:32] Like it was just the perfect of like oh Spongebob got promoted.

[00:21:35] Now there's two Krusty Krabbs and they just like brush over that and never happened.

[00:21:40] My favorite line from that movie is still like Mr. Krabbs,

[00:21:43] what can pulse you to build a second identical Krusty Krabb right next to the first one?

[00:21:48] Money.

[00:21:49] It's like that line is so relevant even today.

[00:21:52] Like you can use that for so many things.

[00:21:55] Yeah.

[00:21:56] I miss classic Spongebob.

[00:21:58] I should go back and watch.

[00:22:00] I miss classic Spongebob but I also miss classic Nickelodeon.

[00:22:04] Yeah.

[00:22:05] Like before Spongebob.

[00:22:06] Rugrats?

[00:22:07] Rugrats.

[00:22:08] Hey Arnold.

[00:22:09] Hey Arnold.

[00:22:10] The Wild Thornberrys?

[00:22:12] Wild Thornberrys was a good one.

[00:22:15] I didn't like Catdog.

[00:22:17] I'm in like the weird minority who I never liked that show.

[00:22:20] I can't remember anything from it so I can't remember if I liked it or not

[00:22:26] because I really couldn't tell you a single thing that happened.

[00:22:29] I just remember the theme song.

[00:22:32] That's it.

[00:22:33] That's what most people remember.

[00:22:34] My problem with the show was like I'm sure it was deeper and had some meaning at points

[00:22:40] but all I remember from that show is like every episode,

[00:22:42] like it's literally a show about this freak of nature that everybody just hates for no reason.

[00:22:48] Yeah.

[00:22:49] And then they just beat the shit out of them in every episode.

[00:22:52] They were really mean to Catdog.

[00:22:54] Yeah.

[00:22:55] Literally every episode ends with them getting the shit kicked out of them.

[00:22:58] It was such an unpleasant show.

[00:23:01] Yeah.

[00:23:02] I usually, that's when I would switch to video game mode as a kid.

[00:23:07] Hey Arnold.

[00:23:10] Hey Arnold was fucking deep.

[00:23:12] Like that was a deep...

[00:23:13] Yeah.

[00:23:14] I see clips of that now and I'm like whoa, that went over some deep topics.

[00:23:19] The Pigeon Man episode.

[00:23:21] The Pigeon Man episode.

[00:23:23] Yeah.

[00:23:24] Or I mean I just see clips of like, what was her name?

[00:23:28] The one who really liked Arnold?

[00:23:30] Oh, Helga.

[00:23:31] Not in general, Holga.

[00:23:32] And you look at the clips of like Holga's family life

[00:23:35] and how it shows her mom had a drinking problem.

[00:23:38] Her mom was clearly an alcoholic.

[00:23:40] And I didn't, I never would have noticed as a kid

[00:23:42] but then looking at it now I'm like holy shit.

[00:23:45] It's just, it's interesting when you go and look back.

[00:23:48] You know that there was supposed to be a Hey Arnold spin-off called The Patakis

[00:23:52] which was going to just revolve around Helga's family?

[00:23:55] Mm-hmm.

[00:23:56] And it was, I believe it was scrapped because it was too dark.

[00:24:00] Too dark, yeah.

[00:24:01] But I mean like, some of the stuff in there was deep.

[00:24:05] The mom was clearly an alcoholic

[00:24:07] and the dad was clearly an abusive asshole.

[00:24:09] And like even the older sister was so like perfect

[00:24:13] because that's the only way she could survive in that family

[00:24:15] and it made her like this broken in other ways.

[00:24:18] Like Helga was honestly the only normal one when you really think about it.

[00:24:22] Yeah.

[00:24:23] And she had a fucking shrine in her room to Arnold.

[00:24:26] Yeah, like the gum shrine or something.

[00:24:28] Wasn't it like made of gum or something?

[00:24:30] It changed on the daily.

[00:24:32] Like it was different all the time.

[00:24:35] That thing must have stunk.

[00:24:36] Yeah, probably.

[00:24:38] Yeah, that's, Hey Arnold was so fucking cool.

[00:24:42] Like I've been re-watching parts of it every now and then

[00:24:44] and it's like, it held up a lot better than I would have expected.

[00:24:48] Of course.

[00:24:51] I remember that one.

[00:24:52] I still remember like Rocco's Modern Life was another big one that like...

[00:24:55] I remember like the characters,

[00:24:58] but I couldn't tell you a single episode.

[00:25:00] Got no rough collection of episodes.

[00:25:02] You were probably too young for Rocco's.

[00:25:04] The only memory I have is that you and dad were watching Jaws

[00:25:09] and I was scared so I was in the basement watching Rocco's Modern Life

[00:25:12] and that's my only memory of watching it.

[00:25:15] That's it.

[00:25:16] So by me and dad watching Jaws,

[00:25:18] there's probably more dad watching Jaws than me playing on my Game Boy

[00:25:21] because I didn't actually want to watch Jaws.

[00:25:23] Yeah, I mean you could have been watching it.

[00:25:25] No, I think you were because like you could have been watching

[00:25:29] or maybe you weren't there.

[00:25:30] Maybe you weren't home.

[00:25:31] Maybe that was it.

[00:25:32] No, I remember watching it,

[00:25:33] but like I'd always like look away during the shark scenes

[00:25:36] because I was scared.

[00:25:37] Yeah, so scary.

[00:25:38] It's a scary movie.

[00:25:40] But yeah, that's just my one memory of Rocco's Modern Life

[00:25:44] and that's why I watched that instead.

[00:25:50] That's a show that you should watch nowadays

[00:25:52] because you'd probably appreciate it more

[00:25:54] because it is a show that I think we were too young for.

[00:25:57] I could add it to the list,

[00:25:58] but like I can't have any more shows to my list at this point.

[00:26:01] I don't have time to watch anything.

[00:26:04] I know.

[00:26:05] So bad.

[00:26:06] It was just one of those really weird meta shows.

[00:26:08] Like one of my favorite things is like they

[00:26:11] there's an episode where Rocco loses his job

[00:26:14] and he's like trying to find a new job.

[00:26:16] So he's taking all these odd jobs.

[00:26:18] And one of them is he takes a job as a blonde beaver

[00:26:21] or the red nose beaver.

[00:26:23] You're thinking of an entirely different show.

[00:26:26] Oh, no, I even think of Beaver's.

[00:26:30] Rocco's Modern Life was about everything back.

[00:26:35] I don't know why.

[00:26:36] I think I saw an image of the angry beaver since I was a kid.

[00:26:40] Angry beavers who just was like Rocco's Modern Life.

[00:26:42] But yeah, that story revolved around the angry beavers,

[00:26:46] not Rocco's Modern Life.

[00:26:48] I was going to say because like Rocco's Modern Life had like Rocco

[00:26:53] and Heifer the cow and then like...

[00:26:55] No, no, no, no.

[00:26:57] It was just in my brain.

[00:26:59] It was angry beavers.

[00:27:01] It was Rocco's Modern Life.

[00:27:03] Sorry.

[00:27:04] The second you said blonde beaver,

[00:27:06] I was like, what are you talking about, Alice?

[00:27:12] I'm tired.

[00:27:13] That's fine.

[00:27:14] I was going to say though,

[00:27:15] there's literally an episode of Rocco's Modern Life where Rocco loses his job.

[00:27:19] And it's a whole parody of...

[00:27:21] The episode is kind of a meta-parody on the whole you're just a mindless drone.

[00:27:25] You're not even a person.

[00:27:26] You're just a number mentality thing.

[00:27:30] And there's a point where he's trying all these different odd jobs to get off his feet.

[00:27:36] And at one point he gets a job as an adult phone operator.

[00:27:40] Oh, God.

[00:27:41] And like literally his dial...

[00:27:42] They're like just be natural.

[00:27:46] Sorry.

[00:27:47] And there's like a little like advice card and it literally says be cool, be sexy, be hot.

[00:27:56] It's just like his kid show.

[00:27:58] I need to do something Rocco.

[00:28:00] But no, no, it gets great though because it literally...

[00:28:02] He then cuts to him trying it out.

[00:28:03] He just goes, oh baby, oh baby, oh baby.

[00:28:06] And then it cuts to Mrs. Bighead on the other end of the gun.

[00:28:10] She just goes Rocco and he goes Mrs. Bighead.

[00:28:13] Then it just cuts from there.

[00:28:15] It is such a great, great show.

[00:28:18] Bill did you watch The Angry Beavers?

[00:28:20] I vaguely remember The Angry Beavers.

[00:28:23] I just remember The Jaws movie.

[00:28:26] I vaguely remember that show.

[00:28:36] Oh, my brain.

[00:28:38] See, my problem with The Angry Beavers was only one of them was angry.

[00:28:42] Yeah, the other one was really chilled.

[00:28:44] The blonde one was really chilled.

[00:28:46] He was like stoned.

[00:28:47] He was just stoned out of his mind.

[00:28:49] Yeah, very high.

[00:28:51] And whenever he turned into Muscular Beaver.

[00:28:54] I don't remember that.

[00:28:56] You have more memories of it than me.

[00:28:58] I just remember it because it was ridiculous.

[00:29:02] Bill, do you remember Dragon Tales?

[00:29:05] Yes, because of that gif I like to send people.

[00:29:08] No, but did you actually...

[00:29:10] Me and mom would watch it when I was younger in the mornings when it was on PBS at like 5 a.m.

[00:29:17] Mom would always wake up early and I would go and hang out with her.

[00:29:21] I think it was in their bedroom because they had a TV up there and we would just hang out.

[00:29:26] We would watch Dragon Tales in the morning.

[00:29:28] I just remember those memories fondly.

[00:29:31] I remember that show when it started.

[00:29:35] I have vague memories of it because I think I was too old for it when it came out.

[00:29:40] I love Dragon Tales.

[00:29:43] That's the reason why I watched it so much was just because

[00:29:49] Remember we had to share the TV so we had to split TV time and I had to watch what you watched.

[00:29:54] And you watched a lot of Dragon Tales.

[00:29:56] It was a good show with the music and the adventure and the magic.

[00:30:03] What did you just do?

[00:30:05] I'm just going to ruin Dragon Tales for you.

[00:30:08] Don't you fucking...

[00:30:09] No! I've seen that gif before.

[00:30:12] God fucking damn it.

[00:30:13] Why does the sleeping bag look like that?

[00:30:17] No, I'm right.

[00:30:18] It's wrong.

[00:30:20] I got that one from Retro Hangover.

[00:30:23] I love that gif.

[00:30:24] No more talking about Dragon Tales before you ruin more of my childhood.

[00:30:28] I am going to say, do you remember really late towards the end of its run when they introduced the third boy?

[00:30:36] No.

[00:30:37] Well, they had another kid that joined them.

[00:30:40] I just vaguely remember that.

[00:30:42] I have no recollection of that so I'm going to keep it that way.

[00:30:45] I'm going to remember the good times.

[00:30:47] I only remember this because you made me watch it.

[00:30:50] What about Arthur?

[00:30:52] I freaking loved Arthur.

[00:30:54] People adore Arthur.

[00:30:57] Because it's an awesome show and DW is the best character in that show.

[00:31:02] I think you're a compilation for being a little shit.

[00:31:07] Arthur just wanted to fucking like...

[00:31:10] First off, Arthur was in the right in the fucking Arthur's Big Hit.

[00:31:14] I don't care what anyone says.

[00:31:16] DW deserved it.

[00:31:17] I know.

[00:31:18] She deserves some of the stuff that comes her but some of the lines that she says are just like are so fucking funny.

[00:31:25] Oh, she was a savage.

[00:31:26] Oh my God.

[00:31:27] My favorite scene still to this day is the one where it's like a friend visiting and DW just straight face happy smile goes,

[00:31:35] Hey, hey, Cynthia.

[00:31:36] How are you doing?

[00:31:37] And she's like, I'm doing good DW.

[00:31:39] She's like, Hey, guess what, Cynthia.

[00:31:41] Cynthia is like, What?

[00:31:42] Why don't you leave and stop bothering me?

[00:31:45] But she's just like get the fuck out of my head.

[00:31:48] I'm just trying to figure out where you got Cynthia from because the girl's name was Francine.

[00:31:52] Oh, Francine.

[00:31:53] That's it.

[00:31:54] Francine.

[00:31:55] I don't know.

[00:31:56] You know what?

[00:31:57] Because we're talking about Rugrats and Rugrats, the doll's name is Cynthia.

[00:32:00] But I freaking love that clip.

[00:32:02] But I freaking love that clip.

[00:32:04] But also just like you got to watch the compilation of like DW's best moments.

[00:32:08] This sign can't stop me.

[00:32:10] I can't read.

[00:32:11] I can't read.

[00:32:12] Or just like I need to look up because like oh my God, DW was the best character.

[00:32:19] Also, my favorite is they did like a parody of The Sopranos at one point as like a way of like talking about censorship.

[00:32:28] It was a censorship parody because they used it to like explain how bleeping worked.

[00:32:32] But it was a Sopranos parody and I'm like, what kid is going to get this joke?

[00:32:37] Yeah, I remember that.

[00:32:42] That was one of those.

[00:32:43] That was like a running theme.

[00:32:45] Go on.

[00:32:50] I was going to say that was like a running theme of like shows doing like swearing parodies.

[00:33:03] Like you remember the sailor mouth episode of SpongeBob, right?

[00:33:07] Yes.

[00:33:09] And the uncensored clips of that have finally started appearing by the way.

[00:33:14] Were they actually swearing?

[00:33:16] Oh yeah.

[00:33:17] There's a clip of Tom Kenny screaming blow me that you can find.

[00:33:21] That is so funny.

[00:33:23] Oh, another DW quote that I found.

[00:33:25] I don't care about the president.

[00:33:27] I care about ponies.

[00:33:29] That's a good one.

[00:33:30] My favorite was when she wanted to get take a book out of the library and she wanted it, but she didn't have a library card.

[00:33:35] So she wanted Arthur to check it out.

[00:33:37] He's like, I can't check out a baby book.

[00:33:39] They'll only make me buy baby books from now on.

[00:33:42] And it was one of the weird trippy Arthur dream sequences.

[00:33:45] Yeah.

[00:33:49] Yeah.

[00:33:50] I always remember that show.

[00:33:53] You got to look up the compilations of that.

[00:33:56] I mean, the full Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde parody too, which that song is still in my head to this day whenever I think of Arthur.

[00:34:04] I always remember the head lice episode.

[00:34:09] Oh, the lice episode.

[00:34:11] Yeah, because just the stinky bunny didn't get lice.

[00:34:14] Buster didn't get lice because he was fucking gross.

[00:34:17] And they just were like, no, it's too dangerous here.

[00:34:21] That episode scared me as a kid because it was like the whole, don't pass around.

[00:34:28] People's hats.

[00:34:29] You never know.

[00:34:30] And I was always like, ee.

[00:34:33] Do you remember Rocket Power?

[00:34:36] Rocket Power.

[00:34:37] Okay, so Rocket Power is a weird one for me.

[00:34:40] This show is so 90s.

[00:34:44] Oh yeah.

[00:34:46] It is such a time period piece.

[00:34:49] But I actually have looked into a couple episodes.

[00:34:53] I've watched deep dive discussions and commentary discussions from YouTubers that have actually broken down some of the Rocket Power episodes.

[00:35:02] And that show was deeper than I remember.

[00:35:05] Yeah.

[00:35:06] Because there were some surprising character moments, despite the show being mostly extreme sports.

[00:35:12] Yeah.

[00:35:13] I love the characters.

[00:35:20] That one I really like the designs.

[00:35:23] Just the art itself too.

[00:35:25] That's when a class key Cupsco did like owned seven shows on Nickelodeon.

[00:35:31] I mean, they were doing Rugrats, Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, Real Monsters and As Told by Ginger.

[00:35:41] Yeah.

[00:35:42] As Told by Ginger was a good one too.

[00:35:44] That's a show that's very deep and I feel like it came out at such a weird time for Nickelodeon.

[00:35:50] Yeah.

[00:35:51] Because it's a really decent show with some really deep characters and surprisingly progressive theming that was very different for Nickelodeon at the time.

[00:36:05] But I feel like it got overshadowed by everything else on at the time.

[00:36:10] No, it was almost like there was too much going on.

[00:36:14] They needed to balance between just enough shows and not too many.

[00:36:19] It's a show that people always say like is better for streaming because now you can just watch it in one go and you'll actually get the ongoing plot.

[00:36:28] I mean, because no, that's a really good point because at the time we watched most of these shows, I mean, you kind of just pieced together random episodes.

[00:36:36] So the shows that were the ones that didn't necessarily have a storyline like Spongebob.

[00:36:42] I mean, Spongebob, besides that he's a fry cook and works at the Krusty Krab, I mean there was no interconnected story.

[00:36:49] The shows that had those, they kind of struggled more just due to how TV shows worked at the time.

[00:36:55] As Told by Ginger had some pretty deep episodes too.

[00:37:00] One that I remember in particular is it's the episode where she's performing in a talent show, I think at the school.

[00:37:12] And she really wants to meet her dad, but her dad at that point in the show was kind of a mystery figure.

[00:37:18] He'd been gone for so long and he had left his number in a card so she left him a message asking him to come to her show.

[00:37:27] And of course, this is also the episode where her mom brings snake eggs in the fridge because her brother was a psychopath.

[00:37:36] And her brother becomes like gets bit by a monkey and has like this weird monkey disorder thing going on.

[00:37:44] So they can't go to the show.

[00:37:46] And of course, the mom knows that dad's not going to show up.

[00:37:50] She sends like flowers in the dad's name after the performance.

[00:37:54] And you get this scene at the end where Ginger thanks her mom for the flowers because she knows and it's like that's really sad but also really heartwarming at the same time.

[00:38:02] Yeah.

[00:38:04] You did meet her dad later on in the series and he is not what you'd expect at first.

[00:38:11] Yeah, that's a show I got to rewatch at some point.

[00:38:13] No, me too.

[00:38:15] It gets weird from what I remember.

[00:38:17] I'd like to watch it in a, you know, like the flow of the story for sure.

[00:38:22] Yeah, it's that's that's a good one.

[00:38:25] Going back to us staying in the class we goops go realm going back wild thorn berries was always an interesting show.

[00:38:31] I think that was a very underrated show too.

[00:38:34] I'm not gonna lie.

[00:38:36] I did not really care much about Eliza or or well I love Darwin for different reasons.

[00:38:42] I never really cared what Eliza was doing.

[00:38:44] I was always way more interested in what the family was doing back on the bus.

[00:38:47] Yeah, like when the when the mom like runs the freaking like bus full of nuns off the road.

[00:38:55] Yep.

[00:38:56] For throwing a suitcase full of soap at her.

[00:39:00] I always remember that that was a crazy one.

[00:39:02] Also, Nigel Thornberry.

[00:39:07] I'll do this with my hands.

[00:39:12] He was the best care who voiced Nigel Thornberry.

[00:39:15] Tim Curry.

[00:39:17] Wow.

[00:39:19] Tim Curry did a lot of these shows.

[00:39:21] Yeah, I just his performance is so fucking good.

[00:39:25] And like Nigel is a deep character too because like he comes off as this like doofy doofy bastard but then he has like these really heartwarming episodes like the one where Eliza gets like caught in the

[00:39:36] snow and then he like rescues her single handedly.

[00:39:40] Like, he was a goofball but he actually did know what he was doing for the most part.

[00:39:45] There's a reason why their show is so successful.

[00:39:47] Yeah.

[00:39:50] What's another?

[00:39:52] Actually before we move on to another show do you remember like that period in Nickelodeon where like all they were trying to give all the shows movies?

[00:39:59] Because I remember.

[00:40:01] I remember the Hey Arnold movie.

[00:40:03] And I remember the Wild Thornberry's movie.

[00:40:06] And I remember both of them like kind of bombed.

[00:40:09] Yeah, yeah.

[00:40:13] Well the Hey Arnold movie apparently wasn't even supposed to be a movie it was originally just like big episodes right too long.

[00:40:20] It was supposed to be a made for TV special.

[00:40:23] And he wanted the jungle movie to be the actual movie.

[00:40:29] But Nickelodeon wanted the first one out quicker, so they like dolled it up for a movie and it bombed and then because of that they never got did the jungle movie until like way later down the line.

[00:40:39] What a shitty.

[00:40:41] Oh, there's just Nickelodeon's, they had to, Hey Arnold was on its way out and they were making way for other shows.

[00:40:47] Yeah, no I do remember.

[00:40:50] So the Wild Thornberry's movie was good though.

[00:40:55] Like I like that one.

[00:40:56] I actually thought that was a decent movie.

[00:40:59] It's a good movie.

[00:41:01] Well I liked it because like it was very realistic you know like if they can't like it was like I mean like the whole fact of like the family struggling between like okay we need to figure out what to do with our kids education like they can't we can't keep going on the road with them and it was like an easy

[00:41:16] road with them and it was like an interesting you know family dilemma. It was kind of nice to see, you know.

[00:41:23] Yeah, and then they can really throw it away for progress.

[00:41:27] Later down that movie sucks.

[00:41:31] Yeah.

[00:41:33] To me like that movie I was like if this was reality all of them would be

[00:41:37] It really destroys that movie for me is that they gave the dog a voice and I'm like,

[00:41:42] Bruce Willis.

[00:41:44] It's Bruce Willis.

[00:41:46] I know and I hate it.

[00:41:48] Just don't like that.

[00:41:49] I'm like he's not supposed to be a dog.

[00:41:52] No, I don't know.

[00:41:54] It's just like this.

[00:41:56] There's so much hilarious in that movie.

[00:42:05] I remember we've watched like the first five episodes and we were like this show. They show shit, they show straight up.

[00:42:15] It hasn't left the body yet but it was it was poop.

[00:42:22] I don't care what anyone says.

[00:42:25] That show was interesting like I still look back on and I'm like, I remember why we would watch this but I don't really get why we watch this.

[00:42:34] I don't really get why we watched it.

[00:42:38] Educational.

[00:42:40] Yeah, vaguely anyway.

[00:42:45] Remember recess in the recess.

[00:42:48] Did that start with a movie and then the show or was it okay?

[00:42:51] It was the show that it had the big movie and then there was supposed to be another season, but they canceled that and just made the episodes they had planned for that next season into like these two mini movies.

[00:43:03] Okay, because I remember recess.

[00:43:06] It was a fun show. Recess was a good show. I enjoyed the whole idea of that show especially when you were because that came out at a good time because we were still in.

[00:43:16] Yeah, we were still in recess. Recess was still a concept.

[00:43:20] Yeah, I like recess. I like the movie. The Green Tambourines fills in my head to this day like that recess.

[00:43:28] I remember it.

[00:43:29] Recess schools out is like one of those kids movies.

[00:43:34] I go back to it because we watched it recently and I remember thinking like this is still good.

[00:43:39] Like it was yeah, like it was a really good movie.

[00:43:42] It had such an interesting like soundtrack to because they used a lot of real songs like there's a there's a part where like TJ is on his own and it's like one is the loneliest number by three dog nights just playing in the background like this works a little too well.

[00:43:55] Yep.

[00:43:56] Yeah, that was a weird point in time because those were technically Disney shows but they aired on like CBS.

[00:44:04] Yeah.

[00:44:05] So like we'd have to go to a different channel to watch.

[00:44:12] That was, I like to recess a lot.

[00:44:16] I guess like we should probably transfer over to Cartoon Network for a bit now.

[00:44:20] Oh yeah.

[00:44:22] There are some great ones on Cartoon Network.

[00:44:25] I mean, and we weren't allowed to watch a lot of them.

[00:44:28] No, we weren't. I mean like I remember we got banned from watching Dexter's Laboratory.

[00:44:33] Which is in hindsight I laugh about because that was not even bad.

[00:44:38] It's funny looking back on but I remember that we weren't allowed to watch it anymore.

[00:44:43] I wonder if it had to do with the swearing episode.

[00:44:47] Probably.

[00:44:48] The swearing episode was pretty, pretty bad.

[00:44:50] It was another censored episode but like there is apparently uncensored versions of it.

[00:44:54] Oh God. Why did they do that?

[00:44:56] Because it's funny.

[00:44:59] Alright, I'm looking at another list and I'm like, these are not cartoons.

[00:45:02] Dragon Ball is not a cartoon. It's an anime. Get out of here.

[00:45:08] Blu's Clues is also not. Oh, I guess technically it is a little bit of a cartoon.

[00:45:11] It's a hybrid.

[00:45:14] I lied.

[00:45:16] Speaking of Blu's Clues, do you remember when Steve left?

[00:45:19] Yes.

[00:45:20] That was a sad day. Everyone was so sad.

[00:45:24] Oh yeah, he came back for the new reboot.

[00:45:29] Yeah.

[00:45:30] And he had to wear a hat the entire time because he's bald.

[00:45:35] That's why he left the show. He was going bald really fast.

[00:45:39] I'm looking up cartoons.

[00:45:43] There were cartoons in the 2000s but I can't remember any of them.

[00:45:49] Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, do you remember that one?

[00:45:53] That show went on way longer than I thought it would and it never really fell off.

[00:45:59] It was 87 episodes. 2004 to 2009.

[00:46:04] Yeah, it lasted longer than I thought.

[00:46:07] A lot of those shows felt really long but they were really short lived.

[00:46:12] That one did really well.

[00:46:15] The nature of the show helped it because there was so much you could do with it, especially in terms of random imaginary friends.

[00:46:24] They can kind of come up with a new character each episode.

[00:46:27] A new imaginary friend.

[00:46:29] Imagination.

[00:46:31] The imagination is everywhere.

[00:46:34] I guess that helped a lot, cater to making it successful.

[00:46:39] Cheese.

[00:46:42] That was a goofy episode.

[00:46:48] One of my favorite episodes is Mac has tickets to go to somewhere.

[00:46:54] I forget where they were actually going. I think it was a theme park or something.

[00:46:59] They spend the entire episode making sure everybody's ready.

[00:47:02] There's so many great jokes.

[00:47:04] There's points where they're like, alright, everybody use the bathroom before you left and it cuts to a crowd shot of them all holding it really bad.

[00:47:11] Then they repeat the joke again later.

[00:47:14] My favorite is the episode ends with the older lady that technically ran the Madame Foster.

[00:47:24] She hugs Mac really long for a while before he goes.

[00:47:28] Then it cuts to they get to the airport and he doesn't have the tickets.

[00:47:32] Then they get back and they're all pissed off.

[00:47:35] They're like, we're back, Grandma.

[00:47:37] Mac lost our tickets.

[00:47:39] Then they're like, Grandma.

[00:47:41] It cuts to her on the plane with all of the tickets.

[00:47:43] She fucking stole them.

[00:47:45] Oh my God.

[00:47:47] That was a great episode.

[00:47:49] I loved the shit like that.

[00:47:51] That was a creative show.

[00:47:53] My favorite episode is the one where they're trying to figure out the mystery of...

[00:47:57] They did the photos of all the friends on the stairwell and they were trying to figure out why there was one photo with nobody on the stairwell.

[00:48:05] It's a whole mystery.

[00:48:07] Then they discover there was a lever on the stairs that would drop the stairs out.

[00:48:12] That happened one year.

[00:48:14] Sorry, I'm dying.

[00:48:19] I'm dying.

[00:48:21] Speaking of Cartoon Network shows that were extremely creative, Codename Kids Next Door.

[00:48:26] Oh my God, yeah, I was going to mention that next.

[00:48:28] That was a good one.

[00:48:30] That one was so fun too because just imagine you and your friends in the neighborhood and you magically have this amazing tree house base.

[00:48:40] It was just a cool, fun show.

[00:48:42] You were like, I wish I had that in the village.

[00:48:45] That show had so much unnecessary lore.

[00:48:50] There was a lot of lore to it.

[00:48:53] I'm sure there's plenty of lore videos out there too.

[00:48:56] I still remember the big movie with Number Zero that answered so many questions.

[00:49:06] What's Number Zero? His dad?

[00:49:08] Yeah, Number Zero was his dad and the antagonists were all related and stuff.

[00:49:14] It was an interesting movie.

[00:49:17] What?

[00:49:19] Another Cartoon Network show that I remember this one distinctly because Mom hated it.

[00:49:24] Ed Edd and Eddie.

[00:49:26] Oh yeah, I will say Ed Edd and Eddie wasn't my favorite.

[00:49:30] It was more of one you like to watch but I would watch it if you were watching it.

[00:49:34] The thing about Ed Edd and Eddie is it's one of those shows that you kind of watch now and you get a lot more.

[00:49:41] Yeah.

[00:49:44] It's got some funny stuff in it.

[00:49:47] Definitely some funny jokes but it was never my cup of tea.

[00:49:50] The ending to the show is one of the biggest reveals ever because it was the big picture show.

[00:49:57] The whole gimmick of the episode was they finally meet Eddie's brother who's been this kind of mystery the entire series.

[00:50:05] You find out he's a massive piece of shit.

[00:50:08] He beats the shit out of Eddie.

[00:50:10] When you rewatch the show you realize from the beginning that Eddie's afraid of this guy.

[00:50:16] He's not a good person.

[00:50:18] There's so much foreshadowing to it.

[00:50:25] Do you remember the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy?

[00:50:28] I remember when it was a double show called Grim and Evil where half the show was Billy and Mandy and the other half was evil Conkar.

[00:50:39] Evil Conkar did not last nearly as long.

[00:50:43] They spun them off into two shows eventually.

[00:50:47] Billy and Mandy went on for years.

[00:50:50] I think Evil Conkar lasted a season.

[00:50:52] Evil Con-Kar-Nay I should say.

[00:50:54] I think that's what it's pronounced.

[00:50:56] I liked Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

[00:50:59] I don't know.

[00:51:00] I think the concept of the Grim Reaper being this pathetic loser is really funny that he's getting bullied by two children.

[00:51:07] It's just so funny.

[00:51:09] You're losing a game of Popscotch.

[00:51:11] Yeah.

[00:51:12] It's so silly how one of them is an idiot and the other one is this evil mastermind that's in this cutesy little girl body.

[00:51:20] So good.

[00:51:22] I really like that one.

[00:51:24] That was a fun show.

[00:51:26] It went on for way longer than I thought initially.

[00:51:30] I also remember there are so many Cartoon Network shows that I feel like just came and went that I don't remember.

[00:51:37] Do you remember Camp Lazlo?

[00:51:39] My Gym Partner is a Monkey.

[00:51:42] You used to watch all of these.

[00:51:45] No, I remember watching them, but they were so short-lived.

[00:51:49] Camp Lazlo, My Gym Partner is a Monkey.

[00:51:53] There was a couple more too.

[00:51:56] I don't know what that one is.

[00:51:58] Time Squad?

[00:52:00] I don't remember that.

[00:52:01] No recollection of that.

[00:52:02] There's so many here.

[00:52:04] I'm like, I don't remember any of these.

[00:52:07] Well, there was the Lanes and Climes of Juniper Lee.

[00:52:11] I remember that one, but that was only because you watched it.

[00:52:15] But you probably don't remember it.

[00:52:18] I don't remember it at all.

[00:52:20] The ones I remember which were almost like off-putting creepy show, like the Misadventures of Flapjack.

[00:52:27] Do you remember that one?

[00:52:29] I remember that in Chowder because that was like...

[00:52:32] I fucking love Chowder to this day.

[00:52:35] It is such a good show.

[00:52:37] It's so stupidly amazing.

[00:52:40] See, for me, I remember those two shows just because they were just such goofy.

[00:52:47] They've actually retroactively become more popular because during their day they weren't.

[00:52:53] I feel like too.

[00:52:55] You go back and watch how much effort they put into those shows.

[00:52:59] They did a lot.

[00:53:01] They added stop motion.

[00:53:03] Sometimes they had live...

[00:53:04] One of my favorite episodes is the restaurant is running out of money.

[00:53:08] At one point, the show is also running out of money so they don't have a budget for animation.

[00:53:14] It's just the voice actors in a studio recording.

[00:53:17] It's just live action, the voice actors.

[00:53:20] I freaking love that.

[00:53:22] It was so fun.

[00:53:23] I love Chowder.

[00:53:24] I don't remember as much about the Flapjack show.

[00:53:27] It always was a little creepy.

[00:53:29] Chowder was the replacement of the two.

[00:53:32] I remember Flapjack just because the pirate guy was voiced by Brian Doyle Murray.

[00:53:41] That voice is so iconic that you just can't forget it.

[00:53:50] We didn't talk about My Life as a Teenage Robot.

[00:53:54] I was planning on going back to Nickelodeon but I guess now we can.

[00:53:58] I swear that was a show that Nickelodeon hated.

[00:54:05] Did your screen just go weee?

[00:54:11] You turned into a robot for a minute.

[00:54:13] Mine went black and they went swish swish swish.

[00:54:17] It's alright.

[00:54:20] Before we get into My Life as a Teenage Robot, we should probably talk about Oh Yeah! Cartoons a little.

[00:54:26] Sure. What's that?

[00:54:30] Oh, you don't.

[00:54:31] Oh Yeah! Cartoons was the shorts collection where they had a bunch of pilots that they would play.

[00:54:38] It was kind of like they were just a testing ground for shows.

[00:54:43] A bunch of shows came out of Oh Yeah! Cartoons.

[00:54:45] My Life as a Teenage Robot, Fairly Odd Parents, we'll get to that one later, Troxon.

[00:54:51] They all came out of that thing.

[00:54:53] But there was a bunch of other one-off shows that went nowhere.

[00:54:58] My Life as a Teenage Robot.

[00:55:01] That show, I swear it was never on when you wanted to watch it.

[00:55:08] I feel like they purposely wanted it not to succeed.

[00:55:12] And it was a really good show, really fun.

[00:55:16] It had bad luck from the start because it infamously replaced Invader Zim in the time slot.

[00:55:25] Invader Zim fans still have...

[00:55:28] They're not happy.

[00:55:29] They held a grudge for a while despite it not being the show's fault.

[00:55:33] And we'll get to Invader Zim 2. That's another classic one.

[00:55:39] I feel like we might need a part two for this because we could probably go on for many hours and I'm getting sleepy.

[00:55:45] My Life as a Teenage Robot, though. I still remember the Christmas episode.

[00:55:51] Yeah, I remember the movies.

[00:55:54] Oh yeah, Return to Cluster Prime.

[00:55:57] That movie is a banger and it still is to this day. Oh my God, it's so good.

[00:56:04] Bring My Life as a Teenage Robot back. We don't need another version of Bailey Oddparents.

[00:56:10] We want My Life as a Teenage Robot.

[00:56:13] Then Chalk Zone was another classic.

[00:56:16] Chalk Zone! I completely forgot about Chalk Zone but oh my God, that one was also canceled way too soon.

[00:56:23] Stylistically, that is still one of my favorite Nickelodeon shows ever made.

[00:56:28] I agree. It was just again, just like The Imaginary Friends.

[00:56:33] There's so much you can do. So much imagination. So much roots.

[00:56:38] Oh, that was such a good one.

[00:56:41] And then of course the other oh yeah cartoon that we can't really...

[00:56:46] I guess we'll end this part off on this one, but Bailey Oddparents.

[00:56:52] I mean it looks like the beginning? Awesome. Great. Honestly, did they have a movie?

[00:57:01] They had a number of made-for-TV movies and a lot of them were good.

[00:57:07] There was Abra Catastrophe which was the one that was the wish muffin

[00:57:12] and it caused the whole world to go into craziness.

[00:57:16] There was Channel Chasers. Everyone remembers Channel Chasers.

[00:57:21] Oh yeah, that one was classic.

[00:57:25] There was also the fairy... Cosmo and Wanda quit and they have an American Idol competition to get their jobs back.

[00:57:37] There was so many. Honestly, Bailey Oddparents was really good and then they created Poof the Baby.

[00:57:45] And Cosmo was pregnant and that was very strange.

[00:57:49] That was about the point where I feel like it jumped the shark.

[00:57:52] Yeah, that was when it just was like... I remember that coming out and being like this is weird.

[00:57:57] This is a little strange.

[00:58:00] It only got weirder from there too because then they later added the dog.

[00:58:05] Oh yeah, the dog and then the other girl.

[00:58:08] There was the joke in the end that it was revealed that Timmy had changed time.

[00:58:15] Basically made it so the world would stop spinning aging so he could have his fairies forever and it had been like a hundred years or something.

[00:58:23] Do you remember that clip?

[00:58:25] Yes.

[00:58:26] I just was like...

[00:58:27] You ran out of ideas at the end.

[00:58:29] Oh yeah, that one they just were trying to make as much from possible and they were just burying it into the ground.

[00:58:37] Just making it unmemorable at that point.

[00:58:40] My biggest problem with Fairly Oddparents is that show went on for fucking ever.

[00:58:44] The only reason it got cancelled was because Butch Hartman kind of went crazy.

[00:58:48] Yeah.

[00:58:49] Did he ever come in with that religious streaming service?

[00:58:53] I don't think so. We're not going to get super into Butch Hartman just because it's bizarre.

[00:58:58] It made a lot of cartoons. I mean Danny Phantom was hot.

[00:59:01] That's what I was going to say. Danny Phantom was a better show and it did not nearly get as much love.

[00:59:06] No. Danny Phantom. I'm trying to remember because he had some other shows too.

[00:59:10] Cuff Puppy.

[00:59:11] Cuff Puppy. I wasn't a fan of that one. Couldn't get into it.

[00:59:15] I only remember that one because the guy from iCarly played the main character. Jerry Trainor.

[00:59:20] He played the main character.

[00:59:22] He was very high up in the Nickelodeon sphere at that time.

[00:59:26] What was another one down there? Danny Phantom was awesome.

[00:59:31] I mean that was just like cool story wise concept.

[00:59:34] It was also, it was nice to have one where it was like not a child.

[00:59:39] Not Will Kidd as the main character. It was nice to kind of have like a teenager.

[00:59:43] Like young adolescents. It was just nice.

[00:59:46] Something to relate to for the growing audiences.

[00:59:52] It was a strong, it was a really strong show.

[00:59:55] I didn't really like the way it ended. The final episode was really abrupt.

[00:59:59] Yeah. I agree.

[01:00:01] There's actually a fan, not a fancon, and officially like they made like a comic continuation of it that actually retcons the ending and changes everything.

[01:00:10] Good. As it should.

[01:00:14] Yeah. Now there was a ton of these shows. Well honestly.

[01:00:18] There was so much. And you know which one we really forgot to talk about?

[01:00:22] Which one? Angelina Anagonda.

[01:00:26] We didn't forget to talk about it. We just chose not to do this.

[01:00:30] What do you mean? It looks like such a great show. I mean a family got divorced over it, but hey.

[01:00:36] Yeah. For the fucking Digimon movie.

[01:00:40] I have that DVD. It's baked into that and you have to watch it every time.

[01:00:46] It is fucking. I'm like, oh my god. Yeah.

[01:00:51] Stylistically, I appreciate that show for being original.

[01:00:55] My god the show's terrible. Oh my god. We have to do a part two because I'm finding more shows as we go down the rabbit hole.
