Aaron: Welcome to SuperPod Network Q&A! To kick things off:
1) Tell us your name and what you do on the internet.
2) Where can people find your cool stuff? (social medias, podcasts, stream, YouTube, etc)
3) What are your top 3 favorite games?

Thrak: My name is Thrak, I co-host the 3DO Experience podcast which you can find on the SuperPod Network! My top 3 favorite games are: Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Half-Life 2 and Shining Force (1 & 2 because I can't decide which I prefer)

Will: Kill, Fuck, Marry: Waluigi, Master Hand, Nathan Drake.

Thrak: I would fuck Waluigi because you know he's chaotic and fun. Marry Nathan Drake because he makes good money and wouldn't bother you too much. If he dies, I inherit all his riches! Kill Master Hand because he's an abomination of science and technology.

Chris: If you could eat one video game item, what would it be?

Thrak: I would like to eat a Mushroom from Super Mario. I'm not a big fan of mushrooms, but I gotta know what that thing tastes like and if I grow too.

Nomad: Why did you start your podcast, blog, stream, YouTube, or whatever it is that you do?

Thrak: I was originally doing a podcast about King Crimson (Frame by Frame) and that kinda imploded due to personal reasons. I started hanging around video game discord channels and met Bill through that and he had the 3DO Experience but it was defunct due to not wanting to host it himself. I coaxed him into bringing it back and here we are! Blogging I do because Aaron forced me to when I signed the SuperPod Contract so I write about stuff sometimes.

RetroMo: What is one of the most emotional, shocking, or profound moments you've experienced in a video game?

Thrak: The one I immediately think of is the ending to Yakuza: Like a Dragon. That ending had my jaw to the floor and watery eyed. The ending of Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name also impacted me as well as the story to Firewatch. That one still hits to this day.

Jameson: If you could only keep one console from your collection and one game to go with it, what would it be and why?

Thrak: I would keep Tetris Effect for the Switch. The portable factor combined with the endlessly playable aspect of Tetris would keep me good, not to mention the music and visuals are fantastic as well.

Tommy: If you were forced to name your next child after a video game character, which video game character would you name your child after?

Thrak: If it was a boy, I'd probably name him Issac from Dead Space and if it was girl, I'd probably name her Vi from Bug Fables.

Jake: What is the very first video game you ever played, and how do you feel about it today?

Thrak: It was either Sonic 2 or Ulimate Mortal Kombat 3 for the Sega Genesis. Both games made incredible impacts on me as a child to where I am typing these answers for you guys! I still love both of them for all the good and bad they have.

Tony: What is something from gaming (past or present) that you wish would become a common feature?

Thrak: An interesting question. The only thing I can think of is if AA games still existed. Games that have a lower budget than AAA but more than indie games and even have licenses attached to them. In the 6th gen, that's how we got some pretty solid variety with less quantity.

Thrak: What is your guilty pleasure game?

Thrak: A great question sir! Easy answer would be Powerwash Simulator. I just can't put that game down. Every few months they release a new map or DLC and I always get it and clean everything. It's a drug.

Dave: What’s a game you disliked at first, but later on it clicked with you, and now you really enjoy it?

Thrak: Hmmmm, that's a tough question to think about for me. The most recent example I can think of is Inscryption. The inital section of that game I did not like because deckbuilding roguelikes are not for me and I was super close to just quitting the game. Friends advised me to stick with it and I was able to clear the first section and then the game really shined for me after that. I thank everyone who forced me to stick with it because it became one of my favorite games I played in 2024.

Anubis Hero: What is the one game you regret buying the most?

Thrak: Probably Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light for Switch. I remember when they shadow dropped that and I was curious to play it after liking Three Houses and it was a WiiU level VC port of the game. Didn't look good and I did not enjoy my time with it. Only 8 bucks sure, but I did not enjoy my time with it. Fire Emblem remains at an arms length for me.
