[00:01:18] something stupid. I remember we tried using real drumsticks once and we were like we cannot

[00:01:23] use real drumsticks on the rock band drums. Yeah they're really heavy. The problem with it

[00:01:28] is that like the rock band drums just don't have any rebound. It's like fighting in Dragon Ball Z

[00:01:34] with weighted clothes. Yeah you gotta have the weighted sweat bands but once again bringing

[00:02:18] But a lot has changed since you've been gone including the formation. Yeah actually a lot

[00:02:24] has changed at least on his side of the fence and partially our side of the fence that intersects

[00:03:39] 64 who does Nintendo 64 stuff all of Bill's shit uh there's just no bill elder trolls yeah just

[00:04:12] but basically everyone in there has been on our show except Tommy uh who isn't real as far as

[00:04:18] i'm concerned like until he's on this show he's not real well have to make that happen

[00:04:23] sometime even if it's got to be from his car we'll have him drive around the block for

[00:04:26] two and a half hours straight listen to Dave talk about rock band drums and like

[00:04:32] get a drive to iowa or something iowa or even worse oklahoma disgusting i don't know about that

[00:04:38] man oh i uh i was pretty fucking gross we had the span of like a week or two weeks where it

[00:04:44] would just non-stop rain and have like heavy wind and uh our power was once out for like

[00:04:50] eight hours and that was cool getting that oklahoma experience is that what usually happens

[00:04:54] in oklahoma oh yeah oh man nave shared a stupid video dude the wind is insane oh okay nate what

[00:05:01] was that video that you shared it was like two days in more oklahoma or something it's like

[00:05:05] a 40 minute long documentary covering the history of oklahoma leading up to the more

[00:05:11] disasters and it's so funny because the first five minutes is like oklahoma indian curse race

[00:05:19] crimes like it's just going through like and i'm like oh my god and it's like hated by god

[00:05:25] yes for real you and you're like this is exaggeration right and then you see this

[00:05:31] like this it's the map of oklahoma and then there are lines where tornadoes have hit

[00:05:35] and we are punished dude we are punished over here apparently oklahoma gets hit by the most

[00:05:41] tornadoes in the world yeah really like any area yeah like and i'm like i did not i didn't

[00:05:46] know that like i didn't know that it's because we are we are literally in the spot where three

[00:05:53] different like masses of temperatures collide like literally the temperature from the ocean

[00:05:58] below us the temperature from the ocean to the left of us and then the temperature from

[00:06:03] the north pole are all slamming into each other above oklahoma it's insane and the worst

[00:06:08] part is it's like the center of oklahoma is like where i live is like the worst of the

[00:06:14] worst and so but like more oklahoma which is basically where i live um that's where i do my

[00:06:21] my mail route and everything it's uh it's the it was hit by the strongest tornado in the world

[00:06:27] and it is a tornado so strong that it changed how we categorize tornadoes so it was hit by the

[00:06:33] very last f5 tornado and then they they changed the scale to ef so then it was now hit by

[00:06:41] dragon ball super well that's the thing is that it was also hit by the last ef 5 tornado so

[00:06:50] that's like f5 just keep adding qualifiers onto it like look oh yeah and they even said like

[00:06:56] yeah five our equipment only goes up to you know so many miles per hour of wind or whatever

[00:07:03] and so it was maxed out we don't know how fast the wind was going but it maxed out all

[00:07:07] our systems so it's it's up there like we never thought the wind would go this fast

[00:07:13] apparently uh apparently what is it uh mississippi texas and alabama get the most tornadoes and

[00:07:20] it's like respectively like mississippi has had 117 from uh 2019 to 2023 they've had

[00:07:30] about 117 tornadoes holy shit rip mississippi dude well it's like the the number's fine

[00:07:37] it's usually just the bad ones that are the problem right that's that's true yeah that's

[00:07:41] true you could have like a bunch of tiny ones but it just takes one fucking yeah ma jian bu

[00:07:48] size tornado no one cares about the earthquakes in japan until it causes a tsunami that causes a

[00:07:53] reactor meltdown and then all of a sudden it's a big deal you know that's true yeah it's

[00:07:59] crazy because like oklahoma gets everything like we get the tornadoes but we also like if or if

[00:08:05] a hurricane comes up from the gulf we'll get the hurricane too we're gonna just be a tropical

[00:08:09] storm that gets us but we also get earthquakes we get everything dude it's fucking terrible

[00:08:14] you know that's what caused me to move out of oklahoma city was that my apartment siding

[00:08:18] got ripped off and water was just like coming in the walls there's an earthquake no it was a

[00:08:24] tornado and then from they were like we can't live here and then we moved back to macalester

[00:08:29] this is uninhabitable pretty much yeah and i'm like man because we took shelter and we just left

[00:08:36] the cats in the apartment so i really hope the cats do not get sucked out as we watch on our

[00:08:42] phones and see that uh the tornado is going over our apartments yeah pretty much four cats

[00:08:49] they'll have another feet yeah that's true they've got they've got eight more lives

[00:08:53] because they have nine lives right yeah they've got eight more yeah yeah you don't know how

[00:08:56] many lives they've used up already depending on how many times they go throughout throughout

[00:09:00] the entire fucking cyclone or whatever the fuck we're talking about like a spin cycle yeah well

[00:09:09] about deep rock galactic but before we get there let's just check in with what games we

[00:09:14] have been playing naev what games have you been playing oh and what i got one of those mega

[00:09:18] monsters with the spin up twist off cap and it's gonna save it for later it's gonna make

[00:09:22] a noise okay they probably didn't pick up but it sounded really good um i made progress in

[00:09:31] actually i beat three games this week now that i'm looking at it and i haven't played anything

[00:09:35] else uh i beat hellblade 2 philip yeah holy shit this game looks good well that's just

[00:09:44] hitting av is before you get super into it we're planning on doing a better off playing

[00:09:48] solo which working title next week covering hellblade 2 right yes we call it a better off

[00:09:55] playing solo i just don't want to title it that because what about just gaming solo

[00:09:59] but no i mean the title i'm just gonna go episode 50 159 i'm not gonna say anything else

[00:10:05] because the titles get really long and listening together is fine because i don't put a stupid

[00:10:12] thing at the back of it like i don't have a little fucking title on it so it just says

[00:10:17] listening together fallout 3 you know what i mean which would be a good one i saw license

[00:10:23] songs and fallout 3 though yeah it is all licensed well that's the problem with everything

[00:10:28] our fucking last one yeah our last of us ones like banned in 80 countries and youtube

[00:10:34] because really licensing yeah that's bullshit well blame neil druchman i uh beat so so i

[00:10:42] beat hellblade 2 i went straight into ghostwire tokyo because i was like i was i'm on chapter

[00:10:47] three i could probably get through it chapter three and chapter four ghostwire are insanely

[00:10:52] long it's like 80 percent of the game that's what the chapter is yeah yeah so chapter one

[00:10:57] and two and four and six are like 30 minutes long each so it's like always with a boss

[00:11:02] fight yeah literally chapter five uh chapter five is uh just a walking sim like you just

[00:11:10] walking through memories that's it no holdings so i was like man this is gonna take forever

[00:11:15] like to get through because i want chapter four i'm like man i got so much game left and then

[00:11:18] the game was just over suddenly i was like oh shit okay that's cool uh it was fine and um

[00:11:26] how about that ending though sayonara kk am i right it actually made me sad like i was

[00:11:32] like too i felt no emotion and then suddenly i was sad like that that made me sad i was

[00:11:37] like man that's because it's like it's a rip roaring like spooky adventure in japan for most

[00:11:42] of the game and then you get to the end and you're like oh these are supposed to be actual

[00:11:46] people with feelings and family connections and stuff and death it's the fallout thing where

[00:11:52] it's like you're looking for your son the whole time and then or your dad like whatever

[00:11:57] fall again but like the whole time you're just fucking around partying with your adroges

[00:12:01] for like 80 80 hours and then you go it's like i don't know it's the free roaming that

[00:12:06] fucks everything up free roaming every game literally yeah fucks the pacing up in every game

[00:12:11] uh so i got to a ghost wire it was like 11 20 and i was like i got like 30 minutes to burn

[00:12:17] so i'm gonna play something small i throw on we love katamari and i'm on this mission it's

[00:12:22] like there's a dog and he's like oh i want you to roll up the stars the universe like

[00:12:25] oh okay cool i'll do that and then that's the last mission that sounds like oh yeah i beat

[00:12:31] we heart katamari reroll as well like just on accident i didn't know i was so close to the end

[00:12:38] that's just a game that i've been slowly doing just a victory lap because i actually struggle

[00:12:42] with some of the levels some levels are a little hard yeah the last level is victory

[00:12:47] there's no time limit but the only the only thing i think is that you have to have

[00:12:51] beaten enough of the levels so that you have enough mass to roll the sun up big enough stars

[00:12:56] yeah yeah so um i did it so happened i guess so but yeah so we got my little tier list up here

[00:13:04] my bad boy tier list um as far as things that have moved around i think i don't know if i

[00:13:10] mentioned but i moved uh the miracle snack shop visual novel down to c so so now final fantasy

[00:13:19] 10 is a little bit higher i guess um snack shop yeah it's just a visual novel it is very adorable

[00:13:26] the um the games i beat helpfully too i threw that into a tier uh up high yep right below

[00:13:34] syonara wild host uh hearts and then above final season of the walking dead and then we

[00:13:41] heart katamari is also an a which it's between vanquish and unicorn overlord mid-a

[00:13:47] yeah i see that yeah mid-a and then i wanted to meme and put it at top of s but i want my tier

[00:13:52] list to be taken seriously and then ghostwire is at the top of b but behind hotline miami too

[00:13:59] yeah i kind of see that like it's weird because ghostwire has like s or an a like visuals and

[00:14:06] aesthetic but then like d combat yeah the combat is just not it like it was it was it was

[00:14:13] never fun like not even like right away like you're you're it's like okay i get it uh i hope

[00:14:19] this gets better and then it never does it's just the same thing did this for me to bioshock

[00:14:24] though because i i don't like the combat in bioshock oh man yeah i mean i would i would

[00:14:32] i wouldn't say it's great but um i like the i like having the plasmid thing like it adds a

[00:14:39] lot of stuff to the game but these are cool and interacting with the environment is cool like

[00:14:43] setting things on fire exploding things electric in the water and all that stuff cool tech demo

[00:14:48] but like is it really fun to fight things if anything i i would want to avoid fighting most

[00:14:56] things i think that games have done better like since and even before i mean it's not like halo

[00:15:02] like halos great but it's like of course i think that if the fighting was really really

[00:15:06] fun in bioshock you'd probably distract from everything else you know what i mean yeah yeah and

[00:15:13] i don't know it might make the game the best game ever but also it's like i don't know what

[00:15:17] the fuck happens in doom eternal when i go play doom eternal i go into a zen state like i i

[00:15:22] forget everything else just you know hell bad uh doom slayer good save humanity mars question mark

[00:15:30] hell well speak all that was in the moon i can't remember i'm pretty sure it's supposed to be

[00:15:37] mars i thought i was mars i think it's mars yeah there's something to do with the moon

[00:15:44] but at the end of the first game you blow a hole in and mark the moon oh mars okay with

[00:15:49] a giant bfg gun which i don't even know why anyone built why did why did we build that

[00:15:55] yeah to prepare for when mars hell gate yeah giant bfg aimed at mars um yeah all this kind

[00:16:04] of describes a game you're playing philip yeah so to go right into my games that i've been playing

[00:16:09] uh right at the top hellblade 2 i started up about an hour in i even put a little

[00:16:14] little little picture uh in there whatever says you are cursed uh of me playing as

[00:16:22] i forgot her name he was walking around so far it's in the title senua yeah whatever game not fun

[00:16:29] in the first hour uh i'm not sure if this is going to turn fun like we're talking about

[00:16:34] fun to play this game does not feel fun to play so far i'm not saying nothing okay well

[00:16:42] we'll talk about it more in our final review but right now i care for the first octopath

[00:16:47] if that if that says anything at all about octopath 2 oh we haven't gone to octopatry

[00:16:51] this is hellblade oh shit my bad whoops a very similar game but do you want to path to uh

[00:16:58] been playing the crap out of that i think i'm like 40 something hours in and i'm working on

[00:17:02] getting my last path or of my eight and the game's good uh i played like you know five

[00:17:10] hours of the first game and bounced off of it but the second one man it's like they actually

[00:17:15] tried like i don't know what's different but i'm really enjoying the second one also playing

[00:17:20] in japanese they know what they're doing the second time around probably and then i'm also

[00:17:26] whenever i'm not playing you know octopath traveler 2 or whatever i'm playing 40k bolt gun

[00:17:30] which uh is the retro shooter based in the 40k universe i'm not sure who developed it

[00:17:36] but it's good it's not great though because it suffers from like the old doom problem um

[00:17:42] i don't know where the fuck i'm supposed to go after oh dude yeah like i literally put

[00:17:48] it down because of that like i'm like halfway through it and i got lost every level every level

[00:17:53] and right now i'm on one where it's like you have to go through a uh like do you remember the

[00:17:58] psychic gym in pokemon gen 1 where you have to go through portals and it drops you in

[00:18:03] different rooms they have that puzzle in this first person shooter and i cannot be bothered

[00:18:09] to solve this and it's just so annoying because you're getting attacked by flying

[00:18:13] enemies the whole time because of course they're flying enemies so they can get to each little

[00:18:18] walkway because your walkways instead of rooms of just going through these portals i hate it

[00:18:23] i honestly don't know if i'm gonna finish this game but i know i'm over halfway through it

[00:18:27] so maybe i think and also i finished another playthrough of resident evil 3

[00:18:33] and nice my my end time to i was hoping to at least get like b or a rank but you need

[00:18:39] to get uh under four hours for that i got four hours in one minute and i was so mad because

[00:18:48] there was even a part whenever i completely goofed a backtrack and i'm like wait hold on

[00:18:52] i don't need to go back here and i just saved so i'm like i could revert the save and get

[00:18:57] like three minutes back if i wanted to because i knew because i was trying for the time but i'm

[00:19:02] like ah no it will matter i'll just walk and i walked and it mattered and i was very angry

[00:19:08] fuck were you not saving in different spots you could still go back right

[00:19:15] no or you save up one slot yeah just save on one or one slaughter no it is literally resident evil

[00:19:22] that taught me to do that oh my god the game is so short it was resident evil that taught me

[00:19:28] to do that because i got fucked because i didn't have enough ammo and i went to a boss fight and

[00:19:32] i only had one save so i was like i have to replay this whole game now because there's

[00:19:36] not enough ammo to fight this boss this is like the new era of resident evil where like the boss

[00:19:40] arenas have all the ammo you could possibly need not to mention this is resident evil 3

[00:19:45] which every boss is a gimmick boss where you don't actually have to you know fight the boss

[00:19:50] you just shoot exploding barrels when they walk next to them which makes me kind of annoyed

[00:19:54] why resident evil 2 is just the better better version of resident evil 3 oh god re2 is so

[00:20:00] good i'm glad you played them in the order you did because you really liked resident evil

[00:20:04] 3 and so when i play resident evil 3 now it's like so tainted by resident evil 2

[00:20:11] it's funny because resident evil 3 could just be a mercenaries mode of reasonable 2 is what

[00:20:16] it feels like without short it is and that's almost how i treat it with like it's just a

[00:20:19] running gun experience i played in japanese this time uh last time my first time was english

[00:20:24] uh still i beat my time but still not enough but i did unlock more infinite ammo guns so i

[00:20:31] could probably play through it again i didn't i didn't lock anything my first time because i

[00:20:34] was bad at the game the first time i played it uh but i put that top of a rank above bloodstained

[00:20:40] and trials of mana but did not break into s rank okay good game at the end of every month

[00:20:45] i'm throwing my tier list up into our instagram just for something to post i guess i don't know

[00:20:51] i'm bored and um i also i'm keeping track i'm like okay i guess i'll just keep track of

[00:20:56] what changed in the tier list because i could literally go eight posts back and see the other

[00:21:00] tier list from last time i post and i beat 11 games last month well see that's just the name

[00:21:07] you have a massive backlog of games if you could just organize them and possibly go down them in

[00:21:13] a checklist checklist type manner you could probably wipe out a large portion of your

[00:21:18] collection yeah maybe you could probably go get a whole bunch of really really short games too

[00:21:22] like uh if you fucking want to you can buy the switch online shit that has like gameboy

[00:21:28] games and you can play kirby the first kirby game it'll take you 30 minutes 35 minutes even

[00:21:34] and you just blast through that throw that on there too why not ava has watched me play

[00:21:38] through all of the first kirby game i did watch him play and then i went on a podcast

[00:21:42] to talk about it in philip's stead because half of the time we're talking about how it feels

[00:21:51] to play it up like i don't want many just phone them in you're like hey hey phil how

[00:21:54] did it feel to play kirby and philis is like he controlled like shit on the gva dpad like

[00:22:02] i was using a usb controller and it worked pretty good hell yeah all right but that

[00:22:10] is all the games i've been playing aron what have you been playing i say right as you go

[00:22:14] to take a drink no i i poorly timed that drink as well too um yeah i've been trying

[00:22:21] to blast through unicorn overlord because i naeve says it's really good i think there was somebody

[00:22:28] else in our uh goof troop that said it was good but uh gave that a shot because i'm a big

[00:22:33] fucking stinky simp for strategy rpgs and uh it's it's awesome it's it's really fucking good it's

[00:22:41] uh the characters aren't very cool like i feel like you just the game throws like handfuls

[00:22:49] and like dozens of characters at you all the time and then there's just like eight

[00:22:52] million characters you can just pay to recruit so that's characters aren't really all that great

[00:22:57] but the combat's cool and uh been playing through metroid fusion because i've never beaten it and i

[00:23:04] thought hey it'll only take me like i guess five hours i think so yeah metroid fusion and

[00:23:10] unicorn overlord and i can't think of anything else i've been playing recently

[00:23:14] so i wanted to talk to you about this metroid fusion game yeah so it was once again uh we've

[00:23:21] talked about him a lot you are probably my closest soul partner as far as emulation and

[00:23:27] retro gaming goes that actually takes part so it wasn't until you started talking to me

[00:23:35] about the retro achievements that i started looking at my little crappy game boy thing that

[00:23:39] i talk about every week i watch a lot of videos yeah yeah perfect so does that one have wi-fi

[00:23:47] connectivity yeah okay see that's just it is like i want to collect retro achievements and

[00:23:52] this is actually making me like ache my little game boy because it does not have a wi-fi card

[00:23:56] in it or adapter so i can't update my achievement list whenever i play it and so

[00:24:02] then like oh man i only want to play games on my xbox because i have it you know in developer

[00:24:08] mode for retro arc and so i was like oh man i want to play that there but it turns out a lot of

[00:24:15] the games i want to play which are like psp japanese games stuff like that they don't have

[00:24:19] supported achievements because it's the japanese version and they get the achievements by reading

[00:24:24] like the ram of the emulated game to know what state your game is in to trigger these

[00:24:29] achievements so i'm i'm actually getting a stinky experience with this achievement list

[00:24:34] that you've introduced me to and i can complain to naeve about this but he's not gonna care

[00:24:39] he's gonna be like those are really like and i'm like i remember my family achievements or

[00:24:45] whatever are registering if you don't get gamey score achievement gamer points on xbox

[00:24:51] that it's not real i don't acknowledge it oh my god how many platinum's you got bro

[00:24:57] uh oh let me go look i have that shit ball 262 the question is how many should you have but

[00:25:04] they didn't actually trigger the full amount oh more at least 50 more got see with retro

[00:25:12] achievements you can actually send you can go in and just like change it so that you have

[00:25:16] an achievement because it's like the honor system yeah but that means people are just

[00:25:21] going to be flipping they they're like flipping bricks uh on monstrosa or whatever

[00:25:27] there's some is that on the gba yeah there's a bunch of achievements too that are like

[00:25:32] they'll say like in hardcore mode which means like if you use a safe state you'll fuck yourself out

[00:25:37] of that but um yeah there's a bunch of like anbrick devices that are

[00:25:42] 50 wi-fi cards and stuff yeah yeah like the one i have i think it was like 70 bucks and

[00:25:48] yeah it's got wi-fi it's got uh the dual uh sd cards so if you wanted to you could

[00:25:54] you pop in like uh i don't think they make a one terabyte sd card you could pop in like a

[00:25:58] fucking infinite sd card and i don't know what the fuck but yeah it's it's pretty cool i think

[00:26:03] i've got uh i'm gonna look at my retro achievements real fast so i can brag about something

[00:26:07] oh yeah i don't have any good retro achievements i think let me look damn it where's my stuff

[00:26:15] at there we go um i've got almost every single one in air zonk if anybody knows what the

[00:26:21] fuck that no i have everything in air zonk okay yeah look at you ah and uh that's about it

[00:26:28] yeah pretty close and kirby in the amazing mirror that one's pretty good i just started that

[00:26:34] one too like uh whenever i had my little game boy and we were in like the waiting room at

[00:26:38] the doctors and me and my daughter were playing them together kirby in the amazing mirror

[00:26:45] that one's good man yeah if uh there's there's so many really fucking awesome games on the

[00:26:50] game boy advance i'm gonna play through like uh there's like the three castlevania games

[00:26:54] there's like a couple of those i haven't played through i've never beaten metroid zero mission

[00:26:59] which was a remake of the first metroid yeah and uh what the fuck who's that weird one um

[00:27:09] fuck it's it's like tomato no it's not tomato something hold on i need to figure out the

[00:27:14] name of this game um why are you looking at the only two achievements i have tomato adventure

[00:27:19] what's that it's like uh metroid series game no it's uh it's it's kind of like

[01:31:43] uh a friend of mine joey he was just like play this game with us it's on game pass so i was

[01:31:47] like all right let's give it a shot and then turns out it's really fucking fun yeah i think

[01:31:55] i saw like a couple streams of this game actually and that's what clued me in with

[01:31:59] what it was i didn't get our hours played but mine's probably around like five or six

[01:32:05] hours so i have not put a lot of time in this but i did play a little bit on my own

[01:32:09] and nate probably has even more time than me and uh do you have an

[01:32:13] guesstimate on your playtime erin i was just about to look it up i uh

[01:32:19] oh man one sec i'm getting it pulled up i don't even have like a one day 17 hours

[01:32:28] minutes so like uh really about like 50 or yeah fuck i don't know yeah a lot i got five a little

[01:32:37] over five yeah this game has four different classes of drawers you can play as uh do you

[01:32:43] have a main or did you kind of bounce around between them i my highest level guy is the

[01:32:48] engineer uh when uh when naeve and i were playing together i used the scout and he's

[01:32:54] actually really cool but i usually use the engineer i might switch to the scout though

[01:32:57] because that grappling hook is fucking stupid fun how about you naeve i play the engineer

[01:33:03] which seems to be the most popular online as well we ran into lots of engineers yeah

[01:33:10] i played as the driller mostly because i saw that there were drills and i'm like

[01:33:14] i want to be the guy drilling in the rock that sounds like you want to be dig dug

[01:33:17] i want to dig dug yeah this is literally what you do is you just dig in a straight line

[01:33:22] dude what sucks is whenever you're online and there isn't a driller you feel it like you're

[01:33:27] like oh my god i have to dig through this role manually you need like at least you know a

[01:33:33] perfect team would be like one of every class i would think you don't need duplicates in this

[01:33:40] because uh which team which one has the uh the yellow sponge engineer engineer like that

[01:33:46] stuff is so valuable like i wish you were using it sooner like that would have i didn't know i had

[01:33:51] a first run yeah i didn't know i had it we have the platform gun the scout has a yellow flare gun

[01:33:57] you can shoot and it'll stick a glow stick into the in like the ceiling or wherever it'll stick

[01:34:02] to wherever it lands and it'll illuminate the whole area for a good amount of time and that's

[01:34:06] your ceiling light basically it gives you a fucking lamp which is which is actually pretty

[01:34:11] helpful you don't have to like throw off every single one of your glow sticks i mean which

[01:34:15] is the best pretty good i love the i i love just he just you hit b instantly throws glow stick and it

[01:34:22] just like sails through the cave like it feels so good i don't know why it's the best mechanic in

[01:34:27] this whole game tumbles down a hill and shit yeah and then it just gets dark again i know

[01:34:32] when i'm drilling like up into something and i'm like i need a light to see while i'm drilling

[01:34:39] yeah it's a long rolls down the hill and then someone will run behind me and throw another

[01:34:43] one and then so just bright for a second it gets dark again and like i guess i really don't need

[01:34:48] to see if i'm just going in a straight line one of my favorite things i've discovered in this game

[01:34:55] is when i was playing with naev like i said with the with the scout he has a grappling hook

[01:35:00] so i would just grapple to like any place anytime try to get wherever and i'd be like oh

[01:35:09] and fucking die so i'd be like hey naev any help here and he would just throw a platform underneath

[01:35:14] me yeah but the thing is he can't be in this game you have to ping with like a different

[01:35:18] like a piece of equipment it pings something he can't ping because he's got to hold the

[01:35:22] grappling hook so he's just holding he's like naev i'm on the roof can you put a thing under

[01:35:27] me so i can look up look up please damage is brutal in this case like most of my deaths

[01:35:35] are from falling yeah i think that's true the truth actually there was one time speaking of the

[01:35:40] glow sticks i was running i threw a glow stick there was a hole in front of me and i didn't see

[01:35:45] it because it's dark the darkness is dark in this game and so i threw a glow stick it bounced

[01:35:51] off the wall right in front of me angled straight down into the hole and i go and then

[01:35:55] fall down the hole because i couldn't react in time oh dude it's really dying i think the first

[01:36:04] match naev and i played together uh we were just digging along and like a rando joined us and

[01:36:09] then this like robot octopus thing grabbed the two of us and like flung us all over the

[01:36:14] place it flew it threw naev into this like gigantic bottleless pit and he died and then

[01:36:20] i i was trying to revive the rando and it picked me up and threw me against the wall and

[01:36:25] i died so fun game dude yeah great which i feel like we haven't explained what you do in this game

[01:36:31] but your dwarves that mine and just complete different objectives underground it is the best

[01:36:38] in underground game i feel like i've ever played it's like literally yeah well we compared

[01:36:46] it to minecraft it's like imagine if minecraft was just underground and you're dealing

[01:36:50] with like you know monsters constantly like that's what this game is imagine if it was it wasn't

[01:36:56] minecraft just mine yeah only mine no crap they said they said for rock and stone every other

[01:37:03] fucking sentence dude rock and stone there's a dedicated rock and stone it was like right stick

[01:37:09] or something yeah pressing your guy raises his pickaxe for rock and stone or you can go buy

[01:37:16] a beer before a mission and they're like cheersing they're like for rock and stone and then you drink

[01:37:20] it and fucking pass out and then put money on the jukebox and start doing the gritty or whatever

[01:37:27] they floss and everything god yes which you get buffs and you can use the resources you

[01:37:34] gather in the mission to get buff drinks that you guys drink before the mission that apply

[01:37:38] throughout the mission uh so the drinking is relevant it's just funny but every time you go

[01:37:44] do the dance you have the little your operation center is like i have a message from the higher

[01:37:50] ups stop dancing and get to work great the uh erin's friend bought us a drink but and before

[01:37:59] right before we ran out to the little the cart that takes us the odst drop pod and i drank

[01:38:05] it right away erin drank it in the pod and then the other guy i guess was immune to i don't

[01:38:10] know what happened but as soon as i drink it it made if soon as you drink it it makes you

[01:38:13] pass out and so i got to the front of the pod and then passed out in front of it i'm

[01:38:19] still laying there and i need to be revived and they're just laughing at me

[01:38:25] and we were in the pod we were in the pod and it was actually launching into the mission

[01:38:29] so we left they behind and it's still in the mission anyway left me passed out in front of

[01:38:35] the pod which amazing uh allegory for our actual pod is that i'm hung over here i am

[01:38:42] late which i didn't highlight how much this game costs but the the base game is 30 dollars

[01:38:49] so you know half price or lower but there's of course tons of bundles that come with

[01:38:54] lots of stuff there's so many dlcs and bundles for this there's like a a dwarven legacy a

[01:39:00] master edition and a deluxe edition so you can spend as much as you want on this game

[01:39:07] yeah cosmetics and stuff well it is on game pass also it is on game pass which is how we played

[01:39:11] it so a couple different ops that we did uh default is the mining expedition this is our

[01:39:19] first run this basically like hey go collect some of this on obtainium and then come back

[01:39:24] and you can call the little droid your minecart and they've pointed out the droids name

[01:39:31] it's molly yep so how am i gonna work how am i gonna work that into the into the into the

[01:39:37] picture i don't know you have double mollys and they're always like molly get over here

[01:39:44] and yeah they're like you useless piece of shit get over here molly and i'm like oh i

[01:39:49] warms my cockles you're gonna talk shit to the minecart molly which is funny because there's

[01:39:54] missions where you don't have molly later on and they're like molly oh she's not here you know

[01:40:00] when she's not here really start to miss her and i'm like why do we need so much dialogue

[01:40:04] on this but yeah so there's what's up i was gonna say there's a lot of cool mission types

[01:40:12] but i feel like you're gonna get to that like oh yeah like i just wanted to go through them

[01:40:15] like the biggest like kind of like default game that i can link this to is like lefford dead

[01:40:20] because that's what this is a four player co-op killing hordes with the monsters whatever

[01:40:24] but lefford dead's always you know get to a point defend deal with the horde escape

[01:40:29] this it's like mine expedition yet explore and find certain resources cool it's a little

[01:40:34] different and then return back to the drop pod or no i think you call the drop pod in

[01:40:38] and it just drops down randomly on the map and you have to get to it which in our first

[01:40:42] mission nave you were like oh i found a chest i gotta play flappy bird on it and you play flappy

[01:40:48] bird to unlock it while we're killing bugs and you're like oh there's jet boots in here come

[01:40:54] get your jet boots and i'm like get bent nave i don't need you and your damn jet boots i'm going

[01:41:00] on myself and then at the end philip got stuck in the bottom of a pit and he's digging

[01:41:06] his way up yeah i don't even know i don't remember i have a platform dig and so we

[01:41:11] leave philip uh and rachel's playing with us so we leave philip and rachel behind because neither

[01:41:15] of them have jet boots because neither of them wanted to come back and get they collect them

[01:41:20] oh man i'm so mad at them like fucking nave anyways the next one we had egg hunt where you

[01:41:26] had to like fight your way into alien bug nests collect eggs and bring them back to the

[01:41:30] ship easy simple interesting because it's more combat focus this one though had a weird thing

[01:41:38] where we had this is our first encounter with meteor showers which caused like explosive meteors

[01:41:44] to drop lava down tubes underground with us like i don't know you remember that part you're like

[01:41:49] what is happening this is so weird i don't think i ever connected it to meteors i was just like

[01:41:54] i gotta not be close to that whatever that is fuck it so the longer you're in the game every

[01:41:59] so many minutes or whatever there's a chance for a random event to happen much like in

[01:42:04] ride in the uh in the city trial mode yep uh there's a chance of just something goofy going

[01:42:10] on such as a meteor shower a giant bug spawning in like a tank uh or dino blade dino blade yep

[01:42:17] just a bunch of random goofy shit i didn't put them all in here but there's a couple

[01:42:21] different things gonna happen uh next one i thought this was incredible on see on-site refining

[01:42:28] we needed to pump basically space oil from little geysers we would drop a refinery or pump

[01:42:34] that we have this iraq yeah space iraq we would drop a pump on the uh little oil stations or

[01:42:41] whatever like a little derrick that would pump it out then we had to build a fuel lines from

[01:42:46] a refinery to the oil derrick and then actually construct them after we built them and then bugs

[01:42:52] would attack the lines and we had to defend them but we could grind on them like yeah tony hawke

[01:42:58] like sonic adventure oh i thought philip was going for sonic that's why i was doing it

[01:43:04] yeah tony hawk it you can tell you i was actually thinking of what was the

[01:43:08] jetsat radio i was gonna say that one or the microsoft sunset overdrive yeah

[01:43:13] oh we can grind on the rails uh you can do a lot of games where you can do that

[01:43:17] i'm thinking about it the grinding sucks kind of it's it's terrible and you get momentum so if

[01:43:23] you jump off with the momentum you will slam into a wall and wiley coyote fucking oh my god

[01:43:30] i thought this was incredible because like you actually build the tracks like you map them

[01:43:35] through the procedurally generated map where they need to go and like the first time we

[01:43:39] did this mission our little um our refinery station was like down in a crater so we had

[01:43:45] to like build the tubes going up out of the crater and i really love this but i feel like

[01:43:51] i haven't seen this in another game it was pretty cool and uh every mission you have like a

[01:43:56] secondary objective so the whole time philip's doing that i'm like looking for eggs like our

[01:44:00] secondary objective to save extra money and philip is like i've never seen a single one

[01:44:05] of these i'm like philip i knocked some eggs down and philip's like i have no idea

[01:44:07] what you're talking about is he's on the other side of the map like fucking hammering

[01:44:11] out this thing uh next up is salvage operation this is where a minecart has been fucked up by

[01:44:19] a bug or something and we need to get in there and repair it and get it out of there and i think

[01:44:25] this is the one that i played with aaron before i lagged out and i'm like i'm not going back

[01:44:31] where's the minecart then you have to find like four legs all the pieces yeah and you

[01:44:36] got to fix it and then escort it back out uh i put the ones that we didn't play down here

[01:44:43] because there's quite a few of them point extraction this is where you are in like

[01:44:47] a large central cavern and you have to deal with like basically a horde of enemies attacking

[01:44:55] your little extraction point you have to basically go out into the edges collect gems

[01:44:59] and then bring it back to your center point while again like overrun by a horde this one

[01:45:03] sounds pretty cool uh next up there's escort mission where you have to escort a giant

[01:45:08] drill dozer as it's digging through the map uh i'm a big escort but i didn't do this one

[01:45:15] yeah this is pretty cool actually we did me and aaron did this

[01:45:19] and the drill so you just slap it on the ass and it just goes and then you and you kind of

[01:45:24] just follow it and like look around the caves and going yeah nearly every so often it'll

[01:45:29] run out of gas and stop so like you'll have to pick up one of the gas tanks and like and just

[01:45:33] fill it up with gas and then bring it back but you can also like explore and shit in the

[01:45:37] meantime while it's digging yeah the drill can can get like attacked though and if it gets

[01:45:42] to like zero it'll it'll die in its game over but it's it's pretty beefy though yeah

[01:45:47] and then finally elimination this is where you have to hunt down a certain bug life form and

[01:45:51] kill it oh i didn't play that one uh i love the variants i bet the the normal bosses that show up

[01:46:00] just in the regular missions were tough and we were playing on normal or probably even we were

[01:46:04] playing on like easy i'm guessing yeah me and philip ran into like two of them and every time

[01:46:09] the first time we ran into it we just get wiped right away and we don't know what it is

[01:46:13] and it just popped up on us and i'm like what's happening i think it's the one that killed

[01:46:18] me and nave too i think it was a dreadnought or something like that that robot octopus thing

[01:46:21] it just showed up out of nowhere like mid mission and then just annihilated us right away yeah so

[01:46:28] it's we are on like season four of this game which would i say when this game released

[01:46:34] how old is this i think it was three years ago at least yeah so four years season four how

[01:46:39] can we get uh there's a lot of content in this like it feels like when we went into

[01:46:47] vermentide 2 after that game being out for however long and i'm like there's just a thousand

[01:46:52] achievements and battle passes and challenges and cosmetics and gear and all this other bullshit

[01:46:57] this game feels like it too yeah there is old dwarf he's short and there's um it's a cool

[01:47:05] let's say there's cool difference like each class has their own specific loadouts and

[01:47:10] shit too like they'll have primary weapons and stuff like that but you also unlock

[01:47:14] secondary like fuck like the what is i think the engineer starts off with like a shotgun as their

[01:47:21] main weapon and then like a pistol is your secondary one i think but there's other cool

[01:47:25] weapons you can unlock in different cool ways you can customize them kind of like in destiny

[01:47:29] where like guns themselves of little skill trees you can pick from um like you can upgrade

[01:47:35] say accuracy over firepower or yeah shit like that even like your armor you can upgrade and

[01:47:41] shit too the the driller for example he has a flamethrower as his primary weapon and it can be

[01:47:48] converted or switched into a cryo freeze gun or whatever so instead of burning enemies

[01:47:55] you like freeze them solid which is different pretty cool like i remember we had a driller

[01:48:00] pop in who had that and i just had the flamethrower and so we were just flaming

[01:48:03] the same enemy repeatedly like your toad or okey yeah so

[01:48:11] there's a prestige system as well and you can reciege classes uh we of course didn't make it

[01:48:16] that far and when you reciege them it gives you yes see your dog molly get over here

[01:48:22] like they give you more skill points you can put into like passive perks

[01:48:25] and these perks there's like a thousand of them these tiny little icons like this game

[01:48:31] feels like it was designed for pc i think there's even a destiny cursor

[01:48:36] and those yeah if you have multiple characters those those ones that you buy they'll carry

[01:48:41] over to your other characters that you make as well too so you don't have to like rebuy

[01:48:45] any of that shit you can just apply them to another character this is weird because uh this

[01:48:51] is a problem that we had with um how what was it i don't maybe chip or whatever it's

[01:48:56] like whenever we start up a game and i'm like wow this game is actually good

[01:49:01] it's it's weird that we have a quality game that we play especially when the game seems like

[01:49:09] it's like this is dubious like this could be bad this could be terrible and then you start

[01:49:13] playing like oh this is actually the best thing i've played all day yeah like it's weird to

[01:49:17] call it out six months but i'm like this could be like game of the year for us or something

[01:49:23] like this is already a high tier game even though we didn't we didn't play like a crazy
