Welcome to Remember 64, where this week we are back in the mod

00:00:32
scene with some new, Oh yeah that's right, new Nintendo 64

00:00:37
gaming. Hi everyone, welcome to the

00:00:40
show. Hello again to returning

00:00:42
listeners and viewers and welcome if this is your first

00:00:44
time joining us here on Remember 64.

00:00:47
We play and discuss the good, the bad, the ugly and everything

00:00:51
in between throughout the N64's library and more.

00:00:56
My name is David Petrangelo and on my spare time, I don't just

00:01:00
play retro games, I dive into retro retro, easy for me to say,

00:01:06
retro consoles and cartridges thwarting the bad guys with beak

00:01:10
Busters, gold feathers, and of course, puzzle pieces.

00:01:15
And of course, this week, Jiggy look back here once again.

00:01:18
Hello. Hello, How are you?

00:01:20
Yo-yo, yo, doing so good, doing so well.

00:01:23
Oh man, this is, you might even say the good, the bad, the ugly,

00:01:28
everything in between. Plus ultra, right?

00:01:31
Plus my here Academia fans plus Ultra.

00:01:33
Yes, that's exactly. We're going plus Ultra right

00:01:36
now. It's it's probably not as

00:01:39
abundantly obvious if, if you haven't, you know, checked the

00:01:41
show title or the notes or anything like that, but it's

00:01:44
not. This isn't a game that you can

00:01:46
find just on any N64 library at the moment.

00:01:50
This is this week, a very special episode because if

00:01:53
anyone has listened to the show for the last couple years, Jiggy

00:01:56
and I did an episode and played Smash Remix in early 2024.

00:02:03
I think it was was when the episode came out, which was

00:02:05
awesome because we wanted to jump into some mods because

00:02:07
there's so much out there now, whether it's for the N64 or

00:02:10
other consoles. And it just seems like people

00:02:13
are just creating amazing things and creating awesome stuff out

00:02:16
there. So now that we're able to get

00:02:18
back on sort of a regular schedule here in 2025, this was

00:02:21
one of the things we wanted to do.

00:02:23
We are playing probably the biggest release or one of the

00:02:27
biggest releases that Kerkomods has created.

00:02:30
Kerkomods you may have seen on YouTube, on Instagram, Twitter,

00:02:34
and Blue Sky, a bunch of other sort of everything you can.

00:02:37
You can find them on Huge Following doing amazing work

00:02:40
creating a bunch of Nintendo 64 mods, many of them around Mario

00:02:45
64 and Banjo Kazooie. This one in particular is an

00:02:48
epic project that's called Banjo Kazooie Nostalgia 64.

00:02:53
We're going to get into details of all of what that means, but

00:02:56
is essentially using the Banjo Kazooie framework and creating a

00:03:00
whole new game out of it. New worlds, new puzzles, new

00:03:03
characters and just building upon a bunch of really cool

00:03:08
ideas from other N64 games. Jiggy, this was, this was great

00:03:12
because Kirko, you know, I reached out to them and and

00:03:14
said, oh, yeah, I know this is coming out.

00:03:17
I feel like this would be great for us to cover.

00:03:19
Obviously, I would love to play it regardless.

00:03:21
And they were nice enough to send us an early copy of it

00:03:24
before it's publicly released in May of 2025.

00:03:28
And this is just something that we've been looking forward to

00:03:31
for a while. Absolutely shout out to Mark

00:03:34
Kirko. I I've talked and chatted with

00:03:36
him quite a few times about just random things.

00:03:41
We always comment on each other's YouTube polls.

00:03:43
We always like chat on Twitter. We like each other's posts.

00:03:46
Like we've had this like online friendship and so getting to and

00:03:50
I've played a lot of a lot of his mods.

00:03:52
You have, and you've streamed them and stuff too.

00:03:54
Like, yeah, you've played a lot of them.

00:03:56
It's yeah, they're they're super cool.

00:03:57
His work is just incredible. Taking that, like you said, the

00:04:01
the Banjo framework, this, this is almost this game.

00:04:06
If I had to describe it and sell it to anyone.

00:04:08
It's a celebration of Nintendo 64 titles.

00:04:13
And what better way to settle it than to throw Banjo into the

00:04:16
mix? You play as Banjo and you

00:04:18
explore Nintendo 64. That's what it is.

00:04:22
And then it sounds fantastic because it is fantastic.

00:04:26
This is also one of those ones where like I would, I would

00:04:29
encourage everyone to play it. I think first and foremost, I

00:04:31
would encourage everyone to to 1 support Kirko and, and, and all

00:04:35
the work that he's done, especially with something like

00:04:37
this 'cause it is very impressive and we'll get into

00:04:40
the details of all that as we go along.

00:04:41
But it's also one of those things where you can watch this

00:04:43
video and see some of the footage that we're gonna be

00:04:45
talking about in the world's in the gameplay.

00:04:47
And even this the the videos that he's constantly been

00:04:50
putting out about this, some of them are showing you little

00:04:53
tidbits of secrets and stuff. Again, something that we'll be

00:04:55
talking about, but also sort of showing you how to, you know,

00:04:58
sort of tips and tricks of how to get through some of the

00:05:00
world's. But this is one of those one of

00:05:02
those games that seen it is one thing, but playing it really

00:05:06
does actually make a huge difference.

00:05:09
And this is one of those things where, you know, you don't need

00:05:12
a physical cartridge to play it. You can emulate it from a ROM

00:05:16
that is available, but you can put this on an Everdrive 64,

00:05:21
which we both used in order to play it and play this

00:05:24
authentically, which is a huge difference with a lot of mods

00:05:27
out there, not all of them, but some.

00:05:29
It's just, oh, here's a ROM file, put it on your emulator,

00:05:32
play it whichever way you want. But there's, there is that

00:05:35
tactile feeling and like we've discussed in previous episodes,

00:05:39
especially with Banjo Kazooie, which is the previous episode on

00:05:42
your feed here, playing this game, playing anything Banjo

00:05:46
Kazooie, Banjo Tooie related is different with the N64

00:05:51
controller, regardless of how you play it.

00:05:53
And I do think that doing that really adds something to the

00:05:57
experience. So however you can play it and

00:06:00
if you can play it as authentically as possible, I do

00:06:03
think it will make a big difference.

00:06:05
I want to say that off the top because it's worth seeking out,

00:06:08
it's worth playing, watching, it's one thing, but getting your

00:06:10
hands on it and, and an authentic way or as authentic as

00:06:13
possible, I think is a is a big thing.

00:06:16
And I and you played it through that way as well, right?

00:06:19
Oh yeah, yeah, I play. I played it on Nintendo 64

00:06:22
hardware. That's that's the way to go.

00:06:24
I don't know, I feel like if, if you can play it on hardware, do

00:06:27
it. If you can't, obviously there's

00:06:28
other options, but there's something magical about playing

00:06:32
a quote UN quote new Banjo Kazooie game.

00:06:35
I know, I know. It's new, dude.

00:06:37
It's new like. It's pretty awesome.

00:06:41
Yeah, it's pretty awesome. And if anyone hasn't hasn't sort

00:06:45
of followed you followed you look back on YouTube or checked

00:06:47
in and stuff you you played through this whole thing or very

00:06:51
close to this whole thing in one sitting like a crazy person, but

00:06:55
also. I think I am.

00:06:56
I may very well be the only person on the planet right now

00:07:00
that has played Nostalgia 64 in its entirety like the main

00:07:04
story. Beat it in one sitting on live

00:07:07
stream. It took me 8 1/2 hours I think.

00:07:10
Yeah, this the stream like I, I, I sifted, I, I checked in a

00:07:13
couple times and you're streaming.

00:07:14
And then I, I looked at the, at the VOD, I think it was about 8

00:07:16
1/2 hours, so about 8 hours to get through it.

00:07:19
And that's 100% or close to 100% without doing some of the extra

00:07:24
things here and there that that. Are there was to my knowledge I

00:07:29
I did a lot, I did a lot. The only two things I really

00:07:33
didn't do. Oh OK, there are three things I

00:07:35
didn't do 1 is I didn't collect all the mumbo skulls.

00:07:39
I missed 2. Oh, how many were there?

00:07:41
I didn't know how many there were 'cause there was a lot.

00:07:43
There's like a. Yeah, there was a lot.

00:07:44
There was a bunch in each level. And I was like, I'm not gonna,

00:07:47
I'm not gonna do all those right now.

00:07:48
Maybe later. But like with the original game,

00:07:50
I don't think you need every single one.

00:07:53
You don't need them, but they're in fun.

00:07:56
Places. They're hidden in fun places.

00:07:58
So normally I wouldn't collect all of them, but he specifically

00:08:01
has a like mumbo tokens like collection and shows the level

00:08:05
with how many you got and how many you didn't.

00:08:08
And it's just irking, right? It just irks me.

00:08:11
And then there was a bonus world that I didn't do.

00:08:15
I got to and I saw it and I walked in and I'm like, guys,

00:08:19
I'm going to bed. It's like God knows what time

00:08:22
right now. I I was ready to like finish

00:08:25
that game and I and then I got to another world and I'm like,

00:08:28
all right, well, we can't do this right now guys.

00:08:30
I, I gotta I gotta go. I beat the main story, which is

00:08:33
what I really wanted to do yes and yeah.

00:08:37
And then I found out there was one more secret that I didn't

00:08:39
do, which totally answered the question and hopefully we'll

00:08:42
talk about that later. Yeah, let's get let's get into

00:08:44
it after cuz there's a couple of things that I wasn't able to get

00:08:47
to the secret or the the end, the sort of extra ending sort of

00:08:50
speak that you just I didn't get to that.

00:08:51
I just didn't have time. But I did get to the point where

00:08:54
it where it was accessible. I did not play this all in one

00:08:56
sitting. I did not play this all in one

00:08:58
sitting. I definitely did not.

00:08:59
No one probably should. Probably not.

00:09:02
For your own mental and physical health, you probably should not

00:09:05
follow our example, or at least Jiggy's example in this

00:09:07
particular case. Yeah, it was like 4:00 AM when I

00:09:10
went to bed. Oh, was it really?

00:09:12
Yeah. Dude.

00:09:13
And I was like, why did I do that?

00:09:15
What did I just do to myself? The answer is because this game

00:09:18
was awesome. Yes, ultimately, at the end of

00:09:20
the day, regardless of of everything we're talking about,

00:09:23
it is an excellent game. Before we get into too, too much

00:09:27
detail, I want to make sure that I do this off the top and remind

00:09:31
everyone that they can send us a voicemail.

00:09:34
This is something that I've put out in social media and

00:09:37
encourage people to sort of give us thoughts on the show on

00:09:42
episodes we've done episodes they want us to do games that

00:09:46
they love or don't love things we might have missed that

00:09:49
totally fine. If you want to correct us along

00:09:50
the way and stuff, there's lots of that opportunity, especially

00:09:52
if I'm talking. So feel free to do that, but

00:09:55
it's at voice cast dot app slash remember 64, so pretty easy to

00:10:00
find. It's also on social media, so

00:10:03
you can find it there too. And I post it every once in a

00:10:05
while encouraging people to send things in.

00:10:08
Honestly, it could be about anything related to the 64 and

00:10:12
to the show and stuff. It doesn't even have to be about

00:10:14
an upcoming or current episode or anything like that.

00:10:16
So feel free to to share your thoughts.

00:10:19
It's completely free. You can do it on your phone, you

00:10:20
can do it on the computer, you can do whatever you want.

00:10:22
It's just through a browser and you can just use whatever

00:10:25
microphone in that particular situation you're on.

00:10:28
And the quality is actually pretty good.

00:10:29
So I wanted to play one as an example just to show everybody

00:10:33
what it's like and, and we can sort of have a little fun with

00:10:37
with what this is. And I'm going to hit play.

00:10:40
We're going to listen to it and we're going to do a little chat.

00:10:43
Jake from Nunavut here. For some reason, you guys keep

00:10:47
talking about the Nintendo 64 like every week.

00:10:51
Not quite sure why. But besides the N64, what is

00:10:55
your guy's favorite console of all time?

00:10:59
Well, I don't know if anyone knows, but that is a certain

00:11:03
Jake that we may or may not have had on this show before.

00:11:05
So hello Jake, how are you from not from none of us.

00:11:08
If anyone doesn't know where none of it is, it is the the

00:11:10
deep north or the far north of Canada.

00:11:12
And Jake is actually probably lives on like half hour 40

00:11:17
minutes from where I sit right now.

00:11:19
So if you want to hear more of Jake and his and his fun times,

00:11:23
press be to cancel. Is his show.

00:11:24
And he was also on her Superman 64 and paperboy episodes as

00:11:28
well. But I think that's a good little

00:11:31
sort of added bonus thing to, to a episode that is sort of an

00:11:35
added bonus in itself. So Jiggy, I think we've talked

00:11:38
about this a little bit before off and on.

00:11:40
I think you know what my answer is.

00:11:41
I, I suspect I have, I have a suspicion what yours is.

00:11:44
But aside from the N64, if there is another one, what is the

00:11:49
runner up or even ahead of the N64 for favorite consoles for

00:11:53
you? Nothing's ahead of the N64, but

00:11:57
if I had to pick, which by the way, I know yours is Super

00:12:00
Nintendo, but if I had to pick, it's kind of tough.

00:12:08
But honestly, I'd probably go with the GameCube.

00:12:11
That's what I was gonna say. That's what I was thinking it

00:12:12
would be. I, there's, there's a couple

00:12:14
consoles that I hold in very, very high regard, but I find

00:12:19
myself when I'm not playing my N64, I'm often playing my

00:12:22
Nintendo GameCube. And in addition to that, I

00:12:28
actually play my Switch quite a bit too.

00:12:30
I feel like I cycled between those three and yeah, Nintendo

00:12:34
for life, I guess. I know.

00:12:36
I have Sega consoles, I have Xbox consoles.

00:12:38
Like I love the Genesis, I love Dreamcast, but I just always

00:12:43
default to Nintendo and I'm I don't know.

00:12:47
I don't know why. There's something about I I do

00:12:49
think that at least for me, especially with the Super

00:12:51
Nintendo, it is definitely a big nostalgia part of it for sure.

00:12:55
For the SNES, it was my first console.

00:12:57
I had it even before I had the original Game Boy.

00:13:00
I think the only thing that would rival for me would

00:13:02
probably be I have the Game Boy Color or Advance because I just

00:13:05
played it so much growing up. And I would say probably Advance

00:13:09
because all my Game Boy Color and original Game Boy games

00:13:12
worked on it anyway. So it was the one that I

00:13:14
probably ended up playing the most.

00:13:16
I still have it still works all this.

00:13:17
It's great. So that would, that would be the

00:13:20
the, if you want to handhelds are considered consoles in my

00:13:22
mind. But if you want to talk about

00:13:24
just home consoles, probably the SNES and then definitely one of

00:13:28
the Xboxes, 'cause I just play them the most out of out of any

00:13:30
of the sort of more modern ones. But you know, I, I, I've been

00:13:35
chastised before in the show by you and others that the Super

00:13:38
Nintendo is my favorite console despite having and, and, and

00:13:42
basically producing a Nintendo 64 podcast myself.

00:13:46
But I will say over the last, I guess it's been about 2 1/2 to

00:13:50
three years of doing the show. I already love this console, but

00:13:55
I do like it more now than I did.

00:13:56
I will say like, there, there you go.

00:13:58
I always liked it. It was always something I was

00:14:00
fascinated by as I got older 'cause I know that I didn't dig

00:14:03
into all these extra games that like you, you know, seem to have

00:14:06
grown up with and stuff that I never did based on all the

00:14:09
awesome stories that you have of how you got a lot of those.

00:14:12
Oh yeah. Yeah, it's great.

00:14:14
Story for every game. Exactly and I have none so.

00:14:18
Yes, well. You know, a real party, you know

00:14:20
like that. People are always biased to the

00:14:22
console that they really, like, grew up with, right?

00:14:24
Sure. And so the N64 is that for me

00:14:26
because I'm an early 90s baby, you know, So I grew up like this

00:14:30
is what I played when I was a little kid.

00:14:32
And then the GameCube, probably just because it fell in like my

00:14:35
teenage years, right? Like pre.

00:14:37
And it was next in line, right in timing.

00:14:38
Yeah, it was. Next to mine, so that's probably

00:14:40
why that's my my second favorite and that whole generation of

00:14:44
like PS2, Xbox. I just the game keeps what I

00:14:47
had. Yep, Yep.

00:14:48
And for me it was the Xbox, right.

00:14:49
So it's just one of those things, right.

00:14:50
That's that's kind. Of I will say I do really

00:14:52
appreciate the Dreamcast, but the Dreamcast growing up was

00:14:55
this like mythical thing that I'm like I saw everywhere but I

00:14:58
never had. I was like hardcore.

00:15:00
Hence the Sonic poster in the background for this.

00:15:02
You can see I was hardcore Sega, like, Oh my gosh, like.

00:15:08
You love your Sonic. Great.

00:15:09
Like you. You love those?

00:15:11
Yeah. I love Sonic.

00:15:12
I loved Golden Axe. Golden Axe too.

00:15:15
Like I had, I had a thing for so many Sega Genesis titles and I

00:15:19
really wanted a Sega Genesis because my friend had it.

00:15:22
Like that's what I played. And then I only owned Nintendo

00:15:26
consoles growing up, and at first I was like, Oh my gosh.

00:15:29
But then it's like it all worked out.

00:15:32
It all works out. Yeah, it's all.

00:15:33
If I didn't have that N64, I wouldn't have gotten Banjo,

00:15:36
which is the other side of the room.

00:15:38
Exactly. There you go.

00:15:39
Yeah. The other side of the room and

00:15:40
the entire other side of your brain, too.

00:15:42
It's just all yeah, it's all that, right.

00:15:43
Yeah. As it should be.

00:15:46
OK, so just. Yeah.

00:15:47
So voice cast dot app slash. Remember 64, toss us into your

00:15:51
thoughts and feels and, and all that.

00:15:53
And while you're at it, give us a a follow on and subscribe on

00:15:57
YouTube, obviously rating on your podcast app of choice and

00:16:01
all those fun things following us on social media and

00:16:04
everything as well. So that is where you can find

00:16:07
us. And it's, I'm man, I'm so on top

00:16:10
of things. You got it.

00:16:12
I'm so good at what I do everyone, but you know who else

00:16:15
is better at what they do? 1 Jiggy, look back at the stuff

00:16:17
you do, but also we're talking about Kirko.

00:16:19
Let's talk about nostalgia 64. Let's get going in this.

00:16:23
I'm just going to play a little bit of sound off the top to get

00:16:25
people, give people an idea of what this sounds like and sort

00:16:29
of how they've created the intro to the game and done something

00:16:35
kind of unique. And again, feel free to watch

00:16:36
this as well where we're talking about it 'cause we're going to

00:16:38
kind of comment on some of the things that we see in the levels

00:16:41
and stuff like that. But this is pretty much like the

00:16:43
beginning of the game here for the first little bit.

00:16:51
New new voices, new sort of like, does it feel good to just

00:17:00
hear your Kazooie and banjo talk?

00:17:26
I love it. A lot of inside jokes, which

00:17:28
we'll get to, a lot of sort of callbacks and things like that.

00:17:31
So basically the game begins with what is it, Nick's Nintendo

00:17:41
60? Ford. 60 Ford Nintendo SYXTYFN

00:17:48
Ford. Or is it NN 60 N?

00:17:52
64 that's. What it?

00:17:53
Is which is sort of like this like wizard type character that

00:17:57
is telling Banjo Kazooie you need to help save the 64.

00:18:01
Essentially, like this is sort of the setup of the game and

00:18:04
what you do is, which is already such a great original epic idea

00:18:09
in itself, is you dive into the cartridge and the console of the

00:18:14
N64 and Nostalgia 64 and you enter different worlds like you

00:18:19
do in Banjo Kazooie and Tui. But each world is represented by

00:18:23
a classic and very well known Nintendo 64 game.

00:18:29
Where did where did you start 'cause I think that's something

00:18:31
too is that all of these are different.

00:18:33
All of these games are completely different so.

00:18:36
I have to 1st backpedal a little bit because of that first

00:18:39
opening sequence right after we used the flight pad at the very

00:18:42
beginning. You meet N64, you hit the flight

00:18:45
pad, you fly off and then it shows the classic like get in or

00:18:48
get out with an N64 console. That is one of the most high res

00:18:52
models I've ever seen that can actually run on a physical N64.

00:18:57
It looked so good, like it is like a high quality.

00:19:02
Like even on my N64 we're watching clips of emulation,

00:19:06
which looks a little bit sharper.

00:19:08
It looks better. Well, looks a lot sharper.

00:19:09
Looks better. It's a lot sharper.

00:19:10
It's at the colors are brighter thing, but that that's what you

00:19:13
get. And this is playing off of

00:19:14
Kirko's YouTube page as well. So this is this is that.

00:19:18
But yeah, we both played on the actual N64 that we said.

00:19:21
Still looks great on that though honestly.

00:19:24
I agree it looks fantastic. I was, I was like, holy crap,

00:19:27
this is amazing. You run around.

00:19:29
You can run around on the controller and stuff if you

00:19:31
want, which is pretty epic. But anyways, to answer your

00:19:34
question, once you get in, you have the option of going one of

00:19:38
two directions. Directly behind you is Yoshi's

00:19:41
Story and then to the right is Mario 64.

00:19:45
And essentially these are like giant cartridges that are

00:19:49
floating in the air that you can run up and you can jump into,

00:19:52
and then you go into that world. Now I am stupid, so I didn't

00:19:59
know Yoshi's Story was even there.

00:20:01
And I just immediately went straight right to Mario 64.

00:20:06
And so I jumped right into Baba on Battlefield, which honestly

00:20:10
was a pretty cool way to start. But I think.

00:20:11
That's actually. Is that the first one I played

00:20:13
too? I it might have been.

00:20:16
Yoshi's Story seems like the intended first place to start

00:20:20
'cause it's essentially the spiral mountain.

00:20:21
Like get the extra honeycomb pieces.

00:20:24
Yeah, so actually that's a good place for me to pull up some

00:20:26
notes that Kirko actually sent me about about the game.

00:20:30
So he wrote here specifically actually to remind me of the

00:20:35
Yoshi story. One.

00:20:35
I'll get to more details of that that he sent me as well, but it

00:20:39
says in early 2021 I already had all of the levels so I thought

00:20:44
about making a small hub world to bring them all together and

00:20:47
renamed it BK Nostalgia 64. But there wasn't much more

00:20:50
ambition than just adding the Yoshi Story level and little

00:20:53
else. However, the project grew and a

00:20:55
programmer joined, so we expanded everything.

00:20:58
So Yoshi Story was one of the ones that was, you know, like

00:21:01
like everything in this, it's a very original idea and

00:21:04
everything. But Yoshi Story feels really

00:21:05
original too, because it's also, I think it's the first level in

00:21:10
the actual Yoshi Story game that's recreated in 2D while

00:21:14
using the classic Banjo Kazooie control scheme.

00:21:17
So also something that's really cool is the fact that there are

00:21:20
two D elements in this and the Yoshi Story 1 is short.

00:21:23
It's a bite size level, but like you said, it's it's still

00:21:27
something where you have some collectibles and stuff like the

00:21:29
honeycombs and stuff. Anyways, just reminding me of

00:21:31
that. Yeah, it's a good, it's a good

00:21:35
first place to start and get some extra health.

00:21:37
Well, and it sort of gets your footing, get your footing and

00:21:40
stuff too, like, oh, this is kind of what we're doing.

00:21:41
This is kind of the idea of this and stuff so.

00:21:43
It definitely seems like the intention, but apparently we

00:21:46
we're both like, Nah, we're going right into Mars 64, right

00:21:49
to the right. And it's a great it's also a

00:21:52
great first level. I mean, it obviously takes some

00:21:56
liberties. It's not a one to one recreation

00:21:58
of Baba on battlefield, but it's pretty faithful it's.

00:22:01
Pretty close, yeah. I would say it's probably 85%

00:22:06
there. And then obviously it's it's

00:22:07
Banjo Ified. So there's a, there's a few new

00:22:09
things just to make it a little more interesting and complement

00:22:13
Banjo's move set. But yeah, the structure of the

00:22:16
level is pretty much the same and it's it's awesome to hear

00:22:20
all of the different N64 games represented in the banjo sound

00:22:25
font. That's that's actually.

00:22:26
Here, let's, let's let's listen to that cause like the musical

00:22:29
play while we're watching this, like just hearing that in Mario

00:22:41
64 essentially or almost Mario 64 is like.

00:22:46
It hits hard. What a song, what a song.

00:22:51
What? A song.

00:22:52
Yeah, we'll, we'll talk more about the music as you go along

00:22:54
too 'cause it's great. Like, like, like it.

00:22:56
Every stage has its own rendition of what that original

00:23:00
tune is and it's sounds amazing. So, yeah, so, so what's really

00:23:05
cool about this and, and, and also what's actually very

00:23:08
original about the Mario 64 level is that it's actually a

00:23:11
set of levels. There's three different stages

00:23:14
from Mario 64 within that cartridge that you jump into.

00:23:19
This is one of them obviously, and I keep forgetting all the

00:23:22
names to these but Wamps. Fortress and I'm sure I'm going

00:23:26
to say Jolly Rogers Lagoon. Wait, Jolly Roger Bay?

00:23:30
Bay. What is it?

00:23:31
Isn't it Wamps Fortress? Jolly Roger Bay?

00:23:35
Yeah, Jolly Roger. Bay, OK, yeah, Lagunas toohe Bay

00:23:38
I I guess I was just immediately like, Oh no, it's not Jolly

00:23:40
Roger, but. Yeah, Jolly Roger Bay.

00:23:43
Yeah, I was right. Yeah.

00:23:46
So these are all levels that if you've played Mario 64 at least

00:23:49
a couple times or a handful of times, which many listeners and

00:23:52
viewers probably have at this point, you'll kind of just

00:23:54
automatically know, like, oh, I have to go left here.

00:23:58
Oh, there's probably going to be some way to unlock this little

00:24:00
area or whatever. And some of it is almost exactly

00:24:05
the same. Like you have to do a very

00:24:06
similar task to get that jiggy or to get that collectible or

00:24:10
whatever. But there's a lot of small

00:24:12
touches that are thrown in in a lot of these levels.

00:24:14
This is it's not just this one and I don't know, I just I

00:24:18
wanted to like not just because I could we could sit here and

00:24:22
say like, hey, I found everything in the stage when we

00:24:24
when we were talking, talking about the game, but like I just

00:24:26
was drawn to find everything that I could because I wanted to

00:24:31
see what was created here. I wanted to see how they did

00:24:37
something so unique with this because like right now we're

00:24:41
watching Banjo and Kazooie go into what looks like the classic

00:24:46
original Mario castle that you would go into in at the end of

00:24:50
each stage or most stages in the original Super Mario Brothers.

00:24:54
And all of a sudden you're in a 2D platforming area collecting

00:24:58
notes and eggs and stuff. And when I first saw this,

00:25:02
because I played like, like we just said, I played this before

00:25:04
the Yoshi Story 1. So I had no idea that anything

00:25:06
would ever go into like a 2D space.

00:25:08
I was like, whoa, this is like, it's a cool idea.

00:25:11
And then you jump out of the castle and you're back into the

00:25:14
into the world again and you're doing sort of what picking up

00:25:16
where you left off kind of thing.

00:25:17
And it's just those little touches don't even need to be

00:25:21
there. But it's fun because one, it's a

00:25:23
callback nostalgia for other games and other franchises as

00:25:26
well. But like it's just an original,

00:25:29
an extra original idea to bring to a game that never had this

00:25:34
previously or didn't have this in this way previously.

00:25:36
Like it's just, I love these touches and even though there's

00:25:39
several 2D representations in this one you may expect would

00:25:43
end up be my favorite eventually.

00:25:45
But they never felt old because they were all doing something

00:25:49
different and new and representing different games and

00:25:52
franchises and they did it in their own way.

00:25:54
I I thought it was great. I don't know if if you found

00:25:56
them to be great as well. Yeah, no, they're pretty

00:26:00
awesome. It's something that Kirko is

00:26:04
done in other mods as well, right?

00:26:07
And it's kind of it's a treat. It's a treat to find and

00:26:12
experience different ones in jiggies of time.

00:26:15
There's a few like Zelda ones and it doesn't.

00:26:17
It goes even as far as like and in this one too.

00:26:21
Not only 2D side scrolling but later on there will be like

00:26:25
classic overhead like Zelda style like overworld stuff.

00:26:30
And the Bomberman one has one like that too.

00:26:32
Like old school Bomberman style. Yeah.

00:26:34
Yeah, there's some really cool stuff like that, and Kirko has

00:26:37
done that with other mods before that are always like themed

00:26:40
around whatever, whatever we're playing.

00:26:42
It's just a really unique idea. And Banjo being a 3D game

00:26:49
weirdly translates super cool to like a 2D experience because we

00:26:52
never got, we never got a 2D banjo like that.

00:26:56
And it's not that like there's a huge desire or anything.

00:26:58
It's just like different. It's yeah, it's cool.

00:27:02
That's what it is. And, and like we talk, we, we,

00:27:05
it's sitting here, we've, we've, we've referenced this already in

00:27:08
the previous Banjo Kazooie episode.

00:27:09
But we did play the GBA versions or GBA counterparts to Banjo

00:27:13
Kazooie, which you'll hear soon if you're listening to this one

00:27:16
of this releases. But we played those and those

00:27:19
are sort of like a 2 1/2 D type thing.

00:27:21
So in a way they tried it there, but this is different because it

00:27:25
just, I don't know, it hits different one because it's, you

00:27:27
know, referencing old games and styles and stuff like that.

00:27:30
But it's just really, it's a really interesting way to sort

00:27:33
of bring things to light in a different way.

00:27:35
And I, I, I don't want to dwell on it too, too much, but it is

00:27:38
something that surprised me because I did play a couple of

00:27:40
his other mods before I booted this up, but I never got to any

00:27:44
of the 2D ones. I just sort of dabbled in those,

00:27:46
which now I definitely am going to go back and play more of them

00:27:50
for. Longer.

00:27:51
It's definitely something that's a little more hidden in other

00:27:54
games. I feel like this one hits you

00:27:56
with it right off the bat. It does and in a lot of the

00:27:59
stages, a lot of and a couple of times at least you actually need

00:28:02
to go through them in order to get to a jiggy or a honeycomb or

00:28:06
something like that. So there you you have to do it

00:28:09
if you want to get as many notes or items or any of the

00:28:13
collectibles as as you can. So those are really cool.

00:28:17
The one thing I really, really want to mention, and it's

00:28:19
because I discovered it in this level first and I I think

00:28:24
Bottles is a bad ass or he's a troublemaker or something.

00:28:28
Because every time you find a recognizable boss or large enemy

00:28:35
that you would see in what game this particular stage is

00:28:39
representing, not just the Mario 64 ones, there's a little pinned

00:28:43
note beside each of them. The Pokémon level has it.

00:28:47
All the Mario ones have it. Name it.

00:28:50
They all have one and it says bottle.

00:28:52
Bottles was here I'm pretty sure is what it says and pretty

00:28:57
pretty sure Bottles is wreaking havoc and we didn't know it

00:29:00
across the N64. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:29:03
Whether he was doing it before this mod or not is debatable,

00:29:05
but he's certainly, he's certainly a troublemaker in this

00:29:09
in this game. I actually really appreciated it

00:29:11
because Bottles is in fact the main enemy.

00:29:15
Yeah, he is the main protagonist in this game, which is so

00:29:20
refreshing to not have to fight Grunty at the end.

00:29:23
Yes, in a Banjo game, yes. And it was it was an awesome

00:29:28
final boss sequence, which we'll get to a little bit later, but

00:29:31
it was, Yeah, it was. It was hilarious.

00:29:34
It what's great is that like I it's almost seems I mean there's

00:29:36
lots of Easter eggs in this. The game itself is almost like a

00:29:39
giant Easter egg and in a lot of ways.

00:29:40
But when I first discovered that, I was like, what's this

00:29:44
little thing on the ground? And I zoomed in on it, I was

00:29:46
like, are you kidding me? This is hilarious.

00:29:49
This is a great way to bring this guy, a character that I

00:29:51
always have always enjoyed, into this game.

00:29:53
This is amazing. And then it all kind of comes

00:29:56
around full circle in a way. So it's great.

00:29:59
I thought that was a a nice touch.

00:30:02
So yeah, so the Mario 64 levels, you go through that.

00:30:05
I'm going to skip out in the video a little bit and try and

00:30:07
find other ones and stuff, but yeah, Bottles was here.

00:30:11
There it is. It's so great.

00:30:14
Oh, and all the enemies like appear to be dead.

00:30:18
They're they're basically dead, yeah.

00:30:20
Like there's a few, there's a few with like stars around their

00:30:25
head or or whatever comparable thing.

00:30:27
Yeah, I think. I think game.

00:30:28
Might have that I think. Wizpig I think had Diddy Kong

00:30:32
electric guitars from like DK. Is that what it was?

00:30:34
Oh man, I missed. That yeah, he had, they were

00:30:36
stars, but they were like his electric guitar, right?

00:30:39
And so he had those around him like he was knocked out.

00:30:41
Actually this is but I wanted to show that.

00:30:43
Yeah, but King Babam looks like he's just straight up dead.

00:30:46
Wait, he's got, he's got XS for eyes like usually in cartoons is

00:30:50
like a sign of like, oh, this character's dead.

00:30:52
Yeah, exactly. So, you know, some are still

00:30:56
alive, but a lot of them are taking out.

00:30:58
Yeah, there's even things like this, like this level, if you're

00:31:01
watching right now, you go into on on the inside of of the area

00:31:05
in the in that stage that we're talking about and there's just a

00:31:08
whole bunch of Nintendo and 64 references.

00:31:11
It's just built out of items you would recognize from whether

00:31:15
it's advertisements, other games, iconic sort of, you know,

00:31:18
you have the Majora's Mask there while also having this, which

00:31:23
we're looking at right now is all these people that were part

00:31:25
of the Patreon that helped support Kirko through this.

00:31:28
I love little touches like that as well because you got to, you

00:31:32
got to sort of, you know, shout out the people to help make it

00:31:34
happen. So yeah, I'm going to shout out

00:31:35
to Clifford Long Head because there's someone who's like

00:31:39
really active in my community and they sat through a majority,

00:31:43
if not almost the entire stream with me.

00:31:47
And yeah, they were on that, They were on that and they were

00:31:49
like guiding me a little bit. That's awesome.

00:31:51
They had some some insight. So it's pretty cool.

00:31:53
So shout out to Clifford. Nice, nice.

00:31:55
Yeah, it's really, it's really cool to see stuff like this

00:31:57
like, you know, there's not there isn't a version like of

00:32:00
the of this sort of like area in any other game and stuff.

00:32:03
And it's just another fun way to add somewhere nostalgia to a

00:32:07
game that's already full of that.

00:32:08
So OK, so we sort of start off in this area.

00:32:11
We we can skip ahead to any other worlds.

00:32:12
Is there another one like in particular that you make want to

00:32:15
make sure that we talk about for sure?

00:32:17
Because I think in general the game, like if we're talking

00:32:20
about gameplay and stuff, it is you go in each world, you

00:32:23
collect 9 Jiggies instead of 10, but there's still 100 notes in

00:32:28
each one. So it is a very standard way.

00:32:30
And that we mentioned before, there's a few more, I mean, I

00:32:34
think a lot more of the tokens to collect throughout the game.

00:32:38
I think there's got to be at least I don't even know, I don't

00:32:41
even want to say what the minimum is per stage, but

00:32:43
there's way more. And then there's a couple

00:32:45
transformations that you that you end up using and stuff,

00:32:47
which we can get to too. But I I was very impressed right

00:32:52
off the beginning, right off the bat.

00:32:54
Pacific World I I will say my favorite worlds.

00:32:59
Yeah, yeah. And I'll just, I'll just say

00:33:01
like the next World that I would love to chat about a little bit.

00:33:04
Let's do it. Goldeneye.

00:33:05
Yes, Goldeneye was was an awesome world.

00:33:08
Yes, I'm gonna pull that up so we can watch it.

00:33:11
So this is another. So after you collect, just like

00:33:14
with the other games, when you collect a certain amount of

00:33:16
notes, you can open doors that will lead you to other worlds.

00:33:20
In this particular area you have Bomberman 64, Diddy Kong Racing

00:33:23
and Goldeneye. Goldeneye is also the first one

00:33:27
I went to in this in this area. I was tempted to go to Diddy

00:33:29
Kong, but I was like. Right to Diddy Kong, but I

00:33:32
thought Goldeneye actually was better.

00:33:34
I agree. I agree.

00:33:36
I think the whole presentation of it, which again we got to go

00:33:39
to the sound. So very classic menu music from

00:33:51
Goldeneye sort of semi recreated in this and you go through it,

00:33:54
you can go through and flip through the whole briefing of

00:33:56
what you need to do all written in in a very funny way, just

00:34:00
like the rest of the Banjo Kazooie typically is.

00:34:02
So this is a mash up of what I think 3 Goldeneye levels that

00:34:08
again, if you've played Goldeneye more than a handful of

00:34:11
times or kind of forever since the beginning like myself,

00:34:14
you'll recognize each one of these and they are incredibly

00:34:18
recreated in this. Yeah, they're pretty accurate.

00:34:22
It's mostly the dam. It's mostly the level of the

00:34:25
dam. And then we also get the is it

00:34:29
just called the facility or is it?

00:34:31
I think so, yeah. The lab or whatever it is, it's.

00:34:35
It's facility in the in the multiplayer.

00:34:40
I can't remember if that's if it's called the same when you

00:34:42
sort of select it from the single player menu or not.

00:34:44
Yeah, I don't remember. Yeah, anyways.

00:34:46
But it was, yeah, it was a treat to go through this one.

00:34:51
It felt like I was exploring and finding new little things cause

00:34:57
Goldeneye is not a platformer. So this one just felt really

00:35:00
like, cause a lot of a lot of the games we do play have a

00:35:04
platforming feel or they are platformers.

00:35:07
Yes. So this is like, this is a game.

00:35:10
This is a game that's totally different.

00:35:13
It's not a platform in the slightest, it's an FPS.

00:35:16
So getting to play an FPS with silly banjo controls just feels

00:35:20
awesome. And just the the additional

00:35:23
things they put in, like right now he's looking to sync up the

00:35:28
satellite dish with the comms. So it's like you're beak busting

00:35:32
sync buttons on the wall to get this satellite dish to drop a

00:35:36
jiggy. It's awesome and you progress

00:35:39
through the level and there's little things.

00:35:41
Probably like one of the best missions in the game.

00:35:44
In my opinion. You have to look for Nintendo 64

00:35:48
console bundles. Yes, Oh my God.

00:35:51
You find like a big box with a console and a game inside.

00:35:54
I believe there's a Mario one. There's a Donkey Kong 1, and

00:35:58
actually I don't remember the other one.

00:36:00
Maybe it was Zelda. It might have been, or maybe it

00:36:02
might have been. I ended up being Goldeneye.

00:36:04
I'll, I'll find it. We'll, we'll get there Because

00:36:05
because it's in. You know, I think, I think it

00:36:07
was Goldeneye. That makes it so much more

00:36:08
sense. So this one's Mario.

00:36:11
Yeah, Mario. I'll find the other ones as we

00:36:13
go. I don't even know.

00:36:15
But you find these big boxes. You find these big boxes and you

00:36:18
don't really know what they're for either, right?

00:36:20
Like you're just like, oh, that's a collectible.

00:36:21
It's funny, and it kind of talks to you like a lot of other items

00:36:24
do, which is always a nice touch.

00:36:25
I love that that's also put in there.

00:36:28
There's the Mario one. Yeah.

00:36:29
And it just tells you like, hey, and then you kind of have to

00:36:31
find out. Yeah, it has like a, it says

00:36:34
like a catch phrase from the advertising that says get into

00:36:36
it, like get into it, which is great.

00:36:39
Again, all these small touches that really like make this

00:36:43
nostalgia 64 game what it is is those.

00:36:46
Little touches you can find N64D in a lot of levels and he'll

00:36:51
give you hints on like where to find jiggies and things.

00:36:54
Yep, or how to like unlock a door or something like that.

00:36:56
Like I, I think he's in all, if not most of the stages and

00:37:00
actually in one of them, I think it ended up being the Bomberman

00:37:04
one maybe, or maybe the, Oh no, the poke, I think the Pokémon

00:37:06
snap one, I think I, I found him and I was like, oh, OK, that

00:37:09
really helped. That was, that was good.

00:37:10
And it's, it's not just there to sort of tell you something

00:37:12
goofy. Like it actually told me, oh,

00:37:15
this is what I need to do. And I think it actually really

00:37:18
ended up leading me to the, to the end of the stage and to

00:37:21
solving it all and stuff. So.

00:37:23
By the way, we didn't talk about it, but the health is not

00:37:26
honeycombs in this. It's actually N64 logos.

00:37:30
Yeah, the actual N, the three DN.

00:37:32
Yeah, the actual N it like pops out of enemies and stuff and

00:37:35
lands in front of you. Yeah, again, it's a beautiful

00:37:37
little. Sprite like it is, it's it's

00:37:39
very clean, it looks really cool.

00:37:41
It never feels like out of place because everything in this game

00:37:44
is just having fun. Anyways.

00:37:47
Yeah, I, I think the golden eye one is, is really cool because

00:37:50
like you said, I didn't actually really know what to expect

00:37:52
because I didn't, I didn't really.

00:37:54
I mean, I saw a couple of the trailers that Kirko released and

00:37:56
sort of sort of hyping up that this was coming out and stuff.

00:37:58
But I always I was thinking like, OK, so we played the Mario

00:38:01
level. I played Yoshi story at this

00:38:03
point it went to 2D, which I hadn't experienced in his

00:38:05
previous mod. So I'm like, are they going to

00:38:08
make me do an FPS with Banjo Kazooie?

00:38:11
Like. Well I mean it's possible.

00:38:14
I think it it's more likely if if they crack the code and got

00:38:17
2E we would have had legitimately just an FBS.

00:38:20
Right, right. So I was almost half expecting.

00:38:22
I wasn't disappointed that it wasn't that.

00:38:24
But I do think that is a very good point that you made that

00:38:26
think this game that it is, that it is representing in Goldeneye

00:38:32
is not a platformer. So you really have to come up

00:38:36
with a creative way to have the notes and the jiggies and you

00:38:41
know where the the tokens are and all that.

00:38:44
But this is also one of the ones that especially for the the

00:38:49
outdoor area of the dam level that is very, very one to one.

00:38:53
I think maybe just as much or more so than the Mario 64 ones.

00:38:58
I thought this was like really really well represented.

00:39:02
Yeah, this feels. I mean, you can compare it

00:39:06
directly and I'm sure there's discrepancies and variances,

00:39:09
sure, But in my memory this is exactly how this level plays

00:39:12
out. And you almost know where to go

00:39:14
to even find some of the stuff that you don't even know you

00:39:17
need to find yet because you've played this level 100 times, you

00:39:20
know, like that. That is what this is too, is

00:39:23
that there's a lot of really brilliant ways that those things

00:39:26
are brought with light in this one and and especially the a

00:39:30
little bit in Diddy Kong racing too.

00:39:31
But this one and the Mario 64 when I think the most, because

00:39:34
those are very much represented in the action in the games that

00:39:39
they're that they're trying to recreate and stuff.

00:39:41
So and and I wanted to go back to the sort of the game bundle

00:39:45
thing, which is kind of cool too, is that you find one or

00:39:48
two, at least I did I found one or two before I even knew what I

00:39:51
had to do with them. And then I think N64 sort of

00:39:58
tells you, like, or someone tells you you should give people

00:40:01
a gift or something. And it ends up, yeah, he does.

00:40:04
Yeah. So then it ends up being like

00:40:06
some of the guards that are like, not OK with being bad guys

00:40:09
anymore or something. And they're all sad and trying

00:40:12
to figure out like, like, how do you make them happy?

00:40:14
And you give them an N64 bundle is what makes them happy.

00:40:17
And. Of course it does.

00:40:19
Of course, why wouldn't it? Come on, it makes anybody happy.

00:40:22
Exactly right. Yeah, this was what else about

00:40:26
this level because like there was a lot of fun touches in

00:40:28
this. Well, moving past the the dam

00:40:31
part and going into the facility part, there's a really funny

00:40:36
clungo. Like what does it say on the

00:40:39
poster? It says something like don't hit

00:40:41
the scientists or something or. Like I just saw it where?

00:40:44
Was it? Let's see what it says here.

00:40:45
Where is it logos in this level by the way you fall in?

00:40:49
You know the scene in Goldeneye where you fall into the toilets?

00:40:52
You do the whole thing. You go through.

00:40:53
You go through events. Yeah, you go.

00:40:55
Through events on Lago, which is hilarious.

00:40:57
It's yeah, yeah, it's I thought I was like supposed to like do

00:41:00
something with him or whatever, but the just the fact that it's

00:41:02
that he's in there. Is yeah, he's just there.

00:41:03
He's just a toilet. That's that's the only.

00:41:05
It's just a toilet. Let's see, he's OK.

00:41:10
Respect our scientists. That's what they're saying.

00:41:12
You're right. And yeah, you go in and don't

00:41:17
don't hit him or he will one shot you basically.

00:41:21
That's right. Yeah, which I did.

00:41:23
And of course I went in and immediately hit him.

00:41:25
Why wouldn't he? And of course, I was immediately

00:41:27
killed and I had to recollect all my notes and I was like, Oh

00:41:30
my gosh. Evidently it's a Metal Gear

00:41:33
Solid reference, which don't hate me in the comments, but

00:41:36
I've never actually played the original Metal Gear Solid.

00:41:39
Really. Yeah.

00:41:41
Yeah, I've only, I've actually only played which one was one of

00:41:46
PS Three that was 4, right? I believe that was 4.

00:41:50
Four. I've played some of five and I

00:41:55
played Portable OPS on PSP. OK.

00:41:58
And so those are like the only ones I played.

00:42:00
So it it honestly makes me want to go back and play Metal Gear

00:42:03
Solid because I want to understand the reference.

00:42:05
I would, I would love to replay that first one because I

00:42:09
remember when we were younger playing it before and then it

00:42:12
came out for PC, which was kind of crazy.

00:42:15
That's crazy. Yeah.

00:42:16
And my buddy had and what you could do is you could buy, I

00:42:19
think maybe you could also do this on the original

00:42:21
PlayStation, but you could buy just the VR missions like which

00:42:25
were just the challenges and puzzle levels and stuff like

00:42:28
that. And we used to play those

00:42:30
nonstop more than the actual game itself, because it's a fun

00:42:33
way to sort of pass the controller around and stuff like

00:42:35
that too, right? So.

00:42:36
Let me just segue because we just coincidentally started

00:42:38
talking about PlayStation that there is a PlayStation character

00:42:42
in this game. Yes, that's right.

00:42:44
That starts chatting. I don't remember what's

00:42:46
happening. They're like getting tortured or

00:42:47
something. Something like that.

00:42:50
Something is happening. It's around the there's a decay

00:42:53
level and it's like in that part of the hub world and it starts

00:42:57
chatting with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.

00:43:00
And then there's. OK, so Goldeneye, there's

00:43:01
another thing. So we we mentioned the bottles

00:43:03
note that's beside all these bosses and stuff.

00:43:06
Again, little things that you'll find across the game are like,

00:43:11
for example, in the Goldeneye level, there are dossiers that

00:43:14
have people's name on it and an agent number.

00:43:17
This one in particular that I paused on is Smart Kirko,

00:43:21
apparently. So it says M Kirko, Agent Double

00:43:24
O 8, and he's doing a ridiculously goofy face, which

00:43:27
is awesome. Many of the other ones, if not

00:43:29
all of them, I don't think it's all of them.

00:43:31
Many of the other ones here at this level are actual like 007

00:43:37
actors. So I found a couple of that had

00:43:39
the actual actors that played them in the movies and stuff,

00:43:41
which is really cool. Some of them are people that

00:43:43
contributed to the game as well. Yeah, 1 is his cat. 1 is his

00:43:47
cat. Oh.

00:43:48
I didn't see that. 10, That's awesome.

00:43:49
Yeah, yeah. But these are little things,

00:43:51
like they're not collectibles. They're just small little things

00:43:53
you'll see on the ground throughout the game in a bunch

00:43:55
of different levels. I don't even know how many there

00:43:57
are. You'll see the coins from Diddy

00:43:59
Kong Racing just sitting on the ground, which is great.

00:44:01
You don't collect them, but they're just there as like an

00:44:03
added bonus thing, which is like.

00:44:04
Wait, do you not know? Do you not know?

00:44:06
Do you do something with them? Oh yeah, I don't know.

00:44:10
So. I I just went right past.

00:44:11
Mark, he posted on his on his YouTube.

00:44:13
Because I also didn't know what they were for.

00:44:18
You transform. Maybe this is the Segway to the

00:44:22
Diddy Kong racing level. Yeah, let's do it.

00:44:25
So there's a Diddy Kong racing level and it's Greenwood

00:44:28
Village, yes. And great race, by the way,

00:44:31
great race. In this you actually experience,

00:44:34
is it the first mumbo transformation?

00:44:37
I think it might be. I think it is because you don't

00:44:38
do any Goldeneye, you don't do any Mario, and it's early ish in

00:44:42
the game. So yeah, I think, I think so.

00:44:43
I think so. Yeah, so there.

00:44:45
There's only a few mumbo transformations in the game, but

00:44:49
this is one of them. And actually, is it the only

00:44:53
transformation? I can't think of any others

00:44:57
right now. No, there's one in the Pokémon 1

00:45:00
you you go as like the bug. Oh yeah, that's right.

00:45:04
That's right. OK.

00:45:05
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's one of the few

00:45:06
transformations in the game. But you transform into Pipsy

00:45:12
from Diddy Kong Racing and you're in a cart and it's it

00:45:16
doesn't play like Diddy Kong Racing.

00:45:17
It plays like you're a transformation into something

00:45:19
small. You kind of right.

00:45:21
You kind of move as the speed as if you're running as Kazooie.

00:45:24
It's kind of like what? It is essentially, but yeah, you

00:45:27
can leave the level as pipsy. So I didn't try that.

00:45:31
I I left as the bug in the Pokémon snack level because you

00:45:34
need to. But you leave the level in a

00:45:36
specific way where Whiz Pig is defeated and on the ground there

00:45:42
are trees right above him and one of the trees you can go up

00:45:46
to with Pipsy. And you sink down into it like

00:45:51
the pumpkin in Mad Monster Mansion.

00:45:54
And then all of a sudden you're doing a silver coins challenge,

00:45:58
just like Diddy Kong Racing. And that's when you go all the

00:46:01
levels and you collect the silver coins.

00:46:05
Oh my God, It I believe it gives you a secret like Final Jiggy at

00:46:11
the end. It might give you something

00:46:12
else, but I do not remember off the top of my head.

00:46:15
So feel free to go explore that and do it yourself.

00:46:17
Yes. But yeah, it's a really cool.

00:46:19
Thing so I have not finished the game and with those like added

00:46:22
bonus things like like we mentioned off the top but this

00:46:25
is now another one I'm going to add to the list of things I need

00:46:27
to do because. It's funny, I was considering

00:46:30
I'm like, so I had one bonus world.

00:46:35
I guess I can just talk about it because I I unlocked it after I

00:46:39
beat the game. I got the, I got all the Jiggies

00:46:44
in the game and then I ended up. Getting all the Jiggies, yeah.

00:46:49
I, I unlocked the final like bonus world, which was dinosaur

00:46:54
Planet, which people, people who have seen my channel know that

00:46:59
I'm a huge dinosaur planet shill and I, I love it.

00:47:02
I sent for, I sent for dinosaur planet.

00:47:04
It's great. And yeah, so I went in and

00:47:08
explored, but that is an entire new world filled with jiggies

00:47:11
and. So cool.

00:47:14
What was I gonna say about that? Was it related to Pepsi?

00:47:17
Was it related to that state? Did you play through the stage

00:47:20
or you? I I only went in and just kind

00:47:22
of looked around. OK, that was OK.

00:47:24
That's that you went in, But it was, it was pretty cool.

00:47:26
Yeah. But yeah, that's so that's one

00:47:28
of the bonuses. So there's like, oh, that's what

00:47:30
I was gonna say. I was gonna say there's.

00:47:32
I initially thought that was the only thing I really had left to

00:47:35
do in the game aside from collecting the skulls.

00:47:37
And then I found out about this Pipsy challenge and now I'm

00:47:39
like, is there even more? I mean, there like there, there

00:47:44
could be because that's, that's one and there's lots of mumbo

00:47:48
tokens. So maybe there's another

00:47:50
transformation somewhere that. And where they're they're busy

00:47:54
patching bugs and doing different things.

00:47:57
There is potential I have no insider knowledge into.

00:48:00
This. We're not sure, yeah.

00:48:02
But there is potential that they could add something else when

00:48:05
this game gets a public release, which is the 17th.

00:48:09
So if you're listening to this after the 17th, get the get the

00:48:13
game, go get it, play it and see if there's anything different

00:48:16
that you see that we didn't get to see.

00:48:18
Yep, 'cause we, we've been told that there that there's more

00:48:21
work being done on, on the game, little bugs and things like

00:48:24
that, which is totally fair. But we were we accessed this, we

00:48:28
were able to get like the early release before those those bugs

00:48:31
are put in and stuff, which is fine.

00:48:32
I didn't find anything that was game breaking or anything like

00:48:34
that. So even without that, it was.

00:48:35
That was fine. Oh no, it plays great.

00:48:37
There's there was no like let the record show there were,

00:48:41
there were patch notes. I know when we got the the game

00:48:44
and it said specifically like there was a, there was a bug and

00:48:47
I think the Goldeneye level, but it's, it's rare, but it could

00:48:51
happen. That's the kind of bugs we're

00:48:52
looking at, like. Like just be aware this could be

00:48:55
a possibility and that's it. Like that's pretty much it was

00:48:57
like very, it was a very short point form thing that we were.

00:49:00
Sent yeah, it's not nothing to worry about, but by the final

00:49:03
release you'll be having lots of stuff.

00:49:05
He's been working really hard to patch things and yeah, it's it's

00:49:10
pretty cool. It is it is I, I, I don't

00:49:15
there's nothing bad I want to say about the game, but I, I

00:49:17
didn't love the layout or, or how you did stuff in like the

00:49:21
Diddy Kong Racing level. It wasn't my favorite but.

00:49:24
Yeah, Diddy Kong Racing wasn't my favorite level either.

00:49:27
I would, I would have to say that.

00:49:30
So let's just lay out all the levels right now.

00:49:32
Yeah, actually we can just think of a.

00:49:33
List I think that's good so you've got yoshi's story I

00:49:36
always wanna say yoshi's island I don't know why I'm.

00:49:38
So do I say that Yoshi's Island is an incredible game?

00:49:41
That's why. That's why.

00:49:42
Yoshi's Story. Mario 64.

00:49:45
Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing. Bomberman 64.

00:49:49
Pokémon Snap. Pokémon Snap, Donkey Kong 64,

00:49:53
Conker's Bad Fur Day, Glover Beta, Banjo Kazooie, Project

00:50:00
Dream, which is super cool, and Dinosaur Planet.

00:50:04
And I believe that's all of them.

00:50:06
Oh, Castlevania. And oh, I forgot about Star Fox.

00:50:10
Star Fox. Never mind.

00:50:11
Yeah, Castlevania and Star Fox. Castlevania is very short

00:50:14
though. It's just like the ship.

00:50:15
Yeah, yeah. It's.

00:50:17
But it's so cool that it's there.

00:50:18
And just Star Fox, I just, I was like, Oh my God, there's again a

00:50:22
game that is very much not a platformer, obviously, or at

00:50:27
least you know, the one that it's it's trying to be based

00:50:29
off. It's just like another way to

00:50:31
find all these really cool ways of bringing Starfucks into it.

00:50:34
So. What's cool about Starfox is

00:50:37
there actually cutscenes. You go and like randomly talk to

00:50:40
the character. There's like little, little

00:50:43
icons of them on a wall that's like indicating it's like a

00:50:46
radio communicator or something and you go click it and then

00:50:48
it's just a cutscene of like them and the R wing talking to

00:50:51
you. And then there's actually a

00:50:52
fight scene and stuff. Super cool.

00:50:55
And what's really neat is it also sort of answers this child

00:51:01
mythical, Like, what does the inside of the Great Fox look

00:51:05
like? Because we all played Star Fox

00:51:07
64. We all wondered about it.

00:51:09
I didn't even think about that. Yeah.

00:51:11
You're exploring the Great Fox in this, which is super cool.

00:51:15
And Banjo's basically like assisting the Star Fox team and

00:51:20
trying to get to the Captain's Bay of the Great Fox.

00:51:25
It's it's awesome. And I gotta say, like listing

00:51:29
out my favorite levels. I'm curious as to what yours

00:51:31
are, but I'll just say mine. I loved Goldeneye, I loved DK

00:51:38
64, I loved Conquer, and I'd probably say I'd probably say

00:51:45
those were my my top three. OK, yeah, I think Goldeneye's up

00:51:49
there for me too. Like for sure.

00:51:50
It's definitely gonna be like the top three one.

00:51:52
I I just have this like soft spot for Starfox, which we've

00:51:56
talked about before and in in our 50th episodes of Starfox.

00:51:59
I just thought that was it was just I just I love the music.

00:52:02
I love the game. And even though I was like, Oh

00:52:04
my God, we're in the great Fox. I never actually thought about

00:52:06
it in the same way that you just said like, Oh yeah, we've never

00:52:10
known what's in it. It's just is it like what I do?

00:52:14
Actually, it really is. It's it's it's a lot of fun.

00:52:19
Is it like the best laid out level?

00:52:22
Is it the greatest? No, but I think it's all those

00:52:24
other things that sort of add up to me.

00:52:26
Yeah. And and it might not be my

00:52:28
favorite one, but I was. And maybe it's because it's

00:52:30
right off the top and because it's it's one that is so well

00:52:33
represented. I think I really like the Mario

00:52:36
64 ones. I really liked.

00:52:38
Yeah, they were good. And it's three of them, two like

00:52:40
it's not really short, which it's OK, if it's short, that's

00:52:44
fine. I just, I was really impressed

00:52:46
by that because it's putting new things in very familiar

00:52:49
situations and and levels. I do like the creativity of the

00:52:53
other ones, like Donkey Kong was great.

00:52:54
I mean, I love the Donkey Kong games too and 64 is awesome.

00:52:57
So that might be like fighting for that third spot or, or

00:53:01
something, but those would be the ones that probably stood out

00:53:03
the most to me. I liked the Pokémon Snap one.

00:53:08
It's kind of similar to Mario where you're going and doing and

00:53:11
going in and out of multiple places.

00:53:13
I just think that the task of how you did the pictures was was

00:53:18
a little too convoluted and it took me a while to kind of

00:53:20
figure that out. I don't know if you figure that

00:53:23
out. Or not.

00:53:23
You mean collecting the pokeballs?

00:53:25
No, the pokeballs was fine, but the jiggies and needing to smash

00:53:29
the ground your picture like those things.

00:53:31
So the way that they incorporate the photos or photo taking in

00:53:35
this game in Pokémon snap is you.

00:53:39
There's these pictures on the walls around, around the, the

00:53:42
level and you have to match up that particular Pokémon that is

00:53:47
in another part of Pokémon Snap, if that's the right way to put

00:53:51
it. And then you, you know, ground

00:53:54
pound the ground, it breaks open a box and you collect the jiggy

00:53:57
and that's how you do it. So I, I don't know, did did you

00:54:00
figure this out 'cause it took me a little bit.

00:54:04
I did figure it out but I'm also like I didn't even look at the

00:54:09
pictures. Oh, really?

00:54:11
You just. Yeah, I just went into the level

00:54:13
and started doing stuff and someone in my chat actually

00:54:16
probably was Clifford Long Head. Shout out to Clifford Long Head

00:54:18
once again. They were like, yeah, look for

00:54:21
the red X's on the ground. So that's probably why I didn't

00:54:23
need to look at the pictures because they pointed that out

00:54:26
and so I knew what to look for. Yeah.

00:54:28
I mean, I still had to like find an X to get a visible

00:54:31
representation to know what I actually was looking for because

00:54:34
they are very subtle. They're they're, it's not even

00:54:36
red. It's it's pretty much it's kind

00:54:38
of in the ground. You know, it looks like like a

00:54:40
mark on the ground. I wouldn't say that it's even

00:54:42
red, but but it but you can see it if you're if you're looking

00:54:45
for them, you can see them. You just have to.

00:54:47
Know what I would say? I would say that Diddy Kong

00:54:51
Racing and Pokémon Snap were the 2.

00:54:56
They weren't bad, but they're the most tedious levels to me.

00:54:59
That's that's a good way to put it, yeah.

00:55:00
For that reason I was like, I like the faster paced ones.

00:55:04
I liked I thought if I had to pick like which one was my

00:55:09
overall favorite, to be honest, I still would go DK 64.

00:55:16
It just playing for it hit this weird.

00:55:21
I know it's nostalgia 64. So I hate to use the word

00:55:23
nostalgia, but it hit this nostalgic like there's a vein

00:55:28
that must go in my brain like right down the middle right?

00:55:31
And it was like I heard the DK music and I playing as banjo and

00:55:37
I could see banjo like on DK aisle And it was like this

00:55:41
weird, like pathway formed, neurons fired And it was like

00:55:46
nostalgia but new at the same time.

00:55:49
And I was like, holy crap. If little I think I said this on

00:55:54
stream, if little kid me was playing this right now, I

00:56:00
literally would have just like peed myself an excitement like

00:56:05
it was like you know. What?

00:56:06
I'm actually very impressed that you didn't pee yourself this

00:56:08
time. Never mind.

00:56:09
Yeah, no, I went before the stream.

00:56:14
No, no, I was responsible but it but but that's exactly what

00:56:17
what's so great about this just in general, this game, you have

00:56:21
to use nostalgia 'cause that's what this game is, is that's

00:56:24
the. Word.

00:56:24
That's the word and that's what this game really is a lot of the

00:56:28
time. And and not not to like, not in

00:56:30
A to use that disparagingly in in any way whatsoever.

00:56:33
Like it is very well represented and and cared for like we've

00:56:36
talked about and bottles showing up in the N64 ships.

00:56:42
Flying around an N64 controller, it's epic.

00:56:45
With his angry eyes. That's so funny.

00:56:49
But but that's what it is. Like, I think that's something

00:56:51
about the Star Fox one for me maybe.

00:56:53
Is that like, yes, it's not you know, a level that or, or a

00:56:57
stage that you recognize, but there's all this stuff going on

00:57:00
in it that is just like, yes, I fucking love this game.

00:57:04
And they are really making this work and doing a lot of original

00:57:08
things with it. Like we're watching right now,

00:57:10
sort of seeing the actual like fight happen with the cutscenes,

00:57:13
like you said. And like it's just, it's just

00:57:15
having so much fun, which is fantastic.

00:57:18
So, yeah, there there's, there's a lot of that and it, it

00:57:24
controls really well, you know, like that's something that we

00:57:26
have to like you mentioned earlier and stuff like it

00:57:28
controls just like it should. It feels just how you how you

00:57:30
think it should and. It's Banjo.

00:57:34
It's it's Banjo. That's that's what this is.

00:57:37
I'm going to go to where's another?

00:57:39
I'm going to go. Since we're talking about Donkey

00:57:40
Kong, I got to go to that one. Yeah.

00:57:44
There's a lot of little sort of interesting things too, where

00:57:48
it's like, oh, here's the what are the name of the shoes?

00:57:50
Again, I can't remember what the name of the shoes.

00:57:51
Are the turbo trainers? Yeah, turbo trainers, those are

00:57:54
in a couple of levels that are just there, like I think it's in

00:57:56
the Diddy Kong Racing one, where they're just there just to get

00:58:00
you around faster, like you don't really need them.

00:58:03
Like it just makes you feel like you're racing, which is kind of

00:58:05
fun. I think I, I almost think he

00:58:09
just acknowledged that they were kind of big levels and it just

00:58:12
helps you get through faster. So that's true.

00:58:15
An optional thing if you want to move a little quicker.

00:58:17
Yeah, this part that we're watching right now is really

00:58:20
epic. And I got to say, before you

00:58:22
play DK 64, you have to do something in the hub world

00:58:25
because you are inside an N64 console.

00:58:28
You actually have to use Jiggies to collect an expansion pack

00:58:32
before you can play DK 64. Yeah, the sort of bridge that

00:58:36
leads to DK 64 is not available until you go into this little

00:58:40
area that I think you need like 4 or 500 notes to get to, which

00:58:44
you can get to if you've played a handful of levels leading up

00:58:47
to that. And it looks like this is kind

00:58:52
of, is this, this is sort of like a Zelda representation.

00:58:55
It almost looks like, right. Like so you hand in a a few

00:58:59
Jiggies and then literally the giant expansion pack gets

00:59:04
plugged into this part of the N64 hub world.

00:59:08
It might have been. It actually might have been

00:59:10
Dinosaur, a dinosaur planet reference.

00:59:12
Oh, is it? Oh, OK, could be.

00:59:14
Oh yeah, maybe. I I honestly can't remember.

00:59:18
It's hard to tell, but either way, either way, it's another

00:59:20
another sort of fun. So this is just like a one stop

00:59:22
thing that you hand in the notes.

00:59:24
You you put a few jiggies in and then this giant expansion pack

00:59:27
gets plugged into the middle of the thing.

00:59:29
And then now you can access Donkey Kong, which is amazing.

00:59:33
Yeah, and this, it gets me. It gets me really excited.

00:59:38
OK, so one of the things I hope he does a follow up to this,

00:59:41
this one specifically. So I'm saying that right now

00:59:44
because I'm confident that he's going to listen to this podcast

00:59:47
at some point. I would love to see a follow up

00:59:51
and I'd love weird games represented if possible.

00:59:56
One game that I I would really hope for to be represented.

01:00:00
Kirby 64, the crystal shards, because I think that one has a

01:00:04
really cool look and feel about it.

01:00:06
And you could do the the side scrolling thing a little like

01:00:09
2.5 D that would be really neat. Do you have any?

01:00:12
Do you have any games that you're like?

01:00:13
I think Smash Bros could be a really cool one.

01:00:16
Smash Bros could be cool. I I sort of thought of that as,

01:00:18
as I was playing too, but I'm like, but then we have Smash 64

01:00:21
but or you know, but, but that that's fine.

01:00:24
It's not, it's not a big deal that it's sort of.

01:00:26
Quarter imagine if. But.

01:00:27
Smash Smash levels represented in 3D though.

01:00:30
That that's what it is. It's like if you could, if you

01:00:32
could three like 3D, like represent them in 3D, like you

01:00:35
said, and and play through them, which is kind of kind of what

01:00:39
the Pokémon snap one was. While I was so impressed with

01:00:41
those ones is like, again, they're represented so well.

01:00:44
And these are are three stages that you 100% recognize if you

01:00:48
played that game. But I think the again, the first

01:00:50
three or three of the first four or something, one of those ones

01:00:53
that you and Donkey Kong has has flavors of that too.

01:00:56
But for some reason those ones stand out and stuff.

01:00:59
Kirby's a cool one too. Actually, I never, I never

01:01:01
thought of that, but Kirby's a cool one because you could maybe

01:01:04
do some funny stuff with combining moves or pickups or

01:01:09
collectibles or something. You could find something like

01:01:11
combine, I mean, I guess it could be transformations, but

01:01:17
it, you could do something with the with the trainers and

01:01:21
something else. And like combine the washing

01:01:24
machine with the trainers and you can be running around as as

01:01:27
a washing machine with the with shoes on it.

01:01:29
You know what I mean? Like just something like that

01:01:30
and just sort of do fun combos and, and even explore some of

01:01:34
those levels in 3D would be cool.

01:01:36
You know, like some of those. There's so much stuff going on

01:01:38
in the background in Kirby 64 that like, if you were to jump

01:01:43
behind what you're typically doing in that game, that would

01:01:46
be awesome. I'd love to see Mario Party

01:01:49
represented. I think that would be really

01:01:51
interesting. And you have to do the thing

01:01:53
where you have to like spin your joystick at some point, like you

01:01:56
gotta it's it would be hilarious.

01:01:59
And you're oh man, imagine the transformation is the glove and

01:02:03
it's like. Yeah, or, and then like there's

01:02:06
like a boss boss fight in it and it's like the star or something.

01:02:09
Like you just you have to collect stars and at the end you

01:02:14
lose them all from some silly way from like.

01:02:16
Well, just imagine you have to fly up the warp pipe.

01:02:19
That's like the beginning part of Mario Party where they're

01:02:21
falling down and you have to fly up and it's playing the music

01:02:24
and like you have to hit like the menu icons or something, or

01:02:28
you hit every character along the way.

01:02:30
You see everybody falling. They're falling down there like

01:02:32
the whole like every time they sort of they do that like stall

01:02:35
in mid air and then fall like do one of those they.

01:02:37
Have no, I have limitless ideas. You're welcome to take all of

01:02:41
them. I have 0 execution with that.

01:02:44
Yeah, I just think it would be. That's the very cool, Yeah,

01:02:47
stuff like I. Rayman too.

01:02:50
Oh, Rayman would be cool. That'd be fun.

01:02:52
I, I just, I keep thinking of games that like, I, you know, I

01:02:54
love the, the wrestling games growing up, but like, I don't

01:02:57
know if there's much you can do with that other than like, you

01:03:00
know, walking around in an arena, which is not the most

01:03:03
exciting thing. There's more original ideas out

01:03:04
there and stuff. But I'd love to, I'd love to see

01:03:07
Mario Golf sort of find like play across a couple of the

01:03:11
courses, 'cause there's so many different layouts and there's so

01:03:15
many different courses just in Mario 60 or Mario Golf on 64.

01:03:20
And you can even implement some of the ones from the Game Boy

01:03:22
games as well, because some of them are even just Game Boy

01:03:26
representations and vice versa of the ones in 64.

01:03:29
So that'd be kind of cool because you like go up the hills

01:03:31
and you can, I don't know, maybe dig through some of the sand

01:03:33
traps or something. You could run across the whole

01:03:35
course. Like it'd be a very open area

01:03:38
potentially. But you can add like he, like

01:03:40
they did with the Mario 64 levels in this, add a couple

01:03:44
like elements from other Mario games to sort of spice things up

01:03:48
and make it not just, oh, here's a bunch of grass or.

01:03:50
Here's a bunch of sand. It could be like a a segment of

01:03:54
Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, all sort of in one like

01:03:57
the, you know, that sort of series.

01:03:59
Even Mario Kart could be represented, make one sort of

01:04:02
bigger world that it represents all of those in a in a small

01:04:05
piece. Yeah, it doesn't have to be

01:04:07
just. That.

01:04:08
Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

01:04:09
Yeah, I had a really good one in my head just a second ago and I

01:04:12
just totally lost it. Aw man, 'cause it was good.

01:04:16
It would, it would most likely have to be a, you know, a

01:04:20
Nintendo property and stuff, which kind of it doesn't.

01:04:22
Happen. Oh, Paper Mario, that's what I

01:04:23
was gonna say. That would be really cool 'cause

01:04:25
aesthetically it's just so different.

01:04:27
Imagine you go in and all of a sudden everything is in that 2D

01:04:31
paper style. Oh my God, that'd be excellent.

01:04:34
It would be cool. Literally there's someone on my

01:04:36
who always comments on my channel named Paper Banjo.

01:04:38
I guess I'm shouting out people. I don't know why but I always

01:04:42
thought they have a little icon and their icon is like a paper

01:04:45
Mario ified Banjo Kazooie. It looks really cool.

01:04:49
Imagine that would be so cool. That'd be so much fun.

01:04:52
You could play exactly the same, just be like flat 2D.

01:04:56
Totally fine, totally fine. Like I, I would, I would just

01:04:59
play Paper Mario, but just playing as Banjo Kazooie and you

01:05:02
just have different, different move set.

01:05:03
Like that's fine. I'm good with that.

01:05:05
First we got to throw in Buck Bumble because fundamentally you

01:05:07
could have like very similar game mechanic controls.

01:05:11
You could transform. Into the B.

01:05:13
Into the B. And you could have essentially

01:05:15
this at the same stages right there, there three.

01:05:17
It's it's sort of it's not a platformer, but it's sort of,

01:05:20
you know, it's a 3D adventure game.

01:05:21
And yeah, you could just be the B the entire time and then just

01:05:26
have incredible music. So yeah, imagine just looping

01:05:30
the menu music the whole time. It'd be just the banjo sound

01:05:33
font, but Buck Bumble's theme just over and over and over and

01:05:36
over. And I'm OK for it.

01:05:37
I'm OK with it. It's fine.

01:05:39
Hell yes, Sir, Hell yes. Speaking of music, and you said

01:05:42
that it sort of hit your your nostalgia feels.

01:05:44
Let's listen to Donkey Kong one a bit.

01:05:46
Oh yes. You know what's interesting

01:06:01
about the Donkey Kong soundtrack?

01:06:03
Because the Donkey Kong soundtrack is also Grant Kirko

01:06:08
and the sound font is different, but it doesn't feel much

01:06:14
different. It doesn't feel that sounds.

01:06:16
It still sounds pretty close to the original.

01:06:19
I'm sure things have changed. I'm sure, I'm sure

01:06:21
instrumentation sounds like, but this one's pretty close.

01:06:25
Which maybe the synergy of Donkey Kong and banjo because of

01:06:30
Grant Kirko soundtrack. That's like what makes them feel

01:06:33
like cohesive together. And even even as as different as

01:06:36
it is, I thought Goldeneye was almost.

01:06:39
It still sounded. Yeah, it sounds.

01:06:41
Exactly. And not exactly, but like very

01:06:43
close and not in a way where it's like, oh, this is ripping

01:06:45
this off. It's just it's there and it

01:06:47
works. You know, there's something

01:06:49
about it where it just works. Yeah, It's not just hitting like

01:06:53
recording and hitting play on like a record from the game like

01:06:56
it's it is. It is recreated in a way, but

01:06:59
it's still. Yeah.

01:07:01
But it's still it's own thing, you know?

01:07:03
It's recreated, it sounds great. I just like that the the

01:07:07
cohesion is there because you can hear that you can

01:07:09
acknowledge that this is a different SoundCloud, that this

01:07:11
is banjo. Yes, you know, there's, there's,

01:07:14
there's more like xylophone kind of sounds.

01:07:17
Yep, there's like banjo strings and things like that.

01:07:20
Yeah, wind instruments and stuff, yeah.

01:07:22
Yeah, but it's still, it's still translates to DK very well,

01:07:26
which is a little, I'd have to listen to DK specifically to

01:07:29
pick out any instruments because in now that I listen to it right

01:07:33
now, I'm just like, Oh yeah, that's DK.

01:07:34
But I'm like, I know it. I know it's a little different

01:07:36
than that. Yeah, it's, I guess it'd

01:07:39
probably be a little more heavy, like brass, kind of sounds

01:07:41
brass. Stuff.

01:07:42
Yeah, that's what I would think. You know what I would think too?

01:07:43
Yeah, that's Kong. Instruments.

01:07:45
Bongos. Yeah.

01:07:47
Saxophone, trombones, electric guitar, stuff like that.

01:07:51
Yeah, but. We're talking about the music

01:07:52
and we're probably gonna say the name wrong.

01:07:54
Sorry. We've we've discussed this

01:07:56
before, but. Listen, it's not, it's not, it's

01:08:01
not your fault because you, I asked you how to pronounce it

01:08:06
and you sent me the phonetics and now I'm still like.

01:08:09
What? Am I saying this right?

01:08:13
We're saying you say it first. OK, so I'm going to read what

01:08:16
what Kirko sent me some more notes that he sent me sort of

01:08:19
about because I asked like, oh, is there anything you want to

01:08:21
sort of toss in as far as how the game came, came about and

01:08:24
things like that? And and he wrote and said for

01:08:26
nostalgia 64. I reworked the models to update

01:08:29
them a bit, but the ideas and level design are from other

01:08:34
people that he's worked with. But by the way, the music by

01:08:37
repost. Repost, repost.

01:08:40
You are a legend. Let me just let me just say that

01:08:43
yes, I've really enjoyed chatting with you over the past,

01:08:47
you know, couple days here. I guess Really, really we've

01:08:49
only chatted today and maybe yesterday, I don't remember.

01:08:52
As of this recording, just like the last couple days, but but

01:08:55
yeah, so that that's who who worked with the music and and

01:09:00
just did a fantastic job, you know, like really everything

01:09:03
that we've talked about, Crico said.

01:09:06
Helped with a ton of songs, arranging Midis and fixing some

01:09:09
of the old ones that they had previously.

01:09:11
So there's touch ups, there's originals, you know, all these

01:09:14
things really sort of come and like we've talked about with

01:09:18
Banjo Kazooie in the actual episode, and as you'll hear

01:09:21
probably in the in the GBA episode as well that you can

01:09:24
hear soon too. Music and sound is such a huge

01:09:28
part of this franchise. Yeah.

01:09:31
It's just so iconic and recognizable.

01:09:34
Really big part of the nostalgia part of it, as far as, for me at

01:09:37
least, anyway. And I think for a lot of people.

01:09:40
And if you can nail that and like you were just talking about

01:09:43
with like mixing it with the other games, you've created

01:09:46
something pretty special, I think.

01:09:49
And it goes a long way to making all of these levels work and

01:09:52
making this game in general work so.

01:09:54
Yeah, it feels, it feels very much like Banjo invading other

01:09:58
worlds. Yeah.

01:10:00
Yeah. It's it's it's awesome.

01:10:02
It's exactly, it's exactly what you want because you could, you

01:10:05
know, put the original music in. But there's some charm added

01:10:10
when it's put in that banjo sound font.

01:10:11
It just sounds a little bit different than how you remember

01:10:14
or in some cases, like a remix and several songs like montage

01:10:19
together in such a, an epic way. It's it's awesome.

01:10:24
I loved, I loved listening to it, like every step of the way

01:10:27
it was bopping. It, it never felt out of place

01:10:31
and never felt like it was not the right choice or anything.

01:10:34
It just was, it worked every single stage.

01:10:38
You know, for example, there's, you know, the hub world is the

01:10:41
menu music from Star Fox 64, which you don't even know that

01:10:44
there's a Star Fox or as I didn't know there was a Star Fox

01:10:47
64 game, you know, being represented later.

01:10:50
And I was like, oh, this is how they're going to represent Star

01:10:52
Fox. And that's totally cool with me.

01:10:54
It doesn't have to have its own level or whatever.

01:10:56
And yeah, those, those little touches are, are, are excellent.

01:11:01
You know, there's a lot of like unique ways that you use the

01:11:03
Jiggies. Like we're looking at right now.

01:11:05
There's different sort of references to the games

01:11:07
themselves that you wouldn't expect would be a way to sort of

01:11:10
unlock a door or like small things like that, or where a

01:11:13
note would be. Or like really, really small

01:11:16
touches that that go a long way for me that I was just

01:11:19
constantly going, oh, hey, oh, look at that.

01:11:22
Wow, that's so cool. Like just, hey, I constantly did

01:11:30
that out loud. My wife was like, what are you

01:11:31
doing? Are you OK?

01:11:33
And I said, no, I'm just having a good time.

01:11:34
Don't worry about it. Yeah, yeah.

01:11:36
Come on. Don't you get it?

01:11:38
Nostalgia 64? She's like, I don't what, what?

01:11:40
What are you talking about? I mean, she knows I love this

01:11:43
franchise, so it's fine. It's like she wouldn't be too

01:11:46
surprised with the Gingos in the back and and all the games that

01:11:50
I have behind me. I think I think she gets it at

01:11:52
this point. Yeah, right.

01:11:54
My wife got me that banner in the back.

01:11:56
Oh, did she nice yeah, yeah, I the only thing I've added to my

01:11:59
shelf recently is this Ninja Turtle.

01:12:01
Speaking of things that I've added a.

01:12:03
Big cool, I think I saw it last time.

01:12:05
Donatello thing I not I posted about it, but it's cool.

01:12:09
It is not Banjo Kazooie related, but I'm trying to think if there

01:12:13
was anything else like sort of related to the original games

01:12:16
that are kind of tossed in here and used in a unique way.

01:12:18
The hub world thing is kind of cool.

01:12:20
I, I like how how it's not just let's take the other world and

01:12:26
just replace, you know, the world's with NN 64 games.

01:12:30
It's a completely original setup from start to finish, which is

01:12:35
fantastic. You know, I, I, I think that

01:12:39
like if you've played any of these games, like I'm not a

01:12:42
huge, I don't have a huge nostalgia or, or care for, for

01:12:46
Bomberman 64 specifically, but I recognize what it was doing.

01:12:51
I like the level. I thought it was kind of

01:12:53
interesting and there was all these things that doesn't matter

01:12:57
if you've had a lot or a little experience with that particular

01:12:59
game. There's something you can take

01:13:01
from each of those cartridges that you jump into, which which

01:13:06
is great. And again, if you like Banjo

01:13:08
Kazooie and Banjo Tooie, anything in this franchise, that

01:13:12
in itself, I think you'll get something out of this because it

01:13:15
plays like those games that you love, but now you're playing a

01:13:18
new, like it's a brand new experience.

01:13:20
That's what it is. You want a new Banjo Kazooie

01:13:22
game, This is it. Like it's it's original.

01:13:27
It is completely. And not that not that other

01:13:29
stuff that Kirko has done isn't original, but there's just

01:13:32
something different about this, I feel.

01:13:34
And you've played more of them than I have and probably to

01:13:36
completion. But does this feel like this is

01:13:39
sort of what they've done before and now it has led to this kind

01:13:44
of idea? Is that kind of or am I sort of

01:13:46
going too far with that? No, it does.

01:13:49
In a way. It does feel sort of like a

01:13:51
culmination of things, right? And I haven't played a ton of

01:13:56
them. I've probably played like four

01:13:58
or five of his mods maybe, which he has a pretty the ask catalog.

01:14:02
I wonder how many mods he actually has.

01:14:05
But I played like Night Nightmare Before Christmas,

01:14:08
which is a Nightmare Before Christmas one.

01:14:09
That one was pretty epic. That one's cool.

01:14:11
That's the one I played a few minutes of too.

01:14:12
I was like, Oh my God, this is great.

01:14:14
Like it's. Yeah, that one's great.

01:14:16
Biggies of Time was probably his like ultimate mod before this

01:14:22
one, I would say. I would say that this one has

01:14:24
surpassed it. OK, which I'm I'm sure that

01:14:27
probably was his goal to make like the next big one.

01:14:31
And this feels like the next big one.

01:14:34
Jiggies of time. Totally worth a play.

01:14:36
It's totally awesome. It's great.

01:14:38
It is. Yeah, it is awesome.

01:14:40
I only played the first hour and a half to two hours of it and I

01:14:43
was like, Oh my God, I, I, I'm gonna, I'm 100% keeping that at

01:14:48
the ready to, to play 'cause it was, it was awesome.

01:14:51
Yeah, it's really good. I honestly think, though, I did

01:14:54
have more fun playing this one. OK.

01:14:56
I think, I think that just comes down to the fact the world

01:15:00
changes to a different world so often.

01:15:02
Yes. Kind of gives it a fresh

01:15:04
gameplay feel. You know, like every time you're

01:15:08
like, oh, it's something new. It's something new.

01:15:09
It's variety. Whereas, you know, Zelda's great

01:15:12
and Banjo and Zelda is hilarious and awesome.

01:15:15
Yeah, but it does. It does.

01:15:16
It's one thing, you know, One thing doesn't beat 12 things,

01:15:21
whatever. It is, yeah.

01:15:23
And and that's, and that's like, yeah, again, another creative

01:15:27
way to sort of introduce Banjo into the Zelda universe and vice

01:15:31
versa and stuff. But you're right.

01:15:33
Even though you are playing a 3D platformer, you are playing

01:15:36
Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie largely in this.

01:15:39
It's still every time you go into a new cartridge, every time

01:15:42
you or even just in the hub world, it still feels like

01:15:45
something completely different. You're never.

01:15:48
I never felt like I was going into one expecting or not

01:15:53
necessarily expecting, but I never went into one going, oh,

01:15:56
this is what I did last time. So why am I even in this one?

01:15:59
No, you go to Pokémon Snap. You're doing a completely

01:16:01
different set of tasks in order to get the pokeballs and the

01:16:05
Jiggies and and some of the notes and those things go such a

01:16:10
long way to make this feel. Honestly, to me, this is a new

01:16:14
game. Like this is a new Banjo Kazooie

01:16:16
game, even though there's a lot of, you know, things that it's

01:16:19
iterating on from other games and stuff like that they're

01:16:21
based on, but it is just so well crafted.

01:16:26
You can tell that there's just love and care put into every

01:16:29
aspect of it. There's just no denying that at

01:16:33
all in. Some ways.

01:16:35
In some ways, this scratches the stop and swap itch.

01:16:39
Oh, yeah, that we're talking about this?

01:16:40
Yeah, yeah. It kind of.

01:16:42
It kind of makes you think like me as a kid hearing about stop

01:16:46
and swap. It's like, oh, I'm going to take

01:16:47
elements from one game and put it in another.

01:16:51
And that element is Banjo Kazooie and we're going into all

01:16:53
the different games is so Jet Force gem and I would have been

01:16:57
another one. A lot of I mean, you should make

01:16:59
that'd be cool legally telling them what to do.

01:17:03
You should totally make like Banjo Kazooie just in the rare

01:17:07
rare universe. Just go through.

01:17:09
Just do all the all the rare games.

01:17:11
Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, DK Conquer, Diddy Kong racing, Jet

01:17:18
force Gemini Like all of those maybe DK country like.

01:17:23
Mickey Speedway. Mickey Speedway.

01:17:26
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Glass Corps.

01:17:28
Glass Corps I. Mean some of the glass.

01:17:30
Corps could be cool. That could be.

01:17:31
They're represented with little Easter eggs.

01:17:33
Yeah. So that's another thing is

01:17:34
there's a lot of small like Easter eggs that are not even in

01:17:37
the like based on the particular level you're in, like especially

01:17:40
when you're running around the hub world.

01:17:42
Yeah, the game is. The game is Easter eggs.

01:17:45
That's what the game is, yeah. That's what it's actually, I'm

01:17:47
going to pull up a couple 'cause he had a video that he posted to

01:17:49
that has all those little things in it.

01:17:51
And I just want to point out a couple so that people can sort

01:17:54
of have an idea of what we mean. So you can run around the hub

01:17:56
world a little bit and what happens is just like, and we

01:18:01
talked about it in the Banjo Kazooie episode previous to

01:18:03
this, how Grunty, for example, will pop up and do a rhyme and

01:18:08
talk over and at just like a random point, right?

01:18:11
It's not related to what you're doing necessarily, but it's just

01:18:14
hey, here's Grunty chirping you essentially is what it is,

01:18:16
right? And in this, the way that that's

01:18:18
represented is characters from other games or characters in

01:18:22
this game coming up insane different things.

01:18:26
So for example, Tip top shows up on this first one here and says

01:18:30
Diddy Kong Racing was originally known as Pro AM 64 and start

01:18:35
timber the tiger. Cool.

01:18:37
If you didn't know that now you do.

01:18:40
Does it stop the game? Nope.

01:18:41
You're just walking from A to B. You know Zelda shows up and says

01:18:44
the N64 logo and Ocarina of time uses the wrong colors.

01:18:47
They fix it in version 1.1. Like love it great.

01:18:53
You know, I don't know where it is, but and I didn't get all of

01:18:56
these. I think there was one that I saw

01:18:58
show up before that had Samus pops up and says that like, I'm

01:19:02
one of the only Nintendo characters that does not have a

01:19:05
game on the 64. Yeah.

01:19:08
Like little things like that is fun.

01:19:11
What else here you got? Oh, isn't this from Goldeneye?

01:19:19
Who is this again? I can't remember who this is.

01:19:20
Oaks. Oh, is.

01:19:21
Yeah. Oaks.

01:19:22
Yeah. Within Goldeneye Double O 7's

01:19:24
code, there's a functional Spectrum 48X emulator within it.

01:19:30
Like great. Like these little things sort of

01:19:32
pop up and anyways, those little things full of Easter eggs and

01:19:35
full of fun stuff that. Yeah, that.

01:19:38
You really get out of it and that you can easily miss that

01:19:40
you real you won't you won't see unless you're just sort of

01:19:44
running around the hub world and stuff like.

01:19:45
That so here's what I here's what I recommend just for people

01:19:49
that are gonna go pick this up and play it yeah don't watch

01:19:56
kirko mods like basically uncovering everything you should

01:20:01
download the game yes play it for yourself yes see how much

01:20:04
you can find and then go back and look at his YouTube channel

01:20:08
and find all the little things you didn't you missed and go 1

01:20:11
by 1 and go back and find them yourself yeah I feel like that's

01:20:14
the way to do it cuz then you can have a bunch of surprises

01:20:16
and then you can also see all the details and like how many

01:20:20
more there were that you missed like see how good you do it's a

01:20:22
challenge see how good you. Do and a lot of them, like we've

01:20:25
talked about, you sort of stumble upon, which is really

01:20:29
great too because you know you don't expect them to be there

01:20:33
and then you go shit. And it could be a reference to

01:20:35
that particular game that you're in or it could be a reference to

01:20:38
a different one. And it's just I think you're

01:20:40
right. I think that's a good way to do

01:20:41
it. I did go back and watch a couple

01:20:43
of these that I was like, yeah, I saw that.

01:20:45
I didn't see that, but it's fun to do that too because you go,

01:20:49
Oh yeah, I saw that 10 or you stumble upon it in a different

01:20:52
way. Yeah, things like that.

01:20:54
So it's it's definitely. I avoided his channel like the

01:20:57
plague. Oh, until I until I beat it.

01:20:59
Yeah, me too. Yeah, he.

01:21:00
Well, he started posting like the world's that were in it.

01:21:04
Yes. And I was like, I want to be

01:21:05
surprised. I was like, I don't want to

01:21:07
know. I I think I saw that.

01:21:11
I, I knew DK was in it. I knew Mario 64 was in it.

01:21:14
I think I saw Glover as well and those were the only three that I

01:21:17
like stumbled upon and the rest was like, I'm just gonna wait

01:21:20
and see. I figured Diddy Kong Racing was

01:21:22
gonna be in there. Conquers actually surprised me.

01:21:24
I didn't think that was gonna be in there.

01:21:26
Golden Eye I thought was neat. Like I just like there's a

01:21:29
little bit of surprise that was in there and.

01:21:31
And honestly, it's it's kind of like not everybody really cares

01:21:34
about movie or TV spoilers sort of thing.

01:21:36
Like if that's not your thing to sort of protect that part of

01:21:38
your experience of watching, that's totally fine.

01:21:40
It doesn't bother everybody, right?

01:21:41
This is kind of like that where it's like if you don't want to

01:21:45
really know, it's not the premise, but if you don't want

01:21:47
to really know some of the finer details, then just hold off for

01:21:52
a little bit. You know, he has, he has videos

01:21:54
posting of like how to find some of the Jiggies and Jinjos and

01:21:57
things like that. So if you're having trouble, you

01:21:58
can definitely look those up. But other than that, I agree.

01:22:02
Just go play the game, experience it.

01:22:06
And even if you've never played Glover, even if you've never

01:22:08
played Diddy Kong Racing, play those stages, you will get

01:22:12
something out of it because Diddy Kong Racing is a perfect

01:22:15
example where one of the things that you play as like an added

01:22:18
bonus is a Donkey Kong Country tooth level.

01:22:23
And I was like, are are like, I found that.

01:22:27
And I went, Oh my God, my favorite game of all time is

01:22:30
represented in one of my other favorite games of all time.

01:22:33
This is the greatest thing I've ever like.

01:22:35
It was just, it was so great. That was a pretty cool one.

01:22:39
Yeah, so. And that's one of those things

01:22:42
where you could miss it, but you'll probably stumble upon it

01:22:45
too. And it's really fun.

01:22:46
There's lots of little references leading up to that

01:22:48
point and how you get into it and all that stuff.

01:22:50
So there's lots here that you can get out of it and.

01:22:52
Yeah. And what I think would be even

01:22:54
better is you play these games. If there is a game you're

01:22:57
unfamiliar with, you play in the world, go play that that game

01:23:02
after the fact yes find the world it's based on, see how

01:23:05
good like it's been like remade yes, that's great Kazooie

01:23:09
experience yeah and yeah it's almost like reverse like you

01:23:14
played it here 1st and now you can see like the original.

01:23:17
Honestly, I would argue that more Glover specifically, I feel

01:23:21
like Glover's better in this game than it is actually in

01:23:24
Glover so. But that's just me.

01:23:27
Yeah, Glover's hard. It's alright, it's awkward.

01:23:29
It's very, very awkward. That's the problem.

01:23:31
I, I see what they're going for. I did an episode on Glover, so

01:23:34
if you, you know, you can look that up in the feed.

01:23:35
But it's an awkward game in this not so awkward 'cause you're

01:23:39
playing Banjo Kazooie. So I had a good time with it.

01:23:42
So I, I, I think that's pretty much as much as we would what we

01:23:46
have. It's just, it's just so great to

01:23:49
experience this. Really, really want to thank

01:23:52
Kirko for providing us a copy of the game early so we could be

01:23:56
able to play it and record it when we did and be able to get

01:24:00
this out to people when it's available to more of the public.

01:24:03
Early access was available, yeah, when we got it.

01:24:05
So people that were patrons and supporting the project as it

01:24:08
went along, we're also able to play it, which is great.

01:24:12
So thank you to Kirko for for allowing us and, and giving us

01:24:15
the opportunity to do this. And also thank you to all the

01:24:17
people that supported him because I think without that,

01:24:20
you know, whether it's financial or whether it's programming or

01:24:23
whether the music, whatever it might be, like all of those

01:24:26
things like you're part of the team that made this game.

01:24:29
And you should all be applauded for that as well because we

01:24:32
would not be experiencing any of this in the way that we are

01:24:36
without without you. So that's definitely important

01:24:40
to sort of point out. It's not just the fact that

01:24:42
Kirko has his name on this. Lots of people do.

01:24:44
He has gone out of the way to make sure that they're

01:24:46
represented and recognized in this game as well.

01:24:49
Always love those touches like I mentioned and and just give

01:24:51
yourselves a pat on the back too, because it your, your work

01:24:55
and your contributions go a long way.

01:24:56
So yeah, Nostalgia 64. Check it out on Kirko's YouTube

01:25:02
page. That's a that's a quickest way

01:25:03
to get to it And, and his work on his YouTube page, there'll be

01:25:06
the instructions on how to use it and all that there.

01:25:09
If you have an Everdrive like we did, we highly recommend playing

01:25:11
it that way. If you don't, it's still a

01:25:13
fantastic game and worth playing.

01:25:15
Otherwise, this was great. Man.

01:25:18
I'm so happy we got a chance to do this.

01:25:19
This was awesome. Yeah.

01:25:21
Go Banjo. Go Kirko.

01:25:24
Mods, check out their work, not just this game, but others too.

01:25:27
Like Jiggy's mentioned, a lot of them have a lot of really

01:25:29
awesome original ideas. And yeah, really, really great

01:25:34
work from from them even before this came along.

01:25:37
So again, thank you very much for for letting us play this

01:25:40
Kirko. We will make sure that we are

01:25:41
continuing to shout out your awesome work and everyone check

01:25:44
out the stuff that that they've been making Jiggy until we get

01:25:49
people to the next Banjo Adventure.

01:25:52
Because yes, there is more everybody there is more.

01:25:54
It's so funny because we recorded that particular episode

01:25:57
on the GVA ones before we even played or recorded the other

01:26:02
ones. Yes, it's been sitting on the

01:26:04
back burner for a while. I'm very excited for people to

01:26:06
hear it. We have another couple of guests

01:26:08
on it as well, and we have two games to talk about and Grunty's

01:26:12
Revenge and Banjo Pilot 2 GBA representations of this

01:26:16
franchise. So until that time, Jiggy, where

01:26:19
can everybody make sure they're keeping up with your awesome

01:26:22
stuff? Oh, go on YouTube.

01:26:23
Go find me on YouTube. Jiggy, look back all one word.

01:26:27
Yeah, I'm actually going through Mumbo Mae.

01:26:30
And it was not intentional, but just everything worked out that

01:26:33
we're doing so much banjo content on this podcast as well.

01:26:37
And I'm like, so here for it. I'm like this is the best.

01:26:40
June is going to be this huge drop off for you.

01:26:43
Just go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:26:45
It's, it's pretty funny. I'll just say this like I was

01:26:49
exploring. Clearly my audience is Banjo

01:26:51
Focus Rare focused, which makes total sense because so am I.

01:26:55
But I try to do other things. You know, I did a Pikmin video,

01:26:58
Ape Escape, you know, Zelda, stuff like that.

01:27:01
You know, we're talking like 1000 views, 3000 views.

01:27:04
I make one Banjo video. It's like almost 20 views.

01:27:07
And it's like, all right, I see what you want.

01:27:10
I hear you, Mambo Mae. Let's go.

01:27:12
Banjo content out the wazoo. Let's keep pumping it out.

01:27:16
So we're pumping it out. Actually, as we're talking right

01:27:19
now, I have a follow up to the Mysteries of Banjo Tooie, which

01:27:24
is more Mysteries of Banjo Tooie coming soon, probably out by the

01:27:30
time this episode's out. So just go, you know, you want

01:27:34
more banjo content, Just navigate to my channel.

01:27:35
Yep, you can watch watch a couple banjo videos and you

01:27:39
know, just throw your life away with banjo.

01:27:44
They're the worst ways to do it. Poke in, you know, after you

01:27:46
play the game or as you're playing it poke in on on the VOD

01:27:49
of your stream for this as well cuz that was fun a.

01:27:52
Lot of people even watching that.

01:27:54
So 8 1/2 hours. Yeah, don't don't play this in

01:27:57
one sitting like some individuals did on this podcast.

01:28:00
I won't name names and, and, and check in on it after you've

01:28:04
experienced a lot of the game too, cuz like we said before, I

01:28:06
do think that, you know, finding the mighty poo and like things

01:28:09
like, like, it's just these types of things.

01:28:12
It's great, really, really fun and it's really well

01:28:14
represented. So remember 64 on your podcast

01:28:18
feed, of course, which is where you're probably listening to

01:28:19
this and on YouTube as well, where you can find the video

01:28:24
version of this random silly short videos that I make.

01:28:28
And every once in a while I'll toss in some gameplay and

01:28:30
things. But yeah, YouTube, you can find

01:28:33
and support the show as well. Of course he.

01:28:36
Pretty much posts memes. He pretty much posts memes on as

01:28:39
shorts. Yeah, on his pretty much YouTube

01:28:41
channel says it's if you like memes and you like N64, yeah,

01:28:45
you might as well go check it. Out might as well do that and

01:28:48
and it ends up being usually somewhat related to a game that

01:28:52
we may be playing in the future or currently or whatever.

01:28:55
I have like these tired random ideas where I'm just like, sure,

01:29:00
that sounds fun and then I just post it and see if people like

01:29:02
it. And that's not just experiment,

01:29:05
but yeah, anytime I have time to sort of do something silly and

01:29:08
extra like that, I I throw it up on YouTube and, and on social

01:29:11
media. So remember 64 show on

01:29:13
socialmediapatreon.com/remember 64 show as well, where you can

01:29:19
support the show for as little as a buck a month.

01:29:20
You can get episodes early, you can get extra videos and content

01:29:23
early that I try and put up early.

01:29:25
If I give it, I get a chance to and then also going to start

01:29:29
putting up a little bit more extra content like a small audio

01:29:33
episodes or these are other games that I'm playing.

01:29:34
This is what I'm thinking about this and that time is a

01:29:37
construct. So I am working within that.

01:29:39
But but something that I want to keep bolstering up.

01:29:41
And like I mentioned and we talked about earlier, voice

01:29:45
voice cast dot app slash remember 64.

01:29:48
You can leave us a message and let us know what you thought

01:29:51
about Nostalgia 64, if you are currently playing it, if you

01:29:54
have finished it, what did you think about it?

01:29:56
What were your favorite stages and what do you want to see

01:29:59
next? I think that would be a really

01:30:00
cool way for us to sort of continue talking about this

01:30:03
awesome, great, awesome game and work and include everybody else

01:30:07
in it as well. And we'll play your audio on on

01:30:09
the show and we'll talk for talk about it like we did earlier,

01:30:11
so. Very curious to hear, very

01:30:14
curious to hear what game you want us to play next.

01:30:18
That is very interesting to me because yes, so many games on

01:30:22
this console that I have never played, that Dave's never

01:30:25
played. So if you have a die hard

01:30:28
favorite, which I've heard some obscure Die hard favorites.

01:30:32
Love it. Yeah, pretty cool.

01:30:34
Yeah. So let's do it.

01:30:35
Yeah, let's do that. So leave us a voice message.

01:30:38
If you don't, you can always message us on social media and

01:30:40
stuff, but but feel free to do that and reach out and we will.

01:30:44
We'll make it happen because honestly, we want to play

01:30:46
everything. We will, I will, and we will

01:30:49
play everything. So it doesn't matter if it's

01:30:52
weird, doesn't matter if it's good, bad, ugly, anywhere in

01:30:55
between, we're going to play it so.

01:30:56
Plus Ultra. Plus Ultra, we will we will

01:30:59
experience it and we will play it and you'll hear it here on

01:31:01
remember 64. So thank you everyone for

01:31:03
joining us. Check out nostalgia 64 and Jiggy

01:31:06
look back on YouTube and check out this game.

01:31:09
We will talk to everybody soon. More Banjo Kazooie coming next

01:31:12
episode and some really fun stuff throughout the summer as

01:31:15
well. So talk to everybody soon.
