[00:00:03] - [Speaker 0]
Hell yeah. Kink unlocked.
[00:00:08] - [Speaker 1]
Hey. I'm Jerry.
[00:00:09] - [Speaker 0]
Hey. I'm Aaron. This is Special Rehab. Welcome back to Retro Rehab, the greatest collaboration of all time. You know it.
[00:00:30] - [Speaker 0]
I know it. Jerry knows it. I'll shout it from the top of the whatever the fuck bridge is in San Diego or whatever California town. I'll shout it from up top there. I'll climb up there, and I'll do it.
[00:00:40] - [Speaker 0]
Of course, I am Aaron joined by Jerry.
[00:00:43] - [Speaker 1]
And I am Jerry. Of course. And I'll I'll
[00:00:45] - [Speaker 0]
shut up from
[00:00:45] - [Speaker 1]
the Golden Gate, and I'll jump on that bitch and live.
[00:00:49] - [Speaker 0]
And live. Because suicide is badass.
[00:00:54] - [Speaker 1]
No. It's not. Don't do that.
[00:00:57] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, yeah. Please don't kill yourself. Sorry. Sorry, everybody. Today, we're gonna be talking about the weirdest of the weird in the PlayStation one library.
[00:01:04] - [Speaker 0]
Because, oh my oh my god, is there a lot? There's a good number of really weird games in that bitch, but we've dug deep into the library of over 4,000 games to try and find
[00:01:14] - [Speaker 1]
Play them all.
[00:01:16] - [Speaker 0]
No. We we hand tested each one, took each one out for a spin like a like a cyber truck. Did not end well. Nope. Someone spun
[00:01:24] - [Speaker 1]
the fuck out in the mud.
[00:01:27] - [Speaker 0]
Just like a cyber truck would if there's even any moisture outside. It's not starting. It's like an old mud
[00:01:33] - [Speaker 1]
It rains. It's like, I don't wanna.
[00:01:37] - [Speaker 0]
No. I hurt my stomach and with a cyber truck.
[00:01:43] - [Speaker 1]
That's the fucking AI voice. I wish the cyber truck just had Betty as the as the voice, the AI voice. Oh, my god. Swinging the chain. Swinging the chain.
[00:01:58] - [Speaker 1]
Oh my god. Listeners, if you haven't seen kung pao, it has aged like a fine wine. Totally not offensive at all anymore, and I highly recommend everybody to go watch it.
[00:02:15] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, we need to do a watch party of that movie. I'll lose my shit. Yes, where, like, I'll I'm gonna stop talking about this movie after I quote this part, but there's the the part where the chosen one's master gets beat up, he's like, beware the song of big butts. He beats you up while he plays it. Then he starts squirting like a pig.
[00:02:37] - [Speaker 1]
Oh, man. Yep. Shit. Yeah. Not
[00:02:40] - [Speaker 0]
he fight. So so this game's right. Not just hidden gems, but games that are just downright strange, but worth the look. We're getting weird today, baby. I'm gonna get weird with it.
[00:02:51] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Before you get into that. What could possibly be new in the world of retro?
[00:02:56] - [Speaker 1]
I'll tell
[00:02:57] - [Speaker 0]
you, Jerry.
[00:02:57] - [Speaker 1]
I'll tell you some stuff. Do you like Mario RPG? Like, the original Super Mario RPG, the legend of the seven stars?
[00:03:06] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. You like that shit?
[00:03:07] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. Well, somebody went ahead and made a ROM. Yeah. Do you like that? Somebody made a a ROM hack of Super Mario RPG called Super Koopa RPG, where you play as the, like, the Koopa bros, and they replace all of the the original care yeah.
[00:03:24] - [Speaker 1]
I was checking some stuff out. I kinda wanna gonna give it a download and just see what it's all about. I guess there's, like, a bunch of new stuff. If you go over to romhacking.net, you will find that there. At the time of this recording, there's a post from June 8.
[00:03:40] - [Speaker 1]
It is not June 8 today, but that's when this was posted. And it says that, there's new levels, new events, new story and character dialogues, custom sprites, including allies, NPCs, weapons, and enemies, some custom animate animations, new items and equipment, new enemy stat, attack patterns, strength, weaknesses, and more. Side content, including collectibles, secret levels, tough battles. You look a tough battle. Shit.
[00:04:04] - [Speaker 1]
You look a tough battle? I like a tough I like
[00:04:06] - [Speaker 0]
a tough man.
[00:04:07] - [Speaker 1]
I like a teepee.
[00:04:08] - [Speaker 0]
It's my normal everyday life.
[00:04:11] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. My my daily life is a tough battle. But, yeah, that's, it looks pretty cool, and that is by, I didn't catch the name of the
[00:04:26] - [Speaker 0]
Created by an ranger?
[00:04:28] - [Speaker 1]
An Axiom ranger. So that's, that's the the the, I guess, the producer of this ROM hack. But, if you've played Super Mario RPG and you've gotten to that point, you'll know that Axum Rangers are one of the, the bosses or, like, the enemies in the game that are, like, kind of replicating power rangers. And that's a cool name for a
[00:04:56] - [Speaker 0]
That is fucking cool.
[00:04:57] - [Speaker 1]
Yep. So shout out to an axe ranger. Ranger. Sounds pretty dope. Pretty pretty baller.
[00:05:07] - [Speaker 1]
Also, doom on the Super Nintendo wasn't the best game. Like, it was it was a Marvel that it even got ported to the Super Nintendo at the time, because there's way worse versions of doom than on the Super Nintendo. But, real sunlit space has gone ahead and started to port doom two to the Super Nintendo. Right now, there's only the first two levels, but it sounds like they are fully committed to bringing the whole game. So it's like a a project that they'll be, they'll be bringing some doom two.
[00:05:50] - [Speaker 0]
Okay. Again, that's pretty
[00:05:53] - [Speaker 1]
cool. The best place to play doom two,
[00:05:54] - [Speaker 0]
but it's super cool that they're doing this. Just love when, like, people war.
[00:05:59] - [Speaker 1]
Oh god. That's not a good one. That's a bad one.
[00:06:04] - [Speaker 0]
All the audio Except the one
[00:06:06] - [Speaker 1]
or no. I think it's this I think it's the 32 x one that doesn't even have music.
[00:06:11] - [Speaker 0]
I think that's what I was thinking of. Yeah. Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's the thing that does jaguar is also probably pretty bad too. Yeah.
[00:06:17] - [Speaker 1]
Yep. I I'm I'm pretty sure if you just said, and the Atari Jaguar version, I'd be like, that's a bad one. Oh, and, this just in. You're hearing it here first, folks, for sure, because nobody checked out that Nintendo Direct. But No.
[00:06:35] - [Speaker 1]
They have now released the m rated channel for n 64 on the Switch and perfect dark, and it doesn't work.
[00:06:48] - [Speaker 0]
That's what I've been here for holy shit. That's what I've been hearing. Yeah.
[00:06:53] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. It's, I've seen some clips online of people playing it, and I guess, like, I think in the second level, it just goes, like, full drunk mode. Like, it's so it just, like it's it's whack looking. Like, I don't understand how they fuck this up. It's their own console.
[00:07:11] - [Speaker 1]
How do they fuck this up?
[00:07:13] - [Speaker 2]
I don't get it. I don't get tell me. Have to
[00:07:17] - [Speaker 0]
on Xbox. Yeah. They're working on Xbox one, so, like, they gotta work in somehow back in the back in 02/2015 or something.
[00:07:26] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. But Nintendo didn't have anything to do with that port. Just saying. Works. That's what I'm saying.
[00:07:31] - [Speaker 1]
That's what I'm saying. And look. This is the whole point of retro rehab, man. Game preservation and celebrating it. And goddamn it.
[00:07:39] - [Speaker 1]
Leave Vim alone.
[00:07:42] - [Speaker 0]
Please, dude. Leave our boy alone.
[00:07:45] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. Leave leave the homie Vim alone. And, also, like, this is what I'm this is you know
[00:07:51] - [Speaker 0]
what I'm saying? Keep it a
[00:07:51] - [Speaker 1]
%. Know what I'm saying?
[00:07:53] - [Speaker 0]
Know what I'm saying? Know what I'm saying?
[00:07:54] - [Speaker 1]
The the mister over here in the corner, that plays perfect dark. Guess how good it plays perfect dark? Really fucking good. Better than the switch. I'll tell you that.
[00:08:06] - [Speaker 1]
So the the the mister, yeah, does it Mister. No. Mister the sister fister itself, it can do it, and it does it good. So don't know what Nintendo's excuse is here, but I'm gonna I'm gonna pull your britches up, I think.
[00:08:29] - [Speaker 0]
I'm sure they'll get it patched out. Like, I remember when the n 64 shit first came out, like, whole expansion pack first came out. I think it was Ocarina of Time and one other game that were having major crashing issues and issues with, like, fog and shit as well too. And they they they almost said bitched it up. They they patched it up pretty quickly.
[00:08:49] - [Speaker 1]
Bitched it up.
[00:08:50] - [Speaker 0]
No. They they they patched it up pretty quickly and fixed it, and it's plays pretty well, I'd say.
[00:08:56] - [Speaker 1]
Yep. Yeah. I would say so too.
[00:08:59] - [Speaker 0]
Mhmm. Mhmm.
[00:09:00] - [Speaker 1]
Mhmm. Mhmm.
[00:09:01] - [Speaker 0]
Well, why don't we Get weird as fuck on PS one?
[00:09:07] - [Speaker 1]
Oh, we're gonna we're about to get weird as fuck. So I think it's customary to
[00:09:15] - [Speaker 2]
It won't let go of me.
[00:09:16] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, yeah.
[00:09:18] - [Speaker 1]
Bring out the olives. Bring out the olives, Aaron. Let's, let's get weird as fuck on PS one.
[00:09:28] - [Speaker 0]
Dude, I legitimately just bought a jar of olives the other day. They're jalapeno stuffed, and they're so fucking good. Continue.
[00:09:35] - [Speaker 1]
Tell me that you were like, Cheyenne, bring out the olives. And she
[00:09:40] - [Speaker 0]
was like,
[00:09:41] - [Speaker 1]
let go of me.
[00:09:46] - [Speaker 0]
I was banished to the basement.
[00:09:49] - [Speaker 1]
Because of your olives?
[00:09:52] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Or just like We'll
[00:09:53] - [Speaker 1]
go with
[00:09:53] - [Speaker 0]
that. I don't know, man.
[00:09:56] - [Speaker 2]
You bought olives again? What the fuck, Aaron? We had this conversation before. Get in the goddamn basement. Get in the basement.
[00:10:06] - [Speaker 0]
My crippling all of addiction.
[00:10:09] - [Speaker 1]
No dinosaur nuggets for you tonight.
[00:10:14] - [Speaker 0]
Left out in the doghouse like the femboy from the grudge. Please, mommy. May I please have some dino? I don't fucking go. What's happening?
[00:10:24] - [Speaker 1]
Alright. So
[00:10:24] - [Speaker 0]
What are you doing?
[00:10:25] - [Speaker 1]
So with a, I mean, with a library as massive and expansive as the PlayStation one, there's definitely no shortage of weird games. So what do you think? Should we talk about some weird games? Why don't you go ahead and, yeah, let's get fucking weird. Just pop our shirts off real quick.
[00:10:44] - [Speaker 1]
Jesus. Let's let's take off our shirts.
[00:10:46] - [Speaker 0]
Wanna wrestle? Let's fucking wrestle.
[00:10:50] - [Speaker 1]
Alright. What do you got? What do you got for some weird shit, man?
[00:10:53] - [Speaker 0]
I'm definitely not going in order. I'm gonna save, probably some of my weirdest ones for last. Let's go with TOBAL number two or TOBAL two, I mean, first. I don't know why I put the number sign down, but Isn't it no.
[00:11:04] - [Speaker 1]
It isn't number two. Right? It's just it's called Toebel two? Yeah. Or no.
[00:11:09] - [Speaker 1]
It's like Toebel n o dot two, isn't it?
[00:11:12] - [Speaker 0]
I think so.
[00:11:13] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. I think it is. I was I was literally just playing it. Yeah. Well, no.
[00:11:21] - [Speaker 1]
So toble the first toble is toble number one dot is, like, n o dot one.
[00:11:27] - [Speaker 0]
Oh. And then and toble
[00:11:28] - [Speaker 1]
two is just Tobel two. Yeah. And, yeah, it's a weird ass game, man. Tell me more.
[00:11:34] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. So I I don't even know where to start, man. So, like, so you love Tekken. Right? And you love Pokemon.
[00:11:42] - [Speaker 0]
Right? What if I were to tell you you could have two in one have both in one? So, yeah, you go around, you you fight creatures, you tame them. It's been a while since I've played this game. But, yeah, you you find creatures, you fight them, you tame them, You can fight as them or whatever.
[00:12:02] - [Speaker 0]
And, then, yeah, it's just it's got fighting game style combat where it's like, one v one. And, yeah, you have all sorts of cool different monsters you can tame and, yeah, feed them and all that stuff.
[00:12:13] - [Speaker 1]
But, like, the the quest mode is like it like, when I threw it on, I was like, wait. What? This is top down? There's a town? What the fuck is going on here?
[00:12:21] - [Speaker 0]
Like, I was There's, like, dungeons and shit too.
[00:12:24] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. It's a it's a strange game.
[00:12:27] - [Speaker 0]
Can't believe it's
[00:12:28] - [Speaker 1]
on this list.
[00:12:28] - [Speaker 0]
Game. And it was it was holy shit. Sorry. It was, not drawn. What the fuck?
[00:12:38] - [Speaker 0]
It was, Akira Toriyama did the visuals. That's what I'm trying to fucking blurt out here.
[00:12:43] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. When I was looking at it, was like, this seems very Dragon Ball looking. And Yeah, dude. That makes a lot of sense now now that you're saying it out loud. But that that cover art, that guy looks not right or something.
[00:12:59] - [Speaker 1]
You know you know what I'm saying? Like, that
[00:13:01] - [Speaker 0]
guy doesn't.
[00:13:02] - [Speaker 1]
He doesn't look right. Some something going on with his face. Like, it's, like, misproportioned or something. And he, like, he reminds me of someone, and I don't know who it is. But, like, the You cover his face up, his hair is cool, His body is fucking yoked, but, like, his face is not.
[00:13:22] - [Speaker 1]
His face looks like it's made of yolk. Like, it's
[00:13:24] - [Speaker 0]
Dude, the Japanese cover art is really fucking sweet. Like, the the Japanese cover art looks way better. They did, like, like, a hand Instead of doing, like, the three d model they have in the, in The US and, like, PAL or I don't know what the fuck. Instead of doing, like, the three d one, they have this, like, hand drawn one, and that looks really fucking cool. Wow.
[00:13:45] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. I'm looking at it right now.
[00:13:47] - [Speaker 0]
That looks so dope. Holy shit. But it's just it's so fucking weird, man. It's like I guess maybe they were trying to capitalize on possibly Pokemon and and the fighting game craze at the same time. I mean, it's interesting, though.
[00:14:03] - [Speaker 0]
It's even got a chocobo in it or not I shouldn't say a chocobo. It's got chocobos in it. And It does? Yeah. Yeah.
[00:14:10] - [Speaker 0]
There's chocobos in it.
[00:14:11] - [Speaker 1]
That's so weird. And it's a fighting game. Like, it's an r it's like a RPG fighting game.
[00:14:17] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Yeah. It's so I guess with with
[00:14:21] - [Speaker 1]
all these weird games, I think, after talking about each one, we should maybe say, like, you know, if it if it because, like, some of the ones on my list are worth, like, throwing on just to see how absolutely absurdly weird they are.
[00:14:36] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, okay.
[00:14:37] - [Speaker 1]
They're not necessarily good games. But I feel like I feel like Toebel might be a good game. Would you would you say it's it's worth throwing on to actually, like, give it a a fair shot?
[00:14:50] - [Speaker 0]
I'd say so. Yeah. It it I some the controls are a little janky, but, I mean, it's still worth throwing on to experience. Soon as
[00:15:00] - [Speaker 1]
that was the first thing. As soon as I threw it on, I was like, how do I move? What is going on here? Because, like, when you press, like, left and right, when you don't move, you, like, strafe.
[00:15:10] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. But Yeah. It's, yes, it's worth playing, man. What other game lets you go out and, like, and fight, like, I guess, human sized lizards, beat the shit out of them, tame them, and then you get to fight as those weird lizards.
[00:15:29] - [Speaker 1]
That is a really cool concept. Yeah.
[00:15:32] - [Speaker 0]
Well, is that lizards. Right?
[00:15:35] - [Speaker 1]
Lizards. Am I right? Those lizard people. Is Tobel one like this?
[00:15:45] - [Speaker 0]
I'm fairly certain. I I forget entirely. Let me look it up real fast.
[00:15:51] - [Speaker 1]
Woah. Because, like, I I don't know. Like, I've only ever heard of TOBL two being talked about before. I've never like, I've heard of TOBL number one, but, like, I've never heard a lot about it. I've only ever heard things about TOBL number two or Toble two.
[00:16:08] - [Speaker 1]
What a weird name and convention to call it.
[00:16:10] - [Speaker 0]
I know, man.
[00:16:10] - [Speaker 1]
Toble number one as the first game when clearly it's the first game and, like then it's like now the second one, though, just Toble two.
[00:16:20] - [Speaker 0]
That's just Toble two. It's I used
[00:16:23] - [Speaker 1]
to I used to always get it confused with Tomba for
[00:16:25] - [Speaker 0]
some reason. I could fucking see that, dude. Looks like it looks like the first game is oh, it does have a quest mode, actually. Okay. Yeah.
[00:16:36] - [Speaker 0]
So, yeah, it's a little bit of the same. Cool. Well,
[00:16:40] - [Speaker 1]
I would say Cool. As a as a double feature, I don't know how I maybe Toble number two or Toble fucking stupid naming convention. Maybe Toble two has a, you know, better gameplay than Tobl one, but I I would say check it out. It's got some jank stuff in it, but, check it out. It's it's weird as fuck.
[00:17:00] - [Speaker 0]
We'll have to stream it sometime.
[00:17:02] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. Speaking of streaming stuff, I know exactly a game that we have to stream just because I feel like well, we would have to, like, collect ourselves from laughing so hard so that we could actually play the game, but Pepsi man is probably the craziest shit ever. Like, have you ever seen this game in action?
[00:17:25] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. It's an auto runner, isn't it?
[00:17:27] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. Like, it's kinda like, I don't know, like, temple run kinda like I
[00:17:32] - [Speaker 0]
was gonna say temple run. Exactly like temple run. Surfers.
[00:17:35] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. Stuff like that. And, like, you're but, like, I feel like it it's better than any of those runners because it's actually a good game. Like, it's actually a lot of fun, and it's so ridiculous. Like, you're running through people's houses and shit.
[00:17:52] - [Speaker 1]
And the objective of the game is just to get to a Pepsi machine so he can get a Pepsi.
[00:17:58] - [Speaker 0]
Pepsi man.
[00:18:00] - [Speaker 1]
Pepsi man. Yeah. The the theme song too, dude. I gotta get the drop for that because it is out of this world. And and you know what?
[00:18:09] - [Speaker 1]
You know who else likes Pepsi?
[00:18:11] - [Speaker 3]
Mister Weary Wag, mister three zero five. Dial in today. I just wanna tell you. Got me a me with that up,
[00:18:16] - [Speaker 0]
Man. Yeah. Obviously, dubbed man at the end. Man.
[00:18:24] - [Speaker 1]
But, yeah, it's like a it's like crash bandicoot meets temple run, if that makes sense. And you're just Yeah.
[00:18:33] - [Speaker 0]
I could see that.
[00:18:33] - [Speaker 1]
Collecting cans of Pepsi while, like, civilians are just throwing their garb I don't know why all these people are in their alleyways just throwing garbage for no reason. And, like, people are popping out of, like, manholes and shit, and there's, like, garbage trucks being like, oh, shit. Here comes Pepsi, man. Better throw a couch at him.
[00:18:52] - [Speaker 0]
But
[00:18:55] - [Speaker 1]
that's what the that's what it is. Like, you're just kinda running and stuff, and you can, like, slide, and you could jump. And yeah. You know what? It's a lot of fun.
[00:19:03] - [Speaker 1]
I would say this is probably out of all the all the things that I I checked out for this for this list of games, Pepsi Man is probably the most legitimately fun game that you can just throw on quickly and just be like, this is really dumb. Oh, and the cut scenes are so stupid. Oh my god. They're so stupid. Because, like, this game was made for Japan.
[00:19:28] - [Speaker 1]
Like, this was a Japan only game. And
[00:19:33] - [Speaker 0]
Damn it.
[00:19:34] - [Speaker 1]
For some well, there's a translation. Don't worry. There's a translation.
[00:19:37] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, thank god.
[00:19:38] - [Speaker 1]
I don't know if they overdubbed it themselves. Well, I mean, even at the beginning, it just shows, like, clearly America. And, like, I it's so funny because it's almost like what Japan must have thought, like, Americans just looked like back in that time because it's just like this kind of chubby dude who's just, like, wearing a a white shirt and, like, blue jeans. And he, like, goes over, picks a Pepsi up, and he's like, let's get some Pepsi. Like and he's just like
[00:20:09] - [Speaker 0]
and it's, like, dubbed
[00:20:10] - [Speaker 1]
on the bottom in Japanese. But, like, it's just it's a weird capsule in time of, like, what like, why was there I mean, you know, on Super Nintendo, there was Cool Spot, which was the mascot for seven Up.
[00:20:27] - [Speaker 0]
And on NES, he had, like, three
[00:20:29] - [Speaker 1]
Was that on NES too?
[00:20:30] - [Speaker 0]
He had three games on on NES as well too. There's a checkers game. There was a platformer. Oh, yeah. While we're on the topic of seven Up, who the fuck is, like like, at the the brink of, like, thirst?
[00:20:42] - [Speaker 0]
Who the fuck is, like, dude, I could fucking go for a seven Up? Like, my mind always goes
[00:20:47] - [Speaker 1]
for Sprite or, like Sprite.
[00:20:48] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Every single time. Starry sometimes? Like, if
[00:20:51] - [Speaker 1]
they don't
[00:20:51] - [Speaker 0]
have Sprite,
[00:20:51] - [Speaker 1]
the fuck is Starry?
[00:20:53] - [Speaker 0]
You know, like, so so Pepsi used to have Sierra Mist as their Sprite. Right?
[00:20:58] - [Speaker 2]
Sierra? I don't know if I'm
[00:21:00] - [Speaker 0]
ever this in Canada?
[00:21:02] - [Speaker 1]
I've never heard of Sierra Mist. What
[00:21:06] - [Speaker 0]
does fuck? Okay.
[00:21:10] - [Speaker 1]
Kidding. I
[00:21:10] - [Speaker 0]
I love how I love
[00:21:11] - [Speaker 1]
how you, like, are almost offended by it. You're like, okay. Jesus Christ. I guess fuck. I don't
[00:21:16] - [Speaker 0]
know what the fuck. Like, what sodas do you got? What's the what's what are the popular sodas in Canada? Educate.
[00:21:23] - [Speaker 1]
Obviously, Pepsi and Coke.
[00:21:26] - [Speaker 0]
Dollywood Dollywood
[00:21:27] - [Speaker 1]
Yep. Dollywood Dollywood Pepsi.
[00:21:30] - [Speaker 0]
Dollywood.
[00:21:33] - [Speaker 1]
Dollywood. But, yeah, we got do you guys have, like, A and W root beer?
[00:21:44] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Like, beer? Yeah.
[00:21:46] - [Speaker 1]
Hell yeah. That's Canadian as fuck.
[00:21:48] - [Speaker 0]
Is it?
[00:21:49] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. A and W is Canadian. I think. I don't know. Maybe I'm fucking speaking out of my ass here, but I'm pretty sure I
[00:21:54] - [Speaker 0]
don't That's that's cool. Like, we have well, not so much anymore, but sometimes there's, like you'll see an A and W restaurant here in in The States, and it'll be, like, fat fucking burgers and, like, like, greasy diner food, like, hot dogs and shit, and though you'll get you'll be able to get A and W root beer fresh from the fucking cave.
[00:22:16] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
[00:22:16] - [Speaker 0]
Straight from the the fountain.
[00:22:17] - [Speaker 1]
In a frozen mug?
[00:22:19] - [Speaker 0]
Dude. Yeah.
[00:22:20] - [Speaker 1]
Dude, that that root beer hits differently. And I was very disappointed when you did your root beer tier list, you did not include it. I was very upset. I would not I I refused to
[00:22:29] - [Speaker 0]
AMW was, like, at the top.
[00:22:31] - [Speaker 1]
It was? Oh, no. Sorry. It was dad's root beer. Dad's root
[00:22:36] - [Speaker 0]
beer is what's up as far as, like Yeah.
[00:22:38] - [Speaker 1]
Domesticate. I haven't
[00:22:39] - [Speaker 0]
tried dad's.
[00:22:40] - [Speaker 1]
But, anyways Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep.
[00:22:42] - [Speaker 1]
Yep.
[00:22:44] - [Speaker 0]
Went really far off topic here.
[00:22:46] - [Speaker 1]
Way too off topic, but, oh, well, here we are. So, yeah, check out Pepsi Man. What else you got? Some cool things here on this list.
[00:22:58] - [Speaker 0]
Dude, okay. So Devil Dice. This is one that I I tried to record some gameplay for the Super Pod Saga YouTube a while ago. Unfortunately, it didn't work because OBS is stupid, but it's it's it's cool cool little puzzle game where basically this this board is filled with dice. It's it's isometric view, then you play as a little demon guy or whatever.
[00:23:25] - [Speaker 0]
And you basically just walk across the dice, and the direction that you walk on top of the dice kind of, yeah, like, moves the dice in a different direction. And as you're walking on the dice and moving it, it'll, you know, flip to different faces on the die, like, you know, one, six, whatever. And it's, I think you have to match it's like you can't match three dice of the same face. Basically, you match you match dice of the same face or number or whatever, and then I'll clear them off the off the the board or table or whatever. I played a shit ton of there was, like, an endless mode, I think it's what it was called, where it just keeps going and going and going, and it gets faster, like, the higher level you get.
[00:24:11] - [Speaker 0]
And that was just fucking fun, dude. It's it's stupid and, like, doesn't make sense at times, but it's fun. And the the die like, how do I explain it? So, like, the dice that that you match together, it'll slowly, like, sink off the board. And then once as you're going along, dice will continually, like, fall from the ceiling in its empty spots and shit like that.
[00:24:41] - [Speaker 0]
And it's just it's it's fun, man. It's goofy. It a puzzle game? Yeah. It's a puzzle game.
[00:24:50] - [Speaker 1]
Okay. I do know that you you are a man of puzzle games.
[00:24:54] - [Speaker 0]
It's it's fucking awesome, man. And sometimes the boards have, like, really weird, goofy, like, gimmicks to them. I haven't another one I haven't played in a while. I I really do need to fire this one up again on the old Amber Nick, but it's fun, man. It's cool.
[00:25:11] - [Speaker 1]
Hell yeah. Maybe I'll throw that on. Hell yeah. Alright. So I tried to throw a game on that I've I've only ever heard about, and I've heard I haven't even really heard about that much.
[00:25:26] - [Speaker 1]
I've always heard people say it's like a hidden gem. I wouldn't go that far with it. It's I don't know. It's weird. So Vib Ribbon.
[00:25:34] - [Speaker 1]
Have you ever heard of this? Have you seen this?
[00:25:36] - [Speaker 0]
I've I've heard of and seen it. Yeah. I've heard of it. I've seen of it. I've never played it.
[00:25:41] - [Speaker 1]
It's, I think it's by the same developers as Parappa the Rapper. And I do believe you can use your own CDs for the soundtrack because there's an option when you when you start a level. It says, like, use Vib Ribbon CD or insert your own CD. So I think what you can do is you can pop the lid open, put, like What
[00:26:02] - [Speaker 0]
the fuck?
[00:26:03] - [Speaker 1]
Fucking cannibal corpse in there and just like
[00:26:08] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, holy shit.
[00:26:11] - [Speaker 1]
Could you imagine? So it's a weird game. It's all, like I don't know how to describe the style. It's, like, wireframe looking, and it's, like, black and white. And, like
[00:26:21] - [Speaker 0]
And it's constantly, like, like, it's like, that of his mind.
[00:26:25] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. It's it's a weird looking game. And at I when I threw it on, I was like, alright. It's our game. Like, I'm o I I pride myself in being pretty okay at video games.
[00:26:37] - [Speaker 1]
And I was like, what the fuck is this? Like, how do I even play this? Like, I'm like, pressing buttons. I felt like a child again when you first pick up a, like, a controller when you're, like, a child, and you're, like, just mashing buttons being like, how do I make things work? Because I I had no idea.
[00:26:53] - [Speaker 1]
So I backed out and went into how to play, and it shows, like, almost like a cut scene of this thing, like, singing like, the little rabbit thing that you play as. It's, like, singing along and, like, telling you, like, hey. When you see this thing appear on on the level, you have to press this button. It's like, there's no correlation whatsoever as to why I should press that button for that thing. Like, a giant, like, rectangle, you need to press r one.
[00:27:21] - [Speaker 1]
I I don't know. I don't know. I have no idea. And then, like, for there's, like, little jaggies on on the ground. You have to press x on those.
[00:27:30] - [Speaker 1]
And then, like, there's, like, these loop loop circle things. And wait. Maybe it does make sense in a weird way. Because if it's r one, the one is kinda like pillar. Oh my god.
[00:27:44] - [Speaker 1]
And then the looped loop is kinda like a two. It does make sense. I am the dip switch. Holy shit.
[00:27:52] - [Speaker 0]
Alright.
[00:27:52] - [Speaker 1]
Maybe maybe this maybe this is the best game ever made.
[00:27:55] - [Speaker 0]
You're having, like, a, like, a full on rain man moment?
[00:28:00] - [Speaker 1]
What if? What? But I, I did not get very far. I did manage once I watched the how to play video, I was able to get through the first level. But I was kinda like, this is a very odd game.
[00:28:19] - [Speaker 1]
And because I was playing on the MiSTer, I don't really have a way to do the whole, like, insert your own CD and play it. At at least I don't Yeah. May I don't know. Who knows if there's a way? But I feel like it would be pretty funny if, like, you were playing that game to some, like, insane o music just playing in the background.
[00:28:41] - [Speaker 0]
Cannibal Corpse. That'd so fucking cool. Corpse. Fuck the police. Fucking soul fly.
[00:28:49] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, man. I Yeah. I
[00:28:51] - [Speaker 1]
don't know if I can say if this is a very good game, but it's a game.
[00:28:56] - [Speaker 0]
It's a
[00:28:57] - [Speaker 1]
game for
[00:28:57] - [Speaker 0]
sure. That's a game.
[00:28:59] - [Speaker 1]
At it's at least worth throwing on just to see just how weird. Like, it is pretty fucking weird, so check it out.
[00:29:09] - [Speaker 0]
You know what? I was reading a little bit let's let's get a Wikipedia check. Hey, Ken. Let's check Wikipedia real fast. So I was looking on Wikipedia reading about this game.
[00:29:19] - [Speaker 0]
It was initially commissioned as an advertisement for the Mercedes Benz a class car. This game was but then after design issues surfaced with the car and the ad plan was dropped, they were just like, fuck it.
[00:29:30] - [Speaker 1]
Maybe Ribbon was?
[00:29:32] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. I don't know how I don't know if maybe, like no. I don't I don't know how the fuck that would work. What does this car look like? It's just a fucking fan, bro.
[00:29:47] - [Speaker 1]
It's just a van. A Mercedes van. They're like, yeah. We're we're gonna strike a real good deal with you.
[00:29:55] - [Speaker 0]
Five door hatchback. Fucking pardon me.
[00:30:00] - [Speaker 1]
Jesus Christ. I didn't realize it was a fucking party bus.
[00:30:06] - [Speaker 0]
The fifth door is for the the cocaine.
[00:30:11] - [Speaker 1]
Cocaine entrance only.
[00:30:16] - [Speaker 0]
Dude, speaking
[00:30:17] - [Speaker 1]
of get in, and it's just like, just blasting vib ribbon. Blasting cannibal corpse.
[00:30:24] - [Speaker 0]
Too bad you're doing cocaine and listening to death metal. That'd be so cool. Cannibal ribbon. Cannibal Ribbon. Yep.
[00:30:32] - [Speaker 0]
Kates. All those Kates.
[00:30:35] - [Speaker 1]
Kates. And Kates. I see some some other ones here on your list. One of them, I have played. One of them, I have not.
[00:30:48] - [Speaker 1]
Tell me about tell me about Domino's.
[00:30:53] - [Speaker 0]
Dude, okay. There's a hang There's a fucking there's a cat sneezing in my room, and I can't find it. Okay. I'm gonna Leave
[00:31:04] - [Speaker 1]
it alone. I've never heard anybody say that before. Could you imagine just, like, calling the police and being like, so here's the situation. Okay? There's a cat in my house.
[00:31:14] - [Speaker 1]
It's sneezing. I don't know where it is. I cannot locate the sneezing cat.
[00:31:21] - [Speaker 0]
Wait. She's like you can kinda whoops. You can kinda see her, but she's like, maybe there she is. Okay. She's jumped down.
[00:31:27] - [Speaker 0]
That's that's the sneezing cat. I gotta let this bitch out real fast. Otherwise, she's gonna go crazy. Okay.
[00:31:44] - [Speaker 1]
Do you normally say, go on get?
[00:31:47] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Like, all the time. I don't know why. Every time I open the door, I'm like, go on get.
[00:31:51] - [Speaker 1]
Max gonna give it to you. Yeah. Domino's.
[00:31:56] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Yeah. The pizza. So no one can stop mister Domino. It's weird, but it's fucking cool.
[00:32:04] - [Speaker 0]
So, basically, there there's, like, six different stages. It it's kind of also it is an endless runner, actually. So there's this track that mister Domino follows along. He continually runs along this track, and there's little switches that you can you can activate to do certain things. It's like an auto runner meets a puzzler, because as you're running along, you can hit I forget which button it is, but you'll you'll poop out little dominoes.
[00:32:31] - [Speaker 0]
And you'll you'll poop out little Yeah. He won't he won't, like you won't see him, you know, scrouching down and and just
[00:32:40] - [Speaker 1]
Oh my god.
[00:32:43] - [Speaker 0]
You won't see him shucking out a fatty or anything like that. He just you'll see Domino's dropping out behind him as he runs along. But, basically, you wanna drop Domino's near, like, a switch, because that's how you trigger the switches as dominoes falling onto the switch. And if you so you make a trail to this switch, and then when you trigger the switch, it triggers this action. It like a Rube Goldberg machine kinda thing where, like, you hit a switch.
[00:33:10] - [Speaker 0]
It makes this, like, ball fall down this little track or whatever, we'll say.
[00:33:14] - [Speaker 1]
Oh my god. Does it do that like that? Missed opportunity.
[00:33:25] - [Speaker 0]
But yeah. So your dominoes will hit a trigger. That triggers this other action that happens, and that could basically, you're setting up all these different, like, chains of events. And, like, the the more you chain together, the more points you get, and, like, the less time you have to spend in the level going around. Probably the best way to figure this all out, actually, is, Super Pod Saga's own Tommy.
[00:33:48] - [Speaker 0]
He, I had him play this for, like, fifteen minutes. He fucking freaked out, but he eventually liked it. Yeah. We just talked about this on SuperPod. Yeah, man.
[00:33:59] - [Speaker 0]
It's it's it's such a fucking funny video. Tommy's always just like, fat Tony's Casino, everyone, which is the first level.
[00:34:07] - [Speaker 1]
Backyard. Fat Tony's Casino.
[00:34:10] - [Speaker 0]
It's a fun game, actually, though. Like, I I I can't I don't think I'm explaining it very well, but it's it's fun once you actually get into it, man. Hell, yeah. That's what we need. Oh, and the soundtrack is dope as shit too.
[00:34:23] - [Speaker 0]
Like, for the first level, Bantoni's Casino, holy shit does it bop.
[00:34:28] - [Speaker 1]
Really? I'll have
[00:34:29] - [Speaker 0]
check now. Yeah.
[00:34:33] - [Speaker 1]
Hell yeah. Domino's Pizza Pizza. You fat fuck. Christ alive. So I, I've always heard about this game LSD, the dream emulator.
[00:34:52] - [Speaker 1]
Have you ever heard about this?
[00:34:55] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. I've it's I don't think I've ever actually seen someone play it, though.
[00:34:59] - [Speaker 1]
It is the definition of weird. I would almost say this takes the cake of being the weirdest game on PS one. It is I
[00:35:10] - [Speaker 0]
could see that.
[00:35:10] - [Speaker 1]
It's a walking simulator before those were even, like, a thing, and it is out to lunch, man. Like, you're just walking around and, like, you'll walk up to, like, a structure, and then it'll just, like, warp you to a different map. Like, you'll just be, like, walk up to a tree, and then it'll just, like, fade out. And then you'll be in, like, a completely new area, and there's, like doesn't tell you what you're supposed to do. But then, like, there there's days.
[00:35:39] - [Speaker 1]
There's, like, a day counter. So, like, at the end of the day, you, like, wake up, I guess, because, like, it stops, goes back to, like, the main menu where you can, like, save and stuff. Like, there's a save function in this game, and, like, I don't but, like, you don't really do anything. And then there's, like, there's this weird chart that, like, tells you, I don't know. Like like, your location in the dreamscape or something.
[00:36:05] - [Speaker 0]
Like, it's like a picture,
[00:36:06] - [Speaker 1]
like a grid. Dude, I don't have a clue what is happening in this game, but, like
[00:36:12] - [Speaker 0]
sounds cool.
[00:36:12] - [Speaker 2]
I don't know.
[00:36:13] - [Speaker 1]
Like, it's it's but you know what's weird? I feel uneasy while I'm playing this game. Like, it it feels weird. Like, again, the definition of a weird ass game, and it makes me feel uncomfortable in a way I have not before. And I don't know if there's gonna be something in the game.
[00:36:37] - [Speaker 1]
Like, at one point, I, like, walked up to a pyramid, warped. Then I was, like, by a riverside with some, like, like, some ancient Japanese looking, like, structures. And I was walking, and then it just slowly faded out as I was just walking. Then I was in, like, and, also, the initial area, the frames are, like, a it's a slideshow. It's a fucking Microsoft PowerPoint.
[00:37:02] - [Speaker 1]
And, like, at one point, I warped to, like, a very green lush looking area, and it was, like, super fast. Like, it was, like, playing at, like, a 20 frames per second. Like, it it didn't even make sense. I was like, what the fuck is it wasn't actually a 20 frames per second, but, like, it just all of a sudden, it was like, oh, it's it's got full frames now. And, like, I'm running around.
[00:37:21] - [Speaker 1]
No idea what I'm doing. There's a giant fish just, like, up in the fucking sky. Yeah. It's the weirdest shit I've ever seen, and I have no idea what you're supposed to do in it. I don't know.
[00:37:32] - [Speaker 1]
I don't think I can even recommend anybody to throw this on other than to maybe just, like, watch some videos or something of it because it it is, like, the weirdest shit I've ever experienced.
[00:37:44] - [Speaker 0]
Like Another thing we should stop.
[00:37:45] - [Speaker 1]
I don't know, man. Like, I feel like you would have to get inebriated in order to enjoy this game. Like, you would have to fucking bust out a fat, fat fucking joint and
[00:38:01] - [Speaker 0]
just be like Tony?
[00:38:02] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. Fat fucking Tony, and just be like, it's time to play some LSD. And then you just sit down and you just fucking you just walk around in this shit and be like, look at
[00:38:11] - [Speaker 0]
that fish. That fish is cool, man, or something. I don't know.
[00:38:15] - [Speaker 1]
I I mean, I wouldn't I wouldn't even waste my time on it, but I feel like it needs to be talked about here because, like, as far as weird games go, it is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen.
[00:38:26] - [Speaker 0]
I'm a while you were talking, I was looking at screenshots, and, yeah, there's there's really weird shit. Like, the the landscapes don't always look like a typical landscape. There's one where it's just like it looks like static from a TV, like, when you switch to the wrong channel. Yeah. It's fucking weird, dude.
[00:38:43] - [Speaker 0]
There's a character in the game called dying woman who is just like a a skeleton in a bed.
[00:38:50] - [Speaker 1]
See, this is what I mean. Like, the game is fucking, like, weird, but also in a weird, like, hauntingly uneasy feeling kinda way. Like, I can't really explain it. If you wanna feel bad, throw this game on. That's my recommendation.
[00:39:07] - [Speaker 1]
If you're just having a bad day and wanna make it worse, throw in some LSD. The game I wonder the drug.
[00:39:13] - [Speaker 0]
Wonder what the fastest speedrun-in the world is for that game, if there's even a way to speedrun it, if it's not, like, all randomized or some shit.
[00:39:21] - [Speaker 1]
Man, I don't I don't know. I don't know why anybody would pride themselves in such a thing.
[00:39:26] - [Speaker 0]
That's true. Yeah. Hey. So LSD. Right?
[00:39:29] - [Speaker 0]
That's hell of a drug. Yeah. Just like Bomberman wars. Who? I love Bomberman.
[00:39:35] - [Speaker 0]
I love Bomberman. Who the fuck
[00:39:37] - [Speaker 1]
I love Bomberman too. I love him. I love him so much. I wanna kiss ASMR. Yeah.
[00:39:42] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Welcome to Bomberman ASMR. So who the fuck was like, hey. So Bomberman. Right?
[00:39:50] - [Speaker 0]
What if it was a tactics game? And they were like
[00:39:54] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. That's some crazy shit.
[00:39:56] - [Speaker 0]
But it's actually not bad. It's pretty cool. It's I mean, it's also on Saturn, but I think it's only the PS one version that has the English translation English fan translation. But, yeah, it's pretty cool. There's different classes for characters.
[00:40:13] - [Speaker 0]
The visuals look really cool. The spell animations are pretty cool. It's just I never in my wildest dreams would I have ever expected a Bomberman strategy RPG, but it exists. Also, there's a Bomberman racing game called Bomberman Fantasy Race.
[00:40:31] - [Speaker 1]
That's a cool game.
[00:40:32] - [Speaker 0]
They round the backs of Joey's or whatever they're called. That's kinda cool.
[00:40:37] - [Speaker 1]
Bomberman Kart is also a very weird game because it's like, it's like top down Bomberman. You're, like, walking around a town and shit first, and you gotta, like, do little quests and stuff to, like, unlock, like, the like, different races. It's it's a cool game. But it's funny because I looked up bomberman wars because I'm like, oh, bomberman tactics. That might be pretty fun.
[00:40:57] - [Speaker 1]
Wonder how long it is to beat. So I go to how long to beat bomberman wars. It's not even logged because it has an extreme retirement rate. People just, like, quitting this game. It could be because it might have been because, like, before it was translated, because I don't know if this has been translated for very long.
[00:41:18] - [Speaker 1]
So it could've just been being like, bomberman wars and throwing it on me like, oh, I don't know
[00:41:23] - [Speaker 0]
Japanese. I think it it was, like, 02/2016. I'm fairly certain is when it got translated. It was, yeah, 02/2016. Yeah.
[00:41:35] - [Speaker 0]
It's worth checking out, man. The the visuals are really fucking cool too. Like, there's some areas where you're underwater, some areas air not air yours. Some areas where you're on a areas where you're on a pirate ship. Yeah.
[00:41:49] - [Speaker 0]
I I need to I need to play through this. It looks fun.
[00:41:52] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah, man. Looks real good. My last what?
[00:41:57] - [Speaker 0]
What were you gonna say? I'm just I'm I'm being your hype man.
[00:42:01] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. My last one is absolutely out of control. Screaming mad George's paranormal escape. This game Paranormal. Doesn't make a lick of fucking sense, but it is
[00:42:20] - [Speaker 0]
No escape.
[00:42:21] - [Speaker 1]
It is metal as fuck. And, dude, it's like, I have it's so it's let me let me break this down for you. It's a first person pinball game, and it's in, like, this really insane, like, hellscape. Like because I guess, like, screaming mad George, I'd have to, like, look him up again. He, like Woah.
[00:42:51] - [Speaker 1]
He's like yeah. He's like some, like, special effects or something. Special effects artist, film director, and former musician. Emigrated to The United States where he's become known for his surreal, gory special effects. He worked on nightmare on Elm Street four.
[00:43:10] - [Speaker 1]
Actually, he worked on beyond the reanimator. And, yeah, he's, he's got some good special effects. I can tell you that. And this game, like, please, listeners, go look this game up and just see how fucked it looks. And, yeah, I've I've never heard of anything like this before.
[00:43:31] - [Speaker 1]
Like, you're it's in first person, and you're like, you can move forward on, like, I don't know, like, a track almost, and you can move back and forward. And you're, like, using, like, these skeletons as, like, a pinball, like, flaps, and you're shooting, like, this fireball. And it'll be like it'll give you, like, a mission objective. It'd be like, kill that monster, and it'd be like and then, like, as soon as you turn it on, it's just the most insane, like, industrial music playing.
[00:43:59] - [Speaker 0]
Holy fuck, dude.
[00:44:01] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. This is for sure one of the weirdest things I've come across. Never heard about it until I was, you know, just kinda, like, looking up, like, obscure PS one games and stuff. And, yeah, this stuck out like a sore thumb as something that's like, oh, this has to go in the in the weird category because it is weird, but let me tell you, it is a cool game. It's definitely something you should throw on and experience at least once because it's it's absolutely wild.
[00:44:32] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. This is pretty fucking freaky. Like, the the the the person themself, screaming mad George, he also looks or or they look pretty fucking freaky too. Holy shit. This is, this is pretty insane.
[00:44:49] - [Speaker 0]
Woah. What? There's a second alien crush game? That's cool.
[00:44:55] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. I mean, it may as well be alien crush in, like, first person because, like, it's kinda you know what? It kinda reminds me of that because he's like, you know how, like, alien crush has almost like that, like, Geiger looking feel to it? So does this, but, like, in this guy's style. Like, it's, like, just gore and nonsense.
[00:45:13] - [Speaker 1]
Like, that's awesome. It's, yeah, it's crazy. It's absolutely crazy. Please check it out.
[00:45:19] - [Speaker 0]
Please, sisters.
[00:45:20] - [Speaker 1]
Check it out. Yeah. Please. Please. Please.
[00:45:22] - [Speaker 1]
Please. Please. But, yeah, that's that's a that's a short list of some weird games for the PS one that we we feel you should check out. And, you know, I I'm sure there's a lot more that will come up at some point. We'll probably do another, another list of these because, you know, 4,000 games.
[00:45:47] - [Speaker 1]
Come on. There's some weird shit. There's gonna be some There's a
[00:45:50] - [Speaker 0]
lot of weird shit.
[00:45:50] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. There's gonna be some weird shit. But why don't we take a quick commercial break? And then when we come back, time for some random recommendation games. Let's fucking go.

[00:48:29] - [Speaker 1]

[00:48:40] - [Speaker 1]
He'd be like, it's probably not gonna do it because it's a Nintendo ad, but might do it on the table for
[00:48:44] - [Speaker 0]
a while.
[00:48:45] - [Speaker 1]
Again, you just have to go to Waluigi's floppy pickle emporium forward slash pickle emporium forward slash pickle pickle forward slash floppy forward slash christalive forward slash sunday sunday sunday, and leave a voice message.

[00:49:33] - [Speaker 1]

[00:50:01] - [Speaker 1]
It's Random Recommended Games. Alright. So random recommended games.
[00:50:19] - [Speaker 0]
Here we are.
[00:50:20] - [Speaker 1]
I would like tell you
[00:50:22] - [Speaker 0]
we are.
[00:50:22] - [Speaker 1]
We are the youth of the nation. Shout out to POD for making a comeback somehow. Oh, wait. Can we get a
[00:50:31] - [Speaker 0]
check on where POD is now?
[00:50:33] - [Speaker 1]
Like, on tour? Because I think they're on tour.
[00:50:37] - [Speaker 0]
I'm gonna look it up. POD band. Alright. Hold
[00:50:40] - [Speaker 1]
on. See if that that singer is still a Christian.
[00:50:44] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, This dude's name is Wuv Bernardo.
[00:50:55] - [Speaker 1]
I always thought it was Sonny for some reason.
[00:50:58] - [Speaker 0]
Oh, I didn't know they were a Christian new metal band. Okay.
[00:51:02] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. That's that's what I said. See if they're still Christian.
[00:51:07] - [Speaker 0]
Yes. Paul Joshua Sonny Sandoval. He is still a Christian, and he is still alive. So that's that's cool. He was born a year after me.
[00:51:15] - [Speaker 0]
Good for him.
[00:51:16] - [Speaker 1]
Good stuff. Forward slash Christ alive.
[00:51:18] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. I could could be him. Forward slash Petri Patchett.
[00:51:25] - [Speaker 1]
But, yeah, random recommended games. Today, I think I would like to bring to everyone's attention, kind of a a weird game that falls in with the rest of the stuff that we we were talking about today. It's another PS one game. It's not totally weird, though, and it's not, like, really, like, a hidden gem or anything, but wild nine, dude, is a really fun platformer. It's like an action platformer.
[00:51:50] - [Speaker 1]
It's by interplay. Same people that made I think it's by the same people that made earthworm gem. I'm not a % sure, though. Maybe should have looked this up before I recommend it. Well, I mean, I can recommend this all day long because
[00:52:05] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. You could.
[00:52:06] - [Speaker 1]
It's just a good I mean, it's it's a good ass game. Sorry. It is by Shiny Entertainment, and it's published by Interplay. So it's just kinda like the same publisher or whatever. But the cool thing about this game is that you you have, like, a, like, a shock gun that projects, like, this electricity beam.
[00:52:29] - [Speaker 1]
And what it does is it latches on to enemies, and you kinda have to, like, swing the, like, controller back and like, not the physical controller back and forth, but on the D pad or on the analog, you have to move it back and forth, and you need to beat the shit out of the, like, the enemies. And the weird thing is you can, like It's cool. Kill them in really weird ways. And on the cover of this game, it says torture your enemies because you actually can. Like, you could torture all the enemies.
[00:52:57] - [Speaker 1]
And it's just it's just a a weird fun platformer game. It does have a little bit of a difficulty spike, like, toward the middle of the game. But I I I highly recommend people to check this out because it is it is actually really cool. Oh, and fun fact, Tommy Telerico did the soundtrack to
[00:53:18] - [Speaker 0]
this. Gross. I I guess that could be cool. Hey. Sorry, Tommy.
[00:53:24] - [Speaker 0]
I bet he's real cool.
[00:53:27] - [Speaker 1]
All Tommies are
[00:53:27] - [Speaker 0]
cool. Just like I was hoping there'd be a Tommy in a POD, but there's not. It's sorry. It's it's Tra Daniels. His name is t r a a, Wuv Bernardo, Marcos Curiel, and Sunny Sandoval.
[00:53:45] - [Speaker 0]
POD, everybody.
[00:53:46] - [Speaker 1]
Oh my god. Yep. Alright, Aaron. What do you got for me?
[00:53:58] - [Speaker 0]
What I have for you is Azure dreams or Azure. I don't know how you're supposed
[00:54:02] - [Speaker 1]
to say it. Azure. I think you did that right, but I have always called it Azure.
[00:54:08] - [Speaker 0]
Like Azure dreams.
[00:54:10] - [Speaker 1]
Yep. Azure dreams turn into nightmares.
[00:54:14] - [Speaker 0]
They they always do. Hey.
[00:54:16] - [Speaker 1]
This is Canada. So
[00:54:19] - [Speaker 0]
This is the USMA, baby. Yeah. Azure Dreams. It's I don't I guess it's it's an RPG. It's weird.
[00:54:29] - [Speaker 0]
So it's, like, it's a little bit of, like, almost Pokemon kinda thing, almost a roguelike, and then mostly an RPG. Basically, you you play a character going through this tower of monsters is what's is what it's called. And, basically, you you run around a dungeon floor, find an elevator or whatever, go up a floor, and you keep doing that until you get to, like, a boss. And all along the way, you're collecting new equipment. It's kind of almost like a Mystery Dungeon game, but I'll I'll I'll get to that more in a little bit.
[00:55:04] - [Speaker 0]
But yeah. You so you go beat the monsters. You get better equipment, which better equipment helps you in in later floors and shit. You can also find monster eggs. So because you can bring I think they're called familiars.
[00:55:17] - [Speaker 0]
That's what the monsters are called. You can bring a familiar in with you, level it up. It can evolve and learn new attacks and shit. And all like, and when you're not in the dungeon, there's this hub town that you can upgrade so you can get new. You you can train.
[00:55:36] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. You can train your familiars so they're more powerful before you go into a dungeon. You can buy new items and and armor, and there's all sorts of other shit. You can there's, like, dating sim elements to it as well too. There's a there's a there's a casino in it as well too.
[00:55:52] - [Speaker 0]
That's pretty cool. Dude, it's there's a lot to it. There's also a Game Boy Color version, which I mean, they I think the big draw to that, obviously, is that it's it's eight bit, and they cut out, like, the the dating sim, like, the the hub town upgrading shit. It's just purely a dungeon crawler. So if you want more dungeon crawler, Game Boy Color version isn't too bad.
[00:56:16] - [Speaker 0]
But if you want the full fucking package, you want the whole hog in there. The PS one version, it's it's pretty cool. Pretty fun game.
[00:56:24] - [Speaker 1]
Hell yeah. That's a Konami game.
[00:56:27] - [Speaker 0]
Hell yeah. Konami. Fucking bring it back, bro.
[00:56:30] - [Speaker 1]
Interesting.
[00:56:30] - [Speaker 0]
Remake it. Reboot it. Yep. Give it DOS boot.
[00:56:34] - [Speaker 1]
DOS reboot. Main story, twenty five hours. It's manageable. It's manageable for an RPG. Completionist jumps up quite a bit to forty seven and a half hours, so there must be a ton of shit that you can do in this game.
[00:56:51] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. And it's it it is kind of a roguelike because because like I said, if you die, you start it all over, unless you get to, like, a certain point. There's there's checkpoints and shit as you go through the tower, but, you know, if you if you die, you reset at a checkpoint, which I guess isn't really a roguelike. Other games did that, like Sonic and shit. So forget the fucking roguelike shit.
[00:57:10] - [Speaker 1]
That's kind of interesting, though, for this type of game. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sounds sounds pretty good, man.
[00:57:18] - [Speaker 1]
It's a good wreck. Very good wreck.
[00:57:20] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah, man.
[00:57:22] - [Speaker 1]
Well, you know what? We're gonna keep this episode nice and tight. You know? We don't we don't always have to have to have these long banging episodes when we have these extremely talented individuals on our shows, and we just wanna pick their brains all night long. Sometimes it's gotta be short and sweet.
[00:57:38] - [Speaker 1]
You know? Let me pick that brain, baby. Yeah. Pick my brain. Pickle my brain, if you will.
[00:57:42] - [Speaker 0]
Pickle my oh, okay.
[00:57:44] - [Speaker 1]
Pickle me, Elmo. Now
[00:57:46] - [Speaker 0]
you're talking my my shade of Spanish. Okay.
[00:57:49] - [Speaker 1]

[00:58:42] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Yeah.
[00:58:43] - [Speaker 1]
We went
[00:58:43] - [Speaker 0]

[00:58:44] - [Speaker 1]
Double date in my mouth.
[00:58:46] - [Speaker 0]
Yeah. Double date. We talked about the Nintendo Switch direct. It's up on our YouTube channel now. Pretty cool.
[00:58:52] - [Speaker 0]
But, yeah, man. For now, we're gonna we're gonna move on move on to better greener pastures. Jerry needs to seek legal counsel for his size, his hot toiling divorce from Toadette, that money hungry bitch.
[00:59:06] - [Speaker 1]
Yeah. She's really shaken me to the cleaners. Yeah. And Aaron has to go get a new tablecloth so that he can cover up the fucking femboy grudge kid that's living under his table.
[00:59:16] - [Speaker 0]
He just he just needs a place to stay, man. I promise. He's only staying for one month. I promise.
[00:59:21] - [Speaker 1]
I'm from the grudge. Could
[00:59:25] - [Speaker 0]
you imagine if the grudge the femboy grudge kid that had Betty's voice? He's like, I need a place to stay and some some food.
[00:59:37] - [Speaker 1]
Alright. I guess that's it. I guess we'll see you on the next one. Show's canceled. Bye.
[00:59:47] - [Speaker 1]
See you never.
