Cloud Gaming Isn't Good & Gamescom 2025

Hello everybody, and welcome to another episode of the Elder Trolls gaming podcast. If you are new in joining us, we are two brothers who get together and talk about gaming. We may also talk tech, TV, movies, and other nerdy geeky stuff too. But first, I'm Nasty Nate. And I am John. Oh, take it easy, and today we're gonna be hanging out. We took a couple of weeks off because the summertime is quite busy for us, and every weekend is booked because of birthdays and anniversaries and a bunch of shit. That's a losory shit. Yeah. But today we'll just be talking about the games. We're playing, some news and we'll cover a little bit of the games common what what games caught our eye? We're we're falling into these chill episodes and I don't I don't mind it. I don't care. I don't care. I'll just talk. I'll talk into the void until something answers. Okay, what's the void been saying to you recently? Well, I was in cottage for eight days, so I'm not really I wasn't really well. I was at two different cottages actually, so I was at the second one, for a day. Yes, you were there at the second one. But like, I haven't been gaming. What was like in a game at a cottage? You know, what am I going to do there? I brought my switch to and we played board games. But on the switch to what am I playing? I was playing Mario Golf sixty four. That's what I was playing. So like I wasn't actually playing any games. What a waste of money I could think. I didn't buy it a waste of money. I mean, I have Donkey Kong, but I went, we're playing Donkey Kong co op, so so I don't play it by myself and we haven't played the whole lot of it. So, I mean, other than that, I haven't really got into anything about The Bizarre. I've been playing The Bizarre a lot because that's just what I play. When I can start up a game, I'll just play it, you know, then grind. Yeah. But what's nice about that one is you could leave it. Yeah, you just drop it. Yeah. But it's been a long time since we recorded. I don't remember if I mentioned about The Bizarre launch yes out on Steam now. Yeah, we talked all about it, We covered it, we talked about it was coming out on Steam. It was it wasn't released on Steam. I thought I'd get it free on Steam since I already bought it. M mmmmmm no, but no. But I did get all the heroes up until the new hero that is that comes with the launch Steam. Like in the Edge, in the in the Temple Launcher, you got all that. Yeah, free, like you got the the two characters. I think you who were you were missing? Yeah? But is there? Run costs twenty dollars anyway, whether you bought it on Steam, if you bought the Steam version for twenty dollars on the opening day or opening week sale, you got the new hero or you have to pay twenty dollars to get the new hero in as a DLC if you already had it. People were just fucking complaining on Reddit. There's a big controversy icing Ski, Like people just want to fucking complain. Man, they're talking about review bombing it. Like if your review bombing a game because of that because you don't like that it costs forty five dollars or twenty dollars on sale in the first week, then you got fucking issues. Man, you got issues. I mean it's twenty dollars. It's a good game too, It's worth the twenty bucks. Yeah, Like, what the hell? Man I sent my control, not sent the boy. I brought controllers to this guy on Facebook marketplace to fix the stick drift issues. Oh boy, especially with my Starfield one. I want to use that one again. But this the stick drift of my Starfield controller was unbelievable. Hey, that's crazy after like right after the six month warranty period two really yeah, And then I think I mentioned it before I contacted Microsoft. They're like, oh, it's out of warranty and we can't replace those parts because it's a special edition. I'm like, it replace the fucking potentiometer because it's a special edition. Yeah, bullshit, bullshit. And so Buddy's replaced it already, so he's fixed it for twenty five bucks. I could have done that for you. And then I got him to look at my controller that I bought at ben City. If anybody doesn't know what ben City is, it's a fantastic shop where you go and buy used returned Amazon goods for dirt Sheep. And I found a PS five controller there, third party one which. Was really cool. Lights up rgb's Chinese. It's part of the cheapest thing I've ever held in my hand. Yeah, But like I was like, oh man, I was playing split Gate for like an hour with it. I was like, oh, this is broke. The camera just goes up into the sky. I'm like, no, there's a reason. It was at beIN City. So I was like, oh, maybe it's just like the control arometer bobbitter's there in the in the sticks. Maybe it's just broken and it just flicks to the sky. Right, just broken controller. Yes, So I gave him that one too. He's like, I don't know what's wrong with this so oh really So probably won't. Be fixing that one because I don't want to spend too much money on it. You know what they called the garbage in the UK the bin garbage city tusted in the bin. Another person's garbage is another rubbage treasure, isn't that? Isn't it the same? Yes? Anyway, ben City is great. I've bought a lot of things from ben City. I bought a sweet charger, like a mobile battery bank twenty bucks and it hasn't broke yet. Wow. And it can charge my phone like five times over on one charge. Oh yeah, that big white thing. Yeah, it's sick that I saw on your table. It's pretty big. That's pretty good. I guess we played. I played Magic for the first time at this cottage. Oh yeah, me too. No, I've played before, never mind, but you haven't played before. No. Thanks, I don't want to play it ever again. Why it's the same thing as Heartstone. No, it's too much. There's way too much reading. Man, it's way too There's a lot of shit, and your deck is like four hundred cards, Like, what are you gonna how are you gonna even know? What? The fuck? Like? I don't understand. It's only sixty I don't know. It's a lot like as a stacked car, same as a Pokemon, same as Pokemon sixty cards. It feels like here you go. Here's like the beginner Dinosaur deck. And I was like, uh okay, And I'm like reading through all the and there's so much information on the cards. How am I possibly supposed to keep in mind? Like you have to train on one deck for a long time, I think to know what card does what and all the synergies. But it's the same as as Hearthstone. No, it's just Heartstone is like on each card. Yeah, but the concepts are the same. Yeah, it just takes more texts to explain it in magic for some. And I'm just like okay, and then we're doing like a Battle Royale Commander. So it took like fucking three hours. Yeah, took longer than we did to beat the scenario, the Lord of the Rings scenario, and you guys were still playing. I was just like two hours. I was like, guys, and I have to read all the other person's cards to see if I can like attack them. It was brutal. I was just like, oh my god, this is too much. I'm never doing this again unless you put the deck to like twenty cards. I only played what the Cards Do. I played against one person and the first deck that I played the first two games were was so bad. The deck was awful, Like it was horrible. But you can't play many creatures. I couldn't even play any I played one creature in two games. Because the deck is so massive. You can't get through no deck. It was only it was only is it forty cards or sixty? Mine was big one. Because there's two different versions, right, there's one where the deck is bigger, and there's a smaller like one where you can play with less cards. A commander is is the big one. I think, hm hmm, it. Was a lot and I was like, I don't remember. Because there's one with one hundred and one with I think sixty. I think that's what it is. I saw a headline that said g Force now is offering fifty eighty performance. We're gonna do news first or what we're playing? I mean I was playing this. Okay, just shut up and listen. Okay, So I saw an article this guy was like, I use g Force now fifty eighty and I couldn't even tell I was not gaming natively. And I was like, I don't fucking believe you. It doesn't I'm gonna I'm going to read this article and see what he says. So anyway network speeds, well, that doesn't matter. And anyway, he said it was pretty good. It's a this is a PC gamer article. And he said he, like I said, he couldn't even tell it wasn't running natively, and he was he was playing Apex Legends. Okay, Okay, that's what he said, which I find hard to believe. I was like, insert the gift here. I don't believe you. So, like I said, I'd been on vacation, okay, and I was at the cottage and I wanted to play the Bazaar. Okay. So I signed up for g force Now for a month, thinking that I could just go to my Steam library on a virtual machine and launch the game. You can't do that. I thought you could. I'm pretty sure I did that a lot. You cannot do that because now it's a game by game basis and they have to individually be supported. So it was a way of sixteen dollars. I didn't even use it, but after I read this article, I was curious about how it generally performs if I was using it from a PC, because I would have been using it for my iPad. Now. My subscription for the g Force now is only the Performance tier, which is like the first tier. There's only there's two tiers. There's a Performance and the Ultimate. So it says like eight GPU and eight CPU cores or something is the performance whatever. It's not the full blown thing and the fifty eighty performance quote unquote, because it's not fifty eighty's in the machines. It's like it's like clustered GPUs that are supposed to be fifty eighty performance. That's what it is. It's not a real fifty eighty. It's like a bunch of other it's the fifty eighty ARCHITECTUREUS or GPUs kind of clustered together to give you general performance of a fifty eighty in your machine if you have the Ultimate plan. But that's not coming till September. Okay, So this current one that I have is uh forty eighty performance, I think it says, so that should be very good, right, forty eighty right, So I launch, I launch Apex Legends, okay, and this is on my computer using the g Force now app, and I'll be able to tell the difference. Obviously. You know, I have thirty five hundred hours in Apex on PC. I know what it fucking feels like. I know if it's any different. So I head into the firing range. I look at the settings first of all, and the settings are set to ten EIGHTYP. Yes, of course, ten ADP. That's horrible. Why why am i ten ADP? I thought this was supposed to be a fucking forty eighty forty eighty two. Because there's rendering and then there's pushing that over the network, right, So, like, does does it matter how high you're rendering for that data? Because it's just a video? Are you not controlling just a video? You're controlling a game? But it's strange video. I guess technically it's sending video and I'm not I I don't believe that like jacking up the graphics could hinder the network performance? Does that make sense? Like to send that over the network, how would that hurt? Yeah? No, I guess not. Well, it's pixels, yeah, it's it's a bigger resolution. Though when you're gaming, uh, natively, increasing graphics does increase latency because of the processing that needs to be done to crunch those. To render the frame. Yeah, to render the frame right. So yeah, But like when I was in the like in the menus, the clicking and the clicking and the mouse movement in the menu seem pretty snappy in like instant. So I was like, this seems pretty good, like when I was in the menu. But then I go to the settings, like I said, and it's ultra wide ten eighty. I was like, why is this ten eighty? It's like I would think it would be more than that. So, like I said, headed to the fireming range, and I have the fps counter on in game. With the mill with the milliseconds and all. Yeah, and it's telling me that this thing is rendering its seventy five fps. Okay, not a chance it was like twenty five fps. There's a zero percent chance that that was seventy five fps. And it was like laggy and slow in the mouse like moving the camera, very like squishy, you know what I mean? And uh, like what server were you do? You know what server? Where your server was located? No? No, I don't. I don't know how I would check. That anybody was next door to his server, I know. But well that guy was on some kind of beta, so obviously fucking Vinia probably like it's not out yet, so how was he? He was he was just doing that tryo. Yeah. So anyway, it was shit, very muchy. But the button it's weird to the button clicking and like the trigger felt fine, like the latency on the button shooting shooting, like crouching and jumping. Okay, that was fine, but it's just the moving of the mouse is just you can just feel that. It's just so it's it's wonky and there's like I said, the fps was dog shit. It was choppy. So I'm like, well, maybe it's because I'm not on the full Ultimate Tier subscription, you know. Maybe it's a lot different so they get you to pay for the big one, you know, so it must be really good. So I bought a daily pass on the Ultimate Tier, which cost me another ten dollars. So I'm in for twenty six dollars here, Okay, I'm in for twenty six dollars, and I launch Apex again expecting like high resolution two hundred and forty FPSs. What it fucking says in the goddamn print, It says four k rate tracing two and forty fps ultimate g force. Now, oh my god. And I'm like, okay, well, this has gotta be good. And it was literally just as fucking bad as it was on the fucking other subscription. And I made sure that my thing was upgraded, my account was upgraded. It was all right. And then in the firing range, it's now running at one hundred and twenty fbs in game, and it was not any better than the seventy choppy shit seventy five fbs that I was getting before, and the resolution was said at was the exact same t ADP. I'm like, what an absolute waste of money? Yeah, this is shit. You should have seen where your server was, if you're like West Coast server or where are all the servers? I have no idea that I'm sure they geolocate you to the nearest friggin one. Yeah, it's not that hard. Maybe New York. Yeah, I mean so, like I tried a couple other games, I tried ghost Runner. It was even worse than Apex somehow, because it probably it's a newer game. And it has like better graphics. So it was slow, laggy, unplayable, absolutely unplayable, unplayable on the ultimate tier forty eighty performance four k ratres. Shit is garbage getting no way, no way is it worth the money that they charge, Like, I don't see how anyone would play games like this, and if you're not like the best you can get in well, not the best way. It's like not my internet, it is none of that. I have three gigabit fiber to my house. That's not what it is. It's not my fucking internet. Okay, this service is just not good, like that money that they charge you for that, Like, how do you play this? Don't unless you like I mean, you can play games that you don't need maybe proper uh like in put late and suit you know what I mean. I can't play any would require I played like Peak. You could play Peak, yeah, okay, you could. You could play Peak, that's fine. You could play like turn based stuff. I'm sure, no problem, turn based RPPs old, yeah, I'm sure. Probably played balder Skate, Yeah exactly. You could play balder Skate three for sure. But like anything that requires input latency to be low, like, no way, no chance, you know what I mean. It was the equivalent of like having some old shitty computer, you know what I mean, like an old ship computer that runs at like twenty fs. Like that's the equivalent like Martin Peak. You were talking about their Mortal Kombat, remember that, Yeah, so yeah, I mean, I guess it's better than nothing if you like playing games at less than thirty fps. But I have I do not believe that the fifty eighty will make any difference. Like, I just don't believe it. This is just in video lying to people as they do because they're a ship bag company. There's no way you're getting two hundred and forty frames per second to my computer. Two and forty frames percent maybe, but I have to respond to an in the back, back and forth, it's zero percent chance, Like it's just not happening, okay, Like this is never happening. It's never gonna fucking happen. It's such bullshit. And even the Xbox One, like the cloud game in the Xbox One is not great. No, it's terrible. What we should do is pit them all against each other and see which one is actually the best. There's a place here, there's a bunch of there's a PlayStation one, there's an video g Force, there's there's a PlayStation one. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do that. No, no, yeah they do. And they're like all cloud gaming their premium subscription. I think you can cloud game. I should try that. There's like there's other fake like a third party one and that kind of do the same ship. But I have a feeling they're all bad, They're all terrible. You just can't do it. No, no, sir, it's just not It's not there, and it's been not there for five years. So like I in the past, I have set my computer up as a remote server, and I have played my games from like work on my phone with my mobile controller, and it's better than what like g Force. Now it's giving me like over a VPN to my own my home network. Even that's better. I've never tried that. Even playing like the PlayStation over data network from my phone elsewhere is better than that, Like, how can that be? How can that be? I think it's just like I think just the people those servers it, I think those people hammering those servers, like all these people playing and just consuming the resources on that a gazillion server. You know. Maybe I don't know, man, like it's it's just not for me. Wonder I just I'm too in tune with my wonder you know. I wonder if it was just you on that super Ultimo server, just me on one server, Yeah, if it would be any better? I don't know. Man, it was bad. I even had like a video. Don't have the video still, I can show you like I I recorded, I recorded it, and even the video shows how shitty and choppy it is. Do I still have it? Yes? I do, Yes, I do. Here, I'm gonna share. I'm gonna share this, hey girl. Yeah, okay, Like you can see it's not smooth, and this is supposed to be seventy five fps. No, that's definitely not tevy five seventy five on the server. Yeah, but it's still not This is what I was seeing though, you know what I mean? Yeah, Like I could barely aim. It was so choppy and like and the mouse was so laggy. Like I was like, maybe it's my I'm settings, I'm trying to go through the settings, like that's not that's I'm trying to aim. I'm like, this is so bad. I wonder I wonder if and video really a cherry picked that guy a PC because he's Gary. That's what they do, you know what I mean, Like he should know that's what they do. I'm like trying to shake my mouse and I geah, this. Is I can't see this as the future. I just can't see it as the future until there's like zero bottleneck anywhere in like that pipeline from that server to your home. Look, that's impossible. There's always going to be that latency that's just not going to go away. It's but not even just the latency, like I'm not even getting smooth frames, Like I'm not getting sixty fps, Like who choppy? It is? Ye garbage, it's fucking trash. It's it was awful anyway. And you're in the fucking shooting range. Yeah, I'm in the firing range anyway. That's what I was. I was experimenting for the show. You know, get a little get the knowledge out here. Guys, just don't use cloud gaming. Just save your money, give your money, and. So like even Xbox is like, why are we offering this in our highest tier game pass when it's garbage, We'll just give it to the garbage tier game. Yeah. I saw that they were doing that. Yeah, I mean yeah, why would you Why would you pay all that? Would you pay all this crap? Like just for someone pit playing like Octopath Traveler yes, yeah yeah, or some ship like like old school pixel ARPGs like turn based, Yes, that's it. You want to play Stardew Valley, sure, yes, on the cloud, but like that game will literally run on anything anyway, So what is the point play it on your phone? What is the point. There's no point of cloud gaming. It sucks so bad, it's horrible. I don't get it. And like I see people like commenting it's like I love g force now, Like what are you playing on it? Like you just literally do not have a computer at all, So you just play it on your phone, I guess, or your TV. What are you playing that it works? You must be playing if anybody's listening to RPGs and it. Put it down below, put your server where the G four server is, where you're located, where you're playing. What are you playing that you're satisfied with? Because I have never had a successful game, like a gameplay time with either g force now or Xbox Game Cloud. I have on Xbox, but I was playing Octopa the traveler, like like I said, and then. Even then on Xbox blurry still yeah, it's blurry. And then I always get these weird pixelated yeah like you say artifacts and then it tears up. It's it's ship. I always get that the same thing. And I was playing, but I was playing on my my TV on the app, on my actual TV, so like that, probably the network interface on the TV is shit. Like I can't I can't see how they're like pushing cloud gaming so much to like to get everyone into gaming no matter where you are, blah blah blah blah. But it's all trash. It's such trash. Technology is not even it's not it won't be there for I can't even see it being there ever, unless I'm like teleported to the server. That's because it's latency. It's not bandwidth. You could have a forty gigabit connection. The latency is still because the latency that's rendered the frame latency on the server that it takes the server to render the frame, which is gonna be like I don't know, ten milliseconds, seven to sixteen depending on the resolution milliseconds. Then there's a network latency from you to the. Server, which is like fifty sometimes thirty, Yeah, twenty if you're on fiber or whatever. Yeah, yeah, maybe like I get twenty two to thirty natively on to the Apex servers. Okay, so you have like twenty five milliseconds to that, you're at fucking forty milliseconds. Then your controller to your PC. Yeah there another five and in the app or whatever. Yeah, that's too much. That's crazy. I mean that's a total of flight. It's still onder hundred fifty sixty. Yeah, it's still in a one hundred, but it still doesn't feel like a native one hundred milliseconds, you know what I mean. That doesn't It doesn't feel the same. It's like multiple layers of latency that just I can't do. Can't do it. Until the AI can predict your movements on the controller, then not gonna have. You're just playing a nothing game, generated AI game, So you're not even playing the game. Yeah, stupid. I actually read an article that in videos starting wanting to do that. Yeah, I can see it, like generate your ideas ephics. Yeah, some some games will just completely be generated by AI as you play. Them like locally. Yeah ah, anyhow, that's ridiculous. M hm, that's the game. That's game time too. I'll talk about some games that I've been playing. Kingdom Come Delivers too. I finished up the first deal. C me too. Oh, I finished well the lion one. I finished the one with the Brunswick armor. I found all. I'm sorry that would be the first deal see the paint the paint brush of DLC. I didn't do that one. I'm in Kuttenberg, though. I went back to Kutenberg to meet to meet the painter in. So you've got a long way to goo. Okay, this one was long. Okay, it was good, but it was much longer than I thought it was going to be, which wasn't It was good. It was very funny at times. So did you get to the part where you had to scare the other painter? I'm doing that now. Yeah, it's very funny. I gotta go meet him at the bath house. But yeah, without giving too much way, the shields could have been a little bit better. I don't even use shields, so I don't care at all. Yeah, I don't use a I haven't used a single shield in one hundred hours. Can't If you use a shield, you can't do the what's it called? Can you. The the stabby? You can? I think, yeah you can, but I use a two handed sort, so that's right. Yeah, I don't know. The story was funny, very funny, lots of talking, lots of I know. But I was like listening and I was like, like the acting is It's hilarious. I'm like, there's a lot of talking here, but I'm like engaged and I don't care because the guy he reminded me of Willem Dafoe, like the fainter. He's fucked. He's like this guy because he's been hearing like voices and he's telling me to kill this guy who's been who's been terrorizing the the town for thirty five years or yes, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah some guy and I go kill him in his sleep. I snuck into his camp. I just ran in there and they all saped me, and I was like thinking, steady. He told me not to kill his He told me not to kill his cronies because they're just young, misguided. Uh. When I killedols, when I killed one, you killed one. I killed I killed buddy and all the others ran away. So oh, I went in choke one guy out, put him down choke another guy out. I had my sneakies on. It was dark. I couldn't see a damn thing. I just saw them because they had their torches, like the like if you don't have a torch out in that game, it's just it's like, which is I can't see a damn thing. So I had to just go towards their torches. And then I went and the guy was sleeping. I just put a dagger in his throat. That's it. That's the way it went. And then I told him he's like, excellent work. Yeah, finish that up. There's another there's another one coming. Next. New one is the Legacy of the Forge. It's called where you get to open a blacksmith and restore it to its former glory. That's cool as a blacksmith Master, Henry the Blacksmith Master. It's going to be like a cozy game DLC within the k c D World Cozy game. Yeah, so you get to restore your forge, decorate it, design it, do like work for people. They come in what are they called like a contract with quests. Yeah, quests come in very cool. That comes out next week, I think the ninth, ninth, So like a couple. Like ten days, but there's another one also coming out. Then there's the last one. No, there's an Indiana Jones DLC Oh. Yes, I days before that. Yeah, I want people like know it. Mm hmmm, because I have to get a game pass because I didnt buy it on Steam. Oh no, I bought it. I bought it on Steam. Yeah, you bought it on Steam. What else? I have beat Oblivion Remastered? Really beat the main story of Oblivion. I've never done that. I haven't done that either before until now. Wow, I never. Done and I've explored it. I've played hundreds of hours, but I've never beat the main story. So to get around the whole Oblivion Gate thing that I didn't like to doing, I just ran through it. I'd shield myself and I'd run through the Oblivion Gate, get to top, pull the sigil within five minutes, and I'd be finished. Every Oblivion Gate like that. There's a few where you have to do puzzles, which I didn't do those ones, so I would just leave. Oh. So there's like because you don't have to do every single one. Right, So there's a part in the game where you have to go around and pretty much close Oblivion gates around all the towns to get their support for the final fight or one of the final fights. So I got like, out of the six or seven cities, I did like three or four because the others were like too complicated and I couldn't run through them. So I was like, fuck it, I'm not doing those. I'll just do these. I'll run through the tower, climb to the top, pull a sigital. Done. You do like the huge max out your like aerobics or whatever, and you just jump to the top like I see in these stupid videos that everyone has. Like it. It's like, oh, this is uh, this is playing Oblivion with a maxed out uh aerobics or whatever the hell it is. And he's like jumping like the Hulk fucking He's like jumping to the other fucking town. Like what the hell? That does not look like Oblivion was not that high. My aerobics was looking like forty and I wasn't jumping that high. Oh man, it was so weird. I don't know if they were cheat just cheats or hacks or. But yeah, this game is this weet Master is so beautifully done. If anyone remembers I played Expedition in thirty three first, because I knew I'd just keep coming back to oblivion, like I'll drop it, I'll come back, I'll explore, i'll play, I'll drop it. But once I got back into it, oh man, I just kept just kept playing and the graphics are so good, just kept me immersed diving into those caves, exploring and oh the armor looked so good. And man, the combat in the game is very weak, especially like when you're a. Warrior class on controller. It's horrible. Yeah, it's awful, especially as your warriors. You're just like trying to aim spells like I was. I was playing on PS five when Pam and Pam's file, like how do you play this? Like you aim a spell, there's no like a assistancen't there's zero and you're just like there's like throwing fireballs and not hitting a single on it, Like this is right in front of you, How can you play this game on controller? But I had like this. I found the Sweet Acts where if you kill an enemy with it, it traps the soul, yeah, into whatever soul Jim you have. And then I found the Dedra the Dedra art fact that is like it is like a massive soul gem, but it's like a it's just like an artifact sole gem. So that's how I didn't even have the spell to to soul Trap because it was level twenty five mysticism and I fucking couldn't get it up there. I was like, Okay, come on. Is that what you needed to cure your vamporism? A giant soul gem. No, like you needed like six massive soul gems. Those so you could go buy them. Everyone has one. And the lighting in the caves was so amazing, especially those ones were like the underground like cathedrals, like the broken down cathedrals and. The the crypts. And the torch remember the deep like dwarf and ruined ones, they're really big, like they have all the machines and like the bots sky oh is that Skyram? Yeah? Maybe? But I got cranked the ray tracing in this game, cranked the hardware rate racer too, and with the lighting in all the caves and the and the build like in the castles indoors. Oh man, so sick. I purchased a new game called Tainted Grail Fall of avalon Oh I think I heard about this one. I've been waiting for this game to go on sale because I know it's like a it's like an indie game, very small dev team in Poland. So it went on sale for ten bucks cheaper on PS five. So I was like, okay, I'll get it for PS five because like, I don't like turning on my computer and remote playing if I don't need to. So I just I wanted to natively play something on the PlayStation because I haven't since well, I guess since Death Straining too. But I like to just play my PlayStation if you know, I just sit down and play it. The demo was pretty cool, so I was like, okay, yeah, I'll I'll buy this for fifty bucks and support the small team. You know, very very heavily inspired by the Elder Scrolls series, very like everything is pretty much coming from Oblivion remastered to this. It's like everything you do just increases your stats. Like you're jumping. If you keep jumping, athletics goes up. If you sneak around, your sneak goes up. It's a first person RPG, dark fantasy, Okay, stuff like that. So and the story is actually really cool. So I think this is what got a lot of people interested to dark fantasy. ARPG set six hundred years after King Arthur's time on the island of Avalon, where a supernatural force called the Weirdness and the Red Death Plague are corrupting the land. The player is a nameless prisoner another Elder Scrolls. The player is a nameless user who discovers they are bonded to a fragment of King Arthur's soul and must embark on a quest to collect the remaining pieces to aid his resurrection and restore the dying world that brings U. The resurrection of King Arthur. Yeah. Yeah, and then very dark, very grotesque, grotesque, but like sometimes it looks really nice and sometimes it looks like the best PS three game I've ever played, you know, like it's it's so it's so weird, and it's so fucking yanky yanky as hell, Like my spell's not my spell's not doing anything. I'm like whacking this guy in the face of my sword and there's nothing happening. I'm like, aw, but like it's hard to like at the beginning levels, it's very hard. But now that I'm I'm like specking into Sneak, I can sneak around and like one shot people with my bow shots while I'm snuck while I'm in sneak. Oh That's what I would do in Skyroom. The primary reason why undere Engine five based games don't run smoothly on certain pecs or GPUs is the development process. Of course, optimization is by no means an easy task. It's a very challenging one. Ideally, optimization should be implemented early in development, before full scale content build begins. No, not even VR, and it's just unreallenge of five ultra realistic. So you're just walking through this forest like it's super cheap, like a low budget. So like so it tries to like jump scary and you're walking through the fucking forest. If you scream, the games over. Yeah. Oh you just disconnect your microphone. And you just walk. You just you just walk. There's no like objective. I think you just keep walking till you like find whatever. And I found it simulator. I found this little town that was like a butcher shop, and I walked into the at nighttime. Obviously I have a flashlight going to this butcher shop, and you can hear like monsters or zombies like chop on the chopping block, and I'm like what is that noise? And then I hear the dumpster outside that clothes oh man, and then scares the shit of you. I had. There wasn't many games that I had written down here. Actually only one that wasn't an existing like IP that I've played, and that was Neo Berlin. Oh I didn't see that one. It didn't look actually didn't look amazing, But I was just interested in it because it was like a mashup of the Matrix and Cyberpunk. It's like they're they're living in it. It was like a simulation. This was. This was and even had like a Morpheus looking dude with glasses speaking to the guy like I was like, man. The voice acting didn't seem great though, yeah kind of. But the thing is, this has caught my eye. I don't know why. I just caught my eye because of like Cyberpunk with Matrix and the voice acting was bad and it kind of reminded me of Atomic Heart, which I don't think I really ever mentioned on the show on the pod. But I did start playing it, yeah okay, and I played it for like four hours and I completely dropped it and forgot about it, forgot that I even played it. Because that's how bad it was, and like forgettable, it was like I had pretty high expectations like looking at it, because like I think the reviews weren't bad, but that's probably because it was a bunch of Russian fucking bots reviewing it, like it's completely Russian propaganda and it was not good. But like I'm kind of getting that vibe from this just not promising, but. This was this was a PlayStation exclusive on PC as well, right. I think this one PlayStation exclusive on PC. I just want it to freaking come out already. Let's go. So Lord's the Fall and it's forty dollars right now, the first one that's not even on sale, so once it goes on sale, we'll get it the second. But the second one is Lord's the Fall in the first one version two point zero. We'll play it. We'll play it, we'll play it. What are you talking about? You want to play the second one? Anything else, No, that's all I really had. I mean, like I said, it wasn't overall very interesting other than the stuff that we already know about and like, do I play in Dana Jones DLC. Maybe it comes out five days before the new Henry DLC, so yeah, maybe I can sneak it in before that if I finished the Painter one, which get all I will do. It was fun. I was playing it yesterday, but again I gotta sit here at this chair and play it now because I don't have the PC on the TV anymore. The Indiana Jones. You could probably remote play, yeah, probably, Yeah, that'll be fine. Yeah, I could maybe do it from the Apple TV with a steamlink or something or whatever they look yeah, or I guess I could use Apollo. Yeah I didn't use Apollo. I tried Paolo to my server. It just didn't work anymore. Like it wasn't working. It would just crash. Yeah, it would just disconnect me, boot me out, and then completely brick any remote connection at all. Even if I go to my PC and try to remote desktop down back to my server, would brick that too, So I would have to go down fucking stairs and connect the freaking computer to my TV connected mouse and keyboard. Like it was a giant pain in the ass. So I just uninstalled it. That's never happened to me. Are you always playing on your PC with like the monitor turned on and ship no cut it off? What's nice about Apollo is it's all virtual desktop screens that you have to set up. Yeah you do that. Yeah, I did the virtual display driver, and it would just completely fuck me and disconnect me, right, so I stopped. It still works to me, still works for me till till this day. Nope.
