Pokemon Z-A Is Bad and Arc Raiders Is Good!

On the week leading up to this moment or tomorrow, I guess I could feel my body start aching again, you know, and like my anxiety peaking. I just don't want to go back to work. I used to say that before I had kids, and then Alma was the one who tired shamed me all the time. So I know how it feels. I can be tired if I want. Fuck you, let's stop the tired shaming. Oh god, I have to stop at like ten thirty. Yeah, all right, so that's about it. Let's go, let's get into a game. Time. We'll talk about some stuff we've been playing. Okay, yeah, sure, fine, sure, let's do it right now. Here we go. Oh we're in there. We're here, Ghost of Vite beaten yep to check check. I'm probably not gonna get into too much since we're gonna have our next episode about it. But I loved it spoilers. Fifty three hours I put it. I think I was around there too. It also ruined my wrists. It gave me some kind of syndrome. My sessions were too long. I guess you could. Ah, yes, you do play long sessions with the new controller. No, my with the regular controller. Yeah, the regular PS five controller is absolute dog shit. It's like heavy and it bent my wrist. It's the angle of the wrist right like this, and you're on the that doing this with your wrists like downward like that. Yeah, bad, bad, It's very stupid. I had to tape my wrist for two days with hockeytail. Now it's fine, but I had to tape it so it wouldn't move and like you know what I mean, older man gamer injuries. So for people haven't played the game, when you have to like shake your your. Controller, no, I'm just there for so long. I was just like holding the controller kind of angled down with that weird angle. It's an unnatural angle of the wrist. We're talking ergonomics. Ergonomics here, economics. But yeah, bad, but you do have to cook. When you're cooking, you have to. I skipped it every time. I didn't ever do that. Yeah, but you can like move the controls to do some things. Yeah, I never did it. Picky, what are you playing other. Than well, don't shame me, but I've restarted playing Final Fantasy eleven the private server. It's a new private server on Horizon again. Hush time, think, yeah, I don't know. It's fun, but yeah, it's like redoing the same things. So you're not continuing the character you had you started. No, it's a new server because everybody left the other private server Eden, so now it's everybody migrated to this new server, Horizon. So apparently I played last year and then I just picked up where I left off of But like, you know, the people are why you play, right, It's just that's the community. Yeah, so you know these people, like you say, the same people that were on. God, oh I would want to get close to those people me because they're hardcore dude, Like they spend twelve hours a day playing that game and they think they're big big shots because they have the relics or whatever. And like these people that play Final Fantasy eleven they're not normal people. Like on a present server, you do not want to get close to them. They're playing the game forty years after release, you do know. Really released two thousand and five. Not about like demos like let's say, and notory sponsor like FAFT near a big dragon with like the windows between three am and five am, like they call you up, like, hey, we got the claim for Fafnir. You got to come online and it's three am and you're the tank and you have to like log on because there's seventeen people depending on you. Yeah, yeah, it's it's nuts. I'll be playing a Rocket League a little bit on the side too. And I tried. I tried starting Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven, but then I couldn't get into it, so I kind of stopped, and then I started Last of Us Part one remastered. You had already played Cyberpunk though, No. Yeah, but I didn't play the expansion, and I wanted to, like, you know, there's a lot of updates and it's you know, it looks really good. And I got a new GPU. The fiftiest. Oh it looks so good. Yeah, there's so much time in a day, right, so yes, true, that's true. Gamings for the Winter, you know. Oh man, I'm ready. I played so much sopall in the summer. Like ready for the Winter, ready to nate. I wouldn't get home, but like after ten pm every night, I'm like, man, I'm so annoyed by that, like the winter, you're home all the time, and yeah, you know, there's. Something to start your softball. It seems like you're always seems like you're always in a tournament. And then in the winter time we played the domes of soccer domes. Yeah, softball, guys is fun. The peak age is forty, so it's very accessible. Johno played softball. I played with them. We played together. I played once. Yeah, true, we did. Now it was my only, my only season that I ever played Major to the finals, and I'll never play again. Someone stole my glove. Also, I don't know where it is. I think one of the guys as my glove. It's a nice glove too, not even broken in probably still that was like fucking six years ago, probably still fresh leather. Mizuno. That was good and that's my company for sure. Mm hmmm. Anyway, that's all even playing huh until this weekend, of course, Yeah, I was playing some games. I think the Thana was playing two. Oh, maybe we shouldn't, Maybe we shouldn't discuss this. What the leak, the the leaked game. We're not We're not playing the leaked game. That's true, it's released now. We are playing it released. Mm hmm. I've played about eight hours of Pokemon z A so have. I, and I've got some stuff to say. I'm gonna start off this with this one. Listen to this. So Samuel, our thirteen year old nephew, texts me he bought it and really He's like, is it just me? Or is this game really bad? That's what he texted me. I was like, like, it's not just you. I wouldn't say it's I wouldn't say it's bad, but it wouldn't say it's good. It's like so no, I mean it's not good. It's not it's okay, it's yeah. I mean if you're a Pokemon fan, you'll play it and you'll be like, okay. Yeah. Like if you're looking at as a game, like at objectively, I would say maybe nothing is objective when it comes to game. It's all special objective. But like, I mean, it runs better than Scarlett Violet will give it that not a high bar to beat obviously, yeah, but just walking around a city, like you're just. Walking around the dam city. Yeah. And the tutorial, the intro was so fucking long and there's so much dialogue, Like I was falling asleep. I was like, this is fucking brutal, Like I already know all of this shit. I've done it, I've done it for I've done it for twenty five fucking years. I've played this game. You don't need to tell me about Pokemon evolutions. You don't need to tell me. About tms and how to fucking use them, Like, can we please skip this shit? This stuff has been out for fucking thirty years. We don't need to know this. If you it should be a thing at the very beginning. Language select, yes you, language select are you new? No? Thank you? Thank you saved me three hours of my life. Please, Like they need to do this, like they have to. It's so stupid. A lot of things. Yeah, like this game I found, like the eight hours I'm playing, there's no sense of adventure, you know, no, not at all, zero sense of adventure in every Pokemon game I've ever played, back to Blue, you know, through the years. It's an adventure, That's exactly. That's the thing. What it is. Pokemon is supposed to be an adventure. You go to the into the wilderness, into. The wild, yeah, the wild. Yeah, you set out from your hometown, you adventure through caves and brush and rivers and lakes and oceans, and you meet trainers you fight them. Yeah yeah, yeah, like an adventure. This game there's absolutely no adventure. There's no sense of adventure. You're stuck in this city. You don't go outside the city. You just roam around its streets and it's shitty alleyways like this cardboard box city. Yeah. Like then the card the city is it's so flat, it's so flat, and the graphics are just bad. Yeah, and just like everything looks like a paper it's made of paper. Yeah, there's no like. There's no three D there's no modeling to the building because it's just flat. And it's like a picture, a picture of like a window and some flowers. It's just a flat picture. So it's bad. It's running around this ugly, ugly cardboard city and they're like, oh, you can go on the rooftops. I'm like, okay, let me climb these ladders up to the rooftops and then like catch a piggy. You know what I mean? You know what else is stupid, you know this is very stupid. Is like you don't even go looking for Pokemon. They just they tell you where to go to catch the pokemon, and you can only catch these pokemon in these designated to catch areas. It completely takes the adventure out of It's like the it's like the corporate the corporate man's pokemon, you know. It's just like yeah, it's just like there. And they didn't make the city. Like I was like, okay. I was like, okay, what if you know Final Fantasy had like different sectors and they're in Midgard, and what's the main city Midgard? Mid And like I was like, oh, maybe they split it up into different sectors and each sector is like a new story bit or a new storyline that you'd get to do different things. No, it's just one big stupid same environments through the city. And then to progress the like there's no gyms. Yeah, you don't have to pokemon gyms anymore. You don't win your badges. It's just you have to there's this weird ranking system and you have to rank it up only at night in a certain area. Like what the hell is this? So you gotta wait till nighttime, yeah to fucking go do this, or you gotta go sit on a bench and like wait till night We just wait, Yeah, but you. Can't just battle people. You've got to wait to night to battle people. Yeah, you can't help people, and you have. To battle people in certain designated battle areas. Yeah, and then you gotta get your stupid tickets and then you can go fight your your promotion like your letter promotion, so you have to go from Z to A and you promote your training level that way. Yeah. And when I first saw I'm like that I have to do this six levels? No, Like, what the hell is this? But I'm w I guarantee you they skip, they let you skip or something. There's something in the story. I don't think it gives you ahead. I think. So we're like. Eight hours in and it's the same ship. So I was like, hopefully if we go to the next sector, it's like a like a cyberpunk sector, you know, like Sector no City, the one I'm wishing. I'm wishing back to my sector's ideas. Right sections, you go into the next section and it's like a completely different city scape, you know, like a cyberpunk city scape, and you have to hack. You have to stop the hackers from hacking the Pokemon out of the central database system or whatever. You know, maybe a floating city. Yeah, or like the next sector after that, it's like all pitch black and the powers out and you have to go help boot on the power of this sector of the city. Like flash if you lose flash ship like that, Like h what are they called hms? There's tms and eight gims. Yeah, there's How are you going to use fly in this? I guess wh is just fly is just non existent anymore? Doesn't work? Okay, it is a bad game. It's a bad game. Yeah, it's a bad game. It's a bad game. I just have Pam's playing it right now. She's listening to me right now. Probably does she does? She like it? Yeah, she likes pokes. She'll like it because hates it. She'll like it because it's Pokemon. Yeah. But and then I go read all these reviews and everyone's just over the moon it's the best Pokemon of the switch. Well, I'm like, man, what of these people want them smoking? I don't get it. They must have been paid off. Yeah, I don't see. I don't see how this game gets at nine out of ten. I'd have no idea how this game gets. I think it's maybe like eighty. I think it's covering at eighty or something or seventy nine ish, but open critic medic crikets, I think it's. At seventy nine now or some or eighty eighty two somewhere around there, do you, But it's not even close, like. It's at seventy nine on Metacritic. Yeah, i'd like to see go down to like a seventy. Maybe like a sixty nine. I'd say, yeah, seventy, though I don't know. I'm gonna play it for a few more hours to see if anything catches, and. If not, I don't think I am I gonna play other shit. Yeah, but I like to play it on my I mean on my switch. On your switch to that you have my switch to that I have. Yes, Well, I Pam did buy it, so I do own it. But anyway, so it's okay for me to emulate it. Oh, I own it physically. I bought it, so I can do whatever that's true in Canada. Yes, there you go. I was playing Haities some more. Oh nice. Well, I have about like thirteen hours and I think I think I've made about thirty runs okay, and I think I was playing it wrong, okay, like I was playing this one. No, but I have some friends that did and you loved it. And then I saw the Hades choose out there. But yeah, it's on my backlog, which is, you know, five hundred games long. Well, I think I was playing it wrong because like it's not clear when you start out. It's just something I think you had to catch on to and learn. I found when I was looking something else up. I found out that you are only offered, I guess, a certain amount of gods throughout a run, Like they'll only give you like four, I think, four different gods to choose from out of any given run. So you're not going to get more than that, So you can kind of avoid some if you don't want that god, Like you know, you don't need anything or want any of the muffs from them or whatever, you can like kind of not choose those and see if it gives you something else, something better for your build. I had no fucking idea. I had no idea about any of that until like ten hours in, so it kind of helped me a little bit better. But it's pretty broad you can do, you can do well with a lot of the different stuff. It's pretty well balanced. I think the weapons I feel like just the sword is just the best weapon. Like the basic one. Yeah, yeah, like it just does the most damage. Is like the second the second weapon you get is my favorite. Yeah, like six or seven weapons. Okay, I was using like the gloves. There's like these myths. They don't do a lot of damage, but they attacked like really fast. But I just think I would rather have the sword with just a ton of damage. But like I was struggling, I could kept getting to like the double Boss. There's a boss that you have to fight two fucking guys. It's before like the end, and I've only beaten it once. I got to Hades, so I got to the last I assume he's the last boss, and I fought him and I didn't beat him. And after that, I'm just like I don't want to do that again. I'm just I think I'm just not gonna play again. So I just don't care. I don't care. I'm not doing all that over again. Like it took me so long to beat those two fuckers, I'm just not gonna do it again. But that's it. Yeah, Yeah, that's it. I had not been eighties to it yet. I need I keep getting to the last boss. I can't beat them, it's too fucking hard. And then how long does it take to get there? Like an hour? Yeah, like fuck that? Yeah, what the fuck? Man? Well, maybe not anymore, Maybe not an hour because I've unlocked a bunch of shit. Maybe maybe half an hour. Yeah, it takes like a half hour to get for Hades. Like when I when I first started getting to the boss, it was like forty five fifty minutes and then I die. I was like, fuck, yeah, that's I don't like that. I don't like I don't like it. Like I was hoping that they they'd give you some sort of unlock where you can skip some biomes or something that would be nice, like just fucking skip it, but no, you gotta go through it every time. You got to go through each biome. Like yeah, and you don't really get that much to improve yourself, like permanently, you know what I mean, you don't really In. The second one and the second one, you can wear these like medallions that buff the god's powers. If that god's powers show up, it's like okay on yeah, like a chance to buff a specific god's power. So if I'm looking for freeze, then I'll wear the the God's Power, the God's amulet that gives freeze powers, and it'll show up. And if it does show up, it's like rarity's higher chance of rarity. And I also didn't know for different weapons you get different gods sometimes, like there's one I just randomly I started using the sword again and then something that came up that I've never seen. I was like, oh, this is just for this sword, Like one of the buffs is just you only can get it for this one sword, one weapon. It's like, oh, I didn't know that existed, and it's it's what allowed me to get the furthest that I've ever had was just the sword. It's like your health is lowered, is reduced, but every hit heals you for two. So like I just stay full health the whole time, nice and you just get some health increase buffs and it's way easier. It makes it so much easier because healing is the hardest part of the fucking running. Half the time you get hit by stupid shit, the fucking lava. It's okay, and now I need to heal or else I'm just gonna have to start over. But like with that, it literally, you just get keep topped up. You only have like we have less health, so we can potentially, I guess, get one shot, but not really. Nothing's really one shotting you. But you just heal yourself up boom every time you hit. So that was the easiest by far playthrough is when I have that. Yeah, but anyway, I don't think I'm gonna play it again. Maybe I know a snake Factory was upset that I didn't like it, taking out on this Chris. I don't care. I'm not playing it. I don't care. You have six hundred hours in it. That's a you problem. It's got a ninety four on Metacurtic like it might be. Not I it's a good game. Game of the year. I thought it's a good game Hades one. Yeah, maybe I like this. I like the story too. I love the theology. It's funny because it builds into it plays into the type of game. It is like when you die, you start over because you're you're you're an immortal. Yeah, you're an immortal, and you you get killed and you just regenerate back and it's like, I gotta try again. I'm trying to escape hell. You know what, I mean, so it does play into the type of game that it is, which is cool. It's a good game. I just I just it's not my it's my thing. Yeah, I just don't want. To do it. Ye yep, yep, yep, speaking of not your thing. Like the older I get the less, like the less I play like first person shooters or like the competitive games. Man, it's just like I can't be bothered. I just just give me like Civilization six, or give me a game I can dual screen and watch a movie at the same time or something like that. Like just like the like the single pair experience a lot more because it's just less toxic and less stressful. Just find like cod and war Zone and Battlefield is just so stressful. You're like, I don't mind that. Yeah, I would rather do that. I would rather do that versus people than fucking AI. Man. I don't want to do this against AI like souls like games and bullshit Like, No, I want to do it against souls, real people. Great. I don't want to get cheated by AI. Who know what I'm gonna press, know what I'm pressing every fucking time, Just rigged. I want to fight against people. No, you're still you're still pretty good, man, which is impressive because you know you're getting up there, but like, h you're pretty good. Bodies falling apart and shooters. Man, it's impressive, thank you. But I've played for thousands of hours. That's why. Just practice, I guess. But yeah, yeah, killing those little young whipper snappers. Oh that Yeah. I wish everyone had a If we could, you could see just how how old they are after, I'd be like, more practice, kids, that's a more practicing. It's like, god, what are you doing on here? I don't know. I like my Ghost of Yots. I like my Yeah, sure, that's it called uh Best Stranding Two's like I love that ship of course Kingdom Come Deliverance too. Of course I don't. I'm in the same boat as you. I don't really enjoy battling people because like then, I'll I want to be good, but I can't. I don't have the time and I don't want to spend a thousand hours to get good at the game, so I'm not gonna do it. So what's the that's that's yeah, that's like a hard it's a hard thing, maybe even I guess for the developers, to think about. It's like you want to you want to cater to kind of all the more general player base, which is what you just said, right, it's the casual player who doesn't have a lot of time to play. But they they don't do that really because doing that would like lower the skill ceiling up. Yeah, but then the game sucks, like when they do that, honestly, it sucks. Yeah, there's no like you're not because. When you are good and you feel like you should be winning, you feel like, oh, yes, I should have won that because this happened and this happened. But see, I think that also balances out when you're playing team games, like in Battlefield six, let's say when you're in a squad of like four or five people, Like, I think it balances that casual to like I don't actually say pro, but like advanced player skill because you're if you work as a group, you can overcome quite a bit of the uh yeah, the things you know instead of like one v one fucking team deathmatches and shit like that. Yeah, I mean when we when we played Modern Warfare three or two. Remember remember those days, like streaming was not a big thing, Like twitch was not didn't exist. So we live in a world where gaming was not a job, and now we live in a world where gaming is a job and successful one too. So you got all these try hards that are streaming or you know, and they're super good, and games. Like It's More bigger, especially popular. And uh Tarkov raizone and now with Arc Raiders, man, you've got you've got to be competing with these these streamers that you know, no life, these games, and it's going to be so hard to enjoy yourself because you're always going to get owned by these guys that are so good. Well, ideally that's a small percentage of the population, no, for sure, for sure. So if there's no skill Bay based Mac making, you shouldn't run into those players very often if they're you know, because it's random. Matchmaking should be random outside of a ranked so you shouldn't see those people. You should just maybe once in a while. Yeah, but I want to know how many people are actually in like lobbies, Like I don't know how many people are in our creators run, you know what I mean? Do we know this that we'll talk about? Did you look this up? All? Right? We can find we can probably find it out. We can, we can go into it if you want any news. Do we have news? No? I don't have any news. I don't think. Do you want to talk Battlefield six numbers? Oh yeah, Battlefield six. Yeah. Everyone's loving it. Everyone's loving it. Six point five million copies sold across PC and console platforms. I wonder why, like why this game it's completely different than like twenty twenty five or twenty forty five was. It's completely different than twenty Battlefield twenty forty two, different than Battlefield five, Like it's this is the best selling one since Battlefield won. I didn't really find it that different, but I only played the bit. I haven't played the full. Yeah, there's smaller. Yeah, that was smaller. The maps we played were very very small. Yeah. The game's platform breakdown based on their estimates, it's fifty six point seven percent of sales via PC, damn yeah, twenty three point seven percent via PlayStation, and about twenty percent via Xbox. The retention player retention so far since release is really good, better than most shooters that have been released recently. So it's kind of got that line, you know, It's just it's got that line. It's gonna it's keep it's keep going here, it's gonna keep going. It's plateauing, it's got a floor. Uh, it was that Concurrent most Concurrent players was seven hundred and ninety thousand or something like that. Was that the peak Concurrent players. That's pretty good. It's not the hundred it's not the hundred million that was that was on Steam alone though, yes, but at least a million. They didn't sell a hundred million copies though, that's what they sell that. They said that, like, yeah, we're i mean for a hundred million players. Yeah, yeah, hello, there's no shot. But yeah, that's good numbers for a non cod game. You know, like when was the last non cod shooter to get that high concurrent? Pub g Fortnite? Yeah, yes, Oldest Ship. Yeah right, Yeah, it's good to see. I'll probably get it when it's on sale. Less all time peak. All time peak was one point eight years ago, two hundred and forty thousand players. Wow. Yeah, not a whole lot. People are a whole lot. So let's give a little little snip of what arc Raders is, okay. Arc Raders takes place in the distant future on Earth, where mysterious and deadly ARC robots have taken over the surface, forcing humanity to live underground. Some residents of the underground city, known as Raiders choose to go above ground also known as the Top Side, to collect resources to sell. Yes. Arc Raiders is an extraction shooter played from third person view. Players leave the underground base and search for items on the planet's surface for thirty minutes. During the raid, they will encounter hostile NPC robots along with other human players. When a player is killed, they will lose any equipment and materials they have collected and returned to base. Players can escape via evacuation slash, extraction elevators, and metro stations. I haven't seen many metro stations yet. Maybe on the other maps. Oh, yes, we didn't get all those maps in the beta. So I wonder, Yeah, I wonder in like a month from now after it's maybe some of the not a month I guess a week next Tuesday or next th next Thursday comes out, so a weekend, five days? I think they're just testing the servers. I think the game has done. They're not going to add. There's a few features I want in there. I think the general consensus is maybe like that it's a very good game, but maybe not a lot of people are like knowing about it. But a lot of big streamers are playing it though, so there's not a big marketing push on. I haven't done anything for this game, no, but like you have, the biggest streamers are playing the shooter streamers anyway, I don't know. But they get paid to play the latest release and then they get drops and then after after they play their like exit. For this there's no drawers still. They won't stream it again, No, I guess not. But like there was a game Dungeon Born, every streamer was. Playing it and then after you know, though, you know what those games that everyone's getting paid to fucking play them, you know, because like literally everyone's playing. It's like, oh, they're just paying Yeah, they're just paying them to play. But I don't know about this one, but I think it's like it's fucking sweet. It's a sweet game. Okay, I think it performs very well, Yes, but I don't think it looks very good. Apparently it looks worse than the last tech test, is what I was reading. But I didn't play the last tech test, so I don't know that. But it looks decent, it looks pretty good. It looks serviceable. But I think they knew that because they want the performance over graphics. Obviously, because it's this, it's going to be a more of a headitive thing. Right, Like I didn't fall anywhere under sixty fps. I maxed out, maxed out graphics at two k ultra wide, you know, even with right tracing, I didn't fall under seventy eighty b get like something. So like it's where the performance is really good and it wasn't like all over the place, it wasn't. And it's Unreal Engine five by the way. Yes, yes, though I did notice it's pretty sharp, just like the other Unreal Engine games. I didn't notice that. I want to fucking murder somebody, man. Like last night, did you find this is over sharpened? Like? No, it is over sharpened. I didn't. I don't really notice that. No, man, I know it's not bushes. It drives me crazy. The bushes in the trees overly sharp fucking drives me nuts, and I'm like playing with all these settings to try to like blur it a bit. But it's not like that on PS five. Oh really. Maybe it's because it's an AMD thing, an MD on PC thing. I don't know. Well. PS five is MD, I know, but fucking Expedition thirty three was the same, goddamn. It the same shit too. Yeah, I don't know. I'm thinking it's because it's the four K, because on PS five it'll upscale to the four K. Because on a four K TV I'm playing on, it looks really good. On PS five looks really good. Yeah, it look pretty good. On PS five I played for a little bit. I just can't play on controller. But like I have, was max graphics everything, no upscaling, and there's still some weird sharpening shit, and it doesn't look great. So what I did was I put on TSR upscaling, but then I brought it down to ninety percent of the upscale resolution. You know how you can do this slider And what it does is it brings it down and then upscales it right. So it puts this like a little bit of vacoline and it blurred. What was pissing me off. So that's how I'm playing it right now. Really shout out to Vassiline. Yeah, our petroleum of. The other lords, it's cheap and it works. Okay, Peeky, you were saying you wanted to You were saying in their group chat that you wanted to alter your settings a little bits. Of the So I YouTube like up to my settings and this guy had this video and all you did was turn off motion blur and everything else was default. But instead of epic, he turned everything down to high. So I did that, shadows to medium and everything to high, a couple of things that medium, like post processing medium, and then I launched a game and it looks exactly the same then when everything was at EPIC. So I'm not sure there's that there's a lot of room between the floor and the ceiling of graphical settings. I think it's pretty flat streamlined just for the tech test, but I think once the game fully releases, the drivers are going to be released for it, we'll see a bigger difference. But I do find the colors are washed out. But I will say that lowering the from everything to epic to lowering to high and medium, the game looked better, So I don't know because the FPS was more stable. I didn't I did cap my FPS at one, which is my monitor. But I will say that the game felt better when I kind of tweaked those settings. So hmm, I'm not sure. I didn't actually play with it a lot. Yeah I played maybe, okay lot, I'll play with it a bit more, but yeah, I didn't actually do that. But and like just the performance hit from like the and video global illumination fucking fucking slider. Like even if even if you put that the static and then to EPIC or whatever it is, the performance h's name that maybe ten fps not even so like the rate tracing isn't that crazy in it. If there is any just illumination. It's global illumination, so it wouldn't be like reflections and stuff like that. Yeah, So the only thing that really bothered me was the bushes and the trees. They just looked like shit. And the tumbleweed. I think it's people all the time, like there weed, but there's. A lot of stuff flying around if you look, just look, there's like little papers that will fly by or like the tumbleweeds or little as people. There's little droplets of water on the camera that you've kind of seen. You're like, oh, what's that. Oh, and then it goes away, like yeah, it'll like evaporate away. Yeah, little droplets. It's weird. That means there's a camera man following you, Yeah, following every raider. It's pretty cool. But I like the ambiance though. It's such a good it's such a good environment. Like the sounds. The there's a lot of wind, a lot of wind noise. I mean the sound. Let's talk about the sound. There's a lot of sounds before we talking about the sound. So Nana and I played Gray Zone Warfare. It's it's still an alpha or whatever or BET or alpha, and tweaking those settings makes a huge difference, huge difference. And that is an un Rail Engine five game as well. Yeah, and then Arc Raiders. I don't know because the map is much smaller. The set like global illumination for example, from high to medium, huge difference in Grayson, but in. This game shadows. Yeah you don't you don't feel it? Yeah, yeah, something something's fishy kind of Yeah. I noticed too. I was like, I think I just knows what they're doing. I was like this game should look better, but like I'm not as long as my FPS is a butt, Like I want the sweet spot for these for me is like ninety if I can get one hundred and forty five and it. Look like online it's an online game. One twenty plus man one twenty plus. Yeah, like we're gonna have a little test to see if we actually know it's ninety to one hundred and twenty pis. I don't. I would like to you and I could only see twenty four. Imagine everything's like skippy and fucking choppy. Yeah, I don't know. It's like it's serviceable. Oh, let's talk about how it wasn't on Steam down for like forty five minutes after the launch, so I think that was part of their like test rollout. But like, yeah, well they have to do one at a time. Well, no, I think they put it. They tell all the storefronts, okay, it's ready, and then they do that, right, but I think they stagger it so like X amount of people will connect first, right. It's like a queuing system, but it's not allow election. It's called the collection. Yeah, you're not allowing everyone to connect at the exact time at the exact same time, right, So it's the per platform. You can connect thirty minutes after this platform and you connect thirty minutes. Yeah, and I had, but everyone was probably just going to fucking epic anyth. Yeah, like we did. We're like, okay, thirty minutes and Steam still doesn't have it. I'm like, okay, I guess we'll download on an Epic Games Star. There's a different package altogether. Like I was, I kept looking at my pre ordered Our Creators page and nothing was happening. You have to go look for the. Service to type it slam. Yeah. Oh is that why? Yeah? Now I do have an issue with that though, because the directionality is actually not very good in the game, which is weird. It's kind of broken. Yeah, It's like Peeky was walking around behind me and I hear him like he's ten feet in front of me. I'm like, what the fuck is going on, dude, Like what am I hearing right now? And I look I look around and it was just him walking by me, behind me, but it sounded like someone was in the bushes, like ahead of me. I'm like, man, that bad. That cannot happen. And like when we're inside, we were inside stomping around, just sounds like it's everywhere. You can't hear where it's coming from. Is it below you? Is it above you? A couple of. Times, there was a couple of times when we knew that there was a guy above us on the floor above us. It's vaguely kind of there, but like it's needs work. I was doing. I was doing a solo mission and I went into the water depot or whatever the hell it was, and there was like a team on this on the roof talking and I was underneath them and it sounded so good, like they're they're talking like they're whispering, but they're using the the they were whispering. Yeah, and the proximity yet but it's still too loud. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and it's like she's hilarious. But like the way it reverbed down like the hallway and into my ears, it sounded like a movie like it was. Yeah, the effects and ship are really cool, Yeah, really really cool. Like it has a good processing and effects are good, but the directionality definitely needs work. Also, the big machines that stomp around, they always sound so close to you when they're maybe not you know what I mean. I noticed that, Like I'm like, well, there's something like really close, like it's stomping around, and then it's like, oh, it's like two hundred meters away. Oh, never mind, remember like tweaking. Sorry, we were in that building and like, oh my god, there's a squad upstairs in this metal building. It's like a squad upstairs, constant noise. I'm like, okay, and maybe that's not people as something else. Yeah, they're running up there. Yeah it's a stupid ball robe, but I think it was just going every where. Another thing. We haven't played that much, so there's so much that we have to find out and discover, and yeah, that plays a part of like the confusing the confusion. Yeah, like there's so many other How how much we've played? Oops, I just launched it. Maybe I probably played six seven hours probably. Yeah around there, like eight eight or nine. I played someone on Steam, and I played on on Epic and PlayStation. Uh, twelve I played. I played six hours on Steam alone. Really mine is twelve hours on Epic. So yeah, I played a bunch of it over the last two days. Like, but man, what's the last game that you played that long in that short period of time? Likes eleven. It's like it's been pretty engaging, Like it's a good it's a good game, and I'm pretty excited to see the next step of like the upgrades, Like what do we what where does this go when we spec into you know, the skill treed one way or the other. Also, I want to be able to kill those fucking leapers and the big robots, So let's get into. Gameplay now. So it gets like we're talking about the sound and all that kind of stuff, it gets tense and it gets frantic, especially when you're running from flying fucking robots that won't leave you alone. Oh man, and then you run into another team then they start shooting you, and the robots are shooting you and then you're just trying to find a way to get the fuck out of that. Yeah, so you got to reset. You just gotta do that. No, I think we just got to carry some decoy grenades for those stupid robots. Yeah, I just unlocked that. By the way, you just have to be slower. It's just a slower kind of it's not the same as you know, Call of Duty. It's not the same as with robots. Yeah, so you play slow in Daisy, You sneak around. You make sure that you're not in the middle of nowhere, like in the middle of a field. Like always always be expecting something and keep in your mind what you need to do if something happens, Like if you're engaged and you're walking through a field, where are you going? Like what's your first you know, like where's your cover? Because there's parts where you have to go across like a river or whatever. You're wide open, like where you're going after But I have this mindset always from playing Apex, from playing war Zone. But like you have to do that. Also, the guns are really slow, Oh my god. So when you're engaging, you don't want to be engaging like point blank if you can help it. Like they are so slow. They're very slow, So you have to be kind of behind cover. You want to be. You don't want to be in the open. That's the main thing obviously. But yeah, they're really slow. Now we are at the. Beginning of the game. We have no no upgrades, no. And you couldn't upgrade your benches in the beta, so we couldn't really get the good guns. Yeah, so best one was green and the green guns was. The green pistol was really good. There's no blue blue weapons right now. I got some blue Perris. I had a blue sniper. I had a blue sniper rifle, the Osprey. It was really good and I used it too much and it broke. It just broke, and I couldn't they break? Yeah, yeah, the durability, yeah, mechanical components. Yeah, it's just like building a new one. It's like half the mats that building a new. One or something like that. Oh okay, I see, but I didn't have the mats. I was like, oh, but like walking walking through like a forested area, let's say there's the swamp, and like having those robots flying and searching for you above the canopy of the trees. Very fucking cool. It reminds me of like Terminator mm hmm. It's got very Terminator esque like feel to it, like you're the Resistance Terminator. Resistance played it, beat it on Steam. Now. I would really like to see a Terminator crossover in here somehow, like or skins where we can change the skins of the overhead robots to the ones in the Terminator movie. Fucking sweet. It would be also be really cool if they threw down some T eight hundred's you know, the music or the model, yeah, or the model the one on one dun dun dun. Oh man, that would be so sick. I don't know how many times I've been back to I come out of my little bunker to start the game, and they just forced me back into the fucking bunker. I can't get out. It's happened multiple times. Yeah, and then I run out of a m I'm like. Okay, Well, it depends where you spawn, because there's a lot of different spawn areas. They're close to the to the high value loot or the higher value loot areas, so like, oh, we're right here already, We're right into it. I like that. I kind of like that, but if you don't have a good load out, like if you have a free load out your toast because the three guns do not show any damage to robot yea, they do nothing, Yeah, absolutely, so you always have to have a heavy app heavy. So how many I think there's like a handful of robot types right now. There's like three flying ones, the hornet Wasp. And Hornet Wasp snitch, the rocketeer. Rocketeer, yeah, big rocket rockets at you, very going, Yeah, I think that's it. And then there's a leaper, and then there's the bastion. Yeah, then the Queen and then the queens and the queen ticks. Yeah, there's a little. Roller, the head huggers, the head huggers. Yes, the spiders, Yeah, there's a there's a variety of different ones. I don't know if it's specific to this map either. Yeah, we don't know yet. So i'd like to see different robots per biome very cool. I'd like to see a snow biome. I'm hoping if there's one there where you freeze your ass off. You have to, you have to become warm, yeah, Canadian of you. Yeah, But so far, like it feels the ambiance, the atmosphere is very very good. I like it very. Much a lot. I like it to just be able to to explore. I don't know what more we can maybe find. We obviously haven't found everything, Like there's got to be cooler things that we've found, Like like I haven't been to the top of that towering damn yet, Like to the very top. I'm pretty sure you can get up there, like a huge lung zip line or something. Imagine. I think later in the game, like gold, Like say, the best weapon is like gold. When people have gold snipers, they're just going to be sniping each other from across the map. That's all it's going to be happening. When their team is like running down on the floor, you cover them a sniper and perch and just fucking snipe everybody. But yeah, but the gold isn't to get kills. Like sniping someone across the map is not like you want to get their loots. So if they're across, do you care? No, Like the two other guys are running around while. You, Oh wow, I think that's what But then they can't you can't rest them if they're they get knocked. So it's not an idea. I don't think that would be the viable situation. I mean, you can grief people, they'll be griefers, yeah. Of course. But yeah, the guns don't have scopes. They have like pre made zoom levels. So like when you zoom with the uh the Pharaoh, it's zooms more like the rifles zooms more than you have the some machine gun. You don't have that much of a zoom, just like a basic radical kind of and also the radical. The radical is like counterstrike where it kind of opens up counter Strike and Valorant where it opens up while you're moving and closes and becomes tighter. As you. As you crouch, as you stop walk. That's when it's more accurate, which I'm not used to at all. Like all the shooters that I'm playing, I'm strafing jumping while I'm shooting, which completely different. Johnny last night, he slid down the hill and then he turned and he just shot this guy man. Oh yeah, yeah, that's right, that man. The clips that you have is really good. And I think headshots. Work, yes, there's I think there's I think there's attachments that do increase his headshot damage, or there's certain guns that do, like Multiplier I don't know exactly how much extra damage headshot is. But that's one thing I wouldn't mind seeing, like turn it on or off. If you don't want it, turn it off, but give me like damage numbers or something like make does that make sense? Like with them, that would be cool. I can see why it's like not there. It's see why it's not there, Like it's kind of it's more immersive obviously, like you can't tell you have to know what to look for when you're shooting the guy because there's no hit markers, you know what I mean, Like you have you have a little bit of maybe like red mists you see or sparks if they have a shield on you see like sparks. But there's no hit marker icon on your crossair. There's no damage numbers. Don't really know, and I would love have damage numbers. I would just love an indicator of some sort. Because I was I've spawned into the game, and I was just I was at like the camp in the little Rocky area. I was like, Okay, no one's gonna walk through here. So I was checking my graphic settings and I'm just standing there and then I could hear someone creeping up on me, like buy me when I was in my menu, really, so I get out of the menu in the starting area, yeah, in the starting the starting area. It wasn't in a bunker. It was out in the world in like this little rock formation. And I hear him and then I just turn around quickly. I start shooting him, and then he's shooting me. But I don't know who's winning this battle, right right, So I've run behind. I think it was a camper, like like one of those missile looking campers, like the classic silver ones, and I peak them and I shoot them, and I I didn't know I downed him, but I downed him after that, and I take a grenade. I was like, fuck him, and I go to chuck the grenade. It bounces off the camper, hits me in the face and blows me so that I crawled out to see if he's still around and his body's dead there. I was like, no, I didn't need to throw that car. So then I died beside him. I gave up beside him. So stupid. The frantic they're frantic like we were. I mean, some people would argue against that, though, like having the numbers and yeah, you know, it's just more well. That's what That's what made that encounter pretty funny though, because I didn't know if I killed him or not. Right, you bring an interesting point, like what what audiences arc greador's for? Like I believe Arc Raiders feels a lot like Hell Divers because it's third person. First of all, it's like Hell Divers, but more condensed. The scope is a lot smaller like Hell Divers. The map is so big, but like then Arc Raiders, the map is a lot smaller, but it feels it plays a lot like it's like Hell Divers. It's got elements of you know, extraction shooters, it got elements of like dark and darker and uh, you know Tarkov, but it's a lot less, a lot more forgiving. So this game is kind of like the casual version of Tarkov, for example, where you do extraction, you do looting and stuff and PvP ve So it's I think it's going to be more accessible for a lot of people, and that's what it's going to be popular. But I think it's going to take a player base away from Hell Divers, away from Tarkov, maybe maybe other first person shooters maybe like Fortnite and stuff. But it's going to be interesting who's going to be playing this game and how serious it's going to be, or like how sweaty this game can be. So there's going to be a ranked mode, so oh really, okay, how the fuck is going to be ranked mode of this? It'll just be I'm not sure. It will just be like points based on what loot you're paying up. Yeah, XP based on what you do in the game while you're there. I guess what you extract with what. Oh, there's probably going to be certain missions for ranked Yeah, maybe like ranked missions. It's probably like the the same mission for like this this one week, there's like two or they're going to do it. Yeah probably I did. I did read how they're going to do the resetting though. But going back to your point, you can tell when you knock someone there's a giant flare that goes up like a red flare. I didn't see a flair pop off this guy. Well, if you're in the bush, like if there's a tree there, you're not going to see it, or but you hear that, Yeah, you do hear it. Yeah, but it is hard to tell if you're hitting someone or not like or how close there shooting you. You can tell when you crack someone because you see a big shot of sparks, you'll see that means they're there, their shields are gone, okay, and then then you keep shooting them. You only see like red red Mist, like a little bit of red Mist. There's no hit markers other than that though, Red Mist, red Mist. But yeah, the resets for when you want to reset, because you can't just become stronger and stronger forever, you know what I mean, right in a game like this, because then you just go in and like your bank is filled with golden guns, like a golden guns. Ye. So what they're going to do is they're going to do it like a seasonal thing where you will have a window during the end of the season, or a window every certain amount of time, every so often, where you can complete a bunch of quests that will eventually reset you if you complete them all, and you'll get a bunch of rewards that you can only get if you do that and if you reset. So it's going to be a bunch of cosmetic stuff, a bunch of uh, I'm not sure, Oh, it's a it'll be stuff that gives you buffs during the next season, but they only last so long or so they're not going to be permanent, like you can't just keep doing them to be permanently stronger and stronger. They'll only last a certain amount of time. So you ideally will be devised to do it because you're gonna get all these rewards like these, no rewards, or you don't do. It, and then you can't play ranked. I'm assuming unless after unless you do these. It might be separate. I think it might be separate. They're just like seasons, like seasons like in Diablow or yeah, Path of Exile, but you can choose not to do it unlike those, and you can still play with everyone else who hasn't done it, who hasn't done it, who hasn't done the reset. Yeah, yeah, so you still play with every reset. If you reset, you're gonna play with other people who have reset. No, not not really, No, I don't think so really, because you're gonna be reset. I mean, I don't know if they'll I mean how the matchmaking works, have no idea, but because like this guy sit the you're just gonna be people who are I'm not. Going to give up my thousand golden guns, right, and he's just gonna have So you're just gonna keep playing. The man with the Golden guns. But you can choose to do it whenever you want because they will repeat themselves every Like the window isn't like a season one window. If you miss the season one window, then you can't reset, you know what I mean. They'll just be windows that repeat every so often that you can do your resears during that time if you want, and then if you miss the season No, if you miss it, then you have to wait till the next one to do it. That's what it's gonna be. The decks, So that's a lot like Hell Divers too. So this game has taken a lot of elements of every different games and they're they're doing lessons learned and they're kind of improving on everything that's already been done. Like so the decks is like the seasons much. Yeah, you get that that blue currency that you can spend on cosmetics. I wonder if they're going to do like Hell Divers where everything's available and they're just going to keep adding on. Hell Divers to their monetization model. Is I think the perfect model, Like you can collect the currency if you want to play and collect the currency and buy the the cards or whatever you want to buy with. But the more you play, the more of these currencies you can pick up, right, just like a Hell divers. I think it's going to be the same in ARC. I hope so because it's perfect. If you want to spend money, then you can, but like you could also get all these rewards by just playing the fucking game. It just matter how much you play the game. Uh yeah, I don't know. I don't know what the Well, shouldn't we look to the finals if we're gonna I think it's gonna be different or they're just going to completely be different than that. Yeah, I think that was I think that was like a cash grab. Their monetization was good at all. You were paying like big money for skins. Well, they're gonna have that. You gotta have. Maybe not because it's for it's not a free to play game, you know, so maybe that's why they are doing that. So there you can grind if you want for the the stuff if you want to buy it. But I feel on this game we have to look out for pay to wind skins because brown, dark green, oh yeah, like mmm, you can't see them at all, and if they're in the fucking bush or you know what I mean. So I'm just using the one. To take away they should take away brown and black. Yeah, I know, That's what I'm saying, Like any skins, they should make all the skins pretty bright color, rightly colored, you know what I mean. But the game doesn't have bright colors. It's kind of all I know, except for on your like you have a yellow jacket, you have like but that weird graffiti green stuff over my pants. That's where different biomes could come in. So if it's like a jungle or some tropical place or is super colorful, then maybe a carlif for skin, will camouflage better. Or in the snow areas, a light blue or white snow or suit will look better in the snow, et cetera. Well, I know it was a problem in Morzone, it was a problem. There was a skin, the terminator skin you can't fucking see at all. Oh yeah, like because you see through like it's just bones, right, so there's not a lot there, Like it's hard to see. There was another one way back in og War Zone that was just black and people just sit in the shadows and you couldn't see them. You couldn't see them at all. You couldn't see them to shoot them. So it's a problem for sure. I just don't know if they were thinking about that. Interesting. I think they'll think about it based on the other biomes, because there was like we only played the one map. I think it was like six or seven maps on the on the large map that was like. Yeah, there's a whole bunch at least four swamp Yeah is that a map swamp? No, No, it's just a section of the map. A section of Damn. Yeah, there's a space part. That's all I remember because I found it to some door in the spaceport. I'm like, that map isn't even unlocked. Recycle. I hope we can launch into like a space station and then the robots follow us in the space. Man. I saw a guy launching on Reddit. He went onto one of those weird arc probes and I guess they fire up into the air and he was like on top of it and it fired him into the fucking sky and he just fell to his depth, like from the fucking top of the map. I was like, that is really cool. See whenever the snitch like finds you and it like shoots down the robots or like calls robots in and they're. Like, oh yes, the sound man into the ground. Oh last night we saw that this like meteor hit the mountain or something. Well, I think that's the five minute warning. It's a five minute warning. Oh is that what it is? It flies down into the mountain. It was so zoom and then it says five minutes because that zero you get nuked, do we know? Yes, you get We should sit there. We should sit there and see what happens, but you get nuked. The less time remaining there more the robots are taking over the map. When we were stuck in that dome, we're making a bunch of noise that the drones kept coming. The drones kept coming. We were throwing grenades, destroying, and then another team came in shooting at us, and then the drunes were shooting at them. Absolute chaos, which was great. It was the name of the game. You know what I'd like to see, like two minute mark or something, this massive like robot comes out of the ground and has this massive laser, just starts cutting up the map. I'm just burning people. Everything's on fire. There's already a pretty damn massive robot and the queen, but she's not in Is she in every map? She's not there all the time. You got to the person notifies you whenever you pop out of your shelter, yeah, if it's spawned or not. Yeah, that's cool. That's really cool because it's not an every time thing. Yeah, which brings me to a couple of questions or points. Why what's the point of this game? Like what is the what am I trying to do? I'm looting and I'm trying to survive, right, but to what end? Like, what am I what's the end game going to be here? I'm assuming it's going to be big robot takedowns. That you have to fight people off of them, or is it everyone just going to come together and fight these massive robots. It depends on the teams. I mean, you're probably not going to shoot the people are helping you take down a giant robot, you don't think so, no, you shoot them after? Yeah, depends on where the story will take us, right, I'm pretty like I wouldn't be surprised if they introduced this map where everybody's on the same side as yeah, and they might just take away the PvP yeah mode I think, and then everything's PvE. But I'm not sure if they're going to do that because in Gray Zone there's like PvP or PV if you want to do that. They might add PvE only mode of some kind, but there's no way they do that, like. Even for the big raid fights, Like why why would you have PvE on this massive robot fight or PvP you mean yeah, or PvP on these massive robot fights like people, because. That's what this game is. That's what it is. That's there's no other game like that, is there? So why would they make it like every other game. It'll depend on where the story will take the game. Basically. I'm just I'm just worried that like you go in and half half the servers trying to fight the robot, or you take out every other three or four there's like four or four teams that are just killing people eluding them while we're killing the robots or killing the massive like raid Boss. You know what I mean. Well, they might introduce a reputation system where if you're a villain, you'll be you'll have a mark on you. If you see the person on the map, you'll see a red mark. Okay, this guy's like no one for killing other readers that something. Maybe that's like in dungeon called Dungeon Crawler Carl, the book that me and Pam are reading. It's about like it's about aliens who come down and basically kill everyone on Earth, and whoever didn't die in the initial kind of culling gets put into this dungeon like a video game, and they have to survive and it's like a dungeon crawler. Every floor by floor by floor and you it's exactly like a video game. I think a game did that. I don't remember which one it was. Yeah, something did that recently. But anyway, you see the icon over someone's head if they've killed another person, like if they've killed another dungeon crawler. But that would be like that. But I don't know. I mean, it's unique. It's not like the other games. It's not PvE only, it's not it's not Hell Divers. It's not like that. Well, there's elements of Hell Divers. There's elements of Tarkov where you have a base where you're building all those tables. Oh mm hmm. So that's another thing for like the progression. It doesn't make me want to well obviously these folls of games not out yet, but like I can't I want to. I just can't see why I want to get the best of the best when you're gonna get reset, right, and then like you don't you get the best of the best stuff. And then you're like, okay, guys, tonight, we're gonna go look for the queen and we're gonna go take it down, okay, And then the queen gives you what some cosmetic. Achievement, blue achievements and blueprints, and then. Then people later on like, oh, look, I killed this guy. He had a queen rifle or something, you know what I mean. Like, that's the the most I can see the end game being. Right, Why do we game at all? Why do we get it all? You know? Yeah, it's a whole lot of nothing, but it's just. For them that real of it. Man, So to summarize, like, the bones are good and the potential is high. So whatever they decide to do in the future, you know, it'll be interesting. But as of now, like the foundation is really solid. Yeah, debait is really really good. It felt good. It's fun low, but it's fun. Yeah. I like sneaking around. It's fun. It's tense when there's Yeah, tension is good. I like tension. That's why I play the other games. That's why I play Battle Royals. For me, I don't feel tension in like team shooters. It's like with like attractive woman, You're like, oh, tension, the tension. Then you fart. I've been farting a lot of this episode. You might have to cut them out. I do not hear your farts. I wonder what I heard. One I just farted a really long one. Disappointed all right, Well yeah, I mean I'm I'm enjoying it. I can't wait. I can't wait to level up and progress more and see where it. Yes, I want to try those other maps, other maps, like oh I can't do this in Beata was like fox sake. Yeah, I want to. I want to see it beta. Yeah, we're pretty much maxed out. Yeah, I think so. We just need to explore more and maybe try the Queen, but that's it. Yeah, yeah, I think that would be the last, like the next thing to try. But I don't have time today.
