All We Know about the rumoured Witcher 3 DLC and Witcher 4

Hellover, buddy, and welcome to another episode of the Elder Trolls Gaming podcast. If you are new in joining us, we are two brothers should get together and talk about gaming. We may also talk tech, TV, movies, and other nerdy geeky stuff too. But first, I'm nasty Nate and I'm taking John. I'm gonna use I'm gonna get a little closer to my microphone today. Now it's now it smells funny. Uh man, what was I gonna say? What we're going to talk about today? Oh? Well, yeah, we're going to talk about which are three rumors that are saying an official expansion is coming out. I have heard this time or this year sometime. So we'll go through what we know about the what we've announced. Yeah, well we can find the unannounced official Witcher three expansion. But first, it has been so cold last week my window cracked right across corner to corner. Well, yeah, that's probably very old window. Maybe the I don't understand the are gone within it failed or whatever. Oh yeah, it's definitely the ur God is definitely gone. But like, I don't understand how the window would crack. Dad says it's because it just finally stressed out after the house had been moving from so long. Also that yeah, with the cold. Yeah, and it was just tracking. Yeah, it was just about It was just about time that it cracked. But I was like, I don't know, just that one, that one moment where everything just aligned where the house isn't moving anymore, but the window is still moving based on where the house has moved, you know what I mean? So maybe just stress cracked. Yeah, because if the corners are squeezing it in something. Yeah, shifted a bit and the glass is under stress, right. And it's shrinking because of the cold, and then. Heating up because of the heat on the inside. Yeah, did I say shrinking? Heat? Expand shrinkage? No heat, It shrinks like a frightened turtle. I don't know how you guys walk around with those things. You know. It also was cool, very cold. Speaking of cold, you know what was cool? I found an rt X forty sixty t I for undred and sixty dollars. I was like, two hundred dollars off. I almost bought it. No, buy it, No, because I was like I was gonna go today, for what purpose would you buy it? Exactly? So I was like, Okay, if I do buy it, what am I gonna do with it? So then I started like building a little PC with it. No, it's impossible, Like the RAM prices are so stupid, Like it's absolutely ridiculous. How is anybody or who in the right mind would build a PC right now? No, one, sixteen gigabytes of RAM is three hundred dollars, Like that's crazy. So it's like what a year ago, I got forty eight gigs a DDR five six thousand, yel thirty one hundred and sixty nine dollars, Yeah, a year ago. Yeah. And I so it's like, man, I could make a steam it would be like six hundred dollars. I could make a steam machine with that forty sixty TI you know, if RAM wasn't so fucked. Oh it's so sick, I would have had a forty sixty on my TV. Man just buy it. Yeah, That's what I'm thinking for when RAM comes down, I mean, or just find or just find like a like a used pre built somewhere. Once the Chinese RAM starts flooding the market, did you gamers nextus died a video the documentary kind of video about Chinese Ram kind of sneaking in and it's something about like five percent right now market share or something. But there's three companies I think, okay, three RAM companies that could we could see kind of game happularity because of this. This is what happens to see that, and then China's gonna sneak in because they're cheap and we're just gonna get what we need from China. No one wanted that, but now that's how it's gonna have to be. That's just the way she goes. That's capitalism, greed, capital greed capitalism. Whoever has the product the reasonable price that is good, people are gonna buy it. And if it's not good, I mean if not good, if it turns out that it's not good, people. Won't buy it. And then that's it. That's how it goes. I'll have a Chinese PC spying on me, it doesn't matter. They're always spy anyway. Yeah, Oh, they like to spy. That's how we lost Nortel turned into Nortel. We had Nortel here in Ottawa. Yeah. Yeah, the Chinese bugged the buildings up so bad they stole everything from them and they're now Huawei, and Nortel went out of business. Wow really yeah, because we're we tore it all down, took all the bucking bugs out and everything. Like actual bugs. Yeah, like yeah, spying bugs and what they told. They stole everything from Nortel and they started Huawei. That's wow. You can fact check me on that, but I believe it's true. I believe that is true. Wow, we could have we could have Nortel, Nortel smartphones. Who could have had built in Canada. Yeah that was a long time ago. Yeah, what else is new? We moved Ayla to one one nap Daze. So she was eating her lunch. Well, I was trying to feed her lunch and I gave her like a little it's those little bell cheeses, little wheels of cheese. She's like yeah, baby bells part of her lunch. And she's like and like her eyes are like closed. I'm like hey, like hey, yeah, yeah, okay, we gotta get you to bed and then hopefully the laps are longer, so then she stays up longer later, but then she's going to bed earlier these days, so I'm getting a little bit more time. Game time, game time fast. The past couple of days, album has been working, Daddy's been. Playing you know, nice, nice, nice, Well, speaking of game time, let's do it. Oh there we go, sweet, okay, cool transition. We're in game time now. Game time. What have we been playing? Well, we tried Wildgate? Oh yeah, okay, so Wildgate was free on Epic Game Store or I don't know, a month ago maybe, and we just got her onto playing it. Like maybe me and the Siege from now. Now. This isn't a free to play games, so people bought this game whoever, well, or they it for free on Epic Games. It was one of those fifty dollars It was one of those fifty dollars ones. Yeah. So you checked the Steam the Steam charts on who how many players were playing? And there were how many at the time that we were playing, was like twenty eight players. Twenty eight players because we couldn't find a game right and we were playing at night. We were playing Thursday night or something or Wednesday night. Yeah, trying to find a game and it just would not go And no one is obviously playing. This fucking game. It is dead dead dead. Yeah. So I mean we had to play like the AI game, the AI against the AI. I mean, it's it's a little it's different. I don't I don't know. I mean it's okay, but I would have liked to be able to play against real people to see how it actually is, because like, it's got a lot of stuff in it, a lot of element. Yes, And that's where my biggest peeve is there's too much and like that. Yeah, I think there's too much that you have to do in one of these matches. You have to go to the wild gate, you have to go get the artifact. You gotta fight for the artifacts. You got to do puzzles to get to the artifact. You gotta protect your ship. You got to go to the other persons ship and their ship three players and you only have three or four four players I think like Max and like and the one. Guy has to basically probably do each task, Like one guy is defending the ship and running around and putting out fires and shooting the guns, and one guy is maybe going to try to sabotage the other ship, and then one guy is going to go try to loot the stuff from like the various kind of stations or whatever, and then maybe another guy pilots the ship or another guy helps sabotage like maybe a ro a rover, but it doesn't it's not fast to get around. Yes, exactly, it's not fast that there's not. Really it wouldn't really be good to have one guy rovering because it would just he'd be just floating through space. It was very slow and the ship was slow. I don't know if the ships get upgrade or not, but like the ship is so slow. It's like, go get the artifact. It's seven hundred meters away. It's like I'm like wah. I'm like yeah, well, I'm like there's so much stuff to juggle. And I was like they just like took away half the ship, you know what I mean. I think it was over zealous in their idea that this was like a PvP looter space ship extractor. Like, yeah, it was too long because they're supposed to go loot stuff and upgrade your ship with it. Yeah, by the time you go get it and like bring it back to your ship and install it like there's like it's just not viable. No. Yeah, yeah, I think it was too too a bit too much off the sandwich, I think, yeah, but there's nobody playing that game. No, see if they would have just kept it like that's hard to say, like the artifact, let's minus the artifact and let's minus the wildgate. Okay, and you just got to EVP shooter on two ships. You board the ship. No, no, no, I'd like the ship like getting out part. But I think that's probably why they made the ship so slow, because getting out is hard and the other guys can kind of interrupt you or sabotage or whatever like overheat your core or whatever, so you can't escape. Or you can't like you can't you don't want to get off your ship. Like it's it was a lot, It was a lot. It was a lot. Yeah. It was The shooting felt okay though, like the shooting the bots like it felt like Overwatch. Oh like yeah, okay, the headshots. Yeah, and it just felt. Like a Sea of Thieves kind of kind of where you jump on the other person ship you're sabotaging and blowing the ship up from inside. Did you do that because I went for the artifact. Did you go to the other Yeah, I went ship. I blew up the other ship. Yeah, so I went in there. Yeah, I killed everybody, overloaded their reactor, and then I like jumped off. See that's pretty cool though, that's that's fun, Like that would be fun. Like, I don't know it has I think it was faster. I think if it was a lot faster. Yes, it's definitely too slow. There's a pacing issue for sure. Yeah, it's definitely too slow. Now we don't know that later on you get jetpacks or something that make you faster. I don't know. But like the beginning, like the one battle we were in, it was so slow. Yeah, it was really slow. Yeah, shame, shame, shame. I played it. I played in the I played in the open beta when it really st the open beta, and I had the same sort of feeling. I was like, this is very very slow. M I don't like that. I don't like slow games. Yeah, I don't like it. So I promptly uninstalled that game. Have you played High Guard? Did you try High Guard out? No? No, no, not yet. Really I tried it. I played it for like three hours. Oh okay, tell me about it's it's pretty good. Actually, I mean it feels really good. It feels better on controller than it did on mouse and keyboard. It might be a controller game. I don't know if they overtuned the amos a little bit. But it's kind of like a mix between a bunch of different games. It's a mix. It's a three v three arena shooter, so two teams three v three kind of like remember Apex is arena mode, think about that. So you have yeah, yeah, map three v three. The map is much bigger than the Apex ones would have been though. I read that. I read that was a big issue with a lot of people, was too large. Yeah, the map is huge. So the pacing early at the pacing is a little slow early on because it kind of have to at the beginning, you have to go out and kind of gather some things. You have to gather these little crystals you can mine them and they're your your currency that you can buy things at the shop, kind of like in League of Legends where you have a little shop upgrades. So there's that aspect of it. There's a three v three shooter aspect of it. It's a hero shooter. So each hero has different abilities. It also has a you both have a base and you have to defend the shore up your defenses, so it's kind of also like a tower kind of defense game. And then along with that it is a bomb planting and diffusing game search and destroy, call of duty or counterstrike, so you have to break into the other team's base and plant the bomb and then defend it so it goes off and the other team has This is all in one mode. Yeah, that's just the main mode. But it is pretty good. Like the abilities are pretty cool. The shooting, the gunplay feels good. The movement feels pretty good. It feels similar to Apex slide slide jumping. There's no well bouncing, but the kind of movement is good. The sliding feels good. Yeah, I mean it's not bad. I think the early hate, maybe a lot of people are saying, was because they because they announced it at the Game Awards, like like it was going to be some big thing and it's not like a huge triple A thing like it was the second last, the second last, the last trailer. I think it's getting a little more flat for that. But the I think the Steam reviews are evening out, they're getting better, but like it's okay, it's certainly not. Bad. It's better than the wild Gate, I guess, but I would play it, like if people want to play it, I would play. It's like teams are three three three and you have a mount, so you get up a mount so you can run around. You run around on the. Map to find your little chest, so you have to find crates with like in the first minute of the round, they let you free roam to gather stuff, so you can find your currency or your find crates to open. You find loot in them, you find armor, you find different guns, whatever. Then you go buy your upgrades and then the round starts and then you want to go find the this shield breaker it's called so it spawns somewhere on the map and you have to go contest for it, and whoever gets it can go smash into the other team's base, okay and open the shield and that's when you go in to plant the bomb. So like that's cool. It's pretty sweet because you have to. It's kind of like you you know they're coming in. They're coming in from one spot, so you have to kind of defend it. The shield's open. And they come in and then then like overtime, you can't respawd similar to Search and Destroy. Yeah, I like it. The characters, well, the one thing I would say the character that I played is this girl who has like gives your teammates can give her. You give them a little extra shield so they have a little bit extra kind of health to be a little tankier. And her ultimate is creating a spawn point, which is huge because when you respawn, you spawn all the way like back, but it took forever for the alt to charge, Like I had games where I didn't even get it, So like they need to retoo in that for sure, because like I maybe used it once or twice the whole time I was playing. Then the other there's another character with like a bird and you can send out a bird and it flies around in scans, which was cool. And then there's her ultimate I think is you go into the bird's eyes and you can shoot smoke smoke screens to cover where you're like grades just shoots like a tornado that puffs up a big thing of smoke. Okay, so it's a big screen smoke treen. You can shoot three of them. I think I think that's her ultimate with scans with the bird. Another guy is like jumps around and smashes walls, so like he can break the structural environments. Yeah, the walls you can break in the in the bass part. Does it look okay? The graphics, yeah, Randon looked pretty good to me, ran good. A lot of the A lot of the reviews said it was piss poor. Really, I don't know. I have a good video card, so I don't know. It ran fine, ran fine for me, But I don't know. If you want to play it, we should play. It's it's worth it's worth trying. I would say, let's see download it worth trying. Free to play. I didn't notice any aggressive. I didn't notice any excessive like micro transactions in my face or anything like that. It seemed okay. I don't know. I would love if there was wall jumping. Why can't games just add wall bouncing? Like why? Why? Why? Because it's awesome? Yeah, but I don't know. It just gives it just gives people more an advantage. It's a skill advantage, you know, Yeah, skills that's like a physical like finger skill controller thing. That's why I like Apex. Okay, high skill selling. You know what else, We tried outward to play test. We got invited to the outward to play test. This is an open world survival RPG where they just don't hold your hand at all. They throw you into this place. They give you a little story to start, then you're out into the wilderness and it's and it's much like the first game. This is an alpha. It's this is alpha like I supposed to I thought I was supposed to release this year. So like they got a lot of work to do based on that play test. Yeah. Wow. So we're running around and you get stuck on everything. You get stuck on edge, like say, there's little ledges, little rock ledges, rocks. There's like a bridge, and I'm like, oh, I just want to jump down onto the path under the bridge. You can't jump off the bridge. You can't like run off the bridge. You can't run off edge off the bridge, you can't run off jumping. Yeah, no jumping, there's no climbing. So like, man, yeah, we were running around and I just fell into this crevasse and this crack in the earth, in the earth, and I fell down onto this rock and I was stuck there because I can't do anything, and I couldn't get down to I'm like, and I kind of tried to make my way down the rock face like hopping ledge to ledge, which I did. Then you can't get up like where we couldn't. I couldn't get up to you because you were kind of like one small level above, yeah, like a little rock above you, and you could climb or vault up. So dumb. Yeah, I made a post on the steam steam page like you need to add mantling or climbing or jumping or something like. This is horrible, But I mean the idea of the game was funny. The first game was hilarious when we played it. We played it for a few hours, I think. But that was funny because you're you're just some normal loser nobody like this town, chicken ship in this town that. You have to like, oh, this is the first one, by the way, Yeah, the first one. You have to like buy back or pay off your debts, your debts, your family's debts. So you have to go an adventure to get these debts paid off. But you're just usually a normal dude in this world of magic fighting troglodytes. Yeah, that was funny, dude, Yeah, funny, but like it doesn't look any much better than the first one, you know what I mean. I'd rather just play the first one. Yeah, yeah, so far. Yeah, I would say yes. Which we might, but like we played with the mod. Yeah, it's another thing. You can only have two it's only a two player online co op. Like they you know how much shit they got on the first one for only having two player and then they do it again? What put four player co op? You know a lot of missed opportunities here, like, oh, we're stressing the multiplayer. I was like, okay, well, how many people can play two? Yeah? So then someone had made a co op mod to add x as many players as you want. It's just the if you get further than or if you get more than four players in an instance, it starts getting real wonky. So we played with four players and I could, and it started getting wonky, like levels wouldn't load or caves wouldn't load. We would be de syncing like constantly. I don't remember that. It was me, me, p Q, and Reno. We were trying to do one dungeon and like I would enter the dungeon, they could I couldn't find them, they could see my loot. Like it was very strange, like just put a four player co op online, just do it, just freaking do it. Anyway, I promptly uninstalled that I won't be playing that one again. Yeah. I was literally looking forward to that too, Like I wish they were just did what they did with one and just give us more. Yeah. I played Divinity Original sin Oh. I was looking for a single player game. Yeah too, Sorry the second one. I just was looking for something to play. But I started playing this, I bought it. I think it was like, I don't remember how much it was. I got twelve hours in it right now. It's it's very similar to Balder'sgate, like the play, the way it plays, the combat basically the same. It's really similar. The only thing different is in balders Gate is more of a D and D with the rolling of dice the bonus. And the world roles and stuff like that. And the world is dand Okay, yeah, so if the world is in D and D whatever, but the. Rolling is really fun. In Bouldersgate. It added a little more so after I started playing Divinity, me and Pam started a bolder skate co op bulders Skate three co op and like immediately I'm like, oh, yeah, okay, this is so much better, so much better than Divinity Original, Like it's still good like this. The you can still kind of do the same stuff, attack anything you want, like kind of the same mechanics. But yeah, the the voice acting and kind of obviously the graphics are a little dated, it's still pretty good. I'll probably I'll keep playing it. I played a bit last night too. It's hard though, Yes, it's nice. I remember it being very hard. I was like, I think that's probably why it's. Not level up, Like I'm at a point now where these guys don't have to go and fight I think are like two levels higher. They like where the hell am I going to level up? Like how am I going to level up? There's not really much around to fight? Or like what the fuck is this? Doesn't hold your hand on quests really. It'll put a little marker on the map, but it doesn't really tell you much, Like you can't even mouse over on the marker and see what the hell it is, you know what I mean? Like, like what quest is this? I don't know? Yeah, it's Balldersgate definitely way better. I can't wait for the new one though, that's gonna be sick. Yeah, well, if they take ballers Gate three, yeah, and they're not because because they have to work inside the framework of D and D for bulders Gates. So like the rules, I think the rule I would love for them to add the rolling and stuff like. That too, though I'm sure they will. They're going to take bulders Gate three and they're going to use that experience and everything they learned there and give it a go and their own, because their original Sin two is their own. It's like an original everything story worlds. I think. Yeah, it's tough, it's tough, the characters are okay to not not as cool as Balder's Gate three either, but but it does give you that option for like the options for doing different things. Like I had one where I could either choose to save this ice dragon guy by giving him some fancy wand that I found so we could free himself. Or I could use the fancy wand to kill these other things that are kind of keeping me on this island. So I chose to give it to the dragon and free the dragon, so I no longer have the wand to fix the other thing, but it kind of opened up a different path that like something else happened. So it was pretty cool. But yeah, it's a it's all right. All right. I tried the Neo three demo. Oh yes, three, Yes, I drafted it in my Fantasy League. Very very cool. I like it a lot. I played it on PS five though, and it looked very dated obviously it so I stopped because I don't want to buy it on PS fives because the demo progress carries over to the released content. So if you play however far into the demo, then you get to continue. And I didn't want her. It's a ten hour demo, like seven to ten hour demo. They said, wow, yeah, that's insane. I got about two. I played huge. I played about two two hours or so, maybe even three, like, I played pretty far and I stopped. It was like, okay, I don't want to keep playing on PS five because I'm not going to buy it on PS five, so I stopped. But it is definitely something I would pick up. It felt really good, like a very It was a very solid, souls like action RPG. Very cool. The aesthetic Samurai Samurai asthetic. You know, you can switch between Samurai and Ninja like on the fly, so you get access to different weapons for different enemies. So if you fight an enemy and you're like, oh no, I think I'd be better off like using the Shanobi kind of skills, so then you can flip flop in and out during the fight. Really cool. Story seems pretty cool. I don't know if I have to play the other two. I don't think so, because I'm pretty sure I've picked up the story for this one. This has been pretty good, very cool, very cool, very cool, very cool. I'm hoping it does very well because I have it on my Fantasy League. Well so far, the reviews on the demo are reviews on the demo. Yeah, if we go to a Neo three demo, I don't know. I thought there was. No user reviews. I thought there was. I thought I saw something. I guess not. Anyway, I drafted it, but an update on the Fantasy League I wanted. After much deliberation, I was like, all right, I'm going to counterpick Half Life three. I'm going to counterpick it, and it's gonna win me the year. And what happens that rat bastard Calvin from gaming Duo bid the same amount as me, and he won it because he did it first. Somehow, even though I did it on freaking Monday. He must have done it on. He must have woke up right when the lion the doors opened for it. I didn't think anyone else would do it. I should have put more. I should have. I should have valued it more. Yeah, he definitely should have. I only put ten dollars, while we both put ten dollars. It was a tie. It was a tie, and I'm afraid that. I'm afraid that's gonna win him the year. That's just a. Free game, because it ain't coming out. It ain't coming out. It's just not I'm telling you right now, it's not. I'm also playing something else. Holy geez, this is the one that's taken up most of my time. Three Blood, Blood and Wine Expansion. Holy moly, everyone wasn't kidding. This expansion is so amazing. It's so excellent. So you're just doing like the expansion quest, like the main quest of the expansion, and then. Well, in Witcher three fashion, right, they'll let you go on the the main quest for a couple of quests, and then they're gonna the next quest is like five fucking levels higher than you, and you're like, then you do a few other quests. Really, yeah, they do it all the time. That that bothered. You can't just Golden path which are three? So like, I'll do a bunch of the main story quests and it's like, okay, meet me here, and then I look at my quest log it's like five levels hired and in which are three? Like whenever something's five six levels hired, you like, it's hard. Yeah, So then I just went around. I did some side quests which were also so good. There's side quests of this one are so freaking good. I had to save this lady's vineyard from monsters. Go around. I was hoping to banger but I didn't. But yeah, it's so good. The story is good, the characters are so good. Man. Which are three? So sick? So sick? It's getting me pumped for which'? Four like really pumped for Wich you're? Four like really? Pumped when the hell is that? COMING i don't know winch or? Four but they said which are? Four there's gonna be three not like, sequels but sequels what or, like there's gonna be three major expansions or something like one year after the other boom boom, boom so which of? Four and then a year later there's gonna be a big, expansion then another big expansion and then like they're gonna have a big big thing for which. Four but playing which is three or, now it's. Amazing it's absolutely. Amazing and this game is how? Old ten years? OLD i THINK i just had a ten tenth year anniversary twenty. Fifteen, yeah and the graphics are, Unbelievable, like, yeah there's like next they did an next gen update for THE ps five and stuff like, that and there's also mods on ON pc Which i've. Installed but this game looks better than half The TRIPLE a games that are coming out. Now it's, Insane like it looks way better Than neo three ON ps. Five, yeah ON p five you're playing on a jacked UP pc, though, yes playing with it racing rad, tracing enhanced graphics all, this so that's that's. Understandable but, yeah very very. Cool so HOPEFULLY i going to beat that and then Maybe neo three come. Out i'll play that and then. What what's coming? Out what's coming? Out we? Won we went to The steam.
