[00:06:17] Yeah, so it's like rhythm gameplay, specifically labeling the Dustborne as the outsiders.

[00:06:24] And they're all around us. There's something that the people who publish that are the people who

[00:06:29] published heavy rain and the cherry become humid and all those games. Yeah heavy rain. Because

[00:06:35] I don't remember being like this. Well, they didn't develop that. I don't know who the

[00:06:41] fuck developed is. They're probably not going to have a job for very long. But um, so this is the thing, right?

[00:06:46] We've been talking about a Concord, like in the in the group chat pretty well, but now see

[00:06:53] hardcore defender and he's these these Concord strongest soldier out there fighting the fight

[00:06:59] which is a blessing. They need them. They need them. It peaked at $7607, so didn't even make it

[00:07:07] to $700 players at one point in time. So with that in mind, how much do you think this Dustborne

[00:07:14] game peaked at? It came out like a week ago now. Okay, so most people playing it at once.

[00:07:20] I've seen a lot of Dustborne advertising on like the Xbox dashboard stuff. I've clicked on it.

[00:07:24] I didn't watch the trailer or anything and I'm like, oh, this comes in the game pass just

[00:07:28] based on the art style. I'd give this a shot, but basically, like relative to Concord in that footage,

[00:07:36] we just saw this game probably has more of an audience than Concord does. So I'm saying this

[00:07:41] hit like $1500 day one. $1500 day one. You got a you got a guess JP? Uh, yeah, I'm going to do the opposite

[00:07:49] and I'm I'm going to do the prices right thing and I'm just going to go $1400 so if anything below

[00:07:55] the all-time peak was 76. Oh, no! Yeah, it. No, there's got to be an audience for this type of game.

[00:08:07] We're this type of like Wolf and Sine Young blood. I mean, well, hold on, there has to be at least

[00:08:30] coverage for the game or something like this? I didn't see any listings for dustborne. So they might

[00:08:36] have not actually pushed for a lot of early reviewers to get in there and try to make coverage for the

[00:08:40] game, which is not in silhoupe because I mean, like, I mean, to be fair, like I'm I'm pretty much

[00:08:49] I'm going to represent the normie like entire normie community here. I've never heard of this game in my life.

[00:08:57] Yeah, most of you haven't. And the way that people were in the box showcase, it was there.

[00:09:03] What was first? I think so and I'm like, oh, dustborne. That looks like something. It was just like a

[00:09:09] cinematic trailer. Well, I hear about most things by people shitting on it. Like Hankord did not

[00:09:14] know it existed through its entire development cycle until people started just absolutely shit on it.

[00:09:21] So the funny thing, I made a tweet earlier because someone was like, I want to, I think I want to go

[00:09:26] pro and Concord. And I was like, it's funny because if you go pro and Concord, you only need to be better than

[00:09:31] like 200 other people. That you're pro. If it's just a percentage base though, then he needs to be in

[00:09:39] the fourth best person at least or something like that. If we look like, you know, league legends,

[00:09:44] you have to be in the top 5% to be fully competitive and it's like if there's only 200 players,

[00:09:50] I mean, you got to be number one. There's a team based thing though, right? Oh, yeah,

[00:09:57] it's got to give you some luck. Oh, yeah, you just got to be on the best team. There's only one good team.

[00:10:04] It makes sound like like the dodgeball movie where it's just like there's just one really good

[00:10:09] as it turns out, you know, like in the whole league. I think that was the WNBA, isn't it?

[00:10:17] So whenever when we played NBA, two K would have lost. Yeah, the Aces were like an 80 and then

[00:10:25] everything else was like a 60 year or whatever. I don't know how you write the teams. Yeah. So

[00:10:30] and then Philip picked that one. I was like, oh God. All right. I'll be purple. Yes.

[00:10:36] I'll be the purple team. But he had told me that WNBA teams aren't just as good as the NBA teams.

[00:10:43] Well, no, they might be as good but they're not balanced as far as like the spending on players probably

[00:10:48] fucking with sex to me. I honestly don't rather not be a sound. This is not Friday night gamecat.

[00:10:55] We played. I don't think we played any man basketball. We only exclusively played the few

[00:11:00] basketball. That is true. But we could lay in a single three pointer. It was

[00:11:06] okay. But turns out it's not, it's awful because the game has just made that. So like the shooting

[00:11:12] is unintuitive as fuck. Back in my day you pressed a button and then they shop a ball. You

[00:11:17] need to flick the you need to laser flip on the joystick. Yeah, play the fucking controllers

[00:11:22] clitoris. It stimulated in order to get the fucking ball in with the fuck. All right. We are video games

[00:11:27] podcast. Let's talk about what games we've been playing. Naive, what games have been playing?

[00:11:32] Okay. So since I'm on vacation, I'm going a lot of games playing a lot. Just this month,

[00:11:38] I think I've beaten like 15 or 16 games. I can't remember. I've been keeping track

[00:11:43] specifically because it's been a lot this month. But so I beat Resident Evil Zero. Resident Evil Zero

[00:11:49] fucking fantastic. I always intimidated by this game because I had this memory. I saw talking about

[00:11:56] this last episode but I had this memory as a kid that I couldn't get off the train which is

[00:11:59] a very beginning of it because you have to fight a giant scorpion. And that was hard for me.

[00:12:05] But I'm so sure. No, where that fucking scorpion. Yeah, well, it doesn't because they give

[00:12:09] you a shotgun. They're like, here's a shotgun and a lot of ammo for no reason. Good luck. And

[00:12:15] I'm just, it's like, you know, you get a shotgun. You just got a shoot a lot. That's how old the

[00:12:19] bosses are in this game actually. I fucking loved this game. I, I don't remember if I said I beat

[00:12:25] it last week or not because I beat it on Sunday. So I don't, and I recorded on Sunday. So

[00:12:30] you didn't say you beat it. Okay. So the game is fantastic. I, I probably want to play Resident Evil

[00:12:37] one now because I've never beaten that one either. But I've gotten them. I've gotten the furthest in

[00:12:42] that one. I got it. I mean, this in between Resident Evil Zero and that one. So I got pretty far.

[00:12:48] Usually I get mad because I fuck something up and then I have a bad save and I'm like, oh no,

[00:12:52] I'm fucked. I'm, I'm ruined. There's a boss. I think this is a bad run. Restore. Plus the new Resident Evil,

[00:12:59] the Resident Evil remake has like the Crimson Eds which makes the games like significantly harder.

[00:13:04] So because that means you run into a fucking place where this zombie was killed and it just gets

[00:13:08] back up and it's 10 times faster and it'll fuck you up. So it's like, I don't know. Resident Evil Zero

[00:13:12] doesn't have anything like that. But I fucking loved it. I threw it in A tier. Then so Philip,

[00:13:18] this is a game that you've seen before when the past was around. So yeah, I think I remember

[00:13:23] 100 games last year. Okay. So did you like this? Because I thought it was pretty cute.

[00:13:30] I didn't realize how short it was. This game is meant to be emotional. It's meant to be

[00:13:35] tier-jirking. I was dry the whole time. I didn't feel any emotions. But this game is designed to be

[00:13:48] puzzle game. And I mean, I enjoyed it. But mostly because I kind of just liked doing the puzzles.

[00:13:55] I was wondering if you had to do any lookups? Because there was one puzzle I had to look up.

[00:13:59] And I just felt angry afterwards because of how stupid this the solve was.

[00:14:04] I think I did look something up once and it probably might have been the same puzzle. I can't

[00:14:08] remember though. There's one that's really unintuitive where it's like you got to use a leaf

[00:14:12] lower to knock over a, I don't know, a towel or something so that you can pick it up and then

[00:14:17] bring it to your dying love. It's really weird. Yeah. And only it was that. I think it was one of

[00:14:22] those things where I was making it too hard. Like I thought that, so there was a box with a bunch

[00:14:27] of numbers on it. And I was like, I think I, and then there were pictures on the back. There were

[00:14:31] numbers and notes. And so, and then the radio is playing notes. So I thought that I needed to

[00:14:39] transmogify the numbers from the pictures into the notes and then like that. And I was like,

[00:14:44] was it? Yeah. Well, there was easier than that because there was just written down somewhere

[00:14:49] I think it was on the, like a closed line. There were like the symbols here on the,

[00:14:53] I was like, oh, fuck. There they are. So I was like thinking way too hard about it. But I mean,

[00:14:59] I thought I was pretty cool. I put it at the bottom of B. So now there's something underneath

[00:15:02] golden sun. So maybe people will stop pitching, ink and blending about golden sun being at

[00:15:05] bottom of B. But then other than that, this game, bright memory, it's this indie game

[00:15:12] that I think it's an Unreal Engine 5 or I mean, if it's not then it's pretty. But it's JG as fuck,

[00:15:20] but it was made by one person. So I give it a pass and it's also only 40 minutes long.

[00:15:26] Only 30 minutes. So sure. And so it's a shooter. It's a shooter that's like 40 minutes long.

[00:15:33] You do like two boss fights. They do the dark souls, like the boss dies and then he's like,

[00:15:37] oh, I'm back. I'm alive again. Second boss fight phase. The most annoying thing about this game is

[00:15:43] that like it suffers from that syndrome of every object has hands and will grab you as you walk past.

[00:15:51] So in a first person game, that's extremely disorienting. And it wants to be doomed. So when

[00:15:57] you get caught on something, usually it just means instant death. And so and that's very annoying.

[00:16:04] So I put it in the bottom of sea because honestly it's not that good. Also the shooting sucks bad.

[00:16:09] It's made for PC. And so it's got like, it has like bullet magnetism. So when you're shooting

[00:16:15] in the general direction of an enemy, it'll hit the enemy. But like when you, I had to adjust the

[00:16:20] fucking sensitivity like seven times. And there's no acceleration. So it's either you turn slow

[00:16:25] on at a constant rate or you turn way too fast and you're missing your fucking people that you

[00:16:29] shoot in. So now I made it way too fast and just aimed by strafing, which I mean also is a

[00:16:34] tactic that you do in those boomer shooters. So it was a terrible but I mean, I put it to the bottom of

[00:16:40] sea. It would have been in a, it would have been my first detier if I didn't read that it was a

[00:16:45] one person studio. And I was like, okay, well, never mind. That's kind of me. I mean, this looks pretty

[00:16:50] good for one person. I mean, it's not pixels, which is usually how the one one person suit

[00:16:56] he was going to weigh with things. There's this fucking, there's this like cutscene, not a cutscene,

[00:17:02] but it's like a cinematic where the cameras zoom in really fast on the girl's face as she

[00:17:08] turns to look at something that happens like 20 times, which normally wouldn't be a big deal.

[00:17:13] But in a 40 minute game, like you noticed that it's happening over and over again. Yeah. It's the same

[00:17:19] fucking, like, dramatic look as something happened. As nothing dramatic happens. It's like the

[00:17:25] puzzles beating in the go, ah, play the go for there. But really, really dumb. And other than that,

[00:17:32] Mortal Kombat. I've beaten two Mortal Kombat games. Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat 10. Do you

[00:17:38] remember these games? Do you guys like Mortal Kombat at all? No, I play Soul Calibur, like the

[00:17:43] head of Mortal Kombat. I fucking love Mortal Kombat so much, so I've been playing them for Rachel,

[00:17:51] like she's been watching and so I'm shackled to her. Like I can only play when she's around. So

[00:17:56] I'm like, okay, well that's fine. The stories aren't terribly long, but this is the thing.

[00:18:00] Mortal Kombat 9. I have like rose tinted glasses for this game. I'm like, ah, I fucking love this

[00:18:04] game. It's the best. It was a great reboot. I go back to it. Dude, I understand why I only play

[00:18:10] the story mode once. And it's because the AI is fucking bullshit in this game. If literally like

[00:18:16] arcade, like Mortal Kombat 3, like they're reading your fucking moves. And so the fucking,

[00:18:22] the game's difficulty is dynamic and it's like this and all the games. So if you're kicking

[00:18:28] the shit out of the computer, the computer will start getting better. And then if you're doing

[00:18:31] worse, the computer gets worse. And it kind of happens in the middle and during the match,

[00:18:36] like so, like, you can, it could be going crazy for one second and then all of a sudden,

[00:18:40] you know, they're beating your ass. And it's supposed to make the game like intense and fun and engaging.

[00:18:45] But I think it's because I know this, so this is why I irritated this shit out of me. But like

[00:18:49] the computer just fucking reads your attacks. So the way that in Mortal Kombat 9, they get better

[00:18:55] is they literally just counter everything you do. And so if you jump, they instantly upper cut

[00:19:00] or do an air grab or do an above-pondage. If you punch, they block and instantly retaliate.

[00:19:04] And it's like, okay, this is annoying. And then you'll lose like three times in a row.

[00:19:08] And then the enemy will just walk to your walking front of you and stand there. And I'm like,

[00:19:13] well, fight. At least, like, it's like, I don't feel good at all about this. Like, I don't

[00:19:18] ever feel good about winning in Mortal Kombat 9. And also they have these double-play difficulty.

[00:19:24] It's annoying. It's not that it's difficult. But it's that it's just frustrating. It's not fun.

[00:19:31] And also the double fights are the worst thing that's ever been in Mortal Kombat.

[00:19:35] I would rather play Mortal Kombat versus DC universe like five times in a row than replay Mortal

[00:19:40] Kombat 9 just because of the double fights. Is there that bad?

[00:19:44] So Mortal Kombat 9 was at the one where you have to do the fight where Sindel kills like half

[00:19:51] of the whole cast and you have to fight them all as reverence. Yes, that's one I'm thinking of.

[00:19:56] Yeah, as right now. That was the one that fucking is like seared into my mind that I was so angry

[00:20:02] because I took me forever to fucking beat that part. It's terrible. And you have to fight

[00:20:06] Shao-Con and the way that I beat Shao-Con both times is I just jumped backwards immediately

[00:20:12] and then just spanned Luke Hanks fireball and then spammed fucking radians like thing. Like,

[00:20:18] I just did that. And I just kept doing that until the game just let me win. Because

[00:20:23] fucking Shao-Con is garbage in this fucking game. Well, because every is always not armor.

[00:20:28] It's oh, he's got the armored fucking shoulder instant charge thing and that he can also do like

[00:20:35] upward to. Yeah, it happens like that and you know, you're just like, oh yeah,

[00:20:41] I could have fucking blocked that but it happened at the speed of fucking light.

[00:20:47] I mean the way that I I ended up being, I think I just did like the Raiden teleport behind him

[00:20:53] and then uppercut and then fucking teleport behind him again and uppercut. That's what I did with

[00:20:58] Raiden. Yeah, because Raiden doesn't have a projectile. So that's what I did was teleport

[00:21:01] uppercut over and over again. Yeah. Do you had to fucking cheat? I could do I was getting

[00:21:08] a rationally angry like I got a probably as mad at that boss fight as I did like when I was playing

[00:21:14] a securo like the like securo. I think almost gave me a fucking brain aneurysm like I

[00:21:22] remember specifically as a kid. I broke a 360 control over more with on that nine and it was

[00:21:28] because of one of the towers. I think there's like an ultimate tower for an achievement

[00:21:32] and then at the very end is Shao-Con and it took me like 12 hours like just leaving the game

[00:21:39] on running overnight and like coming back and playing it for a little bit and going okay, I can't

[00:21:44] go and do something else. It took me forever. So I put it in B like right above Golden Sun

[00:21:50] because it's Mortal Kombat and then I beat Mortal Kombat 10 which goes in A tier. So look, A tier

[00:21:55] is three rows now of games. Yeah, it turns out you only play games you like. Yeah, we're surprised.

[00:22:01] Whoa, that's interesting. Yeah, so we'll see if we can look at like your seats here. A lot of

[00:22:14] this. I don't know. Like the experience. It's like a lot of warfare three bright memory. Like once

[00:22:20] three years like I'll give him a chance. Yeah, it's like I didn't. I don't mean it's so if bright

[00:22:24] memory wasn't 40 minutes long I would not have beaten it. Like I said that was going to be a

[00:22:29] D tier game until I realized it was a one person but um because I was not feeling it. I was hate

[00:22:34] him but then it just ends suddenly. It's like a you know metal gear five like ghost memory

[00:22:40] or whatever the fuck it is. You know I'm talking about like the $20 standalone thing that was

[00:22:45] like that came out like a year and a half. Yeah, it's someone knows but anyway that was a short

[00:22:51] like prequel to like metal gear five so it's like okay this is what five will be like you know

[00:22:57] I don't know. Anyway Mortal Kombat 10s and A tier. Mortal Kombat 10s great. We're back on track

[00:23:02] baby it's fucking fun again. The game is engaging again. It still does that dynamic difficulty where

[00:23:08] it's like okay I'm getting my ass beat but I'm getting my ass beat from like I thought I should

[00:23:14] had blocked that. I don't know why I was bashing towards him like a fucking moron. You know what I mean?

[00:23:18] So it's like it's getting better and I've already beaten that so now we're moved on to Mortal Kombat 11

[00:23:22] and Rachel's finally coming around and going like oh this is I could actually do kind of like

[00:23:27] this you know what I mean. The story is actually good in this fighting game. We watch the movie last

[00:23:32] night and I don't know if she liked it or not she's hard to read so time. Okay, hold on which movie we

[00:23:38] are talking about. The original one, the good one. So okay the one back in the day that's the first

[00:23:44] if you have ever I this the first thing that not video game related that I bought on the Xbox

[00:23:50] ecosystem so it's like when you go to my movie I got to go to the beginning. That's the first thing

[00:23:55] that's how important that movie is. Did you watch whatever the last Mortal Kombat movie they

[00:24:01] made is I watched a little bit of it because my mom was like hey look at this it's a movie and

[00:24:07] I was like oh yeah and I ate like a sim cereal and then I was like oh I'm done eating and I just left

[00:24:14] I don't want to do that movie that movie was fucking piss. I was very disappointed in it

[00:24:20] yeah I mean it looks good. I mean like a lot of it looks pretty good in the cinematography you know

[00:24:24] they you know it wasn't cheap to make I'm sure but you know I'm just like looking at all this stuff

[00:24:31] I'm like half of these characters look like a pass you know and then like you know and like

[00:24:36] parts of it were funny and stuff too you know but like you know they created a whole new character

[00:24:43] you know instead of just using luking and then that dude ended up being just

[00:24:47] lame as fuck yeah like a metal hoodie was as fucking super power I was like all right we could have had luking

[00:24:52] but whatever that is dude. The fucking cereal out the fucking CGI out the nose you know and

[00:25:02] just like yeah the thing people liked most about this is that one Asian dude at the beginning

[00:25:08] doing the he did some super awesome fight scenes as sub zero and it was super fucking cool

[00:25:15] and then they proceeded to just make it a giant CGI fucking mess and they didn't use the original

[00:25:20] moral combat music they only brought it in at the very end and it was like weird dubstep remix I'm like

[00:25:26] Jesus hell yeah that's what the kids was like fuck I got 10 years ago God dang but yeah I was very upset

[00:25:34] by the movie sounds like a borderlands like you know I feel like why is there not like a

[00:25:43] Mortal Kombat cartoon or something you know like I feel like a linda self better there there's

[00:25:48] that couple of them oh there it's a live a movie the animated movies

[00:27:53] Traveler two but I'm still slowly playing it and so I'm spending my time grinding on golden

[00:27:58] playing on my little game boy Dave yeah no in a I'm really enjoying it the game is good like yeah

[00:28:05] I gotta say I'm vigorously using the fast forward feature because uh I don't think I could play

[00:28:12] them because this game literally expects you to grind for like 40 hours in each area imagine if

[00:28:19] you didn't have the fast forward feature because that was my gameplay experience uh this game would

[00:28:24] be like unplayable then because I'll get really in reality the dungeons look like feel like they

[00:28:29] like I don't you should be able to reach the point I'm at in like four hours I feel like I

[00:28:34] probably put like 15 hours into this game but it's just level gated and not even just level

[00:28:40] gated is like gear gated where it's like they barely give you any money to get the gear they

[00:28:44] on the same town that you're in so it's like you have to actually go on like grind and it's

[00:28:49] very unforgiving with like player death or even just like party member death because it's in the

[00:28:56] early game it's like 300 gold to a five-on person and that's like four battles worth of gold

[00:29:02] to bring somebody back to life they accidentally die because they'll die so fast like instantly

[00:29:10] especially if you're fast forward and you don't notice because like people get too hit all the time

[00:29:15] and I'm like well I did notice that I was like I saw that was fighting in ape if for some reason

[00:29:20] the apes can do 80% of my health and one attack like the gold in apes I don't know if you remember

[00:29:24] that monster no I don't remember any of the things from this game really so you have a beaten

[00:29:30] yet like you you're still doing the no I'm still like slowly lowering the water level to go deeper into

[00:29:36] the mine i think that was the first dungeon where I got lost and confused and then i think every

[00:29:41] dungeon after that has moments where it's like oh god i don't know what to do I got a little

[00:29:46] confusing like the water temple because there's one point where you have to go through a waterfall

[00:29:51] and i just happened to be just bumping into every wall and i managed to go through the water

[00:29:55] wall and i'm like that's convenient yeah like yeah like i didn't know that that was where

[00:30:00] I needed to go but i'm glad i made it yeah there's so many parts too where it's like

[00:30:08] i have to look it up because there's a part where it's like you need to get

[00:30:11] you get you get by your way through the first dungeon to get to a tree and then the trees like

[00:30:16] i'm sick and die and then you're just doesn't know that you're supposed to go to the north

[00:30:21] most water temple to get healing juice and solve their problem so to like to solve the first

[00:30:27] dungeon you have to go solve the second dungeon then backtrack and i'm like why would they even

[00:30:33] bother to do this because and then you had to do the puzzles to get back in through the first dungeon

[00:30:38] like oh my god you have to re-mustle every puzzle and every dungeon to progress and i i'm not

[00:30:45] there for that but the combat system is great the overall art design just really well done for a

[00:30:50] game boy game and the the gameplay is good because i've played a lot of retro games and a lot of the

[00:30:59] GRBGs PS1 even like PS1 level where they just do they're not great and this is like

[00:31:07] game boy advance so i'm surprised with how well tuned this game is even though there's still a

[00:31:14] jank have you seen any of the tier 4 summons yet? No don't think so i've only gotten

[00:31:19] a four of the little cats or the the summon cats yeah so whenever you get whenever you have four set

[00:31:26] make sure you're taking them off of the people so that you in order so that i didn't understand

[00:31:33] this until like the last third of the game but like whenever they're set to them you can't use

[00:31:38] them for summons but you can use them off of them they haven't effect right so it's won't be like

[00:31:44] oh you'll ever one or whatever and whenever you use that they go on cooldown and then they're set

[00:31:49] right and whenever they're set and not equipped anyone they can be used into summons actual summons

[00:31:55] so what i did in the land game is i just take everyone off of everyone and then i would have like

[00:32:01] seven of each number and i would tier four immediately on every fight and then tier three

[00:32:08] the second time that there's still a lot and then usually that got me through every fight until i

[00:32:13] got to the last few bosses and then i had to do like a fucking rewind over and over again trying

[00:32:18] to keep my pick up party alive and shit but make sure you're doing that game is good yeah i'll

[00:32:24] get into it because like it is annoying only having two buttons as your main interface because it's

[00:32:29] like a is how you open your menu and b is a different menu or something like that and it's like

[00:32:36] two buttons isn't enough and then start is just like another menu so it's it's not oh b is run

[00:34:18] and the shit on these skeletons but as you're playing you get just sucked into like basically a

[00:34:23] silent hill realm i got the shotgun i didn't it wasn't even thinking about them like thing like hell yeah

[00:34:28] let's go beat some ass is like the next room after giving you the shotgun in some ammo you instantly get

[00:34:33] jumped by like five skeletons as they grab you and rip you into silent hill it was holy

[00:34:39] and they just like bow bow you're just like going to town with the shotgun it was an actual scary

[00:34:43] moment because this is like the first time that you get forcefully pulled into the horror area like

[00:34:50] every other point it makes a big to do about you like opening a gate to the silent hill realm

[00:34:55] they're like to the world beneath or the upside down whatever the the other worlds are another region

[00:35:01] whatever it is in mortal combat like so for them to like just pull this shit on you it was

[00:35:09] it was really impressive this game is actually good despite it being double a as hell

[00:35:13] because there's been multiple parts where i do a Dark Souls' Dodge role hit a barrel at the

[00:35:19] perfect angle so my character lands like on top of the barrel and you can't jump so then i just

[00:35:24] have to waggle my character to eventually like falls off the barrel i've been stuck on the terrain

[00:35:28] multiple times in different areas yeah there's a lot of jank in this game but it's also very well done

[00:35:35] for what it is uh this is a recommend for me i'm a finish yet but i see that there's like two

[00:35:41] different story modes where even when your plane is like of detective and the one you're playing as

[00:35:46] like a lady reporter i think or something like that and the whole thing yeah i don't think the

[00:35:54] portality does combat meanwhile like the the detective he is just in a constant like fighting for his life

[00:36:01] under your bed bumping yeah he's like fighting for his life and you bump back into the lady or whatever

[00:36:06] and you're like bloody or something like at one point you're like you're in a flashback of your own

[00:36:11] pass where you're drowning in the lousy and a buy you and then it cuts to you're actually in

[00:36:17] in a bathtub inside the mansion and she pulls you out of the bathtub and she's like detective what are

[00:36:22] doing and he's like oh my god and she's like what are you doing in the bathtub take it a

[00:36:30] bath what are you doing there's one part where like you're like using your like talisman to open

[00:36:35] see her doorways and you're like i open the portal and the closet and then you're like do you

[00:36:41] see this and she's like there's nothing there and you're like no lady there's a portal to like

[00:36:46] another realm in the closet and she's like detective i don't have time for this and then you're

[00:36:51] because you're having like psychotic episodes constantly go see all these different things

[00:36:55] going crazy yourself and oh she's like the old it's so funny because she's just like whatever

[00:37:01] just he was got to do and he's like alright i'm sorry uh see you later and then he closes the door

[00:37:05] into the closet there's like a closet like a chest of drawers for like an arm-warr and he just

[00:37:10] claims into a narnia style and then you just don't see her for a couple hours and then you just come

[00:37:16] back to her and she's like where'd you go and she said i won't believe this i was in Egypt

[00:37:22] in narla hat the teps too the the dark sun is rising and then she's like i just want to find my

[00:37:29] uncle like it's a very silly game i i borrowed it from the library i wasn't expecting it to be

[00:37:35] this good but i think i might have to play through it to get her side of the story where she just

[00:37:41] keeps bumping into this detective who's by the way you're healing item is whiskey you just

[00:37:47] like after you get fucked up by these you know brain rotting skeletons you pull out a whiskey

[00:37:52] and chucked it to get your health back and so you're constantly drinking too and every time

[00:37:57] you bump into like NPCs they're like detective how about a a topper and then they for you like a

[00:38:02] martini or whatever and then kind of even you meet like the head psychiatrist he's like kind of

[00:38:08] offer you a brandy and the deck was like giving the cheapest you got of course of course it's great

[01:26:25] Capcom hits I can Capcom at the couch co-op hits the hits and I thought it was fucking awesome

[01:26:34] it was great never actually bought the game so I remember owning the first one or anything I

[01:26:39] owned I think I borrowed it from neighbor something and I never finished it because it was weirdly

[01:26:43] hard and I was bad at games but it also didn't help that like they went a little overboard

[01:26:50] with the stumble thing monsters with like a smack the ground and you're doing to be like

[01:27:38] when you're talking about shooters and just you and you and player two bugging going through the campaign

[01:27:44] of something it's probably halo or gears something else that's first person shooter

[01:27:49] unless obviously gears work but yeah this one was a little different because it was like

[01:27:56] you would go between shooting like you know humanoid enemies and then it would be like

[01:28:01] oh there's big freaking monsters! Accurate! You put monster and then a 60 foot monster and then

[01:28:06] there's a train level and then there's a giant hundred foot long towed monster boss that

[01:28:14] there's a giraffe that fires laser beams it's just like the level design was freaking all over

[01:28:20] the place man it just bosses pop in I don't know where it's like all right guess we're doing

[01:28:24] a big monster boss now. Hey freaking sections! So I played I played lost plan at one and it was my

[01:28:33] least favorite of the original games like off of 360 I got the 360 like a little after halo

[01:28:38] three came out so I'd halo three gears of war will one and lost plan it so I thought that was

[01:28:46] you can see why it was my least favorite of those three yeah so I just darkened there

[01:28:51] no I mean I don't know I still have the receipt the original game stop receipt

[01:28:55] of those buying those three games buying those two in pre-ordering halo three and not having

[01:32:21] and you don't know they're there until they shoot a rocket at you then when you get hit with it

[01:32:25] you get launched off the side of the fucking train so uh that's a really annoying segment to play

[01:32:31] oh yeah which that is another moment because uh at the end of that section you have to jump

[01:40:25] to you're talking about the one that's like he's just like a big kind of like he's very big frog

[01:40:30] with a lot of legs and shoot him in the knees he falls down and he goes bland six is talking

[01:40:35] out and then you can grapple hook down his throat and then like shoot his insides up and then he

[01:40:40] poops you out of the end yeah it's that I really like that boss fight yeah it's a lot of fights pretty

[01:40:47] pizza can help us with that one he also wants you from getting the pot out of it sounds me i was

[01:40:52] blocking the knife yeah i was a legitimately angry i don't know if you can tell if i'm right

[01:40:58] it's on my voice i was really bad in this game the bosses drop crates at the end of the fight

[01:41:03] they can go pick up to get like resources to get collectibles at the end get a little name plates and

[01:41:07] stuff anyways they are client specific so each person can pick up any box let me

[01:41:14] make him pick up the same box so name is going to pick up all these boxes i'm in a huge

[01:41:18] neck and i go to the pick up the boxes before him and he's not able to move in front like i just

[01:41:23] push him away from all the boxes because i'm picking up from the other direction so i get all the

[01:41:28] boxes and they was just getting pushed away from all the boxes because i'm going to the work

[01:41:35] of that boss fight just for nip like it matters like you really care about the character

[01:41:39] customization of loss plan it to hey well you also can get new guns with those boxes

[01:41:46] for you know the next time you play loss plan it do you have for next time i'll have

[01:41:50] all look forward to that where i can use all the gear i got i make i make mirrocious dead play

[01:41:55] loss plan it to every time he comes down here it's like such a psycho move from the beginning

[01:42:01] yeah i don't even start with the good levels oh no the first levels are so bad we got to

[01:42:27] doesn't do split screen just like top half player one bottom half player two or even

[01:42:36] the player one screen is slightly larger and in the top left corner and player two is in

[01:42:42] the bottom right hand corner and they just put like a mini map in between the little space

[01:42:47] I think the mini map that is about the size of your actual player screen it's bad it's

[01:42:55] it's the worst split screen i think i've ever seen and we were playing on like 24 inch screens

[01:43:01] grown-up CRTs so it's like we were playing on like a rwix cube of a screen you had like

[01:43:07] yeah like three four inches across your actual like what you were actually looking at tops

[01:44:21] joined in but since we were doing that again i was like oh god it's this again all right

[01:45:28] doesn't seem very lost anymore it's pretty populated actually a lot of people found it all over

[01:45:33] the place yeah but think you found the planet okay all right so the strain the whole premise is

[01:45:42] we are trying to stop the carpet baggers who are the Chinese people i think uh from taking a gun

[01:45:52] and attacking a fortress or something i don't remember exactly why okay well because the setup is

[01:45:58] extremely important for this mission uh now you're just on a train there's a stall and you

[01:46:04] fucking roll up next to the carpet bagger trade and you're like man that train is so much better

[01:46:10] than oh her you're so you're on your train and you're like oh man we only got five days

[01:46:15] worth of fuel and it's a 13 hour drive back or whatever i'm so hungry and we were all fucked up

[01:46:21] from stealing the strain and then you get attacked by a giant sandworm it eats your train

[01:46:27] you get on a helicopter due in like the dude in sandworms like that's what this is ripped off of

[01:46:34] maybe it's been a bit of a little legies in the front the other run yeah so it's not it's not a

[01:46:39] little leger it's like a crab yeah big crab energy anyways i don't have energy it's not

[01:48:08] returns and we're like oh no luckily this has a giant gun on this train we're going to use

[01:48:18] super huge has shells that are bigger than a person well i mean that's not that extreme we have

[01:48:24] that real life but i mean like it has giant shells that you can pick up and carry first off you just

[01:48:30] pick them up these shells are so big you take you have to pick them up because they're all

[01:48:37] like the back and tear also just the mechanics of loading this as someone that's been around

[01:48:42] tanks like i mean i've been around tanks but jpg you've been around tanks right yeah

[01:48:48] well considering the loading mechanisms on this train how does it shape up to an actual tank

[01:48:55] all right so i don't think it's super crosswise applicable between tanks and this

[01:49:02] fucking railway gun i think it's more of an artillery piece okay but i mean it seems to follow the

[01:49:09] that you know the state of procedures of loading a giant fucking gun it's like you drop it into the

[01:49:15] breach and then it moves forward uh you know you know it's multiple like well uh

[01:49:21] loading plenty okay so shoot in this fucking thing is like a five step process like

[01:49:25] the first time you play this mission you're not going to have fun because you're going to have no

[01:49:30] way to go what you're doing it's a fun process i think it's because Philip new one here is doing

[01:49:35] so like if you know what you're doing on this part it is the most fun fucking boss fight

[01:49:41] ever because the gun points forward or it can move 90 degrees at a time and uh so there's a

[01:49:49] person that you know to shoot the gun you have to sit in a seat and shoot it uh if you want to turn

[01:49:55] the gun 90 degrees you have to go over to the side of it and press a button and it'll turn

[01:49:59] the gun very inefficient you why would it output the button in the the driver's seat like whoever's

[01:50:04] aiming it can just be like master master master master and they will quick turn it doesn't

[01:50:08] make sense why they would design it that way except I think a wall play well so it's a touch to

[01:50:14] a big steam because every time you push it goes like pushes off a bunch of steam and there's a

[01:50:19] cooldown on your turning it again so it's like it's not button well i know it's the button

[01:50:24] it's just the buttons on the machine it's not on like the wires exist in this universe like

[01:50:31] so like mechanically speaking this boss fight is basically the worm gives you a signal on which

[01:50:39] side it's gonna attack you from and you have a certain amount of time to get the gun oriented in

[01:50:44] that direction and fire it into the mouth of the worm or else the train will take damage and if

[01:50:50] the train takes damage you can go below and repair it so there's like uh this is a lot easier when

[01:50:58] you have more people because there's a lot of jobs that need to be done you need to orient the gun

[01:51:02] you need to load the gun you need to fire the gun oh there's another stuff also you got to

[01:51:07] pry them each bullet do you have to promise you don't I think that just does you don't

[01:51:13] don't promise you can't promise you can't promise you can't promise you can't promise you can't

[01:51:15] okay and then you get a more damage or loads faster i don't know but like yeah so one thing i

[01:51:19] want to talk about that that's like fucking super efficient is why so for the okay giant gun

[01:51:25] the bullets bigger than human being basically and then they keep them three stories below

[01:51:35] there's no later there is an elevator but it only works if you're in the home orientation

[01:51:40] looking directly forward you can press a button it will reach a crane down and grab a shell and pull

[01:51:46] it up and auto load it for you but we were never in the home orientation action uses loader

[01:51:52] pointing perfectly straight forward or else the crane won't grab another shell from behind but I know

[01:52:00] one thing that totally invalidates the gun besides shooting in the mouth and i think you need

[01:52:05] the big gun to blow like pieces of its body off there are two like AA guns on each side

[01:52:11] there's a AA gun on each side of the train yeah so at the very end when it had like four HP

[01:52:16] left i was repairing the train and i looked over and i was like what is that and i covered

[01:52:21] an interactive and it's an AA gun i was like oh and i just shoot it to death and kill the boss

[01:52:26] with that eight little tiny gun i was like oh yeah to use the big gun to break open the armor so

[01:52:31] you can do damage with i guess little guns even though i usually use the big gun to kill at

[01:52:35] every time yeah like once you know like what you're doing like how the flow of that fight goes

[01:52:41] you can fuck it up like really fast but yeah there's like the little AA guns on the side which

[01:52:46] can do damage to it because the worm will come up beside you and like fucking hangout there for

[01:52:52] some stupid reason and then you can shoot the side of it and do damage and stuff and but yeah

[01:52:59] just it's it's an example of like i really wish uh i don't know i could i could do an entire game

[01:53:06] of like weird scenario levels like that where it's like you've got a team of people

[01:53:11] and they each need to do things to do damage to the boss you know it feels like a shooter of

[01:53:17] overcooked almost or something like that it's like everyone needs to be doing a job to make it

[01:53:23] the mission come true whatever this is what's weird with like i just want to highlight this

[01:53:29] one level in particular in this game i don't even really care about the rest of the game

[01:53:32] but this level i love so much because it's a great co-op experience like technically one person can

[01:53:38] do everything it's gonna suck and you're gonna take a few hits but the way this level's designed

[01:53:45] i wish other games like you said did this as well and i'm trying to think of like another game

[01:53:50] that even tries just something like this this is what i imagine when you're playing like

[01:53:54] we were playing a halo three and driving the elephant surround sand trap like this is what it's like

[01:53:59] hell yeah there's squad one really the elephant suck ass but yeah i don't know like i was

[01:54:06] driving the ward hoax around a halo and just having a garner like that's so cool like co-operatively

[01:54:12] winning through your like team play of each doing your own job it's so weird that this is not

[01:54:19] something that you see in modern gaming but like i get that it's hard to find like a group of people

[01:54:23] but with how all line everything is all the time it's definitely like it should be easy to

[01:54:29] i don't like it's weird that there's not more games like this yeah it's it's not a terribly

[01:54:36] complex concept it's like hey you have a really big gun you need to load it and name it

[01:54:42] that's it it's not fucking complicated and yet this is a freaking i don't know 15 year old

[01:57:42] these snipers Winston kill you oh yeah it's very fun blow your head off and oh you just a desert

[01:57:47] mission where you're in the all due in that little village yeah we were I want into a place

[01:57:53] and just like it's still like three bullets into my body and i'm okay and then after after

[01:58:00] you get done with the Vietnam sniper alley two fucking acreed the drafts show up and they're the

[01:58:07] worst fucking yeah it's terrible that whole segment is awful also like those weird ones like

[01:58:13] they don't trigger until you actually walk over to them so they're like up on the ledge and me

[01:58:16] and they've like why can't we hurt them it's like oh yeah to walk closer and and they do the

[01:58:22] little like so in our thing yeah it's not moving like you have to stop moving and then they just

[01:58:26] laser you anyway yeah yeah that whole segment was pretty yes yes yeah but turns are annoying as well

[01:58:38] yeah turns on great shield enemies are also really dumb is like what do we just made an

[01:58:43] enemy that you can't shoot and they just slowly walk towards you like all right that sucks

[01:58:48] yeah if you don't have anything else for them to look at you're just kind of fucked

[01:58:56] playing tripping to which by the way JP you need to plug and play that game please for the

[02:00:31] mission where you're fighting the other like landscape and you have the big cannon thing make

[02:00:44] your cannon like it's one or the other one of your cannons is gonna be because it takes like

[02:00:48] 30 seconds for it to charge up so you have to make sure you do it first or else you're going to

[02:00:54] be stuck with your cannon out the entire mission just just just pro tips yeah for someone who's playing

[02:01:00] the game six times probably more like fucking 10 because I make Richard play kind of the

[02:01:09] just terrible Capcom experiences like I'm gonna make you watch me do a full play of Dead Rising

[02:02:24] like uh I love indie trash if there's an indie trash game that was just about operating vehicles

[02:02:29] or something with friends I would do that I know there's a game called lovers and a dangerous

[02:02:34] space time that is you flying a spaceship with your friends and I really want to play that with

[02:02:42] some point but I don't know if it actually has online play in my uh yeah I love call of experiences

[02:02:48] which is why we do this show so this is a recommend I paid $5 for this I honestly would pay up to 10
